- 1:33Speaker 1: friend um Houston, Texas. That's where I'm from. That's why,
- 1:37Speaker 1: That's why I met him at the Super Bowl. And
- 1:39Speaker 1: I don't really mean I just saw. I saw this
- 1:41Speaker 1: young brother cover from the back of the room performing man,
- 1:43Speaker 1: and uh, he just took my spirit in a good way.
- 1:47Speaker 1: And I've been a fan of his and I've been
- 1:48Speaker 1: blessed to have him on my show, Money Making Chris
- 1:51Speaker 1: Money Making Conversation. And his name is Locraiz The Crave

- 2:50Speaker 1: him Man Experience for a new six part YouTube series,
- 2:54Speaker 1: Protect the Bag, Protect the Bag, teaching his fans and everybody,
- 2:59Speaker 1: even if you're not a fan, how to establish a
- 3:01Speaker 1: financial legacy. In other words, it's all about man closing
- 3:05Speaker 1: that wealth gap that is existing between blacks and particularly whites,
- 3:09Speaker 1: people of color, in particular whites. That's what this is about,
- 3:12Speaker 1: and holding on and protecting the ways you can improve
- 3:16Speaker 1: your credit score, which is the basis of how you
- 3:18Speaker 1: can just succeed in life. The new series debated over
- 3:21Speaker 1: the night. Second series aired last Tuesday, and with premiere
- 3:25Speaker 1: new episodes each Tuesday at seven pm Eastern Standard Time
- 3:28Speaker 1: through December four. Please welcome to My Money Making Conversation
- 3:31Speaker 1: again the Craiz doing the Craig's going on here, Man,
- 3:37Speaker 1: appreciate having all the time, Crez. You know. You know
- 3:40Speaker 1: it's because we've we've had some dramatic good moments on
- 3:43Speaker 1: the show, you know, so this is gonna be one
- 3:46Speaker 1: of the first time we're gonna be up to have fun,
- 3:48Speaker 1: you know. And because your books, man, are always motivating,
- 3:51Speaker 1: but they're also so honest, man, because you so authentic
- 3:54Speaker 1: in you and I won't use the word deep, but
- 3:56Speaker 1: you're just telling the truth. And sometimes when you tell
- 3:58Speaker 1: the truth, it doesn't always have a smile on it.
- 4:01Speaker 1: So why why, that's why why is there so much
- 4:04Speaker 1: that high level of authenticity when you're telling stories, especially
- 4:08Speaker 1: the written word. You know what it is? I think
- 4:12Speaker 1: I want people to experience freedom, and sometimes, you know,
- 4:18Speaker 1: you gotta show off your scars for other people to
- 4:21Speaker 1: realize that healing is possible. So so I want to
- 4:23Speaker 1: be vulnerable so people can see like, oh, those are
- 4:26Speaker 1: some of the wrong terms you made, so I don't
- 4:29Speaker 1: have to make them, you know, and then they can
- 4:31Speaker 1: make the right terms. And that's how we grow, and
- 4:33Speaker 1: that's how we learn. Well, I know that I've learned.
- 4:36Speaker 1: I always tell people I wake up dumb. I tell
- 4:39Speaker 1: people I wake up dumb. So I can be willing
- 4:42Speaker 1: to accept information because you wake up thinking you know
- 4:45Speaker 1: it all. Then guess what, you ignore the the truth
- 4:48Speaker 1: a lot of ways because you you feel that I
- 4:50Speaker 1: got that. You've heard that phrase, well I got that,
- 4:52Speaker 1: I got that. The people wave you off and that
- 4:54Speaker 1: can be a mistake a lot of times because a
- 4:56Speaker 1: lot of people can provide information and you've always, through
- 4:58Speaker 1: your music for been an outlet for information, uh, whether
- 5:02Speaker 1: it's on tour, whether it's in your lyrics, whether it
- 5:06Speaker 1: is as a mentor. Talk about that responsibility in the
- 5:09Speaker 1: Craize because it takes you down emotionally a little bit,
- 5:12Speaker 1: because we've been there on our interviews how I can
- 5:14Speaker 1: take you down. But that's a responsibility you're not running from, right, No,
- 5:19Speaker 1: I mean you know, I just know what it's like
- 5:21Speaker 1: to not have those mentors, to not have those voices
- 5:23Speaker 1: to help me when I'm navigating stuff. And so if
- 5:26Speaker 1: I can help people avoid those pitfalls, then then I
- 5:29Speaker 1: want to do it. And plus that's just part of
- 5:31Speaker 1: being a leader. That's that's part of you know, the
- 5:35Speaker 1: mantle that I wear. You know. Uh, everybody says, well,
- 5:38Speaker 1: I ain't no leader. You're a leaders if you if
- 5:40Speaker 1: you ahead of somebody, if somebody's behind you, with somebody's
- 5:43Speaker 1: following you leading whether you want to or not, So
- 5:45Speaker 1: somebody's always watching you, so you're always leading. So it's
- 5:48Speaker 1: just you know, for me, it's like, all right, well
- 5:50Speaker 1: let me just take responsibility and uh and just try
- 5:53Speaker 1: to help people so that that they're seiling, my ceiling
- 5:56Speaker 1: is their floor, right. You know. The interesting thing about
- 5:59Speaker 1: it when I look at the Craig, because I'm a
- 6:01Speaker 1: former entertainer, you know, like left IBM pursue the careers
- 6:06Speaker 1: of standard comedian. So I've been on stage in front
- 6:08Speaker 1: of twenty thousand people, I've been on stage in front
- 6:10Speaker 1: of five thousand people, four thousand, three hundred people. There's
- 6:13Speaker 1: a certain rush you get when you get that. And
- 6:16Speaker 1: now that he's a businessman, there's a certain rush he's
- 6:18Speaker 1: getting for that. But it's not like what I saw
- 6:21Speaker 1: when I saw him in Houston, texta that that artist
- 6:24Speaker 1: that captivated my spirit and I didn't even know who
- 6:27Speaker 1: you were. Man, So fueling that live performance energy that
- 6:33Speaker 1: you get there and now being a business person, how
- 6:35Speaker 1: you're navigating both emotions. Look Craiz that you know what
- 6:39Speaker 1: it is. And I just like winning. You know, everybody's
- 6:42Speaker 1: addicted to winning and conquering something and seeing something in
- 6:45Speaker 1: front of you, and you know, having a vision, having
- 6:48Speaker 1: a dream and being able to accomplish it. You know,
- 6:51Speaker 1: I like accomplishing goals and so uh, when you're connected
- 6:55Speaker 1: with a person through music, you feel like you're accomplishing
- 6:57Speaker 1: the goal. And at the same time, when you make
- 6:59Speaker 1: a business decision or strategy and you see it work,
- 7:01Speaker 1: you felt like you're accomplishing the goal. And so that
- 7:03Speaker 1: that's that's the part that's addictive and inspiring for me.
- 7:07Speaker 1: You know the fun part about it when people come
- 7:09Speaker 1: on my show, because you know, I I do my research.
- 7:12Speaker 1: You know that people will send me a little bit over.
- 7:14Speaker 1: I want to because I think that the word people
- 7:17Speaker 1: to use is your flowers, you know, showing you your
- 7:19Speaker 1: blessings and so so because a lot of times we
- 7:22Speaker 1: just grind. Because you're a grinder, I know, that for
- 7:24Speaker 1: a fact. Every time I talk to you, grinding like
- 7:26Speaker 1: to you grinding with experience right now, we protect the bag,
- 7:29Speaker 1: you know, and then next time I talk to you're
- 7:31Speaker 1: gonna be it might be the third book we're talking about,
- 7:33Speaker 1: might be acting in other of a series, because that's
- 7:36Speaker 1: your that's show m oh and that's a positive. Folks. Don't.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Don't get me wrong, because a lot of people say, oh,
- 7:41Speaker 1: he do too much. I'm gonna tell the man lones
- 7:44Speaker 1: guard allows you to be alive. You're supposed to do
- 7:47Speaker 1: too much because there's no time on when you might
- 7:50Speaker 1: not be here. I always tell people I'm over fifty.
- 7:53Speaker 1: I say I'm on the downside of dyeing, and I
- 7:55Speaker 1: tell people that, hey, but I ain't gonna live to it,
- 7:57Speaker 1: you know, so I can't. Ain't got too many more
- 8:00Speaker 1: years like putting me. But that's an honest talk. L Craiz, okay,
- 8:03Speaker 1: And I'm not saying that is a defeatus. But the
- 8:06Speaker 1: realization is, I'm gonna put my time in when I
- 8:08Speaker 1: talk to Craiz. I'm gonna put my time in talking
- 8:10Speaker 1: to you. So you're younger at me, Why are you
- 8:13Speaker 1: putting so much time in the Craig Man, because the
- 8:17Speaker 1: folks like you this the knowledge you're kicking. I'm like, oh, well, shoot,
- 8:21Speaker 1: that's perspective. Let me go. And then, you know, I
- 8:24Speaker 1: have been fortunate. You know. I bought a building um
- 8:28Speaker 1: near downtown Atlanta, and the gentleman who sold me the property,
- 8:32Speaker 1: I was like, man, why are you selling me this
- 8:34Speaker 1: property at this price? You know, because it was a
- 8:36Speaker 1: really good price for what he was selling it to me.
- 8:39Speaker 1: And he said something very similar. He said, you know, man,
- 8:41Speaker 1: I'm upwards and seventy years old, and I'm not I've
- 8:45Speaker 1: made my money. I want to enjoy it. You know,
- 8:47Speaker 1: I'm not gonna be here for another ten years or
- 8:50Speaker 1: twenty years to see this property turnover and make double
- 8:53Speaker 1: what I sold it to you for. So it's no
- 8:55Speaker 1: point in me holding onto it. And he said, you
- 8:57Speaker 1: got time, and so maximize your time. You hold onto it,
- 9:00Speaker 1: you develop it, and you got twenty years to see
- 9:03Speaker 1: it come to fruition to where you can take that
- 9:05Speaker 1: money and go enjoy it. And so I was like, man,
- 9:07Speaker 1: that's inspired. It's a perspective I've never had. So man,
- 9:09Speaker 1: I gotta yeah, while I'm here, let's go. Well, you know,
- 9:13Speaker 1: you know because you know, I bought a building here
- 9:14Speaker 1: in Atlanta, just like you, And I just want to
- 9:17Speaker 1: put people in perspect her about that because you know
- 9:20Speaker 1: the CRAI because you have to have I've leased at
- 9:23Speaker 1: different places. I have places that we worked, I had
- 9:25Speaker 1: places in the spaces and so multiple offices. But when
- 9:30Speaker 1: you tell people, just like he just said that casually
- 9:32Speaker 1: I bought a building, man, people ain't ready for that.
- 9:35Speaker 1: If you could. People know you can buy a house,
- 9:37Speaker 1: they know you can buy a call, they know you
- 9:39Speaker 1: can buy alline ticket. But when you tell people you
- 9:42Speaker 1: bought a building the create they look at you a
- 9:43Speaker 1: little bit different, don't that And that's a beautiful thing
- 9:49Speaker 1: because that's what as minorities, as people of color, we
- 9:53Speaker 1: gotta have that as part of our vernacular. So it
- 9:56Speaker 1: won't feel strange. It won't feel strange that you know,
- 9:58Speaker 1: we're invested in st It won't feel strange that we
- 10:01Speaker 1: have portfolio financial portfolios. And that leads us back to
- 10:05Speaker 1: why you really came on the show today, Protect the Bag.
- 10:10Speaker 1: How did you come about it? You know experience, you
- 10:13Speaker 1: know you get your credit scores there, it's a financial
- 10:15Speaker 1: education company. How did you get into the whole process
- 10:18Speaker 1: with Experience. Yeah. So the backstory is that I was
- 10:24Speaker 1: getting offered a lot of um, you know, opportunities to
- 10:27Speaker 1: be in films, and I didn't understand the film industry.
- 10:30Speaker 1: So I said, let me back up. And when I
- 10:33Speaker 1: learned a little bit, I said, let me start my
- 10:34Speaker 1: own production company. And once I had a production company,
- 10:37Speaker 1: UM Experience had reached out and said, hey, we like
- 10:40Speaker 1: you to host something for us. Can you do you
- 10:43Speaker 1: know any creative production companies that would be able to
- 10:45Speaker 1: pull it off? And I said, I sure, do you know,
- 10:49Speaker 1: I have one of mine. And you know, I was like,
- 10:52Speaker 1: this is this perfectly aligned because my production team and myself,
- 10:56Speaker 1: you know, my partner and I have been really heavy
- 10:58Speaker 1: on trying to close this this this wealth gap. And
- 11:03Speaker 1: so obviously Experience has some desires. They want to educate
- 11:07Speaker 1: people on credit, and then I have some desires. I
- 11:09Speaker 1: want to see, you know, the black community understand the
- 11:11Speaker 1: power of the dollar, the power of our dollar, and
- 11:14Speaker 1: um how to protect it and how to you know,
- 11:16Speaker 1: invest it. And so those things aligned and we work
- 11:20Speaker 1: together to create something that would continue teaching people about
- 11:24Speaker 1: how to invest and protected their money. Now and you know,
- 11:28Speaker 1: the whole thing about investing, protecting. Like I said, you know,
- 11:31Speaker 1: I'm older than you, so I've I've spent money that
- 11:35Speaker 1: I shouldn't have spent. But guess what I had it.
- 11:39Speaker 1: You know, I've had an extra car I couldn't drive,
- 11:42Speaker 1: but I had it. So but one thing I did
- 11:45Speaker 1: have the care Ever since I was eighteen, I understood
- 11:48Speaker 1: my credit. I protected it. I held don't do it, man.
- 11:52Speaker 1: I I understood what a credit card meant for. Just
- 11:55Speaker 1: somewhere in my mind, my DNA and my process said
- 11:59Speaker 1: credit was in poor to me. And it's always sustained
- 12:02Speaker 1: me through my whole life. It's been my badge, of
- 12:05Speaker 1: my badge of authenticity, my badger be would tell you
- 12:09Speaker 1: my credit scores over eight hundred and and then I
- 12:12Speaker 1: don't even blink. Now, you know, people go, wow, you
- 12:16Speaker 1: got good. Yeah, a twenty. I average a twenty on
- 12:18Speaker 1: the regular basis, and so that's that's something I brag about.
- 12:22Speaker 1: So when you're trying to do protect the bag, how
- 12:25Speaker 1: do people get involved with the whole process besides viewing it? Okay,
- 12:29Speaker 1: because we see so many commercials now about you know,
- 12:32Speaker 1: how they can raise your score real quick, you know.
- 12:35Speaker 1: But there's a process to that, and that's what the
- 12:37Speaker 1: serious is all about, correct, right, absolutely, Yeah, it's it's
- 12:41Speaker 1: it's really beginning to take some steps, and we're giving
- 12:44Speaker 1: people casual steps to take, you know, telling people to
- 12:46Speaker 1: put their money to work for them, you know, treat
- 12:48Speaker 1: your money like it's an employee. UM. Also telling people
- 12:52Speaker 1: to to not see credit as as consumption but see
- 12:55Speaker 1: it as capital. How can your credit UM, Like if
- 12:58Speaker 1: you have a credit card or whatnot, How is that
- 13:02Speaker 1: building something instead of just consuming you If you're just
- 13:04Speaker 1: consuming money, UM, it's not building your credit. If you
- 13:08Speaker 1: if you have credit with the intention of building it
- 13:10Speaker 1: so that you can do more things. That's a different
- 13:12Speaker 1: mindset to have. UM. Teaching people to pay their mortgage,
- 13:17Speaker 1: you know, twice a month. Just split the mortgage payment
- 13:20Speaker 1: in half and what that does is that drives the
- 13:24Speaker 1: interest down that you ended up having to pay. UM.
- 13:26Speaker 1: And just simple principles that people can learn to help them.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Teaching people to pay a little bit more on certain
- 13:33Speaker 1: bills UM, and just helping them understand what it means
- 13:35Speaker 1: to even establish credit, because some folks don't even have credit.
- 13:38Speaker 1: They think I don't want to touch it because I
- 13:40Speaker 1: don't want no credit, I don't want no problems with it,
- 13:42Speaker 1: but you have to establish it in order to have
- 13:44Speaker 1: good credit. We will be right back with more money
- 13:47Speaker 1: making conversation with Rashan McDonald. It's finally here, the season
- 13:52Speaker 1: of celebration, and no matter how you celebrate with family
- 13:55Speaker 1: and friends, whether you're preparing for rays, magos or Karamu,
- 13:59Speaker 1: lighting them a new ara, are going to midnight mass,
- 14:02Speaker 1: Coals has just what you need to make those traditions special.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Plus you'll find gifts for all your loved ones. Send
- 14:09Speaker 1: warm wishes with cozy fleeces, sweaters, loungeware, blankets and throws.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Support minority owned or founded brands by giving gifts from
- 14:17Speaker 1: Human Nation and shame moisture, or treat them to everyone's
- 14:20Speaker 1: favorite activewear from top brands like Nike, Adidas, and under Armour.
- 14:25Speaker 1: And in the spirit of giving, Coals Cares is donating
- 14:28Speaker 1: eight million dollars to local nonprofits nationwide committed to the
- 14:32Speaker 1: health and well being of our communities. No matter how
- 14:35Speaker 1: you celebrate, when you shop at Coals, you're right where
- 14:39Speaker 1: you belong. So this season, give with all your heart
- 14:42Speaker 1: with great gifts from Coals or Coals dot com and
- 14:46Speaker 1: we're live here outside the Perez family home, just waiting
- 14:49Speaker 1: for them. And there they go, almost on time. This morning.
- 14:53Speaker 1: Mom is coming off the front door, strong with a
- 14:55Speaker 1: double arm kid carry. Looks like Dad has the bags
- 14:58Speaker 1: daughter he is bringing up the rear. Oh, but the
- 15:01Speaker 1: diaper bag wasn't closed. Diapers and toys are everywhere. Oh
- 15:07Speaker 1: but mom has just nailed the perfect car seat buckle
- 15:10Speaker 1: for the toddler. And now the eldest daughter, who looks
- 15:13Speaker 1: to be about nine or ten, has secured herself in
- 15:16Speaker 1: the booster seat. Dad SIPs the bad clothes and they're off. Ah,
- 15:20Speaker 1: but looks like Mom doesn't realize her coffee cup is
- 15:22Speaker 1: still on the roof of the car and there it goes. Oh,
- 15:27Speaker 1: that's a shame that mug was a fan favorite. Don't
- 15:30Speaker 1: sweat the small stuff. Just nailed the big stuff, like
- 15:33Speaker 1: making sure your kids are buckled correctly in the right
- 15:34Speaker 1: seat for their agent's eyes. Learn more n h t

- 16:23Speaker 1: have a conversation about being successful, the gard theer's a
- 16:28Speaker 1: love of respect because you know, you just can't just
- 16:30Speaker 1: start talking about having good credit or talking about people
- 16:33Speaker 1: less you have a successful track. For I mentioned some
- 16:35Speaker 1: of the things. You know, three million copies and number
- 16:38Speaker 1: one the artists are both from gospel and be a board.
- 16:41Speaker 1: But then to be an employer, that responsibility, you know,
- 16:46Speaker 1: understanding hr, understanding the health plans, understanding all these little things.
- 16:51Speaker 1: Let's walk through these steps. Because we mentioned three companies,
- 16:53Speaker 1: I want to talk about those three companies because that
- 16:56Speaker 1: has played a role and you being the expert voice. Oh,
- 17:00Speaker 1: protect the bag because people need to understand that because
- 17:02Speaker 1: they will see you as an artist. And I think
- 17:04Speaker 1: that's disrespectful in a lot of ways because yes, your
- 17:08Speaker 1: famous name got you here, but it's your your entrepreneurial
- 17:13Speaker 1: and your business accuum that has allowed us to listen
- 17:16Speaker 1: to you take this advice, Reach your reach your Reach
- 17:20Speaker 1: Records to talk about that. Yeah, so Reach Records is
- 17:23Speaker 1: an independent label. Um, we are going on. Uh man,
- 17:27Speaker 1: I've been doing this since I was a kid, you know,
- 17:29Speaker 1: coming out of college and so you know that's that's
- 17:32Speaker 1: over fifteen years of running a successful label. Um. You know,
- 17:40Speaker 1: by God's grace, we have always been profitable. And that's
- 17:43Speaker 1: just a beautiful thing. Um. One of the things that
- 17:47Speaker 1: I would say is is, uh, I realized early on
- 17:51Speaker 1: that I was not gonna sit around and wait for uh,
- 17:57Speaker 1: somebody to embrace what I was doing. I was just
- 18:00Speaker 1: gonna do it myself. If nobody believed in it, then
- 18:03Speaker 1: it's just let's just do it ourselves, you know. Um.
- 18:05Speaker 1: So I remember creating products and and and albums and
- 18:10Speaker 1: people are like, well it's a little too you know,
- 18:13Speaker 1: street for the church, a little to church for a street,
- 18:17Speaker 1: there's not really a lane for you. Fine, I create
- 18:19Speaker 1: my own lane, right, And that's what we did because
- 18:22Speaker 1: I knew there were other people like me who you know,
- 18:24Speaker 1: would have appreciated what I did. And so we've been
- 18:26Speaker 1: running the label and we made some decisions early on
- 18:29Speaker 1: that really protected us and helped us. And we're brown,
- 18:32Speaker 1: you know, we were young when we started, and we've
- 18:34Speaker 1: just had to grow over the years. And now, like
- 18:36Speaker 1: you said, we got over ten artists and it's learning
- 18:38Speaker 1: how to take care of them and learning how to
- 18:40Speaker 1: you know, teach them, and I'm just trying to continue
- 18:42Speaker 1: to pass that on. And then one thing I will
- 18:44Speaker 1: say is, yes, I've learned a lot. My acumen has risen.
- 18:49Speaker 1: But one of the best things I've learned is to
- 18:51Speaker 1: staff my weaknesses. You can't be good at everything, and
- 18:54Speaker 1: so if you know you're not good at it, staff
- 18:57Speaker 1: that person and put them in a position to help
- 19:00Speaker 1: you achieve what you want to achieve. You know, you
- 19:03Speaker 1: didn't have a name on this. You said, a co
- 19:05Speaker 1: own over a major film studio. Yes, okay, keep name.
- 19:10Speaker 1: We can talk about that and we're gonna keep that
- 19:12Speaker 1: a mystery and just say your co owner of a
- 19:14Speaker 1: major film studio. I mean you know, you know that
- 19:19Speaker 1: I would go let that slide that you know I
- 19:21Speaker 1: got all these titles, but like get to that one
- 19:23Speaker 1: co own off a major film studio. Yeah, so that
- 19:29Speaker 1: I mean, you know that was really just um, I
- 19:35Speaker 1: don't even know how to put it. Put that one
- 19:37Speaker 1: to you. You know. I guess for me, that wasn't
- 19:40Speaker 1: that wasn't not my agenda. Um. It was more so
- 19:45Speaker 1: knowing the right people and that it put me in
- 19:48Speaker 1: a unique position, um to be a part of an
- 19:52Speaker 1: investment deal. And and I said, wait a minute, is
- 19:56Speaker 1: this a reality? You know it is? It is this
- 19:59Speaker 1: film studio which will remain name with some don't want
- 20:01Speaker 1: to put it out there, but um, you know there
- 20:05Speaker 1: was a film studio that has produced a lot of
- 20:07Speaker 1: big films, um films that we all know and love.
- 20:12Speaker 1: And uh and you know I had a friend who
- 20:17Speaker 1: who said, hey, I'm about some Uh there's a portion
- 20:21Speaker 1: of ownership that is not available right now that's now
- 20:24Speaker 1: made available. And I don't want to take it all
- 20:28Speaker 1: on myself. I don't want to take all of it
- 20:30Speaker 1: on I was. I'm giving it to you as an opportunity,
- 20:33Speaker 1: And let me tell you something, I'm literally the I'm
- 20:37Speaker 1: literally the only African American UH owner within that group,
- 20:43Speaker 1: and so that in and of itself is amazing to me.
- 20:47Speaker 1: You know, congratulations. But I had to teach you on
- 20:51Speaker 1: that because I do. I knew that was a lack
- 20:53Speaker 1: of a title left for a reason, but I had
- 20:55Speaker 1: to pull as much information I can get out of you.
- 20:58Speaker 1: But I slide over to the you know when you
- 21:01Speaker 1: made that bold statement to Experience that do you know
- 21:04Speaker 1: a company that can produce this for us? And that's
- 21:07Speaker 1: what what's about to slide right now? Three Strange Films.
- 21:10Speaker 1: That's the production company. That's your production company. Tell me
- 21:13Speaker 1: about that and how did the production actually work to
- 21:16Speaker 1: produce this series for Experience call Protective Act that's on YouTube. Yeah, so, um,
- 21:23Speaker 1: three Strand film As I said before, UM, somebody, a
- 21:27Speaker 1: major UH director had come to me and said, I
- 21:29Speaker 1: want to make a movie about your life. And I
- 21:32Speaker 1: didn't know anything about what that man. I didn't understand
- 21:34Speaker 1: the points. I didn't understand the woryalty system. I didn't
- 21:36Speaker 1: understand the contracts, and so I had to go meet
- 21:39Speaker 1: with a UM an attorney who was in the film industry,
- 21:43Speaker 1: and it was like, man, this is a lot of
- 21:45Speaker 1: heavy lifting. I'm coming from the music industry and I
- 21:47Speaker 1: just don't want to be tall. I know how artists
- 21:49Speaker 1: get taken advantage of, and I don't want to be
- 21:51Speaker 1: taking advantage of in the film industry. And so the
- 21:55Speaker 1: more I studied, the more I realized that this might
- 21:58Speaker 1: be something we can do on our own. You know,
- 22:00Speaker 1: no one can tell our stories better than we can.
- 22:03Speaker 1: And so so UM one of my good buddies was
- 22:07Speaker 1: a director and he had been doing a lot of
- 22:08Speaker 1: independent films, and I said, hey, man, why don't we
- 22:12Speaker 1: partner up and UM and create you know, we even
- 22:15Speaker 1: known each other since you know, our college days. Let's
- 22:18Speaker 1: partner up and create a production company. And so we
- 22:22Speaker 1: started small. We started producing a few music videos, and
- 22:25Speaker 1: then from music videos to some small documentaries and then
- 22:28Speaker 1: that moved on to UM our first UH major project,
- 22:32Speaker 1: which is a film we're working on now. But um,
- 22:35Speaker 1: but the experience thing came across my plate and I
- 22:37Speaker 1: was like, Hey, we got the capacity and the talent,
- 22:39Speaker 1: let's do it right. Whether that that's that's a beautiful
- 22:42Speaker 1: thing because of the fact that you know, we have
- 22:45Speaker 1: to control our stories and we're in the era now,
- 22:48Speaker 1: you're in the era now were streaming out lits uh
- 22:52Speaker 1: in the demand for content from black people, people of color,
- 22:57Speaker 1: African Americans now. But we're talking about protect a bag.
- 23:00Speaker 1: You know, what are your thoughts? Were not because dorm
- 23:03Speaker 1: main conversation, that's all I talk about trying to close
- 23:05Speaker 1: that gap. I bring all type of c p a
- 23:07Speaker 1: s accounts and motivational people like you on the show.
- 23:11Speaker 1: But there's a wealth disparity out there that exists to
- 23:13Speaker 1: long racial lines. What are your thoughts and what is
- 23:16Speaker 1: your role in trying to close that disparity? Yeah? For me, Um,
- 23:21Speaker 1: part of it is education, right, So we can't close
- 23:24Speaker 1: that gap without education and and then helping us understand
- 23:28Speaker 1: the power of our dollar. So African Americans, the black
- 23:32Speaker 1: community represents one point for trillion dollars in buying power, right,
- 23:37Speaker 1: and what that means for anybody who doesn't understand what
- 23:40Speaker 1: that means is that means we have one point for
- 23:43Speaker 1: trillion dollars that we can put anywhere we want. And
- 23:49Speaker 1: so people are competing for our dollars and we are
- 23:52Speaker 1: not putting our dollars back into ourselves. We're not investing
- 23:55Speaker 1: in ourselves and so our money goes right into our
- 23:58Speaker 1: pockets and into another community. And so that hinders black
- 24:02Speaker 1: businesses from thriving. That hinders um our kids from having
- 24:06Speaker 1: their college paid for, that hinders um, you know, us investing.
- 24:11Speaker 1: Another thing is is the beauty and healthcare. You know,
- 24:15Speaker 1: we represent four of the population, but represent of beauty purchases,
- 24:22Speaker 1: but only one percent of the stock market. Now, how
- 24:26Speaker 1: is that? That's that's the type of disparity that I
- 24:28Speaker 1: feel like we need to have education on and and
- 24:31Speaker 1: begin to to take some steps and some stripes. A
- 24:34Speaker 1: lot of people say, you know, uh, well we should
- 24:37Speaker 1: buy black, Yes, but we should also invest, and we
- 24:41Speaker 1: should also um figure out how to do good business.
- 24:45Speaker 1: And we should also if we're gonna buy black, let's
- 24:47Speaker 1: create businesses that are good businesses and have good business
- 24:51Speaker 1: models and business plans and help each other through that
- 24:53Speaker 1: so that that this thing can be more sustainable long term.
- 24:57Speaker 1: Right right now, you can catch the Serious Protective Bag
- 24:59Speaker 1: every who's the on YouTube seven pm Eastern Tender Standard
- 25:03Speaker 1: time all the way to December four, Team the Cray

- 25:26Speaker 1: the ride. And always always humble, always humble. But that
- 25:32Speaker 1: might just clicking. He would tell you somebody, the Craiz,
- 25:35Speaker 1: the craw don't get in with the small expectation. He
- 25:39Speaker 1: looks at the opportunity. And he's a visionary. And if
- 25:42Speaker 1: you know, a visionary, visionary always looks at the long
- 25:45Speaker 1: the long run. You know that's important. If you see
- 25:48Speaker 1: a penny, he's looking around where that nickel at on
- 25:49Speaker 1: the ground. It's most of it. What penny is the
- 25:51Speaker 1: Nickelson place, because that's how his mind thinks. And so
- 25:55Speaker 1: don't be shocked. So capture and watch these series is right,

- 26:45Speaker 1: We're trying to change the wealth at racial gap, especially
- 26:48Speaker 1: for our people, and you're one of the voices my
- 26:51Speaker 1: boy Ash Cash and get him on board and said
- 26:53Speaker 1: more people. So it's you know, I'm the old head man.
- 26:56Speaker 1: I want you young boys out there, man, just leading
- 26:58Speaker 1: the way and allow me to just later foundations. That
- 27:01Speaker 1: is that a deal? That's awesome. I love that. I'm

- 27:28Speaker 1: and turn those pennies into dollars and then you invest
- 27:31Speaker 1: those dollars into the stock market. Thank you, Lucraig. Absolutely appreciate.
