- 1:31Speaker 2: How are you?
- 1:31Speaker 1: How are you? Did I miss the thing?
- 1:33Speaker 3: Asked?
- 1:33Speaker 1: Because you know you got a lot to talk about.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Did I miss anything?
- 1:35Speaker 2: You know?
- 1:36Speaker 1: I want to make sure everybody know you are the bomb.
- 1:39Speaker 1: You know when it comes to what we're about to
- 1:40Speaker 1: talk about it, you know, I get a lot of
- 1:41Speaker 1: people to show down. They kind of have the credits
- 1:44Speaker 1: they you know, they'll throw some credits out there, but
- 1:46Speaker 1: you your credits all at the top of the food
- 1:48Speaker 1: chain credits there. You know, how do you feel about that?
- 1:52Speaker 1: When you know you're out there working in your brand,
- 1:54Speaker 1: Because that's what it is all about. You got to
- 1:56Speaker 1: you gotta get gain respect for your brand. Then you
- 1:59Speaker 1: have to put it out there so people can know
- 2:01Speaker 1: about your brand. Because you left Wall Street, tell us
- 2:03Speaker 1: about just update I mentioned any of the credit to
- 2:06Speaker 1: updates about how did you make that decision, because a
- 2:08Speaker 1: lot of people are afraid when they leaveing a solid
- 2:11Speaker 1: base to something that's not so clear.
- 2:15Speaker 2: I think for me, when I never wanted to be
- 2:18Speaker 2: an entrepreneur, I always wanted to be a profound African
- 2:21Speaker 2: American on Wall Street. So after being there, ultimately my
- 2:25Speaker 2: goal was to do something bigger and better. I think
- 2:29Speaker 2: working on Wallstreet, I worked with millionaires and billionaire so
- 2:31Speaker 2: if you had at least twenty five million dollars, it
- 2:33Speaker 2: was our job to manage your money. And after a while,
- 2:36Speaker 2: when you are working with millionaires and millionaires and you
- 2:38Speaker 2: realized that you deserved to be just like the client,
- 2:41Speaker 2: when you're on the other end of the table, you
- 2:43Speaker 2: realize you're not going to get there serving the wealthy people.
- 2:46Speaker 2: And for me, I always actually wanted to be a teacher.
- 2:49Speaker 2: I just never became a teacher because in my mind,
- 2:51Speaker 2: I felt like teachers didn't make a lot of money.
- 2:53Speaker 2: So if I wanted to make a lot of money,
- 2:55Speaker 2: I needed to major in the subject of money, and
- 2:56Speaker 2: I needed to work on Wall Street. But after a while,
- 2:58Speaker 2: I felt like the things that I've was learning, what
- 3:01Speaker 2: I was getting exposed to, so I saw where people
- 3:03Speaker 2: were spending their money, where they were traveling, where they
- 3:04Speaker 2: were living, what they were investing in, and I felt
- 3:06Speaker 2: like you shouldn't have to come from money work in finance,
- 3:09Speaker 2: major in finance to learn how to manage, save, and
- 3:12Speaker 2: invest your money. And so ultimately I just got to
- 3:14Speaker 2: a point where I had a feeling. I knew something
- 3:16Speaker 2: was out there, bigger and better, and I did take
- 3:18Speaker 2: that leap. It wasn't the easiest thing I did. I
- 3:20Speaker 2: did lose a lot along the way, But for me,
- 3:23Speaker 2: it wasn't about the money anymore. It was about what
- 3:26Speaker 2: was the inside of me saying what was my calling?
- 3:29Speaker 2: And I knew that I was there for something bigger
- 3:32Speaker 2: and keeping rich people rich wasn't it. But I needed
- 3:35Speaker 2: that experience to make sure that I had the tools
- 3:37Speaker 2: and resources to educate people who did not get the
- 3:40Speaker 2: same exposure that I was giving up.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Now do you know, because I was driven by money,
- 3:44Speaker 1: I think everybody was driven by money. I remember I
- 3:46Speaker 1: went to college my degrees in mathematics and started out
- 3:48Speaker 1: in civil engineering because I felt that it would pay
- 3:50Speaker 1: me the most money. And I realized that wasn't my calling,
- 3:53Speaker 1: and eventually my degree was in mathematics, my mind was
- 3:56Speaker 1: in sociology. Do you driven by Are you driven driven
- 4:00Speaker 1: about the opportunity to make money?
- 4:03Speaker 2: I don't think I'm driven by either. To be honest,
- 4:05Speaker 2: I think I'm I'm a big proponent of just knowing
- 4:08Speaker 2: that success makes noise because I remember, even when I
- 4:11Speaker 2: left my Wall Street career, people were like, you left
- 4:13Speaker 2: from working with millionaires and billionaires to work with people
- 4:15Speaker 2: who don't have money, and it made me feel like
- 4:18Speaker 2: I was crazy, But in all actuality, I was just
- 4:20Speaker 2: like yes. And for me, I created a space. I mean,
- 4:23Speaker 2: we all say we don't learn about financial education in schools,
- 4:26Speaker 2: but nobody really wants to go put it into the
- 4:28Speaker 2: school system because it's not the norm. For me, it
- 4:31Speaker 2: was like this has to happen, This will happen, and
- 4:33Speaker 2: I'm going to figure out how to make it work.
- 4:35Speaker 2: And then I started to make money. So for me,
- 4:38Speaker 2: I chose happiness over money. And the more I focus
- 4:41Speaker 2: on serving people, the more I focus on doing what
- 4:44Speaker 2: I felt was my purpose driven life calling, the more
- 4:48Speaker 2: money started to come to me. So I created a
- 4:50Speaker 2: space where I would go pitch schools and find out
- 4:53Speaker 2: how they ran their schools, understanding how they ran their
- 4:55Speaker 2: budget to say, hey, let me teach financial education to
- 4:58Speaker 2: these students. I think I created a need that was
- 5:02Speaker 2: once there, but no one knew how to provide that need,
- 5:05Speaker 2: and so in all honestly taste the money. When I
- 5:07Speaker 2: did it, I wasn't happy. So and I realized, let
- 5:10Speaker 2: me just do what makes Ashley happy, because I'd rather
- 5:12Speaker 2: wake up every single day doing what I love and
- 5:15Speaker 2: doing what I love and serving the people that I served.
- 5:18Speaker 2: Opportunities come to me so much more than when I
- 5:21Speaker 2: was just looking to make money, and I think also
- 5:23Speaker 2: to when you're just looking to make money, people can
- 5:24Speaker 2: feel that like I can't teach financial education to people
- 5:27Speaker 2: who don't have a lot of money and then looking
- 5:30Speaker 2: to make money off of them. Now it defeats the
- 5:32Speaker 2: whole purpose of me serving the world that I felt
- 5:34Speaker 2: like God put me here to serve. And so I
- 5:36Speaker 2: found that the more I served, the bigger the opportunities got.
- 5:40Speaker 2: The bigger the opportunities got, the more people saw that
- 5:43Speaker 2: it worked, and the more successful I became.
- 5:45Speaker 1: The whole Your curriculum in schools as a elevated O
- 5:50Speaker 1: fifty different schools. Now, that's ironic that you said you
- 5:54Speaker 1: wanted to be a school teacher, and you left to
- 5:57Speaker 1: be in finance, and now you're back to implementing school.
- 6:00Speaker 1: So you basically are doing what you wanted to do,
- 6:03Speaker 1: but you are controlling, controlling the tone, you know, the
- 6:07Speaker 1: tone of you know in other words, you know, you
- 6:09Speaker 1: create a curriculum that that values your passion and now
- 6:12Speaker 1: you're teaching it as a school teacher would teach your
- 6:15Speaker 1: brand and educate the masses like you wanted to do,
- 6:18Speaker 1: wanted to do. And so when you when you when
- 6:20Speaker 1: you talk about young people, what is the difference that
- 6:22Speaker 1: you find the most unique when you're talking to young
- 6:25Speaker 1: people about money and talking to adults about money.
- 6:29Speaker 2: I think working with kids, there's there. Okay, so when
- 6:33Speaker 2: you're an adult, we were once that child where possibilities
- 6:36Speaker 2: were internet. You're once that that child who thought we
- 6:39Speaker 2: could do, be and have everything. And the more we
- 6:41Speaker 2: grow up, including our experiences growing up with our parents
- 6:45Speaker 2: and our environment, society, the news, we then we then
- 6:51Speaker 2: don't feel like it's possible. So we feel like we
- 6:54Speaker 2: have to go to work every single day because we
- 6:55Speaker 2: have to say build that dream of being happy no
- 6:57Speaker 2: longer exists because we feel like we got to do
- 6:59Speaker 2: a we got to do working with a child, the
- 7:02Speaker 2: possibilities are infinite. Shifting their mindset is infinite, and I
- 7:06Speaker 2: think there's less conditioning when you deal with a child
- 7:10Speaker 2: than it is with adult. Now, it's not impossible with
- 7:12Speaker 2: an adult. You just got to break through a lot
- 7:14Speaker 2: more barriers because they've been told no too many times,
- 7:17Speaker 2: they've been afraid too often. Whereas a child, they still
- 7:20Speaker 2: believe it's possible. A child hasn't seen a bill, So
- 7:22Speaker 2: let me prepare you for what a bill looks like.
- 7:24Speaker 2: But then also show you how you can build wealth
- 7:26Speaker 2: like the people you idolize. But let me start early
- 7:29Speaker 2: so that you don't make the same mistakes that adults
- 7:32Speaker 2: have made in the past. So in all, honestly, it's
- 7:34Speaker 2: it's a lot easier to teach a child because they believe,
- 7:37Speaker 2: and also they're there to learn. They know they're coming
- 7:41Speaker 2: to school to learn, whereas adults, their fear, there's doubt,
- 7:44Speaker 2: there's worried, there's I don't have time. A child, they
- 7:47Speaker 2: don't have those excuses because essentially their kids, they haven't
- 7:49Speaker 2: gotten to that point in life where they where they
- 7:51Speaker 2: would tell themselves no, because society has told them no,
- 7:55Speaker 2: too often important.
- 7:57Speaker 1: That you say that. I would tell people that when
- 7:59Speaker 1: you look at their life when they hit forty and fifty,
- 8:02Speaker 1: that really, when you don't know what you want to
- 8:04Speaker 1: do with your life, just look at look back when
- 8:05Speaker 1: you was eighteen to twenty five. We were feearless when
- 8:09Speaker 1: you had dreams that, like you stated, the dreams of
- 8:12Speaker 1: the impossible, until you start putting up these stops signs,
- 8:14Speaker 1: or you got married, or you went off to the
- 8:16Speaker 1: military assignment, or you just your dreams or I can't
- 8:20Speaker 1: do this because we are very self defeating a race
- 8:23Speaker 1: of people once we reach a certain age, I'm not
- 8:25Speaker 1: going to try to do that. And that's what a
- 8:27Speaker 1: lot of people just kind of like give up, to
- 8:28Speaker 1: give up on how they look in the mirror, to
- 8:30Speaker 1: give them on what they can do, and the car
- 8:32Speaker 1: they drive, the house that live, the neighborhood they live in.
- 8:34Speaker 1: And that really is true because as a young person,
- 8:37Speaker 1: all you see is what I could can be. And
- 8:40Speaker 1: I always tell people I never tell a child what
- 8:42Speaker 1: they can't be. Not if they can't sing, I'll tell them, hey,
- 8:45Speaker 1: you know you can't sing. Now you need to stop
- 8:47Speaker 1: all that manness. Okay, maybe you can rap. Now try
- 8:50Speaker 1: rap it, but you can't sing okay, and you know
- 8:52Speaker 1: you can't dunk. But from a physical standpoint, but from
- 8:54Speaker 1: a mental standpoint, you're unlimited on what you can do
- 8:58Speaker 1: as long as you stay in the lane of what
- 8:59Speaker 1: you're capable were doing, and that's what you were just
- 9:01Speaker 1: implementing right there. That adults tend to doing the teaching process.
- 9:05Speaker 1: They got all these limiteds that they keep putting in
- 9:07Speaker 1: their brain. I don't have enough money to do that.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Oh I don't have time to do that. Why would
- 9:13Speaker 1: I want to do that? While you just telling them how,
- 9:15Speaker 1: they're telling themselves what they can't do. That's really distracting
- 9:18Speaker 1: when you're trying to teach people how to be successful.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Can you get can you can you? Can you get
- 9:23Speaker 1: them to overcome that? Or you just lay down the plan?
- 9:27Speaker 1: And so I'm not going to do it, and a
- 9:29Speaker 1: lot of them are not going to do it.
- 9:31Speaker 2: So I'm a firm believer that things are not taught,
- 9:34Speaker 2: they're caught, and I think when people are ready, they'll
- 9:37Speaker 2: be open to it. So one of the biggest things,
- 9:39Speaker 2: and this is since since I've left my Wall Street career,
- 9:42Speaker 2: I've never solicited what I did. I never said, hey,
- 9:45Speaker 2: I can show you how to make a bunch of money.
- 9:47Speaker 2: Let me show you how to do this. I get
- 9:49Speaker 2: people to a point where they're ready. They've exhausted all options.
- 9:52Speaker 2: They taken the classes they can take, they went to
- 9:53Speaker 2: the bank, they tried to learn everything possible, yet they
- 9:56Speaker 2: don't feel connected to the people that are providing the
- 9:58Speaker 2: information that they need. And it gets to a point
- 10:00Speaker 2: where they say, Okay, I'm frustrated being frustrated, but I
- 10:03Speaker 2: know I deserve to make a change. And ultimately that's
- 10:05Speaker 2: why the word emplithy was community because it's one thing
- 10:08Speaker 2: that gives people education. But in all honesty, everything we
- 10:11Speaker 2: teach you can google it. But the real question is
- 10:13Speaker 2: why don't we take that information off of Google and
- 10:15Speaker 2: actually implement it. That means that there's a mental barrier
- 10:18Speaker 2: that is stopping us from executing on the information we
- 10:21Speaker 2: have access to. And I think it's one thing to
- 10:23Speaker 2: get information, but it's also another thing to get that
- 10:26Speaker 2: with inspiration. And so that's where the empower part of
- 10:28Speaker 2: emplify comes in. The first three letters are E ANDP.
- 10:31Speaker 2: That comes from empower because I can give your resources,
- 10:34Speaker 2: but I need you to feel empowered to know that
- 10:36Speaker 2: you can do something with these resources, no matter where
- 10:38Speaker 2: you are, no matter how much you have, it is
- 10:40Speaker 2: still possible. And then ultimately, when you have that inspiration,
- 10:44Speaker 2: you have the tools and resources, it then changes the
- 10:46Speaker 2: way you see yourself in the role of money in
- 10:48Speaker 2: your life, which is where modify comes from, because that's
- 10:51Speaker 2: where the change takes place. And so ultimately we start
- 10:54Speaker 2: with the mind. If I can change your mind, I
- 10:56Speaker 2: can change your bank account. So we focus on your
- 10:58Speaker 2: thought process. We know what you we know what you're
- 11:01Speaker 2: dreaming of, we know what's uncomfortable for you, and we
- 11:04Speaker 2: literally do the complete opposite of that. And then once
- 11:06Speaker 2: we do that, give you the tools and resources, and
- 11:08Speaker 2: then you realize, hey, I actually can do this. Hey
- 11:10Speaker 2: maybe these beliefs that I have are not in mine.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Maybe society put them in my mind. Maybe my parents
- 11:15Speaker 2: gave me these fears, but they're not my narrative. And
- 11:18Speaker 2: so we take those narratives and those beliefs and we
- 11:21Speaker 2: change the thinking behind the person with the money, and
- 11:23Speaker 2: once you have the tools and resources, you go running
- 11:25Speaker 2: after that.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Ashley and Fox, you know, when I interviewed you a
- 11:31Speaker 1: couple of years ago, you was a bad girl back
- 11:32Speaker 1: then you're on fire. Now you're on fire. I'm just
- 11:37Speaker 1: listened to you going this girl here is you know,
- 11:40Speaker 1: because we all learn. I've learned, I've grown, I've grown
- 11:42Speaker 1: as an interview I've grown as a person my brain.
- 11:45Speaker 1: I know exactly what my brand is and pushing it
- 11:47Speaker 1: in the right direction. And I'm listening to a person
- 11:49Speaker 1: who's really focused, who knows. And I'm not saying you
- 11:52Speaker 1: wouldn't focus when I first interview, but you on fire now?
- 11:55Speaker 1: Tell us what makes you have such a strong comfort
- 11:58Speaker 1: zone and how did you get to this point to
- 12:00Speaker 1: be as comfortable as I'm hearing you speak now? And
- 12:03Speaker 1: as I've been following your brand on social media, every
- 12:06Speaker 1: time an article pops up, I reading about Ashley and
- 12:08Speaker 1: Fox tell us this whole march too, and I know
- 12:11Speaker 1: you're not there where You're trying to get what I do.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Notice a different tone, a different message being spoken by
- 12:17Speaker 1: Ashley and Fox. Am I right?
- 12:20Speaker 2: Absolutely? I think I think as the as I grow,
- 12:25Speaker 2: the company grows. I think There's been a lot of
- 12:27Speaker 2: years of spiritual internal work, a lot of years of
- 12:30Speaker 2: therapy also, and to be honest, me recognizing what my
- 12:34Speaker 2: beliefs were right. One of the biggest things that I've
- 12:37Speaker 2: noticed is while I can sit and say, hey, I
- 12:39Speaker 2: want to be a millionaire, the idea of having a
- 12:41Speaker 2: million dollars actually frightens me. Right, So there's times where
- 12:45Speaker 2: I want to have big dreams, but when I'm presented
- 12:47Speaker 2: with the opportunity, I get scared. I remember when I
- 12:49Speaker 2: got my first six figure contract. It was just this
- 12:52Speaker 2: mind blowing experience, but it was like, hey, you can't
- 12:55Speaker 2: sit here and say you want to be a billionaire
- 12:57Speaker 2: and you're afraid to cash a check for over one
- 12:59Speaker 2: hundred thousand dollars. And so I think as I break
- 13:02Speaker 2: through my mental barriers, as I do more, the company
- 13:05Speaker 2: grows right along with me. So I personally do not
- 13:08Speaker 2: teach anything that I do not do or have not done.
- 13:12Speaker 2: And it's a lot easier because it's not just about
- 13:14Speaker 2: I read a book and I learned how to teach
- 13:16Speaker 2: individuals how to invest in stocks. It's no, this is
- 13:19Speaker 2: how I started, this is what I've learned, and this
- 13:21Speaker 2: is what I do. And let me try to understand
- 13:24Speaker 2: you to make it, to make it easier for you
- 13:26Speaker 2: to understand. And so I think the more I grow
- 13:29Speaker 2: the bigger I get, the more people I served. So
- 13:32Speaker 2: we recently launched our wealth Builders community at I would
- 13:36Speaker 2: have never envisioned me being a black woman in tech right,
- 13:38Speaker 2: but every morning I would wake up, go into the
- 13:41Speaker 2: mirror and say, you are the owner of an ed
- 13:45Speaker 2: tech startup. You are the owner of an app that
- 13:47Speaker 2: impacts thousands of people from all over the world. And
- 13:50Speaker 2: then when it happened, it was just like a oh
- 13:51Speaker 2: my gosh, it's here. But it wasn't about something that
- 13:54Speaker 2: I wanted. It was about who I was. And I'm
- 13:56Speaker 2: a firm believer you don't attract what you want, you attract.
- 13:58Speaker 1: Who you are.
- 13:59Speaker 3: Please don't go anywhere. We'll be right back with more
- 14:02Speaker 3: Money Making Conversations Masterclass. Welcome back to the Money Making
- 14:08Speaker 3: Conversations Master Class, hosted by Grishaan McDonald.
- 14:12Speaker 2: So when I started to believe I deserved six figure contracts,
- 14:15Speaker 2: when I started to look at one hundred thousand dollars
- 14:17Speaker 2: like it wasn't a lot of money, that's when the
- 14:19Speaker 2: money started to come faster. But when I was afraid,
- 14:22Speaker 2: the money was coming slower, when I was afraid I
- 14:24Speaker 2: would lose money, money was coming slower. But if I
- 14:27Speaker 2: knew that I was going to keep going, that this
- 14:28Speaker 2: was going to work, and I'm going to change the world.
- 14:30Speaker 2: When I change my thinking, the company changes. So I
- 14:33Speaker 2: think again. As I grow, the company grows. The bigger
- 14:36Speaker 2: I get, the company gets, and not just me as
- 14:38Speaker 2: an individual or a brand, but my thought process. Like
- 14:41Speaker 2: understanding that, hey, we could make a quarter million dollars
- 14:45Speaker 2: in a month and saying that doesn't frighten me anymore, right,
- 14:48Speaker 2: but at one point, making ten thousand dollars in a
- 14:50Speaker 2: month that scared me at one point. Now it's like
- 14:53Speaker 2: I can't pay my bills with ten thousand dollars. We
- 14:55Speaker 2: got to do bigger team, We got to get better team.
- 14:56Speaker 2: But the more people we impact, the bigger the business
- 15:00Speaker 2: get to. So I focused on serving the people because
- 15:03Speaker 2: if we could serve a billion people, we could make
- 15:05Speaker 2: a billion dollars. And now let's figure out how do
- 15:07Speaker 2: we get to a billion people to reach that mark.
- 15:10Speaker 1: You know, when we started this interview, Ashley said, how
- 15:13Speaker 1: many minutes? I guy, because see, you know she got
- 15:16Speaker 1: something to say. Now, I'm so impressed with your tone
- 15:20Speaker 1: and your leadership in this call, because that's all I
- 15:23Speaker 1: want from individuals who call me on money making conversations
- 15:26Speaker 1: for their message to be heard. And you're absolutely right
- 15:29Speaker 1: unless you believe in something. I know for years, Ashley,
- 15:32Speaker 1: as successful as how I have been in my life,
- 15:35Speaker 1: it wasn't until my forties that I realized that I
- 15:39Speaker 1: accepted my success based on who I was and what
- 15:41Speaker 1: I was capable of doing. I just use phrases like
- 15:44Speaker 1: right place, right time, just lucky, I know somebody, you
- 15:48Speaker 1: knock on wood. All those corny phrases that have nothing
- 15:51Speaker 1: to do with being successful, and people use them all
- 15:54Speaker 1: the time. And what those phrases do. They limit your
- 15:56Speaker 1: capabilities and also limit you and knowledge of what you
- 16:00Speaker 1: really are capable of doing.
- 16:02Speaker 2: And I like you.
- 16:03Speaker 1: I remember in nineteen ninety five of Steve Harvey and
- 16:05Speaker 1: I or Janthon bron we did a concert in the
- 16:08Speaker 1: Music Hall in Houston, Texas, and I was my first
- 16:11Speaker 1: concert to ever promoted, and I had to write a
- 16:15Speaker 1: check to Steve for fifty seven thousand dollars and that's
- 16:20Speaker 1: nineteen ninety five, and I went, I couldn't believe I
- 16:23Speaker 1: was writing that check, just like you couldn't believe you
- 16:25Speaker 1: had a six figure And the thing about it is
- 16:28Speaker 1: that once you believe in understand that this is part
- 16:31Speaker 1: of your life, part of your mantra, part of your mentality.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Then guess what, you could write another check like that.
- 16:37Speaker 1: But if you stop and disbelief and awe and get
- 16:40Speaker 1: giddy like this is not normal. And that's all she's
- 16:44Speaker 1: saying right now, this is the normal way she thinks. Now,
- 16:46Speaker 1: see the people that she was doing these twenty five
- 16:48Speaker 1: million dollars in these billion dollar deals with and all
- 16:51Speaker 1: these people around Believe me, they think a certain way.
- 16:53Speaker 1: And I think a certain way too, because guess what,
- 16:56Speaker 1: I'm successful. So I go on the grocery store. I
- 16:58Speaker 1: don't if I have a coupon, I use it. I'll
- 17:00Speaker 1: tell you that I use it. But guess what, I
- 17:03Speaker 1: just go in the grocery store and shop. And in fact,
- 17:05Speaker 1: sometimes I walked out of the grocery store the other day.
- 17:07Speaker 1: I didn't even know how much I pay for groceries.
- 17:10Speaker 1: I just gave my credit card because that's not part
- 17:13Speaker 1: of my mantra to worry about how much I'm going
- 17:16Speaker 1: to spend. It's the fact that I have money that
- 17:19Speaker 1: can buy it. And that is the mantra that people
- 17:22Speaker 1: have to do. As an adult, you get to that
- 17:23Speaker 1: point you start saying, I can't live in this type
- 17:26Speaker 1: of house, I can't drive this because cause what I
- 17:29Speaker 1: don't have to tax money. I don't what's gonna happen
- 17:33Speaker 1: next year? Well, I don't think like that. I beat
- 17:35Speaker 1: successful people planning next year. They don't think what's not
- 17:39Speaker 1: going to happen next year? If you plan next year,
- 17:41Speaker 1: I'm a six month, I'm a year. The average person
- 17:44Speaker 1: thinks thirty days, and you cannot be successful thinking in
- 17:48Speaker 1: thirty day increments in your life because that means you
- 17:51Speaker 1: worry about the rent, You worry about stuff that you
- 17:53Speaker 1: actually should be controlling by planning. And that's why I
- 17:56Speaker 1: wanted to bring you back on the show because the
- 17:58Speaker 1: mentality you've always talked about has it been about planning, correct.
- 18:04Speaker 2: In abundance. Don't forget abundance.
- 18:06Speaker 1: And when you look at all these things, tell us
- 18:07Speaker 1: a little bit more about your app. And also you
- 18:10Speaker 1: hit it along a built the Wealth Builders community. Talk
- 18:12Speaker 1: a little bit about that so we can get a
- 18:14Speaker 1: good feel and also how can we download that and
- 18:17Speaker 1: also any webinars you have coming up as well as
- 18:20Speaker 1: I always like to use a middle age she kind
- 18:21Speaker 1: of like forgets you sometime.
- 18:25Speaker 2: Thank you. So our wealth Folders Community app. You can
- 18:29Speaker 2: literally go to wealth builders Community dot com. You can
- 18:31Speaker 2: see everything that we offer. So literally, just imagine the
- 18:35Speaker 2: Netflix of finance and the palm of your hands. So
- 18:37Speaker 2: you can go to Netflix. You can find all the
- 18:40Speaker 2: different types of entertainment. Imagine literally saying hey, I want
- 18:44Speaker 2: to learn how to invest? Where can I go? And
- 18:45Speaker 2: it all is in your hands, literally lives in your account.
- 18:49Speaker 2: But here's the beauty of it. You're now going through
- 18:51Speaker 2: this journey not alone, but you're going through it with
- 18:53Speaker 2: thousands of people who are just like you from all
- 18:56Speaker 2: over the world. And I think we can't at this point.
- 18:59Speaker 2: We can't sit the dinner table and talk about learner
- 19:01Speaker 2: how to build well. We can't talk about how your
- 19:03Speaker 2: stock portfolio was up. We don't talk about how we're
- 19:06Speaker 2: investing for our kids to make sure that they're not
- 19:08Speaker 2: taking out seat the loan. We don't have these conversations,
- 19:10Speaker 2: specifically in the African American community. But this should be
- 19:13Speaker 2: our norm, because that is the norm of wealthy people.
- 19:16Speaker 2: They're sitting on their yachts talking about big deals that
- 19:18Speaker 2: they're closing, when in all actuality, that's why they continue
- 19:21Speaker 2: to sustain their wealth. The conversation is different, the thought
- 19:24Speaker 2: process is different, and so ultimately our wealth is community
- 19:28Speaker 2: is an intimate space where you can come together with
- 19:30Speaker 2: people who are just like you on the same journey,
- 19:33Speaker 2: both working professionals and entrepreneurs, where you're learning how to
- 19:37Speaker 2: build wealth brick by brick, layer by layer, where you're
- 19:39Speaker 2: celebrated for your successes. When you're learning how to open
- 19:42Speaker 2: an account, you're processing a transaction, but you're getting advice,
- 19:45Speaker 2: tools and resources not only from experts but also people
- 19:48Speaker 2: who have been in your shoes. But they are growing
- 19:51Speaker 2: every single day because they made well building a choice,
- 19:55Speaker 2: they made it a commitment, and that's ultimately what our
- 19:57Speaker 2: community is about. So we have classes on a weekly bass.
- 20:01Speaker 2: We're literally about to launch our parent Accelerator because a
- 20:05Speaker 2: lot of our members are parents. And during the time
- 20:07Speaker 2: when it's holiday season Q four, we're spending tons of money.
- 20:11Speaker 2: Companies are projected to make billions this holiday season. Why
- 20:14Speaker 2: is it that we're making all these billion dollar businesses
- 20:17Speaker 2: more money and we look up and we still feel
- 20:19Speaker 2: like we have nothing. So we're now literally educating our
- 20:22Speaker 2: adults to say, hey, it's great to buy gifts for
- 20:24Speaker 2: your family, But what about the gifts of wealth? What
- 20:27Speaker 2: about buying your kid that stops in the sneaker company
- 20:29Speaker 2: because you know the kids are gonna want sneakerts on
- 20:31Speaker 2: holiday season, right, But educating the parents to think all
- 20:35Speaker 2: the things your parents need not give you all the
- 20:37Speaker 2: tools and resources you wish you would have had. Let
- 20:40Speaker 2: me show you how to literally educate your children so
- 20:43Speaker 2: that you can build for them. So it's literally like
- 20:45Speaker 2: emplified now with this particular accelerator that we're launching in
- 20:48Speaker 2: our app is now merging both world. We're merging the
- 20:52Speaker 2: connections and the classes that we've done with our youth
- 20:54Speaker 2: and then the classes and the connections that we've done
- 20:56Speaker 2: with the delts, and we're bringing them together. So the classes,
- 20:59Speaker 2: adults will be able to take. Classes will learn how
- 21:01Speaker 2: to open different accountable themselves and their children, how to
- 21:04Speaker 2: put their kids through college. But also now we're giving
- 21:06Speaker 2: a resource on this is how you can also do
- 21:08Speaker 2: this with your kids. Not just for your kids, but
- 21:11Speaker 2: this is how you can do it with your kids,
- 21:12Speaker 2: bring your family. So now we'll have classes where kids
- 21:14Speaker 2: can participate, and all of these things will live in
- 21:16Speaker 2: the app, and I think it's during the time where
- 21:19Speaker 2: we're spending so much. Now, let's literally train our minds
- 21:22Speaker 2: to look at opportunities. I know, if everybody's going to
- 21:25Speaker 2: be spending their holiday season, I need to own these
- 21:27Speaker 2: companies that are making billions of dollars during a holiday season.
- 21:30Speaker 2: And it's literally rewiring the thought process of our community.
- 21:34Speaker 2: And it's been phenomenal. It's been a few months now.
- 21:38Speaker 2: It's in the app store, will Google download and Apple download.
- 21:41Speaker 2: You can get access to on your iPad or your computer.
- 21:43Speaker 2: But literally, wealth builders dot com wealth builders Community dot
- 21:47Speaker 2: Com is where you can see everything that we offer.
- 21:50Speaker 2: There's tons of everything that we give, but it all
- 21:53Speaker 2: actually while the twenty four to seven, three fifty five,
- 21:55Speaker 2: access to classes all the time, all day, every day,
- 21:58Speaker 2: discussion loads that we're giving out now, Like there's just
- 22:02Speaker 2: tons of things where it's like a secret society of
- 22:04Speaker 2: wealth builders where you can't step outside and go to
- 22:06Speaker 2: the bank, but you can go here and get the
- 22:08Speaker 2: tools and resources in a simple and easy to understand
- 22:11Speaker 2: language that doesn't speak to you but threw you a
- 22:14Speaker 2: into you.
- 22:15Speaker 1: Wow, Ashley and Fox, you've given me twenty nine minutes
- 22:20Speaker 1: of your time. You are specially thank you. Please give
- 22:25Speaker 1: me some banners so I can post it on my
- 22:27Speaker 1: social media. You know, I got like a million social
- 22:29Speaker 1: media followers and namey two thousands of fanclub members, and
- 22:32Speaker 1: I promote you.
- 22:33Speaker 2: I love what you do.
- 22:34Speaker 1: I learned and then what you've done for me. It's
- 22:37Speaker 1: like a little free sessions. Sessions she's given me. I
- 22:40Speaker 1: could now walk away confident. But that's what you do, Ashley,
- 22:43Speaker 1: and continue to do it. And I always know that
- 22:44Speaker 1: you drop something, you can contact me, contact my staff,
- 22:48Speaker 1: or contact me directly because I would do anything for you.
- 22:50Speaker 1: You're that special to me. And to hear your tone,
- 22:53Speaker 1: to hear the leadership in your voice, the confidence in
- 22:56Speaker 1: your voice. I know you found your brand now you're
- 23:00Speaker 1: just building it out. That's what excites me so much
- 23:02Speaker 1: because of the fact that I've been watching you looking
- 23:05Speaker 1: at your sessions and you drop dimes and people liking
- 23:08Speaker 1: you what you hear of you, and you get nice
- 23:10Speaker 1: views on your videos when you drop those. You have
- 23:13Speaker 1: a voice and people want to hear what you have
- 23:14Speaker 1: to say, and you're smart. And I just want to
- 23:16Speaker 1: wrap up something I saw it earlier. You know you
- 23:18Speaker 1: mentioned in your credits you'r how university graduates?
- 23:22Speaker 3: How have you?
- 23:23Speaker 1: It's been such a I think a profound moment during
- 23:26Speaker 1: this pandemic to see how HBCUs have been so recognized
- 23:30Speaker 1: and donations have come in from private sector to HBCUs.
- 23:35Speaker 2: What what what? What? Why have? Why? What has?
- 23:38Speaker 1: What did the hpc you do for you? I guess
- 23:40Speaker 1: I want to ask and why it's so important that
- 23:43Speaker 1: people should know the value of an HBCU and it's
- 23:46Speaker 1: educational principles.
- 23:49Speaker 2: For me personally, Especially at that time, I knew I
- 23:53Speaker 2: wanted to be I wanted to go to an HPCU
- 23:55Speaker 2: because I wanted to be surrounded by African Americans. But
- 23:59Speaker 2: I also wanted to go to the vest HBCU that
- 24:02Speaker 2: supported the career trajectory that I was on. So I
- 24:05Speaker 2: knew at Howard I wanted to be on Wall Street.
- 24:07Speaker 2: I found out how much they paid. During summer internship,
- 24:10Speaker 2: Howard taught me how to eat, how to dress, how
- 24:13Speaker 2: to do interviews, how to build a resume, how to golf.
- 24:16Speaker 2: It was so many things that I knew would equipped
- 24:18Speaker 2: me for the industry that I was going in, and
- 24:21Speaker 2: I wanted to be the center of attention. I wanted
- 24:24Speaker 2: to be the center of the love that was felt.
- 24:26Speaker 2: And I feel like an HBCU gave that to me.
- 24:28Speaker 2: So I was surrounded by individuals with the same mindset,
- 24:32Speaker 2: with the same goals, with the same vision for themselves.
- 24:34Speaker 2: And I wanted to be around excellence. And I think
- 24:37Speaker 2: I knew at that point in my life I wanted
- 24:39Speaker 2: to feel supportive, love and nurture and I had the
- 24:42Speaker 2: opportunity to do that in a black environment and a
- 24:44Speaker 2: precedious environment. I knew it was a no brainer that
- 24:46Speaker 2: I needed to go to Howard University. Plus I didn't
- 24:48Speaker 2: want to go too too far from home because I'm
- 24:50Speaker 2: from Philly, but I also did want to leave Philadelphia
- 24:53Speaker 2: and Ivy League just wasn't what I wanted. I wanted
- 24:56Speaker 2: to be around the culture of the environment, the love,
- 24:59Speaker 2: and the support, but also have that intentionality around grooming
- 25:03Speaker 2: a black woman who wanted to enter into a Wall
- 25:06Speaker 2: Street space. And I loved everything that how we'd gave
- 25:09Speaker 2: it to prepare me for my Wall Street career.
