- 0:16and where various people are on that path in the direction of
- 0:24this land call mindfulness. And today's guest, JJ, Director
- 0:35Monaco is going to share with us her path. And wow, it was just
- 0:50she has the ability, JJ has the ability to have have one foot in
- 0:58that mindfulness experience. And then is able to articulate her
- 1:04thoughts, to support other people, and being able to have a
- 1:10greater realization of have of that space of consciousness that
- 1:16we're calling mindfulness. It was just captivating. tears to
- 1:23my eyes. Just how wonderful it is to be able to have JJ de
- 1:31Toronto as a guest on the mindful U podcast. So please
- 1:36welcome with open hearts. JJ. JJ D Geronimo. Welcome to the
- 1:45mindful U podcast.
- 1:48JJ DiGeronimo: Hello, and I'm thrilled to be here. Well, thank
- 1:51Alan Carroll: you very much. I'm thrilled to have you here.
- 1:53Especially I love the fact that I was reading JJ, your your bio
- 1:58was lots of mindfulness words appeared, mindfulness, this and
- 2:03this. And so you definitely have been swimming in the ocean of
- 2:07mindfulness. So let me just backtrack a little bit and find
- 2:12out well, when did you first dip into the ocean? What what, what
- 2:16what happened? What age what did any event occur that really
- 2:19said, Oh, what's what's going on here? But take me back in and JJ
- 2:25time? Well,
- 2:26Unknown: I would say it mostly all happened around 2016. It was
- 2:30sort of a tower moment. For me, I had a lot of things that were
- 2:34just crumbling around me. And I ended up in the therapists
- 2:37office saying, you know, I don't have the joy I expected. I'm
- 2:40overworked. I have all these wonderful awards and accolades,
- 2:45but I'm not really connecting with them. I don't really
- 2:48experience the joy I was expecting. And I had a session
- 2:54with her. And she told me at the end that I needed to go to
- 2:57mindfulness training. And I thought it was ridiculous. Just
- 3:01like, this is serious. Like, I'm at a point now in my life, where
- 3:04I'm questioning everything and mindfulness training. What is
- 3:08that? And why would I do that? That sounds so puffy in out
- 3:14there. And I really need real answers. Absolutely.
- 3:19Alan Carroll: practical things.
- 3:21Unknown: Yes. And I was such a plus personality, I worked so
- 3:25much in my masculine energy. I was such a deliverer, I worked
- 3:29in high tech, most of my career in Silicon Valley, and I needed
- 3:33action like real action steps. And to me that sounded like
- 3:36something you do when you have nothing else to do. That's
- 3:40Alan Carroll: funny. True, though, to be honest, is
- 3:43abstract. You know, and doing push ups is real. So what do I
- 3:47want to do push up, I don't want to abstract stuff. This is
- 3:50serious. We're talking about here now. It's my life.
- 3:54Unknown: That's exactly right. So when I stopped visited her
- 3:56for the third time, she basically said do not come back,
- 4:00unless you go to mindfulness class. So Sunday at noon, I'm
- 4:04trucking in with my coffee and my notebook to this mindfulness
- 4:08thing. I'm at a table with people like eight to 10 people,
- 4:11it was based on Jon Kabat Zinn's training, and I kept opening my
- 4:16notebook and taking notes. And at the break, the teacher came
- 4:20over to me and said, what what is the notebook for? And I'm
- 4:25like, kind of looked at her like, court might well, in case
- 4:28I have a good thought she's like, next time you come, can
- 4:32you leave your notebook in the car? And my answer was, hell no.
- 4:40I have good thoughts when I'm quiet. So I need my notebook.
- 4:44Alan Carroll: That's right. You're right. Absolutely. So how
- 4:48did the battle go between the notebook and the teacher?
- 4:52Unknown: So I brought the notebook back in.
- 4:54Alan Carroll: There you go. That's right. Yes. Good. Good
- 4:56for you. You stand up. I like that.
- 4:59Unknown: Yeah. And at the break, she asked me to put the notebook
- 5:03like closer to the door. And I just was like, This is so
- 5:07annoying like I'm doing this class. But as you know, I wasn't
- 5:10doing the class because I was in my head. So I wasn't doing the
- 5:13class. And by the third class, I left my notebook in the car.
- 5:17Wow.
- 5:18Alan Carroll: All right. What was that must have been a
- 5:20breakthrough moment.
- 5:22Unknown: Oh, no, it was painful. It was painful. Because I was
- 5:25getting all these thoughts. And I'm like, should I put it in my
- 5:27phone, she doesn't want me to touch my phone. I would say out
- 5:31of the eight week class, it took me well into the fourth class
- 5:34that I could actually even participate in the activities. I
- 5:38was so tightly wound. I was such a producer. I pride myself on
- 5:44being producer that it was it was tough to even be in the
- 5:49class.
- 5:51Alan Carroll: What a wonderful experience.
- 5:55Unknown: It was the greatest thing that ever happened to me
- 5:56honestly, because there were people in my class that had come
- 6:00back for the second time or the third time she had an open door
- 6:04policy once you went through the class one time you could come
- 6:06back again get refreshers. So I think I was absolutely the
- 6:10knowingly. Natalie am my annoying everyone in the class,
- 6:15I was a complete distraction. And I feel so sorry for those
- 6:18people now because I could have benefited so much from being
- 6:25willing and open to being part of the classroom, the beginning,
- 6:29but there was no disguising my need for the class. It just took
- 6:36me a long time to figure out why it was there.
- 6:41Alan Carroll: was absolutely no like, the ego is taking a stand
- 6:46and, and I'm not going to surrender my position. I'm not
- 6:49going to surrender my thoughts, my ideas, my beliefs about what
- 6:53is real and what is not real. What do you mean letting go? So
- 6:56it sounds like from the first class to the fourth class, JJ
- 7:00was letting go letting go letting go letting go letting
- 7:03go. And you were always holding on creating, holding on
- 7:06creating, holding on creating, producing, producing, producing,
- 7:09I don't let go i buy build, I don't let go. I don't create
- 7:12emptiness. I create fullness, baby. And so what was it like to
- 7:16create emptiness?
- 7:20Unknown: Well, it took some time. I won't deny it. But I
- 7:22will say that the thing that mindfulness training has
- 7:25provided me is the ability to have space between my thoughts.
- 7:35Alan Carroll: You bet you Bob like this disco, say that again?
- 7:38Tell the universe twice. It should shoot that one out there
- 7:42twice. JJ. Yes. My big thing that you realized
- 7:46Unknown: is that my thoughts are not me. My thoughts are only a
- 7:49part of me.
- 7:52Alan Carroll: Right? It's, it's, it's like, you got to sell it.
- 7:57And then you got the little things on top of the salad. And
- 8:02thoughts are, what I got about are the one that Eckhart Tolle
- 8:06talks about. He says the thoughts are the ripples on the
- 8:09ocean. Just little tiny ripples that fade away. But you have the
- 8:14ocean. And mindfulness is the realization that underneath
- 8:18those ripples of thought, there's an ocean and boy that
- 8:23have that realization. JJ is exactly what I see is exactly
- 8:29what that's the deposits about the pauses about? Well, I can't
- 8:34manage the thoughts that I think that's real, real woowoo stuff.
- 8:39But I can manage the thoughts that I speak. How can I do that?
- 8:46Unknown: Hold on to Yeah, the thoughts you hold on to the
- 8:49thoughts you pay attention to the thoughts you leverage. It
- 8:53was such a profound shift that happened over a period of time.
- 8:59It wasn't like even once I moved through the class, it still took
- 9:03me a while to just I think it took me all eight classes to
- 9:07just really realize what mindfulness was just that space,
- 9:13that ability to just let thoughts pass through without
- 9:17grabbing onto any one of them. Like what a profound learning
- 9:24especially for a soul that has been in the thoughts as the life
- 9:30for decades.
- 9:33Alan Carroll: And so is 99% of the population on the planet
- 9:36Earth. So it's, we're not alone. It we are we are all immersed in
- 9:45a sea of thoughts. And and, and so how do you escape from those
- 9:52see your thoughts? So next question. How did you escape
- 9:56from your sea of thoughts inside your head, JJ
- 10:00Unknown: Well, I'll just be honest, there's no escaping per
- 10:03se, the thoughts are always there. They're always there.
- 10:06It's like, and I think this was a huge lesson for me is, you
- 10:11know, I had tried to mindful, I've tried to meditate a decade
- 10:15before this. I tried all the apps, but the reality is like
- 10:18until you learn mindfulness, at least in my account, you can't
- 10:23really meditate and you can't just jump into meditation
- 10:26without understanding mindfulness. I think mindfulness
- 10:29is precursor to meditation for me. And so I always have
- 10:34thoughts. Thoughts are there all day all night, but the idea of
- 10:37mindfulness gives me the ability to sit back and just watch.
- 10:43Alan Carroll: Yep, there's a ticker tape and in Times Square,
- 10:48when you watch the ticker tape go across the buildings, dah,
- 10:51dah, dah, dah, dah, doo doo doo. It's like the thoughts inside
- 10:53your head all day long ticker tape ticker tape, ticker tape,
- 10:56ticker tape, sequential No, no, no breaks at all between the you
- 11:00don't know when a thought starts and another thought, and it's
- 11:02continued ticker tape. And tal and Deepak Chopra are saying 65
- 11:07to 80,000 thoughts a day, pass through the old ticker tape. And
- 11:11then you ask yourself, well, how many of those you remember? You
- 11:14don't remember any of them? They fade away. And that's that's the
- 11:17dream of thought. But but but mindfulness is different. How is
- 11:20mindfulness different, JJ than that stream of thoughts?
- 11:26Unknown: I mean, for me, mindfulness is the tool. It's
- 11:30the tool that I leveraged to not hang on like a monkey to those
- 11:36stories, it gives me the ability to create space and separation,
- 11:42it allows me to decide if I even want to listen to those
- 11:45thoughts, which is something that I've had to teach myself,
- 11:48like, I have to hold my hand up and say things out loud, like
- 11:51thank you so much. Appreciate it, you know, that ego
- 11:55conversation, you're constantly having of why it's not going to
- 11:58work, why you're not the person call, you're not prepared. I
- 12:02mean, it's just an just a parade of thoughts that often are not
- 12:06supportive to what you want to lean into. And so I feel like
- 12:10for me, it's given me the opportunity to not only
- 12:14recognize that my thoughts are not all of me, but also the
- 12:17space to decide which thoughts I want to explore and which ones I
- 12:21want to let go of.
- 12:24Alan Carroll: So to recognize that you're thinking, so you're
- 12:31saying, I recognize that right now? I'm thinking I am
- 12:35recognizing that there are thoughts in front of me right
- 12:38now. I'd read their thoughts. I don't know what they are. But
- 12:40their thoughts right there. So I got that recognition. That was
- 12:43the first thing you said, then in order to recognize something,
- 12:49then there has to be what? There has to be that space between the
- 12:54observer and what's being recognized. And so you said, you
- 12:57said, you need to recognize that there's a space between you and
- 13:00the thoughts that you're thinking. And that is, that's
- 13:04the definition of mindfulness, to be able to recognize that
- 13:07there's a space between you and the thoughts? And what's the
- 13:11value for us the next question, JJ, so So what's the value of
- 13:15creating a space? What was so what created space? So what I
- 13:21was saying is, I don't want to empty things, I want things in
- 13:24my life that will make me feel better. It's absolutely magical
- 13:29space.
- 13:30Unknown: Yeah, the map space is the magic, the space is the
- 13:33magic. Because when you have space, you have freedom.
- 13:40Alan Carroll: Really, I like freedom, no doubt about freedom.
- 13:44But how does? What is space by the way? And why does it give me
- 13:48freedom? Where is this space you're talking about?
- 13:52Unknown: It is, it is it is the magic of life, because it gives
- 13:56you space between your thoughts, you are not your thoughts. You
- 14:00don't have to do anything based on your thoughts. And it gives
- 14:04you emotional freedom to not attach any emotion to any
- 14:08thoughts. And so you can just be in the moment without any
- 14:13emotion as an observer of what is happening not only inside you
- 14:18but outside of you.
- 14:21Alan Carroll: Are you saying that I could be watching this
- 14:24movie of life, like I'm in a movie theater, and I'm watching
- 14:27this movie in front of me my popcorn, I can watch the display
- 14:32of actions and characters that are going by and events and
- 14:36action things and all the things that happen like the media and
- 14:39you know, watch the media, and I can keep my body and energy and
- 14:44emotions to sort of stable, why I'm watching these, these what
- 14:50people read regardless, for rendus chaotic things, and I
- 14:54keep my body relaxed. You're saying that's what happens for
- 14:58me It sounds like pretty good stuff.
- 15:04Unknown: Oh, it's so amazing because you really start to
- 15:07recognize that what happens inside of you is actually
- 15:11happening outside of you. And so if you can keep a calmer state,
- 15:14if you can not be a roller coaster with your emotions, your
- 15:19outside starts to reflect your insight. And I really pair that
- 15:25with working on my energy or my frequency. So how I show up in
- 15:30life? What are the things that I'm focused on? What are the
- 15:33things I'm paying attention to? What are the things I'm reading
- 15:36and listening to, because I have learned that if you can raise
- 15:39your energy, along with being mindful, you can attract like
- 15:44energy.
- 15:47Alan Carroll: raise my hand, it's I'm practicing mindfulness.
- 15:50And there's something else I could do, in addition to that
- 15:54stillness and mindfulness thing, in order to raise my vibration
- 15:57level, to raise my vibration levels, so that I moved from a,
- 16:03a dull kind of dead vibration to a more invigorating, joyful life
- 16:09and joyful, blissful loving vibration. So it's like a scale.
- 16:14So what are a couple of these little tricks you got to raise
- 16:17my energy?
- 16:19Unknown: Well, for me, mindfulness was the cornerstone
- 16:21of just even recognizing that I have these thoughts that are not
- 16:25very positive, most of the time I beat the stink out of myself.
- 16:29But I would say there's really comes down to three things for
- 16:32me to raise my energy is one,
- 16:34Alan Carroll: but go slow. Now people are writing things down.
- 16:36Now. They're, they're putting a one on their piece of paper. And
- 16:40they're putting it two and a three. Okay, number one.
- 16:44Unknown: So number one is to mind my thoughts. Right? So
- 16:47number one, now that I have mindfulness in my life, I can
- 16:50pay attention to my thoughts. Are they mostly positive? Or are
- 16:53they mostly negative, and I can just pay attention, I'm just
- 16:56aware of them to mind, how I talk about other people or other
- 17:05things. Now, these are not necessarily things that come out
- 17:07of your mouth, but they're things that you're chewing on.
- 17:11They're things that you're saying, you know, if somebody
- 17:13comes into your house or into the workplace, like, are you
- 17:16having a thought about them? And is it positive or negative? And
- 17:20so the first kind
- 17:21Alan Carroll: of, it could be internal thoughts inside your
- 17:23head, like a little voice that talks to you? Yes.
- 17:26Unknown: And I realized that as a participant in the world
- 17:30watching TV for a long time, I had a lot of judgment, whether I
- 17:34said it out loud or not, I was judging, judging, judging all
- 17:37the time, that was part of my awareness, once I became
- 17:41mindful, is that my mind that only beats me up all the time,
- 17:44but it's very judgy. And so I chose to say, You know what, I'm
- 17:49not going to live my life being judgey or beating myself up, I'm
- 17:53going to live my life in the positive energy. And I have to
- 17:57make mindful decisions to focus on the positive. And so I had to
- 18:03really create charts for myself. As I was shifting my energy,
- 18:07which was the result of becoming mindful, I was now able to be
- 18:11aware of am I more positive? Or am I more negative? Do I live in
- 18:15love and light? Or do I live in worry and anxiety? And so the
- 18:19mindfulness for me was that cornerstone that allowed me to
- 18:21start that shift?
- 18:24Alan Carroll: Well, you're you're good. I tell you, it's
- 18:27very, very clear, very, very clear to be able to articulate
- 18:32the abstractions that you're articulating, and a way that is
- 18:35clear. That's a gift. So do you definitely have a have a gift
- 18:40and expressing the beauty of the light? And now I also want to
- 18:45make sure I know number three on that list. Yeah,
- 18:49Unknown: so that is, you know, one and two is like really
- 18:52getting the amount of listening to yourself and shifting and how
- 18:57I shifted, and I just want to give you the solution to one or
- 19:00two, and then I'll go on to three, but one and two, I had to
- 19:03really create a practice of gratitude. And this is something
- 19:08that, you know, you've read a lot about I have, but it's hard
- 19:11to just be grateful if you're not mindful. Because if you're
- 19:14just grateful, like, Oh, I love this, this is great. But it's
- 19:17not really shifting from within, meaning that you really believe
- 19:21that you have the gratitude. So I'm grateful for my bed. I'm
- 19:25grateful for socks, I'm grateful for gas in my tank, or I'm
- 19:29grateful that I have the ability to have a conversation with this
- 19:31person. Like the mindfulness gets you to be able to shift
- 19:35where you focus your energy within and to do to shift that
- 19:40energy. Gratitude was the bridge that got me from fear,
- 19:45negativity, anxiety, to love light appreciation.
- 19:53Alan Carroll: I'm taking my notes just like you did in your
- 19:56mindfulness class.
- 19:59Unknown: So That's really the that's been so instrumental for
- 20:03me that has changed my life in so many ways, because it has
- 20:07given me more positivity on the inside. And then I've had to
- 20:13pair that with what I do on the outside. So what do I watch?
- 20:16What do I read? What do I eat? And that third grouping is what
- 20:20I do on the outside of me, like, what am I doing outside of me.
- 20:25And now, you know, I'm really, really mindful of what I'm
- 20:28watching what I'm reading what I'm eating, even the
- 20:31conversations I'm in with my friends, like, we're all going
- 20:34to have bad days, but I'm not spending 45 minutes talking
- 20:37about it, I've sort of conditioned myself that I can
- 20:40express things that are not going well, and three to four
- 20:43minutes, and then I'm going to move on. Because think we can't
- 20:46work humans, we still have things that happen that we need
- 20:48to express. But I really moved through my day with full
- 20:53appreciation for what I get to experience. And now that I'm
- 20:58mindful, I can live in the present moment, which was never
- 21:02the case before that practice.
- 21:08Alan Carroll: Yep. The idea of the mind, my thoughts, and when
- 21:18I wrote it down, I was realizing that you probably were spelling
- 21:22it mi n d. And I said, that's probably what JJ means. But also
- 21:27I spelled it mi en mi any mind, meaning that you're looking for
- 21:31the gold, because one of the things about thoughts that I
- 21:35noticed is that there are thoughts that build light and
- 21:38love. And there's thoughts that build hatred and separation. So
- 21:42if you can mind your thoughts for the gold, you don't have to
- 21:46spend time with the coal, you can just go for the gold, and
- 21:51you have the power to do that. But you have to be awake, you
- 21:55have to be you have to be in the driver's seat of your thoughts
- 21:57in order to direct the thoughts. And my observation is the ego is
- 22:02not awake. The ego is in a state of a dream state of
- 22:06consciousness. And and so how do you wake up from the dream? But
- 22:12you don't even know you're dreaming? So just for how do you
- 22:17wake up from the dream? But you don't know you're dreaming?
- 22:24Unknown: Well, in my life, I've had really significant guides,
- 22:27people that kind of come into my life at times that kind of
- 22:30pushed me right when I should be going left or I think I want to
- 22:33go left. And that therapist for me was a guide. So I did not
- 22:37know I was in the dream state I did not know I was living in the
- 22:39ego energy. Until Jill, the therapist said you must go to
- 22:44this if you ever want to come back. And so I think for most of
- 22:48us, we have something that happens in our life, that gives
- 22:52us the opportunity to walk through that door. Now I could
- 22:56have left after three classes with my notebook in hand yet but
- 23:00something made me stay. And I think for many of us, we get
- 23:04guides and whispers in times when we are expecting it or not
- 23:10expecting it, they come to us and we get to choose whether or
- 23:15not we want to lean into those.
- 23:21Alan Carroll: I remember a alchemy class at Santa Cruz
- 23:29University in California, taught by a union psychotherapist, and
- 23:37he showed a picture of the alchemical vessel. It looks like
- 23:42a tube and then it's a big fat bottom, like a beaker. And it
- 23:48showed you a bird inside the beaker. And there was water in
- 23:54the beaker was fire underneath the beaker was heating up. And
- 23:57the bird was like a pelican. And the beak was piercing the belly
- 24:03of itself and blood was dripping out of that alchemical vessel
- 24:09the transformation. And the interpretation was that that
- 24:13journey starts with a self inflicted wound. I can tell you
- 24:16JJ you need it. But you know, until you feel the pain, the
- 24:23suffering and acknowledge it you really don't wake up and say I
- 24:30got to do something. And you have shared with us today just
- 24:36wonderful experiences of of of waking up. And what I liked
- 24:43about what you're saying is that you have a very clear way of
- 24:46saying it. Very practical. And my experience of it it resonates
- 24:53to me it's I like the vibration of it the vibration the energy
- 24:59level the The glow of light that that you have, and the way you
- 25:04radiate the light out through your verbal speech through your
- 25:07radiance out into the world. And I know that you get and you use
- 25:13a term called lightworkers. So I'd like this to shift a little
- 25:17bit. And I know you have a meeting to go to, and I'm not
- 25:21sure the time it's how much time do we have left? I'm losing my
- 25:24time. Two minutes. Plenty? Plenty me. Okay, good. Good.
- 25:28Thank you very much. Okay, I got to get I get, I get lost in the,
- 25:31in the joy of meeting you that I sort of lose time. And thank
- 25:35god, there's someone with a watch. All right. And so the
- 25:41it's just really a light worker, you what is a light worker? And
- 25:47we'll we'll take it from there.
- 25:50Unknown: Well, as I mentioned before, when you have you have
- 25:54the ability to do this, anybody listening has the ability to do
- 25:57this, some of you might not need to get knocked upside the head
- 26:00like I did, hopefully, you taken on the Whisper well, before it
- 26:04happens. But if you do choose to go down the mindfulness path,
- 26:08and you have the ability to create that space, and then you
- 26:12take it to the next level, where then you get to choose how
- 26:16you're going to move through life, are you going to stay in
- 26:18the fear, anxiety, worry, or are you going to shift the light
- 26:21love. If you choose to shift the light and love that starts from
- 26:25within, you can start to not only illuminate your being
- 26:29because it allows you to really start to not only move into the
- 26:33gratitude space, but work through the stories that harness
- 26:37so much negativity. And these could start back, you know, as
- 26:40your 2468, I worked with so many Lightworkers energy
- 26:43practitioners and healers to dig through my vessel, because I
- 26:47wanted to create a vessel that we call the human body, I wanted
- 26:52to illuminate it, I wanted to get out all the dark energy that
- 26:55was maybe buried in a corner or buried from a story from
- 27:00something that happened as a child, I wanted to work through
- 27:03as much of those stories and darkness as I could. So I could
- 27:06be as light as possible for the work that I do with women. And
- 27:11through that work, I was able not only to illuminate myself,
- 27:14but my path of what I should be working on. And now I'm able to
- 27:18help others do the same. And I think for many of us, we all
- 27:21have the ability to illuminate our path forward. But
- 27:24oftentimes, we have to shift out of that negative energy into the
- 27:28light. And it takes very specific steps that any of us
- 27:32can do, which is a lot of what I've included in my third book
- 27:35seeking because I find that their ways they're actually
- 27:40perfectly orchestrated for us, as our soul is working through
- 27:44the evolution of being a human and the lessons we're here to
- 27:47learn.
- 27:49Alan Carroll: Let's take a little chapters in that seeking
- 27:53the seeking book. And I imagine it correlates with our
- 27:58conversation today. So share with us some of the key points
- 28:03that so is the book absolute let me see the book. All right,
- 28:07seeking very nice. Yeah.
- 28:09Unknown: So seeking is 74 key findings to raise your energy
- 28:13sidestep your self doubt and align with your life's work and
- 28:17the 70 Court key for the 74 key findings are spread out through
- 28:21the book. And what I like to do is just open it up and get to
- 28:24one key finding. So the key finding is number 28. A solo
- 28:30trip, a solo trip can provide the dedicated time for you to
- 28:37explore it inside and out. So solo trip for me was a big deal.
- 28:45Because when I started doing all this work, I realized that I
- 28:49could no longer show up in the world. Like I had in the past
- 28:53that I was being pulled outside of my day job to do other work.
- 28:57And I was so uncertain about myself and the whispers I was
- 29:03receiving like you need to write another book and do more work
- 29:06with women, that I was in denial. And so I took a solo
- 29:10trip to Sedona because I felt like it was a place I could meet
- 29:14with many people to help me understand the messages I was
- 29:18receiving.
- 29:21Alan Carroll: Well, let's go to Sedona. What was your experience
- 29:24as a donor like?
- 29:26Unknown: Oh, it was wonderful because it was really the first
- 29:29time as a mother and as a wife that I traveled by myself for
- 29:35pleasure, like I never did that once. I didn't get married till
- 29:39I was 30. And I traveled all the time by myself. But then once I
- 29:42had kids and a husband, I just felt guilty all the time. So I
- 29:46never did it. And for me this yearning to understand who I was
- 29:52and why I'm on the planet brought me to Sedona and I met
- 29:56with some amazing energy practitioners. But I it's
- 30:00Typically worked with an angel reader for five hours. And she
- 30:04told me that my work was going to have a lot to do with
- 30:06bringing people closer to God, which at the time I denied
- 30:11because I was working in corporate America, and I
- 30:13couldn't even think the word guide, let alone, talk about it
- 30:16or say something. But now it's been a decade. And I feel like a
- 30:20lot of the work that I do now is to remember, remind people that
- 30:23they are a part of that and that we all have like from the
- 30:26universe within us, that is here to connect, and guide and share
- 30:33love.
- 30:40Alan Carroll: Absolutely. So lightworker is if I understand
- 30:44this, though, I was listening to Alan Cohen. And it
- 30:57last weekend, I did the Sisters of Angel seminar in Sedona. And
- 31:06so for you talking about Sedona has a deep feeling inside of me.
- 31:12And transformation, Sedona if there's something there, that
- 31:22you're in the mindfulness business, just go there and hang
- 31:28out for a while. anywhere, anywhere you want to hang out,
- 31:34of course, the vibration is different. What did you notice
- 31:37about the vibrations in Sedona
- 31:43Unknown: and I'm just visualizing the Red Rock and
- 31:46just the quietness at times, there's just the quietness is
- 31:49what I really remember. It's just and then if you get into
- 31:54the town or meet with different Lightworkers I mean, everyone's
- 31:56vibrating at a higher level, they've done the internal work.
- 32:00And so the whole energy of the place, in fact, some of the
- 32:03light workers and energy practitioners can even live
- 32:05there because the energy is so intense. But I would say to your
- 32:08point, you know, it is worth just hanging out there.
- 32:13Alan Carroll: Yeah, I absolutely, absolutely. Well,
- 32:19I'm, I'm full of your love. And it was a pleasure and a joy. To
- 32:27have the opportunity to experience the experience that
- 32:31JJ is like, very, very sweet. And I'll be I'll definitely will
- 32:35will purchase the book and I cuz it's it's exactly where you are.
- 32:41In any any way we can help folks to support folks to, to be able
- 32:47to be calm to observe the thoughts that you see and not be
- 32:51seduced by the thoughts and be able to smile and laugh and wave
- 32:57in all like I did a I had a Buddhist monk, he said, bless
- 33:03all the thoughts and let them go. Bless them all. Just let
- 33:08them go. And that sort of frees you have there's a fluidity to
- 33:12that rather than sticking, sticking, sticking, no fluidity
- 33:16fluidity, fluidity. And to me spaces, fluidity and error
- 33:21rates, the soil, in error rates, the being error rates that
- 33:25allows it allows a on openings, little holes opening up into the
- 33:29fabric of your ego, and its flow goes this way. And then you
- 33:35realize, hey, the flow goes this way. And so you can go both
- 33:39ways. And so I just want to thank you very much. You were
- 33:42really a a wonderful delight to have an opportunity to
- 33:48experience you.
- 33:49Unknown: I really appreciate this discussion, and I look
- 33:52forward to more. So thank you, Alan.
- 33:54Alan Carroll: Bless you. Have a wonderful day JJ. You too. Bye
- 33:57bye for now.
