  Thinking today specifically of Romans 6 .1. Romans

  6 .1 says, What shall we say then? Are we to

  continue in sin so that grace may increase? Now

  this comes right on the thought that Paul gave

  about how the law came in so that the offense

  would increase. But then where sin increased,

  grace abounded all the more. So that as sin reigned

  in death, so also grace would reign through righteousness

  to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

  That's leading us up to the end of chapter 5.

  The bottom line is then if you are saved, if

  you are a follower of the Lord, if Jesus Christ

  has paid the price for your sins, he's washed
• 0:35
  you clean, he's regenerated you, saved your soul,

  gave you a new heart, if all that's been accomplished,
• 0:40
  then should you just keep right on sinning? Should
• 0:43
  you just keep right on doing the things that

  God would not want you to do? The answer is clearly
• 0:46
  no. Even though grace would abound and take care
• 0:50
  of it, that is not the point. That's not how
• 0:52
  we're supposed to go. Verse 2 then, he says,

  far from it. How shall we who died to sin sin?

  still live in it. If you were baptized into Jesus

  Christ, if you were baptized into him, you were

  baptized into his death, he died, and then we

  died. Our old self is dead and gone. We can't

  keep living like that anymore. So I would encourage

  you today to live right, do right, be right,

  repent, turn to God, look for the strength, look

  for the hope, the healing, the power that being

  a Christian pertains, brings to you. Get in your
• 1:20
  local church. Care about your brothers and sisters
• 1:22
  in Christ enough to be there under your pastor,
• 1:24
  listening, learning, working, growing.
