- 1:52Speaker 1: coming to the the studio with a card. Now, this righting
- 1:54Speaker 1: on both sides of the car for Lanthropus founders and
- 1:58Speaker 1: uh Jake, it was a Jobby Juby Jobie Incorporated and
- 2:02Speaker 1: creators of the International Trailblazers Awards or event that I attended,
- 2:06Speaker 1: that event that I discovered. These are beautiful people sitting
- 2:09Speaker 1: next to me. They believe in giving back to the
- 2:11Speaker 1: community and helping young ladies and gentlemen that's trying to
- 2:15Speaker 1: better themselves, Helping people that's ready to step in their destiny.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Please working with money making conversations Caesar Gators, Gators and
- 2:25Speaker 1: Christie Fields welcome, good morning. Well you can see he
- 2:29Speaker 1: got the radio varts already, but he just already making
- 2:31Speaker 1: me look bad. See I can't I can't stand him.
- 2:33Speaker 1: I don't know why I brought him on this show.
- 2:36Speaker 1: I know he's gonna put his best foot forward, and
- 2:38Speaker 1: he did. We've got that for so we come one
- 2:41Speaker 1: time season. I'm just waiting for you. We'll tell everybody
- 2:45Speaker 1: about you by both you guys in the studio. First
- 2:47Speaker 1: of all, I went to the event. Let me just
- 2:49Speaker 1: let's talk about where I met you too. It was
- 2:51Speaker 1: at the International Trailblazers Award, and that event is kind
- 2:54Speaker 1: of similar to what I was doing several years with
- 2:56Speaker 1: the Neighborhood Awards. It's honoring the on and shining light
- 3:02Speaker 1: on individuals who should who are special in the community,
- 3:05Speaker 1: and it's also a fundraiser. So I start with you.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Christie told us about it. Jefva I came about, um
- 3:12Speaker 1: two thousand and eight when we first opened the salon.
- 3:18Speaker 1: I opened the salon and we just kept people just
- 3:21Speaker 1: kept coming to us and like needed help and had
- 3:24Speaker 1: situations and it just started growing out. Was like for real.
- 3:28Speaker 1: So I started feeding the homeless, and I started doing
- 3:32Speaker 1: We had a young lady who wanted to go to
- 3:33Speaker 1: the inauguration, so we started trying to get funds together.
- 3:36Speaker 1: And just how it all started, It's just the salon
- 3:39Speaker 1: was the birth. And then Jeffai came about. Okay, so
- 3:42Speaker 1: so okay, so now you know people come and ask
- 3:45Speaker 1: me for stuff. I kind of like looked all the way.
- 3:47Speaker 1: So obviously you guys didn't have blinders on. No, I
- 3:51Speaker 1: would give you the shirt off my back. My grandmother
- 3:53Speaker 1: always told me, if you can't give somebody to something
- 3:56Speaker 1: to where to eat, get something to eat, and give
- 3:57Speaker 1: him somewhere to stay. And I've been doing. Okay, tell
- 4:02Speaker 1: me your story now, the same story. It's basically the same,
- 4:05Speaker 1: except one thing. I had the blinders on it, you know,
- 4:11Speaker 1: and and and what happened is that we had people
- 4:13Speaker 1: that would come to the salon and always want to help,
- 4:15Speaker 1: and I said, well, you know, we can't help everybody,
- 4:18Speaker 1: but we started taking money out of the teal and
- 4:20Speaker 1: started helping people, and our counting told us, what, you know,
- 4:23Speaker 1: you just can't take money out of the teal because
- 4:25Speaker 1: you know, the government not gonna get your right off
- 4:27Speaker 1: of that just taking money out of the teal. So
- 4:30Speaker 1: Chris came up with the idea of starting a foundation,
- 4:33Speaker 1: and I said, okay, let's start the foundation. I said,
- 4:35Speaker 1: what's gonna be the name? And she said, well, she
- 4:37Speaker 1: got to think about it, and she got to pray
- 4:38Speaker 1: about it. And my son's middle name is Jibias and
- 4:42Speaker 1: it came from the prayer of Jabaas and that's what
- 4:44Speaker 1: she got your back from, which stands for just about
- 4:46Speaker 1: blessing you. And we just started going out in the
- 4:49Speaker 1: community blessing people, trying to get back to the community
- 4:51Speaker 1: that was supporting us. Okay, just talk about the salon. Okay,
- 4:54Speaker 1: let's talk about that's my shows about entrepreneurship, money making
- 4:57Speaker 1: conversations based on our advice about small businesses. How you started.
- 5:03Speaker 1: So let's talk about how the salon got started. Before
- 5:06Speaker 1: we start talking about the giving back, because that's because
- 5:09Speaker 1: we have two people. That means that decisions aren't always equal.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Somebody has a way they want that wall to look,
- 5:15Speaker 1: or that chair just said, or how are we gonna
- 5:16Speaker 1: do reservations. Let's talk about putting that business format together. Well,
- 5:21Speaker 1: my ultimate goal was to have a salon where you
- 5:24Speaker 1: can come and get your hair done. Everybody can't afford
- 5:26Speaker 1: to pay sixty five dollars fifty five dollars get their
- 5:28Speaker 1: hair shampooed and said, so I want to have a salnge,
- 5:31Speaker 1: but you can come and get your hair shampooed and
- 5:32Speaker 1: condition for ten dollars. We did everything. Let me let
- 5:36Speaker 1: me enter minute. What you're listening. She about the shock
- 5:40Speaker 1: the industry because they did this in North Carolina, but
- 5:42Speaker 1: when she brought it to Georgia, we had a bunch
- 5:44Speaker 1: of haters and I'm gonnat her tell you why. Okay,
- 5:47Speaker 1: So we went from sixty five dollars because you saying
- 5:49Speaker 1: ten dollars dollars every day, no pointman needed seven days
- 5:52Speaker 1: a week. Are you gonna doud just walk in and
- 5:54Speaker 1: get your hair done? So we was like there was
- 5:57Speaker 1: like ten dollars. I was like everybody can't afford to
- 5:59Speaker 1: get their hair down. Not trying to take your clients,
- 6:01Speaker 1: but you have people who cannot afford to pay to
- 6:03Speaker 1: get their damn period. I'm trying to help them. So
- 6:06Speaker 1: it wasn't even a business decision. It was more of
- 6:09Speaker 1: a community decision. Okay, but you changed the game though.
- 6:13Speaker 1: I changed the game, Lord knows, because I can charge
- 6:16Speaker 1: six five dollars because I love what I do, but
- 6:18Speaker 1: everybody cannot. It wasn't a step on nobody's toes as
- 6:22Speaker 1: I do this. Because you have seen cities on fixed
- 6:25Speaker 1: income ten dollars. You have mothers who have four or
- 6:28Speaker 1: five kids. You can't pay six ft alls favorite job.
- 6:31Speaker 1: It's not it's not possible. So you've got to have
- 6:34Speaker 1: somewhere they can come and get at least get something
- 6:36Speaker 1: done they feel good about themselves. Okay, cool, Okay, seizure. Okay,
- 6:40Speaker 1: sixty five to ten, that's fifty five dollars. Now, that's
- 6:43Speaker 1: fifty five dollars. Okay, where are you ating this conversation? Okay.
- 6:47Speaker 1: In the beginning, it took me a while to become
- 6:49Speaker 1: a believer. And the reason because I looked at the
- 6:53Speaker 1: economics right and then once I broke the economics down,
- 6:56Speaker 1: and and all my hair stylus and barbers out there,
- 6:59Speaker 1: they're really gonna this part. But when you go by
- 7:02Speaker 1: a bottle of shampoo, you can buy a bottle of
- 7:05Speaker 1: shampoo for twenty five dollars. Out of that bottle of shampoo,
- 7:09Speaker 1: you can shampoo a hundred and ten people. That's where
- 7:13Speaker 1: I started. Yeah, I started breaking down the numbers. So
- 7:16Speaker 1: a hundred and ten people for twenty bottle of shampoo.
- 7:19Speaker 1: If we're doing shampoo and sets, which is what she
- 7:22Speaker 1: called the roller set and charging ten dollars, and it's
- 7:25Speaker 1: only costing US twenty five dollars plus some water, and
- 7:30Speaker 1: the style is time, it made sense. So we got
- 7:32Speaker 1: about two dollars invested because it takes about seven to
- 7:35Speaker 1: ten minutes if you're a really good roller setter to
- 7:38Speaker 1: roll the head. So we got about two dollars invested
- 7:42Speaker 1: in that ten dollars, so it makes sense to me. Okay, cool,
- 7:45Speaker 1: So here's you know, we know when people hear things
- 7:47Speaker 1: that are unusual, you know, they go really okay, Now
- 7:51Speaker 1: you had to deal with that part of what kind
- 7:54Speaker 1: of what kind of hair wash that are gonna get?
- 7:57Speaker 1: If the water gonna be cold. Are you using some
- 8:01Speaker 1: generic or detergent? We use our professional products requests since
- 8:06Speaker 1: day one designed it central. It didn't matter because that's
- 8:10Speaker 1: what we did. And then people call like we had
- 8:12Speaker 1: died the shampoo my own hair to come shampoo and
- 8:15Speaker 1: condition I already. We're like, no, we're gonna shop in
- 8:17Speaker 1: condition and roll you up. And it's like you shoot,
- 8:20Speaker 1: like yes, we had to bring on rollers like they
- 8:22Speaker 1: were sitting their grandmother in first to test us, to
- 8:25Speaker 1: see and then they would come in. I'm like for real.
- 8:28Speaker 1: But that first week we opened, we did about forty people.
- 8:31Speaker 1: That second week after that we did six seven hundred
- 8:34Speaker 1: women a week every week, yes, sir, every day. Okay, okay, okay,
- 8:38Speaker 1: see I love that because you know, I'm a big
- 8:40Speaker 1: ice cream guy. And Brewisters like over there if you
- 8:42Speaker 1: if you take a banana the Brewsters on Thursday, you
- 8:45Speaker 1: gotta have parks. But now to split. So that's what
- 8:47Speaker 1: they were thinking. You know, they gotta come in with
- 8:49Speaker 1: the hair wet. How are we gotta be wet? You're
- 8:51Speaker 1: diving and get it done. You're gonna do it for
- 8:53Speaker 1: ten dollars. We're gonna do it from the beginning, so
- 8:55Speaker 1: so let's talk about this. How big is First of
- 8:58Speaker 1: all the name of your salon? Then when we first
- 9:01Speaker 1: started with sweetsweing colon, there is the color of our salon. Okay, cool,
- 9:04Speaker 1: let's go back to that. How big was it? And
- 9:07Speaker 1: how many? How many chairs did you have in there?
- 9:10Speaker 1: With five thousands good feet? And we here some stylus
- 9:15Speaker 1: now okay, and the stylus rent out the boots? Is
- 9:18Speaker 1: that how it works there? How does that work? Commission?
- 9:21Speaker 1: It was commissioned? Okay? So so because a lot of salons,
- 9:24Speaker 1: just trying to break down how salons work. Like my
- 9:26Speaker 1: brother he has like, uh, three barbershops and two salons
- 9:30Speaker 1: in d C. And so he rents out that chair
- 9:33Speaker 1: and so that's how he generates his revenue. So your
- 9:36Speaker 1: your format, how was it there? Commission you come in
- 9:39Speaker 1: and whatever service you render, that's how you get paid
- 9:42Speaker 1: upon you have a certain percentage of which you make. Okay. Cool.
- 9:45Speaker 1: So when you went to this ten dollars not sixty
- 9:48Speaker 1: five dollars, not season Okay. Now everybody tried to get
- 9:50Speaker 1: to that commission. Okay. Now they're working super hard because
- 9:53Speaker 1: they got to work six times to get back up
- 9:55Speaker 1: to sixty five no, they don't because let me tell
- 9:57Speaker 1: you why. Ever saw she came up with a brilliant
- 9:59Speaker 1: plu in commission playing was set up like this. When
- 10:03Speaker 1: you did over a thousand dollars worth for a revenue, right,
- 10:07Speaker 1: you got six percent of the money. So we gave
- 10:10Speaker 1: you more money for doing more revenue. But here's the
- 10:12Speaker 1: thing you gotta remember. She said, we was doing seven
- 10:14Speaker 1: hundred clients a week. When you're paying boot rent at
- 10:17Speaker 1: sixty five dollars, you don't have seven hundred people coming
- 10:19Speaker 1: through your door. We have status making over thousand dollars
- 10:23Speaker 1: a week every week. Okay, So so when did they
- 10:27Speaker 1: start biting off your your idea? Oh maybe a year later?
- 10:35Speaker 1: Head and leave trying to go start the concept somewhere
- 10:38Speaker 1: else and come back, then leave again. But I always
- 10:42Speaker 1: we from open doors because I'm not that person because
- 10:44Speaker 1: because people think it's easy, I think it's easy. I
- 10:47Speaker 1: always tell people, you know, they can work in a bakery,
- 10:49Speaker 1: they can work in whatever event they think that. But
- 10:52Speaker 1: you know, the thing I want you to expound on
- 10:54Speaker 1: this Seesar about the relationships um a belief certain you know,
- 11:00Speaker 1: like I said, a lot of prayer involved in this
- 11:02Speaker 1: and a lot of people understand that prayer is really
- 11:05Speaker 1: to me focused, it's also just a plan. You know,
- 11:08Speaker 1: a lot of things are determined when you pray, because
- 11:11Speaker 1: I always tell people when they talk about that situation.
- 11:14Speaker 1: So some people understand that you always need to slow
- 11:17Speaker 1: down to understand where you're going, and prayer will sometimes
- 11:20Speaker 1: do that for you if you're praying the right way.
- 11:22Speaker 1: You know, so crazy about it, and you said prayer.
- 11:24Speaker 1: We play gospl music all day and we pray in
- 11:27Speaker 1: the morning before we open. Because you have to have
- 11:30Speaker 1: God in your life and you have to have faith,
- 11:32Speaker 1: and you don't believe it, it's not gonna happen. And
- 11:34Speaker 1: it makes the world different that they change the atmosphere
- 11:36Speaker 1: because you don't know what people got going on. They
- 11:39Speaker 1: come in with issues, so you wanted to feel comfortable
- 11:41Speaker 1: and it's a place of relief. Never saw I'm gonna
- 11:44Speaker 1: take credit for that one because it was a struggle
- 11:46Speaker 1: in the beginning. Um, I wanted to change the atmosphere
- 11:49Speaker 1: of the salon because you know, normal, when you have
- 11:51Speaker 1: a normal salon, they're playing all types of music. TV.
- 11:54Speaker 1: You got the soap operas on TV. And I told Chris,
- 11:56Speaker 1: I said, you know, we need to play gospel music
- 11:58Speaker 1: to get into the person's and and and that way.
- 12:04Speaker 1: They fought with me for a while, but after a
- 12:06Speaker 1: while they understood and once we started playing the gospel,
- 12:09Speaker 1: we got better clients and it was a better atmosphere
- 12:12Speaker 1: for us. What was the age what's the age group
- 12:14Speaker 1: that comes into Europe? Because when you say gospel, people
- 12:17Speaker 1: think older. You know, it's what's the what's what's the
- 12:20Speaker 1: the demo, that's that's the pain, that's the pipe, the
- 12:24Speaker 1: pain rate right there. They bringing their kids, they bringing
- 12:27Speaker 1: their friends, and so so with that being said, you know,
- 12:30Speaker 1: you get your hair done, you get your spirit done,
- 12:34Speaker 1: and you walk out there with money in your pocket
- 12:36Speaker 1: like that. I like that. That's the slogan. We're gonna
- 12:39Speaker 1: talk about that. Man, We're gonna be right back with more.
- 12:41Speaker 1: I got my friends, the trail Blazers, the couple I
- 12:44Speaker 1: met just on the slide, I just met y'all. Y'all,
- 12:47Speaker 1: y'all made that depression on me especially. I want to
- 12:49Speaker 1: be I want to have a relationship, and I'm all
- 12:52Speaker 1: heads can't do them for me. Right back with more age.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Rahan McDonald laughing at my I think this is my
- 13:07Speaker 1: favorite people in Atlanta. We're gonna talk about We're gonna
- 13:10Speaker 1: go eat somewhere. You know, we're gonna talk about a
- 13:12Speaker 1: little bit. But let me tell you that philanthropist founders
- 13:15Speaker 1: and uh International Trailblads Awards where I saw them and
- 13:18Speaker 1: uh and he was hosting. He's a very good host.
- 13:21Speaker 1: By the way, if you want to book out a
- 13:22Speaker 1: host and somebody who can talk, he's available. He's able.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Please back and welcome back to Caesar and Christie. So
- 13:30Speaker 1: you know, I know you've gotten people in thralled. All right,
- 13:33Speaker 1: all right, now my wife is gonna text me I
- 13:35Speaker 1: love her because of the fact that your business people
- 13:38Speaker 1: who made a decision, but you made a decision based
- 13:40Speaker 1: on faith, and so that faith has Let's talk about
- 13:45Speaker 1: the International trail Blazer Awards. Now why the word international, Well,
- 13:51Speaker 1: the reason we tell chose International tripl As Awards because
- 13:54Speaker 1: we recognize people globally, not just in Atlanta, not just
- 13:59Speaker 1: in the United States, but globally. One of our honorees
- 14:03Speaker 1: was the first female Prime Minister of the Bahamas, Cynthia Prett.
- 14:08Speaker 1: She was one of our honorees a couple of years ago,
- 14:11Speaker 1: and again we wanted to make sure people knew that
- 14:15Speaker 1: we recognize people all over the world globally and not
- 14:18Speaker 1: just in Atlanta. Okay, how do you how do you
- 14:21Speaker 1: promote your event? I'm glad you act uh uh on
- 14:31Speaker 1: November nominations will do so. No nominations opened up on
- 14:36Speaker 1: August the one right after the event and run all
- 14:39Speaker 1: the way through November. So from August the first to
- 14:44Speaker 1: November the fifteen, people can go to our website which
- 14:47Speaker 1: is www dot Jebai, Inc. Which is j A B
- 14:51Speaker 1: Y I n C dot com and they can pull
- 14:54Speaker 1: down the information and they can nominate people and you
- 14:57Speaker 1: can send in a nomination anybody all over the world
- 14:59Speaker 1: and into the nomination of who they want to they
- 15:02Speaker 1: want to be recognized him in the fifth team. We
- 15:05Speaker 1: get all the emails and then our board comes together
- 15:07Speaker 1: and we vote on who we're gonna recognize for the
- 15:09Speaker 1: next year. Okay, cool, So so you need me to
- 15:11Speaker 1: help promote that, yes, okay, cool uh? Samanthea, that's the
- 15:15Speaker 1: executive producers show Samanthe. We gotta get a business card
- 15:18Speaker 1: here so we can get on social media, so we
- 15:20Speaker 1: could also do I have a fan club to two
- 15:24Speaker 1: people understanding worldwide. That's why I want to you're not domestic.
- 15:34Speaker 1: So let's let's let's talk a little bit about the
- 15:36Speaker 1: trail Blates Awards International. What are the categories that you're
- 15:41Speaker 1: looking for individuals in that? How does that break down?
- 15:44Speaker 1: Because I was there because Chef jnrd Wales was being
- 15:47Speaker 1: honored and he asked me to come there and present him.
- 15:51Speaker 1: So that was that a category or how was that word?
- 15:54Speaker 1: It was? He was in an entertainment category. He got
- 15:57Speaker 1: nominated in an entertainment category. We have an instant racial category,
- 16:01Speaker 1: we have a justice category, we have a legend category. Um,
- 16:05Speaker 1: we have a Chairman category which is picked by us.
- 16:08Speaker 1: So just just realized that one one year might not
- 16:11Speaker 1: be next year because we can't do you that quick.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Because they were like, we was already on the show.
- 16:18Speaker 1: We're gonna call you up. We gonna call you up
- 16:21Speaker 1: there and and make sure that you receive one of
- 16:22Speaker 1: our International Trailblazer Awards, because the Chairman's Award is picked
- 16:27Speaker 1: by us specifically for people that have helped us promote
- 16:32Speaker 1: and understand our brand and International Trailblazes Award. Okay, and
- 16:36Speaker 1: you in your brand is what our brand is actually
- 16:41Speaker 1: helping the community and recognizing people that's helping the community
- 16:45Speaker 1: that don't necessarily and ordinarily get the publicity that that
- 16:50Speaker 1: they need, they just do it because we know. The
- 16:52Speaker 1: interesting thing about YouTube is that when you're giving back
- 16:57Speaker 1: and you trying to live a normal life, it's very
- 17:00Speaker 1: fatiguing because and it's actually emotionally draining because you just
- 17:04Speaker 1: only can do so much, but people ask for so much,
- 17:08Speaker 1: and so how do how do you balance that? How
- 17:11Speaker 1: do you balance that without feeling that you failed? You know,
- 17:14Speaker 1: because I know that, Uh, I know, I had to.
- 17:17Speaker 1: I had to. I had to create a certain lane
- 17:20Speaker 1: for myself where I said, where I would tell people
- 17:23Speaker 1: I only donate here. You know, I only donate for
- 17:26Speaker 1: these scholarships that shut down a lot of it. But
- 17:29Speaker 1: you guys have such a giving personality. Plus you're available
- 17:31Speaker 1: in the general public. Yeah I'm not available. We can't
- 17:34Speaker 1: fire a show McDonald, I'm gonna hop in the car,
- 17:36Speaker 1: I'm gone, and so but they can find you. So
- 17:38Speaker 1: how does that balance work? Well. One of the things
- 17:42Speaker 1: that we do, um as I stated at the event,
- 17:46Speaker 1: ninety eight cents of every dollar that we raised that
- 17:49Speaker 1: people donate, we get back to the community. So what
- 17:53Speaker 1: I do is to make sure I want to spend
- 17:56Speaker 1: that ninety cents because people call us all the time
- 17:58Speaker 1: and you can't help everybody. But I'm constantly calling Chris
- 18:02Speaker 1: on the phone telling her about somebody else that needed
- 18:04Speaker 1: something else. I'm constantly calling her on the phone about
- 18:10Speaker 1: people that need help um and and trying to reach
- 18:13Speaker 1: out and give to the community because we don't do
- 18:15Speaker 1: it for the money. So since we don't do it
- 18:17Speaker 1: for the money, as long as it's sitting in the account,
- 18:19Speaker 1: I'm trying to spend it. I'm trying to make sure
- 18:20Speaker 1: I help somebody else because I'm a firm believer that
- 18:23Speaker 1: if you give, you're gonna receive. And she can tell
- 18:27Speaker 1: you over the years, our profitable business, the salon has
- 18:31Speaker 1: expanded and did well because on the other side, we're
- 18:34Speaker 1: giving blessings to other people. Talk about that, Christie, like
- 18:40Speaker 1: you said, you know you're not financially able to give, give, give, give,
- 18:44Speaker 1: But due to the fact, I said, the salon, I
- 18:47Speaker 1: have so many clients to come in and give donnate
- 18:51Speaker 1: stuff for me to give back toiletry, blankets, clothes, so
- 18:55Speaker 1: it's just like it just falls in our lap. And
- 18:58Speaker 1: I was like, it just happened. So it's like, God,
- 19:00Speaker 1: what are you telling me? Like, so keep doing what
- 19:03Speaker 1: I'm doing and make it do what it do. It's
- 19:06Speaker 1: just like you said, it's I can only say it's faith.
- 19:09Speaker 1: I don't know where it's coming from. I just believe
- 19:11Speaker 1: it's that guy. You're gonna make it happen. They say,
- 19:13Speaker 1: you know it happens, right, But there's the plan to
- 19:15Speaker 1: that because you're consistent about it, and so I always
- 19:17Speaker 1: tell people because you know faith is important. But because
- 19:20Speaker 1: you you're are consistent and you are you know, you're
- 19:23Speaker 1: charitable at heart, and there's no agenda tie to it.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Like you said, when you went from sixty five to ten,
- 19:28Speaker 1: there was charity that drove that, but you still have
- 19:31Speaker 1: a business model. Because he wasn't gonna season, not gonna
- 19:33Speaker 1: do anything unless he understand how you can make money.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Charity stopped at the park with him. Okay, so once
- 19:38Speaker 1: he figured out that you weren't crazy, he was just
- 19:40Speaker 1: gonna fall with this. But but believe it, when you
- 19:43Speaker 1: went from six to five to ten, that was a
- 19:44Speaker 1: crazy talk going around. Y'all lost your mind. I'm like,
- 19:49Speaker 1: it works. I like saying this work. And I didn't
- 19:52Speaker 1: have the label like one or two dollars. At first,
- 19:53Speaker 1: it was like, you're you crazy. Ain't nobody gonna do
- 19:55Speaker 1: not half of no ten dollars. I'm saying, yes, if
- 19:58Speaker 1: you open it door, they will come. And indeed, so
- 20:02Speaker 1: that started at the original location. Tell us about your
- 20:04Speaker 1: new salon. The original was five thousand, talk about the
- 20:07Speaker 1: new place. Right now, we're downsize because you know, as
- 20:09Speaker 1: you know, you get burnt out, things happen, you go
- 20:12Speaker 1: through the struggles. We don't been through the flood, we
- 20:14Speaker 1: don't been through the fire. We don't head a salon
- 20:17Speaker 1: actually burned down had started over. So now we're starting over.
- 20:20Speaker 1: We're called the color Bar Salon and we're located count
- 20:24Speaker 1: of Road in the Cataum. The cab counted is at foundation.
- 20:30Speaker 1: They take care of us and we take care of them.
- 20:32Speaker 1: So we do ten dollar rolla sets on Sundays and
- 20:34Speaker 1: Wednesdays now but still even though the other days are
- 20:37Speaker 1: twenty dollars. So and right now we're just starting to
- 20:40Speaker 1: rebuilding a lot of clients of finders that we're back
- 20:42Speaker 1: open and that we got new clients coming in. So
- 20:45Speaker 1: we're just starting back over. About starting back over like
- 20:48Speaker 1: a like a bring up my wife. She was an
- 20:52Speaker 1: optometrist and she hasn't still license though she's gonna kill
- 20:55Speaker 1: for since she wolves. And so the flood shut her
- 20:59Speaker 1: office down. I mean it was it was in Houston,
- 21:02Speaker 1: Texas flood. If you saw a picture, you didn't even
- 21:05Speaker 1: see her shop. It was that flooded. So it was
- 21:07Speaker 1: a little top of a little eighteen wheel of Trump.
- 21:10Speaker 1: And when she when she reopened, she was so concerned
- 21:13Speaker 1: about staying when she previously was that and and now
- 21:18Speaker 1: that now she realized she that was a mistake because
- 21:20Speaker 1: she should have just she so talented, she should have
- 21:22Speaker 1: let the customers find her for as her trying to
- 21:25Speaker 1: stay there so the customers could find her. So when
- 21:28Speaker 1: you in this whole rebuilding process, what ran through your mind?
- 21:31Speaker 1: The selection process, where you're gonna be and how you're
- 21:34Speaker 1: gonna reopen. Yeah, I know you're biting at the bed.
- 21:38Speaker 1: I come, okay, let me take something shots. It's it's
- 21:40Speaker 1: really funny because we went through a flood the cab
- 21:44Speaker 1: can and flooded out our salon out, so then we
- 21:48Speaker 1: moved to a Memorial Drive. We were open for one month.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Fire burnt down every building but house, every sweet but
- 21:57Speaker 1: out Sweet burnt down. We had smoking water damnage. So
- 22:01Speaker 1: we were closed for nine months, nine months that our
- 22:04Speaker 1: clients couldn't come to us and went to other people.
- 22:07Speaker 1: We reopened nine months later. Um and Chris said, you
- 22:11Speaker 1: know what, I need to go back home. And she
- 22:14Speaker 1: kept saying she need to go back home, which was
- 22:16Speaker 1: Candle Role. That's where we started, right And I said, well, no,
- 22:19Speaker 1: we need to stay right here. So I fought for
- 22:20Speaker 1: a while for to stay right here. She went to
- 22:22Speaker 1: Camele Role as people coming in the Walmart, people at
- 22:24Speaker 1: the gut Busters are where somebody ow them girls is
- 22:27Speaker 1: back all over the place. I mean, it's just amazing.
- 22:32Speaker 1: You go up in down Candle Road. Now they the
- 22:33Speaker 1: girl I'm ten dollar. Girls are back right busting the
- 22:36Speaker 1: doors down. So now I gotta give her credit. She
- 22:39Speaker 1: wanted to go back to came Rod. She went back
- 22:41Speaker 1: to Camel Road. That's why it's called a color ball
- 22:42Speaker 1: over there there. And then the women are busting through
- 22:46Speaker 1: doors now right because you went to what what what
- 22:50Speaker 1: was your rational behind that? Because that's where I started at,
- 22:53Speaker 1: and I knew what God gave me. Then I know
- 22:56Speaker 1: you always give you better, but I knew I needed
- 22:59Speaker 1: to be on count Road because that's that's why I started.
- 23:02Speaker 1: And it was it was good. It was it was great.
- 23:05Speaker 1: It was good. I said, So if I gotta start over,
- 23:08Speaker 1: and I had the opportunity to start over, then why
- 23:10Speaker 1: not he alreay shood you a couple of messages, right,
- 23:13Speaker 1: because I was just I burn you down, or you
- 23:17Speaker 1: need to come on back. I gonna burn you down.
- 23:18Speaker 1: I'm gonna burn around you, right, I'm gonna give you
- 23:21Speaker 1: a sign. You're gonna get us flag. And it just
- 23:23Speaker 1: so happens the week up before school and I'm just
- 23:27Speaker 1: round down count of Road and I see a building
- 23:29Speaker 1: with a police sign in it. So the man was like, um,
- 23:33Speaker 1: I called. He was like, it's it's a salon. You
- 23:36Speaker 1: know it used to be a salon now, I said,
- 23:38Speaker 1: well is it? Availably say, yeah, you wanna come see it?
- 23:40Speaker 1: I said, I can't come right now, but I got
- 23:42Speaker 1: in here. Some made me call this man bad. I
- 23:44Speaker 1: can come, but let me pick my child up. I'm
- 23:46Speaker 1: gonna go back and see it. I went back. He
- 23:48Speaker 1: walked me through. I've seen it. I said, I want it.
- 23:52Speaker 1: This is Tuesday on where day he called me and
- 23:54Speaker 1: said seend me your LSC I said, okay, I saw
- 23:57Speaker 1: on Thursday, he said, let occupancy. I saw. Okay, Lord, team,
- 24:04Speaker 1: I gotta gotta wrap us up here. I will tell
- 24:07Speaker 1: you this season. She picked up the energy and in
- 24:09Speaker 1: man I sparked something that means I can bring it back.
- 24:14Speaker 1: I want to thank you guys. You owe me some stuff. Season. Okay. Uh.
- 24:18Speaker 1: In fact, uh, let's let's get season to call in
- 24:21Speaker 1: on that deadline date. So he said, he wants to
- 24:23Speaker 1: call in to promote the wrap up. We're gonna we're
- 24:27Speaker 1: gonna promote you a part of the family. And you
- 24:30Speaker 1: said you do beers, right, Okay, we don't drop by
