  I'm thinking today specifically of a verse in

  Romans 6, and it is verse 12, which says, therefore,

  now real quick, because it says therefore, the

  first word of the verse is therefore, we have

  to realize that verse 11 says, so you too consider
• 0:15
  yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God
• 0:18
  in Christ Jesus. And so basically he's saying

  our past life and all the things that we did.

  dead, gone, and we are born again now in Christ,
• 0:26
  living for Christ. And the life that you now
• 0:28
  live, you live for the one who died for you now.

  Obviously, that's a lot of doctrine, but the
• 0:31
  bottom line is you're living for Jesus now. Then
• 0:34
  in verse 12, it says, therefore, because you're
• 0:36
  living for Jesus now, sin is not to reign in
• 0:41
  your mortal body so that you obey its lust. See,
• 0:44
  sin has a way. It could trap you again. It could
• 0:49
  pull you away from God again. It could stop you
• 0:51
  from from being who it is that God is trying
• 0:54
  to make you into, help you be. It could take
• 0:57
  away your peace. It could take away your joy.
• 0:58
  It could trap out the fruits of the Holy Spirit.

  The bottom line is that because now we are living
• 1:03
  for the Lord Jesus Christ, sin really has no
• 1:06
  place in us. Sin had a place to create death.
• 1:10
  But death has already been dealt with. Jesus
• 1:11
  conquered it. The old us is dead and gone, and
• 1:15
  all things are made new. So live your life vibrantly
• 1:18
  and powerfully and abundantly and creatively.

  And definitively for God. And if whatever you're
• 1:24
  doing, you can't do it for God, then just don't
• 1:25
  do it. That's the bottom line. And so figure
• 1:28
  out a way to do everything, even like getting
• 1:30
  dressed and eating and all of that, in a way
• 1:32
  that glorifies and honors God. Because now that
• 1:35
  the old you is dead and gone and you are alive
• 1:38
  in Christ Jesus, therefore sin is not to reign
• 1:41
  in your mortal body. You can't obey it anymore.
