Latest / The Ben Ferguson Podcast / New Poll Shows Americans WANT Mass Deportation of Illegal Immigrants
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: I can't believe I'm going to actually get to say this.
- 0:03Speaker 1: It's exciting news, and it's exciting for law and order
- 0:07Speaker 1: in this country. A new poll is out, and it
- 0:10Speaker 1: is a poll that says now that Americans are warming
- 0:15Speaker 1: to the idea of mass deportations. That's right. The shaf
- 0:21Speaker 1: of Americans who say they support mass deportations of undocumented
- 0:25Speaker 1: immigrants is now a majority, with fifty one percent now
- 0:30Speaker 1: saying they want mass deportation of illegal immigrants. What's even
- 0:35Speaker 1: more interesting than that is that forty five percent of
- 0:39Speaker 1: Latinos now say they want mass deportations. That number coming
- 0:45Speaker 1: up significantly also among African Americans. Forty percent of African
- 0:51Speaker 1: Americans now say they support mass deportation of illegal immigrants.
- 0:56Speaker 1: What's also interesting is the breakdown by generation. The boomers,
- 1:01Speaker 1: for example, sixty percent of Boomers say they're ready for
- 1:05Speaker 1: mass deportations of illegals. Gen X fifty three percent say
- 1:09Speaker 1: they're in favor of mass deportations, Millennials forty eight percent.
- 1:14Speaker 1: And the only people that are really not on board
- 1:16Speaker 1: at this point are gen Z, the young, woke liberal.
- 1:21Speaker 1: I wouldn't even say democrats, socialists, and communists thirty five percent. Now,
- 1:26Speaker 1: let's go back to the general public. More than half
- 1:29Speaker 1: of Americans, including now, and this is the most important
- 1:32Speaker 1: part of this poll, forty two percent of Democrats say
- 1:36Speaker 1: that they support it. Now, how did the Democratic Party
- 1:39Speaker 1: move this quickly to forty two percent of Democrats saying
- 1:43Speaker 1: they're in favor of mass deportations of illegal immigrants. Well,
- 1:47Speaker 1: they're witnessing what's happening this country with the rising cost
- 1:50Speaker 1: of living, homes, apartments, and jobs being taken by illegal immigrants.
- 1:57Speaker 1: They're also witnessing something else, the violent, the fetnyl, the drugs,
- 2:02Speaker 1: and cartel and gang abuse of the people in this country.
- 2:07Speaker 1: And that's why you're seeing forty two percent of Democrats
- 2:09Speaker 1: now say they support mass deportations of undocumented immigrants. According
- 2:14Speaker 1: to this new Axio survey by the Harris Pole, thirty
- 2:19Speaker 1: percent of Democrats as well as forty six percent of
- 2:22Speaker 1: Republicans now say they'd in birthright citizenship as well. That
- 2:27Speaker 1: is something that's guaranteed under the fourteenth Amendment of the Constitution.
- 2:31Speaker 1: So if you get across the border, you pop out
- 2:33Speaker 1: a baby, bam, you are a citizen of the United
- 2:36Speaker 1: States of America. Why does this matter, Well, It's pretty simple.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Americans are now open to former President Trump's harshest immigration policies,
- 2:47Speaker 1: spurred on by a record number of illegal border crossings
- 2:52Speaker 1: and relentless messaging of the problems that are happening now
- 2:57Speaker 1: all over the country as every state is basically now
- 2:59Speaker 1: become a border state. See before, the president's harshest immigration
- 3:04Speaker 1: plans were not well received by the majority of Americans
- 3:08Speaker 1: because they weren't having to live with the same consequences
- 3:11Speaker 1: that border states were having to live with. That is
- 3:14Speaker 1: now changed, and that's exactly why it is flipped. In fact,
- 3:19Speaker 1: they say President Biden is keenly aware the crisis threatens
- 3:22Speaker 1: his reelection. Internal discussions have also revealed quote he sought
- 3:28Speaker 1: to flip the script by accusing Trump of sabotaging Congress's
- 3:33Speaker 1: most conservative bipartisan immigration bill in decades, saying it's his
- 3:39Speaker 1: fault that we have an open border. The problem is
- 3:42Speaker 1: those lines are not working on the American people because
- 3:45Speaker 1: they saw what a secure border looked like under President Trump.
- 3:49Speaker 1: There's also something else that's changing, and we're seeing this
- 3:52Speaker 1: in the polling as well. It is the issue of
- 3:54Speaker 1: national security. Americans are very concerned now about a real
- 3:59Speaker 1: threat of and we've also seen this real threat of
- 4:03Speaker 1: terrorism and the idea that we could be hit. There
- 4:07Speaker 1: are warnings that are coming very very clearly now from
- 4:11Speaker 1: the FBI Director. The FBI director to that NBC interview,
- 4:16Speaker 1: an exclusive interview about terrorism in this country and the
- 4:19Speaker 1: threat of terrorism in this country. Here is what he
- 4:22Speaker 1: had to say. And Americans are listening.
- 4:25Speaker 2: From an FBI perspective, we are seeing a wide array
- 4:29Speaker 2: of very dangerous threats that emanate from the border. There
- 4:32Speaker 2: is a particular network that has where some of the
- 4:37Speaker 2: overseas facilitators of the smuggling network have ISIS ties that
- 4:41Speaker 2: we're very concerned about.
- 4:44Speaker 1: To be clear, the FBI director has just warned the
- 4:47Speaker 1: American people about ties to ISIS and the real threat
- 4:51Speaker 1: in this country. Now, that's not the only threat. He
- 4:53Speaker 1: also is talking about another threat, and that is coming
- 4:56Speaker 1: from China. He's very concerned about the Chinese nowtionals coming
- 5:00Speaker 1: across our southern border. That is also not the only
- 5:04Speaker 1: thing he's concerned about. He also said he's concerned about
- 5:07Speaker 1: the fetanyl that's coming across the southern border, the drugs
- 5:11Speaker 1: that are coming across, and the number one killer in
- 5:14Speaker 1: this country right now. The number one thing that's killing
- 5:18Speaker 1: people forty and under and they say that number is
- 5:20Speaker 1: going to jump now to forty five and under is fetanyl.
- 5:24Speaker 1: And where's that coming straight across the southern border. This
- 5:29Speaker 1: is a concern of the American people. The American people
- 5:32Speaker 1: are very concerned that this is going to affect their
- 5:35Speaker 1: family directly, because it's affecting many of their families and
- 5:39Speaker 1: their friends right and they're seeing people that are dying
- 5:42Speaker 1: from accidental overdoses. They call it drug poisoning, is the
- 5:46Speaker 1: way they describe it. And the reason why they call
- 5:48Speaker 1: it drug poisoning is because people are taking something that
- 5:52Speaker 1: they have no intent of dying from. They're not trying
- 5:55Speaker 1: to get high off of fetanyl, and they take too
- 5:59Speaker 1: much and they're referring to it as drug poisoning. Now,
- 6:02Speaker 1: let's go back. When you add that in to this
- 6:06Speaker 1: data that we now have from this poll, what we
- 6:10Speaker 1: also know is this, not only is President Biden concerned
- 6:14Speaker 1: about this, but the Democratic Party is trying to figure
- 6:17Speaker 1: out their messaging heading into this presidential election. So far,
- 6:22Speaker 1: when it comes to blame, Biden has failed to shift
- 6:25Speaker 1: the narrative. In fact, only thirty two percent of responding
- 6:28Speaker 1: says administration is most responsible for the crisis, outranking any
- 6:33Speaker 1: other political or structural factor. In other words, they're not
- 6:37Speaker 1: blaming the voter's Congress, they're not blaming Donald Trump, they're
- 6:41Speaker 1: not blaming Republicans. They're blaming Joe Biden because they clearly
- 6:46Speaker 1: understand that Joe Biden's a one that created this wide
- 6:49Speaker 1: open southern border that has terrorists and fetnol and everything
- 6:52Speaker 1: else coming across the border. There's also something else, voters
- 6:57Speaker 1: say that now they understand the record number borders, they understand.
- 7:01Speaker 1: In fact, nearly two thirds of Americans said legal immigration
- 7:05Speaker 1: is a quote real crisis, not a political driven media narrative.
- 7:10Speaker 1: So they're witnessing it, they're seeing it and they're understanding
- 7:14Speaker 1: what it's doing in their community's firsthand. Now that is
- 7:17Speaker 1: different than what it was four years ago. Now what
- 7:21Speaker 1: they're saying, quote, I was surprised at the public support
- 7:26Speaker 1: for large scale deportations. That's what Mark Penn, the chairman
- 7:30Speaker 1: of the Harris Pole and a former poster for President Clinton,
- 7:34Speaker 1: said in response to this news pole, saying, I'm surprised.
- 7:38Speaker 1: I'm not by the way now, I didn't think we
- 7:41Speaker 1: were going to get there this quickly. I thought people
- 7:44Speaker 1: were starting to turn, but they're turning a lot faster
- 7:46Speaker 1: than even I realized. And this is a blessing because
- 7:50Speaker 1: people are now understanding what wide open borders look like. Quote.
- 7:55Speaker 1: I think they're just sending a message to politicians, get
- 7:58Speaker 1: this under control, the poster said, calling it a warning
- 8:02Speaker 1: to Biden his administration, and that efforts to shift responsibility
- 8:07Speaker 1: for the issue to Trump is not going to work.
- 8:10Speaker 1: So that also tells me this. The Biden White House
- 8:15Speaker 1: has to be in freak out mode right now. And
- 8:18Speaker 1: the reason why they're in freakout mode is because their
- 8:20Speaker 1: simple plan, which was, well, this is Donald Trump's fault,
- 8:23Speaker 1: or this is the Republican's fault, or this is all
- 8:27Speaker 1: the problem of Republicans in Congress. We didn't create this crisis.
- 8:34Speaker 1: The American people, including Democrats, aren't buying it. A large
- 8:39Speaker 1: number of independents are not buying it, and we already
- 8:43Speaker 1: know that Republicans have not been buying it for quite
- 8:47Speaker 1: some time. I want to dive into this polling number
- 8:52Speaker 1: even more and get down to what I think the
- 8:55Speaker 1: other issues within this poll are going to tell us
- 8:58Speaker 1: come election day. Trump number one has vowed to carry out,
- 9:03Speaker 1: as he described his words, the largest domestic deportation operation
- 9:08Speaker 1: in American history, eyeing sweeping raids as well as detention
- 9:13Speaker 1: camps in a plan that would target millions and millions
- 9:17Speaker 1: of undocumented immigrants aka illegal immigrants. Now, Americans typically aren't
- 9:23Speaker 1: eager to deport immigrants who have put down roots in
- 9:26Speaker 1: the US, but this poll of six two hundred and
- 9:30Speaker 1: fifty one US adults suggested that the dynamic is changing
- 9:36Speaker 1: because of specifically two things. Rising fear about crime, drugs,
- 9:43Speaker 1: and violence. Donald Trump has been clear that those fears
- 9:47Speaker 1: are warranted. He is campaigning on it, making it very
- 9:52Speaker 1: clear that there is in fact a migrant crime wave.
- 9:54Speaker 1: No matter how much the Democratic Party of the news
- 9:57Speaker 1: tries to tell you that it is a false claim
- 10:00Speaker 1: claim that there's a migrant crime wave, we know it's
- 10:03Speaker 1: just not true. We also have more blunt language from
- 10:07Speaker 1: Donald Trump declaring that immigrants are quote poisoning the blood
- 10:12Speaker 1: of our country. Now, when he said that, what did
- 10:15Speaker 1: the left of the media do. They freaked out and
- 10:17Speaker 1: they're like, Oh, that's racist, that's that's racist. See, Donald
- 10:20Speaker 1: Trump's a racist, He's a racist. Well, guess what the
- 10:23Speaker 1: majority of Hispanic voters in this country agree with Donald Trump.
- 10:28Speaker 1: When asked to identify the greatest concern around illegal immigration,
- 10:34Speaker 1: Americans most frequently cited increased crime rates, drugs, and violence
- 10:40Speaker 1: of the number one issue when it comes to legal
- 10:42Speaker 1: immigration twenty one percent, saying that is the main concern
- 10:47Speaker 1: for them. Then number two and a very close second
- 10:52Speaker 1: is this. It's the economy, stupid, right. It's the additional
- 10:56Speaker 1: cost to taxpayers, not only to take care of the immigrants,
- 11:01Speaker 1: but the rising costs for Americans who are now having
- 11:04Speaker 1: to compete with tens of millions of illegal immigrants for apartments,
- 11:09Speaker 1: for housing, for hotels, for basic jobs. The list goes
- 11:14Speaker 1: on and on, and then the third issue. And I
- 11:17Speaker 1: want you to understand how close all these are. So
- 11:20Speaker 1: the point I'm making is usually in a poll, if
- 11:24Speaker 1: you have one thing that people kind of say is
- 11:26Speaker 1: the number one reason, it's well above number two, and
- 11:30Speaker 1: usually it's way above number three. That is not the
- 11:34Speaker 1: case in this new poll. Number three on the list
- 11:37Speaker 1: just one point below the additional cost of taxpayers eighteen percent, right,
- 11:42Speaker 1: which was just three points below number one issue, which
- 11:46Speaker 1: was increased crime rates, drugs and violence at seventeen percent. Okay,
- 11:52Speaker 1: seventeen percent of voters said their greatest concern was the
- 11:55Speaker 1: quote risk of terrorism and national security. So again look
- 12:01Speaker 1: at the data increase crime, drugs, and violence. Voters that
- 12:06Speaker 1: identified that as are great concerned. Twenty one percent of
- 12:09Speaker 1: responding said that was it eighteen percent. Second place, the
- 12:13Speaker 1: additional cost of taxpayers, I mean, that's really close to
- 12:15Speaker 1: twenty one percent, and then the risk of terrorism and
- 12:17Speaker 1: national security issues at seventeen percent, right below eighteen percent
- 12:22Speaker 1: is in third place. Tells you that depending on basically
- 12:27Speaker 1: where you live, this is a big issue to you.
- 12:30Speaker 1: It just may be that the issue within the issue
- 12:34Speaker 1: is a little different. Let me break that down so
- 12:35Speaker 1: you understand my point. If you are in Texas, if
- 12:39Speaker 1: you're in New Mexico, if you're in Arizona, if you're
- 12:42Speaker 1: at a border state, you're probably going to be at drugs, crime,
- 12:46Speaker 1: and violence. Right. That's going to be a large part
- 12:48Speaker 1: of your response because it's so significant. You're also going
- 12:52Speaker 1: to respond to a lot of you that the risk
- 12:54Speaker 1: of terrorism and national security because you're seeing the violence
- 12:57Speaker 1: that's coming across the border, and you're hearing a lot
- 13:00Speaker 1: about those on the tariffs watch lists that are being
- 13:02Speaker 1: caught at record numbers. Now at number two. This is
- 13:06Speaker 1: I would argue Middle America to other places like New
- 13:10Speaker 1: York City or Baltimore, Detroit, or San Francisco. The list
- 13:13Speaker 1: goes on and on, more liberal places, not directly on
- 13:16Speaker 1: the border where the taxpayers right are starting to witness
- 13:21Speaker 1: what's happening with their tax dollars being used. Colorado, for example,
- 13:26Speaker 1: in Denver is a great point. They're having to divert
- 13:29Speaker 1: services because they're running out of money to take care
- 13:32Speaker 1: of the illegal immigrants that have overrun Denver. And so
- 13:36Speaker 1: if you're there, you're probably going to be in this
- 13:38Speaker 1: eighteen percent that say, hey, this is a real additional
- 13:41Speaker 1: cost to me as a taxpayer, and I don't like it.
- 13:44Speaker 1: So let's stand back for a second and look at
- 13:48Speaker 1: this from an election year issue. There are a lot
- 13:51Speaker 1: of Americans who believe that immigrants are receiving more and
- 13:54Speaker 1: welfare and benefits than they should, and that's a problem.
- 13:59Speaker 1: There are a lot of Americans that believe that illegal
- 14:02Speaker 1: immigrants are also a direct link to the spiking of
- 14:06Speaker 1: US crime rates. Now, these are the issues that Americans
- 14:12Speaker 1: are now turning on Biden on. You look at the
- 14:15Speaker 1: big picture here. The surveys still found Americans strongly support
- 14:20Speaker 1: immigration to America and this is the compassionate aspect of
- 14:25Speaker 1: America as long as it is done lawfully. That is
- 14:29Speaker 1: something that conservatives have been championing. That something that Donald
- 14:32Speaker 1: Trump has been championing. I'm in favor of legal immigration.
- 14:36Speaker 1: I am not in favor of people bum rushing the
- 14:39Speaker 1: southern border coming across and then I have to take
- 14:42Speaker 1: care of them. I'm not okay with that. And the
- 14:44Speaker 1: majority of Americans now are saying that they agree with
- 14:48Speaker 1: that idea. We want to support immigration as long as
- 14:51Speaker 1: it's lawful. Illegal immigration is what's giving people anxiety in
- 14:55Speaker 1: this country. We did not have that four years ago
- 14:58Speaker 1: when Donald Trump was running against Joe Biden. This is
- 15:01Speaker 1: completely flip flopped in the last three years three and
- 15:04Speaker 1: a half years. Also, fifty eight percent said they support
- 15:09Speaker 1: expanding legal pathways for orderly immigration. Forty six percent said
- 15:15Speaker 1: asylum seekers should be protected if their cases are legitimate. Again,
- 15:21Speaker 1: this goes back to the American people. We are compassionate
- 15:23Speaker 1: and loving and kind, but it doesn't mean you just
- 15:26Speaker 1: get to come in and break the law. By the
- 15:28Speaker 1: twenty million people, right, that's where we're saying no. Sixty
- 15:33Speaker 1: eight percent also in this poll said illegal immigration causes
- 15:36Speaker 1: major problems in communities, Yes, sixty eight percent. Only twenty
- 15:42Speaker 1: seven percent said the same about legal immigration. So again translation,
- 15:46Speaker 1: do it the right way and we're fine with it.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Do it the illegal way, We're not okay with it.
- 15:52Speaker 1: And sixty five percent of Americans think the US should
- 15:55Speaker 1: make it easier for anyone seeking a better life to
- 15:58Speaker 1: interlegally so they don't have to enter illegally. Now, that
- 16:02Speaker 1: is something that I think is an very important data
- 16:06Speaker 1: point for this upcoming election. The Republicans that are running
- 16:10Speaker 1: need to talk about this in a very compassionate way.
- 16:15Speaker 1: We need to say those that put themselves ahead of
- 16:17Speaker 1: others that are doing the right way should be deported,
- 16:20Speaker 1: They should not get to stay. And I think if
- 16:22Speaker 1: you frame it that way, we're going to have a
- 16:24Speaker 1: much better chance of getting moderates and undecided and Democrats
- 16:29Speaker 1: to come over to our way of thinking on this,
- 16:32Speaker 1: because it is compassionate to say, look, we don't want
- 16:35Speaker 1: anybody to come in this country I legally, who also
- 16:37Speaker 1: is jumping the line on those that are trying to
- 16:39Speaker 1: come in this country legally. That is a compassionate stance
- 16:43Speaker 1: that we as conservatives unfortunately have lost as a very
- 16:48Speaker 1: important point that needs to be made over and over again.
- 16:51Speaker 1: We're talking about this issue because it's obvious that the
- 16:54Speaker 1: majority of the American people are not saying no to immigration.
- 16:58Speaker 1: They're now saying no to illegal immigration. And that is
- 17:01Speaker 1: a very very very very very big difference. Okay, So
- 17:05Speaker 1: so that that right there at number one, just so
- 17:08Speaker 1: you understand it. Number two on this and another data
- 17:13Speaker 1: point that that people really need to understand. The trade
- 17:17Speaker 1: off here in this poll is people will take would
- 17:21Speaker 1: take expanded legal immigration if they saw there's a crackdown
- 17:26Speaker 1: on the border. Now what we've seen so far from
- 17:31Speaker 1: Joe Biden, that's out of the question. Because the Democratic
- 17:34Speaker 1: Party is trying to import voters, they're trying to fundamentally
- 17:39Speaker 1: change this country, and they believe that as many as
- 17:42Speaker 1: they can get across the border between now and whenever
- 17:44Speaker 1: the border is finally secured or closed, or however you
- 17:48Speaker 1: want to describe it, that they will they will at
- 17:51Speaker 1: some point just basically force that you're going to give
- 17:56Speaker 1: them amnesty. And what the American people are saying is no,
- 18:00Speaker 1: we're not going to just give up amnesty that quick.
- 18:04Speaker 1: We're not just gonna throw amnesty out there to twenty
- 18:08Speaker 1: plus million illegal immigrants have come to this country. So again,
- 18:14Speaker 1: if I'm advising any candidate, including Donald Trump, you have
- 18:18Speaker 1: to stand for law and order number one and number
- 18:21Speaker 1: two from this data, you have to have compassion and
- 18:24Speaker 1: say we are in favor of legal immigration. We are
- 18:29Speaker 1: advocates for legal immigration. We are not when it comes
- 18:35Speaker 1: to illegal immigrants flooding the border. All right, I want
- 18:40Speaker 1: to move to another important issue, and that is these
- 18:43Speaker 1: college campuses and the anti Semitic remarks that we're seeing
- 18:47Speaker 1: on college campuses. Elam Omar is supporting the pro genocide
- 18:52Speaker 1: students at Columbia. We've now been told that for the
- 18:55Speaker 1: rest of the of the this year, basically the calendar
- 18:57Speaker 1: year up until graduation, they're going online learning at Columbia
- 19:03Speaker 1: because the University of Colombia has lost total control of
- 19:06Speaker 1: their campus and is complete another chaos. Now we also
- 19:09Speaker 1: know who's behind paying for these violent and extremist events.
- 19:15Speaker 1: I'm going to have that for you in a second,
- 19:16Speaker 1: but I want you to hear what alamo Mar says
- 19:19Speaker 1: about the Jewish students at Columbia university. This is a
- 19:22Speaker 1: member of the United States Congress.
- 19:24Speaker 3: Listen carefully, how do you think this will translate to
- 19:27Speaker 3: the Jewish students who are facing anti summatism.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Here on campus. So I actually met a lot of.
- 19:31Speaker 4: Jewish students that are in the encampments, and I think
- 19:35Speaker 4: it is really unfortunate that people don't care about the
- 19:39Speaker 4: fact that all Jewish kids should be kept safe.
- 19:43Speaker 5: And that we should not have to tolerate anti semitism
- 19:47Speaker 5: or bigotry for all Jewish students, whether they are pro
- 19:51Speaker 5: genocide or anti genocide.
- 19:54Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I think it's really unfortunate that people don't
- 19:57Speaker 1: care about the fact that all Jewish kids should be
- 20:00Speaker 1: kept safe. And then she says, I just got to
- 20:05Speaker 1: read this correctly. We should not have to tolerate anti
- 20:10Speaker 1: semitism or bigotry for all Jewish students, whether they are
- 20:13Speaker 1: pro genocide or anti genocide. So lalm Mar just said
- 20:18Speaker 1: that Jewish students at Columbia should be protected even if
- 20:22Speaker 1: they are pro genocide. Did you hear that. I actually
- 20:29Speaker 1: met a lot of Jewish students, she says, that are
- 20:31Speaker 1: in the encampments. I don't believe that, and I think
- 20:34Speaker 1: it's really unfortunate that people don't care about the fact
- 20:36Speaker 1: that all Jewish kids should be kept safe. So the
- 20:39Speaker 1: Jewish kids are in the encampment that are pro genocide
- 20:42Speaker 1: killing all Jews, and they're Jewish, she's claiming, she's saying, well,
- 20:46Speaker 1: they should be protected. This is a member of the
- 20:49Speaker 1: United States Congress who is out there saying this right now,
- 20:55Speaker 1: and she's walking around campus. Now. This is completely different
- 21:01Speaker 1: than what Mike Johnson had to say. Speaker of the
- 21:04Speaker 1: House went to Columbia University to look these radical anti
- 21:10Speaker 1: semits who want to go back to Hitler, the time
- 21:13Speaker 1: of Hitler in World War Two and get rid of
- 21:16Speaker 1: all the Jews. I'm glad that the Speaker of the
- 21:18Speaker 1: House went by the way he should have gone and
- 21:21Speaker 1: said very clearly, we are not going to stand for this.
- 21:25Speaker 1: These universities should be held accountable for what they are
- 21:29Speaker 1: doing right now. And what Johnson said at Columbia University,
- 21:34Speaker 1: and you can hear the kids in the background screaming
- 21:37Speaker 1: and yelling at him, is something that every elected official
- 21:41Speaker 1: should be saying. Unfortunately, it is not what is being
- 21:46Speaker 1: said at all in this country because of people like
- 21:49Speaker 1: Olama mar and others that are sitting there. Take a listen.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Let me say this very simply.
- 21:56Speaker 6: No American of any color or creed should ever have
- 21:59Speaker 6: to live under those kinds of threats. That is not
- 22:02Speaker 6: who we are in this country. Sadly, Columbia's administrators have
- 22:07Speaker 6: chosen to let the threats, the fear, and the intimidation
- 22:11Speaker 6: of the mob rule to overtake American principles like free
- 22:15Speaker 6: speech and the free free exchange of ideas and the
- 22:18Speaker 6: free exercise of religion. They have co opted First Amendment
- 22:22Speaker 6: arguments to protect genocide and to elevate the voices of
- 22:27Speaker 6: anti Semitism. They have proven themselves to be incapable of
- 22:31Speaker 6: achieving their basic responsibility, which is keeping students safe. We
- 22:37Speaker 6: just can't allow this kind of hatred and anti semitism
- 22:39Speaker 6: to flourish on our campuses, and it must be stopped
- 22:42Speaker 6: in its tracks. Those who are perpetrating this violence should
- 22:45Speaker 6: be arrested. And I'm here today. I am here today
- 22:50Speaker 6: joining my colleagues and calling on President Shaffik to resign
- 22:54Speaker 6: if she cannot immediately bring order to this chaos. A
- 23:00Speaker 6: Speaker of the House, I am committing today that the
- 23:02Speaker 6: Congress will not be silent as Jewish students are expected
- 23:06Speaker 6: to run for their lives and stay home from their classes,
- 23:09Speaker 6: hiding in fear. In the House of Representatives, We've already
- 23:13Speaker 6: acted to address anti.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Semitism on campuses.
- 23:16Speaker 6: We have passed a number of statutes to address this matter,
- 23:18Speaker 6: and we call upon the US Senate to act upon
- 23:21Speaker 6: our legislation.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Now, Johnson immediately taking massive heat for calling for a
- 23:30Speaker 1: president of the university that's lost total control of her campus,
- 23:33Speaker 1: that is not keeping Jewish students safe, and has also
- 23:37Speaker 1: been pretty clear that she's not a big fan of
- 23:40Speaker 1: the Jewish people. So when Johnson said this, he was
- 23:45Speaker 1: immediately challenged. Right, Aaron Burnett Overage CNN gets in the
- 23:50Speaker 1: speaker's face, Well, hold on, mister speaker, why do you
- 23:54Speaker 1: need to get involved in the removal of a president
- 23:56Speaker 1: of a private university? Listen to this.
- 23:59Speaker 3: Is there anything is Well could do that would be
- 24:01Speaker 3: over the line for you, because when you talk about
- 24:03Speaker 3: stamping it out, I mean many innocent children have died
- 24:07Speaker 3: and are dying at Israel's hands and the idea they have.
- 24:12Speaker 7: There have been civilians murdered, but that is not the
- 24:14Speaker 7: fault of Israel. It's the fault of the terrorists, the
- 24:16Speaker 7: Hamas operators and soldiers, the terrorists who have used these
- 24:21Speaker 7: people and put them into harm's way. Israel, I'm convinced,
- 24:26Speaker 7: is doing its very best to prevent civilian casualties. But
- 24:28Speaker 7: this is a war and they're fighting for their very existence,
- 24:31Speaker 7: and they are not the aggressors. It is the other side.
- 24:34Speaker 7: Some of the people here seem not to understand that,
- 24:36Speaker 7: and I think that's a real problem. We can debate
- 24:38Speaker 7: the merits of all these things, but what they're doing
- 24:41Speaker 7: here is intimidating Jewish students. That's the thing that is
- 24:44Speaker 7: so problematic, all right, So let.
- 24:46Speaker 3: Me ask you about that, because when it comes to that,
- 24:47Speaker 3: the NYPD, at least as of Monday, said they've not
- 24:50Speaker 3: received a single call from Columbia University of reports of
- 24:54Speaker 3: any physical harm.
- 24:55Speaker 7: Well, no physical harm, right, But you have to speak
- 24:58Speaker 7: to these Jewish students who are in their lives, who
- 25:00Speaker 7: are cowering in their apartments right now, who are not
- 25:03Speaker 7: coming to class. In fact, the administration recognized the threat
- 25:06Speaker 7: was so great they canceled classes. Now they've come out
- 25:09Speaker 7: with this hybrid idea. Well, if you're Jewish, maybe you
- 25:11Speaker 7: do want to stay at home. Maybe it'd be better
- 25:13Speaker 7: off for you. But it's so discriminatory, it's so wrong
- 25:15Speaker 7: in every way. The responsibility of a university administrator is
- 25:19Speaker 7: to keep peace on campus and ensure the safety of
- 25:22Speaker 7: students job number one. If they're uncapable of doing that,
- 25:25Speaker 7: then you need different leadership. I think this is time
- 25:28Speaker 7: for a really strong hand.
- 25:29Speaker 3: I'm trying to understand, though, why a Speaker of the House,
- 25:31Speaker 3: this is an issue you would want to get involved with.
- 25:34Speaker 3: It's a private university, it's an issue happening here. Why
- 25:37Speaker 3: is this something that you are choosing to get involved
- 25:39Speaker 3: in and calling for the removal of a president.
- 25:41Speaker 6: Of a private university.
- 25:42Speaker 7: Well, they receive federal funding as well, and Congress is
- 25:46Speaker 7: looking at all of these aspects to determine how they're
- 25:48Speaker 7: using those funds. Is that appropriate if they can't fulfill
- 25:52Speaker 7: their basic obligations. I don't think the American taxpayers want
- 25:55Speaker 7: to be funding this kind of thing. We know that
- 25:57Speaker 7: professors are engaging in this as well. Some of the
- 26:00Speaker 7: professors some have been supportive of the Jewish students, But
- 26:03Speaker 7: I believe it's a small subset for what I've told.
- 26:06Speaker 7: They've allowed this to go on, and it is not
- 26:08Speaker 7: okay with the American people. This isn't a part is
- 26:11Speaker 7: an issue. This is about right and wrong and we
- 26:13Speaker 7: got to call it for what it is.
- 26:14Speaker 3: And so when people talk about genocide and say that
- 26:17Speaker 3: Israel is engaging in genocide, do you think that that
- 26:21Speaker 3: is a legitimate conversation that they should be allowed to
- 26:23Speaker 3: have as part of First Amendment rights here?
- 26:25Speaker 7: Well, of course, Look, I was a First Amendment lawyer
- 26:28Speaker 7: for twenty years. I went to the courts and defended
- 26:31Speaker 7: our First Amendment freedoms, religious expression, the writer, free speech
- 26:34Speaker 7: on campus. I litigated those cases. Of course, the university
- 26:37Speaker 7: is supposed to be the free marketplace of ideas. But
- 26:40Speaker 7: when you shout down and physically threaten with intimidation and
- 26:44Speaker 7: threats of violence at the other side, that is not
- 26:47Speaker 7: a peaceful expression, peaceful exchange of ideas. That's something very different,
- 26:52Speaker 7: and that's what we're saying they need to get control
- 26:54Speaker 7: of when they camp out around the campus and they
- 26:56Speaker 7: prevent students from exercising their rights, that's the problem.
- 27:00Speaker 1: By the way, the way that he described that is
- 27:02Speaker 1: why he should be involved. Spot on. There's also one
- 27:05Speaker 1: other part of this, and it's about the funding, and
- 27:08Speaker 1: we did a show earlier this week where I talked
- 27:10Speaker 1: about where some of the funding is coming from. But
- 27:12Speaker 1: George Soros, we now know, is paying many of these
- 27:16Speaker 1: student radicals who are fueling this nationwide explosion of Israel
- 27:22Speaker 1: hating protests. This now coming from the New York Posts.
- 27:27Speaker 1: George Soros and his hard left allies are paying agitators
- 27:32Speaker 1: who are fueling the explosion of radical anti Israel protests
- 27:36Speaker 1: at colleges across the country. The protests which began when
- 27:40Speaker 1: students took over Columbia University. And why did they pick
- 27:43Speaker 1: New York because all the national media is there and
- 27:46Speaker 1: it was going to be easy to get free press.
- 27:48Speaker 1: Last week and then at Mushroom, nationwide copycat tent cities
- 27:53Speaker 1: have been set up at colleges including Harvard, Yale, Berkeley,
- 27:58Speaker 1: the Ohio State, Emrie University in Georgia, and all of
- 28:04Speaker 1: them organized by branches of a Soros funded Students for
- 28:09Speaker 1: Justice in Palestine known as SJP, and it's some students
- 28:14Speaker 1: have clashed with police. Now let me give you all
- 28:17Speaker 1: of the different places where they're paid protesters. Okay, so
- 28:22Speaker 1: you understand this is where they're paid mit Harvard, Emerson, Tufts, Yale, Cornell,
- 28:29Speaker 1: University of Rochester, University of Pittsburgh, Ohio State University, George
- 28:33Speaker 1: Washington University, Emory University, University of Texas at Dallas, University
- 28:37Speaker 1: of Texas at Austin, University of Minnesota, Northwestern cal Poly,
- 28:42Speaker 1: University of California USC. That is just to name a few,
- 28:47Speaker 1: and paid protesters are showing up at these universities now.
- 28:52Speaker 1: The SPJ parent organization has been funded by a network
- 28:56Speaker 1: of nonprofits ultimately funded by, among others, Ros, the billionaire
- 29:01Speaker 1: left wing investor. At three colleges, the protests are being
- 29:05Speaker 1: encouraged by paid radicals who are quote unquote fellows of
- 29:11Speaker 1: a Soros funded group called the US Campaign for Palestinian
- 29:17Speaker 1: Rights Now. This group provides up to seven eight hundred
- 29:22Speaker 1: dollars for its community based fellows and between two and
- 29:26Speaker 1: eighty to three thousand, six hundred and sixty dollars for
- 29:29Speaker 1: its campus based fellows in return for spending eight hours
- 29:33Speaker 1: a week organizing campaigns led by Palestinian organizations. If you
- 29:40Speaker 1: think all this is organic, you're wrong. This is all
- 29:44Speaker 1: being paid for by these radicals on the left. That
- 29:50Speaker 1: who's behind this, That's who's paying for it. Don't forget.
