- 0:01Speaker 1: Center.
- 0:01Speaker 2: Nice to be with you in person. I love it
- 0:03Speaker 2: when we get to do this once a week. You
- 0:04Speaker 2: had a very interesting weekend, and I think this conversation
- 0:08Speaker 2: what people are about to see is very foreshadowing of
- 0:11Speaker 2: the presidential election and the conversation that many Americans are
- 0:14Speaker 2: going to be having. There's this thing called Tripfest down
- 0:17Speaker 2: in Austin. It's a bunch of lefties in a room,
- 0:19Speaker 2: a bunch of young people.
- 0:21Speaker 1: I love what I.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Get to watch you do these things because I know
- 0:24Speaker 2: how much you enjoy it. But there was real dialogue
- 0:27Speaker 2: and a real conversation that's important for the country. And
- 0:31Speaker 2: one of the things about this was you got to
- 0:32Speaker 2: talk about issues like school choice, which was incredible.
- 0:36Speaker 3: Well that's right.
- 0:36Speaker 4: So on Saturday, I was up in Austin and the
- 0:39Speaker 4: event Tripfest they do every year. It's hosted by the
- 0:42Speaker 4: Texas Tribune, which is a Texas political and news organization,
- 0:46Speaker 4: and they have lots of different elected officials. They have
- 0:49Speaker 4: predominantly Democrats. They get media, they get reporters from all
- 0:53Speaker 4: over the country.
- 0:53Speaker 3: National media comes down.
- 0:55Speaker 4: They've had Hillary Clinton down there, they had they had
- 0:58Speaker 4: Joe Manchin this year.
- 1:00Speaker 3: They bring in it's sort of a nickname.
- 1:04Speaker 4: The Weekend has his Libfest instead of trip Fest because
- 1:08Speaker 4: it's accurate. It skews heavily left, and most of the
- 1:13Speaker 4: attendees are either left wing reporters or their UT students
- 1:18Speaker 4: who lean heavily left. And so this event was an
- 1:22Speaker 4: hour long where I'm up on stage being interviewed by
- 1:26Speaker 4: a reporter, Patrick Fetech, who's their political reporter, very smart,
- 1:30Speaker 4: capable guy. I know Patrick well, and so he interviewed
- 1:34Speaker 4: me for forty five minutes and then the audience said
- 1:37Speaker 4: fifteen minutes of questions. And as I said, I've done
- 1:40Speaker 4: it year after year after year, and the crowd are
- 1:44Speaker 4: always these like woke lefties.
- 1:47Speaker 1: From UT know everything who.
- 1:50Speaker 4: Are are frankly horrified to see someone right a center.
- 1:55Speaker 3: But it gives you a chance.
- 1:57Speaker 4: And actually, while I was there, I took the point
- 1:59Speaker 4: of thanking them, the folks who were booing me, to say.
- 2:04Speaker 3: Hey, listen, thank you for coming. Yeah. You know, I
- 2:07Speaker 3: talked about.
- 2:08Speaker 4: At the outset how we don't talk to each other enough,
- 2:10Speaker 4: how we do too much screaming and yelling, and the
- 2:13Speaker 4: right talks to the right and the left talks to
- 2:15Speaker 4: the left. And in fact I told them I said,
- 2:17Speaker 4: all right, it'll kill you to do this, but subscribe
- 2:19Speaker 4: to the podcast. You ought to actually listen to a
- 2:22Speaker 4: view that that that you don't ordinarily hear. But it
- 2:26Speaker 4: was it was a good chance to talk about a
- 2:29Speaker 4: lot of issues. And here's the first where I brought
- 2:32Speaker 4: up school choice. And they all had their minds made
- 2:35Speaker 4: up to begin with. But here's the exchange. I think
- 2:38Speaker 4: this year is the best opportunity of your in my
- 2:41Speaker 4: lifetime for the state legislature to pass a real and
- 2:45Speaker 4: serious school choice program to provide every child in Texas
- 2:51Speaker 4: with with hope and access to an excellent education. Texas
- 2:57Speaker 4: unfortunately lags behind on school choice. I'm a passionate defender
- 3:01Speaker 4: of school choice. I've spent thirty years fighting for school choice.
- 3:04Speaker 4: I think it is the civil rights issue of the
- 3:07Speaker 4: twenty first century. And you know, people who have gotten
- 3:12Speaker 4: a good education can laugh at that. But you know,
- 3:14Speaker 4: it's interesting if you go into the inner cities and
- 3:16Speaker 4: you ask African American parents, you ask Hispanic parents, do.
- 3:19Speaker 3: They support school choice?
- 3:20Speaker 4: Sixty seventy eighty percent of them support it. So I
- 3:23Speaker 4: get in Austin when folks have money and they feel
- 3:26Speaker 4: quite comfortable that they can oppost choice.
- 3:29Speaker 3: Well, my view is, don't trap kids.
- 3:33Speaker 2: I gotta say, I really do believe school choice is
- 3:37Speaker 2: an issue that is changing, and I think a lot
- 3:39Speaker 2: of it is because of COVID, but especially among African
- 3:42Speaker 2: American Hispanic Americans, single mothers.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Yes, they want their kids out of these.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Failing schools, and they see the damage that these teachers
- 3:49Speaker 2: are doing their kids' future, and they saw it at home.
- 3:51Speaker 2: During the time of COVID, the lid came off. I
- 3:54Speaker 2: don't think you put this GUNI back in this bottle.
- 3:56Speaker 4: Look, I agree. I think the momentum behind choice is mass.
- 4:00Speaker 4: If you're seeing growing numbers, you're seeing state after state
- 4:02Speaker 4: after state across the country passing school choice programs. For me,
- 4:07Speaker 4: it's been an issue that it's been a thirty year passion.
- 4:10Speaker 4: I think it is the single most important domestic issue
- 4:13Speaker 4: in this country. Education is the gateway. It's antecedent to
- 4:17Speaker 4: every other social problem. So you think about it, whether
- 4:20Speaker 4: you're dealing with poverty or crime, or health.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Care issues or substance abuse.
- 4:26Speaker 4: If kids get an education, many of those problems largely
- 4:31Speaker 4: take care of themselves. On the other hand, if kids
- 4:35Speaker 4: don't get a good education, if they drop out, if
- 4:37Speaker 4: they don't learn to read and write. We know that
- 4:41Speaker 4: those problems crime and poverty, and healthcare issues and substance
- 4:44Speaker 4: abuse issues, they follow like night follows day, and so
- 4:49Speaker 4: allowing kids to be trapped in failing schools is consigning
- 4:53Speaker 4: them to be shut out of the American dream.
- 4:56Speaker 3: And it's There are a lot of issues in public life.
- 5:00Speaker 4: You take an issue like affirmative action, you take an
- 5:03Speaker 4: issue like abortion, where people of good faith can disagree.
- 5:09Speaker 4: You and I have strong views on both of those topics,
- 5:11Speaker 4: but I understand the people who disagree with us. I
- 5:14Speaker 4: understand how someone can look at that same issue and
- 5:17Speaker 4: come to a different conclusion. And there are real arguments
- 5:20Speaker 4: on both sides of that issue. School choice is the
- 5:23Speaker 4: only issue I know of in public policy on which
- 5:26Speaker 4: there is literally not a good argument on the other side.
- 5:29Speaker 4: The only argument is one of venal self interests. The
- 5:34Speaker 4: only argument is the teachers' unions bingo, who for whom
- 5:39Speaker 4: Democrat politicians are bought and paid for, and they view
- 5:43Speaker 4: it as maintaining power. Because look a point I make
- 5:46Speaker 4: all the time, the rich and middle class.
- 5:49Speaker 3: Have always had school choice.
- 5:50Speaker 4: If you're at a wealthy jurisdiction. An example I use.
- 5:54Speaker 4: Let's say you live in Bethesda, Maryland. All right, so Bethesda,
- 5:57Speaker 4: Maryland is a very nice rink, which she shi neighborhood
- 6:02Speaker 4: outside of Washington.
- 6:03Speaker 3: If the Bethesda public.
- 6:05Speaker 4: Schools had a fifty percent dropout rate, if among those
- 6:09Speaker 4: kids who remained in school, only thirty percent graduated reading
- 6:15Speaker 4: at grade level, if you had drug dealers roaming the
- 6:19Speaker 4: hallways and you had little girls getting sexually assaulted in
- 6:23Speaker 4: the bathrooms, the Bethesda public schools would be empty. Why
- 6:28Speaker 4: because the parents there have money, and so they would
- 6:30Speaker 4: do one of two things. They would either move, they'd
- 6:33Speaker 4: move to another home in a different district that had
- 6:35Speaker 4: a better public school. Or because they have the resources,
- 6:39Speaker 4: they would pay tuition to send their kid to a
- 6:41Speaker 4: private school. But they would not send their child to
- 6:44Speaker 4: a school that was failing. What happens is low income parents,
- 6:48Speaker 4: often in the inner city, are trapped. They're facing schools
- 6:52Speaker 4: exactly what I just described, but if they're not rich,
- 6:55Speaker 4: they don't have the option to change it. And you
- 6:57Speaker 4: see democrats who are are blocking children. And it is
- 7:02Speaker 4: predominantly African American and Hispanic children in inner cities who
- 7:06Speaker 4: are trapped in these failing schools. And by the way,
- 7:09Speaker 4: the Democrats like to like to consider themselves the champions
- 7:13Speaker 4: for the minority community, and on the single most important
- 7:16Speaker 4: civil rights issue in the country, which is giving those
- 7:20Speaker 4: kids a chance at the American dream, the Democrats are
- 7:23Speaker 4: adamantly opposed. And you listen to all of those left
- 7:27Speaker 4: wingers at ut laughing, Oh, how funny little children that
- 7:31Speaker 4: can't get an education, ha ha. And there's an arrogance
- 7:35Speaker 4: on the left that I think is really disturbing.
- 7:39Speaker 1: What is your.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Advice for those that are running in this presidential election
- 7:44Speaker 2: on this issue, because when I when I worked in
- 7:47Speaker 2: the Bush campaign of four, there was this was a
- 7:49Speaker 2: third rail issue.
- 7:50Speaker 1: It was a do not touch issue. It was leave
- 7:52Speaker 1: it alone. It was that's fascinating it. It was a
- 7:56Speaker 1: grand debate.
- 7:56Speaker 2: It was two debates that we had on that campaign,
- 7:58Speaker 2: so secure reform, don't talk about it till after we win.
- 8:01Speaker 2: And then the second one was school choice in school vouchers.
- 8:03Speaker 2: It was like, we don't go there, that's third rail.
- 8:06Speaker 2: And I remember fighting, going, this is something we should
- 8:08Speaker 2: take to the people because people that are stuck in
- 8:10Speaker 2: failing schools. I was from Memphis, had a different perspective.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Majority of schools there. Public schools are failing schools year
- 8:16Speaker 2: after year. They're failing schools like this. You guys don't understand.
- 8:19Speaker 2: If you take this idea to the community that has
- 8:22Speaker 2: it and needs it, they will side with you.
- 8:25Speaker 1: You just have to explain it.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Are we winning now where this is no longer that
- 8:29Speaker 2: fear of that third rail. Don't touch it, don't mention it.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Democrats will beat you over the head with it.
- 8:34Speaker 4: So I got to say, I'm you and I have
- 8:36Speaker 4: never talked about this topic before, so I didn't know
- 8:38Speaker 4: that story. You were on the two thousand and four
- 8:41Speaker 4: Bush Cheney reelect. I was on the two thousand campaign,
- 8:45Speaker 4: the first Bush Cheney campaign, and my job was domestic
- 8:49Speaker 4: policy advisor.
- 8:49Speaker 3: I was twenty eight twenty nine years old. I was
- 8:52Speaker 3: a young lawyer, and.
- 8:53Speaker 4: I essentially covered any issue that touched on law, and
- 8:57Speaker 4: so education and school choice was not in my portfolio,
- 9:00Speaker 4: but I cared about it passionately, and so on the
- 9:03Speaker 4: two thousand campaign, I actually wrote a memo. I wrote
- 9:06Speaker 4: a memo to Karl Robe and Josh Bolden, all the
- 9:08Speaker 4: senior people on the campaign, arguing and arguing that George W.
- 9:13Speaker 4: Bush should have come out and promised scholarships for one
- 9:17Speaker 4: million kids across the country to go to any school
- 9:19Speaker 4: of their choice.
- 9:20Speaker 3: Lean in and own school choice. And I put the
- 9:23Speaker 3: polling data.
- 9:24Speaker 4: I put the polling data that showed that African Americans
- 9:27Speaker 4: and Hispanics, even back then, that was twenty three years ago,
- 9:31Speaker 4: were consistently sixty seventy eighty percent in support a school choice.
- 9:34Speaker 4: They also at the time ranked education is their number
- 9:37Speaker 4: one issue, as did as did white parents, but Black
- 9:41Speaker 4: parents and Hispanic parents, they all put education at their
- 9:44Speaker 4: top issue in ninety nine and two thousand and I said, look,
- 9:48Speaker 4: you've got the issue that is the top issue for
- 9:50Speaker 4: minority parents. They have an overwhelming view, and the Democrat
- 9:54Speaker 4: Party has bought and paid for by the teachers union,
- 9:56Speaker 4: so they are adamantly fighting them. And then I ran
- 10:00Speaker 4: a series of electoral hypotheticals. Sadly, I knew I was
- 10:04Speaker 4: not going to persuade the campaign on the merits we
- 10:07Speaker 4: should have but but but I didn't even bother to
- 10:09Speaker 4: make that argument. I just tried to make a simple
- 10:11Speaker 4: political argument. I ran the numbers, looking at the last
- 10:15Speaker 4: three presidential races, and I ran a couple of hypotheticals.
- 10:19Speaker 4: I said, what would have happened if the Republican nominee
- 10:22Speaker 4: got five percent more, ten percent more, or fifteen percent
- 10:27Speaker 4: more of the black and Hispanic vote. So I didn't
- 10:30Speaker 4: assume suddenly you get fifty percent more. I ran three
- 10:35Speaker 4: reasonable scenarios five percent more, ten and fifteen. The one
- 10:39Speaker 4: that really stood out to my mind was nineteen ninety
- 10:43Speaker 4: six Bob Dole versus Bill Clinton. If Bob Dole had
- 10:46Speaker 4: gotten fifteen percent more of the black and Hispanic vote,
- 10:50Speaker 4: he would have won an additional ninety six electoral votes.
- 10:55Speaker 3: Wow, it was stunning.
- 10:57Speaker 4: And I still remember that debate when Bob Dole was
- 10:59Speaker 4: asked at education and his answer he said the word
- 11:02Speaker 4: school choice. But they were so painful. I remember screaming
- 11:08Speaker 4: at the television. I was so mad at this old
- 11:12Speaker 4: man who knew nothing about choice and didn't care about it,
- 11:15Speaker 4: and was reading a talking point that he didn't give
- 11:17Speaker 4: a flip about.
- 11:18Speaker 3: And it was horrible.
- 11:21Speaker 4: Well, this memo that I submitted, it got filed in
- 11:24Speaker 4: the circular file because the education advisors on that campaign
- 11:29Speaker 4: very much were sympathetic to the blob, to the teachers'
- 11:33Speaker 4: unions and the education bureaucracy, and so I was never
- 11:37Speaker 4: able to get them to embrace choice. And actually the
- 11:40Speaker 4: memo I wrote was co signed. I wrote it, but
- 11:44Speaker 4: I asked the chief Economic Advisor who was on the
- 11:47Speaker 4: policy staff.
- 11:48Speaker 3: He signed it. I asked the Chief Education Advisor, who
- 11:51Speaker 3: was in the policy staff. She signed it. Wow.
- 11:53Speaker 4: I asked the chief advisor on kind of urban and
- 11:56Speaker 4: inner city issues.
- 11:58Speaker 3: He signed it. And frankly, I could've gotten every.
- 12:00Speaker 4: Single policy staffer they're about a dozen of us, to
- 12:03Speaker 4: sign it if I had asked them, I think, but
- 12:06Speaker 4: I didn't want. I thought that was sort of piling
- 12:08Speaker 4: on and to get. But the difference was we were
- 12:12Speaker 4: all twenty something or thirty something, and for the twenty
- 12:15Speaker 4: somethings and thirty somethings, we saw it as massively important.
- 12:19Speaker 4: The senior people on the campaign were forty somethings and
- 12:22Speaker 4: fifty somethings, and they were not interested in taking it
- 12:26Speaker 4: on there.
- 12:26Speaker 3: And they didn't Yeah, the same thing, you know.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Four It was don't go there, great idea, great idea,
- 12:31Speaker 2: young guys, and we're not gonna do it.
- 12:33Speaker 1: We don't touch it. And I think it's inching now
- 12:36Speaker 1: in this in this cycle.
- 12:38Speaker 2: How This could change Republican Party for the better for
- 12:41Speaker 2: decades to come.
- 12:42Speaker 4: So Ben, something I told Heidi before I first ran
- 12:46Speaker 4: for Senate in twenty twelve, I said, if when I
- 12:50Speaker 4: am dead and buried, my tombstone says Ted played a
- 12:55Speaker 4: meaningful part in bringing about school choice to every child
- 12:59Speaker 4: in Texas and every child to America, I said, I
- 13:01Speaker 4: will die a happy man. I mean, I mean that
- 13:03Speaker 4: it is difficult to think of a more meaningful and
- 13:06Speaker 4: powerful legacy than giving kids hope and opportunity and a
- 13:11Speaker 4: real chance to achieve a better life for themselves and
- 13:15Speaker 4: their kids in the future.
- 13:16Speaker 2: I want to tell you about our friends at Patriot Mobile.

- 13:28Speaker 2: and they are celebrating a big anniversary a decade in business.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Now here's the cool part about being with Patriot Mobile.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Every time you pay your bill, you're actually fighting for
- 13:37Speaker 2: causes that you believe in, and many times they can
- 13:39Speaker 2: save you money over what you're paying. Right now, you
- 13:42Speaker 2: may not realize that Big Mobile they give big donations
- 13:45Speaker 2: to liberal causes, including planned parenthood. That's why I want

- 14:22Speaker 2: can get, no matter where you live. Eight seven eight
- 14:25Speaker 2: Patriot or Patriot Mobile dot com slash Verdict. You also
- 14:30Speaker 2: talked about something else that is really important at this event,
- 14:32Speaker 2: and that was the Second Amendment. The Second Amendment is
- 14:35Speaker 2: an issue that some don't like to touch. I love
- 14:38Speaker 2: that you love to talk about it because it's something
- 14:40Speaker 2: you care about and you're willing to have a grand debate.
- 14:42Speaker 2: And it got a little feisty, especially with the audience.
- 14:45Speaker 2: I want people to see what you had to.
- 14:46Speaker 4: Say this is the basic divide. Every time there's a
- 14:49Speaker 4: mass shooting, you see elected Democrats. Their approach is they
- 14:53Speaker 4: want to take away the Second Amendment rights of law
- 14:57Speaker 4: abiding citizens. Here's the pronounce See this is what I mean.
- 15:00Speaker 4: We just yell at each other. This is not that
- 15:03Speaker 4: there is zero evidence that doing so, There is zero
- 15:08Speaker 4: evidence that doing so protects any lives. And in fact,
- 15:14Speaker 4: if you look nationally, if you look at the jurisdictions
- 15:17Speaker 4: with the strictest gun control laws, almost without exception, they
- 15:21Speaker 4: have among the highest murder rates and among the highest
- 15:23Speaker 4: crime rates. The city of Chicago has some of the
- 15:26Speaker 4: toughest gun control laws in the country, and it consistently
- 15:29Speaker 4: has horrible murder rates. Because what happens if you pass
- 15:33Speaker 4: a law that disarms law abiding citizens. Law abiding citizens,
- 15:38Speaker 4: by definition, they follow the law. The criminals don't, and
- 15:43Speaker 4: so what ends up happening is the criminals target the
- 15:46Speaker 4: law abiding citizens. So your question, there are proposals that say, listen,
- 15:50Speaker 4: we want to raise the age to buy a firearm
- 15:53Speaker 4: to age twenty one. Well, you know what, I think
- 15:55Speaker 4: that a nineteen or twenty year old single mom living
- 15:58Speaker 4: in the inner city and huge Dallas, going to work
- 16:01Speaker 4: in a dangerous neighborhood has a right to protect yourself
- 16:04Speaker 4: as a right under the Second Amendment, to protect yourself
- 16:07Speaker 4: from someone who would commit violence against her.
- 16:11Speaker 3: And I'll give a stat again.
- 16:12Speaker 4: Look, this is an audience who I think has their
- 16:14Speaker 4: mind made up and doesn't want to hear actual data.
- 16:18Speaker 3: But let me give you. Let me give you data.
- 16:20Speaker 4: From a source that I suspect you would agree with
- 16:23Speaker 4: the Obama White House. You're gonna agree that's not a
- 16:26Speaker 4: right wing source. Here's what the Obama White House put out.
- 16:29Speaker 4: They said, every year, firearms are used defensively to stop
- 16:33Speaker 4: a crime, to stop a murder, to stop a rape,
- 16:36Speaker 4: between five hundred thousand and a million times a year
- 16:41Speaker 4: every year in the United States of America. That is
- 16:44Speaker 4: a very simple reality. And so when you disarm people,
- 16:48Speaker 4: when you take that nineteen year old single mom and
- 16:51Speaker 4: you say you can no longer defend yourself, the data
- 16:56Speaker 4: show you see crime rates go up, you see murder
- 17:00Speaker 4: rates go up, you see sexual assault rates go up.
- 17:03Speaker 4: And if you want to stop those crimes, and listen,
- 17:05Speaker 4: I believe the people here want to stop those crimes.
- 17:08Speaker 4: But if you want to stop them, you should look
- 17:10Speaker 4: to the data of what actually works, and what works
- 17:14Speaker 4: is putting the criminals in jail.
- 17:16Speaker 3: And I'll point out and.
- 17:17Speaker 4: We got to move on to the next question, but
- 17:19Speaker 4: hold on a second. This is deeply connected. This is
- 17:22Speaker 4: deeply connected with the policies Democrats have championed defunding the
- 17:27Speaker 4: police and also George Soros prosecutors who release violent criminals.
- 17:33Speaker 4: Because the same people who are all worked up about
- 17:35Speaker 4: gun control are also by and large supporting releasing criminals
- 17:40Speaker 4: from jail. And we see that pattern over and over
- 17:43Speaker 4: and over again and.
- 17:44Speaker 3: When it happens. So I've sat down with.
- 17:47Speaker 4: Texas police chiefs who said to me, we know who
- 17:52Speaker 4: the trigger pullers are, we know who the criminals are.
- 17:55Speaker 4: We want to arrest them, and we can't because they
- 17:57Speaker 4: keep getting let go and they keep committee more murders.
- 18:01Speaker 4: If you want to stop crime, go after the criminals,
- 18:03Speaker 4: not law abiding citizens.
- 18:05Speaker 1: Let's talk about it. Another big issue. We got to
- 18:10Speaker 1: move on. You're making too much sense over your sinner.
- 18:13Speaker 1: We gotta with some mis move But we heard your answer.
- 18:15Speaker 2: I can't believe that the audience couldn't even clap in
- 18:18Speaker 2: a basic idea that a single mother who's nineteen the
- 18:20Speaker 2: inner city should be able to defend yourself against someone
- 18:22Speaker 2: bring in your home, trying to kill a raper, whatever
- 18:25Speaker 2: it may be, not a clap in the room.
- 18:27Speaker 3: That don't look Rich Liberals like school choice. If you're
- 18:32Speaker 3: a rich liberal, you live in a neighborhood where they haven't.
- 18:36Speaker 4: Abolished the police, You've got lots of police officers protecting
- 18:39Speaker 4: your home. You know, Actually, if you're wealthy enough, the
- 18:43Speaker 4: second Amendment is not necessarily life or death because you're
- 18:48Speaker 4: able to outsource protection. You're able to live in an
- 18:51Speaker 4: environment where you're not living next door to a crack
- 18:53Speaker 4: house at all likelihood. If you're low income, if you're
- 18:58Speaker 4: in the inner city, if you're a single, you're facing
- 19:01Speaker 4: the very real prospect of if you're taking the subway
- 19:04Speaker 4: at home at night, or the bus at home at night,
- 19:07Speaker 4: at being robbed at gunpoint, at being assaulted, and you
- 19:13Speaker 4: often don't have a choice.
- 19:15Speaker 3: You don't have another option.
- 19:17Speaker 4: You can't move to a safer place where the criminals
- 19:20Speaker 4: are not next to you. And liberals talk about compassion enormously,
- 19:26Speaker 4: but when you actually point out that the people who
- 19:29Speaker 4: are hurt by their policies are the most vulnerable, they
- 19:32Speaker 4: get very angry. They do not like you're not allowed
- 19:35Speaker 4: to defend an African American single mom in the inner
- 19:38Speaker 4: city because they're in charge of her, and damn it,
- 19:40Speaker 4: if they disarmor and she gets killed, it was good
- 19:43Speaker 4: for it made them feel good to disarm her, even
- 19:49Speaker 4: though they also championed the policy that released the murderer
- 19:54Speaker 4: who killed her. They take no responsibility. You heard the
- 19:57Speaker 4: crowd howling when I brought up George Soros prosecutors. So
- 20:01Speaker 4: they all support, but they all contribute.
- 20:03Speaker 2: They laugh, they act like you're making it up. The
- 20:05Speaker 2: data shows that you're not.
- 20:07Speaker 4: The numbers are staggering. George Soros has spent literally millions
- 20:11Speaker 4: of dollars electing DA's who let violent criminals out of
- 20:15Speaker 4: jail over and over and over again. And they commit
- 20:18Speaker 4: crimes over and over and over again. But you know what,
- 20:21Speaker 4: they generally don't commit crimes against rich people living in rich,
- 20:25Speaker 4: white liberal neighborhoods where they say, oh, I feel so
- 20:28Speaker 4: good emptying the prisons. Isn't that nice? No, it's the
- 20:31Speaker 4: inner cities. It's the people, and it's predominantly African Americans
- 20:34Speaker 4: and Hispanics whose lives are lost. All the people with
- 20:38Speaker 4: the yard signs out front of their house that say
- 20:40Speaker 4: black lives matter apparently don't really give a damn about
- 20:43Speaker 4: black lives because when you point out that more African
- 20:46Speaker 4: Americans are being murdered because of the left wing policies
- 20:49Speaker 4: they support, undermining police officers and letting violent criminals go,
- 20:54Speaker 4: they react like that crowd. They boo you just they
- 20:57Speaker 4: don't want to hear it.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Just two weeks ago, there's an African American young way
- 21:00Speaker 2: there was a soros DA elected because SROs backed him
- 21:03Speaker 2: and gave them the money, and she was shot. It
- 21:06Speaker 2: was four or five times by her ex She was
- 21:11Speaker 2: in surgery in critical condition, and the man who they
- 21:15Speaker 2: caught who shut her, had already gotten out of jail
- 21:18Speaker 2: because of an activist soros DA who said bail reform,
- 21:22Speaker 2: Oh I can't keep you here, you don't have a
- 21:23Speaker 2: lot of money. He was out free in the city
- 21:27Speaker 2: while that woman was still in surgery fighting for her life.
- 21:30Speaker 2: And that's the source day and they laugh about that. Yeah,
- 21:32Speaker 2: it's amazing. There's also another issue that it's interesting to
- 21:36Speaker 2: see how abortion plays in election cycles. There seems to
- 21:39Speaker 2: be a real taste for revenge right now from Democrats
- 21:42Speaker 2: because of the overturning of Roe v. Wade and going
- 21:45Speaker 2: back to the States. There seems to be this is
- 21:48Speaker 2: a presidential election year issue. They want it to be
- 21:51Speaker 2: inspiring for women and feminists and angry people on the
- 21:55Speaker 2: left to come out and get revenge because they say
- 21:58Speaker 2: how their Republicans protect the life of the unborn. You
- 22:01Speaker 2: talked about some of the ways are trying to get
- 22:04Speaker 2: back Roe v. Wade and try to put back these
- 22:06Speaker 2: laws into place, and that also had a very interesting
- 22:08Speaker 2: reaction from the crowd.
- 22:09Speaker 4: Take a look, so twice the Democrats have taken up
- 22:13Speaker 4: a bill and it's a bill they said was to
- 22:16Speaker 4: recodify ROW.
- 22:18Speaker 1: I get it. It's you're saying it's not it's not
- 22:19Speaker 1: plausible politically, right.
- 22:20Speaker 3: Well, but let me go a little further.
- 22:23Speaker 4: So the Democrats said the bill was was to codify Row.
- 22:26Speaker 4: And what's interesting that actually is poll tested, that polls
- 22:29Speaker 4: pretty well, but it is not in fact what the
- 22:32Speaker 4: bill would do. The bill that was voted on in
- 22:35Speaker 4: the Senate is a bill that would effectively strike down
- 22:39Speaker 4: every single state restriction on abortion, so it would legalize
- 22:43Speaker 4: abortion up until the moment of birth. It would legalize
- 22:47Speaker 4: partial birth abortion.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Democrats disputed.
- 22:50Speaker 4: It would it would strike down parental notification and parental consent.
- 22:56Speaker 4: You're saying, but I want to say something that's important
- 22:58Speaker 4: to understand. If you look at national polling, that view
- 23:04Speaker 4: is an extreme and radical view. Nine percent of Americans
- 23:08Speaker 4: agree with that view, and every single Senate Democrat voted
- 23:12Speaker 4: for that view. And so the position of Washington Democrats
- 23:16Speaker 4: is wildly out of step with where the American people are.
- 23:20Speaker 2: I mean, Sier, you listen to the status, You listen
- 23:23Speaker 2: to what you said.
- 23:23Speaker 1: He didn't want to hear it.
- 23:25Speaker 2: The audience doesn't want to hear it, and they don't
- 23:27Speaker 2: want to hear what's actually in the bill that you
- 23:29Speaker 2: just describe because it doesn't fit their narrative, even though
- 23:32Speaker 2: it's not the truth.
- 23:33Speaker 4: They just yell it's not true. No, no, no, it's
- 23:35Speaker 4: not true. And yet it is the view over and
- 23:38Speaker 4: over again of elected Democrats. And the hate when you
- 23:41Speaker 4: pointed out. Reporters hate when you pointed out. Activists hate
- 23:44Speaker 4: when you pointed out because Republicans are supposed to be
- 23:46Speaker 4: on the defensive. They're supposed to run away and not
- 23:49Speaker 4: be willing to discuss the issue.
- 23:51Speaker 3: And what I said earlier at Tripfest I said.
- 23:55Speaker 4: Listen, abortion, people disagree, people disagree strongly, and the Supreme
- 23:59Speaker 4: Court was right in overturning Row and leaving the issue
- 24:03Speaker 4: to the democratically elected legislature so that we can have
- 24:07Speaker 4: the answer to that question about what the rules should
- 24:10Speaker 4: be decided by the democrat process, not by nine unelected
- 24:17Speaker 4: lawyers in black robes. And again, left wing activists don't
- 24:22Speaker 4: like to hear it. They wanted to create their view
- 24:25Speaker 4: and force it on people whether they like it or not,
- 24:28Speaker 4: because they've got a real problem with democracy.
- 24:30Speaker 2: We've seen a lot happen with the economy, and we've
- 24:33Speaker 2: seen a lot that's happened with interest rates. We've seen
- 24:35Speaker 2: some bank failures, and we've seen inflation. And the question
- 24:38Speaker 2: is if your close to retirement, are in retirement, this
- 24:41Speaker 2: is an important one for you. How do I protect
- 24:44Speaker 2: my hard earned dollars? Well, let me tell you about

- 26:06Speaker 2: Precious Medals dot com. That's Augusta Precious Metals dot com.
- 26:11Speaker 2: We've spoken at this event several years in a row.
- 26:14Speaker 2: I wanted to get your take because I wanted to
- 26:17Speaker 2: see what the audience is gonna do. I was really
- 26:18Speaker 2: intrigued as I was watching this online as you were there.
- 26:21Speaker 2: It was the audience going to change on the issue
- 26:23Speaker 2: of immigration reform in border security because the onslaught of
- 26:27Speaker 2: illegal immigrants coming across the border into Texas and what
- 26:31Speaker 2: it's happening around the country. Seeing this debate change very
- 26:34Speaker 2: quickly with Democrats like Mayor Adams and the governor New
- 26:36Speaker 2: York and others. Did the audience change in Austin though,
- 26:39Speaker 2: because it's go outside, go anywhere in Texas. You can
- 26:44Speaker 2: see the difference in how the state's changing because of
- 26:47Speaker 2: so many illegal immigrants come across the border. Were they
- 26:49Speaker 2: willing to have a different dialogue this.
- 26:51Speaker 3: Year, Not not remotely.
- 26:52Speaker 4: Unfortunately, left wing college students live in an ivory tower.
- 26:56Speaker 4: These are the same college students that think school choice
- 26:58Speaker 4: there's no need for it, that think the Second Amendment
- 27:00Speaker 4: is unnecessary and we should disarm people that want to
- 27:03Speaker 4: see unlimited abortion on demand because they're being indoctrinated. Look,
- 27:06Speaker 4: they're nineteen twenty year olds are being indoctrinated, So on
- 27:10Speaker 4: immigration that their only view as open borders is mandated
- 27:14Speaker 4: by justice, and so they.
- 27:15Speaker 3: Don't want to hear the people who are hurt.
- 27:18Speaker 4: They don't want to hear the suffering, they don't want
- 27:19Speaker 4: to hear the death that comes from open borders because
- 27:22Speaker 4: it's inconsistent with their political narrative.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Take a look at this video. It's interesting and.
- 27:27Speaker 4: It's a problem that is man made. This is one
- 27:30Speaker 4: of the important things to say. So if you look
- 27:32Speaker 4: at press talking points, one of the talking points that
- 27:35Speaker 4: you see from the White House is well, the border
- 27:37Speaker 4: is just not solvable. The problem with that is that
- 27:40Speaker 4: is objectively false. When Joe Biden came into office, he
- 27:45Speaker 4: inherited the lowest rate of illegal immigration in forty five years.
- 27:50Speaker 4: And this crisis was caused by three specific decisions. Number one,
- 27:57Speaker 4: it was caused the first week in office. Biden immediately
- 28:00Speaker 4: halted construction of the border wall. Number two, he reinstated
- 28:05Speaker 4: the failed policy of catch and release, so that when
- 28:08Speaker 4: people are apprehended, they're given a court date sometime in
- 28:10Speaker 4: the future, they're let go and the vast majority of
- 28:13Speaker 4: them are never seen again. And number three, he pulled
- 28:17Speaker 4: out of the incredibly successful remain in Mexico Agreement.
- 28:21Speaker 3: Now, what was remain in Mexico.
- 28:22Speaker 4: Remain in Mexico was an international agreement the United States
- 28:25Speaker 4: negotiated with Mexico that said that when people cross illegally
- 28:30Speaker 4: into Mexico, typically from Central or South America, that they
- 28:34Speaker 4: would remain in Mexico while their US asylum case was preceding.
- 28:38Speaker 1: And it worked.
- 28:39Speaker 4: It worked incredibly well, so much so that we saw
- 28:44Speaker 4: the lowest rate of illegal immigration in forty five years.
- 28:47Speaker 4: Biden came in his first week in office, he ripped
- 28:50Speaker 4: that agreement to shreds and we right now have the
- 28:54Speaker 4: highest rate ever recorded. Seven point two million people have
- 28:59Speaker 4: crossed illegally since Biden became president, and it is utterly indefensible.
- 29:05Speaker 5: I want to move on to one, one or two
- 29:07Speaker 5: topics before we go to audience questions.
- 29:09Speaker 1: Here, Let's just think about how silent he was.
- 29:13Speaker 2: It's like, let's move on again, right, don't want to
- 29:15Speaker 2: talk about the facts. And if you look at the
- 29:17Speaker 2: numbers since Joe Biden took office, you have seven point
- 29:20Speaker 2: five million illegal immigrants that have crossed the border, including
- 29:24Speaker 2: one point five million guidaways to escape border patrol and
- 29:27Speaker 2: vanished into the country.
- 29:29Speaker 1: In Friday, there was a dump of new data.
- 29:33Speaker 2: The Biden administration announced two hundred and thirty two, nine
- 29:36Speaker 2: hundred and seventy two illegal immigrants were encountered at the
- 29:39Speaker 2: southern border in August. That's the thirtieth straight month center
- 29:44Speaker 2: of the worst border crisis in history, and the highest
- 29:48Speaker 2: total for that month in Department of Homeland Security history.
- 29:52Speaker 1: That is how bad it is.
- 29:53Speaker 2: And if you take a look at the graft that
- 29:54Speaker 2: was released on Friday by the Border Patrol custom Border,
- 29:58Speaker 2: this is what it looks like. And I I want
- 30:00Speaker 2: to get your reaction to now, this is just the encounters,
- 30:03Speaker 2: and you can explain the difference for people between encounters
- 30:05Speaker 2: and godaways.
- 30:06Speaker 4: So encounters are where border patrol agents actually encounter someone,
- 30:10Speaker 4: they stop someone, they turn them in. A got away
- 30:13Speaker 4: is they see someone and they take off, so they
- 30:15Speaker 4: don't actually apprehend them. They but they know that they
- 30:18Speaker 4: are there. They just got away. And let let's go
- 30:21Speaker 4: back to this chart because I want to walk it through.
- 30:24Speaker 4: So if you look at the August numbers, all right,
- 30:28Speaker 4: August of twenty twenty, there were forty nine hundred and
- 30:31Speaker 4: twenty nine encounters.
- 30:32Speaker 1: That's a lot.
- 30:33Speaker 4: Although it was the lowest in forty five years. One
- 30:36Speaker 4: year later, August of twenty twenty one, it goes from
- 30:38Speaker 4: forty thousand to two hundred and thirteen thousand, five hundred
- 30:42Speaker 4: and ninety three. So August of twenty twenty there were
- 30:45Speaker 4: fifty thousand and fourteen encounters. Now that's a lot, but
- 30:49Speaker 4: twenty twenty was the lowest rate of illegal immigration in.
- 30:52Speaker 3: Forty five years.
- 30:52Speaker 1: So is the president then?
- 30:54Speaker 3: That would be Donald.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Trump, just making sure everybody knows that.
- 30:56Speaker 4: So fifty and twenty twenty one year later, August of
- 30:59Speaker 4: twenty twenty one, two hundred and nine thousand, eight hundred
- 31:04Speaker 4: and forty so it's increased four hundred percent. First year
- 31:08Speaker 4: Biden's in office August of twenty twenty two, two hundred
- 31:13Speaker 4: and four thousand and eighty seven, So it stays up
- 31:17Speaker 4: four x where it was under Trump. And how about
- 31:21Speaker 4: August of twenty twenty three, they just released the numbers
- 31:24Speaker 4: two hundred and thirty two thousand, nine hundred and seventy two.
- 31:29Speaker 4: It's nearly five hundred percent where it was in August
- 31:33Speaker 4: of twenty twenty. And if you look at this chart,
- 31:36Speaker 4: that same ratio is there every single month. October November
- 31:39Speaker 4: December January Februy. All the way through you see numbers
- 31:43Speaker 4: that are about a quarter of what they are now,
- 31:47Speaker 4: a four x increase. And that's what happens when you
- 31:50Speaker 4: have open border democrats who empower the cartels and among
- 31:56Speaker 4: other things, make billions of dollars for the cartels in
- 31:59Speaker 4: human trafficking, in drug trafficking, not concerning themselves with the
- 32:05Speaker 4: death and suffering and misery that results from.
- 32:07Speaker 2: There's a civil war the Democratic Party right now over
- 32:09Speaker 2: the immigration issue. We're seeing, you know, Mayor Adams come out,
- 32:13Speaker 2: the Governor of New York come out, and it's hard
- 32:16Speaker 2: to just overlook what's happening at the border. There was
- 32:19Speaker 2: an interesting Fox report that I think put it in
- 32:21Speaker 2: perspective for people, and I wanted to make sure we
- 32:23Speaker 2: played it in the video pod. And many people are
- 32:26Speaker 2: listening to this right now. They're listening on audio only.
- 32:28Speaker 2: You can go watch the video that we're about to
- 32:30Speaker 2: do on YouTube, all right, because we're doing this one
- 32:32Speaker 2: with video and audio. Go look at it, because this
- 32:34Speaker 2: is something that should go viral and people should see.
- 32:37Speaker 1: Yep, take a look at this.
- 32:38Speaker 5: I can tell you that early this morning, an eagle
- 32:40Speaker 5: pass we witnessed one of the largest mass illegal crossings
- 32:44Speaker 5: we have ever seen in the last two and a
- 32:46Speaker 5: half years of covering our southern border. We'll get right
- 32:48Speaker 5: to this video. Take a look at this stunning footage.
- 32:51Speaker 5: Border patrol sources telling us just after midnight about two thousand,
- 32:56Speaker 5: five hundred migrants crossed illegally into Eagle So you can
- 33:00Speaker 5: see this lengthy line of them stretching from shore to
- 33:03Speaker 5: shore in the river. This video perspective coming from the
- 33:06Speaker 5: Mexican side of the river in Piedros Negros, one of
- 33:09Speaker 5: our contacts over there shooting this video as they essentially
- 33:12Speaker 5: bum rushed Eagle Pass.
- 33:13Speaker 2: Last night, you saw that there was another video also
- 33:17Speaker 2: in viral, and that was a train coming towards America
- 33:20Speaker 2: filled with people. And it's like the cartails that figured out, Hey,
- 33:23Speaker 2: they're not gonna stop us. In fact, the more that
- 33:25Speaker 2: we send the more likely it is to be successful.
- 33:29Speaker 2: We can just bum rush the border and this administration
- 33:32Speaker 2: will not stop us.
- 33:33Speaker 4: Yeah, let's put these these numbers in context. So, as
- 33:37Speaker 4: we've discussed on the pod before, Mayor Adams in New
- 33:40Speaker 4: York has said that New York is City isn't a
- 33:43Speaker 4: crisis they've had one hundred and ten thousand illegal immigrants.
- 33:46Speaker 4: He says that one hundred and ten thousand illegal immigrants
- 33:48Speaker 4: is destroying New York City. I want to focus on
- 33:52Speaker 4: Eagle Pass where where if you watch that video you
- 33:55Speaker 4: just saw the people crossing. Eagle Pass is a small
- 33:58Speaker 4: town on the southern border on the Rio Grande River.
- 34:02Speaker 4: It has a population of about twenty eight thousand people,
- 34:05Speaker 4: so it's a little town. On one single day last week,
- 34:11Speaker 4: more than four thousand illegal immigrants came into Eagle Pass
- 34:15Speaker 4: on one day. Now four thousand people in town of
- 34:19Speaker 4: twenty eight thousand people is about fourteen percent of the population.
- 34:23Speaker 4: About fourteen percent of the population of the city came
- 34:26Speaker 4: illegally into Eagle Pass on one day. What would that
- 34:30Speaker 4: be in New York City? New York City has a
- 34:32Speaker 4: population of about nine million people. If fourteen percent of
- 34:37Speaker 4: New York City came into New York on one day,
- 34:40Speaker 4: that would be one million, two hundred and sixty thousand
- 34:43Speaker 4: people invading New York on a single day. Mayor Adams says,
- 34:49Speaker 4: one hundred and ten thousand people over two and a
- 34:51Speaker 4: half years is a crisis destroying the city. Well, how
- 34:55Speaker 4: would he feel about one million, two hundred and sixty
- 34:57Speaker 4: thousand people entering the city on a single day. That's
- 35:00Speaker 4: what Eagle Pass saw on one day last week. And
- 35:03Speaker 4: you know what they saw thousands more the next day
- 35:06Speaker 4: and the next day and the next day and the
- 35:08Speaker 4: next day. And these Democrats do not give a damn.
- 35:11Speaker 2: Border Patrol Union put out a very interesting tweet and
- 35:14Speaker 2: this is what they said as they put this out.
- 35:17Speaker 2: It said, from September first through the twentieth, the Biden
- 35:19Speaker 2: administration or the release of more than one hundred thousand.
- 35:23Speaker 2: This to order the release of one hundred thousand legal
- 35:25Speaker 2: border crashers, enough to double the population of sees like Uma, Arizona.
- 35:29Speaker 2: Think about what Biden is doing to this country with
- 35:32Speaker 2: his out of control border policies.
- 35:34Speaker 1: How many millions more?
- 35:36Speaker 2: That's not like exaggeration when they say Border Patrol Union
- 35:41Speaker 2: saying how many millions more, that's a very accurate sit
- 35:45Speaker 2: because there are millions.
- 35:46Speaker 4: Look, they're at seven and a half million, and Joe
- 35:49Speaker 4: Biden and Kamala Harris and Chuck Schumer and Alejandro may
- 35:53Speaker 4: orcus and every Senate Democrat and just about every congressional
- 35:56Speaker 4: Democrat they want seven and a half million, to go
- 35:58Speaker 4: to ten million, to go to two million, to go
- 36:00Speaker 4: to fifteen million. They want as many as possible. And
- 36:05Speaker 4: by the way, if you don't believe me that they
- 36:07Speaker 4: want as many as possible, take a look at the
- 36:10Speaker 4: Governor of New York, Governor Hochel back in twenty twenty one,
- 36:14Speaker 4: so just two years ago, where she is explicitly inviting
- 36:18Speaker 4: as many as possible to come to New York.
- 36:20Speaker 1: Take a look.
- 36:21Speaker 6: So our message the world is, send us your people,
- 36:25Speaker 6: send us those who need the cloak of comfort that
- 36:29Speaker 6: we can demonstrate as New Yorkers.
- 36:30Speaker 7: With big hearts and open arms, and we'll provide.
- 36:33Speaker 6: A safe have and particularly for these Afghan refugees, we're
- 36:37Speaker 6: so proud that are here. We have already seventy five
- 36:40Speaker 6: hundred Afghans living here already, and we expect to have
- 36:43Speaker 6: another eighteen hundred more. And we send a message from
- 36:46Speaker 6: day one, we'll take as many as you want to
- 36:48Speaker 6: have us have come to New York State because it's
- 36:51Speaker 6: a huge point of pride for us, and we'll support
- 36:53Speaker 6: them to build a whole new life.
- 36:55Speaker 1: Open arms and big hearts. In twenty twenty one.
- 36:58Speaker 4: And she also said will take as many as you
- 37:01Speaker 4: want to have come to New York, please come. So
- 37:04Speaker 4: that is the approved talking point of left wingers. Now
- 37:09Speaker 4: fast forward to twenty twenty three, same governor.
- 37:13Speaker 3: Here's what she says this year.
- 37:15Speaker 7: It certainly will, because about forty one percent of the
- 37:18Speaker 7: people in our shelters today are from Venezuela. They are
- 37:22Speaker 7: lily from around the world, West Africa, South and Central America.
- 37:26Speaker 7: They're coming from all over. But we have to let
- 37:29Speaker 7: the word out that when you come to New York,
- 37:32Speaker 7: we're not going to have more hotel rooms. We don't
- 37:34Speaker 7: have capacities. So we have to also message properly that
- 37:37Speaker 7: we're at our limit. If you're going to leave your country,
- 37:40Speaker 7: go somewhere else. But the smarter thing is to apply
- 37:43Speaker 7: for asylum before you leave your country, and then you'll
- 37:46Speaker 7: have a different experience when you arrive.
- 37:47Speaker 2: If you're going to leave your country, center go somewhere else.
- 37:50Speaker 2: Down that we're at our limit. We're at our limit.
- 37:53Speaker 1: We have no more hotel rooms for you.
- 37:55Speaker 3: And by the way, look at the numbers.
- 37:56Speaker 4: So in twenty twenty one, she was saying, we have
- 37:58Speaker 4: seventy five hundred afar and we expect another eighteen hundred
- 38:01Speaker 4: more Okay, So if they're talking seven eight nine thousand,
- 38:05Speaker 4: that we're good one hundred and ten thousand, Oh crap,
- 38:09Speaker 4: we're at our limit. We said eighteen hundred, we didn't
- 38:12Speaker 4: say one hundred and ten thousand. Well what do you
- 38:14Speaker 4: think about seven and.
- 38:16Speaker 3: A half million?
- 38:17Speaker 4: The utter hypocrisy and mind you you know, you know
- 38:20Speaker 4: what name she didn't say Joe Biden. Yeah, she didn't
- 38:24Speaker 4: say Kamala Harris, she didn't say Chuck Schumer. If New
- 38:28Speaker 4: York is at its limit, doesn't New York State have
- 38:32Speaker 4: two US Senators?
- 38:33Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 38:34Speaker 3: Isn't one of them the Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer.
- 38:37Speaker 2: Who could do something on this, actually legislation or introduce legislation.
- 38:41Speaker 4: And not only does he not introduce legislation, he votes
- 38:45Speaker 4: against anything to secure the border. He demonizes any effort
- 38:48Speaker 4: to secure the border. He embraces the open borders that
- 38:52Speaker 4: are destroying New York City, and even the Democrats who
- 38:55Speaker 4: are calling it out, they don't dare call out their
- 38:58Speaker 4: fellow Democrats. Instead, they blame as I love, you know,
- 39:02Speaker 4: Mayor Adams who said some madman in Texas, Greg Abbott. Yeah,
- 39:06Speaker 4: I'm still I'm still offended that he wasn't talking about me.
- 39:09Speaker 4: But the hypocrisy is massive because New York's Democrat governor
- 39:17Speaker 4: is not saying stop secure the border, stop the invasion.
- 39:20Speaker 4: She's saying, please don't send them to New York, send
- 39:22Speaker 4: them to Red States. Make other people deal with them
- 39:24Speaker 4: so I can continue to virtue signal. By the way,
- 39:27Speaker 4: did you notice also in that press interview it was
- 39:29Speaker 4: a little Stepford wives that that that that that both
- 39:32Speaker 4: she and the woman interviewing are wearing the exact same
- 39:35Speaker 4: white suit. Yeah, it was just kind of a little
- 39:37Speaker 4: freaky look, and I'm not sure what was going on there.
- 39:39Speaker 1: I love everybody asked me about it.
- 39:40Speaker 2: You really believe there's bias in the media, And I'm like, yes,
- 39:43Speaker 2: I really do.
- 39:43Speaker 1: Like I love when I'm traveling, you get it to
- 39:45Speaker 1: all the time.
- 39:45Speaker 2: People come up and they kind of want to antagonize, like,
- 39:47Speaker 2: there's not bias media. If you were a decent person
- 39:50Speaker 2: in the media, when she said go somewhere else, any journalist,
- 39:54Speaker 2: the initial response would been, will governor where else where?
- 39:59Speaker 2: What is this somewhere where else? Is that another state?
- 40:02Speaker 2: Are you telling me to go to another country? There
- 40:04Speaker 2: was no follow up.
- 40:05Speaker 4: There on at all, No no, no, because there's no
- 40:07Speaker 4: response to that, go somewhere else what they mean. And
- 40:10Speaker 4: actually the Biden White House said that go to Texas.
- 40:12Speaker 4: Send them all to Texas because they hate Texas and
- 40:16Speaker 4: they figure if they invade Texas with enough people, they'll
- 40:20Speaker 4: flip it blue. And you know what, if the cities
- 40:23Speaker 4: are bankrupted, and if people die, and if children are assaulted,
- 40:27Speaker 4: and if they're drug overdoses, all of that is an
- 40:30Speaker 4: acceptable price for their partisan political objective.
- 40:33Speaker 2: If you're a guy and you feel like you've lost
- 40:35Speaker 2: your edge, you feel like weakness and complacency are setting in,
- 40:38Speaker 2: You're not alone to Stosterum levels have dropped off a

- 41:45Speaker 2: You mentioned Eagle Pass, and you're starting to see some
- 41:48Speaker 2: of these smaller mayors in these smaller towns. They're finally
- 41:51Speaker 2: getting some airtime on places like CNN, and they're doing
- 41:55Speaker 2: an amazing job telling their story now because they've been
- 41:58Speaker 2: bombarded with illegal immig And again you compared it to
- 42:01Speaker 2: New York City as you did a moment ago, and
- 42:03Speaker 2: it should make you angry, But imagine being a mayor.
- 42:07Speaker 2: You're being invaded every twenty four hours with thirty forty
- 42:10Speaker 2: fifty six percent of your entire population with illegal immigrants
- 42:14Speaker 2: are come across and now they're draining on your economy.
- 42:17Speaker 2: They're not helping your economy, they're draining your economy, and
- 42:21Speaker 2: they're begging for help.
- 42:22Speaker 1: And look at what he had to say on CNN.
- 42:24Speaker 8: This is definitely a very serious situation for the city
- 42:27Speaker 8: of Eagle Pass. We're a city of about twenty eight
- 42:29Speaker 8: to thirty thousand people, and the last couple of days
- 42:32Speaker 8: we've had in excess of five thousand people cross from
- 42:36Speaker 8: Piadras Negadas, Mexico into Eagle Past, Texas. It's become a
- 42:40Speaker 8: big concern for the community. A lot of people are frustrated,
- 42:44Speaker 8: a lot of these people are being loose in the community,
- 42:47Speaker 8: walking around, and it's just a big concern for the
- 42:50Speaker 8: City of Eagle Pass, not only safety wise, but also
- 42:54Speaker 8: our local economy is taking a hit because because of
- 42:57Speaker 8: this crisis, we've had to shut down bridge and a
- 43:00Speaker 8: one our international bridge, which so many millions of dollars
- 43:03Speaker 8: glow through this bridge. We depend on the tolls of
- 43:06Speaker 8: the people that pay those bridge tolls, and it's just
- 43:09Speaker 8: an emergency situation. That is why as mayor for the
- 43:12Speaker 8: City of Eagle Pass, I decided to declare a state
- 43:16Speaker 8: of emergency for our city because We've never seen this before.
- 43:19Speaker 8: This is not normal, and we shouldn't have to be
- 43:22Speaker 8: going through a situation like this in the United States
- 43:25Speaker 8: or here in Egle Pass, Texas.
- 43:27Speaker 1: No, you shouldn't.
- 43:28Speaker 2: No, you shouldn't. For by the way, that was on CNN.
- 43:30Speaker 2: You just heard Aaron Burnett say no, you shouldn't.
- 43:34Speaker 4: So I want to pull that screen up again. Don't
- 43:37Speaker 4: play the video, but just pull the screen up again.
- 43:40Speaker 4: I want to ask you what letter is missing from
- 43:43Speaker 4: the screen.
- 43:44Speaker 1: It's a trick question. I'm ready, go ahead.
- 43:46Speaker 3: So it says at the bottom Mayor Rolando Salinas.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Oh the D or the R?
- 43:52Speaker 3: And what is he?
- 43:53Speaker 4: He's a Democrat and they didn't put the democrats. CNN
- 43:55Speaker 4: didn't want to tell you. This is a Democrat who's
- 43:58Speaker 4: calling what's going on so miraculous. There's not a little
- 44:01Speaker 4: D after his name, which they usually do. CNN knows
- 44:04Speaker 4: how to do that. Yeah, it's always up there, It
- 44:06Speaker 4: is always up there. Until they realize this is counter
- 44:09Speaker 4: to the narrative. You've got an Hispanic Democrat, Holy crap
- 44:13Speaker 4: in South Texas saying this is an emergency.
- 44:16Speaker 3: This is not normal. No, no, no, no, we can't have
- 44:19Speaker 3: that Let's have people assume he's a Republican.
- 44:22Speaker 1: Yeah, let's make sure they don't think he's a Democrat.
- 44:25Speaker 4: Okay, Look South Texas, most of the elected officials are Democrats,
- 44:29Speaker 4: and I cannot tell you how many of them have
- 44:31Speaker 4: said if my party nationally supports open borders, I can't
- 44:35Speaker 4: be a part of that because you cannot see what
- 44:38Speaker 4: is happening on the border and defend it. Nobody does.
- 44:42Speaker 4: There is nobody who sees it day to day in
- 44:46Speaker 4: reality and says this is a good outcome, this is
- 44:49Speaker 4: a humane outcome.
- 44:50Speaker 3: It is indefensible.
- 44:52Speaker 4: It's an emergency, and it's a man made emergency that
- 44:55Speaker 4: Joe Biden the Democrats want to have happen, and they
- 44:58Speaker 4: want to make it worse to tomorrow. And you know
- 45:01Speaker 4: they do because the policies they're following are designed to
- 45:06Speaker 4: make it worse tomorrow.
- 45:07Speaker 2: That's why I love doing this pod, especially with video
