- 2:07Speaker 1: me now, one and only Steve Harvey got a radio
- 2:10Speaker 1: show today? Is it? Everybody? Okay? On a real positive note? Today?
- 2:16Speaker 1: Is it? Today? Is the day? You know, when I
- 2:21Speaker 1: was in high school, you know, my mother was a
- 2:23Speaker 1: Sunday school teaching until she passed. I would walk out
- 2:27Speaker 1: the door every morning on my way to school, and
- 2:30Speaker 1: my mother used to say, listen to me, son, hey,
- 2:33Speaker 1: don't forget. Today is the day that the Lord has made.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Let us rejoice and be glad in it. And you know,
- 2:39Speaker 1: I ain't think much of it. You know, it's just
- 2:41Speaker 1: my mama being religious, you know, mom, spiritual woman. So
- 2:45Speaker 1: you know I just took it as that But as
- 2:46Speaker 1: I've gotten older, man, you know that's registered more and
- 2:50Speaker 1: more with me. You know, today is the day that
- 2:53Speaker 1: the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad
- 2:56Speaker 1: in it. That's pretty cool, man. I mean, what better
- 3:00Speaker 1: lesson will you get throughout the day than the fact
- 3:04Speaker 1: that he allowed you to live and see another day.
- 3:07Speaker 1: See sometimes, Man, when you're young, you don't pay no
- 3:10Speaker 1: attention to that. But all you got to do is
- 3:13Speaker 1: keep living, keep watching some people that you know not
- 3:18Speaker 1: be here anymore, go to class reunions and they're smaller,
- 3:24Speaker 1: see people that you really loved. It meant a lot
- 3:26Speaker 1: till you leave this world, and all of a sudden, man,
- 3:31Speaker 1: immortality starts to matter a great deal to you. Some
- 3:36Speaker 1: of us learned this lesson sooner than others. But I
- 3:40Speaker 1: know when you're young, man, you know, you think you're
- 3:41Speaker 1: gonna be here for a while. You think you got
- 3:43Speaker 1: time to play around. You think you got time to
- 3:45Speaker 1: get it together, You got time to make the mistakes,
- 3:48Speaker 1: and you got time to chill. But man, oh man,
- 3:52Speaker 1: almost every full blown adult that I know will tell
- 3:55Speaker 1: you and have said these words right here many times.
- 3:58Speaker 1: And I went see the reason I'm saying this because
- 4:00Speaker 1: I want you to hear him, because you're gonna use them. Man,
- 4:04Speaker 1: if I only knew then what I know now. Do
- 4:07Speaker 1: you know how many people have said those words right there?
- 4:12Speaker 1: Because in time, man, you gained so much wisdom. Oh
- 4:16Speaker 1: but it ain't like nobody didn't tell you though. See
- 4:19Speaker 1: that's the hooker. Somebody told you back then. Hey man,
- 4:23Speaker 1: it's best to buckle down now, he said, Hey man,
- 4:25Speaker 1: you better quit wasting time. Hey man, don't stop taking
- 4:29Speaker 1: your foot off the gas pedal. Hey look, do your
- 4:32Speaker 1: best at all the times, you know, stop stop worrying
- 4:35Speaker 1: about that. I'm telling you, son, In a minute, them
- 4:37Speaker 1: clubs ain't gonna mean nothing to you. In a minute,
- 4:40Speaker 1: that going out all the time ain't gonna mean nothing
- 4:42Speaker 1: to you. I can't tell you how many times I
- 4:45Speaker 1: heard all of it. I can't tell it to you.
- 4:47Speaker 1: I can't tell you how many times I repeat it
- 4:49Speaker 1: to my kids. But man, today is a different day,
- 4:54Speaker 1: because today is the day that the Lord has made.
- 4:57Speaker 1: So he gave you a shot today. If you woke
- 5:00Speaker 1: up this morning, or if you're finishing your day on
- 5:02Speaker 1: your shift, he gave you a new day. Nothing bigger
- 5:07Speaker 1: than the fact that he woke you up today. Now,
- 5:10Speaker 1: why don't you do something about that? Why don't you
- 5:13Speaker 1: take advantage of it? How about today? How about if
- 5:16Speaker 1: you start today? How About if you stop hesitating today.
- 5:19Speaker 1: How About if you stop delaying it today. How About
- 5:22Speaker 1: if you stop procrastinating today. How About if you make
- 5:24Speaker 1: today to day that you go forward. I mean, man,
- 5:27Speaker 1: let's all just decide today, let's go forward. Let's put
- 5:31Speaker 1: forth a maximum effort today. How about today? I mean, really, man,
- 5:36Speaker 1: what you're doing you look man, take advantage of this
- 5:39Speaker 1: blessing of waking up. Do something today. So many people
- 5:45Speaker 1: are in the dolgeoms of life, or are living in
- 5:48Speaker 1: a rut or just merely existing instead of thriving simply
- 5:52Speaker 1: because of one one thing. You just won't do it today.
- 5:58Speaker 1: If you would just start the problem, says man. Start
- 6:01Speaker 1: that business you always dreamed of. Go looking to that
- 6:04Speaker 1: other job you always yearn for. Go get the training
- 6:07Speaker 1: you need to get the promotion man, going back to school. Man,
- 6:11Speaker 1: go see what you need to do to lift yourself
- 6:13Speaker 1: to the next level. Stop waking up every day seeing
- 6:17Speaker 1: high it's gonna go, and start waking up and do
- 6:19Speaker 1: something about how it goes. If you make one step,
- 6:22Speaker 1: he'll make two. But you can people talk about all
- 6:25Speaker 1: the time, man, it seemed like you're always getting a blessing.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Oh man, when you're talking to a person, listen to this.
- 6:31Speaker 1: If you're talking to a person and it seems like
- 6:34Speaker 1: there's always a blessing coming his way, let me tell
- 6:37Speaker 1: you what that person doing. That person is putting one
- 6:39Speaker 1: foot in front of the next. That person is putting
- 6:42Speaker 1: forth some efforts out there. And that's the only way
- 6:45Speaker 1: God can bless you. God can only bless you with
- 6:48Speaker 1: your efforts. He can only put his finger on the
- 6:52Speaker 1: thing that you are doing or attempting. That's all he
- 6:57Speaker 1: can help you with. He that are no jobs, walk
- 7:00Speaker 1: walking up to your door, knocking on your door. But
- 7:02Speaker 1: if you're beating the payment, if you're sending it in
- 7:04Speaker 1: the apps, if you own line, scouring somewhere to work,
- 7:07Speaker 1: somewhere to get a job, then God can touch somebody's
- 7:10Speaker 1: hard to hire you. But if you're sitting at the
- 7:12Speaker 1: house every day, smoke everyday, drinking, but you wonder why
- 7:17Speaker 1: you just can't get a job. The couple times you
- 7:19Speaker 1: don't want out there, you got to. If you ain't
- 7:21Speaker 1: got a job, you gotta go get one every day.
- 7:24Speaker 1: You got to go look for one every single day.
- 7:26Speaker 1: You can't take no days off. How about today? How
- 7:29Speaker 1: about today? If we decide today is the day that
- 7:33Speaker 1: we're gonna make the move. Today is the day that
- 7:35Speaker 1: we stop delaying, hesitating, procrastinating. Today is to day that
- 7:39Speaker 1: we take a step in the direction to do something
- 7:41Speaker 1: for ourselves, for our lives, for our family, for our wives,
- 7:45Speaker 1: for our children, for our community, for our school. Do
- 7:49Speaker 1: something today, for crying out loud, man, stop sitting in
- 7:53Speaker 1: your own life in just a stew of misery in
- 7:58Speaker 1: your own life. I'm gonna tell you something. If you
- 8:00Speaker 1: are in a state of confusion, if you are troubling,
- 8:04Speaker 1: if you're stuck on what to do next, you let
- 8:06Speaker 1: me tell you what's happening. You're not doing enough. That's
- 8:10Speaker 1: what it is, man. See when I get in a place,
- 8:13Speaker 1: man where I don't know what the next move is,
- 8:17Speaker 1: it's because i'd un usually stalled out. See, this is
- 8:20Speaker 1: the way God works. This is the way He's worked
- 8:23Speaker 1: for me. Every time I'm busy and I'm about the
- 8:26Speaker 1: business of always trying to live my creed, which is ABC.
- 8:31Speaker 1: My motto is ABC always be closing. I'm always working
- 8:35Speaker 1: on something, something to close something. When you're so busy
- 8:40Speaker 1: with the business of improving yourself and doing with yourself
- 8:44Speaker 1: and becoming the best you you can be. God is
- 8:47Speaker 1: always working on your behalf, behind some scene of something
- 8:52Speaker 1: that you're in the process of tempting to close. But
- 8:56Speaker 1: because you're not doing all you can do, you're limiting you.
- 9:01Speaker 1: You are because if your decision not to give you
- 9:03Speaker 1: all in all, you're limiting the opportunities for God to
- 9:07Speaker 1: put his finger on things and touch them on your behalf.
- 9:11Speaker 1: I don't know if the average person really understands or
- 9:15Speaker 1: knows what it takes to truly be successful on whatever
- 9:20Speaker 1: level you're talking about. But whatever that level is, I
- 9:23Speaker 1: don't care what a dollar amount you've got attached to it,
- 9:26Speaker 1: what level you got, if you have made the decision
- 9:28Speaker 1: that you're going to be successful, I think that a
- 9:32Speaker 1: lot of people, the average person does not know what
- 9:34Speaker 1: that means. Whatever level you've decided to be successful on, See,
- 9:39Speaker 1: that's your level of faith, that's where you see your
- 9:42Speaker 1: life at. Well, guess what you got to maximize your
- 9:46Speaker 1: efforts to even get to that level. So listen to
- 9:50Speaker 1: me if you want to be successful at your church,
- 9:53Speaker 1: if you want to be successful in your relationship, if
- 9:55Speaker 1: you want to be successful down at the day cassing,
- 9:58Speaker 1: if you want to be successful at your college, if
- 10:01Speaker 1: you want to be successful on your job. Guess what
- 10:04Speaker 1: it's gonna take all you got in that world to
- 10:08Speaker 1: become a success. I don't know why people think that.
- 10:12Speaker 1: If you don't want to be what somebody else say,
- 10:14Speaker 1: you ain't got to put forth that effort. Na, I
- 10:17Speaker 1: ain't wrong. You've got to put forth your maximum effort
- 10:21Speaker 1: at whatever role you're trying to accomplish. Lord have mercy. Man.
- 10:25Speaker 1: How about today, though, y'all? How about today today as
- 10:28Speaker 1: a good one. Let's make today today. Let's get out
- 10:31Speaker 1: of that. Let's get on with it. Stop hesitating, stop delaying,
- 10:35Speaker 1: stop procrastinating, start today. Watch God have something to put
- 10:40Speaker 1: his finger on there. And that's all you're trying to do. Man,
- 10:44Speaker 1: To line yourself up with God's grace, you gotta put
- 10:47Speaker 1: out a lot of effort so God can put his
- 10:49Speaker 1: finger on something. You feel me today, I shall hope
- 10:52Speaker 1: you do, because I'm on one today. Let's go. You're listening,
- 11:00Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, monkeys, Cheetos, Zoo Animals,

- 18:18Speaker 1: dance floor of mainly senior citizens. I love it, I
- 18:21Speaker 1: love what it wasn't Yes, wicked, wicked. She entertains about
- 18:27Speaker 1: a thousand people at the Hula Coola Club, smashing stereotypes
- 18:33Speaker 1: and empowering seniors as she plays everything from disco and
- 18:38Speaker 1: rock to samba and ballots. She says, I do not
- 18:42Speaker 1: fit the stereotype of an elderly person. I don't see
- 18:45Speaker 1: any reason why my age should determine why my age
- 18:47Speaker 1: should determine my life norms. So I think that's interesting.
- 18:51Speaker 1: So here's a question for the guys. What part of
- 18:54Speaker 1: your job keeps you young? Or what job would you
- 18:58Speaker 1: want to keep you young? I can tell you definitely
- 19:00Speaker 1: what keeps me you? You fellas what I start first? Oh,
- 19:03Speaker 1: go ahead, go ahead, the younger. All my jobs, man,
- 19:07Speaker 1: I love all my job laughing, all the laughing I
- 19:10Speaker 1: get to do all day long, man telling Joe's laughing.
- 19:13Speaker 1: That's what keep me young. Good answer, good answer. Stupidity
- 19:18Speaker 1: being able to just be stupid, just just you know,
- 19:21Speaker 1: just letting it go. Oh, yes, you're strong with that.
- 19:24Speaker 1: You're strong because you you would think you would want
- 19:27Speaker 1: to mature. But I don't want that. Don't be silly, Carla.
- 19:36Speaker 1: I want this stupid right here. I want when you
- 19:39Speaker 1: got it? You got all of that, anybody, that's all you?
- 19:44Speaker 1: All right? Steve? What keeps you keep? Fine off and
- 19:51Speaker 1: ignorance or fine off and ignorance. When I first met
- 19:58Speaker 1: you used to say that, I love it. I let
- 20:01Speaker 1: it out. I don't have high blood pressure, I don't
- 20:03Speaker 1: have stress dog to do all that. I ain't hand
- 20:06Speaker 1: the ulcers and all that. Oh we cussing, okay? Cool?
- 20:10Speaker 1: I agree with Junior though, the laughter of it all,
- 20:13Speaker 1: I mean, laughter is it? Yeah? You know? But I mean,
- 20:17Speaker 1: you know, we got to give different answers, Shirley. We
- 20:19Speaker 1: can't all say laughter. What you're not do is make
- 20:24Speaker 1: us think that Junior's the most brilliant know three of us.
- 20:27Speaker 1: That's not what you well with that question. I know
- 20:29Speaker 1: he tried. I saw him because he didn't have that answer. Firthday,
- 20:33Speaker 1: he won. He won that round. Junior won that round.
- 20:36Speaker 1: Stick Okay, we had it. What was wrong competition. It
- 20:43Speaker 1: was a competition who Shirley did? Did sure? I like
- 20:49Speaker 1: Junior's answer to answer. I want to ask you what
- 20:51Speaker 1: you like? I just love to answer because so. Yeah,
- 20:55Speaker 1: we laugh a lot on this show, and it's just cool.
- 20:59Speaker 1: That's all you You're trying to make it into something.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Mister Harvey. Mmmm. That keeps me y'all st We'll keep y'alling. Yeah. Yeah,
- 21:08Speaker 1: and he is the king of that the ladies. Yeah.
- 21:13Speaker 1: I mean, like I said, I agree with you, laughter, um, laughter,

- 34:18Speaker 1: today's headlines, Ladies and gentlemen. Miss Anne Tripp, thank you
- 34:23Speaker 1: very much, everybody in good morning. This is answered with
- 34:26Speaker 1: the news well. In the wake of the Justice Departments
- 34:28Speaker 1: summary of the Robert Muller Report, which, according to the
- 34:31Speaker 1: US Attorney General William Barr, found no collusion between the
- 34:34Speaker 1: Russians and the Trump campaign, the President's tweeting that House
- 34:37Speaker 1: Intelligence Committee Chairman Adams Shift should resign his post. However,
- 34:41Speaker 1: Shift responds by running down a list of those admitted
- 34:44Speaker 1: Russian Trump contacts, from Donald Trump Junior welcoming the Russian
- 34:48Speaker 1: offer of dirt on Hillary Clinton to Trump's former national
- 34:51Speaker 1: security advisor Michael Flynn secretly discussing the lowering of sanctions
- 34:54Speaker 1: against Moscow. You might think it's okay that the campaign
- 34:57Speaker 1: chairman of a presidential campaign would offer information about that
- 35:02Speaker 1: campaign to a Russian oligarch in exchange for money or
- 35:05Speaker 1: debt forgiveness. You might think that's okay. I don't, And
- 35:08Speaker 1: how Speaker Nancy Pelosi pressed again for transparency. Eighty percent
- 35:13Speaker 1: plus of the American people say they want to see
- 35:16Speaker 1: the report. Four hundred and twenty members of the House
- 35:20Speaker 1: of Representatives Democrats and Republicans voted yes, show us the
- 35:24Speaker 1: report and that's it, so he will see what happens.
- 35:29Speaker 1: The Democratic led House of Representatives voted to challenge the
- 35:31Speaker 1: new Pentagon policy yesterday that bands transgender people from enlisting
- 35:36Speaker 1: and those already in the military from serving openly. That's right.
- 35:40Speaker 1: A policy is set to go and effect April twelfth.
- 35:43Speaker 1: Five House Republicans actually broke ranks with other GOP members
- 35:46Speaker 1: and join every voting Democrat to support a non binding
- 35:49Speaker 1: resolution that says we repudiate this. The Republican lawmakers say
- 35:53Speaker 1: the policy allows transgender service persons to still serve, but
- 35:56Speaker 1: only in the sex they were born as if they
- 35:58Speaker 1: want to do that, they have to leave the service.
- 36:01Speaker 1: Facebook's as it plans to start treating white nationalism and
- 36:04Speaker 1: white separatism as hate speech. Beginning next week, both will
- 36:08Speaker 1: be banned on news fees and Instagram. Facebook officials say
- 36:11Speaker 1: that after talking to nonprofits and academics, Facebooks concluded that
- 36:15Speaker 1: support of white nationalism or white separatism cannot be ideologically
- 36:19Speaker 1: separated from white supremacy or organized hate groups. There are
- 36:25Speaker 1: calls to remove John Wayne's name off an LA area airport.
- 36:29Speaker 1: The LA Times columnist named Michael Hiltzik wrote a peace
- 36:32Speaker 1: urging John Wayne Airport to be renamed in light of
- 36:34Speaker 1: the comments that Wayne made in a Playboy article back
- 36:37Speaker 1: in nineteen seventy one. In it, the Late Actors quote
- 36:39Speaker 1: is saying, I believe in white supremacy until the blacks
- 36:42Speaker 1: are educated to a point of responsibility. He using Andy
- 36:46Speaker 1: Gaysler also, and he said that Native Americans were selfishly
- 36:49Speaker 1: trying to keep the US for themselves. Federal judge has
- 36:53Speaker 1: block programs in Kentucky and Arkansas that imposed work requirements
- 36:57Speaker 1: on poor people seeking Medicaid benefits. And finally today's National
- 37:01Speaker 1: No Hard White Day because barely no homework either. I
- 37:09Speaker 1: don't know now. Fact in the Steve Harvey Morning Show
- 37:12Speaker 1: you're listening to show, Oscar winner Jordan Peel is riding
- 37:18Speaker 1: high after the massive massive success of his latest creepy
- 37:22Speaker 1: hit movie called Us. It starts a Black Family. The
- 37:26Speaker 1: movie shattered previous horror movie records with an eighty eight
- 37:30Speaker 1: million dollar opening weekend. Yeah, Peel, kell, Yeah, he really is.
- 37:36Speaker 1: Congratulations to him. He kept it real. While speaking to
- 37:40Speaker 1: aspiring film students in Hollywood, Peel admitted that he doesn't
- 37:44Speaker 1: intend to cast white men as the lead in his
- 37:47Speaker 1: movies anytime soon. Peel said, it's not that he doesn't
- 37:52Speaker 1: like white dudes. It's not that he likes them. He's
- 37:55Speaker 1: just seen that movie before. Jordan. Yeah, he said that.
- 38:00Speaker 1: Jordan went on to say, I feel fortunate to get
- 38:02Speaker 1: to cast black people and that I can go to
- 38:04Speaker 1: Universal and say I want to do a twenty million
- 38:06Speaker 1: dollar horror movie with a black family, and they say yes, Yes,
- 38:13Speaker 1: mister Pelle. Power to the people, Run me and Timmy
- 38:18Speaker 1: here to do them. Yeah. I think he's gonna do
- 38:21Speaker 1: the Twilight Zone coming. Yeah, that should be good. Yeah yeah.
- 38:26Speaker 1: People are calling him a genius to calling him he's brilliant,
- 38:29Speaker 1: the next Alfred Hitchcock. I mean they love man. You know,
- 38:34Speaker 1: I got an idea for a horror movie. Really, it's
- 38:38Speaker 1: me at a spelling b I'm getting scared. I'm getting scared.
- 38:45Speaker 1: Come on, and I'm up against a bunch of kids.
- 38:52Speaker 1: But I'm still the same size I am. Man. I
- 38:55Speaker 1: got that little chain card around my neck, my gnun bony.
- 39:00Speaker 1: But I'm not willing to admit that I can't spell.
- 39:04Speaker 1: But every time I spell something, I walk off and
- 39:07Speaker 1: just kick the mic over, like nailed it. I like it.
- 39:15Speaker 1: That will be horrifying. Yes, well again, congratulations to Jordan Peel.
- 39:22Speaker 1: You know he is very fortunate to get cash like
- 39:25Speaker 1: people and to get to say yes to black actors
- 39:29Speaker 1: and things. You know, that's a really great thing. I
- 39:32Speaker 1: love it. That was That's pretty good though, walking and
- 39:35Speaker 1: get twenty million. Yeah, Tommy, could you be in a
- 39:37Speaker 1: scared move because I don't know how to act scared. Yeah,
- 39:41Speaker 1: it's gonna be called lightening, not to be confused with
- 39:49Speaker 1: grief light from Richard. Yeah you got me. Y'all know
- 39:54Speaker 1: Tommy's afraid of light. Oh yeah, be called a lightening,
- 40:07Speaker 1: all right? Coming up at thirty four after the hour.
- 40:09Speaker 1: Last night, President Trump talked about Justice Smalltt at a
- 40:13Speaker 1: rally in Michigan, and Chicago wants Jesse to pay the
- 40:16Speaker 1: city back the money he owes them. Man, ain't nobody.
- 40:20Speaker 1: You can't do that to that brother. We'll talk about
- 40:23Speaker 1: it right after this. Get out of here. You're listening to.
- 40:28Speaker 1: The Chicago Corporation Council, who handles civil claims for the city,
- 40:33Speaker 1: fired off a letter to Jesse Smalltt demanding that he
- 40:36Speaker 1: paid the city one hundred and thirty thousand dollars that represents,
- 40:41Speaker 1: among other things, Steve Overtime paid for the cops who
- 40:44Speaker 1: investigated the case. Well, yeah, yeah, that's unfair. It did, okay, seenia.
- 40:52Speaker 1: Right now, what they're doing to this guy doesn't make
- 40:56Speaker 1: any sense. Because they were convinced that he was guilty.
- 40:59Speaker 1: There prosecuting office dropped all charges. That's it. It's a rap.
- 41:08Speaker 1: It's over. No charges against the young man. Now, y'all

- 41:15Speaker 1: been a week. They want immediate payment. They're they're giving
- 41:18Speaker 1: him a week. That's a sore loser. Yeah, that's what
- 41:20Speaker 1: this is. Uh. Yeah, it's just doggish the way they're
- 41:25Speaker 1: doing it. Well, even President Trump chimed in. He blasted
- 41:29Speaker 1: Juss at a Grand Rapids Michigan rally last night. Take
- 41:32Speaker 1: a listen, and it's getting to be that time, very
- 41:36Speaker 1: important Macca country. You heard the other day, how about
- 41:42Speaker 1: in Chicago? He said, He said he was attacked by
- 41:51Speaker 1: Macca Country. Ye, of that one, maybe the only time
- 41:57Speaker 1: I've ever agreed with the mayor of Chicago. Ill. Baby,
- 42:03Speaker 1: that's a terrible situation. That's an embarrassment not only to Chicago,
- 42:08Speaker 1: that is an embarrassment to our country. Oh jeez, there's
- 42:14Speaker 1: a lot of nerves country. This dude is he has
- 42:20Speaker 1: no and and then the people they just start booing.
- 42:24Speaker 1: You know, this dude picks the most trivial items to
- 42:30Speaker 1: focus on where he can get his base fired up.
- 42:34Speaker 1: This is so true in the scheme of what we
- 42:36Speaker 1: have to do. If you don't get your ass over
- 42:40Speaker 1: there and try to stop this nuclear attack threat we
- 42:43Speaker 1: got from from this dude over North Korea, if you
- 42:47Speaker 1: don't sit down, man, and try to find out a
- 42:49Speaker 1: way to fix these problems we got in this country. Man,
- 42:53Speaker 1: without always blames. They don't have a plan for healthcare.
- 42:57Speaker 1: They just want to see. Now he just wants to
- 43:00Speaker 1: fix all of his campaign promises up. He wants the wall,
- 43:05Speaker 1: he wants he's got the no collusion going, and now
- 43:09Speaker 1: he wants to get rid of all Obamacare. So many
- 43:13Speaker 1: Republicans are against that. It ain't funny, but this dude
- 43:18Speaker 1: has hell been on saying idea what I was supposed
- 43:20Speaker 1: to do. Let me tell y'all something, man, If we
- 43:24Speaker 1: are not extremely careful, if these Democrats don't get they
- 43:28Speaker 1: act in order, and I mean in a hurry, because
- 43:31Speaker 1: this dude is gaining points, man, and we're not doing anything.
- 43:36Speaker 1: Y'all know who ain't fitting to be president on the
- 43:40Speaker 1: Democratic side, Quit talking to the add no, no, no,
- 43:47Speaker 1: listen to me. You know who can't be Trump. That's
- 43:54Speaker 1: what you've got to get to focus it on. Because
- 43:57Speaker 1: they're focused already on twenty twenty putting him back in office.
- 44:01Speaker 1: They're not talking about removing him and getting somebody else.
- 44:04Speaker 1: They're focus is getting him back in office. If you
- 44:06Speaker 1: don't think that he's gonna run this tax bill up, y'all.
- 44:10Speaker 1: Tail If you don't think he gonna bring up this
- 44:13Speaker 1: no collusion, If you don't think he ain't gonna mention
- 44:17Speaker 1: the fact that that unemployment rate which he keeps taking
- 44:22Speaker 1: credit for. If you don't think he's gonna talk about jobs,
- 44:26Speaker 1: and if you don't think he gonna talk about that wall,
- 44:29Speaker 1: you're sadly mistaken. He's building a case for reelection. And
- 44:34Speaker 1: what are we doing? Nothing? We're doing nothing except trying
- 44:39Speaker 1: to stop him from doing what he's trying to do. Man,
- 44:43Speaker 1: we're in the world of trouble. Y'all. Won't fix this
- 44:45Speaker 1: mess up right now? Sick of this. Democrats are just
- 44:49Speaker 1: not smart. Man, I'm just gonna tell you that, they're
- 44:51Speaker 1: just not smart. Do you think the people that are
- 44:55Speaker 1: running some of them gotta know I'm not good for
- 44:57Speaker 1: this race and drop well. I mean, unfortunately, that's not
- 45:02Speaker 1: how the process works in a democracy. It's just not
- 45:05Speaker 1: I mean, we know that. I mean, you know, we
- 45:08Speaker 1: can't eight of these people no good in hair where
- 45:10Speaker 1: they're not fitness. We're moving on up next. It is
- 45:16Speaker 1: a nephew with the frank phone call. Right after this,
- 45:19Speaker 1: Jesus you're listening to the Steven Show coming up at
- 45:25Speaker 1: the top of the hour, right about four minutes after
- 45:28Speaker 1: it's today's strawberry letter, the subject the cookie drove my
- 45:32Speaker 1: best friend crazy. But right now the nephew is here
- 45:39Speaker 1: with today's prank phone call. What you got next? That
- 45:42Speaker 1: ain't my brother, baby, That ain't my baby? Mean we Okay,
- 45:54Speaker 1: that's it, Hunt, That's self explanatory pretty much. That's pretty
- 45:57Speaker 1: much speak for us. That ain't my brother bank. Okay,
- 46:01Speaker 1: we're gonna run it here. It is, don't worry about
- 46:05Speaker 1: It's something I need to take care. I talked to man,
- 46:07Speaker 1: I speak to Terry. My name is Darrel. Damon is
- 46:11Speaker 1: my brother. I don't live in Dallas where y'all live at.
- 46:13Speaker 1: I'm the one that live out of town. But we
- 46:16Speaker 1: didn't have a family meeting and talked about it. And uh,
- 46:19Speaker 1: I know Travis is your son. He eight years old.
- 46:22Speaker 1: But the problem is the reason why I'm calling you,
- 46:26Speaker 1: Terry is called we didn't found out that Travis ain't
- 46:30Speaker 1: none of Damon's child. Travis ain't none of damon child
- 46:34Speaker 1: when he'd been paying you child support here for the
- 46:36Speaker 1: last eight hold On, you said, I'm Darrel. I'm damon brother,
- 46:41Speaker 1: and who gave you this information? We are to found
- 46:45Speaker 1: the information out. We actually gonna go down there to
- 46:46Speaker 1: the courthouse and get all this stuff rectified. But we
- 46:49Speaker 1: didn't found out that Travis ain't ain't none of Damon's child.
- 46:53Speaker 1: And he've been sitting up here sending you money seven
- 46:55Speaker 1: to eight hundred dollars a month, and this child ain't
- 46:58Speaker 1: even here. Now. I hate for Travis to find this out,
- 47:00Speaker 1: and he gonna have to find it out, but he
- 47:03Speaker 1: ain't fified a why are you calling me? Look, the
- 47:07Speaker 1: family didn't had a meeting, and I'm the one that
- 47:08Speaker 1: they decided to make the phone call and tell you
- 47:11Speaker 1: what's going on. Now, I don't you you you don't
- 47:13Speaker 1: have a damn thing to do with this. You You
- 47:15Speaker 1: ain't nobody daddy over here. So I'm not sure what
- 47:18Speaker 1: you're calling for. Who God made you keen or wanted
- 47:21Speaker 1: you to be head in charge? To call? But that
- 47:24Speaker 1: it's not gonna work out. But let me why why
- 47:26Speaker 1: are you doing this to my brother? That's what I'm saying.
- 47:28Speaker 1: For eight years, the man been sitting you seven hundred
- 47:31Speaker 1: seven dollars a month and and this ain't even his chime.
- 47:34Speaker 1: You know, why why am I even talking to you?
- 47:39Speaker 1: I'm not really sure. Your brother need to call me
- 47:41Speaker 1: if he has any problems of questions. You have a
- 47:43Speaker 1: good ding Hello, you don't hang No damn phone up
- 47:49Speaker 1: on me. Damon told me the last was hard headed anyway. Now, look,
- 47:54Speaker 1: you know what you got the wrong one baby like you,
- 47:56Speaker 1: I'm trying to not lose all my religion today, but
- 47:58Speaker 1: you're about to make me lose it. Y'all. You don't
- 48:01Speaker 1: know who you over here. So like I said before,
- 48:05Speaker 1: my fun your nephew that you're trying not to claim
- 48:08Speaker 1: over there. I don't know why you came from wherever
- 48:10Speaker 1: the here. You said you came from the Dallas to
- 48:12Speaker 1: try to I came from California down here to Dallas,
- 48:15Speaker 1: and I'm telling you need to take your bath. I'm
- 48:17Speaker 1: back to California because down here if you don't know
- 48:19Speaker 1: me like that, No, I don't know you, but I'm
- 48:21Speaker 1: fend to know you. And Travis been to know that
- 48:23Speaker 1: my brother ain't his daddy. No, I don't know you know,
- 48:27Speaker 1: you need to talk to your brother again. That's what
- 48:29Speaker 1: you need to do. And you don't need to be
- 48:30Speaker 1: talking to me. You've been to send us all the
- 48:32Speaker 1: money and my brother didn't sent y'all. I and when
- 48:38Speaker 1: I do, look and I sent when I sent all
- 48:40Speaker 1: that eight years worth of money back, you're gonna send
- 48:42Speaker 1: it ever dying back because it belonged to my brother.
- 48:44Speaker 1: That ain't my brother. Child. Now, we ain't got time
- 48:47Speaker 1: to be going on on Maury Pover showing nothing to
- 48:49Speaker 1: find out who you know what? Like I said, you
- 48:52Speaker 1: picked the wrong one. It'd be your best been not
- 48:54Speaker 1: to call me anymore. You actually it is a good
- 48:57Speaker 1: thing that you call because if you came knocking on
- 48:59Speaker 1: my brow, you to got you to day. No you go,
- 49:02Speaker 1: that's my second thing I'm thing to do if we
- 49:03Speaker 1: can't rectified over the fall. I don't have a problem
- 49:06Speaker 1: coming over there knocking down some does and getting some
- 49:08Speaker 1: questions answered, because damn it, this ain't Damon's baby. Obviously
- 49:12Speaker 1: you must wish it was yours since you're taking so
- 49:14Speaker 1: much entry. No, it ain't mine, but but it ain't
- 49:18Speaker 1: Damon's either, And we got to had any and looking
- 49:21Speaker 1: for from But I'm sorry this was taken over here
- 49:24Speaker 1: and Damon, where we continue to play when he oh, Damon,
- 49:27Speaker 1: don't open that's with your brother's mad I want to play.
- 49:30Speaker 1: I'm sorry, he's gonna continue to play, and you can
- 49:33Speaker 1: call wherever you want to come, do whatever you want
- 49:34Speaker 1: to do. So go back and tell your mama and
- 49:36Speaker 1: everybody else who's waiting for this meeting to let them
- 49:39Speaker 1: know it ain't having me. Look, my mama ain't got
- 49:42Speaker 1: nothing to do with it. Mama been. What's your mama?
- 49:44Speaker 1: You say, your mamma, Now, y'all got to get us.
- 49:47Speaker 1: She's the same way that I'll see where you get
- 49:48Speaker 1: it from. You're like just like her mama knows it,
- 49:51Speaker 1: y'all from nosing people my y'all, damn business. That's a
- 49:54Speaker 1: grong man. That ain't. My mama said it from the
- 49:56Speaker 1: get go that it wasn't Hunt that it wasn't damon ChIL.
- 50:00Speaker 1: I mean, your mama's a two faced lock because you
- 50:01Speaker 1: ain't what your mama said. You ain't been to sit
- 50:03Speaker 1: here and bring my mama up in this well. If
- 50:06Speaker 1: you know so much, then you back, come back on
- 50:08Speaker 1: my ballays, come nack on my ball if you want to.
- 50:10Speaker 1: We didn't done. The man. Seven hundred and fifty dollars
- 50:13Speaker 1: times twelve times eight is seventy two thousand dollars. That's
- 50:18Speaker 1: how much money. And my brother didn't send you, and
- 50:21Speaker 1: that's how much we want back. And I need you
- 50:23Speaker 1: to get the working on this money. Nah, okay, why
- 50:27Speaker 1: don't you come over here and get it. Don't get
- 50:28Speaker 1: your whoop today, Terry, come on over here. You don't
- 50:31Speaker 1: see you on your things if you you in Dallas
- 50:33Speaker 1: when I don't care nothingbody but I'm in no Dallas.
- 50:37Speaker 1: This ain't canna for you. So what I don't even
- 50:39Speaker 1: know what they here? I don't why, I'm I don't

- 50:48Speaker 1: got to be the one to call. I'm not really understanding. Look,
- 50:51Speaker 1: I got one more thing I need to say to you.
- 50:53Speaker 1: As you listening to me, you know you do know
- 50:54Speaker 1: my damn nerves. That's what you're doing. You respect me?
- 50:58Speaker 1: Are you listening to me? This is the nephew Timmy
- 51:01Speaker 1: from the Steve Harvey Morning Show. You just got brank.
- 51:07Speaker 1: Oh you just got pranked by your sister Tanya. Baby?
- 51:13Speaker 1: Why she said talk to her about her baby, daddy
- 51:18Speaker 1: and that baby. Yeah, I don't play with the Oh
- 51:22Speaker 1: my god, let me ask you this, what is the
- 51:26Speaker 1: baddest I'm talking about the baddest radio show in the

- 51:38Speaker 1: play where too much? Timmy, cust me out all you
- 51:41Speaker 1: want to that ain't my brother's baby. But then it

- 52:11Speaker 1: trying to get out of the way. You're trying to
- 52:12Speaker 1: get out of the camera. They ran back there so
- 52:15Speaker 1: many times they lay set cameras up back then. And
- 52:18Speaker 1: then what about the time is when this guy comes out,
- 52:22Speaker 1: it's not his baby. This then another guy comes out,
- 52:24Speaker 1: they take the test, it's not his baby. Then another
- 52:27Speaker 1: being you've been busy, you've been doing it, didn't They

- 52:54Speaker 1: that's wrong. No, no, no, not the light detector you.
- 52:58Speaker 1: But then Maury gets up with that brown envelope. Yeah

- 55:06Speaker 1: is the Strawberry Letter, subject the cookie drove my best
- 55:10Speaker 1: friend crazy. Dear Stephen Shirley. Every time I say that, Steve,
- 55:15Speaker 1: you go, Dear Stephen Shirley, I'm a twenty eight I
- 55:21Speaker 1: am a twenty eight year old woman, and I have
- 55:23Speaker 1: a male best friend. Well, I had a male best
- 55:26Speaker 1: friend that I have been friends with since middle school.
- 55:30Speaker 1: In twenty sixteen, I had a bad breakup and my
- 55:33Speaker 1: best friend came over to console me. We were sitting
- 55:36Speaker 1: side by side on my couch and he leaned over
- 55:39Speaker 1: and kissed me. It felt so good to be held
- 55:43Speaker 1: and kissed so passionately. Well, one thing led to another,
- 55:47Speaker 1: and I ended up giving him the cookie. We were
- 55:50Speaker 1: shocked at how good it was, and we and we
- 55:54Speaker 1: did it a few more times before he left the
- 55:56Speaker 1: next morning. After that it was over. We knew that
- 56:01Speaker 1: we could not be together because I'm not his type
- 56:04Speaker 1: and he's not my type. So fast forward to twenty eighteen.
- 56:08Speaker 1: My best friend is married and I was in a
- 56:11Speaker 1: really good relationship and I told my best friend that
- 56:14Speaker 1: my man and I were talking about marriage and I
- 56:16Speaker 1: wanted him to meet my parents. Out of the blue,
- 56:20Speaker 1: my best friend started sending me inappropriate text messages talking
- 56:25Speaker 1: about that one special night we shared nearly four years ago.
- 56:29Speaker 1: I was so shocked and I told him to let
- 56:32Speaker 1: it go. He said he can't let me get married,
- 56:35Speaker 1: and he asked me if he got a divorce, would
- 56:38Speaker 1: I marry him. I told him no. Well, a few
- 56:42Speaker 1: days later, I went to my parents' house with my boyfriend,
- 56:45Speaker 1: and my best friend showed up there. In front of
- 56:48Speaker 1: my boyfriend and my mom and dad, my best friend
- 56:53Speaker 1: professed his love for me and told them about how
- 56:57Speaker 1: we made love was a twist, okay. He then dropped
- 57:08Speaker 1: to his knee and he asked me to marry him exactly, Carla.
- 57:15Speaker 1: My boyfriend excused himself from my parents home, and he
- 57:19Speaker 1: broke up with me the next day. He said, he
- 57:23Speaker 1: said that I should I should have told him that
- 57:26Speaker 1: I slept with my best friend. I don't know how
- 57:28Speaker 1: to handle this. I want my boyfriend back, and I'm
- 57:32Speaker 1: furious with my so called best friend. What can I do?
- 57:35Speaker 1: Please help? WHOA? I honestly don't know if there's anything
- 57:42Speaker 1: you can do. I don't know what you can do.
- 57:44Speaker 1: I mean, man, I mean he spoiled everything, and your
- 57:48Speaker 1: your boyfriend broke up with you. I mean you haven't.
- 57:50Speaker 1: You haven't even mentioned if you've spoken to your boyfriend,
- 57:54Speaker 1: if you've tried to call him, if you tried to
- 57:56Speaker 1: explain to him. None of that I mean, you know,
- 57:59Speaker 1: I guess you can try calling him, you can try
- 58:02Speaker 1: explaining it to him. Your best friend was so out
- 58:06Speaker 1: of line to embarrass and humiliate you like that in
- 58:10Speaker 1: front of your mom, your dad, your man, everybody. That
- 58:15Speaker 1: was just not the way to do it if he
- 58:16Speaker 1: was in love with you. I mean, it makes it
- 58:18Speaker 1: does make it look like you guys were still involved.
- 58:22Speaker 1: And I definitely I don't think you were wrong in
- 58:24Speaker 1: not telling your boyfriend. He said you should have told him.
- 58:27Speaker 1: I don't think you should have told him. I don't
- 58:29Speaker 1: think you should have told him about sleeping with your
- 58:31Speaker 1: best friend because it was, after all, four years ago,
- 58:34Speaker 1: and you asked your boyfriend, your best friend, to let
- 58:38Speaker 1: it go, but he just couldn't let it go. He
- 58:41Speaker 1: went on and got married and have a han't had
- 58:43Speaker 1: a life. He doesn't want that for you because he
- 58:46Speaker 1: wants you. How selfish of him. But I don't know
- 58:50Speaker 1: if there's anything you can do. You gotta, you know,
- 58:53Speaker 1: try to reach out to your man and your ex
- 58:55Speaker 1: and see, if you know, if he's willing to listen
- 58:58Speaker 1: to you and see how it was. I mean, he
- 59:00Speaker 1: just that was just something to blindside him like that
- 59:04Speaker 1: at your parents' house in front of everyone. I mean,
- 59:07Speaker 1: that's humiliating. So you know, he's got to get past that.
- 59:10Speaker 1: If it's true love between you and him, you might
- 59:13Speaker 1: be able to fix it. But I don't know. I
- 59:16Speaker 1: don't know. There's always hope to keep hope alive. Steve,
- 59:20Speaker 1: it's something missing in this that it is, and I'll
- 59:24Speaker 1: tell you soon as I get to it. Got a
- 59:26Speaker 1: lot of cookie time. Had a friend, male best friend
- 59:30Speaker 1: middle school. He had a break up. Best friend came
- 59:34Speaker 1: over consoli. Y'all got to talk and looking at each other,

- 1:14:16Speaker 1: the one thing we all should do but most of
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: us are too lazy to do it. Morning meditation, m M.
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: Get up a little bit earlier and meditate on the morning.
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: Set your prayers out, put your thankfulness out. I'm guilty
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: of it myself, but I just started doing it. That's
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: the smartest thing I started doing recently. Great answer that great?
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: Ready to start your day? M all right, big? What
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: confuses you? Well? I think this is it? Oh, I
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: don't understand. You know what confuses me? Haters? Yea, Haters
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: are very confusing to me because I don't understand. If
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: you don't have your life together, which is probably why
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: you're a hater, why would you blog some more hatred
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: to let us know just how further back you really are.
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: I'm confused. I'm really confused, man. And then you such
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: a big coward. Your ass got a fake page at
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: a private page. Now you are coward, even you a
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: secret closet coward. I'm that confuses Okay, okayward hater, gohead?
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: Yeah that was that? Was it? All right? If you
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: could be any nationality, what would it be? Oh? Black?
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: Oh no, I wouldn't trade this. Do you know the
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: enjoyment I've gotten from being black? That's race, Though nationality
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: is American. You know what country you're from, what nation
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: you're I'm into race right now. That ain't what calling me.
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: If you could be any race, I would be black.
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: I would never trade in this, as difficult as it's
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: been a large portion of the time, having the perspective
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: that I have, the grit, the hustle, and the soul
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: that I have, Oh dog, I would not want to
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: be nothing else. Just the fact that I can prove
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: them all wrong on behalf of us. Yes, all right,
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: thank you, Steve. Another edition of Steve coming up at
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: the top of the hour. Oh, this is such a
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: sad story right here. South Carolina fifth grader dies after
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: school fight. We'll talk about it right after this. You're
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: listening to show. A fifth grade student in South Carolina
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: has died after a fight at her elementary school this week,
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: a devastating outcome that left her community shocked with grief
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: and spurred a discussion about just how to handle painful
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: issues of bullying and violence in the classroom. This is
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: such a sad story. The student, Ranya Wright, has had
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: gotten into a fight with another fifth grader at Forest
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: Hills Elementary School on Monday in South Carolina, and she collapsed,
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: according to officials. According to officials there, which is about
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: an hour west of Charleston, emergency workers who responded to
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: a nine one one call found Ranya unconsci but breathing
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: at the school nurses station and rushed her to the hospital,
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: the authorities said. By Wednesday morning, her mother said in
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: a Facebook post her baby girl had gotten her wings.
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: It was unclear, yeah, yeah, yeah, it was unclear what
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: led to the fight. The other student was suspended, school
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: officials said, and the authorities are investigating and autopsy is
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: scheduled for today. In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Ranaya's
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: mother suggested that bullying may have been a factor. Now
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: some are saying that teachers don't want to break up
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: the fights or get involved because they might cause injury
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: to a student trying to stop the fight, and they
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: definitely don't want to get sued or lose their jobs.
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: And we got to offer condolences to that family. Sad
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: and office. That's a horrible thing that you send your
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: child to school and your child never comes back. I know,
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: I know, yeah, can you the fifth grade? I mean,
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: my daughter is in the fifth grade, and I just
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: what is going on? Something I think look, I don't
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: have an answer for this, but this is what we've
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: got to do. I think, okay, the cyber bullying, the bully.
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: There has to be a way for a child or
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: a friend of a child to anonymously report this type
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: of stuff. Every school should have several suggestion boxes in it,
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: or email something whatever they would do nowadays, or you
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: can type in anonymously the fact that you may feel
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: like you're being bullied, or you have a friend that's
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: being bullied, and you know, look, you can't get caught
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: up in it yourself, so because you don't want to
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: turn on you, but you gotta have an anonymous way
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: of reporting these incidents. And I understand that the child
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: has an email and may not want to do it
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: because then their name is out there and they got it.
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: But there's a lot of people are here to recognize this,
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: who would get involved if they knew how. We've got
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: to find a way, man to give these children some
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: type of and like I say, look, I don't know
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: the answers, but we gotta give these kids some type
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: of way to reach out anonymously because the problem you
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: got now across this country and hoods and stuff like
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: that it's this ignorant term called snitching, when people don't
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: even understand where snitching came from. That started with inmates,
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: the mob. Gangsters can't do the time, don't do the crime,
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: keep your mouth shut, you don't turn your boy in.
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: So when you get caught, you just gotta eat it.
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: What's happened is in prison you can't turn in an
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: inmate to ad. That's called snitching. So many people have
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: come out of prison that they bought that inmate mentality
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: back to the streets. So now they've enforced a code
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: of ethics that belong to thieves and criminals and made
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: it a part of our everyday society. It has now
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: become the norm. So now snitching is for everybody. If
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: I kill somebody on the block, you bet not snitch
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: on me. So now our neighborhoods become incredibly unsafe because
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: we've taken on the mindset and mentality of the criminal element,
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: which has a no snitching policy. But now because so
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: many criminals are back out on the street, they've taken
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: it to the streets. So now we have a no
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: snitch policy in neighborhoods that police can't solve crimes cause
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: ain't nobody telling, but the people in the neighborhoods are
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: scared to talk because these people are still out there.
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: So it's a catch twenty two. Until people can feel
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: safe about reporting crimes, about reporting incidents, about reporting bullying.
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: We are in this state where now we're losing children
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: to cyber bullying and bullying. We've got to find a
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: way and like I say, I don't know exactly what
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: that is, but we've got to find a safe place
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: where other kids can report it. And the kids is
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: being bully can't report it, yeah, without fear retaliation making
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: it worse. You're right, imagine what these other children in
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: this classroom felt like how they felt. You know, this
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: is terrible. This is terrible. Yeah, it really old years old.
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: This is wow. And then the teachers don't want to
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: get involved because they can possibly hurt the students or
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: get sued or lose their job. That's the other part
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: we have to address. When an adult can't step in
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: to do the right thing without fear of a lawsuit
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: of losing their job, we're in a world of trouble. Yeah,
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: because even if you want to do the right thing,
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: you can't right because a parent's gonna be like, you
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: touch my child and put your hands on my child.
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: It's all of that. Yeah, you know, so from an
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: educated point, this is a This is a crisis. Yeah,
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: this is a crisis. Not the president, right, thank you.
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: While as talking about Jesse Smullett, this dude's ridiculous. Yeah,
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: you have so much other stuff that you need to
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: concentrate on. So much the city of Chicago can handle that,
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: they really can. Yeah, so much stuff. This country needs leadership,
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: so so many issues that are affecting us. I don't
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: know this story really get home to me because I'm
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: a mother of a fifth gador. She not just can't
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: imagine sending your baby, taking dropping your baby off at school.
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: She gets into a fight and two days later she died.
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: This is craziness. Come on people. Yeah, and they don't
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: even know. They're not even sure what led to the fight. No, No,
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: they're not sure. No, not so far. But you know,
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: and so was suspended. Yeah, she became unconscious after the
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: fight was over. Yeah, she collapsed. She collapsed. She collapsed
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: during the fight. She collapsed during the fight. Yeah, she collapsed.
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: She gotten into a fight with the fifth grader. Wow, Um, Yeah, yeah,
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: unconscious but was breathing. We right, we gotta say condolences
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: to her family for their loss, and we got to
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: take a break right here. We'll be back with more
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: of the Steve Harvey Morning Show. And yeah, serious condolences
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: to her family. We have to come together, We gotta
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: come together, Ranya. Right, is that young ladies child's name?
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: Fifth grader? Wow, all right, we'll be back with more
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show right after this. You're listening to
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: people are still talking about the scandal involving the rich
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: parents bribing college officials to get their kids into schools,
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: the best schools. Well, then there was such a thing,
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: as it was called helicopter parenting. This was where parents
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: who parents who hung around all the time making sure
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: their kids were safe. That's called helicopter parenting. Now there's
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: snowplow parenting, Steve. This is this is where parents push
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: every obstacle a kid could possibly have out of the way.
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: They push that out of the way. That's called snowplow
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: parenting like a snowplow would do with the snow. Well, anyway,
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: the parents push every obstacle a kid would have out
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: of the way, and they want to make sure that
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: the kid never has to deal with failure. What huh,
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: don't never deal with Yeah? Come on, come on, Steve, really,
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: really really, if you raise a child to not have
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: to deal with failure, you're creating a failure. Thank you,
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: thank you. That's all you're doing. If you try to
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: raise a child to keep him away from failure, all
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: you're doing is raising a failure because when he goes
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: away from under your care, he's gonna fail. And what
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: happens to a person who fails, who's had it removed
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: his entire life? What's what happens to this person? And
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: then you double the problem because the older you get,
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: your mistakes come with much much dire consequences. So now
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: the mistake you made at fifteen years old that bothered
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: you didn't really hurt you. You can't make that mistake
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: again at twenty five because it's gonna cut you up
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: real bad. So us to magine it. Only it only
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: matters how old you are when you make the mistake.
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: So now when you're twenty five and you're making these
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: mistakes for the first time with no experience at having
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: handling fail you before, what do you think we're gonna
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: be dealing without here, right, your ignorant ass baby. But Steve,
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: why would a parent not want their child to experience
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: the failure? Of course, you want your kids to succeed
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: and be great and do great things. But that's a
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: part of life. That's a part of life. Failure. They
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: don't get it. They don't get it. One. You have
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: got to allow your children to feel and understand and
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: experience the process you got to go through. You got
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: to do something. Lessons in life. You got to learn
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: from those failures and those mistakes. The greatest lessons you
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: learned are from failures. Yeah, my daddy always taught me. Boy,
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: the best lesson ain't no, ain't the best lesson is
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: about when you fire one, when you pay for one. Man.
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: Oh boy, See, let me ask you the question, you guys,
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: do you think it's because as we want to do
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: it differently from how our parents are. My momma, daddy
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: didn't show me this and tell me this and do that,
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: So I'm gonna do it this way for my think
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: they did it right, Carlin. And That's what I'm saying.
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: And we had the hard way, and so we want
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: to make it so easier for our chead and we're
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: making it two easy, right, We're making it too easy,
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: and they've become entitled because yeah, go ahead, you've already
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: given your children a better life than the one you had.
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: What else you want to do, and there's nothing wrong
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: with wanting that for your child, right, and then we
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: all have done it absolutely. I can't tell you yeah better.
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: I can't tell you last time I've seen a kid
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: doing a chore. That's true, child, No, that's true. I'm
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: not saying this just regular. Yeah, all right, we'll be
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: back with more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show right
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: after this. Wash those dishes you're listening to show, all right.
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: In today's entertainment news, the fiftieth annual NAACP Image Awards
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: are this Saturday in Hollywood, hosted by her friend and
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: family member Anthony Anderson. Now, Jesse Smolette is nominated for
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: an NAP Image Award for his work on Empire, and
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: it looks like he will make an appearance there because
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: he is in la He is in la U. Yeah,
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: and he should, yeah, Anthony Anderson told Variety Magazine. He says,
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: I hope Jesse wins. I'm happy for him that the
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: system worked for him in his favor, because the system
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: isn't always fair, especially for people of color. Yes, yes, yes,
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: And other nominees include jay Z. Jay Z will receive
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: the President's Award, Representative Maxine Waters will be honored with
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: the Chairman's Award, and Steve, you're also nominated congratulations for
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: Outstanding Game Show Host for Family Food Yes game yes, yes,
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: uh huh uh huh, look at that. That's wonderful, Steve,
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: that really is. You've been nominated so many? You have
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: how many Image Awards do you have? About a hundred?
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: No more, you have a lot. You have a whole lot.
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: Do Wow, that's a lot, a lot. Yeah, that's a lot. Yeah.
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: But yep, you're nominated this year for Outstanding Game Show
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: Host for Family Feud UMP Image Awards. Well, let's see
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: it's game Yeah, I'm sure. Yeah you know, ain't they
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: My boy Anthony got one. Does he have a game show?
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: Oh yeah, it's a season all yeah, straight straight hand.
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: Oh yeah, those are those are like summer summer replacements
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: shows conduct right, Yeah, a thousand dollars pyramid for Michael
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: Try that's the show. And then to tell the truth,
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: is that Anthony Anderson's because Anthony and his mom is
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: on there stories. Yeah he was dark. Well, um, I'm
- 1:31:32Speaker 1: happy for you, Steve and all of them, you know,
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: congratulations to him all. But we want you to win,
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: you know, if they don't win, call me biased. Yeah,
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: I was glad he ain't gonna be there in case
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: he don't win. The want that. You ain't been back
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: to an award show since that moment. Hey, but remember
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: his speeches. He used to tell people, you know, fix
- 1:31:57Speaker 1: your face, you know, in case the camera's on you
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: if you don't win. He was giving you know, advice
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: to stars and stuff when they shows like he used
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: to do it all the time at the hoodies and
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: uh and yeah, do as I say, right and behold
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: he lost that he was he was nominated for Family
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: Feud against Ricky Lake right a few a few years ago. Yeah,
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: that wasn't it. What was the best game show? It
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: was best game I lost that one too, Best talk
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: show host? I lost that to Lake. I lost best
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: game show to a show to have been counseled. Yeah.
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: But the thing about it is is, though, is that
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: the camera was on your face. Oh my kids, text
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: me your faith too late? All we did. All right,
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: we'll be back with our last break of the day
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: and of the week, and then Steve will give us
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: some closing remarks as well. Right after this you're listening
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: to all right, Steve, here we are last break of
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: the day on this Friday. Uh, let's have some closing remarks.
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: Come on. All right, Here's what I was thinking. I
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: was talking with Junior earlier today in my dressing room.
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: He came in and we were just talking, and you know,
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: we were just talking about just life. It was somebody
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: else's didn't dress room to ask you, man, what was
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: the what was what was a couple of big things
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: that happened in your life? And I was thinking about
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: when I was about twenty years old, twenty twenty one, Yeah,
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: about twenty one, I got into Amwai and Amway was
- 1:33:56Speaker 1: a big moment in my life because they used to
- 1:33:58Speaker 1: have these conventions that you had to hate this money
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: to go to. And I was trying to be a
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: direct distributor and a diamond and an emerald and all
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: of that. And George and Don Hale and they were
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: making so much money and living these wonderful lives. Bill
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: Britt and all these people and I was going, Wow, man,
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: I gotta do that. So I went to a couple
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: of the conferences. There's a lot of rale raw, but
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: it really positive though. They turned me onto two books. Now,
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: nothing is more powerful than the Bible. There's nothing out
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: there comes close to this Bible. Whatever your religious reading is,
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: the Torol, the Koran, That's what I mean when I
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: say that. But they turned me onto two books that
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: changed my life. It was two books. It was the
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peel and the
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: Magic of Thinking Big by David Schwartz. Now, the first
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: book I had read, the ever self help book I
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: ever read, was The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: Vincent Peel. And I gotta tell you something. That book
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: is still for sale today. If you've never read that,
- 1:35:04Speaker 1: you should because it teaches you how to train your
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: mind to think positively. It shows you the power that
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: you can unleash in your own self. This is something
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: you can control. The power of your mind is controlled
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: and operates at its absolute peak performance when it's operating
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: from positivity. You can't beat yourself when you're being positive,
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: not negative. Positive. That book, The Power of Positive Thinking
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: by Norman Vincent Peale began to change my life. Now
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: took a while for me to connect all the dots,
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: but it started me alone the way. I didn't know
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: that I could do it all the time, even when
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: I was feeling dark and gloomy and down, that I
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: could fix it myself. I had to learn that a
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: little bit later on. But you can absolutely fix yourself
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: with the power of positive thinking. That book changed my life.
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: It taught me that these positive thoughts generate positive results. Period.
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: Negative thoughts generate negative results. If your idea of making
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: money is selling doping robbing banks, the result from that
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: of selling doping robbing banks can be nothing but negative.
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: Somebody gonna try to hurt you, you go into prison.
- 1:36:33Speaker 1: That's it. Period. Now, when you think positively, positive things
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: start to come your way. Not to say that nothing
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: bad will ever happen again, because it will, but let's
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: be real. Life is gonna keep coming, but you can
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: handle it. You can deal with it. And if you
- 1:36:53Speaker 1: have a positive outlook, you'll get through that too. And
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: behind every dark cloud there is really really a silver lining.
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: So that was the first book. The second book is
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: called The Magic of Thinking Big by David Schwartz. Oh
- 1:37:10Speaker 1: my goodness. Now, let me tell you what this book
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: did for me. This book changed my life because it
- 1:37:17Speaker 1: told me about the magic of thinking big, that it
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: requires no more brain power to think big than it
- 1:37:25Speaker 1: does small. You don't have to conjure up any more
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: brain sale, no more units to say Volkswagen Rose Royce.
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: They both take the same amount of effort. You can
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: order to food the same way. I'm all the salad,
- 1:37:44Speaker 1: I'm all the chicklings. It don't take no more brain
- 1:37:48Speaker 1: power to think bigger. It's simply a mindset. Now, the
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: combination of these two books really was a game changing
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: for me. And I'm saying it to y'all because sometimes
- 1:38:01Speaker 1: I like reading stuff outside of the Bible. I just
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: really do, just being real with you now, because I
- 1:38:08Speaker 1: like hearing relatable things with today's language in and stuff
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: like that. It just helps me. But both of these books,
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: I'm telling you man was written from basis of the Bible,
- 1:38:21Speaker 1: and it brings just one scripture to mind, that a
- 1:38:24Speaker 1: man is as he thinking. That's a scripture. We'll check
- 1:38:29Speaker 1: this out. The power of positive thinking is directly related
- 1:38:36Speaker 1: to how a man thinks. So once again, the Bible
- 1:38:40Speaker 1: is right. A man is as he thinking. The next
- 1:38:43Speaker 1: book the magic of thinking big. Guess what the scripture says,
- 1:38:50Speaker 1: A man is as he thinketh So, if you're thinking
- 1:38:53Speaker 1: positive and you're thinking big, guess what happens to you?
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: You suddenly can become a very positive big person. Hello,
- 1:39:04Speaker 1: ding ding ding ding ding. The damn bails ought to
- 1:39:08Speaker 1: be going off, folks. Success is a mindset. And let
- 1:39:16Speaker 1: me just throw this in. That's what my Vault conference
