- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome. It is Verdict with Senator Ted Cruz. Ben Ferguson
- 0:04Speaker 1: with you and Senator Cruz unfortunately could not do the
- 0:07Speaker 1: show with me right now because he has lost his voice.
- 0:10Speaker 1: He did, however, I have enough strength to deal with
- 0:14Speaker 1: questioning today of elist tephonic and the confirmation hearing, and
- 0:17Speaker 1: I'm going to have that for you. Plus we're going
- 0:20Speaker 1: to talk about the big news of Donald Trump saying
- 0:23Speaker 1: we're gonna have a ninety day moratorium on fourign A.
- 0:27Speaker 1: What does that mean, Well, it means that Marco Rubio
- 0:29Speaker 1: is going to have a lot to look at when
- 0:31Speaker 1: it comes to where your tax dollars are going. And
- 0:34Speaker 1: I'm gonna have for you back from January seventeenth, Marco
- 0:38Speaker 1: Rubio and Ted Cruz's conversation on the three questions that
- 0:42Speaker 1: he said he'll ask regarding every state department program. Before
- 0:47Speaker 1: we get into that, though, I want to talk to
- 0:49Speaker 1: you about my friends at IFCJ. I want to say,
- 0:52Speaker 1: first off, to so many of you that listened to Verdict,
- 0:56Speaker 1: thank you for your help for the people in his
- 1:00Speaker 1: On January twenty seventh, it is the International Holocaust Remembrance
- 1:05Speaker 1: Day that is less than a week away. Is the
- 1:07Speaker 1: day that we remember the great evil of the Holocaust,
- 1:10Speaker 1: when millions of Jews were slaughtered during the Nazis reign
- 1:13Speaker 1: of terror. Today, the rise in global anti Semitism and
- 1:17Speaker 1: the constant attacks on Israel show us that it's more
- 1:21Speaker 1: important than ever to remember the atrocites of the Holocaust
- 1:24Speaker 1: to ensure it never happens again. And that's why I
- 1:27Speaker 1: am proud to partner with the International Fellowship of Christians
- 1:31Speaker 1: and Jews. They do incredible work. With your help, they
- 1:35Speaker 1: provide food, shelter, and safety to Jews in Israel and
- 1:39Speaker 1: around the world, including those remaining Holocaust survivors. Now your
- 1:44Speaker 1: donation will help provide that food, water, medicine, and other
- 1:49Speaker 1: basic necesses to Jewish communities. Your donations have also paid
- 1:53Speaker 1: for bomb shelters and armored ambulances just to get people
- 1:57Speaker 1: of the hospital in areas where the terror attack and
- 2:01Speaker 1: your gift well, it allows for the world to see
- 2:04Speaker 1: that there are still many of us that stand with
- 2:06Speaker 1: the Jewish people and against the growing anti Semitism and
- 2:10Speaker 1: hatred that we're seeing right now. So to show your support,
- 2:13Speaker 1: I ask you to visit support IFCJ dot org. That's
- 2:18Speaker 1: one word support if CJ dot org. You can also
- 2:23Speaker 1: call to donate eight eight eight for eight eight IFCJ
- 2:28Speaker 1: that's eight eight eight for eight eight if CJ, or
- 2:32Speaker 1: support i FCJ dot org. So, as I mentioned earlier,
- 2:37Speaker 1: Senator Cruz has lost his voice. I could literally not
- 2:40Speaker 1: even talk to him earlier. We were having to communicate
- 2:43Speaker 1: in texts. But what he did do today was some
- 2:46Speaker 1: pretty incredible work on the Hill. Senator Cruz question at
- 2:50Speaker 1: least a phonic and the confirmation hearing, and I want
- 2:52Speaker 1: you to hear what he had to say. Also, I'm
- 2:55Speaker 1: going to play for you in a moment the back
- 2:57Speaker 1: and forth with Marco Rubio and what is changing at
- 2:59Speaker 1: the time State Department. This in light of the big
- 3:02Speaker 1: breaking news from the President about pausing foreign aid for
- 3:07Speaker 1: ninety days.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Now.
- 3:08Speaker 1: After that, I'm also going to have something else for you.
- 3:11Speaker 1: There's also a new morning podcast that I'm the host
- 3:13Speaker 1: of called The forty seven Morning Update. It gives you
- 3:17Speaker 1: the biggest news in a short form podcast ten to
- 3:20Speaker 1: twelve minutes of what is going to happen each and
- 3:23Speaker 1: every day in Donald Trump's administration from the Oval Office.
- 3:27Speaker 1: We'll have that for you as well, But first take
- 3:29Speaker 1: a listen to what Senator Cruz had to say today
- 3:32Speaker 1: on Capitol Hill in the questioning of Elie staphonic.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Congratulations on your nomination.
- 3:37Speaker 4: You're going to be terrific.
- 3:39Speaker 3: I want to go back to topic you discussed with
- 3:42Speaker 3: Senator Cornyn. I want to focus on a Ram's push
- 3:45Speaker 3: to build a nuclear arsenal, which poses I think the
- 3:50Speaker 3: most immediate and acute threat to American national security. When
- 3:55Speaker 3: the Iatola chance death to America, he means it, and
- 4:00Speaker 3: I believe he would absolutely detonate a nuclear weapon over
- 4:04Speaker 3: an American city if he could. The Trump administration got
- 4:08Speaker 3: Iran's nuclear program in a box and kept it there.
- 4:12Speaker 3: President Trump withdrew from the catastrophic Obama Iran nuclear deal
- 4:17Speaker 3: in twenty eighteen. He imposed maximum pressure in twenty nineteen.
- 4:22Speaker 3: He invoked the UN snapback mechanism in the UN Security
- 4:26Speaker 3: Council Resolution two two three one to reimpose international sanctions
- 4:31Speaker 3: in twenty twenty. For that entire time, Iran was deterred
- 4:36Speaker 3: from making significant advances on their nuclear program. They did
- 4:40Speaker 3: not even enrich uranium above five percent or cascade advanced centrifuges.
- 4:47Speaker 3: Starting in November twenty twenty, the Iranian regime gambled that
- 4:51Speaker 3: it could start rushing to a nuclear arsenal and the
- 4:54Speaker 3: incoming Biden administration would let them. Unfortunately proved correct. In November,
- 5:02Speaker 3: the regime approved a new law calling for major nuclear advances.
- 5:07Speaker 3: In January, they started enriching at twenty percent at fordoh
- 5:12Speaker 3: the underground enrichment bunker built into a mountain that the
- 5:16Speaker 3: Obama Iran nuclear deal left open. The incoming and Biden
- 5:21Speaker 3: administration responded with appeasement. In February, immediately after being inaugurated,
- 5:29Speaker 3: they rushed to the UN to rescind President Trump's snapback,
- 5:33Speaker 3: again allowing international sanctions to expire for the next four years.
- 5:39Speaker 3: The administration continually dismantled pressure on the regime and refused
- 5:45Speaker 3: to impose sanctions. We know the result today, the Ayatola
- 5:50Speaker 3: has achieved a nuclear breakout time of zero. We now
- 5:56Speaker 3: face the very real possibility of an Iranian nuclear arsenal.
- 6:01Speaker 3: I do not believe that this is a threat the
- 6:03Speaker 3: US can tolerate, and I am confident that both the
- 6:07Speaker 3: President and Secretary of State Rubio agree. I ask Secretary
- 6:12Speaker 3: of State Rubio whether he intends to go to the
- 6:14Speaker 3: United Nations, and again trigger the snapback mechanism. As a
- 6:18Speaker 3: part of his written testimony to this committee. Here was
- 6:22Speaker 3: Secretary of Rubio's response, quote, I believe it is in
- 6:26Speaker 3: our national security interest for the UN Security Council to
- 6:29Speaker 3: snap back the sanctions that were suspended under the JCPOA.
- 6:35Speaker 3: I will execute the President's guidance and work with our
- 6:38Speaker 3: allies to ensure that snapback takes place. First, do you
- 6:44Speaker 3: agree with Secretary of Rubio's assessment that it is in
- 6:47Speaker 3: the national security interests of the United States to snap
- 6:50Speaker 3: back those sanctions? Yes, talk about how you would execute
- 6:55Speaker 3: a strategy to do so, either unilaterally or working with allies.
- 7:01Speaker 5: That will be a strategy that I developed with the
- 7:02Speaker 5: National Security Council, in tandem with Secretary of Rubio and
- 7:05Speaker 5: President Trump, to work with our allies within the United Nations,
- 7:09Speaker 5: within the Security Council. And there are allies that are
- 7:13Speaker 5: already considering this and looking at it, and that has
- 7:15Speaker 5: been publicly reported. But obviously, pushing back on Iran is
- 7:19Speaker 5: a top priority. It was a success during President Trump's
- 7:22Speaker 5: first term, and we've seen the catastrophic results in loss
- 7:26Speaker 5: of life during the previous four years. When you have
- 7:29Speaker 5: had an embolded Iran that has led to directly the
- 7:33Speaker 5: October seventh terrorist attack against Israel and his Belah firing
- 7:37Speaker 5: tens of thousands of rockets against Israeli civilians.
- 7:41Speaker 3: Let's move to another topic. You and I talked about
- 7:44Speaker 3: the deep rot in the United Nations when it comes
- 7:47Speaker 3: to supporting terrorism against America and our allies, especially Israel.
- 7:52Speaker 3: As you discussed with Senator McCormick, UNRA has for decades
- 7:56Speaker 3: provided material support for Hamas and other terrorist groups in Gaza.
- 8:00Speaker 3: World Health Organization has also been deeply complicit in the
- 8:03Speaker 3: use of hospitals by Hamas for terrorist activities, including for
- 8:07Speaker 3: the holding of hostages. The complicity of these organizations deepened
- 8:12Speaker 3: after October seventh, the Biden administration embraced UNRA, and the
- 8:17Speaker 3: World Health Organization. Congress prohibited the Biden administration from funding UNRA,
- 8:22Speaker 3: but the administration officials circumvented that prohibition by using UNRA infrastructure. Yesterday,
- 8:28Speaker 3: the President rightly and immediately withdrew our participation from them.
- 8:32Speaker 3: I think that was a critical first step. But the
- 8:35Speaker 3: next step is to enable American citizens to hold these
- 8:38Speaker 3: organizations accountable.
- 8:40Speaker 4: We currently have a very odd.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Legal environment where these organizations enjoy more sovereign immunity than
- 8:46Speaker 3: states and thus are shielded from accountability. Last Congress, I
- 8:51Speaker 3: introduced the Liable Act and was joined by four current
- 8:54Speaker 3: members of this Committee, including as well as Secretary of
- 8:57Speaker 3: State Rubio. The bill will allow American victims of terrorism
- 9:01Speaker 3: and their family to sue international organizations that support terrorism
- 9:05Speaker 3: against this I will soon reintroduce it in this Congress.
- 9:09Speaker 3: What is your understanding of the role these organizations have
- 9:12Speaker 3: played in facilitating terrorism against Americans, Israelis and our allies.
- 9:17Speaker 5: Well, UNRA, there were individuals in UNRA who participated, who
- 9:22Speaker 5: executed and committed terrorist acts against Israel. On October seventh, Sinwar,
- 9:28Speaker 5: the leader of HAMAS carried an UNRA passport. You had
- 9:32Speaker 5: a HAMAS data center under UNRA headquarters. So the rot
- 9:37Speaker 5: is deep. Congress made the right decision. I was proud
- 9:39Speaker 5: to be one of the leaders when it came to
- 9:41Speaker 5: defunding UNRA, and I am committed to holding them accountable
- 9:45Speaker 5: and working with the US Senate and the US House
- 9:48Speaker 5: and the President if that legislation passes.
- 9:51Speaker 3: Pterfect, thank you.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Now.
- 9:52Speaker 1: There's also other big news that we want to talk about,
- 9:55Speaker 1: and that deals with the Secretary of State. The Secretary
- 9:58Speaker 1: of State now has an even bigger job than any
- 10:02Speaker 1: Secretary of State had during the time of Joe Biden
- 10:05Speaker 1: Kamala Harris being in office. And what's really cool about
- 10:09Speaker 1: what's happening now is Donald Trump is empowering leaders to
- 10:13Speaker 1: do their job.
- 10:13Speaker 2: Well.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Now, there was some big breaking news, and that is
- 10:17Speaker 1: that President Donald Trump signed an executive order suspending all
- 10:20Speaker 1: US foreign assistance programs for ninety days, pending a comprehensive
- 10:25Speaker 1: review to ensure their alignment with his administration's policy objectives. Now,
- 10:30Speaker 1: this suspension affects a wide range of global initiatives, including
- 10:33Speaker 1: humanitarian aid, economic development, and health programs. Notably, the US
- 10:39Speaker 1: contributes approximately seventy point three billion annually in foreign aid,
- 10:43Speaker 1: supporting various international efforts. So what did the President do.
- 10:48Speaker 1: He said it's time for all of this to go
- 10:50Speaker 1: back under a review and is calling out other countries
- 10:54Speaker 1: for what he described was not paying their fair share.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Who's going to be looking over this, well, that would
- 11:00Speaker 1: be Marco Rubio. He will do a deep dive into
- 11:04Speaker 1: where your tax tours are going and then come back
- 11:07Speaker 1: with recommendations. What's also interesting is how this relates back
- 11:11Speaker 1: to Marco Rubio and his conversation with Senator Cruz on
- 11:15Speaker 1: January seventeenth. Take a listen to what he had to say.
- 11:18Speaker 3: Then, thank you, mister chairman. And I got to say, boy,
- 11:21Speaker 3: that sounds good.
- 11:22Speaker 2: Mister chairman, that is as good as it sounds to me.
- 11:25Speaker 3: Thank you well, congratulations and I'm looking forward to the
- 11:27Speaker 3: next two years working together. Thank you and the Sener Rubio,
- 11:31Speaker 3: let me say congratulations to you as well. We're going
- 11:33Speaker 3: to miss you on this committee. We're going to miss
- 11:35Speaker 3: you in the Senate, but you're going to do an
- 11:36Speaker 3: extraordinary job at Foggy Bottom. And I will say, if
- 11:41Speaker 3: they capture you and tie you up in the basement,
- 11:43Speaker 3: we will send a team to pull you out. You know,
- 11:49Speaker 3: as I look back over the last four years of
- 11:51Speaker 3: the Biden Harris administration, there are a lot of policies
- 11:54Speaker 3: that have done a lot of damage domestic policies, economic policies,
- 11:58Speaker 3: but I think all of the those pale compared to
- 12:02Speaker 3: the damage that has been done to national security and
- 12:04Speaker 3: foreign policy over the last four years. Over the last
- 12:08Speaker 3: four years, this administration is systematically undermined and abandoned our allies,
- 12:14Speaker 3: and it has systematically shown weakness and appeasement to our enemies,
- 12:19Speaker 3: and the consequence has been disastrous. We've gone from four
- 12:22Speaker 3: years ago peace and prosperity to today a situation with
- 12:28Speaker 3: wars across the globe and every enemy of America stronger
- 12:33Speaker 3: than they were when this administration came into office. I
- 12:37Speaker 3: am confident the incoming administration is going to change that direction.
- 12:41Speaker 3: I am confident that President Trump and the White House,
- 12:43Speaker 3: and you as Secretary of State, are going to shift
- 12:47Speaker 3: us back to where we should be, which is standing
- 12:49Speaker 3: by our friends and allies and standing up to our enemies.
- 12:54Speaker 3: Do you agree with that assessment? Is that what you
- 12:56Speaker 3: intend to do a Secretary of State?
- 12:58Speaker 6: Well, let me say first to foreign plse the United
- 13:00Speaker 6: States will be set by the President, and my job
- 13:02Speaker 6: is to advise on it and ultimately to execute. I
- 13:04Speaker 6: think the President has been abundantly clear, and that is
- 13:07Speaker 6: his policy is going to be driven about making America safer, stronger,
- 13:10Speaker 6: and more prosperous. As I said in my opening statement,
- 13:13Speaker 6: everything the State Department does, every policy, every program, every
- 13:17Speaker 6: dollar it spends, every initiative it takes has to answer
- 13:21Speaker 6: three questions. Does it make us safer? Does it make
- 13:23Speaker 6: us stronger or does it make us more prosperous? And
- 13:25Speaker 6: if it doesn't, if the answer is not yes to
- 13:27Speaker 6: one of those three, you're going to have a hard
- 13:30Speaker 6: time moving that forward because that's the priority to the president,
- 13:33Speaker 6: and that's the priority that, by the way, voters gave
- 13:35Speaker 6: this president when they elected him. You point to a
- 13:37Speaker 6: number of things that I think are critically important that
- 13:40Speaker 6: and let me I'll phrase it a different way, but
- 13:42Speaker 6: I think we're saying the same thing. We have lost
- 13:44Speaker 6: to terrence and multiple theaters around the world. So as
- 13:48Speaker 6: an example, and I use this as a small scale example,
- 13:50Speaker 6: but it's really important. One I think of the year
- 13:52Speaker 6: was twenty twenty, twenty nineteen. The Wagner group tried to
- 13:56Speaker 6: get cute and came after some of Americans, Americans operating
- 13:59Speaker 6: in series and fire from the sky rained down on them,
- 14:03Speaker 6: and that group was pushed back pretty hard. That's deterrence.
- 14:08Speaker 6: They threatened us, and they knew what the response would be.
- 14:10Speaker 6: I recall the consternation here and in other places when
- 14:15Speaker 6: Solomoni met his demise, but I can tell you it
- 14:19Speaker 6: impacted Ranian behavior for a substantial period of time. No
- 14:22Speaker 6: matter how tough they talked it impacted their behavior. I
- 14:25Speaker 6: think it's important to re establish de terrence and to
- 14:28Speaker 6: the extent that that's been lost for a variety of reasons.
- 14:32Speaker 6: The lack of deterrence is an invitation to war. The
- 14:35Speaker 6: lack of deterrence is an invitation to hostility. It prevents
- 14:38Speaker 6: the very thing that we hope to achieve, which is
- 14:41Speaker 6: peace and stability in the world. And I do think
- 14:44Speaker 6: we've lost the terrence, and I think in some ways
- 14:47Speaker 6: it contributed to what happened in Ukraine. An item I
- 14:50Speaker 6: know is very close to you and you've worked very on,
- 14:52Speaker 6: and we talked earlier today about is energy dependence. I
- 14:55Speaker 6: recall President Trump at both a NATO summit and at
- 14:58Speaker 6: the United Nations, and I called the United Nations one
- 15:01Speaker 6: in particular. President Trump said Germany is dependent, entirely going
- 15:05Speaker 6: to be left dependent on China, on Russia for its energy,
- 15:09Speaker 6: and they laughed at him. There were diplomats in the
- 15:12Speaker 6: hall that was snickering. That's exactly what happened. It is
- 15:14Speaker 6: one of the reasons why Putin believed he could invade
- 15:17Speaker 6: Europe is because Europe would not push back because they
- 15:19Speaker 6: depended on him so much for energy. Now Europe is
- 15:22Speaker 6: to be congratulated. They have moved very swiftly, particularly the Germans,
- 15:26Speaker 6: to diversify their energy resources. But one could argue that
- 15:29Speaker 6: we may never have had that invasion had that dependent
- 15:32Speaker 6: not existed, because maybe who would have thought the European
- 15:35Speaker 6: response would have been more forceful than he anticipated. So
- 15:39Speaker 6: I do think re establishing deterrence and strength is important
- 15:42Speaker 6: because it prevents war and it gives us leverage and diplomacy,
- 15:45Speaker 6: which where we hope to solve ninety nine point nine
- 15:48Speaker 6: percent of the global disagreements we hope to solve through diplomacy,
- 15:52Speaker 6: not through armed conflict.
- 15:54Speaker 3: I think that's very well said.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Now, as I mentioned earlier, Senator Cruz lost his voice.
- 16:00Speaker 1: We expect him hopefully to be back with us on
- 16:02Speaker 1: Friday after getting some rest. But let me put something
- 16:05Speaker 1: else on your radar screen real quick. Many of you
- 16:08Speaker 1: that voted for Donald Trump and support the MAGA agenda
- 16:11Speaker 1: have said for a long time that you would love
- 16:13Speaker 1: to have something each and every day that gives you
- 16:16Speaker 1: kind of a blueprint of what the administration is actually
- 16:19Speaker 1: working on. Well, I am hosting a new podcast called
- 16:23Speaker 1: The forty seven Morning Update. You can grab it wherever
- 16:26Speaker 1: you get your podcasts, and I'm gonna let you hear
- 16:29Speaker 1: exactly what that podcast sounds like. It is a short podcast,
- 16:33Speaker 1: ten to twelve minutes to start your day. Take a listen.
- 16:36Speaker 7: Five hundred billion dollars in AI infrastructure.
- 16:40Speaker 8: Start team there as of today.
- 16:42Speaker 2: You're fired. Get out of here. You're fired, Get out,
- 16:47Speaker 2: Get the.
- 16:48Speaker 9: Hell out of here. You're listening to the forty seven
- 16:52Speaker 9: Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
- 16:54Speaker 2: Good morning, It's Ben Ferguson. It's nice to have you
- 16:56Speaker 2: with us.
- 16:57Speaker 1: Here are the big stories that we're covering today on
- 16:59Speaker 1: the forty seven Morning up Date.
- 17:01Speaker 2: First up, it's black Tuesday.
- 17:03Speaker 1: When it comes to federal workers, they're getting pink slips
- 17:06Speaker 1: from Donald Trump saying you're fired. So who all lost
- 17:10Speaker 1: their jobs? And why I'll have that for you in
- 17:12Speaker 1: a moment. Also, Donald Trump moved America forward with a
- 17:17Speaker 1: five hundred billion dollar AI investment from the private sector.
- 17:21Speaker 2: That's happening right here in the US of A.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Finally, promise is made and promises kept on border security,
- 17:28Speaker 1: major moves by President Trump to make sure that we
- 17:31Speaker 1: have a secure southern border. It's the forty seven Morning
- 17:35Speaker 1: Update and it starts right now.
- 17:37Speaker 4: Story number one.
- 17:38Speaker 1: It was black Tuesday for many in the federal government,
- 17:42Speaker 1: as the head of the TSA and the Coast Guard
- 17:45Speaker 1: were fired on Trump's first full day in office. President
- 17:49Speaker 1: Trump moved quickly to remake the Department of Homeland Security,
- 17:52Speaker 1: firing the heads of the Transportation Security Administration and the
- 17:56Speaker 1: Coast Guard before their terms were even up, and eliminated
- 17:59Speaker 1: all all members of a key aviation security advisory group
- 18:03Speaker 1: as well. Now, Trump's immigration policy changes through the most
- 18:07Speaker 1: attention at Homeland Security, but he's also making changes at
- 18:12Speaker 1: the rest of the massive agency. Members of the Aviation
- 18:16Speaker 1: Security Advisory Committee received a memo Tuesday morning saying that
- 18:20Speaker 1: the Department is eliminating the membership of all advisory committees
- 18:25Speaker 1: as part of a commitment to eliminating the misuse of
- 18:28Speaker 1: resources and ensuring that the Department of homelanded security activities
- 18:33Speaker 1: prioritize specifically our national security. The Aviation Security Committee, which
- 18:39Speaker 1: was mandated by Congress after the nineteen eighty eight PM
- 18:42Speaker 1: one oh three bombing over Lockinbee, Scotland, will technically continue
- 18:47Speaker 1: to exist, but it won't have any members to carry
- 18:50Speaker 1: out the work of examining safety issues at airlines and
- 18:54Speaker 1: airports liberals are claiming at this hour, but the reality
- 18:57Speaker 1: is there are plenty of people that are doing that
- 19:00Speaker 1: right now. Who's angry about it? Well, major unions, that's right,
- 19:05Speaker 1: because the airlines and majored unions were a member of
- 19:08Speaker 1: the group associated with all of this government bureaucracy. This
- 19:13Speaker 1: is another example of Donald Trump saying I'm coming in
- 19:17Speaker 1: and I'm cleaning house.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Now.
- 19:19Speaker 1: That isn't all who lost their jobs in our bloated government.
- 19:22Speaker 1: You know, Donald Trump became very famous for being the
- 19:25Speaker 1: guy that says you're fired. Well, Donald Trump is telling
- 19:29Speaker 1: many Biden appointees you're out of a job, and now
- 19:32Speaker 1: it's a he said. She said, no, no, no, you
- 19:34Speaker 1: didn't fire me. I already quit. I wish I was joking,
- 19:38Speaker 1: but I'm not. Donald Trump says he plans to remove
- 19:41Speaker 1: over one thousand Biden appointees, and there are many that
- 19:46Speaker 1: are very angry about President Donald Trump on Tuesday saying
- 19:49Speaker 1: I have these plans because I'm not keeping any of
- 19:52Speaker 1: them Joe Biden's appointees from their government positions. He said, yeah,
- 19:56Speaker 1: you're gone, and he had already fired four individuals immediately,
- 20:00Speaker 1: including a celebrity shift, Jose Andreas and a former top general,
- 20:06Speaker 1: Mark Milly. You're fired, is what Trump wrote in an
- 20:09Speaker 1: early morning post on his True social platform that named
- 20:13Speaker 1: Milly and Andreas, as well as his former Iran envoy
- 20:17Speaker 1: Brian Hook and the former Atlanta mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms,
- 20:21Speaker 1: who Biden appointed to an export council. Andreas and Bottom
- 20:26Speaker 1: said they quote unquote had already quit their posts before
- 20:29Speaker 1: Trump's inauguration. Trump's post said his personal office is quote
- 20:33Speaker 1: actively in the process of identifying and removing over one
- 20:37Speaker 1: thousand presidential appointees from the Biden administration who are quote
- 20:42Speaker 1: not aligned with our vision to make America great again.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Donald Trump wasn't done there.
- 20:48Speaker 1: When it came to changing things very quickly, he also
- 20:52Speaker 1: decided to move to another issue. Trump ordered all federal diversity,
- 20:58Speaker 1: equity and Inclusion employees based on paid leave starting on Wednesday.
- 21:04Speaker 1: Yes NBC News reporting that the Trump administration also directed
- 21:08Speaker 1: government agencies to draw plans for firing workers in DEI roles.
- 21:14Speaker 1: The Trump administration is ordering all federal employees the White
- 21:18Speaker 1: House announced in these roles on paid lead by Wednesday
- 21:22Speaker 1: evening at five o'clock that according to a new memo
- 21:25Speaker 1: from the Office of Personnel Management. The memo, issued Tuesday
- 21:29Speaker 1: to heads of departments and government agencies set that deadline
- 21:33Speaker 1: of no later than five pm Eastern Time Wednesday to
- 21:37Speaker 1: inform the employees that they will be put on paid
- 21:39Speaker 1: administrative leave as the agencies prepare to close all diversity,
- 21:45Speaker 1: equity and inclusion related offices and programs and to also
- 21:50Speaker 1: remove all websites and social media accounts for such offices immediately.
- 21:57Speaker 1: This is another promise Donald Trump made to the American people,
- 22:01Speaker 1: and he's seeing it through clearly, starting in his very
- 22:04Speaker 1: first week in office.
- 22:05Speaker 4: Now story number two in major.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Breaking news coming from the Oval Office, President Donald Trump
- 22:11Speaker 1: on Tuesday announced Stargate Project.
- 22:13Speaker 2: Now, what is that.
- 22:14Speaker 1: It is a new American company which will invest five
- 22:19Speaker 1: hundred billion dollars over the next four years building a
- 22:24Speaker 1: new AI infrastructure, specifically in the United States of America.
- 22:29Speaker 1: The President also asked Oracles Larry Ellison, Soft Bank CEO,
- 22:34Speaker 1: and Open AI Sam Altman to the White House for
- 22:39Speaker 1: this major announcement, where President Trump explained it this.
- 22:42Speaker 7: Way to my honor to welcome three of the world's
- 22:44Speaker 7: leading technology CEOs and in the case of Larry, Larry Ellison,
- 22:49Speaker 7: it's well beyond technology is sort of CEO of everything.
- 22:55Speaker 7: He's an amazing man, an amazing business person. But to
- 23:00Speaker 7: announce the largest AI infrastructure project by farign history, and
- 23:05Speaker 7: it's all taking place right here in America. As you know,
- 23:09Speaker 7: there's great competition for AI and other things, and they're
- 23:15Speaker 7: coming in at the highest level. We're joined by Oracle
- 23:18Speaker 7: executive chairman Larry Ellison, Soft Bank CEO, my friend Masa
- 23:24Speaker 7: Masa Yoshi's son and CEO of Open AI, and I
- 23:29Speaker 7: would say, by far the leading expert based on everything
- 23:33Speaker 7: I read, Sam Altman. So that's great that you're coming
- 23:37Speaker 7: in together. That's a massive group of talent and money. Together,
- 23:42Speaker 7: these world leading technology giants are announcing the formation of Stargate.
- 23:48Speaker 7: So put that name down in your books, because I
- 23:51Speaker 7: think you're going to hear a lot about it in
- 23:53Speaker 7: the future. A new American company that will invest five
- 23:56Speaker 7: hundred billion dollars at least in AI infrastructure in the
- 24:01Speaker 7: United States and very very quickly, moving very rapidly, creating
- 24:05Speaker 7: over one hundred thousand American jobs almost immediately.
- 24:09Speaker 1: This massive project is going to create, as you heard
- 24:12Speaker 1: the President just say, there over one hundred thousand high
- 24:15Speaker 1: quality jobs, and it will catapult America in front of
- 24:20Speaker 1: China in the AI race. Not only will this create
- 24:25Speaker 1: more than one hundred thousand American jobs and significantly advance
- 24:28Speaker 1: AI applications, particularly and this is the part that many
- 24:33Speaker 1: Americans should be the most excited about in healthcare, such
- 24:36Speaker 1: as early disease detection and personalized treatments, key figures from
- 24:41Speaker 1: the private sector. Putting this all together, joining President Trump
- 24:46Speaker 1: with this announcement at the White House is proof yet again,
- 24:49Speaker 1: as Donald Trump has put it, that if we want
- 24:51Speaker 1: to fix the biggest problems in the world, we should
- 24:53Speaker 1: be looking to the private sector and not the US
- 24:56Speaker 1: government to do it.
- 24:57Speaker 4: And lastly, story number three.
- 25:00Speaker 1: Promise is made, promise is kept. When it comes to
- 25:02Speaker 1: national security and the Southern Border, the man who's in
- 25:07Speaker 1: charge of securing the Southern Border, Tom Homan, said today
- 25:11Speaker 1: that ice deportation operations have already begun.
- 25:15Speaker 8: Teams are all there as of today. We gave them
- 25:18Speaker 8: the in direction to prioritize public safety threats that we're
- 25:21Speaker 8: looking for, so we've been working on the target list.
- 25:24Speaker 8: There was some discussion about with Chicago because a Pacific
- 25:28Speaker 8: operational plan was released so we had to look at
- 25:30Speaker 8: and reevaluate does this raise after safety concerns? And it does,
- 25:35Speaker 8: but we address that and teams are all the effective today.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Teams are out there today. So what exactly has happened
- 25:42Speaker 1: since Donald Trump was sworn in? I have the list
- 25:45Speaker 1: for you now. It is a list that the media
- 25:48Speaker 1: is not wanting to talk about because it's actually a
- 25:51Speaker 1: very extensive list of promises made and promises kept. So
- 25:57Speaker 1: let's go through it so you know exactly where we
- 25:59Speaker 1: are in the process of securing the border. On January
- 26:03Speaker 1: twenty first, Donald Trump signed several executive orders aimed at
- 26:08Speaker 1: strengthening border security. Number one, a National Emergency Declaration declaring
- 26:15Speaker 1: a national emergency at the US Mexico border, enabling the
- 26:19Speaker 1: deployment of federal troops to assist in border enforcement. There
- 26:23Speaker 1: was another promise that was made, and that deal with
- 26:26Speaker 1: the remain in Mexico policy. Well, Donald Trump paid off
- 26:29Speaker 1: on that promise, reinstating the policy requiring asylum seekers to
- 26:33Speaker 1: wait in Mexico during US immigration proceedings, which will have
- 26:38Speaker 1: a massive impact on stopping the flow of illegal immigrants
- 26:41Speaker 1: across the border. One of the other major issues Donald
- 26:45Speaker 1: Trump talked about back in the campaign in twenty sixteen
- 26:48Speaker 1: for president was building a border wall, while Donald Trump
- 26:52Speaker 1: is ordered the resumption and now the completion of the
- 26:55Speaker 1: border wall along the southern border as fast as humanly
- 26:59Speaker 1: pos Also, in another major move, and the media lost
- 27:03Speaker 1: their minds over this, Donald Trump decided to terminate birthright citizenship,
- 27:09Speaker 1: signing an order to end automatic US citizenship for a
- 27:13Speaker 1: child born in the US to an undocumented immigrant. This
- 27:18Speaker 1: move is likely going to face major legal challenges due
- 27:21Speaker 1: to the fourteenth Amendment. That doesn't mean that Donald Trump
- 27:24Speaker 1: isn't willing to have that conversation now. Donald Trump also
- 27:29Speaker 1: took a major action which shocked the world, especially those
- 27:33Speaker 1: that advocate for illegal immigrants. He decided to suspend the
- 27:36Speaker 1: CBP one app. Now Disabling this app, which allows migrants
- 27:42Speaker 1: to schedule legal entry appointments, resulted in cancelations for thousands
- 27:49Speaker 1: and thousands of applicants, sending a very clear message that
- 27:52Speaker 1: you can't just come across a wide open southern border
- 27:56Speaker 1: and think we are going to let you stay here.
- 27:58Speaker 1: The app right now does not. And also, in what
- 28:02Speaker 1: is being described as the biggest and boldest move of
- 28:05Speaker 1: all of these actions, is the present's decision to designate
- 28:10Speaker 1: cartels as terrorists organizations. Classifying certain drug cartels and gangs
- 28:16Speaker 1: such as MS thirteen as foreign terrorist organizations, would allow
- 28:21Speaker 1: for aggressive actions to be taken against them, including using
- 28:26Speaker 1: the US military. You combine all of this together, and
- 28:30Speaker 1: this marks a significant shift in US immigration policy, reflecting
- 28:36Speaker 1: every turn to an expansion of measures from President Donald
- 28:39Speaker 1: Trump's first term. In translation, Donald Trump made a lot
- 28:44Speaker 1: of promises and he is keeping them, especially when it
- 28:47Speaker 1: comes to securing the southern border.
