- 0:01Speaker 1: Democrats are holding Americans hostage, refusing to do what Republicans
- 0:06Speaker 1: did seven times during the Biden administration simply agreed to
- 0:11Speaker 1: a continuing resolution until the broader government plan, the financial
- 0:17Speaker 1: plan could be agreed to. But this time the Democrats
- 0:20Speaker 1: said no. Why they want to hurt Americans and they
- 0:24Speaker 1: want to put illegal immigrants first. We have a lot
- 0:27Speaker 1: to talk about when it comes to what all happened,
- 0:31Speaker 1: and now this all comes down to the Senate because
- 0:34Speaker 1: the overall plan has already made its way.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Out of the House. So what is next.
- 0:39Speaker 1: I want you to hear what Senator Cruz had to say,
- 0:41Speaker 1: because all this revolves around what's happening in the Senate.
- 0:45Speaker 1: The United States government is shut down. The Democrats they
- 0:49Speaker 1: did it on purpose. Apparently it was their plan. And
- 0:52Speaker 1: the question is for how long have they been planning
- 0:54Speaker 1: on doing this sat This is going to be a
- 0:58Speaker 1: very interesting show. This all revolve around the Senate. That
- 1:02Speaker 1: is something that maybe some people don't realize. Everything's come
- 1:06Speaker 1: out of the House. We're now to the Senate side
- 1:08Speaker 1: of things, and I want you to explain what it
- 1:11Speaker 1: was like in the hours leading after this shutdown. Was
- 1:14Speaker 1: there ever a chance in hell, that the government wasn't
- 1:16Speaker 1: going to shut down.
- 1:17Speaker 3: No, that there was never a chance. It is just
- 1:21Speaker 3: after midnight, so the government is shut down just for
- 1:24Speaker 3: a few minutes. But I think the government shutdown is
- 1:28Speaker 3: going to last at a minimum of days. It may
- 1:32Speaker 3: be weeks, and it may even be longer. Really, yes,
- 1:36Speaker 3: this could extend for a significant period of time. And
- 1:40Speaker 3: understand this is the Democrats roar that they hate Donald Trump.
- 1:48Speaker 3: So I got to say. We had the vote tonight.
- 1:51Speaker 3: There was no surprise. Everyone knew the outcome. Out of
- 1:53Speaker 3: one hundred senators, all of us knew the outcome. The
- 1:57Speaker 3: vote was fifty five to forty five. So three Democrat
- 2:01Speaker 3: senators voted to keep the government open.
- 2:05Speaker 1: You have a pretty big deal, right, I mean, did
- 2:08Speaker 1: you think those three were going to go?
- 2:09Speaker 2: Where? Did you think it was going to be a
- 2:11Speaker 2: unanimous vote?
- 2:11Speaker 1: I mean Fetterman and two others like that's that is significant.
- 2:15Speaker 3: Yeah, look Fetterman, I was not surprised. So Fetterman voted
- 2:18Speaker 3: to keep the government open. Courtes Master voter to keep
- 2:21Speaker 3: the government open, and Angus King voted to keep the
- 2:24Speaker 3: government open. That's not shocking to me. It's fifty five
- 2:28Speaker 3: to forty five. Now why did the government shut down? Look,
- 2:31Speaker 3: the basic operation of government is the federal government cannot
- 2:36Speaker 3: continue to operate unless Congress appropriates funds. Under the Constitution,
- 2:41Speaker 3: Congress has the power of the purse, So Congress appropriates
- 2:45Speaker 3: the spending of money. A typical fiscal year is October
- 2:51Speaker 3: first to September thirtieth.
- 2:53Speaker 2: YEP.
- 2:54Speaker 3: This particular funding ended at midnight on September thirtieth. You
- 2:59Speaker 3: and I are recording this just after minutes after midnight
- 3:02Speaker 3: on September thirtieth. The appropriation, the authorization for Congress to
- 3:09Speaker 3: spend money expired minutes ago. Now, there are a couple
- 3:13Speaker 3: of ways you can extend the government funding. One is
- 3:15Speaker 3: an appropriation and so they're typically in a good year,
- 3:19Speaker 3: they're thirteen appropriation bills that fund each different kind of
- 3:23Speaker 3: major segment of government. For a number of years, the
- 3:26Speaker 3: appropriation bills have not passed. The other major way that
- 3:30Speaker 3: government authorization occurs is through what are called crs. CR
- 3:35Speaker 3: is short for continual resolution. A continue resolution is essentially
- 3:40Speaker 3: Congress saying, what we are spending. Now, we can continue
- 3:44Speaker 3: continue the status quo identically for x period of time. Now,
- 3:49Speaker 3: the House of Representatives passed a CR, a clean CR
- 3:53Speaker 3: to fund the federal government through the middle of November.
- 3:56Speaker 3: So if the Senate had passed it.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Oh, let's be clear. When you say a clean that
- 4:01Speaker 1: means no political sananigans in it. It's literally saying, we're
- 4:05Speaker 1: taking the twenty five budget year and we're going to
- 4:09Speaker 1: say the exact same amount we spent in August, we're
- 4:12Speaker 1: gonna spend September, October, November until we get the new budget.
- 4:15Speaker 1: There is no port barrel extras. There's no political cigan
- 4:19Speaker 1: against from either side.
- 4:20Speaker 3: Yes, yes, yes, okay. A clean CR says what we
- 4:25Speaker 3: spent yesterday is what we'll spend tomorrow, that everything just
- 4:29Speaker 3: continues the same, and that's what the House has passed. Now.
- 4:34Speaker 3: The challenge is for anything to pass the Senate that
- 4:37Speaker 3: is in the nature of an appropriations or a CR,
- 4:40Speaker 3: it takes sixty votes because under the filibuster rule, you've
- 4:45Speaker 3: got to have sixty votes to move forward on legislation. So,
- 4:48Speaker 3: as I mentioned, we got fifty five, we got three Democrats,
- 4:51Speaker 3: but we need sixty, which means we need at least
- 4:55Speaker 3: seven Democrats, and actually here we need eight Democrats because
- 4:59Speaker 3: ran all voted no. So we had fifty two Republicans
- 5:02Speaker 3: vote yes, and we needed eight Democrats to vote yes
- 5:06Speaker 3: to fund the government. Well, we only got three, and.
- 5:11Speaker 2: That was on purpose.
- 5:12Speaker 1: And I want to pause just for a second to
- 5:14Speaker 1: go back to the cr historically. Let's just go back
- 5:18Speaker 1: to Biden's time in office when you guys were in
- 5:21Speaker 1: the minority. If I'm not mistaken, you guys did this
- 5:25Speaker 1: more than a dozen times where you came to go.
- 5:27Speaker 2: And say, hey, we machanged a thirteen time.
- 5:30Speaker 1: All right, So thirteen different times y'all came together and
- 5:34Speaker 1: said we're gonna spend exactly what we spent yesterday to
- 5:37Speaker 1: keep the government open so we avoid a government shut down.
- 5:41Speaker 1: And you put the American people ahead of politics. And
- 5:45Speaker 1: that is a bipartisan moment, right, They had to have
- 5:47Speaker 1: some of your votes.
- 5:49Speaker 3: So look, every time we came to the end of
- 5:51Speaker 3: government funding, you would have enough Republicans join with Democrats
- 5:55Speaker 3: to keep the government funded. Now, what has changed, Well,
- 5:59Speaker 3: several months ago we had another expiration of government funding.
- 6:03Speaker 3: And what happened is Chuck Schumer and the Democrats decided, okay,
- 6:06Speaker 3: let's keep the government going. A very reasonable and very
- 6:09Speaker 3: common sense, a very normal decision. The Democratic left wing
- 6:14Speaker 3: base lost their mind and Chuck Schumer nearly lost his
- 6:20Speaker 3: job because Schumer allowed the government to be funded several
- 6:24Speaker 3: months ago. The left wing rose up against him. And
- 6:28Speaker 3: you want to understand why we have a shutdown. It's
- 6:31Speaker 3: one thing. Schumer is looking over his left shoulder and
- 6:35Speaker 3: he sees AOC running up behind him, and he is
- 6:39Speaker 3: terrified he's going to lose his job. So listen, Schumer
- 6:43Speaker 3: knows this is not going to work. He knows this
- 6:46Speaker 3: is failures.
- 6:47Speaker 1: See just pure cover your als politics one oh one
- 6:51Speaker 1: by Schumer.
- 6:52Speaker 3: So the radical left wing, they hate Trump and they
- 6:56Speaker 3: want today to be a giant f u to Trump.
- 7:00Speaker 3: They want it to be we hate President Trump, and
- 7:04Speaker 3: we hate President Trump so much we're gonna shut the
- 7:07Speaker 3: entire government down because arar. That's what we're watching now.
- 7:12Speaker 1: By the way, So then hold on, when did this
- 7:15Speaker 1: become the plan? Was this weeks ago? Months ago? Was
- 7:18Speaker 1: this when they had the last year? As I got
- 7:20Speaker 1: the next time it comes up, I have no choice.
- 7:22Speaker 1: I got to shut down the government to flex my
- 7:24Speaker 1: muscles and also to there is a real concern by
- 7:27Speaker 1: him that AOC is going to run against him primary
- 7:30Speaker 1: him in the Senate, by the way, that is after
- 7:33Speaker 1: the next president's election cycle?
- 7:34Speaker 4: Was that?
- 7:35Speaker 1: And that isn't he up two years after? If I'm
- 7:37Speaker 1: not mistaken, so be a gout five plus years from now.
- 7:39Speaker 3: So, and to be clear, I predicted on this podcast
- 7:43Speaker 3: the inaugural member the chairman of the AOC for President
- 7:47Speaker 3: campaign is Chuck Schumer because he is desperate for AOC
- 7:51Speaker 3: not to primary him. Yeah, he's gonna say, Alexandra, you
- 7:55Speaker 3: are such a big deal, you were so important. Really,
- 7:58Speaker 3: the Senate's too small for you. Why do you want
- 8:01Speaker 3: to bother being in the Senate? Sue should be in
- 8:03Speaker 3: the White House. Schumer is going to be all in
- 8:05Speaker 3: on that, but he is living with absolute PTSD. He
- 8:11Speaker 3: is traumatized. He sees left wing antifa crazies coming around
- 8:18Speaker 3: on every side, and so from his end, this shutdown
- 8:22Speaker 3: is necessary politically. Now, what did the Democrats demand? They
- 8:26Speaker 3: demanded a lot of things, you know what the number
- 8:28Speaker 3: one demand was.
- 8:29Speaker 2: What's that?
- 8:31Speaker 3: Free healthcare for illegals all over the country.
- 8:35Speaker 1: By the way, I mean, when you think about that
- 8:37Speaker 1: and the polling data and what it says, I don't
- 8:41Speaker 1: understand why that would make your number one thing, Because
- 8:43Speaker 1: it's clear that the people are behind President Trump. Securing
- 8:46Speaker 1: our borders, stopping government waste, front of use doges was
- 8:49Speaker 1: a big part of it. And also making sure that
- 8:51Speaker 1: we're not giving out benefits to illegal immigrants. Right, no, no, no,
- 8:54Speaker 1: we want to spend one point five trillion if you
- 8:56Speaker 1: want our votes, and it has to be for health
- 8:59Speaker 1: care for illegal immigrants and food stamps for people that
- 9:01Speaker 1: are able bodied, for example, that refuse to work. That's
- 9:05Speaker 1: another thing, and they're like, no, no, no, we buy glly.
- 9:07Speaker 1: You better get minded people that are just straight up lazy,
- 9:10Speaker 1: that aren't that have the ability to work, but you
- 9:13Speaker 1: got to pay them to stay home.
- 9:15Speaker 3: Yeah. A huge pump chunk of this is getting rid
- 9:17Speaker 3: of the work requirement for government benefits. Democrats don't want
- 9:21Speaker 3: anyone to have to work. They wanted them to be
- 9:23Speaker 3: able to sit at home and get government checks. But
- 9:25Speaker 3: did you see the AI video of the White House
- 9:28Speaker 3: put out?
- 9:29Speaker 1: Which one they put out a couple different things. Which
- 9:32Speaker 1: one are you talking about?
- 9:33Speaker 3: I want you? I want I want to play this
- 9:35Speaker 3: for everyone. This is fake So so all the nattering
- 9:40Speaker 3: nabobs this is fake news. But it is absolutely hysterical
- 9:44Speaker 3: that the White House put out. This is Chuck Schumer
- 9:47Speaker 3: and a Keem Jeffery is explaining what this shutdown is
- 9:49Speaker 3: all about.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Take a listen to this.
- 9:52Speaker 5: Look, guys, there's no way to sugarcoat it. Nobody likes
- 9:56Speaker 5: Democrats anymore. We have no voters left because of all
- 9:59Speaker 5: of our woke trans Not even black people want to
- 10:01Speaker 5: vote for us anymore. Even Latinos hate us. So we
- 10:05Speaker 5: need new voters. And if we give all these illegal
- 10:09Speaker 5: aliens free healthcare, we might be able to get them
- 10:12Speaker 5: on our side so they can vote for us. They
- 10:14Speaker 5: can't even speak English, so they won't realize we're just
- 10:18Speaker 5: a bunch of woke pieces of shit, you know, at
- 10:21Speaker 5: least for a while until they learn English and they
- 10:23Speaker 5: realize they hate us too.
- 10:25Speaker 1: See, this is when I love AI. This is when
- 10:28Speaker 1: I absolutely love the spoof from the President. And if
- 10:31Speaker 1: you can't see this, you need to go look at it.
- 10:33Speaker 2: We put up on.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Social media, the videos and Importphreeze has got a really nice
- 10:37Speaker 1: Hannibar mustache and a sombrero on.
- 10:40Speaker 3: So look, pause for a second and realize that was
- 10:45Speaker 3: released by the White House. That was released by the
- 10:49Speaker 3: President of the United States. I feel a little guilty
- 10:52Speaker 3: because we've got some cursewords in there. We try to
- 10:55Speaker 3: avoid cursewords on this podcast. But what do you do
- 10:59Speaker 3: when the president has put that out? You put it?
- 11:03Speaker 3: And I gotta say, the video sits today at lunch.
- 11:07Speaker 3: So every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, all the Republican senators
- 11:11Speaker 3: have lunch together. Yeah, today at lunch, John Thune met
- 11:15Speaker 3: with the President, met with Schumer, met with the King
- 11:17Speaker 3: Jeffries at the White House. And so Thune was giving
- 11:21Speaker 3: us a download on that. And you know, Thune was
- 11:24Speaker 3: talking about, Okay, the Democrats they don't want to cut
- 11:26Speaker 3: a deal. They're not willing to give it on anything.
- 11:28Speaker 3: And I will confess. I raised my hand. I question.
- 11:32Speaker 3: I said, John was a King Jeffries wearing the sombrero.
- 11:39Speaker 2: And what did he say?
- 11:40Speaker 3: He just laughed. But look and everyone cracked up. But
- 11:44Speaker 3: that image. Listen, the Democrats have literally shut down the
- 11:49Speaker 3: federal government because they want free health care for every
- 11:53Speaker 3: illegal alien in America. Yeah, you want to talk about,
- 11:57Speaker 3: like on every issue that's eighty twenty or even n
- 12:01Speaker 3: they're on the twenty or the ten side. The American
- 12:04Speaker 3: people do not support. If you want to have a
- 12:07Speaker 3: referendum in this country, should we give illegals free health care? Wow?
- 12:11Speaker 3: That will be overwhelming. But here's the secret. This shutdown
- 12:17Speaker 3: is not actually about free health care for illegals' that's
- 12:20Speaker 3: what the Democrats have hung their hat on because they
- 12:22Speaker 3: got to say they want.
- 12:23Speaker 2: So they gotta say something, right.
- 12:26Speaker 3: This is all about just we hate Donald Trump and
- 12:31Speaker 3: it is Chuck Schumer job preservation. And that also means
- 12:37Speaker 3: the end of this. Okay, there's no universe in which
- 12:40Speaker 3: Chuck Schumer will get President Trump to agree to let's
- 12:45Speaker 3: give free health care to illegals.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Yeah, not gonna happen. They know that.
- 12:48Speaker 3: Yeah, they're entering. There's no universe in which Republicans in
- 12:51Speaker 3: Congress are going to say, hey, that's a great idea,
- 12:53Speaker 3: let's give free health care to every illegal. Like that's
- 12:57Speaker 3: you might as well ask for Area fifty one, like
- 13:00Speaker 3: to release the Martians and let them take over the country. Yeah,
- 13:04Speaker 3: that is as likely to happen as free health care
- 13:06Speaker 3: for illegals from Republicans. The Democrats know that this is
- 13:11Speaker 3: not about getting what they're demanding. This is about how
- 13:15Speaker 3: long do they want to demonstrate Orange Man bad?
- 13:20Speaker 1: Yeah, and so do you actually believe. And let's go
- 13:25Speaker 1: back to the history of the Senate here. I don't
- 13:29Speaker 1: believe that Chuck Schumer actually wanted to shut down the government.
- 13:32Speaker 2: No, No, I think he was forced to do it.
- 13:35Speaker 3: Yeah, he would lose his job. He would lose his
- 13:38Speaker 3: job if the government.
- 13:41Speaker 2: It was help preservation.
- 13:42Speaker 3: Yes.
- 13:43Speaker 2: In other words, this is weird.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Chuck Schumer is being held hostage by the Marxist communists
- 13:47Speaker 1: and socialists in his party, which they did not police
- 13:50Speaker 1: and they allowed to take over their party. Then he's
- 13:53Speaker 1: now holding the American people hostage with a government shut down,
- 13:57Speaker 1: which brings me the big question. Even when we've had
- 14:01Speaker 1: shutdowns in the past, there has been some agreement center like, hey,
- 14:05Speaker 1: certain people should deserve to get paid, those that are
- 14:08Speaker 1: in the military, those badges, like the list is not
- 14:11Speaker 1: that long, but the essential important people that deserve to
- 14:15Speaker 1: get a paycheck. We don't screw with them when they're
- 14:17Speaker 1: protecting to fing this country, can you guys, at least
- 14:20Speaker 1: was there an agreement to pay them?
- 14:23Speaker 2: Really?
- 14:23Speaker 1: Okay, so walk us through that, because I'm assuming that
- 14:26Speaker 1: came up at lunch.
- 14:27Speaker 3: So one of the things I did today is I
- 14:30Speaker 3: sent a letter because under the Constitution members of Congress.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Our pay cannot be stopped. It's actually unconstitutional to reduce
- 14:39Speaker 3: the compensation for members of Congress during the term we're
- 14:42Speaker 3: elected to. So I sent a letter and I've done
- 14:45Speaker 3: this during every shutdown, saying while the government is shut down,
- 14:49Speaker 3: don't pay me. It's not fair. It's not right for
- 14:54Speaker 3: an elected member of Congress to receive a paycheck when
- 14:57Speaker 3: federal workers are not. Now, to be clear, I don't
- 15:00Speaker 3: lose my pay when the shutdown is over. I'll get
- 15:03Speaker 3: its just deferred, but it's deferred.
- 15:06Speaker 2: But a lot of people don't understand that.
- 15:08Speaker 1: The long which if I think just asinine and I
- 15:12Speaker 1: have family members work in the federal government, and they're like,
- 15:15Speaker 1: the dumb part about this that I think a lot
- 15:17Speaker 1: of Americans don't understand, yep, is that you don't miss
- 15:21Speaker 1: a paycheck in your calendar year. You just miss a
- 15:25Speaker 1: month and then you get it back data, you get
- 15:27Speaker 1: it back the next time whenever the government does open
- 15:30Speaker 1: back up. And so I know people that are in
- 15:33Speaker 1: the FA for example, and they're like, dude, we just
- 15:35Speaker 1: plan our vacations like great trips around shutdowns because we
- 15:38Speaker 1: know we're still getting paid.
- 15:39Speaker 2: We save not everybody can do that.
- 15:42Speaker 1: But like they've almost pre planned for this bonus vacation
- 15:45Speaker 1: and they're going to get paid back.
- 15:47Speaker 3: Yeah, but let me make several points of clarification. Sure
- 15:50Speaker 3: number one, government shutdown is a misnomer. More than eighty
- 15:55Speaker 3: percent of the government will continue to operate. So the
- 15:58Speaker 3: basic principle is everything that is essential keeps going. So
- 16:03Speaker 3: the military, our activity and military like defending the nation
- 16:08Speaker 3: against bad guys, that keeps going. The FBI catching criminals,
- 16:12Speaker 3: that keeps going, the border patrol and ice that keeps going.
- 16:17Speaker 3: The FAA air traffic controllers. Tomorrow, if you get on
- 16:20Speaker 3: an airplane, the air traffic controllers all go to work.
- 16:24Speaker 3: By the way, the air traffic controllers are not getting
- 16:28Speaker 3: a paycheck, so they're going to work. But every two
- 16:32Speaker 3: weeks federal government employees get paid. Air traffic controllers, coast guardsmen, military,
- 16:37Speaker 3: the federal government nobody gets a paycheck. And so what
- 16:42Speaker 3: shuts down. Every cabinet secretary was assigned designate among your
- 16:48Speaker 3: employees who is essential and who is not essential. I
- 16:51Speaker 3: remember when Bill Clinton was president, we had to shut down. Then,
- 16:54Speaker 3: remember Nude Gingrich and the Republican Congress were fighting with
- 16:57Speaker 3: Bill Clinton, we had to shut down for a number
- 16:59Speaker 3: of weeks, and I remember there was a headline that
- 17:01Speaker 3: said the Department of Commerce designated thirty percent of their
- 17:06Speaker 3: employees is essential and seventy percent is non essential. I
- 17:10Speaker 3: remember thinking, that's great, we just set a new benchline
- 17:14Speaker 3: all those non essential. That's seventy percent they ought to
- 17:17Speaker 3: be done. But what that means, so what will be
- 17:22Speaker 3: shut down? Starting October one? National parks will be shut down.
- 17:27Speaker 3: So I gotta say, if you were planning to take
- 17:29Speaker 3: your family to Yosemite this weekend, yeah, I'm I'm sorry
- 17:33Speaker 3: to say you're out of luck. Yosemite will be closed.
- 17:36Speaker 3: If you were coming to d C to tour our
- 17:38Speaker 3: nation's capital, you wanted to go to the Smithsonian, go
- 17:40Speaker 3: to the Air and Space Museum, it's the Smithsonian will
- 17:44Speaker 3: be shut down. If you look at things like the
- 17:47Speaker 3: National Institute of Health, like research on cancer, much of
- 17:51Speaker 3: that will be shut down.
- 17:53Speaker 2: All across that non essential.
- 17:55Speaker 1: When people were gonna say that seems insane, Why wouldn't
- 17:58Speaker 1: we fix that to make sure when we have these
- 18:00Speaker 1: Shenanigan's happened that that's not affected.
- 18:04Speaker 3: And I think this shutdown will extend. I think it'll
- 18:08Speaker 3: be weeks. I think it will be Schumer is trying
- 18:12Speaker 3: to protect his own rear end and everything else is
- 18:16Speaker 3: secondary to protecting his own political life, So I think
- 18:18Speaker 3: we will see an extended shutdown.
- 18:21Speaker 2: So is this polling then?
- 18:22Speaker 1: I mean, how do you decide when you won or
- 18:25Speaker 1: you lost if you're Schumer, Because this is not about
- 18:28Speaker 1: the country hating Schumer. This is only about New York.
- 18:32Speaker 1: I'm protecting a seat from AOC. So in essence, you
- 18:35Speaker 1: don't care how many people hate you in the country.
- 18:38Speaker 1: It's only a New York thing, is that. I mean, well,
- 18:40Speaker 1: they do polling. I mean this is weird.
- 18:43Speaker 3: Yeah. Look, so this is being called the Schumer shutdown. Yeah,
- 18:47Speaker 3: and I got to say, the Democrats are losing the
- 18:51Speaker 3: messaging battle. It is clear this is a Democrat shutdown.
- 18:54Speaker 3: There was actually exchange right before we had the vote
- 18:57Speaker 3: on the CR to keep the government open, and this
- 18:59Speaker 3: is a clean CR. No riders know nothing. This is
- 19:02Speaker 3: just keep every keep the lights.
- 19:03Speaker 2: On, status quo.
- 19:05Speaker 3: Schumer stood up and was speaking, and all the Senators
- 19:09Speaker 3: or most of us were standing on the Senate floor,
- 19:11Speaker 3: and Schumer said, look, there's been reference to polling, but
- 19:16Speaker 3: the polling has been biased. It's been right wing polling,
- 19:20Speaker 3: for example, the New York Times. And I got to
- 19:25Speaker 3: tell you, I and every other Republican we just started
- 19:27Speaker 3: cracking up, laughing, and you could see Schumer he actually
- 19:31Speaker 3: turned red, he looked sheepish because he just said on
- 19:34Speaker 3: the Senate floor that the New York Times was a
- 19:38Speaker 3: biased right wing poll.
- 19:41Speaker 2: Yeah, seriously.
- 19:43Speaker 3: And it was a moment where where like Schumer, you
- 19:45Speaker 3: saw Democrats looking at him going, dude, you look like
- 19:50Speaker 3: that's weak. And that's because the New York Times did
- 19:53Speaker 3: a poll if the Democrats don't get everything they want,
- 19:56Speaker 3: should they shut the government down? And sixty five percent
- 19:59Speaker 3: of America and said no, don't shut the government down.
- 20:02Speaker 3: It was a small percentage. It was just over twenty
- 20:05Speaker 3: percent of Americans that said yes, shut the government down.
- 20:09Speaker 3: So that's who the Democrats are responding to. But they've
- 20:11Speaker 3: got Schumer's message is the New York Times is a
- 20:16Speaker 3: right wing mouthpiece, and how dare you tell the American
- 20:19Speaker 3: people that we the Democrats, are shutting the government down.
- 20:24Speaker 3: This is headed to failure. Everyone knows that, every Republican
- 20:27Speaker 3: knows that every Democrat knows that is there an outcome
- 20:31Speaker 3: where Republicans say, okay, great, let's fund healthcare free illegals. No,
- 20:36Speaker 3: the Democrats will give in. Three Democrats voted to fund
- 20:40Speaker 3: the government. What will happen is the government is shut down.
- 20:43Speaker 3: People are gonna get ticked off, people are gonna want
- 20:47Speaker 3: to like use by the way, things like passport services
- 20:51Speaker 3: will be greatly reduced. All sorts of government. Now now listen,
- 20:54Speaker 3: the military keeps going, law enforcement keep going, Social Security
- 20:58Speaker 3: keeps going, Medicare keeps going, Medicaid keeps going. An awful
- 21:01Speaker 3: lot of government keeps going. But the lack of government
- 21:05Speaker 3: being open will be a serious function. And at some
- 21:08Speaker 3: point we will see seven or eight Democrats say enough
- 21:12Speaker 3: is enough, reopen the government. That will happen. But let
- 21:15Speaker 3: me tell you a huge piece that is an X
- 21:19Speaker 3: factor in this, which is Russ Vote, who is the
- 21:23Speaker 3: head of OMB, the Office of Management and Budget works
- 21:26Speaker 3: for the White House. He put out a memo a
- 21:28Speaker 3: week ago that said, if there is a government shutdown,
- 21:34Speaker 3: we are going to lay off federal workers. We're not
- 21:36Speaker 3: going to give them a furlough.
- 21:40Speaker 1: This is the brilliant game of chess that was early
- 21:44Speaker 1: on preemptive yep, warning you do this, and here's what
- 21:49Speaker 1: we were going to do. And this might be one
- 21:52Speaker 1: of the best moves I've seen politically in a long
- 21:54Speaker 1: time in DC, which is go ahead, do it and
- 21:57Speaker 1: watch what happens, because as a lot of people that are
- 21:59Speaker 1: gonna get lose their job, and that's going to be
- 22:01Speaker 1: on you guys for allowing it to happen.
- 22:03Speaker 2: Right, So explain all that.
- 22:05Speaker 3: Yes, So Russ is a good friend, he's a strong conservative,
- 22:08Speaker 3: he's a strong fiscal conservative. And what he said is, listen,
- 22:11Speaker 3: if Congress decides not to fund the federal government, we're
- 22:16Speaker 3: going to react to that. By the White House has
- 22:20Speaker 3: instructed every cabinet agency to prepare a plan for a
- 22:24Speaker 3: riff a reduction in force to give permanent layoffs pink
- 22:28Speaker 3: slips to government bureaucrats who are left wing bureaucrats who
- 22:32Speaker 3: are advancing the priorities of the Democrat Party. So what
- 22:37Speaker 3: you are going to see in the next few days,
- 22:40Speaker 3: you are going to see bureaucrats at the EPA fired.
- 22:44Speaker 3: You're going to see bureaucrats at the Department of Labor fired.
- 22:49Speaker 3: You're going to see bureaucrats at the RS fired. And
- 22:54Speaker 3: within a couple of days, we're going to see Democrat senators.
- 22:57Speaker 3: They're going to be in their lunches screaming at each
- 23:00Speaker 3: other because this is frankly an excuse for the Trump
- 23:04Speaker 3: administration to do what they wanted to do anyway, which
- 23:06Speaker 3: is get rid of left wing bureaucrats. But they now
- 23:10Speaker 3: have an incredible justification, which is, hey, Congress chose not
- 23:14Speaker 3: to fund them, so instead of giving them a paid vacation,
- 23:19Speaker 3: stay home several weeks and then we'll pay you back
- 23:21Speaker 3: pay and come back to your job. They're gonna even
- 23:24Speaker 3: pick slip and say you're done, you no longer have
- 23:27Speaker 3: a job. And I think that is going to ratchet
- 23:30Speaker 3: up the pressure on Democrats massively.
- 23:33Speaker 1: So how quickly can these firings take place? How massive
- 23:37Speaker 1: could they be today? And how much research has been
- 23:41Speaker 1: done behind the scenes to get rid of a lot
- 23:43Speaker 1: of these woke bureaucrats that we that we've been wanting
- 23:47Speaker 1: to get rid of, that the presidents wanting to get of,
- 23:49Speaker 1: the cabinet secretaries of wanting to get rid of like
- 23:51Speaker 1: how I mean, I'm assuming they're burning the midnight oil
- 23:54Speaker 1: kind of like doage did. Let's find the people we
- 23:57Speaker 1: want to get rid of and this is our chance
- 23:58Speaker 1: to do it, and we and by once it's done,
- 24:01Speaker 1: like it's not like he got one from their jobs back,
- 24:03Speaker 1: like it's done.
- 24:04Speaker 3: So I think that starts happening today. I think October one,
- 24:09Speaker 3: you start seeing pink slips. I think we will see
- 24:13Speaker 3: left wing bureaucrats fired today. I think we'll see them
- 24:17Speaker 3: fired tomorrow. You know. This evening, I had dinner with
- 24:21Speaker 3: the Deputy Secretary of HHS who's a longtime friend of mine.
- 24:25Speaker 3: He was actually a groomsm in my wedding. Great guy,
- 24:28Speaker 3: I asked him. I said, okay, the White House asked
- 24:31Speaker 3: every cabinet agency preparing list of people for the riff
- 24:36Speaker 3: and he said, yeah, we're doing that. He said, every agency,
- 24:38Speaker 3: when the White House directs us to do that, we
- 24:40Speaker 3: do that. We're going to see I think hundreds, if
- 24:43Speaker 3: not thousands, of left wing bureaucrats fired in the next
- 24:47Speaker 3: several days. I think that's going to put the Democrat
- 24:50Speaker 3: Party in crisis. And by the way, we're not going
- 24:52Speaker 3: to fire people that are critical for the priorities you
- 24:57Speaker 3: and care you and I care about. So we're not
- 24:59Speaker 3: going to see order patrol agents who are securing the
- 25:01Speaker 3: border fired We're not going to see ICE agents who
- 25:04Speaker 3: are deporting gang bangers fired. We're not going to see
- 25:08Speaker 3: FBI agents who are catching pedophiles, We're not going to
- 25:11Speaker 3: see them fired. We're not going to see soldiers and
- 25:14Speaker 3: sailors and airmen and marines who are keeping this nation safe,
- 25:17Speaker 3: We're not going to see them fired. We're going to
- 25:20Speaker 3: see bureaucrats who are shutting down factories, who are destroying jobs,
- 25:26Speaker 3: who are pursuing radical left wing agendas. They're going to
- 25:31Speaker 3: be the ones fired, and ultimately the Democrats are going
- 25:34Speaker 3: to cave. The only question is how long Schumer wants
- 25:38Speaker 3: to go through this charade before he gives.
- 25:41Speaker 1: In, which brings me my final question, that is the
- 25:44Speaker 1: media does seem to be covering this a little bit
- 25:47Speaker 1: more with honesty than I've ever seen them before. Today
- 25:51Speaker 1: there was a viral clip that is, the tables have
- 25:54Speaker 1: been turned. Democrats are now literally under fire for a
- 25:58Speaker 1: clip that shows them slamming government shut down tactics, the
- 26:01Speaker 1: same ones they're accused of using right now. And here's
- 26:04Speaker 1: what it sounded like back in twenty eighteen. In December
- 26:06Speaker 1: of twenty eighteen, Donald Trumps President Chuck Schimer Nain's peosi
- 26:10Speaker 1: in the Oval office.
- 26:11Speaker 5: Listen, we do not want to shut down the government
- 26:14Speaker 5: because you can't shut down.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Can me say something, mister President North Dakota and.
- 26:19Speaker 4: The most Unfortunately, we came in here in good faith
- 26:23Speaker 4: and we're entering into this kind of a discussion in
- 26:27Speaker 4: the public.
- 26:31Speaker 2: Transparency.
- 26:32Speaker 4: I know, it's high transparency when we're not stipulating to
- 26:34Speaker 4: a set of facts.
- 26:36Speaker 1: I mean, you listen to that one. They're like, we're
- 26:38Speaker 1: not in favor of it. And then the speaker also
- 26:41Speaker 1: put out a very interesting yes video montage reminding people
- 26:47Speaker 1: the same thing, like, Hey, you guys think that it's
- 26:50Speaker 1: the Democrats. Mike Johnson putting this out and here he
- 26:53Speaker 1: is and what he said to remind the people about
- 26:55Speaker 1: Democrats in their own words, it is not.
- 27:01Speaker 3: Normal to shut down the government when we don't get
- 27:03Speaker 3: what we want.
- 27:04Speaker 5: If the government shuts down, it will be average Americans
- 27:07Speaker 5: who suffer most. A government shutdown means seniors who rely
- 27:11Speaker 5: on Social Security could be thrown into chaos. Families will
- 27:15Speaker 5: be hurt, Farmers will be hurt.
- 27:18Speaker 4: It's the service members who will work without a pay
- 27:21Speaker 4: check any It's the firefighters who will be furlough.
- 27:25Speaker 2: This shut down, you know who's going to feel the pain.
- 27:27Speaker 3: You know who it hurts you, everyday people and the
- 27:31Speaker 3: most vulnerable seniors, veterans, working families, hungary kids.
- 27:35Speaker 4: Y'all.
- 27:40Speaker 2: Democrats are signaling that they're ready for a fight this time.
- 27:44Speaker 5: Schumer tells me associated press, Well, things have changed. It
- 27:47Speaker 5: is not normal to shut down the government when we
- 27:50Speaker 5: don't get what we want.
- 27:52Speaker 1: I mean, I love them using AOC's words. I feel
- 27:56Speaker 1: like the media has changed a little bit. Here your
- 27:58Speaker 1: thoughts on.
- 27:58Speaker 3: That, well, I'm impressed that you recognize AOC's voice. I
- 28:03Speaker 3: didn't know. I knew that was a shrill Democrat. I
- 28:05Speaker 3: didn't know who that was. So I appreciate that clarity. Listen,
- 28:10Speaker 3: every single Democrat, I think, without exception, has gone on
- 28:14Speaker 3: record being against shutdowns. The fact that they shut it
- 28:18Speaker 3: all down today demonstrates what utter hypocrites they are. And
- 28:22Speaker 3: I got to say as I was walking off the
- 28:23Speaker 3: Senate floor, so I voted to fund the government this afternoon.
- 28:28Speaker 3: The Democrats voted against it and caused a shut down.
- 28:32Speaker 3: All the reporters were circling, and their talking point that
- 28:35Speaker 3: they really wanted to press is they said Okay, Cruise.
- 28:40Speaker 3: In twenty thirteen, in the fight over Obamacare, you Ted
- 28:45Speaker 3: Cruz forced to shut down. Isn't that what the Democrats
- 28:48Speaker 3: are doing now? And I just started laughing at them,
- 28:51Speaker 3: and I said, look, number one. In twenty thirteen, when
- 28:55Speaker 3: I did a twenty one hour filibuster on the floor,
- 28:59Speaker 3: I was fighting for Americans. I was fighting for American
- 29:02Speaker 3: citizens whose healthcare premiums had skyrocketed. And they had skyrocketed
- 29:07Speaker 3: because Obamacare was a train wreck. It was a disaster.
- 29:10Speaker 3: It caused a massive increase in health insurance premiums. It
- 29:14Speaker 3: made the health insurance companies rich, and it made millions
- 29:19Speaker 3: of ordinary Americans unable to afford health insurance. And by
- 29:23Speaker 3: the way, I was also fighting for it at a
- 29:25Speaker 3: time when the House of Representatives that was Republican had
- 29:29Speaker 3: voted to fund the federal government, fund the entirety of
- 29:33Speaker 3: the federal government, but not fund Obamacare, so not fund
- 29:37Speaker 3: the law that was causing damage to American citizens. And
- 29:41Speaker 3: I said, here, what's happening is Chuck Schumer is shutting
- 29:45Speaker 3: down the federal government not to help American citizens who
- 29:48Speaker 3: were getting hurt, but he's shutting down the federal government
- 29:51Speaker 3: in order to help millions of illegal aliens and give
- 29:54Speaker 3: them free health care. And he's willing to shut down
- 29:58Speaker 3: your federal government to give free health care to illegals,
- 30:03Speaker 3: and that fundamentally there's a hypocrisy to it. And I
- 30:06Speaker 3: also said, you know, the reporters were like, isn't it
- 30:10Speaker 3: the same? And I said, listen, let me be clear.
- 30:13Speaker 3: In twenty thirteen, it was Chuck Schumer who shut the
- 30:17Speaker 3: government down. Then I was trying to fund the entirety
- 30:20Speaker 3: of the federal government except for Obamacare, and Chuck Schumer
- 30:23Speaker 3: and Harry Reid decided, no, we'll shut it all down
- 30:26Speaker 3: because we care so much about socialized medicine. And I
- 30:30Speaker 3: told the reporters we had like fifty reporters standing outside
- 30:32Speaker 3: the Senate Florida. I said, look, none of you guys
- 30:35Speaker 3: reported that. You all blamed the shutdown on me because
- 30:38Speaker 3: you're all left wing hacks. Today, all of you are
- 30:43Speaker 3: still left wing hacks. You agree with the Democrats, But
- 30:46Speaker 3: the facts are so overwhelming. It is Chuck Schumer and
- 30:50Speaker 3: the Democrats who are shutting the government down that even
- 30:53Speaker 3: you dishonest liars are reporting. This is the Schumer shutdown
- 30:57Speaker 3: because the House has funded the government exactly the status quo.
- 31:03Speaker 3: The funding yesterday has continued to tomorrow. It is the
- 31:07Speaker 3: Democrats who said let's shut it down, and I think
- 31:11Speaker 3: at the end of the day they're going to lose
- 31:12Speaker 3: that battle. But this is what you got to ask
- 31:16Speaker 3: yourself is how long do the Democrats have to perform
- 31:19Speaker 3: for their crazy left wing activists before they allow the
- 31:24Speaker 3: government to reopen.
- 31:25Speaker 1: Don't forget share this podcast please with your family and
- 31:28Speaker 1: your friends wherever they are, and I will see you
- 31:31Speaker 1: back here tomorrow.
