- 0:26Speaker 2: guest is Jay Arrington. Gavin while doing research for the
- 0:30Speaker 2: right ingredients for his beard in twenty sixteen, I don't
- 0:33Speaker 2: have a beard like Heim. He got a beard, you know.
- 0:36Speaker 1: I'm just happy to do what I got.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Jay Aaron to begin to share his findings and use
- 0:41Speaker 2: his family and friends as human testers. He then went
- 0:44Speaker 2: on to receive his bachelor's degree in Wellness, Recreation and
- 0:47Speaker 2: Sports in twenty seventeen. His passion for the art of
- 0:49Speaker 2: human body left him with a burning desire to help
- 0:52Speaker 2: individuals accomplish their personal best by living a healthy lifestyle
- 0:56Speaker 2: through fitness and wellness. From that desire gave birth to
- 0:59Speaker 2: Rugged a Beer Carolina products that he makes available to
- 1:03Speaker 2: other men of distinction he's a good friend of mine,
- 1:06Speaker 2: a young friend of mine that I've been like to
- 1:08Speaker 2: believe I've been mentoring and helping him alone the way. Please,
- 1:10Speaker 2: Welcome to money Making Conversation. The CEO and founder of
- 1:13Speaker 2: Rugged Evolution, Jay Arrington, Gavin Howy doing, sir?
- 1:17Speaker 1: I'm doing great? My friend, how you been well?
- 1:19Speaker 2: First of all, you're smiling man, and it's been a
- 1:23Speaker 2: fun journey. First of all, how's your mom? I gotta say,
- 1:25Speaker 2: how to mom?
- 1:26Speaker 1: Okay, my mom is doing awesome.
- 1:28Speaker 3: She's doing everyone's doing great. Healthy vaccinat everybody's doing grow.
- 1:33Speaker 2: I know that's really key. And in the business that
- 1:35Speaker 2: you in is dealing with look is dealing with facials,
- 1:38Speaker 2: dealing with people in close quarters sometimes. Talk about your
- 1:42Speaker 2: business during the COVID and did you have to make
- 1:44Speaker 2: any adjustments during the pandemic when the country shut down?
- 1:47Speaker 2: Did it impact you positively? Did you do a PPP.
- 1:52Speaker 2: We'll talk about the whole process in twenty twenty.
- 1:55Speaker 3: Well, twenty twenty, we were very fortunate for one where
- 1:59Speaker 3: on e commerce site, but we are located and our
- 2:02Speaker 3: products are sold in selective brick and mortar stores in
- 2:06Speaker 3: Hampton Roads, Virginia. But actually during the During that time,
- 2:09Speaker 3: I was moving into a much larger office space in
- 2:13Speaker 3: March of twenty twenty, so when when the whole shutdown
- 2:16Speaker 3: was going, I was moving on up to a much
- 2:18Speaker 3: bigger office and warehouse space. You know, continue to grow
- 2:22Speaker 3: and grow. Sales were still you know, still steady, but
- 2:25Speaker 3: we were very fortunate. Yeah, we were very blessed really
- 2:29Speaker 3: doing during COVID, but it was still an adjustment because
- 2:32Speaker 3: you had to get creative. I think whenever a new
- 2:36Speaker 3: obstacle comes upon comes my way, it helps me grow
- 2:39Speaker 3: as a business owner and as an entrepreneur. So with
- 2:42Speaker 3: that being said, we got more creative with things, did
- 2:46Speaker 3: stuff a lot more virtual. We did a lot of
- 2:48Speaker 3: Facebook Live during the during COVID, just to continue to
- 2:51Speaker 3: stay relevant to people that do follow us, almost kind
- 2:54Speaker 3: of like a Q theme style of Facebook Live.
- 2:57Speaker 1: So we were doing very good and adjust and getting
- 3:00Speaker 1: really creative during during the COVID.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Well, I'm gonna tell you now, and this is what
- 3:04Speaker 2: we talked about a long time ago about you being
- 3:06Speaker 2: the face of your brand. And at the time, you know,
- 3:11Speaker 2: the confidence was there. You know. I remember one time
- 3:14Speaker 2: we did an interview and you said, you know, so
- 3:15Speaker 2: many times. Hello, holo, holo, holover, Gavin. Look, we want
- 3:19Speaker 2: to do this interview again. I am not putting you
- 3:20Speaker 2: out there like that, young man. And you understood what
- 3:23Speaker 2: I was talking about because I had your best interest,
- 3:26Speaker 2: and you did it again and look at you now
- 3:27Speaker 2: you got a podcast. I want to get you farther
- 3:29Speaker 2: in the interview. I can see the confidence and how
- 3:32Speaker 2: you're talking in articulation. Talk about that growth, man, and
- 3:35Speaker 2: then also talk about the responsibility of becoming the face
- 3:39Speaker 2: of your brand and being able to articulate the value
- 3:41Speaker 2: of your brand from your personal point of view.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Well, you said the very first interview that I had
- 3:49Speaker 3: with you, miss McDonald, I was nervous.
- 3:51Speaker 1: You can hear.
- 3:52Speaker 3: You can hear the nervous and like you said, I
- 3:55Speaker 3: definitely took all your advice to hard learn grew more
- 3:58Speaker 3: of the vending shows that I intended. I looked at
- 4:00Speaker 3: that as a form of you know, working on my speaking,
- 4:03Speaker 3: talking in public with people, of promoting my brand. That
- 4:06Speaker 3: confidence booster, I mean, it was everything was growth, whether
- 4:10Speaker 3: it was especially being the face of my business and
- 4:14Speaker 3: of my brand. If I don't show that confidence, nobody's
- 4:18Speaker 3: gonna believe in my brand. So I had to build
- 4:20Speaker 3: up that confidence and had to definitely continue to educate myself.
- 4:23Speaker 3: I educate myself every day with my products, the type
- 4:26Speaker 3: of ingredients I put in my products. Uh, you know,
- 4:29Speaker 3: new things, old things, making sure I'm not behind but
- 4:32Speaker 3: ahead of the game at all at all times. And
- 4:35Speaker 3: that's really how I continue to grow and grow every day.
- 4:39Speaker 3: And it's I always think of the first, the first
- 4:42Speaker 3: time I was on the show, and it's always always
- 4:47Speaker 3: latter myself.
- 4:47Speaker 1: So what there's this by growth?
- 4:49Speaker 2: You know, it's about being able to be honest. And
- 4:51Speaker 2: that's what I've done all my life. You know, I
- 4:53Speaker 2: always like mentored and uplift and made sure that people
- 4:57Speaker 2: understand their skill. You didn't saw you didn't see what
- 4:59Speaker 2: I so. And you're at the time. You know, you
- 5:01Speaker 2: were a guy who was the CEO of a company.
- 5:05Speaker 2: He was very young when you started it. You know,
- 5:07Speaker 2: you've been you've been having a full beard since you
- 5:09Speaker 2: were fourteen years old, and so all these things God
- 5:13Speaker 2: put you in a position. Then you had to understand
- 5:15Speaker 2: how you can create value from that, you know what
- 5:17Speaker 2: I'm saying. So, but what I've noticed the most is
- 5:20Speaker 2: before we even get into the products and I'm just
- 5:23Speaker 2: going to do. The word evolution is how beards have
- 5:26Speaker 2: taken on a life of their own kind of life.
- 5:29Speaker 2: What Michael Jordan did with the bald hair ball head
- 5:32Speaker 2: when he shaved his head playing basketball.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Talk about that.
- 5:36Speaker 2: And then you know, you have a lot of famous
- 5:37Speaker 2: people in the NBA who have really marketed their beards
- 5:41Speaker 2: and things like that, but outside of them, just the
- 5:45Speaker 2: it's cool to wear a beard.
- 5:46Speaker 1: It always was kind of cool, but.
- 5:48Speaker 2: It feels like it's really come out into the forefront.
- 5:51Speaker 2: And that's why a brand like yours is starting to
- 5:53Speaker 2: benefit because you're providing beer beard care products.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:59Speaker 3: So, I I always love to say, you know, in
- 6:01Speaker 3: previous years, beards were always, like you said, was always cool,
- 6:05Speaker 3: but it was still a form of like, you know,
- 6:07Speaker 3: if you have this interview, be sure to shave that off.
- 6:09Speaker 1: You have this job, be sure to shave this off.
- 6:11Speaker 3: So I've always wanted to promote that whether you work
- 6:14Speaker 3: in corporate America or whether you are a label worker,
- 6:16Speaker 3: you can still be a man distinction while rocking a
- 6:19Speaker 3: well roomed beer. It's not a trend now, it is
- 6:22Speaker 3: a movement. You see men of higher power, you see
- 6:26Speaker 3: men at you know, mid level jobs or even all jobs.
- 6:31Speaker 3: They're rocking facial hair, beers, mustache, go tea. It's nothing
- 6:34Speaker 3: wrong with it. So as far as the evolution of growing,
- 6:38Speaker 3: it is starting to grow and show that you can
- 6:40Speaker 3: still be a man distinction, have that confidence while rocking
- 6:44Speaker 3: a well roomed beer.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Well, like you said, now that there are different layers
- 6:48Speaker 2: of beer, you have to go tea talk about you know,
- 6:51Speaker 2: we say beard beard care products, but you have goate's,
- 6:54Speaker 2: you have mustache. All your products can work that in
- 6:59Speaker 2: that care are lying because you should take care of
- 7:01Speaker 2: your must dad.
- 7:02Speaker 1: You should take care of all this stuff.
- 7:03Speaker 2: So let's not just say if you don't have you
- 7:05Speaker 2: just have a beard, then that's what your product. For
- 7:09Speaker 2: your product is for any facial hair correct.
- 7:12Speaker 3: Yes, sir, it is for all facial hair types our
- 7:15Speaker 3: product because at the end of the day, our facial
- 7:17Speaker 3: hair fellows are the magnets of bacteria in Greece, whether
- 7:20Speaker 3: you have a thin shadow, whether you have just a mustache,
- 7:23Speaker 3: whether you have the Van Dyke, the gold. See, the
- 7:27Speaker 3: beard is still the magnets of bacteria in Greece. And
- 7:29Speaker 3: if you don't take care of that right now, we're
- 7:31Speaker 3: in a warmer climate. So when we sweat a lot,
- 7:34Speaker 3: all that sweat, it builds up to that facial hair
- 7:36Speaker 3: and it starts and then you start having the older
- 7:39Speaker 3: the issue irritation on the skin bacteria.
- 7:41Speaker 1: So you don't want that.
- 7:42Speaker 3: So you always need to have a great product with
- 7:45Speaker 3: you in order to maintain that because at the end
- 7:48Speaker 3: of the day, I always say, you got to take
- 7:51Speaker 3: care of your body internally as well as externally.
- 7:53Speaker 4: Please don't go anywhere. We'll be right back with more
- 7:56Speaker 4: Money Making Conversations Masterclass. Welcome back to the Money Making
- 8:09Speaker 4: Conversations Masterclass, hosted by Rashaan McDonald.
- 8:12Speaker 2: I get that little round brush man, and it would
- 8:15Speaker 2: make a and I would you know a lot of
- 8:17Speaker 2: people come to me try to use their product, but
- 8:19Speaker 2: nobody touches that brush man. We're gonna talk about other products,
- 8:23Speaker 2: but I want to let you know that brush that
- 8:25Speaker 2: that travels with me. I got I bought another one.
- 8:28Speaker 2: I keep want at the office, I keep one at home.
- 8:30Speaker 2: I keep wanting my travel back. I got three of them.
- 8:34Speaker 3: Well that's just because see that brush, when you brush
- 8:36Speaker 3: twice a day, what that does. That stimulates the hair follicle.
- 8:39Speaker 3: So you always wanna brush twice a day helps open
- 8:41Speaker 3: up those hair follicles. So that's a really great thing.
- 8:43Speaker 3: Why you can see to maintain and why your wife
- 8:46Speaker 3: you said, I see a difference.
- 8:48Speaker 1: I would do it in the.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Mirror right next door, and she goes, if she could
- 8:52Speaker 2: see the side, just laid my hair down right and
- 8:55Speaker 2: then you know, because your hair would kind of like
- 8:57Speaker 2: start separating, but it would bring it all together.
- 8:59Speaker 1: Give me a fullness.
- 9:01Speaker 2: I guess that's what. It will give me a fullness
- 9:03Speaker 2: to my beard, no matter what level. Now what I'm
- 9:07Speaker 2: not trying to get away in your trade secrets? What
- 9:09Speaker 2: made your brush of one that affected my beard versus
- 9:13Speaker 2: other competition, because that hair brush is fantastic.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Well, the key thing is that the types of bristles.
- 9:20Speaker 3: I have one brush right here on the table. It's
- 9:22Speaker 3: one of our oblong brushes. Those board bristles are is
- 9:25Speaker 3: what key. You never want anything too hard because our
- 9:28Speaker 3: skin is very sensitive, so you don't want to have something,
- 9:30Speaker 3: you know, scratching the skin at all.
- 9:32Speaker 1: You want to have a boar bristle. Bar bristles it's
- 9:35Speaker 1: like almost in between.
- 9:37Speaker 3: It's slightly hard but very soft, so and it always
- 9:40Speaker 3: stays consistent too.
- 9:41Speaker 2: Right, And then and then I like to call the
- 9:43Speaker 2: little the little eye dropper. You need to put the
- 9:45Speaker 2: eye dropper, put it on your beard, make your beard shining.
- 9:48Speaker 2: So I got a little I can't never give you
- 9:49Speaker 2: a technical word, but I know I pull that little
- 9:51Speaker 2: eye dropper out man, put a couple of it in
- 9:53Speaker 2: my hand. Feel like that, put it on my beard,
- 9:56Speaker 2: looking shiny. I get that brush right behind it. If
- 9:59Speaker 2: I if I I ain't looking good, I think I
- 10:01Speaker 2: look good. All right there, that's all I got to.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Say, right, yeah, that's right. When you're looking good, you're
- 10:05Speaker 1: looking great. You're looking great.
- 10:06Speaker 2: So talk about some of the product that you have
- 10:08Speaker 2: in there, and then we're also going to go back
- 10:10Speaker 2: to the backpacks. I want to definitely talk about what
- 10:12Speaker 2: you're doing up in Hamping Road because I got such
- 10:15Speaker 2: a really good restawse of reaction when I posted about
- 10:17Speaker 2: it last year on my social media. You know, you
- 10:20Speaker 2: contacted me, you say could I post it? You know,
- 10:22Speaker 2: I'll do anything for you, and also going to make
- 10:24Speaker 2: a donation to you this year as well.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Thanks so much just.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Making the difference. But let's talk about the product. You know,
- 10:30Speaker 2: here's some product in front of you. If you're watching
- 10:32Speaker 2: this on video, you can see it. We're gonna be
- 10:34Speaker 2: as as creative and descriptive as possible for people who
- 10:39Speaker 2: are listening on my podcasts on my radio show, but
- 10:41Speaker 2: tell us what you got in front of us there, So.
- 10:43Speaker 1: I just have a slight view of our product.
- 10:45Speaker 3: So in total of regulution beard care, I started off
- 10:48Speaker 3: actually with just four cents of beard Bombs and beard Oil.
- 10:52Speaker 3: It's an on natural beard care line. So now we
- 10:54Speaker 3: now have sixteen cented beard Bombs beard Oil. As you
- 10:58Speaker 3: see right here, I have my lead even me, excuse me.
- 11:00Speaker 3: Our conditioning Shampapoo is a beard washed that I recommend
- 11:04Speaker 3: staying consistent, especially during the summertime. And we just launched
- 11:07Speaker 3: two new products. So I have my leaving beard moisturizer.
- 11:11Speaker 3: It's a beard cream. It's the scent of ginger.
- 11:15Speaker 1: It is so good. It's a very popular celler right now.
- 11:18Speaker 3: And it's mainly because again for the for the summertime,
- 11:22Speaker 3: for this heat, I try to adjust the routine when
- 11:26Speaker 3: it comes to beard maintenance. You don't want to apply
- 11:29Speaker 3: too much bomb, which is still good because it's a
- 11:33Speaker 3: great moisturizer, but you don't wt apply too much and
- 11:35Speaker 3: have all that oil building of so have something that
- 11:37Speaker 3: you know that's a non greasy substance onto that face.
- 11:41Speaker 3: So this is our leaving beard moisturizer. And then we
- 11:43Speaker 3: also have our our excuse me, our smooth Stash. Our
- 11:47Speaker 3: smooth Stash. We just launched that in March for Mustache Month,
- 11:51Speaker 3: and it's a musta oil serum right here. And what
- 11:55Speaker 3: you do is just you just apply this. You can
- 11:58Speaker 3: do either five seconds to ten second. You can go
- 12:00Speaker 3: in small circles right across. We started it just for
- 12:03Speaker 3: our mustache sporters. But as long as you have like
- 12:06Speaker 3: a nice upeat.
- 12:09Speaker 2: What you just said that, Gavin, what was that? You
- 12:11Speaker 2: just had repeat? What you what was that?
- 12:13Speaker 3: Down?
- 12:14Speaker 1: This is this is the snow. This is called smooth
- 12:16Speaker 1: Stash is a mustache serum.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Okay.
- 12:19Speaker 3: So and it comes in this dispense with this little
- 12:21Speaker 3: small rope ball and you can see that's a small
- 12:23Speaker 3: robe at the top and you just apply just like
- 12:26Speaker 3: that about five it is ten seconds. You're all good
- 12:28Speaker 3: to go. And it actually comes in a black velvet
- 12:30Speaker 3: bat with our new Ruggy Elution mustache comb. So right
- 12:35Speaker 3: after you finish that, you can apply that comb right there.
- 12:37Speaker 3: You're all good to go, and you can bring it
- 12:39Speaker 3: with you at all time.
- 12:41Speaker 1: It's very easy to travel.
- 12:42Speaker 2: You Oh you got you gotta slick on me, Gavin,
- 12:45Speaker 2: I would you know because sometimes listening because it wasn't ball,
- 12:50Speaker 2: because I said, this is not bad. It's a mustache.
- 12:52Speaker 2: I got, I gotta get that. I gotta get that now.
- 12:55Speaker 2: Now I got the little the little can the characters
- 12:58Speaker 2: you know, open and then you put on your face
- 13:00Speaker 2: as well.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Yes, yes, the beer bomb talk the beard bear. So
- 13:05Speaker 1: our beard bomb.
- 13:06Speaker 3: Our beer bomb is mainly for men with two inches
- 13:09Speaker 3: or more for guys with lengths, used as a detangler,
- 13:12Speaker 3: still as a great moisturizer, but we have a sixteen
- 13:16Speaker 3: sense of the beard bombs. I always will say, like
- 13:20Speaker 3: the thing of the beer bomb is like a dressing.
- 13:21Speaker 3: So the beard oil is made to treat the skin first.
- 13:24Speaker 3: So you always want to continue to use a beard
- 13:26Speaker 3: oil because you've got to make sure that skin is
- 13:28Speaker 3: taking care of underneath the hair in order to help
- 13:30Speaker 3: enhance and benefit your your beard. So you apply the
- 13:33Speaker 3: beard oil first, and while you do that, get right
- 13:36Speaker 3: there and good in those roots to tip. Then you
- 13:38Speaker 3: apply a little bit of beard bomb, which I use
- 13:41Speaker 3: every day Beard Oil and beerd Bomb, and then you
- 13:45Speaker 3: you apply one of our our accessories, one of our
- 13:48Speaker 3: Beard Wooden combes, and you are all good to go,
- 13:50Speaker 3: looking great and smooth.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Well you thank you because you you're the reason I
- 13:55Speaker 2: look great to smooth if I'm looking great smood because
- 13:58Speaker 2: of Gap. Let me just let y'all know now, Gavin,
- 14:00Speaker 2: here's the deal man, Now talk now. You got a
- 14:03Speaker 2: podcast now, and you know I ain't been on the podcast.
- 14:06Speaker 2: I ain't mad now.
- 14:07Speaker 1: I ain't mad, y'all. I'm not not yet yet. He
- 14:12Speaker 1: all said great things.
- 14:13Speaker 2: But shann with the beer. The old guy said, he's
- 14:16Speaker 2: trying to get that young demo. I know what he's
- 14:17Speaker 2: trying to do. He ain't gonna bring no old guy
- 14:19Speaker 2: on that right away. He's trying to get that young demo.
- 14:22Speaker 2: He think I'm a a r P his old podcast.
- 14:29Speaker 2: I'm tell you, I'm gonna call your mama. I said, y'all,
- 14:33Speaker 2: we we we me and croakers. I came up to
- 14:36Speaker 2: Hampton and can't he put me on his podcast? But
- 14:38Speaker 2: he's going in the year too. I still ain't got
- 14:41Speaker 2: no funk call. That's all right. I love him though,
- 14:43Speaker 2: I love it.
- 14:43Speaker 1: I love it. Yeah, so we're so yeah. Our Our
- 14:50Speaker 1: Smooth Club podcast.
- 14:52Speaker 3: It's a new podcast that we started, uh mainly during
- 14:55Speaker 3: the during the shutdown, and it was something that it's
- 14:59Speaker 3: funny so miss m down. When I started to attend universities,
- 15:03Speaker 3: they always ask you know, what would you want a
- 15:04Speaker 3: major and would you want to pursue a dream of mine.
- 15:06Speaker 3: I've always wanted to be on radio, whether it was
- 15:09Speaker 3: on a radio talk show or from when. I have
- 15:11Speaker 3: a passion for dialogue. I love having conversation with people.
- 15:15Speaker 3: I highly think that, you know, conversation is something that
- 15:18Speaker 3: can take care of all the world's problems by sitting down,
- 15:21Speaker 3: you know, talking amongst each other. So the podcast is
- 15:25Speaker 3: called Our Smooth Club and it's a show where every
- 15:27Speaker 3: day men discuss everyday topics. Through my journey and growing
- 15:31Speaker 3: my business, I met some great people who become great
- 15:34Speaker 3: friends of mine this show. Myself along with three of
- 15:38Speaker 3: my friends who are also business owners. Young business owners
- 15:41Speaker 3: were probably no more than like five years with our brands,
- 15:44Speaker 3: and the age group range is from twenty six to
- 15:47Speaker 3: like sixty five. One of our co hosts, he is
- 15:50Speaker 3: an international fashion designer.
- 15:52Speaker 1: He has his own custom suit collection for men and women.
- 15:55Speaker 3: Another gentleman has owns a travel agency, and then another
- 15:59Speaker 3: gentleman sixty five, he has a habitatary store, one of
- 16:04Speaker 3: a very historic store in uh NORFN, Virginia. And we
- 16:09Speaker 3: just talk about everyday topics, whether it's related to relationship, business,
- 16:14Speaker 3: uh the culture, politics, social issues, I mean with sports.
- 16:18Speaker 3: We talk about it all and it's been a lot
- 16:20Speaker 3: of fun. We're right now in season season two and

- 16:47Speaker 2: me a bone, y'all, He're gonna just throw me. We're
- 16:49Speaker 2: starting incorporate cads. You know, we're gonna we don't let
- 16:52Speaker 2: your own, mister McDonald, We're gonna put your own do
- 16:54Speaker 2: your thing. You know what I'm saying. You know, but
- 16:56Speaker 2: I'm proud of you, man, because you know what what
- 17:00Speaker 2: social media and It's about controlling your destiny. And if
- 17:04Speaker 2: you can't in this day and age, if you can't
- 17:08Speaker 2: step out there and say I want to do something
- 17:10Speaker 2: that I've always wanted to do. I look at your presentation,
- 17:14Speaker 2: it's fantastic. I look at your product.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Now.
- 17:16Speaker 2: When you start developing new products, who do you work with?
- 17:20Speaker 2: Are you working with a chemist, are you working with
- 17:22Speaker 2: a company. How do you go through the process of
- 17:24Speaker 2: developing new products?
- 17:26Speaker 1: Well, I usually I do. I will have I have
- 17:29Speaker 1: a few contexts.
- 17:30Speaker 3: One that's a dermatologist, one that's a trichologist that works
- 17:34Speaker 3: strictly with hair. I'm you know, I'm making my product,
- 17:37Speaker 3: so as far as the testers are concerned, I will
- 17:39Speaker 3: test on myself.
- 17:39Speaker 1: I have a few other different beer types.
- 17:42Speaker 3: I'll have you know, different age groups, white beards, black,
- 17:47Speaker 3: black beers, as far as the inflation of the facial hair,
- 17:51Speaker 3: and that's how I usually test it. And also, you know,
- 17:55Speaker 3: I look around as far as on the market and see, okay,
- 17:58Speaker 3: what are we missing? What is something that a lot
- 17:59Speaker 3: of men ask for when it comes to beard care
- 18:03Speaker 3: or when it comes to something to help you take
- 18:05Speaker 3: care of their beard. So I put that on paper
- 18:07Speaker 3: and then I'm like, Okay, look, this is something I
- 18:10Speaker 3: need to put down and I need to h you know,
- 18:12Speaker 3: start working on and and that's that's how I do it.
- 18:15Speaker 3: That's how I usually create the stuff that helps me
- 18:18Speaker 3: when I'm creating a new product.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Well, the thing that is that the really part of
- 18:22Speaker 2: your life that I really have always been impressed with
- 18:25Speaker 2: is that you're just a regular guy and you've taken
- 18:28Speaker 2: a gift. You know, some people might consider having a
- 18:30Speaker 2: beard at fourteen a curse and because you know you're
- 18:33Speaker 2: gonna get teased and sometimes bullied, you know about having
- 18:36Speaker 2: facial hair and and things like that. And then but
- 18:39Speaker 2: you mature through that through uh, you know, having a
- 18:42Speaker 2: family keeping you focused and also letting you understand that's
- 18:46Speaker 2: not that's not something to be seen as a negative.
- 18:49Speaker 2: And then the whole process of evolving to a person
- 18:52Speaker 2: who's giving back to the community and something that out
- 18:56Speaker 2: of all this negative atmosphere that was going on with COVID,
- 18:59Speaker 2: you decided not to think about yourself last year. You
- 19:02Speaker 2: decided to think about others. What was the inspiration behind
- 19:06Speaker 2: thinking about others and why did it become become important
- 19:09Speaker 2: to do it again for the second year?
- 19:12Speaker 1: Well as you know we would. We are very for sure.
- 19:14Speaker 3: We had our Rugged Evolution Foundation, the back to School
- 19:18Speaker 3: drive we had, we had it in twenty nineteen.
- 19:21Speaker 1: It was a huge success.
- 19:22Speaker 3: We had a goal of giving out two hundred and
- 19:24Speaker 3: fifty backpack still with school supplies. We end up exceeding
- 19:27Speaker 3: that goal to three hundred and like sixty three and
- 19:29Speaker 3: still had extra supplies to hand out to the community.
- 19:33Speaker 2: That's where you come on Money Making Conversations, so you
- 19:35Speaker 2: can just stand your credibility and also let people know
- 19:38Speaker 2: that your brain is available to everybody and not just
- 19:41Speaker 2: available just for a beard, for all type of hair
- 19:44Speaker 2: that's on your phase. But also I'm a testament. I
- 19:48Speaker 2: am a fan. That's why I got my Rugged toile.
- 19:52Speaker 2: I came back and let it got my Rugged tile here.
