Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome.
- 0:01Speaker 2: It is verdict with Ted Cruz that we can review
- 0:04Speaker 2: and Ben Ferguson with you. And here's some of the
- 0:05Speaker 2: big stories that you may have missed that we talked
- 0:07Speaker 2: about this week. First up, fighting the crime epidemic in
- 0:12Speaker 2: liberal blue cities. Donald Trump taking it on and having
- 0:15Speaker 2: massive success. So why are Democrats still fighting against him
- 0:19Speaker 2: even when the data shows it's working.
- 0:21Speaker 1: We'll have that for you.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Also, the government shutdown is continuing and is there an
- 0:26Speaker 2: end date in sight?
- 0:28Speaker 1: We'll have that as well.
- 0:29Speaker 2: And finally, Justice Kavanaugh attempted murder suspect given an incredibly
- 0:34Speaker 2: light sentence due to a radical judge. It's the weekend
- 0:38Speaker 2: review and it starts right now. All right, I want
- 0:42Speaker 2: to move to something else that's really important. The Senate
- 0:45Speaker 2: Judiciary is having a big hearing and it deals with
- 0:48Speaker 2: blue city chaos, democratic run cities. The report that's out
- 0:53Speaker 2: now is pretty clear. The top twenty most crime ridden cities,
- 0:57Speaker 2: eighteen of them are controlled by left wing hard court Democrats.
- 1:02Speaker 2: And you guys are now looking into this, so what
- 1:05Speaker 2: does this actually mean?
- 1:07Speaker 3: Well, this week the Judiciary Committee held a hearing on
- 1:10Speaker 3: out of control crime in Democrat cities and it really
- 1:13Speaker 3: is horrific the policies. It turns out when you let
- 1:16Speaker 3: violent criminals go, when you undermine the police, when you
- 1:19Speaker 3: put in place prosecutors who won't prosecute crime, you get
- 1:23Speaker 3: more crime. This summer, the Senate Judiciary Committee, Chuck Grassley's
- 1:27Speaker 3: the chairman, put out a report that showed that the
- 1:30Speaker 3: Biden Department of Justice sent taxpayer funded grants to Soros
- 1:34Speaker 3: backed soft on crime and goos. And in particular, here's
- 1:40Speaker 3: what the report said. Under the Biden Harris administration, the
- 1:42Speaker 3: Vera Institute was awarded millions of taxpayer dollars to prop
- 1:46Speaker 3: up left wing district attorneys who would then partner with
- 1:50Speaker 3: the Vera Institute to implement Soros backed progressive policies. These
- 1:54Speaker 3: policies included prioritizing violent criminals over victims and declining to
- 1:59Speaker 3: fully process acute felony charges including assault, kidnapping, rape, and murder.
- 2:04Speaker 3: And here's some of the key findings from the report.
- 2:07Speaker 3: In New York, New York County DA Alvin Bragg partnered
- 2:11Speaker 3: with the Vera Institute and declined to prosecute certain misdemeanor felonies,
- 2:16Speaker 3: actively working to downgrade felony charges to misdemeanors and refused
- 2:20Speaker 3: to detain criminals before their trials. Meanwhile, Bragg attempted to
- 2:24Speaker 3: prosecute President Donald Trump for federal campaign finance violations. In
- 2:30Speaker 3: the year twenty twenty five, there were over forty eight
- 2:34Speaker 3: thousand individuals arrested for misdemeanors in New York County WOW,
- 2:39Speaker 3: but only three thousand of them were detained. Forty eight
- 2:43Speaker 3: thousand arrested, three thousand detained. In Georgia, Athens, DA Debor
- 2:48Speaker 3: Gonzalez partnered with the Vere Institute and pledged to protect
- 2:52Speaker 3: illegal immigrant defendants and release criminals on bonds that did
- 2:57Speaker 3: not require the posting of money. In Wisconsin, Milwaukee DA
- 3:02Speaker 3: John Chisholm partnered with Veri Institute to implement progressive, soft
- 3:06Speaker 3: on crime policies and reportedly told the Milwaukee Sentinel Journey quote,
- 3:11Speaker 3: is there going to be an individual I divert or
- 3:13Speaker 3: who I put into a treatment program who's going to
- 3:16Speaker 3: go out and kill somebody?
- 3:18Speaker 4: You bet?
- 3:19Speaker 3: That is the Soros DA bragging he's going to release
- 3:22Speaker 3: criminals who murder people. And in twenty twenty, the Milwaukee
- 3:27Speaker 3: DA's office released a criminal twice before he ultimately drove
- 3:32Speaker 3: an suv through a Christmas parade, killing six and injuring
- 3:37Speaker 3: sixty two others. This pattern is happening over and over
- 3:41Speaker 3: and over again. What is amazing is the Democrats are
- 3:45Speaker 3: not learning. They're not saying, gosh, maybe we should stop
- 3:48Speaker 3: siding with the criminals. Instead, they're doubling down.
- 3:51Speaker 1: They're doubling down. And you see these stories that pop up.
- 3:54Speaker 2: And there was one dad that went before Congress to
- 3:57Speaker 2: testify about his daughter and just how many times the
- 4:02Speaker 2: man that killed his daughter, that took his daughter's life
- 4:05Speaker 2: had been arrested and released. And if you didn't hear that,
- 4:09Speaker 2: people should go listen to it because I think it's
- 4:11Speaker 2: really important. But we're seeing this happen where criminals are
- 4:14Speaker 2: being caught and released dozens of times, like dozens of
- 4:19Speaker 2: Time Center and they're just like, yeah, so what they
- 4:22Speaker 2: go out and then they kill somebody, Like okay, maybe
- 4:23Speaker 2: we should have guess locked that guy up, My bad,
- 4:26Speaker 2: it's insane.
- 4:28Speaker 3: Well, and here was a portion of the hearing this week,
- 4:30Speaker 3: Give a listen, prosecute violent criminals. Innocent victims die right
- 4:37Speaker 3: here in Washington, d C. In twenty twelve murders in
- 4:40Speaker 3: DC totaled fewer than one hundred. By twenty twenty three,
- 4:45Speaker 3: murders had nearly tripled two hundred and seventy four lives
- 4:49Speaker 3: taken in a single year. These are the real world
- 4:52Speaker 3: consequences of Democrat crime policies that let murderers go.
- 4:58Speaker 2: And the policy to be clear sent is a simple one.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Das were instructed when they took money basically from Soros.
- 5:05Speaker 2: They're bought and paid for by Soros, and what they
- 5:08Speaker 2: were instructed to do was to have prison reform and
- 5:11Speaker 2: bail reform. They wanted people out of the prisons. They
- 5:14Speaker 2: didn't want pe to go to prisons, they didn't want
- 5:16Speaker 2: Peo to be held in prison because of bail, and
- 5:18Speaker 2: so that is part of what they're advocating for here.
- 5:23Speaker 3: It's comprehensive and it's at every stage. It's a left
- 5:26Speaker 3: wing agenda that wants to number one, abolish the police,
- 5:28Speaker 3: wants to defund the police. And by the way, that's
- 5:31Speaker 3: not just empty rhetoric. If you look at jurisdictions across
- 5:34Speaker 3: the country. In Minneapolis, they slashed funding for the police department.
- 5:38Speaker 3: In New York City, the NYPD, they cut over a
- 5:40Speaker 3: billion dollars from the NYPD's budget in Austin, Texas, our
- 5:45Speaker 3: home state, one hundred and fifty million dollars cut from
- 5:48Speaker 3: the police department. So that's one way they do it
- 5:51Speaker 3: is they attack the police directly to wanting to either
- 5:54Speaker 3: abolish or defund the police. But secondly they go after
- 5:56Speaker 3: DA's and George Soros has spent tens of million millions
- 6:00Speaker 3: of dollars funding DA campaigns for radicals who've gotten elected
- 6:05Speaker 3: in many major cities across the country. And when they
- 6:08Speaker 3: get in, they refuse to prosecute violent criminals. They downgrade
- 6:12Speaker 3: felonies to misdemeanors, they abolish cash bail, so they catch
- 6:15Speaker 3: a murderer, they let them go. They catch a violent criminal,
- 6:17Speaker 3: they let them go. Here's another portion from the hearing.
- 6:22Speaker 3: You know, it's clear from this hearing the Democrat talking
- 6:24Speaker 3: points have come out. Both Senator Padilla and Senator Booker
- 6:28Speaker 3: spent a great deal of time talking about quote red
- 6:31Speaker 3: states as a reason they were talking about red states
- 6:34Speaker 3: because unfortunately, most red states had blue cities and that's
- 6:37Speaker 3: where the crime is. If you want to look at
- 6:39Speaker 3: in twenty twenty three, the large cities with the most
- 6:42Speaker 3: homicides per one hundred thousand people number one was New Orleans, Louisiana.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Number two was Memphis, Tennessee. Number three was Saint Louis City.
- 6:50Speaker 3: Number four was Baltimore City. Number five was Washington, DC.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Democrat crime policies kill people. Soros das who let murderers
- 7:02Speaker 3: out of jail kill people.
- 7:05Speaker 2: So when you look at this being exposed the way
- 7:07Speaker 2: that you guys are doing it, what is going to
- 7:10Speaker 2: be the mechanism that can obviously help stop this from happening?
- 7:14Speaker 2: And how can Congress use that leverage?
- 7:17Speaker 3: Well, there are lots of things we can do. One
- 7:19Speaker 3: is what President Trump has done, which is he sent
- 7:21Speaker 3: the National Guard to Washington, DC. And the result of
- 7:24Speaker 3: that is the crime rates of plummet. The plummeted. The
- 7:27Speaker 3: murder rates have dropped fifty eight percent.
- 7:29Speaker 4: Now you would.
- 7:30Speaker 3: Think rational people that if Democrats were rational people, they'd
- 7:35Speaker 3: be celebrating, Wow, the murder rate has plummeted. That means
- 7:38Speaker 3: people are alive because the National Guard is they're stopping murders.
- 7:42Speaker 4: But they're not. They're furious. And I'll tell you.
- 7:45Speaker 3: In the wake of George Floyd dying, the DC City
- 7:50Speaker 3: Council passed a soft on crime package of legislation that
- 7:54Speaker 3: lessened the penalty for violent crime across the board, that
- 7:58Speaker 3: tied the police hands and made it much much harder
- 8:01Speaker 3: to prosecute crime. And the result was crime rose dramatically,
- 8:05Speaker 3: carjacking and violent crime rose dramatically. I've introduced legislation in
- 8:10Speaker 3: the Senate called the Clean DC Act. The Clean DC
- 8:12Speaker 3: Act reverses those twenty twenty two laws. It reinstates tougher
- 8:17Speaker 3: penalties on violent crimes, and it allows the police to
- 8:20Speaker 3: actually go after the violent criminals. At the hearing, the
- 8:24Speaker 3: head of the DC Police Union testified and he explicitly
- 8:28Speaker 3: asked the Senate to pass my legislation. Pass the Clean
- 8:32Speaker 3: DC Act. Give a listen to the head of the
- 8:34Speaker 3: DC Police Officers Union.
- 8:38Speaker 5: That is why we also support the Clean DC Act.
- 8:40Speaker 5: It begins the process of undoing harmful legislation, restoring balance,
- 8:44Speaker 5: and rebuilding MPD strength. This is not just a DC issue.
- 8:48Speaker 5: Other cities that embrace the same policies are now facing
- 8:51Speaker 5: the same consequences. The lesson is clear. When leaders attack police,
- 8:55Speaker 5: communities suffer. When lawmakers strip away tools and protections, criminals thrive.
- 9:01Speaker 5: If this is not corrected, the crisis will deepen here
- 9:03Speaker 5: and nationwide. Urge Congress to act, support the Clean DC Act,
- 9:08Speaker 5: roll backfield legislation, and work with law enforcement instead of
- 9:11Speaker 5: against US officers want nothing more than to protect their communities,
- 9:15Speaker 5: but they cannot do it alone. Again, I thank you
- 9:18Speaker 5: for the opportunity to testify, and I welcome any questions
- 9:20Speaker 5: the committee may have.
- 9:21Speaker 6: Thank you.
- 9:22Speaker 2: One of the things Centaer I like about where you
- 9:24Speaker 2: guys are going with this is that this is not
- 9:27Speaker 2: going to be a short term thing. This is actual
- 9:30Speaker 2: reform you are advocating for to make sure that these
- 9:33Speaker 2: cities don't go back to these liberal policies where innocent
- 9:36Speaker 2: people are dying every single day.
- 9:39Speaker 4: Now, that's exactly right.
- 9:41Speaker 3: And the first obligation, the first obligation the president, the
- 9:44Speaker 3: commander in chief has is to protect this nation, to
- 9:46Speaker 3: keep us safe. The first obligation really every elected official
- 9:50Speaker 3: should should put front and center is protecting the health
- 9:53Speaker 3: and safety of the men and women you're elected to represent.
- 9:55Speaker 3: And you know it is striking, just like like we
- 9:59Speaker 3: talk about a minute ago with the shutdown where the
- 10:02Speaker 3: Democrats are engaged in gaslighting. You heard in the segment
- 10:06Speaker 3: I was talking about what both Corey Booker and Alex
- 10:09Speaker 3: Padilla said in that hearing where they both had talking
- 10:12Speaker 3: points almost exactly the same, where they said, well, you know,
- 10:15Speaker 3: there are bad crime stats in a bunch of red states,
- 10:18Speaker 3: and they went through a bunch of red states, and
- 10:19Speaker 3: then they're right, there are red states where the crime
- 10:21Speaker 3: stats are problematic. My response, which they have no refutation to,
- 10:28Speaker 3: is that is entirely driven by the blue cities and
- 10:30Speaker 3: those red states that are governed by left wing Democrat
- 10:33Speaker 3: mayors and left wing Democrat das who refuse to prosecute
- 10:37Speaker 3: violent crime. And so, yes, look, Memphis, Tennessee was number
- 10:40Speaker 3: two on the list. Now, Tennessee is a red state.
- 10:43Speaker 3: But you know, God help you if you live in
- 10:45Speaker 3: Memphis when you have local officials who will not prosecute.
- 10:49Speaker 4: The bad guys.
- 10:49Speaker 3: And that's true in Baltimore, that's true in New Orleans,
- 10:52Speaker 3: that's true in Washington, DC. And rather than address it
- 10:56Speaker 3: and admit it and fix it, the Democrats are trying
- 10:58Speaker 3: to distract people by engaging in dishonest rhetoric.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Now, if you want to hear the rest of this conversation,
- 11:06Speaker 2: you can go back and listen to the full podcast
- 11:08Speaker 2: from earlier this week. Now onto story number two. Is
- 11:13Speaker 2: this going to be a really long term shutdown or
- 11:15Speaker 2: is this going to be something that's going to get
- 11:16Speaker 2: resolved pretty quickly. So let's talk about you and Washington.
- 11:20Speaker 2: Last week there were votes and movement, but it did
- 11:24Speaker 2: not move enough to make the government go back to
- 11:27Speaker 2: actually working for the American people. When FDC, what was
- 11:31Speaker 2: a temperature and you said, now, Democrats, you feel like
- 11:33Speaker 2: are actually freaking out?
- 11:35Speaker 3: Yeah, Look, I and every other Republican has voted repeatedly
- 11:39Speaker 3: to open up the government. The House of Representatives has
- 11:42Speaker 3: passed a clean cr a clean continuing resolution that keeps
- 11:46Speaker 3: the government open, and it's the Democrats who keep voting
- 11:49Speaker 3: it down. And we're going to this week, we're going
- 11:51Speaker 3: to be back in. We'll be in Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday,
- 11:54Speaker 3: maybe Friday. Every day we will vote to open the government.
- 11:59Speaker 3: Right now. If the Democrats don't change, every day, the
- 12:02Speaker 3: Democrats will vote to keep the government shut down. And
- 12:06Speaker 3: the challenge is they don't have an off ramp that
- 12:09Speaker 3: they're trying to make up all sorts of things to say,
- 12:12Speaker 3: we're going to shut the government down because.
- 12:14Speaker 4: Of X, because of Y.
- 12:17Speaker 3: They're claiming it's all about that they really really really
- 12:21Speaker 3: want to give health care to illeal aliens. Actually, ironically,
- 12:25Speaker 3: they're not claiming that that's in the language of the
- 12:27Speaker 3: bill they keep voting for. So every Democrat keeps voting
- 12:30Speaker 3: for a bill that would provide government provided health care
- 12:34Speaker 3: for illegals, and then they're going on TV saying what us, No, no, no,
- 12:38Speaker 3: we don't want health care for illegals. Who's ever heard
- 12:40Speaker 3: of such a thing? That's not possibly what we want.
- 12:43Speaker 3: So there's a level of incoherence in terms of what
- 12:46Speaker 3: they're ask is. But there's a reason for that. They
- 12:49Speaker 3: don't actually have a real ask. What they have is
- 12:52Speaker 3: a political problem for Chuck Schumer. When he last kept
- 12:56Speaker 3: the government open, he came very close to losing his job.
- 13:00Speaker 3: Left wing rose up, they were furious. I got to say,
- 13:03Speaker 3: Bennett is astonishing. Every single Democrat Senate candidate in the
- 13:08Speaker 3: country who has been asked, do you support Chuck Schumer
- 13:12Speaker 3: to remain the Democrat leader in the Senate? Not one,
- 13:16Speaker 3: not a single incumbent, not a single challenger has said yep,
- 13:20Speaker 3: he's our leader. They're all running terrified, And so you
- 13:23Speaker 3: want to know why there's a shutdown because Schumer needs
- 13:26Speaker 3: to beat his chest now at some point he'll stop
- 13:28Speaker 3: beating his chest and the government will reopen. But just
- 13:32Speaker 3: this week, CBS did a poll and I got to say,
- 13:36Speaker 3: the Democrats' numbers are near an all time low. The
- 13:43Speaker 3: democrats favorability rating is at thirty four percent sixty six
- 13:49Speaker 3: percent unfavorable, and it really is striking. So CBS, now
- 13:53Speaker 3: this is not a right wing poll, this is CBS.
- 13:56Speaker 3: CBS asked what words describe the Democrat Party?
- 14:02Speaker 7: What do you think?
- 14:03Speaker 2: The number one word was, I'm gonna guess it wasn't
- 14:06Speaker 2: like inspirational, like hope and change.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Back in the day when Obama is.
- 14:10Speaker 3: Around week there you go week week was sixty four
- 14:17Speaker 3: percent of Americans bold said the Democrat Party is weak?
- 14:20Speaker 4: What do you think? The number two word.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Was I'm gonna go with not strong.
- 14:26Speaker 3: Extreme forty six percent set extreme, So weak in extreme
- 14:32Speaker 3: are the top two words. Now after that, you've got
- 14:35Speaker 3: reasonable reasonable is it forty four percent?
- 14:39Speaker 1: Strong?
- 14:39Speaker 3: You actually asked about strong. What percent do you think
- 14:42Speaker 3: say the Democrat Party is strong?
- 14:44Speaker 2: I mean, if I had a guess, I'd say thirty
- 14:46Speaker 2: five percent. Twenty seven Wow, so.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Even lower than I thought, because thirty five was not
- 14:51Speaker 1: like a good number.
- 14:52Speaker 3: By the way, and by the way, effective, what percent
- 14:56Speaker 3: do you think say the Democrat Party is effective?
- 15:00Speaker 1: Going to say, based on what you just said a
- 15:01Speaker 1: moment ago, twenty five percent?
- 15:04Speaker 3: Twenty six there you go. Okay, God, so all right,
- 15:07Speaker 3: think think for a minute. You are running the Democrat
- 15:10Speaker 3: Party Senate campaign, the Democrat Party House campaign. Your message
- 15:16Speaker 3: right now, two thirds of Americans think we're weak. Half
- 15:21Speaker 3: of Americans think we're extreme. We've got a full quarter
- 15:24Speaker 3: of Americans who think we're strong and effective. So we're
- 15:27Speaker 3: telling you quarter of Americans we are strong and effective.
- 15:30Speaker 3: Everyone else, you know, we're full of crap. That is
- 15:33Speaker 3: the definition of a political crisis. You want to know
- 15:37Speaker 3: why my colleagues are nervous. Look, I this past week
- 15:41Speaker 3: I sent out a meme so you may have seen,
- 15:44Speaker 3: in fact, I know you've seen. Ben President Trump sent
- 15:47Speaker 3: out a meme of Hakeem Jeffries wearing a sombrero with
- 15:51Speaker 3: a big handlebar mustache.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Bye.
- 15:53Speaker 2: By the way, so good and hilarious and just funny,
- 15:56Speaker 2: and people need to calm down. But of course Democrats
- 15:59Speaker 2: start screaming race right away.
- 16:01Speaker 4: Look, it was funniest crap.
- 16:02Speaker 3: It was ai so it had chuck Schumer saying, all right,
- 16:07Speaker 3: nobody's voting for Democrats because they know our bs, and
- 16:09Speaker 3: we would have actually played the meme, but the AI
- 16:13Speaker 3: curses a number of times, and this is a family
- 16:15Speaker 3: friendly podcast, so we're not going to play the curse
- 16:17Speaker 3: words here. But I have to admit I doubled over laughing,
- 16:21Speaker 3: and look, it's obviously AI. Nobody thinks that the yeah
- 16:26Speaker 3: it Schumer actually said, we the Democrats are are full
- 16:29Speaker 3: of crap, Like it's obvious they're lying. But what people
- 16:33Speaker 3: have gone nuts about is a king Jeffries is there.
- 16:37Speaker 3: They're saying, Okay, nobody votes for us. Everyone hates us.
- 16:41Speaker 3: So we've decided to go all in on free healthcare,
- 16:43Speaker 3: free illegals because maybe the illegals they don't speak English,
- 16:47Speaker 3: so maybe they'll support us at least for a while,
- 16:49Speaker 3: so they discover how horrible we are and then they
- 16:51Speaker 3: won't support us either. That's a paraphrase of what Schumer
- 16:54Speaker 3: says in the video. And you have a Keem Jeffries
- 16:57Speaker 3: at a sombrero and a big mustachio next to him,
- 17:00Speaker 3: and I have to admit my team we took a video.
- 17:05Speaker 3: There are forty four Democrats who keep voting to shut
- 17:07Speaker 3: the government down. So we took pictures of all forty
- 17:10Speaker 3: four of those Democrat senators and we used a little
- 17:14Speaker 3: bit of AI and we stuck sombreros and big old
- 17:17Speaker 3: mustaches on them, and we put it out, and we
- 17:20Speaker 3: put it out. Actually, I want to play the tune
- 17:23Speaker 3: and we're not going to play the whole thing, but
- 17:24Speaker 3: I want to play the tune that we put it
- 17:27Speaker 3: out to because it's it's very neutral and non political.
- 17:31Speaker 3: Give a listen to the song that we put out.
- 17:34Speaker 3: And mind you, while you're listening to this song, you
- 17:37Speaker 3: have a cascade of forty four Democrat senators with sombreros
- 17:41Speaker 3: and big handlebar mustaches.
- 17:43Speaker 7: Give a listener.
- 18:00Speaker 6: Nomber Cono is never gonna be Novem gonna make the
- 18:06Speaker 6: goodry better than you can remember. Count Moo is never
- 18:08Speaker 6: gonna be me in November when the inside do the
- 18:13Speaker 6: Magarito shake it up. But Treila campaign now they all
- 18:17Speaker 6: love me because I'm Dante and never going to American
- 18:21Speaker 6: wants me. Votes for me. Jn't just be on himself.
- 18:25Speaker 6: The Ferre tim this sweep votes for me. Jot just
- 18:28Speaker 6: be on himself. The ferre dumb This sweep co.
- 18:31Speaker 1: Tho is never gonna be me.
- 18:32Speaker 6: You no gonna make the good you better than you
- 18:34Speaker 6: can remember.
- 18:35Speaker 1: All right.
- 18:35Speaker 2: I gotta say you know that Donald Trump loves this
- 18:39Speaker 2: kind of stuff. I cannot wait to see what he
- 18:42Speaker 2: says to you when you guys hang out next.
- 18:46Speaker 3: Uh oh, look, it's hysterical and you gotta envision if
- 18:48Speaker 3: if you haven't watched it online. While the song is playing,
- 18:52Speaker 3: we've just got image after image of Democrats. So we
- 18:56Speaker 3: have Chris van Holland sitting down with the MS thirteen
- 18:59Speaker 3: member having dakery with a giant sombrero and heinelbar mustache.
- 19:05Speaker 4: We just just have fun with it.
- 19:07Speaker 3: By the way, I will say the Macarena so as
- 19:09Speaker 3: you know, my communications director's named Makarena Martinez. She's fantastic,
- 19:14Speaker 3: really really good. But I was talking to like several
- 19:17Speaker 3: of the young staffers in my office and I said,
- 19:19Speaker 3: you know, there's only one member of our staff who
- 19:23Speaker 3: has been the title of a number one song worldwide,
- 19:27Speaker 3: And like the twenty two year olds in my office
- 19:29Speaker 3: had no idea what I was talking about.
- 19:31Speaker 1: Isn't it amazing? Like they've never heard of You're right now?
- 19:37Speaker 3: Yeah, Like it's it's it's for all of so so
- 19:40Speaker 3: this pod has a lot of younger listeners. There was
- 19:42Speaker 3: a song what twenty years ago, twenty five long time ageah,
- 19:46Speaker 3: long longer than that maybe, Yeah, that was the makarena,
- 19:48Speaker 3: and there there was a dance. I will say, if
- 19:51Speaker 3: you've never seen it, there's an image you don't want
- 19:53Speaker 3: to see of Hillary Clinton dancing the macarena. And it
- 19:57Speaker 3: is just it will it will make you feel like
- 20:02Speaker 3: the gift of Homer Simpson wanting to pour bleach in
- 20:05Speaker 3: your eyes. You do not want to see Hillary. Trust me,
- 20:08Speaker 3: do not google Hillary Clinton dancing the macarena. You will
- 20:11Speaker 3: never be the same.
- 20:13Speaker 1: That was that at the Democratic Convention. I'm having a
- 20:15Speaker 1: flashback right now.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I don't remember trying to be cool
- 20:20Speaker 2: right and it just completely backfired.
- 20:23Speaker 4: It was horrible.
- 20:24Speaker 3: Now, I will tell you when I sent out this
- 20:26Speaker 3: this video of all the Democrats, Tim Kane, Democrat from Virginia,
- 20:30Speaker 3: who Tim and I are friends, but he like popped
- 20:33Speaker 3: me back on Twitter. He's like, hey, did you buy
- 20:35Speaker 3: those sombreros and can kun, which I was. I immediately
- 20:39Speaker 3: responded yes I did. And by the way, Tim, instead
- 20:43Speaker 3: of making dumb jokes about kN kun. How about we
- 20:46Speaker 3: reopened the government since half of your friggin state Virginia
- 20:50Speaker 3: works for the government and you've taken away all their
- 20:52Speaker 3: paychecks and and he didn't like that. So I will
- 20:54Speaker 3: say on the Senate floor, I was giving Tim a
- 20:57Speaker 3: little bit of grief for that, and he was kind
- 20:59Speaker 3: of He's like, did you like my can't gun joke?
- 21:01Speaker 3: And I'm like, yeah, but I'd like it better if
- 21:04Speaker 3: you opened the government.
- 21:05Speaker 1: If you opened the government. So all right, look into
- 21:08Speaker 1: your crystal ball.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Based on what DC was like in the mood when
- 21:13Speaker 2: you left and going back in there on Monday, do
- 21:16Speaker 2: you think that we will get the government reopened this
- 21:19Speaker 2: week or do you think that that Schumer I do still.
- 21:22Speaker 4: Dig in now.
- 21:23Speaker 3: I think they cave this week, and I want to
- 21:25Speaker 3: play for you. So last week Schumer was on the
- 21:28Speaker 3: Senate floor, and I want to paint the picture. He's
- 21:30Speaker 3: giving a speech for one of the multiple times the
- 21:32Speaker 3: Democrats are voting to shut the government down, and they
- 21:36Speaker 3: know the polling is going terribly and so Schumer got
- 21:40Speaker 3: up and his line he said, well, okay, they're polls
- 21:45Speaker 3: that Republicans are talking about, but those are biased Republican polls.
- 21:50Speaker 3: And he says, well, it's the New York Times, but
- 21:52Speaker 3: it's biased.
- 21:53Speaker 4: And I got to say.
- 21:54Speaker 3: I was standing ten feet away from Schumer, and I
- 21:57Speaker 3: and every other Republican just cracked up laughing because he's
- 22:01Speaker 3: like claiming the New York Times is a biased right
- 22:04Speaker 3: wing publication. And it was spontaneous. We did not organize this.
- 22:07Speaker 3: We just like doubled over laughing, and Schumer he stammered,
- 22:12Speaker 3: he stopped. He's like, uh uh, well, I mean it
- 22:16Speaker 3: was Look, who knew Schumer could be so funny. I
- 22:20Speaker 3: want you to play The video is better, but I
- 22:23Speaker 3: want you to play the audio Schumer saying this and
- 22:25Speaker 3: the spontaneous reaction appeals of laughter on the Senate floor.
- 22:30Speaker 8: Now I want to know the leader is going to
- 22:31Speaker 8: show a poll that says that Democrats will be blamed
- 22:35Speaker 8: for the shutdown. There are many more polls that show
- 22:38Speaker 8: Republicans are blamed. The question in that poll is biased,
- 22:43Speaker 8: biased in the New York Times, but it's biased if
- 22:45Speaker 8: you turned the quot.
- 22:52Speaker 3: That's true.
- 22:52Speaker 8: I don't always believe the New York Times. You can
- 22:55Speaker 8: be sure of that. Neither do you.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Okay, it's amazing by the way, like you're here and there.
- 23:01Speaker 2: It's kind of like he realized he stepped in it.
- 23:04Speaker 1: And he and even if he.
- 23:07Speaker 3: Really was, like I'm standing ten feet from him and
- 23:11Speaker 3: all of us wet. Like, okay, the microphone on the
- 23:15Speaker 3: Senate floor, when you're speaking, you have a little microphone
- 23:17Speaker 3: on your pel nobody else's micd That gives you a
- 23:21Speaker 3: sense of how loud the laughter was. That that's all
- 23:24Speaker 3: coming through Schumer's mic, and we were just doubled over laughing.
- 23:29Speaker 3: And you watch his expression, He's like, oh, oh, oh wait, okay, okay,
- 23:33Speaker 3: that's really dumb. Oh crap, uh yeah, Okay. The New
- 23:37Speaker 3: York Times is a right wing biased publication.
- 23:39Speaker 4: Yeah, maybe that's not like.
- 23:41Speaker 3: This is why my prediction is the shutdown will end
- 23:44Speaker 3: this week because I think the Democrats, as much as
- 23:47Speaker 3: Schumer feels he's in trouble with the left wing, I
- 23:50Speaker 3: think a lot of the Democrats say, we're on fire,
- 23:55Speaker 3: we don't have a win, this is not going well.
- 23:59Speaker 3: There's a combination of two things. One, an awful lot
- 24:02Speaker 3: of Americans the government is shut down and they don't care.
- 24:04Speaker 3: It doesn't impact their lives. That is the nightmare for
- 24:07Speaker 3: any big government Democrat is if the government shuts down
- 24:10Speaker 3: and nobody notices and look, during a government shutdown, eighty
- 24:14Speaker 3: three percent of the government keeps functioning. So the military functions,
- 24:17Speaker 3: law enforcement functions, the FBI functions, the border patrol functions,
- 24:21Speaker 3: ice functions, so security, medicare, Medicaid, all of that function,
- 24:27Speaker 3: The A benefits continue, and so it is a nightmare
- 24:32Speaker 3: if your entire political career is built on telling the
- 24:36Speaker 3: American people the most important thing in your life is
- 24:40Speaker 3: the federal government. If the government shuts down and everyone
- 24:43Speaker 3: yawns and goes about their life, that's a disaster. But
- 24:47Speaker 3: a second disaster is to the extent people are focused.
- 24:50Speaker 3: So listen, if you're going to DC this week and
- 24:53Speaker 3: you wanted to go to the Smithsonian and goes to
- 24:55Speaker 3: see the Air and Space Museum, you can't because the
- 24:58Speaker 3: Democrats shut down the Smithsonian. They shut down Yellowstone National Park,
- 25:03Speaker 3: in all the national parks, and so people are going
- 25:05Speaker 3: to get pissed off gradually over time. But I think
- 25:08Speaker 3: the vast majority of people are blaming the Democrats, saying
- 25:11Speaker 3: why are they shutting this down?
- 25:13Speaker 1: As before?
- 25:14Speaker 2: If you want to hear the rest of this conversation,
- 25:16Speaker 2: on this topic. You can go back and down the
- 25:18Speaker 2: podcast from earlier this week to hear the entire thing.
- 25:22Speaker 2: I want to get back to the big story number
- 25:25Speaker 2: three of the week you may have missed. I want
- 25:27Speaker 2: to move to another topic that we mentioned earlier, and
- 25:30Speaker 2: that is there is a lot of quiet outrage for
- 25:33Speaker 2: people that have been paying attention to the Brett Kavanaugh
- 25:38Speaker 2: assassination scandal. You have a quote transgender man who plan
- 25:45Speaker 2: to assassinate Brett Kavanaugh only receiving eight years for that crime.
- 25:53Speaker 2: There are a lot of people that are upset and
- 25:54Speaker 2: angry about it. I'm one of them. I think you
- 25:57Speaker 2: are as well. And somehow, Oh, I guess being transgender
- 26:01Speaker 2: now has allows three to avolesse accountability for your actions.
- 26:05Speaker 1: Explain this one.
- 26:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I have to admit this story makes me incredibly angry.
- 26:11Speaker 3: When I saw it I read the news story this week,
- 26:14Speaker 3: I was literally yelling out loud as I was reading
- 26:17Speaker 3: my phone. Heidi and I and our daughter Caroline, we
- 26:21Speaker 3: were in New York this weekend. I was with a
- 26:23Speaker 3: half dozen NYPD cops and I got admit. I vented
- 26:27Speaker 3: to the cops who were all pissed about this. So
- 26:31Speaker 3: the man who planned to kill Supreme Court Justice Brett
- 26:35Speaker 3: Kavanaugh in twenty twenty two. He flew from California to Maryland.
- 26:40Speaker 3: He arrived there, he had with him.
- 26:43Speaker 4: He had.
- 26:46Speaker 3: A knife, he had a gun, he had duct tape,
- 26:49Speaker 3: he had zip ties, and he had planned to murder
- 26:51Speaker 3: not just Brett Kavanaugh, but a total of three Supreme
- 26:54Speaker 3: Court justices. He was deranged, and he was caught on
- 26:57Speaker 3: the street right outside Justice Kavanaugh's home. And by the way,
- 27:00Speaker 3: he was also threatening Justice Kavanaugh's why wife and their
- 27:05Speaker 3: two daughters. Well, this guy was prosecuted quite rightily, and
- 27:09Speaker 3: the Department of Justice asked for thirty years, which is
- 27:12Speaker 3: a pretty reasonable sentence for someone trying to kill a
- 27:15Speaker 3: Supreme Court justice. Well, this left wing judge, her name
- 27:19Speaker 3: is Deborah Boardman, she's a Joe Biden appointee to the
- 27:22Speaker 3: Maryland Federal Court. She made a twenty two year downward departure.
- 27:28Speaker 3: So instead of thirty years, she sentenced him to eight years.
- 27:34Speaker 3: And her reasoning was essentially, instead of thirty years, you
- 27:39Speaker 3: get eight Why because you're transgender. Here's what Judge Boardman said, quote,
- 27:44Speaker 3: under the law, I must consider the sentencing guidelines. The
- 27:46Speaker 3: guidelines in this case are three hundred and sixty months
- 27:49Speaker 3: to life. It's important to understand the Supreme Court stands
- 27:53Speaker 3: on guidelines. They used to be mandatory, but in a
- 27:56Speaker 3: case called Booker, the Supreme Court held they were advisory.
- 28:00Speaker 3: The judge acknowledge that quote this case did involve domestic terrorism,
- 28:04Speaker 3: but she undid most of the terrorism enhancement created by
- 28:08Speaker 3: the sentencing commission and said, quote, I have not seen
- 28:13Speaker 3: evidence that the sentencing Commission relied on evidence that it
- 28:16Speaker 3: would reduce recidivism. The sentencing took more than seven hours,
- 28:22Speaker 3: and she discussed at length her justification for the light sentence.
- 28:26Speaker 3: Here's what she said, Miss Roski. Of course she calls
- 28:30Speaker 3: the man a woman because she's a leftist. Miss Rosky
- 28:33Speaker 3: came out to herself, to herself like this is a
- 28:36Speaker 3: private like just in the quiet of night, I've decided
- 28:39Speaker 3: I'm a woman. Mis Rosky came out to herself as
- 28:42Speaker 3: transgender in twenty twenty, but kept it a secret. Mis
- 28:46Speaker 3: Roski's sister came out as gay two years prior, but
- 28:49Speaker 3: miss Roski saw their parents struggle to recognize her sexuality
- 28:54Speaker 3: with their religious beliefs. By the way, it is not
- 28:57Speaker 3: it is not subtle or implied. The judge thinks religious
- 29:01Speaker 3: beliefs on this are horrible and terrible, and you are
- 29:03Speaker 3: bad if you have religious beliefs concerning sexuality. The judge continues, quote,
- 29:10Speaker 3: I am heartened that this terrible infraction has helped the
- 29:14Speaker 3: Roski family accept their daughter, by which she means Nicholas
- 29:19Speaker 3: Rosky for who she is. So you have someone attempting
- 29:25Speaker 3: to murder as sitting Supreme Court justice and the federal
- 29:29Speaker 3: district judge who's sentencing the attempted murderer says, I'm heartened.
- 29:33Speaker 3: The great thing about this is the parents are now
- 29:36Speaker 3: accepting of their psychopathic, murderous son that thinks he's a daughter.
- 29:42Speaker 3: The mother of the murderer told the judge on Friday
- 29:46Speaker 3: that quote, I've attended p flag meetings. I have attended
- 29:55Speaker 3: p flag meetings and learned about the LGBTQ plus community.
- 30:02Speaker 3: I am committed to going on this journey with Sophie,
- 30:06Speaker 3: by which she means her son, Nicholas. She was frustrated
- 30:11Speaker 3: with what was going on in the world, and we
- 30:14Speaker 3: weren't a safe place to process it. And by the way,
- 30:19Speaker 3: the Daily Wire in their story the next sentence says,
- 30:22Speaker 3: as his mother wept. Nicholas Rosky also choked up his
- 30:27Speaker 3: Adam's apple, bobbing up and down. Now here's what the
- 30:34Speaker 3: judge continued saying. Quote, any prison time is punishment for her.
- 30:40Speaker 3: The length doesn't need to be particularly long. Unduly harsh
- 30:45Speaker 3: conditions make a difference too. She will be imprisoned in
- 30:50Speaker 3: a male facility even though she is a transgender prisoner,
- 30:54Speaker 3: pursuant to an executive order from the President. Before the
- 30:59Speaker 3: executive order, that wasn't the case. In other words, this
- 31:02Speaker 3: judge really wanted to send this dude to a woman's prison,
- 31:05Speaker 3: where after attempting to murder a sitting Supreme Court justice,
- 31:08Speaker 3: he could assault women who were incarcerated. This is I
- 31:15Speaker 3: want to be clear, this is lunacy. This is nuts.
- 31:21Speaker 3: I have to admit. I literally yelled and cursed out loud.
- 31:25Speaker 4: Listen. Number one.
- 31:26Speaker 3: Brett Kavanaugh's a friend. I've literally known Brett Kavanaugh for
- 31:29Speaker 3: thirty years. His wife Ashley, Heidi, and I were with
- 31:32Speaker 3: Ashley on the two thousand George W. Bush campaign. She's
- 31:36Speaker 3: a West Texas girl. She's a wonderful woman. They have
- 31:39Speaker 3: two daughters who went through an utter nightmare going through
- 31:43Speaker 3: his confirmation hearing. Night after night after night, the Kavanaugh House,
- 31:48Speaker 3: along with the house of every Supreme Court justice, had angry,
- 31:53Speaker 3: violent left wing protesters out front, screaming, violating federal law.
- 31:57Speaker 3: It is a crime to protests at the home of
- 32:01Speaker 3: a justice seeking to change the decision of an opinion,
- 32:04Speaker 3: and yet the Biden Justice Department refused to enforce that law.
- 32:08Speaker 3: They would not prosecute those felonies and the heated rhetoric. Look,
- 32:13Speaker 3: this is very much like what we're seeing with Ice,
- 32:16Speaker 3: where Democrat rhetoric gets the lunatics and their party energized
- 32:21Speaker 3: to go commit crimes of violence. I want to be clear,
- 32:26Speaker 3: violence is never, ever, ever justified, So I'm not advocating
- 32:29Speaker 3: violence against any Democrat. I'm not advocating violence again any
- 32:33Speaker 3: left wing judges or justices. Violence is wrong. And by
- 32:38Speaker 3: the way, when it comes to politically motivated violence, it
- 32:42Speaker 3: is almost exclusively a left wing phenomenon. Look, when George
- 32:47Speaker 3: Floyd died, we saw riots in American cities, on fire,
- 32:51Speaker 3: being burned to the ground. We saw police cars being
- 32:53Speaker 3: firebomb we saw people being murdered. When Charlie Kirk was murdered,
- 32:59Speaker 3: we saw prayers across the countries. People went went out
- 33:02Speaker 3: and lit candles and prayed and sang together. And we
- 33:05Speaker 3: did see violence, but not from the people supporting Charlie Kirk.
- 33:09Speaker 3: Instead from the same left wing violent activists who were
- 33:14Speaker 3: attacking the people in prayer visuals. There is a difference.
- 33:18Speaker 3: And and and I have to say this judge, this
- 33:24Speaker 3: judge is demonstrated she is utterly unfit to be a
- 33:28Speaker 3: federal judge. I think the House of Representatives should seriously
- 33:33Speaker 3: contemplate impeaching this judge.
- 33:35Speaker 2: And and I don't by the way, does that happen
- 33:39Speaker 2: for what you're describing right now, because everybody listening is
- 33:42Speaker 2: to me, like a hold on a second.
- 33:43Speaker 1: If this is the case, then why don't we do it?
- 33:45Speaker 1: Does it happen? How many votes do you need to
- 33:47Speaker 1: do it? How does that work?
- 33:51Speaker 3: Yeah, it's happened a number of times. There have been
- 33:53Speaker 3: multiple federal judges who've been impeached and removed from office.
- 33:57Speaker 3: Typically they are impeached after committing a crime, something like
- 34:00Speaker 3: committing accepting bribes. So Alsei Hastings, for example, was a
- 34:05Speaker 3: federal judge who was convicted of accepting bribes as a judge.
- 34:10Speaker 3: He was removed from office and then he turned around
- 34:12Speaker 3: and ran for Congress as a Democrat and got elected
- 34:15Speaker 3: as a congressman. So he was a Democrat congressman who
- 34:19Speaker 3: had been impeached and removed from office for being a
- 34:22Speaker 3: federal judge taking bribes. So that I'm going to let
- 34:25Speaker 3: you draw all the inferences you want. Those facts are objective.
- 34:29Speaker 3: It is not easy to impeach a judge, although under
- 34:32Speaker 3: the Constitution, to impeach a judge it takes a majority
- 34:36Speaker 3: vote in the House of Representatives. And I actually think
- 34:39Speaker 3: in this instance, a judge who thinks someone trying to
- 34:43Speaker 3: murder a Supreme Court justice because he disagrees with a
- 34:47Speaker 3: decision the Supreme Court justice is rendering that is a
- 34:51Speaker 3: fundamental assault on our judicial system, on the rule of law,
- 34:55Speaker 3: on the basic protection of rights all of us have.
- 34:58Speaker 3: And if you are such a zealot, such a partisan ideologue,
- 35:04Speaker 3: that you will not follow the sentencing guidelines, you will
- 35:06Speaker 3: not acknowledge this is terrorism, and instead you say, you
- 35:10Speaker 3: know what, this person's transgender, and my ideology is such
- 35:15Speaker 3: that I love transgenders, and so instead of thirty years,
- 35:18Speaker 3: I'm going to give this person eight years. And by
- 35:20Speaker 3: the way, I really think this man should be in
- 35:22Speaker 3: a woman's prison. But that mean mean president won't let
- 35:26Speaker 3: me do.
- 35:26Speaker 4: That, I believe. And I don't know this woman at all.
- 35:29Speaker 3: I don't know this judge, but just how she conducted
- 35:33Speaker 3: herself in this proceeding to me, demonstrates she is completely
- 35:37Speaker 3: unfit to be a federal judge. I would urge the
- 35:41Speaker 3: House Representatives take up impeachment and I would love to
- 35:44Speaker 3: have a trial in the Senate. Do we want judges
- 35:47Speaker 3: who refuse to enforce the criminal law for psychopathic murderers
- 35:51Speaker 3: who are trying to murder Supreme Court justices? I think
- 35:54Speaker 3: the obvious answer is does tell you this? No democrat
- 35:58Speaker 3: wants to defend the other side.
- 36:00Speaker 2: As always, thank you for listening to Verdict with sentater
