- 0:00What are we setting people up for?
- 0:01Are we setting people up? Choose purpose over pleasure and
- 0:04live a life of honoring God with your body so that the actual
- 0:08thing you will want when you're in your 30s or 40s, which is a
- 0:10family you can actually have and thrive.
- 0:12In it's just hard when your circle is people didn't live
- 0:14that way. They don't think it's normal
- 0:16when you're in it. It seems so foreign.
- 0:18I totally can see that. But it also is so natural when
- 0:21you're in it. It's like, yeah, we don't have
- 0:23sex before marriage. Like that's that's our culture.
- 0:25We don't do that, you know? Hey guys, welcome back to the
- 0:32Lila Rose podcast. Today I'm going to sit down with
- 0:35my good friend Ruslan KD. He's an amazing YouTube.
- 0:39He has been on the podcast before.
- 0:42Last time he was on, he talked about his amazing story of
- 0:44coming to the United States as an immigrant as a young kid.
- 0:47He talked about his conversion story.
- 0:49We talked about red pill, masculinity, femininity.
- 0:53Today we're going to talk about how we were both on the Whatever
- 0:55podcast recently debating people involved in the pornography
- 0:59industry. We're going to talk about our
- 1:00takeaways from that. We're also going to talk about
- 1:02media, sexual morality at large in our culture, how things are
- 1:05shifting. And we also talk about
- 1:07fundamentalism and why people, some of them raised in
- 1:10fundamentalist households, go on to reject how they were raised
- 1:14entirely and become maybe far left politically and that
- 1:18phenomenon in connection with evangelicalism and Catholicism.
- 1:22So it's a great conversation. I want to thank our sponsor for
- 1:26this episode, which is 7 weeks coffee.

- 2:48Thanks for coming back on the podcast, Ruslan.
- 2:50I'm back. I'm flattered.
- 2:52Whenever I'm asked to come back, that means that the first one
- 2:54went. People loved it.
- 2:56You're like the YouTube star, so you're crushing it on YouTube.
- 2:59Yeah, that was a fun conversation.
- 3:01It was a. Conversation.
- 3:02Yeah. So I'm glad to be back.
- 3:03Good. Well, we were just on the
- 3:05Whatever podcast, so we're going to talk about that.
- 3:07And I think when we talked, it was now two or three months ago,
- 3:09maybe three. It was one of my first episodes
- 3:12actually with this whole podcast exploration thing, which is very
- 3:15exciting. And you've since blown up.
- 3:18We're growing, thank, thank God. Yeah, we've got amazing
- 3:20listeners who are really engaged.
- 3:22It's really exciting. Some great sponsors.
- 3:24So I'm I'm having a blast. But we're we're in your
- 3:27footsteps person following you in your footsteps.
- 3:30But when we first talked, we were talking about your story,
- 3:33which is amazing. And then we were talking about
- 3:34red pill and I was kind of asking you what is this red pill
- 3:37thing? Because I was getting my first
- 3:39sort of understanding of it at the time and I think there's
- 3:43been a lot of water under the bridge over the last few months,
- 3:45even just going on whatever a few times and.
- 3:47How many times have you been on? Whatever.
- 3:48Three times. Three times and you helped get
- 3:50Trent Horn. Yes, on whatever.
- 3:52Which was amazing. Horn crushed it.
- 3:54He crushed it. He did a very good job.
- 3:55Did an amazing job that was I think arguably the best pro-life
- 4:00debate that I've ever seen. I like obviously yours with
- 4:04Brenda from Goddess Grey, but she just wasn't very prepared.
- 4:08She's not. I think her position is more put
- 4:11everything on the wall and she would stick.
- 4:13Destiny has a very specific position which is actually
- 4:16unique for a pro abortion advocate.
- 4:18And so that makes it, I think a more deeply engaging debate.
- 4:23So I thought it was really so. Kudos to you for immersing
- 4:26yourself all the way into the red pill space.
- 4:30You're like a household name now.
- 4:31Oh, I. Don't know.
- 4:32I mean is is whatever like red pill?
- 4:35Is that like the official? I would say so, yeah, I would
- 4:38say like the fresh and fit, the fresh and fit and whatever.
- 4:41And I would say now that Fresh and Fit is demonetized on
- 4:44YouTube, I'm not sure if you saw that.
- 4:45Development. I think I saw that.
- 4:46Yeah, yeah. So they got demonetized on
- 4:48YouTube, all their channels, all their clips channels,
- 4:50everything. I think we're going to see
- 4:52whatever be the central hub for. All wow.
- 4:56Why were they? Why was Fresh and Fit
- 4:58demonetized? They were demonetized for
- 5:00probably a plethora of reasons. What most people are suspecting
- 5:05is that they had Nick Fuentes on.
- 5:08Who's a white nationalist. Like overtly isn't.
- 5:11He overly anti-Semitic. Yes, overly anti-Semitic,
- 5:14overtly racist towards black people thinks that all black
- 5:17people are a standard deviation lower on the IQ than white
- 5:21people which which is 15 points. So like if the average IQ is 15
- 5:24he thinks all black people are at 14 which is which is crazy.
- 5:27That's a crazy position to hold because it's just not scientific
- 5:30in the least. Anyway, so he was on there a
- 5:34bunch of times and then they got into a back and forth with ABBA
- 5:39and preach and did some Myron basically dressed up in like
- 5:45what looked like a hood and did like a bunch of like fairly
- 5:49overtly racist stuff and like the Hitler salute and with Nick
- 5:53Funes on the stream. And it was just it was just a
- 5:55mess. And then they were already in
- 5:57hot water because they sent a bunch of cease and desist to
- 6:01content ID strikes and YouTube was already didn't like that and
- 6:03then had to pull back. And so anyway, they were there
- 6:05was already controversy there. So I think now that they're kind
- 6:08of, I don't say they're fading and they're not relevant because
- 6:10they're huge, but they're not going to be the main hub for
- 6:15that. So I think whatever is becoming
- 6:17the the staple. Honestly, those guys clearly
- 6:20have talent, right? I mean, they're good at
- 6:23understanding how to engage people, but it just seems like a
- 6:27waste of talent to spend it on racism, sexism, misogyny,
- 6:32whatever it is. Like why that's I mean, I think
- 6:34about the Nick Fuentes guys. I've obviously heard of him
- 6:36before and and seen and it's just like, you know, the
- 6:39anti-Semitism, it's like this is a, you know, there's a real
- 6:43threat to Jewish people even in the last century.
- 6:47That's extraordinary. I mean, what happened during the
- 6:50Holocaust and the lack of sort of seriousness with which they
- 6:53take not just other people, but themselves.
- 6:56You know, it's it's a it's a tragedy to me.
- 6:58I mean, it's obviously offensive and wrong and stuff, but it's
- 7:00like it's just a lack a loss of talent.
- 7:02Like you could use your talents for good things, you know.
- 7:05So maybe that will happen. Who knows?
- 7:06You know, anything can happen. But yeah, it might be a wake up
- 7:09call. For it would be interesting to
- 7:10see how the space shapes out now because people have seen the
- 7:15Sneak OS and the Andrew Tates. All these guys have distanced
- 7:19themselves from the community, the main hub.
- 7:21Because of the racism. No, they're probably more unlike
- 7:24because they're Muslim now and they see how incoherent of a
- 7:28position it is to say the way we bring back traditional marriage
- 7:31is by telling guys to increase their notch count, right?
- 7:35Like it's such a backwards position.
- 7:37And so Sneako got into a big debate with Rallo and that was a
- 7:41big mess. Sneako was on the Sneako and
- 7:43Destiny were on one side of the debate.
- 7:45Really interesting. That's awesome.
- 7:46And they were debating against like some of these prescriptions
- 7:49from the Red Pill on fresh and Fit.
- 7:50So that was a big deal. They had multiple conversations.
- 7:52So anyway, like there's so much infighting in that world that it
- 7:56seems like the Whatever podcast is like the last like thriving
- 8:00community. And the difference with them is
- 8:02that I could tell from interacting with Brian, he's
- 8:04substantially more shrewd and careful, even with the Super
- 8:08chest that he'll allow on the screen.
- 8:10What conversations? Like they avoided the
- 8:12conversations about Transformers when we were on there, right?
- 8:16That's I use that for code. So I think he's way more shrewd
- 8:19and careful with the community guidelines, which is probably
- 8:21why he'll be around. Yeah, I think it's such a unique
- 8:23place on the Internet to have a space where people from
- 8:27extraordinarily different backgrounds and world views and
- 8:30behavior sets are coming together to talk very candidly
- 8:34and in a very vulnerable way. I feel.
- 8:36I mean, the people just kind of sharing about their very
- 8:39personal lives in a way that is not there to, like, shame each
- 8:42other. I don't think that that is the.
- 8:44That's not my experience on the show anyways.
- 8:46Like people generally, they're very courteous with each other.
- 8:50I mean, generally, right? Generally there's like some
- 8:53weird stuff that can happen, but I think that's a very unique
- 8:56thing happening on the Internet, right?
- 8:57Yeah, I think going on there and interacting on our episode with
- 9:03Christie and the other lady it, I'll be honest, I've never met
- 9:08people like that before. I've never met people that
- 9:10profess to be people of faith that were OK with stuff like
- 9:14only fans and we're creating only fans.
- 9:17I I don't know anyone like that. But haven't you heard them?
- 9:20People say that they're spiritual, but then they're
- 9:22involved and like, yeah. But I've never heard anyone own
- 9:24being a Catholic or own being a. Christian.
- 9:26Well, I say I go to church. And did she say she goes to
- 9:29church? She goes to church.
- 9:30The the not Christie, but the other girl.
- 9:31The other girl, but she wasn't, she wasn't involved.
- 9:33In that, she wasn't. She was a public.
- 9:35That was a difference because I do think Christie said she was a
- 9:38spiritual and she was like, you know, she was both Catholic, but
- 9:41then like New Agey it sounded, which don't coexist, of course,
- 9:46but it wasn't that she was like living out that face by a
- 9:49weekly, going to weekly mass or anything.
- 9:50But then the other girl who wasn't living only fans, it
- 9:52seems like she was trying to. Live.
- 9:54I think she was a casual churchgoer.
- 9:56Yeah, I. Think she would go casually and
- 9:58So what Rallo rails against Rallo's the guy who read, who
- 10:02wrote the book is he rails against this idea of women who
- 10:06are promiscuous in their 20s. They hit what he calls the wall
- 10:09and then they end up in church. And this is all in his religion
- 10:12book. And then they want to find a
- 10:14beta guy to settle down with because they've lived out their
- 10:17wild 20s and. And generally speaking, I think
- 10:21it's nonsense. Yeah, I was going to say I know
- 10:23a lot of people and yes, I'm very blessed that the people, a
- 10:26lot of the people I know are like really driving towards good
- 10:29things. Like they're involved in
- 10:30pro-life worker like, you know, so they're like the really like
- 10:32cream of the crop in terms of just like their hearts are
- 10:35trying to do good things, but I don't I don't know.
- 10:37I. Don't know anyone people like
- 10:38that. Who are these?
- 10:39People that everyone's talking about, I know I'm not saying
- 10:42they never exist, but. I don't have a handful of guys
- 10:45and I could think of one girl that's kind of been around the
- 10:48church, but I don't know a lot of people like that.
- 10:50But to be fair. So when they're railing against
- 10:54these like modern woman, that is the avatar they have in their
- 10:56head. And the issue becomes a hasty
- 10:58generalization where you think all women or most women or the
- 11:01majority of women are like that and they're not.
- 11:05It's such a stat that is not the majority of now.
- 11:08Maybe that's the majority of women in their circles in Miami,
- 11:11in LA, at the club, right? Maybe that's the type of women
- 11:14that show up to the club and they have a lot of partners and
- 11:17all that, which is like that's even relative.
- 11:18Like, I think, you know, 30 sounds like a lot of partners,
- 11:21which is what she she said she had.
- 11:22And it's not to shame those people because I do believe
- 11:24redemption is possible and I do believe restoration is possible,
- 11:28but it is to be sober and say, Hey, just so you know, like
- 11:31don't do this. And if you've gone through it,
- 11:33just be aware that you will require some work.
- 11:36There will be work that goes into just like my friends who,
- 11:40who are guys who've racked up their notch count, They have
- 11:44struggles in future relationships.
- 11:46They struggle to pair bond. They struggle to have a
- 11:50functioning relationship and they have to go to therapy and
- 11:53do this work or they'll go into their 40s single and be
- 11:57miserable. And I have guys on both.
- 11:59I got guys really trying to do work and I got guys that are not
- 12:02happy. And I think it's a good point
- 12:04because I mean, and I remember on the podcast, I think we were
- 12:06both making the point that from a spiritual perspective, God
- 12:09totally can wipe away past sin. And like forgiveness is real,
- 12:13especially when there's repentance, we can receive
- 12:14forgiveness. But at the same time, there's
- 12:17natural consequences for our actions.
- 12:19And I think there's sort of a mythology today that hook up sex
- 12:23or even just not even hook up sex, it's not like a pure
- 12:26hookup. Maybe this is someone you've
- 12:27dated for a few times, whatever, right?
- 12:28And people say, well, that wasn't a hookup, I was dating
- 12:30them. But that it does leave a mark on
- 12:33you psychologically, emotionally, and certainly can
- 12:35leave physical marks. And I don't think those
- 12:38conversations really happen. They're starting to happen.
- 12:40They're. Starting to happen more I think
- 12:42in the on the Internet which is awesome.
- 12:44Yeah, yeah. It's the idea of the more
- 12:48partners you have, the harder it will be to pair bond.
- 12:50The harder it is to pair bond, the more likely you are to never
- 12:52make it to marriage or never last in a marriage.
- 12:56And if we know that the majority of people at some point will
- 12:59have kids in their lifetime, so then what is going to happen for
- 13:03all those people? And how did those people
- 13:04navigate? And So what are we setting
- 13:05people up for, right? Are we setting people up to go
- 13:08explore and be sexually liberated men and women, or are
- 13:11we setting people up? Restraint is a better virtue.
- 13:14Choose purpose over pleasure and live a life of honoring God with
- 13:19your body so that the actual thing you will want and you're
- 13:22in your 30s or 40s which is a family you can actually have and
- 13:25thrive in. Or you can even pursue that
- 13:27earlier. You don't have to wait for your
- 13:2830s. A lot of these folks are like,
- 13:30you know, the, the, the, the indoctrination of like, wait
- 13:32until your 30s to get married. I think the average age for men
- 13:35to get married in America is 29. Is 27 for women?
- 13:38It's so crazy because it's such a contradictory message because,
- 13:41you know, the sex education at large at least.
- 13:43Like I think about Planned Parenthood, which is I've
- 13:46invested so much and live action exposes so much, but their whole
- 13:49sex Ed and they're very influential in that space in our
- 13:52public school system at least, is that sexual experimentation
- 13:56provided it safe and consensual. Those are the only kind of
- 13:59markers. And there's their version of
- 14:00safe is like use a condom. I mean, that's really, that's it
- 14:04basically. And that kind of is not going to
- 14:05prevent you from all STI's. It's not going to fully prevent
- 14:07pregnancy, like certainly not going to prevent pair bonding
- 14:10and everything else. But their version of, you know,
- 14:14healthy experience as a kid is sexual experimentation within
- 14:18these boundaries, these kind of artificial boundaries they
- 14:20create. And they say that that's normal
- 14:23and it's healthy to do that. And I think that, you know, if
- 14:26you come in and say, well, actually, it is actually the
- 14:28most normal and the most healthy to abstain from sex until it's
- 14:33in that context of marriage, like that should be more
- 14:37normalized. It used to be normal 100, you
- 14:39know, 100 years ago, generations ago.
- 14:41And it has been normal in societies in the past, but we've
- 14:44made that abnormal now. And so, but then we tell these
- 14:47same kids who are sexually experimenting and stuff, and
- 14:50we're encouraging that, that it's not normal to get married.
- 14:54You know, like you should wait till you're 35 plus to get
- 14:57married and you have bought a house and you've paid off your
- 15:00debt. It's just like, how can these
- 15:01two things hold together that you should be having sex but you
- 15:04shouldn't get married? Right.
- 15:05Well, I remember I'm a public school kid, so I remembered sex
- 15:10Ed through high school. And even in sex Ed they would do
- 15:13this like bring in the banana and put the penis or the condom
- 15:17on the banana and this whole thing right.
- 15:19And just like but even. Gross.
- 15:21It's like this is sex, like, you know, it just I think it's just
- 15:23very offensive to the beauty of what sex is designed to be.
- 15:27But. Even in that I remember my
- 15:29teachers saying the ideal is abstinence and weight.
- 15:35But here's. How we're gonna we're gonna
- 15:38we're gonna show you how the biology works.
- 15:39OK, right. But wait, like there wasn't an A
- 15:42prescription for go experiment. Yeah, right there.
- 15:45That that what that wasn't Yeah, so.
- 15:47But I mean, granted, that was 20 years ago, right?
- 15:49So. Things have changed.
- 15:50Yeah, things have changed. And so my question then goes, if
- 15:53they're telling kids to experiment or saying that that's
- 15:57healthy, what parent of a teenager is like, yeah, come
- 16:02experiment in my home while I'm making dinner for the fan.
- 16:05Like who? Like.
- 16:06There are some, are there really?
- 16:07There are some, I mean, I know like that's crazy.
- 16:10Personal anecdotes, personal anecdotes here.
- 16:12But like some friends who weren't raised in a like a
- 16:14strong faith-based household or maybe a very strongly moral
- 16:17household. There was sort of this sort of
- 16:20acceptance of, yeah, you're gonna sleep together with your
- 16:22girlfriend. So do it while I'm in the house.
- 16:24So not necessarily well, I'm physically in the house, but do
- 16:27it with my sort of high, high view, sort of parental knowledge
- 16:32of it so that I can have some level of control.
- 16:34I mean, it's weird. It's.
- 16:35I think intuition level we yeah, that's just, that is so weird.
- 16:39I think I could see parents being like, like, I don't want
- 16:42to know about it. If you're doing it, just wear a
- 16:44condom. I could see that.
- 16:45But I can't see parents being like, I'm gonna be making dinner
- 16:49across the house and you guys go do what you want, you know, or,
- 16:52or like he can stay the night and like you, you know, I know
- 16:55what you guys are doing. That's just so we are especially
- 16:58dads and their daughters like I just.
- 17:00But that's but that's a thing like, I mean, even like the
- 17:02family vacation and the daughter brings her boyfriend and it's
- 17:04like, you know, are we going to make them sleep apart?
- 17:07I think even Christian families are wrestling with how do we
- 17:10handle this when our kids are not?
- 17:12Coming on family vacation in our home.
- 17:14Same with my home. Like, no, there's no way, right?
- 17:17But yeah, I mean he. Can meet us at the resort and
- 17:19get his own room if he wants to hang out at the pool.
- 17:22And that's it for the dinner. And then he's gone after that.
- 17:25That's crazy. Yeah, you need a strong father
- 17:29and a strong mother, you know, who are standing there and and
- 17:31strong kids. I mean, it's not like kids are
- 17:34are doomed to behave like that. Like that's the thing.
- 17:36I mean, I know it's just hard when your circle is people like
- 17:39what you were saying earlier, when your circle may be people
- 17:42that just don't understand self-control.
- 17:45They didn't live that way. They don't think it's normal to
- 17:48have sexual self-control and to have these sexual, sexual
- 17:51morality when you're in it. It seems so foreign.
- 17:54I totally can see that. But it also is so natural when
- 17:57you're in. It's like, yeah, we don't have
- 17:59sex before marriage. Like that's that's our culture.
- 18:01We don't do that, you know? But if people aren't in that
- 18:03culture, I can see why it feels so strange to them.
- 18:06Yeah, yeah. Well, just the the side of the
- 18:10catastrophe that an unwanted quote UN quote pregnancy can be,
- 18:14whether that is on the economics of somebody, if they're not
- 18:17prepared or all of a sudden terminating the baby becomes a
- 18:21liable of like a good option and then that the consequences of
- 18:25that right. So there's no real, I don't
- 18:28know, I just don't see a lot of pros.
- 18:29I don't see a lot of upside to being sexually liberated or
- 18:33experimental as a teenager. It just seems like or, or really
- 18:36through until you're married. Like I don't see the I don't
- 18:39understand the pragmatic side of it.
- 18:41I think it's just a bunch of woo woo nonsense that's like
- 18:44pseudoscience and isn't practical.
- 18:46Yeah, I agree. And it's not even being
- 18:48liberated. It's actually in a way being
- 18:50changed to your own impulses and all the consequences that come
- 18:54with them. So it creates a lot of
- 18:56brokenness for people. So what was your take after the
- 19:00podcast? So after after it was over, I
- 19:02was, you know, you're always thinking like, OK, could I what
- 19:04could I say differently or whatever?
- 19:05Did you have any, you know, thoughts afterwards about kind
- 19:09of just takeaways of I mean, one thing that kind of hit me was
- 19:13just talking with the couple Lena and Adam, Lena and Adam.
- 19:17And, you know, I kind of was just like, oh, you know, there's
- 19:21such a opportunity that they had.
- 19:24And we talked about it during the podcast.
- 19:25And they like even Adam at one point was like, yeah, what if I
- 19:28totally changed my life, you know, and I just looked at that
- 19:31and I was like, there's such an opportunity here to totally make
- 19:35make such a difference in the world by changing one's life.
- 19:38Like if they were to do that because they have this platform
- 19:40that they've built and everything else, but then it's
- 19:42hard because that whole platform that they've built is based on
- 19:44selling sex. So I can see like the tension
- 19:48there. If like we're making all this
- 19:49money, how would we? Because I, I didn't feel like
- 19:51they necessarily kept like loved what they were doing.
- 19:54I mean, they even said after maybe five years, we're going to
- 19:56wind this down. It wasn't like this joy that it
- 19:59brought them. It was more like this is a job.
- 20:01What? What did you think about that?
- 20:03I think it totally spot on about that assessment.
- 20:07I think I wish I would have pressed her harder because it
- 20:13felt like he kept speaking for her and I would ask her
- 20:15questions and then he'd kind of answer or she wouldn't get to
- 20:18speak and get cut off, you know. So I think there was that like I
- 20:21really wanted to hear more from her.
- 20:24Someone sent me one of her YouTube videos from like 5 or 6
- 20:28years ago when she first was trying to get on YouTube.
- 20:30And she has a relatively big channel.
- 20:32I don't know if she uploads anywhere, there's like a million
- 20:33subscribers or something crazy. And on that YouTube channel, she
- 20:36actually talks about how she doesn't, she didn't want to ever
- 20:39do porn. So like, I wish I could have
- 20:42talked to her more and try to bring her around and, and, and
- 20:45get like, is this what you planned for yourself?
- 20:47Right. And I think that would have been
- 20:50interesting. I, I, I text with Adam, you
- 20:53know, so I kind of understand where he's at.
- 20:55I think if they were to pivot, which I do believe.
- 20:57And I told him that afterwards, I said, Adam, I want you to know
- 20:59there's a lot of people praying for you, bro.
- 21:01There's a lot of people praying for you and there's a lot of
- 21:03people seeing that you're slowly starting to become more aware of
- 21:08that this isn't helpful, you know?
- 21:10And so I, I told him that afterwards.
- 21:12But I think just, I wish we would have had more time to kind
- 21:14of nail down the conclusions. Because I think it kept getting,
- 21:17the conversation kept getting taken to different directions
- 21:20because Christie had her input she wanted to provide and then
- 21:23everyone was kind of saying their thing and there was like
- 21:25these parallel conversations kind of happening and then
- 21:27getting interrupted it. I do remember at one point, Lena
- 21:29said that she had to be desensitized.
- 21:32The way she dealt with threesomes with her husband was
- 21:35to be used the word desensitized.
- 21:37And that's what helped her continue to do it.
- 21:40And I'm like, where's the love? And like, you know, isn't that a
- 21:44flag? And so I wish that we'd been
- 21:46able to have a conversation about that because that was, I
- 21:48think, a big, a big revelation. Even like what is what?
- 21:55What is the need to rationalize all of this when you're talking
- 21:58about, you have, you're jealous like Adam's saying like he was
- 22:02jealous when the dude did the scene and she's she was jealous
- 22:04initially and she you know what I mean?
- 22:06It's like, do you guys really think this is normal?
- 22:08Like if you really think this is how it's it's designed and then
- 22:11what is the logical conclusions of this naturalistic worldview?
- 22:14Like if you hold that there is no God and there is no objective
- 22:17morality, well, then I see how you come to these conclusions.
- 22:20But we are all acknowledging that porn is not a net positive,
- 22:25or at least I felt like they kind of acknowledged that it's
- 22:27not a net positive, that it is addictive.
- 22:29They wouldn't want their daughter.
- 22:30To do it, they wouldn't want their daughter to do it.
- 22:31So like you're, you're creating, producing, promoting the very
- 22:34things that I think on a very instinctual level, even though I
- 22:38think at that level, like your conscience is probably pretty
- 22:41sheer, like you're probably pretty detached and, and
- 22:44desensitized. But I still felt like there were
- 22:46these glimmers of like knowing right from wrong and like that,
- 22:50that Imago day there. And I wish we could have kind of
- 22:52explored that one. Yeah.
- 22:53And I thought it was kind of remarkable how there wasn't
- 22:56like, I mean, I thought from Christy as an example, when
- 23:00there was sort of clash of world views, there was like a very
- 23:02negative reaction at points from her where she's like didn't want
- 23:04to hear it, didn't want to take it, didn't agree.
- 23:06But there I didn't get that vibe at all from Adam and Lena.
- 23:11Like they seemed like they were really sincerely listening and
- 23:14almost hadn't considered some of that stuff before.
- 23:16I hadn't heard it that way before.
- 23:17Because obviously they're in their world, right?
- 23:19Doing their thing. And so it's like the world's
- 23:21colliding. And that's where, you know,
- 23:24again, I agree. I think if there had been more,
- 23:26maybe more time, I mean, I don't know if they'd ever come back
- 23:29and do like. AI reached out to him about
- 23:31about trying to have another conversation with him and he
- 23:34just was kind of like, I don't know if anyone here is
- 23:37interested in talking about religion.
- 23:38I was like, would you be open to coming on my channel?
- 23:40He said he didn't respond to me, so I'll follow up.
- 23:43But he's he follows me on Instagram, so he sees all the
- 23:44stuff I post and all the clips, you know, so we'll see.
- 23:48But I think I think I think Adam is one of those guys that is
- 23:52such an extreme. Whatever he's into, he's going
- 23:55all the way in. So it wouldn't surprise me if a
- 23:57year, five years, he completely goes the.
- 23:59Opposite, I do think one other thought I had afterwards, as was
- 24:02kind of musing about it and praying about it was that I do
- 24:06think I do wonder if part of that sort of, you know, you
- 24:10know, porn as a business and you know, where the where the porn
- 24:13stars doing all this stuff. Part of it too, is sort of to
- 24:15navigate trust dynamics in the relationship because if you're
- 24:19worried they're like, we would never cheat outside of this.
- 24:21This is the way we do sex, but we would we are faithful, right?
- 24:24Remember, they kept that. Was such a weird
- 24:26compartmentalization. I agree, but that's what I was
- 24:28thinking. It's like, it almost is like
- 24:31Lena's OK, this is what I was wondering.
- 24:32Like, and I would, I would love to like ask her and see what she
- 24:35thinks if she'd be willing to like have the conversation.
- 24:37But like, is Lena like doing this because this is kind of her
- 24:41way to allow sort of promiscuity within the relationship because
- 24:45she's afraid we can't have a relationship without any
- 24:49promiscuity. So this is kind of her way to
- 24:52have a piece of it and to kind of control it.
- 24:54So that's one thing I did think afterwards, because if, you
- 24:56know, he comes from this Playboy, Playboy past, she knew
- 24:59what she was getting into. She's sort of like, I'll be part
- 25:01of this world with you, but on my terms.
- 25:03So she creates these sort of like artificial terms that she's
- 25:05still not comfortable with. She's disassociating.
- 25:07She's saying she's desensitized, but she's still saying, oh, I'm
- 25:10having fun too. Like she's kind of giving that
- 25:11language to it. But at the end of the day, this
- 25:13is kind of her way to have some sort of control.
- 25:16I don't know. So that's a.
- 25:18Scary thing to marry someone, have a child with someone.
- 25:21And they both come from fairly conservative backgrounds, like
- 25:24his parents were Christian. Her parents are Armenian, which
- 25:28I think she talks about coming from a conservative home in that
- 25:30video somebody sent me. Yeah.
- 25:31So I I'm praying for them. I've been praying for Adam for a
- 25:33long time. There's a lot of folks praying
- 25:35for him. So I think I don't, I don't
- 25:37think that's done. And I what I didn't want them to
- 25:40to to feel is beat up. Yeah, because that's what the
- 25:44internet's kind of done to them. And and and to an extent like
- 25:47rightfully so, right, Because they put out some but.
- 25:49They're also I mean. They're profiting off of it.
- 25:52They're profiting off of. It so I think that's the tricky
- 25:54part. It's like if you're going to go
- 25:56to profit off of something very dark, yes and you expect to not
- 25:59get beat up yes, it's sort of because I mean I get beat up for
- 26:02pro-life work like we all get beat up on the Internet for
- 26:04something. You know that's the Internet.
- 26:06So it's like choose your whip battle.
- 26:08Are you going to? What sword are you going to die
- 26:10on? I was hoping to like get, just
- 26:14keep asking questions and ultimately like point them to
- 26:17something higher. You know, that was like my my
- 26:19heart and I and I think we did that.
- 26:20I think I think you did a great job.
- 26:22I think ultimately you did that. I feel like that conversation
- 26:25would have been more productive without obviously Christie in
- 26:27the room, but she was interesting too.
- 26:29She was. She was, you know.
- 26:30They could have been two separate conversations,
- 26:31honestly, because they were kind of separate tracks, but they
- 26:35kind of ended up colliding a lot, so that created some.
- 26:37Of them, they had her back Sunday right away.
- 26:39Yeah, I did see that. Which is hilarious.
- 26:41Which which again, from their standpoint, I get it, they're
- 26:45they're trying to make money. The chat is going to dunk on
- 26:48her. He's going to make more of the
- 26:50the Super chats, right? It's a it's genius.
- 26:54Like, I get it from his standpoint, but I'm sitting here
- 26:56thinking like you weren't really trying to have like a good
- 27:01debate on this. Like you were trying to have
- 27:03just. Well, I think that's what
- 27:05happened with the debate I did with Destiny originally because
- 27:07I think I think Ryan, like you said, is shrewd.
- 27:10He's got, he's a businessman, you know, this is a business for
- 27:13him. And I do think like he's trying
- 27:15to create these sort of shows that include characters that
- 27:19could potentially be villains or the like kind of heroes or like
- 27:23the more sane person versus the villain.
- 27:26And then sometimes like the villain is actually the same
- 27:28person in disguise. And so people hate the same
- 27:30person. So I think that's part of like
- 27:32the dynamics of the show that he's dating.
- 27:35And that's what was tough about the show that I did with
- 27:38debating Destiny is, you know, it ended up being like, you
- 27:41know, this odd match where I was debating destiny and he, you
- 27:46know, it's sometimes the villain and sometimes the hero,
- 27:48depending on the audience, right for what it was.
- 27:50And I wanted to do the best job I could of presenting the
- 27:52pro-life case, but there wasn't a setup.
- 27:54And then I, I was kind of two against one partnered with, you
- 27:58know, someone I know I've known for years, but totally different
- 28:01style, different approach, not someone I would, you know,
- 28:04choose to sit down to do a debate with, you know, And so
- 28:06it's kind of like this odd bunch and it was chaotic and I think
- 28:09it got a lot of views, but you know, people were like, I hate
- 28:12watching this. It's killing my, you know, brain
- 28:14waves and stuff. And it's like, I get why, but
- 28:16it's like, like people like to sometimes watch the train wreck,
- 28:20but I felt like it was a missed opportunity.
- 28:21I know I could have done better, but I also think the the cards
- 28:24were kind of stacked with the way it was set up and like me
- 28:26being partnered with someone that wasn't really partnered for
- 28:28me. But so I was glad that Trent did
- 28:31such a solid job afterwards, you know, with another debate, but.
- 28:35I was hoping more of that conversation and like the other
- 28:38way, Trent and Destiny's conversation with the other
- 28:40conversation, so. I think we could have had it if
- 28:43it had just been me and Destiny one-on-one, or if we had just
- 28:45had a different setup with different people in addition to
- 28:49us. But I actually got really good
- 28:50advice from Trent afterwards because we were messaging about
- 28:52it and he was like, he was saying that he's very picky
- 28:56about who he allows to debate with him.
- 29:00And I'd never really thought about that, to be honest, like
- 29:02because and I went and I'm like, I'm not going to say don't have,
- 29:05you know, Kristen Hawkins on the show.
- 29:06I'm not going to like tell her. You know, that would just be, it
- 29:08felt like that would be mean. But Trent was like, hey, if he
- 29:12thinks someone is not going to be a good partner for him, he
- 29:14won't show or he will say, I'm not going to do it.
- 29:18And so I was like, that's actually really good advice
- 29:20because they can totally change the debate and the impression of
- 29:23the debate depending on who is next to you.
- 29:25Well, I think at his level, as good as he is is, he's probably
- 29:29just learned that through experience.
- 29:30That's something I wouldn't know.
- 29:31I'd just be like, dude, you've gone to whatever podcast again.
- 29:34Like great, right? But.
- 29:36Then you don't think about like, what happens when the
- 29:38conversation gets totally derailed, you know?
- 29:40So yeah, that's good. And I think Trenton has a lot of
- 29:42wisdom and he's a really good, He's really good at what he does
- 29:45and. He's been, he's been very
- 29:47faithfully doing his work for ever since I've known him.
- 29:50I think it's been a decade and he's just gets, he's getting
- 29:52better and better. Yeah, he's amazing.
- 29:53Yeah. So I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm grateful
- 29:55that you were able to help facilitate that conversation
- 29:58because I feel like that is there, that is a Evergreen piece
- 30:03of material that when I'm having conversations with people in my
- 30:06real life, like, look, listen, just go and watch this, like
- 30:08watch this all the way through. And I promise you, you're not
- 30:11going to like, this isn't a coherent position.
- 30:14This does not make. Sense even even if it's as
- 30:16carefully and you know, specifically presented as
- 30:19Destiny's, it still fails. Like you could argue Destiny's
- 30:23position is the best argument. You know, some people would say
- 30:25that. I don't agree with that
- 30:26actually, but I do think it's a strong one if amongst the weak
- 30:29humans of pro abortion. And yeah, it's a, it's an
- 30:32excellent dismantling of it. Yeah, I sat down with a
- 30:34progressive Christian this past week, had a four and a half hour
- 30:37conversation. That conversation came up and
- 30:40his position, which was wild, was up until birth and I was.
- 30:47Like as a progressive. Christian as a progressive
- 30:48Christian. And I said because he's like, I
- 30:50know. Progressive atheists who are
- 30:52fully anti abortion. Yeah, and he.
- 30:53But so sad. And I said, what makes the birth
- 30:56canal unique? And he said the first breath.
- 30:59And I said, so that's that's the line.
- 31:03And I said, just so, you know, like Destiny's line, who's in,
- 31:06you know, like this is the way they debated.
- 31:08And it was at 20 weeks and you're like 39 weeks.
- 31:10Like I could see an instance where the mother's mental health
- 31:13can allow for that. And I'm like, oh, that's.
- 31:16That's dark. All right, man, And that's what
- 31:17I said to him. I said that's, that's dark,
- 31:20that's dark. But sometimes you just got to
- 31:21let people flesh out their their positions.
- 31:24Like you're claiming to be a Christian, but then your
- 31:25position is this and. Had he ever talked that
- 31:28progressive Christian you spoke with for 4 1/2 hours?
- 31:30Had he ever talked to someone who had clear minded, you know,
- 31:35they had thought through their positions, Orthodox Christian
- 31:37beliefs for that long? No, no, I not for that long.
- 31:41He has debated people before. To his credit, he's and he's a
- 31:44good, he's a good guy. He's he's my friend.
- 31:45He's a, he's a, he's a friend. I have, I have Adams and other
- 31:49folks like that in my real life, right.
- 31:51And so I don't mind having these.
- 31:52Conversations. Publicly.
- 31:53So, yeah, he's he's a guy named Tim from the New Evangelicals.
- 31:57They work a lot in the deconstruction, deconversion
- 32:00world of people from the evangelical circles.
- 32:02And that's the kind of work it says queer firming, pro-choice,
- 32:05all the things like it's just, it's almost like, I don't say
- 32:08radical because he wouldn't appreciate it, but it's like
- 32:10leftist Christianity. I don't, I don't know how to
- 32:12describe it. They're more socialist, not
- 32:14quite Marxist, but they're more socialist and like, so across
- 32:17the board, like name an issue. He's going to be on the left
- 32:19side of that issue for the most part.
- 32:21Trans Pro, all that stuff. What?
- 32:23Do you think that as you've done, do you think it's there's
- 32:26still that very deep attraction to Jesus Christ because he is
- 32:30the most attractive? You know, he is God and he is
- 32:34perfect and the historian history is so even just some
- 32:38from a historical perspective is so incredibly captivating and
- 32:41compelling. And so they're like, they're
- 32:43drawn to that. They know that's true.
- 32:45They want to be part of that, but then they're holding on to
- 32:48leftism. So I think it starts the other
- 32:50way. They're they're on the more
- 32:53fundamental side, they're. Fundamentalist.
- 32:56Yeah, they're fundamentalist and but they don't know they're
- 32:59fundamentalist. Wait, so hold on, they they're
- 33:01ex fundamentalist? Yeah, so this is how I describe
- 33:04it. So you, you guys in the in the
- 33:07Catholic tradition, there's system and order and hierarchy
- 33:12and tradition in the. Protestant.
- 33:16There's just the truth that undergraduate.
- 33:18Yeah, yeah. In the in the in the Protestant
- 33:20tradition, it's anchored on the Protestant Reformation, which
- 33:25which I think is significant. Which is a big no to basically
- 33:29authority. Yes, exactly.
- 33:31And So what what happens within the Protestant is you just we,
- 33:35you kept protesting over and over and over.
- 33:38So Protestants naturally have this like skepticism towards
- 33:41authority and towards tradition and towards these things.
- 33:43And So what what happens is a lot of these folks,
- 33:46unfortunately, they grow up and what they think are cortical
- 33:50evangelical circles, but what they're really growing up in our
- 33:54fundamentalist circles that are like evangelical adjacent.
- 33:57This is what I mean. There's, there's two streams in
- 34:00the last 100 and just call it the last 100 years of, of
- 34:03Protestants, right, that are probably most mainline in
- 34:06America. One stream, because I'm not
- 34:08talking about Europe and the rest of the world, but one
- 34:09stream would be the stream that I come from, which is like the
- 34:11Billy Graham, the Jesus Revolution, the Greg Glories,
- 34:16the Calvary Chapel. Yeah.
- 34:17So there's that stream. That stream is extremely
- 34:21different. And by the way, and that stream
- 34:23was against racism and for civil rights and against the Vietnam
- 34:26War. And we're kind of a lot of those
- 34:28guys were hippies that got saved.
- 34:29The other stream is like the Jerry Falwell Bob Jones.
- 34:34Is that like a Southern Baptist? Base no Southern Southern
- 34:37Southern Baptist is interesting because Southern Baptist kind of
- 34:39became more evangelical overtime but it's still that's such a
- 34:42broad denomination and of itself.
- 34:45But these folks over here the Jerry the the the Bob Jones, the
- 34:48Jerry Falwell, they're more in the fundamentalist hyper literal
- 34:52view of Scripture hyper the Bible is the literal words of
- 34:57God. No Jesus is the word of God.
- 35:00Jesus is the logos. The Bible is Scriptures inspired
- 35:04a man of a God's work with man right and this is this is how
- 35:09Catholics view the Bible. This is how Eastern Orthodox
- 35:11view the Bible is how the Oriental Orthodox and.
- 35:13So on the Canon of the Bible that both Catholics and
- 35:16Protestants accept, largely because Catholics have a few
- 35:19more books that Martin Luther, you know, wanted to kick out.
- 35:23But ultimately, that Canon comes from the Catholic Church's
- 35:26authority. Right, right, right.
- 35:28So. So there's so.
- 35:29There's so there's like practically the way this is
- 35:34fleshed out is practically similar to the other forearms of
- 35:38the church in the fundamentalist tradition.
- 35:41The other forearms of the church aren't really saved.
- 35:43Catholics aren't really saved. Eastern Orthodox aren't really
- 35:46saved. They they, they're corrupted
- 35:48influence. So there's fundamentalist
- 35:50Calvinists and then there's Calvinists like Gavin Ortland,
- 35:53who is an amazing Calvinist. I think he's debated Trent Horn
- 35:55and he's like, he's a he's, he's like Catholics are my brothers
- 35:59and sisters in the Lord, right? Trent Horn would say I'm
- 36:01brother, sister in the Lord, right.
- 36:02So there's these different, but with the difference is, is like
- 36:05within Catholicism or within Eastern Orthodox, their systems
- 36:09and structures, and within Protestantism there's more
- 36:11protests and often times it just gets confusing.
- 36:14So I say all that to say, a lot of these folks are coming from
- 36:18these traditions. They don't know that like
- 36:22literal 6 state creationism is not an essential belief in the
- 36:27Christian tradition. There's all kinds of views on
- 36:29creation, right? And so they, they're taught that
- 36:32this is it. Or like dinosaurs and humans
- 36:34lived on the earth together, right?
- 36:36Like they're taught these. Things it really resonates
- 36:38because when I was growing up, so I was raised evangelical and
- 36:42I was homeschooled and I had a ton of like my larger sort of
- 36:45community and I went to like the junior college and I did so I
- 36:48kind of this very kind of unique educational path, I guess.
- 36:51But so I got to like rub arms with a lot of different kinds of
- 36:53people, not homeschool kids, but the homeschool kids I knew a lot
- 36:57of them I think came from very fundamentalist homes.
- 37:01And my home wasn't the same, but they kind of could maybe look
- 37:04the same if you just glanced at them in terms of like what we
- 37:07both were part of homeschool speech and debate, you know, so
- 37:09you, we both were Christian. So therefore my experience was
- 37:11the same. And so they come from these very
- 37:13fundamentalist homes where I think they were taught by their
- 37:16parents and by their kind of church community some things
- 37:19that they experienced on a very primordial level that brought a
- 37:23lot of shame, judgment, heartbreak, confusion.
- 37:27And so they ended up reacting really strongly against it and
- 37:31became very far left and hate all, not just Protestantism, but
- 37:36Catholic like just hate all of it.
- 37:39But then they kind of create some sort of a spirituality
- 37:42sometimes. Like I'm thinking about one in
- 37:43particular who has a spirituality he's created where
- 37:46he, I think believes in Jesus still, but you know, certainly
- 37:50not anything that you could trace and sort of Christianity
- 37:53at large. And then he has this, some of
- 37:56the beliefs sound very beautiful, but then he's, you
- 37:58know, super pro abortion, you know, super pro LGBTQ, plus I
- 38:03whatever as an identity and all of this stuff.
- 38:06And I see it whenever I look at this and this group of people,
- 38:08I'm thinking like a lot of them are acquaintances, or at least
- 38:11you know, some of them friends. I see just a lot of pain.
- 38:14Like they're still feeling the pain of what they felt as kids.
- 38:18And the way that they kind of deal with the pain is to just
- 38:22reject anything that looks like what they were raised with us
- 38:27kids. And yeah, I don't know, just it
- 38:30kind of breaks my heart because, you know, it's almost like
- 38:34always running against something and, you know, then latching on
- 38:39to other things that just look the opposite of what they were
- 38:42told. And that seems to be the
- 38:46psychology of it. That seems to be you were very
- 38:50extreme and one set of views and then you just kind of pulled on
- 38:54that thread. So for him, it was specifically
- 38:58Trump. He was told character matters.
- 39:02We have to be of noble character.
- 39:04We have to have all these values we have.
- 39:05To fidelity matters. All these things matters.
- 39:08And then he saw. Propriety matters.
- 39:09All of these people all the sudden supported a president
- 39:13that didn't have any of those virtues.
- 39:16And the response was we need a commander in chief, not a
- 39:19commander and pastor. And he was like, what?
- 39:22Like. And so he was conservative up
- 39:24until. That and that's a very fair what
- 39:27to ask because it doesn't make a lot of sense when yes, you, you,
- 39:32we should want a representation of character in our political
- 39:35leaders. That is not a crazy thing to
- 39:37request, I think, and to and to demand.
- 39:40Actually, and I, I did not vote for Trump either time, but I
- 39:43think there's a difference between saying, all right, we're
- 39:48going to just swallow our pride and this guy, if you, if you're,
- 39:53if you're a Republican, this guy, he's going to get his
- 39:55Supreme Court justices. It's going to help long term.
- 39:58I, I, I got to hold my nose. I can't, I can't stand his
- 40:01character and and being quiet about it.
- 40:04Versus being like yay MAGA country.
- 40:07But they had to go all I think their justification because I
- 40:10also did not vote for Trump either time, which you know
- 40:12makes me I have been very people have been very upset with me for
- 40:16that. But but anyways, I think the
- 40:19problem, you know, my problem with doing that, you know, our
- 40:22problem is like, OK, if no one had voted for Trump, we wouldn't
- 40:26have Roe V. Wade overruled right now is what
- 40:28people say now. Is that for sure true?
- 40:31Like take us 10 steps back. If no one had voted for Trump
- 40:34and he wasn't the nominee in the primary.
- 40:37Yeah, meeting this like it's not a binary.
- 40:39There were a lot of steps that led up and a lot of I think
- 40:42rationalizations that led up to the point where we had Biden
- 40:46versus Trump, right. And a lot of I think the
- 40:50rationalizations and some even excuses that made us say, oh,
- 40:54he's the best candidate, You know, and again, not everyone
- 40:56did that. A lot of people wanted other
- 40:57candidates and then they had to, you know, hold the nose for
- 40:59Trump or whatever. But I, you know, I keep it comes
- 41:01back to like principle again and again.
- 41:03It's like, what is the the right thing to do?
- 41:06If everyone just did the right thing, we wouldn't find
- 41:09ourselves in the hole, you know? But it takes a lot of courage to
- 41:12do the right thing. And it takes there's
- 41:14consequences too, because you might be in the hole for a long.
- 41:18You might be still in the hole doing the right thing for a long
- 41:20time. Yeah.
- 41:21Yeah. No, that's good.
- 41:22And I think for folks who found themselves on that and we're
- 41:26just looking at it objectively and it's like, man, this guy
- 41:29seems not very reflective of Christian conservative values.
- 41:32And yet all the Christians and conservatives I know in my life
- 41:34got behind him. I could understand how that can
- 41:37start to unravel. The rest of the I got, I got to
- 41:40justify how to line up with a six day literal creation.
- 41:45I got to justify how to line up with these other and I made some
- 41:48gay friends and they're really nice.
- 41:49You mean to tell me that that's wrong?
- 41:51Wow, they're so sweet. And also not just that it's
- 41:53wrong, but I think especially like the homeschool kids I know
- 41:55growing up, like sex was seen as like a shameful thing.
- 41:58Or if you did any sexual mistake, not even just
- 42:03intercourse, but you like did anything sexual, then you were,
- 42:06you know, basically like a bruised individual, like you had
- 42:10given away something that you could never get back.
- 42:12And so there was that kind of like present language around sex
- 42:16of like your virginity is a present.
- 42:18That yeah, that's a lot of purity culture.
- 42:19Which is really dangerous when you consider like sexual
- 42:22assault, which is way too common.
- 42:24It's like, did I lose my present by axe?
- 42:26Like by no fault of my own, it was taken from me.
- 42:28And I don't like that language. I don't think it's a correct
- 42:31view of the person. Like you are a gift, yes, but
- 42:33it's not like your virginity is a gift.
- 42:34You are a gift that deserves to not be violated.
- 42:38And another person is the gift. The virginity is not the gift.
- 42:41You are the gift. But anyways, that confusion and,
- 42:45you know, shame around sexuality.
- 42:46I can totally see where someone's like, what the heck,
- 42:48These gay people are lovely. Like, you guys are a bunch of
- 42:51bigots. Like I'm done with this stuff.
- 42:53And that's how you go and you just basically flip to the total
- 42:58opposite extreme on everything. And then you some people hold on
- 43:01to a little bit of Jesus. My friend Sam would say he still
- 43:05affirms the bodily resurrection. He still believes the Scripture
- 43:09is still inspired and sacred to some extent.
- 43:12I don't know if he would, but but he would definitely not view
- 43:14it as all authoritative. And so like when I'm trying to
- 43:16have a conversation about Romans 1 and homosexuality, he's just
- 43:19like, look, man, I'm not a Bible scholar.
- 43:21I just, I disagree with Paul on stuff.
- 43:22I think it's up for interpretation.
- 43:24And I'm just like, I don't know how Romans runs up for
- 43:26temperation. So you, you know, and then other
- 43:28people just completely be convert and completely walk away
- 43:31from all of it. And it but there is a common
- 43:36avatar that I see with folks in that space.
- 43:39And it is, I think it's, it's a pressure to want to conform to
- 43:44cultural expectations, right? So as things drift more left,
- 43:48you kind of want to be in those spaces and accepted in those
- 43:51spaces. But I pointed to a study to him
- 43:55of how the first time in a while the country is becoming more
- 43:59morally conservative. So I don't know if you ever saw
- 44:01that chart, but there's a chart that came out and it was like,
- 44:05what do you find this act morally acceptable or not?
- 44:08It had everything from homosexual relationships to.
- 44:13Bestiality. Bestiality, but it but it even
- 44:16had birth control. So like birth control went down
- 44:18from like 92. I find it morally acceptable to
- 44:20like 88. It's a good dip.
- 44:22And it's this whole chart. And so like I like I go over the
- 44:24chart with him. Like why do you think the
- 44:25country is shifting more morally conservative on a lot of these
- 44:28issues? And he just kind of dismissed it
- 44:31as like the right wing Trump. No, it was like Daily Wire.
- 44:37I'm. Joking that it was.
- 44:39Trump that world is what's causing this and they they make
- 44:42$300 million a year that. I mean, last Easter, I think I
- 44:45knew a dozen people that came into the Catholic Church, a lot
- 44:48of them young people. So I don't think I think it's
- 44:50much deeper than like political identification.
- 44:54It's way deeper. I think so too, because people,
- 44:56they realize, I think once they sit down and remove the like,
- 45:00allow themselves to take a moment away from the reaction of
- 45:05shame, anger, betrayal, like whatever it was that hurt them
- 45:08as a child or hurt them in their past from the fundamentalist
- 45:12church community or whatever it was, right?
- 45:14And then they kind of take the time to really, I think, think
- 45:16about like, what is what is this all about?
- 45:19What is this all for human beings?
- 45:21Like, what are we made for? What is sex made for?
- 45:23I think a lot of these answers can come naturally.
- 45:26They can. And I think for a lot of people
- 45:28they are, I see that. I see people, I actually know
- 45:32people who have been through the sort of rebellious stage of
- 45:36their fundamentalism, right. And then they become Catholic
- 45:40because like you see like, and I think it actually may be part of
- 45:44that is it's easier for them to become Catholic in a sense,
- 45:46because a lot of the fundies are extremely anti Catholic.
- 45:49So, but it's like, what are you going to pick?
- 45:51Like, you know, far left Christianity or Catholicism,
- 45:57which I believe is true, you know, it's Catholic is universal
- 46:01and you have the fullness of the faith of Jesus.
- 46:04And you know, you have, you know, you have the church and
- 46:06then you have like the moral path that's not given to you to
- 46:08shame you, but to guide you, right.
- 46:10And it's so freeing and it's so beautiful.
- 46:13Once you start to learn about it and you see people living it, it
- 46:15just, it's very winsome. So that that's what gives me
- 46:18hopes. And I think that's behind the
- 46:19numbers you're mentioning is that people are waking up not in
- 46:23reaction to what they are rejecting, but they're waking up
- 46:27to embrace something good that they want to receive and accept.
- 46:32It's because natural law is true, right?
- 46:36Saint Thomas acquaintance like it's because it's true and I
- 46:38think people are seeing that and it's intrinsic.
- 46:41And so I think, yeah, I think that's why we're seeing the
- 46:43country shift that way. I don't know what that means for
- 46:46the progressive Christian world. I don't know how they reconcile
- 46:49some of these things or if they don't seem to be thriving.
- 46:52Like it doesn't seem like to be a a flourishing community.
- 46:55Only one or two kids, Yeah, you don't typically have a lot of.
- 46:58Yeah, well, just from, from, from the kids, they just to
- 47:01share numbers, but also just they don't go to church.
- 47:04They don't their Bibles, they don't really pray, you know,
- 47:08like I don't know how those I do.
- 47:09Think they're politically active?
- 47:11Yes. I think politics in many ways is
- 47:14the religion of the leftist Christianity.
- 47:18Now, I agree that for some Christians on the right,
- 47:21politics is too much of their religion.
- 47:23Oh, yeah. So this is not just a left
- 47:24issue, but on the left, I think, you know, the whole
- 47:27identification of the state is that has such a role to play in
- 47:31everyday life. And I'm going to win, you know,
- 47:34these, these freedoms that I think I need and sort of the
- 47:37security that I think I need from the state.
- 47:38So like you need the you need the state more than I think the
- 47:41right, because the right just says, let me be free to an
- 47:43extent, right. So there's that.
- 47:45But then there's also like culture, because the people
- 47:47there like if you're on the left, like the people you're
- 47:49hanging out with, in a in a way, it's like the culture of it is
- 47:52like, we are leftist. We are, you know, we are
- 47:54political, we want to, we're really engaged in politics and
- 47:57making changes in politics. So.
- 48:00Yeah, that's why we gotta get back the culture we gotta.
- 48:03Take back the culture, keep podcasting or something, keep
- 48:08Youtubing. You know, that's the one small
- 48:11step forward. I think it'll, I think it's
- 48:13happening. Like I really believe it's
- 48:14happening. I just think I hope to see more
- 48:18folks build bridges and have conversations and not be
- 48:24offended. And I think there's less of that
- 48:27continuity in the Christian space.
- 48:29We're currently in the Protestant space.
- 48:31Excuse me, in the Protestant space.
- 48:32And I feel like watching you. Trent Horn Pine sort of
- 48:36quaintness. I forgot his real name.
- 48:38Matt. Matt.
- 48:39Yeah. There seems to be like you guys
- 48:41seem to have more of a continuity in a system in terms
- 48:44of how you guys navigate this, probably influenced by your
- 48:47Catholic theology. For sure, because we have, I
- 48:49think there's no question that doesn't have an answer that
- 48:52makes sense to anyone. I mean, that's the that's the
- 48:54beauty of like, and one of the reasons I became Catholic is
- 48:57like every question I had had an answer that made sense.
- 49:00And yeah, some of it was this is divine revelation.
- 49:03Like, how do we know these certain things?
- 49:05It's divine revelation. Like you're not going to, you're
- 49:07not going to tease it out in natural law.
- 49:09But even within the divine revelation, there was a
- 49:11beautiful system of philosophy, you know, thought theology that
- 49:14makes sense. And, and all of it in the end
- 49:16didn't lead to when you really like sit with it and you look at
- 49:19the lives of the Saints and you see just this beautiful,
- 49:22passionate love for God and other people.
- 49:25And you see the outpouring of the, all the fruits of knowing
- 49:29and living the faith, You know, the sacraments and you know, you
- 49:32know, receiving Eucharist and being part of a, a tradition and
- 49:35a church that had this continuity for 2000 years coming
- 49:37from Jesus and his apostles. It just gives so much, I think,
- 49:41encouragement to be fully alive. So there's nothing about it.
- 49:45Like with fundamentalist Christianity, it's like, it's
- 49:47kind of like you're getting prodded, like, you know, like
- 49:49with the cattle prod of like, you got to go this way and like
- 49:52do this. And but this is like my
- 49:55experience of the faith, being Catholic is just endless
- 49:58beautiful freedom to be who I meant to be and to love.
- 50:03And it just, it's amazing. I catch a lot of Flack for being
- 50:06friendly with you. Guys, thanks for.
- 50:09I get a lot of backlash for my. You mean you think Catholics are
- 50:14going to heaven? Like, yeah, you know, so it's
- 50:17it's hopefully. Some of them.
- 50:19It's, it's super funny how that is, but I, I, again, I say that
- 50:24because I can watch and admire and be like, man, Trent is so
- 50:30spot on and so many different things.
- 50:32We could disagree on these things, but that doesn't change
- 50:35the reality that like I can see the the the gifts of the Spirit.
- 50:38Yeah. Well, and I see the gifts of the
- 50:40Spirit in you, like fruit of the Spirit.
- 50:41Yeah, I see the fruit of the Spirit in you, like I see the.
- 50:43So it's like that's the power of the Spirit, right?
- 50:46The Spirit blows his breath where he will.
- 50:48Like he can have fruit anywhere, even if the person hasn't heard
- 50:52the name of Jesus. Like that's the power of the
- 50:53Spirit. Now, does that not mean that
- 50:55there are ways that he has promised to bring his power?
- 50:58And like, as a Catholic, I believe that's like the seal of
- 51:01confirmation, and I think that's through baptism.
- 51:03Yes, we know we've received the Spirit this way too, but that
- 51:06doesn't mean he can't do what he wants to do, right?
- 51:08Right, right. So.
- 51:09It's, you know, and also we share sacraments.
- 51:12I mean, obviously baptism is 1. We share.
- 51:13So it's not like we don't have any sacraments in common.
- 51:16So we maybe at one point we can get and maybe get in, maybe we
- 51:19could get in Trent and we could get in some other.
- 51:22Evangelical and do. Some kind of a convo on those
- 51:26differences? Gavin Ortland is really good on
- 51:29these conversations and. Where does he live?
- 51:31He is in near 6 flags. What is that area of local?
- 51:36He's local. I've been wanting to have him on
- 51:38the channel. It would be fun to do something.
- 51:40Well, Trent, and I've been texting with Trent before about
- 51:42having him come out here at some point.
- 51:43I want I had him and his wife via Zoom, which was so cute
- 51:47'cause she has a channel too. Laura, Morning, OH.
- 51:49My goodness. Hilarious.
- 51:51Oh, that's great. She might be my favorite YouTube
- 51:52channel just because she does these, like, ridiculous skits
- 51:55about, like, Catholic inside jokes.
- 51:57Oh, that's so funny. It's very fun.
- 51:59I didn't know that. Yeah.
- 51:59Trent, me and Trent were just texting because I've had him on
- 52:02my channel before and I thought we had a really.
- 52:03Because one of the things I do, whether I'm talking about
- 52:05progressive Christian or I'm talking to a Catholic or however
- 52:07I don't like straw manning people, I want to poke and get
- 52:13the answers in a good faith dialogue to actually come to the
- 52:17conclusions. And so instead of like
- 52:18Christians being like, well, Catholics, they just pray to
- 52:20marry. And it's like, no, no, no, let's
- 52:21let Trent unpack what? What does that?
- 52:24Mean what does that? Mean and and.
- 52:25Let's let Catholics define their terms.
- 52:27Let's not tell as Protestants were Catholics.
- 52:30That doesn't make any sense. And so I like having those
- 52:33conversations. And I thought it was a great
- 52:34conversation and it seemed like my community thought it was a
- 52:36great conversation. But there was definitely folks
- 52:38that were like Rosanna sitting down with Catholics.
- 52:40And I'm like, yeah, and I'm sitting down with Adam 22, you
- 52:42know, like, and I'm sitting down with everybody, right?
- 52:44Like I want to have as many conversations as possible.
- 52:46But I think like, again, going back to I appreciate the
- 52:50continuity in the way you guys care, operate these spaces.
- 52:54And I think it's because you guys come from a more unified
- 52:59view. And I think Christians maybe
- 53:01struggle to navigate these or not, excuse me, Protestants will
- 53:05struggle to navigate these spaces because we don't know if
- 53:08we want to show up and be the fundamentalist or show up and be
- 53:10the evangelical or show up and be the CS Lewis Mere
- 53:13Christianity guy. Like we don't, we don't know.
- 53:15And it, and that's why I'm, I'm just watching.
- 53:17I'm like, why? There's a lot to glean from how
- 53:19you guys operate. And well, I mean, I think the
- 53:22the thing that is the the secret weapon for any of us is truth.
- 53:27And it's true truth that you can explain and you can even point
- 53:30to nature, you know, because that's the natural law.
- 53:32You can see it in the way that the world operates.
- 53:35And when you have truth backing up what you're trying to argue
- 53:39for, even if you make mistakes, the truth is still true.
- 53:43And you can maybe call, you know, call a friend for help.
- 53:45Or you could say, oh, wait, let me clarify that.
- 53:47And you're not trying to invent some argument as you go to,
- 53:50like, try to persuade someone. You're just doing your best job
- 53:54of representing what you know to be true.
- 53:56And I think that provides a totally different level of
- 53:59confidence for people who are coming in there, true,
- 54:02completely trusting in the power of the truth and just doing
- 54:06their best job at representing it versus like, OK, I, I this is
- 54:09what I believe and what I stand for, but I don't know, like how
- 54:12to articulate it. And like, you know, maybe
- 54:14they're going to beat me on this argument because not that they
- 54:16think it's not true, but it's like they don't feel confident
- 54:19in it and they're not sure even how to articulate it.
- 54:21That's good. That's good.
- 54:23So, yeah, so do you think that we're going to hit a time soon?
- 54:28Because like only fans, I actually wanted to bring this up
- 54:30to you because you were mentioning the polling or the,
- 54:34you know, there's a survey done that shows sexual morality and
- 54:37sort of making a comeback a little bit.
- 54:40Do you think that we're going to hit?
- 54:41When do you think we're going to hit a tipping point with it?
- 54:43I saw this tweet this morning I wanted to share with you from
- 54:47the younger brother of Miley Cyrus.
- 54:50Now Full disclosure, I'm not like super familiar with the
- 54:53Cyrus family. Nor is this a full endorsement
- 54:56of everything else he has ever said.
- 54:57That's all the fundamentalists watching.
- 54:59But I will say I've noticed the family before because there's
- 55:02like multiple kids. They all seem really talented.
- 55:05And I think Miley Cyrus is really talented.
- 55:07I certainly noticed when she had like the abortion, the cake that
- 55:11says abortionist healthcare and she's licking it.
- 55:13I mean, it's absolutely disgusting.
- 55:14And that was just again, so like it it, it deeply grieved me
- 55:19because it's like when I see talent like that and then I see
- 55:22it backing up acts of murder against a baby.
- 55:26It's just you just think, why, where, where are we at?
- 55:30You know, where's this going to go?
- 55:32But that being said, her brother and again, I think Miley is
- 55:35going to end up in a good place long term.
- 55:36I have, I have belief for that for her.
- 55:38I think she's on her journey. But this guy Trace, her brother
- 55:41put out the statement that he's getting a ton of heat for that.
- 55:44I wanted to share. So he says, and he's got, you
- 55:47know, a million followers or, you know, he's like his own
- 55:50personality. He's a singer too, and.
- 55:51There's Trace Cyrus. Is that what I just?
- 55:53Said Trace Cyrus and he says there's so many girls that do.
- 55:56Only fans that have lost their chance of ever settling down
- 56:00with a guy with good morals. They will try and call those men
- 56:03insecure for having standards. They get a lot of attention from
- 56:06guys on OF, so they think they have options, but any guy who is
- 56:09so desperate to see sexual content they're willing to pay
- 56:11for is a desperate loser. That's true.
- 56:14I mean, that's good. Like it's holding the guys
- 56:16accountable too. A lot of successful guys will
- 56:18sleep with those girls, but they don't want to wife them.
- 56:20Contradiction. Don't sleep with someone you
- 56:22wouldn't wife. Hello, hello.
- 56:25So again, there's not like full awareness in this, but there's
- 56:28some good, there's some gems. I see a lot of these girls
- 56:30speaking out on this now, saying they can't get a serious
- 56:32relationship. It's because these guys seek
- 56:35value in the girls strictly for sex.
- 56:36They don't look at these women and equate their value as future
- 56:38wife, mother, Lord, partner, blah blah.
- 56:41I just think that this is extremely toxic.
- 56:43I hope more girls continue to speak up about this so other
- 56:47girls know the risk. Having a good man and a family
- 56:49will bring you more happiness in old age than OF ever could.
- 56:51Come on, come on. You know what the saddest part
- 56:54about Only Fans is? Last summer I was on Value
- 56:58Tainment and they are kind of doing this kind of similar
- 57:01format. And we sat down with a lady who
- 57:05was doing Only Fans with her husband, just her and her
- 57:07husband. I think she grew up very
- 57:09conservative, like the whole thing, right?
- 57:12And so they do that and they make a lot of money, I think 6
- 57:16figures a month or something crazy.
- 57:18But the sad part about Only Fans is that that those are the
- 57:22outliers. Only Fans is a lot like locals
- 57:26or Patreon that there's a lot of creators on there that don't
- 57:30make any money. But they're.
- 57:32Trying or they're make very little money so well he's
- 57:36talking about a lot of girls doing.
- 57:37MLM. No, in a way like.
- 57:40It's just, yeah, yeah, it's like, it's like the ratios would
- 57:42be similar to attempting to, but.
- 57:46They're selling it, right? They're selling their success
- 57:49like I'm OF and I have all this money and yeah, they're not
- 57:52necessarily getting a kickback when another girl signs up, but
- 57:54other girls are signing up like I'm going to make some quick
- 57:56money this way. And then they're literally
- 57:59giving away like their most intimate parts of their bodies,
- 58:03selling it to dudes online on there forever.
- 58:06That's their reputation. That's their, the way they're
- 58:09treating their dignity and they're like, you know, even if
- 58:12they made $100 million, like it doesn't matter.
- 58:14But to your point, they're making like 5 bucks or you know,
- 58:17whatever, 500 bucks. Creators, and I'm sure we could
- 58:20verify this is on only fans do not make amazing money.
- 58:25That's the sad part. And so you're doing something
- 58:28that is out there forever. And for randos.
- 58:32For randos and it can potentially creep back up when
- 58:35you're trying when you say transition or say you want to
- 58:38get married or say right. You well, even Adam 22 and LED
- 58:41us at that. They're like that.
- 58:42Once in, you're done. Like you can't switch your
- 58:44career again. There's no closing Pandora's
- 58:46Box. It's, it's, it's, it's it.
- 58:48And so that's the set. So what I think he's saying is
- 58:51so intrinsically it's it's, it's intrinsically true, but it's
- 58:54even worse than that. Like it's worse than that in
- 58:56that the pay, the upside of whatever allure of money is
- 59:01there isn't really an upside. Like it's it's similar to you,
- 59:04you mentioned MLM. I would say YouTube or trying to
- 59:08start a podcast. Like there's hundreds of
- 59:10thousands of only fan creators that will never make any money
- 59:13or any or any meaningful significant money.
- 59:16And they've sold to your point, the most intimate parts of
- 59:19themselves. And that's sad.
- 59:20And I don't think, though I don't, I haven't seen anyone
- 59:22really talk about that besides. That's a new phenomenon, right?
- 59:25I mean, a decade ago OF wasn't a thing five years ago, right?
- 59:28I don't even think it was a thing.
- 59:29What's when did it first? I would say around the pandemic
- 59:32is when I heard it heard it. Expected even talking and talked
- 59:35about. There's only fans.
- 59:35And then I was like, oh, it's. Everywhere.
- 59:37And I think that, and there's a whole generation of girls who
- 59:41think it's increasingly there's generations of girls who think
- 59:45that this is sort of a potentially viable option to
- 59:48explore. And, you know, this is a social
- 59:51experiment on young women and young men and not just young,
- 59:55but old, because, you know, there's a lot of older men who
- 59:57are the patrons of these young girls or whatever.
- 1:00:00And it's a social experiment. What's the longevity of this
- 1:00:03thing? My my sort of hope and kind of
- 1:00:05what you're saying earlier about numbers and the culture is
- 1:00:08getting more moral is. There's going to be, there's
- 1:00:11chaos right now running all directions with people believing
- 1:00:14different things, trying different things.
- 1:00:16But I think the more that the sort of social media generation
- 1:00:19grows up like Jen's ears, millennials to some degree, but
- 1:00:23we didn't, we're not raised with the Internet the same way Jen's
- 1:00:25ears were. They have a, they've never known
- 1:00:28the world without their iPhone, without social media.
- 1:00:31And then the even younger, the alpha generation who's under the
- 1:00:34Jen's ears, they grew up with many of them, their parents just
- 1:00:36putting their most intimate moments on social media
- 1:00:38constantly, right? And so their experience after
- 1:00:42they've had a moment to sit back and be like, OK, what just
- 1:00:45happened is this, is this what life is about?
- 1:00:48Is this how to live? And there were the choices they
- 1:00:50make after they had that moment of really thoughtfulness.
- 1:00:53That's what, that's what gives me hope because at some point
- 1:00:56there's a lot of people are just going to be like, no, this is
- 1:00:58not, this is not the way to go. Here's my prediction of two
- 1:01:03content niches that may explode on YouTube in the next 5 years.
- 1:01:08Content is good #1 is there will be a huge number of detransition
- 1:01:15people who are sharing their horror stories and telling
- 1:01:19people as a cautionary tale. Don't go down this route.
- 1:01:22Don't. Don't do it.
- 1:01:23Already happening. Yeah, already happening, but I
- 1:01:25think it's going to be even bigger.
- 1:01:27And then number 2 is going to be ex only fans, models who didn't
- 1:01:31make any money and put themselves out there.
- 1:01:34And they're going to be sharing the horror stories of what it
- 1:01:36was like with those pictures getting sent around to their
- 1:01:39college campus or those pictures getting sent around to their
- 1:01:42employer and, and, and telling people, don't do it.
- 1:01:46Start that podcast instead. Don't do it.
- 1:01:48Start that YouTube channel instead.
- 1:01:49Don't do it. Start a tic tac, start a
- 1:01:51business, start an at sea. I think that is that that's my
- 1:01:55prediction. I think that's where this is
- 1:01:56going to go. That's hopeful.
- 1:01:57Yeah. Hopefully, hopefully, it's just
- 1:01:59going to go really bad. I think so.
- 1:02:00Too. I mean, like, think about
- 1:02:01smoking today. A generation sees it so
- 1:02:03differently, you know, riding without your seat belt.
- 1:02:06I mean, I don't know. I think, I think that we learn
- 1:02:09things like so much of what we learn, yes, it comes from our
- 1:02:12family, but it kind of comes from the, whatever social ideas
- 1:02:17we're swimming in. And the more of those I, the
- 1:02:19more of those messages that are out there, the more weight
- 1:02:21they're going to have. So it's, it's hopeful.
- 1:02:23I, I agree with you. I agree with you on that.
- 1:02:25Yeah. So it'll be interesting how it
- 1:02:26all plays out. All right, well, lots of good
- 1:02:29stuff. I mean, were you?
- 1:02:31Would you do whatever again? Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 1:02:33I would do whatever again. I think I would be more
- 1:02:35selective. Like I think I was just kind of
- 1:02:37pumped to do it and, and I was, I was so grateful that you got
- 1:02:40me on there. I think the next time around I'd
- 1:02:42probably be like, can we be a bit more focused?
- 1:02:45Do you know I would do it? And that's.
- 1:02:47And Brian seems to be a really open like when I've given him
- 1:02:50ideas or guest recommendations, like he seems really willing to
- 1:02:54engage on things if it makes for a good show.
- 1:02:55It's an interesting conversation.
- 1:02:57He's willing to go for it. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:02:58So yeah, I would be able to do that.
- 1:02:59I'm excited. Me and Destiny have been texting
- 1:03:02about doing something together. Nice.
- 1:03:03So I'm curious what that conversation would be like in
- 1:03:06terms of just trying to understand him better.
- 1:03:09Like like what? Like how he became this guy.
- 1:03:12Now, I think that would be fun to explore.
- 1:03:14That would probably be another like 4 hour conversation I would
- 1:03:16have. But yeah, I think there's a
- 1:03:18place to have charitable good faith conversations where you're
- 1:03:23not. It's just not for trying to dunk
- 1:03:25on the other person and make them look stupid.
- 1:03:27And so I, I, yeah, I would absolutely go on.
- 1:03:29Whatever again. Yeah.
- 1:03:30Yeah, well, you do a great job of trying to understand people.
- 1:03:32Thank you. Thank you for for helping set
- 1:03:34that up. That was great.
- 1:03:35I was so excited. Well, I hope that I hope to see
- 1:03:39see you on again. And I, I afterwards I was
- 1:03:42texting with my husband. I'm like, maybe we'll wait like,
- 1:03:44you know, because it's, it's a lot to go and then you're there
- 1:03:47till like, you know, 2:00 AM or whatever in the morning.
- 1:03:49But I was also, you know, afterwards talking with you and
- 1:03:52like, Hey, what if we did a a dating?
- 1:03:54Show a dating show. A little different that.
- 1:03:56Would be fun. Well, I already told you what,
- 1:03:58what, what book I think you should write, which I think
- 1:04:00would be huge. And I think there is such.
- 1:04:03I feel like as all this stuff gets exposed as the only fans
- 1:04:07racket gets exposed as the correlation between trafficking
- 1:04:11and that world gets exposed. I think as all these things gets
- 1:04:14exposed. Obviously the work you're doing
- 1:04:15with the pro-life movement and just the complete darkness that
- 1:04:19the the the terminating a pregnancy is and the emotional
- 1:04:22ice, emotional consequences, the physical concert.
- 1:04:24I think there's going to be a huge need of women that maybe
- 1:04:29they're not even people of faith.
- 1:04:31Maybe they're not. They're just like, how do I just
- 1:04:34be a better woman? And.
- 1:04:36Be and be at peace. And be at peace and what, and
- 1:04:40what do I, what do I need to work on right.
- 1:04:43And, and, and can I do it in a way where I'm not throwing away
- 1:04:46my career and my opportunity to build a business someday or
- 1:04:51whatever. And I think there I think it's
- 1:04:53going to be a huge opportunity for Someone Like You to step up
- 1:04:56to speak to lead and not and them not go to the Internet, you
- 1:05:02know, and not go to all the toxicity that they can get from
- 1:05:05some of these other platforms. And so, yeah, I'm excited for
- 1:05:08with. The work of doing super, I feel
- 1:05:10like I've been given all of these gifts of just, you know,
- 1:05:13what I've learned from people over the years, the mentorship
- 1:05:16I've gotten and all the coaches I've had and all the books I've
- 1:05:18read and just, it's just and, and being given that much, you
- 1:05:22have this responsibility. I want to share that because
- 1:05:24it's such good stuff. It's not shame, it's not guilt.
- 1:05:27It's not like control. This is freedom to choose love.
- 1:05:31That's what it all comes down to.
- 1:05:33So yeah, excited to see you. Can do like a how to how to wife
- 1:05:36boot camp. I don't I know I saw I saw that
- 1:05:39from like pearly things. I was like sheer wife, you know,
- 1:05:42I'm so I mean, I'm five years in right.
- 1:05:44And so, but I did spend like before meeting my husband.
- 1:05:47Most of my 20s was spent in my teens, like dreaming about what
- 1:05:51does it look like to be ready for a husband like to have a
- 1:05:55family. And I had a lot of issues.
- 1:05:56Like I'm not like, Oh, I had a perfect experience growing up
- 1:05:59and everything was perfect. Like I have an amazing parents,
- 1:06:01but there were plenty of issues and I shared some of this in my
- 1:06:03book Fighting for Life about kind of personal issues I had.
- 1:06:06But ultimately, you know, it is a journey.
- 1:06:09Like there's no arrival with being a being a wife.
- 1:06:12I'm learning as I go, but I think there are core things you
- 1:06:14can do to prepare for sure, and women should do.
- 1:06:18And I think we are men and women thrown into dating, which is why
- 1:06:23I think a dating show would be interesting.
- 1:06:24Not that we're trying to copy Brian because no one can copy
- 1:06:27whatever he's doing his own thing, but something that's more
- 1:06:29intentional about like how do we do this well and try to make it
- 1:06:33entertaining along the way, because otherwise it's like it
- 1:06:35has can't just be like all medicine, no sugar, like make it
- 1:06:38interesting. Have different people on like
- 1:06:40telling their stories, like the drama of like the mistakes and
- 1:06:44learning from them. But how do we do this?
- 1:06:46Well, so we can meet the love of your our lives, get married to
- 1:06:50them, You're happily married. I'm super happily married.
- 1:06:53Like we are so blessed and then be able to raise an amazing
- 1:06:56family. Like, yeah, we're making our
- 1:06:58mistakes, but we're trying and we're doing it in community.
- 1:07:01And it's, it's like a it's joy. Like there's so much joy in it.
- 1:07:05And we just want other people to have that.
- 1:07:06Joy. Yeah, we did a thing for a
- 1:07:09while. It was hard to do a
- 1:07:11consistently, but we did a thing on Saturday nights and it was
- 1:07:14called Singles night. Oh nice on YouTube.
- 1:07:16On YouTube and it was on this, my second channel, it was a live
- 1:07:19stream and so this is what I would do.
- 1:07:20You're like lording over it as Mr. Married Man.
- 1:07:23Yeah. So I would, I would like throw
- 1:07:24on a suit. We'd like do the lighting
- 1:07:26different in the studio. That sounds great.
- 1:07:28And then I people can send their super chats and their super
- 1:07:33chats, I would pull up their Instagram and I would pull up
- 1:07:36their Instagram and I would just give them feedback on their
- 1:07:38Instagram. I'd be like Instagram's the best
- 1:07:40dating app. And I'll give them feedback on
- 1:07:42their Instagram. And then I would say, and then I
- 1:07:44would be like, Hey, if you're interested in this person, slide
- 1:07:47in their DMS, you know, and I'm not responsible.
- 1:07:50I'm not responsible for anything that happens afterwards.
- 1:07:54But and so I we would get 1000 people live.
- 1:07:58Why did you stop doing that? I because I was doing it on
- 1:08:00Saturday nights and it was like people that aren't out, yeah, I
- 1:08:03gotta figure out if I could do it on a different night.
- 1:08:06That's not. Would show up on a Wednesday
- 1:08:07night, yeah. They probably show up whenever
- 1:08:08and so it was hilarious. Maybe I'm gonna try that.
- 1:08:11That's it was hilarious. So that could be a fun format.
- 1:08:14Full Did people, did you feel like there were any?
- 1:08:16Like were any success? Did successful matches come?
- 1:08:19From I, I don't know, but I know people definitely met and went
- 1:08:22on dates from that and connected and people reached.
- 1:08:26Out the battle is just meeting people.
- 1:08:27Yeah, and it and it was hard though, because sometimes people
- 1:08:30would so I would try to go back to like, hey, you dress amazing,
- 1:08:36but buddy, you got to lose some weight.
- 1:08:39Like, I would give them actual feedback, you know.
- 1:08:41And so that part was hard, especially telling women that
- 1:08:44sometimes that part was like. I'll come on and I'll get the.
- 1:08:47So that would be fun if you wanted to do something like
- 1:08:49that, if you came on and you were like, the, the, the, the,
- 1:08:52the truth. Yeah.
- 1:08:54To women. Yeah.
- 1:08:55Because they just felt weird. And then it was also weird to
- 1:08:57compliment women. I felt weird complimenting
- 1:08:59women. Fair.
- 1:09:00So I. Well.
- 1:09:00That's why I think if I did a dating show, I'd want to do it
- 1:09:03with another guy. Yeah.
- 1:09:04And we could have other girls in there and other guys, too.
- 1:09:06But I think it's good to have both perspectives represented.
- 1:09:10And I think having people who are married there, who've been
- 1:09:13through the gam, you know, the gauntlet or whatever, I think
- 1:09:15there's a lot of value. Not that we don't have singles
- 1:09:17on, obviously. And we have like, old.
- 1:09:18Like, I want to have the old. I want the old people on, you
- 1:09:21know, I want the couple that's been married 50 years with all
- 1:09:25of their issues that they've had to tell me what are your
- 1:09:28secrets? And I want them to break away,
- 1:09:30break down the takeaways. OK, though it's nice.
- 1:09:33My secret was, you know, we never said, you know, we always
- 1:09:35said sorry. OK.
- 1:09:35All right, well, how do you say sorry when you're mad?
- 1:09:38Like, let's break it down. What are some actual tactics and
- 1:09:40strategies to employ this great advice we just got from Susie
- 1:09:44and Dan or whatever. Married 50 years.
- 1:09:46Yeah. So there we go.
- 1:09:47So next time we have you come down, we could try or?
- 1:09:49You come here too. We could.
- 1:09:50Do it here. We could try that format and
- 1:09:52have I love it. That's so fun.
- 1:09:55And give them feedback. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:09:57And then they and they end up meeting each other and what do
- 1:09:58you guys? Like somebody.
- 1:09:59Let me know what somebody met and got married.
- 1:10:01We that would be the success, right?
- 1:10:03So we'd have to actually like, have some fruit to show.
- 1:10:05I wonder if they just show me send me a wedding invitation, if
- 1:10:08that. If that could be, it would be a
- 1:10:09lot of weddings, could be a lot of weddings.
- 1:10:11Yeah. Awesome.
- 1:10:12Well, thanks for coming on. Thank you for.
- 1:10:14Having me, I'm so humbled to be back.
- 1:10:16Two times. Alrighty.
