Latest / No Latency / S2E107 - Tale of Two Prisoners
Transcript
- 0:02Last time on no latency. So let's go ahead and just Bang
- 0:06Bang. Nice.
- 0:07Oh, it's bad. Well, I didn't sign up for this
- 0:08casting couch. Oh, it's not good.
- 0:10I'm trying to rule cool this as best I can you.
- 0:13Can be more on fire than you were before and also be dead.
- 0:16Have a slice. Nobody can hit you, Domino.
- 0:18I know he's a grunt, but that cockiness is going to come back
- 0:21to him so quick. See.
- 0:22Thanks, I rolled the dash really good.
- 0:24Good job Vendel. What a lazy bastard.
- 0:26Oh. Dead right hand no.
- 0:30He was just that close to death, all right.
- 0:31Where the chiropractors? There's more where that came
- 0:34from. You're welcome, because they.
- 0:35'D be blowing outbacks. Whoa, Hell yeah.
- 0:38Dominic No. That's not good.
- 0:39Just to be clear, we are saying that you're not human.
- 0:42I don't. Feel good about.
- 0:43That sounded strangely comfortable.
- 0:45Did we land on that? Oh shit, did he eat the Adam's
- 0:47apple? That's not good.
- 1:06Do you still think he's hot, baby?
- 1:13I don't know how to answer that question, Ayanna.
- 1:15That's. That's totally famous.
- 1:19That that that itself is the answer.
- 1:23I will say I am concerned this is like.
- 1:27I am also concerned. We we should get this checked
- 1:31out. It's like worse than jobs.
- 1:39Well, I mean, yeah, I was going to say what's that supposed to
- 1:42mean? But actually in this case, yeah.
- 1:46Did I do something wrong? Technically yes you did.
- 1:53I know in your mind you don't think it was wrong and we will
- 1:57figure out how to fix that. But as Jeb shared earlier,
- 2:07eating people is bad, so we will figure it out with how to
- 2:13control these urges. And you see him pull his arms
- 2:21back behind him and arch his back, and you hear the flesh
- 2:25that was torn open on his back congeal back into its original
- 2:29form and heal. The sound of a little bit of
- 2:34blood mixes with the rainfall in the puddles below.
- 2:40That's better. I'm sorry that you had to see
- 2:44that. But healing was necessary.
- 2:47Survival. Yeah, but did you have to?
- 2:52You don't have to eat people to heal.
- 2:54I mean, we have a doctor on call and I gesticulate over to VV.
- 3:02Yes, yes, yes. V is having a lot of complicated
- 3:13thoughts. Truly.
- 3:16OK, you know what this is. This is a problem for later VV.
- 3:19OK, right now we have a problem in front of us that we need to
- 3:24figure out. And that is?
- 3:28Getting in this building and I guess destroying it.
- 3:32Well, there's there's a big hole in the wall where the car went
- 3:35through. OK, let's.
- 3:38And and then looks like the the window directly in front of us
- 3:42is open and maybe the door over there as well.
- 3:45I think we can get in. Yes, let's start with that
- 3:47secret thing that I broke open. Well, what secret thing?
- 3:53There was like a secret door or wall or something that I shot,
- 3:57yeah. Yeah.
- 4:00Oh, there. Yeah, that.
- 4:06What do you do, Phoebe? I'm going to go in the window.
- 4:09Call. You climb through the window.
- 4:11I'm going. To climb through the window so.
- 4:12So we're just looting now. We kind of, we came here, we
- 4:17fucked their shit up. Now we're just going to.
- 4:18I mean, were we just going to leave?
- 4:21Metro's already. Been going through the the
- 4:23pockets of bad boy and everybody else.
- 4:25Isn't that what we were doing already?
- 4:28You guys saying something? I wasn't paying attention.
- 4:30I was trying to get everything out of these guys pockets.
- 4:36Yes, we're going in the building.
- 4:40And I'll be there in a second. OK, all right.
- 4:46I'm heading through the window and I'm going to go through the
- 4:48secret door. Anybody wants to follow or or go
- 4:51other ways? Excellent.
- 4:54You step into this room and as you step in you see a few crates
- 4:58on the ground. There's some closed lockers on
- 5:00the walls, some makeshift beds, and a dead body next to an
- 5:06exploded car. Do you leave this room?
- 5:11Yeah, OK. You're.
- 5:14Going to step into the back room.
- 5:15Yeah. You step into the backroom and
- 5:19it is a storage room of sorts. Larger crates.
- 5:23They seem to have some sort of pretty generic parts for
- 5:27vehicles. It looks like one of the ways
- 5:29they made money was chopping up vehicles and reselling them.
- 5:32But as you step into the room, you step between 3 red barrels
- 5:37full of chew. Oh, OK, well.
- 5:41As you take another step into the room, you see that there are
- 5:43also three dead bodies in here. Oh.
- 5:48Back here. Whoa.
- 5:50Well, that's good for Vanna White, but that are these bodies
- 5:57maelstrom or just OK? If you want to know more, you'll
- 6:01have to examine them. I will take a look 1 moment.
- 6:08Then, though, we should also go inside.
- 6:09It is raining and I, I don't, I don't want to be near the the
- 6:15body that you squished with your feet anymore.
- 6:19I'm going to wash my foot in this puddle over here and then
- 6:22I'll come in. Perfect.
- 6:23Awesome. Should I, should I wet my feet
- 6:25before I step through the broken window or afterwards?
- 6:28Before, please. OK, that's fine.
- 6:31And then Dell does a little clean, a little shuffle in the
- 6:34rain, and steps in, shaking off the water.
- 6:41There's some close lockers in here.
- 6:43There's a dead guy over there. I've I just Jeb and Vivi are
- 6:49doing a thing in the in what is apparently a secret room, so I
- 6:52just can't be out of the rain. Fair enough.
- 6:55I wonder what they're up to. Just examining.
- 7:02Just examining some dead bodies. Yeah, you did You kill these
- 7:08people like real quick before I got here or?
- 7:13As you can see and I analyzed it.
- 7:16Cool. They died of a broken heart.
- 7:41Well, no. The the guy in the back, though,
- 7:43you're old and 18. The guy in the back though, his
- 7:45face is very, very familiar. As you can see, Jeb, they've
- 7:52been dead for like over a week, which is pretty messed up.
- 7:56Who's that guy? This.
- 7:58Guy in the back, really familiar, recognize his face
- 8:02from somewhere, but he just he can't quite pin it.
- 8:06Jeb, do you recognize this person?
- 8:09What is something? Something looks familiar to that
- 8:15about them. Let's see.
- 8:18I'm going to try to roll something to see if he
- 8:23concentrates with all of her brain to try to see if she can
- 8:27recognize the spades. You find a medical tag bracelet
- 8:33around one of his legs. Jeb, you rolled an 800 duction.
- 8:40You're fairly certain. Is it that guy?
- 8:45It's a banana. I think he's part of the banana
- 8:52crew. You ever heard of them?
- 8:54He's got a banana tattoo. Hold on, I'm going to take a
- 8:59closer look you. Must be part of the bananas.
- 9:04Ruthless. Watch out and you'll slip up.
- 9:09Boo. Also, is it, oh this guy,
- 9:15Deckard Kane? Deckard.
- 9:19Not Deckard Kane, but yes. Yeah, I remember this guy
- 9:23because it's Harrison Ford. It's not the same guy.
- 9:28Oh, but his face is familiar. What the heck?
- 9:34This isn't the same. But his face is.
- 9:37Is this a clone do? You want to scan and find out.
- 9:41Yeah, Damon. Kane is from Diablo.
- 9:44Yes, Decker Kane is from Diablo. I'm.
- 9:47Thinking of Deckard. That was not his name.
- 9:50Who's Rick Deckard? Rick Deckard.
- 9:52Rick. Deckard from Blade Runner, That
- 9:54art, that art is. Is is a homage.
- 9:58Is. A homage to a Blade Runner that
- 10:01Cyberpunk made anyway, sorry. 17 three you can.
- 10:06Close your. Indication. 3/3.
- 10:09Three months 'cause it's. Yeah, 'cause it's scan.
- 10:20Can please? Park in DNA match doctor.
- 10:24Glass. Now Vivi, if you remember your
- 10:28adventure, the clone that you did find was the third one.
- 10:38This is another clone. Does this say anything about
- 10:44what clone number it is or anything like that?
- 10:49You're old. High enough.
- 10:50Yes, the label says 1. One on his eyelid.
- 10:53So it's it's the it's the oldest of the ones that went missing.
- 10:59Interesting. OK, well, the Maelstrom got a
- 11:04hold of a clone, but they probably, they probably didn't
- 11:11care. Like this, this, I don't know.
- 11:13This doesn't look like they're Emma or anything.
- 11:19So. I'm going to keep looking
- 11:21around. Cool.
- 11:22Yeah. Roll me a perception check in
- 11:25this room. Perception 16 On the far left
- 11:29wall, next to a crate, you see the indentation of a hidden
- 11:33door. Oh, oh, there's another hidden
- 11:36door behind you. Jeb, can you just go check that
- 11:40little spot next to the crate there?
- 11:43Oh, just right here. Yeah, I don't know, just like
- 11:48push in or something, Push, push, push or pull just.
- 11:54OK, I guess I'll push. Whoa.
- 11:58Jeb, you enter into the main lobby of this building and there
- 12:00are a bunch of lockers in here, some crates, and a scorched mark
- 12:05on the ground where Domino's Rocket blasted into the room.
- 12:09Yeah, I just kind of slipped right through.
- 12:12Oh, there's a scorch mark down here where a rocket must have
- 12:15hit. And one of their lockers is
- 12:20completely destroyed and anything in it is completely
- 12:22ruined. But there are other lockers in
- 12:27here are. You looting Jeb?
- 12:32Yeah, just just doing some looting.
- 12:35I'm going to go check out what are these lockers?
- 12:40Great, sure, roll me one D6 for each locker you want to look
- 12:45through. First time officially using
- 12:47these dice in the game. Woo Hoo. 3.
- 12:53All right, you find 2 items. Oh.
- 12:55OK. That one first, yeah.
- 12:57You find 2 items in this locker. How many lockers are you looking
- 13:00through? I'm gonna I well, I guess we'll
- 13:02just keep going until I am satisfied.
- 13:06Sure, you open up another locker.
- 13:08Or five. And you got 5 and a six. 03
- 13:13again and then we'll just, I'll just keep going 2, five and last
- 13:201-2. Cool, so that is 9 different
- 13:26items. Wow.
- 13:30And here we go. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa,
- 13:33whoa. 9 items. Damn.
- 13:37All right, I'm gonna have to make a note of all these.
- 13:40What'd you find, Jeff? Well, I found a Med kit and a
- 13:47cool magazine, which, you know, you you think I'm just saying
- 13:52that it's a cool magazine. No, no, this magazine, it's
- 13:54called Cool Magazine. Oh.
- 13:57I've heard about that. It's about guns.
- 13:59Yeah, because of the because the magazine have a gun.
- 14:02Yeah, it just kind of does double duty there.
- 14:04That word in that title. Nice.
- 14:08I also found some armor piercing ammo.
- 14:12A frag grenade. Oh man, I would.
- 14:14I need that frag grenade. It's been a while since I had a
- 14:16grenade, so I'm just going to go ahead and make a note of that
- 14:20and oh, I'll find a baseball cap.
- 14:23GS 69. Oh, I.
- 14:26Don't know what GS stands for but I do know 69 cents.
- 14:29Oh, was that? Gas station.
- 14:31Gas station that we. Went to.
- 14:36They have their own baseball caps, huh?
- 14:38Wow, they're really leaning into the marketing I guess.
- 14:42Well, you know, merch is a really important part of a
- 14:45business plan. Not usually for gas stations,
- 14:49but, you know, good on them. Oh.
- 14:52You've got 2 copies of the magazine.
- 14:53Jeb. Jeb.
- 14:56All right. Yeah, for sure.
- 14:57Here you go. Can.
- 14:58I. Have the other one I want to
- 14:59make a scrapbook. Oh, scrap.
- 15:01Oh, Oh yeah. Let me know how that goes.
- 15:03Thanks man. Oh gosh, I'm gum.
- 15:06Oh good 'cause I haven't brushed my teeth in a while.
- 15:12I want a combat knife. Well, I'm gonna be honest, it's
- 15:14not as nice as the combat shovels.
- 15:16I'm gonna go ahead and just anyone wants a combat knife?
- 15:20I'm good. OK, I'm gonna and some trank
- 15:24darts. Nice.
- 15:26And I don't got a trank dart gun, I don't think.
- 15:29Oh. I do.
- 15:30Oh, you do. Yes.
- 15:32All right, here. Yeah, take these.
- 15:33Thank you. Score same time.
- 15:36And Jabba, all of the lockers in this room have now been
- 15:38searched. Who?
- 15:42All right, let's keep looking to see if there's anything else in
- 15:46here. Vivi walk into what seemingly
- 15:49was the office. Yeah.
- 15:51Let's take a look at this office.
- 15:54There's a shitty computer in here, A desk, there's a back
- 15:56door, a door that leads to the South, a few windows, some
- 16:02lockers. It's pretty generic in here.
- 16:05I'll look in these lockers. Cool, roll me roll ME3D6 you get
- 16:126. Items.
- 16:14OH. Oh OK, let's go.
- 16:20Jackpot pack of smokes, some scrap.
- 16:28I guess I can give this to retro or something, I don't know.
- 16:32In scenario MO, I can give this to Iona O25 eddies.
- 16:36I'll take that. Trash.
- 16:40And an empty can. Great.
- 16:45Great. Well, at least I got a pack of
- 16:47smokes. Could be worse, could be a
- 16:49spitter. A what?
- 16:51A. Spitter.
- 16:52Yeah, you know, like if you're. Shaw people shoot tobacco.
- 16:58Oh, that, yeah, that's what I was thinking too.
- 17:01I see. No, you weren't.
- 17:04OK, well, this place. No, you weren't.
- 17:12This place looks pretty pretty boring to be honest.
- 17:19Thanks, Tracy. This place kind.
- 17:23Of a piece of. Shit.
- 17:26This place right here. Do you walk out the South door?
- 17:31Yeah, I'm gonna. All right, baby.
- 17:35You walk out the South door and you're in this little courtyard.
- 17:37To your left you see the purple van that was being worked on at
- 17:40the beginning of the fight. To your right you see two more
- 17:43barrels of choom, and to your S there's a door.
- 17:46And crudely written on the door is the word jail.
- 17:51Jail. Is this where the Maelstrom put
- 17:53the baddies? The door is unlocked.
- 18:00All right, let's head into jail. Wouldn't be the first?
- 18:18Journey into the world of Frostborn.

- 18:57The endless Winter. Has finally come.
- 19:01And I'll be joining Dungeons in Randomness on May 31st at 7:00
- 19:05PM West Coast time as part of Thera Thon.
- 19:07Come check it out. And now back to the show, baby.
- 19:14You step into this little outhouse room under a little
- 19:18overcrop in the corner of the combat zone in Night City.
- 19:22There are two sofas in here, three more lockers, and at the
- 19:25very end of the room there's a big window and a locked door.
- 19:29And inside the room you see two people, bound and blindfolded,
- 19:34alive. Oh, I run back out to the door
- 19:42and just yell. Hey, there's a couple of people
- 19:46bound up and alive in here. Can somebody help me?
- 19:54Who turns up? On there.
- 19:57I'll go. Also it's locked so if somebody
- 20:03can help with that. Wait, shit, where'd you go?
- 20:07It's out. That's all splashed.
- 20:13Prisoners. Oh.
- 20:16Yeah, that's. Fortunate Retro.
- 20:18Are you joining everyone? No.
- 20:22OK. Are you looting?
- 20:24Yeah, that's I, I was looting and I have I have a secondary
- 20:30mission in in plan. OK cool romy, 2D6 to loot.
- 20:36I'm hoping there's going to be something good on the big bosses
- 20:38because nobody looted them. 2D. Six, you find two things.
- 20:47Sanitizer and some incendiary ammo.
- 20:50Man, these bosses whatever like. No, that was on the other body.
- 20:55No, no, no, that was on the other bodies.
- 20:59The the big boss had 870 eddies on him.
- 21:06No one's around to see you take that money, so no one knows that
- 21:09you have it. Bad Boy had 200 eddies on him.
- 21:12That's good. That's that's a nice little nice
- 21:15little hall. The big boss had a pretty
- 21:19generic heavy melee weapon that you could take if you wanted to,
- 21:23but it would it would take up a larger amount of your backpack
- 21:27than normal and you'd have to leave in a weapon at home.
- 21:31And then he's got his magnum opus Hellbringer, which is
- 21:34heavily used and is very low quality.
- 21:36If it ever misfires, it will break, but it also only has a
- 21:43clip of three. But it shoots shotgun shells
- 21:46from a handheld gun. Damn.
- 21:49That's an exotic weapon I'll. Take that more of the call
- 21:52again. The magnum opus Hellbringer.
- 21:55Magnum opus Hellbringer I'm. Just.
- 21:58Going to write that down somewhere do.
- 22:00You want me to put it into your sheet?
- 22:02Yeah, that'd be nice. Thank you.
- 22:03No. Worries it's retro sheet.
- 22:06There it is. There you go, and the only
- 22:12weapon that is any better than the one that you already have on
- 22:17Bad Boy is his rebar bat. He just has a generic assault
- 22:21rifle otherwise. The.
- 22:22Rebar. The rebar bat is a 3D6 melee
- 22:26weapon. That's a rate of fire of two.
- 22:29It's very crudely made, so it's just a baseball bat handle
- 22:33welded to a piece of rebar. Diamond in the rough, I can make
- 22:37it better. I can fix it.
- 22:40It's about it's about how you use it and retro you go off to
- 22:44finish your other task as you wade through the dead bodies out
- 22:48here. Meanwhile, in the jail Vivi,
- 22:52you're staring through a window at these two bound people.
- 22:57Yes. Can somebody help me unlock this
- 23:02thing? Oh yeah, I can help.
- 23:05I'm pretty good at unlocking stuff.
- 23:09Yeah. Jeb, you're standing in front of
- 23:13a locked door. There is a pretty simple
- 23:17computer next to it for locking, but it is a regular locking
- 23:19mechanism with a wall lock. All right, well, give me a SEC.
- 23:29I think I got a little lock pick in here somewhere on my keys.
- 23:34Keys real. Quick.
- 23:35Well, Foley. Foley, Foley, there it is, all
- 23:41right. Whoa, pick pocket.
- 23:47Oh shit, yeah, sorry. Pick pick lock.
- 23:50Plus, I wanted to. Plus I wanted to roll my my my
- 23:53physical dice. Right, your pick lock is a total
- 23:57of 9, so you add 9 to your roll. So that is 15. 15 that meets a
- 24:08difficult task. I'm going to say that's what
- 24:11this is. 15 is literally a difficult task and the door
- 24:15open. Oh, looks like, looks like these
- 24:18poor souls ain't got a well, they don't.
- 24:22They don't look too good, Doc. Yeah.
- 24:27No, they're not. We have.
- 24:30We have to help them. Yeah, let's.
- 24:37I am going to untie them. OK.
- 24:45Are you going to untie them one at a time or those at the same
- 24:48time? One at a time.
- 24:50So there are two guys in here, one that looks, yeah, the one
- 24:53you're standing in front of looks a little bit more clean
- 24:57cut. With your fairly, with your
- 25:02experience in Night City, he comes across as a bit of an
- 25:04exec. I'll start with the exec.
- 25:13Wait, no, don't kill me. I just don't care.
- 25:17Why are you here? What?
- 25:19What's what happened? I I'm biotechnical executive.
- 25:24Oh, they they tried to. Ransom me to the company they.
- 25:33That'll never work. The Maelstrom they.
- 25:37And Maelstrom tried to ransom. Role, Role.
- 25:39Human perception. OK.
- 25:42But because. I'm I own a real human
- 25:44perception. Yes, real human perception
- 25:46outside. The window do do do.
- 25:54I'm waiting for Iona's. I don't remember where human
- 25:57perception is. I only know where regular
- 25:59perception is social. There it is.
- 26:02Human perception insight for this I'm going to give you.
- 26:07I'm going to give you plus one. I know you've already rolled,
- 26:12but I'm going to give you plus one to add that role because you
- 26:15are biotechnic. Can I?
- 26:17I know this sounds silly. Can I use my inspiration?
- 26:24It doesn't sound if. You're about to give it to me.
- 26:26No, I was not about to give it to you.
- 26:27Yes, you may know your inspiration, OK.
- 26:29Great. I'm going to put I'm going.
- 26:34To put my last. Three luck into it.
- 26:35I know it's so my pet sounds like I'm doing it.
- 26:37I'm doing it. No, no, it's fine.
- 26:39Oh yeah. Sure, that brings it up to a 15.
- 26:4215 is a difficult task. Yes.
- 26:44You pass. Well done.
- 26:45He's fucking lying. You actually know his name?
- 26:49His name is Mark Zeiger, and he's known for having a lot of
- 26:53debt. And he's lying.
- 26:58He's lying. OK.
- 27:01OK, well, I will deal with you in a moment.
- 27:08He's also very hurt. I'm going to untie the other
- 27:12guy. As you get closer to the other
- 27:16guy, you do. In what order do you untie this
- 27:19man? The mouth first.
- 27:22Please look at me. I.
- 27:27Don't know where I am, everything feels weird.
- 27:29How did you get here? No, I was just taking a leak in
- 27:33an alley and then. Hit over the head and.
- 27:36I woke up in the operating theatre and then was in a tube
- 27:39and then some guy stole me from a van and then they put a
- 27:42blindfold on me. I don't know how long I've been
- 27:44in a help. In a tube.
- 27:47He's one of the clones. I'm one of the.
- 27:49What? Nothing.
- 27:52OK, he can't see you. Gang, I don't know what's going
- 28:02on. There's two guys.
- 28:04Do you guys hearing this, the maelstrom just keeping these
- 28:07guys hostage? Well, one of them obviously I is
- 28:12in debt to them, I am sure. So it makes sense to why he's in
- 28:16here. But but you said that that's a
- 28:18clone. Yeah, there's another.
- 28:22There's another one of them dead in the other room.
- 28:26Oh. No.
- 28:29Do not, do not show him that. No, don't that.
- 28:32That might freak him out. Yeah, I don't know what
- 28:38Maelstrom is doing with all these guys.
- 28:42Well, that, that one, I don't know.
- 28:46This one is obvious. We, we, we could just cut him
- 28:49loose. I don't think he's going to be
- 28:52much harm to anyone. Are you trying to hide the fact
- 28:56that you were saying you're going to cut him loose?
- 28:59Yes, I I am still. Talking in, in, yeah.
- 29:02And VV will like kind of return and talk and talk in low tones.
- 29:07OK, you know what? We have radios.
- 29:09We could probably say this over our radios into each other's
- 29:13ears. So yes, I I do think that the
- 29:18other one, you should just cut those.
- 29:20Yes. Anyway, in in my ear.
- 29:21What were you saying? But I.
- 29:27Yeah, we could cut him loose. I guess we're dealing with the
- 29:34maelstrom problem, so it doesn't really matter.
- 29:42What about this Biotechnica guy? What do you want to do to?
- 29:45Him. Oh, no, no, that's what I was
- 29:47talking about. Oh.
- 29:48He's not him loose. He's not Biotechnica.
- 29:52Look at him. Oh, he didn't.
- 29:54Get me Biotechnica, but he was lying about Biotechnica paying
- 29:58no the the Biotechnica guy for sure.
- 30:01We could cut him loose, but not until we transfer his debt to
- 30:04us. Oh, OK.
- 30:10I like that. That's what I'm.
- 30:11Saying we've taken care of the maelstrom problem Mostly yes.
- 30:18Which takes care of his problem mostly.
- 30:22So he does need to repay us. Yes, OK, OK.
- 30:27I I see where you're going here. If you could the two of you get
- 30:34some money out of him, I think that you should be able to put
- 30:38him on a hook somehow. I, however, don't think I should
- 30:42be involved here. So Vendel and I are going to go
- 30:46to Vanna White so that he doesn't recognize us.
- 30:50But if you need help, we'll be on the radio.
- 30:52We're on the radios. That makes remembered that we
- 30:55have, yes. All right, noted.
- 30:57Pretty smart. All right, good luck.
- 31:00And I, owner and Vendel leave the building heading to
- 31:03Banawhite. Who's the other guy?
- 31:08Oh, Retro, The other guy is a clone of the Doctor.
- 31:16What's his name again? That's that's Doctor Glass.
- 31:19Doctor Glass. Who the hell is Doctor Glass?
- 31:23He's a guy that I met a while ago.
- 31:28Just a cat. Tell me it's another Chad
- 31:30situation. No, he, we, I, I saw him last
- 31:36month. Do you want patience records?
- 31:38Yes. My brain is a bit fuzzy.
- 31:41Confirmed patience Doctor Black, accessing patience notes,
- 31:47emerges to Cyberwear. His blood is a.
- 31:52Known cure in high school. My gosh.
- 31:54To cybernetic rejection. Why?
- 31:57Why? Why is?
- 31:58Multiple internal organ replacement.
- 32:00Still alive donors must be a genetic.
- 32:03Match usually unwilling patient. Has done this many times.
- 32:08Evidence. Massive internal scarring.
- 32:12Observed in operating. Condition his.
- 32:14Life probably saves thousands every.
- 32:17Year observed in person March 26. 2049, Doctor.
- 32:23Baby, you replaced his heart. This is the one I did surgery
- 32:27on. Yes.
- 32:30Oh, boy. All right.
- 32:35You didn't hear any of that? It is a complicated story.
- 32:42You could try and work out if you can somehow stabilize him to
- 32:45give him more time by scanning him, but you know full well that
- 32:49if you do nothing, this man will die fairly soon.
- 32:53That's why the other guy died, right?
- 32:55OK, so these guys like, Oh my gosh, it's very complicated.
- 32:59Retro. Essentially.
- 33:00There's this guy in Night City who's making clones to get body
- 33:05parts because he has the cure or he thinks he has the cure.
- 33:14To refresh my brain, this guy is a known cure.
- 33:19In high circle to. Cybernetic rejection he thinks
- 33:23he has this cure to cyber magnetic rejection and they
- 33:27there's a bunch of clones out there where we collect the
- 33:31harvest organs from them This guy yes this guy is not long for
- 33:37this world because of the process it's honestly really
- 33:42unfortunate I can. There's really nothing to.
- 33:46Do for him. I was going to say not to be
- 33:50cruel for kind of taken, but can't you give him a peaceful?
- 33:56Out. If he wants it.
- 34:01I could, yes, you're right, because I could try to give.
- 34:06Him. Some secrets though from him
- 34:07first, like make sure he tells you whatever the formula is for
- 34:12whatever the cybernetic rejection thing is.
- 34:14I don't know if he knows because I think only his original knows.
- 34:21I don't think he has any idea what he is or his purpose.
- 34:26It's I. Don't know what's going on.
- 34:27It's very sad. I.
- 34:28Work in a hot. Dog stand.
- 34:30Exactly. The clone works at a hot dog
- 34:33stand. What you just told me is not a
- 34:36clone. What you just told me by that
- 34:38description is gene therapy and is thus a mutant.
- 34:43You've mutated their DNA. I didn't, but the whom, whom
- 34:47stever did this? Yes, you're you're correct.
- 34:51It's not a clone. I guess that's just like an
- 34:53easier layman's term way of describing it for people who
- 34:56don't understand. But yes, this was a person who
- 35:03had a life and existed up until somebody grabbed him.
- 35:08Is the maelstrom the one making these people?
- 35:11No, they're not. They're not smart enough.
- 35:15Are they the ones grabbing them to the people that you make
- 35:17them? That's the thing, they are
- 35:19grabbing them. If you can get a chance, I would
- 35:23say we should probably take some of their DNA to see if we can
- 35:27fuck fuck around and see what they're doing with it.
- 35:33I mean, do we have the like lab materials and stuff to do that?
- 35:40You can always ask what is. You've got Iona, they work at
- 35:44Biotechnica, and I've also got the workshop.
- 35:49What about Doctor Dave? True, true.
- 35:53These are all. These are all options.
- 35:56Look, if this person is a cure to that, I mean, I'm sorry to,
- 36:02they've got to feel a little like Iona at this point, but
- 36:05that's the money that can be made there.
- 36:10And there could be a lot of things solved from this too.
- 36:16Yes. So OK.
- 36:20Are you suggesting retro? Maybe I take some of his DNA.
- 36:25Yeah, just take a blood sample. I could do that.
- 36:32You can. Do for saving him.
- 36:34All right, baby. You step back into the room.
- 36:36This man is still bound on the floor.
- 36:37The executive is now sitting on the sofa.
- 36:40Since you united him and breathing heavily, you can tell
- 36:43with no check that he is quite hurt and would appreciate some
- 36:49medical assistance, although he probably could hobble away.
- 36:53The guy tied up on the ground, however, is not doing well.
- 37:00Man, OK, I. Well.
- 37:07Look buddy, I'm going to help you first.
- 37:10I'm going to help you and I'm going to let you go all.
- 37:13Right, so are you taking blood and scanning this guy?
- 37:16I'm going to yeah, scan him, make it seem like I'm like
- 37:18helping him and I am going to help him and then also going to
- 37:21take his blood all. Right, roll me a medical check
- 37:23and then something to draw blood carefully.
- 37:39Oh excellent, with your 14 you draw the blood perfectly which
- 37:49if you keep chilled well for a it will be viable for a few
- 37:54months. It is a cure for cybernetic
- 37:59rejection. You don't have that.
- 38:01If you want to examine it and try and reverse engineer it,
- 38:04it's probably very difficult because that doctor was really
- 38:06smart. If he could reverse engineer it,
- 38:07you probably would have done. But you still have that with
- 38:11your 20 though. The thing you deduce with your
- 38:13scanner is that there is a cure for this man.
- 38:17Applying new data set to scan patient, alert current
- 38:21prognosis. This fucker is going.
- 38:25To. Die.
- 38:26Possible cure for diagnosis? Patience.
- 38:29Maybe save if given? Boarding classified Biotechnica
- 38:32body. Fuel.
- 38:37Bite. Hey Iona, I go in the earpiece.
- 38:45Do you have anybody fuel bite? Next time on no latency.
- 39:05Wait, wait. Made of.
- 39:06That's the option. Or we could go back to the lab.
- 39:09Well, I guess we don't really have a choice right now.
- 39:11How much does facial reconstruction cost?
- 39:13Give him the money. I'll just hold it for.
- 39:15You a lot of problems that I can't help with because I'm a
- 39:18doctor. Have you cured him yet?
- 39:19No, not yet. Maybe give him an additional
- 39:212000. I'll pay you back.
- 39:23You should probably. Do that.
- 39:24It's a little nasty, but you'll be all right if.
- 39:26That's not really your thing. This file.
- 39:28This whole thing is really going to be a huge curse.
- 39:30Here is in him somewhere so we could figure that out, right?
- 39:33Neither option was good. I'm just saying how bad is this?
- 39:36Well, if any of the three of you are on the brink of death, the.
- 39:39Data is still a bit fragmented for me.
- 39:41You could have been fun of this entire operation.
- 39:43That's my metaphorical one, I mean.
- 39:44It's learning. I'm sorry.
- 39:46Oh. Shit, Windows Update again.
- 39:48Checks out. Yep, that's where I thought we.
- 39:50Were are we plug and play here or are we having to go through
- 39:52soldering it? Wasn't me.
- 39:54Load and they. Update and then they restart
- 39:56themselves. OK, I think it's brilliant.
- 39:58Is that brilliant? I can't tell.
- 40:00Is that brilliant? Thank you listener once again
