- 2:08Speaker 1: a champion. HAVE known her a long time and street
- 2:12Speaker 1: to New York City back in the day when I
- 2:13Speaker 1: was out there. We both were struggling back then trying
- 2:15Speaker 1: to tell people how funny we could be. My Necklace
- 2:18Speaker 1: is the best selling author of four books and she
- 2:21Speaker 1: travels the globe sharing love and laughter. She is an actress, comedian, speaker,
- 2:27Speaker 1: and motivational coach who show his career has spanned over
- 2:30Speaker 1: thirty five years. She teaches audiences to empower, educate, and
- 2:35Speaker 1: entertain so they can broadcast their brilliance in order to
- 2:38Speaker 1: draw a draw a bigger impact and more income with
- 2:41Speaker 1: Kim Unity Mastermind please working the money making conversations Kim Cole's.
- 2:48Speaker 1: It is a delight and an honor to be here
- 2:51Speaker 1: with you. You know, it's really great. Like I said, uh,
- 2:55Speaker 1: we all go through long careers, and I think a
- 2:58Speaker 1: long career been able to read invent yourself, being able
- 3:01Speaker 1: to extend multiple levels of income. Because that's basically what
- 3:04Speaker 1: your intro was saying. You travel and you speaking, you're motivating,
- 3:07Speaker 1: your coaching and now on your your social media team
- 3:11Speaker 1: is really are defining a different path for you. Are
- 3:14Speaker 1: as a path I just became aware of it. Tell
- 3:17Speaker 1: us every tell everybody, let's set up of what you
- 3:19Speaker 1: involved with community. Oh yes, well, let me give a
- 3:23Speaker 1: little context. So yes, I'm an actress and a comedian
- 3:27Speaker 1: and all of those things. And I've been in the business,
- 3:29Speaker 1: you know, like you was saying, thirty five years, that's
- 3:31Speaker 1: how long ago. I'm sure we met way back then,
- 3:34Speaker 1: you know, that's when I started in New York, right.
- 3:37Speaker 1: The thing is there, there came a point where I
- 3:38Speaker 1: was sitting around waiting for auditions, and that puts the
- 3:43Speaker 1: power in someone else's hands, and I really wanted to
- 3:46Speaker 1: put the power in my own. And so I thought
- 3:47Speaker 1: to myself, and this is a long story, but I
- 3:50Speaker 1: thought to myself, what can I do that is outside
- 3:53Speaker 1: of the realm of waiting for someone to give me something?
- 3:56Speaker 1: And the trick was using my own gifts and talents.
- 4:00Speaker 1: And I want people to hear that you can do
- 4:03Speaker 1: that too. You can use all the gifts and talents
- 4:06Speaker 1: that you have been given and that you have developed
- 4:08Speaker 1: and that you've been blessed with too. Uh to create
- 4:13Speaker 1: multiple streams of income, multiple streams of interest, because I
- 4:17Speaker 1: needed something to do that was better than sitting around.
- 4:21Speaker 1: And what evolved was a program called Gifts g I
- 4:26Speaker 1: f t S. Because I was looking for my gift
- 4:28Speaker 1: and it's gratitude intention forgiveness, triumphs, and self love. I
- 4:32Speaker 1: believe that those are some isn't that good principles that
- 4:35Speaker 1: you need to develop your gifts? And so that was
- 4:37Speaker 1: a program and then it eventually evolved into what I
- 4:40Speaker 1: call my community. Hey, I am you and I t
- 4:45Speaker 1: y um and I have a mastermind, a monthly mastermind
- 4:50Speaker 1: called the community Mastermind. And so this is where I
- 4:53Speaker 1: take people on a really on a journey. That's really
- 4:57Speaker 1: the journey that I've been on to developing my stuff
- 5:00Speaker 1: personally for all that personal development, you know, really asking
- 5:04Speaker 1: yourself the hard questions, getting an action about your life,
- 5:07Speaker 1: your spirituality, your health and your well being. And on
- 5:10Speaker 1: the other side, the business side, how do I want
- 5:13Speaker 1: to um build my business? What can I do? How
- 5:18Speaker 1: can I serve people? And all of that? And so
- 5:22Speaker 1: I speak, I teach, I coach and I love it
- 5:25Speaker 1: and I gotta tell you it's ten times better than
- 5:28Speaker 1: an audition. And do I still audition, Yes, I do shone.
- 5:31Speaker 1: So you know, you know, the interesting thing about your
- 5:33Speaker 1: story is that the first thy Popsie is control. And
- 5:37Speaker 1: so many people are even though they have a daily
- 5:39Speaker 1: job that they go to, they don't feel there's any
- 5:42Speaker 1: control because you don't know there's no guarantee with their job,
- 5:44Speaker 1: or is there any guarantee of the the atmosphere that
- 5:47Speaker 1: you're walking into, because a lot of people bring their
- 5:49Speaker 1: bad days to work and so and I remember early
- 5:53Speaker 1: on when Steve Harvey I got to Gear in two thousands,
- 5:57Speaker 1: I did his first radio contract, and one of the
- 6:00Speaker 1: reasons we did that radio contract was that we wanted
- 6:03Speaker 1: to control our destiny because I guess what, that was
- 6:05Speaker 1: a regular check every week, so we didn't have to
- 6:09Speaker 1: worry about auditions because we had a check. And it
- 6:13Speaker 1: really calmed us down. It really calmed us down. But
- 6:16Speaker 1: on the other side, people thought we were taking a
- 6:19Speaker 1: step back, you know. You know, he's not doing movies,
- 6:23Speaker 1: He's not he's not doing these concert tools. You know. Oh,
- 6:26Speaker 1: because I was right after he did. He had performed
- 6:29Speaker 1: the Kings of Common and everybody was blowing up on
- 6:31Speaker 1: Kings of Common and Steve was benefited as well, benefit
- 6:33Speaker 1: as well. But what I love and I just want
- 6:36Speaker 1: to share that story on my side because I understand
- 6:39Speaker 1: exactly what you're talking about. You can be successful, but
- 6:42Speaker 1: you may not be in control right and and you know,
- 6:47Speaker 1: for me, it was just finding an area of where
- 6:51Speaker 1: can I be in control, where can I guide the
- 6:54Speaker 1: guide my destiny, not ultimately for me. And I think
- 6:57Speaker 1: you'll understand this that the audience is your ultimate uh
- 7:01Speaker 1: you know, uh, you know the judge, the jury, and
- 7:05Speaker 1: the executioner, meaning you have to please those people. And
- 7:09Speaker 1: I gotta tell you, I remember you. You know you
- 7:13Speaker 1: guys did that. You know what we talked now about branding, right,
- 7:18Speaker 1: you did that way back when before anybody like regular
- 7:22Speaker 1: folks will talk about it. Certainly the people on Madison
- 7:24Speaker 1: Avenue was talking about it. But you set uh, you
- 7:28Speaker 1: set him and you all set the team in a
- 7:33Speaker 1: position of power and control, and so that the industry
- 7:37Speaker 1: was coming to you. When I wanted to promote something,
- 7:39Speaker 1: I wanted to come to you. And so anyone who's
- 7:43Speaker 1: listening to this, this is not just a showbi conversation.
- 7:47Speaker 1: It's about looking at your as I said, your gifts
- 7:50Speaker 1: and talent and looking at what you can set up
- 7:52Speaker 1: for yourself so that you create something where people will
- 7:55Speaker 1: come to you. They will come to you for what
- 7:58Speaker 1: you what you have, what wisdom you have, what what
- 8:01Speaker 1: learning you have. I say that I've been in this
- 8:03Speaker 1: for thirty five years. I now want to teach all
- 8:06Speaker 1: that I've learned. So I now take people on a
- 8:09Speaker 1: journey that I've been on myself. I've cleared the path
- 8:12Speaker 1: and I can help you know. You know, I like
- 8:15Speaker 1: to call it lift as my clients. So as I
- 8:17Speaker 1: build to the next level, in the next level, I'm
- 8:20Speaker 1: lifting people and taking people along with me. And that's
- 8:22Speaker 1: exactly what you all did. And you said, a beautiful
- 8:25Speaker 1: template in place that had not been done. We know
- 8:28Speaker 1: it's really in thank you, you know, because about Brandon
- 8:31Speaker 1: I was I was honored and uh for being a
- 8:33Speaker 1: Personal Manager of the Year and a lot of the individuals,
- 8:37Speaker 1: like William Shatner's manager, he didn't even know. He didn't
- 8:40Speaker 1: even know who I was. And he said, said, I
- 8:43Speaker 1: don't know who just got Rashaun mcgung list. But he
- 8:45Speaker 1: changed the game, he said, because absolutely. And the reason
- 8:49Speaker 1: I was able to do that because I worked at
- 8:50Speaker 1: IBM and I when I was sitting I would talk
- 8:53Speaker 1: to Steve. I said, why can't we treat you like
- 8:55Speaker 1: a business. Why can't we treat you like a corporation?
- 8:58Speaker 1: Because you know, they brand cars, they brand Hamburgers, they
- 9:02Speaker 1: brand clothes. Let's just treat you as an individual or
- 9:05Speaker 1: like a brand. And you know he understood what I
- 9:08Speaker 1: was saying. He trusted me because of the fact that
- 9:11Speaker 1: at that point I just had to associate him with
- 9:13Speaker 1: other brands like this forward home depot. And that's why
- 9:18Speaker 1: you know, when I started seeing your post and social media,
- 9:22Speaker 1: I got excited because I go, she gets it, she
- 9:25Speaker 1: understands because now she's using her brand to help other
- 9:28Speaker 1: people understand that this is how you make it. You
- 9:31Speaker 1: have to shout it out, especially with social media allows
- 9:34Speaker 1: you to to be an entrepreneur. You don't have to
- 9:36Speaker 1: you don't have to wait around buying commercials you're putting
- 9:39Speaker 1: billboards up. You can sit down and just create a
- 9:42Speaker 1: post and be able to sell your brand, tell your story.
- 9:46Speaker 1: And I just got excited him. You have to be
- 9:47Speaker 1: excited right now with this amount of information you've being
- 9:50Speaker 1: able to distribute based on the fact of who you are.
- 9:54Speaker 1: I'm able to use uh free outlets and of course
- 9:58Speaker 1: you can buy ads and we can talk a litt
- 10:00Speaker 1: up that later. Because it's free, it's it's accessible. You
- 10:04Speaker 1: go straight to the people. I don't need a producer,
- 10:07Speaker 1: I don't need you know, executives or network executives to
- 10:11Speaker 1: tammy yay or nay, or say the line the way
- 10:13Speaker 1: we wrote it. I do what I do is I
- 10:15Speaker 1: tap into my gifts and talents. I asked my audience
- 10:18Speaker 1: what I want, and I tap into what I have
- 10:20Speaker 1: that I want to give and share. And it has
- 10:23Speaker 1: been wonderful that you know. I should make a list
- 10:26Speaker 1: of all of the I couldn't make a list is
- 10:28Speaker 1: what I should say of all the what I have
- 10:32Speaker 1: received back just by putting myself out there, everything from
- 10:35Speaker 1: a trip to Africa that's upcoming, everything from speaking gigs.
- 10:40Speaker 1: You know, people see you and then they hire you.
- 10:43Speaker 1: And again. It happens for me because I'm a quote
- 10:47Speaker 1: unquote celebrity or in the public eye, but it can
- 10:49Speaker 1: happen forever for lots of people. I'm following the model
- 10:53Speaker 1: of people who did this who weren't celebrities. They got
- 10:56Speaker 1: their name out, they got established as an expert or
- 11:00Speaker 1: as a go to voice, and then you get seen,
- 11:04Speaker 1: you get hired, you get to and you get customers
- 11:08Speaker 1: and clients. I'm so glad I figured that out because
- 11:13Speaker 1: my peers, a lot of my peers are sitting on
- 11:16Speaker 1: greatness because they're waiting for they're waiting for the next,
- 11:19Speaker 1: their next big show. Look, look, I was on a
- 11:22Speaker 1: show that was number one in African American households for
- 11:25Speaker 1: five seasons. It was also hot in other people's households.
- 11:29Speaker 1: But we know that's the statistics that they kept saying.
- 11:32Speaker 1: It's still airs to this day. I still get those
- 11:35Speaker 1: residual checks, but a I can't live on those residuals
- 11:39Speaker 1: that they make a nice treat and be I'm not
- 11:42Speaker 1: waiting for the reboot. People want to reboot and that's nice,
- 11:45Speaker 1: but I'm already recharging and rebooting in my own life.
- 11:49Speaker 1: And if that comes along, that's that's the that's the
- 11:51Speaker 1: cherry on top. Let me just tell you this. It
- 11:54Speaker 1: is excited. This is excited. I'm gonna tell you about
- 11:56Speaker 1: your brother. I'm gonna tell you about your brand. Kim,
- 11:58Speaker 1: you look fantasic, a stick. You know you're being And
- 12:02Speaker 1: that's that's important in this conversation because you can't put
- 12:06Speaker 1: out average and expect greatness back. You know, your your photos,
- 12:12Speaker 1: your smile, your look, your poses. Because it's not the
- 12:15Speaker 1: same photo they got. They got several different looks of
- 12:18Speaker 1: you working, doing your thing out there, and that right
- 12:21Speaker 1: there engages me, It engages with Sean McDonald's just say, Wow,
- 12:26Speaker 1: she got it going on. Wow, I want to hear
- 12:29Speaker 1: what she's talking about. Wow she looks great. Can I
- 12:33Speaker 1: just can I get what she's eating? Can I Can
- 12:35Speaker 1: I go when she's partying? Can I travel with her?
- 12:38Speaker 1: Can I listen to her? So it's also what we
- 12:41Speaker 1: talked about earlier. You can have a great idea, but
- 12:43Speaker 1: if you don't brand it right, people may not react
- 12:46Speaker 1: to it. If you don't tell your story right, people
- 12:49Speaker 1: may not understand it. And I'm just telling you, Kim
- 12:51Speaker 1: Codes community mastermind, living a single thirty or five years
- 12:57Speaker 1: in the business, you are a branding phenomena right now.
- 13:00Speaker 1: And don't let nobody tell you nothing but Rush mcge
- 13:04Speaker 1: tell you the truth, because that's what I do getting started.
- 13:06Speaker 1: That's what I do because of the fact that you
- 13:08Speaker 1: know you. You know the thing about when you start
- 13:10Speaker 1: making these transitions, people will question you. Why's she doing there?
- 13:13Speaker 1: Why why's she going to Africa? You know why? I
- 13:16Speaker 1: don't see it on TV, I don't see it in
- 13:18Speaker 1: the movie. Hey, hey, hey, you know because people have planes.
- 13:23Speaker 1: It may not be your plan, but you gotta have
- 13:26Speaker 1: a plane. You gotta have a strategy. And that's all
- 13:28Speaker 1: you're talking about, right camp, That's all I'm talking about,
- 13:32Speaker 1: and everyone can. It is accessible to everyone. It used
- 13:35Speaker 1: to be a time where you had to hire a
- 13:37Speaker 1: Rashan McDonald or hire somebody from UH from Madison Avenue.
- 13:42Speaker 1: The truth is, the information is out there for you.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Your people like you teaching it, people like me teaching
- 13:47Speaker 1: my version of it. And it's successible, it's possible, it's doable.
- 13:51Speaker 1: And I'm gonna share a quote with you that changed
- 13:54Speaker 1: everything for me. And it was after left living single,
- 13:57Speaker 1: I went into a really dark depression. I'll be honest.
- 14:00Speaker 1: It was really tough because it was a great time
- 14:03Speaker 1: and we had joy every single day, you know how
- 14:06Speaker 1: You know how it is. That's a lot of set.
- 14:07Speaker 1: You really do form a family, you do, and I
- 14:11Speaker 1: went through a depression, I'll be honest. My story is
- 14:15Speaker 1: that I shopped through all of my money because I
- 14:17Speaker 1: didn't understand why I deserved it. I shopped through all
- 14:21Speaker 1: of it, and in my darkest hour, I happened to
- 14:24Speaker 1: find a quote that changed everything is by zig Zigglers
- 14:27Speaker 1: and the quote goes something like this, you can have
- 14:30Speaker 1: everything in life that you weren't. If you just help enough,
- 14:35Speaker 1: people get what they want. So what this says to
- 14:38Speaker 1: me that it's not about you. That's why I emphasize
- 14:41Speaker 1: your gifts and your talents, use them to help and
- 14:45Speaker 1: serve other people. So I was busy sitting around saying
- 14:47Speaker 1: I want to get another job on another TV show,
- 14:50Speaker 1: and I realized that my talents are bigger than that.
- 14:53Speaker 1: How can I help other people. I will get everything
- 14:56Speaker 1: I want, I'll be able to pay my bills if
- 14:58Speaker 1: I help other people and served in that way. And
- 15:01Speaker 1: so I hope that someone will hear that and go
- 15:03Speaker 1: that's the answer. That's actually one of the keys to
- 15:06Speaker 1: success is use what you have to share and help
- 15:11Speaker 1: grow other people, and in turn you will grow as well.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Change the game for me. And now that's what I'm
- 15:17Speaker 1: all about. Even when I do get a job on
- 15:20Speaker 1: a show. I just did a few episodes in the
- 15:22Speaker 1: cut on Bounce TV, and I go there with the
- 15:26Speaker 1: intention of sharing joy and laughter and bringing this character
- 15:30Speaker 1: to life because it will bring someone else joy. Rob Goodness,
- 15:34Speaker 1: I'm talking to Kim Cole's amazing Kim Cole's She's talking
- 15:37Speaker 1: about changing people's lives. She's been entertaining us for years,
- 15:40Speaker 1: but now she's entertaining us in a different way. She's
- 15:43Speaker 1: blessing us with information. They will make our lives better,
- 15:45Speaker 1: make our income is better, my income, our income better.
- 15:49Speaker 1: We'll be back for more money Making Conversations with Kim Cos.
- 15:51Speaker 1: We'll be right back with more from Marsa McDonald and
- 15:54Speaker 1: money Making Conversations. Don't touch that. Money Making Conversations continues

- 16:10Speaker 1: and do some plans into action. Just for Sharan McDonald
- 16:14Speaker 1: and you're listening to Money Making Conversation, this is a
- 16:16Speaker 1: show that Hey, there's no charge to get information from me,

- 16:23Speaker 1: charge you your time. I want to charge you or
- 16:26Speaker 1: make you sit down and and give it to me
- 16:28Speaker 1: so I can I can cultivate opportunities for you. So
- 16:31Speaker 1: you can listen to say I can do that too.
- 16:34Speaker 1: I want to be like that person too, not exactly
- 16:37Speaker 1: at that person, but financially like that person, successful like
- 16:40Speaker 1: that person, learned to plan like that person, to be
- 16:42Speaker 1: motivated like that person. That's what money making conversation is
- 16:45Speaker 1: all about. My guests on the show. You know, as
- 16:47Speaker 1: as an individual, you know, way back in New York,
- 16:50Speaker 1: you know, we crossed paths a couple of times when
- 16:53Speaker 1: we were trying to figure out what we want to
- 16:55Speaker 1: do as comedians, as as comedy actors, and and our
- 16:59Speaker 1: life has played in different ways. Hers has been more public,
- 17:02Speaker 1: mind has been more behind the scenes, and mine has
- 17:05Speaker 1: been marketing and branding and managing. And to see this evolution,
- 17:09Speaker 1: to see a lightbulb go in her head to say,
- 17:11Speaker 1: you know something, I'm successful, but I want more success
- 17:14Speaker 1: in controlling my success. And really that's what this interview
- 17:18Speaker 1: is all about. That's what you're telling the people who
- 17:21Speaker 1: are listening to you right now, correct, you absolutely, absolutely,

- 20:30Speaker 1: You're an expert, you know, and that's what you're You're
- 20:32Speaker 1: an influencer because you're saying all the right things and
- 20:34Speaker 1: I'm going like, hey, she's absolutely telling you you're true.
- 20:37Speaker 1: You know you don't have no no no no cake
- 20:40Speaker 1: pictures or no side angle pictures and no boyfriend girlfriend
- 20:44Speaker 1: pictures and no party pictures on LinkedIn. You know you have.
- 20:48Speaker 1: It's an industry based concept where if you got something
- 20:52Speaker 1: going on, you want to share it and you don't
- 20:54Speaker 1: have to have a large following to get to get
- 20:57Speaker 1: information out either. That's what I love about it too,
- 21:00Speaker 1: because streams and people find you and and let me
- 21:04Speaker 1: ask you to because that's why I that's where we reconnected.
- 21:07Speaker 1: We reconnected on LinkedIn, and I mean, like several months
- 21:10Speaker 1: I've been I've just been looking at you. I'm going
- 21:12Speaker 1: this girl here, this girl here, and so you know,
- 21:14Speaker 1: you go through you go through Thanksgaring, you go through Christmas.
- 21:17Speaker 1: And then I said, I told my team, I said, hey,
- 21:19Speaker 1: I gotta get her favorwek I. I said, I see
- 21:22Speaker 1: what she's doing and the people she trying she's trying
- 21:25Speaker 1: to reach. We need to reach them in the first quarter.
- 21:28Speaker 1: We'll fix them now, get him motivated, get their life right.
- 21:31Speaker 1: And so that's what you're doing. You you know, I'm
- 21:33Speaker 1: just I'm so excited talking to you because of the
- 21:36Speaker 1: fact that so happy to reconnect to you, because you know,
- 21:40Speaker 1: I said just to you earlier, I don't network as
- 21:43Speaker 1: well as I should. You know, there's some people that
- 21:45Speaker 1: have the gift of networking, but the way they stay
- 21:47Speaker 1: afloat is they see they stay in contact with all
- 21:51Speaker 1: the movers and shakers, and I'm not as good as that.
- 21:55Speaker 1: I get overwhelmed because I'm busy. I'm one of these people.
- 21:57Speaker 1: I get the trenches and I just start digging a
- 22:00Speaker 1: start network and I look up every once in a while,
- 22:01Speaker 1: like I don't even go to Hollywood parties that much.
- 22:04Speaker 1: I don't network, and so I'm I realized now that
- 22:07Speaker 1: I'm missing I missed years of being able to network
- 22:10Speaker 1: with you. I know how smart you are. I've been
- 22:13Speaker 1: around you and watch the moves you were making, but
- 22:15Speaker 1: I didn't stay connected. And so this is a lesson
- 22:18Speaker 1: for me, a reminder for me. And you talked about
- 22:21Speaker 1: investing in yourself, investing in your time, but one of
- 22:24Speaker 1: the ways you invest in yourself is you stay plugged
- 22:26Speaker 1: in with people who are plugged in in like minded ventures.
- 22:31Speaker 1: And so I don't need to I'll be honest with you.
- 22:34Speaker 1: I don't need to go to the parties with the
- 22:35Speaker 1: reality stars. I can't. It's cute and it's funny and
- 22:39Speaker 1: it's a nice distraction, but it's not where I want
- 22:42Speaker 1: to go. I want to live real reality. My reality
- 22:46Speaker 1: is very different than throwing a drink in a sistem space.
- 22:48Speaker 1: That's not my life. Would I hang out with it,
- 22:51Speaker 1: But I need to be plugged in to people who
- 22:53Speaker 1: are doing work like you. And that's a message to
- 22:56Speaker 1: everyone here. Really surround yourself with the people who are
- 22:59Speaker 1: going to places you want to go. This is what
- 23:00Speaker 1: I are you dropping videos because you're dropping you dropping balls, dimes, missiles, Uh,
- 23:07Speaker 1: you know, aircraft carrying bombs on my show, girl, you're
- 23:11Speaker 1: dropping them on this show. I'm telling you. So, I'm
- 23:13Speaker 1: talking about because you artiiculing you. You're not. You're not
- 23:16Speaker 1: breaking stride. You know all this is the PROMPTU because
- 23:20Speaker 1: you're in your zone or you dropping like sixty second
- 23:23Speaker 1: videos on your social But you got to start doing that. Yeah,
- 23:26Speaker 1: you gotta got to the things are about. We're doing
- 23:31Speaker 1: some things behind the scenes. What you saw was just
- 23:33Speaker 1: me just getting started, and what you see is what
- 23:36Speaker 1: we just be getting started. So the sixty second videos
- 23:39Speaker 1: are coming the the LinkedIn as soon as I get
- 23:41Speaker 1: the ability to go live on LinkedIn. It's over. Yes
- 23:45Speaker 1: it is, Yes, it is. I kid you not, I'm not.
- 23:48Speaker 1: I'm telling you the truth. I'm telling you. See I
- 23:50Speaker 1: see you know, I see Facebook watching your future, young lady.
- 23:53Speaker 1: I'm just letting you know. You know, it's some stuff
- 23:55Speaker 1: out there waiting on you because of the fact that
- 23:58Speaker 1: because because the other thing about it is that everything
- 24:02Speaker 1: in life is transitional, you know, So because I love reason,
- 24:05Speaker 1: I'm so excited about you. Because this is a voice
- 24:08Speaker 1: First of all, it feels very natural. And you've always entertained,
- 24:12Speaker 1: You've always knows how, you always know how to speak,
- 24:14Speaker 1: you know how to control of room. You're not intimitivated
- 24:17Speaker 1: by walking in and seeing thousands of strangers in front
- 24:19Speaker 1: of you. But the fact that you're articulating a support
- 24:23Speaker 1: system for everyday people, that's a blessing. That's a blessing, girl.
- 24:28Speaker 1: And that's what That's why I'm excited. That's why I'm
- 24:30Speaker 1: on the other Any want to just hug you and
- 24:32Speaker 1: shake you and go and just you know, you get
- 24:35Speaker 1: grand somebody just jump around in a circle. Indeed, well,
- 24:42Speaker 1: I see my friends out here. You know, people want
- 24:45Speaker 1: to rub shoulders with the A list and I get it,
- 24:48Speaker 1: and and that has its place. But the truth is
- 24:52Speaker 1: the people that I want to touch. Uh you know,
- 24:55Speaker 1: I'm I'm just a girl from Brooklyn. I made people laugh.
- 24:59Speaker 1: I you know, step my toe. I took a risk
- 25:02Speaker 1: and stepped my toe into this crazy business we call
- 25:05Speaker 1: show business. And now I want to use my platform
- 25:07Speaker 1: in a very broad, delicious, inclusive way. And that's just
- 25:14Speaker 1: my way. Now. You know, it doesn't mean I get
- 25:17Speaker 1: I didn't know was I at the Oscars. No, I
- 25:20Speaker 1: was not at the Oscar, But I don't know if
- 25:22Speaker 1: I don't want to go. Just who wants to sit
- 25:23Speaker 1: up in a in a girdle the whole time? Anyway,
- 25:25Speaker 1: I want to and I wanna. You know, I love
- 25:30Speaker 1: going to speak. You know, people say, people haven't asked me,
- 25:33Speaker 1: you know when you're gonna do another comedy tour. Well,
- 25:35Speaker 1: what I do, Sean, You're gonna like this is I
- 25:38Speaker 1: am still able to scratch my comedy itch when I
- 25:41Speaker 1: go and I speak. So when I speak, when I
- 25:44Speaker 1: do a keynote, I often have taken bits from my
- 25:47Speaker 1: comedy act and I've just adapted them to a speak
- 25:52Speaker 1: to a speaker stage. So I still get the feel
- 25:55Speaker 1: of performing without having to do seventeen shows on a
- 25:59Speaker 1: weekend and hope that the manager gives me my bonus.
- 26:02Speaker 1: You know, you have to deal with you know, drunk hecklers,
- 26:06Speaker 1: you know. And I get paid more because I sell
- 26:09Speaker 1: my goods and products and services at the end. And
- 26:12Speaker 1: I'm not saying that other comedians don't do that, but
- 26:14Speaker 1: most times it's a T shirt or it's a picture.
- 26:17Speaker 1: I'm able to sell my programs that then create change.
- 26:21Speaker 1: After I speak so I still get my comedy fix
- 26:25Speaker 1: and I get to inspire, educate, entertain and and and
- 26:31Speaker 1: um and empower others. Well, you know this is uh,
- 26:34Speaker 1: you know, I'm enjoined this interview, and I hope you're
- 26:36Speaker 1: doing this and joining it as well because of the
- 26:39Speaker 1: fact that we're talking about the possibilities and anybody. And
- 26:44Speaker 1: then I'm a transitional guy and you're a transitional person.
- 26:47Speaker 1: And there's so many everyday people out there who stuck
- 26:50Speaker 1: owned jobs and complaining, stuck in relationships and complaining, worried
- 26:54Speaker 1: about how old they are. I'm for them fifty sixty.
- 26:57Speaker 1: What can I do? I can't change it. I go,
- 27:00Speaker 1: I gotta still on his path. And that's a lie.
- 27:03Speaker 1: And that's all you're saying. Yeah, stop reading a lie,
- 27:07Speaker 1: stop living a lot, and stop being the lie. That's powerful. Well,
- 27:15Speaker 1: you know, here's what I tell folks, and this is
- 27:17Speaker 1: because people aren't looking. They're not looking in the right place.
- 27:21Speaker 1: I think that a lot of people look without they
- 27:24Speaker 1: look out and they go, oh, I'm older than so
- 27:26Speaker 1: and so and so and so, or I've gained too
- 27:27Speaker 1: much weight. So I'm sadter than so and so. I'm
- 27:30Speaker 1: I'm in this job and I don't know how to
- 27:32Speaker 1: get to this. I say, look within. So my thing
- 27:35Speaker 1: is story and the power of story. And when I
- 27:39Speaker 1: look at um my clients stories inside those stories are
- 27:45Speaker 1: jewels and gems and beautiful minds feel full of amazing
- 27:51Speaker 1: nous that can then become your ticket out of the drudgery.
- 27:55Speaker 1: So I call it captivating with your story. Captivate with
- 27:59Speaker 1: your story. All of us have within us stories of
- 28:03Speaker 1: the yummy and the yucky, the ups and the downs,
- 28:05Speaker 1: the things that we've learned, the lived experiences. The other
- 28:09Speaker 1: phrase I love to say is what is everything that
- 28:11Speaker 1: has happened to you has actually happened for you. That
- 28:15Speaker 1: means you have a fresh perspective on the yummy and
- 28:18Speaker 1: the yucky stuff that has happened, You have survived it,
- 28:22Speaker 1: You have uh you know, you are a victor. So
- 28:25Speaker 1: why not use your story to go back and help
- 28:28Speaker 1: other people, to share with others how you came through.
- 28:31Speaker 1: And so those are the things I like to pull
- 28:33Speaker 1: out of people pull out the stories. And these are
- 28:36Speaker 1: your books, these are your speaking engagements, these are your foundations.
- 28:41Speaker 1: There are people who started foundation because they looked at
- 28:43Speaker 1: their story and said, oh my goodness, this is what
- 28:46Speaker 1: I've overcome, or this is what my parents did to
- 28:48Speaker 1: become who they were, and now I want to give
- 28:51Speaker 1: back by sharing the story and bringing people in. And
- 28:56Speaker 1: so those people who are sitting around and going onto
- 28:58Speaker 1: this or I'm not enough that that is within you
- 29:01Speaker 1: live beautiful stories of It's just it's just a matter
- 29:05Speaker 1: of tapping into that and then using those stories to
- 29:09Speaker 1: either a build your confidence and go on about your
- 29:12Speaker 1: business or be build a business. And that's what I
- 29:17Speaker 1: duct my like sweet spot right now. So let's that's
- 29:21Speaker 1: transition right into Captivate with your story, which is the
- 29:24Speaker 1: power story to amplify your or any business. Captivate with
- 29:29Speaker 1: your story, leave with your message. That's another platform. That's
- 29:33Speaker 1: another platform. There's that you have community mastermind, right and
- 29:38Speaker 1: then now you have captivate with your story. Tell us
- 29:41Speaker 1: about that. Yeah, So captivate with your story is just
- 29:45Speaker 1: that it's me teaching the principles of using the power
- 29:50Speaker 1: of story to captivate and connect to build an extraordinary
- 29:54Speaker 1: life and business. So we connect. It is primal in
- 30:00Speaker 1: us to love story. We teach our little ones with story,
- 30:04Speaker 1: we learn from our elders with story. It is it's
- 30:07Speaker 1: how we process. It's how we see ourselves. You know,
- 30:11Speaker 1: when you told when you mentioned at the beginning, you
- 30:13Speaker 1: and I were running around New York, you know, trying
- 30:15Speaker 1: to make it. People can literally visualize themselves at a
- 30:19Speaker 1: time in their life and they were running around trying
- 30:21Speaker 1: to figure something out or making ways and trying to
- 30:24Speaker 1: make things happen. You you put yourself in that person's experience,
- 30:28Speaker 1: even if we never have the experience. And so it's
- 30:30Speaker 1: a powerful way to connect. Comedians who are telling stories
- 30:34Speaker 1: on stage right aren't just telling you their experiences. They're
- 30:38Speaker 1: having you look at the ridiculousness of what they thought
- 30:41Speaker 1: or what they saw, and you to see it and
- 30:44Speaker 1: experience it. And even if you haven't had an experienced
- 30:47Speaker 1: you you you you resonate with it. And so I'm
- 30:50Speaker 1: I'm helping people to use their story to help them
- 30:53Speaker 1: to resonate with the people that they want to share
- 30:56Speaker 1: their message and their mission with. And it's about visibility,
- 31:00Speaker 1: t It's about creating impact and becoming more profitable just
- 31:04Speaker 1: by using what you already have. So Rabbian putting up
- 31:08Speaker 1: an Instagram post that they's by my bundles of hair,
- 31:11Speaker 1: you're blaming why you got the hair business to begin with,
- 31:15Speaker 1: maybe you're an auntie of yours had alopecia. She was
- 31:18Speaker 1: so embarrassed that her hair wasn't growing or whatever it is,
- 31:21Speaker 1: and so you wanted to create beautiful wigs or you know,
- 31:25Speaker 1: something to to make her feel like, I don't know,
- 31:27Speaker 1: you know whatever. It is. Creating an engagement, creating that relationship.
- 31:30Speaker 1: That's what you're saying. A story can sell a long
- 31:34Speaker 1: time versus because everybody got hair. Everybody got hair. But
- 31:38Speaker 1: why are you engaged? Why is it important that you
- 31:41Speaker 1: should be You should come to me as a customer,
- 31:44Speaker 1: Tell me, tell your story. Your story sells a lot.
- 31:46Speaker 1: You know, a single mall, you know, uh, a person
- 31:49Speaker 1: who's in college, or some birds who's trying to change
- 31:52Speaker 1: their life, their life and they've been working a job
- 31:55Speaker 1: that they don't like and this is their opportunity to
- 31:57Speaker 1: break out. And they because I've known this is that
- 32:00Speaker 1: you know right now represents Steven A. Smith. And one
- 32:03Speaker 1: of the things he's he's an HPCU graduate. You know,
- 32:06Speaker 1: he's he was held back in grade school and he's
- 32:10Speaker 1: he tells that story and people relate to that. And
- 32:15Speaker 1: so what happens in business People need to understand is
- 32:17Speaker 1: that relate to it. You can you can look, you
- 32:19Speaker 1: can tell that like the Super Bowl commerce. One of
- 32:21Speaker 1: the most popular Super Bowl commercials was the Google commercial
- 32:24Speaker 1: and the guy was talking about talking about his back
- 32:27Speaker 1: in the day when he was remembering everything. That was
- 32:30Speaker 1: a story to an emotion that they was tapping into.
- 32:34Speaker 1: And that's what you were talking about in your story.
- 32:37Speaker 1: Tell the story that's relatable to many and also will
- 32:41Speaker 1: engage conversation. That is a beautiful message. Kim Cole's thank you.
- 32:49Speaker 1: You know I created something that I can give every
- 32:51Speaker 1: one of your listeners. It's free. That's one of the
- 32:55Speaker 1: first questions I get was, I don't know if I
- 32:56Speaker 1: have a story, but I don't have any stories. They
- 32:59Speaker 1: also say, how do to tell my story? About telling
- 33:01Speaker 1: all my business? And there's a way to do that too.
- 33:03Speaker 1: But I have a free gift for everybody listening, and
- 33:06Speaker 1: it's you just go to www dot do. We still
- 33:10Speaker 1: say all the w side, I do, I do, I'm country,
- 33:13Speaker 1: I do. Come on now. Story with Kim dot com.
- 33:19Speaker 1: Story with Kim dot com. And that would give you
- 33:22Speaker 1: a little mini core that I have that I give
- 33:25Speaker 1: people some of my favorite story pumps that will get
- 33:28Speaker 1: you thinking about and remembering stories that you haven't thought
- 33:32Speaker 1: about for years, and then we can talk about how
- 33:35Speaker 1: to then connect it to what you want to do.
- 33:38Speaker 1: Do you want to write a book? Do you want
- 33:39Speaker 1: to become a speaker? Do you want to connect this? Uh? Sneeze?
- 33:49Speaker 1: How do I get to sneeze in the middle of
- 33:51Speaker 1: the interview? You know? And youndo too, you know, as
- 33:54Speaker 1: you would leave. That's like the minister about the call
- 33:56Speaker 1: everybody to the altar and just start coughing. I want
- 34:01Speaker 1: you to come and meet. I mean, spirit is really
- 34:09Speaker 1: coming in now. It's all about connecting your story to
- 34:15Speaker 1: everything else that you want to do. And I feel
- 34:17Speaker 1: that story is the foundation. So if I give you
- 34:19Speaker 1: this free many course, it will get you really thinking
- 34:22Speaker 1: about what stories are already inside of you, and then
- 34:25Speaker 1: I have a way to get a contact meet you
- 34:27Speaker 1: want to work further. So it's why don't you pretent free?
- 34:29Speaker 1: I have little videos, I have worksheets for you, and

- 34:47Speaker 1: I'm gonna start liking your posts so you can get
- 34:49Speaker 1: in my timeline. I'm just telling you, kim Um, you're
- 34:53Speaker 1: you're such a breath of fresh air. Secondly, as you
- 34:56Speaker 1: and I know talent, my dear you, we'll be back
- 35:00Speaker 1: on TV doing this. You you, this is, this is,
- 35:06Speaker 1: this is who you are. You know we can we
- 35:08Speaker 1: can go through life and say, oh, she's a great
- 35:10Speaker 1: comedic actress. So she's so entertaining. But like you said,
- 35:13Speaker 1: for sure, I still entertained when I delivered my message.
- 35:16Speaker 1: I deliver a little sugar with the salt and all
- 35:18Speaker 1: that good stuff. And so that is I'm just hearing

- 36:04Speaker 1: get what you put out, and I think the energy
- 36:06Speaker 1: that you put out, there's a difference between the bob
- 36:09Speaker 1: and head information and you know, clutching your pearls information
- 36:12Speaker 1: like oh no, she didn't say that, and so um that.
- 36:17Speaker 1: I just want to stay in the place of joy
- 36:19Speaker 1: and love and possibilities, and I see that in other people,
