Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome.
- 0:01Speaker 2: It is Verdict with Senator Ted Cruz Ben Ferguson with you, Senator,
- 0:05Speaker 2: I feel like the entire show tonight we should just
- 0:07Speaker 2: scream at one another and yell in honor of the
- 0:11Speaker 2: state of the union that you just walked out of.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Are your ears okay?
- 0:15Speaker 3: Well, that they're not. I have a little bit of trauma.
- 0:18Speaker 3: It is twelve seventeen in the morning, and I just
- 0:21Speaker 3: spent a little bit over an hour sitting on the
- 0:24Speaker 3: floor of the house being yelled at by a deranged
- 0:27Speaker 3: old man.
- 0:29Speaker 4: It was an experience, and I'll.
- 0:31Speaker 3: Tell you what we're going to talk about that We're
- 0:33Speaker 3: going to break down everything that happened. But we also
- 0:36Speaker 3: have a very special feature tonight, and it is it
- 0:42Speaker 3: is a happy twist of fate because I was not
- 0:44Speaker 3: the only person in the chamber listening to that angry
- 0:49Speaker 3: old man screaming, but an unemployed podcaster and radio host
- 0:55Speaker 3: and former Marquee actor and book author turned out that
- 1:03Speaker 3: he was desperately in need of some liquor and cigars
- 1:07Speaker 3: and so sent me a text earlier tonight.
- 1:09Speaker 4: And so I'm actually.
- 1:11Speaker 3: Quite quite proud to welcome back to Verdict, my original
- 1:16Speaker 3: co host and my dear friend Michael Knowles, Michael, welcome, Welcome.
- 1:20Speaker 5: Back, Senator. It's good to be back, Ben, it's good
- 1:23Speaker 5: to be back. But you tricked me. You tricked me
- 1:26Speaker 5: because I look, you're right, what do I do? I
- 1:29Speaker 5: don't do verdict anymore. So I had a lot of
- 1:31Speaker 5: time on my hands. I sauntered down to DC said,
- 1:33Speaker 5: I got nothing better to do than listen to this
- 1:35Speaker 5: old man yell at me for three hours, however long
- 1:38Speaker 5: it took at the State of the Union. And I said,
- 1:39Speaker 5: but you know what we'll make this night totally redeemed,
- 1:43Speaker 5: is I will text my friend Senator Cruz and we'll
- 1:45Speaker 5: have a nice cigar. And you said, absolutely, Michael, come
- 1:48Speaker 5: on over and we'll have cigars. Right after we finished
- 1:51Speaker 5: the podcast, and I said, all right, you got me.
- 1:53Speaker 5: I already agreed, Okay, I'm in.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:55Speaker 2: And this is how you and this is how we
- 1:57Speaker 2: welcome you back. By the way, you went to this
- 2:01Speaker 2: thing tonight as well, which was really just an hysterical
- 2:04Speaker 2: State of the Union. If you're ever going to go
- 2:06Speaker 2: to State of the Union, there's nothing better than saying
- 2:08Speaker 2: you can remember for the rest of your life.
- 2:10Speaker 1: I was at the one that lasts an hour and.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Eight minutes, where it looked like Joe Biden might have
- 2:14Speaker 2: been on some sort of drug and was screaming and
- 2:17Speaker 2: talking very fast for at least the first forty five
- 2:20Speaker 2: minutes of the speech. Then he went back to old
- 2:22Speaker 2: Joe's stature and slowed it back down a little bit.
- 2:25Speaker 1: So you can tell your kids and grandkids about that.
- 2:27Speaker 3: Wait a second, damn, it was the time, actually an
- 2:30Speaker 3: hour and eight minutes. It was, but it was because
- 2:32Speaker 3: he talked, Hey, there's a problem. There's a problem with that,
- 2:35Speaker 3: which is Roger Marshall sent a text to a bunch
- 2:37Speaker 3: of us with all sorts of wagers, and one of
- 2:39Speaker 3: them was an over under on the length, and his
- 2:42Speaker 3: over under was seventy minutes. And I took the over, dammit,
- 2:45Speaker 3: And so I was two minutes off.
- 2:46Speaker 4: You took it.
- 2:48Speaker 5: I was betting I was just up there in the
- 2:50Speaker 5: peanut gallery, but I bet I knew he couldn't go
- 2:54Speaker 5: thirty or even under forty because it would be a
- 2:56Speaker 5: national news story. Biden can't make it. So I thought
- 2:59Speaker 5: he had to go forty five. But I felt he
- 3:02Speaker 5: couldn't go more than a minute over that. So I
- 3:04Speaker 5: had it at forty six and I he totally blew
- 3:07Speaker 5: me out of the water.
- 3:08Speaker 4: Say what you will.
- 3:09Speaker 5: It was a horrific speech, but it went a long
- 3:11Speaker 5: time and he yelled the entire time.
- 3:14Speaker 2: I said, fifty five minutes. That was what I thought.
- 3:16Speaker 2: I thought it'd be barely under an hour. But he
- 3:19Speaker 2: was late, so you know, I guess that maybe got
- 3:22Speaker 2: him a little bit more jacked up as he was late.
- 3:24Speaker 1: And is it true that he was late.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Did either of you guys see the protesters that apparently
- 3:27Speaker 2: they stopped the streets, all the pro Palastadian protesters, and
- 3:30Speaker 2: that's part of the reason why I was late.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Is that true?
- 3:32Speaker 4: I have no idea.
- 3:33Speaker 3: I know that's what people were saying, but it was strange.
- 3:37Speaker 3: I've never seen at the State of the Union where
- 3:38Speaker 3: like the President shows up thirty minutes late.
- 3:40Speaker 5: Yeah, I did not see protesters really. I mean, I
- 3:44Speaker 5: guess I was in the Capitol complex relatively early, but
- 3:48Speaker 5: I saw a handful of pro Ukraine protest And when
- 3:51Speaker 5: I say a handful, I mean like half a dozen,
- 3:53Speaker 5: and maybe some of the pro Palestine.
- 3:55Speaker 3: But you know that there were none that I saw
- 3:56Speaker 3: at the Capitol. Maybe there were at the White House. Yeah,
- 3:59Speaker 3: but they're not over at the Capitol that I saw.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Hey, when you get the doctors and they got to
- 4:04Speaker 2: get you juiced uff for your night, it may take
- 4:06Speaker 2: an extra twenty or thirty minutes. I want to break
- 4:09Speaker 2: down this and talk about some of the highlights, obviously,
- 4:12Speaker 2: and we're going to go through those, But first let
- 4:13Speaker 2: me tell you about our friends over at the International
- 4:15Speaker 2: Fellowship of Christian and Jews. We all know about the
- 4:18Speaker 2: atroses that were committed by Hamas last October seventh, and
- 4:22Speaker 2: we know right now how much pressure Israel is under
- 4:25Speaker 2: from the rest of the world to have this ceasefire.
- 4:28Speaker 2: The reality is the toll on the Israeli people is staggering.
- 4:32Speaker 1: It's massive.
- 4:33Speaker 2: There are hundreds of thousands of Israelis that have been
- 4:36Speaker 2: forced from their homes. Their entire communities are torn apart.
- 4:39Speaker 2: People are trying to go back to their homes and
- 4:41Speaker 2: they're basically gone. Lives have been devastated by death and destruction.
- 4:46Speaker 2: And that is why I want you to help right
- 4:48Speaker 2: now by getting involved with the International Fellowship of Christian
- 4:52Speaker 2: Jews IFCJ. Right now, they are doing everything they can
- 4:57Speaker 2: to help those that are in critical needs of essentials
- 5:01Speaker 2: like food, medicine, and emergency supplies for one hundreds of
- 5:04Speaker 2: thousands of suffering Jews. The need is great and that's
- 5:08Speaker 2: why we are partnering with IFCJ today. I want you
- 5:11Speaker 2: to visit support IFCJ dot org to help every donation
- 5:16Speaker 2: is needed to help the people of Israel. To give
- 5:19Speaker 2: to the International Fellowship a Christian Jews. To support IFCJ
- 5:23Speaker 2: dot org and give as generously as you can, because
- 5:26Speaker 2: your gift will be matched to double in impact and
- 5:30Speaker 2: help provide twice the support. So right now, help the
- 5:34Speaker 2: people of Israel. Go to support IFCJ dot org. That's
- 5:38Speaker 2: support IFCJ dot org center. I want to start with
- 5:43Speaker 2: the big shock for me was how he started the
- 5:46Speaker 2: State of the Union of the United States of America
- 5:49Speaker 2: dealing with we need your money, and I'm gonna yell
- 5:52Speaker 2: at you about it, and you better get me the
- 5:54Speaker 2: money because otherwise if you don't, Ukraine is going to fall,
- 5:58Speaker 2: and the rest of Europe is going to and Russia's
- 6:01Speaker 2: going to take over everything. That was really the start
- 6:04Speaker 2: of the State of the Union, because that's not the
- 6:05Speaker 2: number one issue on the minds of Americans right now.
- 6:09Speaker 3: Yeah, listen, the whole thing was bizarre. I've been to
- 6:12Speaker 3: twelve State of the Unions. This was the twelfth one.
- 6:16Speaker 3: This was by far the worst I've ever seen and
- 6:22Speaker 3: the strangest I've ever seen. So this was a campaign speech,
- 6:26Speaker 3: but it was an exceptionally bad campaign speech. So Biden
- 6:30Speaker 3: was angry, he was bitter, he was screaming, he was extreme,
- 6:37Speaker 3: and he was completely out of touch. The entire speech
- 6:40Speaker 3: reminded me of a grumpy old man standing on his
- 6:43Speaker 3: front porch screaming at the kids.
- 6:45Speaker 4: Get off my front lawn. It was very odd.
- 6:49Speaker 5: I wanted your perspective on it, because You've been to
- 6:52Speaker 5: so many of these now and I couldn't tell. Maybe
- 6:55Speaker 5: it's just my first one and I didn't know. It
- 6:58Speaker 5: did seem much angry, but there was something hollow about it,
- 7:02Speaker 5: like as if he thought to prove that I'm alive,
- 7:05Speaker 5: I have to be yelling the whole time. But but
- 7:08Speaker 5: what was so odd was he was yelling and slurring
- 7:11Speaker 5: his words, and it was the cadence was off, like
- 7:14Speaker 5: it just seemed like, I don't know, a bad theatrical
- 7:18Speaker 5: performance or something.
- 7:20Speaker 3: It is also interesting in that it reveals the political
- 7:24Speaker 3: strategy of the political White House for this election, which
- 7:27Speaker 3: is there were zero nods to the middle. This speech
- 7:33Speaker 3: said Republicans across America, I don't want your votes, independence
- 7:38Speaker 3: across America.
- 7:39Speaker 4: I don't want your votes.
- 7:40Speaker 3: That this was an effort to woo the squad, that
- 7:44Speaker 3: this was an effort to appeal to bring back on
- 7:46Speaker 3: the reservation Elizabeth Warren. And you know, look, she's spent
- 7:50Speaker 3: a lot of time in reservation.
- 7:51Speaker 4: She knows it well.
- 7:53Speaker 3: You know, Bernie Sanders AOC and I don't know if
- 7:57Speaker 3: they're scared with the whole Hamas thing.
- 7:59Speaker 4: That they've lost the crazy he left.
- 8:01Speaker 3: But look, I can tell you one of the things
- 8:03Speaker 3: experiencing it, like I enjoy State of the Unions. They're fun,
- 8:06Speaker 3: the pageantry, it's it feels like, you know, it's a
- 8:09Speaker 3: moment of American history, and frankly, it's just pretty friggin
- 8:12Speaker 3: wild to be like sitting on the floor listening to it.
- 8:15Speaker 3: I mean, it's a neat thing almost always, and this
- 8:19Speaker 3: is true whether you have I've been there for Obama
- 8:23Speaker 3: doing it, I've been there for Trump doing it, and
- 8:24Speaker 3: I've been there for Biden doing it. Almost always, you
- 8:28Speaker 3: have multiple lines that are designed to get everyone on
- 8:30Speaker 3: their feet and it's a different experience if it's your
- 8:32Speaker 3: own party. It's like being in a Jane Fonda aerobics session.
- 8:37Speaker 3: I mean, you're just up, down, up, down, up down.
- 8:39Speaker 3: Every sentence you stand up wooh. But any president has
- 8:45Speaker 3: multiple lines that are designed to unify everyone, to bring
- 8:48Speaker 3: Congress to their feet. We're all standing together, and it
- 8:52Speaker 3: was weird. Look, I stand at the beginning in a
- 8:54Speaker 3: plaud and I will always do that because I respect
- 8:56Speaker 3: the office, even if I don't like the job Biden
- 8:59Speaker 3: is doing back the office he's holding. But then I
- 9:04Speaker 3: sat down, and for the next hour, almost all of
- 9:06Speaker 3: us stayed sitting the whole time. I do not recall
- 9:10Speaker 3: any other speech that made so little effort to garner
- 9:15Speaker 3: even a shred of support from the opposing part.
- 9:17Speaker 5: I couldn't figure out the calculus on that, because I agree,
- 9:21Speaker 5: I think maybe I think I stood up for the hostage.
- 9:25Speaker 5: We're going to bring our hostages back. I mean, that
- 9:27Speaker 5: was the one I did. I did stand up for that.
- 9:29Speaker 5: It was the hostages back, and that was it. I mean,
- 9:31Speaker 5: otherwise I was seated. It made it a very easy night,
- 9:34Speaker 5: But I just couldn't understand the calculus. If you're looking
- 9:36Speaker 5: at the Poles. The Poles have been reliable at least
- 9:39Speaker 5: for the Republican primary, and the Poles are putting Trump
- 9:42Speaker 5: up right now in seven out of seven swing states,
- 9:45Speaker 5: and nationally it looks like he's up five points. It
- 9:47Speaker 5: could change. But if I'm Joe Biden, I don't need
- 9:51Speaker 5: AOC and Aana Presley. They were on their feet, they
- 9:53Speaker 5: were cheering. I don't need them right now. I really
- 9:56Speaker 5: need those nicky Haley voters.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Really And I think what it was when I was
- 10:00Speaker 1: watching it.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Obviously I was watching on TV, and I had a
- 10:03Speaker 2: different perspective than you guys that were in the chamber.
- 10:05Speaker 2: But when Biden entered the House Chamber and the dim
- 10:08Speaker 2: start chanting four more years, to me, what it came
- 10:11Speaker 2: across as was I've got to let the Democratic Party
- 10:16Speaker 2: in machine know I'm not going anywhere. You're not going
- 10:21Speaker 2: to replace me at the convention. I am the candidate.
- 10:25Speaker 2: The entire speech, watching again on TV, came across as
- 10:29Speaker 2: one hundred percent a partisan campaign speech, and it was like,
- 10:35Speaker 2: if you think you're gonna get rid of me, you're wrong.
- 10:38Speaker 2: You better get behind me. He clearly was going to
- 10:41Speaker 2: the left. And I think it's the left, meaning the
- 10:43Speaker 2: Democratic the elites, the Democratic higher ups that are thinking,
- 10:47Speaker 2: how the hell do we run this guy? Can we
- 10:49Speaker 2: get rid of him? Can we bring somebody else in?
- 10:51Speaker 2: It was like, I'm here tonight and I'm not going anywhere.
- 10:54Speaker 3: Look, that's not crazy. I will say when when the
- 10:58Speaker 3: Dems began four more years, that was weird too. I
- 11:03Speaker 3: may be missed remembering, but I don't remember that ever
- 11:06Speaker 3: happening before.
- 11:07Speaker 5: No, but I think it's like the Lady Doth protests
- 11:10Speaker 5: too much in the sense that truly it's not even
- 11:13Speaker 5: that I don't like the guy, and I thought he
- 11:14Speaker 5: gave a bad speech, but I thought.
- 11:16Speaker 4: Four more years?
- 11:17Speaker 5: Who are you trying to convience here? You know, I
- 11:20Speaker 5: don't think you could convince him of four more years.
- 11:22Speaker 3: So seven more months, yeah, yeah, ten more minutes, yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 11:28Speaker 1: I got thirty three minutes of doctor say it can
- 11:30Speaker 1: make it right?
- 11:31Speaker 4: Right?
- 11:32Speaker 1: I mean, we know it.
- 11:34Speaker 2: It was a very partisan speech, and I want to
- 11:36Speaker 2: get both of you guys reaction to I think what
- 11:39Speaker 2: was the most awkward moment of the night from a
- 11:42Speaker 2: TV standpoint, and that was when the President went directly
- 11:46Speaker 2: after the Supreme Court justices that were sitting in front
- 11:49Speaker 2: of him. It did not play well, I think to
- 11:52Speaker 2: the American people, take a listen.
- 11:57Speaker 6: Francessor came to office determined to see wherever right overturn.
- 12:01Speaker 6: He's the reason was overturned, and he brags about it.
- 12:04Speaker 5: That was my applause, Chaos.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Join us.
- 12:08Speaker 6: Tonight is Kate Cox, the wife and mother from Dallas.
- 12:13Speaker 6: She's become pregnant again and had a fetus of a
- 12:15Speaker 6: fatal condition. Her doctor told Kate that her own life
- 12:20Speaker 6: and her ability to have Choo children in the future
- 12:24Speaker 6: were at risk if she didn't act because Texas law
- 12:29Speaker 6: banned her ability to act. Kate and her husband had
- 12:31Speaker 6: to leave the state to get what she needed, but
- 12:34Speaker 6: her family got through. Should have never happened as well.
- 12:37Speaker 6: But it's happening in too many others. There are state
- 12:41Speaker 6: laws banning the freedom to choose, criminalizing doctors, forcing survivors
- 12:45Speaker 6: of rape and incest to leave their states to get
- 12:48Speaker 6: the treatment they need. Many of you in this chamber
- 12:52Speaker 6: and my predecessor are promising to pass the national ban
- 12:55Speaker 6: on reproductive freedom. My god, what freedom else would you
- 12:58Speaker 6: take away? Look, it's a decision to overturn Roe v. Wade,
- 13:03Speaker 6: The Supreme Court majority wrote the following, and with all
- 13:06Speaker 6: due respect, Justices, women are not without electoral power. Excuse me,
- 13:13Speaker 6: electoral or political power. You're about to realize just how
- 13:17Speaker 6: much you get.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Write it out, I mean center.
- 13:21Speaker 2: That was honestly one of the most shocking moments of
- 13:27Speaker 2: any State of the Union I've ever seen. He looked
- 13:30Speaker 2: straight down at them, and it came across that way
- 13:33Speaker 2: on TV of you sitting beneath me. I'm coming after
- 13:37Speaker 2: all of you, including you liberals, down there, and you
- 13:40Speaker 2: better get your acted. I think a lot of it
- 13:43Speaker 2: also is in a weird way, the anger and the
- 13:45Speaker 2: disdain and he had when he was looking at them.
- 13:47Speaker 2: At least how it came across on TV was part
- 13:50Speaker 2: of the Nino decision I think for Donald Trump and
- 13:53Speaker 2: Colorado this past week.
- 13:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:55Speaker 3: Look, it was a very strange moment, I will say
- 13:57Speaker 3: when he said, with all due respect, A number of us,
- 14:00Speaker 3: including me, laughed out loud at that because it was like,
- 14:03Speaker 3: with all due respect, FU like it was not that
- 14:08Speaker 3: there was no respect to do or otherwise. It was
- 14:12Speaker 3: reminiscent in some ways of Barack Obama lecturing the Court
- 14:16Speaker 3: about citizens United and justice. Alito famously mouthed not true,
- 14:21Speaker 3: and actually Justice Alito doesn't go to the State of
- 14:23Speaker 3: the Union anymore because of that. That was the last
- 14:25Speaker 3: he went. But the temperature on this was three hundred
- 14:31Speaker 3: degrees hotter, like it makes Obama's words about Citizens United
- 14:37Speaker 3: feel almost quaint and antiquated. This was angry, it was bitter,
- 14:43Speaker 3: it was threatening. And look what's also weird about it.
- 14:48Speaker 3: Biden almost never smiled, like there was no effort to
- 14:53Speaker 3: bring new voters into the fold. And even listen when
- 14:58Speaker 3: he's talking about abortion, when he's talking about Kate Cox,
- 15:01Speaker 3: Kate Cox's situation was tragic. He doesn't tell her story
- 15:07Speaker 3: with empathy. He doesn't actually talk like a normal human
- 15:12Speaker 3: being and the horror that any parent would have at
- 15:15Speaker 3: finding out that that that that you had a child
- 15:18Speaker 3: with a fatal birth defect. Instead he just screams about it,
- 15:23Speaker 3: which was a very strange way. And it was the
- 15:25Speaker 3: same He had one volume, he had one tempo, he
- 15:30Speaker 3: had one affect through the entire speech, and and and
- 15:35Speaker 3: it was and by the way he combined it all
- 15:37Speaker 3: with massive dishonesty, where he's like, and you Republicans want
- 15:40Speaker 3: to want to ban abortion across the country. Look, I
- 15:44Speaker 3: am not aware of a single member of Congress that
- 15:46Speaker 3: has a bill to ban abortion nationwide.
- 15:50Speaker 5: I'm not aware of a presidential candidate, actually a Republican
- 15:53Speaker 5: presidential candidate. I mean, even to your point on dishonesty, Senator,
- 15:57Speaker 5: obviously part of the Cox story is part of it
- 16:00Speaker 5: is just quite tragic, and there's absolutely no nuance in
- 16:03Speaker 5: the Democrats telling of it. But part of it is dishonest.
- 16:06Speaker 5: When the Democrats say she was not permitted to have
- 16:09Speaker 5: an abortion when her life was at risk, that's just
- 16:13Speaker 5: a lie. There is no state in the country where
- 16:16Speaker 5: if a woman's life is at risk, she can't undergo
- 16:20Speaker 5: the medical treatment, some of which would involve an abortion,
- 16:22Speaker 5: to deal with that.
- 16:23Speaker 3: So that Texas law is explicit allowing an exception for
- 16:26Speaker 3: a medical emergency. But Biden would accept no nuance. It
- 16:32Speaker 3: was a Manichean world where he was the self righteous
- 16:37Speaker 3: avenger and everyone the Supreme Court, every Republican on earth,
- 16:41Speaker 3: everyone who disagrees with his view were the evildoers to
- 16:45Speaker 3: be vanquished.
- 16:47Speaker 5: It was very strange the focus on that. I mean,
- 16:49Speaker 5: for a while, when I saw the guest list come out,
- 16:51Speaker 5: I said, am I the only guest at the State
- 16:53Speaker 5: of the Union.
- 16:54Speaker 4: Who isn't invited to promote abortion?
- 16:56Speaker 5: I thought, I understand the Democrats think they can really
- 16:58Speaker 5: lean on that so much so that they're going to
- 17:00Speaker 5: explicitly attack the Supreme Court during the State of the Union.
- 17:04Speaker 5: But is that that's really the issue that Joe Biden
- 17:07Speaker 5: wants to run on. It is front and center, and
- 17:11Speaker 5: then screaming about Ukraine.
- 17:14Speaker 1: Ukraine was the top.
- 17:15Speaker 2: But there was even weird other moments in their center
- 17:18Speaker 2: that were also I would say bizarre. Were you guys
- 17:24Speaker 2: taking aback in the room? When he said the vaccine
- 17:26Speaker 2: that saved us from COVID are now being used to
- 17:29Speaker 2: beat cancer, and everybody that was watching it, I think
- 17:32Speaker 2: at home, it was like, what in the world is
- 17:34Speaker 2: the president talking about?
- 17:36Speaker 6: That all America and all Americans to make every sure
- 17:40Speaker 6: everyone has a fair shot, we leave no one behind.
- 17:45Speaker 6: The pandemic no longer controls our lives. The vaccines has
- 17:49Speaker 6: saved us from COVID are now being used to beat cancer,
- 17:53Speaker 6: turning set back into comeback.
- 17:56Speaker 1: That's what America does.
- 17:58Speaker 6: That's what America does.
- 18:00Speaker 2: By the way, when he said that, even Kamawa Harris's
- 18:02Speaker 2: eyes got big and looked like I looked at him, like, wait,
- 18:04Speaker 2: what the vaccine saved us us from COVID and now
- 18:07Speaker 2: it's beating cancer.
- 18:10Speaker 3: By the way, Ben I will say, if he was
- 18:13Speaker 3: telling the truth, if Joe Biden actually had cured cancer,
- 18:18Speaker 3: you'd think he would have told us about it by now.
- 18:20Speaker 1: You would have led with it before Ukraine, you would hope.
- 18:23Speaker 3: Like, like, wouldn't you just start? Good evening, I want
- 18:26Speaker 3: to start by saying we have cured cancer. That's the
- 18:30Speaker 3: end of my speech, thank you, and the end of
- 18:31Speaker 3: my campaign. I think I won reelection.
- 18:33Speaker 5: Actually that the COVID stuff, I guess might have been
- 18:37Speaker 5: the most dishonest part of the speech, where because on
- 18:41Speaker 5: some of it he's just lying, right, he's lying about abortion,
- 18:43Speaker 5: he's lying about the border. But on the COVID stuff
- 18:47Speaker 5: he uses partial truths to tell total lies, where he says,
- 18:51Speaker 5: you know, are we've cut the deficit by a trillion dollars, Yeah,
- 18:56Speaker 5: because the Democrats made us spend an insane amount of
- 18:59Speaker 5: money justify by COVID. So yeah, sure tech, Oh we've
- 19:02Speaker 5: created a bazillion new jobs. Yeah, you shut down a
- 19:05Speaker 5: ton of businesses right on the premise of COVID, so yeah, like, technically,
- 19:09Speaker 5: I guess that's true, but that it's just a false
- 19:11Speaker 5: economic painting.
- 19:14Speaker 2: Well, and I also want to ask you, guys, is
- 19:16Speaker 2: anybody looking forward to getting on Air Force one to
- 19:18Speaker 2: go to Moscow.
- 19:19Speaker 1: I'm gonna get in trouble for saying that.
- 19:20Speaker 6: But if you want to get an Air Force woman
- 19:22Speaker 6: and fly to Toronto, Berlin, Moscow, I mean, excuse me,
- 19:26Speaker 6: and well even Moscow.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Probably even Moscow. Probably that's how he saved it.
- 19:31Speaker 2: I'm like, well, if you're taking all the money from
- 19:33Speaker 2: oligarks at Moscow, I guess maybe we are going to
- 19:35Speaker 2: fly on Air Force one to Moscow? Why not even
- 19:37Speaker 2: though you're saying they're going to invade the world fifteen
- 19:40Speaker 2: minutes earlier, and you better give all the money to Ukraine.
- 19:43Speaker 3: Look, it was it was out of touch. It was
- 19:48Speaker 3: out of touch with the issues that I think people
- 19:51Speaker 3: are wrestling with on an inflation I can tell you
- 19:54Speaker 3: in Texas, I spent a lot of time listening to
- 19:56Speaker 3: Texans when they pay their rent. Remember the the candidate
- 20:00Speaker 3: in New York the rent is too damn high.
- 20:02Speaker 4: A good friend of mine, actually, well, okay, that like.
- 20:06Speaker 3: Mortgages when when you know a young couple goes out
- 20:09Speaker 3: and they're gonna buy their first house, and they discover
- 20:11Speaker 3: that a seven percent mortgage rate is very different from
- 20:13Speaker 3: a two percent mortgage rate, and they can get half
- 20:17Speaker 3: the house they used to be able to get when
- 20:21Speaker 3: they go to the grocery store and suddenly there's.
- 20:23Speaker 1: A lot time.
- 20:23Speaker 2: But he's gonna give you four hundred dollars. Didn't he
- 20:25Speaker 2: say that tonight in the State of the Union to
- 20:27Speaker 2: help you buy that house. It's nono one hundred thousand
- 20:29Speaker 2: from last year.
- 20:30Speaker 5: It was even better than that when he said the
- 20:33Speaker 5: big savings. Forget about the price of groceries. There aren't
- 20:36Speaker 5: enough chips in the bag of potato chips. But he says,
- 20:38Speaker 5: don't worry, because I'm putting a cap the credit card
- 20:43Speaker 5: late payments used to be thirty two dollars, and I'm
- 20:46Speaker 5: gonna make it eight dollars, twenty four dollars in the
- 20:49Speaker 5: pockets of every American. Reelect me. In twenty twenty four.
- 20:53Speaker 3: It was over and over again. He had new things
- 20:56Speaker 3: he was going to give away. Look the four hundred
- 20:58Speaker 3: dollars to everyone here. This will help you pay you more.
- 21:00Speaker 3: I'm just gonna send you four hundred dollars. Mind you,
- 21:02Speaker 3: your mortgage gone has gone up because we spent so
- 21:05Speaker 3: much money and we drove inflation and drove it up,
- 21:07Speaker 3: so we'll just pay you. And our answer the problem
- 21:11Speaker 3: is we printed too much money and it caused inflation.
- 21:15Speaker 3: My answer is we're gonna print even more money and
- 21:18Speaker 3: that's going to help you deal with inflation. And like,
- 21:21Speaker 3: did anyone on the White White House staff like like
- 21:24Speaker 3: like take econ one oh one, like did they go
- 21:28Speaker 3: for like one day?
- 21:29Speaker 5: Certainly not under the White House staff since the Obama years.
- 21:33Speaker 5: They they usually get MFAs in creative writing, and somehow
- 21:36Speaker 5: that's supposed to direct domestic and foreign policy.
- 21:39Speaker 3: By the way, I say, also, did you notice there
- 21:42Speaker 3: was not only was it angry and bitter and extreme,
- 21:45Speaker 3: but there was also very little beautiful about it. I
- 21:48Speaker 3: mean sometimes State of the Unions have some poetry to it.
- 21:52Speaker 3: I mean there's you think of Peggy Noonan writing for
- 21:55Speaker 3: Ronald Reagan, and and and there is there are full
- 22:00Speaker 3: moments in the State of the Union. And there were
- 22:02Speaker 3: no beautiful moments tonight.
- 22:04Speaker 2: And I think it's because he was running for reelection.
- 22:07Speaker 2: He was all about that I'm not going anywhere.
- 22:10Speaker 5: Even at the end of the speech though, because I
- 22:13Speaker 5: totally agree with you, Ben, he was and I agree
- 22:16Speaker 5: with you, Senator. You know, this is this rallying of
- 22:18Speaker 5: the base. Maybe it was just to shore up the
- 22:20Speaker 5: Democrats because he feels that Gavin Newsom's lurking in the corner.
- 22:23Speaker 5: By the end, he started to lean in a little
- 22:27Speaker 5: bit toward what could have been poetry, but it was
- 22:29Speaker 5: so platitudinous, and also it was a self contradictory. So
- 22:34Speaker 5: within the span of about three minutes, at the end
- 22:36Speaker 5: of the speech, he says, we are still the United
- 22:38Speaker 5: States of America. We have enduring values. We believe what
- 22:41Speaker 5: we've always believed, these old enduring ideas, and then not
- 22:45Speaker 5: two seconds later, he says, but we got to get
- 22:46Speaker 5: rid of the old ideas. We need all the new ideas.
- 22:49Speaker 5: And I said, wait a second, but you had two
- 22:51Speaker 5: speech writers clearly with separate theses on this, and they
- 22:55Speaker 5: don't work together.
- 22:56Speaker 1: We're talking about tonight.
- 22:57Speaker 2: The world is in flames and by knomics is a
- 23:00Speaker 2: complete and total disaster. But it can't ruin my day
- 23:04Speaker 2: every day, right because when I wake up every morning,
- 23:07Speaker 2: I want to start off on the right foot. And
- 23:08Speaker 2: when I get ready to do radio at seven am.

- 24:21Speaker 1: Center.
- 24:22Speaker 2: You did Hannity tonight, and there was one thing that
- 24:26Speaker 2: Handy said that I thought was very interesting in his monologue.
- 24:29Speaker 2: He was talking about the obsession with the White House,
- 24:32Speaker 2: saying that the economy's strong and Bidenomics is working. I
- 24:35Speaker 2: want you to hear what he had to say for
- 24:37Speaker 2: everyone that missed it. It's very interesting.
- 24:39Speaker 7: Let's start with his lives on the economy.
- 24:41Speaker 1: Take a look, I heard it. Economy is on the
- 24:44Speaker 1: brink now.
- 24:45Speaker 6: Our economy is literally the envy of the world. Fifteen
- 24:48Speaker 6: million new jobs in just three years, a record, a
- 24:52Speaker 6: record way.
- 24:53Speaker 1: Just keep going up. In flash, she keeps coming down.
- 24:56Speaker 6: Inflation has dropped from nine percent to three percent, the
- 24:58Speaker 6: lowest in the world and tending lower.
- 25:06Speaker 1: The land he is and will be saw all right.
- 25:10Speaker 1: Here is the truth. Here of the facts.
- 25:11Speaker 7: Since Biden took office, cumulative prices have risen over seventeen percent.
- 25:17Speaker 7: Real hourly wages have only risen thirteen percent. Sixty percent
- 25:21Speaker 7: of our fellow Americans, sadly, they are living paycheck to
- 25:24Speaker 7: paycheck now costs across the board. They are surgery, groceries,
- 25:28Speaker 7: are eating up more of the American people's paychecks, and
- 25:32Speaker 7: they have in over thirty years. In fact, according to
- 25:34Speaker 7: a recent study, Americans now need to make eleven four
- 25:39Speaker 7: hundred dollars more to afford the same quality of life
- 25:41Speaker 7: that they did in twenty twenty one. And his claims
- 25:44Speaker 7: about job creation another lie. In reality, almost ten million
- 25:48Speaker 7: of those jobs are just well backfield jobs or temporary
- 25:53Speaker 7: jobs that were lost during the pandemic. And as we
- 25:56Speaker 7: know now many of those other jobs were part time
- 25:58Speaker 7: jobs going too many farm born workers.
- 26:01Speaker 1: That he's led it in this country on veted illegally.
- 26:04Speaker 2: I mean, Senator, you hear that montage. It's spot on.
- 26:09Speaker 2: But this goes back to how tone death this White
- 26:12Speaker 2: House seems to be. It's the economy, stupid. You walk
- 26:15Speaker 2: out there and you the beginning of the stay of
- 26:18Speaker 2: the Union was, I'm going to tell the American people
- 26:21Speaker 2: you must give massive amounts of money Ukraine or you're
- 26:24Speaker 2: an evil person. You better give me abortion on demand
- 26:28Speaker 2: and help me allow me to kill more babies, or
- 26:30Speaker 2: you're a terrible person. And I'm going to oh and
- 26:33Speaker 2: on top of that, I'm going to attack the Supreme
- 26:35Speaker 2: Court in front of me and basically say they're illegitimate.
- 26:38Speaker 2: And then after forty something minutes, I might mention the
- 26:43Speaker 2: number one issue for many Americans, which is border security.
- 26:46Speaker 1: It took him forty plus minutes to get to that.
- 26:49Speaker 3: Well, and before we turn to border security, which we
- 26:52Speaker 3: obviously are going to talk about, let's pause for a
- 26:55Speaker 3: second on inflation, and I'll say number one. Hannity referenced
- 26:59Speaker 3: the study that's say it's over eleven thousand dollars a
- 27:01Speaker 3: year to live the same standard of living you had
- 27:04Speaker 3: in twenty twenty one, just three years ago before Joe
- 27:07Speaker 3: Biden came to office. That works out to nearly one
- 27:10Speaker 3: thousand dollars more a month. Wow, is what people are
- 27:14Speaker 3: having to pay just to tread water, just to stay
- 27:16Speaker 3: where they were in twenty twenty one. And I get
- 27:20Speaker 3: to say, the moment where Biden seemed most out of
- 27:23Speaker 3: touch on this issue was when he did his whole
- 27:26Speaker 3: shrink flation thing, And it kind of felt like, you
- 27:29Speaker 3: remember Andy Rooney, who'd be like, you ever notice when
- 27:32Speaker 3: you have potato chips as many potato chips in the
- 27:36Speaker 3: bag as they used to be.
- 27:39Speaker 4: Why is that it's a direct quote from the State
- 27:41Speaker 4: of the Union.
- 27:43Speaker 3: It if you're trying not to seem like a crazy
- 27:47Speaker 3: old man ranting, maybe don't sound like a crazy old
- 27:51Speaker 3: man ranting. And on the other level, no kidding, Yes,
- 27:58Speaker 3: we're aware what shrink inflation is and you caused it,
- 28:04Speaker 3: Like there's no actual use of the cranium to say, well,
- 28:10Speaker 3: what is causing those mean old corporations to put fewer
- 28:14Speaker 3: potato chips in the bag. Do they just hate their
- 28:18Speaker 3: customers and don't want them to eat potato chips? Or
- 28:21Speaker 3: are they dealing with inflation and it costs more and
- 28:24Speaker 3: more and more and they're trying to find ways to
- 28:27Speaker 3: fight the inflation that you caused by printing trillions of
- 28:31Speaker 3: dollars in money we didn't have. There's no awareness of that.
- 28:34Speaker 3: There's just ranting, I don't like shrinkflation, So what are
- 28:39Speaker 3: we gonna do? Pass Bob Casey's bill on shrinkflation? And
- 28:43Speaker 3: we're all looking at each other going, what the hell
- 28:45Speaker 3: does Casey have?
- 28:47Speaker 4: Like, like, what does Casey have a law?
- 28:48Speaker 3: We're going to count the chips in your bag and
- 28:50Speaker 3: if you're below the chips, Joe Biden gives you four
- 28:53Speaker 3: hundred dollars.
- 28:54Speaker 5: Like Hostito's Protection Act from Casey you know it. It
- 28:59Speaker 5: reminded me of that meme of the guy who has
- 29:01Speaker 5: the gun and he turns around and he shoots someone,
- 29:03Speaker 5: and then he looks at the camera. He says, why
- 29:05Speaker 5: did X, Y and Z do that? Right, and blames
- 29:08Speaker 5: anything else, And it's Biden with the inflation. He has
- 29:11Speaker 5: all this massive spending and then he says, why did
- 29:13Speaker 5: the tostitos company do that? But if you had taken
- 29:17Speaker 5: even economics one oh one in high school, you would say, look,
- 29:21Speaker 5: the chip company has always had an incentive to maximize profits.
- 29:26Speaker 5: The thing that has change is not that all of
- 29:28Speaker 5: a sudden the potato chip company wants to make money.
- 29:30Speaker 5: Clearly something else in the economic He's changed here between
- 29:34Speaker 5: the last eight years or so.
- 29:36Speaker 3: By the way, when the economy is booming, think what
- 29:40Speaker 3: big mean corporations do they sell megamega size even more chips,
- 29:46Speaker 3: you know, the big gulp with enough to drink to
- 29:48Speaker 3: have you on caffeine for the next thirteen weeks.
- 29:51Speaker 4: Like that, Also is the profit.
- 29:54Speaker 3: Motive if you're not dealing with crushing inflation and trying
- 29:57Speaker 3: to figure out a way to make things work right.
- 29:59Speaker 2: All right, I gotta ask you guys about the heckling
- 30:02Speaker 2: that happened. There was one person that heckled tonight. It's
- 30:05Speaker 2: now being reported that that individual was a gold star
- 30:11Speaker 2: father whose son, Lance Colonel Karen nick Koori, who was
- 30:17Speaker 2: killed by a terrorist suicide bomber during Joe Biden's disastrous
- 30:21Speaker 2: withdraw from Afghanistan. I usually am not a big fan
- 30:25Speaker 2: of heckling. I don't think that's heckling once I learned
- 30:28Speaker 2: the backstory. That was an angry father who saw a
- 30:31Speaker 2: president that was rewriting history.
- 30:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 30:34Speaker 3: Look, we did not know the backstory when he yelled.
- 30:37Speaker 3: We could tell he was yelling something about a marine company,
- 30:40Speaker 3: but we couldn't tell the details in that room. Obviously,
- 30:44Speaker 3: if his son lost his life, I wondered if it
- 30:48Speaker 3: was if it was one of the Marines who was
- 30:51Speaker 3: killed in Afghanistan, if that's what he was referring to,
- 30:54Speaker 3: and apparently it was. Look, Joe Biden accepts no responsibility
- 30:59Speaker 3: for anything, and instead his White House tries to whitewash
- 31:04Speaker 3: every foreign policy disaster as an absolute success. And you know,
- 31:11Speaker 3: when it comes to the thirteen servicemen and women who
- 31:13Speaker 3: died in Afghanistan, that was completely unnecessary.
- 31:16Speaker 4: It was Biden's fault.
- 31:17Speaker 3: By the way, one of my favorite pods we ever
- 31:20Speaker 3: did is when we focused on the testimony of the
- 31:24Speaker 3: young marine who was there in Afghanistan and had the
- 31:28Speaker 3: suicide bomber, had him identified him, was prepared to take
- 31:32Speaker 3: him out, and the Biden White House wouldn't let him,
- 31:35Speaker 3: and he was prevented from doing so, and those service
- 31:38Speaker 3: men and women were killed.
- 31:39Speaker 5: You know, I'm seeing a news report now. I don't
- 31:42Speaker 5: know if it's been verified or not, that the man
- 31:45Speaker 5: who was yelling out about his son and the Marines
- 31:49Speaker 5: was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor for interrupting Biden.
- 31:53Speaker 5: And I didn't know it was a crime at all
- 31:55Speaker 5: to interrupt the state of the Union. If it is,
- 31:58Speaker 5: I imagine not a court in the land would ever convict
- 32:00Speaker 5: him given the circumstances of what he did.
- 32:03Speaker 4: Have you seen the DC district courts? Well, fair enough.
- 32:06Speaker 2: I was saying, you'll have a much shot, and yeah,
- 32:08Speaker 2: trust me, they'll go after them all the way.
- 32:10Speaker 5: Right. I forgot where we were broadcasting from right now.
- 32:13Speaker 2: It was putting you in the swamp, brother, You were
- 32:16Speaker 2: right in the swamp.
- 32:18Speaker 5: But putting that particular instance aside it did seem to
- 32:22Speaker 5: me that there was more heckling than usual. You've been
- 32:25Speaker 5: to a dozen of these centators.
- 32:26Speaker 3: Yeah, Look, I mean there has been. The Democrats were
- 32:31Speaker 3: doing lots of the four more years, which was weird.
- 32:33Speaker 3: I don't recall I don't recall anyone doing that for Obama.
- 32:37Speaker 3: I don't recall folks doing it for Trump. I may
- 32:41Speaker 3: not be remembering it, but if it happened, I don't
- 32:44Speaker 3: remember it, you know, I will say, Look, in recent years,
- 32:48Speaker 3: I have not like. There are some House Republicans who
- 32:51Speaker 3: heckled the president, and I got.
- 32:52Speaker 4: To say, I really dislike that.
- 32:55Speaker 3: I disagree passionately with Joe Biden, but I respect the
- 33:01Speaker 3: office of the presidency and what it represents, and so
- 33:05Speaker 3: even if I disagree with him, I just think it's
- 33:08Speaker 3: not Look, a gold star father is a different circumstance,
- 33:12Speaker 3: But for a member of Congress, I think heckling is
- 33:15Speaker 3: is not not consistent with the decorum and respect that
- 33:21Speaker 3: is owed, not just the presidency. By the way, did
- 33:24Speaker 3: you notice what didn't happen at the beginning of the speech?
- 33:26Speaker 3: Did you notice the Speaker of the House speak the
- 33:28Speaker 3: House the speech up into shreds, and.
- 33:31Speaker 2: He didn't get to introduce him. Did you notice that
- 33:33Speaker 2: as well? Usually you have him introduce He didn't do that.
- 33:36Speaker 2: The President just walked up there, went straight to the
- 33:38Speaker 2: to the podium and started talking. And the entire moment
- 33:41Speaker 2: where you're supposed to introduce him that comes to the
- 33:43Speaker 2: Speak of the House never happened.
- 33:46Speaker 3: It was It was very odd and look the heckling
- 33:51Speaker 3: led to So I predicted before the speech that there
- 33:56Speaker 3: were four words that that Biden would not say, Lake
- 34:00Speaker 3: and Riley and Jeremy Caserras. Now, as it so happened,
- 34:06Speaker 3: he kind of sort of said Lake.
- 34:07Speaker 4: And Riley, but he almost tried to.
- 34:09Speaker 3: But he did so in response to heckling someone calling
- 34:13Speaker 3: out say her name, and there were many members of
- 34:15Speaker 3: Congress wearing buttons and pins that said Lake and Riley,
- 34:19Speaker 3: say her name.
- 34:21Speaker 1: And he said the wrong name.
- 34:23Speaker 3: He said Lincoln Riley, which the.
- 34:26Speaker 1: Head football coach at usc.
- 34:31Speaker 3: It and he had one of those buttons. So I
- 34:34Speaker 3: think I think one of the members of Congress had
- 34:36Speaker 3: given it to him.
- 34:37Speaker 5: Yes, I don't know if it was Congressman Andy Ogles
- 34:40Speaker 5: who actually invited me tonight, or if it was Marjorie
- 34:44Speaker 5: Taylor Green or what but there were a handful of
- 34:46Speaker 5: the conservative congressman who had it, and what I heard
- 34:50Speaker 5: from one of the members was that they handed it
- 34:52Speaker 5: to the president. He leaned it, he said, oh, I
- 34:55Speaker 5: like your button. But I don't think it was sarcastic.
- 34:58Speaker 5: I think he legitimately had no idea what was going
- 35:00Speaker 5: on and what it represented.
- 35:02Speaker 3: Well, look when the heckling happened, he responded, and he
- 35:06Speaker 3: did sort of try to say her name, although he
- 35:09Speaker 3: didn't get it right. But then look what he said.
- 35:13Speaker 3: He said, you know, she was killed. I'm sorry she
- 35:16Speaker 3: was killed, and he expressed sympathy for the parents. And
- 35:20Speaker 3: I got to say that may have been the moment
- 35:23Speaker 3: that pissed me off the most because listen, so Lake
- 35:28Speaker 3: and Riley's parents were invited, and actually, you know, they
- 35:33Speaker 3: were invited and they decided not to come. And I
- 35:37Speaker 3: understand they are grieving the loss of their daughter, their
- 35:39Speaker 3: home in Georgia, and the Georgia House member who invited
- 35:46Speaker 3: them left the seat vacant in honor of Lake and Riley.
- 35:50Speaker 3: And you know, frankly, they don't want Joe Biden's empathy.
- 35:56Speaker 3: They don't want a Hallmark.
- 35:57Speaker 4: Card from him.
- 35:58Speaker 3: They want their daughter back and and what Joe Biden
- 36:02Speaker 3: didn't do is take responsibility for his direct culpability. And
- 36:09Speaker 3: let's walk through. Lake and Riley never should have been killed.
- 36:14Speaker 3: The illegal immigrant who murdered her was caught. He was
- 36:17Speaker 3: apprehended in Texas, in El Paso. He came illegally from Venezuela.
- 36:22Speaker 3: We had him. And what should have happened is the
- 36:25Speaker 3: Biden administration should have followed the law. They should have
- 36:27Speaker 3: put him on a plane and flown him back to Venezuela.
- 36:30Speaker 3: And if Joe Biden had done that, Lake and Riley
- 36:32Speaker 3: would still be alive today.
- 36:34Speaker 4: But it wasn't.
- 36:35Speaker 5: Just l Pass was so so frustrating about this, all
- 36:40Speaker 5: a totally preventable tragedy. Yes, they could have gotten him
- 36:42Speaker 5: in New York. They did get him in New York.
- 36:44Speaker 5: He committed a crime in New York they let him go.
- 36:46Speaker 3: He was arrested for endangering a child. But New York City,
- 36:51Speaker 3: again run by Democrats, calls itself a sanctuary city, and
- 36:54Speaker 3: they let him go. If Joe Biden had deported him,
- 36:57Speaker 3: Lake and Riley would be alive. If New York City
- 36:59Speaker 3: had kept it and jail, Lake and Riley would be
- 37:01Speaker 3: a lot forget.
- 37:01Speaker 4: About New York City.
- 37:02Speaker 5: He ends up in Athens, Georgia, and he steals from
- 37:07Speaker 5: a store. I forget which store. It was the Georgia authorities.
- 37:11Speaker 5: I think he was cited with a misdemeanor for shoplifting.
- 37:15Speaker 5: You had three distinct opportunities.
- 37:18Speaker 1: Three chances to get rid of him.
- 37:20Speaker 5: Three chances, three strikes, You're out, and a poor American
- 37:23Speaker 5: student winds up dead because.
- 37:24Speaker 3: And by the way, let's be clear, Jeremy Cassaris is
- 37:27Speaker 3: a two year old boy, a beautiful little boy who
- 37:31Speaker 3: was murdered just weeks ago in Prince George's County in Virginia,
- 37:36Speaker 3: about thirty miles from where Joe Biden was standing. And
- 37:41Speaker 3: that little boy was murdered again by an illegal immigrant
- 37:44Speaker 3: that Joe Biden let go. This is happening across the country.
- 37:47Speaker 3: We're getting day after day stories of children raped by
- 37:52Speaker 3: illegal immigrants. Joe Biden is let go. And he had
- 37:55Speaker 3: zero acknowledgment of that, zero intention of changing anything. It
- 38:01Speaker 3: was just crocodile tears of I'm so sorry about your daughter,
- 38:05Speaker 3: without acknowledging it happened because of his policies, and he
- 38:11Speaker 3: continues to do those policies which means there'll be another
- 38:14Speaker 3: lake in Riley tomorrow and another set of parents that
- 38:18Speaker 3: he again disingenuously apologizes well.
- 38:20Speaker 2: And the proof that the President doesn't seem to care
- 38:22Speaker 2: about this issue is the fact that it took him
- 38:25Speaker 2: forty minutes into an hour speech to even mention the
- 38:29Speaker 2: border on his own. That's how far they buried the
- 38:32Speaker 2: border issue in his State of the Union speech.
- 38:35Speaker 5: What I wondered when he was browbeating the Republicans for
- 38:39Speaker 5: not voting for even more illegal immigration, which is what
- 38:42Speaker 5: his border bill would have done, is is he just
- 38:46Speaker 5: counting on the American people not realizing that he is
- 38:51Speaker 5: dismantling the fence that the Texas border authorities are putting up,
- 38:55Speaker 5: That it's not merely passivity that he's allowing.
- 38:59Speaker 3: Actually give you a little bit of correction on that
- 39:03Speaker 3: he wants to dismantle it, but he hasn't actually done it.
- 39:06Speaker 4: He hasn't succeeded.
- 39:07Speaker 3: No, No, the razor wire is there, and they ended up
- 39:11Speaker 3: Texas had gotten an injunction preventing the Biden administration from
- 39:15Speaker 3: removing the razor wire, and that injunction got reversed. So
- 39:20Speaker 3: the Biden administration is no longer prevented from removing the
- 39:25Speaker 3: razor wire, but they have not done so.
- 39:27Speaker 5: They wanted to do it, they're prevented from doing it,
- 39:30Speaker 5: they're then allowed to do it, but they got spooked
- 39:33Speaker 5: by the politics off Yeah. Wow, Wow, that's actually encouraging
- 39:39Speaker 5: that someone at the White House is saying, hold on
- 39:41Speaker 5: that that really crazy thing that we were going to do.
- 39:44Speaker 5: Maybe let's hold off, yeah for a few days.
- 39:46Speaker 4: Wow.
- 39:47Speaker 2: All right, before we end, I got to get you
- 39:49Speaker 2: guys reaction to two different things, two clips from CNN.
- 39:54Speaker 2: You guys were obviously in the chamber and you didn't
- 39:57Speaker 2: get to see all the commentary. I want you to
- 39:59Speaker 2: hear what CNN had to say about the state of
- 40:02Speaker 2: the Union. This is clip one.
- 40:04Speaker 1: Listen.
- 40:04Speaker 8: He seemed like Walkowski, you talking about this area, he said,
- 40:07Speaker 8: like Walkawowski and Grandtarino screaming at kids, get off my lawn,
- 40:11Speaker 8: like an old guy screaming agains.
- 40:12Speaker 9: My guess is that when he got into the heart
- 40:15Speaker 9: of his agenda, the things that you ridicule about the
- 40:20Speaker 9: cost of food and you know, price gouging and so on.
- 40:24Speaker 1: I bet you that scored.
- 40:25Speaker 9: With a lot of people. I think that they the
- 40:28Speaker 9: populist economic agenda is a powerful, powerful thing for him.
- 40:33Speaker 1: Look, there are parts of it.
- 40:35Speaker 9: I'm not sure that the attacks all landed exactly. They
- 40:38Speaker 9: may have landed well in that room for sure, and
- 40:41Speaker 9: they landed well with base voters for sure. I'm not
- 40:43Speaker 9: sure where those swing voters that they landed as well,
- 40:47Speaker 9: but I do think.
- 40:48Speaker 2: I mean, that's David Axrod, the former Obama you know,
- 40:52Speaker 2: senior advisor, who's saying, you know, in response to one
- 40:55Speaker 2: of the commenters saying, look it was it was like
- 40:57Speaker 2: an old guy screaming to the kids get off my lawn.
- 40:59Speaker 1: It's what you said earlier. Center.
- 41:00Speaker 2: But they're saying CNN and he's even admitting, hey, there's
- 41:03Speaker 2: a pretty good chance that didn't play well or land
- 41:08Speaker 2: with independent voters.
- 41:09Speaker 3: Okay, Ben, you're really scaring me? Are you telling me that,
- 41:11Speaker 3: unbeknownst to me, I was channeling David Axelrod on CNN.
- 41:16Speaker 4: Holy crap. I might have to just hang it all
- 41:19Speaker 4: up right now. It's over.
- 41:20Speaker 3: I am off the rails, Michael right now.
- 41:25Speaker 4: Something we need to correct something.
- 41:27Speaker 3: And I got to say even worse, Axelrod's analogy is better.
- 41:31Speaker 3: He threw out the whole grand Tarino like he took
- 41:35Speaker 3: it one notch better. I am just thoroughly humiliated.
- 41:38Speaker 1: And not only that, you'll like this one.
- 41:40Speaker 2: So then there was another commentator on CNN who actually
- 41:43Speaker 2: said this about the president's speech.
- 41:46Speaker 8: Listen, he talked about snickers and snack chips before he
- 41:52Speaker 8: ever got to the border. He was obsessed with his
- 41:54Speaker 8: political rival more than he was obsessed with the condition
- 41:57Speaker 8: of the American people.
- 41:58Speaker 4: It was so weird.
- 42:00Speaker 8: This guy lectures us all on unity, the soul of
- 42:02Speaker 8: the nation, and he gives the most partisan convention speech
- 42:06Speaker 8: in place of a state of a Union that I've
- 42:08Speaker 8: ever heard. It's the literal opposite of unity. It's so partisan.
- 42:12Speaker 8: He's obsessed with taunting Republicans. It's not statesman life. Can
- 42:16Speaker 8: let's say one thing on Israel?
- 42:18Speaker 2: I mean, that was Scott Jennings, a former col league
- 42:20Speaker 2: of mine, who said that.
- 42:22Speaker 1: And he's right, by the way.
- 42:23Speaker 2: I mean, he did talk about snickers and snack chips
- 42:25Speaker 2: before he ever got to the border.
- 42:28Speaker 1: It was his words. It was just weird.
- 42:32Speaker 5: I like his observation that Joe Biden thought he was
- 42:35Speaker 5: at the DNC.
- 42:36Speaker 4: Maybe that's as simple as that.
- 42:37Speaker 5: You know, he thought he walked into the convention Whoosie
- 42:40Speaker 5: Daisy had actually was a joint session for the state
- 42:42Speaker 5: of the Union. But you know, the man doesn't remember
- 42:44Speaker 5: his own name.
- 42:45Speaker 3: I will say one thing that also, that clip reminded
- 42:48Speaker 3: me of It was odd how many times he referenced Trump.
- 42:54Speaker 3: I cannot think of any state of the Union in
- 42:57Speaker 3: my lifetime with that many references to your opponent, the
- 43:02Speaker 3: forer president, the forer president, the former president. And you
- 43:05Speaker 3: know he's like, you know, you know, I believe in
- 43:08Speaker 3: in truth and happiness and love and puppy dogs and fairies,
- 43:12Speaker 3: and my opponent believes in hate and suffering, in misery
- 43:17Speaker 3: and dead puppies.
- 43:19Speaker 5: Like like it was just like, really, do a little
- 43:23Speaker 5: defensive you would.
- 43:23Speaker 1: Say, campaign one I want.
- 43:26Speaker 2: I will tell you the list of things Biden didn't
- 43:28Speaker 2: mention to say the Union. You guys ready for this.
- 43:31Speaker 2: He did not mention US service members killed in Afghanistan.
- 43:34Speaker 2: He did not mention US service members killed by Iranian
- 43:37Speaker 2: backed proxies in the Middle East. He did not mention
- 43:39Speaker 2: gas prices. He did not mention TikTok or China uh.
- 43:44Speaker 2: He did not mention North Korea. He didn't mention Cuba.
- 43:47Speaker 2: He didn't mention school choice. He didn't mention the classified
- 43:51Speaker 2: doc scandal. He didn't mention Hunter Biden or the Biden corruption.
- 43:54Speaker 2: He did not mention fossil fuels. He did not mention
- 43:57Speaker 2: deporting illegals. He did not mention border wall, he did
- 44:01Speaker 2: not mention the attacks on pregnancy centers, and he did
- 44:03Speaker 2: not mention China's human rights abuses. Notice a lot of
- 44:07Speaker 2: those connect with people that have given money the Biden
- 44:10Speaker 2: crime family.
- 44:12Speaker 1: I'll leave it with that center your reaction.
- 44:15Speaker 3: Well, but do you have anything to say about how
- 44:16Speaker 3: many chips are in a bag of chips?
- 44:18Speaker 5: I think you know, I think he did touch on
- 44:21Speaker 5: that important subject.
- 44:22Speaker 3: Do you know the state of the Union may be
- 44:25Speaker 3: in trouble, but the state of chips is really in trouble.
- 44:29Speaker 2: There you go, Michael, Hey, welcome back, my friend. Always
