- 2:05Speaker 1: the voice, Come on dig me now, one and only
- 2:09Speaker 1: Steve Harley got a radio show. Here we go today.
- 2:14Speaker 1: I think I have something for a lot of people today,
- 2:17Speaker 1: at least I hope I do. And this is about
- 2:21Speaker 1: on your journey, And this is about something that happens
- 2:25Speaker 1: to us all. I mean, what happens to all of
- 2:30Speaker 1: us from time to time when we get discouraged, What
- 2:35Speaker 1: happens to all of us when we feel like quitting,
- 2:39Speaker 1: What happens to all of us when we have that
- 2:42Speaker 1: turn back moment. What happens to all of us when
- 2:47Speaker 1: it don't seem like it's gonna pay out? Because I
- 2:51Speaker 1: want you to understand something that everyone, every single living soul,
- 2:56Speaker 1: has those thoughts about something at some point in their life.
- 3:02Speaker 1: I mean, you know, look, I've oftentimes been discouraged about
- 3:06Speaker 1: things not happening as fast as I like them. All
- 3:11Speaker 1: things don't pan out the way I would like for
- 3:14Speaker 1: them to have panned out. I mean, there's so many
- 3:18Speaker 1: ways to get discouraged. But but what my encouragement to
- 3:25Speaker 1: you is when discouragement comes is understand this. It is
- 3:31Speaker 1: a part of the growth process. It is a test.
- 3:38Speaker 1: It is a test of your faith. How bad you
- 3:43Speaker 1: want it? Do you really believe? That's all faith is.
- 3:50Speaker 1: It's simply, and I've said this how many times. Faith
- 3:54Speaker 1: is to belief in things that you cannot see. So
- 3:57Speaker 1: when discouragement comes, set back comes, it is a test
- 4:02Speaker 1: of your faith. At least it's been that way for me.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Now other people can explain it another way. I'm not
- 4:08Speaker 1: other people. I can only give it to you the
- 4:10Speaker 1: way it has come to me and throughout my life,
- 4:13Speaker 1: and man on man on man. Discouragement sometimes it's tough
- 4:17Speaker 1: to deal with because it seems at times when you
- 4:23Speaker 1: are discouraged that is so absolute that this means the end.
- 4:31Speaker 1: And if you allow it to set in, it can
- 4:35Speaker 1: be just that the end of you. When Milly Milly,
- 4:39Speaker 1: it was a test, that's all it is. But the
- 4:44Speaker 1: majority of people that I know who are not successful
- 4:48Speaker 1: or who have told me the story of how they
- 4:51Speaker 1: gave up, it was because at a moment of discouragement
- 4:56Speaker 1: that they allowed it to set in and it became
- 5:01Speaker 1: so engulfing that it became the reason why you shouldn't finish.
- 5:05Speaker 1: And then they started justifying it with hither one that
- 5:08Speaker 1: I hate to hear. Well, if if it's God's will,
- 5:11Speaker 1: excuse me, if it's God's will that you fail. If
- 5:18Speaker 1: it's God's will that you're not successful, If it's God's
- 5:24Speaker 1: will that you lay down and give up, it's God's
- 5:27Speaker 1: will that you allow yourself to amount to, to not
- 5:32Speaker 1: reach your potential, that's God's will. That's not the God
- 5:37Speaker 1: I know. That's not the God I served, That's not
- 5:40Speaker 1: the God I've read about. That's not the God I
- 5:43Speaker 1: believe in. I'm sorry, I just my mother always taught
- 5:47Speaker 1: me something that he didn't bring me this far to
- 5:50Speaker 1: leave me. I just don't believe that. Not for a second.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Now have I convinced myself or some things, yep, have
- 6:01Speaker 1: I allowed the devil to come into the picture and
- 6:04Speaker 1: paint a different one from it. Yep, yep, I've done
- 6:07Speaker 1: all of that. But you can't blame that on God. Now,
- 6:11Speaker 1: come on, So when discouragement comes, try to look at
- 6:19Speaker 1: it if you can, as a test of your faith,
- 6:23Speaker 1: and you merely have to pass the test. It could
- 6:27Speaker 1: be for a day, a half a day, a few hours,
- 6:29Speaker 1: a week, a few weeks, it don't matter. Don't nobody
- 6:33Speaker 1: know how long the test period is. Your job is
- 6:36Speaker 1: to keep the faith and keep moving. Keep the faith
- 6:40Speaker 1: and keep moving, keep working, keep believing, keep hope alive.
- 6:46Speaker 1: That's your job. If you do that, that's how you
- 6:50Speaker 1: pass the test. It could be over tomorrow, it could
- 6:53Speaker 1: be over in two weeks, it could be over in
- 6:55Speaker 1: a month. You don't know. But all you got to
- 6:57Speaker 1: do is wake up and keep the faith and fight
- 7:00Speaker 1: the discouraging feelings. And how do you do that? Steve?
- 7:03Speaker 1: Now here we go. This is the part I know
- 7:06Speaker 1: about for show because how many times I've had to
- 7:09Speaker 1: fight off discouragement in order to get to where God
- 7:13Speaker 1: wanted me to be. What do you do when you
- 7:17Speaker 1: become discouraged? Well, here's a series of things. I do.
- 7:23Speaker 1: I think of the outcome. When I get discouraged about
- 7:26Speaker 1: a task, I think about the outcome. Man, what would
- 7:30Speaker 1: it be like if I were to complete the task?
- 7:33Speaker 1: What would it be like? Man? What would the outcome
- 7:36Speaker 1: be for me? If I hung on in there? If
- 7:39Speaker 1: I didn't give up, if I if I imagine, I
- 7:44Speaker 1: imagine if I don't quit, I imagine if I don't
- 7:48Speaker 1: give up, what would it be like? Man, Suppose everything
- 7:54Speaker 1: I'm hoping for comes true. But if I don't quit
- 7:57Speaker 1: and give up, that might just be the case. I
- 8:00Speaker 1: start talking to myself like that, I think of what
- 8:04Speaker 1: the upside is. What's the upside to stay in with it?
- 8:09Speaker 1: You see, all this is the same thing. I'm just
- 8:11Speaker 1: giving you different ways to look at it. I'm saying
- 8:14Speaker 1: the exact same thing over and over. But I'm just
- 8:16Speaker 1: trying to find the switch that connects in your mind
- 8:19Speaker 1: where you can say, Okay, man, I'm gonna hang in there.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Because if you think of the outcome and the outcome
- 8:26Speaker 1: is appealing to you, if you imagine what it would
- 8:29Speaker 1: be like if you don't give up or you don't quit,
- 8:32Speaker 1: if you think only of what the upside is to
- 8:36Speaker 1: stay in with it, and then I go, where can
- 8:40Speaker 1: this lead to? If I stay with it, man, and
- 8:44Speaker 1: the outcome comes true? What else could that lead me to?
- 8:49Speaker 1: Because I mean, there's always more to it? So where
- 8:52Speaker 1: else could this lead me to? What are the possibilities? Man?
- 8:58Speaker 1: What are the limitless possibilities? What could God possibly have
- 9:03Speaker 1: in store for me? If I just hang in there?
- 9:06Speaker 1: If I passed this test of faith? If I just
- 9:09Speaker 1: passed this test, Now, it ain't gonna be the only one.
- 9:12Speaker 1: But you gotta get past this one. No, then you
- 9:15Speaker 1: gonna hear a smooth plane. Then it's gonna be another one.
- 9:18Speaker 1: It's gonna be another one. Life ain't none but a
- 9:21Speaker 1: series of tests. Man. Man, when you're thinking about giving up,
- 9:27Speaker 1: when you're discouraged, think of the outcome. Imagine what it
- 9:31Speaker 1: would be like if you don't quit, if you don't
- 9:33Speaker 1: give up. What's the upside to staying with it? Where
- 9:37Speaker 1: can this all lead to? What? What can this get
- 9:40Speaker 1: you too? If you do this and you get to
- 9:43Speaker 1: where you think you want to be? Oh my god,
- 9:46Speaker 1: what's after that? What are the limitless and endless possibilities
- 9:52Speaker 1: of holding on to your faith? What could really be
- 9:55Speaker 1: out there for me? Man? If I just passed this test.
- 9:58Speaker 1: You gotta talk yourself off into hanging in there. And
- 10:02Speaker 1: sometimes it ain't nobody talking to you about hanging in
- 10:05Speaker 1: there but you. But that's good enough because God has
- 10:09Speaker 1: a blessing for you. God's got a blessing with your
- 10:13Speaker 1: name on it. God has packages bundle up with your
- 10:18Speaker 1: name on it. He got blessings just in boxes with
- 10:21Speaker 1: your name on it. Man, I want all the mind shipped.
- 10:27Speaker 1: I'll be on Faith Street waiting there to receive. I
- 10:31Speaker 1: just I'm just believing he's shipping stuff. But if you
- 10:35Speaker 1: keep moving from the address of Faith, if you keep
- 10:38Speaker 1: getting off Faith Street where you want the packages to go,
- 10:42Speaker 1: they got your name on it and it's based on
- 10:45Speaker 1: your faith. But if you keep moving on Doubt Avenue
- 10:47Speaker 1: and ain't no way Boulevard and the package get delivered
- 10:51Speaker 1: only the Faith Street what you keep moving off Faith
- 10:54Speaker 1: Street for? Come on, man, you can't give up. You
- 10:56Speaker 1: can't give up. You're listening, ladies and gentlemen. It's about
- 11:05Speaker 1: to go down. That's what he says. Get a cute something,
- 11:15Speaker 1: Get a cute something, boy. Let me get this out
- 11:20Speaker 1: the way. Charley Strawberry, Hey, good morning, call it for real.

- 11:53Speaker 1: the fifty years of the said Gamma chapter of the
- 11:58Speaker 1: greatest Fraternity born Omaka site. We will celebrate since nineteen
- 12:10Speaker 1: sixty nine, the birth of a chapter that changed the
- 12:14Speaker 1: face of o'maka. There was a lamp that was cut,
- 12:20Speaker 1: shaped and made in the seventies who grew up to
- 12:25Speaker 1: become one of the most famous Omega men of all time.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Outside of the founding fathers, outside of William Cosby, Michael Jordan,
- 12:45Speaker 1: Shaquille O'Neill, Vernon Jordan, there is one man that resides
- 12:55Speaker 1: in more households than them all. Come on. This is
- 13:03Speaker 1: a story about a dog, the famous dog script missing
- 13:10Speaker 1: the dog, comic Dog. I didn't know they was writing
- 13:16Speaker 1: a song about me when they came up with this
- 13:21Speaker 1: is a story about a famous dog. And I'll be
- 13:25Speaker 1: dog gone If I ain't famous, I will be with
- 13:29Speaker 1: the bros this evening. Whoa, I'm coming? What are you
- 13:33Speaker 1: yelling for? Steve Harvey won't be there. Wonder love will

- 14:40Speaker 1: We'll talk about it right after this. You're listening to
- 14:44Speaker 1: the show. Amazon founder and chief executive Jeff Bezos and
- 14:51Speaker 1: his wife Mackenzie Bezos have finally reached a divorce settlement.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Jeff and McKenzie Bezos announced the discussion of their their
- 14:59Speaker 1: dissolution their marriage in separate statements on Twitter. McKenzie said
- 15:03Speaker 1: that Twitter, they're done now, right, so whatever? Yeah, social media,
- 15:08Speaker 1: you know, mckensey Bezos said that she will give Jeff
- 15:11Speaker 1: Bezos all of her interests in The Washington Post and
- 15:14Speaker 1: his space exploration company Blue Origin, and seventy five percent
- 15:19Speaker 1: of their Amazon stock. What McKenzie Bezos will retain roughly
- 15:24Speaker 1: four percent of Amazon's outstanding common stock, which is worth
- 15:28Speaker 1: about thirty five point six billion. With a B dollars
- 15:33Speaker 1: go mckins. Yeah, Jeff will remain the richest person in
- 15:38Speaker 1: the world with the net words above one hundred and
- 15:40Speaker 1: ten billion, Steve Harvey one hundred and ten billion. Yeah, yeah,
- 15:51Speaker 1: Do you know what I would do? What would you do? Tommy? What?
- 15:57Speaker 1: Tommy died in a hot air balloon. I'm talking about

- 18:13Speaker 1: need to be concerned about? Yeah, you would need to
- 18:15Speaker 1: be dead because you would die with answers like that?
- 18:18Speaker 1: Anything else you need from me? Why your nerves so bad?
- 18:23Speaker 1: Am I getting on your nerves? Did you keep asking
- 18:25Speaker 1: me stuff? What do you want? What do you want? Tommy? Yes? Billion? Yeah?
- 18:35Speaker 1: How much do we get? Good? Question enough to leave?
- 18:40Speaker 1: What do you need to leave? What is your number?

- 32:02Speaker 1: amber Rose, we haven't heard from her in a minute.
- 32:05Speaker 1: Amber Rose surprised all of her fans. Uh, they didn't
- 32:08Speaker 1: even know there was a new man in her life.
- 32:10Speaker 1: And yes there is, because she has announced that she's
- 32:12Speaker 1: expecting her second child. It's a boy with def Jam
- 32:16Speaker 1: Records exec Alexander A. E. Edwards. Congratulations. Amber Rose posted
- 32:21Speaker 1: a picture of her baby bump on Instagram. She also
- 32:24Speaker 1: said her son Sebastian, the one she had with Whiz
- 32:27Speaker 1: Khalifa when they were married. She said, he's so happy
- 32:30Speaker 1: to be a big brother. That's good, and Whiz Khalifa
- 32:33Speaker 1: says he's happy for her. What else was we is
- 32:36Speaker 1: gonna say? Well, I mean your ex canna say whatever.
- 32:39Speaker 1: It depends on what kind of relationship they have. Yeah, yeah,
- 32:43Speaker 1: have you seen the whiz Khalifa commercial and the Oreo
- 32:47Speaker 1: commercial with the son. That's really scute, Yah, Sebastian his son,
- 32:51Speaker 1: so cute, so cute. I love, Yeah, really cute. I
- 32:56Speaker 1: know you haven't seen it. Yeah. What's Khalifa Oreo commercial
- 33:01Speaker 1: with his sons about? Oh? Yeah, I saw that commercial.
- 33:04Speaker 1: Isn't a cute? Actually really cute? That's really really cool
- 33:07Speaker 1: common father in suntime, you could see the love between them.
- 33:12Speaker 1: They use a lot of hip hop. Um. They used

- 33:30Speaker 1: out all these shows. Oh, good answer, Steve. Good. Oh
- 33:35Speaker 1: I don't even know how to address. That's all right, Steve.
- 33:41Speaker 1: Let's let's get to today's headlines, please, ladies and gentlemen.
- 33:45Speaker 1: The lovely miss Anne trip. Oh thank you, Steve. Thanks
- 33:49Speaker 1: everybody out there. Good morning. This is a trip with
- 33:51Speaker 1: the news on this Friday. How Stamocrists say they're expecting
- 33:54Speaker 1: to get a look at the entire Mala report, despite
- 33:57Speaker 1: Republican lawmaker's best efforts of keeping that from happening. As
- 34:00Speaker 1: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi puts it, quote, to us, it's inevitable.
- 34:03Speaker 1: To them, it's inconceivable. Meanwhile, The New York Times reports
- 34:07Speaker 1: that some of the investigators who helped Mulla put that
- 34:09Speaker 1: report together are unhappy with the way that US Attorney
- 34:13Speaker 1: General William Barr has characterized what they found in his
- 34:16Speaker 1: four page so called summary. They'd like to see the
- 34:18Speaker 1: whole report issue to the Republic as well. The head
- 34:21Speaker 1: of the Ethiopian airline says that Boeing did not properly
- 34:24Speaker 1: train pilots on the new safety system they installed on
- 34:26Speaker 1: the seven thirty seven Max aircraft. Ethiopian investigators say that
- 34:30Speaker 1: the flight crew of their Dooms seven thirty seven struggled
- 34:33Speaker 1: to control the craft almost immediately after take off. It crashed,
- 34:36Speaker 1: with all on board killed. Four months after that, you know,
- 34:39Speaker 1: another Boeing four months rather earlier than that, another Bowing
- 34:43Speaker 1: seven thirty seven crash. This one was part of Indonesia's
- 34:46Speaker 1: air fleet, and everyone on that flight was killed as well.
- 34:49Speaker 1: Boeing CEO Dennis Muhlenberger says the company is working on
- 34:52Speaker 1: an immediate software update. It's our responsibility to eliminate this risk.
- 34:58Speaker 1: We own it, and we know how to do it.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Both crashes claim three hundred and forty six lives. People
- 35:04Speaker 1: all over the country are scratching their heads about the
- 35:06Speaker 1: workings of the Dallas, Texas Police Department, even though some
- 35:09Speaker 1: more people are screaming. That's because a young black woman
- 35:12Speaker 1: is seen on video last month alone in a dark
- 35:14Speaker 1: parking lot, stalked and harassed and beaten up by a
- 35:17Speaker 1: white man. He brandishes a gun. She tries to phone
- 35:20Speaker 1: the police. He knocks the phone out of her hand
- 35:23Speaker 1: and proceeds to punch her in the head like she's
- 35:26Speaker 1: a man, repeatedly and again. All this is seen on video. Nevertheless,
- 35:30Speaker 1: the victim is being charged with felony criminal mischief for
- 35:34Speaker 1: leisurely damaging her attacker's pickup because she did that when
- 35:38Speaker 1: after he hit her, she went and attacked his pickup. Meanwhile,
- 35:41Speaker 1: her white attacker only charges misdemeanor assault. But then they
- 35:44Speaker 1: were angry protests in the streets and the Dallas cops
- 35:47Speaker 1: didn't decide, well, maybe we should upgrade the charges on
- 35:50Speaker 1: the racist attacker to aggravate his assault with deadly weapon
- 35:53Speaker 1: a second degree founding with unlawfully carrying a weapon as well.
- 35:56Speaker 1: Pittsburgh City Council's given final approval to a measure their
- 35:59Speaker 1: restrict certain time guns, including military style automatic weapons. Chicago
- 36:03Speaker 1: is suing Jesse a smalllett to get the money spent
- 36:06Speaker 1: on police over time in his alleged assault case. Sears
- 36:09Speaker 1: is saying he's getting read open. Their first bunch of
- 36:11Speaker 1: small stores are in bankruptcy. Remember Herman Kane, the black
- 36:14Speaker 1: multi millionaire owner of Godfather's Pizza. Well, President Trump has
- 36:17Speaker 1: nominated him to fill one of the two empty seats
- 36:19Speaker 1: on the Federal Reserve boards. You know he ran from
- 36:21Speaker 1: twenty twelve for president. My faith is a big part
- 36:25Speaker 1: of who Herman Kane is. It is a big part
- 36:28Speaker 1: of how I made this decision. Amazing Gray, and then
- 36:31Speaker 1: he sang, now back to Steve Harvey. Morning, you're listening
- 36:36Speaker 1: to show. The man suspected in the shooting death of
- 36:40Speaker 1: Nipsey Hustle was charged on Thursday with murder. The La
- 36:45Speaker 1: County DA charged Eric Holder with one count of murder
- 36:49Speaker 1: two counts of attempted murder and one count of possession
- 36:52Speaker 1: of a firearm by a felon. Eric Holder faces the
- 36:55Speaker 1: possibility of life in prison if convicted. Eric Holder plet
- 37:00Speaker 1: not guilty and his bond was set at five million dollars.
- 37:04Speaker 1: He will be back in court on May tenth. Eric
- 37:06Speaker 1: Holder's attorney is Chris Darden. You guys remember Chris Darden.
- 37:10Speaker 1: He was a prosecutor in the OJ have no idea what, Yeah,
- 37:17Speaker 1: take that job. I don't know. I don't know, but
- 37:21Speaker 1: a lot of prosecutors do turn to um, you know,
- 37:25Speaker 1: defense attorneys. Yeah, because I guess they make more money.
- 37:31Speaker 1: But that job, I don't know. I don't know why.
- 37:33Speaker 1: You mean that case? Yeah, that case, That's what I mean. Yeah,
- 37:38Speaker 1: I really don't get that. Yeah. Yeah, I guess everybody
- 37:43Speaker 1: remembers an attorney, But I'm not defending the dude that
- 37:45Speaker 1: I know to. No, I'll defend you if I thank
- 37:48Speaker 1: you innocent, you know, yeah, yeah, see right there. I'm
- 37:55Speaker 1: still on why is there even a trial period? Why?
- 37:58Speaker 1: Because this is the United Day, and yeah, you have
- 38:02Speaker 1: to get a trial. You're innocent until proven guilty, all
- 38:05Speaker 1: of that. You know how this country works, how the
- 38:07Speaker 1: legal system works. But we know he did it. He
- 38:09Speaker 1: know he did it. Yeah. Yeah, Well it's up to
- 38:11Speaker 1: the prosecution and make sure that when the jury deliberate,
- 38:14Speaker 1: I would leave. You wouldn't go far. Now we ain't
- 38:18Speaker 1: going far, hey, walking out to that wrong. I must
- 38:22Speaker 1: just wait for y'all. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, they should
- 38:26Speaker 1: have to deliberate long. No, it won't be long. I'm
- 38:29Speaker 1: going to bank. We ready to judge. Yeah what y'all
- 38:36Speaker 1: y'all we got it. And walk were hand the paper too,
- 38:45Speaker 1: yeah yeah, the foreman and then the bailiff and then
- 38:49Speaker 1: the judge. Yeah all right, Wow, that's crazy that that is.
- 38:55Speaker 1: This has been some kind of week though, hasn't Yeah,
- 38:57Speaker 1: And I mean, la, it's still you know, people are
- 39:01Speaker 1: still going by Nipsey Hustle store paying tribute, you know,
- 39:05Speaker 1: I mean and now there's tributes all over the world,
- 39:07Speaker 1: all over the country, and it's made, you know, a
- 39:10Speaker 1: global impact as well. Yeah, he's been a lot to
- 39:14Speaker 1: a lot of people. He really really did. And uh
- 39:19Speaker 1: programs and events happening in New York, I saone, in Houston,
- 39:22Speaker 1: on social media, Atlanta, Atlanta, yes, everywhere. Was a special man. Yes,
- 39:30Speaker 1: he was a good guy. Very good guy. Yeah, oh boy, yeah,
- 39:35Speaker 1: really sad. All right, coming up at thirty four after
- 39:38Speaker 1: the hour, Chicago says the city will file a civil
- 39:42Speaker 1: lawsuit against actor Jesse Smallett because he refuses to pay
- 39:46Speaker 1: for the cost of the investigation. We'll be back right
- 39:49Speaker 1: after this. You're listening to all right, Empire. Actor Jesse
- 39:55Speaker 1: Smallett has refused to pay the City of Chicago more
- 39:58Speaker 1: than one hundred and thirty thousand and dollars. This is
- 40:01Speaker 1: the cost of the investigation, you know, for what he
- 40:05Speaker 1: says happened to him, his reported hate crime. The city's
- 40:08Speaker 1: law department announced this on Thursday. Last week. The city
- 40:11Speaker 1: sent Jesse Smallett a letter demanding the payment for what
- 40:15Speaker 1: it costs police to investigate his alleged attack. The letters
- 40:18Speaker 1: said he must pay within seven days, and now the
- 40:20Speaker 1: seven days have passed, and the City of Chicago's Law
- 40:23Speaker 1: department it is now drafting a civil complaint that will
- 40:27Speaker 1: be filed in the Circuit Court of Cook County. The
- 40:30Speaker 1: city said it will pursue the full measure of damages
- 40:33Speaker 1: allowed under the ordinance. The money the city requested is
- 40:36Speaker 1: separate from the ten thousand dollars bond that Jesse Smallett
- 40:40Speaker 1: forfeited as a condition of the charges against him being dropped,
- 40:44Speaker 1: and then and related news to Roji p Henson was
- 40:47Speaker 1: on the view yesterday. She said, Jesse is coming back
- 40:50Speaker 1: to the show. Take a listen. Recently your co star
- 40:54Speaker 1: Jesse Smillett, husband and the news the charges against him
- 40:57Speaker 1: have been dropped, and you say you are quote happy
- 40:59Speaker 1: the truth's finally been set free and he's spoken with Jesse. Yeah.
- 41:03Speaker 1: I talked to Jesse all the time and he's doing well. Yeah,
- 41:07Speaker 1: we're all going well. So is doing well. We're on
- 41:10Speaker 1: hiatus right now. The writers are trying to figure out
- 41:12Speaker 1: what the next season is gonna look like, what our
- 41:14Speaker 1: storyline is gonna be. They're trying to drum up some
- 41:16Speaker 1: really good, juicy stuff for you guys. So that's what
- 41:19Speaker 1: we are. And I'm about the show. Yes, I haven't
- 41:22Speaker 1: heard anything else. Yeah, I haven't heard anything. And this
- 41:25Speaker 1: is the sixth season. I think we're going into the
- 41:27Speaker 1: sixty sixth seasons and that is it. So you're gonna
- 41:33Speaker 1: get it. Didn't need some story. They didn't do the
- 41:35Speaker 1: one he told Okay, alright, imitating life six episodes right there. Yeah,
- 41:50Speaker 1: I mean I'm like this, man, I think enough is enough.
- 41:53Speaker 1: Here's a deal. The public consensus people think that he
- 42:00Speaker 1: made the story up, but obviously that was something that
- 42:05Speaker 1: proved something someone did wrong that gave him the ups
- 42:10Speaker 1: on this whole thing. He obviously did something right and
- 42:13Speaker 1: somebody did something wrong somewhere, so all charges are dropped.
- 42:17Speaker 1: Jesse Smollett is free to go. The anger, the anger
- 42:22Speaker 1: of him going and being allowed to go, It's like,
- 42:26Speaker 1: the outrage is really abnormal for someone who really is
- 42:32Speaker 1: being accused of lying, wasting time and lying at worst,
- 42:40Speaker 1: it's what you can get him. But when the outrage
- 42:45Speaker 1: of these cop killings, the outrage of the other killings,
- 42:53Speaker 1: especially when it comes from a city mayor, and when
- 42:56Speaker 1: it comes from a politicians, we want the same for
- 43:01Speaker 1: all of it. If you could just be that mad
- 43:05Speaker 1: about a cop getting away with killing a person after
- 43:09Speaker 1: we just saw the damn video, if we could get
- 43:12Speaker 1: that angel mad, the anger you got for Jesse Smillett,
- 43:15Speaker 1: if we could just put that to a murder McDonald brother, yeah, man, man, man,
- 43:23Speaker 1: we could be onto something. Yeah. Seriously, I'm just I'm
- 43:28Speaker 1: just tired of him talking about this because this ain't
- 43:32Speaker 1: that damn. And you're wasting more time filing a civil
- 43:37Speaker 1: lawsuit and all of this. You know, you're keeping it
- 43:40Speaker 1: going when it doesn't have to be. Yeah, because he
- 43:43Speaker 1: can't go to jail behind the lawsuit, right, not No
- 43:47Speaker 1: hundred and thirty. That's a bill. You can't go jail for.
- 43:51Speaker 1: Not pick That's what I mean. You can't go to
- 43:53Speaker 1: jail for Wow. Yeah, Terashi got him up off her
- 44:02Speaker 1: though when she was on the view every day. Yeah, yes,
- 44:10Speaker 1: we do. What else you gonna be on the show?
- 44:12Speaker 1: I don't know what day I heard nothing else. Don't
- 44:14Speaker 1: come for me? Is real? Yes, she did, cookie and
- 44:22Speaker 1: she said it so sweetly. Um, I talked to him
- 44:26Speaker 1: every Yeah, every day I talked. I talked to him
- 44:32Speaker 1: every day. That night, I ain't heard nothing else. I
- 44:37Speaker 1: heard nothing else. Will he be on the show? That's
- 44:39Speaker 1: what I heard. I heard nothing else? All Right? Up
- 44:42Speaker 1: next and is a nephew with the frank phone call
- 44:44Speaker 1: for today right after this you're listening to show coming
- 44:50Speaker 1: up at the top of the hour, right about four
- 44:52Speaker 1: minutes after today's Strawberry letter. The subject my past fleeing
- 44:57Speaker 1: is her new thing. But right now the nephew is
- 45:00Speaker 1: in the building with today's prank phone call. What you
- 45:03Speaker 1: got now? Up right? Trash cans? That sounds serious when
- 45:08Speaker 1: you come by my house and you get my trash. Yeah,
- 45:13Speaker 1: I don't need my cans laying down on the side.
- 45:15Speaker 1: I need them up right when you get through with him,
- 45:18Speaker 1: this boy Jaenis. I'll tell you really, you got some
- 45:24Speaker 1: genius out of that. Let's right, trash cans? Right? Cat? Hello, Hello,
- 45:31Speaker 1: I'm trying to reach a Kendrick. All right, this is Wade. Wade.
- 45:39Speaker 1: I wanted to try and speak with you if I could.
- 45:42Speaker 1: You you're actually, um one of the guys that work
- 45:46Speaker 1: on the garbage truck that comes to the neighborhood. Am
- 45:50Speaker 1: I right? Oh yeah, what a rout you on? Let's
- 45:55Speaker 1: brought you on? Sir? I'm not sure about what route
- 45:59Speaker 1: I'm on. I'm mission for a subdivision and um, listen,
- 46:03Speaker 1: I got a bit of a problem. Uh. It seems
- 46:06Speaker 1: that you got a problem. You need to call you
- 46:11Speaker 1: get my number. Uh, sir, I've done the research and
- 46:14Speaker 1: getting your number, I found out who's actually driving the
- 46:17Speaker 1: truck as well as the people that are on the
- 46:18Speaker 1: back of the truck, and want to get some things
- 46:22Speaker 1: clarified here I'm noticing that when you guys come by
- 46:26Speaker 1: my home. You know, you gave you hold on, sir,
- 46:30Speaker 1: I'm not I'm not holding to get up. I was
- 46:33Speaker 1: wrestling a little bit um who gave you my number
- 46:37Speaker 1: because you said you had a problem. I'm not the
- 46:39Speaker 1: person who you talked to about a problem. I understand that, sir,
- 46:43Speaker 1: But what it's been narrowed down is it's been given
- 46:46Speaker 1: to me that you're actually the person that is the problem.
- 46:50Speaker 1: And I wanted to give you a call personally and
- 46:52Speaker 1: try and see if I can get that rectified. Now
- 46:55Speaker 1: you're you're the one that's on the back of the
- 46:58Speaker 1: truck and you you pick up the trash thingies or
- 47:00Speaker 1: whatnot and throw the gardens in. So the problem I'm
- 47:04Speaker 1: having is that when I come home in the evenings,
- 47:07Speaker 1: my trash cans are in a disarray, you know. And
- 47:11Speaker 1: what I want to do is call you and tell
- 47:12Speaker 1: you I want you to start bringing them to the
- 47:14Speaker 1: back by the fence and setting them up right and
- 47:17Speaker 1: put the lids back on them and put him You say,
- 47:21Speaker 1: hold on, hold on, sir, how do you know I'm
- 47:23Speaker 1: the person that even do your house? How you know
- 47:25Speaker 1: how many? Because I know you can't hold on, sir.
- 47:29Speaker 1: I'm I'm not I'm not I'm not trying to be rude,
- 47:31Speaker 1: but I'm asking a question. I know you can't be
- 47:33Speaker 1: calling me on Saturday talking about your trash cans. And
- 47:39Speaker 1: this is my first Saturday. If I want, I want
- 47:42Speaker 1: to get the problem rectified. And you're the problem. The
- 47:46Speaker 1: one who do your house? You're Kindrick, You're you're Kindrick.
- 47:52Speaker 1: And they've told me that you're the person on the
- 47:54Speaker 1: back of the truck that comes through Mission Forest on
- 47:57Speaker 1: my street who told you that. I I have ways
- 48:01Speaker 1: of finding out, sir, who's doing what? Okay, so what
- 48:04Speaker 1: you need to find listen to what I'm saying. So
- 48:06Speaker 1: what you need to find out is the proper person
- 48:09Speaker 1: to talk to about Joe particular. I don't know what
- 48:13Speaker 1: route you, I don't know you, I don't know if
- 48:16Speaker 1: I even do. Look, man, I'm not the person that
- 48:20Speaker 1: you're supposed to call. I'm man. It's Saturday first, So sir, listen, listen.
- 48:24Speaker 1: I don't want to take this to another level, but
- 48:26Speaker 1: what I do want is my trash. But when you
- 48:30Speaker 1: call my sellular phone talking about your trash on Saturday,
- 48:35Speaker 1: and I ain't been often on Saturday in a long time. Sir.
- 48:38Speaker 1: I'm not trying to be rude, but you may need
- 48:41Speaker 1: to research your research and and and talk to them
- 48:45Speaker 1: because I don't even know if I do your route, Sir,
- 48:48Speaker 1: you are the person on my route. Mister, don't tell
- 48:52Speaker 1: me I'm the person on your route. If you ain't, man,
- 48:55Speaker 1: listen to me. Look what you're gonna do. It's put
- 48:59Speaker 1: my trash hands where I want them and when I
- 49:01Speaker 1: want them there, and the lids on top of them,
- 49:04Speaker 1: and quit throwing them across the yard as if you
- 49:06Speaker 1: don't care. And I mean that some trash cans on
- 49:12Speaker 1: a Saturday, and I ain't never been out on a
- 49:14Speaker 1: Saturday before ever, And you're gonna call my sailor phone
- 49:17Speaker 1: talking about trash cans, that's right, because I ain't about
- 49:22Speaker 1: I want my trash cans put where they need to
- 49:25Speaker 1: be in a post. I have to get out of
- 49:27Speaker 1: my car, move the trash cans, take them over to
- 49:29Speaker 1: the fence, put the lens on them. And I don't
- 49:31Speaker 1: want to have to continue to do it. So I've
- 49:33Speaker 1: done the research and I found out, mister that you're
- 49:36Speaker 1: the one. I okay, okay, tell me how you want
- 49:40Speaker 1: a trash can, I'm gonna put them just like tell
- 49:41Speaker 1: me how you want a trash cans. I want them
- 49:44Speaker 1: put in an upright position by the back fence near
- 49:47Speaker 1: the gate, with the lids on the top of them.
- 49:49Speaker 1: Please putting the right up because guess what, I know
- 49:53Speaker 1: how I get trash cans on this. If I see
- 49:56Speaker 1: you out, you hit me? What look like th you're
- 50:00Speaker 1: trying out fact? Factmicate something? Fact mister what's your name against?
- 50:04Speaker 1: What's your name? Way, I'm gonna do my research. I'm
- 50:08Speaker 1: gonna make sure that I put the trans It's like
- 50:10Speaker 1: you're liking all over your y'all and you hit me.
- 50:13Speaker 1: Excuse me on the Saturday talk. Oh my trash hands,

- 54:23Speaker 1: Buckle up, hold on tight, let's go, baby, We got
- 54:25Speaker 1: it for you. The Strawberry Letter subject my past fling
- 54:30Speaker 1: is her new thing. Dear Stephen Shirley, I am a
- 54:33Speaker 1: thirty year old happily married female with a beautiful family.
- 54:37Speaker 1: I need your advice and how to handle a little
- 54:40Speaker 1: situation with my ex and my sister. Ten years ago,
- 54:44Speaker 1: I had sex with a guy and it was like
- 54:46Speaker 1: a friends with benefits situation because we were both young.
- 54:52Speaker 1: He and I have sort of a keep in touch.
- 54:54Speaker 1: We've sort of kept in touch over social media, but
- 54:57Speaker 1: I have not seen each other in years until recently
- 55:01Speaker 1: when I ran into him at the mall and he
- 55:03Speaker 1: told me that he met my younger sister and had
- 55:05Speaker 1: been hanging out with her. Now, I don't have any
- 55:08Speaker 1: feelings whatsoever for this guy, but I know that he
- 55:12Speaker 1: is known to be a playboy, so I don't want
- 55:14Speaker 1: him messing with my sister, never mind the fact that
- 55:17Speaker 1: he and I had a sexual relationship. I told him
- 55:20Speaker 1: that I did not want him dating my sister, and
- 55:23Speaker 1: he told me that I had no say in the matter.
- 55:25Speaker 1: I called my sister and asked her why she hadn't
- 55:28Speaker 1: told me about her new man, and she said that
- 55:31Speaker 1: it was going so good she didn't want a jinxet.
- 55:34Speaker 1: I told her that I knew him very well and
- 55:37Speaker 1: had sex with him several times. She said that didn't
- 55:40Speaker 1: matter to her. At all, because that was in the past.
- 55:43Speaker 1: I told her he has a lot of women, and
- 55:46Speaker 1: she said, he told her about his past, and he's
- 55:48Speaker 1: ready to settle down now with a good woman. No
- 55:52Speaker 1: doubt that my sister is a great catch and any
- 55:55Speaker 1: man would be lucky to have her. But I don't
- 55:57Speaker 1: think this is the man for her. Isn't it a
- 56:00Speaker 1: bit creepy that they both are okay with the fact
- 56:03Speaker 1: that he and I have been together. This is such
- 56:05Speaker 1: an awkward situation. I want to tell our parents, but
- 56:09Speaker 1: I'm not sure if I should or should I just
- 56:11Speaker 1: mind my business? Please advise, yes, big sister, you should
- 56:15Speaker 1: just mind your business. Yeah you should. I know. You
- 56:20Speaker 1: know this. You've used to date this guy and all
- 56:24Speaker 1: of that, and you had a sexual relationship with him.
- 56:26Speaker 1: And guess what, your sister knows that too. And she
- 56:30Speaker 1: said it doesn't bother her at all because what's in
- 56:34Speaker 1: the past is in the past, and everyone has a past.
- 56:36Speaker 1: And he told her that he's ready to settle down.
- 56:40Speaker 1: But it's interesting that he did tell you that he
- 56:44Speaker 1: that he met your younger sister and had been hanging
- 56:46Speaker 1: out with her. He didn't say that there was a
- 56:50Speaker 1: lot to that relationship. That's all he said. But she
- 56:54Speaker 1: seems like she's putting a lot more on it. So
- 56:56Speaker 1: I mean, if I were you, I would just mind
- 56:58Speaker 1: my business. You said your peace to your sister. I
- 57:01Speaker 1: don't think you should involve your parents in it. I mean,
- 57:04Speaker 1: I know you probably want them to talk to her,
- 57:06Speaker 1: but you know that's how people learn, they make mistakes
- 57:09Speaker 1: in life, they have experiences of their own. Again, you've
- 57:13Speaker 1: told her, you told her what kind of guy he was.
- 57:16Speaker 1: The more you talk against him, the more it's going
- 57:18Speaker 1: to make her want to get closer to him. So
- 57:20Speaker 1: if I were you, big sister, yes, I would mind
- 57:23Speaker 1: my own business. You're thirty years old and happily married
- 57:26Speaker 1: with a beautiful family. That's what you should be concentrating on. Steve, Wow,
- 57:32Speaker 1: think this letter to truth. See what didn't happen is
- 57:37Speaker 1: just thirty year old, happily married female with a beautiful family,
- 57:44Speaker 1: had sex with a guy ten years ago. She was twenty.
- 57:50Speaker 1: They were sort of friends with benefits, and he and
- 57:55Speaker 1: you all stayed in touch over the years over social media. Man,
- 58:00Speaker 1: you happily many all this here, but you in touch?
- 58:04Speaker 1: What to dude that used to mess around with? Okay,
- 58:09Speaker 1: what do you think was gonna come out of that?
- 58:13Speaker 1: So you ran up into him at the mall. He
- 58:15Speaker 1: told me he met your younger sister and they had
- 58:18Speaker 1: been hanging out. Now you say, you don't like this guy,
- 58:22Speaker 1: but he's a known playboy, and I don't want to
- 58:25Speaker 1: mess it with my sister. Never mind the fact that
- 58:27Speaker 1: he and I had a sexual relationship. Okay, Then you
- 58:32Speaker 1: told him you didn't want to mess it with you said.
- 58:34Speaker 1: Then he told you it wasn't none of your business.
- 58:39Speaker 1: You ain't got nothing to do with it. Well, see,
- 58:42Speaker 1: this is kind of a trick dude, right here, because
- 58:45Speaker 1: if it wasn't your business, what he tell it to you?
- 58:47Speaker 1: For See, if it wasn't your business, why did he
- 58:53Speaker 1: bring it to you? Because he wanted you to know,
- 58:58Speaker 1: because he wanted them to man, he just putting notches
- 59:02Speaker 1: in his belt. So now here you go, told him
- 59:07Speaker 1: you ain't one of me, you know. Then you call
- 59:11Speaker 1: your sister asker, why why are you telling me? She
- 59:14Speaker 1: said she had a new man who was going so
- 59:15Speaker 1: good she didn't want the jinks all right. Then you
- 59:19Speaker 1: set up and then you told him that you knew
- 59:21Speaker 1: him very well, and then you told him you had
- 59:25Speaker 1: sex with him several times. There's a lot of people
- 59:30Speaker 1: telling stuff in this letter. They ain't got to be
- 59:32Speaker 1: telling it. He didn't have to tell you he's mester
- 59:36Speaker 1: with your sister, and you ain't have to tell your
- 59:38Speaker 1: sister that you slept with him, but you did because
- 59:44Speaker 1: you thought it would run him off. She said that
- 59:47Speaker 1: it didn't matter to her at all because that was
- 59:51Speaker 1: in the past. I ain't. Then you tried to some
- 59:55Speaker 1: more information where he got a lot of women, she
- 59:58Speaker 1: told me, and that was in his past. Oh, it's
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: not a crazy it is now, Ain't no doubt. My
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: sister's a great catch for any man be looking to
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: have them. But I don't think this is the man
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: for her. Ain't I didn't say it. Haven't you given
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: some advice to someone that you knew was right? Somebody
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: told me that and they ignored it. Hello, yeah, boy,
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: that the twenties. Spent all my thirties straightening out my
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: damn twitter. Spent all of my thirties straightening out my twenties.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: Then I took all my farty do what I should
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: have done in my damn thing. But you got it together.
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: I got together. But you look up and now your
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: asses in a hurry. That's the truth, Steve, Man. You
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: wake up and you realize I ain't got time for
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: this no more. Yeah, but your sister and that because
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: you know why, And I'll explain it to you when
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: we come back. Because this is new generation, y'all, this
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: new generation of young people. They different. I'm gonna talk
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: to you about it. Okay, Well, we'll talk to it.
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: We'll talk about it when we get back. Yeah, all right.
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: We'll have part two of Steve's response coming up at
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: twenty three after the hour's subject, My past fling is
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: her new thing. Right after this. You're listening, all right, Steve,
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: Come on, Let's recap today's strawberry letter. My past fling
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: is her new thing. Let's happen. Well, just like she said,
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: this woman thirty years old, happily man. He was dating
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: this man ten years ago to have sexual affair. They
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: broke up, they stayed in touch with one another. She's
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: happily married now. Beautiful family runs up into the guy tomorrow.
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: They get to talking. All of a sudden, he tells
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: her he'd been hanging out with your sister. You tell
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: him you don't think that's cool. Why you mess me
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: with my sister. I don't want you to dating my sister.
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: He tells you, they ain't none of your damn business.
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: You go home, get your sister. Tell your sister, Hey,
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: I ran up in to him. Why don't you tell
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: me you had a new man? She said it was
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: going so good. She didn't want to jinx it. You
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: told her, Well, I got news for you. This man
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: ain't right for you. We say, have sex together. She
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: didn't have told you. She don't care. She don't care.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: You know why, man, because I've been watching these young people,
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: these young people nowadays. Man, they're a little bit different. Yeah,
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: they're from a generation of instant gratification. They think if
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: they instantly want it, they should instantly have it. Their
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: work ethic is very different from ours. What they're wanting
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: to put in to get out is very very different
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: from our. And they so readily, I think they so
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: readily forget a person's past because they're used to deleting stuff.
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: And I think, man, that they're so used to swipe
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: it right and swipe it left and deleting it that
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: that makes it go away. And so a person can
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: come to you and completely lie to you and tell
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: you they've completely changed, and you sit there because they're
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: telling it to you, and you're so gullible you go
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: for That's what did happened to this young girl with
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: this dude, I'm telling the things about me. She thinks
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: she got something her sister tried to tell her. But
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: you got a little trifling dude, man, because if he
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: was all in that, he wouldn't have told the sister,
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: I'm kicking it with your sister, and then when the
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: sister told him she don't want to mess with it,
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: he would have never told this woman. They ain't got
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: nothing to do with you, okay, if it ain't had
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: nothing to do with what you're telling me to it
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: for the guy's tricky, man, He's a tricky dude. And
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: the young girl can't see through this, but I can't,
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: So I don't know what to tell you. Telling your
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: mom and daddy ain't gonna change nothing, and don't keep
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: talking against it. Now. This is what I don't understand
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: that this is what you're afraid to do with girls.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: You be afraid to talk about the guy to them
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: because everybody always say that or make her run to
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: him and get closer. That ain't high dudes, dude, But
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: why is it? Why is that so with girls? Sure?
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: I never understood that. It's like, I don't know, it's
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: like defiance or something. You know, they're trying to show
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: you every they don't believe you. They believe this guy
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: because they're all, you know, mentally and emotionally into this guy.
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: They want him, you know, they don't want to hear
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: they reject you and run to the guy for whatever reason.
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: That's I mean, you know, it just makes them get
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: closer to that guy. I mean, that's just how it
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: happens with with with women. Yeah, and jealousy the one
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: I think that the other woman or what whoever's telling her,
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: you're just jealous and don't want to see me. Yeah,
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: you just don't want me to be with it. Wow, Yeah,
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: you just don't want me to be with him. That's crazy. No,
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: she trying to save you some pain. But I don't
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: understand that. Man, about this generation, what you had with
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: him is different. I'm not You're different. Yeah, it's differently. Yeah,
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: because all he said was he was hanging out with her.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: He told me that too, she said. The sister said
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: that that. You know that there it's more to it
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: than that. She thinks it's more to it than that.
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: She thinks he's a great catch. Yeah, and she you know,
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: they want to settle down and all of that, so
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: I don't know, hanging out. Yeah, she can't talk against
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: him though, because she wanted to change. They all say
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: they want to change. Yeah, they sank. Every last one
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: of us has said that he's just putting one notches
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: on his building, right, Yes, that's exactly. Yeah. I had
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: her and her sister, that's all. That's all this dude
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: doing mad yep. And he wanted to make sure that
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: the sister knew it. Yep. Yeah, she's got to stay
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: out of it. This is a lesson that her little
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: sister is going to have to learn, one of those
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: life lessons. And you know what, that's a damn shame show. Yeah,
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: it's got to happen. Yeah, it is because she's not
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: trying to hear what her sister sank. And the more
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: her sister said, the more she come back she has
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: you know, trust me, he ignorant enough, he'll go back
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: and try to go hit the big sister again to
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: trust me here. Wow, well, guess what you know with
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: a little sister she got her husband. Now I don't
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: when you come over here, yeah, get ready to hit it. Yeah,
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: when you come to hit it, okay, do it to
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: me first, right, yeah. Yeah. Some people learn the hard
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: way and some people never learn at all. But the
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: minute he messed over, who you think the first person
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: you gonna call him dead? Oh yeah, bixis yeah, big sis.
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: It really bugs you when you see a person blowing
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: it and tell you're blowing absolutely and they go down
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: that road anyway. Yeah, and you man, you know what
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: many times I wanted to say, hey, man, okay, just
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: try to warn you. Bro, I did not tell you. Yeah,
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: oh you thought you could change it. Oh you thought
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: because you you just gonna say this, it was gonna
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: be different. Nah yeah yeah, yeah, it's one of these
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: life lessons that's gonna happen. So yeah, that's why. Yeah,
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: that's why I said this. Big sisters just gonna have
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: to mind her own business and just be there for
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: you know, when when this falls, to be there for. Yeah, first,
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: be there and don't say I told you so another
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: just be there. Oh but I be won too though,
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: I told yeah, because his little sister thinks he's really
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: ready to settle down with a good woman. Now, girl,
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: you ain't gonna believe what happened. Yeah, I am, go ahead.
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: Let me get you caught him with somebody else, you know.

- 1:12:36Speaker 1: what's the biggest light you ever told? Tommy started off
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: my son, my oldest son. When he was younger, he
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: wanted to go to PG thirteen movies. Okay, okay, he
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: wanted to go to PG thirteen movies, and I would
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: be like, I always knew it was gonna be something
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: that he didn't need to see. So he didn't know,
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: but I would tell him, Hey, do you know what
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: PEG thirteen means? He's like no, I say that means
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: only thirteen people can go in the movie. So when
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: I when we would get there, I say, it's already
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: twelve people in there. We can't go in there. It's
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: too late. And he would be like, wow, we don't
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: never get him time enough to see any PG thirteen movies.
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: We're gonna have to go see a G movie. We're
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: gonna go see a Gee. We'd be all up in line, king,
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: We're not going to see HEG. Your mom ain't gonna
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: be mad at PG thirteen? All right, come on, what's
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: the biggest need to make sure that my mama ain't listening? Uhuh? Man.
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: I was at football sixteen years old, and my mama
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: let me take a truck to practice, and you know
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: I have to practice my boy getting the truck we're
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: driving back. I took my mama brand new blazing huh
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: and backed it and got it stuck on the side,
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: and then it the whole left side on a school bus. Ah.
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: My boys said, man, I can't let you go back
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: home with the truth. Huh, you got to say that
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: bust back then the youth boy, he said, you can't walking, Mama,
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: bread he got this tag still on it. It ain't
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: no license plate. Man. I walked in there, mom and said,
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: what happened to that? Trunck and my boys went to talk.
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: We was just butting up our seat best and they
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: didn't know a school bus hit us. Boy. My mama
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: bought that for about two months. Huh, about two months,
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: she said, She said, why you ain't getting no case? Right?
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: I got the ass I received that sixty I could.
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: I was fast after that. I ain't come on, Steve,
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: you've ever told last one? You got so many? He said,
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: I have an end of this pool to choose. I
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: was at ball my daddy station wagon one time. I
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: was taking his girl out on the date in my
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: church choir. But I wanted to be with it in
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: the car. And so what I did was I stopped
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: at the drugs there on Boston Ponds cold cream and
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: that was gonna trick me and the fellashues to you
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: back in the day, you put ponds cold cream on
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: the windows and make it. You know, you can't see
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: in the window. And uh, I put the ponds cold
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: cream on the windows. Or I got down there to
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: pick her up. And when I went and picked up
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: and she came and got in the car in the
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: station wag and I backed out. I couldn't see a
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: damn thing. And I hit my daddy's fender on the
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: fence and tote the head light out. I can't get
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: cream off no window boards. Yeah, the number you can
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: get ponds cold cream off the window, you can't get
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: it out the crack where the window meets the post.
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: You all right, thank you guys. Coming up at the
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: top of the hour, Freak Nick is back, baby. That's yes,
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: makes some plus the guys are here to talk about
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: the final four. We'll do all that right after this.
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: You're listening to show. Freak Nick is back. Guys. You
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: remember the annual spring break party that went down every
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: year from the early eighties to the late nineties in Atlanta.
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: I never went, always heard about it, though I heard. Yes,
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: Well it's back for the first time since being officially
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: banned that's how good it was. It was officially banned
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: back in twenty ten by Mayor Cassim Reid. Now, in
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: June twenty second, freak nick Uh will be given new life.
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: The concert will be in Lakewood and the lineup includes
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: Uncle Luke de Brat, Foxy Brown, Luke gonna be Hunt
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: de Brat's Wrap, Foxy Brown, Bunby, and Pastor Troy. Those
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: are all the so far the entertainers. Yeah. A publicist
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: says the vibe that this Freak nick will be the
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: same as in years pass, which was more about the
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: drinking and partying than anything else. And people think Freak
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: Nick they think party and chaos. That's not what we
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: want to do. We wanted to be a party, but
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: an all inclusive party. There will be no naked girls
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: running down the street on why is we going? Where
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: are we going? If they ain't gonna have with it? Well,
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: I mean, you know, you look at the lineup. Name
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: the lineup against Uncle Luke, Luke de Brat, Foxy Brown, Bunby,
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: and Pastor Troy. Now it's Pastor praying for this at
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: the end. Yeah. Those artists, those are like hip hop
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: artists from the nineties. Yeah, that's like our era. That's
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: not even the young folks era to go see that. Yeah,
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: they want Freaknick. Freaknick to be a family friendly thing,
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: wanted to be. No, the name got the conjurors up
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: the wrong activity. I'm surprised that this may letting that happen. Yeah,
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: that's no man, I'm telling you man. It was bad
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: for the city when he wasn't good for Freaknick. It
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: really wasn't. Would you say, Steve, there was nothing good
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: from freak Nick. Well, they it was horrible for the city.
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: It tied up traffic, it wasn't good for business. A
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: lot of business is closed because they didn't want that clientele.
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: And freak Nick was not good for the city of Atlanta.
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: Mayor Cassine Reid was spot on when he shut that down.
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: It just bought bad news. It was too many a rest. Well,
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: it was good, it was good for Why Why would
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: I don't want to do that? They said they wanted
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: to be fun and making something people look forward to
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: every year, like a funk fest. Well you got to
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: change your name. That comes with the connotation. It does,
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: and it comes to the negative one. What's a good name?
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: I don't know it ain't fret naked fist work naked
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: fist instead of you just gotta get that unity. It's
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: family oriented now. They got kids at freaking want. They
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: wanted to be family friendly now Tommy, they can't call
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: something freak nicky expected to be family friendly. Freak. Yeah,
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: I don't think this is a family event. I think
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: we need to change that. Let's just keep them kids
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: at home. We need to get some sitters, Let's do
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: something else. We don't need it. This ain't a cit
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: of time. This ain't he of time right now? So
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: are you going? Are you going? I'm gonna call Yeah,
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: I want to see Brad. Yeah, guess where we're going? Man, Man, well,
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: freak nick And as soon as I get a hat
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: big enough your head, you're going to, Oh, you're gonna
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: take yourn. I'm not going to know if I can't
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: get a hat on my auther head and don't nobody
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: know that's him we're going? How are they gonna know?
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: It's not anybody going to this foolishness? Man, This just
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: a bad idea though. It's real bad out difference concert though, Yeah,
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: it's just like a festival. Yeah, hl festival. You gotta
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: do something. You can't call it breakfast, you know. Yeah,
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: it's simple. Yeah, all right, Well maybe they'll debate about
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: that and change they make any sense. It's bad for
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: the city, man, I'm just telling you, I'm not being old.
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: Young people knew it wasn't good for the city. It's
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: not good for business. That was the image of the city.
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: The way they act at Free Nick was not what
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: you want young people to be about. It was it
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: was out of control, man, topless women, bottomless women just
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: on drop tops doing all kind of man. This was
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: some sodom and good that what the owner called it.
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: It was nothing good to come out. I don't gonna
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: be honest with you, man, I was actually ashamed. I
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: was ashamed of Free Nick man because I did know.
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: These are still my people. Oh yeah, And I don't
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: care how we are. We're the only race of people
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: that's responsible for the actions of one another. You know,
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: white people are not responsible for one another. If one
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: white guy do that, that's just him, a black dude
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: doing it. That's us. Why y'all, How come y'all don't
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: seem that y'all. No, man, Yeah, we're the only people
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: that's responsible for one of the others. I was gonna say,
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: we didn't live down there during it, but if they
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: just officially banded in twenty ten, we were there, Sure,
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: Yeah we were. I was too. I wasn't at that
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: weekend though. I just stayed on outside of two eighty five. Yeah,
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: they closed Linux, Mall yeah, come on, man, A ball
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: is supposed to be that's the time to make money,
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: super Bowl. I know, maybe they just need to change
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: the name because it just sounds like a concert fest
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: of all. It sounds like the reason may have conside
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: stopped it officially banded. It's a family function. Now. I
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: like Solomon Babylon, Babylon, that brain store. I'm trying to
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: make it work. They don't like nake it fast. So
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: let's see where we got here. Come on, man, man,
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: anybody else for Babylon. No, keep trying family function? That
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: time before to Apple? How about before to appleby Nick?
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: All Right, I give up, I give up. All right,
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: we're gonna talk about Yeah, we we're gonna talk about
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: the final four. But um, I can't believe that. You guys,

- 1:24:06Speaker 1: type of final fol we got here. That's good though,

- 1:27:36Speaker 1: all right, guys, thank you. We'll be back on that. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: we gotta go. I had one, but we gotta get
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: out of your time. I will be back with more

- 1:29:03Speaker 1: I've been Uh, I was talking, I was talking about

- 1:29:53Speaker 1: new man in her life. And yes there is, because
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: she has announced that she's expecting her second child. It's
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: a boy. Def Jam Records exact. Alexander A. E. Edwards, congratulations.
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: Amber Rose posted a picture of her baby bump on Instagram.
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: She also said her son Sebastian, the one she had
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: with Wiz Khalifa when they were married. She said, he's
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: so happy to be a big brother. That's good. And
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: Whiz Khalifa says he's happy for her. What else was
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: going to say? Well, I mean your ex canna say whatever.
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: It depends on what kind of relationship they have. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: have you seen the Whiz Khalifa commercial and the Oreo
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: commercial with the son? That's really secute. Yeah, Sebastian, his
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: son so cute, so cute. I love you. Yeah, really cute.
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: I know you haven't seen it, Steve, Yeah, seen what
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: the Whiz Khalifa Oreo commercial with his son Tobut? Oh yeah,

- 1:30:52Speaker 1: that's really really father and son time. You could see

- 1:31:08Speaker 1: Or why and his son? Yeah, like we isn't his
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: son fine? As they can't squeeze out of no time
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: because you're selling out all these shows. Oh good answer, Steve. Oh,
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: I don't even know how to dress. All right, we'll
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: be back with the last break of the day and
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: close out the show with some closing remarks from Steve
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: Harvey right after this. You're listening, all right, Steve. Here
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: we are last break of the day on this Friday. Uh,
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: let's have some closing remarks. Come on. Here's what I
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: was thinking. I was talking with Junior earlier today in
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: my dressing room. He came in and we were just talking,
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: and you know, we were talking about just life. It
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: was somebody else's an address room. They asking man, what
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: was them? What was What was a couple of big
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: things that happened in your life? And I was thinking
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: about when I was about twenty years old, twenty one, Yeah,
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: about twenty one, I got into Amway, and Amway was
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: a big moment in my life because they used to
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: have these conventions that you had to pay this money
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: to go to. And I was trying to be a
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: direct distributor in a diamond and an Emerald and all
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: of that, and George and Don Hale and they were
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: making so much money and living these wonderful lives Bill
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: Britt and all these people, and I was going, Wow, man,
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: I gotta do that. So I went to a couple
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: of the conferences. There's a lot of rale raw, but
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: it really positive. Though. They turned me onto two books. Now,
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: nothing is more powerful than the Bible. There's nothing out
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: there comes close to this Bible. Whatever your religious reading is,
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: the Torol, the Qoran. That that's what I mean when
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: I say that. But they turn me onto two books
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: to change my life. It was two books. It was
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: the Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peel and
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: the Magic of Thinking Big by David Schwartz. Now, the
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: first book I had read, the ever self help book
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: I ever read, was The Power of Positive Thinking by
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: Norman Vincent Peel. And I gotta tell you something. That
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: book is still for sale today. If you've never read that,
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: you should, because it teaches you how to train your
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: mind to think positively. It shows you the power that
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: you can unleash in your own self. This is something
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: you can control. The power of your mind is controlled
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: and operates at its absolute peak performance when it's operating
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: from positivity. You can't beat yourself off when you're being
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: positive not negative positive. That book The Power of Positive
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale began to change my life.
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: That took a while for me to connect all the dots,
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: but it started me along the way. I didn't know
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: that I could do it all the time, even when
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: I was feeling dark and gloomy and down, that I
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: could fix it myself. I had to learn that a
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: little bit later on. But you can absolutely fix yourself
- 1:34:33Speaker 1: with the power of positive thinking. That book changed my life.
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: It taught me that these positive thoughts generate positive results. Period.
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: Negative thoughts generate negative results. If your idea of making
- 1:34:51Speaker 1: money is selling doping robbing banks, the result from that
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: of selling doping robbing banks can be nothing but negative.
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: Somebody gonna try to hurt you, you go into prison.
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: That's it. Period. Now, when you think positively, positive things
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: start to come your way. Not to say that nothing
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: bad will ever happen again, because it will, but let's
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: be real. Life is gonna keep coming, but you can
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: handle it. You can deal with it, and if you
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: have a positive outlook, you'll get through that too. And
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: behind every dog cloud there is really really a silver lining.
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: So that was the first book The second book is
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: called The Magic of Thinking Big by David Schwartz. Oh
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: my goodness, now, let me tell you what this book
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: did for me. This book changed my life because it
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: told me about the magic of thinking big, that it
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: requires no more brain power to think big than it
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: does small. You don't have to conjure up any more
- 1:35:59Speaker 1: brain in sale, no more units to say Volkswagen, rolls Royce.
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: They both take the same amount of effort. You can
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: order the food the same way. I'm all to sell it.
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: I'm all the chicklings. It don't take no more brain
- 1:36:17Speaker 1: power to think bigger. It's simply a mindset. Now, the
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: combination of these two books really was a game changer
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: for me. And I'm saying it to y'all because sometimes
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: I like reading stuff outside of the Bible. I just
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: really do, just being real with you now, because I
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: like hearing relatable things with today's language in and stuff
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: like that. It just helps me. But both of these books,
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: I'm telling you, man was written from basis of the Bible,
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: and it brings just one scripture to mind, that a
- 1:36:53Speaker 1: man is as he thinking. That's subscripture. We'll check this out.
- 1:37:00Speaker 1: The power of positive thinking is directly related to how
- 1:37:06Speaker 1: a man thinks. So once again the Bible is right.
- 1:37:10Speaker 1: A man is as he thinking. The next book the
- 1:37:13Speaker 1: magic of thinking big. Guess what the scripture says, get
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: a man is as he thinking. So if you're thinking
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: positive and you're thinking big, guess what happens to you?
- 1:37:26Speaker 1: You suddenly can become a very positive, big person. Hello,
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: ding ding ding ding ding. The damn bails ought to
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: be going off, folks. Success is a mindset. And let
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: me just throw this in. That's what my Vault conference
