  I'm thinking today of a verse in John chapter

  8, verse 43. In this translation it says, Why

  is my language not clear to you? Because you

  are unable to hear what I say. Hmm. Jesus was

  talking to them about having Satan as their father,
• 0:19
  having the devil as their father rather than
• 0:21
  God. And of course they claim that's not true.

  But they just can't. It doesn't say they won't,

  it says they can't. hear the words of jesus they
• 0:29
  can't understand them that's the situation that
• 0:33
  we're living in now if you are a child of god
• 0:35
  and someone else is a child of the devil and
• 0:38
  everyone who's not a child of god is a child
• 0:40
  of the devil and that's just the way it is you're
• 0:41
  surrounded by lost people in this world the truth
• 0:44
  is that they are unable to hear the teachings
• 0:47
  of christ and yet and yet The disciples were
• 0:52
  told that they were free both to hear and understand
• 0:54
  the teachings of Christ and to go out and deliver
• 0:57
  those teachings to a lost and dying world. And

  that Jesus would eventually come again and take
• 1:02
  them to be there with him where he was going.

  So that's us too. So we are supposed to share
• 1:08
  whatever we possibly can with anyone we possibly
• 1:10
  can. John wrote it this way. He says, proclaim
• 1:12
  what you have seen and heard. We proclaim what
• 1:16
  we have seen and heard. And so the hope is that
• 1:19
  their fellowship would be with us. But until
• 1:20
  their fellowship is with us, they won't be able
• 1:22
  to understand exactly what it is that we're talking
• 1:24
  about if we're speaking the teachings of Christ.

  They're just not able. Have pity on them. They're
• 1:29
  just not able. But we have a job to do, and we
• 1:33
  know where we're going when we get that job done.
• 1:35
  And praise God for it. We'll keep at it.
