- 0:01Speaker 1: We are getting more information now about what's going to
- 0:05Speaker 1: happen when it comes to this investigation into the president
- 0:12Speaker 1: of the United States of America. Democrats were now being
- 0:15Speaker 1: told are very concerned about what happened with this piece
- 0:18Speaker 1: of paper or the documents that are showing now that
- 0:22Speaker 1: Donald that Joe Biden could be in real trouble. We
- 0:27Speaker 1: are also hearing now that the White House some of
- 0:32Speaker 1: the staffers are actually looking for ways to leave the
- 0:35Speaker 1: White House. Yeah, leave the White House. Why because they
- 0:43Speaker 1: want to get paid in case this disaster actually happens. Now,
- 0:48Speaker 1: he's been able to get away with everything so far.
- 0:52Speaker 1: The question is will he continue to be able to
- 0:56Speaker 1: get away with it. Ket McCarthy was asked last night
- 1:00Speaker 1: about holding somebody in contempt, right, I mean, this bribery
- 1:04Speaker 1: scheme is a real deal. And now Congress has said
- 1:07Speaker 1: they're going to hold Christopher Ray in contempt. I want
- 1:10Speaker 1: you to hear what he had to say about these
- 1:13Speaker 1: new documents.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Lord knows, no one's coming on primetime except Speaker of
- 1:19Speaker 2: the House Kevin McCarthy.
- 1:21Speaker 1: So tell me about this deal with Chris.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Ray at the FBI. Is he going to be held
- 1:26Speaker 2: in contempt?
- 1:28Speaker 3: He will be held in contempt if he doesn't do
- 1:30Speaker 3: what is responsible to do. Remember, in the Commitment to America,
- 1:33Speaker 3: Republicans said we'd go and make sure we had accountability
- 1:36Speaker 3: and transparency. We had a whistleblower come before us and
- 1:40Speaker 3: say that he'd gone to the FBI about hearing of
- 1:43Speaker 3: a five million dollar bribe from a foreign individual to
- 1:47Speaker 3: then Vice President Biden and then talked about sending money
- 1:52Speaker 3: to LLCs and others. We subpoenaed that because remember, Congress
- 1:56Speaker 3: has the constitutional right of the oversight of the FB.
- 2:00Speaker 3: This document is not even classified. What is the first
- 2:03Speaker 3: thing that Director Ray said. He didn't even acknowledge whether
- 2:06Speaker 3: he had it. He said he wouldn't provide it. I
- 2:08Speaker 3: had a phone call with him, explained to him, if
- 2:10Speaker 3: he does not provide this, we will hold him in contempt.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Now he said, yes, we do have the document, but
- 2:16Speaker 3: he'll only show it to the chairman and ranking member.
- 2:19Speaker 3: That is not how the constitution works. Everybody on the
- 2:23Speaker 3: Committee of overfsite, Republican and Democrats, have a right to
- 2:27Speaker 3: see this unclassified document. If he doesn't come forth and
- 2:30Speaker 3: allow everyone to see it, we will move contempt charges
- 2:34Speaker 3: against him. On Thursday, Secretary Blincoln had the same problem
- 2:38Speaker 3: when he would not give the documents about what happened
- 2:41Speaker 3: in Afghanistan. He now realizes, yes, he should apply it
- 2:45Speaker 3: to everybody on the committee. Congress has the constitutional right
- 2:50Speaker 3: to oversee and to hold this government accountable. We are
- 2:54Speaker 3: loan the voice of the people, and we have a
- 2:56Speaker 3: right to see it and look. The FBI now says
- 2:59Speaker 3: there's an ongoing events instigation. I wonder why there was
- 3:01Speaker 3: an investigation before. They also said they need to protect
- 3:04Speaker 3: the individual. We understand that I see documents that way
- 3:07Speaker 3: all the time. Redact whatever you need to protect the individual,
- 3:11Speaker 3: but show us the document and everybody on oversight.
- 3:14Speaker 4: It is interesting, Speaker that there is an allegation about.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Kevin McCarthy, and the point he's making here is, Hey,
- 3:21Speaker 1: we are in fact going to hold them accountable. We're
- 3:24Speaker 1: not going to just allow them to get away with this.
- 3:27Speaker 1: We're not going to act like this isn't happening, and
- 3:30Speaker 1: we're going to make sure that they understand that they
- 3:33Speaker 1: work for us, and they work for the American people.
- 3:38Speaker 1: They work for us. Now, Democrats are also trying to
- 3:42Speaker 1: fight back. Democratic Representative Jamie Raskins, He's a Democrat from Maryland.
- 3:50Speaker 1: He spoke after reviewing the FBI Biden document, and he says,
- 3:54Speaker 1: you guys are crazy if you think this is a
- 3:56Speaker 1: big deal. In essence, take a listen.
- 3:58Speaker 5: I with the oversight majorities demand for us to see
- 4:03Speaker 5: this document. We saw the document, and the FBI team
- 4:10Speaker 5: actually went way beyond showing as the document to explain
- 4:14Speaker 5: the historical and prosecutorial legal context of the document. And
- 4:21Speaker 5: from that what I learned was that Attorney General Barr
- 4:26Speaker 5: named Scott Brady, who was the US Attorney for Western Pennsylvania,
- 4:32Speaker 5: to head up a group of prosecutors and FBI agents
- 4:35Speaker 5: who would look into all of the allegations related to Ukraine.
- 4:41Speaker 5: As Attorney General Bar himself put it, we have to
- 4:44Speaker 5: take everything coming from Ukraine with a grain of salt.
- 4:48Speaker 5: But after Rudy Giuliani surfaced these allegations, this group was
- 4:55Speaker 5: appointed and they looked into the the form ten twenty three.
- 5:03Speaker 5: And this group was created in June and spent the
- 5:10Speaker 5: summer on it, and as I understand it, in August
- 5:15Speaker 5: determined that there was no grounds to escalate from an
- 5:19Speaker 5: initial assessment to a preliminary investigation, and the standard for
- 5:24Speaker 5: moving from an assessment to a preliminary investigation. In FBI
- 5:29Speaker 5: prosecutorial protocol is whether there are articulable facts giving rise
- 5:35Speaker 5: to suspicion of criminal activity. So they apparently decided that
- 5:40Speaker 5: there was not, and they called an end to the investigation.
- 5:43Speaker 5: Now recalled that this is under Attorney General William Barr
- 5:47Speaker 5: and his handpicked prosecutor mister Brady, who was a Trump appointee.
- 5:53Speaker 5: They were the ones who decided that there was no grounds. Further,
- 5:57Speaker 5: based on what this confidential human source reported from a
- 6:05Speaker 5: conversation with another person, they decided there was no grounds
- 6:08Speaker 5: to escalate this up to the investigative prosecutorial chain. So
- 6:14Speaker 5: if there's a complaint, the complaint is with Attorney General
- 6:17Speaker 5: William Barr, the Trump Justice Department, and the team that
- 6:21Speaker 5: the Trump administration appointed to look into it.
- 6:24Speaker 1: By the way, this is where I have to stop
- 6:26Speaker 1: and I have to go back to and I want
- 6:27Speaker 1: you to hear how the Democrats are going to spend this,
- 6:29Speaker 1: because it's important you understand this. What they're saying is, well,
- 6:32Speaker 1: since Trump was president when this document was found, that
- 6:35Speaker 1: everything's fine. We know that when Trump was president. The
- 6:39Speaker 1: FBI director James Comer, James comey, excuse me, went to
- 6:44Speaker 1: the White House to entrap people around Donald Trump. They
- 6:47Speaker 1: went after and arrested people that work for Donald Trump.
- 6:50Speaker 1: They spied on Donald Trump. They had NSA wiretapping on
- 6:54Speaker 1: people around Donald Trump from his campaign. So the idea
- 6:58Speaker 1: that because the timeline fits when Trump was in power,
- 7:01Speaker 1: therefore nothing they got a chance to look at this.
- 7:03Speaker 1: These scumbags, the Peter Strucks, the lease of Pages that
- 7:09Speaker 1: were trying to overthrow the will the people and allowing
- 7:11Speaker 1: for a coup attempt were in charge. By the way,
- 7:14Speaker 1: when they were in peaching Donald Trump for crimes they
- 7:20Speaker 1: accused him of that they knew were inaccurate. They knew
- 7:23Speaker 1: they were created by Hillary Clinton. Lies that were created
- 7:26Speaker 1: by Hillary Clinton, lies that were created by the Democrat
- 7:30Speaker 1: natural creed. The same FBI set there and said, all right, yeah,
- 7:34Speaker 1: we don't like him. He's trying to get rid of
- 7:35Speaker 1: the deep state. We don't like he's challenging our powers. Fine,
- 7:38Speaker 1: Burnemouth's steak. We know everything they're using against him isn't real.
- 7:41Speaker 1: We've already looked at it, we've already classified it is
- 7:44Speaker 1: not being real. It's Burnham at the steak. That's what
- 7:47Speaker 1: they did. That's what they've done. Now, I also want
- 7:52Speaker 1: to deal with something else, and that is these recordings
- 7:56Speaker 1: and the FBI and this document and these whistleblowers. I
- 8:00Speaker 1: was able to have a long conversation with Senator Ted Cruz.
- 8:04Speaker 1: I co host a show with him, Verdict with Ted Cruz.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Many of you listened to it, and he went into
- 8:09Speaker 1: deep detail and also was able to question the FBI
- 8:13Speaker 1: about why the hell are they hiding all this information
- 8:16Speaker 1: from the American public. I want you to listen to
- 8:19Speaker 1: that conversation, Senator. This is one of the most shocking
- 8:23Speaker 1: stories to come out of Washington, DC in a while,
- 8:26Speaker 1: Senator Chuck Grassley revealing that a foreign national allegedly bribed
- 8:31Speaker 1: not Hunter Biden, but Joe Biden and has audio recordings
- 8:35Speaker 1: of it.
- 8:37Speaker 4: Yes, this is a big damn deal, and I'll tell
- 8:39Speaker 4: you today in the Capitol, I was arguing with reporters.
- 8:44Speaker 4: They were, of course obsessed. The only thing they wanted
- 8:46Speaker 4: to talk about was the in Trump indictment and to say,
- 8:49Speaker 4: isn't this horrible? Doesn't this show that he could never
- 8:51Speaker 4: possibly serve in any public office again? And I was
- 8:56Speaker 4: standing right outside the Senate floor arguing with the reporters saying,
- 9:01Speaker 4: why are none of you covering the bombshell allegations that
- 9:06Speaker 4: came out against the president of the United States. By
- 9:08Speaker 4: the way, Donald Trump is not currently the president of
- 9:11Speaker 4: the United States. No corporate reporter would acknowledge that there's
- 9:15Speaker 4: a guy named Joe Biden who is the president. And
- 9:19Speaker 4: last week we had number one a whistleblower come forward
- 9:22Speaker 4: and say that there was a confidential informant who told
- 9:26Speaker 4: the FBI that Joe Biden received a five million dollar
- 9:31Speaker 4: bribe personally from a senior executive in Bisma, the Ukrainian
- 9:37Speaker 4: natural gas company, in exchange for official conduct. That is
- 9:44Speaker 4: a massive bombshell. That is look we talked about in
- 9:50Speaker 4: Monday's podcast, and if you didn't listen to it, go
- 9:52Speaker 4: back and listen to it. We do a deep dive
- 9:54Speaker 4: into the Trump indictment. We talked about how the threshold
- 9:58Speaker 4: to indict a president should be incredib high. It shouldn't
- 10:01Speaker 4: be for tick a tak offenses. It shouldn't be for
- 10:05Speaker 4: one administration going after their predecessor because they hate them.
- 10:08Speaker 4: It should be instead, very very high. Let me tell
- 10:11Speaker 4: you what clears that threshold, real serious, credible evidence of
- 10:17Speaker 4: a President of the United States taking bribes from foreign nationals.
- 10:21Speaker 4: That clears the threshold by any measure. The Constitution provides
- 10:26Speaker 4: that impeachment show lie for bribery, treason, or other high
- 10:33Speaker 4: crimes and misdemeanors. So bribery is explicitly laid out in
- 10:37Speaker 4: the Constitution. And then two days ago Chuck Grassley on
- 10:42Speaker 4: the Senate floor made a stunning allegation. So Chuck Grassley
- 10:47Speaker 4: is the only Senator that I know of who has
- 10:49Speaker 4: read this FBI form documenting what the confidential informant said.
- 10:54Speaker 4: And when the FBI gave it to the House representatives,
- 10:57Speaker 4: they redacted it. They erased key elements, And of the
- 11:00Speaker 4: things they redacted was the allegation that there are seventeen
- 11:05Speaker 4: recordings demonstrating this primary this this bribery. Seventeen recordings, fifteen
- 11:14Speaker 4: of them with the Barisma official and Hunter Biden, and
- 11:18Speaker 4: two of them shockingly with the Bearisma official and Joe Biden.
- 11:23Speaker 4: Now I don't know if this is true, but if
- 11:26Speaker 4: it is true, this should lead the six o'clock news.
- 11:30Speaker 4: And I want you to listen to Chuck Grassley on
- 11:33Speaker 4: the Senate floor laying this out.
- 11:37Speaker 6: The ten twenty three produced to the House Committees redacted
- 11:43Speaker 6: reference that the four national who allegedly bribed Joe and
- 11:49Speaker 6: Hunter Biden allegedly has audio recordings of his conversation with
- 11:55Speaker 6: them seventeen such recordings. According to the ten twenty three,
- 12:03Speaker 6: the foreign national possesses fifteen audio recordings of phone calls
- 12:08Speaker 6: between him and Hunter Biden. According to the ten twenty three,
- 12:14Speaker 6: the foreign national possesses two audio recordings of phone calls
- 12:19Speaker 6: between him and then Vice President Joe Biden. These recordings
- 12:25Speaker 6: were allegedly kept as a sort of insurance policy for
- 12:29Speaker 6: the foreign national in case that he got into a
- 12:31Speaker 6: tight spot. The ten twenty three also indicates that then
- 12:36Speaker 6: Vice President Joe Biden may have been involved in brusman
- 12:42Speaker 6: employing Hunter Biden.
- 12:44Speaker 1: Senator, you hear that, and this is tradecraft for these
- 12:47Speaker 1: Ola garks and corrupt people, right. They want to blackmail
- 12:50Speaker 1: you and they want to have something on you. Whether
- 12:53Speaker 1: you're an Ola gark, a shady businessman, whether you're in
- 12:57Speaker 1: Russia or China, Venezuela or Ukraine. You want an insurance
- 13:01Speaker 1: policy that if someone comes after you, you've got leverage.
- 13:05Speaker 1: Something that Jeffrey Epstein apparently did incredibly well is another
- 13:08Speaker 1: example of this type of leverage aka trade craft. And
- 13:12Speaker 1: that's what Chuck Grassley is saying here.
- 13:16Speaker 4: Yes, look, there's a whole lot of substance to unpack
- 13:20Speaker 4: from that statement on the Senate floor on Monday. Number one.
- 13:27Speaker 4: Chuck Grassley, to the best of my knowledge, is the
- 13:29Speaker 4: only Senator who's read the FBI formed ten twenty three.
- 13:34Speaker 4: If there's another senator, he or she has not stated
- 13:36Speaker 4: that publicly. I have not read it. They will not
- 13:39Speaker 4: give it to me.
- 13:40Speaker 1: What is the reasoning behind that? Why can you not
- 13:42Speaker 1: see it? But Chuck Krassey cares so people understand the rules.
- 13:47Speaker 4: So let me let me delay that. We will get
- 13:49Speaker 4: to that, but let me delay that for a second.
- 13:52Speaker 4: The House of Representatives heard about the ten twenty three.
- 13:56Speaker 4: They wanted to see the ten twenty three, and so
- 13:59Speaker 4: James Combers, the head of the Oversight Committee, issued a subpoena,
- 14:04Speaker 4: got the votes, he had a majority in the House.
- 14:06Speaker 4: He got issued a subpoena give us the ten twenty three.
- 14:10Speaker 4: The FBI stonewall. They said, no, we won't give you
- 14:12Speaker 4: the ten twenty three. The House was on the verge
- 14:17Speaker 4: of holding Chris Ray, the director of the FBI, in contempt.
- 14:22Speaker 4: Chris Ray blinked and said, okay, we'll give you the
- 14:24Speaker 4: ten twenty three, but we'll show it to you in private.
- 14:27Speaker 4: Initially he just showed it to James Comer and Raskin,
- 14:31Speaker 4: the chairman and ranking member of the Oversight Committee, said
- 14:35Speaker 4: no one else can see it. Comber came out of
- 14:38Speaker 4: that and said the American people need to see this.
- 14:41Speaker 4: Chris Ray blinked again and said, okay, the entire committee
- 14:45Speaker 4: can see this. But what they saw was a redacted copy.
- 14:49Speaker 4: So the FBI, this is not a classified document. But
- 14:52Speaker 4: the FBI took and blacked out portions of the report
- 14:55Speaker 4: and said, you can't see the things we're redacting. One
- 15:00Speaker 4: of the things they redacted was the allegation that there
- 15:04Speaker 4: are seventeen tape recordings. So the House didn't see that. Wow,
- 15:08Speaker 4: now I got to ask you a question, Why the
- 15:11Speaker 4: hell is the FBI hiding the possible existence of evidence,
- 15:19Speaker 4: stone cold evidence of bribery against Joe Biden. Why did
- 15:23Speaker 4: they redact out the allegation that there're seventeen tape recordings.
- 15:29Speaker 4: That is an incredibly good question. And so Grassley was
- 15:33Speaker 4: in a unique situation where he had seen this. He
- 15:36Speaker 4: had a whistleblower. He saw this and he knew what
- 15:40Speaker 4: was in it. And I'll tell you it is not
- 15:41Speaker 4: an accident that Chuck Grassley did this on the Senate floor.
- 15:46Speaker 4: He didn't go on Fox News, he didn't go on
- 15:49Speaker 4: a TV interview. Why because look, he reviewed this ten
- 15:54Speaker 4: twenty three in a restricted circumstance. There may well be
- 15:58Speaker 4: people who argue reason why the FBI is trying to
- 16:01Speaker 4: put all these restrictions on it. It's not classified, mind you,
- 16:04Speaker 4: so all the laws concerning classified information don't apply. But
- 16:08Speaker 4: the FBI is still trying to put restrictions on it
- 16:11Speaker 4: because they don't want anyone to know. And so the
- 16:14Speaker 4: reason I believe Chuck, who's a good friend, I've served
- 16:17Speaker 4: with him eleven years, Chuck went to the Senate floor
- 16:19Speaker 4: as the Constitution gives an immunity from any liability for
- 16:24Speaker 4: anything said in speech and debate for a senator or representative,
- 16:29Speaker 4: and so saying it on the Senate floor, I think
- 16:32Speaker 4: Chuck Grassley did that a for attention, but b for
- 16:35Speaker 4: legal protection, because these guys are so vicious and politicized
- 16:40Speaker 4: that there's a chance they could try to go after
- 16:43Speaker 4: him for daring to repeat the truth.
- 16:46Speaker 1: So saying it in the hall, he could be held
- 16:49Speaker 1: he could get in trouble with this, this rogue doo J.
- 16:52Speaker 1: If he's set in the hall walking.
- 16:53Speaker 4: Potentially DOJ would lose, but there would be potentially more
- 16:58Speaker 4: exposure by doing it in the Senate floor. It is
- 17:01Speaker 4: unquestionably covered in the speech and debate privilege of the Constitution,
- 17:05Speaker 4: which gave him a greater ability to say I know
- 17:09Speaker 4: this to be true. And to be clear, what does
- 17:11Speaker 4: Grassley know? He doesn't know that there are seventeen recordings
- 17:17Speaker 4: there might not be. What he knows is that a
- 17:21Speaker 4: confidential informant who the FBI had relied on previously investigations
- 17:28Speaker 4: made an allegation that there are seventeen recordings fifteen of
- 17:32Speaker 4: Hunter Biden and a corrupt Barisma official, two of Joe
- 17:36Speaker 4: Biden and a corrupt Barisma official, all concerning bribing Joe
- 17:42Speaker 4: Biden personally. And so Chuck Grassley read that in the
- 17:46Speaker 4: FBI Form ten twenty three, and he said it on
- 17:48Speaker 4: the on the Senate floor. And I want to ask you,
- 17:52Speaker 4: look across the country, there are hundreds of thousands, if
- 17:55Speaker 4: not millions, of listeners to this podcast today. I want
- 18:00Speaker 4: you to ask yourself something, did you see on the
- 18:04Speaker 4: news last night Chuck Grassley's allegation that there are tape
- 18:12Speaker 4: recordings of Joe Biden taking a five million dollar bribe?
- 18:16Speaker 4: Did you see it in the newspaper? Was it the
- 18:18Speaker 4: headline today? Think about what city you live, in your
- 18:22Speaker 4: local newspaper, what was the headline on the front page.
- 18:26Speaker 4: Was it tape recordings of evidence that the President Joe
- 18:32Speaker 4: Biden took bribes from Ukrainian corrupt official. Was that the headline?
- 18:38Speaker 4: And you know what, I'm willing to bet every single
- 18:41Speaker 4: listener of Verdict the answer is no, that wasn't your headline.
- 18:45Speaker 4: That wasn't on the news. The press won't cover this.
- 18:50Speaker 4: And I got to say even worse than that, the
- 18:52Speaker 4: FBI is stonewalling and covering the sup.
- 18:56Speaker 1: I wanted you to hear that because it's so important
- 18:59Speaker 1: that you underunderstand how big of a deal this is
- 19:02Speaker 1: and how much the FBI is stonewalling and hiding and
- 19:06Speaker 1: holding this information from the American people. Let me also

- 20:51Speaker 1: you to hear the back and forth here when Mike
- 20:53Speaker 1: Pennce is talking about no one's above the law. Yes,
- 20:57Speaker 1: obviously he's implying that would be Donald tr Trump. They
- 21:00Speaker 1: did this in Des Moines, Iowa. What's your reaction to
- 21:04Speaker 1: news Trump is a target and a federal investigation to
- 21:06Speaker 1: classify documents. Listen carefully.
- 21:08Speaker 7: Well, let me say the handling of classified materials is
- 21:12Speaker 7: a very serious matter, and that was why after the
- 21:16Speaker 7: revelations at the President's residence and the revelations at the
- 21:21Speaker 7: former president's residence, I took it upon myself to review
- 21:27Speaker 7: our files and we uncovered a small number of documents
- 21:33Speaker 7: that have been inadvertently transferred to our residence in Indiana.
- 21:37Speaker 7: I immediately informed the Department of Justice, and I'm grateful
- 21:44Speaker 7: after our full cooperation that they concluded that it was
- 21:46Speaker 7: an innocent mistake.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Do you see his cases different?
- 21:49Speaker 7: But let me say this. Look, I don't know the
- 21:54Speaker 7: facts of the president's case. I don't know the facts
- 21:59Speaker 7: of the former president's case. And but what we've got
- 22:06Speaker 7: to have in this country is equal treatment under the law.
- 22:11Speaker 7: And Dana, you may not know that. I mean, I
- 22:15Speaker 7: was very troubled last summer when when, for the first
- 22:18Speaker 7: time in history, there was a search warrant executed at
- 22:21Speaker 7: the home of a former president of the United States.
- 22:23Speaker 7: Surely you know all the years I served on the
- 22:25Speaker 7: Judiciary Committee, that's when you and I first met. There
- 22:29Speaker 7: had to be dozens of ways I could have been
- 22:30Speaker 7: handled other than that kind of behavior. I mean, when
- 22:34Speaker 7: I informed the Department of Justice that we had classified
- 22:36Speaker 7: materials potentially in our home, they were at my home.
- 22:39Speaker 7: The FBI was on my front doorstep the next day.
- 22:42Speaker 7: What we found out was that when Joe Biden apparently
- 22:44Speaker 7: alerted the Department of Justice eighty days later, they showed
- 22:48Speaker 7: up at his office. That's not equal treatment under the law.
- 22:52Speaker 2: We got it in. But the question is allegation that
- 22:58Speaker 2: investigation into astruction, which you clearly did not do. If
- 23:02Speaker 2: that is something that investigators see as possible, even enough
- 23:08Speaker 2: potentially to indict the former president. Do you think that
- 23:11Speaker 2: that should go forward?
- 23:14Speaker 7: Well, I would hope not, I really would, Dan. I mean,
- 23:22Speaker 7: there's several reasons for that. Number one is I think
- 23:25Speaker 7: it would be terribly divisive to the country. I mean,
- 23:28Speaker 7: at a time when the American people are hurting. I
- 23:31Speaker 7: mean to tell you, families are struggling right now with
- 23:34Speaker 7: record inflation. We have a crisis at our boarder the
- 23:37Speaker 7: likes of which we've never seen. We have a flood
- 23:39Speaker 7: of fentanyl coming into every city large and small in
- 23:42Speaker 7: this country that's killing young people every day. We have
- 23:45Speaker 7: threats abroad, crime wave in our cities. I think now
- 23:50Speaker 7: more than ever, we ought to be fine in ways
- 23:51Speaker 7: we could actually come together. This kind of this kind
- 23:54Speaker 7: of action by the Department of Justice, I think would
- 23:56Speaker 7: only fuel further division in the country. And let me
- 24:00Speaker 7: also say, I think it would also send a terrible
- 24:03Speaker 7: message to the wider world. I mean, we're the emblem
- 24:09Speaker 7: of democracy, we're the symbol of justice in the world.
- 24:11Speaker 7: And the serious matter which has already happened once in
- 24:15Speaker 7: New York, I'm indicting a former president in the United
- 24:19Speaker 7: States says a terrible message to the world. I hope
- 24:22Speaker 7: the DOJ thinks better of it and resolves these issues
- 24:25Speaker 7: without an induicty, Sir, I.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Just want to clarify what you're saying is that if
- 24:28Speaker 2: they believe he committed a crime, they should not go
- 24:32Speaker 2: forward with an indictment. Do you just talk before about
- 24:35Speaker 2: committing to the rule of law.
- 24:37Speaker 7: Let me be clear that no one's above the law, okay,
- 24:41Speaker 7: but with regard to the unique circumstances here, look those
- 24:48Speaker 7: classify I had no business having classified documents in my
- 24:51Speaker 7: residence and I took full responsibility for it. President Biden
- 24:55Speaker 7: had no business having him in his residence from when
- 24:58Speaker 7: he was vice president as well, and the same with
- 25:01Speaker 7: former President Trump. But I would just hope that there
- 25:06Speaker 7: would be a way for them to move forward without
- 25:09Speaker 7: the dramatic and drastic and divisive step of indicting a
- 25:12Speaker 7: former president of the United States. We've got to find
- 25:15Speaker 7: a way to move our country forward and restore confidence
- 25:19Speaker 7: in equal treatment under the law in this country. We
- 25:22Speaker 7: really do, sir.
- 25:24Speaker 2: If Donald Trump, if Donald Trump is convicted of a
- 25:29Speaker 2: crime and you're elected president, would you pardon him?
- 25:33Speaker 7: Well, I don't want to speak about hypotheticals. I'm not
- 25:38Speaker 7: sure I'm going to be elected president of the United States,
- 25:44Speaker 7: but I believe we have a fighting chance. I really
- 25:47Speaker 7: believe we do. And if you are, and I would
- 25:49Speaker 7: hope again, Dan, you're as persistent as ever, see living
- 25:57Speaker 7: up to its reputation. If there are real issues the
- 26:00Speaker 7: American people are facing, and rather than talking about that,
- 26:04Speaker 7: I want to talk about what the people here in
- 26:05Speaker 7: Iowa are talking about, which is the failed policies dividing.
- 26:12Speaker 1: I think he missed a golden opportunity there to say absolutely, hell, yes,
- 26:15Speaker 1: I would. I would pardon him because this is bad
- 26:18Speaker 1: for the country. I think he could have done that
- 26:21Speaker 1: and changed the narrative very quickly. But you saw how
- 26:25Speaker 1: he's breathing heavy and well listen, well it's complicated. Well
- 26:29Speaker 1: I don't want to I don't know all the facts,
- 26:31Speaker 1: and I don't know if you know enough, and you
- 26:35Speaker 1: know enough to know that this is clearly political in nature.
- 26:38Speaker 1: You were around the President of the United States of
- 26:40Speaker 1: America when they were trying to take him out under
- 26:43Speaker 1: two impeachments that you knew were crap, And this is
- 26:47Speaker 1: what you've got. This, this is your response that you have.
- 26:50Speaker 1: It's pretty embarrassing. Now you may disagree, and I want
- 26:54Speaker 1: to get your phone calls fied three five nine seven
- 26:57Speaker 1: three to two. And I understand part of this, I
- 27:02Speaker 1: really do. I understand. Part of the aspect of this
- 27:06Speaker 1: is you're running against him for president, so you don't
- 27:09Speaker 1: want to look like you're backing him. But there's certain
- 27:12Speaker 1: issues that are just for me as simple as right
- 27:14Speaker 1: and wrong. This is that example. This is not a
- 27:18Speaker 1: trick question. This should not be a trick question. Okay,
- 27:22Speaker 1: this is a pretty simple question. It's not a fake question,
- 27:29Speaker 1: it's not a it's not a BS question.
- 27:34Speaker 5: Like.
- 27:34Speaker 1: This is a real question, and it's one that should
- 27:38Speaker 1: be able to be answered by him, especially because he
- 27:41Speaker 1: was there when he was being targeted. He could have
- 27:43Speaker 1: gone there, he could have talked about that, he could
- 27:46Speaker 1: have made it clear. He deliberately chose not to. And
- 27:49Speaker 1: the question has to be this, why why did he
- 27:54Speaker 1: choose not to go there? Because I think he's a
- 27:56Speaker 1: partisan hack now, and I think that's part of the
- 27:59Speaker 1: bigger problem. Five three five nine seven three two. I
- 28:03Speaker 1: also think this is a really bad look for him,
- 28:06Speaker 1: especially when you're kicking off your presidential campaign. That this
- 28:10Speaker 1: is how you answer a question. You know, I'm fine
- 28:14Speaker 1: with you running against Donald Trump, that's your right. But
- 28:19Speaker 1: when you see what people have done, and you see
- 28:22Speaker 1: how people have reacted, and you see what people have said,
- 28:25Speaker 1: and you see what people have advocated for in these
- 28:32Speaker 1: scenarios against your former running mate and former member of
- 28:37Speaker 1: you know, the executive branch, you should do better than this,
- 28:42Speaker 1: like this was a this was a this was a
- 28:44Speaker 1: weak response from Mike Pence
