- 0:03Speaker 1: Y'all know what time it is. I don't know. Y'all
- 0:09Speaker 1: all soon long looking back to back down, giving them
- 0:13Speaker 1: bung just like the milan buck things. And it's tub y'all,
- 0:19Speaker 1: do me true good? Its the hearty this one to
- 0:24Speaker 1: move to each other for stout, Honey. Why don't you join? Yeah?
- 0:50Speaker 1: Joining me? Honey? Say you gotta turn yeah? Do you
- 1:24Speaker 1: you gotta turn't to turn love? Turn you love? You
- 1:43Speaker 1: got to turn out to turn the water the watery comy,
- 1:58Speaker 1: Come on your things, got it? Uh huh, I sure will.
- 2:04Speaker 1: I good morning everybody you're listening to the voice, come
- 2:07Speaker 1: on dig me now or one and only. Steve Harvey
- 2:11Speaker 1: got a radio show, got a radio show and got
- 2:14Speaker 1: something to say to man. I thank God for it.
- 2:18Speaker 1: I thank God for my life. I thank God for
- 2:21Speaker 1: her in the midst of storms, he calms me. You know,
- 2:25Speaker 1: I was going through another trial in my life. You
- 2:28Speaker 1: know which is life is going to always be that?
- 2:32Speaker 1: You know, it's a it's a I think the things
- 2:36Speaker 1: that I say on the radio, I want you all
- 2:39Speaker 1: understand that I do. So have to put him into
- 2:42Speaker 1: practice all the time. And uh, I was going through
- 2:46Speaker 1: something yesterday and I don't know how long I'll be
- 2:49Speaker 1: going through it, but I'll be fine however long it takes,
- 2:52Speaker 1: because I have something, man, I'm gonna share it with you.
- 2:56Speaker 1: A lot of you got it, but I don't. I
- 2:59Speaker 1: don't think some times we appreciate it until we have
- 3:01Speaker 1: to use it. And and the thing that we got
- 3:05Speaker 1: is prayer. Prayers available to every single person. Prayer is
- 3:09Speaker 1: so important, man, it's so important. I'm not afraid to
- 3:13Speaker 1: say it though. It's so so important to you because
- 3:19Speaker 1: it's such a comfort, it's such an island that you
- 3:23Speaker 1: can go to. I was going through something yesterday and
- 3:26Speaker 1: somebody close to me knew about it, and they sent
- 3:29Speaker 1: me something in the middle of it, and it said
- 3:32Speaker 1: simply that God does not guarantee us a life free
- 3:36Speaker 1: from trouble, but he does promise to be our refuge
- 3:41Speaker 1: in the midst of the storm. See. And that was
- 3:44Speaker 1: so cool for me, because you know, oftentimes I'm on
- 3:46Speaker 1: the radio and I'm talking, and I know you all
- 3:50Speaker 1: think I'm talking to you, but like I said, oftentimes
- 3:52Speaker 1: because I'm just talking to myself, man, because I'm just
- 3:56Speaker 1: like you. I'm just a human being trying to get through.
- 3:59Speaker 1: I happen to come under attack, as does everybody else.
- 4:04Speaker 1: I got trials and tribulations just like everybody else. So
- 4:07Speaker 1: when I'm talking, I'm talking to myself a lot of time,
- 4:10Speaker 1: and all of us are faced with things. But the
- 4:13Speaker 1: beautiful thing. And one of the things I've always said
- 4:15Speaker 1: that on your way to success, that's going to be
- 4:17Speaker 1: our position. I've always said that the road to success
- 4:22Speaker 1: is always under construction. I have always said these things,
- 4:27Speaker 1: but I also have to hear these things. And I,
- 4:31Speaker 1: even whoever I am, and all of us have to
- 4:34Speaker 1: apply these things. And see what I was sitting there
- 4:37Speaker 1: going through it. Man, somebody Texas to me to just
- 4:40Speaker 1: simply said that God does not guarantee us a life
- 4:43Speaker 1: free from trouble, but he does promise to be our
- 4:47Speaker 1: refuge in the midst of the storm. And you know, man,
- 4:51Speaker 1: what prayer enables you to do is have just a
- 4:54Speaker 1: little closer relationship with God. It allows you to form
- 4:59Speaker 1: a barricade when necessary. It allows you to have a
- 5:03Speaker 1: place to go when necessary. It provides you a place
- 5:08Speaker 1: of shelter when it gets real, real windy and real
- 5:13Speaker 1: real funky for you, when the bullets and arrows is flying.
- 5:18Speaker 1: There's a place that you can tuck yourself. I always
- 5:22Speaker 1: like to refer to it as under his wings. I
- 5:25Speaker 1: like to get tucked under his wings when the bullets
- 5:28Speaker 1: and arrows is flying. You know, I do realize Man
- 5:32Speaker 1: through my life, and I've been taught this over and
- 5:34Speaker 1: over and over. Isaiah forty three one and two. That's
- 5:39Speaker 1: someone to the effect that you can walk through the
- 5:42Speaker 1: fire and you will not get burned, normal kindling set
- 5:46Speaker 1: upon your clothing. And what I learned from that scripture, y'all,
- 5:49Speaker 1: what simply is that if you do have this relationship
- 5:52Speaker 1: with God, if you are making an attempt to be righteous,
- 5:57Speaker 1: trying to live your life to the best of you,
- 5:59Speaker 1: ain't stepping on No they're trying to hurt nobody. You're
- 6:01Speaker 1: giving God some glory. You're talking with him. You know
- 6:04Speaker 1: you're making some mistakes along the way. But you know
- 6:06Speaker 1: what I'm saying, You ain't. You ain't just mailing it in.
- 6:09Speaker 1: You are consciously trying to be a righteous person. Then
- 6:13Speaker 1: there's a promise that he gives to you that he
- 6:15Speaker 1: would be there for you. Now here's the promise. The
- 6:19Speaker 1: promise says something just like this, that you will be
- 6:23Speaker 1: able to walk through the fire and not get burned.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Normal kindling set upon your clothing. Now what that means
- 6:31Speaker 1: to me, my interpretation of it real simple. Some things
- 6:36Speaker 1: are going to happen to you, and when they happen
- 6:39Speaker 1: to you, it's not his doing. When when you come
- 6:42Speaker 1: under attack, when you when when when the haters come
- 6:46Speaker 1: from me, it's never his doing. But he gonna walk
- 6:50Speaker 1: with you though, and allow you to walk through the fire,
- 6:53Speaker 1: and you will not get burned. That's amazing, man, because
- 6:57Speaker 1: I got a little fire going on right now. But
- 6:59Speaker 1: guess what, they can't consume me with it, because in
- 7:03Speaker 1: their attempts to do what they do to you, to me,
- 7:07Speaker 1: to anybody is trying to go somewhere, mind your business,
- 7:10Speaker 1: in their attempts to do what they're setting out to do.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Here's a problem with that. Now, if you've got God,
- 7:17Speaker 1: if you use this little weapon of prayer that he
- 7:20Speaker 1: gives you, he'll provides you a refuge, but he'll let
- 7:24Speaker 1: you walk through the fire. You will not get burned. Now,
- 7:27Speaker 1: a part where it talks about won't know kindling set
- 7:30Speaker 1: upon your clothing. That's kind of like if if you've
- 7:33Speaker 1: been in the house that's been on fire before you
- 7:36Speaker 1: know you can walk in and sit on the walls.
- 7:39Speaker 1: It's a smell in the air. You can see the damage.
- 7:44Speaker 1: I mean, the house has been on fire until the
- 7:47Speaker 1: repairs come, the restoration. You can walk in there and
- 7:51Speaker 1: know that there's been a fire. Weeks later, after the
- 7:56Speaker 1: house has been on fire, you can walk in because
- 7:58Speaker 1: you can smell it, you can see the seinge marks.
- 8:03Speaker 1: But here's different houses. You know, I'm talking about just
- 8:08Speaker 1: structural buildings that they don't have ongoing relationship with Gods.
- 8:13Speaker 1: I ain't talking about your temple at church or nothing,
- 8:15Speaker 1: so please don't go there. I'm just telling you a fact.
- 8:17Speaker 1: A house does not possess a soul. A person possesses
- 8:20Speaker 1: a soul. So your relationship with God is it's where
- 8:23Speaker 1: your refugees. So now here we go. When you have
- 8:27Speaker 1: a little walk with God, when you got some faith
- 8:31Speaker 1: in him. Hear what happens to you, y'all when they
- 8:34Speaker 1: come for you, when they attack you. The part that
- 8:37Speaker 1: it says you won't get burned, but the no kindling
- 8:40Speaker 1: that means when it's over, no kindling was set upon
- 8:43Speaker 1: you that are being there won't be no sit on you,
- 8:46Speaker 1: there won't be no seinge marks on you. You won't
- 8:49Speaker 1: smell like you've been on fire. You won't even look
- 8:53Speaker 1: like you've been nowhere near a fire. But the whole
- 8:57Speaker 1: time the fire was raging all around you. But there's
- 9:01Speaker 1: a place that you can go when your life is
- 9:04Speaker 1: on fire, when you come under attack. There's a spot.
- 9:08Speaker 1: There's a spot if you know God, if you if
- 9:11Speaker 1: you're just trying to be righteous, if you just go
- 9:13Speaker 1: over there and get over that, buy him just a
- 9:15Speaker 1: little bit, y'all, if you just send up some earnest
- 9:18Speaker 1: prayers and and pray it and mean what you say,
- 9:21Speaker 1: there's a spot you can go that you can tuck
- 9:23Speaker 1: under his wings, and you will walk through the fire
- 9:26Speaker 1: and you won't get burned. Now he is DEPARTO. I
- 9:29Speaker 1: want you to feel me. Now. It did not say
- 9:32Speaker 1: in there that it would not get unggodly hot. That's
- 9:37Speaker 1: the cold partner. Come on, y'all, because what did I
- 9:42Speaker 1: tell you that to do or text me the other thing?
- 9:45Speaker 1: What did I just tell you? I just simply said
- 9:48Speaker 1: that God does not guarantee us a life free from trouble,
- 9:52Speaker 1: but he does promise to be our refuge in the
- 9:56Speaker 1: midst of the storm. Now I'm in one right now.
- 10:00Speaker 1: But I want you to understand something. When you come
- 10:03Speaker 1: for me, you don't come from somebody that's standing over
- 10:08Speaker 1: there by himself. I have a relationship with him, and
- 10:12Speaker 1: um I use continually on a daily basis, more than
- 10:17Speaker 1: three times a day, that beautiful little gift, that weapon
- 10:21Speaker 1: of prayer that he's given to me. So while a
- 10:23Speaker 1: storm is raging, I want everybody to know I'm just fine.
- 10:27Speaker 1: I'm now, I'm uncomfortable. I don't like it. I do
- 10:32Speaker 1: not like what happens to me, no more than you
- 10:34Speaker 1: like what happens to you. But I got news for
- 10:37Speaker 1: you though I'm so covered, and I stand there in
- 10:40Speaker 1: that place for refuge, man, and I drank that up
- 10:43Speaker 1: and man, today I'm telling you, man, God's promises are true,
- 10:47Speaker 1: that he'll be with you in the midst of a storm,
- 10:50Speaker 1: that he'll hold your hand. God's promises are true. All
- 10:54Speaker 1: you gotta do is lean on him. You feel me,
- 10:57Speaker 1: check it out. You're to save my Good Morning Show.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Twenty one minutes after the hour, Good morning, Sherley Strawberry, Hey,
- 11:06Speaker 1: good morning, Steve Harvey, Happy Friday, calling for Hello, good morning,
- 11:12Speaker 1: It's Friday, Steve Mentoring kicking things off what's going on? Shoot,
- 11:17Speaker 1: morning up, morning everybody and the food watch out then
- 11:22Speaker 1: that Steve, what is going on? Which ya Friday? You
- 11:30Speaker 1: know about the mother? Yeah, mother's dying. There many mothers. Good.
- 11:34Speaker 1: We got our challenges uh um man. We gonna talk
- 11:40Speaker 1: about that later when we have more time. The challenge
- 11:43Speaker 1: it is, but it's going really really good. You know,
- 11:46Speaker 1: boys are here, the mothers are here. All my soldiers
- 11:49Speaker 1: are here from the United States on me. My fraternity
- 11:52Speaker 1: is here, all the fraternities are here, the capitals are here,
- 11:56Speaker 1: to alphas are here. Uh no, no sicking, yeah yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 12:00Speaker 1: yeah yeah, Alex, there's on these two segments. Everywhere there's
- 12:05Speaker 1: only one that can camp. You were in here. You're
- 12:08Speaker 1: all the same too, and y'all just show up everything
- 12:10Speaker 1: just everywhere. We represent baby, but you know, from and
- 12:20Speaker 1: so you know, we're doing really good. My favorite mentor
- 12:23Speaker 1: camp story is a young man uh named Reese who's
- 12:28Speaker 1: eighteen and from the moment he got off the bus,
- 12:32Speaker 1: man this he's been my most difficult, difficult boy to
- 12:38Speaker 1: date to date because yeah, because yeah, this little dude
- 12:45Speaker 1: man yoh yeah, well, Dmitri were nowhere near trouble. He
- 12:52Speaker 1: just had some other But anyway, Um, he was past up,
- 13:01Speaker 1: leaving at all his stuff on the porch, waiting on
- 13:04Speaker 1: a van to come give him. The soldiers already Harvey,
- 13:08Speaker 1: Mr Harvey. We can not get him to conform. And
- 13:12Speaker 1: so he was out there. He was just gonna leave.
- 13:15Speaker 1: They took all the shirts back and I said where
- 13:18Speaker 1: is He said, he's on the porch. I went out
- 13:21Speaker 1: to the porch, said I wait him for one hour.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Reese's back in the camp. Yeah. I do not lose boys.
- 13:33Speaker 1: I don't lose young men. When if a mother entrusts
- 13:37Speaker 1: a son with me, I can't put him on the
- 13:40Speaker 1: bus and send him back like we we can't fix him.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Everybody's fixable, everybody's redeemable. We don't give up on no
- 13:50Speaker 1: boys at this camp. Not a one. We is back
- 13:53Speaker 1: at the camp participate. What was troubling him though, you know,
- 13:59Speaker 1: it's plethora of things. But he was convinced in his
- 14:03Speaker 1: life that if he controls all of his decisions and
- 14:05Speaker 1: he can have the power to say no, I don't
- 14:07Speaker 1: want to do nothing, that that empowers him and enables
- 14:11Speaker 1: him to control his life. But what I had to
- 14:14Speaker 1: teach him was you have to do a series of
- 14:16Speaker 1: things that you're uncomfortable doing in order to be able
- 14:18Speaker 1: to one day do what you wanna do. Come on,
- 14:20Speaker 1: they're not by not by not participating, or you gotta
- 14:25Speaker 1: get real comfortable being uncomfortable. I want to be like you.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Well boy, you guys to get busy. And so that's it.
- 14:34Speaker 1: We're saving boys. Top of the hours, seven o'clock. I
- 14:37Speaker 1: got announcement to make about the Flint situation. Stay tuned, Yeah,
- 14:42Speaker 1: coming up next something fun. You're listening, Steve Hey, y'all,
- 14:47Speaker 1: welcome back uh with j Anthony Brown has come up
- 14:51Speaker 1: with a series of things that he don't want for
- 14:56Speaker 1: farther day. It's the most forgotten day, forgotten what you see,
- 15:04Speaker 1: people don't even take it careless. They could really, I'm saying,
- 15:09Speaker 1: it's not up on me. And I've seen I've seen
- 15:13Speaker 1: some things that they all that they have for dad,
- 15:15Speaker 1: that people will buy that Dad just don't want. They
- 15:19Speaker 1: have a candle that you can buy that smells like fun.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Who wants that? Why would you? Why would you want it?
- 15:29Speaker 1: Why would you want to give your dad? How about
- 15:32Speaker 1: your work? But your dad? If if your dad is baldhead.
- 15:39Speaker 1: You've seen these hats that have hair on them to calls.
- 15:43Speaker 1: He can't grow hair, and why would you give him
- 15:46Speaker 1: a hat with hair on it? That's stupid. There's another one.
- 15:52Speaker 1: It's another one. They have an underwear repaired kid. A
- 15:56Speaker 1: kid a look what the fathers of Father's Day? But
- 16:01Speaker 1: I know your drawings have been a little rain. But
- 16:04Speaker 1: instead of buying new drugs. That's a chilling kid. Never
- 16:11Speaker 1: heard of it? Yes, okay, by your daddy, No damn drawn.
- 16:16Speaker 1: That's say. They have cologne, Steve everybody. They got cologne
- 16:23Speaker 1: that smells like bacon. What why do you want to
- 16:27Speaker 1: smell like bacon? Yeah? Every day? It's like from the world.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Is that bacon that smell? Huh? Daddy already fat? We
- 16:42Speaker 1: know he God. They got this cup that's shaped like
- 16:48Speaker 1: a comoe. Have you seen this slick at the hi
- 16:51Speaker 1: it's a coffee mom. Yeah, why would you? Why do
- 16:55Speaker 1: you want your daddy to have day? You drink coffee? Ye? That? Yeah?
- 17:02Speaker 1: You don't want daddy, don't want no damn ties. Daddy
- 17:07Speaker 1: don't want ties. You got the best gift of all.
- 17:11Speaker 1: You really got a good gift. You really do, man.
- 17:14Speaker 1: You got the best your body was the body wash? Hey, man,
- 17:20Speaker 1: I gotta tie one year with a fish on it.
- 17:22Speaker 1: We know you'd like to fit you even notice your
- 17:25Speaker 1: daddy throw the fish back? You ever noticed that wanted
- 17:30Speaker 1: on my top? Have you gotten like really bad gift? Lime?
- 17:38Speaker 1: Bring shocks before lime was in? Yes, I got lime
- 17:43Speaker 1: is popular now, but back in the day they have
- 17:46Speaker 1: this other thing. It's a shaped like a gun. You
- 17:49Speaker 1: can get a gun. One's yellow, ones red, and it's
- 17:51Speaker 1: a gun that you put mustard in one and catch
- 17:55Speaker 1: up in the other. So come said okay, and they're
- 18:03Speaker 1: selling the problem. Keep enough of a man, right, that's
- 18:10Speaker 1: not so bad for your burgers and the logic logic, logic, Yo, yo,
- 18:21Speaker 1: what you got man? Daddy? I know you don't like
- 18:24Speaker 1: bees out there when you bob killing, So I bought
- 18:27Speaker 1: you a can of wasp and hornets. You brought me
- 18:33Speaker 1: you can use it. Boy. You bought me hunt man
- 18:38Speaker 1: washing hunt game. You know you gotta bike. You got
- 18:44Speaker 1: a computer and iPhone. I got a can of wasp
- 18:47Speaker 1: and horny killing. You work for your bugs. There's a
- 18:56Speaker 1: cologne out there that says it's shaped like a bomber, right,
- 19:00Speaker 1: and so the tagg is dy on the don't even
- 19:05Speaker 1: say that here's the deal. It's Father's Day. Go to
- 19:14Speaker 1: Walmart and give your dad the entire new collection of
- 19:20Speaker 1: built soaps. They come in a bar and they come
- 19:24Speaker 1: in and wash a body wash. And you got frequances
- 19:28Speaker 1: like Big Surf, Big scot Atlantic Surf, you got Prohibition,
- 19:33Speaker 1: you got Havana Bay, you got all types of stuff, man,
- 19:37Speaker 1: all designed by your boy Steve Harvey with the man
- 19:41Speaker 1: in mind. None of that, none of that body wash
- 19:46Speaker 1: that's sound like he's made for girls. For your daddy.
- 19:50Speaker 1: This is called built b I LT. Because it's built
- 19:54Speaker 1: for me. Get your sexy owned ladies. Have your man
- 19:59Speaker 1: smelling like you won't even smell, so you could spend
- 20:01Speaker 1: more enjoyable time with him. Wink wink. Yeah, Walmart, go
- 20:07Speaker 1: to day to Walmart, and I promise you he'll love it.
- 20:11Speaker 1: I promise you will. Father's Building. Yeah, I'm gonna get
- 20:17Speaker 1: to my husband's son. Hey, y'all, I'm telling myself something,
- 20:21Speaker 1: because ain't nobody gonna get me nothing. So Father's Day, honestly,
- 20:28Speaker 1: in Carl, I'm sure you can can attest to this
- 20:31Speaker 1: in some way. But I didn't have a dad, so
- 20:35Speaker 1: Father's Day didn't mean anything to me. It wasn't top
- 20:37Speaker 1: of mind. Yeah, it wasn't. I mean, Mother's Day was
- 20:40Speaker 1: everything to me, So I'm talking about camp. Yeah. Now
- 20:43Speaker 1: I feel what you guys are saying. Dads and you
- 20:46Speaker 1: have children. Yeah, I'm getting nothing. Yeah, I get texts
- 20:50Speaker 1: Happy Father's Day, not even hey dad, you're getting some
- 20:58Speaker 1: build soap. Let me go ahead and just do flight
- 21:00Speaker 1: your hopes. Right now, I'm gonna get some soap and
- 21:09Speaker 1: send it to myself and be surprised when I'm looking
- 21:11Speaker 1: for here, looking for my dad, looking for a car.
- 21:16Speaker 1: You're gonna get it. Yeah. The light came on last week,
- 21:25Speaker 1: Well it's gonna be on this week too. You're gonna
- 21:33Speaker 1: smell good looking at it that much. Okay, So what's
- 21:37Speaker 1: the best gift you've ever gotten? Left alone? We see
- 21:42Speaker 1: we can't win, you know what. Happy Father's Day to
- 21:46Speaker 1: all your father and coming up, coming up next, Tommy's
- 21:52Speaker 1: run that prank back right after this year. You're listening
- 21:57Speaker 1: to Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, y'all be back.
- 22:00Speaker 1: We're back. Tommy's out on vacation again, but we got
- 22:04Speaker 1: his pranks, so we don't need him vacation. We got
- 22:12Speaker 1: enough of your stuff on tample Man, I ain't got
- 22:17Speaker 1: to sit here and here no attitude, he ain't got
- 22:19Speaker 1: shut down, he ain't got the one. I ain't got
- 22:23Speaker 1: to figure out if I'm talking to Eugene old Man
- 22:26Speaker 1: Thomas or you tim me, you're gonna be about to
- 22:31Speaker 1: run that prank back. And then at the top of
- 22:32Speaker 1: the hour, I have my statement about the Flint Flint,

- 26:46Speaker 1: like I said, I'm norm right now, man, I need

- 28:21Speaker 1: is responsible when he going into the restroom. That sounds
- 28:24Speaker 1: like a personal problem. You you too wrong for that
- 28:26Speaker 1: that this is set your wat though this is an emergency. Man.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Man that don't sal in the emergency. That sounds like
- 28:32Speaker 1: a personal problem that you got going on. Come on

- 29:40Speaker 1: Hey man, I gotta ask you man, one more thing.
- 29:42Speaker 1: What is what is the baddest I'm talking about the
- 29:45Speaker 1: baddest radio show in the land, The Steve Harvey Show.
- 29:48Speaker 1: Y'all played practical jokes. So folks man, all right, uh
- 29:52Speaker 1: my cups finally has squashed the beet between he and
- 29:55Speaker 1: Kevin Hart. Finally it's done it. Yeah. We don't even
- 29:59Speaker 1: know how it all start. Did you know how a
- 30:01Speaker 1: beef just gets out of hand? Know what happened? Yeah?
- 30:06Speaker 1: But you know they were exchange jabs at each other
- 30:09Speaker 1: on social media over the past few years. Now the rivalry.
- 30:12Speaker 1: Rivalry is officially over. Glad to report that Mike posted
- 30:17Speaker 1: a video of him and Kevin on The Graham After that.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Kevin jokingly said in the clip that FEDS admitted that
- 30:24Speaker 1: he's bipolar. He said, face to face, man to man,
- 30:30Speaker 1: we are where we're supposed to be. You're listening to
- 30:34Speaker 1: the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Alright, we're back everybody. Hey listen, um.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Two days ago, we were cracking jokes about the You know,
- 30:47Speaker 1: I was playing the broken hearted biddle of another Cleveland.
- 30:53Speaker 1: You wouldn't plays paying no, okay yea to the Golden
- 31:01Speaker 1: State War because a little bit. I'm a huge Calves fan.
- 31:07Speaker 1: A man and I we're talking trash about our teams
- 31:13Speaker 1: and our cities. That just so happened that the man
- 31:16Speaker 1: was from Flint. We got to talk in trash. He said,
- 31:20Speaker 1: Cleveland don't deserve nothing. Wait a minute, hold on, where
- 31:27Speaker 1: are you from, partner? So he said, Flint. Now in
- 31:32Speaker 1: the in the business of trash talking. I don't know
- 31:35Speaker 1: if you've ever been around sports trash talking, but once
- 31:39Speaker 1: you start talking trash, everything is a goal. So I
- 31:45Speaker 1: got the Calves lost. But Cleveland don't deserve nothing. So
- 31:49Speaker 1: I made a joke directed at him. It's he and
- 31:53Speaker 1: I would talk. So he's from Flint, but this is
- 31:56Speaker 1: a city from which I got great affection and respect
- 32:01Speaker 1: and so much so you know that I've devoted a
- 32:04Speaker 1: full hour on my daytime talk show to raise awareness
- 32:08Speaker 1: about to Flint water crisis. I also had Hillary Clinton
- 32:13Speaker 1: on my show shortly after that when she was running
- 32:16Speaker 1: for president, and I pressed her to offer solutions over
- 32:21Speaker 1: what I called on TV and I quote one of
- 32:24Speaker 1: the great catastrophes of modern time. That's what I really felt,
- 32:28Speaker 1: that's in my heart of heart. And I met with
- 32:31Speaker 1: a lot of the people from Flint and we talked
- 32:33Speaker 1: it all out. Well. The caller laughed at my joke
- 32:36Speaker 1: because I told him this was your trash. I talked.
- 32:40Speaker 1: The two things I said about him because he from Flint,
- 32:43Speaker 1: was when last time you took a lead free baar.
- 32:48Speaker 1: But what I'm getting hung up about and what they're
- 32:50Speaker 1: trying to kill me over is I told him go
- 32:53Speaker 1: drinking glass brown water. And I said that, but in
- 32:57Speaker 1: the context of trash talking, I did not say that
- 33:01Speaker 1: is no fresh water in the city of Flint. That
- 33:04Speaker 1: I wish the people are flinting e or harm. I
- 33:07Speaker 1: never said the city of Flint. I was talking to
- 33:09Speaker 1: this one guy that I was trash talking with, and
- 33:12Speaker 1: that was the context. The caller laughed at the joke,
- 33:16Speaker 1: and and it was taken into context that it was offered. Now, folks,
- 33:21Speaker 1: any attempts to craft this into anything else, anything more
- 33:26Speaker 1: than that it serves nobody, no one. Now, if you
- 33:30Speaker 1: just want to make a news story about me, how
- 33:32Speaker 1: about this right here, how about Steve Harvey again, it's
- 33:37Speaker 1: down at the boys camp with two hundred boys with
- 33:39Speaker 1: two hundred mothers. But no, no, no, no, no, no,
- 33:42Speaker 1: no no. That that ain't the news story. The narrative becomes,
- 33:46Speaker 1: this is what he said about our city. That's the city, folks, Flint.
- 33:51Speaker 1: That's what I said about the man that I was
- 33:52Speaker 1: talking trash with. We was talking trash about a sports game.
- 33:56Speaker 1: That's it. That's it. Don't take this no where. This
- 34:01Speaker 1: has got to be And I normally don't address stuff,
- 34:04Speaker 1: but I actually called and you can ask him. His
- 34:07Speaker 1: name is Mike. I called the news director of the
- 34:12Speaker 1: Flint TV station because they started running stories people talking
- 34:16Speaker 1: about boycotting the station. I said, wait a minute. Last
- 34:20Speaker 1: night from the camp, I called him directly, and what
- 34:24Speaker 1: I just said to you, I put it in an
- 34:26Speaker 1: email and send it to him, the news director from
- 34:31Speaker 1: the Flint uh NBC affiliate. M I sent it to him.
- 34:37Speaker 1: I can't do anything more. And in the context of
- 34:41Speaker 1: trash talking, I was talking to this one guy. I
- 34:45Speaker 1: never said the city of Flint can miss me. I
- 34:48Speaker 1: hope all y'all suffer. Ain't what I said, So come on,
- 34:53Speaker 1: y'all really your dude, man, Well, since you a I
- 35:00Speaker 1: sing it, I'd like to point out that, um, we
- 35:02Speaker 1: did try to stop you. You were in the throes
- 35:05Speaker 1: of trash talking with this guy and uh, the guy
- 35:10Speaker 1: I think his name was Kenneth, if I'm not mistaken,
- 35:13Speaker 1: but he did call in and he was talking trash
- 35:15Speaker 1: and you guys just got into it and and and
- 35:18Speaker 1: that's all the trash talking thing o Monday morning. And
- 35:22Speaker 1: we did try to stop. Yeah, we just trying to
- 35:26Speaker 1: stop me, but were talking trash. Yes, you can't stop me. Steve.
- 35:31Speaker 1: We were like, Steve, too far, We're talking trash, right, Yeah,
- 35:38Speaker 1: that's all it was. And it was about sports man.
- 35:40Speaker 1: I just really, hey, you know what if Kenneth he this, Kenneth,
- 35:45Speaker 1: can you call in to the station at seven seven
- 35:48Speaker 1: the dude that called from Flip somebody get kided phone
- 35:51Speaker 1: the phone and Kenneth, did you take court? I said
- 35:54Speaker 1: that await or was it in the context of trash talker.
- 35:57Speaker 1: I just won't know how he felt now, if he
- 35:59Speaker 1: felt bad about how to apologize to it. But I
- 36:02Speaker 1: want him I wanted him to hurt like right, That's
- 36:08Speaker 1: where trash talking is it is. You get you get
- 36:11Speaker 1: carried away with it. You just get caught up in.
- 36:14Speaker 1: I get you in an argument with you and you said,
- 36:16Speaker 1: shut up. Well that's not good when you when you
- 36:20Speaker 1: when you put that out there like that to go
- 36:24Speaker 1: off into he can go off, you can get away
- 36:28Speaker 1: from you. He can't get it. Comedians right, because we're
- 36:35Speaker 1: a comedian. We cannot lose the trash controllers. That's what
- 36:40Speaker 1: it is. You can't out crack me. My crack has
- 36:45Speaker 1: to cut deeper, and you're crack when you gotta draw
- 36:49Speaker 1: a line. He's dring it now, he's running Now is
- 36:54Speaker 1: the problem? Don't the problem? Problem? And I've said it
- 36:57Speaker 1: a hundred times. Problem with the line is eye line
- 37:01Speaker 1: is way further waiting y'all. So when y'all say y'all
- 37:05Speaker 1: cross the line, we need know we was over there, yeah,
- 37:08Speaker 1: because then we're looking at his way way field. Alright, alright,
- 37:14Speaker 1: coming up, we're gonna do. We'll talk about Bill Cosby
- 37:17Speaker 1: when we can. You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 37:23Speaker 1: Are you guys concerned about Bill Cosby? I mean really
- 37:27Speaker 1: concerned did you see Bill, I didn't see it. What happened? Okay,
- 37:31Speaker 1: he channeled, bizarrely, I might add some of his past
- 37:35Speaker 1: magic as he left the courthouse. This was Tuesday night.
- 37:39Speaker 1: This is after a lengthy day of deliberation in a
- 37:41Speaker 1: sexual assault trial. Because we shouted the catchphrase from fat
- 37:45Speaker 1: Albert remember that as reporters shouted questions at him. Here
- 37:49Speaker 1: it is, take a listen, okay, keep Mr Cosby. We
- 38:00Speaker 1: ain't need you, don't need hey, hey, hey, Steve, your thoughts.
- 38:06Speaker 1: Excuse me. I know it's tough for you. See, that's
- 38:09Speaker 1: your friend after the Flint christ I mean maybe he
- 38:22Speaker 1: was calling somebody Hi, Hi, I don't know. He's he
- 38:32Speaker 1: can't say nothing. That's your friend. No, that's your buddy. Man.
- 38:37Speaker 1: That's like me going into court for something. Seriously watch that.
- 38:41Speaker 1: No stop it stop don't because everyone I'm coming out
- 38:49Speaker 1: of court. And they said, Mrs Harber ms hug do
- 38:51Speaker 1: you have a comment, and I go show you look,
- 38:59Speaker 1: show you a little you little to now no not
- 39:05Speaker 1: righting everybody, everybody, no hold of out wolk Be reported
- 39:13Speaker 1: asked me, So it's your hearty, that's your heart. How
- 39:16Speaker 1: do you feel about the verdict? How do you feel
- 39:18Speaker 1: about the verdict? Survey says, this is not the time
- 39:25Speaker 1: for that. How about this come into the stage. Yeah, no, no, no,
- 39:37Speaker 1: it doesn't work, does not work. Not right there, don't know,
- 39:40Speaker 1: not right there? No, don't don't Can we hear that
- 39:44Speaker 1: one more time? Just shock again? No, no, no, no.
- 39:56Speaker 1: And it was a fool one too. It was from
- 39:59Speaker 1: the hit one more ten. No. No, like my grandmother
- 40:12Speaker 1: used to say, no, ma'am. No, man who was who
- 40:16Speaker 1: was standing next to security and police officers and he's
- 40:21Speaker 1: regular entourage. Yeah that normally that would have been a
- 40:26Speaker 1: good time to trackolate. Yeah, I say, somebody shouldn't form tackle.
- 40:29Speaker 1: All right, Hey, should we play one month? Ja, let
- 40:38Speaker 1: me go on. You know what, when you call me
- 40:45Speaker 1: from now, that's gonna be on my phone. All right,
- 40:51Speaker 1: coming up, j Anthony Brown will be here to murder
- 40:53Speaker 1: another hit that's coming up at thirty or four after
- 40:56Speaker 1: the hour. You're listening to Steve Hardy Morning Show. All right, y'ay,
- 41:01Speaker 1: we're back. It's time to get down the business. You know,
- 41:03Speaker 1: we've tried to make this show just a lot more entertaining,
- 41:08Speaker 1: which I think it is, And so folks, thank you
- 41:11Speaker 1: all for riding with us. We got a new theme
- 41:13Speaker 1: song coming shortly. We've adjusted the clock. You all have
- 41:17Speaker 1: responded very well to it, and ladies, gentleman just allows
- 41:20Speaker 1: us to be a lot more ignorant for you so
- 41:22Speaker 1: we can keep you laughing throughout the day. One of
- 41:24Speaker 1: the additions has been this food right here that mixed

- 45:50Speaker 1: What we want? My boat, my daddy's boat. Yeah, they
- 45:58Speaker 1: like Tommy dude, my Daddy's both. Hello, I'm trying to
- 46:12Speaker 1: reach a Mr. Wilson, Please, Mr Wilson, how are you today?
- 46:17Speaker 1: Who is My name is Williams. Well, listen, we've been
- 46:23Speaker 1: getting a few complaints are about some things on your
- 46:27Speaker 1: property there. Uh. Actually I'm with the homeowners Association. Wanted
- 46:32Speaker 1: to reach out and give you a call today. Oh, well,
- 46:35Speaker 1: how are you doing? Pretty good? Listen. UM, got a
- 46:39Speaker 1: few things I kind of want to discuss with you
- 46:41Speaker 1: here that seemed to be uh a problem that's taken
- 46:45Speaker 1: place in the neighborhood there. Um, it's been brought to
- 46:48Speaker 1: our attention down here at headquarters that you have, um
- 46:52Speaker 1: a few things on your property that are are not
- 46:54Speaker 1: functioning that really shouldn't be on the property. Uh. You
- 46:58Speaker 1: have two cars supposedly in your dry five way there
- 47:00Speaker 1: that are not being used, been sitting there for quite
- 47:02Speaker 1: some time. Well, yeah, what what one of them I'm
- 47:04Speaker 1: currently working on. I'm almost I should have it repaired.
- 47:08Speaker 1: I'm just waiting on get wait, wait and get a
- 47:10Speaker 1: little extra money to get to take care of the
- 47:11Speaker 1: other cars just function and I just don't drive. But
- 47:13Speaker 1: I have more than one car. Okay. Now, you you
- 47:17Speaker 1: also have a a a camper that seems to be
- 47:21Speaker 1: has been there for at least eight months now, that's
- 47:24Speaker 1: that's sitting there? Is that correct as well? Yeah? Yeah,
- 47:27Speaker 1: I'm I'm working on getting some storage for that is,
- 47:30Speaker 1: but it ain't really been there eight months, just maybe
- 47:32Speaker 1: around about six seven. You're not in sixth and uh,
- 47:37Speaker 1: you know, I'm looking at our past records and stuff.
- 47:39Speaker 1: It seems like there was a complaint before about the
- 47:44Speaker 1: you know, keeping the yard, uh, pretty cutting all of
- 47:47Speaker 1: that kind of stuff. And I'm just looking at past
- 47:49Speaker 1: complaints that I have here. Now the biggest one that
- 47:52Speaker 1: I have that that's concerning your property, sir, is um
- 47:57Speaker 1: supposedly in your backyard. Now there's a you have an
- 48:00Speaker 1: old boat that's in your backyard. Yeah, yeah, but I
- 48:05Speaker 1: don't see that nobody Well, well, I mean it's it's
- 48:09Speaker 1: it's kind of a sore eye for the people. I think.
- 48:11Speaker 1: I think you guys backyards actually bump up against each other,
- 48:15Speaker 1: and you guys have a chain link fence between the
- 48:17Speaker 1: two of you all, and I think the boat is
- 48:20Speaker 1: must be just a sore eye for the family that's
- 48:22Speaker 1: behind you all. Well, you know, I don't see myself
- 48:25Speaker 1: getting rid of that boat. So I got a cover
- 48:29Speaker 1: on it. Everybody else got a boat. I don't see.
- 48:31Speaker 1: What's the problem is. Well, okay, here's here's what's actually happening.
- 48:35Speaker 1: Mr Wilson. What's gonna take place is this. Now, we're
- 48:38Speaker 1: gonna give you a fourteen day uh extension uh fourteen
- 48:43Speaker 1: days actually to to move the car that is not functioning,
- 48:48Speaker 1: the camper as well, and definitely the boat we need.
- 48:51Speaker 1: We're gonna need those three items. I ain't got. No
- 48:54Speaker 1: we moved boat. I just told you I was working
- 48:57Speaker 1: on so well for stores. Do you know how my
- 48:58Speaker 1: stories called no boat? Now care, I'll get that, take care.
- 49:02Speaker 1: But the boat. The boat, the boat my daddy gave me,
- 49:04Speaker 1: and my daddy gave me that that that's the only
- 49:06Speaker 1: thing my daddy gave me before he died. Now now
- 49:09Speaker 1: I'm not moving that boat nowhere. The boat won't just fun.
- 49:12Speaker 1: If I take you down that to the water, it works, sir,
- 49:15Speaker 1: and I understand it wholeheartedly. You know, I'm basically I'm
- 49:19Speaker 1: just a messenger I have. I'm gonna have to get
- 49:22Speaker 1: the non functioning car that's not working properly. I'm gonna
- 49:25Speaker 1: have to get that out within a two weeks notice,
- 49:28Speaker 1: as well as the camper and definitely the boat. Now,
- 49:30Speaker 1: I gotta get that out. That's gotta be gone. I'll
- 49:33Speaker 1: tell you what I ain't moving. I'll tell you that
- 49:36Speaker 1: what you're gonna do. You gotta either move the boat.
- 49:39Speaker 1: I'm gonna have somebody come over and haul all of
- 49:41Speaker 1: these things away. Well, i'll tell you what. I got
- 49:44Speaker 1: thirteen reasons why you won't go over and touch that boat,
- 49:48Speaker 1: and I got to moan or two to two. I
- 49:51Speaker 1: got thirteen, and then I got another twenty six added
- 49:55Speaker 1: on to that. Why you won't bring now want me
- 49:57Speaker 1: to touch my daddy boat because my daddy gave me that. Well,
- 50:00Speaker 1: I'll be damn any of you. You know, I'm tired
- 50:02Speaker 1: of you with me that cross street because I'm not
- 50:07Speaker 1: at liberty to give you the name who's reported give
- 50:12Speaker 1: me something? Because I know that you eight months and
- 50:16Speaker 1: ain't nobody say so. Why hell y'all me about how
- 50:20Speaker 1: to vote in the backyard of my daddy gave me, sir.
- 50:22Speaker 1: The language is not necessary. The bottom line is I
- 50:27Speaker 1: want to camper out. I want to vote out, and
- 50:30Speaker 1: I want the car that's not functioning moved with them
- 50:33Speaker 1: two weeks or I'm towing it out. I'll tell you
- 50:35Speaker 1: when I give you a personal invitation to come over him,
- 50:38Speaker 1: put the vote, the camp and the car, and I
- 50:43Speaker 1: will beat you like that's what beat you, sir. U Wow,
- 50:48Speaker 1: I'm gonna allow one car to stay. I just want
- 50:50Speaker 1: to make sure that you know that I've given you
- 50:52Speaker 1: the statement over the phone, letting you know that what
- 50:55Speaker 1: what has taken place here will take it. But I
- 50:59Speaker 1: ain't moving my boat. You're gonna move your dad's thinking vote.
- 51:03Speaker 1: I don't bring the loan somebody, sir, trust me, Trust me.
- 51:10Speaker 1: If we come there, we're definitely gonna be bringing authorities
- 51:13Speaker 1: with us. Would go to because I love my daddy,
- 51:16Speaker 1: ain't now want you. I'm gonna touch my daddy boat
- 51:18Speaker 1: that's left me. I got one one thing I need
- 51:22Speaker 1: to say to you, sir about this in situation excuse me.
- 51:27Speaker 1: All I have to say is this. This is nephew
- 51:29Speaker 1: Timmy from the Steve Harvey Morning Show. You just got
- 51:33Speaker 1: pranked by your brother. I got to pull up, all right.
- 51:48Speaker 1: Man's your brother told me and he said, Man, he'd
- 51:51Speaker 1: be going eddie with the homeowner socier. He said, Man,
- 51:53Speaker 1: just call him and tell him he got to move
- 51:56Speaker 1: all this thing, he said, but most of all, tell
- 51:59Speaker 1: him y'all gonna all off that boat. He said, he
- 52:02Speaker 1: had that dog on boat. But I love that they
- 52:06Speaker 1: know that. I got one more question for you, don't, baby,
- 52:10Speaker 1: Tell me is what is the baddest radio show in
- 52:13Speaker 1: the land? All right? He's crazy? Yeah, it is Father's
- 52:23Speaker 1: Day weekend though, Happy Father's Day. Uh, Steve, you're at
- 52:26Speaker 1: the mentoring camp with the boys and any camp having
- 52:30Speaker 1: a great time. Man changing these boys lives, which this
- 52:34Speaker 1: is all about. Man. I wish if the reporters want
- 52:37Speaker 1: to come and report something, you know, they could come
- 52:39Speaker 1: down here and report this. You need some headlines, you
- 52:43Speaker 1: got it? Yeah, this is life changing. This is Yeah,
- 52:47Speaker 1: this is the real work that's being done. This isn't
- 52:50Speaker 1: a joke. And uh, Father's Day is here and I'm
- 52:54Speaker 1: I'm you know what I'm grateful about Father's Day, that
- 52:57Speaker 1: I am a father, that being a father has changed,
- 53:00Speaker 1: you know, on my closing remarks and the I'm gonna
- 53:02Speaker 1: talk about father. What speaking of Father's Day, a great
- 53:07Speaker 1: Father's Day gift, ladies, go to Walmart and by your
- 53:10Speaker 1: husband the brand new built soap collection, by him the
- 53:15Speaker 1: bars and the body wash in all fragrances. You won't
- 53:19Speaker 1: spend forty dollars and it will be absolutely fabulous. Just
- 53:24Speaker 1: go by the whole collection. It would be a great gift.
- 53:27Speaker 1: Get him the Prohibition, get him the Havana Bay Old Havannah,
- 53:31Speaker 1: get him the Big Surf, get him the Big Skies, Mountain.
- 53:35Speaker 1: African Black. What's that African Black about? It just smells
- 53:39Speaker 1: so delicious. And all of these soaps are natural too,
- 53:42Speaker 1: so if you have allergies, you don't have to worry
- 53:44Speaker 1: about it. They're all natural, and it's just a great
- 53:47Speaker 1: brand and it's so affordable, So get at it. Go
- 53:51Speaker 1: at it, man. You know what, I've never heard a
- 53:53Speaker 1: woman say. I've heard men say this before on Mother's Day,
- 53:56Speaker 1: Well why do I have to get her something? She
- 53:58Speaker 1: ain't my mama? But I've never heard never say. I've
- 54:00Speaker 1: never heard women say they always get their their husband.
- 54:04Speaker 1: Lady will call you daddy. It's right, ja. I mean
- 54:10Speaker 1: I ain't even yeah, yeah, he's right, because I ain't
- 54:17Speaker 1: even a father. You've been called daddy yes time. But
- 54:25Speaker 1: I'm working it right though all day, Daddy, big daddy.
- 54:35Speaker 1: You can't even get it out, Marjorie, daddy. Oh my
- 54:40Speaker 1: girl call me daddy. Okay, okay, So since we're here,
- 54:45Speaker 1: what's the thrill in that for a guy to be
- 54:48Speaker 1: called daddy? It's a yes. The room though, Yeah, hunty,
- 54:54Speaker 1: what you say? What you call me? Really? You will
- 54:58Speaker 1: be in the mill and do or something. You go hustle.
- 55:01Speaker 1: All right, Uh, we'll be back with the Strawberry Letter
- 55:08Speaker 1: right after this. You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 55:12Speaker 1: All right, the crazy Strawberry Letter is up next. But first, Steve,
- 55:16Speaker 1: you're at the mentoring camp. Let's talk about your your
- 55:19Speaker 1: Steve and Marjorie Harvey mentoring camp this weekend foundation, and
- 55:23Speaker 1: let's thank our wonderful sponsors who care about our children.
- 55:27Speaker 1: We do want to say thank you for mentoring and
- 55:29Speaker 1: uh for our community you know as a whole, just
- 55:32Speaker 1: giving back. We want to thank Choice Hotels International Steve
- 55:36Speaker 1: Joyce of course every year. Just thank you, Yes, the
- 55:40Speaker 1: U S. Army, thank you, U S Army. Yeah, US
- 55:44Speaker 1: Fish and Wildlife thank you. We want to thank the
- 55:48Speaker 1: Academy Sports and Outdoors and see W. Matthews. Thank you
- 55:52Speaker 1: to our great sponsors. Al right, ma'am. Yeah, who just
- 55:55Speaker 1: gives you know. Yeah, And the camp is great for
- 55:59Speaker 1: these boys. Man, it's such a life changing event. We
- 56:02Speaker 1: haven't lost a single boy this week, not a single boy. Uh,
- 56:06Speaker 1: you know that. It's a funny thing. They come here
- 56:08Speaker 1: with the attitude if they've seen scared straight and they
- 56:11Speaker 1: know how I go, and so they come here with you.
- 56:14Speaker 1: You can't touch me, you can't do nothing. But we're
- 56:16Speaker 1: not trying to do that, man, We're actually trying to
- 56:18Speaker 1: change your life. And if you allow us to allow
- 56:21Speaker 1: you to participate in the program, the disciplinary action activities
- 56:26Speaker 1: that we have, the team building activities that we have,
- 56:29Speaker 1: which are the things that boys have to learn how
- 56:31Speaker 1: to do, you know. And we're teaching a lot of
- 56:33Speaker 1: African American boys. We have whites of Latinos down here,
- 56:36Speaker 1: we got Asian kids down here. But we got to
- 56:38Speaker 1: teach these kids that you really are responsible for your
- 56:41Speaker 1: other brother, that this is not a video game. You
- 56:43Speaker 1: can't shoot these people get a pellet and you get
- 56:45Speaker 1: to keep going. Now, when you shoot somebody, it changes
- 56:50Speaker 1: everything for a lot of people. And when you teach
- 56:53Speaker 1: them teamworking and make them responsible for one another, it's
- 56:56Speaker 1: some of the first times that they've understood it. Wow,
- 56:59Speaker 1: I'm actually nected to this guy that he is not
- 57:01Speaker 1: just another body over there. He's my brother. And for
- 57:05Speaker 1: them to learn it's really really gratified. It really is,
- 57:08Speaker 1: you know. And I'm gonna also thank Choice Hotels because
- 57:11Speaker 1: Choice Hotels helps me on so many levels. Not only
- 57:17Speaker 1: do they provide all the rooms for the mothers and
- 57:20Speaker 1: a lot of the volunteers, they are also have an
- 57:22Speaker 1: awards program where they helped me with the flights. That's incredible, man,
- 57:30Speaker 1: this is the hotel Choice Hopes. Just Steve Jobs, man,
- 57:33Speaker 1: that's my buddy, the U S. Army. But I say
- 57:37Speaker 1: Steve Jobs yead he well, you know, but once again,
- 57:46Speaker 1: let me let me correct that. You know you're talking
- 57:50Speaker 1: about apple hold on tight Strawberry letter, subject so angry
- 58:02Speaker 1: I'm seeing red. Dear Stephen Shirley. I begin this letter
- 58:06Speaker 1: by saying I hate my husband of twelve years. I
- 58:11Speaker 1: feel as though he has made a fool of me,
- 58:13Speaker 1: and I feel stupid. The thought of him makes me
- 58:16Speaker 1: sick to my stomach. When he says I love you,
- 58:18Speaker 1: I want to say, kiss my butt. I'm at the
- 58:21Speaker 1: point in which I don't even care to confront him
- 58:24Speaker 1: for what reason? Another stupid lie? Okay, you can tell
- 58:29Speaker 1: me that he lies to me because I am the
- 58:32Speaker 1: one he doesn't want to hurt. But when he lies,
- 58:34Speaker 1: at which point does a man realize that he is
- 58:36Speaker 1: hurting me? He's still hurting me at this moment. It
- 58:39Speaker 1: is not Uh do I leave him? But how do
- 58:43Speaker 1: I lead? And this is why I am writing you.
- 58:45Speaker 1: I know getting even is not the right choice, but
- 58:48Speaker 1: it would make me feel better. I would like your opinion.
- 58:51Speaker 1: Here's what I came up with so far. Set him up.
- 58:55Speaker 1: I know he is meeting a woman in person that
- 58:57Speaker 1: he meets online. He doesn't even know one of the
- 59:00Speaker 1: women he's talking to is me. Do I talk to
- 59:04Speaker 1: him first, ask him what I am lacking that makes
- 59:07Speaker 1: him look elsewhere? Do I just get my ducks in
- 59:10Speaker 1: a row and walk by the way. I would rather
- 59:12Speaker 1: put a knife in a print of his profile and
- 59:14Speaker 1: put it over his side of the bed while he
- 59:17Speaker 1: is sleeping. What do you think, uh? I say, get
- 59:21Speaker 1: some billboards. That's what we were talking about earlier, anyway,
- 59:26Speaker 1: the latest trend. Right anyway, if you got an extra
- 59:30Speaker 1: two dollars laying around. But my favorite line in this
- 59:33Speaker 1: whole letter is when he says I love you, I
- 59:36Speaker 1: want to say kiss my butt. Wow, that says a
- 59:39Speaker 1: lot about your relationship. You're that angry, You're you're very,
- 59:43Speaker 1: very angry and emotional. You want to get him back,
- 59:46Speaker 1: you want revenge, you want to feel better, you said.
- 59:50Speaker 1: But I gotta ask you, really, is it worth all
- 59:52Speaker 1: of that? Is he worth this? Do you still love
- 59:55Speaker 1: this man? Do you still want a relationship with him?
- 59:57Speaker 1: Can he be trusted? Those are the kinds of question
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: you need to be asking yourself once you calm down,
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: and I get that you're upset right now, I understand this, Uh,
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: I kind of think you are still feeling him because
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: you asked the question do you talk to him first?
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: And do you you want to ask him? What are
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: you lacking in all of that? So if you if
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: there's still some feelings there that you have for this man,
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: go ahead and talk to him. But you gotta ask
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: yourself is he worth all of this? First? Steve Man, Uh,
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: thank you, Shirley nice response to all that. YadA YadA YadA.
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: He go a deal. But I ain't got nothing to
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: say to this, won'tan My notes is all for the man. Oh.
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: First of all, when a woman in a letter opens
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: up by open, let me begin this letter by saying,
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: I hate my hope man. He has no idea the
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: hell he I hate my us. But then she says
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: when he says I love you, I want to say,
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: kiss my boy. That's my favorite plays something to y'all.
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: Let me say this to you right here, right now.
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: The word hate and but cannot go in and sit things.
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: And if a woman hates you, I can assure you,
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: but it's not the word she's using. I hate my husband.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: When he says I love you, I really want to
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: say kiss my whole all of it, put it in
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: a box, and don't miss a corner. My favorite parts.
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: Twelve years she's been made a fool of. She hate
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: him so much you don't even know what he did
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: into three A force of the letter is over. The
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: whole first is about hating hate. She is on fire.
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: I know, getting even ain't right. It's not the right choice,
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: but it would make me feel better when a woman
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: says that you find to get something done to you
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: because it's fending to make her feel better. Because right
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: now listen this message. Is anybody out there who may
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: know this guy, if you even think you know him,
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: if you have a Christian bone in your body, please
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: notify him and tell him. Steve Harvey said, get out,
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: well you can getting out trying to escape because you
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: online talking and one of the women you're talking to
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: is her boy checkmate girl two of Steves. It's coming
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: up at twenty three after the hour you're listening Steve
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. All right, Steve, come on, finish up
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: with your response to part two of today's Strawberry Letter.
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: So Angry I'm seeing red, Steve, I have no nothing
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: to say to this woman because I'm afraid of Yeah.
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: I don't want her to turn none of this on me.
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: This is for the dude that's doing his girl wrong.
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: Listen to me. Hell hath no fury like a woman
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: school at the top of the letter when she said
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: I hate my hood. This is not good for no man.
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: Once a woman utters them words. Here, come the billboards,
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: come the internet. Last, but Steve, she's fed up. I
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: got all that once again, shert. I'm not saying anything
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: to this woman. Just want the fellas. I'll need this
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: in my life. But listen, and I'm serious, No, I'm
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: very serious about this. If you think you know who
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: this guy is, if you have even considered Christianity, please
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: call his brother and let him know. Because see, let
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: me show something. The Strawberry Letter is meant to help

- 1:04:24Speaker 1: This is the first time we've ever had a Strawberry
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: Letter that is exposing a murder plot. This is not
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: what the Strawberry Letter is supposed to be about. It's
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: over here, by the way. I would rather put a
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: knife in a print of his profile and put it
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: over its side of the bed. Why he's sleeping What
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: do you think? Yeah? I take it literally, knife and
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: a print of his profile in his profile. Oh you
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: don't hear it. Hum, she's blowing up some steam, Steve.
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: Come on, blowing off, Steve with a knife in a
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: sheet that you're sleeping under on your side of the bed.
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: The knife is in the print blow all, Steve, take
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: a drink for a walk. That's not how we do it. Steve,
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: Are you scared? Yes, this woman here, I don't want
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: her coming after me. She's fed up with his lies.
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: She sped up with his mess. That's why he somebody noticed. Man. Please,
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: for the love of God, tell him there is a
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: murder plot out for his death. I don't know what
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: y'all think it is, but she set him up though
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: she wanted all. Steve, we gotta go. Thank you, Thank you, sir,

- 1:06:26Speaker 1: You have so many Father's Day Yes, just a regular day. Yeah,
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: you don't want to fabulous things that my father taught
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: me well so much about yo, But this was the
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: one that I've used with my sons and has helped me. Okay,
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: I was. My father says something, and I answered, you know,
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: because if he asked you something, you know, you're supposed
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: to answer, right. But he made a statement after that,
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: and so I made a statement after that. My father
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: stopped and looked at me. He said, what did you say?
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: I said, uh, I don't like that either, because my
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: daddy said he didn't like something, and I said, I
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: don't like that is He said that ain't the way
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: to work. At him, he said, you don't understand. He said,
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: you're going back and forth with me, and I'm sitting
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: that to myself. I said to myself, yeah, because we're talking.
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: I just said it to myself right, very low, very
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: low in my mind and without of fact, like it
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: wouldn't even have registered if my brain was connected to
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: a machine. He said, boy, you you you're going back
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: and forth with me. I said yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: that's what I'm doing because we're talking. That's what talking is.
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: He said to me. He said, let me help you
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: understand how it's work in this house. Right here. We
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: don't do back in foth. We just do foth. And
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: you know, I looked at him like that little dog
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: on ain't commercial hand he said, we don't do back
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: in forth in this house. We just do foth ain't
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: no back, and I went, I'll be damned this dude,
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: right him, it's stillogical. I said that to myself too. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: he's unfair that you ever said this one under your
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: breath and they heard it. Oh you make me so sick.
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: Uh can run away? Mama told me take her came
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: sick to you somebody, Mickey, Mama, don't do that. Oh Shelly,
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: what we got? All right, Steve, here we go. We
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: want you to call our audience call us and asked Steve.
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: This is asked Steve. Asked Steve about some parenting or
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: Father's Day advice. Okay, if you have some uh questions,
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: you want to ask Steve about Father's Day, about parenting,
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: any advice you want from him? Right now is the
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: time eight seven, in seven twenty nine, Steve, we'll be back.
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: All women like for their man to be well grown.
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: So here's what I did. Like, I created this soap
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: called Built. You can get it at Walmart and they're
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: very very affordable. But I made them especially for men,
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: and I wanted to create a men's lines with fragrances
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: and a word that sounded like a man would want
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: a y that a built soap comes in different fragrances,
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: So I created a big sky fragrance. I got African Black,
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: then I got Atlantic Surf. I got South Beach. But
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: my two favorites is Havana Bay and then it's prohibition.
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: Get it. Go to built on Facebook, everybody and ladies
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: go to Walmart. Get him. The whole collection is very cheap.
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: You're listening to morning show. All right, Steve. Let's go
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: to the phone. People want to ask you some parenting questions.
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: You're a good dad and everything. They want to ask
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: your advice. Let's go to line one and talk to
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: Ron out of Virginia. Ron, Hey, man, what's the situation?
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: What you got? My mother been with the same man
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: for forty years since I was eight. I want to
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: give him some special right and I wanted to make uh.
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: I can't give him your dope. I can't. You can't
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: give a man I wanted to get you, but I
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: can't give me. Okay, all right, I rememb We'll get
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: soaked for yourself. Tell me who are you trying to
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: get this phone? Now? My stepdad, who have been in
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: my life. Just I was eight, been with my mother's
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: forty years. Yeah. Now you notice I didn't say me
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: and this is a good gift to give to other men.
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: I said women, you could get this to a man.
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: So how much you want to spend? And tell me
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: that man? Let me help you out about about one?
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: All right? Let me think. Let me ask you a
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: couple of questions from it. Does he work with his
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: hands and see a carpenter? Does he work on cars?
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: Does he have a insurance job? What do he do? No?
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: He works for Bank of American Security? Okay security? Does
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: he play golf? He? Okay? Does he smoke cigars? Does
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: he drink? Okay? Man? Does he drink? Okay? Cool? Here's
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: a great idea for you. Hundred and fifty dollars. Uh,
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: I want I want him to smoke a really mild cigar.
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: What city you live in? Hampton, Virginia? Okay? Cool? Yeah,
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: they got him over there. Just what I want you
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: to buy your father? I want you to buy your
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: father four acid cigars, acid by him? Four acid cigars.
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: Acid cigars have a flavor tip on them, and they're
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: very very smooth smoke ascid cigars. Story, do they have
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: Acid cigars, the Couber Cooba, the Blondie, the Ascid for
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: teen hundred and an extraordinary. They're all good by him
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: four cigars and then buy him a bottle of zakappa
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: Za copper rum comes in real pretty bottle. Man. It's
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: not that expensive if you can get the ex So
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: that's the that's a really really nice rum. That wrong
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: with them foul cigars is a real nice manly gift
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: and bottle is gorgeous. So when he's sitting out, it's
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: a pretty bottles like pyramid shaped bottle with a big
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: wooden top on it, and it ain't that expensive. So
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: you get that in them foul cigars you bought at
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: the one mark. He gonna go, Man, that's a nice
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: gift Sony to get hi, uh Steve, because you put
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: me on hole so I can tell you. I need
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: to give Tommy a message. Man, it's important. Man. Okay,
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: well what's her name? And get the board opper take
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: that message for you, all right? Right, all right, well
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: we'll get to you. Run back to you. Let's go
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: to line too and talk to Aaron out of California. Aaron, Yes, ma'am, Hey, Aaron,
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: good morning, Good morning. Okay, good man. Uh what gonta
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: do for you? Yes, sir, I actually have have a question.
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: It's uh regarded the path of the day. You know.
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: Just just before I get into that, I want to
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: say no Jafany Brown and definitely get addition to the show.
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: You guys got a bunch of stars over there, kind
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: of like the Warriors. You know, I wasn't thought of that,
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: but in the real quick kind of like the war Yes,
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: oh no, you don't know the you don't know who
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: the NBA world. Come on, don't get it right now
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: up there in the stage. But I do have a question, sir.
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: You know, I do know that you know you aren't
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: your father and your mother, you know, and um, my
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: father hasn't necessarily been a father. You know. I'm a
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: father of my daughter, and I'm a stand up guy.
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: I'm there a ntember cent at the time, mine less
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: when I was eleven. Try to come back when I
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: was like twenty eight, and we're on and off, and
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: he would show up and try to be entitled as
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: a father, and I feel like he just a dad.
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: So should I still get him a Father's Day gift
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: and honor him as a father? Even though he don't sell. Well,
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: let me ask you a question. Let me ask you
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: this question right here. Does it serve either of you
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: to not have a relationship with one another? Does it
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: benefit either one of you? No, it doesn't, Okay, And
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: you seem like a good dude, because what you've done
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: is you've instilled of the fatherhood roll in your daughter
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: because you've seen a picture of what it looks like
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: and what it doesn't look like. So you've done the
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: direct opposite of what your father did in your life.
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: That's a true statement. Okay. So with that in mind,
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: he's a man with that has a shortcoming. He has
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: a character flaw when a man doesn't do his daddy duties.
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: And he anybody can be a father. That takes a
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: special man to be a dad. Somebody call you daddy.
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: That's a different thing. So he has a character flaw.
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: But because he has his character flaw and you, now,
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: being a full blown man father and her daddy, you
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: could teach him. You're old enough to teach him. And
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: forgiveness is not for the other person, brother, forgiveness is
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: for you. So if I were you, instead of spending
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: money on it, just send him a card and write
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: down what you feel in the car and give him
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: that for father this day. You ain't gotta buy him
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: a tie, no colo, you haven't spend no money. Get
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: a card and write down how you really feel and
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: what you would hope that the two of you could
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: have before something happened to one of y'all, before y'all
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: leave this earth. That may serve you far better than
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: figuring out what not to get him. Just give him
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: that and it helps. Should I worry about the repercussion,
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: meaning like you know, it'll be like an argument or
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: something like that. I really don't have the energy, you know,
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: check this out. He can't argue with you when you
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: write let him ark. But an argument takes two people.
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: And once he started argument, you could say, look, bro,
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: I said what I had to say that if you
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: don't want to move forward from here, I'm okay with
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: that too, because I'd have made it this far. H
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: hown do your business man. You'll be all thank you,
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: so I appreciate it. Thank you. Happy Father's Day, alright, Steve,
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: great advice. As always. Coming up of the top of
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: the hour, we'll share with you some highlights on Steve's
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: father's Day celebration from his Emmy Award winning daytime talk show.
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: It airs today. We'll be back. You're listening to the
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, Steve, you have something
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: really special on your talk show today. Uh, You're gonna
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: highlight some men who play the incredibly important role of
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: being a father figure two young kids, starring your son
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: in law, Ben Raymond, who is married, of course, to Carly.
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: Ben will share his personal stories of his journey as
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: it is detailed in his new book. He's got a
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: new book. It's called Playing the Game Without a Coach.
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: Take a listen. This is my son in law. He
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: just finished his first book all about his life call
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: Playing the Game Without a Coach. Please welcome Ben Raymond. Look,
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: I mean, you know we've had many talks about all
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: of this, but I didn't know someone that I saw
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: on the tape. Man, it was pretty powerful. How how
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: did you? How did you find the strift to not
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: give up? I think for me, ultimately, uh, many dark days,
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: many days where I always asked myself and was wishing
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: for a better life. You got to find the opportunity
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: within the opportunity, and I think sometimes the biggest opportunities
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: are are those in those darkest moments, And I think
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: that's that that was the charge and ultimately through my
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: life learning forgiveness. You know, always ask myself, you know,
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: why me? You know, my mother bipolar schizophrenic, lost me
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: in foster care at six months and then gets me
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: back and I go house to house and my father
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: is nowhere to be found, and my stepdad goes to jail.
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: And I think for me, I had to ultimately forgive
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: those closest to me, but more importantly forgive myself, quit
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: blaming myself, and ultimately use that as a stratos for
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: stratosphere to reach greater heights. Some of your hardest days
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: though as an adult happened a few years ago. What happened?
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: You know, um, A lot of folks know my journey
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: finding my father. So I'm at seven years old and
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: didn't see him again for twenty years, find found him
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: in federal prison on the internet search and during that journey, UM,
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: where some of the greatest days when he got released.
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: He got released two years after the day that I
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: found him, after doing you know, fifteen years in prison
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: and got to take you know, game go and take
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: him to the Cowboys game, spending a lot of time,
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: but ultimately my father went back into the system. You
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: got sentenced for twenty five years in um at one
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: of the biggest moments of my life. I had just
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: recently got engaged and I was looking forward to him
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: being at my wedding, and for me, I went through
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: a period of time. I was just angry. You know,
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: why did I go through this journey? You know, why
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: me again? You know, I find this man who I
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: love and now he's gone. But in that journey, I
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: found out that I had a sister. I never knew
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: I had. You know, for twenty seven years I was
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: walking on this earth. I never knew I had a sister.
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: She knew about me, but I never knew about her.
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: And if I didn't find my father and go through
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: that journey, ultimately forgiving my father and I love my
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: father today. In fact, my sister and I we're gonna
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: visit my father right around Father's Day every year and
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: we'll be we'll be seeing him again and continue that
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: that relationship because you know, ultimately, you know that is
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: my father and I love him. Well. Your sister, uh
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: Devita is here, where's the Vita Heyvia, when when did
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: you being connected me and been connected ten eleven years ago.
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: He actually drove down to Tennessee to come see me. Um,
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: just seeing I always knew about being my whole life.
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: My dad always told me about him, So actually getting
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: the chance to meet him, I was super excited just
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: seeing him, tall, light, bright, big lips. I was like, Yeah,
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: that's my brother. Even though we were apart that long,
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: I felt like I knew him forever, like we to
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: this day. We have like a great connect and I
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: feel like I'm called Ben, you know for anything. I'm
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: sure he feels like you can call me for the same. Wow.
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: That's that's that's such a you know, and it's it's
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: a lot of stories around the world like that, especially
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: in this country, you know. But it's it's it's sort
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: of it's really crazy. When you hear it though, and
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: you see somebody, you go wild. I've had a I've
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: had a sibling somewhere my whole life that I never
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: knew about, you know, and then you find them. All
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: of that's compelling to finding your dad. Okay, tell everybody
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: why you decided to write the book, Well, you know,
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: for me, the journey, Um, was some of the darkest days,
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: and I found myself for so many years, you know,
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: trying to figure out if I made it. You know,
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: I wanted to help somebody. I always will be that
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: guy that was mentoring kids, are working with people, and
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: people will come to me for advice. I never knew
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: my story was powerful. I mean I was the person
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: that was ashamed of my story for so many years.
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: You know who's gonna walk up and say, hey, my mom,
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: is my polars gets in front of my dad's you know,
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: in order to be found. You know, your stepdad's in jail.
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: You you're embarrassed. For so many years, I was a
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: star athlete, but on the inside is broken and I
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: always wanted somebody who looked like me, you know, who
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: could mentor me. And I didn't have that. And I
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: feel that playing the game without the coaches that book
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: that can help anyone. Doesn't matter where you come from,
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: doesn't matter who you are um but ultimately your opportunity
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: is the one you find and the one you sees
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: he's got a great story. I wanted everybody to stick
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: around because being is gonna be revealing. How having a
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: son of his own who happens to be my grandson.
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: A little b J has changed his life and that's
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: not all. B J has turned in one. This is
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: his birthday and so we're gonna be celebrating and everybody's invited,
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: so don't go away. Uh you know. I think that
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: his story in the book. I think it's a great
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: book for single mothers that's raising boys without a father
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: in their life. You can go to Amazon dot com.
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: You can go online. I think to Being Raymond dot com.
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: How do you how do you find it? I think
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: that's it. I am Being Raymond dot com. Go to
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: I am Ben Raymond dot com and order the book.
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: It could be a great reading for your son to
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: understand what that's like. So, you know, and I think
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: that him sharing his story can help other single mothers
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: who had these boys who are feeling all these different
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: emotions about not having a father in the life. And
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: that's what this whole manory and campus about being is
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: down here with me this week. My daughter is here,
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: serving both of my daughters, my son works, uh Junior,
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: and all these cats. Man. I mean, it's a great program.
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: We're down here working changing boys lives, not giving up
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: on anybody not giving up on anybody. And that's that's
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: what it's all about. And so you know, I love
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: Ben saying how much he loved his dad. That that
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: just warmed my heart. Was he still loves his dad.
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: You know that that means something. But um, anyway, Happy
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: Father's Day, you know, because for the fathers who are
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: there for their kids. You know, Happy Father's Day to
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: you to the father's who are taking care of kids.
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: And to those mothers man who raised their sons without
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: the dad's thank you for being able to bring him
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: to the kid. You know, you know what I mean.
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: They intrust their kids destinate. They're hoping that we can
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: help them. And that's all the program is about. You know,
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: tough love down here, but it's mostly love and uh,
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: it's been very very effective. So that's it. We've got
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: a great camp. Happy Father's date man, you're listening to
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, gee, thanks dad, this
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: is just in time for Father's Day. Matthew Knowles says
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: Beyonce's weakness is public speaking. Uh. Matthew Knowles recently spoke
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: at Howard University. He's Beyonce's father, of course, and form
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: a manager. He explained to a young group of students
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: the portins of knowing your artists weaknesses. According to Knows,
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: knowing his artist strengths helped him as a manager, and
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: he used his daughters as examples. Everyone thinks that they're
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: the greatest, and and they should, he explains. As label executives,
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: we have to know the limitations of the artists. See,
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: I would never have Beyonce up here public speaking. She's
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: not good at it. Meanwhile, Solange, Yeah, that's what he said.
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: That's what he said about his own daughter. You know
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: that she's not good at it. Um. I mean, but
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: there are a lot of people. I mean, you ask
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: people what's the number one thing that they're afraid to do,
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: and so many people say that they're afraid public speak
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: public They don't like to get up in front of
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: a crowd and speak. That's one of their biggest fears,
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: the biggest fears. She's probably one of the, if not
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: the greatest living performer of our time right now. That
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: girl's show is amazing. But I don't I don't. I
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: don't know if he meante the way it's coming across,
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: I don't know, I do there's no benefit to use her,
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: I guess because she's famous. Used her as an example.
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: But once you started talking about other people's shortcoming, you
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: didn't have to turn around and talk about Hill. Yeah.
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: I don't know that. I'm not sure. Maybe he didn't
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: mean it like that. He came out, yeah, like what.
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: But you know, she's been a star since she's been
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: a child too, so she's you know, been fifteen years old,
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: so she's probably had not you know, didn't have a
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: lot of but you know what, sopic speaking may not
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: be strong. She's a problem. And that's when how many
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: people can't speak. I don't want to do that, and
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: how many people are afraid to do it? And don't
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: I mean you remember when she was with the group,
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: Kelly would do most of the public speaking, but when
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: Beyonce would say something, it would be good. I mean,
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: it wasn't. It wasn't. I don't like it. I don't
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: like you know, I mean comedy doing comedy and then speaking,
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: it's just for me, it's totally different, different. And I
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: watched Steve doing it over and over, I because I
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: know I'm gonna cuss. So he's brilliant at it. Though,
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: is Steve really is he really has that in factor
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: because he can do and he's a good listener to
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: so even in interviews sometimes he's a good listener. Sometimes
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: he's a good listen sometimes yeah, well he's out standing
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: on a TV sit right now that is my real life.
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: But sometimes you can listen like he's listening now to
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: say something right, listen to speak. But I think it
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: does sound like Matthew Knows was talking about himself as
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: a manager. As a manager, you have to know what
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: your weaknesses are. You know, he didn't have to like
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: you know out there like that about Beyonce. Turn that
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: music on and watch what happened? Baby. He's probably speaking
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: when you got all this, you know you can hire
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: some well she spoke well when she said, you're not
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: gonna be my manager anymore, dad father. But anyway, I
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: mean everybody has weekends. Everybody has stuff that they don't
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: like to do, or that they as a family said
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: anything about to comment or because I don't think they're
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: just baby watch right now, Steve, Yeah, I think they
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: really ain't got time for that. But Matthew is not
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: a mean guy towards his key now, you know he
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: said anything. I don't think Matthew knows or say anything
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: mean or nasty about children. I've never seen him do
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: that before. So baby was just taking the wrong away,
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: you know. All yeah, he still heard daddy. You're listening
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: Morning show. All right, we're back, We're back. Hey, Father's
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: Father's Day weekend is this weekend. Don't forget your Dad's
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: I know it's not as big as Eastern Christmas, Thanksgiving,
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: fourth of July, More Day, Labor Day, Valentine's dayDay, another's
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: day's right, you know, gunho holiday groundholiday as big as
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: any of those days, like dad, not, it's not. It's
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: not great, not to my husband or nets though. Too
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: happy with your Father's Day, Father's Day. I'm saying right there,
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: you'd rather have his birthday to get his man a
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: damn Father's Day, Father's Day every year every year. But
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: surely okay, happy Father's Day to my husband. Times throw out.
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: That's the shame. And ladies, a great gift for your
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: husband is Built soap this year. It's a new soap

- 1:32:36Speaker 1: sporting equipment, golf clubs, you know some golf ball? What
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: what did you look worried about my jaw? Dude? A
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: bunch of some sunscreen? Hey hey, no, nothing came by
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: a man, nothing would care? No, come on now, no,
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: you can give him some off glove. You can get

- 1:33:17Speaker 1: I don't don't know my prescription dogs in my eyes.
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: It's gonna take it with my eyes fall. It's gonna
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: take you away to jokes right there, blind as I
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: got one. Here's we give this to each other all
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: the time, ladies. How about this a coupon to the spa.
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: All right, we'll be back to close out this show.
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: You're listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, y'all
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: be back time for just one more thing. I've been
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: a great week, man, great week. Oh yeah, it really
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: really has. It's been a great week. Tommy's been great.
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: You know what. We got him, We got a breaks,
- 1:33:58Speaker 1: We got him good. We're good sending pictures zip like
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: I wish Tommy was zip lining and the zip line
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: fake like it to break this is you know, don't break,
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: you know, like snap, I am doing it. Tommy's father's
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: her father, Quiet Jrs. Going in fatherhood. Thank you? Hey,
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: you know so I'm gonna tell you something I feel
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: about fatherhood I'm thinking of. I don't know that I
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: speak to all men, but I do think that I
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: can speak for a great deal of me, and I
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: think that fatherhood for me and a lot of men,
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: it's challenging, it's daunting, but it's rewarding. And I think
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: those of us that have taken the time out to
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: attempt to be not only good fathers, but good dad's,
- 1:35:06Speaker 1: it takes a lot. It takes a lot, especially when
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: you count yourself as one of those fathers who are
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: responsible for the welfare of your family. And that's a
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: big challenge for a man, and especially for men who
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: have grown up without seeing that as an example in
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: their life. It's a lot tougher for these guys when
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: they haven't had a close up view from a man
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: on how to be. And most of them turn out
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: to be great fathers because they do the direct opposite
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: of what their father did to them. They just do
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: the opposite, and that's a blessing. It's kind of like
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: similar to what my father always told me. My father
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: always says, son, listen to me. Knowing what not to
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: do is just as good as knowing what to do
- 1:35:59Speaker 1: because it can save you a lot of pain. But
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: there are so many great fathers out there. Like we say,
- 1:36:05Speaker 1: Father's Day is not as big as Mother's Day, and
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: we understand why, of course, and I don't think it
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: should be. A mother is totally different. Man. She gave
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: us life, she bore us, she brought us into this well,
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: she carried us, she nurtured us, she helps us. But
- 1:36:20Speaker 1: my hat goes off to the fathers out there that
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: is doing the right thing, those fathers out there that's
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: going to work, that's making it happen for their fund,
- 1:36:28Speaker 1: for their family, and being a great father and a
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: great dad. Ain't got nothing to do with how much
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: money you make. It's how much time you put in,
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: what percentage of yourself you give to others. Often teach
- 1:36:40Speaker 1: my sons that you will not know what manhood truly
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: is until you love somebody more than you love yourself.
- 1:36:48Speaker 1: You'll know what manhood is all about when you love
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: somebody more than you love yourself, When you would lay
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: down your life for the life of your children, your family,
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: your wife, that's manhood. Now I'm not saying you're not
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: a man because you don't have those things, but the
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: epitome of manhood, the totality of the totality of it all,
- 1:37:10Speaker 1: it's when you love someone more than you love yourself,
- 1:37:14Speaker 1: when you are responsible and the caretaker of them all.
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: My hat also goes out to the fathers out there
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: that's being daddy's to children that ain't yours. I said.
- 1:37:27Speaker 1: My hat also goes out to the fathers out there
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: that's being daddy's to children that ain't yours. And you
- 1:37:34Speaker 1: women out there who are fortunate enough to have found
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: a man who loves yours, who loves yours like they're his. Man. Man,
- 1:37:44Speaker 1: oh man, oh man, what a blessing is that? Because
- 1:37:48Speaker 1: the father that's supposed to be being a daddy ain't
- 1:37:51Speaker 1: being a daddy. And this man to stepped in and said, hey,
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: put that weight on my shoulders too. I got you,
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: and I got everybody connect it to you. That's a
- 1:38:01Speaker 1: hell of a dude right there. And it's a bunch
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: of them out there, man, it's a bunch of them
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: out there who just put that thing called manhood on
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: and fatherhood and daddy hood and wear it and no
- 1:38:15Speaker 1: matter what come with it, they wear it. My hat
- 1:38:18Speaker 1: goes off to father's everywhere. Man. God bless all of you.
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: Man that may I offer just a personal piece of advice.
- 1:38:28Speaker 1: Whether it's going good for you or it's going tough
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: for you, if you include God in it, it'll go
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: better for you. That's for show. You need God to
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: be a great father. You mean God to be a
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: great dad. You need God to be the man that
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: you want to be. It's tough out there, but y'all
- 1:38:50Speaker 1: do keep your head up. It's uh this Sunday. Happy
- 1:38:53Speaker 1: Father's Day, Jay, Happy Father's Day, Tommy at Father's Day,
- 1:38:58Speaker 1: Steve Harvey, Happy Father's Day to all the men out there, man.
- 1:39:05Speaker 1: And one last day. If you are a father but
- 1:39:10Speaker 1: you are not being a dad, this would be a
- 1:39:13Speaker 1: good time to step up. It's okay to say to
- 1:39:17Speaker 1: your children, I'm sorry, you know what. I made the
- 1:39:20Speaker 1: mistakes at my daughter's wedding after the dance, and I
- 1:39:24Speaker 1: couldn't let her go, and we were standing in that crime,
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: and it was time for me to give a speech.
- 1:39:28Speaker 1: Part of my speech was I had to apologize to
- 1:39:32Speaker 1: my daughter Brandy and call it for not being there
- 1:39:35Speaker 1: when they were small. I said, I made a lot
- 1:39:38Speaker 1: of mistakes as a young man, but I spent all
- 1:39:41Speaker 1: my life trying to make up for that. Sometimes you
- 1:39:44Speaker 1: get it wrong and God wakes you up and gives
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: you a chance to get it right. So for those
- 1:39:50Speaker 1: of you out there that ain't been doing it right,
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: it's time for you to get it right. Tell him
- 1:39:56Speaker 1: you're sorry, Tell him you made a mistake. But moving forward,
- 1:40:00Speaker 1: you wanted to be different and see how I go.
- 1:40:04Speaker 1: But if you're a father, God don't release you the
- 1:40:07Speaker 1: responsibility of being a dad. Happy father, Steve. Wow, Steve,
- 1:40:14Speaker 1: that was great. That was good. Yeah, man, you won't
- 1:40:18Speaker 1: take me time. That was impressive. I like what you said,
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: meaning it's never too never too late to be a dad. Y'all.
- 1:40:30Speaker 1: Have a great weekend is here, I'm going on vacation.
- 1:40:33Speaker 1: I'm gonna get it done. We hold you down, Steve,
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: We'll hold you down. For all Steve Harvey contests No
