- 2:16Speaker 1: good time. She puts a smile on my face and
- 2:18Speaker 1: she inspires my viewers and my listeners, Tamla man to
- 2:21Speaker 1: money making conversations, Tamla, what's going on? Hey are you?
- 2:28Speaker 1: I'm doing fantastic And I always got a lot to say.
- 2:30Speaker 1: When you come on the show, you look fantastic. I
- 2:33Speaker 1: see awards behind you. Are they blessings? You know? People
- 2:36Speaker 1: always say you know you're you're achieve a certain level.
- 2:38Speaker 1: It can be a blessing and a curse. Talk about
- 2:41Speaker 1: that experience of being successful talent of Land. Well, I
- 2:45Speaker 1: won't say it's a curse, but sometimes you're not gonna please.
- 2:48Speaker 1: The thing how I've learned is you're not gonna please everybody,
- 2:51Speaker 1: so I enjoy it. I mean, I'm just living, as
- 2:55Speaker 1: the kids say, now, I'm living my best life, and
- 2:57Speaker 1: I really thank God for the favor that he's giving me.
- 3:00Speaker 1: But I mean thank God for the awards. But I
- 3:03Speaker 1: don't try not to get caught up into all of that.
- 3:05Speaker 1: I just like certain. I just love certain. We're not
- 3:08Speaker 1: Look at Tom Brady when he wanted the super Bowl.
- 3:11Speaker 1: You know, he said he wanted to win another super Bowl.
- 3:13Speaker 1: And that's and I think that's that's what we have
- 3:16Speaker 1: to understand that don't hold on what sometimes to what
- 3:19Speaker 1: you've accomplished. Look at what you can do. And I've
- 3:22Speaker 1: always thought that about you. Know, you know, I love David.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Your husbands are deaf. And today I got you by
- 3:27Speaker 1: yourself today to talk about the things you're doing for
- 3:29Speaker 1: your career, because it always seems that sometimes when you
- 3:32Speaker 1: are married, you can get caught up and people just
- 3:34Speaker 1: think you can only do things as a pair, you
- 3:36Speaker 1: don't have a life. But I've always seen you as
- 3:38Speaker 1: an individual and saw him as a successful individual. Talk
- 3:41Speaker 1: about that relationship as a couple and then defining yourself
- 3:45Speaker 1: as tambla man. As a couple, I can say for myself,
- 3:51Speaker 1: I look at us as being a powerful couple because
- 3:54Speaker 1: of us believing in supporting one another. And we just
- 3:57Speaker 1: try to be examples for other people to see that
- 4:01Speaker 1: you can't work together and you know, be some shakers
- 4:04Speaker 1: and be some movers to get some things done because
- 4:07Speaker 1: we're just really sent to be encourages and as individuals,
- 4:11Speaker 1: it works for us because we we're not jealous of
- 4:15Speaker 1: each other. We're in each other's corners. We have each
- 4:18Speaker 1: other's best interested hard and making whatever that gold is
- 4:22Speaker 1: or desire that you have, we want to make it
- 4:25Speaker 1: come to pass. For each other, like now David got
- 4:27Speaker 1: my career often going, and now I want him. I
- 4:30Speaker 1: told him, let's do it. Let's go do whatever you
- 4:32Speaker 1: need to do, we want to do. Let's make that happen.
- 4:35Speaker 1: And we're just used to allowing each other to have
- 4:38Speaker 1: that light. If it's it's time to be in the light,
- 4:41Speaker 1: I'm cool with just standing in the background, sharing them
- 4:43Speaker 1: on and vice versa. For me, well, the beauty of
- 4:47Speaker 1: being in the background. You really ain't in the background, tamer, Okay,
- 4:50Speaker 1: you know you're so much. You're in front of me.
- 4:57Speaker 1: You're from a lot of people, girl, especially they gospel world,
- 5:00Speaker 1: and that's a beautiful thing because we don't know the
- 5:03Speaker 1: journeys that we see. We always do is wake up
- 5:05Speaker 1: in the morning. We feel blessed because God aloud us.
- 5:08Speaker 1: I way tell be A long clock doesn't wake me
- 5:10Speaker 1: up God, you know, LO just have to be some
- 5:13Speaker 1: physical tool that reminds me that I can get up
- 5:16Speaker 1: at a certain time. But I get up. But I
- 5:19Speaker 1: look at your schedule and let me just tell y'all
- 5:20Speaker 1: something about tell the man when they this hard working
- 5:23Speaker 1: should be her middle name. Hard working should be David
- 5:26Speaker 1: Mane mid while working on the album Overcome. She filmed
- 5:30Speaker 1: two movies, So Sata and the new Tyler Parish movie
- 5:34Speaker 1: Mdeal because remember Tyler said he wasn't gonna do Madal
- 5:36Speaker 1: no more. Okay, but they roll that check in front
- 5:39Speaker 1: of you, make you do a lot of things, make
- 5:42Speaker 1: you do a lot of things. Okay. You know what
- 5:45Speaker 1: he wanted to bring laughter two And we've been going
- 5:49Speaker 1: through so much. She was like, yeah, I just wanted
- 5:51Speaker 1: us to get together and made people laugh at me.
- 5:54Speaker 1: So he's really this movie is Homecoming, is gonna make
- 5:59Speaker 1: y'all la. I'm telling you it's some funny jump going
- 6:02Speaker 1: on in this movie. And when y'all see what's going on,
- 6:06Speaker 1: Mr Brown, I tell you it's hilarious. I can see.
- 6:12Speaker 1: I can see Tyler Perry at the Netflix office right,
- 6:16Speaker 1: I ain't ever gonna do uh madea no more then
- 6:20Speaker 1: that man said wrote some numbers times. He probably broke
- 6:23Speaker 1: out the madea right there? Which I want? Which I want? Girl?
- 6:26Speaker 1: Which start calling y'all from Netflix, girl, Mr Brooke, get
- 6:31Speaker 1: Mr Browser from get them close out that closet. Mdia
- 6:35Speaker 1: is back in the filmmaking business right right. I love it.
- 6:41Speaker 1: I love it. Tell us about Soul Santa now, because
- 6:46Speaker 1: I mean and that that's the whole soul. Santa is
- 6:49Speaker 1: gonna be something really different for us as a couple.
- 6:52Speaker 1: We still as a couple, but we have some disagreements
- 6:57Speaker 1: going on here. But it's serious. You know, it's a
- 7:00Speaker 1: drummer um. Normally, you know we have comedy, uh and drama,
- 7:05Speaker 1: but this time it's just more drummer and David is
- 7:08Speaker 1: you get to see him in a different light. And
- 7:10Speaker 1: I really believe it's a really really cute, loving Christmas movie.
- 7:15Speaker 1: It's just gonna put you in a Christmas sphere. Well,
- 7:17Speaker 1: you know the thing about that when I talked about
- 7:19Speaker 1: like I always look at Kevin Hard and I always
- 7:21Speaker 1: telling people Kevin Hodg's gonna win Oscar because you can
- 7:24Speaker 1: really act. He's a He structured his career where you
- 7:26Speaker 1: can accept him as a comedian and now you can
- 7:28Speaker 1: accept him as a serious actor. And and I've always
- 7:31Speaker 1: seen David and because he's he's he's he's a person.
- 7:35Speaker 1: When you said out and talked to him, you can
- 7:36Speaker 1: just see that other side of him because he's not
- 7:39Speaker 1: a guy who has to be owned all the time
- 7:41Speaker 1: to entertain you. And that allows me to let him
- 7:43Speaker 1: know that he can cross over and be serious, he
- 7:45Speaker 1: can cross over, be focused, he can he the role.
- 7:49Speaker 1: So so when you start seeing him and the script
- 7:51Speaker 1: came to you, what were your thoughts of the opportunity
- 7:54Speaker 1: and what was his thoughts that he shared with you
- 7:57Speaker 1: when he saw he had to do a more serious role.
- 8:01Speaker 1: He was He was serious and he was serious of
- 8:04Speaker 1: happy about it. And for him to be serious, I
- 8:07Speaker 1: mean it was hard on Like when we were recording
- 8:10Speaker 1: of Feminine, you know, some things he wanted to bring
- 8:13Speaker 1: in some comedy, but he had to really structure himself
- 8:17Speaker 1: to just be straight. And um, Terry Vaughan was out
- 8:21Speaker 1: directed ball. When I tell you she was working with it.
- 8:23Speaker 1: She was like, no, we're not doing anything like sitcoms.
- 8:26Speaker 1: It's straight. I don't want no laughter right here. So
- 8:30Speaker 1: it was really challenging, but a great challenge for him.
- 8:34Speaker 1: And even to the extent that him. You know, he
- 8:38Speaker 1: was a drinker in the movie, so he had to
- 8:40Speaker 1: be drunk, so that was something totally different from him.
- 8:43Speaker 1: So it's crazy, it's really crazy, but he did it.
- 8:47Speaker 1: He did doing the Pandemic, which means we're gonna get
- 8:53Speaker 1: to some more stuff you've done because you were busy
- 8:55Speaker 1: doing the pandemic Pandemic It didn't thank the lot and
- 9:00Speaker 1: it really didn't. So how was that done? When you know,
- 9:02Speaker 1: when you when you guys are quarantined to on his
- 9:06Speaker 1: uh compound, how are you able to do these movies
- 9:09Speaker 1: and you feel still comfortable that you could be safe
- 9:12Speaker 1: and your family was safe when you saw him again? Um,
- 9:15Speaker 1: the compound with Tyler Ferry Studios. Yes, we once you
- 9:19Speaker 1: you had the test before you got in. We tested
- 9:22Speaker 1: like two to three times a week, and it was
- 9:26Speaker 1: like once you got on you cannot you couldn't leave.
- 9:29Speaker 1: So we were on campus the whole time that we
- 9:31Speaker 1: were there feelming, which was great. Tyler make sure that
- 9:34Speaker 1: everybody had everything they needed. It was it was incredible.
- 9:38Speaker 1: It was it was expensive for him, but it was
- 9:41Speaker 1: very incredible how he took care of everybody. And safety
- 9:44Speaker 1: was the first thing that they I mean they pumped
- 9:47Speaker 1: it into us with being writing up on each other
- 9:50Speaker 1: and still social distance and all of that. When we
- 9:53Speaker 1: did the movie, we were being tested as well to
- 9:57Speaker 1: three times a week, and it was not so as
- 10:01Speaker 1: confined as the base of Toddler Prayer Studios. But they
- 10:05Speaker 1: kind of told us didn't really want us going out.
- 10:08Speaker 1: It's like people go film tests and be like right
- 10:12Speaker 1: in the hotel pretty much everybody. They had everybody stay
- 10:15Speaker 1: at one hotel. They almost runted that the whole hotel
- 10:17Speaker 1: for everybody, so it would just be us there. But
- 10:20Speaker 1: we tested like two to three times a weekend. They
- 10:23Speaker 1: were really pushing you know, social distance and keeping your
- 10:27Speaker 1: mask on and the actors we had to do these
- 10:31Speaker 1: shields once they put your makeup on, but everybody had
- 10:34Speaker 1: to be masked up, like hair makeup has to have
- 10:36Speaker 1: on two masks, like a mask and a shield. So
- 10:39Speaker 1: they were being everybody was being very careful. We've been
- 10:42Speaker 1: really blessed. We've been really blessed. It's finally here, the
- 10:45Speaker 1: season of celebration. And no matter how you celebrate with
- 10:48Speaker 1: family and friends, whether you're preparing for rays magos or
- 10:52Speaker 1: karamel lighting the Manura, are going to midnight mass, Coos

- 11:47Speaker 1: but I'm filling in because there's a lot more to report,
- 11:50Speaker 1: like when they're parched or windy conditions out there. You've
- 11:53Speaker 1: gotta be extra careful with things like burning yard wage.

- 12:16Speaker 1: and see a tree, they see the wrinkled face of
- 12:19Speaker 1: a wizard with arms outstretched to the sky. They see
- 12:22Speaker 1: treasure and pebbles, they see a windy path that could
- 12:26Speaker 1: lead to adventure, and they see you. They're fearless. Guide.

- 12:39Speaker 1: So now that's we got the two movies. We got
- 12:41Speaker 1: two Soul Santa out the Way, We got the Tyler
- 12:44Speaker 1: Peer of Badia film out the Way. Then she shot
- 12:47Speaker 1: two seasons. I'll tell my sheep being tam oh Man
- 12:50Speaker 1: shot two season of Tyler Peers Assistant Living. Whoa girl? Okay? Uh?
- 12:57Speaker 1: How you interview with me? Why you ain't tied? I
- 13:01Speaker 1: was tired. I took I took a few breaks breaks,
- 13:07Speaker 1: but and then to working on the music. But you
- 13:11Speaker 1: know what, you have to kind of work while it's day.
- 13:13Speaker 1: You have to just keep going why you can because
- 13:16Speaker 1: you don't know what we do, You don't know what's
- 13:18Speaker 1: gonna happen, So you kind of have to work when
- 13:21Speaker 1: it's time to work. And I think a lot of
- 13:23Speaker 1: people don't play, then you play, a lot of people
- 13:25Speaker 1: don't do that. They put restrictions on what they can do.
- 13:29Speaker 1: I do say, they'll say something like I do it later,
- 13:31Speaker 1: or that opportunity they're gonna come back around, and it's
- 13:33Speaker 1: not always true. That's not it's not and so that
- 13:37Speaker 1: it's not true that it's gonna come back, they may
- 13:39Speaker 1: go get somebody else. And that I love about you
- 13:43Speaker 1: because I always talk about you being a businesswoman. Was
- 13:45Speaker 1: the launch of your clothing line, the Tambla Man Collection,
- 13:48Speaker 1: because to me, you know, because you know, I I
- 13:52Speaker 1: love seeing talent, I love seeing gifted people, but some
- 13:55Speaker 1: people just can see you in that lane and think
- 13:57Speaker 1: that's all you can do, And that's all I always
- 13:59Speaker 1: champion of you every time I talk to you. We
- 14:02Speaker 1: talked business to talk about that whole the Tamla Man Collection.
- 14:06Speaker 1: How did it get started and what motivated you to
- 14:09Speaker 1: do it? What motivated me to do it was trying
- 14:13Speaker 1: to go find some nice things for plus size because
- 14:18Speaker 1: you know, a lot of times when it comes to
- 14:20Speaker 1: our fabrice, you know, they have some stuff that look
- 14:22Speaker 1: like table cloths, and we don't want to look like
- 14:24Speaker 1: a table cloth. Don't know, we may be thick. You
- 14:27Speaker 1: don't wanna look like we want to look cute too,
- 14:29Speaker 1: So I was really tuned in on like the plus
- 14:33Speaker 1: size thick ladies. I don't you know, I hate. I
- 14:35Speaker 1: don't even like the word plus size. I say thick,
- 14:38Speaker 1: you know, nice with our curves everywhere. But whoever we
- 14:40Speaker 1: got wherever your curves are, I like that, that's we're thick.
- 14:44Speaker 1: So size is two up thirty two. It was for
- 14:46Speaker 1: your everyday woman. Something nice and comfortable is what we
- 14:49Speaker 1: were aiming for. And the quality it was all. It's
- 14:52Speaker 1: all about Templeman collection with the quality of work and
- 14:56Speaker 1: how well it's put together. So when I'm talking to
- 14:59Speaker 1: my of my young managers, which is my daughter law
- 15:03Speaker 1: that runs it and the other lady that helps us
- 15:05Speaker 1: with distribution, I'm all about cushing the fabrics that we choose.
- 15:09Speaker 1: My daughter helps, my daughter and my daughter and we
- 15:12Speaker 1: all three of us and they're younger, so we're trying
- 15:14Speaker 1: to help for my age group and the younger age
- 15:18Speaker 1: group so we can have something for everybody. So we
- 15:21Speaker 1: try to, you know, dress up. I want to be cute,
- 15:25Speaker 1: comfortable where it's you can do do your errands, actually
- 15:31Speaker 1: work out in it. Those comfortable clothes you just throw
- 15:34Speaker 1: on and throw and go and get worried about ironing
- 15:36Speaker 1: it things like that. That's how that came about. It's
- 15:39Speaker 1: something comfortable and cute for our thick legs. So till
- 15:44Speaker 1: David to do the same thing for me, because when
- 15:47Speaker 1: I get out of these suits, I just want some
- 15:49Speaker 1: comfortable stuff that I can just go out in the yard,
- 15:52Speaker 1: or I can just go to the store and go
- 15:54Speaker 1: to home deep or go to the Krogers or whatever.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Comfortable but look good though I still I have my
- 15:59Speaker 1: little style on me, you know, now my flavor. That's
- 16:01Speaker 1: what you're saying. Your clothing line is you can look comfortable,
- 16:05Speaker 1: you can feel comfortable, but you still look good and cute.
- 16:09Speaker 1: The Channel collection, that's what we talked about. Now that
- 16:12Speaker 1: now this leads to the song. He did it for me.
- 16:15Speaker 1: Now when I when I heard that title, he did
- 16:17Speaker 1: it for me. That that that resonated with me because
- 16:21Speaker 1: I'm not a person that I'm not I'm telling the
- 16:23Speaker 1: straight up for I'm not the Church Gore. I'm not
- 16:25Speaker 1: a person can recite quotes from the Bible. You know,
- 16:29Speaker 1: I'm not gonna even say that, but that my faith.
- 16:32Speaker 1: You cannot question that because I am strong in my faith.
- 16:35Speaker 1: I'm strong in my belief that I'm blessed to be here.
- 16:38Speaker 1: I wake up because of the mercy of God. My
- 16:42Speaker 1: family is here because of the blessings that He had
- 16:45Speaker 1: provide for me to be able to take care of them,
- 16:47Speaker 1: and the fact that I come home every day. It's
- 16:49Speaker 1: tied to his blessings. So when I hear he did
- 16:51Speaker 1: it from me, what did it resonate to you? Because
- 16:55Speaker 1: you created the song, you've seen the song he did
- 16:58Speaker 1: it for me comes from a place I had did this.
- 17:02Speaker 1: I had did um an interview and then I heard
- 17:06Speaker 1: I got back of someone saying, you know that I'm
- 17:11Speaker 1: doing a lot of things and a lot of doors
- 17:12Speaker 1: are open it for me, and why is she getting
- 17:15Speaker 1: all these things? And it really hurt me to the core,
- 17:20Speaker 1: honestly where it brought me to tears where I'm not
- 17:23Speaker 1: out here, no one has handing me anything. We're working for.
- 17:27Speaker 1: We've worked for everything that we have, and I just
- 17:32Speaker 1: I was talking to the producer, which was Phil Briant
- 17:35Speaker 1: at the time, and I was like, man, this don't
- 17:38Speaker 1: come easy, the gifts that we have, and I just
- 17:42Speaker 1: didn't understand why the words were being saying, why is
- 17:45Speaker 1: everything coming to her? Why? Like it's I guess it
- 17:48Speaker 1: looks easy, but it's not easy for me, and I
- 17:52Speaker 1: just don't. I just really I just really didn't understand, honestly.
- 17:58Speaker 1: So I was like, it was God did this for me.
- 18:01Speaker 1: I didn't do it for myself. It was a favor
- 18:03Speaker 1: that He's placed upon my life with the work that
- 18:06Speaker 1: I've put in, and that's how he did it for me.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Came about that. It's no goodness of my own, but
- 18:13Speaker 1: the Lord saw fit to bless me. You know. The thing,
- 18:18Speaker 1: The interesting thing about it is that I look at
- 18:21Speaker 1: I look at my life, you know, and and I
- 18:22Speaker 1: look at your life too, because you know, we've known
- 18:24Speaker 1: each other a long time. And when when you're young,
- 18:28Speaker 1: you know, when you're young, you're twenties, and third, you
- 18:29Speaker 1: don't see forties and fifties. You just don't see it.
- 18:32Speaker 1: And then and then I look at young people being
- 18:35Speaker 1: successful when their twenties and thirties, and I often think,
- 18:39Speaker 1: do they understand how much it takes to get to
- 18:42Speaker 1: the forties and fifties with that same level of success?
- 18:45Speaker 1: And then I realized, I'm blessed. I'm blessed because I
- 18:48Speaker 1: work hard, but I blessed because the opportunity is presented
- 18:51Speaker 1: to me. And I just I guess what I'm just
- 18:53Speaker 1: trying to say to you is that he did it
- 18:56Speaker 1: for me. Really, it's a testimony to that you understood
- 18:59Speaker 1: that twenty he did it for you, thirty he did
- 19:01Speaker 1: it for you. In your forties and older, he did
- 19:03Speaker 1: it for you. So a lot of people don't understand
- 19:06Speaker 1: that they get lost because they only live in for
- 19:08Speaker 1: the moment. Because I tell people I'm gonna live as
- 19:12Speaker 1: long as I don't know what retirement means. I don't
- 19:15Speaker 1: know how you're supposed to walk in fifty or sixty
- 19:17Speaker 1: or seventy. But Rus Shaw gonna walk over Shan Shan.
- 19:21Speaker 1: And I think that when I hear this hit and
- 19:23Speaker 1: hear the title, he did it for me, that's all
- 19:25Speaker 1: you're saying. Don't criticize me for what I'm achieving, because
- 19:29Speaker 1: I'm not trying to take credit for what I'm achieving
- 19:31Speaker 1: exactly exactly. That's so true. That's true. And and and
- 19:35Speaker 1: I think sometimes people feel like, you know, give me
- 19:39Speaker 1: a shot, but you know it once up all the
- 19:41Speaker 1: time in my life, I can't say I would be
- 19:43Speaker 1: looking at like, Lord, I'm not being blessed. But once
- 19:46Speaker 1: I honestly start putting the work in and start believing
- 19:50Speaker 1: what I prayed for, that's when the Lord started moving
- 19:53Speaker 1: in my behalf, because my faith started standing on its
- 19:57Speaker 1: own to trust God to be God, and he started
- 20:01Speaker 1: doing He started doing it for me right now. You
- 20:03Speaker 1: know when I when we think about your life, you know,
- 20:06Speaker 1: my my I got on the scale of the day.
- 20:08Speaker 1: I just recently had a gall bladder surgery, you know,
- 20:13Speaker 1: like three weeks ago, and uh, what you're doing that
- 20:16Speaker 1: I'm telling something. I enjoyed my life. Okay, God told
- 20:19Speaker 1: me I get up. I'm just telling you tire, telling me,
- 20:21Speaker 1: don't be criticizing me for sitting up your interviewing you. Okay,
- 20:25Speaker 1: I keep telling you. God woke me up, saying okay,
- 20:27Speaker 1: it's good. I'm not pushing myself. I ain't out there
- 20:30Speaker 1: running on marathon. I'm not on I'm not on a
- 20:33Speaker 1: balance being Okay, I'm not doing none of that. I'm
- 20:36Speaker 1: just getting up, putting on a nice suit, sitting in
- 20:38Speaker 1: the acrotis in the room interviewing a friend. Okay, you
- 20:41Speaker 1: can stop stop. Okay. So I had gone bladder surgery,
- 20:45Speaker 1: and then and just and so my stupid behind I'm
- 20:48Speaker 1: taking uh a concessor I'm talking Tom's I'm thinking it's
- 20:52Speaker 1: a stomachache. You know what I'm saying, because that's what
- 20:54Speaker 1: we do. You know, we don't realize our bodies talking
- 20:57Speaker 1: to us. We try to ignore and try to Many
- 21:00Speaker 1: have certain needs. So recently in your life, this journey
- 21:03Speaker 1: we're talking to that led you to the album that
- 21:05Speaker 1: we're gonna hear that overcome or you had double knee schurch,
- 21:08Speaker 1: you have physical therapy or on wellness journey. Talk about
- 21:11Speaker 1: that because I always check you on the show. I
- 21:13Speaker 1: try to present a life that I'm not perfect. I
- 21:16Speaker 1: try to present a life that I make mistakes and
- 21:18Speaker 1: sometimes I don't understand because people look at me like
- 21:20Speaker 1: I know at all, I'm successful. I don't have any problems.
- 21:24Speaker 1: You know, I don't have any money issues. I do
- 21:25Speaker 1: have money issues every day. And so you have money, surgery,
- 21:29Speaker 1: your physical Talk about that whole journey of wellness for
- 21:32Speaker 1: you that makes you comfortable to talk about it today. Okay, Well,
- 21:36Speaker 1: that's how Overcoming came about. The last five or six years,
- 21:40Speaker 1: I was actually working in pain, dancing around doing filming,
- 21:46Speaker 1: all of these things were happening, and I will be
- 21:49Speaker 1: in so much pain, and you know, once but while
- 21:52Speaker 1: I was working, it's like it didn't bother me. But
- 21:55Speaker 1: once I came off stage or sit down, my knees
- 21:58Speaker 1: will be hurting me so bad. And after going through
- 22:02Speaker 1: the surgery, not knowing how I was gonna if everything
- 22:05Speaker 1: was gonna work properly, you know, if my body was
- 22:08Speaker 1: gonna just to this material being in my body, and
- 22:11Speaker 1: I'm like, Lord, you know I need you to help
- 22:13Speaker 1: me overcome this. And then with the wellness thing again,
- 22:19Speaker 1: it's like I didn't want to be a liability of
- 22:20Speaker 1: my family. So it's like you gotta do something different
- 22:23Speaker 1: if you want some different results. So it's I'm still
- 22:27Speaker 1: That's why I took the album the name Overcoming, because
- 22:30Speaker 1: it's a day by day walk that by faith, I'm
- 22:33Speaker 1: gonna overcome. I'm overcoming. I've lost some weight, but it's
- 22:36Speaker 1: I still got goals that I want to reach. I
- 22:38Speaker 1: want to complete and finish that that I started. And
- 22:42Speaker 1: with the with the knees and everything, I went through therapy,
- 22:46Speaker 1: like you said, and it's like every day, every day,
- 22:49Speaker 1: you know, it's getting better and better. It's it's been
- 22:51Speaker 1: two years July, so it's like I'm getting better and better,
- 22:55Speaker 1: and I just want to be like that. Even in
- 22:57Speaker 1: my life, I just want to get better. I don't
- 22:59Speaker 1: want to be even though I'm fifty, in my fifties,
- 23:02Speaker 1: I still want to be able to learn from somebody.
- 23:04Speaker 1: I can learn from a young person or even the
- 23:06Speaker 1: older person. I'm open to receive it. If it's gonna
- 23:09Speaker 1: make me better, I'm willing to do that. So that's
- 23:12Speaker 1: how I'm working at being an overcome up every day,
- 23:16Speaker 1: and I'm encouraging those who are watching it and listening
- 23:19Speaker 1: that we all can overcome and we can conquer. Come
- 23:23Speaker 1: on that special that the two albums. Two songs on
- 23:27Speaker 1: the album Overcoming and conquer. Did you just slip that
- 23:30Speaker 1: in so smooth? That's I'm dealing with a pro You
- 23:33Speaker 1: know you can overcome it? And that's not The words
- 23:40Speaker 1: started with completion. And when I looked the word up
- 23:43Speaker 1: finishes in it so a lot. And I realized a
- 23:46Speaker 1: lot of things we've started in our lives, and I
- 23:48Speaker 1: even in my own life, I took it personal. All
- 23:51Speaker 1: these songs, I took it personally. I've started things that
- 23:55Speaker 1: you know, you start cleaning up in the room and
- 23:57Speaker 1: so you know, you know, started another room and you
- 23:59Speaker 1: haven't even finished complete that tast So my thing is
- 24:02Speaker 1: the safe focus and finish this album. We're started with
- 24:06Speaker 1: finish work, the work that God has begun on us.
- 24:09Speaker 1: We're gonna finish and with his help, we're gonna complete it.
- 24:12Speaker 1: And then the album. The last song on the album
- 24:15Speaker 1: is called finish that we wouldn't finish, and we're gonna finish. Well.

- 25:43Speaker 1: I Discover the Forest dot org, brought to you by
- 25:46Speaker 1: the United States Forest Service and the ad Council. With
- 25:50Speaker 1: the beauty of this that you've always had people write
- 25:53Speaker 1: songs for you all, we never participating in that side
- 25:56Speaker 1: of it. Talk about that because you know it's it's
- 26:00Speaker 1: my confidence too. It's about well, what you right makes sense?
- 26:03Speaker 1: Well if you chold somebody you wrote this with they
- 26:06Speaker 1: what they look at you and just pacify you. But
- 26:09Speaker 1: and then see that's good you you you well you're
- 26:14Speaker 1: known it to do what you do because those are
- 26:17Speaker 1: my exact out as a as a song, right, it's
- 26:20Speaker 1: this gonna make sense? I don't know, and I mean
- 26:23Speaker 1: me and my daughter was sitting with the producer and
- 26:27Speaker 1: he really helped me on. He did it for me.
- 26:30Speaker 1: He helped me on, help me to really realize that
- 26:34Speaker 1: my words and even with Travis Green, he wrote Finished.
- 26:37Speaker 1: I sit and talk to him for about about an
- 26:39Speaker 1: hour of what I wanted to talk about it. He
- 26:42Speaker 1: took all my words and put them into Finished and
- 26:46Speaker 1: the same thing that he did it for me with
- 26:49Speaker 1: feel and all of us just working together. It's like
- 26:54Speaker 1: he helped my confidence come alive, you know, like dealing
- 26:57Speaker 1: with sometimes you know, it takes you switching up and
- 26:59Speaker 1: doing some with somebody else to see to stir up
- 27:03Speaker 1: the gift in you, you know. And that's what's happened
- 27:07Speaker 1: on this album, that I realized that my words can
- 27:10Speaker 1: be good, and that that they are important, and that
- 27:13Speaker 1: they're not too small, that they can be that they
- 27:16Speaker 1: can be used. Absolutely. You know that when she said phil,
- 27:18Speaker 1: she's talking about Philip Bryant and my boy are Kurt
- 27:21Speaker 1: Franklin knows on the al Travis Green, who I love.
- 27:24Speaker 1: I loved it. I gotta get him back on the
- 27:26Speaker 1: show and then you have my boy. I called him
- 27:28Speaker 1: the Church Outlaw Todd. The lady tell him Outlaw, that
- 27:38Speaker 1: is little for him. How do you get the church
- 27:40Speaker 1: outlaw all your album? Church girl? Huh? Overcome cons He
- 27:46Speaker 1: did it for me. I called Ted and I said, Todd,
- 27:51Speaker 1: I wanted to talk about finishing. I said, I wanted
- 27:54Speaker 1: to talk about the work that we've begun and the
- 27:56Speaker 1: Lord to finish. And when I tell you, he kind
- 27:59Speaker 1: of me back, and I was it was a scratch
- 28:02Speaker 1: of him playing on the piano, and I said, man,
- 28:06Speaker 1: I said, this is it. But we wound up going
- 28:09Speaker 1: to Chicago with his band and singers and recording it
- 28:13Speaker 1: live with his producer, and man, I tell you, it
- 28:22Speaker 1: was so it was like a heavenly experience. And he
- 28:26Speaker 1: was in a in a sanctu where with just us
- 28:29Speaker 1: and just a very few people that work at the church.
- 28:32Speaker 1: But when I tell you, it was like the Lord
- 28:34Speaker 1: met us there. And I'm I'm so excited because it's
- 28:38Speaker 1: like another side of me that no one's seen or
- 28:41Speaker 1: heard on finished work. And I'm just I'm just geet
- 28:46Speaker 1: and nervous forever. You know, of course, when you come
- 28:48Speaker 1: with new music, you don't know what people gonna receive
- 28:50Speaker 1: and all that. But I just believe in my heart
- 28:53Speaker 1: that that God has given me it's gonna really be
- 28:56Speaker 1: able to bless the people. And that's my goal is
- 28:58Speaker 1: to bring hope. It's a ration and let people know
- 29:02Speaker 1: that the mercies of God still exist on this earth
- 29:05Speaker 1: and everybody is not out to get us, and that
- 29:07Speaker 1: we can accomplish those things that God has begun on us.
- 29:11Speaker 1: He's a healer that he can heal us of all
- 29:13Speaker 1: manner of diseases that's going on in the world. We
- 29:16Speaker 1: don't have to walk in fear. If we do, we
- 29:18Speaker 1: need to do and do what we're supposed to do.
- 29:21Speaker 1: We're gonna work at it. We're gonna be fun Tamla.
- 29:23Speaker 1: You know I I Rita Franklin, one of our time favorites,
- 29:26Speaker 1: and when she did the amazing Grace and i'mna be
- 29:30Speaker 1: honest with you. Um, every time I see you, I
- 29:34Speaker 1: see I see that moment. There's gonna be a moment
- 29:38Speaker 1: when you're gonna just settle into understanding all your blessings.
- 29:41Speaker 1: Like that's why this album is special. Overcome or because
- 29:43Speaker 1: you you finally step past the things that said my
- 29:46Speaker 1: words have value, you know you can write it down
- 29:50Speaker 1: and it can mean something to somebody else because it
- 29:52Speaker 1: means something to meet next to that journey you went
- 29:56Speaker 1: up to Chicago and get with Tom. The next time,
- 30:00Speaker 1: all y'all gonna be in the room, Travis Green gonna
- 30:02Speaker 1: be in the room with you, Kurt Franklin gonna be
- 30:04Speaker 1: in the room, Philip Bryan gonna, kimbro gonna be in
- 30:06Speaker 1: the room with you. And it's gonna be about you
- 30:09Speaker 1: telling everybody you know about the King, about he did
- 30:15Speaker 1: it for me, talk about the Conqueror, talking about all
- 30:18Speaker 1: these journeys that means something. And I just want to
- 30:21Speaker 1: let you know this, this album is a blessing for
- 30:24Speaker 1: you because finally, I think that's the final step. Because
- 30:29Speaker 1: you know, every time I interview you, I'm always I
- 30:31Speaker 1: love David, I'm always stepping into you because I know
- 30:34Speaker 1: you a person, had all these great talents, you kind
- 30:36Speaker 1: of background in a little bit, and David has pushed
- 30:39Speaker 1: you out there and finally you fill the annointment of
- 30:43Speaker 1: who and what you can be. I just I'm just
- 30:45Speaker 1: so happy for you. I am so happy for you.
- 30:47Speaker 1: Thank you so much. You look you bring it to me.
- 30:54Speaker 1: You know, I know then and then you know, every
- 30:56Speaker 1: time I come on this shock, I'll talk about the
- 30:58Speaker 1: family because you mentioned your daughter earlier, and you know,
- 31:01Speaker 1: y'all y'all went out on tour a couple of years
- 31:03Speaker 1: before the pandemic, which all in the country doing there
- 31:06Speaker 1: the telling man entertainment to him talk about the family
- 31:10Speaker 1: all coming together, how they how they how they went
- 31:13Speaker 1: through the pandemic and all that good stuff. Just just
- 31:15Speaker 1: talk about the journey that you and your husband are
- 31:17Speaker 1: putting together in the future that you're gonna have for us,
- 31:19Speaker 1: because we already know you got movies coming out, TV
- 31:21Speaker 1: shows coming out, Alvin Overcoma coming out, what's coming out
- 31:25Speaker 1: with you in the hood. But I gotta go back
- 31:26Speaker 1: to the family or not. And my daughter till the
- 31:29Speaker 1: youngest one vocal produced me in the album. She had
- 31:33Speaker 1: her hand and everything. Uh and her her boyfriend name
- 31:38Speaker 1: is Justin Pearson. They're actually sitting right here with me
- 31:40Speaker 1: right now, and it's amazing how they were able to help.
- 31:45Speaker 1: They took a relief off of David SR. And they
- 31:50Speaker 1: were they stepped into the role, and I mean they
- 31:52Speaker 1: really stepped into the role to help me with this thing.
- 31:55Speaker 1: And it's been incredible. Just to see her develop and
- 32:00Speaker 1: and for her skills to come out, and for all
- 32:03Speaker 1: of us to see that this hidden and fear that
- 32:07Speaker 1: she's had, it's like finally she's stepping into herself and
- 32:11Speaker 1: into her own And you know, even like everybody, you know,
- 32:15Speaker 1: with my other daughter that works in the in the
- 32:17Speaker 1: company Porsche and then David Jr. Everybody is finding their
- 32:21Speaker 1: rightful place, which is causing the company to grow. And
- 32:26Speaker 1: you know, and I have to pray hard because once
- 32:29Speaker 1: everything gets really smooth, the enemy tries to show his
- 32:31Speaker 1: head and and it's like, of course to try to
- 32:34Speaker 1: bring discord and make try to mess things up. But
- 32:38Speaker 1: he's doing his job. That's why I have to stay
- 32:39Speaker 1: on my job praying. And we have to stay on
- 32:42Speaker 1: my job in what we need to be doing and
- 32:45Speaker 1: stand in our lane to make this thing brow because
- 32:48Speaker 1: even as individuals, they have great talents of their own
- 32:52Speaker 1: that I really appreciate and thank God for the Lord
- 32:55Speaker 1: stirring up. But I always tell them, you gotta keep
- 32:58Speaker 1: God at your base if you want to be bled.
- 33:00Speaker 1: This is how your mom and dad has been blessed.
- 33:02Speaker 1: It's been the favor of God. It's been God keeping
- 33:05Speaker 1: his hand on our lives. I can't take no credit
- 33:08Speaker 1: for none of it. It's all been God using us
- 33:11Speaker 1: and directing us. As you said, you know, um, we
- 33:15Speaker 1: laugh with her. We've seen her grow as a young lady,
- 33:19Speaker 1: as a as a wife, as a mom, and but
- 33:22Speaker 1: her new CD an Overcoming. Tamla Man has been more
- 33:26Speaker 1: involved than ever in this songwriting, lending her input to
- 33:30Speaker 1: nearly every track. Never has she been more creative with
- 33:33Speaker 1: her vision, been more powerful, or heart more open than
- 33:36Speaker 1: this collection upon your songs the past few years. You've
- 33:39Speaker 1: seen the physical setbacks, you've seen overcoming. You've seen her
- 33:42Speaker 1: smile when she had paint and all paint and her body.
- 33:45Speaker 1: But what never stopped me is telling you I love you,
- 33:48Speaker 1: telling you I love your husband, And thank you for
- 33:51Speaker 1: coming on money making conversations again. Thank you so much,
- 33:55Speaker 1: Thank you. This has been a joy today. You got
- 33:58Speaker 1: you got me hyped up. Well. I hope whoever's after
- 34:01Speaker 1: you today is gonna be as hype. I know that
- 34:03Speaker 1: not because you you You got your own, You got
- 34:08Speaker 1: your own VanIn you're in the lane out by yourself.
- 34:11Speaker 1: Thank you so much for shock as as usual, You're
- 34:14Speaker 1: a blessing to me and You're a blessing to our community.
- 34:17Speaker 1: Thank you for sharing and bringing those some good information.
- 34:20Speaker 1: Thank you so much. Cool. If you want to hear
