Don Shula’s Forgotten Wins
Joe Rose and Dave Hyde revisit a forgotten piece of NFL history, discussing the league’s old third-place game that was played annually at the Orange Bowl before the Super Bowl era. The guys explain how Don Shula won two of those games, yet the NFL no longer recognizes the victories after reclassifying them as exhibition contests following the AFL-NFL merger. Despite the change, they argue both teams treated the games like meaningful postseason matchups, and Dave shares why he’s on a mission to get Shula the two wins he believes rightfully belong on the legendary coach’s record.
