- 1:32Speaker 1: Money Making Conversations. Attorney Benjamin Crow from good Morning, Good morning,
- 1:42Speaker 1: good morning, I love bus ain uping, I'm good, big brother.
- 1:49Speaker 1: I first want to play thank you, Sirashaw McDonald, because
- 1:55Speaker 1: I was one of the first benefactors of the Money
- 2:00Speaker 1: Making Conversations before he formalized it. It is because of
- 2:04Speaker 1: him that I've been able to raise my platform and
- 2:10Speaker 1: go on TV and talk about these important messages about
- 2:13Speaker 1: fighting foud, children, speaking up for our charitment, trying to
- 2:17Speaker 1: prevent the next halt tag. And that's all because Rashan
- 2:22Speaker 1: McDonald had been and to say that you have a
- 2:25Speaker 1: voice that we need to get out to the greater society.
- 2:29Speaker 1: And so I want to thank you at publicly as
- 2:32Speaker 1: I have to have many times traveling. Ben Uh, where
- 2:39Speaker 1: are you based that? It's a little background on me.
- 2:41Speaker 1: What w are you based on? Where's your your business based? That?
- 2:44Speaker 1: I'm based out of Tallahasset, Florida, but I'm expanding my
- 2:47Speaker 1: business as we speak. Uh, naturally, I will be having
- 2:52Speaker 1: a headquarters in Washington, in Los Angeles, California, and the
- 2:57Speaker 1: very near it's called it's called money May conversations y'all
- 3:01Speaker 1: expanded from Talla Askad, the DC, the l like, come
- 3:04Speaker 1: on now, that's that was that's the money make prepostion
- 3:07Speaker 1: is all about the great thing about you know, I've
- 3:12Speaker 1: always was aware of Benjamin and we met two years
- 3:16Speaker 1: ago at the Neighborhood Awards in the summertime, and he
- 3:19Speaker 1: was right. He approached me to Richard, I need you
- 3:22Speaker 1: to put me on my map. A friend of our attorney,
- 3:25Speaker 1: Rick answers, like, Rick, is is he serious? He said,
- 3:27Speaker 1: he's very serious about you keeping them out. And so
- 3:31Speaker 1: we sat down and basically what I do is I
- 3:34Speaker 1: just listen to people, and I tried to make sure
- 3:37Speaker 1: I understand your brand. And I think a lot of
- 3:39Speaker 1: people fail in that whole situation, not listening, not understanding,
- 3:43Speaker 1: not thoroughly evaluating the opportunity. So when I sat down
- 3:47Speaker 1: with him, we just started. He just called me, period.
- 3:49Speaker 1: I don't represent Benjamin Crow, but I advise him and
- 3:53Speaker 1: a lot of advised a lot of people. So you
- 3:55Speaker 1: called me to reach what about this? What about this?
- 3:57Speaker 1: What about this? What about this scenario? And I said, yes,
- 4:00Speaker 1: I know the different scenarios. And finally, finally he said,
- 4:04Speaker 1: we shout, I want my own show man. I'm tired
- 4:06Speaker 1: of waiting on you. I said, okay, I'll go gil care.
- 4:08Speaker 1: So we set aside and we sat down. We created
- 4:11Speaker 1: evidence of innocence. With that being said, Vinja McCrow, Was
- 4:15Speaker 1: it so important that you host evidence of innocence? Absolutely?
- 4:20Speaker 1: And this really was was showned finished, And I told
- 4:25Speaker 1: what was important to me what I'm there in America
- 4:29Speaker 1: and courtroom every day when you go in those courtrooms
- 4:33Speaker 1: and you don't take my word for it, sitting in
- 4:35Speaker 1: the back of the courtroom and you just see that
- 4:38Speaker 1: justice anything but in America, And so as I was
- 4:43Speaker 1: talking to him about that, he talked about, well, how
- 4:47Speaker 1: can we get the methods out better? And I started
- 4:51Speaker 1: telling him about the workout do on the Illigence Project,
- 4:54Speaker 1: and that is all these wrongfully and consperrated individuals who
- 4:58Speaker 1: have been clear by DNA evidence and clearly convincing evidence
- 5:03Speaker 1: that they never did the crime, and they had to
- 5:06Speaker 1: spend ten twenty years of their lives in prison for
- 5:10Speaker 1: a crime they didn't commit, mostly Black and Hispanic people.
- 5:15Speaker 1: And so Rashawn said, that is a story and we're
- 5:20Speaker 1: not gonna tell it as a story uh you know, tragedy,
- 5:25Speaker 1: but we're gonna tell it as the story of triumph
- 5:28Speaker 1: because the individuals never gave up even though the whole
- 5:32Speaker 1: world was saying they were wrong with saying they were guilted,
- 5:36Speaker 1: them and their family members kept the faith, they kept praying.
- 5:40Speaker 1: And so this is a story of inspiration. This is
- 5:43Speaker 1: a short of inspiration, and more importantly, hopefully, because TV
- 5:48Speaker 1: is such a powerful media, it can change their mindset
- 5:52Speaker 1: and the mentalities of all those juries that we see
- 5:56Speaker 1: across America that keep returning these just and believable verdicts
- 6:03Speaker 1: where we have everdence on video and it's clear, But
- 6:07Speaker 1: yet they keep saying nobody's gonna be held accountable. So
- 6:11Speaker 1: that's what we're doing with evidence of innocence. And it
- 6:14Speaker 1: was all your vision that helped me craft that narrator
- 6:17Speaker 1: to start trying to impact people in real life, not
- 6:21Speaker 1: just on TV. Thank you, And he's right, because I'm
- 6:30Speaker 1: I am a fan of those crime style dramas, but
- 6:34Speaker 1: I always felt that I wanted to put myself in
- 6:36Speaker 1: a position and somebody told me that I did something wrong,
- 6:40Speaker 1: and because they said, the jail is filled with people
- 6:43Speaker 1: not you, that's that's the general sentiment. But there are
- 6:47Speaker 1: people in jail who should be in jail. And when
- 6:49Speaker 1: I sat down with Benjamin attorney, Benjamin, I went, um,
- 6:56Speaker 1: what what point in that when I would have given up?
- 6:58Speaker 1: Maybe what point what I've been motivated to say, I'm
- 7:02Speaker 1: gonna get out? And some of these people have been
- 7:04Speaker 1: inconcerated for twenty seven years, to imagine twenty seven years
- 7:08Speaker 1: of your life. At some point on that journey, you
- 7:11Speaker 1: said I give and these people didn't say that. And
- 7:15Speaker 1: we we went to with the Dallas. We've been to Atlanta,
- 7:18Speaker 1: We've been in Portlands, We've been the harder all the
- 7:20Speaker 1: places we've been. Benjamin, what was your favorite case that
- 7:23Speaker 1: we that we produced so far. But that's a difficult cause. Say,
- 7:30Speaker 1: I mean, all of them are the individual cases, and
- 7:33Speaker 1: I can give a lot of credits for that. What
- 7:35Speaker 1: people really don't understand about rashand McDonald it's his ability
- 7:40Speaker 1: to lift. Now he's gonna give me his opinion. But
- 7:43Speaker 1: he was listening, I mean to every thought, every con sillable,
- 7:48Speaker 1: everyth you try to explain. And so he told he
- 7:52Speaker 1: be Warren and the producers as Jupiter, that hey, we
- 7:57Speaker 1: don't want these crickets on the shows we want. We
- 8:00Speaker 1: showed the Bigness stand as its own show with a
- 8:04Speaker 1: different theme and a different method. So whether it's the
- 8:09Speaker 1: gay and lesbian uh case of in Portland, Oregon, or
- 8:14Speaker 1: whether it's the brother down and Ballas who got out
- 8:19Speaker 1: and when he got out him and his mentor that
- 8:22Speaker 1: he met in prisons on it mouth of freedom was incredible,
- 8:27Speaker 1: or whether you go to Harford, Connecticut, Uh, and that
- 8:32Speaker 1: was an incredible story in Atlanta, the sister who was
- 8:35Speaker 1: wrongful incarcerated for the shape baby syndrome. It was her husband,
- 8:41Speaker 1: this black man, this black glove. It wasn't into these
- 8:45Speaker 1: organships where somebody from outside our community had to come
- 8:48Speaker 1: and save us. It was a husman who stood in
- 8:51Speaker 1: the gap that never gave up. I mean they re
- 8:54Speaker 1: mortgaged their home, they are borrowed money from everybody, but
- 8:59Speaker 1: he just believed and his wife, So I can't pick
- 9:02Speaker 1: which one is the best person. You gotta watch small
- 9:07Speaker 1: It's it's amazing that. Then that's what we're trying to
- 9:09Speaker 1: do with ladies, Jim, That's what I'm trying to do.
- 9:11Speaker 1: That's why I'm trying to engage with money making conversation.
- 9:14Speaker 1: Also the stories that I tell I wanted to be impactful.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Now now you're not just doing things for Rashan McDonald
- 9:20Speaker 1: evidence and innocence. Now you're involved. They'll become a martial
- 9:23Speaker 1: movie that's coming out this fall. Correct, you're making a
- 9:25Speaker 1: camera on that, Yes, sir, A Reginald husband who are
- 9:29Speaker 1: directed and produced Boomerang and Jane go. Uh, he's doing
- 9:34Speaker 1: a movie of my personal hero. They're good Marshall and
- 9:38Speaker 1: he asked that myself and uh Paper our parents who
- 9:42Speaker 1: are represented. Uh appears in the cameo at the very
- 9:47Speaker 1: ending of the movie to tie the past to the president.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Because a lot of things that third of Marshall and
- 9:55Speaker 1: the civil rights. Who offers of the past we're doing
- 9:58Speaker 1: is very relevant happening in the world today, right, and
- 10:02Speaker 1: he was brought that connection Um and China. Also, as
- 10:06Speaker 1: you know, I'm doing who killed on any with just
- 10:11Speaker 1: six week cockey shippers that everybody is uh greatly anticipating.
- 10:16Speaker 1: And that was very interesting because you got to talk
- 10:19Speaker 1: about how Trupop, even though he's one of the post
- 10:24Speaker 1: well no well of we're respected rappers in history in
- 10:31Speaker 1: the music industry, he was also a young black man
- 10:35Speaker 1: and even though he was killed than a very public
- 10:38Speaker 1: execution probably the most famous drive by student industry were
- 10:45Speaker 1: with everywhere on the night of a night type of fright,
- 10:49Speaker 1: he too did not get his due process of the law.
- 10:52Speaker 1: As many young black men, whether they're the victims or
- 10:56Speaker 1: their their cues, they don't get due process of the law,
- 11:01Speaker 1: the fair administration of justice. And that's what we're fighting for.
- 11:06Speaker 1: And that's why I thank you so much for Chane
- 11:08Speaker 1: forgiving me this platform to keep making that court. Whether
- 11:11Speaker 1: I'm on any TV war, whatever we're doing, I'm making
- 11:15Speaker 1: that point that we too deserve due process. We are
- 11:18Speaker 1: American senators and we want our Constitution to right five
- 11:21Speaker 1: theaters too. We want out chair for the American dream
- 11:24Speaker 1: for our children. And that's the bounder in and out
- 11:26Speaker 1: the court room. Thank you, right. I just guys, just
- 11:36Speaker 1: gotta close with this one question with you here because
- 11:39Speaker 1: of the fact that you know you made a statement
- 11:41Speaker 1: to me, and I always bring it up, the statement
- 11:43Speaker 1: that that he made to me. That lets me know
- 11:45Speaker 1: that I'm going to tea to move forward my platform
- 11:48Speaker 1: of exposing him information everybody is that he said go
- 11:51Speaker 1: to He said, go to any court room in America,
- 11:54Speaker 1: sit in the back of the court room, and you'll
- 11:57Speaker 1: see that justice is not justice for all that's important
- 12:02Speaker 1: and that should resonate. And so that's a quote I
- 12:04Speaker 1: got from him as a quote that I use all
- 12:06Speaker 1: the time. It's a passion quote for me because when
- 12:09Speaker 1: I'm telling my stories that most of my stories are
- 12:11Speaker 1: gonna be African American driven. You have to important that
- 12:13Speaker 1: when I say leads back a tone of opportunity to
- 12:16Speaker 1: tone of success, in a tone of belief that you
- 12:19Speaker 1: too can be successful. That's the basis of money making conversations. Amen.
- 12:28Speaker 1: So before we close, Mr Cropper attorney or what what
- 12:31Speaker 1: what you got all your schedule coming out this week.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Where I got a creative schedule is always they're going
- 12:37Speaker 1: over the past to participate on the panel of talking
- 12:41Speaker 1: about coach just howably we prevent uh our children from
- 12:46Speaker 1: becoming the death past pad right. And then certainly we're
- 12:50Speaker 1: working on the documentary about in the Sheriff Nicles, Woman
- 12:54Speaker 1: and Motion, which is a great story about how this
- 12:58Speaker 1: sister not only used to influence on television, but used
- 13:02Speaker 1: it to recruit minorities and women into the space program.
- 13:07Speaker 1: So you know, rich you you got me doing all
- 13:11Speaker 1: kind of things. Now, brother, if you open this door,
- 13:15Speaker 1: and then I have to say this conclusion. Money making
- 13:18Speaker 1: conversations is such a rivet and concept um. It really
- 13:23Speaker 1: is tied into what we talked about in the courtroom
- 13:27Speaker 1: when we talk about the American dream based on the
- 13:31Speaker 1: U S Constitution has to be uh opportunities for all
- 13:37Speaker 1: our children. And so when you talk about the American
- 13:40Speaker 1: dream and you talk about many making conversations, isn't that
- 13:44Speaker 1: what it's about, trying to write children a better life,
- 13:47Speaker 1: give out children a better future. Right? And so I'm
- 13:50Speaker 1: with your brother, your vision is incredible. You about so
- 13:54Speaker 1: many that you don't know you're inspired. I mean lawyers
- 13:57Speaker 1: who I'm working with. They keep looking at this money
- 14:00Speaker 1: making conversations and they just are privoted by so Rasha
- 14:05Speaker 1: just keeping being that inspiration for our soul. I pray
- 14:09Speaker 1: for you ere you're good. I appreciate it again, Ladies
