- 0:01Speaker 1: You know, Bet, I will say this seriously. I'm beginning
- 0:04Speaker 1: to wonder whether we're about to have something inner popular culture,
- 0:07Speaker 1: which is a new euphemism of oyster farming. You know,
- 0:11Speaker 1: what is my scoundrel husband doing. Oh, he's oyster farming.
- 0:15Speaker 1: I mean, this guy has a potential to like set
- 0:18Speaker 1: a term that is going to last well beyond the
- 0:20Speaker 1: main Senate race. And if Saturday Night Live actually did comedy,
- 0:24Speaker 1: they would have an entire skin on oyster farming like
- 0:27Speaker 1: it fries out voice.
- 0:28Speaker 2: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Good Tuesday morning. It's nice to have you with us
- 0:34Speaker 3: on the forty seven Morning Update. Many of you have
- 0:37Speaker 3: asked me why exactly Grand Platner is such a controversial candidate.
- 0:42Speaker 4: Well, in Maine, you.
- 0:43Speaker 3: Need to know, especially what he's all about, and I
- 0:46Speaker 3: hope all of you will share it. We've got a
- 0:49Speaker 3: top list of the fourteen things you need to know
- 0:52Speaker 3: about grand Platner. It's a forty seven Morning Update and
- 0:55Speaker 3: it starts right now.
- 0:57Speaker 4: Story number one.
- 0:58Speaker 3: We're going to start with Maine's front running democrat, the
- 1:02Speaker 3: US senicnic Graham Nazi tattoo Platner. Here's a man that
- 1:08Speaker 3: Democrats have just completely been infatuated with, and the corporate
- 1:13Speaker 3: media they love him. They don't care what he does,
- 1:15Speaker 3: they don't care about his background, they don't care about
- 1:16Speaker 3: his history, they don't care about the scandals until the
- 1:19Speaker 3: last twenty four hours. Why for one reason, because he's
- 1:23Speaker 3: a Democrat. And if you say you're a Democrat, you
- 1:25Speaker 3: can do and be and just about anything you want. Right,
- 1:29Speaker 3: you don't even have to know what a man is
- 1:30Speaker 3: or what a woman is. The Democrats will stand by you.
- 1:33Speaker 3: The more radical you actually are. The corporate media will
- 1:37Speaker 3: also stand by you, unless the Democratic Party tells you
- 1:41Speaker 3: that then we need to turn on him. We saw
- 1:44Speaker 3: this happen in California with Eric Swalwell. Right, California love
- 1:49Speaker 3: the guy, the Democratic Party love the guy. Then all
- 1:52Speaker 3: of a sudden he might lose and a Republican might win.
- 1:55Speaker 3: And what they do They used all of the dirt
- 1:57Speaker 3: they knew about him, they protect him from, to then
- 1:59Speaker 3: take him down. Well, we're now living in a world
- 2:02Speaker 3: where that same media that created this individual, this Nazi
- 2:07Speaker 3: tattoo guy, may actually look to destroy him or maybe not.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Why because well, even the Obamas seem to be trying
- 2:16Speaker 3: to help behind the scenes. Now, let's just go through
- 2:20Speaker 3: the list, all right. If you look at the list
- 2:23Speaker 3: of things that this individual has done, if Mike count
- 2:26Speaker 3: is correct, now it's at fourteen different scandals, all right,
- 2:30Speaker 3: So let's start with number one. And I hope, by
- 2:33Speaker 3: the way, all of you will take this information, and
- 2:36Speaker 3: I hope you will share it wherever you can. I
- 2:38Speaker 3: hope that not only will you share it, but share
- 2:40Speaker 3: the podcast, put it anywhere you can on social media.
- 2:43Speaker 4: So let's start at number one.
- 2:45Speaker 3: This is a guy who had tattooed on his chest
- 2:50Speaker 3: a Nazi SS tattoo and he said that he didn't
- 2:54Speaker 3: know what it was, but he had the tattoo for
- 2:56Speaker 3: eighteen years. Now you may not know about Nazi SS
- 3:01Speaker 3: and exactly what they did. Like you can almost go
- 3:05Speaker 3: even further then, just like there's generic Nazis in Germany
- 3:09Speaker 3: and then there's the SS.
- 3:11Speaker 4: What did the SS do well?
- 3:13Speaker 3: They were the major paramilitary organization under Hitler and the
- 3:18Speaker 3: Nazi Party in Germany. And these were the guys that
- 3:22Speaker 3: began as a small guard unit known as the Hall Security.
- 3:26Speaker 3: They were made up of party volunteers. Then they got
- 3:28Speaker 3: even worse. Right, They're like, all right, we start you
- 3:30Speaker 3: there now. The SS was the foremost agency on security,
- 3:35Speaker 3: mass surveillance, and state terrorism within Germany and Germany occupied Europe.
- 3:41Speaker 3: What's even more interesting about the SS, all right, and
- 3:44Speaker 3: how hardcore these guys were, is they were in charge
- 3:47Speaker 3: of the concentration camps.
- 3:49Speaker 4: Right.
- 3:49Speaker 3: They were the ones that were referred to as the
- 3:52Speaker 3: deaths head units.
- 3:54Speaker 4: All right.
- 3:55Speaker 3: They ran the concentration camps, and then they ran the
- 3:58Speaker 3: extermination camps. So if you want to be a Nazi,
- 4:02Speaker 3: that's one thing you want to level up and say,
- 4:03Speaker 3: oh no, no, I want to go pro with my tattoos.
- 4:06Speaker 3: I don't just want to swatskad No, no, I want
- 4:08Speaker 3: an SS tattoo.
- 4:09Speaker 4: Then you are like, all right, well, here we go.
- 4:12Speaker 3: I'm a concentration extermination camp kind of got. They were
- 4:16Speaker 3: also tasked with detecting actual or potential enemies of Nazi Germany.
- 4:21Speaker 3: They were in charge of neutralizing the oppression at all costs.
- 4:25Speaker 3: And then they were also policing the German people and
- 4:28Speaker 3: they would kill them if they thought you were getting
- 4:30Speaker 3: out of line. They were committed to quote Nazi ideology
- 4:35Speaker 3: and then providing domestic and foreign intelligence. Now the SS,
- 4:39Speaker 3: and again I go back because I think it's important
- 4:41Speaker 3: to understand why he chose this tattoo. The SS was
- 4:46Speaker 3: the organization most responsible for the genocidal murder of an
- 4:51Speaker 3: estimated six million Jews and millions of other victims during
- 4:56Speaker 3: the holocausts Now, members of its branches not only committed
- 5:00Speaker 3: war crimes and crimes against humanity during World War Two,
- 5:04Speaker 3: we now know through history that the SS was also
- 5:07Speaker 3: involved in commercial enterprises and exploited concentration camp inmates as
- 5:12Speaker 3: their slave labors. They could even make cash off of
- 5:15Speaker 3: them before they then exterminated them. Now, as after Nazi
- 5:19Speaker 3: Germany's defeat, the SS and the Nazi Party were judged
- 5:23Speaker 3: by the international military tribunals at Nuremberg.
- 5:25Speaker 4: There's a great movie about it, you can go see
- 5:27Speaker 4: it right now.
- 5:29Speaker 3: And what we learn is the highest ranking surviving SS
- 5:33Speaker 3: Main Department chief was found guilty of not only crimes
- 5:36Speaker 3: against humanity at the Nuremberg trials, but he was also
- 5:39Speaker 3: hanged in nineteen eighty six. So, if you're going to
- 5:42Speaker 3: get a tattoo, and you decide to go with the
- 5:46Speaker 3: SS insignia a tattoo instead of just you know the Nazi.
- 5:49Speaker 4: You know, you know Swasika tattoo.
- 5:52Speaker 3: You clearly understand that, you're like on another level of
- 5:57Speaker 3: understanding what a Nazi is, right, And so this is
- 6:01Speaker 3: the tattoo that he chose. Now, of course he lied.
- 6:05Speaker 3: He's like, Oh, I didn't know what it was, are
- 6:06Speaker 3: you kidding me? Of course you knew what it was,
- 6:08Speaker 3: and that's why you got it. So that is the
- 6:11Speaker 3: baseline for who he is. So let's move on to
- 6:14Speaker 3: something else. We also know that he has an account
- 6:17Speaker 3: on a what has been described by The New York
- 6:19Speaker 3: Times a predator sex site called Kick.
- 6:23Speaker 4: He's married, everybody knows that.
- 6:25Speaker 3: But this site is a site that is for child exportation,
- 6:29Speaker 3: underage sexual encounters, and child pornography.
- 6:34Speaker 4: That is what's there. You can go read the New
- 6:36Speaker 4: York Times on this.
- 6:37Speaker 3: So not only do we have a Naziss death's head
- 6:40Speaker 3: tattoo that he had for eighteen years, now he's like, oh,
- 6:44Speaker 3: I'm going to get on this website that is a
- 6:47Speaker 3: predator's safe haven for underage exploiting of children and child pornography.
- 6:55Speaker 3: We then find out, no surprise, that there's explicit sexting
- 6:59Speaker 3: or sex texts from with about a half a dozen
- 7:02Speaker 3: women in twenty twenty three, after he got married about
- 7:05Speaker 3: a year earlier. Moved past that real quick, disparage all
- 7:09Speaker 3: black people as a population that doesn't tip. Yes, he
- 7:12Speaker 3: actually has it on social media where he was out
- 7:14Speaker 3: there and he was talking they saying that black people
- 7:17Speaker 3: don't tip. That is what you refer to as racism.
- 7:20Speaker 3: One oh one. The Democratic Party apparently has no problem
- 7:24Speaker 3: within disparaging all black people as a population, saying that
- 7:29Speaker 3: all black people don't tip. Number five, he blamed sexual
- 7:34Speaker 3: assault victims for being sexually assaulted. Now you may look
- 7:39Speaker 3: at that and you go, hold on a second, what
- 7:40Speaker 3: do you actually mean by that? All right, you know what,
- 7:42Speaker 3: it's a great question. Graham Platner says sexual assault victims
- 7:46Speaker 3: should take some responsibility in Reddit post that he had
- 7:51Speaker 3: throughout the years he made the disturbing comments about sexual
- 7:55Speaker 3: assault victims. Where then, and of course, of course he
- 7:58Speaker 3: deleted them right right before he launch his campaign. But
- 8:01Speaker 3: we had the they had the data, They had them
- 8:04Speaker 3: like it's there. We know it's there in a discussion.
- 8:07Speaker 3: But what's interesting is he said that assault victims should
- 8:10Speaker 3: take some responsibility for themselves to avoid attacks and act
- 8:13Speaker 3: like an adult for effing's sake.
- 8:16Speaker 4: He said people should.
- 8:17Speaker 3: Avoid alcohols they don't end up in a compromising situation,
- 8:21Speaker 3: and then downplay the challenges service members face and reporting
- 8:24Speaker 3: sexual assault. So he's like, look, if you got raped
- 8:27Speaker 3: in your chick and you got you and you drank,
- 8:30Speaker 3: that's on you. And so I don't really care, and
- 8:34Speaker 3: signed I guess, you know, Hale Hitler like, I guess
- 8:36Speaker 3: that's how this works. Now, Now, these these comments came
- 8:40Speaker 3: on the hills of a similar Reddit posts where that
- 8:42Speaker 3: were uncovered, which included Platner saying people who live in
- 8:45Speaker 3: rural Maine actually are racist and stupid. He also is
- 8:49Speaker 3: promoting violent political actions, including saying an armed working class
- 8:54Speaker 3: as a requirement for economic justice. He said, deeming all
- 8:58Speaker 3: police bastards and f these cops. So now we found
- 9:02Speaker 3: out he's against police. He was promoting racist stereotypes by questioning, quote,
- 9:08Speaker 3: why don't black people tip quote unquote I mentioned that
- 9:11Speaker 3: a moment ago, and then using slurs and telling people
- 9:15Speaker 3: to f off and die when asked about a recent
- 9:17Speaker 3: vote against a power line in Maine. Now, these are
- 9:21Speaker 3: just some of the big things that he said online.
- 9:25Speaker 3: So let's let's just, you know, move past that for
- 9:28Speaker 3: a second. I'm going to go out in a limb
- 9:30Speaker 3: and say, hey, if you started attacking or smearing or
- 9:35Speaker 3: mocking the LGBTQIA plus plus plus population as a Democrat
- 9:42Speaker 3: in Maine, like, that's got to get you in trouble,
- 9:44Speaker 3: right like Scott to be apparently not today. Quote I
- 9:48Speaker 3: find that stuff abhorrent. That is what Platner told The Advocate,
- 9:53Speaker 3: and I'm sorry that I ever used it, referencing he
- 9:57Speaker 3: and admitting he used indefensible anti gay slurs and his
- 10:01Speaker 3: other Reddit posts. They even say in this Advocate dot
- 10:06Speaker 3: com story, quote, a progressive US Senate candidate in Maine,
- 10:11Speaker 3: who has already apologized for earlier misogynistic and racially insensitive
- 10:15Speaker 3: remarks and said that he did not realize that tattoo
- 10:18Speaker 3: in his chest resembled a Nazi SS emblem is again
- 10:21Speaker 3: under scrutiny, this time for anti LGBTQ plus comments. In
- 10:26Speaker 3: an interview on Wednesday afternoon, The Advocate Graham, a forty
- 10:30Speaker 3: one year old Marine an Army veteran running in Main's
- 10:33Speaker 3: Democratic primary, seeking to become the nominated challenge Republican US
- 10:37Speaker 3: Inersusan Collins confirmed that he offered a series of Reddit
- 10:41Speaker 3: comments and included homophobic slurs, anti LGBTQ plus jokes and
- 10:46Speaker 3: sexually explicit stories denigrating gay men. The existence of the
- 10:52Speaker 3: comments posted under the handle p Hustle between twenty sixteen
- 10:56Speaker 3: and twenty twenty one, meaning he did this a lot.
- 10:58Speaker 3: All Right I previously been reported on. The Advocate obtained
- 11:03Speaker 3: the post independently this week. The revelation comes on the
- 11:06Speaker 3: same day Platner are scheduled to hold the town hall
- 11:08Speaker 3: in one part of the state, a seaside resort long
- 11:12Speaker 3: known as New England's most prominent LGBTQ plus destinations featuring
- 11:17Speaker 3: a thriving gay community and pride celebrations that draw visits
- 11:20Speaker 3: from across the region.
- 11:22Speaker 4: Quote.
- 11:23Speaker 3: I have zero reason deny that the posts are mine,
- 11:25Speaker 3: Platner said in a zoom interview. I made a lot
- 11:28Speaker 3: of comments over the years and talked a lot of
- 11:30Speaker 3: blank on the Internet. I have no reason to doubt
- 11:33Speaker 3: that at some point I use language that I would
- 11:35Speaker 3: not be using today. He paused and then added its indefensible.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Now these posts that were obtained by The Advocate, all
- 11:43Speaker 3: Right says they unearthed them and show a pattern of
- 11:45Speaker 3: homophobic language and rhetoric that mocked and demeaned.
- 11:49Speaker 4: The LGBTQ plus people.
- 11:51Speaker 3: In some cases, Platner appeared to use slurs casually in
- 11:54Speaker 3: discussions unrelated to sexuality. In others, he explicitly framed gay
- 11:59Speaker 3: people as the punchline. In June twenty sixteen, Platner wrote
- 12:03Speaker 3: in a thread about life on military guard duties, saying no,
- 12:06Speaker 3: seriously flog the blankers as often as possible, write gay
- 12:11Speaker 3: poetry about how gay your current job is. Congratulations, you
- 12:15Speaker 3: made it through one shift. Now do it all again
- 12:18Speaker 3: in twelve hours. Welcome to the world of standing posts,
- 12:21Speaker 3: where sanity is a sliding scale quote unquote. In March
- 12:25Speaker 3: twenty eighteen, two years later, he wasn't done. He recounted
- 12:28Speaker 3: explicit detail. What he described is a quote gay off
- 12:32Speaker 3: between Marines and British sailors and Bahrain pull into by
- 12:35Speaker 3: Rain and seven at Amu, a Royal Navy submarine, happens
- 12:39Speaker 3: to be imported at the same time. Before we even
- 12:41Speaker 3: realize what's going on, the other weird blinkers just leaned
- 12:45Speaker 3: down and licked the blank from the bottom of the
- 12:48Speaker 3: blank all the way up to the blank stand up
- 12:51Speaker 3: look dead at us and yelled beat that I probably
- 12:54Speaker 3: withdrew our team on the grounds that one cannot play
- 12:57Speaker 3: gay chicken if one is actually gay.
- 13:00Speaker 4: This is what he wrote online.
- 13:02Speaker 3: Now you would think that these explicit posts, and by
- 13:05Speaker 3: the way, there's some in eighteen and nineteen and twenty
- 13:07Speaker 3: and twenty one, and even in twenty twenty two the Advocate,
- 13:12Speaker 3: which is obviously advocate advocating for gay lesbian communities.
- 13:16Speaker 4: They write all this stuff.
- 13:18Speaker 3: But apparently it was just to help him get it
- 13:20Speaker 3: out there and we'll move on. So that doesn't even
- 13:24Speaker 3: disqualify him from being the Democratic nominee.
- 13:27Speaker 4: Number eight.
- 13:29Speaker 3: He promoted an alleged Holocaust denier on social media. So
- 13:33Speaker 3: not only is this guy wearing an SS tattoo right
- 13:37Speaker 3: the death head tattoo and then claims it know what
- 13:40Speaker 3: it is, but he also has a Holocaust denier, someone
- 13:43Speaker 3: who believes the Holocaust never happened. On social media. He
- 13:48Speaker 3: also and if you have kids ear muffs, all right,
- 13:51Speaker 3: that's my warning. He actually bragged online about masturbating in
- 13:56Speaker 3: public portapottis. Yes, those were his words. I'm sure he
- 14:00Speaker 3: will tell you. Don't worry. I wouldn't say that. Now,
- 14:04Speaker 3: are Democrats ashamed of this being their candidate. Nope, they're
- 14:07Speaker 3: still standing by him even with the Porta Potti comments.
- 14:11Speaker 4: So now like, surely that's it. Nope, that's not all Graham.
- 14:16Speaker 3: Platner also mocked a purple Heart recipient as a dumb
- 14:20Speaker 3: mfor who didn't deserve to live, and then double down
- 14:25Speaker 3: on the comments when he was asked about it.
- 14:28Speaker 4: So doesn't believe he did anything wrong.
- 14:30Speaker 3: Doesn't think you that it's wrong to mock a purple
- 14:32Speaker 3: Heart recipient and saying that the mffort didn't deserve to live.
- 14:38Speaker 4: Interesting.
- 14:39Speaker 3: He also encourage military contractors to bang hookers in Thailand.
- 14:47Speaker 4: Yeah, giving details that.
- 14:48Speaker 3: You guys got to go out there and you know,
- 14:50Speaker 3: you should just bang some of them hookers. Yes, he
- 14:54Speaker 3: actually once lamented Thai prostitute loophol closing. The Democrat a
- 15:00Speaker 3: candidate in Maine complained of a loophole that closing that
- 15:04Speaker 3: permitted military contractors to have relations with Thailand prostitutes under
- 15:09Speaker 3: the name p Ussel.
- 15:11Speaker 4: The Democratic candidate.
- 15:12Speaker 3: Platner reportedly wrote on a Reddit post in June of
- 15:14Speaker 3: nineteen the military contactors could spend their time banging hookers
- 15:18Speaker 3: in Thailand instead of getting blanked.
- 15:21Speaker 4: At the wife back by the wife.
- 15:23Speaker 3: Back home, spending your lead banging hookers in Thailand instead
- 15:27Speaker 3: of getting bhstat by the wife at home, and you
- 15:32Speaker 3: could sell it as avoiding federal income tax.
- 15:36Speaker 4: Platner wrote.
- 15:38Speaker 3: Once the Afghan start using our paychecks as a personal
- 15:40Speaker 3: piggy bank, the whole loophole disappeared. Platner admitted to using
- 15:44Speaker 3: the handle after The Made Monitor reported about his Reddit posts.
- 15:50Speaker 4: There it is, it's I mean, it's it's incredible, it is.
- 15:53Speaker 4: It's truly incredible.
- 15:54Speaker 3: Now you would think that would be enough, right for
- 15:57Speaker 3: the Democrats to say, Okay, like we got to like
- 16:00Speaker 3: this guy, can't be the guy.
- 16:01Speaker 4: Nope, keep going. He also called the.
- 16:05Speaker 3: Virgin Mary a skink, Yes, a skink. The Democrat candidate
- 16:14Speaker 3: refer to Jesus also as a zombie. The Virgin Mary
- 16:18Speaker 3: is a skank in a Reddit post from twenty twelve.
- 16:22Speaker 3: That is this man so he hates Christians, he hates Jesus,
- 16:25Speaker 3: he hates Mary, and this is the perfect guy for
- 16:29Speaker 3: the Democratic Party. He also got a dui, not that
- 16:33Speaker 3: anyone cares. Right inside Graham Platner's controversial rise another article
- 16:38Speaker 3: talking about his dui, but It's totally fine, not a
- 16:41Speaker 3: problem at all. Right, He's just you know, sometimes you
- 16:43Speaker 3: gotta go out there and you got to you know,
- 16:44Speaker 3: get a dui. And finally the newest thing, he appeared
- 16:49Speaker 3: on an anti Semites podcast who says the Jews killed Kennedy.
- 16:57Speaker 4: Now, this is just what we know.
- 17:00Speaker 3: What's even more shocking is he's still ahead in the polls,
- 17:04Speaker 3: which tells me something very clearly. The Democratic Party is solace.
- 17:09Speaker 3: They only care about power, they only care about controlling you.
- 17:14Speaker 3: They only care about winning, and if it takes a
- 17:18Speaker 3: guy like this to do it or cover up for him,
- 17:20Speaker 3: they're totally fine with it.
