  I'm thinking today of Romans chapter 10. It's

  a unique message for an important time of year.

  In Romans chapter 10, Paul is talking about getting

  out the gospel. How then are they to call on

  him in whom they have not believed? That's verse

  14. Or how are they to believe in him whom they
• 0:15
  have not heard? And how are they to hear without
• 0:16
  a preacher? That's the rest of 14. And then down
• 0:19
  in verse 16, in the middle of a discussion about
• 0:22
  how the Word of God has to get out and how the
• 0:24
  Word of God will grow faith, there is this kind
• 0:27
  of excerpt. It says, however, they did not all
• 0:30
  heed the good news. For Isaiah says, quote, Lord,
• 0:34
  who has believed our report, unquote. The bottom
• 0:37
  line is this. Even if someone is sent, even if
• 0:39
  someone goes, not everyone will hear the gospel.

  Not everyone will respond positively to the message
• 0:46
  that God is willing to save souls. I remember
• 0:49
  in the story of Lazarus and the rich man, the
• 0:51
  rich man is begging the angel at the gate to
• 0:54
  send somebody back to his brothers to warn them.

  And he says, no. They have Moses and the prophets,
• 1:00
  and even if they saw somebody come back from
• 1:03
  the dead, even then they wouldn't listen. And
• 1:05
  that's exactly where we're living today. Jesus
• 1:08
  has come back from the dead, and believers have
• 1:10
  been born again and are now living on this earth
• 1:12
  and delivering the message about Jesus, and still
• 1:14
  there are those who will not believe. It does
• 1:16
  not lessen our obligation to share, but it reminds
• 1:18
  us that even this year, even this time, as we
• 1:21
  are celebrating the coming of Jesus, who is the
• 1:23
  most spectacular way that God declared his love
• 1:26
  and his salvation available to people. sometimes
• 1:28
  won't hear. Tell them anyway.
