Hegseth Blocks More Promotions. A News Brief & Commentary.
According to a recent New York Times article, Secretary Hegseth removed the names of more women and people of color from a promotions list. (1) Individuals who have honorably served the country for years and have been vetted by senior officers have been removed without explanation. And while Hegseth has the authority to take this step, the question is, should he? It's an insult to these officers, as the assumption is they're on this list because of DEI mandates.
