- 0:59Speaker 1: use that turn you go. You gotta turn to turn
- 1:41Speaker 1: them out. Turn You haven't got to turn them out
- 1:45Speaker 1: to turn the water the water go. Come come on
- 1:58Speaker 1: your thah, I shall well a good morning everybody. Y'all
- 2:05Speaker 1: listening to the voice? Come on dig me now one
- 2:09Speaker 1: it only Steve Harvey got a radio show. Okay. I
- 2:16Speaker 1: want to talk to you today about success. But I
- 2:22Speaker 1: want to talk to you about it like I usually
- 2:26Speaker 1: do in terms of a principle of it, but I
- 2:29Speaker 1: want to share something with you about it. And I
- 2:33Speaker 1: was talking to my daughter about it. I've talked about
- 2:37Speaker 1: my son in law about it, talked about it with
- 2:39Speaker 1: all my children, and I'm really starting to express it
- 2:42Speaker 1: to them now because I'm talking to a wide range
- 2:45Speaker 1: of people constantly. But I want to share something with you.
- 2:50Speaker 1: If you have any aspiration of being successful, I want
- 2:54Speaker 1: you to realize, starting right now, the effort that is
- 2:58Speaker 1: going to require. And that's why I think it stops
- 3:02Speaker 1: a lot of people. I think a lot of people
- 3:04Speaker 1: are never told or don't understand the sheer effort that's
- 3:10Speaker 1: that it takes to become successful at anything, in any
- 3:13Speaker 1: area of your life. If you think that doing your
- 3:16Speaker 1: best is enough, that I got news for you. It's not. Well, Steve,
- 3:24Speaker 1: what if you've done your best, though, and your best
- 3:27Speaker 1: ain't good enough? Well, let me ask you that same question.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Hold on. If you want to be successful and you've
- 3:34Speaker 1: done your best and best isn't good enough, what you through?
- 3:38Speaker 1: That's it? But Steve, it was my best? No no, no, no.
- 3:42Speaker 1: It was the best you had at that time, in
- 3:45Speaker 1: that particular day. But tomorrow add something to it. You've
- 3:52Speaker 1: you've never done everything. There is no you can't go
- 3:55Speaker 1: no more, you can't add no more. I've seen marathon
- 4:00Speaker 1: run us end up crawling across the line. I've seen
- 4:03Speaker 1: triath line people man just staggering in the street and
- 4:06Speaker 1: didn't want nobody to help them because they knew that
- 4:09Speaker 1: would disqualify them from the race. You got more? Have
- 4:15Speaker 1: you ever dipped into your reserve tank? That's what we're
- 4:19Speaker 1: talking about now. See all of us have a reserve tank,
- 4:24Speaker 1: you know, I you know, on my ranch. I like
- 4:26Speaker 1: to ride four wheelers. I have all terrain vehicles and
- 4:30Speaker 1: all of them have a gas tank on it and
- 4:33Speaker 1: a gas tank and most of mine, let me see
- 4:35Speaker 1: all of them. Yeah, all of them have gas tank
- 4:37Speaker 1: needles on them, and it lets me know. When I
- 4:40Speaker 1: get down towards eat there's a little lane that's read
- 4:44Speaker 1: that lets me know. Okay, Steve, you're in the danger zone.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Now you're riding into the lowest part of your tank.
- 4:51Speaker 1: But if I keep riding and I forget to get
- 4:53Speaker 1: some gas in there, guess what when it runs out
- 4:56Speaker 1: of gas. All of my all terrain vehicle, all of them, Honda, Polaris,
- 5:03Speaker 1: all of them. Those are the makers. There's a button
- 5:07Speaker 1: on the gas tank itself that I can click and
- 5:10Speaker 1: it says reserve. That means they know that for the
- 5:16Speaker 1: hardcore riders, they're gonna ride somewhere and they're gonna get
- 5:20Speaker 1: themselves into situation and they're gonna run out of everything.
- 5:24Speaker 1: They're gonna run out of road, they're gonna run out
- 5:26Speaker 1: of gas. They've prepared because they know for the hardcore rider,
- 5:31Speaker 1: every hardcore rider needs a reserve tank. And so there's
- 5:35Speaker 1: a button that you can click on the gas tank
- 5:38Speaker 1: that clicks it into a reserve, and it will give
- 5:41Speaker 1: you about fifty miles or twenty miles worth of gas
- 5:45Speaker 1: in that Now, guess what in that reserve That may
- 5:49Speaker 1: be all you need to get you to where you're going,
- 5:52Speaker 1: or get you back to safety so you can refuel.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Don't tell me you've done your best. When your best,
- 5:59Speaker 1: don't cut it. What you're gonna do. See when best
- 6:03Speaker 1: is possible, then good enough ain't enough. See that's good enough.
- 6:09Speaker 1: But if the best is possible, why would you not
- 6:11Speaker 1: shoot for that? And you you are all capable of
- 6:15Speaker 1: making it. But you've got to change your mind set
- 6:18Speaker 1: and realize the effort that has to be put forth
- 6:21Speaker 1: in becoming successful. You've got to do it relentlessly, over
- 6:26Speaker 1: and over and over and over and every day. I
- 6:30Speaker 1: try to do something to progress my life for the better.
- 6:34Speaker 1: I try to do something every day. I wake up
- 6:37Speaker 1: every day with the plan. Some phone calls, some meetings,
- 6:40Speaker 1: some some some interviews. Something man that's going to advance
- 6:45Speaker 1: and move the brand forward. Because here's what's gonna happen.
- 6:48Speaker 1: You are Let's say you reach your goal. Let's say
- 6:51Speaker 1: your goal is to make one hundred thousand dollars. Well,
- 6:56Speaker 1: I got news for you. Listen to this. When you
- 6:59Speaker 1: make the one hundred thousand dollars, you can't go nowhere
- 7:02Speaker 1: and go on vacation and put your hand behind your
- 7:05Speaker 1: head and say I made a hundred thousand dollars. Guess
- 7:07Speaker 1: what you got to do. You got to find a
- 7:10Speaker 1: way now to maintain that one hundred thousand, to keep
- 7:13Speaker 1: it coming in. So you can't just get there and
- 7:17Speaker 1: stop and rest and whoa. It is harder to maintain
- 7:21Speaker 1: your success than it is to get successful. See, let's say,
- 7:26Speaker 1: let me let me show you this. Supposed it takes
- 7:28Speaker 1: you five to eight years to find a way to
- 7:34Speaker 1: make fifty thousand dollars. Let's say it takes you five
- 7:37Speaker 1: to eight years to find a way to make an
- 7:40Speaker 1: extra fifty thousand dollars, and you finally, through work and effort,
- 7:44Speaker 1: you get to the fifty thousand dollars. More. That's that's
- 7:49Speaker 1: it's only just begun now, because guess what, in order
- 7:53Speaker 1: to keep the fifty coming in, you got to duplicate
- 7:57Speaker 1: what you did to get there. And then, oh, here's
- 8:01Speaker 1: what you're going to have the audacity being a human being.
- 8:05Speaker 1: You're gonna want another fifty because you're a human being,
- 8:10Speaker 1: because you gotta have something else to shoot for. Now
- 8:12Speaker 1: you're gonna want another fifty. Well, now that guess what
- 8:14Speaker 1: you gotta do. Now, Now you gotta do what you
- 8:16Speaker 1: did before, plus you gotta come up with something else.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Then after that you're gonna have the audacity. Because you're humans,
- 8:24Speaker 1: you're gonna want another fifty. Says how this works? And
- 8:30Speaker 1: see that that's the that's the importance of your relationship
- 8:33Speaker 1: with God, because you're gonna constantly need it and ain't
- 8:37Speaker 1: have a point where you're gonna be through needing it.
- 8:39Speaker 1: But there ain't gonna become a point in your life
- 8:41Speaker 1: where you're gonna through. Won't through be through, won't nothing
- 8:43Speaker 1: unless you don't just gave up. And if you don't
- 8:45Speaker 1: gave up, who wants that? Come on, y'all, this is
- 8:49Speaker 1: going to take quite a bit of effort, and if
- 8:53Speaker 1: you think it will come to you any other way,
- 8:55Speaker 1: you're sadly mistaken. Because of all the successful people I know,
- 9:00Speaker 1: I know that the effort they put out on a
- 9:02Speaker 1: daily basis is daunting, and I think that the average
- 9:05Speaker 1: person just doesn't understand the requirement of time and effort
- 9:09Speaker 1: that it takes to get that and willingness to put
- 9:12Speaker 1: it out. You gotta cut a lot of monkey business
- 9:15Speaker 1: out your life. All that hanging out, all that late
- 9:19Speaker 1: and all that club and all that drinking, all that.
- 9:22Speaker 1: You gotta cut a whole lot of monkey business out
- 9:24Speaker 1: to be successful. Man, if you're planning on being successful,
- 9:30Speaker 1: get up early, stay up late, work, try, think, meet, greet, smile, attract.
- 9:37Speaker 1: It takes a lot, let's go, but you can do it.
- 9:40Speaker 1: God is pressed to plassing out blessings all day long.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Why are you not in line for yours? I'm telling
- 9:46Speaker 1: you right now I want everything God got for me
- 9:49Speaker 1: because what he's shown me so far. Who if he
- 9:52Speaker 1: got some ore? Man on man? How good is God? Huh,
- 10:01Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, it is upon us the start of
- 10:04Speaker 1: a new day. Give all thanks to glory and honor
- 10:07Speaker 1: to God for that. Without him, you would be nothing.
- 10:11Speaker 1: I know I'm nothing without him. Just thought you might
- 10:14Speaker 1: feel the same way. Steve Harvey already show us on
- 10:17Speaker 1: and cracking, y'all. Charlotte Strawberry Colin for real, mouth to
- 10:22Speaker 1: south Junior and me Junior, what's up? Man? Uncle? Let
- 10:29Speaker 1: me ask you about this man, and I'm probably sure
- 10:32Speaker 1: you had a lot of this man entitled guaranteeing entitlements
- 10:38Speaker 1: from people. They feel like they gotta claim to your life.
- 10:42Speaker 1: They feel like they had to have a say so
- 10:45Speaker 1: on everything you do. But just the sense of them
- 10:48Speaker 1: trying to take over what you're doing, talk to you
- 10:51Speaker 1: any kind of way, and feel like they entitled to
- 10:53Speaker 1: what you have. Well, a few of those things you
- 10:58Speaker 1: can stop instantly, But some of it is a part
- 11:05Speaker 1: of guilt. As I've said before, Guilt this emost useless
- 11:11Speaker 1: human emotion that we have. It serves purposes. It serves
- 11:15Speaker 1: no one really except the manipulator who is using guilt
- 11:24Speaker 1: to hold you to what they need you to do
- 11:28Speaker 1: exactly agg example, oh so nasi, oh now you all that? Now, No,
- 11:35Speaker 1: we don't hear from you no more. Oh so na
- 11:40Speaker 1: oh oh, now you married them, we don't hear from
- 11:44Speaker 1: you no more. And then here's the people who take
- 11:49Speaker 1: who want to take full credit for your success. I remember,
- 11:53Speaker 1: for you had that job, you know, used to come
- 11:56Speaker 1: over and you know, and I feed you, you know,
- 11:59Speaker 1: let your stay here and watch TV, and I kept
- 12:03Speaker 1: your baby for you, you know, while you was trying
- 12:06Speaker 1: to do all that. But I see you there now,
- 12:08Speaker 1: I guess you don't need that no more. Here we go.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Here's another one. Don't forget where you come from. Seem
- 12:19Speaker 1: all of these things are people manipulating you through the
- 12:23Speaker 1: use of the emotion of guilt. So take guilt out
- 12:28Speaker 1: of it. There are people that you owe something to,
- 12:33Speaker 1: but you don't owe your success to anyone. You just don't.
- 12:40Speaker 1: And and and and and people would try to take it. Now,
- 12:43Speaker 1: the people in your life that's gotta say so, here's
- 12:49Speaker 1: a model for that. You have a say so, no more.
- 12:55Speaker 1: And we have a say so, no more. See when
- 13:02Speaker 1: people come up to me, I hang up, I ain't
- 13:05Speaker 1: got no conversation for you telling me what to do,
- 13:09Speaker 1: acting like you got a vote, because you don't. And
- 13:13Speaker 1: I'm not interested in your vote because your vote doesn't
- 13:16Speaker 1: have all the facts. Hello, okay, hello, So now now
- 13:21Speaker 1: what I've been through? Yeah, they don't no God, Yeah,
- 13:25Speaker 1: I'm dealing with your opinion of it when you clearly
- 13:29Speaker 1: don't have the facts. That's right, that's right, all right,
- 13:34Speaker 1: all right, thank you guys. Coming up. At thirty two
- 13:36Speaker 1: minutes after the hour, Junior is in for the nephew
- 13:39Speaker 1: to run that frank back right after this, you're listening
- 13:43Speaker 1: to show it is time now to start the morning
- 13:47Speaker 1: off with run that frank back. The nephew's out today, Junior.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Is in? What you got? Junior? Do anybody even know
- 13:55Speaker 1: where the nephew is? No? Because I'm asking something. Do
- 13:59Speaker 1: I get his check for this? Oh? Oh no? He no? No,
- 14:04Speaker 1: oh no, you definitely just stepping in. Okay, okay, man down?
- 14:09Speaker 1: Step up? Yeah, step up, because called next man up? Junior.
- 14:13Speaker 1: I just want to just know one because he shall
- 14:14Speaker 1: have been missing, That's all. I just want to know,
- 14:16Speaker 1: you know, he just you know, ever since Ready to
- 14:18Speaker 1: Love came on, he didn't change, That's all I know. Yeah,
- 14:21Speaker 1: y'all have y'all noticed? Yeah with me? Now? I called him?
- 14:26Speaker 1: He said, who is this? I said, I know? My
- 14:27Speaker 1: name came up. I know it now? Who is this?
- 14:30Speaker 1: Jackets is real small? You notice that always got something
- 14:36Speaker 1: on his lapel. Now it's like a pn a dove
- 14:39Speaker 1: keep something. Yeah, he keeps something on this. That's when
- 14:44Speaker 1: you changed. Well, let's get to this prank man prank
- 14:49Speaker 1: this morning is can your wife help me with my thesis?

- 15:46Speaker 1: for the end of the year. Uh, into the semester
- 15:49Speaker 1: man for med school. And then they told me your wife,
- 15:52Speaker 1: you know that might be able to help me out.
- 15:54Speaker 1: So I was hoping I could talk to her for
- 15:56Speaker 1: a second. If you're on mind, yeah, hold hold on
- 15:59Speaker 1: real quick, hold on, okay, I want to talk to you.

- 16:43Speaker 1: thesis a video and opposed to a report, so everything
- 16:47Speaker 1: is gonna be on video. So what I'm trying to
- 16:49Speaker 1: do is actually get a time where I can hook
- 16:51Speaker 1: up with you and maybe examine you and get all
- 16:54Speaker 1: that on video. So you say you want to video tape,
- 16:59Speaker 1: I will be giving you a um, you know, and

- 21:19Speaker 1: We'll talk about all of these stories at the top
- 21:21Speaker 1: of the hour, but right now it is time to
- 21:25Speaker 1: ask the c l O Chief Love Officer, Steve Harvey
- 21:30Speaker 1: Lowell in Saint Paul writes, my boyfriend loves sleeping naked
- 21:36Speaker 1: and I don't mind it. I don't mind it at all,
- 21:39Speaker 1: but it would be great if he showered before getting
- 21:44Speaker 1: into bed with me. What he prefers to shower in
- 21:48Speaker 1: the morning, and I get it, But how can I
- 21:50Speaker 1: get him to wash up before he tries to spoon
- 21:53Speaker 1: with me? Well, noobo, spobo six, I need this shower
- 22:00Speaker 1: before bad. That's nice. Yeah, you can throw some water
- 22:04Speaker 1: on your face in the morning, but we're gonna need
- 22:06Speaker 1: that bad before you climb up in here though. Yeah,
- 22:09Speaker 1: after all days, eight hours under this cover which you
- 22:12Speaker 1: ain't working, you need to rest off. Yeah, yes, ran
- 22:18Speaker 1: ranild Ranch, Yeah all right, that was an easy one. Steed,
- 22:24Speaker 1: Sheila and Roanux says, I'm fifty seven years old and
- 22:28Speaker 1: my husband and I are separated because I caught him
- 22:30Speaker 1: sexting with the woman. He had a new picture of
- 22:33Speaker 1: her on his phone and he said she just sent
- 22:35Speaker 1: it and he didn't ask her to. He swears he
- 22:38Speaker 1: hasn't cheated on me. But isn't this the first step
- 22:41Speaker 1: to cheating? Should I go talk to the woman? Well,
- 22:46Speaker 1: I don't see what going to talk to the woman does.
- 22:48Speaker 1: You're not married to her and she didn't extend any
- 22:51Speaker 1: vows to you. Your conversation is purely with your husband.
- 22:55Speaker 1: And if he says they haven't had set yet, that
- 23:00Speaker 1: a possibility. But now is that the first step to
- 23:04Speaker 1: having it? Well, let me just say this, if you
- 23:10Speaker 1: talk about it long enough, once you started talking about
- 23:17Speaker 1: it sexty, then you got to wonder what it would
- 23:22Speaker 1: really be like words into action. If this don't stop,
- 23:28Speaker 1: this could be a problem. And no, you shouldn't go
- 23:31Speaker 1: talk to the woman because no, that ain't who you married. Yeah, okay,
- 23:37Speaker 1: all right, that part all right. Moving on to Kimika
- 23:41Speaker 1: and Jacksonville. Kimika writes, I'm twenty eight years old and
- 23:44Speaker 1: I'm dating a forty four year old married man, and
- 23:47Speaker 1: he pays my rent. He had a key to my apartment,
- 23:51Speaker 1: so I had my locks changed. He got upset and
- 23:54Speaker 1: said that I violated the rules. I never agreed to
- 23:58Speaker 1: give him full access to me. He's married, so why
- 24:01Speaker 1: can't I have my privacy to date others? I mean,
- 24:06Speaker 1: you know what, y'all need to get these rules established
- 24:10Speaker 1: early before. Yeah, you know, why did he have a
- 24:15Speaker 1: key in the first place? So you gave him McKey?
- 24:20Speaker 1: Then you changed your locks. Now, he confused, because if
- 24:24Speaker 1: I'm paying for the place, it's because I can get
- 24:27Speaker 1: a key. Now you ain't got no key to his house,
- 24:31Speaker 1: nor will you get a key. Oh no, he's married now,
- 24:34Speaker 1: so you got to re establish what it is. Now
- 24:38Speaker 1: he may stop paying. Yeah, but you have to understand
- 24:42Speaker 1: now what it is you're in it for. That's right,
- 24:46Speaker 1: because this is a form of you know, this is control,
- 24:50Speaker 1: an arrangement, a contract. It's just an organized form of prostitution,
- 25:00Speaker 1: that's what it is. It's an organized prostitute right now.
- 25:06Speaker 1: So you call it what you want to call it,
- 25:08Speaker 1: But if you're doing performing sex for monetary gain, that's prostitution.
- 25:17Speaker 1: The fact that y'all regular have all the time there's
- 25:20Speaker 1: a lot of prostitutes got regular customer lots. Yeah. Is
- 25:27Speaker 1: everyone clear on what it is? One more time? It's
- 25:33Speaker 1: just a verbalized contractual form of prostitution. That's what it
- 25:40Speaker 1: is for. I will provide you monetary gain in exchange
- 25:45Speaker 1: for sexual faith. Okay. And the moneta's name was an
- 25:50Speaker 1: apartment with the key. You changed the lots, you know,
- 25:54Speaker 1: because you want to do some other stuff. Why are
- 25:57Speaker 1: you doing it? So? We got a problem? He upset
- 26:03Speaker 1: you changed the rules. Yeah, because he established the rules
- 26:07Speaker 1: when he gave you money. Yeah, she said, I never
- 26:10Speaker 1: agreed to give him full access to me. Well, when
- 26:13Speaker 1: you give him a key to the apartment and now
- 26:16Speaker 1: the key don't work anymore? What clears? Yeah? See what
- 26:22Speaker 1: do you think the check was for ya? I don't
- 26:27Speaker 1: know how you wanted to go your way anyway? He
- 26:30Speaker 1: didn't you say he was married? Yeah? Yeah, he's married,
- 26:33Speaker 1: and he had a key. She said, he had a key.
- 26:36Speaker 1: There's no right way to do this. You do know that,
- 26:39Speaker 1: because all this is wrong? Yeah, because he's married. That's
- 26:43Speaker 1: a right there. Now. I don't know how y'all want
- 26:45Speaker 1: some clear Oh this works for me? And when the
- 26:48Speaker 1: whole thing is wrong, So you know, grow up, put
- 26:52Speaker 1: your big girl panties on. This is what you signed
- 26:56Speaker 1: up or now y'all have to renegotiate the deal. Okay,
- 27:00Speaker 1: so now you may be down to just half rind
- 27:05Speaker 1: chipping in on the rind half access. I guess. Yeah,
- 27:10Speaker 1: you're gonna mess around and be one hundred dollars a
- 27:12Speaker 1: visit in a minute with money. All right, here we go.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Last one, Steve, Last one Felana and Arkansas says, I'm
- 27:24Speaker 1: married and I have a male best friend. We are
- 27:27Speaker 1: strictly platonic friends. We talked twenty four seven and enjoy
- 27:32Speaker 1: shopping together. My husband assumes that my best stie is
- 27:35Speaker 1: a new female I work with and he wants to
- 27:38Speaker 1: meet her. Would my husband flip out if I introduced
- 27:41Speaker 1: him to my tall, fine and chocolate new best friend.
- 27:45Speaker 1: Yeah yeah. Wouldn't you feel about if his new best
- 27:49Speaker 1: friend was a tall, fine chocolate chick. Yeah yeah, yeah,
- 27:55Speaker 1: so yeah, he gonna flip out? And you know you're wrong.
- 27:59Speaker 1: That's why you're right, letter uh huh. And he's so
- 28:01Speaker 1: fine yeah, okay, okay, now unless he's gay, get ready, Yeah,
- 28:09Speaker 1: because the flip and you know it, because he's fine yeah,
- 28:16Speaker 1: tall and yeah, yeah, y'all just talk twenty four seven,
- 28:20Speaker 1: you're gonna introduce him to your husband. Fit to be
- 28:22Speaker 1: a problem. But she's letting her husband think that it's
- 28:27Speaker 1: her her new co worker. She's letting her husband think that. Absolutely,
- 28:33Speaker 1: that's deception. That's no, no, no, that's lie lying. Yeah. Oh,
- 28:41Speaker 1: you're not upset that she's lying her. That's not what
- 28:44Speaker 1: I'm hearing, is it? Oh? See when women lie, because
- 28:51Speaker 1: y'all also always come out, why I do me and lie?
- 28:54Speaker 1: Why you lie? Why don't you just telling me they
- 28:57Speaker 1: ain't your co working down there, that he's a big, tall,
- 29:01Speaker 1: fine man and he goes shopping with me and who
- 29:05Speaker 1: and we talked twenty four entretail that truth. Yeah, she's
- 29:13Speaker 1: all right. See Ella, you nailed it today, Yes, you did.
- 29:17Speaker 1: Coming up at the top of the hour, we'll have
- 29:19Speaker 1: some entertainment news for you right after this. You're listening
- 29:24Speaker 1: morning show. The jury and R Kelly's federal trial in
- 29:29Speaker 1: Chicago on Friday watched graphic videos that prosecutors say show
- 29:34Speaker 1: the singer sexually assaulting his god daughter when she was
- 29:38Speaker 1: as young as fourteen. The videos are key evidence in
- 29:42Speaker 1: the prosecution's case. Against our Kelly, who was accused of
- 29:45Speaker 1: producing child pornography and rigging his two thousand and eight
- 29:50Speaker 1: child pornography trial in Cook County. The witness, who is
- 29:54Speaker 1: now thirty seven year old, she's thirty seven year old
- 29:57Speaker 1: niece of R and B singer Sparkle, took the stand
- 30:00Speaker 1: and as Jane Doe, she told the jury how she
- 30:03Speaker 1: and R. Kelly started to have sex when she was
- 30:05Speaker 1: only fourteen. She had intercourse hundreds of times before her
- 30:09Speaker 1: eighteenth birthday. She was not the only young girl in R.
- 30:12Speaker 1: Kelly's bedroom. He secretly recorded some of their sex acts.
- 30:16Speaker 1: The smoke detectors on his bedroom ceiling were hidden cameras. Actually,
- 30:21Speaker 1: R Kelly failed to have the fake detectors removed before
- 30:25Speaker 1: selling his home, and the next owner made the creepy discovery.
- 30:28Speaker 1: Until the trial, Jane Doe and her family have publicly
- 30:32Speaker 1: denied she was abused, and Jane Doe has testified she
- 30:35Speaker 1: lied to a Cook County grand jury before the two
- 30:38Speaker 1: thousand and eight child pornography trial, where, if you recall,
- 30:42Speaker 1: Kelly was acquitted. Asked why after all these years she
- 30:46Speaker 1: continued the relationship or the friendship with R. Kelly into
- 30:51Speaker 1: her adulthood. She said, I no longer want to carry
- 30:55Speaker 1: his lies. So her aunt, Singer Sparkle, says that some
- 31:00Speaker 1: of her niece's testimony is not true. She didn't say
- 31:03Speaker 1: which ones. R Kelly is on trial and a thirteen
- 31:06Speaker 1: counter indictment including child pornography and obstruction of justice charges.
- 31:10Speaker 1: The trial is expected to last four weeks. That's a lot,
- 31:15Speaker 1: well she What Sparkle says is some of the girls
- 31:18Speaker 1: testimony is not true. See, so which part of it
- 31:22Speaker 1: is okay? Is? Yeah? See which part of this is okay?
- 31:28Speaker 1: Because see, I don't have nothing for you when it
- 31:31Speaker 1: comes to kids. Now you and grown women, man, grown women,
- 31:36Speaker 1: consensual consensual impeded visits. Yeah, I ain't got nothing to
- 31:43Speaker 1: say about that. Yeah, the fourteen when this involves a child,
- 31:48Speaker 1: I got nothing for you. No part of this is good?
- 31:51Speaker 1: Which part of it is good? We had sex, not
- 31:55Speaker 1: hundreds of time, just twenty Okay, that's better. Uh No,
- 32:02Speaker 1: he feeled. And but they got video footage? Yeah, yeah,
- 32:07Speaker 1: because you don't took a smoke detective turned it into
- 32:09Speaker 1: a camera. Man. The sickness of it all. Now you
- 32:14Speaker 1: didn't get that took out? Now you n the new
- 32:17Speaker 1: homeowner discover that yeah, yeah, he got some more court cases.
- 32:21Speaker 1: He gonna be on the prison door, it would even
- 32:23Speaker 1: be on Yeah. And then by him being acquitted in
- 32:27Speaker 1: two thousand and eight, he continued that behavior and that
- 32:31Speaker 1: this is why he is where he is now. You know. Yeah,
- 32:35Speaker 1: that's it. He got off because she lied. M Yeah,
- 32:40Speaker 1: oh this is this is heavy. This is it really
- 32:43Speaker 1: is this is this is really something. It's really it's
- 32:45Speaker 1: really sad, man. It's sad because he was such a talent,
- 32:51Speaker 1: oh yeah, without a doubt and had moments of being
- 32:55Speaker 1: a cool guy when you just sit him chop it
- 32:58Speaker 1: up with him. There was moments of that really well,
- 33:02Speaker 1: but you didn't know nobody. Yeah yeah, you didn't know
- 33:07Speaker 1: behind closed doors what he was doing and what he
- 33:09Speaker 1: was capable of. Yeah yeah, yeah, all right, we're moving on.
- 33:15Speaker 1: In other news, um entertainment news, Dennis Rodman, NBA legend
- 33:19Speaker 1: Dennis Rodman said he quote got permission to go to
- 33:24Speaker 1: Russia to seek the release of w NBA star Britney Griner,
- 33:28Speaker 1: who of course, has been sentenced to nine years in
- 33:31Speaker 1: prison on drug charges. Rodman told Rodman told NBC News
- 33:36Speaker 1: that he got permission to go to Russia to help
- 33:39Speaker 1: that girl. He went on to say he knows Russian
- 33:41Speaker 1: President Vladimir Putin too well, so I go ahead, yeah yeah,
- 33:50Speaker 1: Ki John, Yeah yeah, Korea and pull it off there
- 33:54Speaker 1: on the gil rodman a big reward and straighten his
- 33:58Speaker 1: life out. Yeah, yeah, I hope he does. Hopefully, hopefully
- 34:04Speaker 1: he can. Yeah, I hope he can. I'm willing. Yeah,
- 34:06Speaker 1: I'm glad he's even willing to try and go over there,
- 34:09Speaker 1: thank you. I think it's noble as hell, right on, Dennis, exactly,
- 34:15Speaker 1: I'm not going over there. You don't know Vladimir like that. No,
- 34:20Speaker 1: it'll be looking in my shaving lotion and stuff. It's
- 34:25Speaker 1: too much. Yeah, I'll be over there traveling so light.
- 34:29Speaker 1: Excuse me, what are your dru had some baby all on?
- 34:36Speaker 1: What kind of all? Y'all gonna think you ain't got nothing, Harry,
- 34:40Speaker 1: We don't recognize you. You haven't shaved. No, I ain't
- 34:43Speaker 1: got nothing in my bad So we found it you back.
- 34:48Speaker 1: I don't know how you did. I didn't bring it back.
- 34:52Speaker 1: You didn't away, saying if it takes me a month,
- 34:55Speaker 1: I'm aware the same thing this month. Yeah, that's man,
- 35:01Speaker 1: But come on, Dennis, feel great it really would, it
- 35:09Speaker 1: really would? Yeah, love that? All right, Um, last story,
- 35:14Speaker 1: Miss Jackson. If your nasty, remember that saying right, people
- 35:19Speaker 1: who use old school Microsoft system people who use old
- 35:23Speaker 1: school Microsoft systems, their computers will crash if users play
- 35:28Speaker 1: Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation video. Microsoft principal software engineer said,
- 35:33Speaker 1: it's not Janet's dancing in the video, it was that
- 35:36Speaker 1: in the video, the laptops were triggered by a particular
- 35:40Speaker 1: tone that repeated throughout the video. The sound was so
- 35:42Speaker 1: powerful that it was even capable of shutting down computers
- 35:46Speaker 1: near the laptop playing the video. Janet Jackson, I mean,
- 35:50Speaker 1: she's such an icon. She's such an icon that she's
- 35:53Speaker 1: she's over here shutting down computers if you play her videos.
- 35:57Speaker 1: I love it. I love it, Miss Jackson. Yeah. All right,
- 36:01Speaker 1: coming up in twenty minutes after the hour, go vote.
- 36:04Speaker 1: We'll tell you where. Right after this, you're listening to
- 36:08Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, Steve Harvey Nation. Listen up.
- 36:12Speaker 1: Every Tuesday until the midterms, we are going to update
- 36:16Speaker 1: you on important voting information. All Right, Today, there are
- 36:20Speaker 1: primaries in Florida, Oklahoma, and New York. They're about seventy
- 36:24Speaker 1: seven days now seventy seven days until the midterms, and
- 36:29Speaker 1: in Texas the gubernatorial race is heating up. Just recently,
- 36:33Speaker 1: Democratic candidate Beta O'Rourke went off on a heckler who
- 36:37Speaker 1: laughed during his speech about Ubaldi school shootings. Take a listen,
- 36:41Speaker 1: now eleven weeks since we lost nineteen kids, and there
- 36:46Speaker 1: are two teachers shot to death with a weapon originally
- 36:50Speaker 1: designed for use in combat, legally purchased by an eighteen
- 36:54Speaker 1: year old but did not try to obtain one when
- 36:56Speaker 1: he was sixteen or seventeen, but followed the law on
- 37:00Speaker 1: the books, ladies and gentlemen that says that you can
- 37:02Speaker 1: buy not one, you can buy two or more if
- 37:05Speaker 1: you want to. You a R fifteen hundreds of rounds
- 37:09Speaker 1: of ammunition, and take that weapon that was originally designed
- 37:12Speaker 1: for use on the battlefields in Vietnam to penetrate an
- 37:15Speaker 1: enemy soldier's helmet at five hundred feet and knock him
- 37:18Speaker 1: down dead up against kids at five feet. It may
- 37:22Speaker 1: be funny you, it's not funny to me. That beats
- 37:28Speaker 1: over my absolute all time favorite cuss word of all times,
- 37:34Speaker 1: thirteen letters in it and stars with an M. It
- 37:39Speaker 1: is the King of and it ends with a A. Now,
- 37:43Speaker 1: bet a rock, put the R on the end of it.
- 37:46Speaker 1: The R. Yeah, he R on the end of it.
- 37:49Speaker 1: But it officially it ends in an eight. Yeah. And
- 37:53Speaker 1: according to CBS News, they're about twenty one Republican gubernatorial
- 37:57Speaker 1: candidates who have expressed barrying views about the twenty twenty election.
- 38:01Speaker 1: Some have falsely proclaimed the election was stolen. Others have
- 38:04Speaker 1: been evasive when asked if Biden's victory was legitimate. If
- 38:08Speaker 1: you are a voter, please listen to this. This is
- 38:12Speaker 1: very important. Governors play a major role in election signing
- 38:16Speaker 1: or vetoing legislation about election rules, sometimes unilaterally changing those rules,
- 38:22Speaker 1: appointing key election officials, and critically certifying election results. Please
- 38:28Speaker 1: do your part and get out there and vote. Go
- 38:31Speaker 1: to when we all vote dot org to get your
- 38:34Speaker 1: voting information. Okay, that's when we all vote dot org. Yeah,
- 38:39Speaker 1: we have to get it, everybody. We have to These
- 38:41Speaker 1: are mere terms. We have to vote. We cannot play
- 38:44Speaker 1: with this. Yeah, you see what they're doing. Man. They
- 38:46Speaker 1: put that extra Supreme Court judge in there, that Republican
- 38:49Speaker 1: they got right in there and vetoed role versus way. Yeah,
- 38:53Speaker 1: they gonna do some others. They're gonna get rid of
- 38:55Speaker 1: gay rights and all that stuff. And when they get
- 38:57Speaker 1: it in there. Why so that's floor to Oklahoma and
- 39:01Speaker 1: New York and people of color, you in all of them. Yeah,
- 39:05Speaker 1: that's it. Vote all right, when we all vote dot
- 39:09Speaker 1: org to get your voting information. Coming up in thirty
- 39:11Speaker 1: four minutes after the hour. We'll check your voicemail Steve.
- 39:14Speaker 1: Right after this, you're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show. It
- 39:20Speaker 1: is time now to check Steve's voicemail and listen. If
- 39:23Speaker 1: you want to leave a voicemail yourself for Steve, call
- 39:25Speaker 1: him eight seven seven twenty nine. Steve eight seven seven
- 39:29Speaker 1: twenty nine, Steve, let's go to this caller just left
- 39:32Speaker 1: a message for you, Steve. What's up, Steve Harvey? Food
- 39:36Speaker 1: man turning radio down? Y'all can't be playing that painted
- 39:39Speaker 1: early in the morning. Man, y'all have me late for work.
- 39:42Speaker 1: Old lady heard that song come out of the bathroom
- 39:45Speaker 1: slow dancing. And then and then well we'll leave it
- 39:48Speaker 1: at that. Well, yeah, y'all have me late for work?
- 39:50Speaker 1: Then morning? Did one time know that? Keep up a
- 39:52Speaker 1: good for it, y'all have a good day. Yeah, you're
- 39:55Speaker 1: absolutely welcome, sir, Absolutely welcome. We're gonna try to get
- 40:00Speaker 1: you again one morning later on this week. Thank you.
- 40:02Speaker 1: Oh goodness, but we do. This one's from Jasmine from Detroit.
- 40:14Speaker 1: Jasmine needs some parenting advice. Steve. Hi, Uncle Steve. This
- 40:18Speaker 1: is Jasmine from Detroit. I was calling because I wanted
- 40:22Speaker 1: to get some advice from you. I'm very far. I'm
- 40:26Speaker 1: a single mom. I've been single for almost ten years now,
- 40:30Speaker 1: i am divorced, and I know you talk a lot
- 40:34Speaker 1: about how men should be fathers and how women shouldn't
- 40:38Speaker 1: hold their kids away from the fathers for you know,
- 40:41Speaker 1: trivial things. In my case, I'm not a mom that
- 40:45Speaker 1: keeps my son away from his father. His father just
- 40:47Speaker 1: doesn't want to do right. My son is fourteen years old.
- 40:50Speaker 1: I want to know what would you say for single
- 40:54Speaker 1: moms that don't have a support system and don't have
- 40:57Speaker 1: fathers and their lives are males in their lives that
- 41:00Speaker 1: can influence their sons. What advice would you give to us?
- 41:04Speaker 1: And also I would like to ask would you be
- 41:07Speaker 1: writing a book on single mom raising sons for theirselves? Okay,
- 41:12Speaker 1: thank you. Listen. As far as this the boy goes,
- 41:17Speaker 1: you have to get him in some type of program
- 41:19Speaker 1: where there's sports, Scouts or one hundred Black Men Boys
- 41:25Speaker 1: and Girls Club are because you have to get him
- 41:28Speaker 1: in a position where mentoring is occurring. Also, I would
- 41:33Speaker 1: attempt to call the father and say, listen, he really
- 41:37Speaker 1: needs you. He's going through it. Your absenteeism in his
- 41:41Speaker 1: life is hurting him at this point. And I'm not
- 41:45Speaker 1: gonna get in the way, but I just really need
- 41:48Speaker 1: you to spend some time with your son because I
- 41:51Speaker 1: don't know how to turn him into a man, and
- 41:54Speaker 1: you do, and he really needs that. I would really
- 41:58Speaker 1: appreciate the help from you. I won't bother you with
- 42:01Speaker 1: anything if you would just spend some time. You gotta
- 42:04Speaker 1: try that at least. I know that's maybe uncomfortable for
- 42:09Speaker 1: you because I don't know how you all got away
- 42:11Speaker 1: from each other, what's the cause a break up or
- 42:13Speaker 1: the separation. But when it comes to for the children,
- 42:17Speaker 1: you had to make some uncomfortable decisions sometimes and do
- 42:22Speaker 1: some things that's uncomfortable. Man, he ain't gonna tie to
- 42:24Speaker 1: sleeping with you again, not that uncomfortable, but I mean,
- 42:28Speaker 1: you know, having a conversation with your ax is worth
- 42:32Speaker 1: a try. But other than that. The programs that are
- 42:35Speaker 1: out there, sports Scouting, Boys and Girls Club one hundred
- 42:41Speaker 1: Black Men had a wonderful mentoring program. M Steve, K
- 42:49Speaker 1: no about this, No, no, no, I won't be writing
- 42:53Speaker 1: a book about that. No. No, it's too much custom
- 42:57Speaker 1: to be in that book. So you get cussing a book,
- 43:02Speaker 1: just not on the radio. Yeah, glad you're gonna be
- 43:10Speaker 1: using tell your children because it just ticks me off
- 43:14Speaker 1: a bit too, because I need for brothers. I need
- 43:17Speaker 1: men out there to just look. Man, I know, I
- 43:20Speaker 1: know how they can be sometime. I've had X with kids.
- 43:24Speaker 1: It can be a whole bunch of challenges, but you
- 43:27Speaker 1: gotta fight through them. Yeah, because your job as the dad.
- 43:32Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you right now when I learned it.
- 43:36Speaker 1: God does not release you from that responsibility, fellas. He
- 43:40Speaker 1: just don't. He don't ever let you off the hook
- 43:43Speaker 1: because whatever excuse you got, it ain't it ain't gonna
- 43:46Speaker 1: do it because you're the father. So it's your job
- 43:50Speaker 1: to be the dad. H Yeah, all right, great advice, Jasmine.
- 43:57Speaker 1: All right, thank you, Steve. Come up at coming up
- 44:01Speaker 1: next it is the nephew and the prank phone call.
- 44:05Speaker 1: But guess what he's not here, and Junior is and
- 44:08Speaker 1: we're gonna deal with the prank phone call for today
- 44:11Speaker 1: right after this you're listening to show coming up at
- 44:18Speaker 1: the top of the hour, about four minutes after. It's
- 44:20Speaker 1: my strawberry letter for today, and the subject is why
- 44:23Speaker 1: does he keep me around? Why does he keep me around?
- 44:28Speaker 1: We'll find out. We'll get into it in just a
- 44:30Speaker 1: few but right now today Junior is in for the
- 44:33Speaker 1: nephew with today's prank phone call. What you got for us, Junior?
- 44:37Speaker 1: You know last year you got the nephew Downay, we
- 44:45Speaker 1: started prank you know last year. So good, what nephew,
- 44:52Speaker 1: I'm stepping up once again in place of nephew he's
- 44:56Speaker 1: not here once again with no pay. I will do
- 44:59Speaker 1: this now. Not trying to make more money. I just
- 45:02Speaker 1: I mean, at least, I ain't trying to get a
- 45:05Speaker 1: whole lot. Just at least just a lunch from the
- 45:08Speaker 1: nephew or something, just anything. He just your uncle pays him.
- 45:13Speaker 1: So well, you know, well, I don't know not to
- 45:17Speaker 1: ask him. I've been not ask I know I've got
- 45:24Speaker 1: that lessons what yeah, okay, go ahead, let me just
- 45:34Speaker 1: see if how you the nephew ain't here. I'm doing
- 45:38Speaker 1: his prank and I just want to know is it
- 45:41Speaker 1: possible I can get a raised? Yeah? Yeah, right after covida.
- 45:50Speaker 1: How that word. As soon as COVID is though, it's
- 45:54Speaker 1: here to stand, it will be here never Well, you
- 45:58Speaker 1: need to start praying there. That's when I'm passing out raised.
- 46:03Speaker 1: It's when COVID is over. For covidin the flue like
- 46:10Speaker 1: the blue who's here? It's listen. This pandemic has caused
- 46:15Speaker 1: it upheaval in the economy. I'm still trying to recover from. Yeah,
- 46:20Speaker 1: I'm gonna need everybody in recovery mode. Now we can
- 46:24Speaker 1: look at these raises again once COVID is over. Is
- 46:29Speaker 1: that for everybody else? Everybody that can hear this. Let's
- 46:35Speaker 1: just get to the prank here. It is wedding at
- 46:37Speaker 1: the funeral. Comeball can't hello? Ryan? Hi, I'm trying to Ryan, Ryan.
- 46:43Speaker 1: How you doing? Hey, I'm good, I'm second. This is
- 46:46Speaker 1: Josh Josh over at the I want to be officials
- 46:48Speaker 1: at the church where you guys are getting married tomorrow? Yeah? Yeah,
- 46:52Speaker 1: how you doing? Man? They want to thank y'all for
- 46:54Speaker 1: that too. Man, We'll appreciate it sure. Yeah, well, we
- 46:57Speaker 1: definitely hope to make you a member here soon or later.
- 46:59Speaker 1: And you guys are getting married. You know. Hey, man,
- 47:02Speaker 1: you know I'm trying to get this worst schedule change up.
- 47:04Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. They got me working on
- 47:06Speaker 1: Sundays now, man, So sons, I tweaked at the mood
- 47:09Speaker 1: that around a little bit. I'll be there. Okay, listen,
- 47:11Speaker 1: we have a bit of a situation that's come up.
- 47:13Speaker 1: We had some problems and miscommunication and it's definitely been
- 47:17Speaker 1: on the outside. They had your name Ryan down here
- 47:21Speaker 1: with your phone number as well as you're soon to
- 47:24Speaker 1: be wife Sonya. They had her name here, but we
- 47:26Speaker 1: didn't want to call her with this. We wanted to
- 47:28Speaker 1: just reach out and talk to you and see if
- 47:30Speaker 1: it just make you ware of what was going on. Okay, well,
- 47:33Speaker 1: what's what's going on? Man, There's been a mix up
- 47:36Speaker 1: on scheduling. I don't know if you know Such the
- 47:38Speaker 1: Older make she passed away a week ago and you're
- 47:42Speaker 1: not you're not a member of the church, so you
- 47:44Speaker 1: wouldn't know it. But she's one of the one of
- 47:45Speaker 1: the oldest members here at the church. Such the Older
- 47:48Speaker 1: may passed away and what's going on? Is you all's
- 47:52Speaker 1: wedding is tomorrow at twelve o'clock, right, but the actual
- 47:57Speaker 1: funeral is at three of clod here at the church. Okay, uh,
- 48:03Speaker 1: but shame again, brother would Josh Josh? Okay look here,
- 48:07Speaker 1: brother Josh, um hey man, we we we already got
- 48:11Speaker 1: this thing in motion. Man, we didn't stand now they
- 48:13Speaker 1: have been a two hundred differentations. Man, I mean blessed
- 48:17Speaker 1: old man and and and I understand that, but but
- 48:20Speaker 1: but I mean, you know, she's there's no way we
- 48:22Speaker 1: could have moved it around down. The biggest problem the
- 48:25Speaker 1: funeral home is bringing the casket first thing in the morning.
- 48:29Speaker 1: So what I want what I wanted to make you
- 48:30Speaker 1: aware of, and I didn't want you to tell your
- 48:32Speaker 1: wife this, but the actual casket will be in the
- 48:35Speaker 1: Saint ar but we will have it. Hold hold on, man,
- 48:38Speaker 1: are you serious? Now? Look at y'all need to move
- 48:42Speaker 1: this round. I don't know what y'all gonna do. Y'all
- 48:44Speaker 1: have a fellowship all in the back something like that. Ryan.
- 48:49Speaker 1: The only place we can actually put the casket, and
- 48:51Speaker 1: if we didn't put it there, is in the actual
- 48:53Speaker 1: room that you'll you'll soon to be wife would be
- 48:55Speaker 1: changing in that's the only place could have changed, no
- 49:00Speaker 1: room when it was dead body. But you can't even
- 49:03Speaker 1: and you know what, I understood that, that's the first
- 49:05Speaker 1: thing I thought of, thought, I said. And they still
- 49:07Speaker 1: put the casket where it goes for the people of them,
- 49:10Speaker 1: and we're gonna cover it up and see basically you
- 49:12Speaker 1: actually didn't. But I can't even believe you call on
- 49:16Speaker 1: me with did man look at and excuse my french man? Yeah,
- 49:20Speaker 1: I know I need to get back in the church,
- 49:21Speaker 1: I really do. But right now, Doug, this ain't going
- 49:24Speaker 1: down like this man, we didn't already paid the money
- 49:27Speaker 1: when first First, first of all, first of all, you
- 49:30Speaker 1: know she I don't even feel like she may had
- 49:32Speaker 1: to pay, you know, to hold no wedding over at
- 49:35Speaker 1: hut church where she paid. Tis that that's that's the
- 49:37Speaker 1: first thing. You know. I ain't like that from the jumping.
- 49:40Speaker 1: But I wouldn't hear when women because she won't her
- 49:41Speaker 1: pasta to marry us. And now you got the nerd
- 49:44Speaker 1: to tell me that y'all, well, arrange something that funeral
- 49:47Speaker 1: gonna happen the same day as my wedding, and my
- 49:49Speaker 1: wife's got to get dressed in the room with a
- 49:51Speaker 1: dead body. Well, no, we're not gonna put her in
- 49:54Speaker 1: that bro I was like, I said, I'm putting that
- 49:56Speaker 1: body first thing in the morning. I'm gonna put that
- 49:58Speaker 1: body in the right there in front of the fullfit,
- 50:02Speaker 1: and we're gonna cover it. Now, what you're getting out
- 50:04Speaker 1: of is you get more flowers, because there's gonna be
- 50:07Speaker 1: flowers from the funeral. So I'm thinking that's probably gonna
- 50:10Speaker 1: be a little bit of a person point. I just
- 50:12Speaker 1: wanted you to be as probably gonna be more people
- 50:15Speaker 1: than you think because some of the people that's gonna
- 50:17Speaker 1: be at your wedding, it's really for the funeral. A
- 50:20Speaker 1: hold of man, are you serious? Righting owt? I mean,
- 50:23Speaker 1: look at doctor, i'dn't paid for the wedding happened at
- 50:27Speaker 1: this church, man, Okay, ain't. And no disrespect to the
- 50:29Speaker 1: lady that is passed called blessed so family, I ain't
- 50:32Speaker 1: planning to not putting no dead body having a funeral
- 50:36Speaker 1: at my wedding. Man, that's crazy down on that church too, sir.
- 50:41Speaker 1: She's a member of the church too. I don't give it.
- 50:44Speaker 1: I don't being no member of the church. Man, I've
- 50:46Speaker 1: been paid for this wed and it's gonna happen tomorrow. Man,
- 50:49Speaker 1: you go six and of putting the dead body. It's
- 50:52Speaker 1: my wedding. Ryan, Ryan, I mean no disrespect, but the
- 51:00Speaker 1: woman has passed. She is not gonna get up. I mean,
- 51:03Speaker 1: what is the problem. The problem is YA called me
- 51:06Speaker 1: with this man the day before my wind, and we
- 51:08Speaker 1: didn't schedule there six months ago. I spend twenty five
- 51:11Speaker 1: thirty thousand dollars on this wind, okay, And you're gonna
- 51:14Speaker 1: tell me that we got to share our win with
- 51:16Speaker 1: a funeral, but the Hillers won't with you? Man, do
- 51:19Speaker 1: you want to have? You're winning at this church? I
- 51:22Speaker 1: pay for them, and which we want? I'm having the wind? Okay.
- 51:25Speaker 1: I'll tell you what lit the about the BP in
- 51:27Speaker 1: the marn and I rolling right out to the street
- 51:29Speaker 1: playing y'all sting in the front and and and throw
- 51:32Speaker 1: flowers like throwing rice. But we're gonna have a wind
- 51:35Speaker 1: inside the same tier tomorrow. I promise you that I can't.
- 51:38Speaker 1: I care not assure you that it won't be. I
- 51:41Speaker 1: have no other place to put the body, Okay, Well,
- 51:43Speaker 1: I'll bet y'all find someone to put it if I
- 51:45Speaker 1: get that a march. It's a body in there. It's
- 51:47Speaker 1: gonna be a couple of about it in there name.
- 51:49Speaker 1: You got two choices to move that funeral or to
- 51:52Speaker 1: reimburse me back this thirty thousand dollars out of an
- 51:55Speaker 1: hour to spend those only two choices. I want to
- 51:57Speaker 1: hear about it. Meet me at the front door to
- 51:58Speaker 1: night with a thirty thous and dollar cashier check. Always
- 52:01Speaker 1: said to have his winning up in that tomorrow morning.
- 52:03Speaker 1: You heard me. I ain't playing. I ain't playing at all.
- 52:06Speaker 1: No jokes. That's wrong with y'all. Man. You can do
- 52:09Speaker 1: something else, man, I understand that I don't want to
- 52:13Speaker 1: from you. Man. All I'm saying is it's gonna be
- 52:16Speaker 1: a winning at this church tomorrow without saying dead about it.
- 52:20Speaker 1: That's all I'm saying. Push it to the band. Man.
- 52:23Speaker 1: There's there's one more, a bit of an issue that
- 52:25Speaker 1: I need to tell you. Also, What can be worse
- 52:27Speaker 1: than a dead about it? What issue can be worse dead?
- 52:29Speaker 1: By that way? The man the issue, sir, that it
- 52:32Speaker 1: is worse than the dead body is. This is Nephew

- 54:37Speaker 1: Strawberry Letter. My good friend, Shirley Strawberry. Give Junior a raise.
- 54:43Speaker 1: Thank you Junior. Subject why does he keep me around?
- 54:48Speaker 1: Dear Stephen, Shirley, My husband and I have been married
- 54:51Speaker 1: for fourteen years and we're hanging on by a thread.
- 54:55Speaker 1: We have two children, and sometimes I wonder if that's
- 54:58Speaker 1: why he stays with me. We never talk about our problems.
- 55:02Speaker 1: Things have happened in our marriage that would make a
- 55:04Speaker 1: normal couple split up, but we're not normal. At our wedding,
- 55:08Speaker 1: one of his exes showed up and cried loudly while
- 55:11Speaker 1: we set our vows. She was escorted out and he
- 55:14Speaker 1: apologized to me on the altar. It was supposed to
- 55:18Speaker 1: be the happiest day of my life, but it was ruined.
- 55:22Speaker 1: That was the first red flag, and over the years
- 55:25Speaker 1: he kept me guessing about her. During our tenth year
- 55:29Speaker 1: of marriage, I had an accident one night and the
- 55:32Speaker 1: EMTs called my husband. I was in the car with
- 55:36Speaker 1: my boyfriend and he was pinned in the car. So
- 55:41Speaker 1: that's the night my husband found out I was having
- 55:44Speaker 1: an affair. My husband never asked me one question about
- 55:48Speaker 1: my affair, but he did make a joke about being
- 55:51Speaker 1: at the wrong place at the wrong time. After my accident,
- 55:54Speaker 1: there were nights that my husband did not come home
- 55:56Speaker 1: and didn't call me. I felt like I could not
- 56:00Speaker 1: say a word because I was because I was full
- 56:02Speaker 1: of so much guilt for getting caught cheating. We still
- 56:05Speaker 1: have sex and act like a loving couple and outside
- 56:08Speaker 1: of our house for the sake of our kids. But
- 56:11Speaker 1: he does sleep in a separate room and said it's
- 56:14Speaker 1: because he snores. I will take the snoring and the
- 56:18Speaker 1: talking in the sleep just to feel his body next
- 56:20Speaker 1: to mine in the bed. I have no idea what's
- 56:23Speaker 1: going on in his head. It would have been easier
- 56:26Speaker 1: if he had yelled, scream or cursed at me four
- 56:28Speaker 1: years ago, curse me out four years ago. I wonder
- 56:31Speaker 1: if he still loves me or not, or if he's
- 56:35Speaker 1: got a woman on the side. Is he with his
- 56:38Speaker 1: ex that ruined our wedding? Why does he keep me around? All? Right?
- 56:44Speaker 1: This is crazy? This is crazy right here. Surely though,
- 56:48Speaker 1: you are not comparing what your husband's ex did, I mean,
- 56:52Speaker 1: coming to your wedding and crying during your vows. You're
- 56:56Speaker 1: not comparing that to your husband finding out you were
- 56:59Speaker 1: having an affair when your lover got pinned in the
- 57:01Speaker 1: car after that accident. Okay, these are two completely different
- 57:05Speaker 1: scenarios here, And I know you know that you were cheating.
- 57:08Speaker 1: You were cheating, okay, versus a woman who cried at
- 57:12Speaker 1: your wedding. I mean, it's just not the same. It's
- 57:16Speaker 1: not the same. Why is he still with you? You asked.
- 57:19Speaker 1: That's a really good question, because men are definitely more
- 57:22Speaker 1: likely to leave and not take their wives back after cheating. Okay,
- 57:26Speaker 1: that's a proven fact, while the opposite is true for women.
- 57:30Speaker 1: Women generally, you know, after some counseling and some beggings,
- 57:34Speaker 1: some cleaning, a lot of times they'll take their husband
- 57:37Speaker 1: back after cheating. But like you said, maybe he is
- 57:41Speaker 1: staying for the kids. Maybe it is because you're comfortable
- 57:44Speaker 1: and convenient, Maybe you're familiar to him and he just
- 57:47Speaker 1: doesn't want to leave, or maybe he's having his cake
- 57:50Speaker 1: and eating it too with you. I mean, he can
- 57:53Speaker 1: still have sex with you, and he can stay out
- 57:55Speaker 1: all night and not call you and not come home,
- 57:58Speaker 1: and he knows you won't say a word because of
- 58:00Speaker 1: the guilt you feel for cheating on him. So it's
- 58:04Speaker 1: kind of like he's got you because of this guilt
- 58:07Speaker 1: situation that you put on yourself because of that, And
- 58:10Speaker 1: that's why I think he keeps you around. But the
- 58:13Speaker 1: question is why do you stay? Why do you stay
- 58:16Speaker 1: and take this? I mean, you guys got to work
- 58:18Speaker 1: the situation out if it's to be worked out. Steve,
- 58:23Speaker 1: why does my husband keep me around? After reading this letter?
- 58:27Speaker 1: I don't really know, but I have a real strong
- 58:29Speaker 1: opinion about it, and I'll share it with you. Y'all
- 58:32Speaker 1: been married fourteen years and hanging on by a thread.
- 58:37Speaker 1: It's not even a thread, lady. This letter is just
- 58:41Speaker 1: two people just in something. It's not being held together
- 58:44Speaker 1: by anything. We have two children, and sometimes I wonder
- 58:48Speaker 1: if that's why he stays with me. Well, that's the
- 58:53Speaker 1: only thing I can come up with, but I have
- 58:55Speaker 1: an even better reason later on. Though we never talked
- 58:59Speaker 1: about our problem them things happened in our manage that
- 59:01Speaker 1: we're making a normal couple split up. We're not normal.
- 59:06Speaker 1: At the wedding, one of his actually showed up cried out, Ah, Jerron,
- 59:18Speaker 1: that's his name, Jerome? Why not me? I should have
- 59:23Speaker 1: been me. I didn't have on my god, I got
- 59:26Speaker 1: I got a dressed. You I got a bought a
- 59:28Speaker 1: dressed like doing the most I got. Some friends wouldn't
- 59:32Speaker 1: look good. And bros, baby, I know your best man crying.
- 59:41Speaker 1: I ain't even wait on the part where the man says,
- 59:43Speaker 1: is there anyone here who would find just na see?
- 59:54Speaker 1: First of all, he ain't no real he ain't no
- 59:56Speaker 1: real boy hood boy. Because out of had my boys on, look,
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: got any exit come to the dope. They don't even
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: got me. Oh my, one of my homes would have said, hey,
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: doore you go out there here, and you would have
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: known exactly what they meant. Oh hey are you get out?
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: Get out? Yeah? Well hang on, Steve, okay, hang on.
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: We'll get to part two of your response coming up
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: at twenty three minutes after the hour Today's Strawberry Letters,
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: subject why does he keep me around? We'll get back
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: into it, try to find out why right after this
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: you're listening to show. All right, come on, Steve, let's
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: recap today's Strawberry letter, the subject why does he keep
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: me around? Yeah, y'all got problems? Two kids at you wedding?
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: Oh started here. One of his ex was at crime Holland.
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: Like I said, I had, I got some cute friends.
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: Would have been brides. Man, I know you'll best man.
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: I met your mamma, your mamma, and back you see
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: me miss Anto. Oh yeah, she's back to tacking the food.
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: She was escorted out. He apologized to me at the
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: altars supposed me to happen to day in your life.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: But you lord, you say that that should have been
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: the first red flame. But then y'all didn't talk about it.
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: So you kept on so over the years, uh damn
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: d before it didn't don't just go right there, roll
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: under your desk, right. I don't think that's ever happened
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: before on the air, Steve. So that was the first
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: red flag. Then over the years he kept me get
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: sing about her. Don't well, y'all, don't talk. So I
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: guess you ain't got nothing to do. But gast you
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: didn't bring up no more. He just left you guessing.
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: Y'all don't talk and uh But around about the tenth
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: year of the marriage, I had an accident one night
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: and the e MPs called my husband. I was in
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: the car with my boyfriend and he was peeling in
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: the car. You wrote that census like it belonged. Now, yeah,
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: you just put that in the ldder like what nothing
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: doing out tienth year. I was in the cars and
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: then with my boyfriend and they're gonna call my husband
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: because he was peeling. Then, well I don't know how
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: so so so call my husband for what? You should
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: have walked off? Yeah, I can't be in that car.
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: You wasn't peeing, inn he was peeling. Then you couldn't
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: get him out walk off. You crossed the street at
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: the corner stone, looking at the whole thing. Well, how
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: would she explain that to her man? What? It's her car? Right? No,
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: it wasn't her car. I think it was her car,
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: wasn't and he's him? Yeah, she just said penned in
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: the car. Yeah, Oh, what I have just said? My
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: car was stolen. I walked off. Somebody stole the car.
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: I don't know how he got in the passenger seat,
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: but he got penned in. That's probably how the car
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: f lift though, and that's why they called her husband. Yeah, okay,
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: so that's the night my husband found out I was
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: having an affair. That's not true. My husband never asked
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: me one question about my family, because that's not the
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: night he found out. He already knew. That's why he
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: didn't say nothing. But then he asked him. But he
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: was joking about being me being in the wrong place
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: of wrong time after my accident. That was night that
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: my husband didn't come home and didn't call me. He
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: got a free pass. You know what your husband saying, Oh,
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: this is what we're doing. Yeah cool, Oh cool. I
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: ain't got to play this off no more. I felt
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: like I couldn't say a word because I was full
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: of so much guilt for being caught cheap. Yeah. Now
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: we still have sex and act like a loving couple
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: inn and outside of our house for the sake of
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: the kid. But he does sleep in a separate room.
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: And he said, because he's snow he said, and he tied.
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: It ain't Yoe Knight. It ain't Yoe knight. I got
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: the rest. I would take the snowing and talking in
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: his sleep, just to feel his body next to mine
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: in the bed. What you just want something? I have
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: no idea what's going on in his head? Oh? I
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: can tell you exactly what's going on in his head.
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: It would have been easy if he had just yelled,
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: scream and customed me out four years ago. I wonder
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: if he still loves me, or night he ain't in
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: love with you, you're sleeping with another dude. He ain't
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: in love with you. You ain't saying you stopped having
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: another fan. You didn't say that. No, he don't love you.
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: Or if he's got a woman on the side, Yes, yeah,
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: he don't come over, He don't call you, He ain't
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: playing cards, Yes he got another woman on the side.
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: Is he with this ex that ruled? Now? Why is
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: that a question? Why is that even important? What difference
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: do it make? Who he with? He would more than
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: one person. I tell you that right now. He lived
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: his best life. Why does he keep me around? Are
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: you kidding me? Why would he leave? Why not? Yeah,
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: here's a man that's getting all the sex he won't
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: you still have sex with him and he can come
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: in when he wants to stay out when he wants
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: to have sex with somebody else. You don't say nothing
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: about that, and you don't say nothing when y'all have sex.
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: It's a perfect scenario. Oh my god, who wouldn't take that?
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: Oh my god, if it isn't a little miss attatude,
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: come on today night. That's my favorite thing. I saw
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: tick talk. I don't know who the dude voice is,
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: but they put it on a little cute girls, little
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: babies when they do it. Oh my god, if it
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: isn't me, little miss Antaitude. His name Martin Laurence. I
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: don't know where they got that from, really, but I
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: didn't know where it was anyway. Lady, Wait, you're not
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: looking forward? Answer to get out? So whatever whatever? Both
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: y'all in trouble. Y'all ain't got no man. Yeah, the
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: marriage is doomed. You're right. Poster your comments on Today's

- 1:20:37Speaker 1: That God is blessing you because you're delivering something for
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: God to tell folks like myself, so I could imagine
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: the millions of folks that's listening, but I just had
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: to testify on it. Thank you, Steve R. D. Not
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: to tell you a black man what. Thank God at
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: that too. But I mean, I'm not prejudiced or nothing
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: like that. But thank God that we got a person,
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: a brother that's doing what you're doing and waking up
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: other souls. I don't know you. I knew you're waking
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: up other racest too, but thank God for what you're doing.
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: You are a blessing Steve Harvey. It's no one you you.
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: You're a blessing brother. Please keep doing God's worth and
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: God bless you on all the stuff that do. Your family, few,
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: the judge, thang and your radio station. Let God touch
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: keep touching that Father, Thank you, Thank you for Steve Harvey. God,
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: Thank you in the name of Jesus. Thank you for
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: him waking up dead souls. Thank you God, keep touching him,
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: his wife, his family, his staff, Keep touching them God
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: and Jesus's great name. Thank you Steve Harvey, and keep
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: on the journey with God. God bless you, my brother.
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: Let God be with you, Steve, thank you. And you
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: know I wasn't gonna do a closing remark. I was
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: gonna do a question, but I got to do one.
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: Now you got to keep on, you know what he
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: was saying, though, I have to again, I have to
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: give God all the credit, to honor, the glory, the praise,
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: because you know, man, I really, I really wouldn't be
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: nothing without God. And I really, I really imployed people
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: to form a relationship with God. I mean, look, man,
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: it's real easy, it really is, you know, y'all. Look
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: for those of you that's way out there like I was.
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: I was way out there, but I knew the way back.
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: I knew. I was raised by my mama in the church,
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: so I knew about it. I just went when I
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: went off to college, man, that who I threw my
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: life in a spot. Oh boy. I started participating and
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: I participated strongly, strongly till I was about really man,
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: I didn't pull it together till I was about forty eight.
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: I just got tired of myself. And I said this before,
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: maybe sometimes you ever get sick and tired of yourself,
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: you ever get sick and tired of the way your
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: life is gone. But you really have nobody else to
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: blame because you're the only one that's making them decisions.
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: That's bringing about half two circumstances in your life. I mean,
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: life already got a series of events and circumstances that's
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: gonna happen that you have no control over. But when
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: you're making decisions to be in a relationship that ain't
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: healthy for you, to go in the direction that ain't
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: healthy for you, to keep associating with people, that ain't
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: healthy for you to keep doing the same thing over
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: and over expecting a different result. If you don't do
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: something different, you will remain the same. And then you're
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: mad at God. I don't see why he see me
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: down here. Ha ha ha ha. God has gone through
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: extra measures to make sure that we are the one
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: creation that has the power of choice. Other animals don't
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: have that power. They can't decide when they have sex,
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: they mate doing a certain season, animals are born doing
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: a certain period of time. All the will to beast
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: calves on the plains of Africa, born together. All that
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: it just happens. Man. All the birds flock to certain
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: regions to nest and have babies at the same time.
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: All that deers have babies at the same time of
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: the year, but people can do it all year round.
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: So He's gone through extra measures to make sure we
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: have the power of choice. So y'all start record nizing
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: that you have a choice in this. You can have
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: a relationship with God. It's easy. All you have to
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: do is go somewhere by yourself and sit down and
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: just say it. Hey, Lord, man, I'm tripping. I don't
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: even know the way. I don't see the light. I
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: ain't got the light. I ain't got no, I ain't
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: got the button. I don't know where to switch at.
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: I need some help. Can you just help me? What
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: do I do? Tell me, show me where to go?
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: What do I need to read? Who? What church? What's
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: somebody man that could get me on track? Do it
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: for your instant think about God is here right now? God.
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: It don't take God a loan to do nothing. But
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: now understand something. It's just a process. You got to
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: get in the process. You understand and the process means
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: it starts. But you got to be willing to go
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: through the process. Stop giving up so quickly. He heard you.
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: It's not gonna happen when you want it to happen.
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: I'm telling you right now, hardly anything I've ever asked
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: God for it happened exactly when I asked for it
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: to happen. But I'll tell you what it all happened,
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: and it happened way bigger and better than what I
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: asked for. So if I was, you out form relationship
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: with it. It's vital, it's necessary. It's really really cool too, man,
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: I thank you. That's my clothes with mars Hey, y'all
