- 0:00Speaker 1: Today's show is pre recorded. Y'all know what time y'all
- 0:05Speaker 1: don't know. Y'all have a sun giving them like the
- 0:15Speaker 1: million bucks things and the stuffing not to be true.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Good oft listening to the mother, I don't join jo.
- 0:58Speaker 1: You gotta use that turn you, you gotta turn to
- 1:41Speaker 1: turn them out. Turn you got to turn them out.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Turn the water the water got come, come on your thing,
- 2:02Speaker 1: I show will a good morning everybody. You're listening to
- 2:05Speaker 1: the voice I said, come on now, I dig me
- 2:08Speaker 1: the one and only Steve Harvey got a radio show. Okay, Now,
- 2:13Speaker 1: I'm gonna be really honest with you this morning. I
- 2:17Speaker 1: really don't know what to say. I really don't. I
- 2:24Speaker 1: was sitting here and I was thinking, what do I
- 2:28Speaker 1: say today. I do know that I want to be encouraging,
- 2:35Speaker 1: uplifting and inspirational in some way to affect somebody today. Oftentimes,
- 2:42Speaker 1: these conversations that I have in the mornings, they're designed
- 2:47Speaker 1: with me because I needed myself, y'all, to be honest
- 2:51Speaker 1: with you. I mean, you know who who makes the
- 2:56Speaker 1: comedian laugh? I used to say all the time. And
- 3:00Speaker 1: even though what we talk about in the morning is
- 3:03Speaker 1: not a laughing matter, it kind of like is it's
- 3:06Speaker 1: who I am today? You know, I need motivation in
- 3:10Speaker 1: my life sometimes myself. I think when I get in
- 3:15Speaker 1: moments like this, I often resort back to the same
- 3:21Speaker 1: thing over and over and over. And when I find
- 3:25Speaker 1: myself in certain predicaments, I can always fall back on
- 3:31Speaker 1: the same thing over and over. So while I'm sitting
- 3:35Speaker 1: here trying to figure out what to say to you,
- 3:38Speaker 1: the one thing that I did do this morning that
- 3:41Speaker 1: I find to be very consistent in me is that
- 3:45Speaker 1: I find myself grateful. I'm ever grateful for the things
- 3:51Speaker 1: that God has done for me. I may not always
- 3:55Speaker 1: know what to say, but I know how to say
- 3:58Speaker 1: thank you, I do. I know how to remember and
- 4:02Speaker 1: reflect back on where I come from. I know how
- 4:07Speaker 1: to realize where all my blessings come from. I'm very
- 4:13Speaker 1: very conscious of my journey that I've been on, though,
- 4:19Speaker 1: the one that was from then until now, that journey
- 4:23Speaker 1: right there is it's been. It's been. It's been. It's
- 4:28Speaker 1: been difficult, man, it really really has. I ain't gonna
- 4:31Speaker 1: lie to you, um me, becoming successful was very difficult.
- 4:40Speaker 1: But as hard as this is to say, I really
- 4:44Speaker 1: really mean this. I wouldn't change nothing about the trip
- 4:50Speaker 1: I've been on number one, because I can't change anything
- 4:57Speaker 1: about it. So I never lived my life and regret.
- 5:01Speaker 1: But the main thing is was I discovered along the
- 5:05Speaker 1: way now, not doing the process when you're going through
- 5:10Speaker 1: rough moments that you can't hardly see the good in
- 5:13Speaker 1: it at the time. It's just rough for you and
- 5:16Speaker 1: it seems unexplainable, and oftentimes I thought it was unfair.
- 5:20Speaker 1: But as I am now, I needed every single thing
- 5:25Speaker 1: that happened to me, that happened to me to happen
- 5:30Speaker 1: to me. I hope that makes sense to you. I
- 5:36Speaker 1: needed everything to happen in the exact order and the
- 5:40Speaker 1: exact way that it happened in order for me to
- 5:44Speaker 1: be the person that I've become. And that right there,
- 5:50Speaker 1: man is just very comforting to me. Missus Jakes told
- 5:55Speaker 1: me one time, he said, the closer you get to God,
- 5:59Speaker 1: the more friendly you all become, the more He will
- 6:03Speaker 1: reveal to you the how it comes and the what
- 6:08Speaker 1: fays of a lot of things has happened to you.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Because a lot of times what troubles us is we
- 6:14Speaker 1: just can't understand why we lost that love one back then.
- 6:18Speaker 1: We just can't understand why we didn't get what we
- 6:22Speaker 1: wanted back then. We just don't understand how come our
- 6:26Speaker 1: plan didn't work out and we had to fail so
- 6:29Speaker 1: miserably back then, we don't understand the answers to these things. Well,
- 6:34Speaker 1: the closer I've gotten to God, the more of those
- 6:37Speaker 1: explanations have become crystal clear to me. And See, the
- 6:42Speaker 1: one thing that I came to the realization everybody is
- 6:44Speaker 1: that the things that was happening to me, they wasn't
- 6:48Speaker 1: really all bad. They really wasn't that they didn't taste good.
- 6:52Speaker 1: When it was happening, I didn't enjoy what I was
- 6:55Speaker 1: going through. But as I look back on him and
- 6:58Speaker 1: reflect now, it wasn't all bad. Some of those things
- 7:00Speaker 1: was so necessary for me to get the information because say,
- 7:04Speaker 1: I don't know about you, but I'm kind of hard
- 7:06Speaker 1: headed and stubborn. I said, I don't know about you,
- 7:10Speaker 1: but I'm kind of hard headed and stubborn. I kind
- 7:14Speaker 1: of like to think that I know something about some
- 7:17Speaker 1: things every now and then, and the things I am
- 7:21Speaker 1: convinced about it. I don't really really care for people
- 7:24Speaker 1: trying to talk me off mine, so I can be
- 7:28Speaker 1: stubborn and hard headed sometimes God knows that about me,
- 7:32Speaker 1: So I think to get some of the messages crystal
- 7:35Speaker 1: clear through the me that I needed to learn. That
- 7:37Speaker 1: was this process I had to go through. That process
- 7:40Speaker 1: was my journey, It was my trip, It was my WOA,
- 7:45Speaker 1: my pain. Say, everybody got them different, It don't matter
- 7:47Speaker 1: what it is. Everybody got a WOA, everybody got a pain,
- 7:51Speaker 1: everybody got a trial, everybody got some tribulations, everybody got
- 7:55Speaker 1: some challenge. I don't care who you are, duds, Quit
- 7:57Speaker 1: looking at me thinking that I got it going own
- 8:00Speaker 1: so tough man. But if Steve, yeah, it's easy for
- 8:03Speaker 1: you to say that, but you ain't here. You don't know. Wow, Ben,
- 8:08Speaker 1: if you would stop hanging yourself up on your pass,
- 8:11Speaker 1: worrying about your woes and your troubles and the situation
- 8:15Speaker 1: you in, and start praying and start asking God to
- 8:19Speaker 1: get you through it. See a lot of times you
- 8:22Speaker 1: messed it. You messed a message up yourself, because when
- 8:24Speaker 1: you're going through some stuff, you ask God to remove
- 8:27Speaker 1: it and take it away. That ain't the lesson. You
- 8:29Speaker 1: got to learn your lesson sometimes it's it's gotta be
- 8:34Speaker 1: how to be strong, how to see it through, how
- 8:38Speaker 1: to bear under it. How to carry that weight long
- 8:42Speaker 1: distances for long periods of time. That's how you get
- 8:46Speaker 1: strong The lesson is to make you stronger. But to
- 8:49Speaker 1: make you stronger, you got to carry the weight. You
- 8:51Speaker 1: can't get stronger. You're gonna go to gym or you're
- 8:54Speaker 1: gonna do something at your house to lift your own
- 8:56Speaker 1: body weight. See, a lot of people can't even do
- 9:00Speaker 1: push ups down. They can't get down, And then the
- 9:04Speaker 1: course of a day, give you a hundred push ups
- 9:07Speaker 1: because they ain't. They ain't, they ain't never try to daybody.
- 9:11Speaker 1: They get to twenty and that shake it so bad
- 9:13Speaker 1: they stop. Who that's too much for me. Well, let
- 9:15Speaker 1: me tell you something. So I learned to quit praying
- 9:17Speaker 1: to take stuff away. My prayer became to give me
- 9:20Speaker 1: the strength to handle it. People oftentimes ask me, how
- 9:23Speaker 1: do you do all that you do in the course
- 9:25Speaker 1: of the day. I don't really know. I just know
- 9:29Speaker 1: I can because I know God don't put more on
- 9:33Speaker 1: you than you can back. So when you ask me
- 9:36Speaker 1: how you do all of what you do in the
- 9:38Speaker 1: course of the day, I got God. God is good.
- 9:42Speaker 1: He'll get you through whatever it is you're going through.
- 9:44Speaker 1: So when you're tripping in you don't know what to say.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Reflect and be grateful for all you reflect on. Think
- 9:53Speaker 1: about God's goodness and watch what He do for you.
- 9:56Speaker 1: That's the cold part. Okay, you're listening show, ladies, and justin.
- 10:03Speaker 1: The voice you are about to hear is that of
- 10:06Speaker 1: Roscoe Wallace, an old lounge singer that was alive and
- 10:11Speaker 1: well and born somewhere in the nineteen forties. He has
- 10:16Speaker 1: claimed to be the maker of most hits in the
- 10:20Speaker 1: world today. You've never seen him before. The places he
- 10:23Speaker 1: only performs at all a little well known holiday in
- 10:28Speaker 1: express lounges next to the complimentary free breakfast at Comforty
- 10:33Speaker 1: in sweets. That is his career due to bad decisions,
- 10:39Speaker 1: business decisions and fallouts with every major promoter in the
- 10:44Speaker 1: country and artists, ladies and gentlemen. This is roth Skoll Wallace,
- 10:53Speaker 1: somebody said, said over Dacity Indus streets. Because I wrote that.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Somebody told me, come on now that one really me.
- 11:09Speaker 1: See what I mean? You see what I mean? So
- 11:11Speaker 1: these are the song that I've read, the old wol
- 11:13Speaker 1: just want to say good morning everybody. Let you know
- 11:16Speaker 1: the Rosco Wallace is still in the building and no
- 11:19Speaker 1: matter what the announcer say, he don't know because why
- 11:25Speaker 1: he wasn't there. Ladies and gemmen, thank you for having me.
- 11:28Speaker 1: I'm out of here's up, Junior. We talked to Rock,
- 11:33Speaker 1: We talked to Roscoe. Maybe you wanta talk to me here?
- 11:37Speaker 1: God man, oh day baby, dude, dude, do you really
- 11:42Speaker 1: feel a lot of pride in writing everybody hits? Oh man,
- 11:45Speaker 1: oh man, you don't know what to do to me.
- 11:47Speaker 1: You just don't know. You you have no idea to
- 11:49Speaker 1: joy that that reste Niche through my soul for the
- 11:54Speaker 1: way that I help just really or done my entire
- 11:58Speaker 1: career and the hitside of you can't name it hit
- 12:01Speaker 1: Rock go ain't woke? Did you write any of Jodises heads? Well?
- 12:06Speaker 1: You know that I don't want to take credit for
- 12:08Speaker 1: because of the drinking and things like that. I'm trying
- 12:12Speaker 1: to be an example because I still play Santa Claus
- 12:15Speaker 1: down at the VHW Hall. So I don't want to,
- 12:19Speaker 1: you know, associate myself with the alcoholics that they have
- 12:23Speaker 1: become the commodore, every last one of them. That's why
- 12:27Speaker 1: I fell out with the promoters because when I showed
- 12:29Speaker 1: up to getting my reside, your checks they don't want
- 12:32Speaker 1: to pay. And that's why I've fallen out with everybody.
- 12:35Speaker 1: What kind of checks, reside, residual reside your residual tomato tomorrow?
- 12:41Speaker 1: What you won't do? All of it mean somebody got
- 12:46Speaker 1: my money, That's what I know. So what's the biggest
- 12:49Speaker 1: audience you've played? Rosco oh Man? One time I did
- 12:53Speaker 1: a wimbley wimbley reen in London. I've done all of them.
- 12:57Speaker 1: I done the old Matterson Square. You know I'm doing here,
- 13:03Speaker 1: doing all the stadiums. I did it down the Cowboys
- 13:05Speaker 1: Stadium for Jered Joan what owner? Oh you know I
- 13:08Speaker 1: did everything I did. I did wood Stock. I was
- 13:11Speaker 1: at wood Stock. I wrote all the white kids sold
- 13:14Speaker 1: every lad one a white kid nicking in the mud.
- 13:18Speaker 1: Look at your white folk value. You can't put white
- 13:21Speaker 1: folks in no dirt and no water course. They're gonna
- 13:24Speaker 1: make mud and play it every damn time. Hey you, Julian, Yeah,
- 13:30Speaker 1: I told y'all lady about the car. I know you
- 13:33Speaker 1: hate me. Rout in the mouth, all right, coming up
- 13:39Speaker 1: with thirty two minutes after the hour, we'll have run
- 13:41Speaker 1: that brank back with the nephew. Right after this. You're
- 13:45Speaker 1: listening Stave Harpy Morning Show. All right, guys, time now
- 13:49Speaker 1: for run that brank back with the nephew. What you
- 13:52Speaker 1: got for us? Naff Coppa's funeral at the club. Coppa's
- 13:56Speaker 1: funeral at the club. Let's go cat down. Yeah, I'm
- 14:01Speaker 1: trying to reach your James, James, James, Yeah, yeah, what's up? Hey?
- 14:06Speaker 1: This this is a Gerald. Uh. I was a friend
- 14:10Speaker 1: of uh uh your your friend Chopper? Yeah yeah, and
- 14:14Speaker 1: the Chopper just uh passed away last week, right, I
- 14:20Speaker 1: know they posed how the funeral and stuff over at
- 14:23Speaker 1: uh at mom Baptist Church and uh, I don't really
- 14:27Speaker 1: know you, but me, me and me and Chopper and
- 14:29Speaker 1: a bunch of restos. Man, we used to hang out
- 14:31Speaker 1: at the club not too far from the house. You know.
- 14:33Speaker 1: That's pretty much with chopping wood all the time. And
- 14:37Speaker 1: at the club anyway, what a bunch of us was
- 14:39Speaker 1: over at the club talking man, and I was we
- 14:42Speaker 1: was really want to reach out to one of the
- 14:44Speaker 1: family members, you know, And then somebody said you was,
- 14:46Speaker 1: you know, kind of a good friend of Hells And
- 14:50Speaker 1: when we we we we decided to call you and
- 14:52Speaker 1: see if you didn't mind. Do you think that you
- 14:56Speaker 1: can talk to uh, some of the family members and
- 15:01Speaker 1: see if they don't mind having the funeral at the club.
- 15:07Speaker 1: At the club. See what, let me let me try
- 15:10Speaker 1: to explain something to you, Jane. What we're trying to
- 15:13Speaker 1: do is, see, we believe that we believed you said
- 15:17Speaker 1: at the club. Come on the club, there's a funeral.
- 15:21Speaker 1: What that's what I understand it. But see, see, Chop
- 15:25Speaker 1: Choppa ain't really go to church a whole lot. You
- 15:27Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. He didn't really really go long
- 15:29Speaker 1: as I've been knowing him. Now, he loved a lord
- 15:32Speaker 1: and stuff like that, I understand. But see, Chopper wouldn't
- 15:39Speaker 1: Chop Chopper went to the club. So what I'm asking
- 15:42Speaker 1: you will, let's have the funeral at the club. Hell, no, bro,
- 15:47Speaker 1: come on, we can't have no funeral at no club. Man,
- 15:51Speaker 1: come on, no, no, o't. But but what what I'm
- 15:55Speaker 1: saying is, though, is that he wasn't really he wasn't
- 15:58Speaker 1: really no church going person. I believe that a person
- 16:02Speaker 1: ought to be Uh. The last words are to be
- 16:05Speaker 1: said over him in a place he's more familiar with.
- 16:09Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, player, player, No, I don't.
- 16:12Speaker 1: I don't know what you mean player out. No, just
- 16:14Speaker 1: just gotta be a funeral. This is this is church,
- 16:16Speaker 1: for I go to church and all my folks go
- 16:18Speaker 1: to church. Now we we gotta do this thing up
- 16:20Speaker 1: in church. This is a church thing. But you don't,
- 16:23Speaker 1: you don't feel But do you understand where I'm coming from? No,
- 16:25Speaker 1: that man ought to going on and and the last
- 16:27Speaker 1: words are to be in a place he more familiar.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Now if he went to church, then I understand that.
- 16:33Speaker 1: You see him bro Hell no, no, see this his
- 16:36Speaker 1: chance to get itself right. And we don't. We don't
- 16:39Speaker 1: have him up in church in front of everybody. You know,
- 16:43Speaker 1: that don't make sense? Who's this again? I mean who
- 16:45Speaker 1: are you? My name Gerald? But who is Gerald? I mean?
- 16:49Speaker 1: How do you? How do you relate to this? Are
- 16:51Speaker 1: you preach your are you no? No? Are you no? No? No, no,
- 16:55Speaker 1: I'm I'm I was friends with Chopper, and see I
- 16:57Speaker 1: hung out at the club and still hanging out them
- 17:00Speaker 1: with a whole bunch of you know, was real good
- 17:03Speaker 1: friends with Chopping, and we were saying that, you know,
- 17:06Speaker 1: Chopper's the lad's words about Chopper or to be said
- 17:09Speaker 1: at the club, because see that's what Chopper would but
- 17:11Speaker 1: five six days a week. That's what Chopper was. Yeah,
- 17:14Speaker 1: but what church are you affiliated with? I mean what
- 17:17Speaker 1: I want to hell, what I try to talk to
- 17:20Speaker 1: the family. Make me look stupid in front of the family,
- 17:23Speaker 1: telling them to put the thing in a club. How
- 17:25Speaker 1: that gonna go off? Well? See, see that's what I'm saying.
- 17:28Speaker 1: You know them way more than we do, because see
- 17:30Speaker 1: that you're talking about trying to move from a damn
- 17:33Speaker 1: funeral add a church to a damn nightclub or strip
- 17:36Speaker 1: club or something. No, no, no strip club, just a nightclub.
- 17:39Speaker 1: It's the same, ain't it. I mean you talking about
- 17:42Speaker 1: having folks traveled from across the country and meeting into
- 17:46Speaker 1: the damn club. What kind of that? But that's what
- 17:49Speaker 1: Choppa was, That's what Chopper was. I'm gonna look, if
- 17:53Speaker 1: I'm the one telling them to root it to the
- 17:55Speaker 1: damn club, You're gonna look like somebody that's trying to
- 17:58Speaker 1: I'm gonna look like a fool. No you're not. You're
- 18:00Speaker 1: gonna look like somebody that's trying to keep it real.
- 18:03Speaker 1: Come to the damn feeling. If I will to do
- 18:05Speaker 1: something like that, Okay, okay, let me ask you this, Hi,
- 18:07Speaker 1: then let me ask you this, Hill or Jane, do
- 18:10Speaker 1: you think do you think you can maybe get the
- 18:13Speaker 1: body and bring it over to the club. No, hell knows. Well,
- 18:18Speaker 1: I'm just saying before they even do the funeral or whatever.
- 18:21Speaker 1: You know, I ain't touching getting the walk in the
- 18:25Speaker 1: dog by my self body for hell. No, we're just
- 18:30Speaker 1: trying to say our last words at chopper Man in
- 18:32Speaker 1: a place that chopper most no healer again? Who you
- 18:37Speaker 1: you get my number? Somebody at the club had your numbers,
- 18:40Speaker 1: said you was print. But why y'all call me? Of
- 18:43Speaker 1: all folks, y'all call me, They say you good. You
- 18:46Speaker 1: in with the family and you can tell me the family.
- 18:49Speaker 1: But I ain't end in the family. Make me look stupid?
- 18:52Speaker 1: Hell now, won't y'all I get y'all of them to
- 18:55Speaker 1: the family. Y'all call the family. Y'all tell me that yourself? Man,
- 18:59Speaker 1: I won't. I just trying to get you to brain
- 19:01Speaker 1: the body by man and let us no, I ain't
- 19:03Speaker 1: touching no dead body. We just want to have one, lads,
- 19:07Speaker 1: drink with chopper Man. You have one with your boys,
- 19:09Speaker 1: and you you get together with him and y'all talk
- 19:13Speaker 1: about bottom and let him know. I Chopper one. What
- 19:16Speaker 1: kind of prison was? What kind of prison? But we
- 19:18Speaker 1: need to we won't chop up to be there? This Chopper,
- 19:21Speaker 1: This is Chopper you talking about? Man, Bring y'all to
- 19:25Speaker 1: the church. Y'all need to be up in the church.
- 19:28Speaker 1: We want to have a Chopper at the club. Well,
- 19:30Speaker 1: we didn't know them all, man, y'all full of well,
- 19:33Speaker 1: we know my cubple have my looking like a fool
- 19:36Speaker 1: at the damn funeral? What this about Chopper though? And
- 19:39Speaker 1: then I'm writing about Chopper. You'll break Chopper to that club,
- 19:43Speaker 1: y'all tripping? Man, I ain't doing I'm just going to
- 19:46Speaker 1: this funeral. I don'm gonna care to say what I
- 19:48Speaker 1: think about Chopping. And I'm going, son, if y'all want
- 19:51Speaker 1: to crazy in front of town of y'all call the
- 19:53Speaker 1: tail of y'all selling you this look, I got one
- 19:56Speaker 1: more thing I want to see. I don't even know you.
- 19:58Speaker 1: Well what what what this is? Nephew tim Me from
- 20:02Speaker 1: the Steve Harvey Morning Show. You just got pranked by
- 20:06Speaker 1: your board? O this nephew tim Me, man from the
- 20:14Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. Your board told me to prank you. Man,
- 20:21Speaker 1: I just know James. This is nephew, Tim No, no playoff?
- 20:28Speaker 1: Oh man, I can't believe this. No, he didn't. I
- 20:33Speaker 1: can't even believe he did that. Hey man, I got
- 20:35Speaker 1: one more thing to ask you, man, what is what
- 20:39Speaker 1: is the baddest radio show in the land? The Steve
- 20:43Speaker 1: Harvey Moaning Show? All right, thinking neph coming up next,
- 20:53Speaker 1: asked the cello with Chief Love Officer to Steve Harvey

- 21:22Speaker 1: the Chief Love Officer, Steve Harvey. Ready for your love questions?
- 21:27Speaker 1: Quitta And Dallas writes, I got my master's degree, Quita,

- 21:44Speaker 1: And Dallas says, I got my master's degree and I'm
- 21:47Speaker 1: a teacher at the high school I graduated from. I
- 21:51Speaker 1: was that my problem? Surprisingly, one of my male teachers,
- 21:55Speaker 1: is still working at the school. He comes in by
- 21:58Speaker 1: my classroom. He comes by my classroom a lot and
- 22:00Speaker 1: compliments me daily. I just turned twenty eight, and he's
- 22:04Speaker 1: got to be my parent's age. But there's something about
- 22:07Speaker 1: him that excites me. He never got married and he
- 22:11Speaker 1: doesn't have any children. So he tells me he wants
- 22:14Speaker 1: to spoil me. I just might let him. Is that weird? Well,
- 22:18Speaker 1: let me tell you what're weird here? School. There's something
- 22:22Speaker 1: about him quitter, and he's never been married, and he
- 22:27Speaker 1: has no kids. I would be more concerned with the
- 22:30Speaker 1: what it is about him factor that you're not What
- 22:35Speaker 1: is it about him that he's never been married, he
- 22:38Speaker 1: has no children, and now he won't one of the kids.
- 22:42Speaker 1: He taught you need to work. You knew you need
- 22:46Speaker 1: to work. In some more questions, Wow, yeah, he wants
- 22:54Speaker 1: to spoil you. Hell yeah, I bet he do. I
- 22:57Speaker 1: bet he do. Let that go, all right? Moving on
- 23:03Speaker 1: to Melinda in Tampa, who says, I've been in a
- 23:07Speaker 1: three way love affair for a long time. My husband
- 23:11Speaker 1: and I have a housemate living with us, and she
- 23:13Speaker 1: mostly spends time with my husband. I'm older now and
- 23:16Speaker 1: I'm rarely interested in participating in their shenanigan, So I
- 23:20Speaker 1: moved into the other guest room. My husband is in
- 23:23Speaker 1: the main bedroom by himself and recently asked me if
- 23:27Speaker 1: i'd mind if our housemates slept with him all night.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Is this his way of sliding her into my current position? What? Man?
- 23:38Speaker 1: What I do they say? When it's gone? Lady? Yeah?
- 23:46Speaker 1: Is this his way of sliding her into my main position? Um?
- 23:52Speaker 1: What position do you have? I mean, I don't understand, y'all. Lady,
- 24:00Speaker 1: Then let me play something to you. I don't kill
- 24:03Speaker 1: what you do. I really don't, because you don't went
- 24:06Speaker 1: along with this foolness, foolishness and you calling it you
- 24:09Speaker 1: don't want to get involved in nation out of it, Well,
- 24:12Speaker 1: don't drag us in yours. We don't know. I don't know,
- 24:16Speaker 1: nor do I care. Now I'll have an answer for you.
- 24:19Speaker 1: I got no time for this damn foolishness. I don't
- 24:22Speaker 1: know what the hell are you talking about. I can't
- 24:24Speaker 1: go in there and say that to Madre at no
- 24:27Speaker 1: damn point in my life, I don't even know how to.
- 24:31Speaker 1: And let me tell you something. I have like really
- 24:34Speaker 1: really large limps and I have no idea how I
- 24:37Speaker 1: con form any piece of the lip fat to say
- 24:41Speaker 1: nothing you just said or what he just said? Ain't
- 24:45Speaker 1: nowhere in the hell do you manage coming in and
- 24:48Speaker 1: sleep with me all night? Is that all right? Is
- 24:51Speaker 1: that all right? That all right? The fact that he
- 24:56Speaker 1: can ask you that, what's going on for a long time? Yeah,
- 25:01Speaker 1: she's just she's just done with it now. I'm old
- 25:04Speaker 1: and I'm tired of that, okay. And she moved into
- 25:07Speaker 1: the guest house. She moved can move housemaid in. I
- 25:14Speaker 1: don't even know how to do what pamper is it?
- 25:17Speaker 1: But why specifically you trying to help? Moving on bam
- 25:29Speaker 1: and Raleigh says, I'm a single parent of a seventeen
- 25:32Speaker 1: year old son. And he drove my car over the weekend,
- 25:35Speaker 1: and apparently he was fooling around in there, because there
- 25:38Speaker 1: were long strings of weave on the back seat and
- 25:40Speaker 1: a bobby pin on the floor. I asked him why
- 25:43Speaker 1: my car was left so messy, and he said because
- 25:46Speaker 1: he was making out in the back seat. My heart
- 25:50Speaker 1: stopped h Then he said he'd never lie to me
- 25:53Speaker 1: and asked if I'd rather he brings his girlfriend to
- 25:56Speaker 1: his bedroom or if they did it in a car.
- 25:59Speaker 1: I'm still speachless. How do I handle him? But what
- 26:02Speaker 1: you mean handling? You can't handle him? He handling? Huh?
- 26:07Speaker 1: He doing all his handling outside in the car. He
- 26:09Speaker 1: wouldn't know if he can start handling it in his room. See,
- 26:13Speaker 1: you know it's a little too late. What what what
- 26:16Speaker 1: you're trying to raise him for? Now? You gave him
- 26:19Speaker 1: the car, The weave strands is in the back seat
- 26:22Speaker 1: and the bobby pier. You asked the boy, why is
- 26:25Speaker 1: the back seat so messy? He said, Come, I was
- 26:27Speaker 1: back there fooling up having sex. Back there, Mama, Now
- 26:33Speaker 1: you didn't know what to do. They was having sex.
- 26:36Speaker 1: So now, since you're looking crazy, he said, he never
- 26:40Speaker 1: lied to you. If you don't want your car messed up?
- 26:42Speaker 1: Would your mind if I come in here and mess
- 26:44Speaker 1: up these Spider Man sheets or mine? Because that's where
- 26:47Speaker 1: I really want to go up. I want to tell
- 26:48Speaker 1: these hoop posters off the wall and put some real
- 26:52Speaker 1: imprints up on the wall. I was some booted cheeks
- 26:54Speaker 1: on my wall. Mama. I don't do things I used
- 26:58Speaker 1: to do in my room. I'm in my room. I'm
- 27:01Speaker 1: having other kind of thoughts. Yeah, you're my little man.
- 27:06Speaker 1: You know I'm single. You're my only man. You're my
- 27:08Speaker 1: little man. Well they're high acting now he acted like
- 27:12Speaker 1: a little man. He's seventeen and he back there. We've
- 27:16Speaker 1: had Bobby Penn, So how should she handle him? It's
- 27:21Speaker 1: too late, But that girl got to get her hair
- 27:25Speaker 1: together though, just too much fallen out of it. Did
- 27:29Speaker 1: you stop? So there's nothing she can do now it's
- 27:36Speaker 1: too late. Well, yeah, I can tell you this right here.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Once a young man has been introduced to the golden egg,
- 27:45Speaker 1: ain't no going back. It's more how to come. Yeah here,
- 27:50Speaker 1: you you can't stop. You don't stop having sex once
- 27:53Speaker 1: you had it, because that's your whole goal in life.
- 27:56Speaker 1: Now seventeen stopped letting it use the car or tell
- 28:01Speaker 1: him it don't matter. You ain't gotta let him use
- 28:03Speaker 1: a car. He's gonna steal it. You need a vacuum.
- 28:06Speaker 1: He gonna take it while you sleep. He gonna be
- 28:10Speaker 1: and he's gonna bring it back and tell you Mama.
- 28:11Speaker 1: Ain't gonna lie to y'all. Took your car while you sleep.
- 28:15Speaker 1: He ain't. He don't lie to you. Raised a good
- 28:18Speaker 1: little boy. He will tell you the truth. And he
- 28:19Speaker 1: think y'all got that type of relationship, y'all talk about everything. Remember,
- 28:23Speaker 1: remember you could come to your mama with anything. Well, Mama,
- 28:25Speaker 1: I'm having sex in the back of the car now
- 28:29Speaker 1: and I don't really know how to get her from shedding.
- 28:31Speaker 1: So do you have any suggestions? What kind of hair
- 28:36Speaker 1: product should she use? Mama? If she used Burgermont or Poline, Well,
- 28:42Speaker 1: let's slow it down because I know that's what you
- 28:44Speaker 1: used to well Burgmont. Wow. Yeah, she's got a problem
- 28:52Speaker 1: with this young man. There is definitely a problem there.
- 28:59Speaker 1: All right, Well that's it. Huh. Yeah, he's been introduced
- 29:04Speaker 1: to it, and now at this point he is he
- 29:07Speaker 1: is now, Yeah, he owns it is his quest. The
- 29:10Speaker 1: rest of his life is none you could do about it.
- 29:14Speaker 1: You can entertainment news at the top of the hour.
- 29:20Speaker 1: Right after this, you're listening to the morning show Growing Up.
- 29:26Speaker 1: At twenty minutes after the hour, we had a very
- 29:29Speaker 1: special guest, Miss Jill Scott. Haven't heard Scott will be
- 29:35Speaker 1: in the building. She's going to join us to tell
- 29:38Speaker 1: us about a brand new movie. Uh, and we'll talk
- 29:41Speaker 1: about it. But right now, let's go to some entertainment news. Um. Wow.
- 29:46Speaker 1: Although Joe Exotic, the star of Tiger King has been
- 29:49Speaker 1: in jail for quite a while now, he's still a
- 29:52Speaker 1: trending topic and because of that, Netflix is slated to
- 29:55Speaker 1: release the sequel, Tiger King Too. This is going down
- 29:59Speaker 1: November seven, teh, like I said on Netflix, and according
- 30:02Speaker 1: to Tiger King to trailer, it's filled with more footage
- 30:07Speaker 1: that we didn't get to see in the first Tiger
- 30:10Speaker 1: King series season. She takes a deeper look into the
- 30:12Speaker 1: mysterious disappearance of Carol Baskin's first husband, Don Lewis, back
- 30:18Speaker 1: in nineteen ninety seven. Although Joe Exotic is still in
- 30:22Speaker 1: prison since twenty two years for a murder for higher skiing,
- 30:25Speaker 1: his presence is all throughout the trailer for Tiger King two,
- 30:29Speaker 1: and there's telephone audio of him from a Texas prison.
- 30:34Speaker 1: Shortly after Nextflix released the official trailer for Tiger King
- 30:38Speaker 1: to Carol Baskins sued the production company, insisting that the
- 30:42Speaker 1: producers and Netflix cut out all footage of her for
- 30:46Speaker 1: the sequel. We all have to see how this turns out.
- 30:50Speaker 1: So are you guys gonna watch it jail? Yes? What
- 30:54Speaker 1: has she done with it? We want to know? Yes? Yeah,
- 30:58Speaker 1: she going to jail. I knew she's going to yell
- 31:00Speaker 1: when she's on Dance with the Star, her bad dancing
- 31:03Speaker 1: ass with all that tiders the phone, Take that animal
- 31:07Speaker 1: print off and get your old ass off this show.
- 31:09Speaker 1: WHI is you on the show Dance with the Stars.
- 31:14Speaker 1: She couldn't couldn't even have been on Crawling with the Animals.
- 31:18Speaker 1: You should have been helping stars show. Non dancing ass
- 31:23Speaker 1: out here like you got something wrong with you? Dancing
- 31:25Speaker 1: like she got restricted movements. Yeah, we won't answer. Yeah
- 31:33Speaker 1: she going. I didn't see the first one. What I
- 31:41Speaker 1: did tell you something? You know, I don't watch nothing.
- 31:44Speaker 1: But that was during the pandemic. We were all missed
- 31:47Speaker 1: one of the great pieces of bullcrap to come on TV.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Right there. You miss one of the great piz Tommy.
- 31:57Speaker 1: It's unbelievable, unbelief. Hu had the raggedest mouth, this glass man.
- 32:06Speaker 1: I'm sitting here, I'm trying to figure out who picked him.
- 32:09Speaker 1: I don't care watch you who you love, but who
- 32:12Speaker 1: picked him? With these meth infested teeth? He guy he
- 32:16Speaker 1: didn't have a tooth that wasn't rotten in his head. Tommy, Wow,
- 32:21Speaker 1: it was bad, Tommy. It was like watching a bad
- 32:24Speaker 1: car accident. You know when you're driving, you know you're
- 32:26Speaker 1: not supposed to look after blow down just a little bit.
- 32:32Speaker 1: You're looking at this show, like why am I watching this?
- 32:34Speaker 1: I know? Remember how they fed the animals with like
- 32:37Speaker 1: discarded meat from like Walmart and the dumpster and they
- 32:41Speaker 1: go in the dumpster and get the meat and that's
- 32:42Speaker 1: how they feed the animals. It was just it was
- 32:46Speaker 1: compelling TV. That's all I can tell you. You could
- 32:50Speaker 1: not watch it. And where it's done, which one, Oh yeah,
- 32:57Speaker 1: we're done. He's still miss we's done. That's what I'm saying.
- 33:00Speaker 1: We won't ask all we want to know we do disappear. Yeah,
- 33:04Speaker 1: well she has her way, it won't come on TV.
- 33:07Speaker 1: But I don't think she's going to get her way,
- 33:09Speaker 1: all right. So, and even stranger news guys, a white
- 33:12Speaker 1: man named David Duval sued his former employer after he
- 33:16Speaker 1: was terminated. He alleged he was fired because he is white.
- 33:21Speaker 1: And get this, he was awarded ten million dollars in
- 33:25Speaker 1: his lawsuit. Now. According to NBC News, David Duval, a
- 33:29Speaker 1: white hospital executive, was fired back in twenty nineteen and
- 33:33Speaker 1: alleged he was fired without reason as part of an
- 33:36Speaker 1: intentional campaign to promote diversity in its management ranks. He
- 33:41Speaker 1: also alleged he was fired because of his sex and gender.
- 33:44Speaker 1: Duval testified that he was fired just before his fifth
- 33:48Speaker 1: anniversary with the company, where he would be entitled to
- 33:52Speaker 1: a larger severance package. He says he was replaced by
- 33:55Speaker 1: a black woman and a white woman. Duval also stated
- 33:59Speaker 1: at the firing violated part of the Civil Rights Act.
- 34:03Speaker 1: The Winston Salem, North Carolina based company Novant Health denied
- 34:08Speaker 1: the allegations and maintained that Duval was fired for inadequate
- 34:12Speaker 1: performance and for delegating critical tasks to those he managed. Okay,
- 34:16Speaker 1: that's why they said they fired him. Ultimately, the jury
- 34:20Speaker 1: rule that either race or sex was a factor in
- 34:23Speaker 1: duvals termination and side it with him. M he'd got
- 34:29Speaker 1: his own Benjamin Crump didn't mean yes, wow, yeah, So
- 34:34Speaker 1: I gotta ask you, Judge, Steve. This sounds like a
- 34:37Speaker 1: perfect case for you. Get ready ready, because here they come.
- 34:44Speaker 1: How would you have handled this? See? Well, I wouldn't
- 34:46Speaker 1: have threw it out. M The whole time he'd have
- 34:52Speaker 1: been talking out had just been saying so slow solo
- 34:58Speaker 1: to the club home. Yeah yeah, oh you're mad. About dad.
- 35:03Speaker 1: Oh well we've been mad. Well, thank you for the
- 35:05Speaker 1: next case. Yeah right, I love it, I love right.
- 35:20Speaker 1: I love how they said he was really fired for
- 35:22Speaker 1: inadequate performances because he wasn't doing his job and he
- 35:27Speaker 1: delegated critical tasks to those he managed. Well, that's probably true. No,
- 35:32Speaker 1: it's true, that's true. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Ten million? Wow, Yeah,
- 35:40Speaker 1: he got ten million dollars. Isn't that crazy? Boy? A
- 35:47Speaker 1: black person going, they're talking about I got five for race? Yeah,
- 35:50Speaker 1: you show did because I'm black? Yea. And ain't that
- 35:56Speaker 1: what we've been doing? Right? All right? All right, guys.
- 36:01Speaker 1: Coming up next, Jill Scott joins us to talk about
- 36:04Speaker 1: her new Lifetime movie, Highway to Heaven. Right after this
- 36:08Speaker 1: you're listening show. As promised everybody, we got our very
- 36:13Speaker 1: very special guests on the phone. She's family three times
- 36:16Speaker 1: Grammy Award winning singer songwriter. She's a New York Times
- 36:19Speaker 1: bestselling poet, a multi media entrepreneur, and a critically acclaimed actress.
- 36:26Speaker 1: This girl got chopped for real man. Her newest project
- 36:29Speaker 1: is a Lifetime's original movie, Highway to Heaven, and it's
- 36:32Speaker 1: a reboot of the iconic television series from the eighties.
- 36:36Speaker 1: She not only stars in it, she's also an executive producer.
- 36:40Speaker 1: That's another hat keep reinventing herself. The Highway to Heaven premiers.
- 36:46Speaker 1: Highway to Heaven premieres this Saturday. Everybody, November six, we're
- 36:51Speaker 1: gonna find out more about it. Ladies and gentlemen, one
- 36:55Speaker 1: of the great artists of our times. Please put your
- 36:57Speaker 1: hands together for the family member our girl, Miss Jill Scott. Morning,
- 37:06Speaker 1: good morning. That was awesome. Money man you are you
- 37:11Speaker 1: made me sound good girl. I'm trying to you a
- 37:14Speaker 1: nationwide man. I will go out and get some damn insurance.
- 37:24Speaker 1: It's the most soulful, damn commercial for insurance I've ever heard.
- 37:30Speaker 1: He asked me, blowing. Thank you. Hey, let's talk about
- 37:37Speaker 1: this your new movie, A lifetimes Highway to Heaven. It's
- 37:40Speaker 1: rebooted the classic or eighties Highway to Heaven TV series,
- 37:44Speaker 1: and you play the role of Angela and the angel
- 37:46Speaker 1: is sent back to Earth by God to help othersn't
- 37:49Speaker 1: need tell us more about the movie. Um The is
- 37:52Speaker 1: about an angel that is coming to do her work.
- 37:56Speaker 1: She doesn't know why, um or who. She just knows
- 38:00Speaker 1: that she has a job to do and people that
- 38:04Speaker 1: she's helping thus far. They have a greater purpose in
- 38:08Speaker 1: this world, and she wants to assist them. I did
- 38:12Speaker 1: the film because I thought, man, it has been so
- 38:16Speaker 1: up these last couple of years. It's been very frustrating
- 38:20Speaker 1: there and dark, and it can feel hopeless in a
- 38:23Speaker 1: lot of ways. So I wanted to do something that
- 38:26Speaker 1: was sweethearted that would remind people that they can be
- 38:31Speaker 1: angelic too, being an angel to somebody. You don't know how,
- 38:35Speaker 1: you don't know when, but you know there's there's always
- 38:38Speaker 1: that opportunity to do good. Wow, you know what. A
- 38:42Speaker 1: lot of us remember the old eighties TV series, But
- 38:46Speaker 1: when when a person watches this show for new viewers, well,
- 38:50Speaker 1: what do you hope to take away for them? Is? Oh, man,
- 38:55Speaker 1: I hope they feel good. I hope they feel good
- 38:58Speaker 1: and recognize that there is there is a sweetness and
- 39:03Speaker 1: a power to all of us, and that that kindness
- 39:07Speaker 1: in time to someone. Yeo, yeah, that seems to be
- 39:14Speaker 1: missing these days. And I do think it's a good
- 39:16Speaker 1: idea to have something like that, because you're right, man,
- 39:18Speaker 1: it's just been a rough two years. Hey hang on, Jill,
- 39:21Speaker 1: Hey everybody, hang on. We're coming back with more with
- 39:23Speaker 1: Jill Scott right after this. You're listening, all right, everybody, Oh,
- 39:31Speaker 1: we're back in our special guests on the phone is
- 39:33Speaker 1: a New York Times bestselling poet, author, entrepreneur, and they're
- 39:39Speaker 1: gonna flat out damn Soul single Come on here, boy,
- 39:43Speaker 1: come on here skip Neo Soul and all that damn
- 39:47Speaker 1: Soul single you didn't get to. If you don't know
- 39:51Speaker 1: the hit, you need to familiar yourself to familiarize yourself
- 39:54Speaker 1: with them. She's on the phone today and she's talking
- 39:57Speaker 1: about the new movie on Lifetime call Highway to Heaven,
- 40:01Speaker 1: and she's executive producer on the movie. And let's talk
- 40:03Speaker 1: about that part of it, Jail, because now you're the
- 40:07Speaker 1: star of the movie, but you're also the executive producer
- 40:11Speaker 1: of the movie. Did you find it rewarding or was
- 40:14Speaker 1: it challenging for you? What was your role here? Oh?
- 40:17Speaker 1: I loved it. What I did was made some decisions.
- 40:22Speaker 1: As you know, sets can be very challenging. Um, not
- 40:29Speaker 1: just that, just to say it lightly. You know, the
- 40:32Speaker 1: hours can be really long, the energy can be this
- 40:36Speaker 1: kind of negative or foul, just trying to get through it.
- 40:41Speaker 1: And I didn't want that, so I wanted to make
- 40:43Speaker 1: sure that the energy was high and that the camaraderie
- 40:47Speaker 1: was there, because if the cameraman don't show up, we
- 40:50Speaker 1: ain't got no film. You know what I'm saying, right,
- 40:54Speaker 1: I wanted to create a team environment and that's what
- 40:58Speaker 1: we've done. So this is the first of several. There
- 41:01Speaker 1: will be more highway to have it because the p
- 41:04Speaker 1: vibe is good. Um, so there you have it. Wow.
- 41:09Speaker 1: I'll say it means making everybody seem valued and important,
- 41:17Speaker 1: and that's what I did it as executive produce. It
- 41:21Speaker 1: also saw also little things like, um, when it came
- 41:25Speaker 1: to Angela as an actress, as when it came to Angela,
- 41:28Speaker 1: I did not want her to be perfect because maybe
- 41:31Speaker 1: you know, there's this concept that that angels are supposed
- 41:34Speaker 1: to be perfect. Angels, you know, are placed here and
- 41:38Speaker 1: resemble people with flaw, all of us, every last one

- 42:28Speaker 1: So I was waiting for producers that understand a hook
- 42:33Speaker 1: of verse bridges. I was waiting for for producers that
- 42:37Speaker 1: you know, you know how to play instruments, and that's
- 42:40Speaker 1: no disrespect anybody else because they also know how to
- 42:43Speaker 1: push all the buttons, which is great too. But I

- 44:53Speaker 1: guess who's moving next door? Cat dog? Let's go Hello.
- 44:58Speaker 1: I'm trying to reach uh mister Dolphin Dolan, Nolan Dolan,
- 45:04Speaker 1: mister Dolan, Yes, sir, how are you doing? My name
- 45:06Speaker 1: is uh Clifford Cooper. Yeah. What can I do for you? Mister? Uh?
- 45:12Speaker 1: You you you live at uh uh check you out
- 45:16Speaker 1: a drawn? Why do you want to know that? Uh? Well,
- 45:19Speaker 1: actually I'm at sixteen twenty three. I bought I bought
- 45:22Speaker 1: the uh, I actually bought the house that was for
- 45:25Speaker 1: sale next door to you. Okay, well, congratulations, But how
- 45:28Speaker 1: did you get my number? Actually the realtor told me
- 45:31Speaker 1: that he had your number because I said I wanted
- 45:34Speaker 1: to reach out to the neighbor's next door and he
- 45:37Speaker 1: told me that mister Dolan was actually the person next
- 45:39Speaker 1: door and and uh he didn't think you would mind
- 45:42Speaker 1: me me actually getting the number. Okay, well I'll talk
- 45:45Speaker 1: with the real little layer. But what can I do
- 45:47Speaker 1: for you? Sir? What? What? What? I What I wanted
- 45:49Speaker 1: to know is do do you have any problems? Like
- 45:51Speaker 1: living next door to to to black people. I'm sorry,
- 45:55Speaker 1: what did you just ask me? I mean, like, like
- 45:58Speaker 1: I said, you know, like I said, I just bought
- 45:59Speaker 1: the play is next though, And I want to know,
- 46:01Speaker 1: do you have any problems, you know, living next door
- 46:04Speaker 1: the black people? Uh? No, sir, I have no problem.
- 46:08Speaker 1: I'm assuming you're a black man, and uh I have
- 46:11Speaker 1: no problem with that. I judge people by their actions,
- 46:14Speaker 1: not their color. Okay, now do you do you do
- 46:16Speaker 1: you have any any black people experience? Well, yeah, I've
- 46:20Speaker 1: worked with, gone to school with, have several friends of
- 46:23Speaker 1: many different ethnicities. Uh, but what what is it? What's this?
- 46:28Speaker 1: How is this relative? Well? You know, like I say,
- 46:30Speaker 1: I'm gonna be I'm gonna be living next to you,
- 46:32Speaker 1: and I'm just making sure that you know, you and
- 46:34Speaker 1: I can coincide, co exist rather on the same block
- 46:39Speaker 1: and not really have a problem with one another basis.
- 46:41Speaker 1: But what I'm trying to say, well, do you have
- 46:43Speaker 1: a problem with white people? Uh? No, No, No, I
- 46:45Speaker 1: don't have problem with white people. Uh. I'm cool. I'm
- 46:48Speaker 1: just I'm just trying to make sure you know, Uh,
- 46:51Speaker 1: I mean, because me and you already have a bit
- 46:53Speaker 1: of a problem already you know all we do. Yeah, yeah,
- 46:56Speaker 1: we we have a problem. I mean, I'm about about
- 46:59Speaker 1: it in me while on that work. What's your problem? Okay?
- 47:02Speaker 1: Well my problem is this is that, you know, after
- 47:05Speaker 1: purchasing the property, I went downtown to the city and
- 47:09Speaker 1: actually looked at, you know, the layout of this entire property.
- 47:13Speaker 1: And when I look at it, you actually twenty five
- 47:16Speaker 1: close to thirty feet over the property line. Well, now
- 47:20Speaker 1: you look at the wrong map. No, No, the fifth
- 47:22Speaker 1: that separates my backyard from your backyard. You are thirty
- 47:26Speaker 1: feet over that. That's impossible, you know. Listen, and I noticed.
- 47:30Speaker 1: Now let me let me know. I'm gonna tell you.
- 47:32Speaker 1: Look at you got a jacouzi in your backyard, right,
- 47:35Speaker 1: so you've been even spine on me. No, I'm inspired
- 47:38Speaker 1: on you, sir. I'm just telling you close to that,
- 47:41Speaker 1: not far from that fifth line. Don't don't you have
- 47:43Speaker 1: a jakouzi there? Well, as a matter of fact, I do. Yes, Okay, Now,
- 47:48Speaker 1: the pools, the poolers. Okay, But but if I if
- 47:51Speaker 1: I pushed that fisth line back thirty and actually get
- 47:54Speaker 1: the property that I'm supposed to have, well I'm pretty
- 47:56Speaker 1: much own yo yo yo, Jakouz. You' hot to Nacy. Okay,
- 48:01Speaker 1: let me tell you something. I've been in that house
- 48:03Speaker 1: for ten years. We put that sense up when we
- 48:06Speaker 1: moved in, and it was based on the property line
- 48:09Speaker 1: that was that was set when ten years ago. I
- 48:13Speaker 1: don't know what you're looking at, but my fence is
- 48:15Speaker 1: not moving, My jacuzi is not moving, and there's there's
- 48:19Speaker 1: no changing that. Okay, Well, let me let me let
- 48:22Speaker 1: me I'm glad you hear your voice what you wanted
- 48:24Speaker 1: the voice. No, no, no, no, you hear you heal
- 48:27Speaker 1: Old Cliff at let me tell you so. Uh, Either
- 48:30Speaker 1: we're gonna take the fence line and moving where supposed
- 48:33Speaker 1: to be. Oh, We're gonna put a gate between uh
- 48:37Speaker 1: two yards, and I'm gonna be able to come and
- 48:39Speaker 1: get in this jacozy and pool whenever I want to.
- 48:42Speaker 1: All right, let's let's let's let's talk about this. First
- 48:44Speaker 1: of all, there's gonna not gonna be a gate, okay.
- 48:48Speaker 1: And as far as you just coming over and getting
- 48:50Speaker 1: into jacuzi at will, I got a real problem with that.
- 48:54Speaker 1: Uh you've called me at work. I'm on the job
- 48:57Speaker 1: and I'm having to listen to this on a future
- 49:00Speaker 1: neighbor who's making weird claims about how he owns part
- 49:05Speaker 1: of my lamp got bad. I own the jacouzy. S No, no,
- 49:10Speaker 1: you did not pay for that jacouzi. You did not
- 49:13Speaker 1: pay for that tense. You just showt up making a
- 49:15Speaker 1: He called me at work, and and and and and
- 49:18Speaker 1: then you hand me some story with no evidence. I
- 49:22Speaker 1: don't go down to the city hall and look at
- 49:25Speaker 1: those papers myself because I don't turch word you're saying.
- 49:29Speaker 1: I've been there for ten years. I've had ten other
- 49:32Speaker 1: neighbors in that backyard. You don't cycle through once a year,
- 49:36Speaker 1: I swear, And I've never had any problems with him
- 49:39Speaker 1: until you come along. This is some okay, Well, I
- 49:42Speaker 1: tell you what's Here's something you need to understand. You
- 49:45Speaker 1: got a new black neighbor, and you got a new
- 49:47Speaker 1: black neighbor that owns part owns your jacuzi because you're
- 49:50Speaker 1: over the fence line, all right, And as soon as
- 49:52Speaker 1: I move in, I'm coming and I'm getting in my jakouzi,
- 49:56Speaker 1: you would, oh, man, you know what, I made, no
- 50:00Speaker 1: move into that. I'm gonna use the jacouzy on Monday,
- 50:03Speaker 1: Wednesday and Friday. You don't get it on Tuesday, Thursday
- 50:06Speaker 1: and the weekend. That's it, because Blaze is damn Jacouzy
- 50:10Speaker 1: belongs to me, because Jacouzi and the whole my black
- 50:13Speaker 1: man and a white man, and we're gonna get along
- 50:15Speaker 1: lot of line. Look here, let listen here, you who
- 50:18Speaker 1: are you to dictate what days I get to use
- 50:21Speaker 1: my Jacouzi because it's not coming over to mind. Just
- 50:25Speaker 1: you your cry. It's I was Jacouzy because you you
- 50:29Speaker 1: built it. That's the only thing that makes it yours
- 50:31Speaker 1: and being on my part of the property, and I
- 50:34Speaker 1: was making mine. So therefore we're gonna share his damn
- 50:37Speaker 1: Jacouzi and we're gonna try to get you Jacouzi. I'm
- 50:41Speaker 1: passing your across the fence. I will be there on
- 50:44Speaker 1: Monday's Wednesdays, and you ain't gonna be I'll be standing
- 50:46Speaker 1: out my Jacouzie with a shotgun. You take one step
- 50:50Speaker 1: over to my property, my property, lie. I swear if
- 50:54Speaker 1: I can jump through this phone, I'd wring your neck.
- 50:56Speaker 1: You know who's gonna be in there with me? Who
- 50:58Speaker 1: who the gonna be in there? My cutting hell in
- 51:01Speaker 1: the damn jacuz cutting hem my co worker. Hey man,
- 51:09Speaker 1: this is nephew. Tell me, man, you your boy cutting hem,
- 51:13Speaker 1: you got me the plank phone, call you this, ohay back,
- 51:21Speaker 1: we got you, man, we got you. Hey. I got
- 51:25Speaker 1: one more thing to ask you, man, what is the
- 51:27Speaker 1: baddest and I mean the baddest radio show in the
- 51:30Speaker 1: lad the Steve Harvey's Radio Shop. Man, t me you

- 51:43Speaker 1: you don't set the days up belong to bo Fos
- 51:48Speaker 1: Steve all right, and it's it's good black folk and
- 51:51Speaker 1: white folk all stuff together like that. We're gonna have
- 51:54Speaker 1: to learn to share. Okay, So muddy Wednesday, Friday belongs
- 51:58Speaker 1: to me. All right, you get it? Twos in third
- 52:00Speaker 1: you pass the property line. Hey, potner, it's mine. Okay,
- 52:05Speaker 1: it is proper context, Tommy, he did do that. He
- 52:07Speaker 1: used it in proper card. He will look at your
- 52:09Speaker 1: black blankety blank. I'll tell you what he wasn't standing.
- 52:15Speaker 1: I'm gonna standing my door with a shot good dip
- 52:18Speaker 1: your foot in my damn song. I mean, man, he
- 52:23Speaker 1: got it was like it ain't even about race. Are
- 52:27Speaker 1: you just gonna tell me? You know, you gotta start
- 52:30Speaker 1: off and figure out, you know where they at you know,
- 52:32Speaker 1: you want to tell push that button, Tommy, push that train.
- 52:38Speaker 1: Got a problem with nobody? What what? What? What's this
- 52:41Speaker 1: between when it work on bo But when he said
- 52:46Speaker 1: that he wanted to come through that phone line ring
- 52:48Speaker 1: your neck. I said, music me and you fight. He
- 52:56Speaker 1: got a pool energy couz. He trying to figure out
- 52:58Speaker 1: what you're talking about. You give my number, all of it.

- 54:03Speaker 1: one could be yours could be. Buggle up and hold
- 54:08Speaker 1: on tight. We got it for you here. It is
- 54:09Speaker 1: the Strawberry Letter subject. I can't take him nowhere, Dear
- 54:14Speaker 1: Stephen Shirley. I've been living with my man for nine years,
- 54:18Speaker 1: and he said if I stayed with him for ten years,
- 54:21Speaker 1: he might marry me. I just laugh it off because
- 54:25Speaker 1: there's no way I'd marry this man after all he
- 54:28Speaker 1: said and done to embarrass me. He's fifty nine and
- 54:32Speaker 1: I'm forty nine, but I am head of our household
- 54:34Speaker 1: and I run our transportation business all by myself. He
- 54:39Speaker 1: waited until he was fifty five years old to start drinking,
- 54:42Speaker 1: and he can't handle his liquor at all. He's urinated
- 54:46Speaker 1: on himself in public, and he's laid on the floor
- 54:51Speaker 1: and took a nap in an Applebee's. When he's not drunk,
- 54:55Speaker 1: he still says inappropriate things. I have a thirteen year
- 54:58Speaker 1: old daughter, and he showed up at her recital and
- 55:02Speaker 1: was clapping and yelling out like a crazy person. She
- 55:06Speaker 1: laughed it off, but I know she wanted to throw
- 55:08Speaker 1: something at us. I have to run the business, and
- 55:11Speaker 1: I let him handle the drivers and keep the cars
- 55:13Speaker 1: in pristine condition because he can't deal with customers. He
- 55:17Speaker 1: gets rude with people on the phone because his patience
- 55:21Speaker 1: is short. He's been short with my father one time
- 55:23Speaker 1: too many and my dad told him he'd knock him out,
- 55:27Speaker 1: so now they aren't speaking. It's one thing after another.
- 55:32Speaker 1: So I am staying with him only because our business
- 55:34Speaker 1: is doing well and I don't want to have to
- 55:36Speaker 1: split it with him if we break up. I know
- 55:39Speaker 1: for a fact that he's messing around because I read
- 55:42Speaker 1: his text messages. He spends money on the women, so
- 55:46Speaker 1: I have to put him on a salary so he
- 55:48Speaker 1: will not give these women the impression that he's got money.
- 55:51Speaker 1: He doesn't mind anything I do, and he doesn't challenge
- 55:54Speaker 1: me on anything. Do you think I'm wasting my life
- 55:58Speaker 1: on him? Or I'm going to wake up one day
- 56:00Speaker 1: and I'm going to wake up one day and regret
- 56:02Speaker 1: how I handle things. Is it or is it true?
- 56:05Speaker 1: That the grass is not greener on the other side,
- 56:07Speaker 1: and I should stay put. Please help. I think you
- 56:11Speaker 1: already know, I really do. And you're fed up and
- 56:14Speaker 1: you're miserable, and you don't have to be. I don't
- 56:18Speaker 1: understand why you stay with this idiot for so long,
- 56:20Speaker 1: almost ten years. He's been rude to your dad, embarrassed
- 56:24Speaker 1: your daughter, urinated on himself in public, and you know
- 56:28Speaker 1: he's cheating on you, among other things. I mean, this
- 56:32Speaker 1: man has done everything he could possibly do to make
- 56:35Speaker 1: just you know, any sane person break up with him.
- 56:38Speaker 1: So the problem has got to be you. I mean,
- 56:40Speaker 1: you're the one who stayed with him this long and
- 56:43Speaker 1: has been taking this stuff for this long. Why because
- 56:47Speaker 1: you say you don't want to give him half the business.
- 56:50Speaker 1: I mean, you guys aren't married or anything, and you
- 56:52Speaker 1: don't mention whether his name is on the business so
- 56:55Speaker 1: you can get out. I mean, isn't your peace of
- 56:57Speaker 1: mind worth parting with him? According to you, you run
- 57:01Speaker 1: the company anyway, you do everything yourself, You pay him
- 57:05Speaker 1: a salary. I just say, so, let's not be greedy
- 57:08Speaker 1: here or anything like that. Cut your losses, get rid
- 57:10Speaker 1: of this guy. Even if you weren't in business with him.
- 57:13Speaker 1: You should get out. I mean, after nine years, it's
- 57:15Speaker 1: a toxic relationship and it's going nowhere. He doesn't sound
- 57:19Speaker 1: like he will move out because he's got it too
- 57:22Speaker 1: good where he is with you. So I just say,
- 57:24Speaker 1: please start looking for a place for you and your
- 57:27Speaker 1: daughter now, Steve, I pretty much feel the same way
- 57:31Speaker 1: Shirley feels. I don't, you know, you know, sometimes we
- 57:34Speaker 1: get teach, you know, sometimes we get to the strawberry
- 57:37Speaker 1: letters and we don't. I don't really care about him.
- 57:40Speaker 1: This is what you know talk about. Yeah, let me
- 57:49Speaker 1: dig in here a little bit. All right, Well, here
- 57:53Speaker 1: we go. I've been living with my man nine years.
- 57:58Speaker 1: He's saying if I stayed with him for ten years,
- 58:00Speaker 1: is he might marry me. This is the biggest blessing
- 58:04Speaker 1: in this whole letter. He gave you all free ten
- 58:11Speaker 1: year pass to find out exactly why you should not
- 58:16Speaker 1: marry him. I just laugh at off, because there's no
- 58:20Speaker 1: way I'd marry this man after all he said and
- 58:23Speaker 1: done to embarrass me. He's five nine, where he's fifty
- 58:28Speaker 1: nine and I'm forty nine. I thought this let him sind'
- 58:31Speaker 1: to be about something else. He's fifty nine and I'm
- 58:34Speaker 1: forty nine. But I'm the head of our household and
- 58:37Speaker 1: I run our transportation business all by myself. Now, this
- 58:42Speaker 1: fool and waited till he fifty five years old and
- 58:45Speaker 1: start drinking. I'm gonna tell you right now that ain't
- 58:47Speaker 1: what you want to start this lady life. Drinking is
- 58:51Speaker 1: a sport. It's something you have to play all. You
- 58:54Speaker 1: have to do this sport for a while to get
- 58:56Speaker 1: good at it. Football players don't become football players at five.
- 59:01Speaker 1: They've been playing peewee football, sad loot football, junior high,
- 59:05Speaker 1: high school, college. That's how you get to the pros.
- 59:09Speaker 1: You can't go to the pros at fifty five. Now,
- 59:12Speaker 1: he don't just started drinking at fifty five. He getting
- 59:15Speaker 1: drunk at fifty five, and he can't handle his liquor
- 59:19Speaker 1: at all. He didn't urinate it on himself in public.
- 59:22Speaker 1: That's because he just started. He don't know how to
- 59:26Speaker 1: handle his liquor. Soon does he pull it in. He
- 59:29Speaker 1: come right out and he laying on the floor. Took
- 59:35Speaker 1: a nap at Applebee's in the Peak on Steve. I
- 59:39Speaker 1: knew you could find some nuggets in there. I knew it.
- 59:41Speaker 1: I came in the pea. Coming up in twenty three
- 59:46Speaker 1: minutes after the hour, we'll get part two of Steve's
- 59:49Speaker 1: response to the Strawberry letter and the subject I can't
- 59:51Speaker 1: take him nowhere. We'll get back into it right after this.
- 59:55Speaker 1: You're listening show, all right? Come on, Steve, let's recap
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: today's Strawberry letter, the subject I can't take him nowhere.
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: Lady been to due nine years. He told if he
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: stayed with her ten he might marry Now. She didn't.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: Decided she ain't gonna marry this man, no matter what.
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: After all, he hadn't done. It embarrassed me. She's fifty nine,
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: forty nine, has a ten year difference. She's the head
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: of the household and run the transportation business all by herself.
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: He waited until he was fifty five years old and
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: start drinking. I don't know anything. You can start at
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: fifty five and be good at it. Golf, nothing. You
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: can't start nothing at fifty five. None of your motor
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: skills is as sharp at fifty five as they were
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: at twenty five. You start drinking at fifty five, and no,
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: what didn't happened? Now? He can't hold his liquor at all.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: He urinated on himself in public. That's cause you had
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: six ounces too much and the pipes bust and now
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: you just standing there peeing on you. And he laid
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: on the floor and took a nap in the apple Piece.
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: And my question is did he pee on the floor
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: of the apple piece and then he laid in it?
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: He don't need to be drinking at all. Who lays
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: down in the floor at apple piece? I've never been
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: that tired, and I've been to all the restaurants. I
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: was exhausted one night at a waffle house. I didn't
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: even fall asleep in the chair. Who lays down on
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: the floor at the damned apple Piece? So drunk ass?
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: Go home? Man? And when he ain't drunk, he do
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: inappropriate things. He comes crazy that like a holiday crazy
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: person that you little girl's recital, showed up at the
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: recital clapping and yelling like crazy. She laughed at all
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: my baby got my baby all in the back. He
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: gets rude with people. Now, she say, I have to
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: run the business, and I let him handled the drivers
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: and keep the cars in pristy in condition. Because he
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: can't deal with customers. He gets rude with people on
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: the phone because his patience is short. And I also
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: bet he's short too. That's what a lot of short
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: people act like that. I just wanted to throw that out.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: She say, his patience is short, that's why he rude it.
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: Probably because he's short too, because short people tight all
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: the time. But okay, you don't see that. It's right
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: there on the paper. It's obvious to me. Then she said,
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: he's been short with my father. To see, short people
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: always get short talk people don't do it. Yeah, he
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: got short with his daddy one time. Your daddy told
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: Hill knock his ass out. So they ain't speaking no more,
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: one thing out another. So I'm staying with him only
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: because our business is doing well and I don't want
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: to have to split it with him if we break up.
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: Remember that, because I have a valuable lesson to teach
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: you about that. I know for a fact he's messing
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: around because I read his text. He spends money on
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: the women. So I put him on a salary so
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: he would not get these women the impression that he's
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: gotten money. You're bad girl, So you just put him
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: on a salary. But he took it because he don't
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: mind anything I do, and he doesn't challenge me on anything.
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: That's cause you the man of the house. You send
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: you the head of the household, and you run the business.
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: He don't challenge you, and he messing around with other women.
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: He peas on him self, he lays down in restaurant floors,
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: and he ambasses your daughter. Do you think I'm wasting
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: my life on him? Excuse me? He peas on himself,
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: he lays down in restaurant floors, he ambasses your daughter.
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: Your daddy don't like him, to tell him he gonna
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: knock his ass out. He dating other women. He don't
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: do nothing in the card business y'all got because he
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: can't talk to nobody because he's short. And now he
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: messing around with women, and you to put him on
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: the salary. Do you think I'm wasting my life on him?
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: I don't want to read this no more. I'm gonna
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: wake up one day and regret high handle things? Or
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: is it true that the grass is not green on
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: the other side and I should stay put? Please help?
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: Of course you're wasting your time. And let's understand something else.
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: Your grass, Your grass ain't green, So what is you
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: warning about it being the green. On the other side,
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: your grass ain't green. You live in a sand light
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: playground with a man that ain't a whole man. And
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: let me ask you something, stay for what what do
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: you get out of it? And then you said, this
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: is what I want to go back to. I'm staying
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: with him only because our business is doing well and
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: I don't want to have to split it with him
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: before we break up. You don't have to give him half.
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: Who told you that? Anybody? And what are you doing
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: the business? You ain't got to give him half. First
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: of all, when you go to court and you bring
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: your text to court that he's been cheating with other women,
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: he don't get half of the business. And then when
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: you're showing the records how you do all the things
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: and what you're wearing about him leaving the business for you.
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: All he do is wash cars. You get in by
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: to wash the car. Anybody wash car? You get anybody
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: ask one of them dudes that's working in the tramp
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: takes coming for extra when you wash these cars called
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: the sparkling. Sparkling he out that peeing on cars and
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: everything that's not washing the car. Herbert, you're peeing on
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: the car for our cars. I was drinking and feeling fitting.
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: Go to Applebee. Don't you go back down to that
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: Applebe's no more advancing me like that? When when is
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: the baby playing the piano? You're not going to the
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: recital no more? Herbert can't take your ass no where.
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: You can't go to the recital. You can't go down
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: to applebe S. They don't let us in there no more.
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: But you pee didn't the flow, and your stupid ass
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: laid in and went to sleep. And now you look
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: outside and get peeing on the car supposed to be
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: washing them watched your car. Don't be on the car.

- 1:07:26Speaker 1: because he put him up three nothing in the bottom
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: of the third. I don't know why we need pitches
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: in our pitching was horrible last night, Timmy, No, I
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: wasn't man. Hidden was just good. This is a whipping junior.
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: This pitching. This a whipping man. It's coulations to the body.
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: Oh no, change your attitude on this. Congratulations up from you,
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: please you damn clear water back no more and cleanand
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: Indians ain't doing a damn thing. Shut up, Cleanland. Indians

- 1:07:59Speaker 1: I don't know what you're talking about. He is that dayhouse,
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: just like the Indians that day houtum. So I don't
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: know what all this all this extra is fault. And
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: I know he ain't talking about who ain't got a quarterback?
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: You have to be kid, I'm not gonna hear where
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: dude the cleve ain't got a quarterback, but he ain't
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: going to jail. And that's the other thing about it. Now.
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: I hope that Sean Watson survived this thing, and and
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: and and and you know, find his way back and
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: and and confine forgiveness of from these women or whatever
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: got to happen. But that's why I hope happened for
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: that young man, because everybody deserves second chair. But don't
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: you bring up quarterback with the situation y'all got y'all
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: shouldn't be talking about nobody to do pass brave baseball.
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: That's a what you mad at me fault. I'm right
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: around the corner from the because you ain't from Atlantic.
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: You just old that John Jackins just shot up. I
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: leve Hill, and you know why I moved Hill because
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: I thought they would go win the World Series based
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: on the brace right there, I knew the foculd we're
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: going to bed, all right, Junior, thank you. We'll have
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show coming up at
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: the top of the hour right after this, Go brave.
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: You're listening to show time now, guys, to talk about
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: yesterday's election. It was a big night for the GOP.
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: Republican Glenn Yunkin is the brand new Virginia governor Democratic
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: former UM candidate Terry mcculliffe. According to CNN, Republican Yunken
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: drafted a playbook for Republicans to navigate around Donald Trump,
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: keeping the former president's base energized while all so winning
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: back a sheriff suburbanites who had fled the party during
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: Trump's to New York. How the governor's race in New
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: Jersey is really right now too close to call, but
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: the votes count it showed a very tight race which
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: remained uncalled for for now. This is not how Democratic
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: Governor Phil Murphy or Garden State Democrats envisioned that going down.
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: Democrat Eric Adams has been elected the one hundred and
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: tenth mayor of New York City. Adams is a retired
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: New York City Police Department captain, and he will be
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: the second black mayor in the city's history after the
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: late David Dinkins. Yeah, yeah, moving to Atlanta now Steve Merrill.
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: Candidate Felicia Moore, the city council president, has advanced to
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: a runoff election on November thirtieth, where her opponent will
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: be City council Member Andre Dickens, and a campaign dominated
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: by the issue of public safety. Both Moore and Dickens
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: had favored hiring more police officers to combat a rise
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: in violent crime. Wow. Yeah, that's a shocker. Yeah, that's
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: a shocker because a lot of people thought Cassine read
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: would come back. I was one of those people that
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: thought that. I thought I thought he would come back. Yeah.
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: So again, the runoff election will be November. Voters in
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: Minneapolis rejected the police overhaul after protests against George Floyd's killing.
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: The voters decided to keep the city's police department intact.
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: Oh well yeah, yeah, that bill failed. A lot of
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: takeaways from the election last night, Uh, we got to
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: vote for the mid terms. Virginia's that's a big loss.
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: That's a big loss in Virginia to lose to the
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: GOP like that. Yeah, and then the midterms are coming up,
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: so yeah, you know, but I mean, it was a
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: good point raised about how in Virginia Yanken, like they said,
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: got around he kind of just himself from Trump, you know,
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: and they say that maybe that's the model now that
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: they should use that playbook. You know, navigate around Trump
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: and then you're base energized. Huh wait a minute, navigate
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: around Trump and keep his base energized. You know, kind
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: of distance yourself a little bit from Trump, but still
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: keep your base energized. However, he did make distance and
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: navigate yourself around him at the same time. How do
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: you do that? Well, he won. I think what they're
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: trying to say is because the Republicans, those that were
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: Republicans that didn't like Trump, they were still Republicans, so
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: they voted for him. You're talking about the base, the
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: base being considered the Republican party, not that's what I'm saying.
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: That's well, you know, look I'm for that because I
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: don't know the base, the base being considered Trump supporters. Yeah,
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: you know, keep them energized, keep give them a little something,
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: give them a little something. Whatever he did. Yeah, it's
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: still it's still his base. But people, the people that
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: don't like Trump, but they're still diehard Republicans. I just
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: I'm I'm done people who like Donald Trump. I just
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: I just don't understand that. I just don't. I just don't,
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: and and and and it really just allows me to
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: see who we're dealing with here. If you like Donald
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: Trump as a president and a representative of this country,
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: what you're saying for is, you don't mind bigotry. You
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: don't mind sexism, you don't mind blatant racist statements. You
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: don't you don't mind any of those things as long
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: as what as long as you win, yeah, or as
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: long as you're right yes, or what man or as
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: long as you get to maintain this superiority complex. Because
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: that's what it seems to me. I can't. You can't
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: make me think anything else. It ain't cause he loved
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: this country. It ain't still divided. We're still divided. Yep. Well,
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: there you go. We'll have more of the Steve Harvey
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: Morning Show coming up at twenty minutes after. Right after this,
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: you're listening to show. An American Airlines flight attendant suffered
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: a concussion after a passenger allegedly struck her in the
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: face during a flight from New York to California, prompting
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: the pilot to divert to Colorado. This happened last week.
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: According to court documents that were released yesterday. The passenger
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: was charged with a salt and interference with a flight crew.
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: The US District Attorney's office in Colorado set on a
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: federal complaint that authorities that this incident began when the
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: man got up to use the bathroom and stretch. The
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: flight attendant told investigators that she was struck in the
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: head after asking him to obey the seat elt sign
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: and sit down okay. The passenger allegedly struck her in
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: the head with his elbow, punched her in the face
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: with a closed fist. One witness told authorities he struck
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: her with a full swing. Another witness recalled him being
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: restrained with duct tape and plastic band after the altercation.
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: The unknown unnamed flight attendant had a bloody nose, complained
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: of being dizzy and nauseous. She was treated by Denver
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: doctors and diagnosed with a concussion. So people are still
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: acting a fool on these airlines. Iddle whooped his ass
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: all the way. I'm sorry, I'm just telling you. Punch
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: my girl, dog. I promise you. I don't care where
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: we at when I see you partner on the plane,
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: I don't you got the land Wavefore we get to
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: Denver right now? Oh, because this is an end back
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: then we can't fly his plane. All right, it's coming
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: up next. We'll do a round of would you rather?
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: Right after this you're listening to show? All right, time
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: for another round of would you rather? Let's get right
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: to it. Would you rather have an extra hour a day?
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: And if you have that extra hour, would you rather
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: spend it sleeping or having sex? Oh? Come on, sure,
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: we already know, we already know what we talk about.
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: Just sleeping with the person, or would you be rather
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: having Well, when we get through having sick, we're gonna
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: be sleep. So I'm gonna get both for them. See,
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: it's no way I'm getting extra out just ping sleep.
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: So you get an actual out to be unconscious. But
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: you always talk about you know you need more sleep,
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: you know enough. You always hear me talking about people
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: sleep too much. Yeah, yeah, that's right, you always hear
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: me talking about And I'll be damned you give me
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: an extra I'm gonna do it. Take my extra that
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: I can press forward and be sleep, I can get
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: up and see something else. Man, what leap? Now you
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: just blew your time? I think all the men, what what?
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: What went on? All? I ain't even got the head
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: of sex. Just give me the extra hour? What now?
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: But you can only do those two things, sleep or
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: have sex? I said, all right, all right during the quarantine?
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: Would you rather be alone with your partner or spouse
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: time like to d on the website? Be I don't
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: even know what it is I saw on TikTok. Would

- 1:20:26Speaker 1: what you want is right then, because one of us
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: is gonna miss an hour of the movie. I said
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: to Jail how many times? And you sat there and
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: let me say it. Now you wants to try to
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: correct me. That's not how we're gonna do this show.
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: No more. How about that. We haven't out of a nephew.
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: We're having it now. Yeah, on the zoom on the air.
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: Clearly you know how you'd like to have your meetings right.
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: All My meetings is public. That way, it can't nobody
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: say I see nothing else. But anyway, the point is
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: we want to thank Jill Scott. She's got a new
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: Lifetime movie, Highway to Heaven, premiering November six this Saturday,
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: eight seventh Central. Like I said, yeah, he said what
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: you said? I said what i said. Hey, y'all my
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: closing remarks I'm gonna do. I did it on Instagram
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: and I didn't even know it. I was just talking
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: to an audience one time and I wanted to share
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: it with you. And it's about disappointment. So here it is.
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: I want to talk to you today about disappointment because
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: I think that we all have to grapple with disappointment
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: from time to time. The problem with disappointment is that
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: disappointment also, if you don't understand, it can turn so
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: ugly so fast. Too many people allow disappointment to turn
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: into resentment. So many people think that this disappointment for
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: them symbolizes the end. When you allowed for disappointment to
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: turn into resentment, and you allow disappointment to turn into
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: the final verdict, you're losing what disappointment actually can become
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: for you. Now, I want you all to start looking
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: at disappointment as motivation. How many times have you been
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: faced with something that was disappointing. Let's say you go
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: in to get a job and you own your last interview.
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: And I have been in this position. Man. I was
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: trying to get an insurance job one time years ago,
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: and I went in and I had gotten gone through
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: about three or four interviews. I was at my final
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: interview and I said, man, I'm about to get this job. Man,
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: get my little family together, I'll be all right. And
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: got to that interview and they told me no, that
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: disappointment for me was gut wrenching. I actually got in
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: my car, a little seventy two Chevy, and I was
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: driving off Man and tears was in my eyes when
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: I got up on the freeway and I drove back
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: and I looked back over at that big building with
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: that big powerful name on it, and I had gone
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: through four interviews, and all of a sudden, I was
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: so disappointed in not getting hired. But you know what
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: I learned to do though, from that moment on, I
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: turned all my disappointment into motivation. I said, Okay, I
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: use it as a challenge. Okay, I'll show you from
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: the time my teacher told me that you ain't gonna
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: never be nothing, that there's no way they'll put somebody
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: like you on TV because you have a stuttering problem
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: and you can't even talk. But who are you who
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: is issuing out this disappointment? Because you're not gonna make
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: me resent you, and you're not gonna cause me to
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: think that you're denying me this opportunity. Are you handing
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: me this bad news of disappointment. I'm not going to
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: allow you to be my final verdict. You are not
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: going to be the person who is the author of
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: my destiny. You are not it that belongs to God,
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: not you, and I will not give that to anyone.
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: So when you're facing disappointment, do not hand that disappointment
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: over to the person who gave it to you in
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: the form of empowerment. Do not allow them to control
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: your destiny that causes you to go into such resentment
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: that you become bitter that all of a sudden, now
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: all you think about is that you don't have to
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: do that. They are not the author of your future.
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: That belongs to God and only God. Don't let them
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: trip you up by tripping you out. Now, I've had
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: shows canceled, gigs taken, I've been fired from radio, I've
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: been all in all, I've had some disappointing setbacks, and
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: I just quiet, at least say to myself, you ain't
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: my God, You who think you have the power by
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: telling me no, by turning me down, by refusing me,
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: by voting against me, by telling me that I don't
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: have what it takes. No, no, no, no, no, all.
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: It's just because you don't know, because you don't know
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: what God really has for me, And that ain't your fault.
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: So why bear resentment for these people? Because they are
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: not the author of your destiny? And don't you dare
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: give them that you take that disappointment and you use
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: it as the motivation. I feel sorry for people who
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: tell me no, because you know what, I know. I know,
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: they just don't know. And I end up somehow, through
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: God's grace and mercy showing them all. Keep the right attitude, y'all.
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: God got something for you through all your disappointment. Yeah.
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: That's on my i G page and I just happen
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: to be thumbing through it last night, pulled it to
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: play it, and I don't know who I was when
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: I did it. It was in the background, and I
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: got some people that work in my social media department
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: and they turned them into motivational videos. For all Steve
