- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: He's here with us now without further ado our friend Mike Northy joins us now here on the show.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god, that was fabulous.
- 0:09[SPEAKER_02]: I wanted to give Vander a little time, I'm a giving man, you know, and it's good to see him without a hat.
- 0:14[SPEAKER_02]: I was hearing you was bald.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_02]: I never, you know, I didn't know it, but it's great.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_02]: I did not know my hair.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_02]: I'm with the early liberate she looked at her and she got on it.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_00]: Mike, I probably made the kid lose more hair than he probably needs to.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, he's a terrific guy.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_00]: He's a big Z's a good guy here.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_00]: All right, and that was beautiful.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_02]: God bless.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_02]: All right, let's go back and nobody wants to work for the Eagles, and I turned them down and see, cheerleader Masus, I just turned them down.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_02]: I don't even want to do that, and who wouldn't want to do that.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_02]: That's just me, you know.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_02]: But, nobody wants to work for the Philadelphia Eagles.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: So, I hired the best coach.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't really fire him.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: He walked out because they pushed him out.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_00]: Jeff Stoutlin, come on, I'm understanding his phone is blowing up even with guys who have a job.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_00]: Organizations, I mean, like if you hire Jeff Stoutlin in Chicago.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: He'd be the greatest offensive line coach.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: They've had up there like ever.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the job that he would do with that Chicago offensive line.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_02]: We had a terrific guy in the 80s and 90s.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_02]: Did get his good buddy.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_02]: But there were some, some bombs on deck staff too, including your offensive coordinator at Hughes.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, I mean, we had a guy at Hughes.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_02]: He looked like a professor, you know, and he was calling the place and that's what I love about.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_02]: the fact that, you know, you guys are going to hopefully get, I don't want you to see, I don't want to see your style change too much.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_02]: I still think Barkley had a big let down year that caused a lot of these problems.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_02]: AJ rounds under contract.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't have them back.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_02]: I'd work out a trade.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_02]: I think he could find another receiver, defiant they Smith is terrific.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, that's what I would do, but you know, at your team, you guys have been very fortunate.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_02]: I know it was tough this year.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_02]: I thought you should.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_02]: I stuck with you all year long.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_02]: I was very surprised when you did lose.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_02]: I love jail and hurts.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's terrific.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_02]: And when AJ Brown.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_02]: wanted to ball-morty through three games in a row and lost them all.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_02]: And this is just me looking from a distance with a great franchise.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_02]: And I, well, Sunny Jorgensen died today.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_00]: I was just going to ask you, give me your takeaways on that because, you know, Sunny played the majority of his career.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously in Washington, but, you know, he was on that 60 team with Norm Van Boclin that won that 60 title against Green Bay.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: Just your takeaway with him.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I mean, I get them in football cards, I'd be thrilled.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_02]: We had football cards, we were kids, they were nickel.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_02]: You know, on 1960, 1961, I get norms need, no plum.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_02]: You know, guys like that, Johnny, when you got a Johnny Unitis, you were euphoric or any of the pack or like Jimmy Taylor and Ray Nichke and any bear, I mean, you know, as I got older,
- 3:20[SPEAKER_02]: You know, you get guys like Buckess and they're rookie years.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_02]: You stopped.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_02]: I stopped collecting about 12, 11, 12, 13 years old, you know.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't for me.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: I collected them into my 20s.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: I love baseball.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: I got a ton of baseball and I got a ton of baseball and I got a couple of awards.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't me growing up, it was, you know, you've played with your baseball cards till you're 11, 12, 13, make your trades and stuff.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_02]: You know, when you got Mickey Man or Ernie Banks, you were like, Nelly Fox, I go way back there.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_02]: So it was great.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_02]: And Sunny Jurgenson, I remember him with the Eagles.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_02]: I remember the Eagles with the White Helmics with the Green Wings.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_02]: I remember the Eagles with the beautiful Kelly Green, which they should always wear, why they wear the Green.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_02]: See, I'm an NFL historian.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_02]: I'm a bare fan, but I've been around since, and I like to brag about it.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_02]: Now, I'm not ashamed.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_02]: I'm a boomer.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_02]: You want to call me a boomer?
- 4:16[SPEAKER_02]: Let's go.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_02]: That's a beautiful name for God.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_02]: Guys, like me, I was boomers our people born up until 64, and I'm going to
- 4:25[SPEAKER_02]: Just sunny Jurgencin was a good quarterback, very stable, great analysis later on in the quarterback with the redskins.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_02]: So I understand.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_00]: You know what?
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: I heard a story and by the way, a big drinker.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, a tremendous, by the way, I was born in 64.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: So that's cool.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you're a former.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you've got that.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: Look, so let me let me give you a story about sunny Jurgencin.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: So my uncle
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: Um, Lombardy was on that coaching staff at the New York Giants.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: He was the offensive coordinator.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_02]: Tom Landry was on and his injury was also the defense.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_02]: I love this.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_02]: Folks, I, you could have Abraham Lincoln.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_02]: We tell you about Landry.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_02]: Well, yeah, you.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_02]: We talk about land here with the giants and lumbarity.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_00]: You're here in this guy.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: So check this out.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_00]: So he told me when Vince was dying and he had cancer when he was the head coach.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: That was tough.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: Of the Washington Redskins, then, he said that sunny Jurgencin, he told sunny Jurgencin, if he had been the quarterback in Green Bay instead of star,
- 5:34[SPEAKER_00]: He said they may never lost a football game.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_00]: He said that he enjoyed coaching him and Washington and said that guy was totally one of the absolutely greatest players he had ever coached.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: That's the respect level that Vince had for Sunny Jorgensen.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_00]: And how he got that job, Mike?
- 5:55[SPEAKER_00]: How long bardy got that job?
- 5:56[SPEAKER_00]: Check this out.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: One year, he went to work for AT&T.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: after he left my uncle told me to story after he left he became the general manager of the Green Bay Packers and he wasn't really having a good time at all he hated what he was doing right he came back Jack Kent cooked gate came to him and said I'll give you a five percent
- 6:16[SPEAKER_00]: of the Washington Redskins.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_00]: If you come back and coach the team, and he goes, okay.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: So Vince had 5% of the Washington Redskins and they just sold it a couple of years ago.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_00]: I think when Snyder owned a team, they finally sold 5%, but can you imagine that he came back and what that 5% has changed?
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: It's something.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that kid.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_02]: I saw the documentary that kid the kid was gone.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I'm just passed away a couple of years.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_02]: God bless the family.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_02]: But I mean, you'll miss it.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_02]: Come home a more than a few times after eight highballs, a tough walk to the bottom more close.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to say this Vince Lombani.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_02]: And if you're a good talk show host, I always said this.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_02]: you can make a debate out of anything.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_02]: And I could debate that he's the greatest coach that ever lived.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_02]: But I also could debate, I also could debate.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_02]: We view bank who wanted both leagues.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_02]: I also could debate, dance, shula.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_02]: But Lamberti took over a team that had one game.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_02]: the year before with the same guys, there's no free agency, come on in, they look who we signed, you know, no, I'm stuck with Bart's star, okay, and who was a terrific quarterback.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_02]: That's no swipe, by the way, sunny jokes, no, no, those Bart's star is a top-field general of all time.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_02]: And you hear about unites in the 60s, don't ask me who the better quarterback was.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_02]: I'll give you the truth, it was Bart's star.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_02]: Lamberti took the takes over that team.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_02]: He runs what I would do.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_02]: The same play these five times until somebody can stop us and nobody can stop us.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_02]: The power is weak.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't get dancing.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_02]: Let's do okay.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_02]: We're up ten nothing.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_02]: Let's stop the power is weak and let's do a flee flicker.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_02]: You know, he never had he always took points.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_02]: Then he goes to Washington after winning the first two super bowls and those five titles and nine years old team then he goes to Washington and they make it.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_02]: with the same team that was just he's on the sidelines and I think he was a superstar yeah Jack and Cook knew exactly what he was doing.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_02]: You tuned in to the Washington Redskins to see those gold helmets with the R and the feather.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but get some body and he didn't look at it different.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_02]: He had the trench coat the same thing and when he got it canceled we were on shock.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_00]: My cares.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_00]: Here's the thing that my my uncle and I just I love the stories that he told about one party when nobody was in He always fought for him from for him.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: He always thought that
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: You know, that he was like late in the process of becoming a head coach because he was Italian, you know, and so that he thought he was, we all was going to wait, yeah, they thought he was a little prejudice with that whole thing, but he goes, he goes like this, so there was a card that I have Mike, there was a card that I have he goes, he went in and the first meeting he told those green Bay Packer guys, hey guys, you know, we're going to do here, we're going to learn and we are going to strive for perfection, you know, and full well.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_00]: None of us are ever going to obtain perfection.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to learn to live with greatness.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: And that's how we're going to win.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_00]: I got that on a card.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_02]: I've got a body time which meant you better get down that you better get into the meeting earlier.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_00]: And this, if I, if that's Jimmy Johnson or, well, by the way, you failed that today.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_00]: That's right.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_00]: That's right.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I, I, I can give out the, I can take it.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_02]: I will tell you right now, I can serve it from Zander.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_02]: I deserve it from Danny, because last week, I made a big issue about me, me not coming out until later, low, low temperament, a little bit, a little bit.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_02]: And then today, I go, oh,
- 10:02[SPEAKER_02]: And here's the thing.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_02]: I'm making a cup of coffee.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_02]: This is 2,026.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_02]: I got one of those Mr. Coffee things.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_02]: It takes five minutes for one cup to fill up.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_02]: They couldn't find the thinner things.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_02]: So now I get down there.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_02]: I go all crazy.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe they forgot about it.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe they're the, and the first thing I took 10 punches like Michael Spinks did against my Tyson.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: Mike is drinkin' still from Joe Dimaggio's Mr. Coffee, I love it.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_00]: Let me tell you something.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_02]: How great what our no good look at all of a sudden I've done about face.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_02]: I love the guys a player I like the guy don't get me wrong just like I I don't want ever see Brooks kept again after watching him go off for two days He leaves the tour and then leaves that tour and people are clapping for him Loyalty now is like a nightclub the name of a nightclub for God's sake They're clap he just left another group of guys.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_02]: What kind of jerk is he right?
- 11:02[SPEAKER_02]: I mean come on
- 11:04[SPEAKER_02]: I saw the story finds, I saw the story finds.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_02]: Wait, I bet a guy named Max McGreevy, they showed him like no times and showed a guy shooting an A, a captain, a defector, a defector from two tours already, but this guy signed a mine.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_00]: My point you make in a Hall of Famous last night, Roger Craig went in, Luke kickly went in, Mary Fitzgerald went in and obviously drew breeze.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_00]: It's over.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody can get in now.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_02]: Not anybody in.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_02]: Because you know what, if you don't know after five years, you shouldn't be in.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_02]: If you don't look, I looked it up today.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_02]: The Hall of Fame,
- 11:50[SPEAKER_02]: A good friend of mine, Jesse Rogers, from ESPN, he produced my show now, he's a big baseball guy.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_02]: He said, it's generational now.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_02]: I go, that's not what the Hall of Things for, okay?
- 12:01[SPEAKER_02]: Just, but admit what you pull folks are doing.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_02]: Not just Jesse, everybody, you're moving the goal posts a little bit.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_02]: Because I'm reading the Felix Hernandez, okay?
- 12:13[SPEAKER_02]: With 179 wins, okay, and 139 losses, not bad.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_02]: 54, 55, whatever percent.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_02]: But, Mickey Lola chied the other day.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_02]: 1968.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_02]: Now, he was set.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_02]: They said they put him in the bullpen for six weeks because he slumped.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_02]: He was 17 and six.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_02]: He won two other days of outpitch gifts in in that series.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_02]: and he pitched three games in the world series in 68 when McClain grabbed the bed and went one and two, he went three games and all complete.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_02]: And I got he is ERA 3.44, her name is
- 13:06[SPEAKER_02]: 3.44, so I'm saying to myself, okay.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_02]: So now, Lowlitch got 25% of the boat his highest amount in 99 and he was out.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_02]: And this guy's gonna get in.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going, it's over.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_02]: That's it.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_02]: You're letting me do that.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_02]: Somebody said, well, in this prime, nobody was better.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_02]: Your prime should be 10, 15 years if you're a Hall of Fame.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_02]: Don't you agree?
- 13:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't agree.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_00]: I do, and I mean, well,
- 13:36[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Wilbur, what had as many wins, beautiful dead.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, if you're going to go down that lane, I remember a big Wilbur on there with that socks uniform man, him being out there and pitching at 164 victories if I'm not mistaken.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_00]: I'll tell you one of the biggest, when you're a kid.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_00]: And you could the both of this is from my baseball card thing that you were talking about earlier.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah, this is like the socks bullpen used to be incentive.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_02]: That's when they had cool bullpen.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_02]: So it comes only to have a bullpen.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_02]: I think they have a like a picture of theater like underneath the bleachers or something.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_02]: But they were in center field.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_02]: Wilbur would.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_02]: But they had a ramp so you could see them pitch.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_02]: Smokey Burgess.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_02]: People don't even know.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_02]: Smokey Burgess was a portley little fat, great catcher, but couldn't hit worth a damn, you know.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_02]: But those weren't, they would say, hi, you know, now they've got security, you know what I'm saying?
- 14:40[SPEAKER_02]: So, yeah, it's just a different game.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_02]: Just different.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, listen, I, I, I, I, I must have went to Comminsky.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I, I, I must have went to old
- 14:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, when you walked in there, it was just always dark looking like left field.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_00]: Remember when they had the overhang like the overhang and yeah.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_00]: So I remember I let me tell you something.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_02]: I took the all down there in 1968 as a as a six to how it was like yeah 1415 year of I was a vendor.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_02]: You take the all back in 1968.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_02]: There was racial tension all over the place.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_02]: And I was the only guy like in the Alcarr, most of the time that was tasty.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_02]: Nobody bothered me.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_02]: I know buddy bothered me, but man, I remember that.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_00]: Because you look like a hood, that's why.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_02]: That's me, I heard.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_02]: I better be honest with you.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_02]: You auditioned for Ray Maland and the dial in for her to remake this time.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my, what do you make it a Super Bowl man?
- 15:44[SPEAKER_00]: What do you think?
- 15:44[SPEAKER_00]: What do you like on Sunday?
- 15:46[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to go double here.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_02]: I get this with the Miami game in the end.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_02]: I get in the end of minus us.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_02]: six and a half, and I had my, I'm, no, excuse me, I didn't be in on the money line.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_02]: And I had Miami plus the six, that's why I won both ends.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_02]: I think this is a game that could be three or four points.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_02]: And right now it's at four and a half.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm going to take the money line with the L.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm going to take the, and I've one of about four or five bets like that in the last two years, and I'm going to take Boston.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, New England with the Florida, I do love the over for folks out there, and I've been on fire in the playoffs.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like 16 of board check me out at North and North on our check me out when you're here, because I'll tell you exactly what I'm doing.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_02]: 45 net because I don't see and that's Russia that is going to panic either one of these quarterbacks.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_02]: Now, they have a great line and they pressured the quarterback enough, they had a good amount of sex, but there was no word not one guy and either team Danny with double sex.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_02]: See nobody told Danny this yet.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_02]: This is the first he's here.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_02]: And so, so I believe
- 16:58[SPEAKER_02]: Drake May makes up 72% folks, 72% of the offense.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_02]: That's past completions and runs, okay?
- 17:09[SPEAKER_02]: When you're in defense of lineman,
- 17:12[SPEAKER_02]: Your job on the end, if you're not an edged washer, is to contain and stop him.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_02]: If they don't get a rush up the middle, though, they're going to play into his hands, because you don't want him in the pocket.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_02]: You really don't want Drake, me, on a nice day.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_02]: We're not talking Denver here.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_02]: And by the way,
- 17:30[SPEAKER_02]: If I can, I was a Drake Nathan.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_02]: I think what he did was phenomenal.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_02]: I think there's journalists out there ladies and gentlemen that work for gambling channels and other things that are hyping certain people on their shows and one day have you while they're holding tickets.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so you're not gonna always get.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_02]: In other words, it was a close vote.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_02]: In my world, it shouldn't have been.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_02]: But,
- 17:57[SPEAKER_02]: People drove the yards up and stay effort by saying,
- 18:03[SPEAKER_02]: That back as he ain't gonna be ready by open in day and Danny remembers this he ain't gonna be ready by open in day They fact they'll be lucky they got him by week three all of a sudden by week five He's an MVP candidate Now who pitches all this we know and who's got tickets a lot of these guys okay?
- 18:24[SPEAKER_02]: So Drake may against common opponents this year was six in all
- 18:30[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, his touchdowns 14 is interceptions five common opponent staff are foreign to this is you don't get this on the gym on the gym wrong show for two 14 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_02]: They had a May at 87, first downs, completions on first downs and Stafford at 77, and May at a QBR of 81 and Stafford 57.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_02]: Where did you read it?
- 19:04[SPEAKER_02]: No, where?
- 19:07[SPEAKER_02]: Because these guys already got things contrived, they get together.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_00]: Mike, I would say this two about May.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_00]: You know, they looked at the 55.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_00]: I think it was 55, eight is completion percentage.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_00]: You had weather and Mike looking to last two defenses.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah, he looks like, actually, he's going to be like, first time just high.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_02]: Mays was I thought it was around 55 a go and check your right, but I'll tell you this.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_02]: You're right.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_00]: He played in Denver and one on the road in a snowstorm But the Texans and the Broncos defense those are the two best defenses in pro football.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_00]: So right.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_00]: I look at that and go like this.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_00]: You're not going to be a I don't care who you are.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_00]: You're not going to throw 68% against those defense.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm not going to happen so I don't know.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_00]: Those numbers are a little bit jaded because of the type of defenses they lined up.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_00]: So he's a really, I mean, looking, he's, he's in the Super Bowl and Mike.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_00]: They were 9-in-0 on the road this year.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_02]: And wait, they had four wins last year.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_02]: And by the way, I always love this.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_02]: If McAfrey goes down next year, then Chan and we'll suck as a coach again.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sick of the praise.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_02]: They won five games a year before.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_02]: he didn't lose perity for any mere period of time, and they had mecaf read this year.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_02]: So they're back, okay?
- 20:27[SPEAKER_02]: If he loses one of those two guys, he's back the five wins.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_02]: What Ben Johnson did in my lifetime is a fair fan that he only got one vote.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_02]: You didn't watch the games.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_02]: You couldn't have watched the games.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_02]: That's all I'm saying.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_02]: And I've compliment bare coaches like I throw sewer covers at people, are you kidding me?
- 20:47[SPEAKER_02]: So this guy was phenomenal.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not saying he should have won.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_02]: I like play, though.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_02]: I like McDonald's, they had a strong year.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_02]: But you guys know, him cone was good.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_02]: All of them were good.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_02]: All of them were good.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_02]: That's the problem.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_02]: But my God, one first place, both Danny Pompey, thank you, you're the guy that put it in from the athletic but come on, come on.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_02]: I like both, I like the middle.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_02]: I caught the double shooter and I liked the over because I think nobody can guard the white receiver from Seattle and the end.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_02]: Whatever his name is.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_02]: I just think Drake May is going, his total for running, Dan is 39, over under.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, hi, for a Super Bowl.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_02]: Here's what I would do, folks.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_02]: People go, Mike, folks.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_02]: I told John Jackson to take
- 21:38[SPEAKER_02]: Jalen Brunson.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_02]: He was in our own backyard.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_02]: He didn't talk to a guy named Valentine.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, the rest is history.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, I told Tim Floyd to take Mike Miller.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, a bull's coach.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_02]: And he said Mike Miller, H.O.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_02]: Marcus Pfizer.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_02]: The rest is history.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_02]: I know what I'm talking.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_02]: He was with you the year that year, too.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_02]: By the way, Mark Miller.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody laughing at me in Chicago.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_02]: Now, I just happened the thing.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_02]: that they're not going to run New England.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_02]: Josh McDaniel is like, the 49ers, they're running game with the short bass.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_02]: Roger Craig, that's why he's in the Hall of Fame, really.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he was a double dual threaded.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that may his completion overunder is 20 and a half.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to exceed that and he doesn't have to be losing.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_02]: I think if they know if they try to run against Seattle, they're not getting anywhere.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_02]: Give it to the half back for one yard
- 22:34[SPEAKER_02]: three out of every four times and if there's nothing one for twenty yards or one for ten yards because he's an underrated runner that nobody talks about.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_02]: What about Sam Darnell to you?
- 22:44[SPEAKER_02]: I mean the story of Darnell, what do you make him?
- 22:47[SPEAKER_02]: He's like me and great school you know I mean the guy was on like five teams and eight years you know what I mean?
- 22:54[SPEAKER_02]: I made it to the fifth grade in eight years.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_02]: So, no, this guy is phenomenal.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_02]: He was on five teams, I mean, five teams in eight years.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_02]: He then he settles in, he meets a nice girl, and the rest is history, you know.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_02]: His legs want to eat, his legs are stronger, things are better now.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_02]: You build up your stand up, you know, you have it up, you know, I mean, I used to like a can you stay where was one of my first of all, there's never going to be a job.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_02]: Thank Joe name it for everything.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_00]: If you can on as you're watching big bunny, please, which I know, you checked about big bunny coming up at the halftime.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_02]: I couldn't believe it yesterday.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_02]: He says, listen, you had four months to learn Spanish.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_02]: I go if I were to know, I would have
- 23:46[SPEAKER_02]: If I would have known, all the way from here, you're gonna have to know Spanish in America.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_02]: What?
- 23:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, some guys are gonna chase you.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna have to learn Spanish to watch the Super Bowl.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_02]: I can't believe it.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_02]: So now, we got the squares, you know, and all that, but look, County France is saying in 15 languages.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_02]: But it was a piezard just to keep it fair.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_02]: There was.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_02]: Wait, Andrea Pachele sings a nine languages.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_02]: Christine and Angela and Ricky Martin sing it to a language.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_02]: Big bunny, I have a message.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_02]: Sing one English song, sit down for four months and sing an English song to your American audience.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_02]: It's not up to us to learn what you got.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god, I can't believe it's going up.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_00]: Everything's going to happen.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_00]: Is everything else bad for it's bad?
- 24:44[SPEAKER_00]: Big buddy got you going here, man.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_00]: I, will you throw you the ball?
- 24:48[SPEAKER_00]: I'm watching the puppy ball.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, the kittens come out of their time.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, me and my wife watched that.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_02]: I got an all right to learn.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_02]: When the, when the, when the drug of the earth leaves, let me know.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, when he leaves the stage, please let me know.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_02]: So I can turn back this way.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_02]: But Mike, the kids like him.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_02]: Come on, I'm a boomer.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_02]: I like Paul Angle.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_02]: Leave me alone.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_00]: So you, you, you, you wanted to see like, I don't want us to be in a dagger.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_00]: Jadder up there again.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_02]: Mick Jagger's fan.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, I was only here.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_02]: He was editing.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't matter.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_02]: All I know is Mick, look, big bunnies very successful.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_02]: I don't, I don't, I don't be grudge anybody.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to see him in a dress with a mustache.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_00]: That's not the little prank.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_00]: Because I didn't give up.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_00]: Mike gave him a minute.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_00]: You was right to yourself.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but wait, Mike.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_00]: You covered a guy in a dress for like, what?
- 25:43[SPEAKER_00]: Seven years.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_00]: One of my best ones.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_00]: Rodden, you covered Rodden for like, bubble.
- 25:48[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_00]: Now he's looking a guy in a dress.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_00]: But Rodden's getting rebounder.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_02]: Rodden's in, say, I sound.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_02]: So I only could go so far.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_02]: That's how I say it.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you know, Drake made 37 and a half rushing yards over under.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_00]: I love the over.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_02]: I love the over.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, come on.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to have to run to any if unless he doesn't get there pass rush.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_02]: So maybe I might reassess that I think over 19 and a half completions.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_02]: at minus 130 is safe because they're going to pass I think from the get call you think they're very much try to establish the run may you can't run against the animal you can't so what and if you can't see animals going to lose that's it they're done so I think the interesting one is
- 26:48[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, it's over.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_02]: That he won't even throw one and your first reaction was over next my first reaction.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_02]: I'm saying to myself, this guy might have a super game and my fun and be one of the, you know, you talk about the coach of Indiana about seeing Donald the one of the greatest reclamation things that's ever happened in the NFL by far, ever.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_00]: Ever.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_00]: Over wonder over under bad bunnies got in six and chills or do you think he's in a courtship?
- 27:21[SPEAKER_00]: Mike, I love yours.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_00]: I love your big bunny.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_00]: I love your bad bunny or whatever the hell he is.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_00]: I'm glad you're a big bunny.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_02]: I have another I have an alternate.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_02]: Every restaurant in Austin is half time show.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_02]: And it's gonna be a center of hanging as a bad bunny or a big bunny or whatever his name is.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_00]: Bad bunny, I'm getting.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_00]: So you're doing an alternative.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_00]: How many times do you do?
- 27:46[SPEAKER_02]: White smoke presents.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna smoke my first thing
- 27:51[SPEAKER_02]: Wait, and then I'm a wolf.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_02]: Mocha to my mouth.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_02]: It rings.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_02]: Wait, it's a smoke.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, now wait.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_02]: Here's what I think Tom Brady should do.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_02]: Pizza Hut should, at half time, should have him after eating a whole pizza in front of America to convince people that, yeah, some guy said, well, he's allowed to cheat day.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_02]: I go.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_00]: He, he doesn't even take a bite.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_00]: How about wait a minute, here's another, here's one I don't believe I think he's full of shit on ready.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, he doesn't have a dog in this fight.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like wait a minute, Tom, you played 20 years in the wing.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_02]: What did he retract today?
- 28:31[SPEAKER_02]: He retracted, he said that.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_02]: If you guys then remember what I said back in the day.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_02]: uh, I said I was a patriot for life.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_02]: So that's the farthest he'll go.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_02]: Other than that, I don't care.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_02]: He's been a public, it's been a public relations disaster for him this week, uh, in a number of, and his last game, I, I, I think I discussed it here.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_02]: I thought role model had a better game.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_02]: I thought time rolled defense.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_02]: I told Tom didn't want to insult McVay.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_02]: I thought time has too many close ties.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_02]: I think
- 29:05[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I mean, if that's the way I look at it right now, he's, he's fully corporate now.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to be a first spell in Hall of Famer on the way they treated craft in the way they did Bellachek.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_02]: He better be otherwise it is being done.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_02]: I look, all three should be in.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_02]: I craft said the way to long time.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_02]: So in my opinion, he better be, but I can give you an argument now that Joe Mike and I was the better quarterback.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, four and zero when the rules were we're going to kill you and there's no blue Kent.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_00]: Here's something Mike that I've always said.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_00]: I played against Joe and here's something that I'll always say about him and it's in his Super Bowl.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_00]: He had 135 quarterback rating.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_00]: He never through, excuse me, he never through a pick.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_00]: He had 12 touchdown passes.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_00]: And he beat guys like Marino and Elway and those super balls.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, no, it is an, and he destroyed him.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_00]: And he never lost a super ball.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_00]: He never lost.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_00]: He's kind of the Michael Jordan of the other because you got my 10 to walk.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, now you got our guy who lost three, seven to three and twice to E-line.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, I heard all the hype about staff staff were winning the MVP.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_02]: The Carolina Panthers almost beat them twice.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_02]: Folks, I don't care where you go.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_02]: This is what it's about.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_02]: Jim Gray, again, today, I hear him today.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_02]: Now, everybody says, I hate when people say that.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody says, that's what the report is.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_02]: Journalists like to do.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_02]: That's why the papers are folding.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody says that the Rams were the best came.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_02]: Seattle was favored the last game.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't believe that.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_02]: or Puka, and he won 14 games as a second-year guy.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, one dude, he had Jason.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I got Jason.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_02]: I got to listen to nonsense.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_02]: This is why it's hard for a boomer like me.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_02]: People say, hey old man.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_02]: be quiet, and I say, shut up and learn something.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_00]: But you're not taking, but see any guy within a pin in a bad bunny, man.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there's no way, I saw Milton Brown in drag in 58.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_02]: All right, let's say, you know what I'm saying.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_02]: So I mean, and that's when everybody said, look at him.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_02]: He's dressed like a girl, and it was okay for him.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_02]: So you're right, liberal artsy, then, right?
- 31:41[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I love the story.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_02]: You ever see to live a Rachi story?
- 31:44[SPEAKER_02]: I did run.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_02]: You don't walk.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_02]: You run.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_02]: But River Rachi was coming out of a bar.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_02]: And you were walking.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_02]: Turn around as quick as 5th floor had for the automobile.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_00]: That was that HBO show, right?
- 31:55[SPEAKER_00]: I saw that.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_00]: Michael Douglas and Matt Damon kissed all the way.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_02]: It was actually a crazy show.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_02]: It was a great show.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_02]: I loved the movie and the balls they had.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, yeah, way ahead of their time and nobody talks about it.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you know, Liberace was on that Sullivan once every three weeks folks.
- 32:14[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you very much.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean, everybody, Michael Douglas was fantastic.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_00]: He was, he was phenomenal in it.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's been over under 96 and a half.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_00]: What is that?
- 32:27[SPEAKER_00]: Jason, what is he ever receiver?
- 32:30[SPEAKER_00]: over on.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
- 33:01[SPEAKER_02]: that's over.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's going to.
- 33:05[SPEAKER_02]: I look all he needs is to break one.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_02]: And then if you could catch five, if he could break one for six, you 70, it's worth the bet.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_02]: It depends what the money line is.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_02]: What's the money line on that answer?
- 33:16[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what the money line is on that.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_00]: I just know they over under on that there.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, give me, give me some update on what's going on with the Chicago stadium talk.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_00]: What's going on with all staying here?
- 33:25[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, oh, oh.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_00]: So wait a minute, wait before you go get this.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_00]: So we have Chicago talking about moving.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_00]: Now we have Kansas City moving out of Arrowhead, too.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_00]: So you know the NFL, they don't give a crap and puff their fat base up.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_00]: No, they just look new ball parts built.
- 33:48[SPEAKER_00]: So Chicago, what's the latest on this thing?
- 33:50[SPEAKER_02]: All right, here's my take out of the rumor is we've heard from my name 1000.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_02]: We're moving back to St. Louis.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to tell you, they did this in the 90s.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_02]: They threatened to move to Gary, Indiana, okay?
- 34:06[SPEAKER_02]: That's like me, if you ever saw the movie, no country for old men, inviting sugar in for a cup of coffee, okay?
- 34:13[SPEAKER_02]: That was, that was, that was going to be unbelievable, because it smelled, it's stunk.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_02]: They put the riverboats out there for gambling.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_02]: Nobody goes there.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_02]: Now, the hell's family wants tax breaks.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_02]: These were peat normal people that inherited a football team because mugs alice died, okay, they had nothing.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_02]: Now they have a franchise worth 8.9 million, they want to build their stadium, but they're also going to build an entertainment thing, but they want to help with the property taxes.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_02]: Well, the politicians are gone.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_02]: Well, and I hate both sides.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, the bears and the problems.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, it's this is one of those rare occasions I'm writing the fence, but for all the wrong reasons.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, so, so all I would say is that, okay, they have beautiful land in Arlington Heights, where Arlington Park Racetrack was, it's bigger than were sci-fi is, and they got all the infrastructure in the world, but they can't get a tax break in the Illinois.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_02]: That's the dog track, right?
- 35:12[SPEAKER_02]: Now, horse track, horse track, okay, we're now in 10 million ones.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_02]: And it's got like, yeah, beautiful, it's got just one of the great palaces.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_02]: They knocked it down, the bear's bought it, and they've been sitting on it for three years, like, like, what are you doing?
- 35:24[SPEAKER_02]: And they've had the pay property taxes, and they want breaks, or they want it frozen, because they've been too slow on the draw.
- 35:31[SPEAKER_02]: So I understand they want tax breaks, but on the other side, your building at entertainment center, too.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, okay, you're going to have other things, and you're going to pocket all the dough, okay,
- 35:42[SPEAKER_02]: My deal is that they should probably reduce soldier feel, but not to completely down, incorporate the columns, because I think if they move to Hammond and Indiana, it's 36 miles from Chicago folks.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_02]: Learn from the Washington Redskins and commanders.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, great move from Washington to land over Maryland.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_02]: That's right.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_02]: It was a nightmare.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_02]: And if you listen to people that were fans, they lost the right identity.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_00]: No, every thing.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, Mike, the 49ers have lost the right dead.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, let's see for a little stick.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_00]: and going to Santa Clara, you listen to the people that are 49er fans, you have lost almost all of those great fans from the United States to Chicago bears this.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_02]: How many?
- 36:33[SPEAKER_02]: Wait, people don't want to go to weightsax parking more.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_02]: Now you've got to drive another 45 miles.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_02]: If you're, if you're a season ticket holder on the north side, you've got to drive all the way through town into Indiana, and they're going to build a concert venue there.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, just where I want to go on a Friday night.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_02]: Amen.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_02]: Well, let me tell you something.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_02]: Hammond Lake County, this is nothing against them.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_02]: They're going to throw the kitchen sink at them.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_02]: New stadiums like the answer are not for for the people they're for owners.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_02]: That's right.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_02]: But they're going to kill most of their a lot of their fan base.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_02]: They're to try to drive it.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_02]: It will not not in the end.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_02]: But I mean, am I going to go see.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_02]: No, I don't care.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_02]: You're not driving the Hammond.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, even if they have a casino, there's 10 casinos before you get to Hammond, there's no way there's no way folks in Chicago are driving it.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, no way.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_02]: I'll give you this.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_02]: This is books.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they're around the campfire here.
- 37:31[SPEAKER_02]: I'm cold uncle Mike.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, this there's 500,000 people in Lake County.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_02]: That's the county where Hammond is.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_02]: There's 5 million in cook.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_02]: So I might some of the bears want to go where the lesser people are for some tax breaks.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_02]: They go to only can you how much they have the bears would be if they moved to Arlington.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_02]: A lot more than if they moved to Hammond.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_02]: And they're in the middle of the desert.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_00]: Mike, what would happen to, what would happen to soldier field if they end up moving?
- 38:04[SPEAKER_02]: I think they might keep it, but they've been on the destroyed historic things there.
- 38:11[SPEAKER_02]: So it wouldn't surprise me if, you know, it just,
- 38:16[SPEAKER_02]: When I was a kid, the cargo hold another NFL city for another NFL team in a heartbeat.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_02]: I wish I had luck.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_02]: If I had enough money to buy the bears, I would have been digging at our Lincoln Park already.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_02]: I'm worth 9 billion and I wasn't worth deadly until I got this team, and I'm going to head over property taxes and trying to raise my mother's 96 in his ability.
- 38:42[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that's just what's wrong with both sides and the taxes are ironed at one point, but there's it's too bad apples.
- 38:49[SPEAKER_02]: They used to say one bad apple spoil over, but if you even think about moving to somewhere else and use the Chicago Bears, they don't give a rat say, that's about you.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_02]: What are you going to put in, right?
- 39:00[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, no, I mean, they're going to be the Chicago Bears.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_02]: Just like I don't look, the metal land has been good for the giants.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_00]: And I think you would agree, the problem that, okay, the problem that you're going to get there and the problem that the San Diego Chargers fans, the old ones now the Los Angeles Chargers, you're sharing.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_00]: Here, but Mike what happened was when they initially because if you remember right they moved out of Yankee then they went up to the Until the until the metal lands were built the jet had it was generational where That early part we're saying this.
- 39:34[SPEAKER_00]: I'll never drive the Newark to go to go to Giants and Jets Never those people died off
- 39:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_00]: Now everybody goes and drives to the metal lands.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_00]: So that's what the NFL is.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_00]: The same thing with San Diego charger fans, charger fans are like this, I'll never drive up there.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_00]: They probably won't to go up the sofa, but what the NFL's looking at is this.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_00]: If I get a brand new stadium, the net wealth of the Macaski family is automatically going to increase whether it's in Hammond or whether or not it's in Chicago.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_00]: They don't give a ship, Mike, because you know why?
- 40:12[SPEAKER_00]: They want to host Democrat national conventions.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_02]: They want to
- 40:24[SPEAKER_02]: The fact that it's in Santa Clara and nobody cares about this so nobody cares I went to 17 I was on radio role the second year there when there was 12 stations And I went to 17 straight radio roles and they were filled with athletes and but there was a group of us there wasn't 500 tables right here was that Mike
- 40:48[SPEAKER_02]: I think ninety three ninety four ninety four I work on ninety three to ninety uh to two thousand five six something like how many how many radio stations was there in ninety three because I was working in ten it was twelve.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_02]: there was 12 of us.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_02]: I want to be the first to go to the combine and because the whole house connected and my buddy got sick and we ended up not going and then I now it's a big deal.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_02]: Now they do it, but I want to do that at the beginning.
- 41:18[SPEAKER_02]: I want to be on radio role for the Super Bowl.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_02]: I thought it was important because I loved all the players, yeah, and it was wonderful.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, what do you make out, what do you make out the game is grown and the Super Bowl how it's grown?
- 41:31[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you, you can grow wide.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_00]: I tell you all the time, you're one of the guys that really were like, you know, we had our an asking an angel of cataloging on this for me.
- 41:39[SPEAKER_00]: And so, but for guys like you were like when you see the Super Bowl and how it's grown right now, you get 8,000 people getting credentials to talk in the pit now to the athletes back in the day now you have to by the way Mike, you got two hour drive in between both they're using a San Jose convention center and are using a Mark Cody center downtown in San Francisco, I don't miss it.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_00]: Like what you're traffic, I live there.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_00]: It's like two and a half hours.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_00]: I heard it's nightmare.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_00]: Dan.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_02]: They say, they don't care.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_02]: Good del don't care.
- 42:09[SPEAKER_02]: That's the way it is.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_02]: Look, my go back to when Nameth was in a lounge chair on the, by the pool.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_02]: Lay in a row of tone, everybody, I'm gonna kick the shit out of the cults.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_02]: And they're laughing at him.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_02]: And there's like 12 reporters gathered around him.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_02]: I remember when Elherth played the half time at the first Super Bowl, 35 to 10.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_02]: This is the gift that God has given me.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_02]: That I've been there from the beginning, which is cool,
- 42:36[SPEAKER_02]: I can hear people talk about it and now tell them, well, no, I, I knew, I remember when the Super Bowl was on two channels, when the, when they had not five, when NBC was on NBC and ABC, I went back and forth.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_02]: CBS, it was unbelievable.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_02]: You had curft out.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 42:53[SPEAKER_02]: You had different announcers, it was, it was magical and it was actual hatred for the two leagues that go.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_02]: Old man.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_02]: You know, the hammer and they're not the crap out of each other in the pack was 135 to 10, but then my good look I knew that I I could have loved the AFL even All's an NFL guy, but Gayle says told me they came after them did go they came after did go they came after Buckress, you know, I mean they all came after the big boys that was a well armed army the AFL and when they got in nobody said that when
- 43:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, when the first Super Bowl and he was asked, somebody went to him, I think it was willing to marry, willing to marry, and then the commissioner of rock, it was Pete Rosel, they went to him and said, this ain't just a game.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_00]: No, you can't lose this game.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_02]: Well, and they couldn't, and I didn't want them to lose.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_02]: We took a personal sort of like how we inflation.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_02]: We had the greatest ride, you know, let's talk about rivalries now.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god, you want, I, I land for Asia, the greatest three fights ever for, I mean, guys that wanted to kill each other, and then the AFL NFL, until the merger was signed to Joe name up, helped make it even more legit by kicking the crap and calling his own place.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I'm in radio row, and I'm looking down, and they used to bring the guests up,
- 44:30[SPEAKER_02]: I like this.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I'm a I'm a brown ass man, but I was a kid when Joe name was the coolest guy.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, one last thing here Mike, let me give you my name with story.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_00]: So I did.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_00]: I love you.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_00]: So I went up to a football camp in Quinnipia, Connecticut.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_00]: That he needs to have his, um,
- 44:50[SPEAKER_00]: His full contact and I go up there.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_00]: Joe name it is the, the Joe name with all sports camp.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_00]: I went up there.
- 44:58[SPEAKER_00]: Guys were helping guys like all the people that he had there.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_00]: Phil Villapiana was coaching us.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_00]: All these guys from the past during that decade.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_00]: I told them man, hey, you know what Joe name is?
- 45:11[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a Joe Nameth guy, man.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_00]: I graduated from your football camp and went on to the national football league and he was so Wait, if you look, this is this is a boomer.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_02]: Alcohol boomer, don't That's right.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_02]: No, it's white smoke white smoke is talking to you Oh, man, I got a fix it to bed
- 45:42[SPEAKER_02]: Ali, I mean, those guys, it came to play.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_02]: They're both, you, why can't you like both?
- 45:49[SPEAKER_02]: They were, they were both played.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_02]: They were, though I was more Joe Fraser, but Joe name it, is the coolest athlete, dude.
- 45:56[SPEAKER_02]: And they'll never be another one.
- 45:58[SPEAKER_02]: And like, what, huh, all these youngsters, getting back at me, I said name it the other day,
- 46:07[SPEAKER_02]: most important guy, maybe a top five in the national look at me, and people, oh, well, look, I look to the stats.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_02]: You, you, I mean, seriously, folks, I feel like sometimes I know there should be an entrance exam, even for X.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, and if you want to talk sports, you've got to know what John nameeth, Metton Lee.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_02]: John nameeth called an 18, he was an 18 point underdog.
- 46:32[SPEAKER_02]: Call him the game, told everybody that.
- 46:36[SPEAKER_02]: They had to win that game to merge the league.
- 46:39[SPEAKER_02]: People say it was fixed.
- 46:40[SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't fixed on Julia didn't want to lose that game.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_02]: They got beat because the fixed game is filled with fame punches.
- 46:48[SPEAKER_02]: It was asking going on there, man.
- 46:51[SPEAKER_02]: Johnny Sample.
- 46:52[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Matt's now.
- 46:55[SPEAKER_02]: Joe name is unbelievable.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_02]: He's a hero.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_02]: And then he even I'm the national TV he tells a chick he wants the kisser.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
- 47:05[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, Mike I'm gonna leave it on that white smoke.
- 47:11[SPEAKER_02]: I love it.

- 47:34[SPEAKER_02]: We all got a breaking point.
- 47:36[SPEAKER_02]: How many beers does it take before somebody says something?
- 47:38[SPEAKER_02]: You just break into a rage.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see, boy, I'm gonna say about six.
- 47:49[SPEAKER_00]: Really, I thought I would be kind of relevant to them.
- 47:52[SPEAKER_00]: Nah, because I drink, see, I don't drink but I drink Corona.
- 47:56[SPEAKER_00]: So I just, you're trying to get me there a little quicker.

- 48:02[SPEAKER_00]: I break glass.
- 48:03[SPEAKER_00]: I get where you're talking.
- 48:04[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't like to break glass because you know, I'm a pacifist now.
