Blaine Harpenau is back in Iowa City, rejoining the Hawkeyes baseball program as part of Head Coach Rick Heller’s staff — a homecoming for the native of Remsen, Iowa, who starred as a two-time Class 1A All-State captain at Remsen St. Mary’s. After playing college ball at Kirkwood, Arkansas State, and Southern Illinois, Harpenau spent last season as a graduate assistant at Concordia, helping them reach the NAIA Tournament. Now, with deep roots in the program and a wealth of experience, he’s poised to make a major impact on the Hawkeyes’ future — a perfect example of former players giving back…
