- 0:01Speaker 1: Okay, James's fine NEWSI was Colleen Buxmoll. I thought with
- 0:07Speaker 1: Chelsea Clinton's wedding in two thous she'd already be mentioned
- 0:11Speaker 1: in a civil lawsuit by Fortunior Jewfree before that, Jeffrey
- 0:15Speaker 1: Empstein has already been convicted before.
- 0:18Speaker 2: She came as the plus one, the guest of someone
- 0:22Speaker 2: who was invited.
- 0:25Speaker 3: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Good Friday morning. It's nice to have you with us
- 0:32Speaker 2: on the forty seven Morning Update, and we've got a
- 0:34Speaker 2: big story for you. Joe Biden's FBI was spying on
- 0:39Speaker 2: Cash Betel and now FBI director and Susie Wilds, the
- 0:44Speaker 2: chief of staff at the White House right now. They
- 0:47Speaker 2: were spying on them and their phone records and even
- 0:49Speaker 2: tapping one of the phone calls that we know about
- 0:52Speaker 2: of Susie Wilds. All of this during the federal Trump investigation.
- 0:57Speaker 2: So what happens next and what did we learn about this?
- 1:01Speaker 2: It's shocking and I've got it all for you. But
- 1:03Speaker 2: first I want to talk to you about the important
- 1:05Speaker 2: work that's being done for the people in Israel right
- 1:07Speaker 2: now with IFCJ. Israel is a very hot topic right now,
- 1:12Speaker 2: and with so many opinions and emotions surrounding it, it
- 1:15Speaker 2: can feel hard to know where to start. The Bible
- 1:18Speaker 2: tells us I will bless those who bless you. That
- 1:21Speaker 2: isn't just a comforting promise, it's a clear calling from God,
- 1:25Speaker 2: and today, with anti Semitism rising around the world, that
- 1:29Speaker 2: calling is more urgent than ever. At a time when
- 1:32Speaker 2: Jewish communities are experiencing more hostility, more threats, and more
- 1:36Speaker 2: violence than ever, Christians have a powerful opportunity to respond
- 1:40Speaker 2: with God's love to say you are not alone. When
- 1:44Speaker 2: Christians choose to bless Israel, we're not entering a political issue.
- 1:48Speaker 2: We're honoring the root of our faith and standing against hatred.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Supporting Israel is more than a belief, it's a biblical mandate.
- 1:56Speaker 2: And by partnering with the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews,
- 2:00Speaker 2: you can push back against darkness and be a light
- 2:03Speaker 2: to God's people. Learn how you can bless Israel and
- 2:07Speaker 2: be blessed in return. Visit IFCJ dot org today. That's
- 2:11Speaker 2: IFCJ dot org today, Be a blessing live in the world.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Answer the call. It's the forty seven Morning Update and
- 2:18Speaker 2: it starts right.
- 2:19Speaker 3: Now story number one.
- 2:21Speaker 2: At least ten FBI employees who worked on former Special
- 2:26Speaker 2: Council Jack Smith's investigation to President Donald Trump's retention of
- 2:31Speaker 2: classified records after he left the White House in twenty
- 2:34Speaker 2: twenty one were fired on Wednesday. Multiple sources are now
- 2:38Speaker 2: confirming the firings came after Reuters reported that the FBI
- 2:43Speaker 2: had subpoena records of phone calls that were made by
- 2:47Speaker 2: the FBI Director Cash Pattel and White House Chief of
- 2:50Speaker 2: Staff Suzy Wilds when they were still both private citizens
- 2:55Speaker 2: as part of Smith's probe into Donald Trump. The BIDENI
- 2:59Speaker 2: c crequrrently obtained Susie Wilde's phone records, including from when
- 3:03Speaker 2: she was Trump's campaign manager, and they even record a
- 3:08Speaker 2: phone call she had with her lawyer. Yes, it is
- 3:11Speaker 2: an insane story now. Patel said the collection of phone
- 3:15Speaker 2: records extended into Wilde's time as Trump's co campaign manager.
- 3:20Speaker 2: He did not say when exactly the record collection began
- 3:24Speaker 2: or when it ended. The FBI discovered the phone records
- 3:28Speaker 2: and files categorized as prohibited quote unquote, which makes them
- 3:33Speaker 2: difficult to discover on the bureau's computer system. Patel said,
- 3:37Speaker 2: he recently ended the FBI's ability to categorize files as prohibited.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Smith's investigative techniques have previously drawn shock from GOP leaders,
- 3:48Speaker 2: including the seizure of phone records of US senators and
- 3:52Speaker 2: other Republican officials during Smith's probe into alleged efforts to
- 3:57Speaker 2: overturn the twenty twenty presidential election. Reuters also could not
- 4:03Speaker 2: establish when records the FBI obtained or who approved those subpoenas.
- 4:08Speaker 2: The news agency also couldn't ascertain of Pateeller Wiles themselves
- 4:13Speaker 2: were actually under investigation, and if so, why now. Both
- 4:19Speaker 2: were close to Donald Trump during that period as he
- 4:22Speaker 2: built towards and ultimately launched his twenty twenty four campaign
- 4:26Speaker 2: to reclaim his presidency. Both Patel and Susie Wilde's were
- 4:30Speaker 2: known to have been interviewed by investigators as part of
- 4:33Speaker 2: Smith's investigation into Trump's retention of classified documents following his
- 4:38Speaker 2: first term and that raid at mar Lago in twenty
- 4:42Speaker 2: twenty three. For example, the FBI recorded a phone call
- 4:46Speaker 2: we're now being told between Wiles and our attorney. According
- 4:51Speaker 2: to two FBI officials, Wiles attorneys was aware that the
- 4:56Speaker 2: call was being recorded and consented to it, but Susie
- 5:00Speaker 2: was not a spokesman for Smith to cline a comment
- 5:04Speaker 2: on Betel's allegations. As well, Biden and former Attorney General
- 5:08Speaker 2: Merritt Garland and former FBI Director Chris Ray, who oversaw
- 5:13Speaker 2: the Bureau during Smith's investigations, did not respond to any
- 5:17Speaker 2: of the requests for comment from the media. Garland appointed
- 5:21Speaker 2: Smith as his special counsel. Everyone buried the lead. Here
- 5:26Speaker 2: is what one person said on x It's not just
- 5:30Speaker 2: that the FBI subpoena Cash and Susie's phone records. The
- 5:34Speaker 2: FBI recorded a phone call between Wiles and her attorney.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Even worse, the lawyer knew the FBI recorded the conversation
- 5:44Speaker 2: and didn't tell his own client, Susie Wilds. I want
- 5:48Speaker 2: you to take a listen to this from Fox News
- 5:51Speaker 2: Channel with Brett Baer. As they were reporting more on
- 5:53Speaker 2: the story.
- 5:55Speaker 4: The FBI director Cash Betel out with an allegation that
- 5:59Speaker 4: the prior f FBI obtained his phone records, and not
- 6:03Speaker 4: only his What can tell us about that, Brett?
- 6:05Speaker 5: This has been breaking in the last hour or so.
- 6:08Speaker 5: We are told that, according to Cash Bettel, the FBI director,
- 6:11Speaker 5: the prior Bureau leadership obtained his phone records and phone
- 6:15Speaker 5: records to current White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles
- 6:18Speaker 5: back in twenty twenty two and twenty twenty three. This
- 6:20Speaker 5: eventually led into the Jack Smith Special Council investigation into
- 6:25Speaker 5: then former President Donald Trump. We're told that some of
- 6:28Speaker 5: these records are just toll records, which don't have specific
- 6:32Speaker 5: information other than times and dates. They don't have the
- 6:35Speaker 5: actual content of calls. But two sources in the FBI
- 6:38Speaker 5: say that Susie Wiles's attorney agreed to be recorded by
- 6:42Speaker 5: FBI agents in twenty twenty three. She did not agree.
- 6:46Speaker 5: We've reached out to her for comment. FBI Director Bateel,
- 6:49Speaker 5: in a statement to Fox News calls this outrageous and
- 6:52Speaker 5: deeply disturbing. And I will add Brett that we are
- 6:54Speaker 5: told at least ten bureau employees have been fired just
- 6:59Speaker 5: today over this incident, with more potentially to come.
- 7:04Speaker 2: You listen to the ten that were fired, and that
- 7:06Speaker 2: is a start, is what many would describe it as.
- 7:09Speaker 2: But then there's the bigger question. What happens when the
- 7:11Speaker 2: justice system collides with politics? What happens when millions of
- 7:16Speaker 2: Americans start to believe that prosecutors are no longer neutral referees,
- 7:21Speaker 2: but active participants in a political war. Over the last
- 7:25Speaker 2: several years, we have watched the unprecedented targeting the President
- 7:30Speaker 2: Donald Trump, the investigations, the indictments, the subpoenas, the grand juries,
- 7:36Speaker 2: all led by Jack Smith and appointed by the Attorney
- 7:39Speaker 2: General Garland all of this under President Joe Biden. Now
- 7:44Speaker 2: here's what the shock factor comes in for many Americans,
- 7:48Speaker 2: because the simple question is was there even wrongdoing? Well,
- 7:52Speaker 2: the question many Americans are now asking is how did
- 7:56Speaker 2: the federal government cross this line? Jack Smith, he was
- 8:00Speaker 2: appointed in November of twenty twenty two, it was clear
- 8:03Speaker 2: it was a witch hunt. He was there to oversee
- 8:06Speaker 2: the political targeting the President Trump. They then decided to
- 8:10Speaker 2: go after him for documents at mar Lago. From the beginning,
- 8:14Speaker 2: critics argue that this was not simply a legal review,
- 8:18Speaker 2: but more of an aggressive, politically motivated prosecution of the
- 8:23Speaker 2: leading candidate to challenge Joe Biden in twenty twenty four.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Was the motive to cover for Joe Biden's cognitive decline
- 8:30Speaker 2: and make sure he didn't have to get into a
- 8:31Speaker 2: tough election with Donald Trump. That is, for well, different
- 8:35Speaker 2: people to decide, But to be clear, federal prosecutors and
- 8:38Speaker 2: investigators do have the authority to collect evidence when pursuing
- 8:43Speaker 2: a criminal investigation. The question is was it actually a
- 8:47Speaker 2: criminal investigation or was it just a political one. Well,
- 8:51Speaker 2: the more we're finding out, it's pretty clear it was
- 8:54Speaker 2: all politics and not actually a political investigation. I'd say
- 9:00Speaker 2: to America, making it clear he wasn't going to back down.
- 9:04Speaker 2: And it's also shocking how much abuse of power there
- 9:08Speaker 2: was at the highest levels. Now, if you think it's
- 9:11Speaker 2: just Donald Trump that this is happening too when it
- 9:13Speaker 2: comes to surveillance, you would also be wrong. In a
- 9:17Speaker 2: shocking news event today, the woman who's in charge of
- 9:21Speaker 2: the Department of Homeland Security, Christy Nome, came out and
- 9:26Speaker 2: said that she found spyware on her phone that was
- 9:29Speaker 2: put there by the Department of Homeland Security employees. Take
- 9:33Speaker 2: a listen to this.
- 9:35Speaker 6: Came into this office. It was you know, Elon and
- 9:38Speaker 6: his team were extremely helpful to me. They helped me
- 9:41Speaker 6: identify that some of my own employees in my department
- 9:46Speaker 6: had downloaded software on my phone and my laptop to
- 9:49Speaker 6: spy on me stop to record our meetings. Wow, they
- 9:53Speaker 6: had done that to several of the politicals.
- 9:55Speaker 3: Wow.
- 9:55Speaker 6: And so we ended up bringing in people and that
- 9:58Speaker 6: was something that if you didn't have those technology experts
- 10:01Speaker 6: here in the department looking at all of our laptops
- 10:04Speaker 6: and our phones and recognizing that kind of software, it
- 10:07Speaker 6: would still be happening.
- 10:08Speaker 5: Today's what happened to the individual that was uh, you know,
- 10:12Speaker 5: had your phone that was being spied on. What happened
- 10:16Speaker 5: to those individuals?
- 10:17Speaker 6: Fired fire, brought in polygraphed, fired, yes, many of them
- 10:21Speaker 6: out of that that arm of the department that are
- 10:24Speaker 6: in charge of security on laptops phones. Also, you know,
- 10:29Speaker 6: we had to sweep my office on a regular basis
- 10:32Speaker 6: to make sure that there's not listening devices in it.
- 10:35Speaker 6: It's it's very uh, it was very prevalent. And I
- 10:39Speaker 6: think that what happened at this department was individuals had
- 10:43Speaker 6: gotten away with for years spying on people who were
- 10:46Speaker 6: politically appointed and trying to stop an administration that was
- 10:50Speaker 6: coming in and trying to fix this country and keep
- 10:51Speaker 6: us safe.
- 10:52Speaker 2: You know, when you listen to what Chrissy Noom just
- 10:55Speaker 2: said there, I mean it is shocking but also not surprising.
- 11:00Speaker 2: This administration weaponized everything that they could possibly weaponize, I
- 11:06Speaker 2: mean anything that could weaponize to go after their political opponents.
- 11:10Speaker 2: But think about just how corrupt this is. You have
- 11:14Speaker 2: the woman that's coming in who's in charge the Department
- 11:17Speaker 2: of Home in Security, and her own employees are putting
- 11:19Speaker 2: spyware to spy on their boss on her phone as
- 11:25Speaker 2: the woman in charge of the Department of Homeland Security.
- 11:30Speaker 2: How does no one go to jail for this stuff?
- 11:32Speaker 2: That's the question that every American is asking right now,
- 11:36Speaker 2: and it's also a question that the President should be asking,
- 11:40Speaker 2: and that is when do we start arresting people for
- 11:43Speaker 2: doing these types of things. It's certainly something to think about.
