- 0:50Speaker 4: just a moment, and it's not just Somalia. Plus, in
- 0:53Speaker 4: another shocking story, the Housing and Urban Development Secretary Scott
- 0:57Speaker 4: Turner is now blaming checked illegal immigration for the pricing
- 1:03Speaker 4: out of families American families amid the new housing report
- 1:07Speaker 4: that is showing now countless numbers of apartments and rental
- 1:11Speaker 4: properties are being rented by illegal immigrants, making home ownership

- 3:29Speaker 4: It's the forty seven Morning Update and it starts right now.
- 3:33Speaker 3: Story number one.
- 3:34Speaker 4: There has been a lot in the news about the
- 3:36Speaker 4: Somali population defrauding taxpayers at record rates, costing you millions
- 3:44Speaker 4: and millions and millions and millions of taxpayers dollars in Minnesota. Well,
- 3:49Speaker 4: I wish I could tell you it's gotten better, but
- 3:52Speaker 4: it isn't at all. It's actually gotten even worse. In
- 3:55Speaker 4: what we're finding out about how much money the Somali
- 3:59Speaker 4: community is take from all of us. How bad is it?
- 4:03Speaker 4: Nearly every Somali household with children is on welfare. That's right.
- 4:12Speaker 4: New data is showing that more than eight in ten
- 4:15Speaker 4: households headed by Somali refugees in the state of Minnesota
- 4:20Speaker 4: are on one or more forms of American taxpayer funded welfare.
- 4:25Speaker 4: This new data, published by the Center for Immigration Studies
- 4:29Speaker 4: is revealing this shocking news. Now. The data is actually
- 4:34Speaker 4: based on ten years a decade of data from the
- 4:38Speaker 4: Census Bureau's American Community Survey, known as the ACS, and
- 4:43Speaker 4: it shows drastic disparities between native born American households and
- 4:49Speaker 4: Somali born households in Minnesota, where nearly eighty thousand residents
- 4:54Speaker 4: have Somali ancestry compared to zero who had Somali ancestry
- 4:59Speaker 4: in Nai nineteen ninety. In particular, the data shows that
- 5:04Speaker 4: eighty one percent of Minnesota households headed by Somali refugees
- 5:10Speaker 4: are on one or more form of welfare, including twenty
- 5:15Speaker 4: seven percent who are on cash welfare, fifty four percent
- 5:20Speaker 4: who are on food stamps, and seventy three percent who
- 5:25Speaker 4: are on medicaid. Now, many are on multiple forms of
- 5:30Speaker 4: government aid welfare. Now you compare this massive welfare to
- 5:35Speaker 4: Native born Americans residing in Minnesota, the numbers are completely
- 5:41Speaker 4: and staggeringly different, only twenty one percent of whom are
- 5:45Speaker 4: on one or more form of welfare. When it comes
- 5:49Speaker 4: to American Native born, including just six percent who are
- 5:54Speaker 4: on cash welfare, seven percent who are on food stamps,
- 5:59Speaker 4: teen percent who are on medicaid. Now, let me just
- 6:02Speaker 4: go back through these numbers and compare them. Of Native
- 6:06Speaker 4: born Americans residing Minnesota, just six percent are on cash welfare,
- 6:11Speaker 4: Somali refugees in Minnesota twenty seven percent on cash welfare,
- 6:16Speaker 4: and just seven percent of Native born Americans residing Minnesota
- 6:21Speaker 4: are on food stamps. Again, I go back and really
- 6:24Speaker 4: think about these numbers in your head. Of the Somali
- 6:27Speaker 4: refugees in Minnesota, fifty four percent of them are on
- 6:31Speaker 4: food stamps. And if you look at medicaid, of Native
- 6:35Speaker 4: born Americans residing Minnesota, eighteen percent are on Medicaid. Seventy
- 6:40Speaker 4: three percent of Somali refugees are on medicaid. That is
- 6:46Speaker 4: an insane number, a number that should scare everyone because
- 6:51Speaker 4: it's unsustainable. Now, welfare use goes even higher, by the way,
- 6:56Speaker 4: for Somali households with children that are in the home,
- 7:00Speaker 4: the ACS data find. So that was just in general numbers, right,
- 7:05Speaker 4: like a grown woman or a grown man. Now if
- 7:08Speaker 4: you look at households with a child in it, the
- 7:11Speaker 4: numbers skyrocket even more. Eighty nine percent of Somali headed
- 7:17Speaker 4: households with children in Minnesota are on one or more
- 7:21Speaker 4: forms of welfare. Eighty six percent of these households with
- 7:27Speaker 4: children that are Somali headed eighty six percent on medicaid,
- 7:32Speaker 4: and this number is the most damming. About sixty two
- 7:36Speaker 4: percent of Somali households with children in the state are
- 7:39Speaker 4: on food stamps and twenty three percent take cash welfare. Now,
- 7:44Speaker 4: most of these families are on at least two forms
- 7:47Speaker 4: of government aid, some have three even four. Quote nearly
- 7:52Speaker 4: every Somali household with children receive some form of welfare.
- 7:56Speaker 4: That is what the CIS researcher Jason which Wine said
- 8:00Speaker 4: in this report. The gap between Somali households with children
- 8:03Speaker 4: on welfare and Native born Americans that with children on
- 8:07Speaker 4: welfare is wide. Only about three and ten Minnesota households
- 8:13Speaker 4: with children take one or more forms of welfare, all right,
- 8:17Speaker 4: So thirty percent only six percent on cash welfare if
- 8:21Speaker 4: you're a Native born, ten percent in Minnesota Native born
- 8:26Speaker 4: on food stamps, and twenty eight percent on medicaid. Eighty
- 8:30Speaker 4: nine percent of Somali headed households with children Minnesota are
- 8:32Speaker 4: on one or more forms of welfare. This goes back
- 8:36Speaker 4: to what President Donald Trump talked about a couple of
- 8:39Speaker 4: days ago. Why on earth would we continue to bring
- 8:43Speaker 4: people into this country that we are having to take
- 8:46Speaker 4: care of indefinitely, that are costing us countless dollars when
- 8:51Speaker 4: we have plenty of Americans that need help. First, we
- 8:57Speaker 4: have countless felling schools, we have living in poverty. We
- 9:02Speaker 4: still have a homeless crisis where our men and women
- 9:04Speaker 4: that fought to protect and serve this country. So why
- 9:07Speaker 4: would we bring in Somali's where we know that eighty
- 9:11Speaker 4: nine percent of them, if they have children, we're going
- 9:14Speaker 4: to have to pay for their life. Where eighty six
- 9:16Speaker 4: percent of them are going to be on medicaid, Where
- 9:19Speaker 4: sixty two percent of them are on food stamps and
- 9:22Speaker 4: where twenty three percent takes cash, welfare and maybe even more.
- 9:28Speaker 4: These numbers aren't even close to the native born numbers. Now, disparities,
- 9:33Speaker 4: by the way, between Native born Americans and Somali refugees
- 9:36Speaker 4: in Minnesota goes deeper than welfare use. The data also
- 9:39Speaker 4: shows Somali refugees that are in or near poverty in
- 9:44Speaker 4: Minnesota surpasses sixty six percent, while fewer than two and
- 9:49Speaker 4: ten Native born Minnesotas live in or near the poverty line.
- 9:55Speaker 4: So almost seven out of every ten Somali refugees are
- 9:59Speaker 4: living in near the poverty line. That number is crazy.
- 10:03Speaker 4: But let's talk about are they at least trying to
- 10:06Speaker 4: become Americans? Are they trying to assimilate? Are they trying
- 10:10Speaker 4: to become a part of this country? The refugees that
- 10:13Speaker 4: have come over from Somalia. All right, here's some more
- 10:15Speaker 4: data for you. Just zero point seven percent of Native
- 10:21Speaker 4: born Americans in Minnesota speak English less than very well.
- 10:26Speaker 4: Almost sixty percent of Smali refugees say they don't speak
- 10:29Speaker 4: any English very well, including nearly half of Somali refugees
- 10:34Speaker 4: who have lived in Minnesota for more than a decade.
- 10:37Speaker 4: Samali refugees in Minnesota also tend to be vastly less
- 10:41Speaker 4: educated than their Minnesota and counterparts. Well, only five percent
- 10:45Speaker 4: of dative born Americans in Minnesota do not have a
- 10:47Speaker 4: high school diploma, so it's actually a very educated state.
- 10:50Speaker 4: Almost forty percent of small refugees say the same, including
- 10:54Speaker 4: more than twenty eight percent who have lived in Minnesota
- 10:56Speaker 4: for more than a decade, and they still don't have
- 10:59Speaker 4: the education they need to succeed at a high level.
- 11:03Speaker 4: You put all that together, this is a recipe for disaster.
- 11:07Speaker 4: We know it, and we have the data to prove it.
- 11:10Speaker 4: So why on earth are we still having these programs?
- 11:15Speaker 5: Which is the.
- 11:16Speaker 4: Question that the President of the United States of America
- 11:20Speaker 4: has been asking, and it's one that every American should
- 11:24Speaker 4: want or demand an answer from it. Now, all the
- 11:27Speaker 4: data I just gave you, I really hope you'll take
- 11:30Speaker 4: it and you'll share it. I hope you take the podcast,
- 11:33Speaker 4: share it wherever you can on social media, because this
- 11:37Speaker 4: is the exact type of data that needs to get
- 11:39Speaker 4: out there now.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Story number two.
- 11:41Speaker 4: It brings me to another story that I also want
- 11:44Speaker 4: to bring up, and it's about exactly what is happening
- 11:48Speaker 4: with immigration in general. There's other shocking news that has
- 11:51Speaker 4: come out from the HUD secretary, warning that illegal immigration
- 11:57Speaker 4: is pushing home prices than you can imagine in new
- 12:02Speaker 4: comments that have come out as the agency has released
- 12:04Speaker 4: a damning report on the housing market strain. And if
- 12:10Speaker 4: you are an American that wants to own a home,
- 12:12Speaker 4: it's harder now than it's been in my lifetime. There
- 12:16Speaker 4: is a lack of affordability and home prices have gotten
- 12:19Speaker 4: incredibly high, making those forty and under in essence, renters,
- 12:25Speaker 4: not home owners. The Housing and Urban Development Secretary Scott
- 12:30Speaker 4: Turner slammed the Biden administration for what he called an
- 12:33Speaker 4: illegal immigration and refugee crisis that has rattled the housing market,
- 12:40Speaker 4: particularly for low income renters. There is more shocking details
- 12:45Speaker 4: that he explained on Fox News Channel, and I want
- 12:49Speaker 4: you to hear what he had to say to Kaylee Mcananny.
- 12:51Speaker 5: I'm joined now by Housing and Urban Development Secretary Scott Turner.
- 12:54Speaker 5: Secretary Turner, you know, it was interesting I was watching
- 12:57Speaker 5: some of your interviews this week and you actually linked
- 12:59Speaker 5: a legal immigration to part of the reason we have
- 13:02Speaker 5: a housing crisis.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Well, good morning, Kley it's always great to be with you.
- 13:05Speaker 2: And yes, during the Biden administration, the immigration policies crippled
- 13:10Speaker 2: our nation over twelve million illegal immigrants. So illegal aliens
- 13:14Speaker 2: came across our border, really stifling our housing affordability and
- 13:19Speaker 2: supply issue in our country. And when you have this
- 13:22Speaker 2: many illegal aliens coming over taking homes that are supposed
- 13:26Speaker 2: to be for the American people, affordability is are automatically
- 13:30Speaker 2: going to go up. Kayley, here's an interesting stat for you.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Fifty nine percent of illegal alien families use one or
- 13:37Speaker 2: more welfare programs in America, costing US about forty two
- 13:41Speaker 2: billion dollars a year. And so we have to get
- 13:45Speaker 2: the immigration policy in order, which President Trump has done
- 13:48Speaker 2: and others in the administration. But yes, illegal immigration has
- 13:52Speaker 2: definitely stifled housing affordability and supply.
- 13:55Speaker 5: One of the things that I think is really fantastic
- 13:57Speaker 5: about the Trump administration is you're always coming up with
- 13:59Speaker 5: new ideas, whether it be tariff dividends, the healthcare payments,
- 14:03Speaker 5: and in your case you're in housing, We've heard about
- 14:05Speaker 5: this idea of a portable mortgage, perhaps a fifty year mortgage,
- 14:09Speaker 5: and that we could debate the efficacy of all these ideas,
- 14:11Speaker 5: but you're coming up with solutions. Tell us about some
- 14:14Speaker 5: of those conversations. Do you all get in a room
- 14:16Speaker 5: and just plan and think, how can we help the
- 14:18Speaker 5: American people? Here's some new ideas.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Yes, Calyn, you know all too well, having us served
- 14:23Speaker 2: so faithfully in the first administration that President Trump not
- 14:27Speaker 2: only as a strategist, but he executes on ideas. And
- 14:31Speaker 2: so right now there's many ideas, a myriad of ideas
- 14:34Speaker 2: on the table as it pertains a housing affordability and
- 14:37Speaker 2: helping first time home buyers in America. I hear it,
- 14:41Speaker 2: You hear it, gen Z, Millennials and others, and how
- 14:44Speaker 2: we're going to be able to afford a home. And
- 14:46Speaker 2: so not only do we understand it, but you have
- 14:49Speaker 2: people leadership in this country getting together, getting stakeholders together,
- 14:53Speaker 2: industry experts to see what is the best feasible and
- 14:56Speaker 2: appropriate path that we can take to open up a
- 14:59Speaker 2: build and in our country. And I will say, in
- 15:01Speaker 2: addition to that, Kayley, the regulatory environment is burden some
- 15:06Speaker 2: in our country, and so at HUD we've taken down
- 15:09Speaker 2: burdened some regulations affirmatively further in fair housing, which made
- 15:13Speaker 2: HUD and National Zoning Board, restoring local control back to
- 15:17Speaker 2: the cities, back to the states, back to the localities.
- 15:20Speaker 2: And we're encouraging every locality take inventory of your regulatory
- 15:24Speaker 2: environment to see how you can unleash building and development
- 15:28Speaker 2: in USA community. And so these ideas taking down the
- 15:32Speaker 2: regulatory environment, public private partnerships are all part of the plan.
- 15:35Speaker 4: I go back to one of the things that Turner
- 15:38Speaker 4: said there the quote unchecked legal immigration and open borders
- 15:41Speaker 4: policies allowed by the Biden administration continue to put significant
- 15:46Speaker 4: strengd on housing pricing out American families. These policies that
- 15:51Speaker 4: plagued Americans housing market. But in Trump's presidency, Americans finally
- 15:58Speaker 4: have a leader fighting to restore the Senate for American
- 16:01Speaker 4: immigration policy. You look at this report and Hudd's twenty
- 16:07Speaker 4: twenty five report also found that increased immigration has driven
- 16:12Speaker 4: up the price you're paying for a house and that
- 16:16Speaker 4: unrestricted nature of the influx has both strained the housing market.
- 16:22Speaker 4: And this is from the report Priced Out Many American Families.
- 16:26Speaker 4: Report found that an estimated fifteen million illegal immigrants constant
- 16:33Speaker 4: thirty percent of all foreign born residents now. Turner also
- 16:39Speaker 4: added that Hudd took away federal housing Authority back mortgages
- 16:43Speaker 4: from illegal immigrants offered during the Biden administration, saying the
- 16:47Speaker 4: former president turned a blind eye of the issue. So
- 16:50Speaker 4: you were literally like our government was giving out the
- 16:53Speaker 4: loans and backing the loans of illegal immigrants. Now in California,
- 17:00Speaker 4: right sanctuary state. New York a sanctuary state as well, immigrants,
- 17:04Speaker 4: they now say this report of accountant for one hundred
- 17:07Speaker 4: percent of all rental growth and over one half of
- 17:12Speaker 4: all growth in owner occupied housing in recent years. So
- 17:16Speaker 4: if you're trying to find affordable housing in California or
- 17:18Speaker 4: New York as a state, good luck, because immigrants have
- 17:22Speaker 4: accounting for one hundred percent of all rental growth and
- 17:25Speaker 4: over one half of all growth in the owner occupied
- 17:28Speaker 4: housing in recent years. Nationally, there's also a major concern
- 17:35Speaker 4: the foreign born population now accounts for more than sixty
- 17:38Speaker 4: percent of the growth in rental demand. Nationwide, the foreign
- 17:44Speaker 4: born population accounted for two thirds of renal demand growth.
- 17:48Speaker 4: Hudds report also says that if we don't stop this,
- 17:52Speaker 4: they're going to have Americans that literally cannot afford to
- 17:55Speaker 4: live in America, is what the synopsis is. Because there
- 17:59Speaker 4: is such a competitive marketplace for renal properties, and you
- 18:04Speaker 4: can't afford to buy a home, so what is your option.
- 18:08Speaker 4: That's something that every American should be thinking about, and
- 18:11Speaker 4: it's exactly why, by the way, the President of the
- 18:14Speaker 4: United States America is taking this subject on saying we
- 18:18Speaker 4: have to stop it now.
