Latest / The Ben Ferguson Podcast / Minneapolis Shooting: Preventable Tragedy & Justified Force
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: There is one major story that we are going to
- 0:03Speaker 1: deal with extensively. It deals with a woman who is
- 0:06Speaker 1: fatally shot in Minneapolis by Ice and she was shot
- 0:11Speaker 1: through the front of her windshield as she tried to
- 0:14Speaker 1: drive over an ICE agent. There are a lot of
- 0:19Speaker 1: lies online claiming that the ICE agent shut her through
- 0:23Speaker 1: the passenger window. That did not happen. As the car wrecked,
- 0:28Speaker 1: you can clearly see a bullet through the front window.
- 0:32Speaker 1: That bullet hole is extremely important when it comes to
- 0:36Speaker 1: evidence because it shows that that car was driving directly
- 0:40Speaker 1: towards the ICE agent when he had no other choice
- 0:44Speaker 1: but to shoot to protect and save his own life
- 0:47Speaker 1: and others around him. This was preventable. It is also
- 0:52Speaker 1: tragic when someone loses their life. But what also is
- 0:56Speaker 1: preventable is the anarchy that is being advocated and taught
- 1:01Speaker 1: by the left. To be clear, this woman and others
- 1:05Speaker 1: had an essence joined together to follow, to stalk, and
- 1:09Speaker 1: to stop ICE agents from doing their job. If I
- 1:14Speaker 1: don't want to pay my taxes, it doesn't mean that
- 1:17Speaker 1: I can drive my car into well the IRS building.
- 1:22Speaker 1: If I think my tax rate is too high, it
- 1:25Speaker 1: doesn't mean that I can just go after IRS agents,
- 1:29Speaker 1: You go to your members of Congress, you plead your case,
- 1:33Speaker 1: you vote on election day, you get involved and pick
- 1:36Speaker 1: people that you believe are going to side with you.
- 1:39Speaker 1: But what the left has done is they have told
- 1:42Speaker 1: their followers that they can go out and just do
- 1:45Speaker 1: whatever they want to do without any accountability. Which brings
- 1:49Speaker 1: me back to what I said. This was a preventable death,
- 1:54Speaker 1: a death that was inspired by the anarchists on the
- 1:57Speaker 1: left who are advocating for people to literally be vigilantes.
- 2:02Speaker 1: And when you do this, it can cost people their lives.
- 2:06Speaker 1: What's also really sick about this woman losing her life
- 2:10Speaker 1: is the fact that the left is actually excited over it.
- 2:15Speaker 1: They wanted something like this to happen so that they
- 2:18Speaker 1: could then use it to attack Donald Trump and Ice agents.
- 2:22Speaker 1: They were looking for a flash point, whereas Democrats have said,
- 2:26Speaker 1: you never let a crisis go to waste, which brings
- 2:30Speaker 1: me to Christino. Christy No, the woman in charge the
- 2:35Speaker 1: Department of Homeland Security was in Minneapolis, and she had
- 2:40Speaker 1: very clear message for the men and women in uniform
- 2:43Speaker 1: and actually the facts around this case. I want to
- 2:46Speaker 1: play that for you in a moment, But before I
- 2:48Speaker 1: even do that, I want you to also hear what
- 2:50Speaker 1: Jadie Vance said. He put out a tweet a couple
- 2:53Speaker 1: hours ago saying, quote, I want every ICE officer to
- 2:57Speaker 1: know that their President, Vice present and the entire administration
- 3:02Speaker 1: stands behind them. To the radicals assaulting them, doxing them,
- 3:08Speaker 1: and threatening them, congratulations, We're going to work even harder
- 3:12Speaker 1: to enforce the law. Secretary Nome detailing the self defense
- 3:17Speaker 1: shooting in Minneapolis, and here is what she had to say.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Any loss of life is a tragedy, and I think
- 3:24Speaker 2: all of us can agree that in this situation, it
- 3:26Speaker 2: was preventable. I've spoken to the President today on the
- 3:30Speaker 2: situation here on the ground. I also just got off
- 3:32Speaker 2: the phone a little while ago with Governor Walls and
- 3:34Speaker 2: spoke to him as well. I want to reiterate first
- 3:37Speaker 2: with all of you the facts of what happened today.
- 3:40Speaker 2: At ten twenty five am Central time, Immigration and Customs
- 3:44Speaker 2: enforcement were carrying out lawful operations here in Minneapolis because
- 3:48Speaker 2: of the adverse whether that Minneapolis has seen in recent snow.
- 3:51Speaker 2: One of the vehicles became stuck and ensnared in the snow.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Law enforcement were attempting to push out this vehicle and
- 3:58Speaker 2: when a mob of agitators that were harassing them all
- 4:01Speaker 2: day began blocking them in, shouting at them, and impeding
- 4:05Speaker 2: law enforcement operations. ICE officers and agents approached the vehicle
- 4:10Speaker 2: of the individual in question, who was blocking the officers
- 4:13Speaker 2: in with her vehicle, and she had been stalking and
- 4:15Speaker 2: impeding their work all throughout the day. ICE agents repeatedly
- 4:20Speaker 2: ordered her to get out of the car and to
- 4:22Speaker 2: stop instructing obstructing law enforcement, but she refused to obey
- 4:26Speaker 2: their commands. She then proceeded to weaponize her vehicle, and
- 4:30Speaker 2: she attempted to run an law enforcement officer over. This
- 4:34Speaker 2: appears as an attempt to kill or to cause bodily
- 4:37Speaker 2: harm to agents, an act of domestic domestic terrorism. The
- 4:42Speaker 2: ICE officer, fearing for his life and the other officers
- 4:45Speaker 2: around him and the safety of the public, fired defensive shots.
- 4:49Speaker 2: He used his training to save his own life and
- 4:51Speaker 2: that of his colleagues. He was treated at a local hospital,
- 4:55Speaker 2: has been released and is now with family. I encourage
- 4:58Speaker 2: the American people at this point time to pray for him,
- 5:01Speaker 2: but also to pray for the deceased family and her
- 5:04Speaker 2: loved ones. Today alone in this country, there have been
- 5:08Speaker 2: four different domestic terrorist attacks on federal officers by the
- 5:12Speaker 2: ramming of vehicles. Three of them happened here in Minneapolis.
- 5:16Speaker 2: We've seen over one hundred of these vehicle rammings happen
- 5:20Speaker 2: in just recent weeks, and this must stop. ICE alone
- 5:23Speaker 2: is facing a thirteen hundred percent increase in assaults against
- 5:27Speaker 2: them and an eight thousand percent increase in death threats
- 5:31Speaker 2: against all of them. In fact, the very same officer
- 5:34Speaker 2: who was attacked today had previously been dragged by an
- 5:37Speaker 2: anti ICE rioder who had rammed him with a car
- 5:40Speaker 2: and drug him back in June. He sustained injuries at
- 5:44Speaker 2: that time as well. And let me remind you why
- 5:47Speaker 2: we're all here in the city today and why we've
- 5:49Speaker 2: been here in communities across this country and here in Minneapolis.
- 5:54Speaker 2: We're just enforcing the laws that we have in this country.
- 5:57Speaker 2: For years, under President Biden, tens of millions of dangerous criminal,
- 6:01Speaker 2: illegal aliens, terrorists, and suspected terrorists were allowed to invade
- 6:05Speaker 2: our country over our southern border. They were allowed to steal,
- 6:09Speaker 2: to defraud, and to perpetuate violence against American citizens. Regardless
- 6:14Speaker 2: of who your mayor or who your governor is. President
- 6:17Speaker 2: Trump promised every single American that he would make America
- 6:21Speaker 2: safe again. He promised every single American that he would
- 6:25Speaker 2: work to protect them from dangerous criminals. Since Governor Walls
- 6:29Speaker 2: has been in charge of Minnesota, we have seen homicides
- 6:32Speaker 2: go up by over fifty percent. That's also during Mayor
- 6:36Speaker 2: FRI's tenure as well. Since President Trump took office, Governor
- 6:40Speaker 2: Walls has released over four hundred and seventy violent criminals
- 6:43Speaker 2: back onto the streets here in Minneapolis. He has another
- 6:47Speaker 2: six hundred and eighty of them still within his jurisdiction
- 6:50Speaker 2: that he could give to us today to face the
- 6:52Speaker 2: consequences for their crimes. Because Governor Walls and Mayor Fry
- 6:57Speaker 2: refused to protect Minnesotans and instead they protect these criminals.
- 7:01Speaker 2: That's why we are here. And we didn't just show
- 7:04Speaker 2: up yesterday. We've always been here. But we're surging operations
- 7:08Speaker 2: because of the dangerous situation we see in this country
- 7:10Speaker 2: and because we're no longer going to allow illegal criminals
- 7:14Speaker 2: to damage and harm, to kill, to sexually abuse, to
- 7:18Speaker 2: proliferate drugs, and to steal American taxpayers dollars.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Let me just stop there for a moment. You Listen
- 7:26Speaker 1: to what happened in this situation. The woman is ordered
- 7:31Speaker 1: out of her car, she refuses. She then uses that
- 7:36Speaker 1: car and backs it up. She then drives forward literally
- 7:41Speaker 1: into an ICE agent. The Ice agent pulls out, is
- 7:45Speaker 1: gone only when she starts moving towards his body, into
- 7:51Speaker 1: his body. This is self defense. That should be a
- 7:56Speaker 1: simple case close. But you have these radicals on the
- 8:01Speaker 1: left who are sitting there and they are saying that
- 8:04Speaker 1: somehow this was not a justifiable shooting. She proceeded to
- 8:09Speaker 1: weaponize her car. I want to go back to that
- 8:12Speaker 1: with Christy.
- 8:13Speaker 2: No.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Listen again carefully.
- 8:15Speaker 2: At ten twenty five am Central time, Immigration and Customs
- 8:18Speaker 2: enforcement were carrying out lawful operations here in Minneapolis because
- 8:23Speaker 2: of the adverse weather that Minneapolis has seen in recent snow.
- 8:26Speaker 2: One of the vehicles became stuck and ensnared in the snow.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Law enforcement were attempting to push out this vehicle, and
- 8:33Speaker 2: when a mob of agitators that were harassing them all
- 8:36Speaker 2: day began blocking them in, shouting at them, and impeding
- 8:40Speaker 2: law enforcement operations, Ice officers and agents approached the vehicle
- 8:44Speaker 2: of the individual in question, who was blocking the officers
- 8:47Speaker 2: in with her vehicle, and she had been stalking and
- 8:50Speaker 2: impeding their work all throughout the day. ICE agents repeatedly
- 8:55Speaker 2: ordered her to get out of the car and to
- 8:57Speaker 2: stop in obstructing law enforcement, but she refused to obey
- 9:01Speaker 2: their commands. She then proceeded to weaponize her vehicle and
- 9:05Speaker 2: she attempted to run an law enforcement officer over. This
- 9:09Speaker 2: appears as an attempt to kill or to cause bodily
- 9:12Speaker 2: harm to agents, an act of domestic domestic terrorism. The
- 9:17Speaker 2: ICE officer, fearing for his life and the other officers
- 9:20Speaker 2: around him and the safety of the public, fired defensive shots.
- 9:24Speaker 2: He used his training to save his own life and
- 9:26Speaker 2: that of his colleagues. He was treated at a local hospital,
- 9:29Speaker 2: has been released and is now with family. I encourage
- 9:32Speaker 2: the American people at this point in time to pray
- 9:35Speaker 2: for him, but also to pray for the deceased family
- 9:38Speaker 2: and her loved ones.
- 9:40Speaker 1: That is compassion by the Department of Home Security telling
- 9:46Speaker 1: compassionately pray for this woman. Apparently the wife of this
- 9:51Speaker 1: woman was outside the car and filming her while she
- 9:56Speaker 1: was actively blocking ICE vehicles. Apparently, after the shooting, it's
- 10:00Speaker 1: being reported, she ran back to check on Renee. She
- 10:03Speaker 1: tells a near my man, that's my wife. When asked
- 10:06Speaker 1: if she can call family, she says, we're new here.
- 10:08Speaker 1: I don't have people. I can't even breathe right now.
- 10:11Speaker 1: It is incredibly sad to see that the left has
- 10:15Speaker 1: decided to weaponize their own followers and put them in
- 10:19Speaker 1: harm's way. But this was a domestic tear attack in
- 10:24Speaker 1: Minneapolis against ICE agents. Hundreds of ICE agents have been
- 10:29Speaker 1: rammed by cars, which are deadly weapons. Where do you
- 10:33Speaker 1: think they learn to do this to impede to stop
- 10:36Speaker 1: law enforcement, who, by the way, are just doing their jobs.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Senator Mullen put it this way, saying, quote, ICE agents
- 10:46Speaker 1: aren't Disney villains. There are neighbors, friends, and loved ones.
- 10:49Speaker 1: These immigration and customs enforcement officers are red blood American
- 10:54Speaker 1: patriots doing a tough job to keep our nation safe.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Assaults against ICE agents because of the Democratic Party, because
- 11:01Speaker 1: of the Left rop one three hundred percent. He then said,
- 11:05Speaker 1: I stand with DHS Congress Sandy Barr. ICE agents are
- 11:08Speaker 1: enforcing America's laws and delivering exactly what the people voted for.
- 11:15Speaker 1: Secure border and the deportations of dangerous illegal criminals. Targeting
- 11:19Speaker 1: ICE agents will never end well for anyone who tries
- 11:23Speaker 1: homeland security putting it out this way, saying this. Today,
- 11:27Speaker 1: Ice officers in Minneapolis were conducting targeted operations when riders
- 11:32Speaker 1: began blocking Ice officers. In one of these violent rioters
- 11:36Speaker 1: weaponized their vehicle, attempting to run over law enforcement officers
- 11:40Speaker 1: and an attempt to kill them an act of domestic terrorism.
- 11:43Speaker 1: An ICE officer, fearing for his life, the lives of
- 11:46Speaker 1: his fellow law enforcement and safety of the public, fired
- 11:49Speaker 1: defensive shots. He uses training and saved his own life
- 11:53Speaker 1: and that of his fellow officers. The alleged perpetrator was
- 11:56Speaker 1: hit and his deceased. The Ice officers who were heard
- 11:59Speaker 1: or expected to make full recoveries. This is the direct
- 12:02Speaker 1: consequence of constant attacks and demonization of our officers by
- 12:08Speaker 1: sanctuary politicians who fuel and encourage rampant assaults on our
- 12:14Speaker 1: law enforcement who are facing this one three hundred percent
- 12:17Speaker 1: increase in assaults against them and an eight thousand percent
- 12:22Speaker 1: increase in death threats. I couldn't agree more. I could
- 12:27Speaker 1: not agree more with the law enforcement Department of Home
- 12:32Speaker 1: Insecurities saying we are just enforcing the law. We're doing
- 12:36Speaker 1: our job. Why was this woman in a situation where
- 12:40Speaker 1: she thought she could do this. It's very simple. She
- 12:45Speaker 1: didn't want to be held accountable for blocking the Department
- 12:49Speaker 1: of Homeland Security and ICE agents, and she decided she
- 12:53Speaker 1: decided to go after and use her car as a
- 12:57Speaker 1: deadly weapon. The driver refuse us to get out, accelerated
- 13:01Speaker 1: towards the agent directly in front of the car. He
- 13:04Speaker 1: fired rounds, killing her. And the leftists are then promising
- 13:07Speaker 1: violent retribution towards ICE agents, wanting to kill more ICE agents.
- 13:13Speaker 1: By the way, they've already shot ICE agents. I'll give
- 13:16Speaker 1: you an example of what the left's putting online. One
- 13:18Speaker 1: person on x wrote, all ICE agents must be put
- 13:21Speaker 1: down like the dogs they are. This is the Democratic Party,
- 13:26Speaker 1: This is the party of violence. Look no further than
- 13:30Speaker 1: how they reply online to this. Let me say one
- 13:35Speaker 1: final thing. God bless are men and women who are
- 13:40Speaker 1: willing to go do these jobs. They are getting more
- 13:43Speaker 1: and more dangerous. Tim Waltz, the governor of that state,
- 13:47Speaker 1: he called the ICE agents months ago the Gestapo. This
- 13:52Speaker 1: is exactly why stuff happens like this this woman and
- 13:57Speaker 1: around the country. We've seen hundreds of ramming of ICE
- 14:01Speaker 1: agents this year. In the last month, we've seen more
- 14:05Speaker 1: than one hundred ramming with cars of ICE agents. It
- 14:08Speaker 1: results in her life being lost because of the Left
- 14:13Speaker 1: who is inspiring her to go do this and trying
- 14:15Speaker 1: to make her believe that somehow this is acceptable. What's
- 14:20Speaker 1: also shocking is the mayor there, the mayor saying disgusting
- 14:26Speaker 1: things about our men and women in uniform after this happened,
- 14:30Speaker 1: the mayor saying this, and I want you to listen
- 14:34Speaker 1: carefully to the words that he decided to use.
- 14:38Speaker 3: There's little I can say again that'll make this situation better.
- 14:42Speaker 3: But I do have a message for our community, for
- 14:46Speaker 3: a city, and I have a message for ICE to
- 14:51Speaker 3: ICE Get the out of Minneapolis.
- 14:55Speaker 1: That is the Democratic mayor Jacob Fries's message to our
- 14:59Speaker 1: brave ICE agents in Minneapolis who are getting the worst
- 15:02Speaker 1: criminals off of his streets. And this deranged lunatic of
- 15:07Speaker 1: a mayor who is inspiring other lunatics to try to
- 15:10Speaker 1: murder those ICE agents, he says, get the f out
- 15:15Speaker 1: of Minneapolis. The Democratic Party's violent rhetoric is what is
- 15:19Speaker 1: fueling these attacks on ICE agents. And they do not
- 15:24Speaker 1: care about this woman, because if they did care about
- 15:28Speaker 1: this woman, they wouldn't be telling her to go out
- 15:31Speaker 1: and to do this period. And by the way, if
- 15:35Speaker 1: you think that the mayor of Minneapolis is going to
- 15:39Speaker 1: come to his senses and ratchet this down, this rhetoric
- 15:44Speaker 1: which is calling for the attacks on ICE agents, I
- 15:47Speaker 1: want you to listen to the second part of what
- 15:49Speaker 1: he had to say carefully.
- 15:51Speaker 4: People are being hurt, Families are being ripped apart. Long
- 15:55Speaker 4: term Minneapolis residents that have contributed so greatly to our city,
- 16:00Speaker 4: to our culture, to our economy are being terrorized. And
- 16:04Speaker 4: now somebody is dead. That's on you, and it's also
- 16:10Speaker 4: on you to leave.
- 16:12Speaker 1: It's on you, and it's on you to leave. It's
- 16:15Speaker 1: amazing how they care so much about the life of
- 16:18Speaker 1: this woman who tried to run over an ICE agent,
- 16:22Speaker 1: but they don't care the lives about the lives of
- 16:24Speaker 1: those in Minneapolis who have been murdered by the same
- 16:28Speaker 1: exact criminals, or raped or beaten or stolen from They
- 16:35Speaker 1: do not care about those people's lives. They don't care
- 16:42Speaker 1: about the countless people in Minneapolis that have been murdered
- 16:45Speaker 1: by illegal immigrants, and there have been countless. There have
- 16:50Speaker 1: been people that have been killed by illegal immigrants who
- 16:53Speaker 1: were driving drunk or under the influence of drugs. There
- 16:56Speaker 1: are people that have died at the hands of illegal
- 16:58Speaker 1: immigrants because as they sold them fake pills laced with fetanyl.
- 17:03Speaker 1: This is the reality of the situation. Scott Jennings good
- 17:07Speaker 1: friend of mine over at CNN. He went on there
- 17:10Speaker 1: and he said it this way, and I couldn't agree
- 17:12Speaker 1: with him more.
- 17:13Speaker 5: What strikes me is, first of all, it's extremely sad
- 17:16Speaker 5: and unfortunate that someone died. I mean, with political fighting
- 17:19Speaker 5: and disagreements aside, it's terrible. You don't want people to
- 17:23Speaker 5: die in law enforcement situations or otherwise. But it strikes
- 17:27Speaker 5: me that we are undergoing an epidemic of political vigilanteism
- 17:32Speaker 5: right now. Why are people showing up in vehicles in convoys,
- 17:37Speaker 5: not just in Minneapolis, but all over the country in
- 17:40Speaker 5: an effort to obstruct lawful federal law enforcement activities. This
- 17:45Speaker 5: is not an isolated incident. We have had hundreds of
- 17:48Speaker 5: car rammings against ICE agents all over the country. According
- 17:52Speaker 5: to DHS, this lady in this car today, along with
- 17:55Speaker 5: other vehicles, had been tracking ICE agents around. Why are
- 17:59Speaker 5: people believing that they can drive their car into a
- 18:02Speaker 5: federal law enforcement situation? And that is an appropriate thing
- 18:06Speaker 5: to do. I understand they don't like the fact that
- 18:08Speaker 5: these agents are enforcing existing immigration law, but that's not
- 18:12Speaker 5: how we change laws in this country. If you don't
- 18:14Speaker 5: like a law, you talk to the politicians. You don't
- 18:17Speaker 5: drive your car into the middle of a building or
- 18:19Speaker 5: a law enforcement situation that's being occupied by the people
- 18:23Speaker 5: who are simply there to enforce the law. If I
- 18:25Speaker 5: don't like how much the IRS is charging me in taxes,
- 18:28Speaker 5: I don't drive my car into the Treasury Department try
- 18:30Speaker 5: to run somebody over. I call my congressman. Political vigilanteism
- 18:35Speaker 5: is being encouraged by Democratic officials like the Lieutenant governor
- 18:39Speaker 5: of Minnesota, Peggy Flanagan, who earlier this year told people
- 18:42Speaker 5: to quote put your bodies on the line, and Tim
- 18:45Speaker 5: Walls calling these guys gestapo all year. What do you
- 18:48Speaker 5: think happens when you radicalize a base of people about this.
- 18:53Speaker 1: I couldn't agree with him more. We're going to cover
- 18:56Speaker 1: it all every day for you. Make sure you had
- 18:58Speaker 1: that subscribe auto download button, and I will see you
- 19:01Speaker 1: back here tomorrow on the program
