- 2:05Speaker 1: You're listening to the voice I come on dig me
- 2:08Speaker 1: naw one and only Steve Harley got a radio show.
- 2:13Speaker 1: I was. I had my head down and it was
- 2:17Speaker 1: thinking of what I wanted to say this morning. But
- 2:21Speaker 1: it kind of it's kind of be something I've lived
- 2:25Speaker 1: for a long time, and you know, for a long time,
- 2:31Speaker 1: you know, I had a lot of faith in people.
- 2:33Speaker 1: You know. It's strange too, because you know, you know,
- 2:37Speaker 1: my mother was a Sunday school teacher, so of course
- 2:40Speaker 1: I grew up around it, knowing the scriptures and things
- 2:44Speaker 1: like that. Not not a lot of them, but you know,
- 2:46Speaker 1: the ones I retained. But having her as a mother
- 2:50Speaker 1: was was a huge help and understand about faith. But
- 2:53Speaker 1: even with that, as I grew up, I began to
- 2:58Speaker 1: put a lot of faith in people, and you know,
- 3:01Speaker 1: I figured, you know, just like everybody else, you know,
- 3:04Speaker 1: man if I could just meet this person, or if
- 3:07Speaker 1: I could just sit down with that person, or man
- 3:10Speaker 1: if I could just get this person to hear my ideal,
- 3:14Speaker 1: or man if if this person could hear my track,
- 3:17Speaker 1: or man if I could just get this in the
- 3:19Speaker 1: hands or somebody in the know. I was, like everybody else,
- 3:24Speaker 1: I thought that way. You know, I actually thought that
- 3:26Speaker 1: if I could get in a certain situation with a
- 3:29Speaker 1: certain person, that if a certain person were to meet me,
- 3:33Speaker 1: that you know, it could change everything for me. Oh man,
- 3:38Speaker 1: Oh how wrong I was? Oh how wrong I was?
- 3:42Speaker 1: How long did I spend feeling that way? And how
- 3:45Speaker 1: many of you out there possibly have felt that way before?
- 3:49Speaker 1: You know, like even in a relationship, this is the
- 3:52Speaker 1: person for me, and you know, you just lay claim
- 3:54Speaker 1: to that, you know, not necessarily being a fact, but
- 3:57Speaker 1: you just lay claim to it. This is the person
- 4:00Speaker 1: for me, This is the person that I want to
- 4:02Speaker 1: spend the rest of my life with. You know, sometimes,
- 4:04Speaker 1: you know, we just lay claim to stuff and it's
- 4:07Speaker 1: not always what's in our best interest or it's not
- 4:09Speaker 1: always a fact, it's just what we decided we want it.
- 4:13Speaker 1: And I was guilty of that just like anybody else.
- 4:16Speaker 1: And I spent a lot of years in my life
- 4:19Speaker 1: putting faith in people. Man, if I could tell you
- 4:22Speaker 1: anything this morning, it's to stop putting your faith in
- 4:25Speaker 1: people and put your faith in God where it counts
- 4:29Speaker 1: the most. I mean, you can get something out of
- 4:31Speaker 1: this one. See, here's a deal about a relationship with God.
- 4:35Speaker 1: It's the same all the time. He never changes. His
- 4:39Speaker 1: word is one absolute. His word doesn't have loopholes in it,
- 4:44Speaker 1: none of that. It's this is what it is. He's
- 4:47Speaker 1: very clear. Now, you can deviate off your end at
- 4:51Speaker 1: a bargain, but it don't stop what he says from
- 4:55Speaker 1: being true. But if he asked you to do something,
- 4:58Speaker 1: if God asks you to to be a certain way,
- 5:01Speaker 1: to do a little something a certain way, and you
- 5:03Speaker 1: don't do it that way, then you know you could
- 5:06Speaker 1: still possibly get by for a while. But don't you
- 5:10Speaker 1: understand that his end of the deal stays the same,
- 5:13Speaker 1: and as long as you're not doing it the way
- 5:15Speaker 1: you're supposed to, the results are not going to be
- 5:18Speaker 1: what you wanted to be. And I did this for
- 5:20Speaker 1: years and years and years, and I counted on people,
- 5:24Speaker 1: and you know, I got myself in a lot of situations.
- 5:27Speaker 1: And I got out one a dire situation that I'd
- 5:30Speaker 1: been in for a number of years. But he had
- 5:33Speaker 1: protected me from years prior to that. I didn't even
- 5:35Speaker 1: know what was going on, and then he made it away.
- 5:38Speaker 1: It made me aware of the problem. And then, man,
- 5:42Speaker 1: lord ha mercy, I was in a dismal situation. And
- 5:45Speaker 1: then at the end of the year, I was free,
- 5:48Speaker 1: free from it all. But it was a decision that
- 5:51Speaker 1: I had made that led up to that, and in
- 5:54Speaker 1: going through that process, I had to learn something. Man.
- 5:58Speaker 1: I learned a lot about people. See, if you want
- 6:01Speaker 1: to learn about your friends, if you want to learn
- 6:03Speaker 1: about your people people around you, get yourself in some trouble,
- 6:08Speaker 1: get yourself in a situation, Oh man, you start looking around. Man,
- 6:13Speaker 1: the field get real clear when you're in trouble. The
- 6:16Speaker 1: field clear is out when you're in doubt, when you
- 6:19Speaker 1: don't know what to do, when you need help, it
- 6:22Speaker 1: get real clear on the play and field, then don't it. Ah.
- 6:25Speaker 1: But when things is going right, it's time for a party.
- 6:28Speaker 1: We throw on a celebration. We were gonna, we're gonna
- 6:32Speaker 1: do one down here. Oh man, there's plenty of people
- 6:34Speaker 1: on the field. But but but get yourself in a situation.
- 6:38Speaker 1: You find out rather quickly that old no, old no,
- 6:42Speaker 1: everybody ain't here. And that's when I started learning. And
- 6:45Speaker 1: I'm telling you, I had to start learning this for
- 6:48Speaker 1: real until I finally got it to stop putting my
- 6:51Speaker 1: faith in people and put all the mine in God
- 6:54Speaker 1: where it counts the most. Now is that to say
- 6:57Speaker 1: that there are people that you can't trust. No, that's
- 6:59Speaker 1: not what I'm saying. I ain't say you can't trust him,
- 7:02Speaker 1: but you can't dump your faith in him. I got
- 7:05Speaker 1: it all riding on what he say. I got it
- 7:08Speaker 1: all riding on what she say. Na, Na, No, I
- 7:15Speaker 1: hear you saying it. But I'm gonna keep my own
- 7:19Speaker 1: this situation because I hear you saying it. But I'm
- 7:22Speaker 1: gonna take this faith of mine and instead of putting
- 7:25Speaker 1: it in people, I'm gonna put it in God where
- 7:27Speaker 1: it counts the most. Because his word is absolute. What
- 7:31Speaker 1: he say he gonna do, he gonna do what he say.
- 7:33Speaker 1: He's not gonna tolerate, he's not gonna tolerate. Now, you
- 7:36Speaker 1: can make it, you can make it tolerable for yourself,
- 7:38Speaker 1: but he's not gonna tolerate it. And that's just the
- 7:41Speaker 1: end of the line. And so you know, I'm wondering
- 7:44Speaker 1: how many people out there find themselves in a situation
- 7:47Speaker 1: like me. Or maybe you've gotten yourself in a situation
- 7:50Speaker 1: because you put your faith in some people and now
- 7:52Speaker 1: you wound up in a different type of situation. Now,
- 7:55Speaker 1: let me ask you, whetting people, at the only one
- 8:01Speaker 1: that I found when I was in my deepest trouble,
- 8:04Speaker 1: when me and my wife were in our darkest situation,
- 8:07Speaker 1: was God. It is the only one, was the only
- 8:11Speaker 1: one who was just right there, right there all the
- 8:14Speaker 1: way through. Now, let me explain something to you. Because
- 8:21Speaker 1: you have this relationship with God, it does not mean,
- 8:24Speaker 1: it does not mean now that it won't get it
- 8:27Speaker 1: won't still be a situation, you understand. But what He
- 8:32Speaker 1: will do is protect you during that period. He'll cover
- 8:37Speaker 1: you during that period that it is a situation. He
- 8:41Speaker 1: will give you the strength to overcome the situation when
- 8:44Speaker 1: it turns into a situation. Then when He cracks it
- 8:48Speaker 1: open for you and the sun is bright and shining
- 8:51Speaker 1: what he don't want you to do is when he
- 8:53Speaker 1: gets sunny again, to forget about him, who was there
- 8:56Speaker 1: when it was dark for you. See, I used to
- 8:59Speaker 1: do that too, you know I was Oh, man, I
- 9:02Speaker 1: did it. I'm telling you right now, I did it.
- 9:04Speaker 1: But I'm telling you man, when I learned a very
- 9:08Speaker 1: serious lesson and I watched some people I thought were
- 9:11Speaker 1: friends of mine just sort of casually remove themselves from
- 9:17Speaker 1: the situation. Then I said, okay. Me and Margie looked around.
- 9:21Speaker 1: We said, okay, it's just me, you and God. And
- 9:24Speaker 1: when we started conducting ourselves accordingly. So when it's sunny
- 9:29Speaker 1: for us, we remember God. We stay prayerful, we keep
- 9:33Speaker 1: talking to him. We thank him for the sunshine, we
- 9:36Speaker 1: thank him for the dark days that he allowed us
- 9:39Speaker 1: to do, who allowed us to survive it and turn
- 9:41Speaker 1: it into sunny days. And we talked to him constantly
- 9:44Speaker 1: to protect us of our future enemies. And that's what
- 9:47Speaker 1: the deal is. So if I was everybody, I would
- 9:50Speaker 1: stop putting your faith in people and put your trust
- 9:53Speaker 1: in God where it really does count the most, It
- 9:55Speaker 1: really really does. You're listening to ladies and gentlemen, it
- 10:03Speaker 1: has begun to Steve Harvey Morning Show, Live and Living color.
- 10:07Speaker 1: We are here available, inspiring, informing, enlightning, uplifting, motivating, and
- 10:15Speaker 1: when all that get out the way, Lord ha Mercy
- 10:18Speaker 1: just was a funny show, Ladies and gentlemen. Shirley Strawberry,
- 10:22Speaker 1: Good morning, Steve. Yes it is, Yes it is. And
- 10:25Speaker 1: then that was Carla Farrell, Good morning, Steve. What's up? Krim?
- 10:30Speaker 1: And alone came Junior Kill Spates, Yeah, jealous King breaks nephew, Tommy, Yeah,
- 10:43Speaker 1: yeain't in the building baby, Good morning everybody. Yeah, how
- 10:49Speaker 1: you feel, Steve? I feel good? You know? Um uh?
- 10:53Speaker 1: Can I be honest though, Yes, I'm exhausted. You just
- 10:58Speaker 1: got here so early earlier the morning we walk up.
- 11:02Speaker 1: I'm talking about from just talking about racism. Oh yeah,
- 11:05Speaker 1: and you know, yeah, I'm really glad that there are
- 11:10Speaker 1: so many people out there understanding and trying to empathize
- 11:13Speaker 1: and and and identify with what the problem is. But again,
- 11:19Speaker 1: when you see them lined up outside with Confederate flags
- 11:22Speaker 1: into the race, and you see them hanging nooses and
- 11:25Speaker 1: people's y'all, you just you just know it's not going away.
- 11:30Speaker 1: And so we have to just continue to fight, man
- 11:32Speaker 1: and get some laws in place. The one law that
- 11:36Speaker 1: I'm really going to be pushing for is mandatory police sentenzing,
- 11:40Speaker 1: so that they have to be enforced at the same
- 11:42Speaker 1: way that we are forced to obey the law. That's
- 11:46Speaker 1: only fair. If you're hired to serve and uphold the law,
- 11:50Speaker 1: then you should have to uphold the law. What is
- 11:52Speaker 1: you too? And you should not have the right to
- 11:55Speaker 1: just decide if we die today, not as a police officer. Yeah,
- 12:01Speaker 1: that's what I'm hoping for. So everybody have a one today.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Black tide is what you're saying. You just black tide,
- 12:10Speaker 1: black tide BT BT. It's been. It hasn't just been,
- 12:16Speaker 1: you know, this year. This has been going on our
- 12:18Speaker 1: entire live Shirley and BT stands for ben tide, oh man,
- 12:24Speaker 1: man not back tied tie. Yeah, our entire lives that's all,
- 12:30Speaker 1: huh moving. We just keep it. And I wish I
- 12:35Speaker 1: know it can't happen, but I wish if everyone could
- 12:38Speaker 1: just imagine if it were happening to you, Yes, a man,
- 12:42Speaker 1: what would you want to happen? Yeah, well that's what
- 12:45Speaker 1: we want to happen. I don't want a lawless society.
- 12:48Speaker 1: I don't want a whirl without police and anybody asking
- 12:51Speaker 1: for nobody wants to. I hope you don't please them
- 12:55Speaker 1: killing us. Yeah, you think we were coming outside because
- 12:59Speaker 1: of cope. Let's let them get rid of to believe. Please,
- 13:03Speaker 1: I'm really not leaving home. It's always deadly forced, it
- 13:07Speaker 1: seems like when it comes to us. Yes, yes, yes,
- 13:11Speaker 1: that's the issue. Yes, try some other methods, you know,
- 13:15Speaker 1: don't kill us. Right, but when you practice all keel shots,
- 13:22Speaker 1: all of your targets is keel shots, chest in head. Yes,
- 13:27Speaker 1: that explains a lot, and the targets happened to be black. Yeah,
- 13:31Speaker 1: all right, we're gonna switch gears here, Steve, as we
- 13:34Speaker 1: always do around this time, and coming up at thirty
- 13:36Speaker 1: two minutes after the hour, get ready to ask the
- 13:39Speaker 1: CLO chief Love Officer in the building right after this
- 13:43Speaker 1: you're listening to show. All right, Steve, it is time.
- 13:49Speaker 1: It is time for ask the CLO. And if you
- 13:53Speaker 1: want advice from the CLO, some love advice, please submit
- 13:56Speaker 1: your questions to Steve Harvey sm dot com. Here we go, Steve.
- 14:00Speaker 1: This one is from Kim and Hampton, Virginia. Kim says,
- 14:04Speaker 1: I'm thirty two years old and I've been dating a
- 14:07Speaker 1: guy for seven months. I met his parents last weekend
- 14:10Speaker 1: and his mom is very sweet, but his daddy is
- 14:14Speaker 1: a pervert. And dad cornered me in the hallway as
- 14:18Speaker 1: I was leaving the restroom, and he whispered that he's
- 14:21Speaker 1: a bad boy. Then he told me to rub him
- 14:25Speaker 1: to see what he's working with. What I was wanted daddy.
- 14:29Speaker 1: I went and told my boyfriend. He laughed and said
- 14:32Speaker 1: his dad is harmless. He asked me to chill before
- 14:35Speaker 1: I made a scene. I think my boyfriend should have
- 14:37Speaker 1: checked his dirty old daddy. Am I wrong? It's not
- 14:42Speaker 1: that you're wrong. It's just a son to his father.
- 14:47Speaker 1: He don't He don't see that side, and he don't
- 14:51Speaker 1: want to see that side. Man, my daddy harmless. Well,
- 14:55Speaker 1: he don't really know his daddy like that, you know,
- 14:58Speaker 1: he just know him as the father son. He never
- 15:01Speaker 1: seen him flirting with chicks before. He don't know his
- 15:05Speaker 1: daddy perverted. He don't know. And for you to bring
- 15:08Speaker 1: it up, he just ain't. He gonna check his father. Pop,
- 15:11Speaker 1: you won't be up in here talking to her like that.
- 15:13Speaker 1: The respect level and that respect has a little bit
- 15:17Speaker 1: of fitted for your father, and I believe that's what
- 15:20Speaker 1: it is, and you know, just avoid his father, stay
- 15:24Speaker 1: away from him. He could be a good guy. I mean,
- 15:29Speaker 1: you de dude you with and he didn't took you
- 15:31Speaker 1: to meet his mama. That's a good sign after seven months.
- 15:34Speaker 1: So just avoid the dad. His dad could be perverted
- 15:37Speaker 1: and his son don't know what that's like. Yeah, hopefully
- 15:41Speaker 1: it don't go no further than that. I'm gonna seeing
- 15:44Speaker 1: what I don't work. And then you find to the
- 15:51Speaker 1: boy and the daddy. Yeah, so congratulations, But just stay
- 15:57Speaker 1: away from the daddy. That's the best I can do.
- 15:59Speaker 1: And then if it happens a dead then you're gonna
- 16:01Speaker 1: have to point it out to Yah. Might heading your husband.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Your husband touching my ass every time I'm coming in
- 16:14Speaker 1: the hallway, and I needed to stop, Miss Peterson pervert. Yeah,
- 16:20Speaker 1: all right, we're moving on. Joanne and CAREN's Texas says.
- 16:26Speaker 1: I'm a twenty nine year old Caucasian woman and I
- 16:28Speaker 1: love your show. My problem is with my husband. All
- 16:32Speaker 1: he wants to do is go fishing and hang out
- 16:34Speaker 1: at the lake with his buddies. Since we aren't quarantined anymore.
- 16:38Speaker 1: I asked him what's the problem, and he said, I
- 16:40Speaker 1: nag him constantly. He said, we need some time apart.
- 16:44Speaker 1: And he's been staying on our boat. I know he's
- 16:47Speaker 1: not cheating because my brother and my cousin stay on
- 16:50Speaker 1: the boat too. He's been home to shower and change clothes,
- 16:54Speaker 1: then he leaves. Will he snap out of this eventually? Yes,
- 16:59Speaker 1: he didn't. Got tied to you in the quarantine people, stevebody,
- 17:09Speaker 1: black and white. He tied to your aunt. He downed
- 17:12Speaker 1: at the boat with his your brother. Any damn body
- 17:15Speaker 1: even got on his nerves in the corner, and he
- 17:19Speaker 1: will snap out of it. But give him a minute, though,
- 17:22Speaker 1: Give him a minute, y'all was locked up for a
- 17:24Speaker 1: long time. He downed that fishing. Now he said his
- 17:28Speaker 1: job started stressing him out. I mean, she is a job,
- 17:35Speaker 1: all right. Here we go. This one's from anonymous in Northtown, Pennsylvania.
- 17:39Speaker 1: She says, I'm a fifty six year old woman and
- 17:42Speaker 1: I was happily married until January of this year. That's
- 17:45Speaker 1: when my husband's job started stressing him out. And he
- 17:49Speaker 1: gradually gained weight. As he got bigger, he started outgrowing
- 17:53Speaker 1: his clothes and uh, he usually wears sweatpants now, all right,
- 17:57Speaker 1: he works from home, so it's not a problem as
- 18:00Speaker 1: a woman that takes care of her insights and outward appearance.
- 18:04Speaker 1: It's hard to watch my husband turn into a slob.
- 18:07Speaker 1: How could I motivate him to get up and get
- 18:09Speaker 1: moving to lose the weight. Well, you got you gotta
- 18:12Speaker 1: use persuasive powers of a woman. You know this unattractiveness
- 18:18Speaker 1: that he's turning to is obviously not attractive to you,
- 18:22Speaker 1: and you gotta let him know it. But you just
- 18:24Speaker 1: got to sit him down and say, hey, look, sweete,
- 18:26Speaker 1: can we talk for a minute. What's happening? What's going
- 18:29Speaker 1: on with you? I know your job is stressing you
- 18:31Speaker 1: all a baby, you're letting yourself go. That's not who
- 18:34Speaker 1: you are. I've always been proud of the way you work,
- 18:37Speaker 1: the way you handle your business. I want that man back.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Don't let yourself go. Don't let this situation be he working,
- 18:45Speaker 1: what he's tripping for. Hell, it's COVID nineteen for everybody.
- 18:49Speaker 1: He the only one. Now that's what you can say,
- 18:53Speaker 1: Or then you could go route to your fat ass
- 18:56Speaker 1: getting on my nerves. Now there we go. Thank you
- 19:00Speaker 1: can pop bell ass. And I don't want you own me, Joe, Damn,
- 19:03Speaker 1: hands off me. Ya, don't touch me, stop it. Raise
- 19:08Speaker 1: some lights on his ass. Yeah, Joe, stomach off me.
- 19:13Speaker 1: If the situation were reversed, surely the husband would say
- 19:16Speaker 1: something to the wife you can lute, or he would
- 19:24Speaker 1: do something cheat or something next. I'm trying to prolong it.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Men complain all the time about their wives gaining weight
- 19:45Speaker 1: all the time. Come on, now, not today's wives. I
- 19:49Speaker 1: mean I know that. Nobody saying that's okay. I'm fine,
- 20:00Speaker 1: it was fine. Off. I'm just trying to you know,
- 20:06Speaker 1: lost your place in the latter name. Now you're drinking.
- 20:08Speaker 1: I'm watching your zoom. You're turned off that bottle? Is
- 20:11Speaker 1: it waters? That gen? This is water? I don't drink
- 20:14Speaker 1: the gin. I'm sitting about it, complaining. You got a
- 20:19Speaker 1: lot of nerves. I've been vitting all damn morning. I'm
- 20:22Speaker 1: going to do some things over you. Not I am,
- 20:26Speaker 1: get off me. All right, So that's your answer, okay,
- 20:30Speaker 1: all right, coming up, never you tell me we've run
- 20:34Speaker 1: that prank back right after this you're listening to show
- 20:41Speaker 1: coming up at the top of the hour, Miss and
- 20:43Speaker 1: will be here with today's national news and in trending news.
- 20:46Speaker 1: Teddy Roosevelt statue is going to be removed from the
- 20:50Speaker 1: Museum of Natural History in New York, and the FBI
- 20:53Speaker 1: and Department of Justice. They're both investigating the news that
- 20:56Speaker 1: was found in NASCAR's Bubba Wallace's garage. We'll talk about
- 21:00Speaker 1: all of these stories at the top of the hour,
- 21:02Speaker 1: but right now the nephew is here to run that prank.
- 21:04Speaker 1: Back when you got on now canvas so much, you
- 21:07Speaker 1: spent my credit card. This my dude right here, This

- 23:55Speaker 1: like I said, I was going through a little bit
- 23:56Speaker 1: of a situation. I needed some gas, so I used
- 23:59Speaker 1: it for that. And my little my little girl needs

- 24:59Speaker 1: car back. I'm a bushop, that's what. That's what it's
- 25:01Speaker 1: gonna be sure. If your card was that important, you
- 25:04Speaker 1: wouldn't have left it at the club. I believe that
- 25:07Speaker 1: card up time. Well, you wouldn't have been so if

- 26:44Speaker 1: a super black off. I want my car and I
- 26:46Speaker 1: want my money real. Go get my money and back

- 28:43Speaker 1: Oh no, he was good. You got it good. Coming
- 28:51Speaker 1: up at the top of the hour, we'll have some
- 28:53Speaker 1: entertainment and national news for you right after this. You're
- 28:56Speaker 1: listening Steve Harvey Morning Show. Theodore Roosevelt statue will yes,
- 29:03Speaker 1: it will be removed from the entrance of the American
- 29:06Speaker 1: Museum of Natural History in New York City. The statue
- 29:10Speaker 1: features the nation's twenty six president, Theodore Roosevelt. He's on
- 29:14Speaker 1: a horse with a Native American man standing on one
- 29:17Speaker 1: side and an African American man standing on the other side.
- 29:21Speaker 1: This move comes as a nation in several states deal
- 29:24Speaker 1: with the handling and removal of Confederate monuments and other
- 29:28Speaker 1: controversial statues. And that's definitely a controversial statue because have
- 29:32Speaker 1: you seen it, See if it looks like he's high
- 29:34Speaker 1: above above both of the Native Americans and the African America.
- 29:39Speaker 1: I don't know if this is true, but I heard
- 29:41Speaker 1: they're going to replace the status a black sculptures that's
- 29:46Speaker 1: carving out a statue of the two of them pulling
- 29:49Speaker 1: him down off the horse, hooking his age. That's a
- 29:55Speaker 1: nice look. They're pulling him off the horse and set
- 29:59Speaker 1: the hole free. Yeah yeah, and the horse gallops all free.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Peter's gonna love that because they don't see why you
- 30:07Speaker 1: would be riding horse any Damn that the horse. But
- 30:10Speaker 1: he's a Mustang. So how many statues are coming down? Now,
- 30:15Speaker 1: that's a lie. Take them all down. The pigeons ain't
- 30:25Speaker 1: gonna have no way to go to bad food. Took
- 30:28Speaker 1: all the toilets out. This damn pigeons going. Hey taking
- 30:34Speaker 1: the tarlet down? Hey, president does. But they have to
- 30:41Speaker 1: come down, you know they have to. Yeah, the President
- 30:45Speaker 1: don't like it, so he went again. They're gonna take
- 30:49Speaker 1: all them Trump towers down. You got digging problem, man.
- 30:54Speaker 1: You better be careful as president. Get them all and
- 30:59Speaker 1: other trending news. As we told you yesterday at News
- 31:02Speaker 1: was found in Bubba Wallace's garage stalls Sunday at Talladega
- 31:06Speaker 1: and now NASCAR, the Justice Department and the FBI are
- 31:11Speaker 1: investigating the case as a possible hate crime. On Monday afternoon,
- 31:16Speaker 1: Bubba Wallace fought back tears as all of his fellow
- 31:19Speaker 1: drivers rallied behind him at the starting line Indega to
- 31:23Speaker 1: show the world they stand with him, and there was
- 31:26Speaker 1: a prayer of unity. The drivers all lined up to
- 31:29Speaker 1: hug Bubba. Bubba Wallace, of course, is the only black
- 31:32Speaker 1: driver in NASCAR's top circuit and he's a very outspoken
- 31:35Speaker 1: supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement. You know what,
- 31:39Speaker 1: I really hope that they can find some cameras. See
- 31:41Speaker 1: when the FBI get involved, you have a big problem
- 31:44Speaker 1: because they busy, man. And if they can find some
- 31:48Speaker 1: footage of somebody walking somewhere making a turn in that
- 31:53Speaker 1: garage that didn't belong in there, or can show some
- 31:57Speaker 1: film footage or something, they're gonna find this guy. Yes,
- 32:01Speaker 1: but nashcars behind it where they are really making sure
- 32:06Speaker 1: they want to find out who it was. I saw
- 32:09Speaker 1: some flags that they flew that they wanted to defund,
- 32:13Speaker 1: the defund NASCAR. Did you see that y Confederate flag?
- 32:18Speaker 1: And ye, A lot of vendors to outside still want
- 32:22Speaker 1: to sell their Confederate flag. The flag ain't coming back,
- 32:25Speaker 1: and then it's out, Yeah we're selling outside there. I
- 32:30Speaker 1: like Junior he on flag patrol. What you say, the
- 32:33Speaker 1: flag ain't coming back, it's not. I'll get over that.
- 32:36Speaker 1: Let that go find something else. Man. It's all right.
- 32:41Speaker 1: We've had to get over a lot of come on,
- 32:45Speaker 1: don't get over the little flag. Confederate flag. Yeah, it's done.
- 32:50Speaker 1: Take it down at the Old k Cafe in Atlanta. Yeah, Yeah,
- 32:55Speaker 1: time to get caught up on today's headline. Plus, ladies
- 32:58Speaker 1: and gentlemen, Miss ann Trip, you're good morning, everybody. Voters
- 33:01Speaker 1: are going to the polls today in several states. Primaries
- 33:04Speaker 1: are being held in Kentucky, New York, Virginia, with runoffs
- 33:07Speaker 1: in North Carolina and Mississippi. President Trump travels to Arizona
- 33:11Speaker 1: today for a raleigh and also a look at the
- 33:13Speaker 1: border wall. A former President Obama's getting virtual today with
- 33:17Speaker 1: his former VP Joe Biden at about five fifteen Eastern time.
- 33:20Speaker 1: They're gonna be talking as supporters and asked and answering
- 33:23Speaker 1: questions as well. In Atlanta, yesterday, mourners played their last
- 33:26Speaker 1: respects to Ray Shard Brooks, the man who was shot
- 33:29Speaker 1: to death by a white cop who sought to arrest
- 33:31Speaker 1: him for simply falling asleep drunk in his car and
- 33:33Speaker 1: a Windy's parking lot. The cop who shot him, Garrett Rolfe,
- 33:37Speaker 1: has been fired. He's charged with murder. He's also jail
- 33:40Speaker 1: without bond. Funeral services are being held this afternoon for
- 33:44Speaker 1: Ray Shard Brooks at the famed Ebenezer Baptist Church. Of course,
- 33:47Speaker 1: that's a church where doctor Martin Luther King preached mister
- 33:50Speaker 1: Brooks's gold coffin in going home services, all being paid
- 33:53Speaker 1: for by Tyler Perry Old Weekend. Lawmakers in Minnesota tried
- 33:58Speaker 1: but failed to pass any police accountability legislation. Meanwhile, several
- 34:01Speaker 1: proposals inspired by the horrible police killing of George Floyd. However,
- 34:05Speaker 1: both houses of the Minnesota State Legislature have adjourned their
- 34:08Speaker 1: special sessions without passing a single proposal. Democratic lawmakers submitted
- 34:13Speaker 1: nearly two dozen packages, including changes in the legal standards
- 34:16Speaker 1: for deadly force, turning over all police officer prosecutions to
- 34:20Speaker 1: the state Attorney General. They wanted to ban on choke holes,
- 34:23Speaker 1: and they wanted the elimination of so called warrior training.
- 34:26Speaker 1: Saint Paul Representative Carlos Mariani, as chair of the Public
- 34:29Speaker 1: Safety Committee, he had hopes of routing out the real
- 34:32Speaker 1: problems and also avoiding the old stories and the old excuses.
- 34:36Speaker 1: It's not the apples, it's the tree. And the tree
- 34:41Speaker 1: doesn't have its roots only in Minneapolis, it has sprouted
- 34:45Speaker 1: all across our nation. Democrats are criticizing their Republican colleagues
- 34:50Speaker 1: for adjourning these special session before any compromised bill could
- 34:54Speaker 1: even be reached, and they say something he needs to
- 34:56Speaker 1: be done. By the way, roughly nine million coronavirus came
- 35:00Speaker 1: has reported around the world. One million were reported in
- 35:03Speaker 1: just the last week. The World Health Organization attributes the
- 35:07Speaker 1: uptick in cases to the coronavirus pandemic now hitting highly
- 35:11Speaker 1: populated countries, areas of countries in Latin America, now South Asia,
- 35:16Speaker 1: the Middle East, and Africa all at the same time.
- 35:19Speaker 1: So it's a pretty bad thing. President Trump, by the way,
- 35:21Speaker 1: freezing green cards and also special work visas until the
- 35:24Speaker 1: end of this year. By the way, Alexander Kung, one
- 35:26Speaker 1: of the four fired Minneapolis cops accused of murdering George
- 35:29Speaker 1: Floyd in that video scene around the world, he went
- 35:32Speaker 1: shopping the other day but found himself confronted by an
- 35:34Speaker 1: irate woman. What's your name? It is you? So you're
- 35:38Speaker 1: out of prison and you're comfortably shopping and c food
- 35:41Speaker 1: as if you didn't do anything. I don't think you
- 35:43Speaker 1: should have that right. I don't even think you should
- 35:45Speaker 1: be out on bail, Like you're literally outside here comfortably
- 35:48Speaker 1: as if you didn't kill that man. This is the
- 35:51Speaker 1: officer who was let out of jail today for shooting
- 35:53Speaker 1: George Floyd. I'm sorry suffocating him. Yeah, he has the
- 35:58Speaker 1: nerve to literally come outside. Think. We don't know what
- 36:00Speaker 1: he will fight. Now back to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 36:03Speaker 1: You're listening show. Well, yesterday, family, friends and members of
- 36:09Speaker 1: the community attended a public viewing for Ray Schard Brooks.
- 36:13Speaker 1: He was, of course, the twenty seven year old black
- 36:15Speaker 1: man who was fatally shot in the back by police
- 36:17Speaker 1: in Atlanta. That happened in June twelfth. The viewing was
- 36:20Speaker 1: at the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church. A private funeral will
- 36:24Speaker 1: take place today at the church and will be streamed
- 36:28Speaker 1: live on the church's website. Tyler Perry is covering the
- 36:32Speaker 1: full cost of a funeral and as we know, Ray
- 36:35Speaker 1: Schard Brooks was found sleeping in his car at a
- 36:37Speaker 1: Wendy's drive through. He was arrested after failing a sobriety
- 36:41Speaker 1: test and was shot twice in the back as he
- 36:44Speaker 1: was scared and tried to flee. The officer who shot him,
- 36:48Speaker 1: Garrett Rolfe, was fired and charged with felony murder. The
- 36:51Speaker 1: other officer, David Brosnan, is charged with aggravated assault. So
- 36:57Speaker 1: there you go. Yeah, wow, you know, I mean, it's
- 37:03Speaker 1: so much going on in the world right now, it
- 37:05Speaker 1: just is you know, I mean, it's just yeah, it
- 37:10Speaker 1: was just what last week or week before that we
- 37:15Speaker 1: at one time. Yeah, it's very heavy. It's a lot.
- 37:18Speaker 1: It's a heavy time right now, everything that's going on. Yeah.
- 37:23Speaker 1: And as soon as you've following, as soon as you
- 37:25Speaker 1: follow in one case, you look up, here come another case,
- 37:27Speaker 1: another case, another case, you know, and it's like, for example,
- 37:33Speaker 1: you know, it had another incident where police officers had
- 37:37Speaker 1: another black man in the choke hole in New York. Yeah,
- 37:40Speaker 1: you know, listen, the training of police officers, they're taught
- 37:45Speaker 1: the choke hole. The training of the police officers, they're
- 37:49Speaker 1: taught the knee on the back of the neck. They're
- 37:53Speaker 1: training of a police officer. All of their targets are
- 37:57Speaker 1: shoot to kill, chest and head shots. And the picture
- 38:02Speaker 1: that they're shooting at is always a black image. If
- 38:07Speaker 1: you are if these people do not think that that's
- 38:10Speaker 1: tied to this, they're sadly mistaken. Man. And then when
- 38:14Speaker 1: you incorporate the racial attitude that so many of them
- 38:20Speaker 1: have towards black people period. Look, man, for example, Brianna Taylor.
- 38:27Speaker 1: You go in with a no knock warned, you start
- 38:31Speaker 1: firing shots, twenty seven shots. This woman ends up dead
- 38:37Speaker 1: and the person you were looking for was already in jail.
- 38:42Speaker 1: Let me explain something to y'all. If Me, Junior and
- 38:45Speaker 1: Tommy fire shots into a house and somebody winds up dead,
- 38:51Speaker 1: we're going to prison immediately, all of us. See while
- 38:58Speaker 1: they holding knees all they're going through their process, what
- 39:03Speaker 1: do they call it? Trying to investigate everybody that was
- 39:07Speaker 1: there was an accomplice to murder. They trying to find
- 39:10Speaker 1: out which bullet shot. All of them got gunpowder residue
- 39:14Speaker 1: on their hands. Everybody to fire a shot, fire a
- 39:18Speaker 1: shot and don't know which one killed him. Somebody got
- 39:20Speaker 1: to pay man. Coming up at thirty four minutes after
- 39:23Speaker 1: the Hour and trending political news. The President is headed
- 39:26Speaker 1: to Phoenix now and we'll tell you more right after this.
- 39:29Speaker 1: You're listening to Harvey Morning Show. After the Trump campaign's
- 39:35Speaker 1: embarrassing weekend in Tulsa, today, the President will be in
- 39:39Speaker 1: Phoenix attending a rally hosted by students for Trump at
- 39:43Speaker 1: the Dream City Church with about three thousand seats. There
- 39:47Speaker 1: are also fifty two thousand cases of COVID nineteen in Arizona.
- 39:52Speaker 1: We doubt the president will focus on the coronavirus cases.
- 39:55Speaker 1: We doubt he will wear a mask. All of that.
- 39:57Speaker 1: The President will also visit a section of the order
- 40:00Speaker 1: wall with the Department of Homeland Security. And don't be
- 40:03Speaker 1: fooled by the Supreme Court ruling on DOCCA, the Dreamer's
- 40:07Speaker 1: Bill last week. The Supreme Court simply declared that mister
- 40:11Speaker 1: Trump failed to end DOCCA in the correct manner, not
- 40:14Speaker 1: that he couldn't end it. Okay, that's a big distinction there.
- 40:18Speaker 1: The President has a legal authority to end the program,
- 40:21Speaker 1: but that he had technically gone about doing it in
- 40:24Speaker 1: the wrong way. The Supreme Court gave Trump a roadmap
- 40:28Speaker 1: to do it correctly next time around, and Trump said
- 40:31Speaker 1: he will follow the instructions and refile. And the President
- 40:35Speaker 1: signed an executive order to suspend work vitas visas through
- 40:39Speaker 1: the end of twenty twenty. A lot going on. Yeah,
- 40:46Speaker 1: you got to really pay attention, you know, to what's
- 40:49Speaker 1: going on and what he's doing in the moves that
- 40:52Speaker 1: he's making. Yeah, you know, he because you know, if
- 40:55Speaker 1: you look at it, he does nothing positive. What do
- 40:58Speaker 1: you mean nothing positive. I don't care what Fox says.
- 41:01Speaker 1: I don't care what Hannity says. He does nothing positive.
- 41:05Speaker 1: I don't care what Rush Limbaugh says. He does nothing positive.
- 41:09Speaker 1: Man for people who need help, for people who want help,
- 41:15Speaker 1: for people who are oppressed. He does nothing for people
- 41:20Speaker 1: who are downtrotten, which is a vast majority of Americans.
- 41:26Speaker 1: He does nothing. Has what has he said to try
- 41:32Speaker 1: to heal the feelings of the protesters, to even understand why,
- 41:37Speaker 1: to even begin to deal with it. He doesn't go
- 41:40Speaker 1: over there. That's a subject he does not broach. He
- 41:44Speaker 1: does he doesn't go over there. He doesn't because yea,
- 41:48Speaker 1: and yeah, it'll offend his base. He doesn't want I
- 41:52Speaker 1: don't know anything right. And then the fact that he's
- 41:55Speaker 1: to sign this executive order to suspend work visus. His
- 41:59Speaker 1: wife was on the work visa. She well she's not now, Carla,
- 42:07Speaker 1: she's the first lady. Now see something else? Yeah, he
- 42:11Speaker 1: really is. And it's not that I think I expect
- 42:15Speaker 1: anything different from him. It's just that I would I
- 42:19Speaker 1: would expect something different from some of his followers to go,
- 42:25Speaker 1: you know what, I've had enough of this. This ain't right.
- 42:30Speaker 1: I mean look, man, I don't care who you are.
- 42:32Speaker 1: You've got to look at this and go boom instead
- 42:35Speaker 1: of trying to justify. But I understand why they justified
- 42:38Speaker 1: because it keeps them in power. Power. Yeah, they like
- 42:41Speaker 1: the power. Ana And he's gonna go visit that wall,
- 42:45Speaker 1: that border wall today, Yep, yep, yep. And he's not
- 42:49Speaker 1: gonna wear one. But he needs um today. Also, since
- 42:54Speaker 1: you brought that up, Steve, it is super Tuesday. It's
- 42:57Speaker 1: election day in the following state to New York, Kentucky,
- 43:01Speaker 1: and Virginia. So please get out and vote. If you
- 43:04Speaker 1: are not registered to vote, go to when we all
- 43:07Speaker 1: vote dot org. That's when we all vote dot org.
- 43:11Speaker 1: Please get out and vote. This is a prelude to
- 43:14Speaker 1: what's going to happen in November, and we can't take
- 43:17Speaker 1: anything for granted at this point. We just can't. We
- 43:20Speaker 1: don't know for sure. Yeah, you know, we got to
- 43:24Speaker 1: do our part. We have to vote, not to give granted.
- 43:27Speaker 1: We have to get ready to vote in November because
- 43:30Speaker 1: this information that we're talking about with the Supreme Court.
- 43:33Speaker 1: You got to watch the messaging and watch what they're
- 43:35Speaker 1: seeking in presidents appoint he appointed in his first term yeah,
- 43:42Speaker 1: so you know, yeah, all these things we have. Yeah,
- 43:47Speaker 1: we have to do our part. We have to do
- 43:49Speaker 1: our part. So when we all vote, if you have
- 43:51Speaker 1: not registered in Kentucky, Virginia, and New York, we're counting
- 43:55Speaker 1: on you today to get out there and vote. Please, Steve.
- 43:58Speaker 1: I know you used to get mad because used to
- 44:00Speaker 1: say you hate it to beg. But we gotta. We
- 44:02Speaker 1: gotta do what we gotta do. We have to beg.
- 44:04Speaker 1: We got a beg at this point, man, I get
- 44:07Speaker 1: tired of it, but we gotta do something. We gotta
- 44:09Speaker 1: be got. We gotta do it. I ain't up form
- 44:12Speaker 1: years whatever. I don't feel like it. All right, coming
- 44:17Speaker 1: up next, we're gonna switch gears here, nephew Tommy is
- 44:20Speaker 1: gonna be here with today's plan. Yes, that's coming up
- 44:24Speaker 1: something stupid. Yes, you're listening to show coming up at
- 44:31Speaker 1: the top of the hour, right about four minutes afterwards
- 44:34Speaker 1: today's strawberry letter. Uh my subject today is he here
- 44:38Speaker 1: for me or just the baby? All right, that's the subject.
- 44:44Speaker 1: Right now, nephew here with today's prank phone call which
- 44:48Speaker 1: you got for his nephew, your son paid in the pool.
- 44:54Speaker 1: You know what, Before we go to this prank. Let
- 44:55Speaker 1: me just ask my my co worker. Have y'all paid
- 44:59Speaker 1: in the pool? Phone? Carl, probably her son's age, Yeah, Carl, No,
- 45:03Speaker 1: you ain't. Never still there looked off in a far
- 45:06Speaker 1: distance and just Shirley, oh I have Yeah, Okay, okay,

- 45:16Speaker 1: in hell where we want to be, I couldn't. I'm
- 45:21Speaker 1: talking about the man on this show, you know, come on, Okay.
- 45:26Speaker 1: As a female now the most younger, though, it's a
- 45:34Speaker 1: different story. I think everybody has at some point. Yeah,
- 45:40Speaker 1: I try to make sure I got a little more chlorine,
- 45:43Speaker 1: and then you put your supposed to have just corner.
- 45:46Speaker 1: If you see anybody in the kids look at Yeah,
- 45:51Speaker 1: you do it when you're a kid. But the kids

- 45:56Speaker 1: seen one get out of my pool to run to
- 45:58Speaker 1: the bathroom. They've been there two three hours? Do three hours?
- 46:01Speaker 1: I'm like, come on, yeah, I make them go on. Yeah,
- 46:05Speaker 1: you go first. You can do that. You can do that.
- 46:09Speaker 1: But I'm just saying, by the time three hours go by,

- 47:02Speaker 1: we got him from me? Your son? I mean he

- 47:09Speaker 1: I'm always in seeing him swim, but it seems like
- 47:12Speaker 1: he is. You know, we've been trying to figure out

- 47:19Speaker 1: Slim man. I don't want to get into it with you,
- 47:24Speaker 1: your son. We finally narrowed it down. Your son is

- 47:29Speaker 1: you know it's really a bad thing. Uh. We can't
- 47:32Speaker 1: continue to keep letting them come over here. We gotta

- 50:18Speaker 1: the one that's being our boat. He's fearing whatever whatever.
- 50:23Speaker 1: For Right now, all I'm asking is is keep your
- 50:26Speaker 1: son away from the pool for the next two weeks.

- 50:30Speaker 1: him to come back. Okay, ain't he ain't staying away
- 50:32Speaker 1: from the pool for two weeks. If he do, he
- 50:35Speaker 1: gonna come back and do some motion pool. I'm gonna

- 54:49Speaker 1: We got it for you. Here it is strawberry letter.
- 54:51Speaker 1: Thank you nephew. Subject is he here from me or
- 54:54Speaker 1: just the baby? Dear Stephen Shirley. I am a twenty
- 54:58Speaker 1: seven year old woman and I have a one year
- 55:00Speaker 1: old son. I met his father almost two years ago,
- 55:03Speaker 1: and when we met, I assumed he was single because
- 55:06Speaker 1: he approached me and spent a lot of uninterrupted time
- 55:10Speaker 1: with me. Come to find out he has been in
- 55:12Speaker 1: a relationship for eight years. It was too late to
- 55:15Speaker 1: cut him off because I was already pregnant. We argued
- 55:19Speaker 1: over and over again about how he lied to me,
- 55:22Speaker 1: and he said he never lied, He just didn't tell
- 55:25Speaker 1: me that he had a girlfriend. He became very involved
- 55:28Speaker 1: with the pregnancy, and I fell in love because of
- 55:31Speaker 1: all the attention and my hormones. His girlfriend found out
- 55:35Speaker 1: about me and the baby during my second trimester of
- 55:38Speaker 1: the pregnancy. He started to change because of a constant
- 55:42Speaker 1: arguing between him and his girlfriend. I felt bad about it,
- 55:45Speaker 1: but there was nothing I could do. Now he became
- 55:48Speaker 1: more distant, so I moved back to my hometown so
- 55:51Speaker 1: I could have family support to raise my child. He
- 55:54Speaker 1: came to see me every month and went to most
- 55:57Speaker 1: of my doctor's visits with me. When I had the baby,
- 56:00Speaker 1: he was there in the delivery room and stayed two
- 56:02Speaker 1: weeks after our son was born so he could bond
- 56:05Speaker 1: with him. When he left town, I was heartbroken. He
- 56:10Speaker 1: came to visit a few more times, and I'm not
- 56:12Speaker 1: sure what he told his girlfriend, but she never bothered us.
- 56:18Speaker 1: Every time he's with me, he tells me how much
- 56:20Speaker 1: he loves me and wants to stay, Yet he still
- 56:23Speaker 1: leaves me every time. He says he's only staying with
- 56:27Speaker 1: her because she forgave him for cheating, so he's having
- 56:30Speaker 1: a hard time breaking her heart again. I'm so confused.
- 56:34Speaker 1: I need to know if he's just here for our
- 56:36Speaker 1: son or if he's really working on being with me.
- 56:39Speaker 1: Do you think he's just leading me on so he
- 56:42Speaker 1: won't have any baby mama drama. Well it's a little
- 56:45Speaker 1: late for to talk about baby mama drama, because you know,
- 56:50Speaker 1: he has a lot of that. He has a lot
- 56:52Speaker 1: of drama in his life. You know, he doesn't want
- 56:56Speaker 1: any baby mama drama, but he's got all kinds. His
- 57:01Speaker 1: life is drama filled when you think about it. You know,
- 57:04Speaker 1: he's with you, he's with her for eight years, he's
- 57:08Speaker 1: been with you for two you're pregnant now. Then he
- 57:14Speaker 1: doesn't tell you that he's with her, I mean with
- 57:18Speaker 1: you and with her. He doesn't tell her that he's
- 57:21Speaker 1: with you. That's what I'm trying to say. So she
- 57:25Speaker 1: finds out about the pregnancy in your second trimester, and
- 57:29Speaker 1: that's a mess according to him, because they're arguing all
- 57:33Speaker 1: the time. But again, she's still with him. So is
- 57:36Speaker 1: she his girlfriend? Is she his wife? I'm confused, really,
- 57:39Speaker 1: I'm confused too. It's a lot of drama. He didn't
- 57:43Speaker 1: tell you that he was in a relationship for eight years.
- 57:45Speaker 1: Why not? Did you not ask or did he not
- 57:48Speaker 1: act like it? You said, he's spent a lot of
- 57:50Speaker 1: uninterrupted time, and then you know the fact that you
- 57:53Speaker 1: guys didn't wear condoms and you got pregnant. That's a
- 57:55Speaker 1: lot of drama. I will give him credit for one thing,
- 57:59Speaker 1: and that's wanting to spend time with the baby. But
- 58:02Speaker 1: you know, I mean, you did the right thing by
- 58:04Speaker 1: moving away and having some support to help you raise
- 58:08Speaker 1: your child. But this whole thing is confusing and it's
- 58:11Speaker 1: a mess because she's still in his life. He's telling
- 58:14Speaker 1: you the only reason he's staying with her is because
- 58:18Speaker 1: of what did he say? That is ridiculous. She's not
- 58:24Speaker 1: your wife or is she? Is that the lie that
- 58:26Speaker 1: you're not telling, because this sounds more like a wifie
- 58:29Speaker 1: situation than a girlfriend. She forgave him for cheating. That's
- 58:33Speaker 1: the only reason he's staying with her. Does that make
- 58:36Speaker 1: sense to you? Because it doesn't to me. Who does that?
- 58:39Speaker 1: I don't know. You say, you're so confused. I'm so
- 58:42Speaker 1: confused with this. The main thing is your child should
- 58:46Speaker 1: be taken care of. So I hope you're getting child
- 58:49Speaker 1: support from this man. I like the fact that he
- 58:52Speaker 1: is spending some time with him. But you guys, relationship
- 58:56Speaker 1: it's nothing, It really is nothing. I think you need
- 58:59Speaker 1: to get your child support, like I said, and move on. Steve.
- 59:04Speaker 1: The question is in the subject is he here for
- 59:10Speaker 1: me or just the baby? Well? I think he's there
- 59:16Speaker 1: for both. This letter is so interesting because It even
- 59:23Speaker 1: exposes to me as a man, the depth of which
- 59:29Speaker 1: some of us will go. And this one is pretty impressive,
- 59:34Speaker 1: I must tell you. I know a lot of dudes
- 59:37Speaker 1: can pull a lot of things, but this one here
- 59:43Speaker 1: is impressive. You've been with him, you got a baby,
- 59:50Speaker 1: one year old son, met his father two years ago.
- 59:55Speaker 1: Now here's the part, ladies, when we met, I assu
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: boomed he was single because he approached me and spent
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: a lot of unerupted time with me a lot. See
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: you assumed he was single because he approached you. That
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: ain't nothing. And he spent some uninterrupted time. What other
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: time can he spend with you? Hold on, my girl calling,
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: hold on, I'll be right my baby. Oh hill, a
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: lot of interrupted hold on? Here she go again. Man,
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: I'm trying to talk to you. We'll be back. I'm
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: gonna straighten it out for you, all right. Yeah. Part
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: two coming up of Steve's response too, is he here
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: for me or just the baby? We'll be back at
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: twenty three minutes after the hour right after this. You're
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: listening show, all right, Steve, come on, let's recap today's
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: strawberry letter. Is he here for me or just the baby?
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: He here for both of y'all. And this dude right
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: here is amazing as a man. This that he's pulling off.
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: This WA's pretty good here dog. When we met, I
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: assumed he was single because he approached me and spent
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: a lot of uninterrupted time with me. That's nothing. He
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: approached you married me and do it all the time.
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: And he spent a lot of uninterrupted time with me.
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: That means he didn't answer his phone, he didn't return
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: no text. He stayed over there for a while. Come
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: to find out he's been in a relationship for eight years.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: It was too late to cut him off because I
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: was already pregnant. Here we go. We all get over
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: and over again about how he lied to me. And
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: he said he never lied, he just didn't tell me
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: he had a girlfriend. Come on, boy, that's the line
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: of lines. Wait a minute, I didn't lie to you.
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: I just didn't tell you I had a girlfriend. So
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: watch what he did. This is the truth. Man. I'm
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: crazy about you. He is. Man God, I can't believe
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: I met you. He can't girl. You you the finest
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: woman ever, Matt. You are. I can't believe I met
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: somebody who left you. He can't. I don't know what
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: I'd do without you. He don't know all that's true.
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: He just didn't tell you he had a girlfriend. That's all.
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: What a line, my man, that gotta go down in
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: the books. That got to go down as one of
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: the great lines. I did not lie to you. I
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: just didn't tell y'all had a girlfriend. Come on, boy,
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: all right, now, let's move on. He became very involved
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: with the pregnancy, and you fell in love. Because of
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: all attention and my hormones. His girlfriend found out about
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: me and the baby. Second try, Mester, he started to
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: change because of the constant argon between him and his girlfriend.
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: I felt bad about it when nothing I could do now,
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: so he became more distant. So you moved back to
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: your hometown so you can have family support you raise
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: your child. He came to see you every month and
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: went to most of my doctor's visits with me. When
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: I had the baby, he was there in the delivery room,
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: and he stayed two weeks after our son was born
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: so he could bond with him. When he left, I
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: was heartbroken. He came to visit a few more times.
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: I ain't sure what he told his girlfriend, but she
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: never botheredt us. Now, I don't know what he told
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: his girlfriend, but I'm gonna take a shot at it.
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: Say I got a job out of town company retreat. Yeah,
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: I got a transfer. Yeah I'm back, transferred in last
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: long Yeah that's I'm assuming that's what he told his girl,
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: because you got to tell him something. Now, every time
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: he's with me, he tells me how much he loves
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: me and wants to stay. This is how he holds you, right,
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: because he tells you what you want to hear, how
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: much he loves me and he wants to stay. Yet
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: he still leaves me every time. But when he come back,
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: he tells you the same thing. Because this line holds you,
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: It keeps you in hope, he said. He said he
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: only staying with it because she forgave him for cheating.
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: So he's having a hard time breaking her heart again.
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: Not seeing this line right here. You need to stop.
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: This the worst line I've ever seen in my life.
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: And I can't believe you told it to it and
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: I can't believe she typed it. Bo. This is the
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: most ignot mess and surely had it right. I don't
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: know how you think this is acceptable. I would stay
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: with her, but since I broke her heart before, she
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: forgave me for cheating. That's why I'm staying with her.
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: Because I cheated on her and it hurt her. But
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: whatever me. But I ain't cheat on you. I cheated
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: with you, boy, she said, I'm so confused. I need
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: to know if he's just here for our son, if
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: he's really working on being with me. He's there for
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: both of y'all because he can come see his son.
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: He's I've actually gonna be probably a great dad. You
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: know he probably is, But he ain't got to work
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: on being with you because he can be with you
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: whenever he comes to see his son. This is a
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: man who's getting it, getting his cake and eating it too.
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: He got you every time him he come and see
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: him something. How good is this? I can come see
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: my son and get sup. I can come see my
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: son and get sop and then go back to my
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: eighth year relationship and tell her that job didn't work out.
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: I'm back. Is he just leading me on so he
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: won't have any baby mama drama? Listen to me, Sister
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: Shirley said this, and I'm gonna say it a different way.
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: Anytime you leading two lives, you and drama. His whole
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: life is a bundle of lies. He can't sleep good
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: and now he'd told me to lies. He don't know
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: what truth is. He leads two lives with her and
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: with you, and now there as a baby included this dude.
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: I don't know how he's sleeping at night. It's rough
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: over there. Yeah, it is all right, Steve. Thank you.
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: Post your comments on today's Strawberry Letters Steve Harvey FM
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: on Instagram and Facebook, and check out the Strawberry Letter
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: podcast on demand. They're coming up at forty six minutes
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: after the hour, or tell Me Something Good News segment
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: right after this. You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: Time now for our tell Me Something Good segment. Here
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: is some good news a very own nephew, Tommy. Steve,
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: you should be proud of your nephew and his foundation
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: miles of giving well. Tommy and his foundation hosted a
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: free COVID nineteen testing public sight events in his hometown
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: of Houston. Local and public health officials say that younger
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: people going out to bars and clubs and things like that,
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: they're just not taking the virus seriously. So tell us.
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: You know why you decided to do what you did,
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: and it's important, you know, for all of us to
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: give back. But it's important to you why. Well, I
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: did it mainly for vets, you know, because I opened
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: it up for them, for them to be able to
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: come out. But it was open up to all the
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: people to come out and do it. And I actually
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: did it. I did it with the test. Yeah I did.
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: I saw your picture. I saw your ass try to
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: flinch when she jammed the thing up your nose. Did
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: you flinch when they did it to you? Dog? I
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: damned the slappits hands. I grabbed Tommy, I grabbed his
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: wrist because he stuck it up in my nose. It
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: made a left turn in mind, Steve, I think the
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: Steves was longer, you know what I'm saying. I think
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: since he got his done, they've changed it a little
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: bit because mine wasn't as long I've seen like the Steves.
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: It was a little shorter than your. No, seriously, man,
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: this thing they put in my nose, you mean, the
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: length of the sway was damn near straw with that
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: little clinkly part where you can bend it. Yeah, but
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: I got it done. Got tested, had like about two
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: hundreds some of our cards to pull through, and we
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: did this. We did this in Houston, Texas at my
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: UM at my old high school that's now high school.
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: So that was that was cool to go back to
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: my neighborhood and do something. Big Man's good job. Side
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: by side were the veterans. Tommy the vecheans was good,
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: took pictures with him, hung out with him, talked to
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: him through the mask of course, of course yes, and
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: then some of them want to take the mask. Called
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: for a pitch. You'd be like, man, if you don't
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: put this man's background, you good, Tomlan, because I can't haul.
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: I can't do it in my high school. Anybody gonna come, Steve,
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: you just did a graduate zoom oh virtually virtually anybody
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: going one hundred and thirteen disappear man in Cleveland. Lord Jesus,
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: well that's the issue. I'm glad that you guys. You
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: did that. Timmy, you put you gotta go to the
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: neighborhood and open it up because a lot of people
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: are not having what you can get tested in the neighborhood.
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: And that's the key. Come on out, let's get that's great.
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: Really good access to Yeah, gair access to it. That's
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: great time. And you took yours and it's all good
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: and you're mine. Yeah. I got home my wife and
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: I said, and I'll sit your ass down. You ain't
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: gonna know what not. We know you straight. You ain't
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: leaving this house. I'm all right. Well, coming up at
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: the top of the hour. What's going on in my
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: hometown Chicago. Wow, we'll talk about this right after this.
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: You're listening to show. Wow, this is craziness going on
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: in Chicago. One hundred and four people were shot over
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: the Father's Day weekend. There were fourteen fatalities. Five children
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: among those killed, including a three year old boy. This
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: all happened, Yeah, just last weekend. Over the Father's Day weekend,
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: Chicago saw its highest number of gun violence victims this year.
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown is saying there must be
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: a change in sentence for violent offenders, and home monitoring
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: systems are not working. Take a listen, let's keep violent
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: offenders in jail longer, and let's revamp the home monitoring program.
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: It's not working. For God's sake. Wow, when the police
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: ye so surely all these this is not like one
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: big event something happened. This is just different. Yeah. Random
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: random shootings across the city. Random shootings across the city. Yeah.
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: You know, we have enough to deal with. We really do.
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: With the racial injustices that's going on with the COVID nineteen.
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: We've got to find a solution. Uh. The thing that's
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: happening though, is this is something that only we can fix. Yeah,
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: we we have to. We have to find a way
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: to reach our young people. I mean, we have got
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: to find a way to reach our young people. And
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: we can't sit around and say, well, they listening, well,
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: because they listen to us to get started. We cannot
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: take the attitude that they won't listen to us because
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: I found in my mentoring program the young men will
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: listen to you. They just need somebody to want to
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: talk to them. Yeah, and you can reach these young people. Man,
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: we just got to get real serious about it. I
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: don't have all the answers to it, but we've got
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: to do something. We have got to do something within
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: ourselves to read it is. And it's going to take
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: black men to go home to fix this. The government
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: is not coming. They never have, they never will. The
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: laws are not coming. We need black men to step
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: up and get active in these young people's lives and
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: provide mennership to them. We've got to do that. We've
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: got to give them some type of guidance and some
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: type of moral compass to go by man. Because when
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: you don't have a moral compass man, when you have
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: no faith based background, when you have no sense of
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: conscious or value of life, this can happen so readily.
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: And I understand the conditions out there, their conditions perpetrate
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: this type of attitude. I get it. But these conditions
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: have been the same for a long long time. Speaking
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: of faith leaders, Steve, they said that we're hurting fathers,
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: we're hurting parents, and we're and fed up black men.
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: Enough is enough. They're saying that enough is enough. So
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: they're agreeing with you. This is in Chicago. Yeah, it's
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: I mean, one hundred and four people shot. That is
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: an incredible number right there. I don't understand how everything
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: that's going on we got time to fight each other.
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: I don't get that. Well, that is Fortunately, an innocent
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: child has life before it even gets started. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: five children, three year old killed. This three year old
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: boy was in the car with his stepfather, so they
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: obviously the police think he was the target. There was
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: a young girl, I think she was like eleven to
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: twelve of a young girl in a house watching TV. Yeah,
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: shot and kill it's in your house. Yeah, unbelievable. We're
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: just dealing with so much. Yeah, fourteen fatality, five children
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: among those killed, including the three year old boy that
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: Carla just spoke up. But one hundred and four people
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: shot in Chicago over the weekend. Unbelievable. Gotta do something, Yeah,
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: it really does. I mean, with everything else we're going
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: through now, I mean, come on, come on, Yeah, we
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: have to do better. We to do better. I mean,
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: we have our issues with the police. All right, Wow,
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: coming up, we'll have more of today's trending stories on
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: the Steve Harvey Morning Show at twenty minutes after the
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: hour right after this. You're listening to this Dave Harvey
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: Morning Show. The fight for justice for Brianna Taylor continues
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: this Thursday, June twenty fifth attorney Benjamin Crump, civil rights
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: activists Tomka Mallory, and Brianna's mother, to Mika Palmer, and
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: other community members and activists for a march to the
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: Kentucky State Capitol Building in Frankfurt. Are demanding Attorney General
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: Daniel Cameron arrest all of the Louisville Police officers involved
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: in Brianna Taylor's murder. All of them. Okay, one of
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: the officers involved, his name is Brent Hankison, will be fired.
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: A G. Daniel Cameron is African American, and we are
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: demanding justice for Brianna Taylor, whether he's African American or not.
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: Bar If five of us go into a house and
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: we shoot it up and somebody dies, five of us
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: are going to prison that day. That day. They don't
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: give a damn about the investigation. You were there, which
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: makes you just as accountable because if you had not
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: been there, we don't know. But this person could still
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: be alive. That's what happened to this woman, Brianna Taylor,
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: And so we see. That's why I'm screaming, man, I've
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: got to find a way. I don't know how to
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: do it, but I'm gonna get it. I'm pushing from
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: mandatory police sentencing because just like we have mandatory sentencing
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: and they are hired to uphold the law, they shouldn't
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: have to uphold the law. And not only uphold it,
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: they should have to abide by it, just like we do. Right.
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: And it's hard, but it's not impossible. It's hard because
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: they've been doing it this way for so long, but
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: it's not impossible. It's easy not to kill a person. Yeah,
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: it's really easy not to kill a person. Hell, just
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: say no magic trick. I've managed to not kill nobody
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: for sixty three years and I had no damn. Please Train,
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: you're listening all right, Steve, It is time. It is
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: time for ask the clo. This one is from Kim
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: and Hampton, Virginia. Kim says, I'm thirty two years old
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: and I've been dating a guy for seven months. I
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: met his parents last weekend and his mom is very sweet,
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: but his daddy is a pervert. And dad cornered me
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: in the hallway as I was leaving the restroom, and
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: he whispered that he's a bad boy. Then he told
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: me to rub him to see what he's working with.
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: What I'm going, daddie. I went and told my boyfriend
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: and he laughed and said his dad is harmless. He
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: asked me to chill before I made a scene. I
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: think my boyfriend should have checked his dirty old daddy.
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: Am I wrong? You're wrong? A son to his father.
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: He don't see that side, and he don't want to
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: see that side. Man, my daddy homeless. Well, he don't
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: really know his daddy like that, you know, he just
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: know him as the father son. He never seen him
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: flirting with chicks before. He don't know his daddy perverted.
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: He don't know. And for you to bring it up,
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: he just say he gonna check his father. Pop. You
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: won't be up in here talking to her like that.
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: The respect level and that respect has a little bit
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: of fitting for you farther and I believe that's what
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: it is. And you know, just avoid his father, stay
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: away from him. He could be a good guy. I mean,
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: you de dude you with and he didn't took you
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: to meet his mama. That's a good sign after seven moments.
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: So just avoid the dad. His dad could be perverted
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: and his son don't know what that's like. Yeah, hopefully
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: it don't go no further than that. I'm gonna see
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: what I don't work. And then you find to the
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: boy and the daddy. Yeah, so congratulations, but just stay
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: away from the daddy. That's what being stuck to do
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: and then if it happens add then you're gonna have
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: to point it out to it. Sign again you might
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: have to go your husband. Your husband touching my ass
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: every time I'm coming in the hallway, and I needed
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: to stop Miss Peterson in pervert. Yeah all right right,
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: Joanne and Carence Texas says, I'm a twenty nine year
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: old Caucasian woman and I love your show. My problem
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: is with my husband. All he wants to do is
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: go fishing and hang out at the lake with his buddies.
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: Since we aren't quarantined anymore. I asked him what's the problem,
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: and he said, I nag him constantly. He said, we
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: need some time apart, and he's been staying on our boat.
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: I know he's not cheating because my brother and my
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: cousin stay on the boat too. He's been home to
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: shower and change clothes. Then he leaves. Will snap out
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: of this eventually, Yes, he didn't. Got tired of you
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: in in the quarantine. Yeah, he white people, Steve, they
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: got scared everybody black and white. He tied of your ass.
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: He downed at the boat with your brother, any damn body.
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: Huan got on his nerves in the corner and he
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: will snap out of it. But give him a minute thought.
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: Coming up, it's our last break of the day, last
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: break of the day, and we'll have some closing remarks
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: from the one and only Steve Harvey coming up at
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: forty nine minutes after right after this, you're listening to
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: morning show. All right, Steve. Here we are guys, last
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: break of the day on this Tuesday. Don't forget to
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: get out and vote in the Tuck States for Kentucky
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: and New York. Please, but really Kentucky, right, Entucky, Come on, Kentucky,
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: don't let it down. Virginia, Virginia too, New York. We
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: need y'all, We need them all. Get out and vote today.
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: Please clean sweet, there's just a dress rehearsal. Can you
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: ready for the fall? Because you know, let me close
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: by saying this, and every day I've been not really
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: thinking about my closing marks, but just really speaking from
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: on the inside. So I've decided not to change that.
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: But you know what, man, as a black person in
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: this country, what I am increasingly disheartened by. First of all,
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: before I say that, let me say this that I
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: am a bit optimistic doing this protest because, like I've said,
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: almost every day, this is the first time I've ever
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: seen these many non African Americans protesting for something that
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: affects black people so deeply, and for that, I'm actually grateful.
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: I'm very, very proud of the young people that's out
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: there pushing as hard as they have across this country.
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: And I'm really really appreciative of the non African American
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: support that we've gotten. I really appreciate that because I
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: said in the beginning, when it's all started, I said,
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: the only way this is ever going to be dealt
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: with effectively is if we can get some white outrage.
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: I remember a few weeks ago, I was doing closing
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: remarks with the title, I'm just looking for a few
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: good white folks, because I know they out there. I
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: know they are, and they showed up. They have showed up.
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: The disheartening part is the sheer number of non African
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: Americans who have no empathy for this cause at all,
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: who want things to remain as they are, no matter
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: how painful it may be for us. It's some people
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: don't care how you are affected by the Confederate flag,
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: how you are affected by our history, how you are
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: affected by our statues. How you're affected by our laws?
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: How do you affected by our voter suppression? How you
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: affected by the way we call you when we call
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: the police? How were affected? How even they don't even
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: care how you feel about your kids getting shot because
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: it ain't happening to them. And it's disheartening when you
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: see it over and over and over again, even in
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: the light of protests, in the light of all the
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: changes that corporations are making. They taking ancient Mima off
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: the box, Uncle being off the box. They're trying to
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: make changes everywhere. Nike. When you go to Nike's website,
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: which I tried to go through the other thing, the
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: first thing pop up is black lives matters. That's never
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: happened before. If you remember, just a couple of years ago,
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: when Black Lives Matter came out, they destroyed that slogan.
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: They came back with all Lives matter. See, black Lives
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: Matter does not say to you you we don't think
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: that nobody else's lives matter, or we don't think that
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: our lives matter more than yours. We just want you
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: to feel about us the way we feel about it.
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: Our life should count just like everybody else's life count.
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: That's all black lives matter. Saying, see, you got to
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: quit passing this justice out like this pie. I heard
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: somebody said, man, and that then stuck with me. Justice
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: ain't like pie, where if you give us too big
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: of a slice, that means less for you. That's not
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: how justice works. Justice should be for all people. We
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: built this country. We're the reason this country prospers. There's
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: so many families that are non African American that have
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: substantial wealth, and it was built from the slavery empire.
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: That's a fact. That's a fact. When you have generational
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: wealth in this country, in the textile business, in the
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: service business, in the in the cigarette business, in the
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: alcohol business, in the cleaning business, in the farming business,
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: in the church business, you can trace it back to slavery.
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: You can run it all the way back to slavery.
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: And the reason you had slaves in the first place,
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: because you didn't want to do the work. You brought
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: us over here for free. Label. It's disheartening the number
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: of people who are hanging on to that. It's disheartening, man,
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: But in fact, it's past disheartening. It's right out damn sickening,
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: and you make me sick. You make me sick with
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: your hatred of us, You make me sick with it.
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: A person has the right to ask for equality. We
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: ain't asking for superiority. We're asking for equality. God, what's
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: wrong with that? We're just asking to be the same
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: as everybody else, not more. But we want to quit
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: being less. My children should not. I shouldn't have to
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: feel when my children lead a house. I'm tired of
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: talking to my sons about this. But you know, the
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: sad thing is, it looks like I'm gonna have to
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: tell it to my grandsons because it's enough for y'all
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: that don't give a damn how we feel. So could
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: you not understand when they turn around and don't give
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: a damn how you feel for just a moment, Because
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: if it was happening to you, I bet you would
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: feel the exact same way. As a matter of fact,
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: you would feel worse because you've had a life of
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: privilege and to watch your children going down would affect
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: you even more, I believe. But it really can't affect
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: you anymore because we as hurt as hurt can be,
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: and we just seek up for all Steve Harvey Contests.
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: No purchase necessary, void where prohibited. Participants must be legal
