Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome. It is verdicuous center. Ted Cruz week in Review.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Ben Ferguson with you, and these are the big stories
- 0:07Speaker 1: that you may have missed that we talked about this week.
- 0:10Speaker 1: First up, where are the Democrats on the issue of
- 0:14Speaker 1: hostages that are still being held by Hamas? And why
- 0:17Speaker 1: are they not talking about many of them that are Americans.
- 0:20Speaker 1: It is months into this conflict and yet no one
- 0:23Speaker 1: seems to care. We're going to talk about that. Also,
- 0:27Speaker 1: CNN thought they knew what RFK Junior was going to
- 0:30Speaker 1: say about Donald Trump. It backfired in a big way,
- 0:34Speaker 1: and you're not going to want to miss what he
- 0:36Speaker 1: had to say about the biggest threat to democracy. It
- 0:38Speaker 1: was Joe Biden. And finally NBC and MSNBC, they united
- 0:44Speaker 1: the biggest hosts and the biggest talent to make sure
- 0:48Speaker 1: that the former RNC chairwoman was basically fired before she
- 0:52Speaker 1: ever got started in her new job. What's behind this?
- 0:56Speaker 1: We're going to talk about it all. It is the
- 0:58Speaker 1: weekend Review, and it starts right now, Senat you and
- 1:02Speaker 1: I want to go back in time because it's amazing
- 1:05Speaker 1: how quick people forget about what happened on that day.
- 1:08Speaker 1: I've met with the Israeli government independently. You've obviously met
- 1:13Speaker 1: with them and representatives countless times. You watched a long
- 1:19Speaker 1: version of the atrocities of that day. I have seen
- 1:23Speaker 1: more than I wanted to, but I think it was
- 1:25Speaker 1: important with the platform that I have to be an
- 1:29Speaker 1: advocate for Israel to see it and witness it. And
- 1:32Speaker 1: I saw it much more recently. I can't get those
- 1:36Speaker 1: images out of my head, just how orchestrated, how barbaric,
- 1:43Speaker 1: how evil the people were that were doing these things
- 1:47Speaker 1: to As we talked about children to the elderly, the
- 1:52Speaker 1: elderly is somewhat been overlooked. And I was watching some
- 1:56Speaker 1: of this, and you watch these elderly people. Not only
- 2:00Speaker 1: were they killing the grandfathers and great grandfathers in front
- 2:04Speaker 1: of the great grandmothers and their kids and grandkids, but
- 2:08Speaker 1: they were ripping them away and then taunting because they
- 2:11Speaker 1: were going to go after the women. And this was
- 2:14Speaker 1: all caught on video. And yet no one seems to
- 2:18Speaker 1: be reminding people that those are the hostages that are
- 2:21Speaker 1: still being held captive right now.
- 2:24Speaker 2: They are And where is America? Where is the president?
- 2:30Speaker 2: Where is a Democrat calling for the release of the
- 2:33Speaker 2: American hostages. By the way, these are not many of
- 2:36Speaker 2: them are Israelis, but there are multiple American hostages that
- 2:42Speaker 2: this White House A wall doesn't even begin. It's worse
- 2:45Speaker 2: than a wall. If they were silent, that would be disgraceful.
- 2:50Speaker 2: But they're not silent. They're telling Israel stop trying to
- 2:53Speaker 2: kill the terrorists. Instead, reward the terrorists and give them
- 2:57Speaker 2: a nation state that is stronger than it was before
- 3:00Speaker 2: and in a better position to wage war with Israel
- 3:03Speaker 2: into murder innocent civilians going forward. That is a bizarre
- 3:07Speaker 2: way to respond to a horrific atrocity carried out by.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Hamas Jensaki, White House Press Secretary. She obviously and this
- 3:17Speaker 1: is when you know it's a coordinated and orchestrated effort
- 3:19Speaker 1: by talking heads, former White House pressingre terry, people in
- 3:24Speaker 1: the media, people in the State Department, people in social
- 3:28Speaker 1: media circles on the left, and celebrities and others. This
- 3:32Speaker 1: is what she had to say on Israel on MSNBC.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Well, and Jen, it's very easy for people to say
- 3:40Speaker 3: the president should do a the president should do BC.
- 3:44Speaker 3: There is also the very real possibility, and he say,
- 3:48Speaker 3: understand this, if the president turns on met Yahoo to belief.
- 3:54Speaker 3: The President says, we're going to stop sending weapons that
- 3:58Speaker 3: met and Yahoo actually uses that to gain more power
- 4:02Speaker 3: inside of Israel, saying, see, we have been abandoned even
- 4:06Speaker 3: by the United States.
- 4:08Speaker 4: We have to fight on That's right, Joe, and I
- 4:11Speaker 4: think that's important too.
- 4:12Speaker 5: Look, clearly, the strategy that the United States is implementing
- 4:16Speaker 5: at this point is not working to change the behavior
- 4:19Speaker 5: of Prime Minister net Yahoo, is not working to end
- 4:21Speaker 5: the war. So obviously something has to change, and I
- 4:25Speaker 5: think it's pretty clear they're discussing that, I think in
- 4:28Speaker 5: the White House and I hope in the White House
- 4:30Speaker 5: in this situation room at this point in time.
- 4:32Speaker 4: The question is what that will be.
- 4:34Speaker 5: And there's a number of allies of President Biden's in
- 4:38Speaker 5: the Senate, Democratic senators and others who've been pretty outspoken
- 4:42Speaker 5: about the need for conditioning AID at least as a consideration.
- 4:45Speaker 5: That's obviously something that is being considered should be considered.
- 4:49Speaker 5: The question is will that change the behavior and what
- 4:51Speaker 5: additional leverage needs to be put on Prime Minister net
- 4:55Speaker 5: Yahoo at this point in time to change the trajectory.
- 4:58Speaker 5: But you're right, there's a calculation if you're discussing this,
- 5:01Speaker 5: if you're the president, if you're the national security team,
- 5:03Speaker 5: about what would prompt Prime Minister who to be more aggressive,
- 5:07Speaker 5: what would prompt him to be less aggressive.
- 5:09Speaker 4: Obviously nothing has worked to date.
- 5:11Speaker 5: But it's not as easy as it sounds to make
- 5:13Speaker 5: that determination.
- 5:15Speaker 6: Center.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Not one time did she say anything about putting pressure
- 5:18Speaker 1: on Hamas the terrorist organization, or the Palestinian that are
- 5:22Speaker 1: supporting the terrorists to stop them. They don't care about Israel,
- 5:27Speaker 1: like Israel is the terrorist organization that started all this,
- 5:31Speaker 1: They were the ones that were attacked.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Look that they treat Israel as a client state. They
- 5:37Speaker 2: treat Israel as the oppressors, and understand the base of
- 5:41Speaker 2: their party believes Israel as their oppressors. And also get
- 5:45Speaker 2: you know, you know, there's some folks. There's a popular
- 5:47Speaker 2: media narrative that, hey, Joe Biden is really pro Israel,
- 5:51Speaker 2: but he's just got a political problem that his party
- 5:54Speaker 2: is not. That's actually not accurate. Joe Biden has been
- 5:58Speaker 2: undermining Israel for more than fifty years. Let's go back
- 6:02Speaker 2: to nineteen eighty two. Nineteen eight two was a long
- 6:04Speaker 2: time ago. Nineteen eighty two, Joe Biden was in the
- 6:09Speaker 2: Senate Foreign Relations Committee. He had a private meeting with
- 6:13Speaker 2: Israeli Prime Minister Man Knock and Began and Joe Biden
- 6:18Speaker 2: decided to do what he's doing now, to threaten Israel,
- 6:21Speaker 2: to threaten We're going to cut off usaid if Israel
- 6:25Speaker 2: did not stop quote settlements in Judaea and Samaria. So
- 6:29Speaker 2: it's frankly, the same thing he was saying in eighty
- 6:31Speaker 2: two is what he's saying now. We don't like Israel.
- 6:33Speaker 2: You don't have any right to settle the land of Israel,
- 6:35Speaker 2: and if you do, we're going to cut you off.
- 6:38Speaker 2: And here's what Began responded to. And this is one
- 6:40Speaker 2: of the most famous responses by any Israeli prime minister,
- 6:43Speaker 2: and it was in nineteen eighty two, so a long
- 6:46Speaker 2: long time ago. Here's what Began said to Joe Biden.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Then a senator quote, don't threaten us with cutting off
- 6:54Speaker 2: your aid. It will not work. I am not a
- 6:59Speaker 2: Jew with trembling knees. I am a proud Jew with
- 7:05Speaker 2: three thousand, seven hundred years of civilized history. Nobody came
- 7:10Speaker 2: to our aid when we were dying in the gas
- 7:12Speaker 2: chambers and ovens. Nobody came to our aid when we
- 7:16Speaker 2: were striving to create our country. We paid for it,
- 7:21Speaker 2: we fought for it, we died for it. We will
- 7:26Speaker 2: stand by our principles, we will defend them, and when necessary,
- 7:32Speaker 2: we will die for them again with or without your aid.
- 7:39Speaker 2: That's what the Prime Minister of Israel said to Joe
- 7:41Speaker 2: Biden over forty years ago. You know what, the Prime
- 7:45Speaker 2: Minister of Israel is still saying that to Joe Biden.
- 7:48Speaker 2: But sadly, the entire Democrat Party is with Biden, undermining
- 7:53Speaker 2: Israel and effectively forming a protective shield around the hamas Terrace,
- 8:00Speaker 2: who committed the most unspeakable acts of modern times that
- 8:05Speaker 2: we have seen.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Senat our last question for you, and it's a really
- 8:09Speaker 1: important one. If the Elizabeth Warrens the Democratic Party, and
- 8:13Speaker 1: if the aocs and Rashida Leeves and others are able
- 8:17Speaker 1: to flip the script the way it seems like we're
- 8:19Speaker 1: going with the help of the media, what happens if,
- 8:23Speaker 1: in fact, we don't give the a needed and the
- 8:26Speaker 1: military weaponry needed that Israel is willing to buy from
- 8:30Speaker 1: us because this president caves and blocks it. What happens
- 8:34Speaker 1: to Israel?
- 8:35Speaker 2: Then well, listen, the Biden administration and the Democrats in
- 8:40Speaker 2: the Congress hope that Israel will give in, that they
- 8:43Speaker 2: want to number one undermine Benjamin net Yahu. And I'm
- 8:47Speaker 2: not listen, I'm not being partisan in this. I'm not
- 8:50Speaker 2: not intuiting or supposing this. Chuck Schumer said it on
- 8:54Speaker 2: the Senate floor. He said he wants Netanyahu to be
- 8:56Speaker 2: forced out of office. He wants Israel to have a new
- 8:58Speaker 2: election and for them to allot to prime minister whose
- 9:01Speaker 2: views he likes. And apparently the voters of Israel don't
- 9:05Speaker 2: have a right to choose their own leader. That it's
- 9:07Speaker 2: going to be the Democrats in Washington to choose that.
- 9:10Speaker 2: But look the White House and the Congressional Democrats, they
- 9:13Speaker 2: hope that by attacking Israel relentlessly, by threatening to cut
- 9:17Speaker 2: off money, by undermining their international support, that Israel will
- 9:21Speaker 2: get cold feet, that they will get weakknees, they will
- 9:24Speaker 2: stop attacking Hamas and in particular Rafa. Look, the Hamas leadership,
- 9:28Speaker 2: the Hamas terrorists are all gathered in Rafa. Now, I'll
- 9:31Speaker 2: tell you I sat down doing a zoom call two
- 9:35Speaker 2: weeks ago with Prime Minister Netanyahu. He joined all the
- 9:38Speaker 2: Republican senators at our lunch. I can tell you two
- 9:41Speaker 2: weeks ago he was unequivocal. He said, we will go
- 9:43Speaker 2: to Rafa, we will enter Rafa, we will engage in
- 9:46Speaker 2: a military campaign, and we will utterly eliminate Hamas, and
- 9:49Speaker 2: if America is not there, we'll do it on our own.
- 9:52Speaker 2: To be honest, what Netanyahu said it was almost word
- 9:54Speaker 2: for word, web knock and Bagan said that has not changed.
- 9:57Speaker 2: It's one of the reasons. Listen, as a tech I've explained.
- 10:01Speaker 2: People have asked me a lot of times. They've said,
- 10:04Speaker 2: how is it? How did it come to pass that
- 10:07Speaker 2: a Cuban techxan Southern Baptist became the leading defender of
- 10:15Speaker 2: Israel in the Senate. And there are lots of reasons
- 10:18Speaker 2: for that, but I'll tell you one of the biggest
- 10:19Speaker 2: is the attitude of Israel. Israel is surrounded by nations
- 10:24Speaker 2: that would drive it into the sea, that would murder
- 10:26Speaker 2: every Israeli, every Jew if they could, and the only
- 10:29Speaker 2: reason they don't is because Israel is strong enough to
- 10:33Speaker 2: defeat them all. I got to say that is an
- 10:36Speaker 2: incredibly Texan foreign policy. It is a national security policy.
- 10:40Speaker 2: I have more than once wished that American foreign policy
- 10:44Speaker 2: could have the clarity and strength that Israel's does, and
- 10:48Speaker 2: so I'm not surprised that NATANYAHUO is saying the same
- 10:52Speaker 2: thing monach and began said forty plus years later, which
- 10:56Speaker 2: is Israel only survives because they could serve they are
- 11:00Speaker 2: not dependent on the large Yes, the welfare from Democrats
- 11:05Speaker 2: who are condescending to flick breadcrumbs from their table. But
- 11:12Speaker 2: I really do wonder Ben, is there one Democrat in
- 11:17Speaker 2: Congress with the guts to stand up to Biden and
- 11:22Speaker 2: say this is wrong. We stand with Israel, we stand
- 11:28Speaker 2: against Tamas, and all of the rest of this is garbage.
- 11:32Speaker 2: If they have I haven't seen it.
- 11:34Speaker 4: Now.
- 11:35Speaker 1: If you want to hear the rest of this conversation,
- 11:37Speaker 1: you can go back and listen to the full podcast
- 11:39Speaker 1: from earlier this week. Now onto story number two, Senator Finally,
- 11:45Speaker 1: I want to talk about our RFK Junior. CNN decide
- 11:49Speaker 1: to have him on, and they thought they were giving
- 11:52Speaker 1: him a softball question that was going to be easy,
- 11:56Speaker 1: and he's gonna rip on Donald Trump tee it up
- 11:59Speaker 1: from there because it didn't go the way they thought
- 12:01Speaker 1: it was going to go at all.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Well, that's exactly right. CNN tossed to RFK juniors a
- 12:08Speaker 2: question that they thought RFK would say, Oh, yes, Trump
- 12:11Speaker 2: is clearly the manifest threat to democracy and so you
- 12:14Speaker 2: really should vote for Joe Biden instead. Well, RFK did
- 12:17Speaker 2: not play along and listen to this exchange because CNN
- 12:21Speaker 2: was astonished at what RFK had to say.
- 12:24Speaker 4: I've done too many issues.
- 12:25Speaker 7: While I admire his high minded ideals, his suggestion that
- 12:27Speaker 7: there's no difference between mister Ware and mister Bush is irresponsible.
- 12:31Speaker 7: A moment ago, you said, you essentially see Trump and
- 12:35Speaker 7: Biden as.
- 12:35Speaker 4: Saying different different issues.
- 12:37Speaker 7: But do you really believe that when people talk about
- 12:39Speaker 7: the threat of democracy that Trump poses, do you really
- 12:42Speaker 7: think that that is an.
- 12:43Speaker 8: Equal Listen, I can make the argument that President Biden
- 12:51Speaker 8: is a much worse threat to democracy. And the reason
- 12:54Speaker 8: for that is President Biden is the first candidate in history,
- 12:57Speaker 8: the first president history has used the federal agencies to
- 13:02Speaker 8: censor political speech. So the sensor his opponent. I you know,
- 13:05Speaker 8: I can say that because I just want a case
- 13:07Speaker 8: in the Federal Court of Appeals and now before the
- 13:10Speaker 8: Supreme Court. It shows that he started censoring not just me,
- 13:14Speaker 8: for thirty seven hours after he took the other office.
- 13:17Speaker 8: He was censoring me. No president in the country has
- 13:19Speaker 8: ever done that. The greatest threat democracy is not somebody
- 13:24Speaker 8: who questions election returns, but a president of the United
- 13:26Speaker 8: States who used the power of his office to force
- 13:29Speaker 8: the social media company's Facebook, Instagram, Twitter to open a
- 13:35Speaker 8: portal and give the access to that portal to the FBI,
- 13:38Speaker 8: to the CIA, the IRS, the SISA, the NIH to
- 13:42Speaker 8: censor his political critics. Becausident Biden for the first first
- 13:47Speaker 8: president of history to use the secret his power over
- 13:50Speaker 8: the Secret Service to deny Secret Service protection to one
- 13:54Speaker 8: of his political opponents for political reasons. He's weaponizing the
- 13:58Speaker 8: federal agency. Those are really critical.
- 14:01Speaker 7: Threatsource tried to overturn a free and fair election.
- 14:06Speaker 4: He tried to overturn one.
- 14:07Speaker 7: Right is he still finding How is that not a
- 14:11Speaker 7: threat to democracy?
- 14:13Speaker 8: Well, I think that is a threat to democracy. Him
- 14:18Speaker 8: of it were trying to overthrow the election. Clearly is
- 14:20Speaker 8: the threat democracy. But the question was who is the
- 14:24Speaker 8: worse threat to democracy? And what I would say is,
- 14:27Speaker 8: you know, I'm not going to answer that question, but
- 14:29Speaker 8: I can argue that President Biden is because the First
- 14:32Speaker 8: Amendment Aaron is the most important. But Adams and Hamilton
- 14:36Speaker 8: and Madison said, we put the guarantee of freedom expression
- 14:40Speaker 8: in the First Amendment because all of our other constitutional.
- 14:43Speaker 4: Rights depend on it.
- 14:44Speaker 8: If you have a government that can silence its opponent,
- 14:48Speaker 8: it has license for any atrocity.
- 14:50Speaker 7: So, just to be clear, you're saying you could make
- 14:52Speaker 7: an argument that President Biden is a worse threat to democracy.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Then you listen to that a senator and it's like
- 14:58Speaker 1: they're like, well, I will whoa, this is not what
- 15:01Speaker 1: you're supposed to say. This is not you were supposed
- 15:04Speaker 1: to say Donald Trump orange Man's bad and a threat
- 15:07Speaker 1: to democracy. Obviously you weren't supposed to say Joe Biden's
- 15:11Speaker 1: actually a bigger threat. And by the way, explain exactly
- 15:14Speaker 1: how he is.
- 15:15Speaker 2: Warning Will Robinson warning Will Robinson, danger danger danger Aboart
- 15:19Speaker 2: run away, run away. That's what CNN is saying. They're
- 15:22Speaker 2: losing their minds. No, No, that that's not the message.
- 15:25Speaker 2: The only message we allow on CNN is Trump bad,
- 15:28Speaker 2: Trump bad, Trump bad. You're RFK jor your dad was RFK,
- 15:32Speaker 2: your uncle was JFK. You're supposed to echo our message
- 15:35Speaker 2: Trump orange man bad, orange man bad. Look I got
- 15:41Speaker 2: to say listening to that. I agree with every single word.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Robert F.
- 15:44Speaker 2: Kennedy Jr. Said right there. When it comes to a
- 15:48Speaker 2: threat to democracy, number one, Joe Biden and for that matter,
- 15:52Speaker 2: congressional Democrats are perfectly happy to use government power and
- 15:57Speaker 2: big tech to censor you, to silence you, to prevent
- 16:00Speaker 2: you from engaging in political speech, to prevent you from
- 16:03Speaker 2: disagreeing with them. They want to use force to silence you. Secondly,
- 16:07Speaker 2: he pointed out, Joe Biden is disgracefully denying Robert F.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Kennedy Junior Secret Service protection that despite the fact that
- 16:15Speaker 2: he is clearly pulling at the thresholds that would bear
- 16:19Speaker 2: at that protection, that he is facing significant threats of
- 16:23Speaker 2: political violence against him, and the tragic family history. His
- 16:28Speaker 2: father was assassinated when he was running for president, his
- 16:32Speaker 2: uncle was assassinated when he was president, and Joe Biden
- 16:36Speaker 2: and the Democrats are cynical enough that they're willing to
- 16:39Speaker 2: risk well, okay, if our FK Junior gets assassinated, that's
- 16:43Speaker 2: a risk Joe Biden's willing to take. It is disgraceful,
- 16:45Speaker 2: and we've called that out on this podcast before that,
- 16:49Speaker 2: of course, Joe Biden should give our FK Secret Service protection.
- 16:53Speaker 2: That's following the law, that is consistent with the law,
- 16:57Speaker 2: it's consistent with precedent, and the only reason not to
- 17:02Speaker 2: is pure partisan politics. Let me say something else. Look,
- 17:05Speaker 2: I have conversations with people all the time. I had
- 17:08Speaker 2: conversations with people today where they make comments about, Gosh,
- 17:13Speaker 2: I'm worried if Trump wins. He's an authoritarian, he's a dictator.
- 17:17Speaker 2: I'm worried what he will do. And you know, my
- 17:20Speaker 2: standard response is listen, I understand that. And sometimes Trump
- 17:25Speaker 2: has rhetoric that can be used to suggest that. That
- 17:32Speaker 2: being said, we don't have to hypothesize what Trump will
- 17:36Speaker 2: do as president. He was president for four years and
- 17:40Speaker 2: if you look at the time he was president, he
- 17:43Speaker 2: didn't abuse his power. He followed the law. If you
- 17:46Speaker 2: look at the policies he implemented, and I worked hand
- 17:49Speaker 2: in hand with Donald Trump, the policies he implemented worked.
- 17:52Speaker 2: We saw the lowest unemployment race in fifty years. We
- 17:55Speaker 2: saw the lowest African American unemployment ever recorded. We saw
- 17:59Speaker 2: the lowest Hispanic employment ever recorded. We saw peace and prosperity,
- 18:03Speaker 2: we saw the border secured, we saw peace breaking out
- 18:06Speaker 2: in the Middle East, and the Abraham Accords. All of
- 18:09Speaker 2: that played out. And if you look at what Trump did,
- 18:11Speaker 2: he didn't defy the law. He didn't ignore the law.
- 18:14Speaker 2: He didn't issue lawless executive orders. He followed the law. Now,
- 18:17Speaker 2: he demonstrated courage. He made decisions that were bold, but
- 18:21Speaker 2: they were within the law. Contrast that to Joe Biden.
- 18:25Speaker 2: Joe Biden number one is responsible for profoundly politicizing the
- 18:29Speaker 2: Department of Justice of the FBI. Number two is responsible
- 18:33Speaker 2: for the greatest assault on democracy we've ever seen, which
- 18:37Speaker 2: is the four indictments of Donald Trump, the abuse of
- 18:40Speaker 2: the legal process designed. Mind you, Trump is not the target,
- 18:44Speaker 2: the voters of the target. They're terrified the voters will
- 18:48Speaker 2: vote for Trump, and they're trying to prosecute for the
- 18:50Speaker 2: first time in history, and the second time in history,
- 18:53Speaker 2: and the third time in history, and the fourth time
- 18:55Speaker 2: in history, a former president and a leading presidential candidate
- 18:59Speaker 2: because they want to stop democracy from playing out. To
- 19:02Speaker 2: be clear, also, these are the same Democrats that in Colorado,
- 19:06Speaker 2: in Illinois and Maine threw Donald Trump off the ballot
- 19:10Speaker 2: because you know, nothing says defending democracy like stopping the
- 19:13Speaker 2: damn voters from voting. For the person you don't want
- 19:15Speaker 2: them to. This is Democrats. And let's be clear also,
- 19:19Speaker 2: Joe Biden when it comes to being a dictator to
- 19:23Speaker 2: being lawless. Look at what he's doing on the southern border.
- 19:26Speaker 2: He's utterly ignoring federal immigration law. He's releasing people into
- 19:30Speaker 2: this country. He's releasing criminals into this country. He's endangering
- 19:33Speaker 2: this country ten point four million illegal immigrants. It is lawless.
- 19:37Speaker 2: No president has ever done this. Barack Obama didn't do this.
- 19:41Speaker 2: Bill Clinton didn't do this. Jimmy Carter didn't do this.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Only Joe Biden is brazenly lawless. Let's be clear also
- 19:49Speaker 2: when it came to student loans, Joe Biden trying to
- 19:52Speaker 2: buy votes, tried to give away trillion dollars a trillion
- 19:55Speaker 2: dollars just in an effort to buy votes and win elections. Now,
- 19:59Speaker 2: a president can't give away a trillion dollars without Congress
- 20:02Speaker 2: passing legislation to do so. Joe Biden knows that the
- 20:05Speaker 2: lawyers and his administration know that they didn't care. They
- 20:08Speaker 2: wanted to lawlessly be political. And so, of course what
- 20:11Speaker 2: happened to the Supreme Court struck it down and said no,
- 20:15Speaker 2: the president doesn't have the ability to give away a
- 20:16Speaker 2: trillion dollars just to buy votes. By the way, same
- 20:19Speaker 2: thing happened with COVID vaccine mandates, utterly lawless, abusive, trying
- 20:24Speaker 2: to force people to get COVID vaccines. The president had
- 20:26Speaker 2: no authority to do it. Biden administration did so anyway,
- 20:29Speaker 2: what happened. The Supreme Court struck it down, said this
- 20:32Speaker 2: is lawless, this is not the federal law. You look
- 20:36Speaker 2: at who actually has been lawless and dictatorial? And I
- 20:41Speaker 2: agree with RFK, there's a powerful argument. The answer to
- 20:45Speaker 2: that is Joe Biden and not Donald Donald J. Trump,
- 20:48Speaker 2: And that makes CNN and every other corporate media entity
- 20:52Speaker 2: their heads explode.
- 20:54Speaker 1: As before, if you want to hear the rest of
- 20:56Speaker 1: this conversation on this topic, you can go back and
- 20:59Speaker 1: now the pod casts from earlier this week to hear
- 21:01Speaker 1: the entire thing. I want to get back to the
- 21:04Speaker 1: big story, number three of the week you may have missed. Finally, Senator,
- 21:09Speaker 1: I want to ask you about saying that happened this
- 21:10Speaker 1: last week, and it was a story that was I
- 21:15Speaker 1: was even shocked by it. The former RNC chairwoman was
- 21:22Speaker 1: hired by NBC News to become a commentator slash NBC News.
- 21:27Speaker 1: She was hired, It came out, and what ended up
- 21:31Speaker 1: happening was virtually every name that was a host of
- 21:36Speaker 1: a show, a big talent at NBC, including Met, the
- 21:40Speaker 1: press said we're not going to work with her, she's
- 21:44Speaker 1: a radical Trump extremist. January sixther We're not going to
- 21:49Speaker 1: work with her. And they literally ripped her on air
- 21:54Speaker 1: in a way that I didn't even think they would do,
- 21:56Speaker 1: but they did it. And here's a montage of just
- 21:58Speaker 1: how bad.
- 21:59Speaker 9: It was joined by former r and C chair Roni
- 22:02Speaker 9: McDaniel in her first interview since stepping down as party chair.
- 22:06Speaker 9: In full disclosure to our viewers, this interview was scheduled
- 22:09Speaker 9: weeks before it was announced that McDaniel would become a
- 22:12Speaker 9: paid NBC News contributor. This will be a news interview
- 22:16Speaker 9: and I was not involved in her hiring.
- 22:19Speaker 10: I think our bosses owe you an apology for putting
- 22:21Speaker 10: you in this situation. And look, there's a reason why
- 22:23Speaker 10: there's a lot of journalists at NBC News uncomfortable with this,
- 22:26Speaker 10: because many of our professional dealings with the RNC over
- 22:29Speaker 10: the last six years have been met with catilighting, have
- 22:32Speaker 10: been met with characters fascination.
- 22:34Speaker 3: We weren't asked our opinion of the hiring, but if
- 22:36Speaker 3: we were, we would have strongly objected to it.
- 22:38Speaker 6: At NBC News, either wittingly or unwittingly, is teaching election
- 22:42Speaker 6: deniers that what they can do stretches well beyond appearing
- 22:47Speaker 6: on our air and interviews to pedal lies about the
- 22:49Speaker 6: sanctity and integrity of our elections so that they can
- 22:52Speaker 6: do that as one of us, as badge carrying employees of.
- 22:57Speaker 3: NBC News, there is an easy way to avoid the
- 23:02Speaker 3: controversy NBC News has stumbled into.
- 23:06Speaker 4: Don't hire anyone close to the crimes.
- 23:10Speaker 7: She literally backed an illegal scheme to steal an election
- 23:15Speaker 7: in the.
- 23:16Speaker 4: State of Mission.
- 23:17Speaker 5: That is the type of experience that Ronald McDaniel brings
- 23:19Speaker 5: to the table, and that experience does not get us
- 23:22Speaker 5: to a deeper understanding of anything in the public debate.
- 23:25Speaker 11: I want to associate myself with all my colleagues, both
- 23:28Speaker 11: at MSNBC and at NBC News who have voiced loud
- 23:32Speaker 11: and principled objections to our company putting on the payroll
- 23:37Speaker 11: someone who hasn't just attacked us as journalists, but someone
- 23:42Speaker 11: who is part of an ongoing project to get rid
- 23:44Speaker 11: of our system of government.
- 23:46Speaker 1: Senator that was clearly orchestrated by the talent. They were
- 23:50Speaker 1: not going to work with her, and they were going
- 23:52Speaker 1: to ruin her career before it even started.
- 23:55Speaker 2: Well, look, NBC News sadly is a joke MSNBC News.
- 24:00Speaker 2: It would be a joke if anyone watched it. But
- 24:02Speaker 2: it's just sort of a left wing primal scream and
- 24:07Speaker 2: the utter hypocrisy of everyone else. So much of this
- 24:15Speaker 2: was started by Chuck Todd, and Chuck Todd had this
- 24:17Speaker 2: whole screed, this self righteous holier than the nou screed
- 24:21Speaker 2: that he did on Meet the Press. Now, here's an
- 24:24Speaker 2: interesting bit you may not know. Do you know how
- 24:27Speaker 2: Chuck Todd got his start? How was that as a
- 24:30Speaker 2: staffer in nineteen ninety two for the presidential campaign of
- 24:33Speaker 2: Senator Tom Harkin, a Democrat. So Chuck Todd was a
- 24:38Speaker 2: Democrat staffer on a presidential campaign. Mind, you're not just
- 24:40Speaker 2: in passing. But let's go back to Chuck Todd's predecessor,
- 24:44Speaker 2: Tim Russert. Tim Russer the gold standard of Meet the Press,
- 24:49Speaker 2: the gold standard of NBC News. Did you know what
- 24:52Speaker 2: Tim Russer did before he went NBC.
- 24:54Speaker 1: I'm gonna go out on a lem and say a
- 24:56Speaker 1: Democratic staffer.
- 24:57Speaker 2: He worked for US Senator Daniel Patrick Moore, a Democrat
- 25:01Speaker 2: from New York. He served as special counsel to Daniel
- 25:04Speaker 2: Patrick boynihan. He served as chief of staff to Daniel
- 25:08Speaker 2: Patrick Boynihan, and then in nineteen eighty three he became
- 25:11Speaker 2: a top aid to New York Governor Mario Cuomo, also
- 25:14Speaker 2: a Democrat. So he was a senior Democrat staffer over
- 25:19Speaker 2: and over again for multiple Democrats, and then he went
- 25:22Speaker 2: to NBC News. Let's fast forward George Stephanopolis. Where did
- 25:26Speaker 2: George Stephanopolis make his name as a senior press hack
- 25:30Speaker 2: for the Clinton White House? He was a political staffer
- 25:32Speaker 2: his entire life. By the way, he's the premier political
- 25:36Speaker 2: commentator at ABC now. And let's not forget Jensaki happily
- 25:41Speaker 2: ensconced at MSNBC. She was, of course Joe Biden's White
- 25:45Speaker 2: House press secretary. She stood up there and spin, baby spin,
- 25:49Speaker 2: baby spin, and she got hired basically straight from the
- 25:52Speaker 2: White House, where she continues to do the same job.
- 25:55Speaker 2: She is still, as far as I'm concerned, the White
- 25:57Speaker 2: House Press secretary she's actually a much better press secretary,
- 26:00Speaker 2: thank Karee John Pierre. Why because Kreen John Pierre is
- 26:05Speaker 2: not very good at her job. All she does is lie.
- 26:07Speaker 2: To Sak's credit, she actually rarely directly lied. She just pivoted,
- 26:12Speaker 2: she circled back, she spun, but she rarely made flat out,
- 26:17Speaker 2: demonstrably provable falsehoods, whereas Karan John Pierre seems to do
- 26:21Speaker 2: so on an almost daily basis. But the entirety of that, understand,
- 26:26Speaker 2: The position of NBC is, essentially, we cannot tolerate an
- 26:33Speaker 2: actual Republican who works for us. And by the way,
- 26:39Speaker 2: there were a few folks who got online and they said, no, no, no,
- 26:42Speaker 2: that's not true. That's not true. That's not true. Because
- 26:44Speaker 2: Nicole Wallace is on MSNBC and she was a Republican staffer,
- 26:48Speaker 2: and Joe Scarborough he was a Republican congressman. Well that's true.
- 26:54Speaker 2: They were in a prior life Republicans. But both Nicole
- 26:58Speaker 2: Wallace and Joe's Garber voted for Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden.
- 27:04Speaker 2: So the position of NBC News is we cannot actually
- 27:08Speaker 2: hire anybody who voted for Donald Trump as long as
- 27:11Speaker 2: you vote for Democrats. You could have been a Republican
- 27:14Speaker 2: long in your distant life, but you must have abandoned
- 27:17Speaker 2: half of the country and decided they're evil deplorables. Those
- 27:21Speaker 2: are the only people we are willing to hire.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Welcome to MSNBC and NBC News as you described it.
- 27:27Speaker 1: And again I'm not a big person advocating or supporting,
- 27:31Speaker 1: like oh, sue somebody, but I hope she gets a
- 27:34Speaker 1: big payday the way they treat her. And apparently she
- 27:37Speaker 1: found out she was fired through media reports, not even
- 27:40Speaker 1: from a phone call from NBC News. I hope that
- 27:44Speaker 1: she gets a huge payout from this. She deserves every
- 27:47Speaker 1: dime after watching her colleagues run her name through the
- 27:50Speaker 1: mud the way they did and treat her the way
- 27:52Speaker 1: they did so.
- 27:53Speaker 2: And let me make an important point on this. So
- 27:56Speaker 2: MSNBC has a niche as a hard left netwe that's
- 28:00Speaker 2: why they have so few viewers. But they're hard left.
- 28:03Speaker 2: Let me ask you something. Why does NBC, I mean
- 28:07Speaker 2: and and NBC pretends to actually be a real journalistic outfit.
- 28:12Speaker 2: Why do they have a subsidiary that is just a
- 28:14Speaker 2: hard left platform. By the way, they all decry Fox News,
- 28:20Speaker 2: but MSNBC is hard left unapologetically so. And by the way,
- 28:25Speaker 2: you know what the MS stands for Microsoft. Why exactly
- 28:29Speaker 2: is Microsoft funding hard left propaganda? Why is NBC? Why
- 28:34Speaker 2: are they okay with a network that has an explicit
- 28:38Speaker 2: ideological agenda. And one of the points to understand it
- 28:42Speaker 2: was NBC News that that hired Ron McDaniel. And and
- 28:48Speaker 2: I'm going to make the case to you there is
- 28:50Speaker 2: no difference between MSNBC and NBC. They are one and
- 28:54Speaker 2: the same. NBC no longer pretends to be journalists. They
- 28:59Speaker 2: are advocate hits. They are in MSNBC. They are the
- 29:02Speaker 2: left wing of the Democrat Party. There's a reason, by
- 29:05Speaker 2: the way, in the last presidential cycle they were thrown
- 29:08Speaker 2: out of moderating because they're so hardcore and partisan. Now,
- 29:13Speaker 2: I guess somebody in their corporate leadership decided they wanted
- 29:16Speaker 2: to at least have a nod of having somebody on
- 29:19Speaker 2: the staff who had voted with half of the country.
- 29:24Speaker 2: But let me ask you, Ben So, you actually have
- 29:27Speaker 2: been a paid conservative at a left wing network at CNA,
- 29:32Speaker 2: you were paid for a number of years. What was
- 29:34Speaker 2: that like then? And give us your perspectives from having
- 29:37Speaker 2: been in Rana's shoes. Although at a different time.
- 29:41Speaker 1: It's funny that you asked us because I was doing
- 29:43Speaker 1: out Numbered, hosting out Numbered on I think it was
- 29:45Speaker 1: Wednesday when this story broke and they came to me.
- 29:48Speaker 1: They're like, look, you've got an insting perspective. I said, yeah,
- 29:51Speaker 1: I was hired for My contract was extended when I
- 29:57Speaker 1: was at sen and I was there total of seven years,
- 29:59Speaker 1: but the last year was just and this is how
- 30:02Speaker 1: much it even changed. At CNN. They used to want
- 30:05Speaker 1: when they when Jeff Zucker took over a Grand Debate,
- 30:08Speaker 1: they wanted conservatives to have people that they thought were
- 30:11Speaker 1: well representing them so that consertives wouldn't, you know, basically
- 30:14Speaker 1: immediately skip over the channel. One Stunnald Trump. One in
- 30:19Speaker 1: sixteen Wills came off at CNN. They hated him. They
- 30:23Speaker 1: hated and they yelled and screamed and tried to turn
- 30:26Speaker 1: you into bigot, racist homophobes, NFOI everything they could and
- 30:30Speaker 1: try to ruin your career when you were on because
- 30:31Speaker 1: they couldn't yell at Trump, but they could yell at
- 30:33Speaker 1: you and you were supporting Trump or defending Trump. But
- 30:36Speaker 1: in the last year that I was there, they hired
- 30:39Speaker 1: me just to have my name on a piece of
- 30:41Speaker 1: paper as it get out a free jail card. When
- 30:43Speaker 1: someone said you guys have no conservatives, and they would
- 30:45Speaker 1: say no, no, no, no no. Look over here, we have
- 30:47Speaker 1: Ben Ferguson. In my last year, I did two appearances
- 30:52Speaker 1: on CNN. Now that's absurd from a financial standpoint. If
- 30:57Speaker 1: you were a financial person, why would you hire a
- 30:59Speaker 1: guy a salary and only have him come to work
- 31:01Speaker 1: two days out of three hundred and sixty five days
- 31:03Speaker 1: in a year. One of those two appearances was after
- 31:07Speaker 1: the Hollywood Reporter Today's story about me being benched, and
- 31:12Speaker 1: then they put me on the next day on a Saturday,
- 31:14Speaker 1: for four minutes just to say no, se he's not benched.
- 31:18Speaker 1: We just used him today and then never used me again.
- 31:22Speaker 1: And with Ronald McDowell, I have to say with her,
- 31:25Speaker 1: I think that's part of what they wanted. They wanted
- 31:28Speaker 1: to go into this election cycle saying, yes, we've got
- 31:31Speaker 1: a token concern. This lady just ran the RNC. See
- 31:35Speaker 1: we're not biased. We've got her on the air as always.
- 31:39Speaker 1: Thank you for listening to Verdict with Center, Ted Cruz,
- 31:42Speaker 1: Ben Ferguson with you don't forget to deal with my podcast,
- 31:45Speaker 1: and you can listen to my podcast every other day
- 31:47Speaker 1: you're not listening to Verdict, or each day when you
- 31:49Speaker 1: listen to Verdict. Afterwards, I'd love to have you as
- 31:51Speaker 1: a listener to again the Ben Ferguson Podcasts, and we
- 31:54Speaker 1: will see you back here on Monday morning.
