- 2:09Speaker 1: a radio show one more time partner, Steve Harvey got
- 2:12Speaker 1: a radio show. Man. How amazing is that? How good
- 2:20Speaker 1: has God been to me? How good has he been
- 2:24Speaker 1: to you? Just check yourself sometimes, just sit up, Just
- 2:29Speaker 1: let's run a survey. Just look at your life, where
- 2:31Speaker 1: it's at. It might not be where you want it
- 2:34Speaker 1: to be, but that's probably some decisions you made. But really, though,
- 2:38Speaker 1: in spite of all the crazy mistakes I didn't made,
- 2:42Speaker 1: I mean, man, I look back at some of the
- 2:46Speaker 1: decisions I didn't came up with and and man, it's
- 2:48Speaker 1: it's it's just amazing. He let me live. I mean,
- 2:52Speaker 1: it's it's and and and to exist the way I exist,
- 2:55Speaker 1: it does nothing but grace, mercy, favor all that is.
- 2:59Speaker 1: That's my mama praying for me when I wasn't praying
- 3:02Speaker 1: for myself. It had to be it, because, man, I
- 3:04Speaker 1: can truly tell you I have made enough mistakes man,
- 3:09Speaker 1: stuff you would never even know about, and recovered from
- 3:13Speaker 1: them all you can too, and I don't care what
- 3:17Speaker 1: you've done. Marvin Sapp has a song out that says
- 3:21Speaker 1: he saw the best in me when everyone else around
- 3:25Speaker 1: me could only see the worst in me. You know
- 3:28Speaker 1: that that's an important song man, especially you know. I
- 3:33Speaker 1: want to talk to men today because man, being a
- 3:39Speaker 1: man is so so difficult. Please know it has been
- 3:45Speaker 1: my quest ever since I was a little boy. My
- 3:48Speaker 1: father had one ambition, son, I don't care what you do,
- 3:53Speaker 1: but when I get through raising you, you will be
- 3:57Speaker 1: a man. That's all I want you to be. And
- 3:58Speaker 1: he never cared what idea for a living and never
- 4:01Speaker 1: made a difference to him. You're going to be a man.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Manhood is difficult. Now, Ladies that listening to this, I'm
- 4:07Speaker 1: not saying womanhood ain't. I don't know what it takes
- 4:11Speaker 1: to be a woman, so you know, but I do
- 4:14Speaker 1: know exactly what it takes to be a man. So
- 4:17Speaker 1: you know, sometimes when you talk to people on the radio,
- 4:20Speaker 1: you have to preface things because people are just go
- 4:23Speaker 1: he trying to make it look like womanhood. Ain't. No,
- 4:25Speaker 1: That's not what I'm doing. I'm just talking to men
- 4:28Speaker 1: today to explain to them that daign by their self
- 4:31Speaker 1: and struggling trying to figure this thing out, that you
- 4:34Speaker 1: are not alone in your quest for manhood. That is difficult,
- 4:39Speaker 1: I gotta tell you, man manhood is that kind of difficult,
- 4:44Speaker 1: and it becomes even more compounded if a young boy
- 4:48Speaker 1: does not have a male role model. I've said it
- 4:52Speaker 1: a thousand times, I'll say it again. A young boy
- 4:55Speaker 1: without a male role model is like an explorer without
- 4:58Speaker 1: a map. While I have a suggestion for everybody that's
- 5:02Speaker 1: struggling with manhood and all of the men out there
- 5:05Speaker 1: that are men. This message is for all of us,
- 5:08Speaker 1: and it's for me too. You know. I was listening
- 5:10Speaker 1: to Joyce Myers the other day and she made a statement.
- 5:15Speaker 1: She said, sometimes you gotta do the right thing even
- 5:18Speaker 1: when it feels wrong. You know. One of the difficulties
- 5:22Speaker 1: of manhood is pure pressure and the misguided principles of manhood.
- 5:30Speaker 1: See what God wants us to be as men and
- 5:36Speaker 1: what we believe manhood is sometimes two different things. Give
- 5:40Speaker 1: you an example. I wrote this book for women, right
- 5:43Speaker 1: and I was telling them the three ways that a
- 5:46Speaker 1: man shows his love, and I call him three peas.
- 5:50Speaker 1: We profess, we protect, and we provide every man who
- 5:55Speaker 1: is a man, that's how he exhibits love. When I
- 5:58Speaker 1: talkie talkie offerting with our great nurturists. But when it
- 6:02Speaker 1: comes down to to it, what we all want to do,
- 6:05Speaker 1: what is in our day DNA, is to profess our
- 6:08Speaker 1: love for something you as a woman, to protect you
- 6:11Speaker 1: as a woman, and to provide for you as a woman.
- 6:13Speaker 1: That's in our DNA. Now, sometimes that gets messed up,
- 6:17Speaker 1: and I'll give you an example. Sometimes when a boy
- 6:21Speaker 1: doesn't have the proper, real role model in his life,
- 6:24Speaker 1: he takes that principle of love that we all possessing
- 6:27Speaker 1: us every man, the professing part, the protecting, and in
- 6:30Speaker 1: the providing part, and we misplay it. That's why gangs exist.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Gangs exist off those three principles. What's the first thing
- 6:39Speaker 1: a gang member do? He professed he claim a hood.
- 6:43Speaker 1: That's the first thing you do. That's my neighborhood. I'm
- 6:46Speaker 1: Duce's trade, I'm triple h I'm due de dude, I'm purple,
- 6:50Speaker 1: I'm red, I'm blue. The first thing they do is claim.
- 6:53Speaker 1: That's professing. That's how we show our love. But it's
- 6:56Speaker 1: misguided though. Now we're professing something that ain't even good
- 7:01Speaker 1: for us. Your hood, your game, your click. Now, guess what.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Now we got to protect it. So now as a
- 7:09Speaker 1: protection part of our love, here we go. You come
- 7:13Speaker 1: down here, we're gonna do this to you. You go
- 7:16Speaker 1: over there, they're gonna do that to you. You protect
- 7:19Speaker 1: your hood, This your turf. This is all you got.
- 7:21Speaker 1: You ain't nobody coming down here with blue owned. Can't
- 7:23Speaker 1: nobody come over here with red on. You can't come
- 7:25Speaker 1: over here with purple on. You can't come over here
- 7:27Speaker 1: with black and gold on. And we and we protect
- 7:29Speaker 1: that because that's in our DNA. And then what's the
- 7:33Speaker 1: third thing we provide? So guess what the game need money?
- 7:36Speaker 1: Guess what we do. We're selling drugs, we're selling women,
- 7:41Speaker 1: we're selling guns. It go back to the same thing. Man,
- 7:45Speaker 1: I don't know how God gave it to me that
- 7:47Speaker 1: way when I was writing a book, but he showed
- 7:49Speaker 1: it to me along the way. That's how men love well.
- 7:52Speaker 1: When you don't have a role model in your life.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Guess what now that love is misplaced, it's misguided, it's
- 7:57Speaker 1: off track. Ain't no man told you that. Really you're
- 8:00Speaker 1: supposed to take this love and give it to a woman.
- 8:03Speaker 1: You're really supposed to profess, protect and provide for a woman,
- 8:07Speaker 1: not your gang set. Now you're professing your hood, wrapping
- 8:11Speaker 1: a color, you protecting your territory, shooting people driving by
- 8:15Speaker 1: coming over you on your street, and then you provide.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Now you are here selling drugs and guns for the
- 8:19Speaker 1: same thing. When a boy does not have a male
- 8:22Speaker 1: role model, he has a misguided way of looking at manhood.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Here's a deal. See, God created all of us in
- 8:31Speaker 1: his image. That means He's put some of our DNA
- 8:34Speaker 1: in him. That's why it's in your DNA to profess, protect,
- 8:38Speaker 1: and provide because guess what, that's what God do for us,
- 8:42Speaker 1: because we His children. I'm just talking to men right now.
- 8:46Speaker 1: I'm just telling you man, I had to wake up
- 8:48Speaker 1: about five years ago. I wasn't doing what God wanted
- 8:52Speaker 1: me to do, and then he shook me. He said, man,
- 8:55Speaker 1: I'm gonna bring about some changes in your life. I'm
- 8:57Speaker 1: gonna cause some things to happen that's gonna put you
- 9:00Speaker 1: in a position in this time. You're gonna listen to me,
- 9:03Speaker 1: because if you don't, you're gonna keep living in this
- 9:06Speaker 1: pain you've been in. But you put yourself in this pain.
- 9:09Speaker 1: I own no blame to no one else but myself.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Please know, I know that. And that's how you really
- 9:15Speaker 1: get to manhood when you figure out what you hadn't
- 9:18Speaker 1: done wrong. You can't blame this on none of your
- 9:20Speaker 1: exes because you are a man. You can't go my
- 9:22Speaker 1: ex dear this. No, No, you're a man, pardner. You
- 9:25Speaker 1: got to take responsibility for yours and yours alone. If
- 9:29Speaker 1: you got kids, you got to get to them some
- 9:32Speaker 1: kind of way. Write him a letter, send them the money.
- 9:35Speaker 1: If she won't let you see it, for the money, whatever,
- 9:37Speaker 1: send the money to a mama. Do what you're supposed
- 9:40Speaker 1: to do as a man. Do what God want you
- 9:43Speaker 1: to do, man, because he's not letting us off the
- 9:46Speaker 1: hook for what we're supposed to be just because you
- 9:49Speaker 1: ain't doing it. And if you do it, you turn
- 9:51Speaker 1: your life around. Just holding that the fellas today that
- 9:54Speaker 1: saw sorry about that. You're listening, ladies and gentlemen, let
- 10:02Speaker 1: me have your undivided attention. It's Monday morning. So today
- 10:06Speaker 1: I thought I would dedicate the show to Peel groups. Wow,
- 10:11Speaker 1: what anybody that came in on the Mayflower or the
- 10:17Speaker 1: Senior Reader or the pinyarda either one of them, I
- 10:22Speaker 1: don't know the names other ships or the spaniarda Pinto.
- 10:31Speaker 1: That's you don't even know how they got here because
- 10:35Speaker 1: I don't even because I don't mean it, because I
- 10:39Speaker 1: don't mean it. I don't care nothing about them. Peel groups.
- 10:43Speaker 1: They land still in asses so over here the end
- 10:47Speaker 1: of ship, let their ass stall set over. Being saved
- 10:50Speaker 1: their life, and then they took their whole damn country
- 10:53Speaker 1: from anyway. Good morning, Shirley, Good morning. Steve Junior's out
- 10:58Speaker 1: today is callin for rel I am here, Happy Monday. Cool.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Tommy's out today, Jay Anthony Brown. Nothing messes up a
- 11:09Speaker 1: weekend like a Monday. What's going on, Steve? There's a question,
- 11:16Speaker 1: go ahead, a question for you, just a question. You
- 11:19Speaker 1: know your nephew has his golf tournament this weekend. He
- 11:23Speaker 1: had it today. Actually, he had the reception last night
- 11:27Speaker 1: at the chateau. How come you didn't go to his
- 11:29Speaker 1: golf tournament because I was working? First of all, let
- 11:33Speaker 1: me start the time. I didn't know he had a
- 11:35Speaker 1: golf tournament. Secondly, he didn't invite me to the golf tournament.
- 11:40Speaker 1: What do you mean he didn't invite you? He didn't
- 11:43Speaker 1: invite me to the golf tournament. A matter of fact,
- 11:45Speaker 1: I didn't even know it. What's today? I didn't know
- 11:47Speaker 1: that was a reception at the chateau the night before?
- 11:50Speaker 1: And who do that? What do you mean? Who do that?
- 11:54Speaker 1: All of the stuff is after the golf tournament? This
- 11:57Speaker 1: is so, asked bag So. And I'm with you, Steve.
- 12:01Speaker 1: How long you got to be on this show to
- 12:03Speaker 1: get invited any damn thing he does? Because he invited
- 12:05Speaker 1: me either, And I'm on team you didn't go? No,
- 12:10Speaker 1: I wasn't invited. But I wasn't invited. But surely you
- 12:16Speaker 1: don't have to be a golf player to be invited.
- 12:18Speaker 1: How well do I know that? As many of your
- 12:20Speaker 1: golf tournaments? And right because I invite you, but Tommy didn't.
- 12:25Speaker 1: Did he invite you? No? Hello, Junior either didn't invite
- 12:29Speaker 1: Junior either. Junior and invited Halla, did you get an invite?
- 12:34Speaker 1: I did not. No, he've already asked, you know why,
- 12:38Speaker 1: because y'all ain't good enough to be out at the chateau. Whoa, wow,
- 12:45Speaker 1: that is what it is, though, But you ain't going
- 12:49Speaker 1: out there with the golf tournament people low level? Is
- 12:53Speaker 1: he ashamed of us or something? He might be? Yeah,
- 12:55Speaker 1: because he didn't run off a bunch of fancy schmancy
- 12:59Speaker 1: people that were there. Error. Yeah, yeah, man, you know
- 13:04Speaker 1: he gets Bullishie. I think we do embarrass him. All
- 13:07Speaker 1: it was was a bunch of shot ask people out
- 13:09Speaker 1: here your golf. That's that's probably all it is. That's
- 13:14Speaker 1: the other reason he don't let me call because his
- 13:16Speaker 1: miniature playing put putt. All right, coming up at thirty
- 13:22Speaker 1: two after the hour, we're gonna find what else the
- 13:24Speaker 1: crew did over the weekend? Right after this you're listening show. Okay,
- 13:32Speaker 1: so it's Monday. Everybody have a good weekend? Yeah? Did
- 13:37Speaker 1: I have a good weekend? Did did the Browns win?
- 13:50Speaker 1: That's why Tommy and really ain't here. Oh he didn't
- 13:53Speaker 1: want to hear it. Oh, hey, I'm out, Junior Evil
- 13:59Speaker 1: the Texans law. Yeah, and the Browns war so they off, yeah,
- 14:05Speaker 1: really won, I mean they won, they won. When let
- 14:14Speaker 1: me let me see how this how what's the best
- 14:16Speaker 1: way to put it to you? You get up in
- 14:20Speaker 1: the morning, sitting on the edge of the bed, the
- 14:24Speaker 1: fairy god mother that left an envelope on the knife stand.
- 14:29Speaker 1: You open it up and it's twenty five thousand dollars. Whoa,
- 14:35Speaker 1: that's a very good weekend, Jack Pott. Yes, that's how. Yeah,
- 14:43Speaker 1: like the fairy god mother had had an envelope NiFe
- 14:47Speaker 1: stand with an excessive amount of cash. Wow. So how
- 14:50Speaker 1: I mean, are you like the other fans? How do
- 14:53Speaker 1: you get into the game? I mean, do you really
- 14:55Speaker 1: get into it like that? No? No, I have something
- 15:00Speaker 1: with Cleveland Browns on it. Yeah. Yeah, but I can't
- 15:04Speaker 1: watch the game because I'm in LA and all they
- 15:08Speaker 1: watching these ragged ass rams and they suck Charger Steve. Okay, no,
- 15:13Speaker 1: so I watched, you know, I say what I want
- 15:15Speaker 1: to say. You know, they'll put all day these two
- 15:18Speaker 1: little punk ass hometown game and LA is not a
- 15:21Speaker 1: football town. Stadium half as full and the stadium half
- 15:27Speaker 1: as full. They don't care nothing but about the Lakers.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Other than that, man, they don't care a pin there.
- 15:38Speaker 1: So you know, did you watch any other games? Did
- 15:41Speaker 1: you watch um Odell Beckham? You saw that game with
- 15:43Speaker 1: Odell Beckham got the choked out. You saw that, didn't you?
- 15:46Speaker 1: That's the Cleveland game? And man, what what what supports
- 15:51Speaker 1: you follow? I'm asking did you see it? No? I didn't.
- 15:54Speaker 1: I didn't see any of that because they don't show
- 15:57Speaker 1: it out you. All I saw was the NFL Alive,
- 16:00Speaker 1: you know where you watch all the games and see
- 16:02Speaker 1: the scores and highlights. That's all I saw. And they
- 16:06Speaker 1: don't have that all pass that you can get out here.
- 16:09Speaker 1: I'll be damn. I forgot. I got the esping. I
- 16:14Speaker 1: mean what my son put it on my computer when
- 16:20Speaker 1: I could watch all the games, the games, all the
- 16:23Speaker 1: Browns and games, and I forgot. I thought, for sure
- 16:27Speaker 1: you saw Odell Beckham get thrown to the ground and choking,
- 16:30Speaker 1: lose his ear ring. I'm thought, sure that's what he said. Yeah,
- 16:34Speaker 1: that's what it ain't really what I'm watching the games
- 16:42Speaker 1: when it happened, Steve, I just he lost, he got
- 16:47Speaker 1: into he got into a scuffle with the defender right
- 16:52Speaker 1: and they're doing Yeah, calling each other names, picked him
- 16:56Speaker 1: up through into the ground, was choking him. And when
- 16:59Speaker 1: Old gotta Be said, he lost his ear rings, so
- 17:02Speaker 1: I can yeah put him in a joke. Well real quick,
- 17:07Speaker 1: I mean pretty Uh did you do get throughout the
- 17:12Speaker 1: game or anything? No, he didn't get thrown out of
- 17:15Speaker 1: the game. No, No, they were They were both going
- 17:17Speaker 1: at it each other. So he got the best of Odell. Wow,
- 17:22Speaker 1: I'm real with a quickness Baltimore. And then he lost
- 17:26Speaker 1: his ring. He loves his ring. Well, good thing, ain't
- 17:29Speaker 1: had watch the same guy with the watch. Yeah, him
- 17:35Speaker 1: as him he likes his jewelry. Huh oh yeah. But
- 17:39Speaker 1: he did apologize. He did apologize. Marlin Humphrey did apologize,
- 17:43Speaker 1: So Dell Backham. They said, I'm sorry, I'm sorry my
- 17:48Speaker 1: head around you about to kill you. I'm sorry. I
- 17:52Speaker 1: don't know how. I'm sorry. I tried to kill you.
- 17:59Speaker 1: That is a football so mouth. And so you think
- 18:07Speaker 1: the Browns are going to the Super Bowl Baseball, Hey,
- 18:13Speaker 1: I'm no, we are going to no damn super Bowl. Man,
- 18:15Speaker 1: Come on, what you're talking about. We try and win
- 18:18Speaker 1: in nine games ten and I'll be over joy. Yeah,
- 18:22Speaker 1: We're not going to the Super Bowl. If we do,
- 18:25Speaker 1: I'm at to quit my job. Why because I y'alling
- 18:31Speaker 1: gonna to stay me No, damn. And I might do
- 18:37Speaker 1: NFL Honors Man again. Oh nice last year? Yea, oh
- 18:42Speaker 1: doctor Browns being the Super Bowl Man? Please, how many
- 18:46Speaker 1: wins would you settle for? Steve? Please? It did tell
- 18:49Speaker 1: me a good season. If you could get ten wins,
- 18:51Speaker 1: be excellent. Okay. I think I think, man, we can
- 18:55Speaker 1: win the division really yeah, because it sucks except for Baltimore.
- 19:00Speaker 1: What do you mean? I mean we beat Baltimore yesterday
- 19:04Speaker 1: and Baltimore was the team, man, and we got past Baltimore.
- 19:08Speaker 1: I think I think we're gonna beat Cincinnati. That's my prayer.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Cincinnati and U and Steve list we can beat them
- 19:15Speaker 1: two games. How people say we fan, he's a fan,
- 19:21Speaker 1: he's a superfan. He's not just a superfan. Yeah. It's
- 19:29Speaker 1: a great weekend for us. So you know, we had
- 19:31Speaker 1: a great time this weekend out and Shirley, Yes, sir,
- 19:36Speaker 1: Me and Marjorie sat down and watched Dave Chappellos Final
- 19:41Speaker 1: Netflix b Did you love it? Boy, boy, brilliant boy.
- 19:55Speaker 1: We've been trying to get Steve to watch it, seriously, Man,
- 19:58Speaker 1: I sat down. I'll tell you, buddy, when y'all asked me,
- 20:02Speaker 1: I need more town because I got just there. Sisterly, seriously, man,
- 20:10Speaker 1: if I say any of that, my whole career is gone.
- 20:16Speaker 1: They've pulling me off the radio, TV, everything I have, dog,
- 20:22Speaker 1: I have nothing. This radio show is over. Yeah, all right?
- 20:26Speaker 1: Coming up next, church complaints with Reverend Motown and special
- 20:30Speaker 1: guest Reverend Adnoid with church complaints as well, right after
- 20:36Speaker 1: the you're listening coming up at the top of the hour,
- 20:41Speaker 1: and entertainment news. The political world gave Saturday Night Live
- 20:46Speaker 1: a lot to work with for the show season premier.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Oh wow, yeah yeah. And then we're gonna talk about
- 20:57Speaker 1: Kanye West, who has been on the move. He's been
- 21:00Speaker 1: to the Chicago, Detroit, and Queens, New York. We'll talk
- 21:04Speaker 1: about that at the top of the hour. Right now,
- 21:06Speaker 1: it's Monday time for church complaints with Reverend Motown and
- 21:09Speaker 1: special guests Red Adam. We were him. Oh, Deacon death
- 21:19Speaker 1: Jab is out or due to a conflict or schedule.
- 21:27Speaker 1: In his place is my oldest brother who has been
- 21:37Speaker 1: a minister far alonger than me, and his days is numb.
- 21:40Speaker 1: But now, ladies and gentlemen, please welcome in spa digon death. Jeb.
- 21:45Speaker 1: You can hear him breathe it in the background. Please
- 21:48Speaker 1: put your hands in the nostrils together or Reverend ad
- 21:52Speaker 1: noyvoted everybody taking his place. He's out doing something that
- 22:02Speaker 1: nobody knows what it is he's doing. But he's not here,
- 22:05Speaker 1: so I will be doing church complaints. Church. I'm fine,
- 22:12Speaker 1: this is clear. This is a clear day for me.
- 22:14Speaker 1: Why does it sound clock blood? Sound clock up? Does
- 22:19Speaker 1: that sound congestion? Well, I'm not I'm not at all.
- 22:23Speaker 1: I'm not at all. This is fine. We have we
- 22:28Speaker 1: have several complaints from church members in the church, they
- 22:31Speaker 1: would like for the pastor to let them know at
- 22:34Speaker 1: the beginning of the service, maybe outside and in the
- 22:37Speaker 1: parking lot, or maybe they could get a text how
- 22:40Speaker 1: long the service is gonna be and they can set
- 22:43Speaker 1: their watches to make an adjustment, you know what I'm saying.
- 22:46Speaker 1: So if it's gonna be forty five minutes and let
- 22:48Speaker 1: them know what he's gonna be an hour and a half.
- 22:50Speaker 1: If it's gonna be shore, let him know. Because is
- 22:52Speaker 1: there any way the pastor could do that to let
- 22:54Speaker 1: them know how long the service is gonna be well,
- 22:58Speaker 1: if you always are letting me know how much y'all
- 23:03Speaker 1: is gonna put in this offering, I could tell you
- 23:09Speaker 1: how long I feel is necessary to be up here.
- 23:15Speaker 1: You know, I'm I'm I'm preaching for dollars flowing. To
- 23:22Speaker 1: be exact, you're reading for flowing dollars, not dollars. You
- 23:26Speaker 1: won't flowing dollars, right, So if y'all would please tell
- 23:30Speaker 1: me what the end results is gonna be, I can
- 23:35Speaker 1: therefore then tell you how long let me because you
- 23:37Speaker 1: if you're gonna give enough, we can skip sermon, all girl,
- 23:41Speaker 1: we can get onto the high. I won't watch a
- 23:43Speaker 1: game two you would like? You would like to be
- 23:45Speaker 1: about of that too? O Hell, I'm in here because
- 23:48Speaker 1: we got to be all right, all right. Several several
- 23:53Speaker 1: of the diabetic numbers of the church have been complaining
- 23:58Speaker 1: that the ht iss too damned sweet, too damn sweet?
- 24:03Speaker 1: Is anything you can do about it to cut back
- 24:05Speaker 1: on it? The diabetics and they can't think it and
- 24:08Speaker 1: they can't walk past it. I'm confused because two diabets
- 24:16Speaker 1: makes the teeth so nah, you take one to no
- 24:24Speaker 1: one in order for it to be sweet. You got
- 24:30Speaker 1: to have been involved with sweets. Sweet bi gets sweet.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Come on, you know I'm saying it take a diabetic
- 24:48Speaker 1: to recognize adopted. You can't be a diabetic without putting
- 24:55Speaker 1: sugar in the teeth. Man again, Amen again, come on,
- 25:06Speaker 1: all right. The two church members, women Mary Kennedy, Willmen
- 25:11Speaker 1: and Mary Kennedy have been telling people that they are
- 25:15Speaker 1: biblical and they can heal people. What I need you
- 25:18Speaker 1: to do is put a stop to it. They're not
- 25:20Speaker 1: biblical at all. They can't heal nobody. They just have
- 25:23Speaker 1: biblical name Willamen and Mary Kennedy. They're not biblical and
- 25:28Speaker 1: they've been healing people. Listen to me, William and Mary
- 25:34Speaker 1: Kennedy is not biblical. They okay, Okay, Kennedy she that
- 25:44Speaker 1: ain't that ain't biblical. That's political and that's why they
- 25:50Speaker 1: ain't doing a damn thing they say they're gonna be
- 25:57Speaker 1: if these two politicians right here, all right, we have
- 26:00Speaker 1: we have another and William in the Bible. Norha that
- 26:04Speaker 1: William Shakespeare. Okay. A lot of the we have another complaint,
- 26:15Speaker 1: A lot of the members who have problems reading in church.
- 26:18Speaker 1: Not me, I'm signed, not me. I'm speaking on behalf
- 26:22Speaker 1: of other people with life. For you to spread a
- 26:25Speaker 1: little some oxygen tanks all around the church close by
- 26:29Speaker 1: so they could get to them real quick. It would
- 26:30Speaker 1: that be possible. Do you see that in the budget? Anyway? Possible?
- 26:35Speaker 1: But we got to raise money. So what I propose
- 26:39Speaker 1: is oxygen tanks the choir or dollar. So you're gonna
- 26:47Speaker 1: come in here with the illness someone that's gonna profit. Okay,
- 26:52Speaker 1: if you ain't got the dollars, we ain't got no
- 26:55Speaker 1: our okay, all right, come on now, all right, this
- 27:01Speaker 1: is nothing for me the other other members of the church.
- 27:05Speaker 1: There has been a lot of throat clearing, people clearing
- 27:08Speaker 1: their throats, and the members of the church are wondering,
- 27:11Speaker 1: isn't anyway anyway you can put all them in one
- 27:15Speaker 1: section of the church so they don't have to hear you.
- 27:22Speaker 1: Could you put them in the still over room. It's
- 27:25Speaker 1: a lot of a lot of throat well a lot
- 27:29Speaker 1: of them because evolved. The missionaries have been going down
- 27:34Speaker 1: to the strip clubs to save souls and some of
- 27:38Speaker 1: the outfits that are any here now on Sunday sit
- 27:43Speaker 1: making it. I had deacon behind me, boy look at
- 27:52Speaker 1: him as they come around for offerings. I think that
- 27:56Speaker 1: has nothing to do with the clothes. It's more of
- 27:59Speaker 1: a like like Luke Hill, I will speak with him
- 28:03Speaker 1: and just trying to go more like something like that,
- 28:09Speaker 1: like that, you know, instead of yeah yeah, yeah cool,
- 28:15Speaker 1: we all see them. Yeah him too. One of my
- 28:21Speaker 1: favorite right there. I like I like this right here,
- 28:29Speaker 1: Cook called him. All right, thank you, Reverend Motown and
- 28:33Speaker 1: your brother especial guests, Reverend ad Knowed with the church
- 28:36Speaker 1: complaints today coming up at the top of the hour,
- 28:39Speaker 1: Entertainment and National News. Right after this, you're listening Morning
- 28:45Speaker 1: Show and Today's entertainment News, The Political World Game Saturday
- 28:51Speaker 1: Night Live. A whole lot to look forward to and
- 28:54Speaker 1: work with this season. For the premiere, it would start
- 28:58Speaker 1: stutted with Woody Harrelson laying Joe Biden Maya Rudolph returned
- 29:02Speaker 1: as Kamala Harris, and of course Larry David as Bernie Sanders.
- 29:06Speaker 1: Alec Baldwin is back in his role as Donald Trump
- 29:11Speaker 1: and he is freaking out about the impeachment. Take a listen,
- 29:16Speaker 1: give me Rudy Giuliani on the phone. I am mister Trump.
- 29:20Speaker 1: What's new? What do you mean? What's new? Rudy? I'm
- 29:23Speaker 1: being impeached. It's the greatest presidential harassment of old time.
- 29:29Speaker 1: I would know. I'm like the president of harassment Trump.
- 29:34Speaker 1: We've got nothing to worry about. Nobody's gonna find out
- 29:37Speaker 1: about our illegal side dealings with the Ukraine? Good? Or
- 29:41Speaker 1: have we tried to cover up those side dealings great?
- 29:45Speaker 1: Or are we planning to cover up the cover up?
- 29:47Speaker 1: Rudy Rudy will value right now. I'm on CNN right now. Seriously, man,
- 29:59Speaker 1: when you listen to Giuliano's uh, Chiliani's confession to Chris
- 30:07Speaker 1: Cromo then a mission. First he said he didn't, then
- 30:10Speaker 1: he admitted it. I mean, man, this guy's like in
- 30:13Speaker 1: a real It's just sad the political climate. They don't
- 30:18Speaker 1: care the Republicans. I'm done because they can stop saying
- 30:22Speaker 1: they care about the beloved Constitution because they don't, because
- 30:26Speaker 1: they're allowing this man to walk all over it. Because
- 30:29Speaker 1: that's all this is. If they don't play any card.
- 30:33Speaker 1: They've always played the constitution card when it comes to
- 30:36Speaker 1: keeping these gun sales alive. They throw that second moment
- 30:40Speaker 1: in their face in a heartbeat. But now when it
- 30:42Speaker 1: comes down to this president who clearly has used his
- 30:47Speaker 1: political office for help him with the political campaign. Uh,
- 30:53Speaker 1: they don't. They don't want to use the constitution. No, No,
- 31:00Speaker 1: it's amazing. I mean seriously, they said an sciously do
- 31:04Speaker 1: you know what I've heard Republicans saying all he should
- 31:07Speaker 1: get is a slap on the risk, a slap on
- 31:09Speaker 1: the risk, just say to say, elementary school if this
- 31:13Speaker 1: been a farmer, Oh my god. But you know, there's
- 31:17Speaker 1: two types of Republicans, Steve. There's a there's a public Republican,
- 31:20Speaker 1: and then there's the back room Republican. And they talk
- 31:23Speaker 1: different when they're on camera as opposed to when they're
- 31:25Speaker 1: off camera. Because they don't really like drump They really
- 31:28Speaker 1: don't like them. But he's what they got. An siously, man,
- 31:34Speaker 1: and listen to me. You could give them that they
- 31:36Speaker 1: do stick together. They you can't tell me that you
- 31:40Speaker 1: think this guy is a great president, right, right. You
- 31:43Speaker 1: can't be a thinking person and go he's a great president.
- 31:50Speaker 1: You just can't, right, I agree, All right, We're gonna
- 31:53Speaker 1: move on here. And other entertainment news, Kanye West has
- 31:56Speaker 1: been on the move guys. First, he was in Chicago
- 31:58Speaker 1: with Chance the Rapper, than he went on to Detroit
- 32:01Speaker 1: on Friday, where he met with thousands of his fans
- 32:04Speaker 1: before his concert at the Aretha Franklin Amphitheater. I love
- 32:07Speaker 1: the name of that Aretha Franklin Amphitheater. Then on yesterday,
- 32:12Speaker 1: Uh Sunday, Kanye was in Jamaica Queens at the Greater
- 32:15Speaker 1: allen Ame Cathedral of New York and service Baby was rocking.
- 32:22Speaker 1: Fans are so excited about Kanye's Jesus Is King, a
- 32:25Speaker 1: Kanye West experience. Kanye also has teamed up with Imax.
- 32:30Speaker 1: He'll release a documentary Jesus Is King in Theaters coming October.
- 32:39Speaker 1: All not at all, I got news, Frane. Jesus is Key.
- 32:44Speaker 1: Yes he is, Yes, yes, And thanks to Kanye for
- 32:48Speaker 1: bringing them to mainstream and taking a you know the message.
- 32:52Speaker 1: All right. See, we gotta move on. Let's time for
- 32:54Speaker 1: today's headlines. Ladies and gentlemen, Miss and Trip, thank you
- 32:58Speaker 1: very much, and good morning, Good Monday morning, everybody out there.
- 33:01Speaker 1: House Democrats go forward with their official impeachment Froben to
- 33:04Speaker 1: President Trump today. The investigation that comes on the heels
- 33:07Speaker 1: of that anonymous whistleblower complaint that accuses Trump of pressuring
- 33:11Speaker 1: the president of the Ukraine to investigate his expected presidential
- 33:14Speaker 1: rival Joe Biden and Biden's sons dealings in the Ukraine
- 33:18Speaker 1: while holding up millions in military aid that was promised
- 33:21Speaker 1: to that country. However, Trump, by way of Twitter video,
- 33:23Speaker 1: calls it all the single greatest scam in the history
- 33:26Speaker 1: of American politics. All very simple. They're trying to stop
- 33:30Speaker 1: me because I'm fighting for you, and I'll never let
- 33:34Speaker 1: that happen. Well, how Speaker Nancy Pelosi says in making
- 33:37Speaker 1: the decision to investigate, nothing was simple, But she says
- 33:41Speaker 1: it did all become crystal that a president of the
- 33:43Speaker 1: United States would withhold military assistance, which was paid for
- 33:48Speaker 1: by taxpayer money, to effectively shake down the leader of
- 33:52Speaker 1: another country unless he did him a favor. This is
- 33:57Speaker 1: so clear. According to the latest ABC News if So's pole,
- 34:01Speaker 1: seventeen percent of Americans ask said they're actually surprised. That
- 34:06Speaker 1: said that they were actually surprised by the president's alleged actions,
- 34:09Speaker 1: only seventeen percent. Nearly two thirds of Americans believed that
- 34:12Speaker 1: President Trump's encouragement of a leader of a foreign country
- 34:16Speaker 1: was a serious problem. By the way, actor Robert de
- 34:19Speaker 1: Niro was asked about a beginning formal impeachment investigations. This week,
- 34:24Speaker 1: DeNiro said that although he's not exactly fond of the Donal,
- 34:28Speaker 1: that he did really try to be open to him.
- 34:33Speaker 1: He DeNiro was on CNN's Reliable Sources, and he was
- 34:36Speaker 1: saying that he tried to be you know, tried to
- 34:38Speaker 1: give the guy a chance, but it just didn't work.
- 34:40Speaker 1: Just didn't work. In any case, a town in Mississippi
- 34:43Speaker 1: arguing that the cops who shot and killed a Latino
- 34:46Speaker 1: man two years ago during a raid in the wrong
- 34:48Speaker 1: apartment are not liable for any charges because the victim
- 34:52Speaker 1: was an illegal immigrant at that mail ifmail. Lopez was
- 34:56Speaker 1: killed in a twenty seventeen in South Haven, Mississippi's family
- 34:59Speaker 1: has found a civil suit asking for twenty million bucks.
- 35:02Speaker 1: The Supreme Court has ruled a number of times in
- 35:04Speaker 1: any person on US soil, any person, no matter their
- 35:08Speaker 1: immigration status, is protected by the US Constitution. Lawi's for
- 35:12Speaker 1: South Haven claimed things should be otherwise, especially since Lopez
- 35:15Speaker 1: had been arrested in the past for domestic violence and
- 35:18Speaker 1: for driving under the influence. So we'll stay tuned to
- 35:20Speaker 1: this case. Latin music icon Jose Jose has died. Jose
- 35:24Speaker 1: Jose repoorly lost to battle against pancread a cancer at
- 35:27Speaker 1: age eighty, had a beautiful voice. In fact, one of
- 35:30Speaker 1: his fans believed it or not, was Frank Sinatra. That's right, Jose,
- 35:33Speaker 1: Jose eighty years old and today is get back to
- 35:36Speaker 1: the job day. That's right. You better will work if
- 35:40Speaker 1: you can. It's six fifty well nine. Anyway, Now back
- 35:43Speaker 1: to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. You're listening to show
- 35:49Speaker 1: and trending political news. Robert de Niro obviously had a
- 35:53Speaker 1: lot more to say about the possible impeachment of President Trump.
- 35:57Speaker 1: De Niro was on Brian's Stelterer's Relaule Sources show on
- 36:01Speaker 1: Sunday Morning. He was a special guest where he was
- 36:03Speaker 1: asked about the impeachment inquiry opened against President Trump. Take
- 36:07Speaker 1: a listen to what de Niro had to say, Folks
- 36:10Speaker 1: on Fox, come after you. I remember the Tonys when
- 36:12Speaker 1: he got up there and cursed. Okay, well you know
- 36:16Speaker 1: this is kay So it's not an FCC violation, but
- 36:19Speaker 1: it is still a Sunday morning. Well, choose to go
- 36:22Speaker 1: that say something? Why do about We are at a
- 36:25Speaker 1: moment in our lives in this country where this guy
- 36:29Speaker 1: is like a gangster, He's come along, and he's said
- 36:32Speaker 1: things done things. We say over and over again. This
- 36:35Speaker 1: is terrible. We're in a terrible situation. Robert de Niro,
- 36:40Speaker 1: yea saying so many of us. Here's the deal. The
- 36:45Speaker 1: president could say what he want to say. Oh yeah,
- 36:47Speaker 1: but the moment you say something, here comes all the
- 36:50Speaker 1: checks and bounds. When he was talking about grabbing a
- 36:53Speaker 1: woman boy the p on the bus, where was that right? Well,
- 36:56Speaker 1: it costs bully Billy Bush his job for laughing. He
- 37:00Speaker 1: in the White House. When he calls all those women
- 37:03Speaker 1: out there name, He's still in the White House. When
- 37:06Speaker 1: he refers to this Native American woman as polka hunnas,
- 37:10Speaker 1: She's still in the White House. I mean, look, man,
- 37:13Speaker 1: when you when you when when you when you when
- 37:15Speaker 1: you separate these Latino children from their parents, and now
- 37:19Speaker 1: you can't match him back up, He's still in the
- 37:22Speaker 1: White House. Yeah, where's the outrage then? Yeah? And you
- 37:26Speaker 1: and you know, Steve just a side. Now Billy Bush
- 37:29Speaker 1: is back on TV as a he has a job
- 37:31Speaker 1: with extra Now he's back on he's back. But it
- 37:35Speaker 1: took a long time. Yeah, like three yeah, yeah. I
- 37:40Speaker 1: think he got a divorce in all of this. I
- 37:42Speaker 1: think marriage broke up. But he never should have been
- 37:44Speaker 1: off TV. No, yeah, you know, he never should have
- 37:48Speaker 1: been off. Yeah. But when you say something about him,
- 37:53Speaker 1: like you said, people get upset man, and he gets upset. Yeah,
- 37:59Speaker 1: he can't get right. Yeah. I love how Robert de
- 38:02Speaker 1: Niro said blank Fox. Yeah. But you know what, it's
- 38:08Speaker 1: almost like if it were any other president, because they're presidential,
- 38:13Speaker 1: you at least have respect for the office, and you
- 38:16Speaker 1: maybe wouldn't say that what Robert Genniro said. But Donald
- 38:21Speaker 1: Trump doesn't have that kind He doesn't he doesn't even
- 38:25Speaker 1: have the vocabillary of the president. I'm so tired of
- 38:29Speaker 1: being able to understand everything he said. It's just hardening.
- 38:34Speaker 1: It's gonna be really good. It's gonna be terrific. It's
- 38:37Speaker 1: gonna be one very very it's very very very well. Yeah,
- 38:43Speaker 1: you're gonna like this a lot. I mean a lot,
- 38:46Speaker 1: really a lot. Oh man, come on, man, it stand
- 38:50Speaker 1: for cavalry man, like the high school student running for
- 38:53Speaker 1: president of student counsel. Yeah. Coming up at thirty four
- 38:57Speaker 1: after the hour and trending national news, execution rests in
- 39:01Speaker 1: the Dallas cup Amber Geiger's murder trial. We'll talk about that.
- 39:06Speaker 1: When we come back right after this, you're listening to
- 39:10Speaker 1: show the former Dallas police officer Amber Geiger is standing trial,
- 39:15Speaker 1: we know for the murder in the shooting death of
- 39:17Speaker 1: her neighbor, twenty six year old Botham Jean. Geiger thought
- 39:21Speaker 1: mister Jehan's apartment was her own, she said when she
- 39:23Speaker 1: opened the door and shot him, mistaking him for a burglar.
- 39:28Speaker 1: Amber Geiger also admitted that she exchanged explicit text messages
- 39:32Speaker 1: with married Dallas police partner Martin Rivera. Geiger was on
- 39:36Speaker 1: the phone with Rivera when she drove to what she
- 39:39Speaker 1: believed was the third floor of the building's parking garage,
- 39:42Speaker 1: but she actually had parked on the fourth floor, where
- 39:45Speaker 1: mister Botham Jean lived. Geiger's defense attorney had argued the
- 39:49Speaker 1: layout of the apartment complex is confusing. Prosecution argued that
- 39:53Speaker 1: mister Jean was never a threat to Amber Geiger because
- 39:56Speaker 1: he was sitting on his couch eating a bowl of
- 39:59Speaker 1: ice cream People ice Cream. Prosecution also i argued that
- 40:04Speaker 1: Geiger could have done more to help both of them
- 40:06Speaker 1: John when she shot him, but instead she kept telling
- 40:09Speaker 1: the nine one one operator she was going to lose
- 40:12Speaker 1: her job. Listen to me, if you okay, Now, for
- 40:21Speaker 1: everybody looking at the case, it seems open and shut. Yea.
- 40:26Speaker 1: If this woman does not go to prison for killing
- 40:30Speaker 1: a man in his own home, for being in his
- 40:35Speaker 1: house eating ice cream, and you walk into this man's
- 40:40Speaker 1: house and you kill him and you get away with it,
- 40:45Speaker 1: and this man is black and you are a police
- 40:48Speaker 1: officer and you are white, the only thing that gets
- 40:54Speaker 1: her off of this right here is pure racist. That's
- 41:02Speaker 1: all this can be. There is. There is no case
- 41:06Speaker 1: for this. If this woman does not do time for
- 41:10Speaker 1: killing this man. This is pure racism. Yeah, I mean,
- 41:16Speaker 1: I don't know what else it could be. You can't
- 41:19Speaker 1: get any more blatant form of racism than to walk
- 41:23Speaker 1: in this black man's house and kill him while he's
- 41:25Speaker 1: eating ice cream, and your police officer and you white,
- 41:28Speaker 1: and you walk If that happens, even if he is
- 41:34Speaker 1: a burglar, he's sitting down eating a bowl of ice cream,
- 41:39Speaker 1: I don't get it. There's more that she could have
- 41:42Speaker 1: done to try to help save Yes, that's you know,
- 41:46Speaker 1: that's the issue. And they also said to Steve, one
- 41:49Speaker 1: of the detectives said that, you know, in her apartment,
- 41:55Speaker 1: in Geiger's apartment, she had a wooden board displaying photos
- 42:00Speaker 1: hanging on the wall. She had a bookshelf in the
- 42:03Speaker 1: corner house and the red welcome match outside of the door.
- 42:09Speaker 1: You know that you ed ass house, you know. And
- 42:13Speaker 1: then there was a difference in mister both of John's apartment.
- 42:18Speaker 1: So you know, when you're walking in somebody else's apartment,
- 42:22Speaker 1: you know, when you're at home, when you're at your house,
- 42:25Speaker 1: versus going in someone else's apartment. But you know, she
- 42:28Speaker 1: was on the stand and she was crying, and you know,
- 42:34Speaker 1: they trying to save her life, Yeah, trying to save Yeah,
- 42:39Speaker 1: she's trying Rule number one. When you see a black
- 42:43Speaker 1: man in your house eating ice cream, he ain't there
- 42:44Speaker 1: to rob you, Okay, he's not there to rob you.
- 42:48Speaker 1: I just I mean, you know, he was an ass
- 42:50Speaker 1: house dog y And we said that since we heard
- 42:54Speaker 1: about this case, we how do you not know your
- 42:58Speaker 1: own home? How do you not know it? How do
- 43:00Speaker 1: you not know your own home? I'm so worried about
- 43:04Speaker 1: this jury. Yeah, yes, because Steve, how many times have
- 43:10Speaker 1: we seen and opening shellcase the dy king I mean, man,
- 43:15Speaker 1: we've seen we've seen so Martin blood. To us, it's
- 43:19Speaker 1: like crazy. Trayvon Martin kill. This is utterly ridiculous. Yeah,
- 43:25Speaker 1: this dude ain't even police officer, this steak. Yeah, well,
- 43:29Speaker 1: who put him in charge or police in the neighborhood?

- 53:10Speaker 1: jam coming at your hands right now, all right, thank you,
- 53:23Speaker 1: Jeam Tommy H. Subject my mother is ruining my future.
- 53:28Speaker 1: Here Stephen Shirley. I am a black young lady in
- 53:31Speaker 1: my mid twenties, and I've been in debt since I
- 53:34Speaker 1: graduated from college in twenty sixteen. I assumed I would
- 53:38Speaker 1: be stepping out into the real world and paying a
- 53:41Speaker 1: few bills, but not as many as I have now.
- 53:43Speaker 1: While I was in college, my mom opened multiple credit
- 53:47Speaker 1: cards in my name and proceeded to max them all
- 53:51Speaker 1: out on her bills and personal items. Fast forward to today,
- 53:55Speaker 1: my credit card debt is well over eighty five hundred
- 53:59Speaker 1: dollars and I am trying to pay the minimum payments
- 54:01Speaker 1: on the bills so I can maintain a good credit score.
- 54:05Speaker 1: I have an accounting degree, but how can I tell
- 54:08Speaker 1: others how to manage money? And my finances are terrible.
- 54:11Speaker 1: I am upset and feel like I should not have
- 54:14Speaker 1: to pay these bills since I didn't open these accounts
- 54:17Speaker 1: or use the credit cards. But that's not my only problem.
- 54:21Speaker 1: I'm living with my mom rent free, so if I
- 54:24Speaker 1: complain to her about the creating this illegal credit card debt,
- 54:29Speaker 1: she tells me, I'm ungrateful and I need to be
- 54:33Speaker 1: glad that I have a roof over my head. I
- 54:35Speaker 1: would much rather pay my own rent instead of paying
- 54:37Speaker 1: all the high interest rates on all of these credit cards,
- 54:40Speaker 1: but I can't afford to. My main concern is salvaging
- 54:43Speaker 1: my credit worthiness. I recently found out that my mom
- 54:47Speaker 1: is still using one of the cards to buy household
- 54:50Speaker 1: items and groceries each month. Yes, I do eat the food,
- 54:54Speaker 1: but I can chip in and pay for the food
- 54:57Speaker 1: instead of using credit cards. I have asked her again
- 55:00Speaker 1: to stop using the cards. She got so upset with
- 55:03Speaker 1: me that she told me to move out of her
- 55:04Speaker 1: house within two months. I would like to approach her again,
- 55:07Speaker 1: but I don't know how to do how to without
- 55:10Speaker 1: her retaliating in this way. I can't afford to move out.
- 55:13Speaker 1: Please help. Wow, I can't believe your mom is doing this.
- 55:18Speaker 1: I mean, I don't care if you are. I don't
- 55:20Speaker 1: care if you are staying there rent free. Yeah, this
- 55:23Speaker 1: is not cool on your mom's part. And you know,
- 55:25Speaker 1: I thought you were gonna say that you had student
- 55:28Speaker 1: loans that's why you were in debt or something like that,
- 55:30Speaker 1: not because your mom went and got credit cards in
- 55:33Speaker 1: your name and she's maxim all out. I mean, I
- 55:35Speaker 1: did that to my mom's credit card when I was,
- 55:38Speaker 1: you know, eighteen or something, and of course I paid
- 55:41Speaker 1: her back, but the reverse sounds crazy to me. And
- 55:45Speaker 1: you know, just a side note, do you have a
- 55:47Speaker 1: friend or a relative that you could possibly become roommates
- 55:51Speaker 1: with and share some of these expenses? Because daughter, dear,
- 55:56Speaker 1: your mom really has you over a barrel right now.
- 55:59Speaker 1: I cannot believe she is taking advantage of you like this.
- 56:02Speaker 1: This is a hard one. I mean, how are you
- 56:06Speaker 1: ever gonna be able to get out of this hole
- 56:08Speaker 1: if she keeps charging stuff on your card? I'm glad
- 56:12Speaker 1: that you say you want to have some credit integrity.
- 56:14Speaker 1: I like that. That must be the accountant in you,
- 56:17Speaker 1: and with you paying just a minimum amount paying it off,
- 56:20Speaker 1: it's gonna take quite some time. It's gonna take forever.
- 56:23Speaker 1: I mean it'll you'll get it done, but it's gonna
- 56:26Speaker 1: take quite a long time. So there's no way you're
- 56:29Speaker 1: gonna be free for a while in that respect. So, UM,
- 56:34Speaker 1: I do think it's time to put your accounting degree
- 56:37Speaker 1: to work, though you are right, How can you tell
- 56:40Speaker 1: others how to manage their situations? Their financial situations and
- 56:45Speaker 1: yours are terrible? What would you what would you tell
- 56:49Speaker 1: your client? You got to become a client, in this case,
- 56:51Speaker 1: your own client. What would you advise them to work out?
- 56:57Speaker 1: Wouldn't you say, get a plan together to pay some
- 57:00Speaker 1: of these credit cards, consolidate, condense them into one. Um,
- 57:06Speaker 1: you know you would you would tell them something along
- 57:08Speaker 1: these lines. I'm thinking, uh, you know, and to start
- 57:11Speaker 1: saving a little more if you can, to get out
- 57:13Speaker 1: of your mom's house and all of that, get out
- 57:15Speaker 1: of her own uh and get your own apartment. Whatever
- 57:18Speaker 1: you would tell your clients, be quiet, Steve, let me finish,
- 57:22Speaker 1: almost finish, you get almost your turn hold on. Whatever
- 57:27Speaker 1: you would tell your client as an accountant, that's how
- 57:31Speaker 1: you deal with this situation for yourself. Okay, now, Steve,
- 57:36Speaker 1: don't be rude. I wouldn't be a saving breathing But
- 57:41Speaker 1: surely are you so nice? Let's stop, do you boo? Now?
- 57:47Speaker 1: This is what we gonta do. Time it is here.
- 57:52Speaker 1: You know I just stand well, I mean, you know
- 57:54Speaker 1: some of these letters. Surely we ain't gotta take our
- 57:57Speaker 1: time with my mother's ruining my future. I'm a black
- 58:01Speaker 1: young lady, my med twenties. I've been in debt since
- 58:04Speaker 1: I graduated in twenty sixteen from college. You wanted to
- 58:07Speaker 1: step out in the real world paying a few bills,
- 58:09Speaker 1: but not as many as you have now, because while
- 58:12Speaker 1: I was in college, my mom opened multiple credit cards
- 58:15Speaker 1: in my name and proceeded to max them all out
- 58:18Speaker 1: on her bills and personal items. Fast forward to today,
- 58:21Speaker 1: my credit card debt is eighty five hundred. I'm trying
- 58:24Speaker 1: to pay the minimum payment so I can have a
- 58:25Speaker 1: good credit score. Pay men. Hold up, Shirley, Yeah, you've
- 58:30Speaker 1: gave the nice version all right. Now listen to me.
- 58:35Speaker 1: What I'm about to tell you is not about people.
- 58:40Speaker 1: This is about mindset. Let's keep that in mind, So
- 58:44Speaker 1: don't hit me up talking about No. I'm from the ghetto.
- 58:46Speaker 1: I would never do that. I live in a trailer park.
- 58:48Speaker 1: I would never do that. I'm talking about a mindset,
- 58:52Speaker 1: and y'all know what I'm talking about. We can live
- 58:55Speaker 1: in a ghetto, but not faint like that. You can
- 58:59Speaker 1: live in a trailer park but not think like that.
- 59:02Speaker 1: I'm just talking mind said now, not a place a mentality, Yo,
- 59:08Speaker 1: Mama to put all these credit cards in their children's name,
- 59:12Speaker 1: like getting the cable putting your baby's name, getting electric
- 59:16Speaker 1: cut on in your baby name? Did getting electric disconnected
- 59:19Speaker 1: twenty years later? His ass k't even get lights turned
- 59:22Speaker 1: on an apartment. Hold that thought, Steve, hold on, hell,
- 59:27Speaker 1: We'll have part two of Steve's response coming up at
- 59:30Speaker 1: twenty three after the hour. Subject of today's Strawberry letter,
- 59:34Speaker 1: my mother is ruining my future. We'll be back right

- 1:00:19Speaker 1: come on, Steve, let's recap today's Strawberry letter. Subject my
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: mother is ruining my future. Translation my mama is trailer
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: park and ghetto all at the same time. That's what
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: this letter is. This woman wise her daughter was in college,
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: then put all these credit cards in this girl's name.
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: She in her early twenties, now her hood moment, and
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: put all these credit cards in her name and ran
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: it up. She eight thousand, five hundred dollars in debt.
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: She trying to pay the minimum. The girl got an
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: accounting degree, and she's trying to get her life together
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: by making minimum payments. But she can't afford to pay
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: all these minimum payments. And then she lives with her mama.
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: She's upset about it, and she feels like she shouldn't
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: have to pay these big but only that's not her
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: only problem, because she lived with her mama rent free.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: So when you could when she complained to her mama
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: about creating these illegal credit cards, she tells me, I'm ungrateful.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: I need to be glad I got a roof over
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: my head. What where was you gonna stay if you
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: hadn't to run up these credit cards? Wasn't you still
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: gonna have a place to stay? Mama? So now I
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: got to be grateful because you have stole my social
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: Security number and opened up these damn credit cards. What
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: do that got to do with the roof over? I
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: needn't died to be glad that you got a roof.
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: I would much rather pay my own rant instead of
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: paying all these high interest rates on these credit card.
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: But I can't now if the girl is concerned about
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: salvage and her credit now as you recently found out
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: that her mama's still using one of the damn cars
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: to buy household items and groceries each mom, Now any
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: girl said, yeah, I do eat the food, but I
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: could chip in to pay for the food instead of
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: using these credit cards. I've asked her again to stop
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: using the cards. She got some upset with me. She
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: told me to move out of her house within two months.
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: I would like to ap proach her again, but I
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: don't know how without retaliating in this way, I can't
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: afford to move out. Please. Hell, okay, here's what you
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: gotta do. First thing, the cards is in your name.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: Call all these credit people and stop charging capabilities. That's
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: the first thing you gotta do, because your mama ain't listening.
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: She steady charging stuff. Cut the damn credit cards off
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: when your mama asked about them. Remember now there in
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: your name, So ain't nothing you got to do except
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: turn them off. That way, she can't run it up
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: no more. Because you gotta stop the bleeding. She's not
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: gonna stop the bleeding, so you have to stop the beating.
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: Next thing, when she tell you to move out her house,
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: don't move squat. She ain't gonna throw y'all become a squatter.
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, See, one illegal move deserves another illegal move.
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: You illegally stolen, got ease illegal credit card. Now she's
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: telling you you gotta move in two months. You ain't moving, no,
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: damn Well, mama ain't got no where to move. I
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: can't move nowhere. I'm coming right here. If she changed
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: a lot, just beat on the door till she comes
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: to the dough she coming. Can't nobody lay up in
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: there while you just beating mama and say Mama, mama, Mama, Mama, Mama, Mama, Mama, Mama, Mama, Mama, mam.
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: Every parent can't stand for the child and be somewhere
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: and keep calling their name, Mama, Mama. Dad gets on
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: your dad, ain't dad, Dad, ain't it gets on your
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: last damn name. So she's not gonna lock you out.
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: And that's how you stop the bleeding from the credit.
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: You keep staying there, re free and get these credit
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: cards paid down. Now, if I wish you like Shirley said,
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: I would do some type of bill consolidation so you
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: can just get one note at a lower rate and
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: let's get this stuff paid off and in two years
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: you'll be in good shape. But I want you to
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: squat in your mama's house for at least two years.
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: And if your mama say anything to your body, report
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: her to her job, take her down to the church
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: and tell the pastor all go on Facebook. Old ass people, yeah,
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: old ass people. It is on Facebook. Go to her
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: Facebook page, post it down on the bulletin board and
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: her job. My mama trying to put me out? Can
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: I stay with one of y'all? You know I had
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: a little pin ups on the wall, my mom my mama,
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: Dolores is trying to put me out? Can I stay
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: with one of y'all? Yeah? I know? She got one
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: of them named my Mama, Harriet, my Mama, Gwen, my Mama, Stella,
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: my Mama, Dorothy, Bobara, my mama, and tell on her ass.
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: But you got plenty of time. She ain't called her bluff.
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: She said, I want you out of my house. I'm
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: not going nob am where I can't move because I'm
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: paying your credit card bills. Whoa mama, Thank you sir.

- 1:06:22Speaker 1: Coming up at forty six after the hour, We're gonna
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: talk to Steve because he finally saw the Dave Chappelle's
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: special called Sticks and Stones on Netflix. We'll talk to
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: him about it right after this. You're listening to the show.
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: All right, Steve, So finally you had time to see
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: the Dave Chappelle Netflix special. This one's called Sticks and Stones.
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: We've been trying to get you to see it for
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: since it came out. Actually, uh, and finally you saw it.
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: So what happened and what did you think? Let me
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: tell you something that I couldn't even breathe. I was
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: laughing so hard, man, I just I had to push pause, Yeah,
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: because I had to put pause. Man, because this dude, Man,
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: what what he said? First of all, let me say this.
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: They would destroy me if I said any of it.
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: But the level of stand up that he is, and
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: because he has he's not in any sponsor driven business,
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: what can they do? He said, I know y'all gonna
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: be mad at you, but you picked my face on
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: net Flix and pressed play. Hugh came funniest dog. He talked, Man,
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't even have a faith. Yeah,
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: oh from ahead asked me, just ask what about what about?
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: When he said, just say no, what about that? I've
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: stretched out? He said, I can understand how white people
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: feel the same way y'all felt about the crack epidemic
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: in the eighties, with black and I can tell you
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: from the bottom of my heart, y'all addicted to Opie,
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: I really don't care, man, I said, he was so
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: funny man and pointed yeah, and he no holes barred
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: everything he did though, the thing he did about the
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: victim shaming boy, the Michael Jackson stuff, it's funny now
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: people were People were offended about that. A lot of
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: people were offended about that. I have a question. I
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: didn't see it. I have a question. Do you think
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: he has made made a change? What comics can now
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: say what they want to say? No? Absolutely not, absolutely not. Okay,
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: you see, Jay, you have a radio career, right, so
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: you on a show that sponsored driven right, you can't
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: say what he's said. You're not saying. See, they have
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: nothing to attach to Dave Chappelle, Right, yeah, what are
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: they gonna do? You're right, he could be as politically incorrect.
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: He said, though the way things are going now, he said,
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: they're coming for us. All yeah, he's right, and they
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: are and he made Man, I want let's do it
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: again because I want to tell y'all, so, okay, all right,
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: we can come back, all right, We'll be back with more. Uh.
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: Steve finally saw, like we said, the Dave Chappelle Sticks
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: and Stones special on Netflix. Well, we'll continue with part
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: two at the top of the hour right after this.
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: You're listening to all right, Steve. So we were talking
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: before we went to break about you and your opinion
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: on the Dave Chappelle Sticks and step Let me tell
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: you something, man. I thought it was so brilliantly written
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: because he said what a lot of people think, but
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: because of political correctness, we can't even verbalize it. This
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: man said things man that millions and millions of people
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: are thinking. I'm talking about millions. The audience was and
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: from all backgrounds, very different. And let me tell you
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: something man, because these were the people who were sitting
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: there going it's a joke. I get it, yeah, yes,
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: but so many people can't laugh at nothing when you
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: don't realize that for us to tell a joke, the
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: joke gotta be about somebody. We can't just talk about
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: air and trees all damn day. One of these jokes
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: gonna have to be about somebody. And Dave Chappelle talked
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: about the groups man, the stuff he boy when and look,
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: I'm not talking about any of it, but was I
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: laughing at it, Doc, I mean to my stomach was
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: hurting because as a stand up he touched on subjects
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: that you are not supposed to talk about because of
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: political correctness. And I mean he did them all. He
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: did me too, movement, he did stuff about all communities.
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: I mean, man, and see, I'm so nervous. I won't
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: even say, but you know, oh, no dog, because somebody
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: goes Steve Harvey. No man, I'm a comedian. And I
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: enjoyed it, and it was a pleasure to see because
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: I haven't seen that in years. Oh, for someone to
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: just stay what was on their mind. Brother, do you
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: know the last time I saw this was Richard Pryor. Wow,
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: I have not seen this so seriously since Richard prob
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: I haven't seen it since the comedy club days in
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: the eighties and early nineties, when we were talking about anything.
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: Do you know, man, in eighty five, in eighty five,
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: you could write a joke about AIDS. In eighty five,
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: you could write a joke about it because no one
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: knew the real seriousness of it. You could write a
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: joke about it because no one knew the seriousness of it,
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: and there was so much ignorance about it. Back then,
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: they had it just as a some dudes had this
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: and it was just a few. They didn't They didn't
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: know the severity of it. So you write a joke
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: about it back the boom, nobody said nothing you could do. Donk.
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: We've been doing racial humor fuck years and now, man,
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: you can't talk about nobody without somebody feel everything. Yeah,
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: since he even said that after us, all the joke
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: he did about Kevin Hard, Oh yeah, what's so pointed
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: and true? Man, Kevin's a really good dude, but because
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: of a tweet he made years ago, he's not the
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: host of the Oscars. Now, they didn't messed it up
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: so bad. Now, guess what, they didn't have a host
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: for the Emmys. Yeah they are, they've they're taking all
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: everything away. But it was a pure pleasure to watch
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: Dave Chappelle's special from the Comedic Genior standpoint. Now, is
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: it going to offend a lot of y'all? Yeah? Oh yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: a lot of y'all gonna be offended. But if you
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: could just stop being offended for just a minute, that
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: damn thing was funny, man, But I mean it does
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: bring up a serious issue though, Steve, like you said,
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: can we laugh at ourselves? We can't. It is you know,
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: we can't even laugh at me. It's not even can
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: we laugh at ourselves anymore? It's can we laugh at you?
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: That's what it is. It ain't ourselves. It's can we
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: laugh at you? Cause you cause you different from us?
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: That's the problem. Can we laugh at you? Wow? That's it.
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: It's not can we laugh at ourselves? It's can we
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: laugh at you? Is that okay? And the answer today
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: is hell no. Right, all right. We'll be back with
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: more of a Steve Harvey Morning Show right after this
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: at twenty minutes after the hour. You're listening. Time now

- 1:15:42Speaker 1: For dessert, I'm loving this dessert, she whipped up a
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: lemon blueberry tart with blueberry and cream cheese filling, toasted meringue,

- 1:16:11Speaker 1: really good. Congratulations, Yeah, yes, yes, congratulations Chef Dorian Hunter. Yeah.

- 1:16:27Speaker 1: you're listening to and today's entertainment news, The Political World
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: Game Saturday Night Live. A whole lot to look forward
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: to and work with this season. For the premiere, it
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: would start set it with Woody Harrelson playing Joe Biden.
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: Maya Rudolph returned as Kamala Harris, and of course Larry
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: David as Bernie Sanders. Alec Baldwin is back in his
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: role as Donald Trump and he is freaking out about
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: the impeachment. Take a listen, give me Rudy Juanni on
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: the phone. Trump, what's new? What do you mean? What's new? Rudy?
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: I'm being impeached. It's the greatest presidential harassment of old time.
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: I would know. I'm like the president of harassment. Trump.
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: We got nothing to worry about. Nobody's gonna find out
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: about our illegal side dealings with the Ukraine. Good? Or
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: have we tried to cover up those side dealings? Great?
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: Or are we planning to cover up the cover up?
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: Rudy Rudy with value right now. I'm on CNN right now. Seriously, man,
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: when you listen to Rudy Rudy Juliano's Uhliani Chiliani's confession
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: to Chris Cromo, the admission. First he said he didn't,
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: then he admitted it. I mean, man, this guy's liking
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: a real It's just sad the political clim they don't care.
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: The Republicans. I'm done because they can stop saying they
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: care about the beloved Constitution because they don't, because they're
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: allowing this man to walk all over it. Because that's
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: all this is if they don't play any card. They've
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: always played the constitution card when it comes to keeping
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: these gun sales alive, they throw that Second Amendment in
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: your face in a heartbeat. But now when it comes
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: down to this president who clearly has used his political
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: office to for help him with the political campaign, Uh,
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: they don't. They don't want to use the Constitution. No, No,
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: it's really it's amazing. I mean seriously, they said, sciously,
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: do you know what I've heard Republicans saying all he
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: should get is a slap on the risk, a slap
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: on the wrist. The Saint the Saint Elementary School Obama,
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: Oh my god, you know that two types of Republicans, Steve,
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: there's a there's a public Republican, and then there's the
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: back room the Republican. And they talk different when they're
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: on camera as opposed to when they're off camera, because
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: they don't really like Trump. They really don't like Trump,
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: but he's what they got sick with it, and listen
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: to me, you could give them that they do stick together.
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: They you can't tell me that you think this guy
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: is a great president, right right. You can't be a
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: thinking person and go he's a great president. You just can't.
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: I agree. All right, coming up our last break of
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: the day and some closing remarks from the one and only,
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: the very enlightening Steve Harvey at forty nine minutes after
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: the hour right after this. You're listening, all right, Steve.
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: Here we are, last break of the day. It's been
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: a good Monday. Good to be back at work and everything. Yeah,
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: you know something, surely I really don't know what if
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: I should mess with this subject or not. I was
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: thinking about this for my closing remarks. I'm not sure.
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: You all tell me how it sounds. Okay, all right,
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: so here we go. You know, I guess this is
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: more of a commentary. I don't normally do commentary. I
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: try to be encouraging and lightning. I try to be motivational.
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: But I'm just gonna take a different page right now. Man,
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: I'm just gonna do like a commentary about something, and
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: it's not for anything in particular. Well, I guess it
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: is because I watched Dave Chappelle's comedy special or Sticks
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: and Stones, and I watched him perform a craft that
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: has been the tree trunk or the staple of everything
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: that I've become in my life, which stemmed all from
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: stand up and God has been amazingly good to me,
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: you know, and I've been able to have a wonderful life,
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: you know, in spite of all the setbacks and shortcomings,
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: I've just had a wonderful life. And a part of
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: it is a huge part of it is because of
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: this incredible gift He gave me, this gift of comedy
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: that has served me well over the years. Now, comedy
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: is a craft that is a blessing and it can
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: be a curse. I think everything that you're good at
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: it's also can be the thing that causes you pain
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: in your life. You know, if you're the most generous
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: person in the world, that's gonna come back to bite you.
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: Sometimes it's just because somebody's going to take advantage of
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: your generosity. You know, if you're if you're a loving
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: person that tries to love everybody, at one point in time,
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: somebody's gonna take advantage of that's gonna come back and
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: bite you. You know your your They sometimes say that
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: oftentimes your strength, your greatest strength, is your greatest weakness.
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: You know your your loyalty to people can be your
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: greatest strength, but it can also become your greatest weakness
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: because sometimes you stay loyal to people who have long
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: stopped being loyal to you. So I'm saying that in
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: a in a long way around to get to the
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: point of what I'm trying to say. After watching this
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: special and living its lock, Dave Chappelle's special was so
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: funny to me because I knew where he was coming from.
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: Because quiet as it is kept and quiet and truth
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: be told, Dave Chappelle said a lot of stuff that's
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: funny to a lot of people behind closed doors. And
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: the thing about comedy that has always been good is
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: that we've always said the things that people have been thinking.
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: But because you have jobs, and you have family, and
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: you have church members, and you have co workers and
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: you have people, you're not allowed to say it. But
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: stand ups have always stood up there and said the
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: things that people have always wanted to say. And what
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: Dave Chappelle said in this special was funny to some people,
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: to a lot of people. I gotta tell you something, y'all,
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: it was funny to millions of people. But the thing
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: of it is, And I was talking to Shirley on
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: the break and Shirley said, we can no longer laugh
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: at ourselves. And I corrected Shirley, and I said, nor, Shirley,
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: you know what the problem is. We can no longer
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: laugh at you. See, comedy, man, is a crazy gift
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: to have, because in this gift, you know, we we
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: have to talk about something now. Like I was saying,
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: we can't tell Joe about trees and bushes and air
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: and water all day. Some of these jokes are gonna
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: have to be about somebody. And now we're in this
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: state of union where we are so politically correct that
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: we can't say anything about anybody, even under the format
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: of comedy, without somebody taking such offense to it. Could
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: that they come after you to take your career from you.
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: I find that ironic because a comedian can't say what
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: he want to say, but the president can. I'm confused.
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: His job isn't to be funny, His job isn't to entertain.
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: His job isn't to make you pause for thought. His
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: job is merely supposed to serve and governed the people
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: that he was elected to serve and to govern. But
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: we have a man in a White House that note
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: neither serves nor governs. He just does it in a
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: way that we've never had it done before. And everything
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: he does is acceptable. The four women that he said
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: should go back to their country, the ones that are
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: all from here, that was offensive. He's still the president.
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: When he said he grabbed women by the p and
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: Billy Bush laughed on the bus. He still became the president.
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: When he calls a woman pokahannas that's offensive to Native Americans,
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: He's still the president when he says he didn't mean
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: it that way. The Republicans backed him, and he's still
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: the president. But Dave Chappelle, Kevin Hard the moment they
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: say something about anything, you have no right and you
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: want their jobs. But ain't nobody calling for the president's job?
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: Oh now they are, But it ain't cause us something
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: he said, It's just causing they heard something that a
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: whistleblower said. That's what makes it hard to be a
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: comedian today. And I wish it wasn't that way, because
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: there's so many things we could laugh at, but if
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: you talk about the President, he'll tweet you about that,
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: and it's too bad that we can't laugh. No bare,
