- 1:04Welcome back to 6 Tales of Christmas, where stories
- 1:08of compassion and opportunities for impact take center stage.
- 1:13Today, get ready for our final tale of the year, one that
- 1:16brings a whole new appreciation and love for the number 0.
- 1:20So get cozy, grab a cup of hot cocoa, and listen
- 1:24in about the tale of the indecisive zeros, but don't
- 1:28let their nickname fool you. By the end of this story, the zeros
- 1:31might just surprise
- 1:38you. Once upon a time, in the bustling numeria, the land of
- 1:42numbers, there lived a small cluster of zeros.
- 1:46They weren't like any other numbers. They seemed smaller, see
- 1:49through. They weren't even there. They weren't so
- 1:53impressive and confident like the ones, who were always busy leading
- 1:56the way, 1st place winners with gold trophies,
- 2:00or those fives who liked being in a place of prominence, giving high fives
- 2:04or 5 star reviews, and tens while they
- 2:08were always looking so important and big everywhere they went.
- 2:1210 out of 10, the 10 commandments. But the little
- 2:15zeros, they didn't quite know where they fit feeling
- 2:19like they had zero importance and zero impact.
- 2:23Why were they even there? Could they really make a
- 2:26difference?
- 2:31Woah. Well, like It was New Year's
- 2:34Eve, the favorite time of year in numeria.
- 2:38People loved numbers on this special day and would come down to the great
- 2:42giving square, picking which numbers to give to the
- 2:45causes they cared about, swiping and tapping the phones to get their
- 2:49numbers supporting some pretty amazing non profits. And
- 2:53when it got close to midnight, the crowds would count down all the
- 2:56numbers with cheers and enthusiasm. 9, 8, 8,
- 3:009, 1, 3, 2, 1. 9, 8, 8,
- 3:049, 4, 3, 2, 1,
- 3:098.
- 3:14All the numbers that is, except 0.
- 3:19The cluster of zeros stood there to the side, feeling indecisive of
- 3:23what to do. I mean, no one even shouted out their
- 3:26number for the New Year's countdown. And what could a 0
- 3:30do for charitable causes? Zilch,
- 3:34or so they thought.
- 3:41The 0 stood there on the edge of the square, fidgeting their hands
- 3:44nervously in their empty pockets. Should we even be
- 3:48here? They couldn't decide. Why
- 3:52so glum? Asked 7, juggling donations like a
- 3:55pro. We just don't know where we fit, said
- 3:59one of the zeros. We're not like you or 10
- 4:03or any of you, really. We're we're nothing.
- 4:077 chuckled. Oh, little zeros, don't you
- 4:11see? Together, you're the secret to turning something
- 4:14small into something great. Stand next to 1
- 4:18and you'll make it 10. Join 10 and you're
- 4:22a 100. Go in clusters and you can make me
- 4:26and 5 become 75,000.
- 4:30You're not nothing, you're potential. With that,
- 4:347 went right into the middle of the Great Giving Square where the band was
- 4:38playing musical numbers and grabbed a microphone.
- 4:42Hey, hey. Can I have everyone's attention? We
- 4:46have a cluster of zeros here in our land and really need to
- 4:50be included in our celebrations. So as you pick your numbers
- 4:53to donate for causes you care about, think about adding
- 4:57zeros to your year end generosity. Zeros can help
- 5:00transform the community. The cluster of
- 5:04zeros blushed as donors and digits started looking their way and
- 5:08inviting them to join in. Some donors were bold,
- 5:12adding lots of zeros without hesitation. Others were
- 5:15careful, adding just 1 or 2. But whether a single
- 5:190 or a cluster of zeros were chosen, something amazing
- 5:23began to happen. The more zeros that were added,
- 5:26the more these donations were transforming the community.
- 5:30Hundreds of families were cared for in the Canadian cities rather than handfuls.
- 5:35Thousands more people were impacted by hearing impactful stories through
- 5:39podcasts. Now more and more cities were being supported with
- 5:42training and technology to care for more people in hard places.
- 5:47Lives are being changed and more impact was being created.
- 5:51And the curious thing is, the more people cheerfully gave with
- 5:55generosity, the more there was to give.
- 5:58Zeros were transforming the community.
- 6:06And so the indecisive zeros found their purpose and the
- 6:10exponential power that they held. This year, as we
- 6:13wrap up our journey together, we invite you to do the same.
- 6:18Choose your zeros. Surprise us with your zeros, and we'll
- 6:22surprise you how much impact your giving makes. And
- 6:26you might just be surprised by how much god surprises you
- 6:29with joy in giving. Year end giving isn't just about
- 6:33numbers on a page. It's about building a generous
- 6:37legacy of compassion and realizing what really
- 6:40matters. So what will your story be? Will
- 6:44you step up into the giving square and add a 0?
- 6:48Remember, zeros you choose today will shape the true
- 6:52stories of tomorrow. Here's to 0 and here's
- 6:55to you. Let's end the year with generosity
- 6:59that's anything but indecisive. Until next time,
- 7:02keep caring, keep giving, and keep choosing
- 7:06your zeroes.
- 7:11As we wrap up 2024, I wanna thank you, our dear Journey with
- 7:15Care Sojourners, for being part of this amazing community of honest
- 7:19storytelling and curious truth seeking. Thank you for investing in
- 7:23the Ministry of Care Impact so the communities across Canada can flourish.
- 7:27Will you join us in creating greater impact? We invite you to
- 7:31choose your zeros when you go to careimpact.ca/

- 7:42dollars, or maybe you've never even considered
- 7:45giving to Carry Impact until now. Let's not be like indecisive
- 7:49zeros who feel like we have nothing to give and can't imagine making a
- 7:53difference. Whether it's a little or a lot, you can give and you
- 7:57can make an incredible difference in the lives who need
- 8:00your timely support through our ministry. Know that today is a
- 8:04great day to give. Not only does your generosity change lives,
- 8:08but every dollar is matched until New Year's Eve midnight.
- 8:12Surprise us with your zeros, and we'll surprise you with how much impact your
