- 3:47Speaker 1: it is the way to go. I've been in that
- 3:49Speaker 1: office before. Great place to be and as the owner
- 3:52Speaker 1: of New York City Cosmetic and General Dentistry located in
- 3:55Speaker 1: the heart of fifty seven Street, Billionaires role it on
- 4:00Speaker 1: that street. There's a Starbucks right there on the corner.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Went in there, got me my little lemon pound cake,
- 4:06Speaker 1: little slice I get, got me a little water to go,
- 4:09Speaker 1: you know, kind of like mixing. My little died, acted
- 4:12Speaker 1: like I'm healthy, have my little little pound cake. And
- 4:15Speaker 1: then I had my little water so I didn't overdo myself.
- 4:18Speaker 1: So I know where that's at. And then finally Stephanie Humphrey,

- 5:09Speaker 1: I'm a busy guy this week. I'm my schedule. I
- 5:11Speaker 1: mean Houston today. Tomorrow, I get on the plane to
- 5:15Speaker 1: Los Angeles, have some meetings in Los Angeles on Tuesday.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Then on Wednesday. On Wednesday night, I'll hop on the
- 5:21Speaker 1: Red Eye and go to Atlanta, Georgia. In Atlanta, Georgia,
- 5:25Speaker 1: I have a big event of done with Meryl Lynch
- 5:28Speaker 1: on Thursday night. And then on Friday morning, I'll hop
- 5:31Speaker 1: back on a plane. I'll pop back on the plane
- 5:34Speaker 1: and I will come to Atlanta to Houston, Texas to
- 5:38Speaker 1: hoped Off to host Lift Off Houston competition. Now, this
- 5:41Speaker 1: competition was actually supposed to happen on November three, that's
- 5:45Speaker 1: a Friday. Now, if anybody has been following Houston the
- 5:50Speaker 1: last couple of Fridays, you all should know that the
- 5:55Speaker 1: Houston Astros or World Champions now they was holding this
- 6:01Speaker 1: event downtown. So they knew to try to hold this
- 6:05Speaker 1: event downtown was gonna be utter cad chaos. Plus they
- 6:09Speaker 1: knew they're gonna be celebrate too, so they counseled the
- 6:12Speaker 1: event on November three and moved it to November seventeen.
- 6:16Speaker 1: They asked me, re shot, We're gonna moved to date
- 6:20Speaker 1: because the Houston nastrol is just warm. We gotta do
- 6:22Speaker 1: a big parade in downtown Houston. Can you change the date?
- 6:26Speaker 1: Will you be willing to consider a new date? I said,
- 6:29Speaker 1: come on that. I'm happy to astros Wong. So this Friday,
- 6:34Speaker 1: I'll be back in Houston hosting the Liftoff Houston Competition
- 6:42Speaker 1: at the Julia Idison Building in downtown Houston. Now Lift
- 6:46Speaker 1: Off Houston, the City of Houston's annual Business Plan competition,
- 6:50Speaker 1: is an entrepreneur initiative aim to empower Houstonians with business literacy, education,
- 6:56Speaker 1: and mentorship to start their own business while contributing to
- 6:59Speaker 1: the local growth and sustainability of the Houston economy. This year,
- 7:03Speaker 1: there will be three award categories, and each category you
- 7:07Speaker 1: can win ten thousand dollars. So they can say all
- 7:09Speaker 1: those fancy words they want, but the bottom line this
- 7:12Speaker 1: is about winning money. In each category you can win
- 7:15Speaker 1: ten thousand dollars with a total person of thirty thousand
- 7:19Speaker 1: if you're fortunate to win all three categories. But right
- 7:22Speaker 1: now we're just talking about each category. The first category
- 7:25Speaker 1: would be product, the second category will be service, and
- 7:28Speaker 1: the third category will be innovation. Now you can't enter now,
- 7:34Speaker 1: but I'm sure they held this contest last year. This
- 7:37Speaker 1: competition last year is kind of like a Shark Tank
- 7:39Speaker 1: Shark Tank promotion. It is sponsored by Capital One Bank,
- 7:43Speaker 1: and so it's really a cool thing to do, is
- 7:46Speaker 1: our own version of Shark Tank. I'll be hosting, There'll
- 7:49Speaker 1: be three of the judges. That's gonna be a live audience,
- 7:52Speaker 1: so please bring your personality people. And then there is
- 7:56Speaker 1: gonna be one prize where you can win based on
- 7:58Speaker 1: audience reaction. So if you bring if the contestants bring
- 8:03Speaker 1: a lot of people and they make noise, and it's
- 8:05Speaker 1: kind of like Apolo style where I'll be able to
- 8:08Speaker 1: say you have the most noise, You're gonna win this prize.
- 8:11Speaker 1: That has nothing to do with the three prizes, which
- 8:14Speaker 1: are the Product, Service and Innovation prizes where you win
- 8:17Speaker 1: ten thousand dollars each. This is another cooler prize just
- 8:20Speaker 1: to encourage people to bring people to the show that
- 8:23Speaker 1: we're hosting it. We're trying to build up some momentum
- 8:25Speaker 1: with this. That's why I'm involved because of the fact
- 8:28Speaker 1: that it involved small businesses and if anybody has has
- 8:32Speaker 1: has called onto my matra. The last uh this summer,
- 8:36Speaker 1: I've been all about the small businesses. I've been all
- 8:38Speaker 1: about when the when the small businesses were hit by
- 8:41Speaker 1: Hurricane Harvey. I got withdrawn love of the Texas Black
- 8:45Speaker 1: Expo and we set up a campaign to raise funds
- 8:49Speaker 1: to assist small businesses that were damaged by Hurricane Harvey.
- 8:53Speaker 1: And we were giving out one thousand dollars stipends to
- 8:57Speaker 1: each business who registered on the Texas Black Expo site.
- 9:01Speaker 1: So this is my mantra anything that has to do
- 9:04Speaker 1: with small businesses because small business employ people, small businesses
- 9:09Speaker 1: pay taxes. So that's why it's important that small businesses survived.
- 9:14Speaker 1: And that's what the LIFTOFF Houston is. Competition is all
- 9:16Speaker 1: about encouraging people to reach out because a lot of
- 9:19Speaker 1: people just start business with a with a bucket and
- 9:22Speaker 1: a bad thought. You know what I'm saying. I like
- 9:24Speaker 1: my idea, just just go out there. They don't have
- 9:27Speaker 1: no business plan. That's the bad thought part of it.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Just go out there. I want to start a car wash.
- 9:34Speaker 1: I want to I want to start saying burgers, okay,
- 9:37Speaker 1: all right, what's your business plan? What happens if the
- 9:39Speaker 1: burgers don't take off? What happened the only people that
- 9:41Speaker 1: like your burgers? Other people in your house? What if
- 9:44Speaker 1: you decided to pick a corner they don't know cars
- 9:47Speaker 1: really come down that need their cars washed, or you
- 9:50Speaker 1: don't or you don't have a uniform, or you look,
- 9:52Speaker 1: you look about this dirty as the cars you're gonna wash.
- 9:55Speaker 1: How about that that happens all the time because you
- 9:58Speaker 1: hadn't figured out You don't want to calm your hair,
- 10:00Speaker 1: I don't need to dress up. I'm washing calls. Guess what.
- 10:04Speaker 1: People want you to look a certain way. If you
- 10:06Speaker 1: don't look a certain way, guess what, they're not gonna
- 10:09Speaker 1: give you your money. Now, that's what Lift Off Houston
- 10:12Speaker 1: is all about. That's what my passion for small business
- 10:14Speaker 1: is all about. I'm here to encourage people to be
- 10:18Speaker 1: better than what they think they can be and to
- 10:21Speaker 1: plan to be greater than they want to be. Now,
- 10:24Speaker 1: with that being said, I want to give a couple
- 10:26Speaker 1: of shout outs to a couple of businesses. I saw
- 10:29Speaker 1: this last week small business shoutouts this. I want to
- 10:32Speaker 1: go this shout out to. Last year's lift Off competition
- 10:34Speaker 1: winner was Lindsay Brantley. She came on the show and
- 10:38Speaker 1: r J bought some of her scam care product for bumps.
- 10:43Speaker 1: She came on the show. Now now Lindsay has now
- 10:46Speaker 1: opened a new store front. It's it's called Make Her
- 10:50Speaker 1: Boutique as make M a k E in parentheses. Her
- 10:53Speaker 1: boutique is at twelve one fan In Street in Houston, Texas,
- 10:57Speaker 1: Sweet one three seven Again May her Boutique twelve oh
- 11:02Speaker 1: one Fannon Street right here in Houston, Texas, Sweet one
- 11:06Speaker 1: three seven. She's open Monday through Saturday, ten am two

- 11:13Speaker 1: You're on your own, brother Sunday. She there can let
- 11:16Speaker 1: you open a lot of places opening up on Sunday.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Not at the Girl's shop lend Look here, I got
- 11:21Speaker 1: a family, you know, I got to save time, and
- 11:25Speaker 1: I always gotta go throw a love back up in Brooklyn,
- 11:27Speaker 1: New York. Brooklyn, New York, My boy Todd Jones, the
- 11:31Speaker 1: Donutologists and the owner they're very tasty and successful. Cousins
- 11:35Speaker 1: Doesn't Donuts in Brooklyn, New York. I have to give
- 11:38Speaker 1: a repeat shout out because he's opening his second location
- 11:42Speaker 1: in Brooklyn to cousin does Todd Jones, and I hope
- 11:46Speaker 1: you listen to me, Todd, I love your dude, and
- 11:49Speaker 1: I got so. That means that I have to come
- 11:50Speaker 1: back up to Brooklyn and surprise you at your new location,
- 11:54Speaker 1: which I don't mind because the doughnuts were the mini
- 11:57Speaker 1: donors were fantastic. Now finally about to close out again.
- 12:01Speaker 1: On the show Today, My Man Here Hopper, Then you
- 12:05Speaker 1: Know How It Really Happened, which is on hl N,
- 12:07Speaker 1: those true crime DOCTU series, and he also starts a
- 12:11Speaker 1: new hit show, The Good Doctor Brothers are always working.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Also on the show that Honey Jones uh, former UM
- 12:17Speaker 1: linebacker for NFL linebacker who's now the host of Travel
- 12:21Speaker 1: Channel Serious because you know he's in shape smart than
- 12:24Speaker 1: in shape. I'm kind of mad at him. How could
- 12:26Speaker 1: be smart than in shape? Then Dr Katrice Austin brand
- 12:30Speaker 1: spokesman for co Gate Total, which means her teeth gotta
- 12:33Speaker 1: be right because Cob is not gonna sponsor nobody. You know,
- 12:36Speaker 1: they teeth crooked cricket or yellow. That's that's two ms
- 12:43Speaker 1: cricketer or yell cricket of yellow don't ever get to
- 12:46Speaker 1: paced sponsorship. So you know her teeth look good. And
- 12:48Speaker 1: then my girl, the friend of the the neighborhood tech life expert.
- 12:51Speaker 1: You know my teaser with that little Spider Man reference
- 12:54Speaker 1: friendly neighborhood. Come on, now, you know I'm a I'm
- 12:57Speaker 1: a I'm a spider Man food, so I know where
- 13:00Speaker 1: she got that from. It's definitely hard. Come up next,
- 13:03Speaker 1: my man. We'll be on the call here, Harper, We'll
- 13:09Speaker 1: be right back. More money making conversation. Thank you. I'm
- 13:24Speaker 1: back and excited because he's on the phone. My next
- 13:28Speaker 1: guest is the host of h l NS I gotta,
- 13:31Speaker 1: I gotta tell all his celebrity side, but this shows
- 13:33Speaker 1: about entrepreneurship and that's why I created it. And I'm
- 13:36Speaker 1: so excited that he wanted. He wants to come on
- 13:38Speaker 1: and talk about that side of his career. My next
- 13:40Speaker 1: sense is the host of hl NS How It Really Happened,
- 13:43Speaker 1: which has been renewed for a second season and stars
- 13:45Speaker 1: at Dr Marcus Andrews and the hit TV show The
- 13:48Speaker 1: Good Doctor. Now that's now why I have him on
- 13:51Speaker 1: the show. My next guest is co founded and lunch
- 13:54Speaker 1: Be the Architect and Company, a premium health and wellness
- 13:57Speaker 1: skin company. Please welcome to money making conversations. My favorite
- 14:00Speaker 1: man here Harder. How are you doing here? Doing so well?
- 14:04Speaker 1: So well? How are you? I'm doing great? Man? I
- 14:07Speaker 1: saw you, I saw you know a coup by four
- 14:09Speaker 1: or five? Who do you awards to go? Yeah? Yeah, man,
- 14:13Speaker 1: I love the show. I'm I'm so proud of you
- 14:17Speaker 1: for for uh, encouraging entrepreneurship, encouraging folks to to go
- 14:22Speaker 1: out and take risk and actually build businesses, create jobs
- 14:25Speaker 1: and uh and that that's what I'm attempting to do myself.
- 14:27Speaker 1: And so it's great that that you're on this show
- 14:30Speaker 1: encouraging folks to do that. Well. I got to hire
- 14:32Speaker 1: first of all. I wanted to before we throw love
- 14:35Speaker 1: my way, and I don't want to thank you for
- 14:36Speaker 1: that love. That's all I've ever seen you do. Man.
- 14:39Speaker 1: You've always been an ambassador man for uplift, for the
- 14:42Speaker 1: everyday person. That is. That's kind of like a part
- 14:45Speaker 1: of your d n A. Correct it is. You know
- 14:48Speaker 1: what's crazy is I grew up in a family where
- 14:51Speaker 1: my grandfather was a pharmacist in Seneca, South Carolina, which
- 14:55Speaker 1: is a small town. He the black community all all
- 14:59Speaker 1: around down and and he would try I would see
- 15:01Speaker 1: him trade potatoes, chickens for pharmaceuticals, and he served the community,
- 15:07Speaker 1: you know, he literally served the community. And and my
- 15:09Speaker 1: other grandfather, my father's side, was the same way. And
- 15:13Speaker 1: I learned that from them, and and and I really,
- 15:15Speaker 1: what's the use of of being here, of traveling through
- 15:18Speaker 1: this journey of life unless you actually serve the community
- 15:22Speaker 1: that you're a part of. And that's that's that's just
- 15:24Speaker 1: it makes me happy. Man. I get as much out
- 15:26Speaker 1: of it as as uh as I give. And so
- 15:29Speaker 1: so I'm proud of that. And I'm proud that my
- 15:31Speaker 1: family gave me that, and they believing this should be
- 15:34Speaker 1: proud of that because the fact that you know, I
- 15:36Speaker 1: come from humble beginnings, and the whole purpose of with
- 15:40Speaker 1: my success is that I've just had this natural entrepreneurs
- 15:43Speaker 1: side of me, and natural trying to uplift and natural
- 15:46Speaker 1: trying to be engaged and trying to create people. And
- 15:48Speaker 1: one of the interesting things that I want to bring
- 15:50Speaker 1: up here was that in I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Really I didn't know that. Yeah, that's the crazy part.
- 15:58Speaker 1: And I just found that out. And that's one of
- 15:59Speaker 1: the reason I want to bring you on the show.
- 16:01Speaker 1: And I know there, I know the product we're about
- 16:03Speaker 1: to talk about is tied to that, and and the
- 16:07Speaker 1: thing about it, it was that And I know I
- 16:09Speaker 1: only have you for one break. And I said, Man,
- 16:10Speaker 1: when men get to talk, and they're gonna be said,
- 16:12Speaker 1: because we're gonna talk about so much once he knows
- 16:14Speaker 1: that we have that link. Because it changed my life, man,
- 16:17Speaker 1: because it also let me focus on where am I
- 16:21Speaker 1: add in my life, you know, because I don't care.
- 16:24Speaker 1: You know this for a fact. When they say the
- 16:25Speaker 1: word cancer, dude, your life stops. Yea, it stops. I
- 16:30Speaker 1: don't care who you are, how young you are, how
- 16:32Speaker 1: old you are, I don't care what. It's just the
- 16:34Speaker 1: sea word has been spoken in front of you, and
- 16:36Speaker 1: you're starting to put all everything in order, everything in order.
- 16:40Speaker 1: And and that is that because that happened to you,
- 16:43Speaker 1: it inspired you and tell us the respiration and so
- 16:46Speaker 1: we can get into the whole reason why you're on
- 16:48Speaker 1: the show today. Yeah, So what happened when I was
- 16:51Speaker 1: diagnosed with cancer. My father had died of cancer, pareat cancer,
- 16:56Speaker 1: My uncle had died of lung cancer. My grandfather, their head,
- 17:00Speaker 1: died of cancer. So so cancer obviously ran in the
- 17:03Speaker 1: mail of my family. So I was I was very
- 17:05Speaker 1: afraid and then ultimately did everything I could to to
- 17:09Speaker 1: to to deal with it, had the surgery, all of that.
- 17:13Speaker 1: So this President Obama. President Obama knew that this had
- 17:16Speaker 1: happened to me, um, you know, through our friendship, and
- 17:19Speaker 1: he asked me if I would join the President's Cancer Panel,
- 17:22Speaker 1: which is a panel that makes recommendations to the White
- 17:24Speaker 1: House round cancer policy. There's always one non scientist on
- 17:28Speaker 1: the panel. So I joined this panel. And what happened
- 17:31Speaker 1: was all these scientists would come in and say, listen,
- 17:34Speaker 1: this isn't studied and it will never be studied because
- 17:37Speaker 1: of money and political reasons that I'll talk to you
- 17:39Speaker 1: about blah blah blah blah blah. But we believe that
- 17:42Speaker 1: a lot of the root cause of cancer has to
- 17:44Speaker 1: do with what we put on our skin. Our skin
- 17:46Speaker 1: is the largest organ in our body, swords everything. If
- 17:50Speaker 1: you aid it, your enderconsystem, your liver, your kidneys have
- 17:53Speaker 1: to deal with it. And they said the reason why
- 17:55Speaker 1: I will never be tested because the same companies that
- 17:57Speaker 1: make the lotions that contain the illuminiums, the petroleums, the
- 18:00Speaker 1: paramin and the oils and all these things, the same
- 18:03Speaker 1: companies who make that are also the same companies of
- 18:05Speaker 1: the drug company. So they're never going to do a
- 18:08Speaker 1: long term study of the effects of their product on
- 18:12Speaker 1: on on you. So it led me to to to
- 18:16Speaker 1: join with a scientist. Uh we formulated products to two
- 18:20Speaker 1: years of formulation to create this company called Be the
- 18:23Speaker 1: Architect dot Com. Because I always talk about all of
- 18:25Speaker 1: us are the architects of our own life. We can
- 18:28Speaker 1: create a life like an architect builds a building, but
- 18:30Speaker 1: you gotta start with a blueprint or a plan, and
- 18:32Speaker 1: then you've got to build a foundation, etcetera, just like
- 18:35Speaker 1: an architect approaches. So so that's why it's called be
- 18:38Speaker 1: the Architect dot Com. People can go to Hill Harper
- 18:40Speaker 1: dot com and actually see the product that we have.
- 18:43Speaker 1: You know, a ton of promotions, but basically the products
- 18:46Speaker 1: are affordable, premium quality products that don't contain any carcinogenic material.
- 18:52Speaker 1: When I say Carson and gentle matey, I'm talking about
- 18:54Speaker 1: if lotions. Most people are listening to us right now,
- 18:58Speaker 1: have on their shelf. If you at the back, it
- 19:00Speaker 1: will say aluminium in some form on the back of that.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Your body cannot process aluminum. It cannot process it. But
- 19:08Speaker 1: if you put it on your skin, it goes into
- 19:10Speaker 1: your liver, it goes into your kidneys, and it impacts
- 19:13Speaker 1: you your body. Petroleum, you're not meant to absorb literally
- 19:18Speaker 1: motor oil. When I'm calling you know, it's sad that
- 19:22Speaker 1: whole life petroleum. Jelly is delly is a byproduct of oil. Yeah,
- 19:30Speaker 1: we we will, will will put vasoline all over our
- 19:33Speaker 1: bodies and think that's healthy. It's horrible, your nose, everything,
- 19:38Speaker 1: you know. I'm yeah, we'll put it. We'll put it there.
- 19:41Speaker 1: And then the worst one of all, to be honest,
- 19:44Speaker 1: is what they call baby oil because it makes you
- 19:47Speaker 1: think it's good for a baby. Will actually put it
- 19:49Speaker 1: on babies. That is called the basis. They call it
- 19:52Speaker 1: mineral oil, which is another big lie. It's nothing mineral
- 19:55Speaker 1: about it. There's no minerals. What it is is another
- 19:58Speaker 1: petroleum by product. Okay, it is. It is horrendous for you,
- 20:04Speaker 1: but yet it's cheap. They sell it to the communities
- 20:07Speaker 1: that that that have the least amount of money our communities, right,
- 20:11Speaker 1: and they market it as if it's good for babies, etcetera.
- 20:14Speaker 1: So my product, I said, well, I gotta come out
- 20:16Speaker 1: with the set of price. There's plenty of organic products
- 20:18Speaker 1: out there that are expensive, right, But I said, I
- 20:21Speaker 1: need to come out with some products that that folks
- 20:23Speaker 1: don't have to choose between food and and and healthy products.
- 20:27Speaker 1: It's a shame that that choice is out there. So
- 20:30Speaker 1: if you go to the site Hill Harvord dot com,
- 20:32Speaker 1: you'll see be the architect UH and Co. You'll see us,
- 20:36Speaker 1: and you'll see that these products are extremely healthy, but
- 20:39Speaker 1: they're also extremely affordable the same same price you pay
- 20:42Speaker 1: for for other other products that in the same category
- 20:45Speaker 1: at Walgreen, CVS or get Walmart. And we should tell
- 20:49Speaker 1: you there's a female line and a male line, and
- 20:53Speaker 1: that needs to be really really brought up because I
- 20:55Speaker 1: look through the whole process that way. But I would
- 20:57Speaker 1: tell you this, that's very important because a lot of
- 21:00Speaker 1: the people think you can't you know, female and male
- 21:03Speaker 1: skin tones, embody needs and all needs. Inherent needs are
- 21:07Speaker 1: totally different. And I hate problems to try to make
- 21:09Speaker 1: it all in one. That's why I really respected your
- 21:12Speaker 1: whole brain. When I saw that when he's on the
- 21:14Speaker 1: something that's really good because he's not trying to make
- 21:17Speaker 1: this all in one just bother shampoo work for women
- 21:19Speaker 1: and they bother up all you're saying it's different and
- 21:22Speaker 1: explain to people why that's important. So it's important because
- 21:26Speaker 1: here's the deal. When you when when you put oil
- 21:30Speaker 1: or you put anything on your body, it go. It
- 21:33Speaker 1: impacts the pH of your skin, which is you know
- 21:37Speaker 1: you you you want your skin to be soft. All
- 21:40Speaker 1: of us wanted to be soft and wanted to be healthy,
- 21:42Speaker 1: trying not drying ashy. And the oil, the key oil
- 21:47Speaker 1: that we use. It's called wild bab oil, wild bab oil,
- 21:50Speaker 1: and it's from Africa. It's got properties of vitamin A
- 21:53Speaker 1: D C. It's from they called the tree of life
- 21:57Speaker 1: in Africa and it's the wildbab tree. The oil comes
- 22:00Speaker 1: from a seed there. It's grown in Malawi, Northern Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Madagascar,
- 22:06Speaker 1: et cetera. And we're one of the first products in
- 22:09Speaker 1: the United States to import bilbab oil and infuse it
- 22:13Speaker 1: into our products. We think the oil is great, particularly
- 22:16Speaker 1: for skin with melanin and when you have melanin in
- 22:20Speaker 1: your skin to need um. The need shift, they change,
- 22:23Speaker 1: we have less. We tend to have less vitamin D
- 22:26Speaker 1: in our system. Our Vitamin D is one of the
- 22:28Speaker 1: healthiest properties you can have. We tend to have less
- 22:30Speaker 1: vitamin D because the melanin in our skin, and so therefore,
- 22:35Speaker 1: supplementing vitamin D and having oils that already naturally contain
- 22:40Speaker 1: vitamin D properties in the oil helps you get that
- 22:43Speaker 1: through your skin. Uh. And you don't have to lay
- 22:45Speaker 1: out in the sun all day now, So go ahead. Now,
- 22:50Speaker 1: I'm about to say, I wanted to let people know
- 22:52Speaker 1: about the subscription. I apologize for cutting you up. I want,
- 22:54Speaker 1: I don't I want, I don't want to be really
- 22:56Speaker 1: remiss and let people know that I love the fact
- 22:59Speaker 1: that you for a subscription component because because here's the
- 23:04Speaker 1: deal with my wife, she gets mad at me because
- 23:06Speaker 1: I go to the store or CVS or wal gree
- 23:08Speaker 1: and I buy four or five or something, and she goes,
- 23:11Speaker 1: why are you just crowding up her? Well, see, I
- 23:13Speaker 1: like the factor you're offering your subscription that way, it
- 23:16Speaker 1: comes in on the on the time I'm gonna run out,
- 23:18Speaker 1: And I love that option. Man. I gotta get that out.
- 23:22Speaker 1: You know, we're at the point now where folks are
- 23:24Speaker 1: shifting their buying habit, not just showing up at the
- 23:27Speaker 1: stores anymore and saying I'm gonna pull this off the shelf.
- 23:31Speaker 1: So what we wanted to do is created an automatic
- 23:35Speaker 1: way that you get a box every two months, automatically
- 23:38Speaker 1: in a cool, great way to give gift somebody. Now
- 23:40Speaker 1: we're in the holiday season, come on, come on, a
- 23:43Speaker 1: lot of a lot of brothers out there. Come on,
- 23:47Speaker 1: a lot of brothers are really taking care of their
- 23:50Speaker 1: grooming needs the way they should. And if you're assist
- 23:53Speaker 1: out there, who has a niece, I mean a nephew
- 23:56Speaker 1: or a son, or a boyfriend or a husband or
- 23:59Speaker 1: baby daddy or whatever categories time time, because you know,
- 24:04Speaker 1: buy a subscription so for an entire year at a
- 24:08Speaker 1: very affordable price, they'll they'll have their whole grooming stuff unlocked.
- 24:12Speaker 1: They're good. They have shaving kids, shaving oil, bump Fighter,
- 24:16Speaker 1: they'll have the skincare, they have the shampoo, a bump fighter,
- 24:22Speaker 1: bump Fighter absolutely. And you know, obviously we don't want
- 24:25Speaker 1: a key Lloyd. We have different needs because our hair
- 24:27Speaker 1: curls before hits the top of the skin, so with curls,
- 24:30Speaker 1: so we need different things to open up the skin
- 24:33Speaker 1: to make sure the hair and the follicle can make
- 24:36Speaker 1: it out and soil. That's what bump fighters do. Some
- 24:38Speaker 1: bump fighters have acid. We don't choose to put acid
- 24:41Speaker 1: in our bump fighters because we don't believe you need
- 24:43Speaker 1: to be burning your skin to have healthy skin. So
- 24:47Speaker 1: so what I'm doing for everybody, for everybody who's listening,
- 24:51Speaker 1: I've decided to do a promotional code because I respect
- 24:54Speaker 1: this audience. Um, we're gonna do if you if you
- 24:57Speaker 1: put in the promotional code, try me try on the
- 25:03Speaker 1: website you off off? Can you do? Can you do
- 25:08Speaker 1: me a face here? Okay? Because I got a Facebook
- 25:11Speaker 1: page money Making Conversation, and I also have my my
- 25:13Speaker 1: personal Facebook page there's almost seven hundred thousand followers. Please
- 25:18Speaker 1: tell your team to give me of a banner, a
- 25:22Speaker 1: social media banner that says that on there, and I
- 25:25Speaker 1: will post that my friend more. I posted in November,
- 25:28Speaker 1: and I come back and posted again in December on
- 25:31Speaker 1: my personal fan page. Because this is Christmas time. I
- 25:35Speaker 1: know exactly what you're trying to do here with a
- 25:37Speaker 1: product that cared about I said, I love the fact
- 25:40Speaker 1: that you know, first of all, you're small, You've done
- 25:42Speaker 1: your work. Now. The only thing I was kind of
- 25:44Speaker 1: wondering why when I went to the male side, which
- 25:47Speaker 1: is H two L the female problem is j u A,
- 25:50Speaker 1: why I didn't do it? I see your Harper Why
- 25:56Speaker 1: that see here Harper face? I saw this because why
- 25:59Speaker 1: come on your face? That's a great point. You know
- 26:04Speaker 1: what we're what we're attempting to do here is not
- 26:07Speaker 1: build it off just my celebrity and the idea saying leverages.
- 26:11Speaker 1: You know here here is this is I want to
- 26:14Speaker 1: be taken seriously as a business owner and not just
- 26:17Speaker 1: some celeb who people think they slapped his name on
- 26:20Speaker 1: a product. Stop. Now, this is what I do. This
- 26:24Speaker 1: is what I do branding and marketing. Now, I see
- 26:26Speaker 1: Jenner for Little Pears. I see all these stars out
- 26:29Speaker 1: here on these face Beyonce. But you know the difference.
- 26:35Speaker 1: The difference difference is they don't make their products. They're
- 26:39Speaker 1: just they're they're just private labeling. Absolutely, this is true.
- 26:44Speaker 1: I'm manufacted this, it is my manufacturing company. It's my
- 26:47Speaker 1: I'm manufactured. All in the USA were jobs and and
- 26:52Speaker 1: so I'm not private labeling this product. That's why I
- 26:55Speaker 1: have control over all the made in some fact Hill
- 27:01Speaker 1: Harper label on it. This is my company UM and
- 27:05Speaker 1: and my partners, and we manufactured at our manufacturing company.
- 27:08Speaker 1: And so that's why I'm so proud. And that's why
- 27:10Speaker 1: it's like, folks, if you want, if you want something
- 27:12Speaker 1: good to support, this is the story. That's what I'm telling.
- 27:15Speaker 1: And and also I'll make this point. I met with
- 27:17Speaker 1: an expert can't care and and I wanted his advice,
- 27:21Speaker 1: just like all of us, we need advice and help
- 27:24Speaker 1: along our our journey. And he told me Hill, he said,
- 27:27Speaker 1: at this price point, you're gonna fail. Because why do
- 27:30Speaker 1: you say that? He said, well, what you don't realize
- 27:34Speaker 1: is that in the skincare area, people have been brained brainwashed.
- 27:38Speaker 1: And I said, what do you mean brainwash? He said, well,
- 27:40Speaker 1: people believe that if it's not expensive, it can't be good.
- 27:43Speaker 1: Then he broke out this little one ounce thing, a
- 27:46Speaker 1: little thing of oil uh things, you know. He calls
- 27:51Speaker 1: it a serum, and he said how much do you
- 27:53Speaker 1: He said, how much do you think it cost me
- 27:55Speaker 1: to make this serum? I said, I have no idea.
- 27:58Speaker 1: He said, well, how much you do I charge for?
- 28:00Speaker 1: I said, well, on the box right here, says Manufacturradition
- 28:03Speaker 1: rep Tales says, he that's how much we charge for.
- 28:08Speaker 1: And he says it's my best seller. I said, well,
- 28:09Speaker 1: how much does it cost? He says, it costs me
- 28:11Speaker 1: two dollars and ninety seven cents and and half of
- 28:14Speaker 1: that is the gold packaging and the bottle. And I said,
- 28:18Speaker 1: are you kidding me? He said, yeah, that's my margin.
- 28:21Speaker 1: I said, that's fantastic. But you know what, here's the deal. Um,
- 28:25Speaker 1: I believe in my people that once they get educated
- 28:28Speaker 1: about how you how you all are ripping them off here, um,
- 28:33Speaker 1: how you all are are literally you know the new
- 28:36Speaker 1: snake oil salesman, that they'll they'll they'll they'll read the ingredients,
- 28:41Speaker 1: they'll understand that there's healthy there. I'm providing a healthy
- 28:45Speaker 1: product at a great price, and they'll buy my product.
- 28:48Speaker 1: And so maybe I'm taking the tortoise approach, the long
- 28:50Speaker 1: term approach, because listen, me, giving away is a big
- 28:53Speaker 1: hit because my margins aren't that high in this In
- 28:57Speaker 1: this case, I'm keeping my costs low to let people
- 29:01Speaker 1: purchase a product that they deserve to have a healthy
- 29:05Speaker 1: alternative at the same price point as the luber dorms
- 29:09Speaker 1: and as the other price lie. You know, they don't.
- 29:11Speaker 1: They shouldn't have to pay fifty dollars for a conditioner.
- 29:14Speaker 1: You know which most organic conditions forty dollars for. You know,
- 29:18Speaker 1: here's the You don't have to do that. You can
- 29:21Speaker 1: purchase my product Hill Harper dot com, be the architect
- 29:24Speaker 1: dot com and do the try me twenty at the
- 29:27Speaker 1: code and and and and that'll be great. I appreciate
- 29:29Speaker 1: the support, and I appreciate the listeners of any feedback
- 29:32Speaker 1: y'all have about any of my products. We since I
- 29:35Speaker 1: can sold the manufacturers, I can change it, I can
- 29:37Speaker 1: evolve it. And that's partly what we're doing. So SAW
- 29:40Speaker 1: stands for the Women's law, stands for h son in
- 29:43Speaker 1: Swahili j u a and H two ols is to
- 29:47Speaker 1: play on my name two ages. Well um and and
- 29:51Speaker 1: that's it. But you're right, you know what for you
- 29:53Speaker 1: because you said it, I'm gonna throw my faith. Jill,
- 29:58Speaker 1: my man, my man. And when you in that flying
- 30:00Speaker 1: to me about the discount, put your face on. Tell
- 30:03Speaker 1: her put your face because I'm gonna put it on
- 30:05Speaker 1: my I'm putting my linked in account. I'm gonna put
- 30:08Speaker 1: it on my fan page account, I'm putting on the
- 30:11Speaker 1: money making Facebook account, and I'm put on my Twitter
- 30:13Speaker 1: account both personal and moneyment conversation. I'm gonna flood the
- 30:17Speaker 1: market both November and December. Hell, you're the best, man,
- 30:20Speaker 1: You're the best. And don't forget this here. You know,
- 30:23Speaker 1: Valentine's Day coming up, we're gonna promote it. Then Mother's
- 30:26Speaker 1: Day coming up, We're gonna promote it then and get it. Well,
- 30:29Speaker 1: we're gonna finally have a gift we can give away
- 30:31Speaker 1: on Father's Day. Come on here, I'm thinking about. I'm
- 30:35Speaker 1: gonna come back the first week and to sever on
- 30:37Speaker 1: the show, report how we're doing November. Then you go on, man,
- 30:40Speaker 1: I love your brother. Keep seng coming back with more
- 30:46Speaker 1: the Friedlan neighborhood tech expert. Come on now, she's coming
- 30:50Speaker 1: up and she's not even swinging between buildings. She swinging
- 30:53Speaker 1: between digit the world and social Well, Steph, Nick, come on,
- 30:58Speaker 1: come on that money making conversation, having fun by cool,
- 31:14Speaker 1: Welcome back to money making Conversation. She's been on the
- 31:16Speaker 1: whole and I'm so happy she's patient because I ran
- 31:20Speaker 1: that here. Harper Interview a little bit long, and I
- 31:23Speaker 1: appreciate her stand online, but let me get up. My
- 31:25Speaker 1: next guest is a lifestyle tech expert. You've seen her
- 31:29Speaker 1: on Harry As hosted by Harry Cornick Junior. One of
- 31:31Speaker 1: my favorite shows, Good Morning America News one hosted by
- 31:35Speaker 1: my boy out of Houston, Texas, Rolling Martin on TV one,
- 31:39Speaker 1: and now she's on my show. One of the main conversations,
- 31:42Speaker 1: please work with money making conversations, Stephanie Humphrey. Hello, come on, Stephanie,
- 31:47Speaker 1: give me that, give me that TV energy, stephan to
- 31:49Speaker 1: give me that. What's good? I heard? I heard you say.
- 31:54Speaker 1: You know she she's she's a friendly neighborhood tech asperate
- 31:58Speaker 1: to not even swinging through buildings. I love it, you
- 32:01Speaker 1: know what, Like I said, you know, you know, I'm
- 32:02Speaker 1: a I'm a spider man food So you know, since
- 32:06Speaker 1: I saw that, you know, I gotta get on that
- 32:08Speaker 1: one because that's the people think movie made eight hundred
- 32:13Speaker 1: million worldwide. Let's keep you swinging. I'm happy for you.
- 32:18Speaker 1: First of all, congratulations on everything you're doing. Uh, we're
- 32:22Speaker 1: gonna it's gonna be a journey. We've got two breaks
- 32:24Speaker 1: here that we're gonna talk and slow down and just
- 32:26Speaker 1: learn a few interesting things about you. And I want
- 32:29Speaker 1: to first start out about the fact that you're you're
- 32:33Speaker 1: you're very inspirational to young women who are going into
- 32:36Speaker 1: the STEM world. And STEM stands for science, Technology, Engineering,
- 32:41Speaker 1: and math. And my daughter, my daughter is a first
- 32:44Speaker 1: year student at the University of Houston and she's major
- 32:48Speaker 1: in the mechanical engineering. Oh good for her. Awesome And
- 32:54Speaker 1: so when I when I read that, I immediately became
- 32:56Speaker 1: a bigger fan of you because the fact, did you know,
- 33:01Speaker 1: you know everybody, these role models, you know everybody, these
- 33:03Speaker 1: opportunities and sometimes you know, just saying and reading little
- 33:07Speaker 1: things like that, you know, make me feel good that
- 33:09Speaker 1: my daughter has somebody out there looking out for her.
- 33:12Speaker 1: My degrees in mathematics, so so I'm a fan member
- 33:15Speaker 1: to Okay to let you know your boy with you
- 33:18Speaker 1: two in that Steam club. That's it. And my degrees
- 33:23Speaker 1: in mathematics, my minors and sociology and mathematics change my life,
- 33:27Speaker 1: to change my life from a standpoint of the first
- 33:30Speaker 1: of all, I love the fact, you know, I'm entertained.
- 33:32Speaker 1: I'm in entertainment. I've been entertained for the last thirty years.
- 33:35Speaker 1: But every time I tell somebody I'm in math. You know,
- 33:38Speaker 1: I get that, I get that bowed out respect, you know,
- 33:41Speaker 1: right right, it's a whole different level about this level
- 33:46Speaker 1: to this and you start talking science or bology and yeah,
- 33:52Speaker 1: and the whole conversation, Oh yeah, I said I'm in math,
- 33:59Speaker 1: be like a it likes it like they just they
- 34:01Speaker 1: just stopped talking. It's almost like because i'd be an
- 34:04Speaker 1: entertainment room automatically the smartest person in the room, singers, actors,
- 34:11Speaker 1: ceo entertainment. I go, my degree in math. They go, man, right,
- 34:16Speaker 1: who said that? Who said that? It was black? Do
- 34:18Speaker 1: in the corner his degree and Mad he's standing. Yeah,
- 34:22Speaker 1: he's standing on there by himself because everybody afraid to
- 34:24Speaker 1: talk to him. Afraid to talk to him. He might
- 34:26Speaker 1: ask them quite crazy or something like that. Something. It's
- 34:32Speaker 1: a beautiful thing. But I will tell you I am
- 34:34Speaker 1: flawed though. This is why I have to give you
- 34:36Speaker 1: mad respect this time. Because your degree is an engineering correct. Yes,
- 34:41Speaker 1: my undergraduate degree, my BS is an electrical engineer, and
- 34:45Speaker 1: my master's degree is in Telecommunications and Networking engineer. Now,
- 34:49Speaker 1: first of all, you didn't even have to go to
- 34:51Speaker 1: the next level. First, of all. You know, you know,
- 34:53Speaker 1: see I hate people who extra answer, who answer, hey,
- 34:57Speaker 1: I worked hard for that. I worked hard for that.
- 35:00Speaker 1: You have to make your folks know, Stephanie, you asked
- 35:02Speaker 1: your answering. Okay, I just mentioned my little minor. Okay, okay,
- 35:06Speaker 1: I'm gonna show him this way, this way. He asked
- 35:08Speaker 1: me with my degree he was on, he was on
- 35:11Speaker 1: that bicicle, whether to rotate, whether to rotate? I said,
- 35:14Speaker 1: my degree in math or the mind and sociality? Said really, okay,
- 35:19Speaker 1: when as we both did on thing, you know, Okay,
- 35:24Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you why I didn't do my thing
- 35:25Speaker 1: because I wanted to have a degree in engineer. But
- 35:29Speaker 1: that physics love, and it'll get to that's that's the
- 35:35Speaker 1: that's the that's the equalizers. Physics. Girl. I kid, you
- 35:41Speaker 1: not change my life. I know, I know it, I
- 35:46Speaker 1: know it. I know I can remember. Um, I had
- 35:48Speaker 1: to take two semesters or physics, and I can remember
- 35:52Speaker 1: that first semester. I said, you know what, I'm gonna
- 35:55Speaker 1: get an A in this class if it killed me
- 35:58Speaker 1: and everybody around me and my roommate nine we both
- 36:01Speaker 1: were taking it at the same time. And I mean
- 36:04Speaker 1: I had I ain't never studied so hard in my life.
- 36:06Speaker 1: I tell you, it killed me. Okay, it killed me
- 36:13Speaker 1: so bad, Stephanie. I have a degree in math and
- 36:17Speaker 1: very proud of it. I'm very proud of because what
- 36:19Speaker 1: happens is I always tell people, don't force who you
- 36:23Speaker 1: are trying to be who you supposed to be. I
- 36:26Speaker 1: was never supposed even in high school. My teachers all
- 36:30Speaker 1: not always tell me you're just a natural and man.
- 36:33Speaker 1: And it wasn't that I got to college gud. I
- 36:34Speaker 1: thought I wanted to go here. I remember what I
- 36:37Speaker 1: was in civil engineering. Then I went to mechanical engineering,
- 36:40Speaker 1: then I went to economics, I went to everything, and
- 36:42Speaker 1: then I just came back and went the man. And
- 36:45Speaker 1: it was like I just I blew through it so
- 36:48Speaker 1: fast it was ridiculous. So so I just knew that
- 36:51Speaker 1: I was trying to be something just that I wasn't.
- 36:54Speaker 1: And then God allowed me to mature and not drop
- 36:57Speaker 1: out because I'm one of those people who see it through.
- 37:00Speaker 1: You asked me to start something, I'm gonna see it
- 37:02Speaker 1: to the end. And that's why I really respect you
- 37:04Speaker 1: and I really appreciate you, and I wanted to just
- 37:06Speaker 1: get those conversational moments out about you, because we're gonna
- 37:10Speaker 1: play this back on our Heart Radio, my popular podcast,
- 37:13Speaker 1: and get this out and send you, uh you know,
- 37:15Speaker 1: a version of this interview so you can play it
- 37:17Speaker 1: back on your social media. But it's important that still
- 37:21Speaker 1: is the difference maker about anything in life. You know,
- 37:23Speaker 1: it's it's it's it's a it's an engender, it's a
- 37:27Speaker 1: different maker and racial breakdown. You just gotta put the
- 37:31Speaker 1: time in and understand the value. And that's why I
- 37:34Speaker 1: wanted to move to the next level. How to prepare
- 37:37Speaker 1: yourself for a career in tech? I want to let's
- 37:40Speaker 1: get that rolling, and if you wrap that up, we're
- 37:42Speaker 1: gonna go to break and then wanta come back and
- 37:44Speaker 1: we'll talk some more with my friendly neighborhood tech person.
- 37:47Speaker 1: But explain how how how do you prepare yourself for
- 37:50Speaker 1: a career in technology? Well, I think you have to
- 37:54Speaker 1: really immerse yourself in it. You have to understand that
- 37:58Speaker 1: you know, whatever area you us to go into, and
- 38:01Speaker 1: especially if it's gonna be technology and coding, you have
- 38:04Speaker 1: to do that thing. You know most days. I won't
- 38:07Speaker 1: I won't go as far as to say every single day,
- 38:09Speaker 1: but you have to do that thing most days, and
- 38:11Speaker 1: you need to be a student of it, and you
- 38:14Speaker 1: need to understand that you're you may or you may
- 38:17Speaker 1: not get it right away. And I think that's where
- 38:19Speaker 1: a lot of us um go to the left, because
- 38:22Speaker 1: when you don't get those concepts, these are these are
- 38:25Speaker 1: complex concepts that you know, can all be broken down
- 38:28Speaker 1: into their simplest parts, but at the beginning it might
- 38:31Speaker 1: seem like, you know, a huge thing, and if you
- 38:35Speaker 1: don't get it right away, that discourages a lot of
- 38:37Speaker 1: people right out the gate because they think it's something
- 38:40Speaker 1: that's just you know, too hard for them. They're just
- 38:43Speaker 1: not smart enough. And it really does just require repetition,
- 38:48Speaker 1: you know. That's the beautiful thing about math. Math is
- 38:50Speaker 1: always the same too for us. Two is four all
- 38:52Speaker 1: around the world, you know, and if it's something else
- 38:58Speaker 1: right there. Uh So, it's like the the concepts once,
- 39:03Speaker 1: you know, once they're broken down or so simple that
- 39:07Speaker 1: you just but you just have to stick with it
- 39:09Speaker 1: because it's not gonna be obvious to most people. I mean,
- 39:12Speaker 1: you had that that proclivity right out the game, you know,
- 39:15Speaker 1: but some of us got to study a little harder.
- 39:17Speaker 1: Some of us gotta work a little harder, but in
- 39:19Speaker 1: that moment when it clicks, you'll always have it because
- 39:23Speaker 1: it's always the same and it's always transferable. So it's like,
- 39:28Speaker 1: you know, the one thing I would tell anybody, you
- 39:31Speaker 1: know first before anything else. It's just hang in there.
- 39:34Speaker 1: We have you know, especially girls. Girls get so frustrated
- 39:37Speaker 1: and they get you know, they think maybe it's just
- 39:40Speaker 1: not for me, maybe this is something only the boys
- 39:42Speaker 1: can do or or whatever. So just hang in there
- 39:47Speaker 1: and stick with it, and it will click. It will
- 39:50Speaker 1: eventually click, but you gotta do the work that's important.
- 39:53Speaker 1: We'll be right back with more friendly neighborhood tech expert.
- 39:57Speaker 1: That's my girl, Stephanie Humphrey. Don't go nowhere. We're on
- 40:01Speaker 1: a roll now. I got a personality way up here.
- 40:04Speaker 1: She's swinging through buildings. No she's not. She's a tech expert.
- 40:07Speaker 1: She doesn't need to swing through building. She just serves
- 40:09Speaker 1: through all the buildings. Did you to leave with that?
- 40:12Speaker 1: Cool right there, Stephanie, be right back. We're back. Step there,
- 40:28Speaker 1: you're back. I'm back. Come on, you didn't go nowhere?
- 40:31Speaker 1: Did you come on? Now? Thank you very much? Tell
- 40:36Speaker 1: us before we get started, tell us a little bit
- 40:38Speaker 1: about your goals with this whole tech expert because of
- 40:43Speaker 1: the fact that technology is not going in and where.
- 40:45Speaker 1: You know, when when the iPhone came out eight years ago,
- 40:48Speaker 1: it changed everybody's life. You know, I was growing up.
- 40:50Speaker 1: We had to Dick Tracy phone and we all thought
- 40:52Speaker 1: that was a joke and not reality, you know what
- 40:55Speaker 1: I'm saying. So so, but now it's kind of affects
- 40:58Speaker 1: us us in a lot of ways because it's infect
- 41:00Speaker 1: It affects the way we treat our employees because you
- 41:02Speaker 1: can send a text off hours or you're sending an
- 41:05Speaker 1: email off hours, and sometimes you, as an employee, don't
- 41:09Speaker 1: know who should you respond. We're always connected, that's the
- 41:12Speaker 1: thing when everybody is all because of technology today, we
- 41:16Speaker 1: are all always connected. But even with that capability, you know,
- 41:22Speaker 1: I I am always surprised at you know how anxious
- 41:27Speaker 1: technology makes people. You know, if you're not that person
- 41:30Speaker 1: that just loves it and then you're gonna stayd in
- 41:32Speaker 1: line overnight for the new iPhone, you know. There you're
- 41:35Speaker 1: usually pretty anxious about the changes that are coming because
- 41:38Speaker 1: they're coming so quickly. Every day is something new every day,
- 41:41Speaker 1: it's a new app, every day. It's a new social
- 41:43Speaker 1: network every day, you know, it's it's something new. So
- 41:46Speaker 1: most people, most of the people I talk to, are
- 41:48Speaker 1: very anxious about what technology actually is, what it can do.
- 41:53Speaker 1: They're worried about their privacy, They're worried about security. You know,
- 41:57Speaker 1: Equifax just got hacked, and and happy and read information
- 42:00Speaker 1: is out there in the in the in the cloud
- 42:02Speaker 1: right now. So you know what I want to do
- 42:05Speaker 1: ultimately and what I tell people that I do when
- 42:07Speaker 1: they when I say I'm a techn life exper and
- 42:09Speaker 1: they're like, oh, what is that. I just show people
- 42:11Speaker 1: how technology makes your life easier. That that is literally
- 42:14Speaker 1: all I do and I and I want to do that,
- 42:17Speaker 1: uh on the on the biggest platform that I can.
- 42:20Speaker 1: You know, I want to reach as many people as
- 42:22Speaker 1: I can. I just want to help people understand that
- 42:25Speaker 1: it's not something that you necessarily need to fear. You know,
- 42:29Speaker 1: they're you know, there are AI and robot things happening,
- 42:33Speaker 1: you know behind curtains that that we may have to
- 42:36Speaker 1: concern ourselves with coming up going down the line. But
- 42:39Speaker 1: but for the average person on an everyday basis, you know,
- 42:42Speaker 1: technology is here for you. You know, it's here to
- 42:45Speaker 1: to you know, make your life more efficient, to give
- 42:49Speaker 1: you some of your time back, to save you some money,
- 42:52Speaker 1: you know, all of these different things. So I just
- 42:54Speaker 1: want to help people understand how it can do that. Well,
- 42:57Speaker 1: you know, I'm really ready to hop into a driverless car.
- 43:00Speaker 1: I'm really ready now, you know. I mean I'm emotionally
- 43:04Speaker 1: ready for that, you know, So just pull up up,
- 43:09Speaker 1: I just sit in and just take off. I'm ready
- 43:11Speaker 1: for that. I can actually see that happening. You know,
- 43:14Speaker 1: they got cars they parked themselves. Oh no, it's definitely
- 43:17Speaker 1: happening already. There are cars on the road in Las Vegas.
- 43:20Speaker 1: There are cards self driving cars on the road in Pittsburgh.
- 43:23Speaker 1: There are a couple of cities that have been test
- 43:25Speaker 1: market for this technology for for quite some time now,
- 43:28Speaker 1: so they're already out there. Actually, I don't know if
- 43:32Speaker 1: if we're ready to all just hop in the backseats
- 43:35Speaker 1: of cars with with no one driving them. Um. I
- 43:38Speaker 1: think I think that technology still has a little bit,
- 43:41Speaker 1: a little bit more ways to go, but it's coming.
- 43:43Speaker 1: I think we're gonna see it for public transportation first.
- 43:47Speaker 1: I think we're gonna see self driving buses before we
- 43:50Speaker 1: see self driving cars, like before we see individuals just
- 43:53Speaker 1: in cars that drive themselves. I think we'll see I'll
- 43:57Speaker 1: just tell them about slowly down on there on the
- 43:59Speaker 1: self driving and buses. See, I can't be in a
- 44:02Speaker 1: bus with a bunch of crazy people and nobody driving.
- 44:05Speaker 1: I'm just sorry. They're gonna make me nervous there. I
- 44:08Speaker 1: gotta slow you down sometimes because see I was talking
- 44:11Speaker 1: about being in a car by myself. You know what
- 44:14Speaker 1: I'm saying. I don't have nobody screaming, ain't got no babies,
- 44:17Speaker 1: ain't nobody hitting the wrong stop at the wrong time stop.
- 44:21Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. I've been on the bus
- 44:22Speaker 1: like that. I'm thinking. I know I've come from the neighborhood.
- 44:25Speaker 1: I wrote the bus. I wrote this to you know,
- 44:29Speaker 1: on that bus, and some people that shouldn't be on
- 44:31Speaker 1: the bus with you. You know that people shouldn't right
- 44:34Speaker 1: and shouldn't be sitting next to you. I've had some
- 44:36Speaker 1: people sitting next to me and I actually had to
- 44:38Speaker 1: get up. But I also had people sitting next to me.
- 44:41Speaker 1: I was nervous about getting up because the causequences of
- 44:44Speaker 1: their reaction to me getting up they sitting down. Okay,
- 44:48Speaker 1: I might have to ride this. We had to work.
- 44:50Speaker 1: We had to work. The kicks out technology for the
- 44:54Speaker 1: self driving buses will be here, suitor rather than later.
- 44:58Speaker 1: It's really great. Now you made a statement. You're saying
- 45:00Speaker 1: that the technology, uh makes our life better. Explain that.
- 45:05Speaker 1: Explain that to me. I believe it does. I mean,
- 45:08Speaker 1: you know, I'm sitting here on a on a computer
- 45:11Speaker 1: that I can hold in my hand, talking to you
- 45:13Speaker 1: right now. You know this, This wasn't possible ten years ago.
- 45:16Speaker 1: And and I'm actually while I'm doing that, I'm watching you.
- 45:19Speaker 1: I'm looking at you and your lovely suit and your
- 45:21Speaker 1: blue shirt, you know, broadcasting this across the social network
- 45:25Speaker 1: that has two billion, three billion users off me, so
- 45:29Speaker 1: you know it. This is what I mean. It connects
- 45:31Speaker 1: us all. It kind of shrinks the world a little bit.
- 45:34Speaker 1: It makes everybody a global citizen, you know. And again
- 45:38Speaker 1: it can save you money. You can download apps that
- 45:41Speaker 1: you know have coupons and and and can find you
- 45:43Speaker 1: discount and different stuff like that, and and and it
- 45:47Speaker 1: just it gives you your time back as well. I
- 45:49Speaker 1: have an Apple in my fife. I can remember, um,
- 45:51Speaker 1: a couple of years back when I first started doing
- 45:54Speaker 1: tech on television, I talked about this app called Hearing
- 45:57Speaker 1: Reward and what it does is and there are a
- 46:00Speaker 1: lot of apps out there now like it at this point,
- 46:02Speaker 1: But at that time, you know, I used to have
- 46:04Speaker 1: this little wallet, a separate little wallet that all of
- 46:07Speaker 1: my Plastic Rewards cards were in. I had. I had
- 46:11Speaker 1: so many, you know, for the gym, and for every
- 46:13Speaker 1: different grocery store that I went into, and for you know,
- 46:16Speaker 1: Altra and and all these different things that you get
- 46:18Speaker 1: these discounts when you let them scan these little pieces
- 46:20Speaker 1: of plastic. I had a separate wallet for that that
- 46:23Speaker 1: I would have to dig out of my purse and
- 46:26Speaker 1: find that particular card for that particular store to get
- 46:29Speaker 1: that discount. And when I discovered this app that you
- 46:32Speaker 1: can scan all of those cards into the app and
- 46:36Speaker 1: then let them stand your phone, you know what I mean,
- 46:39Speaker 1: Like something like that. It's it sounds small and it
- 46:42Speaker 1: seems like not that big a deal, but that's life changing.
- 46:47Speaker 1: That is quite literally life changing. Now that you don't
- 46:49Speaker 1: have to have MAD because I didn't know about that,
- 46:52Speaker 1: I'm and you'll be taking all of you you've got,
- 46:58Speaker 1: all the more plastic things go on. You'll keep ring
- 47:00Speaker 1: looking like a janitor and try to find the right one,
- 47:04Speaker 1: and all you need is your fault. I eat. You're
- 47:09Speaker 1: not supposed to go here. Now your conversation is not
- 47:12Speaker 1: supposed to make me mad. This conversation, it's not. It's
- 47:15Speaker 1: that matters. So that you're happy because now you now
- 47:17Speaker 1: you've found a way to get some of your time back,
- 47:21Speaker 1: but you're not searching for that little police of plastic
- 47:24Speaker 1: that you've had. You left it at home the day
- 47:27Speaker 1: so you got all this stuff in your card and
- 47:29Speaker 1: you can't save the five percent. You know. It's it's
- 47:31Speaker 1: just it's too much. It's too much. So if so
- 47:34Speaker 1: whatever we can use technology for to make things go
- 47:38Speaker 1: a little bit smoother for us, I'm going for it. Now.
- 47:42Speaker 1: Now you're talking about a couple of things I want
- 47:44Speaker 1: to talk about. Was the cybersecurity, which is which is
- 47:48Speaker 1: you know, not having a patchword one, two, three four
- 47:53Speaker 1: right right? Or your birthday or you know your mama's
- 47:57Speaker 1: your mama's middle name. You know what I'm saying. You
- 48:02Speaker 1: know because it's because you know and not and not
- 48:05Speaker 1: being so familiar that people can because you know, if
- 48:07Speaker 1: you if somebody gets access to your email address and
- 48:11Speaker 1: they know your favorite color, your favorite food, your favorite dog,
- 48:16Speaker 1: your best friend. These are these are typical what's city
- 48:18Speaker 1: you was born in. They can actually crack into your
- 48:21Speaker 1: cyber world. Absolutely, it's not hard to do. It's and
- 48:25Speaker 1: and and unfortunately, you know, human nature being what it is,
- 48:29Speaker 1: we usually give up that information ourselves. You know, you
- 48:32Speaker 1: can somebody can send you an email and it can
- 48:35Speaker 1: look very very close to what email that your bank
- 48:39Speaker 1: might send you with with one little letter off or
- 48:43Speaker 1: one word you know different, or maybe the colors aren't
- 48:47Speaker 1: exactly the same in the logo, but you're not paying
- 48:49Speaker 1: attention to that, and you don't set these people your
- 48:51Speaker 1: account number. You know, most of the hacks that happened,
- 48:54Speaker 1: even the major hacks, happened through what's called social engineering.
- 48:59Speaker 1: You know, these are just well trying different things with
- 49:02Speaker 1: other people, trying to get them to give up some information,
- 49:06Speaker 1: you know, and and they'll say, you know, um, we
- 49:09Speaker 1: think there's something there's something happening with your account. Can
- 49:11Speaker 1: you can you give us, you know, to reply with
- 49:14Speaker 1: your social Security number or reply with your account numbers
- 49:17Speaker 1: so we can make sure. And you know, companies will
- 49:19Speaker 1: never ever do that. They will never call you and
- 49:23Speaker 1: ask you to give that type of information on the phone.
- 49:25Speaker 1: They will never email you and ask for you to
- 49:27Speaker 1: give that type of information over your phone. So we unfortunately,
- 49:30Speaker 1: you know, do a lot of this to ourselves. Um
- 49:33Speaker 1: So it's always you know, incumbent upon us to, like
- 49:37Speaker 1: you said, make sure those passwords are are lockdown. Do
- 49:40Speaker 1: the password manager. I use last pass exactly. You know,
- 49:45Speaker 1: let let that generate the password for you and log
- 49:48Speaker 1: into your stuff for you so you don't have to
- 49:49Speaker 1: keep remembering to change it and and coming up with
- 49:51Speaker 1: you know, strong passwords. So you know, there's a lot
- 49:54Speaker 1: we can do ourselves, uh to to keep ourselves more
- 49:58Speaker 1: secure online. And and it just start with, you know,
- 50:00Speaker 1: honestly a little bit of common sense. Well guess what,
- 50:04Speaker 1: we all don't have commonsense, Rashan McDonald don't have commonsention.
- 50:07Speaker 1: So I have to extend myself because I have. I'm
- 50:10Speaker 1: something I've done the one, two or three four before. Okay,
- 50:13Speaker 1: I've had my I had my address on my on
- 50:16Speaker 1: my on my checking account, I've had my identity stolen.
- 50:21Speaker 1: But I'm gonna just tell you this. I have to
- 50:27Speaker 1: tell people this because see, people think that certain people
- 50:31Speaker 1: don't don't don't qualify for crimes, so don't qualify for
- 50:34Speaker 1: being stupid. And I have to let my listeners and
- 50:36Speaker 1: viewers know that I have a I have a legacy
- 50:39Speaker 1: of stupid in my life that don't repeat your stupidity.
- 50:44Speaker 1: That's the key. Don't repeat your stupidity. And that's why
- 50:47Speaker 1: I wanted to have you on the show, because then
- 50:49Speaker 1: I want to have you back because of the fact
- 50:50Speaker 1: that stuff like this don't sink in. I always tell
- 50:53Speaker 1: people you gotta keep advertising. I keep telling people I
- 50:56Speaker 1: don't have time for that. Change my password right in
- 51:00Speaker 1: the same pass years. You know how you know how
- 51:04Speaker 1: much time it's gonna take to try to get your
- 51:06Speaker 1: identity back, you know, like if you don't have time
- 51:10Speaker 1: to change your password, just thinking how much time you're
- 51:12Speaker 1: gonna need to go to every account and go to
- 51:15Speaker 1: all three credit reporting agencies and and maybe even follow
- 51:19Speaker 1: a police report if necessary. Like the time that it
- 51:22Speaker 1: takes to get your identity and some people never get
- 51:24Speaker 1: it back some time, some people years and years and years.
- 51:27Speaker 1: I got it back. I got my identity back, and
- 51:30Speaker 1: I'm happy. But I have all those things, like you know,
- 51:32Speaker 1: a lot of a lot of times I have that
- 51:34Speaker 1: second stage of are put in the password, then it
- 51:38Speaker 1: sends me a text to my phone. That's my second
- 51:41Speaker 1: that's what That's what you should have on everything, if, if,
- 51:44Speaker 1: whatever service or website or social network, if it's called
- 51:49Speaker 1: two factor authentication, and if you if, if that's an option,
- 51:54Speaker 1: you should enable it. I'm talking to everybody that's listening
- 51:56Speaker 1: right now. If two factor authentication is an option, enable it.
- 52:01Speaker 1: It's one more way to keep yourself safe. Yes, you
- 52:04Speaker 1: gotta get the tax and put the number in and
- 52:06Speaker 1: all that, but it's another it's another fifteen seconds that's
- 52:09Speaker 1: gonna keep somebody that's you know, two factor. I didn't
- 52:13Speaker 1: know that was the name. All I know was that
- 52:17Speaker 1: she just fliptot information on me. I'm gonna take something.
- 52:20Speaker 1: We're gonna what did you live in, doc? What did
- 52:23Speaker 1: you live? I'm in Philadelphia. I'm right outside of the Philadelphia.
- 52:26Speaker 1: I'm gonna come out to Philadelphia because I'll be in
- 52:28Speaker 1: New York in a couple of weeks and I'm always
- 52:30Speaker 1: in d C. Come up there. We're gonna sit down
- 52:32Speaker 1: and we're gonna talk because you are a star, your star,
- 52:36Speaker 1: young lady, your star. We're gonna talk soon and let
- 52:40Speaker 1: me know whenever you're on TV so I can promote

- 53:04Speaker 1: I love it. I love it. This show is on

- 53:33Speaker 1: on the fault and she's been waiting patiently, and I
- 53:36Speaker 1: know she could be somewhere working on somebody's teeth, because
- 53:39Speaker 1: this woman is incredible. She not only does everyday people teeth,
- 53:45Speaker 1: you know, corporate tea, she does celebrity teeth. Let me
- 53:48Speaker 1: let me introduce her so she can start talking. My
- 53:50Speaker 1: next guest is a national brand spokesperson for Colgate Total
- 53:55Speaker 1: and is the owner of New York City Cosmetic and
- 53:57Speaker 1: General Dentistry located in the heart of fifty seventh Street.
- 54:01Speaker 1: Billionaires Row, please work with the money making Conversations Dr
- 54:05Speaker 1: Catrice Austin. There you go, there you go. Come on now,
- 54:12Speaker 1: come on, I got that energy, you got it. I
- 54:18Speaker 1: love it. I love it. Come on, hey, doc, doc,
- 54:20Speaker 1: let's let's let's have fun. Because I'm I'm from New
- 54:22Speaker 1: York City. I lived there. I'm not saying from I've
- 54:25Speaker 1: lived there many years. I'm really from Houston, Texas. But
- 54:27Speaker 1: I lived on the Upper east Side eight six and
- 54:29Speaker 1: first I lived in come on now. Then I lived
- 54:33Speaker 1: there thirty ninth and first. I always stayed on the
- 54:36Speaker 1: East Side. And so I love New York. It was
- 54:38Speaker 1: an experience, but it's also a place where is so
- 54:42Speaker 1: a land of opportunities, and it's just so many people.
- 54:45Speaker 1: And and here I see you. I read read your resume,
- 54:49Speaker 1: and you from little old Flint, Michigan, Michigan. I'm so
- 54:53Speaker 1: thankful to be a girlfrid Michigan. And she had been
- 54:57Speaker 1: in business for nineteen years in the biggest city on
- 55:01Speaker 1: the most sensive street in America. I know. But see,
- 55:05Speaker 1: I can't let you just let that slide. Can see
- 55:07Speaker 1: a lot of people haven't been up to New York.
- 55:09Speaker 1: I know exactly where you at fifty seventh Street, because
- 55:12Speaker 1: I stayed at the London Hotel down there on the
- 55:15Speaker 1: other end, on the west side, so I know exactly
- 55:18Speaker 1: where you at. So so you said, N eighteen years. Okay,
- 55:22Speaker 1: N eighteen years, how do be could we have two
- 55:25Speaker 1: nice breaks? So I'm gonna slow it down because I
- 55:27Speaker 1: want to know your journey because you know you you
- 55:30Speaker 1: you come from Flint. And guess what. Flint is a
- 55:33Speaker 1: town that's been ravaged because of the fact that the
- 55:36Speaker 1: car industry moved away. And we all know what happened
- 55:39Speaker 1: recently with Flint history, but that was way before your time,
- 55:43Speaker 1: right after your time. So how do you take that energy?
- 55:47Speaker 1: And you, you know you're talking about we're talking about
- 55:49Speaker 1: on a city block, can be as many people in Flint,
- 55:53Speaker 1: Michigan on a given day in New York City. So
- 55:56Speaker 1: tell me how did you overcome that? I can. I
- 56:00Speaker 1: can do it here. I can make it here because
- 56:02Speaker 1: that stops a lot of people. I know, you know
- 56:06Speaker 1: just I. It all starts with passion. I have wanted
- 56:10Speaker 1: to be a dentist at the age of fifteen years old.
- 56:14Speaker 1: Industry changed my life. And when I got bracest and
- 56:20Speaker 1: realized the power, the power of a smile, it just
- 56:24Speaker 1: changed my life. And so I wanted to be a dentist.
- 56:26Speaker 1: I didn't have to sign my journey. I just went
- 56:30Speaker 1: for it, despite not having a family with a lot
- 56:33Speaker 1: of money. My entire family was the general motors. But
- 56:36Speaker 1: it was something to me that said I had to
- 56:38Speaker 1: be a dentist because I wanted to change the world
- 56:41Speaker 1: by changing someone else's smile, like my smile was changed. UM.
- 56:45Speaker 1: I went to University of Michigan undergrad plange a k A.
- 56:48Speaker 1: Go blue hey behind ya, don't pass by dot and
- 56:59Speaker 1: go to the university there Maryland, where I had a
- 57:01Speaker 1: lot of support as a young dental student that was
- 57:04Speaker 1: African Americans. They prided them sales or graduating a lot
- 57:08Speaker 1: of black dentists. And when when it was time to
- 57:11Speaker 1: practice my UH dentistry, I said, let me go to
- 57:14Speaker 1: the big city. Let me go to New York just
- 57:17Speaker 1: for a year to test it out. And when I
- 57:19Speaker 1: got here in nineties six, hip hop was popped in,
- 57:23Speaker 1: comedy was popped in UH. There was a lot of
- 57:26Speaker 1: opportunities and at the time, in nineties ninety eight, there
- 57:30Speaker 1: weren't anybody that there weren't other dentirets that looked like me.
- 57:34Speaker 1: So people are like w you're black, you're female, you're
- 57:38Speaker 1: in your twenties, like, don't go back to Michigan, don't
- 57:40Speaker 1: go back to Baltimore. Stay here because we'll support you.
- 57:44Speaker 1: And I didn't know. I didn't not have any money
- 57:46Speaker 1: at all. I was probably a hundred thousand dollars in debt.
- 57:50Speaker 1: But I knew that that I wanted to stay here
- 57:53Speaker 1: because I felt comfortable and I loved music. I love entertainment,
- 57:57Speaker 1: I always have. So I thought that I would marry
- 58:00Speaker 1: the two my love for entertainment and my love for dentistry.
- 58:04Speaker 1: And I started hanging out at this comedy club called
- 58:07Speaker 1: the Boston Comedy Club, Comedy Downtown in the village. Come underground,
- 58:14Speaker 1: go downstairs, downstairs exactly, Okay, I know you're talking about. Yes,
- 58:20Speaker 1: So I used to go there because I didn't have
- 58:22Speaker 1: money for five dollars every Sunday talent will. And then
- 58:26Speaker 1: you meet a young Mike Epps, a young Kevin Hurt
- 58:29Speaker 1: who was just starting out, a young Morgan, and these
- 58:32Speaker 1: people became my friends. So I'm like, Oprah, I have
- 58:35Speaker 1: a moment. I'm about to be the business to the starver.
- 58:39Speaker 1: I don't really have a office yet, but I put
- 58:42Speaker 1: it on the business start and then I am the
- 58:44Speaker 1: business to the size. And when I interrupted the dinner
- 58:47Speaker 1: of one I time. His name was Isaac Cay and
- 58:51Speaker 1: Puffy's restaurant, and I told him that I was a dentist.
- 58:54Speaker 1: I interrupted his dis His general said, I'm a dentist.
- 58:58Speaker 1: If you don't have anybody to work on you and
- 59:00Speaker 1: be your dentist, I would love to be your dentist.
- 59:02Speaker 1: And he looked at me and he told me to
- 59:04Speaker 1: sit down and have dinner with him. And that was
- 59:07Speaker 1: the best move ever. He became my first celebrity client
- 59:11Speaker 1: and I took off from there. He gave me his
- 59:14Speaker 1: mailing list, he took me to the Grammys, to the
- 59:16Speaker 1: I Could Poke, a Black Film Festival, started introducing me
- 59:19Speaker 1: to people, and when I found the space on fifty
- 59:22Speaker 1: seven Street and it all just came together. Well, I
- 59:26Speaker 1: think I love about your story is secondly is that you.
- 59:31Speaker 1: It's something about the word dentists that they they're supposed
- 59:34Speaker 1: to look a certain way. Okay, we sposed address a
- 59:37Speaker 1: certain way, and they're supposed to I wants used the
- 59:40Speaker 1: word act, but you know, but you you you are
- 59:44Speaker 1: just a regular person. And that's what I think threw
- 59:46Speaker 1: everybody off, you know. You know then it's not supposed
- 59:50Speaker 1: to be a member of a sorority. You know what
- 59:51Speaker 1: I'm saying that it's not supposed to be African America.
- 59:53Speaker 1: That's what you don't see on TV, That's what you
- 59:55Speaker 1: don't traditional value. So so I feel you used that
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: to your advantage, that unique and that that that's why everybody,
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: you know, you immediately got everybody's a tick you when
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: you told him you was a dentist. Huh exactly. And
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: at the time, like I didn't look out, I probably
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: look like I was still look young man, you look great, right,
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: thank you. When so when Isaac saw me and I'm
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: interrupting his dinner talking about I'm a dentist, he was like,
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: I gotta and understand who this lady is. He tried
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: to calculate years, you know, he trying to go, Okay,
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: you gotta go four years and then another four years
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: to get your teeth approved. Okay, where is she? What
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: is this this? What is this young woman to apply? Because
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: she you know, when you when you when you're ask me,
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: because I asked people to sit down to when they
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: when they come to me with incredible stories, I go, Okay,
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: what you're not gonna do is trick me out. Okay,
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: just pass this car and walk off like I'm some
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: Willie Foo food. And so so that was important that
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: you did that because that allowed you to align yourself
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: with what, guess what a leg a legend. You know,
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: that makes me an hour to make the decision to
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: interest his dinner. But for me, even to this day,
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: people are people and everybody needs a dentist. Everybody has tea.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: So you never know who will need your services. You
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: never know who will get that opportunity. I was just
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: taking a chance and I took the courage to to
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: go up to him and it worked. Okay, let's let's
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: let's talk about a couple of awards as you've gotten here,
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: because I think it's important because you know you can
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: do Once you start hanging out with celebrities are doing,
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: you can get caught up in that hype. You know,
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: did you just you know you're not really that good?
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: Usually great relationships. Well in you were voted top twenty
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: five women in Dentistry list. Yes, yes, such a great honor. Um.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: I you know, for me, I always try to think
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: outside to box so and be a trailblazers. So over
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: my you is. I became the first person to incorporate
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: HIV testing in my gentle office. So when you come
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: for just routine checkup and cleaning, you get that swath
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: in your mouth, walk out and know your results. I
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: have right now working with getting the information about the
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: connection between diabetes and oral health because diabetics is actually
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: this much as National Diabetes funth um fin us with
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: up my next book on the relationship and the important
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: links between diabetes and oral health. So I'm always out
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: there really trying to find different ways to elevate my
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: career and elevate the people's knowledge. Just like Hill Harper
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: was on talking about carcinogens and our product. We we
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: have to educate our people. So I always try to
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: be a leader and be on top of the game
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: and just bring you guys to information because health is wealth,
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: and without your health you have nothing else. You can't
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: go to work, you can't take care of the kids,
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: you can't do all of those things. And the mouth
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: gets overlooked a lot. So that's my journey. I'm gonna
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: keep pounding at it. I hope to get more awards
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: and the award worthy because I'm in this to be
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: like the doctor Odds of Dentistry. Come on now, doctor
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: os on TV? Now does that mean you on TV?
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: You need to see my face on TV? Back you go.
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: I love it. I love it because guess what. You
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: have the cash you have to you know you you
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: know joke, you got the awards, you have to clienteles.
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: That's the next step for you. Because I'm gonna tell
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: you something and you know this, you know this, and
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: then you know you have a you're an attractive young lady. Okay,
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: you have a personality. Okay, we know you got good teeth. Okay,
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: we know that got good teach. People talk about my
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: gap like I'm not you know, like I'm imperfect. But okay,
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: now Michael straighthand okay, we can just stop talking. Okay,
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: Michael straighthand making a lot of money and that's part
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: of his logo. Now that's part of his brain now,
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: that gap. So and because because you can't allow what
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: other people per seve as flaws. You know, don't don't look,
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: you know, people consider being black and flaw. You know
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: what I'm saying. And you just gotta be in a
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: position to understand and value yourself and make yourself worthy worthy.
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: And that's what I love about your story because of
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: the fact that Flip Michigan didn't stop you. Coming home
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: to New York with a hundred thousand dollars in debt,
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: didn't stop you walking up to strangers selling yourself, didn't
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: stop you. You have the courage. What do I say?
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: How do I start this conversation? What if he tells me?
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: Know what if I get embarrassed? All those all those
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: doors you walk through and you continue to walk through.
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: And that's why it's important you know that you're a spokesperson,
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: a brand spokeperson for Covie. These look I gotta I
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: gotta put that out there when I'm talking to you,
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: because I gotta let people know there's people are like Colgate.
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: Don't tie them else too, rudy poop. Let's gonna use
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: the word rudy poop. Okay, they tied themselves to people
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: who are identified and game changers, decision makers and create engagement,
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: and that is what you do. We're gonna be right
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: back for more from the here. Okay, she's the dentist
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: of the stars. Okay, that's gonna be the chill big
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: in that rope. She in New York City, straight out
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: of Flint, Michigan. We're going back with more from Dr Turner,
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: more money, make conversation to be right back out. All right,
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: we'll Sean McDonald. I'm back on the arrow, Dr Turner. Doc.
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: How you doing? Oh? Dr Austin, Yeah, Dr Austin, apologize.
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: I'm gonna ad with Dr Austin. I don't know where
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: I got that Doctor Turner from cool. Accept my apologize
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: because I said Dr Turner. I went off the air too.
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: I'm sorry, Dr Austin. Um, let's let's talk about you,
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: you know, in your career and what you're trying to do.
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: You know, first of all, your inspiration to women, let's
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: don't get that out the way. Your inspiration to your sorority,
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: let's get that out of the way. So what what
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: when you when you when you're an inspiration or motivating
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: figure or mentor how does that allow you to be
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: who you are? And then and then it's then they
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: represent the brand that you built. You know, I try
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: to be as authentic as as possible, Um, because I
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: have competitors that project themselves that they are, you know,
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: this certain level, and they only fly private, I projected.
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: I am I am Katris Austin, just regular person, but
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: I have a message in a service to get to you. Um.
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: So the best thing that I can do for anybody
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: that I'm trying to help as a mentor is just
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: to be as authentic as possible, because that's aught like, oh,
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: I can't I don't even know how to be fair
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: uh um um. And I I just recently spoke at
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: Savannah State University to uh some pre dental students, and
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: I realized that there are so many people. It's the
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: students that have goals and they don't have the answers
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: that I have to. Like, my humission right now is
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: to pull more up because I'm getting old. You know,
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: I don't getting older and I'm not gonna be one
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: of those distances eighty years old still going to the
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: office because I need. I need to pull more people up.
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: So I'm trying to make fig that I'm healthy, that
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: I say abreast of what's new so I can pass
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: it on and have the next Queen of Smiles, Kings
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: of Smiles or whatever h they brand themselves to be
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: in the industry, so that I'm not the last one. Well,
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: that's important to say that though. That's important to say
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: that because of the fact that you create your legacy.
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: Now your legacy and you and your journey, and a
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: lot of people understand how important that is it is. Um.
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: Steve Harvey says something like on Oprah, he wont his
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: grandchildren's grandchildren to know his name, and I want that
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: same thing. I want everybody to know something about Katrise
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: Austin and what she did for the dental industry. And
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: still during the day. Let me ask you this. A
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: couple of things that are real popular now. Teeth whitening,
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: oh number one, number one requested cosnetic enhancement procedure in
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: my office. Very easy to do. Um it is generally
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: safe as long as you don't have gum disease and cavities. Um.
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: It's done in as quickly as an hour in our office.
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: Um Uh. You can get up to six to eight
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: shades whider. So you can literally do this on your
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: lunch period. I tell you one hour and you will
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: walk out the door with wider teeth. Um. Now. I
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: talked about this in my book called Get Smiled, which
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: is on Amazon. Not everybody is a candidate for a whitening.
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: So I highly recommend that you go in and get
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: a consultation and the teeth whitening analysis to make sure
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: your teeth will take to the whitening process. What do
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: you mean when you say that? What do you mean
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: with you? I don't want to give one of your book,
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: But what do you mean when you say that? Um? No, no,
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: So there's certain colors of teeth. Not if your teeth
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: have a grayish tone to us, a dark brown tone
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: to it, it's not gonna really whiten to the whitest potential.
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: It's their teeth are pure yellow color or off white color.
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: Then those they're the teeth that are most likely to
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: get very very bright. So sometimes people get mad, they
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: do whitening and then you don't see very much results
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: because your teeth were not the best type of candidate
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: for whitening. But you can't tell them that. Though you
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: can't tell them that, oh well they I can't. I
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: would have to do is tell you the truth where
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: whitening doesn't work. That's where you get the porcels veneers,
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: which is what all the celebrities get because you're actually
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: placing coorsemen over the front of the teeth, and that
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: can map those darker stains and you can really get
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: the whitest of the whitest teeth. As you see some
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: of the celebrities go over the top with it, I know,
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: yeah too white white. I'm not gonna call out no names,
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: but I'll be going like because I know him. You know, dude, yeah,
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: your teeth are really white. Now, if you got an
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: album coming out, a movie coming out, and you need
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: your teeth to be right, then it's okay. But for
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: the average person that comes to my office, I try
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: to guide you on western was natural, and that's what
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: I pride myself on as a cosmetic dentistry vent. I
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: want your teeth to look natural when we do the
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: cosmetic dentistry. Otherwise it's not cosmetic. No, let me ask
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: you this. Because it's so popular. I hear commercials now
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: on the radio. Now encourage people, come on in, get you,
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: we got the we got we put the bling on
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: your on your teeth, now make them white, bling, bling,
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: bling it and so so everything kind of happens like that,
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: you know, get everything gets in rhythm. You know. It's like,
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: I'm gonna be honest. When I was growing up, boy,
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: having a gold front teeth tooth boy, that was with
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: a star on it. That was the that was the
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: that was the thing. That gold back tooth or something
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: like that, or gold feeling. That was the craze. Now
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: the craze is white teeth. What did the system change
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: or did the new new, new new chemicals came out
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: they were friendly. What made this sudden search for to
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: be able to be promote and start branding that you
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: can make people's teeth wider and an affordable time frame? Well,
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: I think that um people realize that your teeth age
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: as you age is one of the easiest things that
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: you can do to make yourself look younger. So everybody's
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: certainly searching for that fountain of youth and having the
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: wider smile is one of the quickest things that you
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: could do to make your make your facial appearance with
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: brighter and youthful. Yeah, and so now people are realizing
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: the power of a smile can help you move on
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: in your career and get promotion to you know, people,
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: one of the first things that people will notice about you,
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: it's you smile. Especially with the internet and profile pictures,
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: you're getting judged on your appearance, and your smile has
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: a big, big, big thing that you do with that.
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: So now people are paying more our attention on the smile.
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: And uh so this last year has been incredible because
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: I had the opportunity to change the smile of the
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: how to stick in the game. Cardi B. Sirens going off.
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: I think you're just bragging. You're just bragging. Did you did?
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: You are the true dentist to the star. You got
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: them young and old. You know what I'm saying. The
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: thing about her is her her story was so incredible
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: because you we all have all witnessed her transformation from
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: being a reality star to a list on the cover
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: of Rolling Song, and I would see that smile was
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: a big part of her transformation. Um So they about
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: to say, you don't have to be a star. You
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: can do little things like teeth writening your too. So
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: let's let's name of a couple of more another couple
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: of a a lot of your stars you have on your roster.
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: Anthony Anderson, d J colleague, Yeah, common we just talked
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: about Cardi B. You just talked about her. Um buster rhymes,
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: no buster JB smooth, Karina smelled off. Wendy Williams know
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: her car banks Now because you have so many celebrities,
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: how does that work when they come to your offer?
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: Do you have a side door, back door, escape door?
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: Because you know these people bring a crowd with them.
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: You know they can walk in your office. Is somebody
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: his social media and it's and it's a crowd waiting
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: now when they walk out the door. How does how
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: do you protect your client, your celebrity clients and also
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: protect your everyday clients because you don't want to feel
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: like they feel like they secondary or they feel they
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: gotta wait of a celebrity walking, they got to go
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: back to the back of the line. That's a balance
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: in act for you. Correct it is um you know,
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: I customize it to the patient's preference. Somebody like Anthony Anderson,
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: uh In, philp Cardi b will walk in common. They
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: don't care. They are just so regular that they come
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: during normal business hours and they talk with the people
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: if they feel like talking, and they don't mind coming
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: during regular business hours. Now they're callid and the bus
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: the rhymes think my office hours started three am and
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: that's when they come and I get up out of
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: the bed and they go to the office and I
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: see them after they leave the studio. They prefer privacy,
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: So I got uhh, I have different things. I I
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: basically have twenty four hours office hours for the celeb
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: so a lot of times they come in on office periods.
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: Put a lot of them come in during regular time. Okay, cool,
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: it's called out a couple of things. V IP Smiles
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: and Queen of Smiles. Those are two of you. Those
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: are two of your brands. Correct? Could I say that? Yeah? Okay? Cool?
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: Why are Why are they so important to you? We
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: know what? Um? No matter where I go, UM those
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: brands and the Queen of Smiles is trademark, So no
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: matter where I'm working, where I go, you will know
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: that I am that brand. And the branding is so
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: important because it will forever be a mark on who
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: I am and what I stand for and the services
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: I render and my philosophy on health. Uh is all.
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: The Queen of Smiles and v I two Smiles was
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: the first company that I started in nineties six, and
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: I changed the name to New York City Cosmetic in
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: General Dentistry and then I just bold that business in August. UM.
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: So I am of I am UM forever. I think
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: branding is the most important thing that you can do.
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: I don't care if you don't own your own company.
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: Within whatever company you work for, work on your brand,
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: on who you are. So if you ever leave that
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: company that you people know your brand, you could walk
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: away with it. You can sell that couple. But but
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: Dr Austin is walking with you. You can't duplicate me.
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: You can't duplicate my brand. And that's important that you
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: say that, because I talked to people about branding and
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: marketing all the time, that that's important that you know,
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: you know a difference. It's like fensance, you know, because
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: we brought up Steve Harvey, named Steven so on so
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: many different TV shows. But people are watching Steve Harvey,
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: they're watching him, right, is the brand, He's the brand.
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: And so with that being said, because we keep going
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: back to TV with you, young lady, we keep going
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: back to TV. You know you so so, so what
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: type of what type of TV do you do you
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: envision yourself being a part of. Let's go and get
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: that out. When people see your TV, they're gonna I
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: heard I said that don't reshan money, make conversation. Yes,
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: So what I envisioned is me doing what I do.
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: I'm not gonna be on TV fighting with girlfriends who
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: knocking somebody tooth out and then putting it right back in. Nope.
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: I do on my YouTube page what's called smile Stories,
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: where I video tape UM from start to finish, the
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: stories of some of my patients that come in, the
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: everyday person, not the celebrities, UM, the everyday person, the
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: mother for the the Spelman student that flew in from
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: Atlanta to get her teeth done because she wants to
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: be ready to be a lawyer. You know she can't
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: in that courtroom, but messed up teeth. I have those
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: kinds of smile stories, the gifts of a daughter giving
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: her mother a birthday gift to change or smile because
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: she didn't feel confident. I want to show those stories
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: on TV. Can I share some of those stories? Can
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: I share something on my Facebook page? Yes? Yes, I
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: would love that because those are because you know, I'm
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: always looking for, you know, the shaming stories of people
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: I don't even know. You know, these good these good
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: human your story. That's what that is. This is a
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: human interest store. And if you're doing that, I don't
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: and I can help your brand. Let it allow me
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: to do that. Okay, yeah, and so don't what happens
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: with those stories. The everyday hired working person gets inspired
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: because they see that I work with celebrities. But then
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: you can see that I work with just as the
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: World Trade Center security guards that every You don't have
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: to have a lot of money. There's ways that you
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: can finance it, and if there's a will, there's a way.
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: I've had a college student says for his veneers on
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: his own, So there's ways that you can do it.
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: And I get lots of emails and d ms of
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: people who don't feel confident and who want to make
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: a change, and so that's what I'm here for. And
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: I want to share those stories on TV and Young Lady,
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: and if God willing, I want to help you, I
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: will be honestly tell you that that's what I do
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: for a living. And if I can just advise you,
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: if that's what our relationships are gonna be, I'm willing
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: to do that too. Consider myself a friend. I'll send
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: those U send those videos to me so I can
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: post them because uh, you know, you know, I feel
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: blessed with my life and I feel that's a clear
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: understanding that we are connecting in a positive way and
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: keep doing what you're doing, and you're changing with your
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: show as well. So it's um. You know, the work
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: that we do is super important, and I'm blessed to
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: be in this position and you're blessed in your position.
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: So let's make good on it. There you go, Dr Austin.
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: I won't ever get that name mistaken again. You go.
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: You have a great day. Send me those videos and
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: thank you for coming on Money making Conversations. Okay, I
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: appreciate you. Smile and smile for the camera. Shot, smile
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: for the camera. All right, boy, that was awesome, go back,
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: close out the show. My man, Honey Jones, he's a
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: realistance man. More money make a conversation. I'll be right back.
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: Appreciate you. Thank you by Bob Boom boom. Come on now,
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: I got him on the line. When you got important
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: people on the line, you gotta bring him right up.
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: Let me introduce this brother. He's an entrepreneur, investor, philanthropists, artists, activists,
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: Arthur host and a former NFL linebacker. Please welcome to
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: money making Conversations. Ye honey, Joe what's going on? Come
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: on now, I'm gonna tell you the first of all,
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: let me get this out the way. I'm a fan
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: of yours, my brother, I'm a fan of yours. I've
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: been following that hall. That hall. That's just your f
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: on your brand man, the boat tie and the boat tie,
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: trying to keep the hair. Brother, Well, you know, I
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: ain't got no had to keep. I have no hair
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: to keep, So I'm a fan of you have. But
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: then how man you think? You say you want me
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: to cut some of my hair so you can have
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: some of my hair? Oh no, oh no, brother, you
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: keep that look you you're a handsome guy. I just
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: know that God made me this way. God gave you
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: some extra values in your hair. You know you it's springy.
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: You got the bow tie, you have read. I want
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: you on there because you are a brand man, and
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: we're gonna get to every other other things. But you
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: established yourself as a brand the very first day you
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: came into the NFL. You knew exactly who you were.
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: How is that? How? How did you figure it out?
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: And how? And then it just extended and you just
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: built who you are, which is a renaissance man. Well,
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: you know, I think that who you are is determined
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: by the experiences, um that you've gone through and the
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: people that that sort of accentuate the moments that you have, right,
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: And I think I've very fortunate to have two wonderful
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: parents that have around the world. They both we're in
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: the military still in celebration of Veterans Day, you know,
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: I'd like to take my mom's Jones and my dad
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: Samuel Jones. And so I think that's at the stage
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: or um, my my life, my life plan, as you will.
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: But I think that the life plan, as I've said before,
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: with the in funds of people that are around you,
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: with the butt of the experiences, kind of allows that
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: to evolve. So like I didn't, I didn't know who
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: I was becoming. All I knew is that I was
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: surrounded by great people that allowed me an opportunity to
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: see different things and hear different things and be different
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: ways which allowed me to experience different things, which sort
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: of changed my outlook on life. And I would say
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: from the from the bow time perspective, that was really
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: just my my good friend to little John who just
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: allowed me to understand the power of the bow tie.
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: And if I culminate the two and sort of put
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: them together then created a magnificent m magnificent life. And
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: I'm very blessed and honored to sort of be traveling
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: this path and and allow other brothers young and old,
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: sisters young and old to sort of come along this journey,
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: which I'm so fortunate to be a part of us.
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: Now you grew up now because we got to talk
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: about this boat tie a little bit, because I feel
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: it's important because a lot of people, you know, uh,
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: you know, a shy away from standing up for who
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: they really are because you grew up in the hip
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: hop era, and we know the hip hop era sagging page.
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: We know that. You know, it's kind of like I
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: went to that phase. I had my parents kids to
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: add my MPT hammer pants back in the day. Oh
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: you dropped him back with the boat Town. Come on,
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: Mr Jones r R. That was that was my high
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: school phase. The boat I didn't episode, so I got
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: to uh NFL. That was really a rookie year, right,
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: absolutely understand the power of that bow tie. So yeah,
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: so the both ties and and kids pads were definitely
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: not in the same time. Friend life so so so
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: so you will still finding yourself and and and and
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: and right now, because I'll just leads to the reason
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: I say you're so interesting to me because you we're
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: gonna talk about all the different shows you do, and
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: then the worldliness of activities you do in investments and
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: things like that, because because it seems like you just
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: you allow yourself to experience the journey to the fullest
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: when it happens to you, you don't, you don't steer
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: it away from it, and and my credit, you have
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: to do. I think a lot of times people shut
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: down the notion of saying yes because they're afraid of
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: what that opportunity to might open themselves up to. Right
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: It's about exposing yourself and being vulnerable to what's out there.
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: And I think that it's unfortunately when we're when we're
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: young children, so we're open to so much more Older
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: and we close down some more things. But if the
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: opportunities are more plentiful because we have more relationships that
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: allow for them to happen. So I'm always of the
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: opinion that as you get older, you should say yes
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: more often times in order to sort of shape a
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: little bit more and allow that idea that you've had
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: for a long period of time to crystallize and then
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: start saying no once you've been able to identify. Because
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: us as people, we will find ourselves multiple times during
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: the journey of life. It doesn't necessarily happen and one
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: fell swoop. Something might happen in your life. Dramatic, you
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: mean a lot of different things. You know, I, You know,
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: you could go from you know, being on his track
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: to being a pdtrac neuro classic surgeon, of which I was,
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: and then all of a sudden you get drafted, so
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: you go into a new track. You play in the NFL,
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: and then all of a sudden you start doing more
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: things in television and working things in business, and then
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: that's a new dramatic um sort of time in your life.
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: And then you go from that and then doing other things.
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: You have several different occurrences that shape different opportunities of
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: your life. So keep saying yes, allow those crystallized to
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: the point where then therefore you say no and allow
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: those reasons of opportunity to come from different direction and
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: really move towards them, don't move away from them. It's
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: so because you know you've you've lived a life of
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: the nine stereotypes of being a part of your brain.
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: You know, as an African American, we only supposed to
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: do certain things. As an athlete, you're only supposed to
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: be doing certain things. And then you had to investments,
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: you hosting show, you articulate, you, you know, all these things.
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: I say these things to explain to the audience. How
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: are you able to overcome in the stereotypes? I guess
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: I should say that, how have you been able at
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: each level of the way. How do you do that?
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: I think number one, it's about acknowledging what the stereotypes
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: are and then sort of ingesting them and realizing, you know,
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: the taste and the flavor and the texture of them.
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: And then once you are able to sort of fully
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: sort of comprehend that of what your up against, now
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: you decisively decide how you was to attack them right.
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: And some some people consider attack these stereotypes with sort
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: of a non salant attitude, where it doesn't you know,
- 1:27:59Speaker 1: does it really matter? I just kind of go and
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: do my thing. Other people are a little bit more
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: strategic in the way they go about doing it. And
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: then something have a hybrid of a little bit of both,
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: and I think from for me. You know, when I
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: got to the University of Michigan, that really set the
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: stage for a lot of different things, and I had
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: to make a lot of tough choices. I mean, I
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: almost got kicked out my first day because I was
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: arguing with the coach and I was arguing with the
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: leadership on the team. So I decided, right, okay, maybe
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: I won't argue. Maybe right, So you've become a better player,
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: you get more, you get more kudos, and therefore you
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: get more leadership. Therefore you make more decisions. They have
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: to be a little bit strategic and at the same
- 1:28:34Speaker 1: time a little bit nonchalant and kind of find which
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: balance of which makes more sense for you because it's
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: it's it's more did you say that because of the
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: fact that a lot of people stand up at the
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: wrong time. You know, everything's timing. You know. It's like
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: I can I can tell you certain situations where I've
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: opened my mouth at the wrong time and I understands,
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: not fully understands, they don't want to do that, not
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: fully understanding why opening my mouth? You know what I'm saying,
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: just just just wanna just want to I want to
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: set the record straight with that, setting the record straight
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: cost me an opportunity in my life. And I think
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: I feel that when I run into an individual like you,
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: who was so diverse with your lifestyle, so diverse with
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: your opportunities, that when you say that statement about look,
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: when I got to Michigan, I kind of ran my
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: mouth for a little bit too much, but I checked myself.
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: I stepped back, you know, and and and and a
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: lot of people don't step back because some false pride
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: or don't want to look bad. And that's why a
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: lot of people in jail because they didn't step back.
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: That's why a lot of people in situations and investments
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: are a lot of people in the homeless homeless because
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: of fact they didn't step back and evaluate what they're
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: about to do with their next decision. And you did
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: that at such a young age, though, Mr Jones. See,
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: stop acting like you regular people, Mr Jones, because you're not.
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: But I told him, puts on just like everybody else.
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: You know one l No, No, I'm sorry, I'm sorry
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: you my brother, You're special. And I'm gonna say that
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: because because because you're stand I'm saying because see, because
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: you know, when you grow up in life, man, we
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: all make decisions. I always tell people this. We all
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: have the same decision making opportunities. Yes, there's some geniuses
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: out there. I got that. I got that, but but
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: in general we all are intelligent people. God gives us
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: a shock, okay. But then the special people like you man,
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: who get it, who get it, who make decisions, become
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: natural leaders, becoming a natural activists, who become naturally engaged
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: in the process. And I always want to talk to
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: you because because I think because it's so natural to
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: you and you're so humble that you that you want
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: to act like I'm regular put you know, going back
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: through You're like everybody else. I'll put the parts on
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: one four day at a time. You're like everybody else.
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: Are you my food? My food was a food and
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: funk just like everybody else. And that's not true, sir,
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: and and I think that value, if anything you take
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: away from me on this show is that I admire
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: you for who you are, and I admire the themes
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: and the attributes that you bring to your life and
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: everybody's life every day. You know, that thing I asked
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: is to let everybody know that you they can do
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: this too. And you do that as well, because that's
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: part of your your DNA, that's all I think. That's
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: also that's also part of my my mission at the
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: end of the day, right, and it's are you doing
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: this for yourself? Are you? Are you doing this for others?
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: Are you you know who? And what are the prime
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: motivating factors behind it? And you know, I was funny.
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: I was talking to one of my friends the other
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: day and we were we were kind of talking about
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: different songs that were out there, daving songs. Talking about
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: legacy actually meant a lot to me, right, talking about
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: you know how other black men and women need to
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: make sure that we are creating that legacy so we
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: can pass that down to us has a different level
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: and the roller reponsibility in that and that plan. So
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: everything that I did is not only for my family,
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: but also for those that are coming behind so that
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: they can be a part of the whole moving forward.
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: My man, We're gonna be right back and talk about
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: one of my favorite shows, did you do that? Adventure Capitalists?
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: That crazy show that you'd be doing out there, man,
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: is so cool and so entertaining to me. We're gonna
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: be right back with more, Mr Jones. I'm calling Mr
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: Jones on my show because he's a renaissance man. More
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: money making conversation. Be right back, Hi, I'm back with
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: Mr Jones. What's up, my brother? He man, Um, let's
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: talk about this show, Adventure Capitalists. Okay, this is kind
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: of like because y'all actually participate in the in the process. Correct,
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: That's what I like about this show. This is kind
- 1:32:57Speaker 1: of like. This is kind of like the Shark Tank
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: on sterile, right, Shark Tank on steris that's the entertaining look.
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: I love. I love everybody in the Shark Tank. I
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: love bunching Cuban. I love watching you know all these
- 1:33:11Speaker 1: Hersiebeck and all those guys Laurie and and do their thing. Barbara, right,
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: But what they won't do. They won't get into degree water.
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: What they want to do and jump into a brand
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: new motorcycle and jump off a jump, they won't do.
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: They won't try some brand new give her gloves and
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: put it into a fire, right, their hands won't get
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: set on fire. That's what That's what I do. That's
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: what we do. That's what Jeremy, f Sean and and
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: all of us do on the show. And we have
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: a really good time doing it. Sort of it's a
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: part of the experience because we think that, you know,
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: when it comes to you know, doing investments, you gotta
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: have you gotta have hands on, hands on the whole
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: body do it. I love it because because you know,
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: because I you know, both for both of these NBC shows,
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: and so I like the fact that you know, when
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: they try to do something, try on some gloves and trousers,
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: you know, then athletic side of them just pops off,
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: just screams, put your back down. Ship, that's not what
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: you do. Sit back down. But on your show, you
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, you go, okay, you know you
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: shouldn't put on those skates. You know, Mark Cuban, you
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: should not put on those skates. Something bad is about
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: to happen to you, brother and so but not. But
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: but I know that it's so much that's part of
- 1:34:30Speaker 1: the show's uh popularity to me, you know, it's like,
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: you know, like I'm I'm I'm a fan of the
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: fact that you know, and it's also kind of like
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: got that little disaster part of you know, something can
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: go wrong. Part of it is also in the back
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: of my head too. Is that a bad value to
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: have that you know, y'all might bust y'all, but type no,
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: I think that's I think that's a funny part of
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: the show, right, And I think you know, we're going
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: to the episodes at eleven PM and we'll talk about
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: you know, Len's bikes, and there's a part of that
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: where you will see Jeremy and myself and Sean just
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: to get a little bit out of control. You know, products,
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: products that are new to us, that are also new
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: to those that are watching, and also developed by the
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: entrepreneurs sometimes don't have some safety precautions built into it,
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: and those are the chances that we take as entrepreneurs.
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: So just as much as we're risking on the capital,
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: were also risking some of our health and wellness as
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: there is you know, trying to trying to find the
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: best deals. So you know, I'm I'm really excited about
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: the episode that's come up tomorrow, but I've been excited
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: about all the episodes that we that we've had because
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: you know, there's a little something for everybody, whether it's
- 1:35:45Speaker 1: motor tracks, which is a additive piece that goes on
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: a motorcycle, or you know, if you beach right, right,
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: So this all kinds of stuff. I mean, fall Kicker
- 1:35:57Speaker 1: was great. I mean, for those out there that are
- 1:35:59Speaker 1: snow glinting, do you want to have a product that
- 1:36:01Speaker 1: keeps your legs clear? You know, every everybody that goes storkling. Um,
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: you know the worst thing that happens your lens fads though,
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: So you want to have that fat kicker? Right. All
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: these products that we have have different angles and have
- 1:36:15Speaker 1: different ways, and we're just trying to maximize opportunity by
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: being able to sort of expose ourselves to the entire product. Okay,
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: let me, I gotta ask you this, Mr Jones. Okay,
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: like I I watched Naked and Afraid. You're negative Afraid.
- 1:36:28Speaker 1: That's one of my favorite shows, you know, you know,
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: and and the Neck and and Afraid. They you know,
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: they act like they in the woods and when some
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: go wrong, here comes this producer out of the woods. Everybody,
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: all right, okay, let me take you to ever take
- 1:36:40Speaker 1: your temperature. We've got to take you off now, y'all
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: like that doing all these crazy things. Okay, where is
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: the ambulance truck had? And where the doctors? We don't
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: have anything. We're athletes. Come on, come on, come on,
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: and not the football league. And he wasn't Olympian for
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: no reasons. Don was an Olympian for no for no reason.
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: I wasn't an NFL player, And I didn't travel around
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: the world playing sports on every single continent for no
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: No doctor on the sidelines with his own phone. Nothing. Yeah,
- 1:37:13Speaker 1: you know, we got a band aid just like everybody else.
- 1:37:18Speaker 1: We got a little bitty box with the band aids,
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: and we might have some some some cold freeze. Something
- 1:37:26Speaker 1: gets but we have a timeline online, so so we're
- 1:37:31Speaker 1: out there pushing the products to the limit, and sometimes
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: things talk it to us. That's a part of the show.
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: If something gets touched, we band aided up. If we
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: get back up, if we start to drown, you better
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: swim your way back home. You know, there's there's there's
- 1:37:46Speaker 1: precautions obviously that are put in place, but for the
- 1:37:48Speaker 1: most part, we're out there on our own accord because
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: we are trusting the entrepreneur with the product. Therefore, we
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: might invest in to create an opportunity not on custom
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: for them, but also for the community to be able
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: with the purchase at a later date, and that the
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: and that's that's let me ask you this so and
- 1:38:04Speaker 1: and and putting this show together. And because do you
- 1:38:08Speaker 1: guys get a chance to pick the products for this
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: show or they just say these are the products we're
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: going to do in the show and y'all just familiarize
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: yourself with it. How does that work? No, there's there's
- 1:38:18Speaker 1: a handful of people that are part of the process.
- 1:38:21Speaker 1: Whether it's the producers of the show, whether it's the network, um,
- 1:38:24Speaker 1: whether it's us as the investors. UM. I think all
- 1:38:28Speaker 1: three of us coming together to be able to sort
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: of identify really good products that are all successible. Right,
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: because the show doesn't work if the products don't work, right, Um,
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: Just like in chart, the show does not work if
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: the products don't work. You want to be able to
- 1:38:43Speaker 1: imagine this product and also see this product come to
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: full fruition so that the product becomes something that the
- 1:38:50Speaker 1: American Dream has built a products but but you know,
- 1:38:53Speaker 1: has become more successful as a result of creating it,
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: and that we have invested. Therefore, more people would come
- 1:38:59Speaker 1: back to the show to showcase their products. Nobody wants
- 1:39:01Speaker 1: to hang out with some investors that having created products
- 1:39:04Speaker 1: that are successful success free success. But but but you
- 1:39:08Speaker 1: have to admit that your show is different than Shark
- 1:39:11Speaker 1: Tag because it's a physicality tattoo it, you know, it's
- 1:39:15Speaker 1: it's definitely a lot different the charteg. I think the
- 1:39:17Speaker 1: guiding principles of any show, especially our show, is about
- 1:39:22Speaker 1: people realizing the American dream. Right. You can come up
- 1:39:24Speaker 1: with an idea, you can find an issue, you can
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: solve to the issue. Someone can have a belief and
- 1:39:30Speaker 1: confidence in you that you've created something that is solved
- 1:39:33Speaker 1: that issue, and they can invest in it, and therefore
- 1:39:36Speaker 1: they're investing in something that you can therefore build out
- 1:39:39Speaker 1: and other people purchase it, and therefore you become wealthy
- 1:39:42Speaker 1: because of it, and other people have sort of fun
- 1:39:46Speaker 1: utilizing their products or buying into the product, and then
- 1:39:49Speaker 1: they're able to think the same thing. So we want
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: to make sure that the products that we have on
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: the show that are inherently put forward, put forth by
- 1:39:57Speaker 1: the investors and by the network and by the producers,
- 1:40:00Speaker 1: that people will actually see and that will win my
- 1:40:03Speaker 1: man telling what time the show come on tomorrow night
- 1:40:05Speaker 1: at eleven o'clock as eastern, right, yep, eleven o'clock eastern
- 1:40:09Speaker 1: on CNBC I'll be there. I hope you all will
- 1:40:12Speaker 1: be there too. Come on, all I gotta said is
- 1:40:14Speaker 1: this one last thing to you man. I respect you.
- 1:40:18Speaker 1: I got like three or four more shows we could
- 1:40:20Speaker 1: have talked about. So if you allow me come back
- 1:40:24Speaker 1: on my show so we can just keep breaking down.
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: I am talking to everybody talking to the Renaissance man.
- 1:40:29Speaker 1: He keeps talking like he put his pants on, just
- 1:40:31Speaker 1: like everybody else. This guy is special. I've been a
- 1:40:34Speaker 1: fan of his for so many years, and half of
- 1:40:36Speaker 1: my show is a special opportunity for me to tell
- 1:40:38Speaker 1: you thank you for being you. I appreciate it, and
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: thanks for having me on the show. All right, We'll
- 1:40:44Speaker 1: be back next week with more money making conversations. Life
- 1:40:48Speaker 1: is good, y'all, With Sean McDonald signing out, thank you.
