- 2:19Speaker 1: Hair and popped up personality, My girl and Barrel. How
- 2:22Speaker 1: are you doing? And Hi? How are you great? Great? Uh?
- 2:30Speaker 1: And I'm telling you know, with this pandemic, I've been
- 2:32Speaker 1: watching a lot of food okay being cooked on the
- 2:36Speaker 1: and it's great to have you back on the show.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Tell us about this new season that's coming up. You know,
- 2:40Speaker 1: I know some bad cooks before you get started? How
- 2:43Speaker 1: do they do? You know how they select these bad
- 2:45Speaker 1: cooks who are celebrities. Well, I think that they they
- 2:50Speaker 1: nominate themselves. Either they nominate themselves or someone they know
- 2:56Speaker 1: nominate them. And it's so funny whenever we do the
- 3:00Speaker 1: celebrity edition, I'm like, oh, looks celebrities. They're just like us.
- 3:03Speaker 1: They don't know how to cook either. Do. We tend
- 3:08Speaker 1: to put them on a pedestal of specially talented people
- 3:11Speaker 1: like superheroes, and we realized they don't have they have.
- 3:14Speaker 1: They lack the same skills a lot of everyday people lack.
- 3:17Speaker 1: It's almost like you're lying that can't be true, but
- 3:20Speaker 1: it really is, and you've seen it over and over again, Yes,
- 3:26Speaker 1: I sure have. And you know it's so funny because
- 3:29Speaker 1: I think sometimes the steaks are even higher for celebrities
- 3:34Speaker 1: because they're used to having their you know, their celebrity
- 3:38Speaker 1: be the face of what America sees or you know,
- 3:42Speaker 1: the world sees, and when they get into the kitchen
- 3:46Speaker 1: in our boot camp on Worth Cooks, there is no celebrity.
- 3:51Speaker 1: The stove doesn't care if you're a celebrity. They don't
- 3:54Speaker 1: care if you're not. The stove is the great equalizer
- 3:57Speaker 1: and they're not playing a part. It's it's you know,
- 4:00Speaker 1: it's real and it's exactly what is that person going
- 4:04Speaker 1: to do at the stove? And so sometimes I think
- 4:08Speaker 1: celebrities don't realize, um, exactly how real and how hard
- 4:14Speaker 1: this show is. And I'm like, I don't care if
- 4:17Speaker 1: I'm a fan of that celebrity, I'm still going to
- 4:20Speaker 1: teach them how to cook, just the same as if
- 4:23Speaker 1: I would teach anyone else how to cook. So, um,
- 4:27Speaker 1: it gets you know, it's really something very difficult and
- 4:30Speaker 1: very hard that we asked them to do, but they
- 4:33Speaker 1: come out of it the other on the other end
- 4:35Speaker 1: being like, Wow, I really learned so much and I
- 4:40Speaker 1: will have these skills now and I really appreciate everything
- 4:43Speaker 1: that I've learned here. Well you have this season Recruso,
- 4:47Speaker 1: Will Will's Adams, Johnny Bananas, David Coolier who's a comedian,
- 4:52Speaker 1: very talented comedian right away and also from a family
- 4:56Speaker 1: times family, family matters right, and um, I think it
- 5:00Speaker 1: was full house, full house, that's right, a different show.
- 5:03Speaker 1: I apologize, I got a kids just the family. Man
- 5:07Speaker 1: was the black family, the family of kids. Let me,
- 5:12Speaker 1: let me give out racial barriers to get get game
- 5:14Speaker 1: playing together and uh Bridget Everett Robert Gibbets you know
- 5:18Speaker 1: famous actress and uh Sanja Sanja Sonja Morgan and Brian
- 5:26Speaker 1: what is what is Briant's last name? B O s
- 5:30Speaker 1: E h E. And I couldn't I want him say
- 5:32Speaker 1: that publicly because I don't want to mess it up.
- 5:34Speaker 1: So he was he cracked me up. He was really
- 5:37Speaker 1: quite somebody. Um, he was kind of like to me,
- 5:40Speaker 1: he was like, you know, do you know what a
- 5:42Speaker 1: sloth looks like? That moves? So I really enjoyed him.
- 5:53Speaker 1: I actually really enjoyed everybody. And I really thought that,
- 5:57Speaker 1: like Johnny Bananas was going to drive me in saying
- 6:00Speaker 1: because he you know, he's over the top outrageous. Um.
- 6:05Speaker 1: But I really I really did appreciate him. Sonya Morgan.
- 6:09Speaker 1: I mean there's a lot going on with her. I mean,
- 6:14Speaker 1: I just I want to know how many people are
- 6:17Speaker 1: in her head with her very grouded there right. Well,
- 6:20Speaker 1: you know the thing about it is that this is
- 6:21Speaker 1: what I've learned from the show is that they really, um,
- 6:26Speaker 1: I want to learn how to cook. They really, I
- 6:29Speaker 1: don't know how to cook. And there is a degree
- 6:32Speaker 1: of embarrassment because they don't know that they've realized they
- 6:35Speaker 1: are that bad. Because you know, people can tell you
- 6:37Speaker 1: can't cook, and you used to go to the restaurant
- 6:38Speaker 1: and buy some food. But when you on camera and
- 6:41Speaker 1: you're and you put under demanding schedule to produce, that's,
- 6:45Speaker 1: like you said earlier, that's when the reality hits you.
- 6:48Speaker 1: I really am bad. But I don't want I don't
- 6:52Speaker 1: really want to be this bad on film on tape, right.
- 6:57Speaker 1: I mean, it is a big fat, goes hungbullpie that
- 7:01Speaker 1: I serve up to them. Um. And but you know,
- 7:05Speaker 1: like it's it's done with the best intentions, like what
- 7:10Speaker 1: I like to call tough love that you know, we'll
- 7:13Speaker 1: laugh about it, but I'm gonna be honest with them
- 7:15Speaker 1: too that like, this wasn't your best um situation that
- 7:20Speaker 1: you've done here, but um, you've also improved in this
- 7:24Speaker 1: in this in this way. So I'm honest but also encouraging. Well,
- 7:29Speaker 1: here I'm talking to Amberill. Food Networks Worst Cooking Work
- 7:33Speaker 1: Cooks in America Celebrity Edition. It's a prime time show
- 7:36Speaker 1: where and leads a team of hopeless celebrity cooks from
- 7:39Speaker 1: around the country through I Guess Cool and they boot
- 7:42Speaker 1: camp in. You know they come in there, did you
- 7:44Speaker 1: guys give them do your half a mile here? And
- 7:46Speaker 1: do you let them know what they may they may
- 7:48Speaker 1: be cooking at everything you just told when they get there. Nope,
- 7:52Speaker 1: we give them. It's everything. I mean, I it's my
- 7:56Speaker 1: mission to keep this show as a real as it
- 8:00Speaker 1: possibly can can be in terms of a reality show.
- 8:04Speaker 1: So they don't know what's coming ahead, they don't know
- 8:07Speaker 1: what their next challenge is going to be. Um, you
- 8:10Speaker 1: know they they we but in that vein, we do
- 8:15Speaker 1: everything that we can to make sure that we teach
- 8:18Speaker 1: them everything that they need to know. It's not like
- 8:21Speaker 1: we try to trick them and give them stuff, you know,
- 8:24Speaker 1: to make them look worse. Like I give them every
- 8:28Speaker 1: piece of information they need to know. Um as I
- 8:31Speaker 1: tell them, you know, I will give you all the
- 8:33Speaker 1: tools you need to use to be successful. It's up
- 8:36Speaker 1: to you to pick them up and use them. It's
- 8:39Speaker 1: finally here, the season of celebration, and no matter how

- 10:35Speaker 1: E R dot ai. Okay, some people are better than
- 10:39Speaker 1: that and others. Okay. Now, now there's a payoff of
- 10:43Speaker 1: the most improved star left standing at the finale. When's
- 10:47Speaker 1: twenty five dollars for the charity of their charge and
- 10:50Speaker 1: bragging nights, bragging rights for their for their team and
- 10:53Speaker 1: so so. So that's the payoff. You know, they get
- 10:56Speaker 1: through the boot camp and they get to give this
- 10:58Speaker 1: twenty five dollars to their charity and so. But but
- 11:02Speaker 1: it's still entertainment. It still is a learning curve for
- 11:06Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you and you're you're I'm a big
- 11:09Speaker 1: fan of yours. You have taught me many times as
- 11:12Speaker 1: far as because you know, I know how to bake
- 11:14Speaker 1: now I'm award winning baker. But cooking is you know,
- 11:17Speaker 1: you have to be on your game when you cook,
- 11:20Speaker 1: and so because you know you can't know, you know
- 11:22Speaker 1: you can't make any mistakes. Really, you've gotta be on point.
- 11:25Speaker 1: So as a leader, as a person who's famous for
- 11:29Speaker 1: a famous share for famous personality, what do you find
- 11:32Speaker 1: the most difficult part of hosting this type of show? Well, um,
- 11:38Speaker 1: I mean, you know when people come in and they're
- 11:41Speaker 1: going to be a prima donna in the kitchen. That
- 11:43Speaker 1: just doesn't go well with me. They have to like
- 11:46Speaker 1: just say it's gonna have to check their egos out
- 11:48Speaker 1: the door. UM. And that sometimes is a little challenging
- 11:53Speaker 1: for people, UM or you know, celebrities mostly UM. But
- 11:59Speaker 1: I feel like it's it's when I say things over
- 12:03Speaker 1: and over and over again and people still don't like
- 12:06Speaker 1: listen or pay attention. I'm like, I'm gonna do everything
- 12:10Speaker 1: I can to teach you, but it's gonna be it's
- 12:13Speaker 1: you know, I can only take you fifty percent of
- 12:15Speaker 1: the way there. If you're not going to bring your
- 12:18Speaker 1: fifty percent to the table, then you're just you're there's
- 12:22Speaker 1: not gonna be any room for you left here. That's really,
- 12:25Speaker 1: that's really because you know, let me say this about
- 12:30Speaker 1: the show. What I see and I enjoy about you
- 12:32Speaker 1: being host because I do see real emotion from you,
- 12:35Speaker 1: I see real passion. I don't see your real authentic
- 12:38Speaker 1: on the show. You know, you if you don't want
- 12:40Speaker 1: people to come on the show and kind of like
- 12:42Speaker 1: fluff this or play games, because the fact that the
- 12:45Speaker 1: reality is there are other people on the show who
- 12:47Speaker 1: are serious about trying to compete for this twenty five
- 12:49Speaker 1: dollars And if you're gonna be a primadonna, why did
- 12:51Speaker 1: you want to do the show anyway? You know, you
- 12:53Speaker 1: know this is not Dancing with the Stars. You know,
- 12:55Speaker 1: this is you know, people watch the show, they learned
- 12:58Speaker 1: from the show I'm talking about as a as a
- 12:59Speaker 1: view or I watch and learn I learned from bad technique.
- 13:03Speaker 1: I learned from good technique. You know this is a
- 13:05Speaker 1: bad version of what I'm saying. So but you learned,
- 13:09Speaker 1: Oh I didn't know you could do that that way?
- 13:10Speaker 1: That was I've been doing that way too, that was
- 13:12Speaker 1: wrong as well. So I've learned to fix some problems
- 13:15Speaker 1: that I've been getting away with incorrectly in the kitchen
- 13:19Speaker 1: by watching your shows. And so so when I so
- 13:22Speaker 1: when you when you do these shows? What what what
- 13:25Speaker 1: maintains that level of authenticity for you and when you
- 13:29Speaker 1: host these shows? Because they are popular, But there's a
- 13:32Speaker 1: bottom line to it, isn't it right? I mean to me,
- 13:37Speaker 1: I will bend over backwards to help anyone that I
- 13:42Speaker 1: see really cares and that is really really trying, you know,
- 13:48Speaker 1: like they there might be other people that it comes
- 13:51Speaker 1: a little bit more naturally for and they're kind of
- 13:53Speaker 1: like withdrew it. I'm like, all right, great, you got it.
- 13:56Speaker 1: But um, if there's someone that's not doing as well
- 14:00Speaker 1: as other people, but I see that they really are
- 14:02Speaker 1: trying so hard and earnestly care about what they're doing,
- 14:06Speaker 1: I will do everything I can't. I will spend more
- 14:09Speaker 1: time with them. I will you know, sort of lead
- 14:13Speaker 1: them through the process. I will remind them of what
- 14:16Speaker 1: things they need to do. I'll even help them a
- 14:18Speaker 1: tiny bit, you know, so in terms of because you know,
- 14:21Speaker 1: there's a cloth on all of this. Also, so it's
- 14:24Speaker 1: not only they're doing something you don't know how to do. Um,
- 14:27Speaker 1: you're cooking in a kitchen that you don't know where
- 14:30Speaker 1: everything is. Everything is new to you, and we put
- 14:33Speaker 1: a timer on it. It's incredibly stressful. But that's also
- 14:39Speaker 1: what makes it so fun. And I think what also
- 14:42Speaker 1: makes it so fun is that people watching at home
- 14:45Speaker 1: are like, oh god, that's a mistake I wouldn't make,
- 14:48Speaker 1: but or I wouldn't have made. But now that I
- 14:51Speaker 1: just saw that person do it, um, I won't make
- 14:54Speaker 1: that mistake. That I'm right for you better about yourself. Absolutely.
- 15:03Speaker 1: The thing about it the two questions I want to
- 15:04Speaker 1: ask the person that all the episodes you've shot and
- 15:08Speaker 1: taped and worked with, what celebrity improved the most in
- 15:12Speaker 1: the kitchen under under your tape of the show, would
- 15:16Speaker 1: you say? Um? Surprisingly, I would say um. And I
- 15:22Speaker 1: was shocked at this myself. UM was UM, Mike the
- 15:28Speaker 1: situation from the Jersey I saw that. I saw several episodes,
- 15:32Speaker 1: didn't see the final but I remember when he was
- 15:34Speaker 1: on the show. I would have thought that he did
- 15:38Speaker 1: not make it all the way to the end, but
- 15:41Speaker 1: he I think he made it to like second place
- 15:44Speaker 1: on the Red Team. And um, I mean the first
- 15:47Speaker 1: day I saw him, after the first demo, UM, I
- 15:51Speaker 1: just saw him screwing around and he wasn't taking notes
- 15:54Speaker 1: or anything. And so when the camera stopped rowing, I
- 15:57Speaker 1: think I scared him a little bit and I was like,
- 16:00Speaker 1: so you're not going to take this seriously, I will
- 16:03Speaker 1: put you right back on the train or whatever the
- 16:07Speaker 1: bridge and chunnel that you came over with, and I
- 16:09Speaker 1: will send you right back to New Jersey if you're
- 16:12Speaker 1: not going to take this seriously. And he was like,
- 16:14Speaker 1: oh my. And so then the next day he came
- 16:17Speaker 1: in and he was taking notes. He was such a
- 16:21Speaker 1: team player, he was so cute and sweet about it
- 16:25Speaker 1: that he really did just want to learn, and he
- 16:28Speaker 1: just wanted like sort of you know, approval, and he
- 16:31Speaker 1: like he put his real heart and soul into it,
- 16:34Speaker 1: so that one, I have to say, really hurt me
- 16:36Speaker 1: to send home now. And had so many people, so
- 16:41Speaker 1: many celebrities that I've loved that I've been so pleasantly
- 16:46Speaker 1: surprised by. I mean, it really is. There's really so
- 16:49Speaker 1: many good feelings that happened on the show. Well, you know,
- 16:53Speaker 1: I enjoyed the show, and I'm so happy I was
- 16:55Speaker 1: able to get you back on the show to talk
- 16:56Speaker 1: about it because I enjoyed your brain. You're just a
- 16:59Speaker 1: j neuinely nice person. I've never met you, but you
- 17:02Speaker 1: come across as a genuinely nice person and a passionate person.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Now when I see passion, that always compels me. There's
- 17:08Speaker 1: a high level authenticity and that's what you carry. You know,
- 17:11Speaker 1: you're more than just a spiky hair blowing lady that
- 17:14Speaker 1: you got a lot of. You got you got more
- 17:17Speaker 1: going on than that, and I really appreciate you coming
- 17:19Speaker 1: on my show. I'm talking to a barrel She's the
- 17:21Speaker 1: Star or Worse Cooks in America Celebrity edition, the premiering
- 17:25Speaker 1: this Sunday, May tenth and May tent May tents and
- 17:28Speaker 1: nine pm Eastern and Pacific time on Food Network. And
- 17:31Speaker 1: anything to say before you go, um, well, I would
- 17:36Speaker 1: just say there's a lot more um sort of trials
- 17:39Speaker 1: and tribulations and fun starting this weekend on Sunday night,
- 17:45Speaker 1: which is also Mother's Day. So cheers to all the
- 17:48Speaker 1: mothers out there. Thank you. And also I just want
- 17:51Speaker 1: to say thank you to everyone who are the people
- 17:55Speaker 1: on the front lines out there, all the medical workers
- 17:58Speaker 1: and all the people that are working and grocery stores
- 18:01Speaker 1: and stuff and just working to kind of help things
- 18:05Speaker 1: keep moving forward in this crazy time. And I hope
- 18:09Speaker 1: everyone stays safe and stays healthy and stays distant. Social
- 18:14Speaker 1: distancing is the key. And thank you for coming on
- 18:16Speaker 1: the show. I know you're busy, I know where some
- 18:18Speaker 1: unusual times were importantly allowed me the opportunity to talk
