- 2:07Speaker 8: me now, one and only Steve Harvey got a radio
- 2:10Speaker 8: show man.
- 2:11Speaker 2: I got something I want to share with you today.
- 2:12Speaker 2: I was I was in the gym this morning and
- 2:16Speaker 2: trained son send him a text, and he sent him
- 2:19Speaker 2: a text this morning of a dude in the gym
- 2:22Speaker 2: lifting up huge weights, dumb bails, doing a bench press like,
- 2:29Speaker 2: you know, just huge dumb baills, you know stuff I
- 2:31Speaker 2: ain't doing, you know, hundreds some pounds, not really sure
- 2:35Speaker 2: was huge. I've never seen dumb balls this big. And
- 2:37Speaker 2: the man was pressing him and Lee's son took a
- 2:41Speaker 2: picture of him, and he sent this to his father
- 2:43Speaker 2: this morning.
- 2:44Speaker 1: His father shared it with me.
- 2:45Speaker 2: I want to share it with y'all because man, I
- 2:47Speaker 2: can't tell you how Its explained so much of your life.
- 2:51Speaker 2: And when he showed the man lifting this excessive weight
- 2:54Speaker 2: in the gym, he said, wow, pap, look at this
- 2:56Speaker 2: dude right here. The caption he put under it was,
- 2:59Speaker 2: don't pray for it to be easier, pray for you
- 3:02Speaker 2: to be stronger. Ain't that cold? See? I was thinking
- 3:06Speaker 2: about that. As soon as he said it, I said, Man,
- 3:08Speaker 2: I gotta go on the radio. I gotta tell everybody.
- 3:10Speaker 1: What I see now.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Don't pray for it to be easier, pray for you
- 3:16Speaker 2: to be stronger. Okay, let me tell you how important
- 3:19Speaker 2: that is now. I just heard it that way today,
- 3:22Speaker 2: and I'm sharing it with you immediately because you know
- 3:24Speaker 2: what that has. It's gonna help me a lot, because
- 3:27Speaker 2: oftentimes I've done it indirectly, and then sometimes I've done
- 3:31Speaker 2: it all the wrong. I've sometimes I've actually prayed for
- 3:35Speaker 2: it to be stronger, but I've also prayed sometimes for
- 3:37Speaker 2: it to be easier. I have done that and been
- 3:40Speaker 2: guilty of it myself. But from now on, after hearing that,
- 3:43Speaker 2: I'm changing my prayer because see, you can't have it
- 3:46Speaker 2: both ways. You can't be strong and weak at the
- 3:49Speaker 2: same time. Now, if you keep asking God to make
- 3:52Speaker 2: it easier, what you are not asking him for is
- 3:55Speaker 2: for you to be able to handle whatever happens. So
- 3:58Speaker 2: the next thing that comes along to you ain't worked
- 4:00Speaker 2: your muscles on to prepare you for. That's gonna sink
- 4:04Speaker 2: you too. So what I learned by that is sometimes
- 4:08Speaker 2: I even I got to change my prayer too. Now
- 4:11Speaker 2: I do most of the time, but I'm a human
- 4:13Speaker 2: being and sometimes I just want it to go away.
- 4:15Speaker 2: But now, what I really need to pray for is
- 4:17Speaker 2: to strength all the time to deal with whatever besets me,
- 4:20Speaker 2: whatever comes my way. Because to become successful, and we've
- 4:24Speaker 2: talked about this how many times, it's hard. So since
- 4:28Speaker 2: knowing is gonna be hard, why not ask for the
- 4:31Speaker 2: strength to handle that. See, stop praying for weaker moments,
- 4:35Speaker 2: Stop praying for it to be easier. Stop asking God
- 4:38Speaker 2: to make your way playing and easy. Okay, Now what now,
- 4:42Speaker 2: you ain't worked your muscles out to learn how to
- 4:44Speaker 2: handle nothing. I was at it this morning. I put
- 4:46Speaker 2: a little more weight on it. In order to grow.
- 4:49Speaker 2: I got to change. And you can't change if you're
- 4:52Speaker 2: gonna stay the same. You can't keep picking up the
- 4:55Speaker 2: same forty pound dumb bails. And you want some more results,
- 4:59Speaker 2: you gonna keep getting if you keep doing what you've
- 5:01Speaker 2: been doing, you gonna keep getting what you've been getting.
- 5:04Speaker 2: You cannot grow without the change. So when we talking
- 5:07Speaker 2: to God and we're asking God to make it easy
- 5:10Speaker 2: for us, where it growth at, where to change at? No,
- 5:14Speaker 2: you got to ask God to make you stronger, not
- 5:17Speaker 2: to make the situation weaker.
- 5:19Speaker 9: I'm changing my prayers.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Man, I'm going at him now with just just make
- 5:23Speaker 2: me strong enough to handle whatever happened, whatever come my way.
- 5:26Speaker 9: Give me the strift of handler.
- 5:27Speaker 2: And now whatever I see in front of me that
- 5:29Speaker 2: I'm trying to go after, that's gonna require more.
- 5:31Speaker 9: Give me the strift to.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Do that too. Help me be a stronger man, Help
- 5:36Speaker 2: me be a stronger person, Help me be a stronger woman,
- 5:41Speaker 2: a stronger boy, a stronger girl, a stronger student, a
- 5:46Speaker 2: stronger boss, a stronger employee, a stronger leader, a stronger follower.
- 5:51Speaker 4: Give me that.
- 5:52Speaker 9: Give me strift to do that.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Stop asking for it to be simple and easy and
- 5:56Speaker 2: paved the way what you want, man, the road to
- 5:59Speaker 2: success is all ways under construction. Always, it ain't ever
- 6:03Speaker 2: paved and smooth and easy. Look here, man, go out
- 6:06Speaker 2: there todays, try to be successful. See what you're gonna
- 6:08Speaker 2: run into. Man, it's orange barrels, it's workers, it's detours,
- 6:12Speaker 2: it's got craters in the road with no wanting signs
- 6:14Speaker 2: on it. That's how hard it is to be successful.
- 6:17Speaker 2: The road to success is always under construction. It ain't
- 6:21Speaker 2: fitna smooth out for you. You got to ask God
- 6:24Speaker 2: for strength. Be what you're supposed to be. Now, listen,
- 6:26Speaker 2: look at him when you make a mistake, and you're
- 6:29Speaker 2: gonna make them.
- 6:30Speaker 10: We all do.
- 6:32Speaker 2: We fall down, but we get up. A saint is
- 6:37Speaker 2: just a sinner who felled down, but he didn't stay there.
- 6:41Speaker 2: That's all a saint is. All these Christians running their
- 6:44Speaker 2: mouth with you about how fired up and save they
- 6:48Speaker 2: on all this got all that, but them people. Them
- 6:51Speaker 2: people make mistakes all the time, all the time. And
- 6:55Speaker 2: see the moment we as Christian people start telling people
- 6:59Speaker 2: the truth about being a Christian, most people can get
- 7:02Speaker 2: interested in it. But if you gonna tell everybody this
- 7:05Speaker 2: lie that you're over here living this perfect life and
- 7:07Speaker 2: everything and ever since you came to God, your life
- 7:10Speaker 2: been smooth, and you don't have no, and he done
- 7:12Speaker 2: took all your pains.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Await, what what?
- 7:15Speaker 4: Who are you?
- 7:16Speaker 1: Where that life at?
- 7:18Speaker 2: You're talking about Heaven now, ain't you? But I heard
- 7:20Speaker 2: you had to die to go there? So what you're
- 7:22Speaker 2: really talking about? Come on, man, I'm talking to the
- 7:26Speaker 2: cat that's in some real pain right now, that's in
- 7:28Speaker 2: some real trouble right now. The dude is at the
- 7:31Speaker 2: crossroad right now. The dude has been struggling and dealing
- 7:34Speaker 2: with it for a long time. I'm talking to the
- 7:36Speaker 2: cat that's out there, been trying to figure out what's
- 7:38Speaker 2: wrong man, why I can't seem to get it right.
- 7:42Speaker 2: That's who I'm talking to. I'm saying, come over here
- 7:44Speaker 2: and give God a try. Come over here, with your
- 7:47Speaker 2: imperfect self, with your imperfect ways, and watch him change
- 7:51Speaker 2: some things about you. Watch him give you the strength.
- 7:54Speaker 2: See what he did for me. Let me okay, See,
- 7:55Speaker 2: best way I can do is just tell you what
- 7:57Speaker 2: happened to me. See what it did for me was
- 8:00Speaker 2: he just took me and took how it was and
- 8:03Speaker 2: made me better with it. I'm still an aggressive man,
- 8:08Speaker 2: I'm probably not gonna ever stop being aggressive. But he
- 8:10Speaker 2: took that aggression and he starts shaping it. Now for
- 8:13Speaker 2: the first twelve minutes in the morning, be aggressive about me,
- 8:16Speaker 2: Be aggressive about the feelings you got towards me, your father,
- 8:20Speaker 2: your leader, your God, your savior.
- 8:21Speaker 9: Be aggressive, man.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Tell people how you made it, Steve aggressively, since you
- 8:25Speaker 2: want to, Since you aggressive, and you've been aggressive, I
- 8:29Speaker 2: made you be aggressive with that. Now, since you like
- 8:32Speaker 2: to tell it like it is, Steve, then tell the
- 8:35Speaker 2: truth of how it really is. How I do for you,
- 8:37Speaker 2: what I done for you. Tell everybody you know what
- 8:40Speaker 2: I've done for you in a plain, simple way so
- 8:42Speaker 2: they can feel you. See, he ain't changed me. He
- 8:45Speaker 2: just made me better with it. When you get loud, hey, man,
- 8:49Speaker 2: every now and then and get loud for me. You
- 8:51Speaker 2: know you want to tell some jokes, you real funny,
- 8:53Speaker 2: tell something funny, but let it be so more people
- 8:56Speaker 2: can hear it.
- 8:57Speaker 9: See, that's what he did for me.
- 9:00Speaker 2: So if all you catch out there that's scared to
- 9:01Speaker 2: come on over here because you scared it's gonna change you,
- 9:04Speaker 2: turn you into some little punk. Now you got to
- 9:06Speaker 2: come over here and beat this little meek lamb lead
- 9:08Speaker 2: off the slaughter every Sunday.
- 9:10Speaker 1: That ain't what it is. Over here.
- 9:12Speaker 2: God looking for men, God looking for for real soldiers
- 9:16Speaker 2: out here. See everybody I talk to you don't want
- 9:19Speaker 2: to hear about Christianity. So I ain't got nothing from there.
- 9:21Speaker 1: How about that?
- 9:23Speaker 9: How about that? I'm cool with that.
- 9:24Speaker 2: See every Christian ain't turning another cheek. I ain't there?
- 9:27Speaker 1: You slap me?
- 9:28Speaker 4: Man?
- 9:29Speaker 2: I ain't.
- 9:29Speaker 1: Man, I'm sorry, I don't.
- 9:30Speaker 2: I don't know. I ain't there yet. But see I'm
- 9:33Speaker 2: a work in progress. He ain't through with me yet.
- 9:35Speaker 2: I might get to the point where I can't turn
- 9:37Speaker 2: my other cheek.
- 9:38Speaker 9: I doubt it.
- 9:39Speaker 2: I ain't. I ain't looking for I ain't praying for
- 9:41Speaker 2: that one. I'm I don't for real about you, man,
- 9:43Speaker 2: I'll be praying for most strength. So when I when
- 9:46Speaker 2: you do slap me, when I come back around, I
- 9:48Speaker 2: come back nice hard slap me. You won't slap me twice.
- 9:52Speaker 2: I'm promise you that. Where am I going with this?
- 9:54Speaker 1: Steve Huh? I'm sorry. Just remember what I told you.
- 9:57Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Ladies and gentlemen. The time is here again. I just
- 10:08Speaker 2: can't believe how he keep giving me these new opportunities.
- 10:12Speaker 2: I'm so grateful for it. Man, I am so grateful
- 10:15Speaker 2: for it. I got a little news this morning, so
- 10:17Speaker 2: I didn't say thank you this morning. So let me
- 10:19Speaker 2: stop right now. I say thank you, Lord. I appreciate you.
- 10:22Speaker 2: I really do all. Whatever you're taking me through, I
- 10:26Speaker 2: know you got me, that's for sure. I have a
- 10:28Speaker 2: track record with the Lord, and you do too. And
- 10:31Speaker 2: let me remind you of what it is. Everything you've
- 10:34Speaker 2: ever gone through, every bad day, every troubled time, every challenge,
- 10:40Speaker 2: and every hardship, you have survived them all.
- 10:43Speaker 9: Your track record for surviving rough.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Bad, unthinkable days, your track record is one hundred percent.
- 10:51Speaker 9: You have survived them all. I would expect to continue.
- 10:55Speaker 2: To do so. So as I go through whatever you're
- 10:57Speaker 2: going through out there, whatever it is you're going through,
- 11:00Speaker 2: remember the words I heard from Tom Hanks, This too
- 11:03Speaker 2: shall pass.
- 11:04Speaker 7: Yeah.

- 14:48Speaker 10: I got them up. I got my whole team and
- 14:49Speaker 10: everything set up. Man, it's looking really good.
- 14:51Speaker 14: Okay. Let me let me ask you something, man. The
- 14:53Speaker 14: theme you got in your yard? Where you get that
- 14:55Speaker 14: idea from?
- 14:56Speaker 10: What do you mean where I get them from?
- 14:58Speaker 14: The idea? Like you got the snow man. You got
- 15:00Speaker 14: Santa Claus and rain deals, you got your whole house decorated.
- 15:04Speaker 14: Where did you get your idea from?
- 15:06Speaker 10: I'm lost what you're talking about. Man, You ask me
- 15:08Speaker 10: where I got a theme from? I mean you try
- 15:11Speaker 10: to imply for them.
- 15:12Speaker 14: I'm asking you a question, where did you get the
- 15:14Speaker 14: idea from?
- 15:15Speaker 13: I made this up. I made this up. Jesus Jesus
- 15:18Speaker 13: in the you know that represents christ?
- 15:20Speaker 2: Man.
- 15:20Speaker 10: You go with a theme at Christmas Base, Man, and
- 15:22Speaker 10: that's that's Christmas Base. Jesus is Christmas Jesus and just
- 15:25Speaker 10: in Jerusalem and Beth Lamb and hey, what what's going on?
- 15:29Speaker 2: Man?
- 15:29Speaker 13: Who are you?
- 15:30Speaker 14: We can get my number from any I'm I'm manny Man,
- 15:33Speaker 14: I'm Manny. I got I got your number from one
- 15:35Speaker 14: of the people that live on your street. And I'm
- 15:37Speaker 14: just asking you on the reel where you get this
- 15:40Speaker 14: idea from?
- 15:41Speaker 16: I made this idea?
- 15:42Speaker 10: If I made this up? Man, I made this up
- 15:45Speaker 10: just the second time you asked me where I get
- 15:46Speaker 10: this idea from?
- 15:47Speaker 16: What you're trying to inform?
- 15:48Speaker 14: It's go the real deal, dog, the same thing you
- 15:51Speaker 14: got if you come fos Streets over, I got the
- 15:54Speaker 14: same thing in my yard, and it looked like you
- 15:56Speaker 14: just stole my idea. And see what you ain't gonna
- 16:00Speaker 14: do is try to win Christmas yards of the season,
- 16:03Speaker 14: and you just stole my idea. That's the problem I
- 16:06Speaker 14: got with you. Now.
- 16:07Speaker 10: The problem you got is life and twist it, okay,
- 16:10Speaker 10: because see I put this together without it. I never
- 16:12Speaker 10: even heard of you many begin with. Secondly, I've been
- 16:16Speaker 10: doing this particular theme in my yard because I've been
- 16:18Speaker 10: staying over I'm just staying over here six years.
- 16:20Speaker 17: You ain't had that.
- 16:20Speaker 14: You ain't have that theme last year. You ain't had that.
- 16:23Speaker 10: Man at this theme last year and the year before.
- 16:25Speaker 10: And I put my stuff in the same place every
- 16:28Speaker 10: time I put it down.
- 16:29Speaker 14: You did not have this last year.
- 16:30Speaker 16: Talk about who are you.
- 16:31Speaker 10: To call me and tell me about my theme and
- 16:33Speaker 10: about my yard and what you got going.
- 16:35Speaker 16: I know you ain't cough in there.
- 16:36Speaker 14: Man, I'm gonna tell you right now, and I ain't
- 16:38Speaker 14: finna go no further. You need to rearrange your theme

- 26:42Speaker 15: of check, see, so I paid my bill and I
- 26:45Speaker 15: went and sat at the bar. Another man bought me
- 26:48Speaker 15: a drink, and the guy I had dinner with got mad.
- 26:51Speaker 15: I didn't consider dinner as a date since I paid
- 26:53Speaker 15: for my food. Was I wrong for leaving him at

- 27:26Speaker 2: and you should expect that. And then if he doesn't
- 27:29Speaker 2: pay for your bill like you did, and gonna do
- 27:32Speaker 2: what you want to do because he ain't the one
- 27:34Speaker 2: he asked for separate checks. What God, the dude is

- 28:31Speaker 1: Well, my parents resent me if I don't do that.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Well, I don't know if you understand the difficulty that's
- 28:39Speaker 2: come in your way, and I think your parents do,
- 28:43Speaker 2: and they realize you're going to have to have help,
- 28:46Speaker 2: and your boyfriend ain't gonna make a commitment. That's obvious,
- 28:52Speaker 2: and your parents are just being parents because they know
- 28:56Speaker 2: the road ahead for you. It's going to be difficult.
- 28:59Speaker 2: And if you live at home, you'll have some help
- 29:01Speaker 2: with the baby.

- 29:32Speaker 9: They gonna be resentful?
- 29:33Speaker 2: Yeah? But I think you are too, though. And I
- 29:37Speaker 2: understand you got a good job and you graduated and everything,
- 29:41Speaker 2: but you know, I don't think you understand what this
- 29:42Speaker 2: pregnancy is.
- 29:43Speaker 13: Now.
- 29:44Speaker 2: You can't know until you have the baby. And I've
- 29:47Speaker 2: heard women say that all the time. Oh, you can't
- 29:50Speaker 2: know what this is until that baby get here. Because
- 29:55Speaker 2: I didn't know what it was the mine got here.
- 29:57Speaker 2: I wanted all the mind to go back.

- 30:05Speaker 2: No, I'm not ready for none of this.
- 30:10Speaker 4: Some work.
- 30:11Speaker 15: Yeah, So she doesn't want her parents to resent her,

- 30:18Speaker 15: move move back home.
- 30:19Speaker 9: I mean, look, she can stay where you are, but

- 52:29Speaker 16: here and drive right to the human resources window because
- 52:33Speaker 16: I ain't going to move South Africa. And I keep

- 52:51Speaker 16: I don't give a about this job right now, trying
- 52:54Speaker 16: to send me overseas like you're setting me up from me,
- 52:57Speaker 16: I ain't going a matter of fact, let me turn

- 54:37Speaker 2: his mind, I can't get back home. Well he had
- 54:41Speaker 2: involved Donald Trump.
- 54:48Speaker 1: It's not having it at all, my something like baseball.
- 54:51Speaker 1: My wife is going to hear this.
- 54:52Speaker 7: Man.
- 54:53Speaker 2: I ain't obligated to do nothing except put this truck

- 56:44Speaker 1: you here It is Strawberry letter.
- 56:47Speaker 15: Subject, She's in the middle stirring up mess. Dear Stephen Shirley.
- 56:52Speaker 15: I was in an emotionally abusive marriage for eight years.
- 56:56Speaker 15: I've been divorced for two years, and I'm trying to
- 56:58Speaker 15: get on with my life. My ex husband talked down
- 57:02Speaker 15: to me and call me names, but I chalked it
- 57:04Speaker 15: up to him being selfish and inadequate as a man,
- 57:08Speaker 15: so I was able to be friendly toward him for
- 57:10Speaker 15: the sake of our eight year old daughter until recently.
- 57:14Speaker 15: He adores our daughter, and he got to keep the
- 57:17Speaker 15: house in the divorce because he owned it outright. My
- 57:20Speaker 15: daughter's room is still there as she left it, and
- 57:23Speaker 15: I also left a lot of my personal belongings in
- 57:26Speaker 15: the house because they wouldn't fit in my apartment. My
- 57:30Speaker 15: grandmother's sewing machine and a lot of my family photo
- 57:33Speaker 15: albums are a few of my prize possessions that I
- 57:36Speaker 15: had to leave behind. We share custody of our daughter,
- 57:39Speaker 15: and when I go to pick her up, he never
- 57:41Speaker 15: invites me inside. My daughter got in the car Sunday
- 57:45Speaker 15: and said her daddy was painting the house and put
- 57:48Speaker 15: a lot of stuff in boxes so he could sell it.
- 57:51Speaker 15: I asked her what was in the boxes and she
- 57:53Speaker 15: said it was a lot of my things. I called
- 57:56Speaker 15: him when we got home and asked him if he
- 57:58Speaker 15: was putting my things out. He said it was time
- 58:00Speaker 15: to rid his house of my junk, especially since I
- 58:04Speaker 15: was with a new man now. I asked why he
- 58:07Speaker 15: thought I had a new man, and he said that
- 58:09Speaker 15: my daughter told him. He bragged that he and my
- 58:12Speaker 15: child have an unbreakable bond and she tells him everything.
- 58:17Speaker 15: I thought I was dating discreetly, but apparently she's been
- 58:21Speaker 15: listening to my conversations. I asked him if I could
- 58:24Speaker 15: pick up my belonging soon.
- 58:26Speaker 1: And he said no.
- 58:27Speaker 15: He told me to focus on my new relationship and
- 58:30Speaker 15: leave him alone. This is another form of abuse, and
- 58:34Speaker 15: my daughter started all of this. What should I do
- 58:37Speaker 15: now and how.
- 58:38Speaker 1: Can I get my stuff? Wow?
- 58:42Speaker 15: Uh, Okay, come on now, Mom, you you can't really
- 58:48Speaker 15: be serious about blaming your daughter in this one, don't
- 58:52Speaker 15: you see what's happening here. I mean, your ex is
- 58:55Speaker 15: clearly the culprit. He's the mean guy, and that's why
- 58:59Speaker 15: you left him. That's the main reason you left him,
- 59:01Speaker 15: because he was emotionally abusive to you and called your
- 59:04Speaker 15: names and all of that. Remember he said there was
- 59:07Speaker 15: an unbreakable bond between him and your daughter. But I
- 59:10Speaker 15: think what he's doing is of course, manipulating your baby
- 59:15Speaker 15: into telling him everything.
- 59:16Speaker 1: That you're doing. Your daughter's eight years old.
- 59:18Speaker 15: She doesn't know what he's doing, and she doesn't know
- 59:21Speaker 15: any better because she's eight years old. She's just a baby.
- 59:24Speaker 15: She's just doing what her dad asks. So she's not messy,
- 59:28Speaker 15: as your letter title suggests. She's just doing what her
- 59:32Speaker 15: dad tells her to do. She sees nothing wrong with
- 59:35Speaker 15: what she's doing. And as a matter of fact, he's
- 59:38Speaker 15: probably got her thinking she's doing the right thing by
- 59:41Speaker 15: going to him and telling him everything when he has
- 59:44Speaker 15: So I say, be careful, mom, about what he's doing,
- 59:47Speaker 15: and don't let him use your child to play you,
- 59:49Speaker 15: because that's what it is. And so what if you
- 59:52Speaker 15: are dating someone else, you can date. You're divorced two
- 59:56Speaker 15: years now. You know you want your stuff, honestly because
- 1:00:02Speaker 15: he's so petty and vindictive. Don't know if he'll, if
- 1:00:05Speaker 15: he'll ever give you your things back, but I will
- 1:00:08Speaker 15: say you could take your new man over there, and
- 1:00:11Speaker 15: if he's selling the stuff, you can buy this stuff.
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: You know, he's just.
- 1:00:14Speaker 15: Crazy and controlling and takes pleasure in hurting and humiliating you,
- 1:00:19Speaker 15: and he's used your daughter to help him do it.
- 1:00:21Speaker 15: So I just say to avoid that, you can let
- 1:00:24Speaker 15: those things go if you can. You know, I know
- 1:00:27Speaker 15: they mean a lot to you, But you know this
- 1:00:31Speaker 15: guy's so crazy. You may not want to bring all
- 1:00:33Speaker 15: this drama into your life. And if you if you
- 1:00:36Speaker 15: leave the stuff and let it go and make new memories,
- 1:00:39Speaker 15: that way, you don't have to interact with him about
- 1:00:41Speaker 15: anything other than your daughter, Steve, she's.
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: In the middle staring up mess an eight year old. Really, really, lady,
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: you're ridiculous this entire letter, and surely put it to
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: you mildly, but I'm not. So I'm gonna go down
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: the letter and I'm gonna show you what you've done
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: this entire time. You've been divorced for two years. You
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: trying to get on with your life in two years?
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: Get on with it. Max's husband talked down to me
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: and called me names, and I chalked it up to
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: him being childish and inadequate as a man. Now, you
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: said you were in an abusive marriage. Emotionally abusive marriage,
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: that's what you said. So you tried to remain freely
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: towards him for the sake of our eight year old daughter.
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: Too recently, he adores our order and got to keep
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: the house divorced all that time, they wouldn't.
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: And now here's this departy. I'm star trip on.
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: I left a lot of my personal belongings in the
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: house because they wouldn't fit in my apartment. My grandmother's
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: sewing machine. What somebody wanted an old throwing machine you
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: don't even sew next, and a lot of my family
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: photo albums'mly her apartment where the photo albums don't fit
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: in it. And I don't even understand what you leave
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: this stuff over here? And a few of my prize possessions.
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: If something has been somewhere sitting in a storage or
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: his house for two years, how prize of a possession.
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: Wasn't I found that if I ain't seen or use
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: something in two years, I probably don't need it. That's
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: including that old raggedar throw on the sheet. I'm just
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: being real with you now. We share a custod of
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: our daughter. When I go pick up, he never invites
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: me in.
- 1:02:40Speaker 4: Why you won't in there?
- 1:02:41Speaker 9: Didn't you say he was abusive?
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: But I think that's why you left the stuff over
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: there so you can have some type of little tie
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: to get back in the house. That's why you ain't
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: moving on with your life. You have left all your
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: stuff over there. That's tying you to hear hold.
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: On, Steve, hold On.
- 1:03:03Speaker 15: We'll have part two of Steve's response coming up a
- 1:03:06Speaker 15: twenty three minutes after the hours subject. She's in the
- 1:03:10Speaker 15: middle stirring up mess. We'll get back into it right
- 1:03:12Speaker 15: after this. You're listening Steve Hardy Morning Show.
- 1:03:21Speaker 7: Hey, it's Tommy and this season fill your home with

- 1:03:53Speaker 15: All right, come on, Steve, let's recap today's Strawberry Letters.
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: Subject. She's in the middle stirring up mess.
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: This ridiculou. This woman is blaming an eight year old
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: girl for staring up mess in her house and relationship
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: that don't exist. You don't even have a relationship. You
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: said you were in any emotionally abusive marriage for eight years.
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: Your husband talked down to you, call your names, and
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: you chalked it up to him being childish and.
- 1:04:23Speaker 9: Childish and inadequate. We'll come back to that in a minute.
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: And then you try to be friendly because of your
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: daughter and to recently eight year old here those our
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: daughter got kept the room in the house and everything,
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: and you left some of your person belongings in the
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: house because they wouldn't fit in my apartment. Well, let's
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: talk about the stuff you left. It don't fit then apartment.
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: Nord sewing machine don't fit an apartment, I bet it do.
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: And how small of an apartment you got where you
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: can't get a photo album in?
- 1:04:51Speaker 9: Now what you leave a photo album for?
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: Because you're trying to have some times to keep going
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: over there. I'm gonna prove that to you in a minute.
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: And a few of prize possessions that I had to
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: leave behind. Wait a minute. If you haven't seen this
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: stuff or had possession of it in two years, how
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: prized of a possession is it? I doubt it. We
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: share accustomed our daughter. When I go to pick up
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: he never invites me inside. It's his house, y'all divorced.
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: He don't like you, and you don't like him, And
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: why are you trying to go in this house of
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: this abusive man? For My daughter got in the car
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: sunny and said her daddy was painting the house and
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: put a lot of stuff in boxes and he could
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: sell it.
- 1:05:33Speaker 9: I asked him what was in the box, and she
- 1:05:35Speaker 9: said a lot of your stuff.
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: I called him when I got home, and after he
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: was putting my things out, he said it was time
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: to rid his house to yore junk, especially since I
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: was with a new man. Now. I asked him why
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: he thought I had a new man. He said, my
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: daughter told him. He bragged that he and my child
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: have an unbreakable bond, and she tells him everything. Like
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: Shirley said, he manipulates her into telling her everything. The
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: baby is eight. How this grown man can't get information
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: out of eight year old? She ain't a hostage. All
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: you got to do is buy some candy a doll
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: and she started talking. But she don't even know she
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: hurting you. She just telling her daddy the truth. I
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: thought I was dating discreetly, but apparently she's been listening
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: to my conversation. What you ain't dating discreetly and she
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: ain't been listening? You been talking in front of the baby?
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: And what you tripping? You've been divorced two years. You
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: can date.
- 1:06:35Speaker 9: Why you got to be discreet?
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: Why are you holding on to something God has clearly
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: gotten you out of, but you keep tying yourself back
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: to the past by leaving all your prize possessions over there.
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: That ain't that prize after all. I asked him if
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: I could pick up my belonging sooner.
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: He said no.
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: He told me I could pick up. He told me
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: to focus on my new relationship and leave him alone.
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: This is another form of abuse, and my daughter started
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: all of this? What should I do? And how can
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: I get my stuff? Your daughter didn't start nothing. He
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: was abusing you before y'all had the baby. And let
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: me ask you something else. What makes you think he's
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: still not verbally abusive? What did it stop after the divorce?
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: Because sound like he doing is still. But now you
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: blaming the eight year old baby. Stop blaming other people
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: for yo mistake. You picked this nothing to do. Now
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: you're blaming the baby fault. The baby just got you
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: as the mama and him as the daddy. It ain't
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: her fault. Now I'm with Shirley. He's probably manipulating her,
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: so don't blame the girl. I've also found in my
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: life that if I ain't used something in two years,
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: I probably don't need it or missing right. And when
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: I start looking at my cabinets and stuff like that,
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: and I see stuff I ain't seen in a long time,
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: I throw it away because it ain't that much. You
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: hanging on to something that ain't nothing? Photo album sewing machine?
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: What how old are you? Who got a photo album? Anyway?
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: Where your iPhone at?
- 1:08:21Speaker 4: The baby?
- 1:08:22Speaker 14: Ate?
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: The iPhone been out for all your pictures? Ought to
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: be an I cloud? What did you got a photo
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: album for? Who got a poly rod?
- 1:08:30Speaker 14: What?
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: Lady?
- 1:08:33Speaker 26: What?
- 1:08:34Speaker 9: This letter is ridiculous from top to bottom.
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: And you scared after two years to say you in
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: a relationship.
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: I really don't get that.
- 1:08:46Speaker 9: Lady, two years you're supposed to be dating. Tell him
- 1:08:50Speaker 9: so I'm with Shirley. Tell your new boyfriend you need
- 1:08:54Speaker 9: to go over there and pick up some stuff.
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: Yeah, and all of this is because you say at
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: the top of the letter you chalked it up to
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: him being childish and inadequate as a man. Don't you
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: still see the childish and inadequate behavior acting out even now?
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: But you gonna blame it on the real child that's
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: eight years old? Are you ridiculous?
- 1:09:19Speaker 26: Man?
- 1:09:20Speaker 9: Don't nobody give it about your stuff?
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: You really don't. You made that clear.
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: When the last time you made something, I don't want
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: to wear your little record clothes you made and the
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: baby show don't want to wear it. So she probably
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: helped with the sewing machine in the box. Lady, miss
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: me and Shirley. With this ridiculous letter you just wrote up,
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: you need to grow up and stop as acting childish
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: and inadequate and forget that man that was abusive to
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: you and gon live your life.
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: You ain't gonna handle new man because you're wearing about
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: that photo.
- 1:10:02Speaker 9: App who got her?
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: Where your I phone?

- 1:11:45Speaker 12: That don't bother y'all. Well, it bothered me enough that
- 1:11:48Speaker 12: I wrote a poem about it.
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: I'm serious here.
- 1:11:50Speaker 12: It is, Hey, Santam, how come there are no black hels?
- 1:11:54Speaker 12: I don't see any.
- 1:11:55Speaker 5: Black als, Santah, what's up with that? Most of the

- 1:25:19Speaker 30: like giving up on my dream and I understand not

- 1:25:24Speaker 30: a position where I don't know how to achieve my
- 1:25:27Speaker 30: dream to go after them because some of them, you know,
- 1:25:30Speaker 30: are things that I can't control. But it's just rough
- 1:25:34Speaker 30: when you know, you pray and things just stay the same,
- 1:25:40Speaker 30: and I'm just waiting for things to change and been
- 1:25:42Speaker 30: waiting for a long time, but trying to, you know,

- 1:25:53Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, based on what she's said that that's
- 1:25:56Speaker 2: the deliver for most people. That's It's the same dilemma
- 1:26:01Speaker 2: I face from time to time because oftentimes some of
- 1:26:05Speaker 2: the things that I'm asking God for, it takes a
- 1:26:09Speaker 2: lot longer than I would like for it to take
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: because God's timing is different than our timing. But here's
- 1:26:16Speaker 2: something I had to understand. When you're asking God for
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: something and it's taken a while to get it, that's
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: because God is preparing it his way, not your way,
- 1:26:27Speaker 2: and that he's allowing you and putting this delay on
- 1:26:31Speaker 2: it and allowing you to go through the process because
- 1:26:34Speaker 2: there's several lessons he wants you to learn in the
- 1:26:37Speaker 2: waiting process. It's going to be a test of your face.
- 1:26:41Speaker 2: Faith is going to require your patience. It's going to
- 1:26:44Speaker 2: cause you to trust more and more in his timing.
- 1:26:46Speaker 2: He may be trying to show some other people in
- 1:26:49Speaker 2: your life something and he's using you. But the reason
- 1:26:52Speaker 2: he's using you is because he knows you can handle it.
- 1:26:57Speaker 2: He knows that when it gets your dog for you,
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: that you will be the one who comes to him
- 1:27:03Speaker 2: and he'll provide you with comfort and strength to get
- 1:27:07Speaker 2: through it. He's not gonna give it to you right
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: when you want it. Everything I've ever gotten from God
- 1:27:14Speaker 2: has seemed to be delayed, seen to be postponed, put off.
- 1:27:19Speaker 2: Has required me to do my due diligence, to practice
- 1:27:23Speaker 2: my faith, to trust in his timing, to learn that
- 1:27:27Speaker 2: it's harming only him, to stop collaborating with people all
- 1:27:31Speaker 2: the time. I used to try to force deals by
- 1:27:33Speaker 2: calling people to try to put him together.
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: I called it networking. God called it interfering.
- 1:27:40Speaker 2: And I would get in the way of so much
- 1:27:42Speaker 2: of what God was trying to do that it would
- 1:27:44Speaker 2: even further delay my blessing because He now he had
- 1:27:47Speaker 2: to undo all this garbage I had created by getting
- 1:27:50Speaker 2: in the way. I know it's difficult when you ask
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: God for something and it doesn't seem to get answered
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: right away. God said he would hear an answer your prayer.
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: He ain't saved by Friday. That's not in the Bible.
- 1:28:05Speaker 2: The date of when he's coming back ain't in the Bible.
- 1:28:08Speaker 2: You know why he don't give us dates because if
- 1:28:11Speaker 2: he gave us dates, that would destroy the one principle
- 1:28:14Speaker 2: that's required of us faith. If he gave us dates,
- 1:28:18Speaker 2: you wouldn't need faith. You just need patience. It's easy
- 1:28:22Speaker 2: to be it's easy to be patient that it is
- 1:28:24Speaker 2: to be faithful. Those are two different practices because sometimes
- 1:28:29Speaker 2: in waiting, you waiting on something, You waiting on three o'clock, Well,
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: you know, if the clock is moving, eventually be three.
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: But faith is different than patience. Faith is the belief
- 1:28:39Speaker 2: in things that you cannot see. That's what faith is,
- 1:28:43Speaker 2: and system He putting it on you like this because
- 1:28:46Speaker 2: you've been chosen for this, because you the one. You
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: have been chosen for this journey. He picked you. It's you,
- 1:28:54Speaker 2: you the one man. I wish I had something that
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: I found on the internet early this morning at four o'clock,
- 1:29:00Speaker 2: something that described totally what's happening to me right now.
- 1:29:04Speaker 2: And it was saying, I'm paraphrasing it right now, but
- 1:29:07Speaker 2: I was chosen for this. I am uniquely made.
- 1:29:12Speaker 9: You are uniquely made.
- 1:29:14Speaker 2: All of you. God made you just the way He
- 1:29:17Speaker 2: wanted you to be. You you because He made you you.
- 1:29:21Speaker 2: Your journey ain't nobody else's journey. Quit comparing yourself to
- 1:29:24Speaker 2: other people. Quit looking at your life and matching it
- 1:29:27Speaker 2: up with somebody's life.
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: That ain't your life. God got a whole.
- 1:29:31Speaker 2: Nother life for you. So what, you didn't get that
- 1:29:36Speaker 2: kind of airplane, you're still flying. So what you don't
- 1:29:41Speaker 2: live in that house? Ain't your house still nice? Don't
- 1:29:43Speaker 2: you still appreciate the one you in?
- 1:29:47Speaker 9: Yeah, you ain't got the money Oprah Winfrey got, but
- 1:29:49Speaker 9: dog go on it.
- 1:29:50Speaker 4: Who do hell?
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: Quit tripping yourself out? Quit I'm telling you, man, quit
- 1:29:56Speaker 2: tripping yourself out looking at your life compared to other
- 1:30:00Speaker 2: people's lives, because that ain't your life. That ain't who
- 1:30:04Speaker 2: God made you to be. Do you know that there's
- 1:30:07Speaker 2: rich people out there and famous people out here that
- 1:30:11Speaker 2: would trade lives with you.
- 1:30:15Speaker 9: Because they are so unhappy?
- 1:30:16Speaker 2: So many they ain't got no family, They ain't got
- 1:30:19Speaker 2: nobody up around them that care about them. But they
- 1:30:22Speaker 2: ain't got nobody to sit down and playing nothing with.
- 1:30:25Speaker 2: Everybody in their life is conniving, stabbing them in the back,
- 1:30:30Speaker 2: trying to avoid to get a peace. Man, I got
- 1:30:32Speaker 2: so many people around me. Man, it's sicken in that times.
- 1:30:36Speaker 2: But I'm also grateful that God gave me Marjorie. God
- 1:30:39Speaker 2: gave me my kids. Brandy Carley gave me, BJ gave
- 1:30:43Speaker 2: me my grandkids. That people that genuinely care about me.
- 1:30:46Speaker 2: My daughter called me this morning before I got on
- 1:30:49Speaker 2: the air, talked to me for forty minutes, didn't ask
- 1:30:51Speaker 2: me for nothing, scared me, but didn't ask me for nothing.
- 1:30:54Speaker 2: That's what I got. I got family, man, So whatever,
- 1:30:57Speaker 2: I'm cool with it. Stop looking at other people's lives
