0:45
Speaker 1: the one you will hear today, will provide you, as
0:47
Speaker 1: a consumer and the business owner, access to the celebrities.
0:50
Speaker 1: She's one of those. She's a CEO, she's an entrepreneur,
0:53
Speaker 1: and most importantly, she's an industry decision maker. My next
0:56
Speaker 1: guest is Laurie and Gibson. She's an Emmy nominating creative visionary, choreographer, director, producer,
1:03
Speaker 1: and entrepreneur. Her new book is Dance Your Dance. Eight
1:07
Speaker 1: Steps to leash your passion and live your dreams. The
1:09
Speaker 1: book was packed with personal antidotes and messages of empowerment.
1:13
Speaker 1: Dance Your Dance highlights Gibson's evolution from a young dancer
1:17
Speaker 1: training in New York City to a well respected, in
1:19
Speaker 1: demand industry leader with an eye for cultivating music artists
1:23
Speaker 1: from the ground up. The book unveils the ultimate blueprint
1:26
Speaker 1: to achieving your dreams, a blueprint she's implemented to develop
1:30
Speaker 1: some of the world's greatest superstars, including Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj,
1:34
Speaker 1: Katie Perry, and the Jonas Brothers, among others. Please welcome
1:38
Speaker 1: to Money Making Conversation for the very second time. She's
1:40
Speaker 1: a good friend of mine to have on this show
1:42
Speaker 1: and I'm happy to promote her new book. Laurie Anne Gibson,
1:44
Speaker 1: How are you doing? Ms Gibson, Hi, You're fantastic. Thank
1:50
Speaker 1: you for having well. First of all, you know, welcome
1:52
Speaker 1: to my new studio. I want to because last time
1:55
Speaker 1: we did to be a podcast and we didn't get
1:56
Speaker 1: to see each other. But you know, life is changing
1:59
Speaker 1: a good way, and a lot of success that you've
2:01
Speaker 1: had in despite the COVID nineteen, How did they de
2:05
Speaker 1: affect your life or the COVID nineteen the pandemic, and
2:08
Speaker 1: how did that impact you in and pro motivated you
2:11
Speaker 1: for Well? The interesting thing is I was told when
2:15
Speaker 1: it was first happening that creatives would excel, and I
2:20
Speaker 1: kept hearing this and I kep saying to myself, I think,
2:23
Speaker 1: I think, I think that's right. You know, when everything
2:26
Speaker 1: shuts down, when people's idea of what it takes to
2:29
Speaker 1: make it shift, that's when we do excel. And I
2:32
Speaker 1: have the opportunity to really dig into the book and
2:36
Speaker 1: understand the purpose in the book. So I was able
2:40
Speaker 1: to take more time to really flush out my methodology
2:44
Speaker 1: that I used in helping big superstars becoming their very best,
2:49
Speaker 1: and I was able to inspire it in eight steps
2:52
Speaker 1: to unleash your passion and live your dream. So for me,
2:55
Speaker 1: COVID was a blessing. There was an opportunity to shift
3:00
Speaker 1: and shift and be prepared for what's ahead of us.
3:03
Speaker 1: And part of that is shifting the narrative and creating
3:07
Speaker 1: inspiration and actual transformation and how people dance their dance
3:12
Speaker 1: and no one else's well, you know, I definitely want
3:14
Speaker 1: to I want to walk you through you telling your story. Right.
3:19
Speaker 1: I read the book, enjoyed the book. I read a
3:21
Speaker 1: lot of motivational book, a lot of books, said uh,
3:23
Speaker 1: but each book and fascinating. Read your book because you
3:27
Speaker 1: have to share personal personal angles, and sometimes you're not
3:31
Speaker 1: happy to share those angles, like your relationship we had
3:33
Speaker 1: with the the Greek restaurant owner as a young girl.
3:36
Speaker 1: You you know, you share it and later on you
3:39
Speaker 1: realize us the food. But that's part of the process.
3:42
Speaker 1: It didn't destroy you. And and one of the big
3:44
Speaker 1: things that you say, life is a dance, and I
3:48
Speaker 1: bring that moment up that was emotionally dark for you.
3:51
Speaker 1: But life is a dance. Explain why you say life
3:54
Speaker 1: is a dance in your book. Life is a dance
3:57
Speaker 1: because it's about different rhythms, it's about different steps that
4:01
Speaker 1: you have to take. And again, I believe greatness is
4:04
Speaker 1: in the process. It's not overnight, it's not an insta
4:08
Speaker 1: it's in the process of becoming, of shedding and receiving
4:13
Speaker 1: and building. So for me, it was dark, but I
4:17
Speaker 1: was faced with the opportunity to overcome insecurities. I talked
4:22
Speaker 1: about step four staying in there yet, so that means
4:27
Speaker 1: to me when I faced the adversity, when I faced
4:30
Speaker 1: the feeling of being in a position where I was
4:34
Speaker 1: vulnerable in the relationship with the restaurant owner, he did
4:38
Speaker 1: approach me in a sexual manner, and I was uncomfortable
4:41
Speaker 1: that I wasn't ready to receive it. It didn't align
4:45
Speaker 1: itself with the feeling of my dream, and I talked
4:48
Speaker 1: about that being a flag, something that redirects you to
4:53
Speaker 1: what will help cultivate your dance and create the confidence
4:58
Speaker 1: that you need to sustain what it is you have
5:02
Speaker 1: to endure in order to live the dream. Um So
5:06
Speaker 1: it was difficult. When I did the audio book and
5:09
Speaker 1: I heard myself speaking the experience, I was like, Oh
5:14
Speaker 1: my god, You're gonna find out things about me, And
5:18
Speaker 1: for a moment, I was like, did I write this
5:20
Speaker 1: and is this really coming out? Very quickly, I understood
5:25
Speaker 1: that my passion to connect directly with entrepreneurs and visionaries
5:31
Speaker 1: as a result of what I went through. It gave
5:33
Speaker 1: me revelation to write the steps in order for them
5:36
Speaker 1: to not only be inspirational, but effective that you could
5:41
Speaker 1: go back to a step when you were faced with
5:43
Speaker 1: the challenge that would take you out of your dance,
5:47
Speaker 1: out of your rhythm, and ultimately making it longer for
5:51
Speaker 1: you to achieve that goal. So it was worth it
5:54
Speaker 1: in the end because I was able to write a
5:56
Speaker 1: book that would be effective for visionaries. The thing about
6:00
Speaker 1: it is that it's effective in a lot of ways
6:03
Speaker 1: because you have to be honest with these books. I
6:04
Speaker 1: always I hate reading books to tell you how to
6:08
Speaker 1: be wealthy, but they don't have money in the bank,
6:10
Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. And so you can't tell
6:12
Speaker 1: somebody how to be successful if you can't tell them
6:14
Speaker 1: how you came out of a dark moment or you
6:16
Speaker 1: came down from the base of the mountain to climb
6:19
Speaker 1: that mountain. And that's what your book is. But throughout
6:21
Speaker 1: the book, you know, you talk about your dad was
6:24
Speaker 1: an electrician. You've born in Canada Ja Jamaican immigrants. You
6:27
Speaker 1: know your mom worked at zeros, but that was enough passion,
6:31
Speaker 1: you know. And the thing I like about it is
6:33
Speaker 1: that like your mom's passion was to be a fashion
6:35
Speaker 1: design and her mom said no, that just an impossibility,
6:39
Speaker 1: and then Mr Christopher and dance school, you talk about
6:42
Speaker 1: those dream killers when and and like you might hear,
6:46
Speaker 1: I always tell people you know that leave with your gifts.
6:49
Speaker 1: Don't let your friends, family members, or your age stop
6:52
Speaker 1: you from living your dreams or planning your life. I
6:55
Speaker 1: say that all the time. And that's basically the mantra
6:58
Speaker 1: for your book. And I love it because of the
7:00
Speaker 1: fact that a dream killer tried to stop you as
7:02
Speaker 1: a young dancer because you didn't fit the structure or
7:05
Speaker 1: the physical structure of a ballerina. Talk about dream killers
7:09
Speaker 1: because we encounter them and guess what they are clothed
7:12
Speaker 1: in so many different disguises, as loved ones, as children,
7:17
Speaker 1: as as religious leaders. That's what this book. I got
7:21
Speaker 1: excited when I started reading that part of because I said,
7:23
Speaker 1: she gets it, and she's telling the truth exactly. And
7:28
Speaker 1: I'm very humbled by the fact that you do get
7:30
Speaker 1: it because that's very special to me, because that is
7:34
Speaker 1: the goal, that is the intention, and I think too
7:39
Speaker 1: many people are afraid to talk about the process, and
7:43
Speaker 1: they're afraid to let you know that there will be
7:45
Speaker 1: a fight. There are dream killers, and there is a fight,
7:51
Speaker 1: and through the fight once you persevere and you hang
7:55
Speaker 1: onto the feeling of your dream, it will produce what
7:59
Speaker 1: you need to endure the time that you need to
8:03
Speaker 1: become the dream. So a lot of people don't talk
8:09
Speaker 1: about the Dream Killers because there is a lack of
8:16
Speaker 1: conversation about the fight and about the process. But here's
8:21
Speaker 1: a book that is unafraid to talk to you while
8:24
Speaker 1: you're in the process, to celebrate you while you're in
8:28
Speaker 1: the process, to inspire you to dance your dance and
8:33
Speaker 1: not someone else's, and that the fight will be there.
8:36
Speaker 1: But it's the fact that I had to get back up,
8:39
Speaker 1: that I had to bob and we've dodge and turn,
8:43
Speaker 1: and through dancing my dance, it created a confidence, a clarity,
8:48
Speaker 1: a level of perseverance, and a level of clarity that
8:52
Speaker 1: would enable me to stand strong now at the best
8:57
Speaker 1: and biggest time of my career. And I think some
9:00
Speaker 1: people like to just talk about the glossiness. They're afraid
9:03
Speaker 1: to say. I was curled up in a ball after
9:06
Speaker 1: I got, you know, in a big fight with Boffy
9:09
Speaker 1: on making the band. I was curled up in the
9:11
Speaker 1: ball after I left my pop star at the biggest
9:13
Speaker 1: moment in her career. But it's those moments where I
9:16
Speaker 1: had to hang onto the feeling of the dream and
9:19
Speaker 1: define myself by staying in my yes. And so if
9:23
Speaker 1: you're at the position and the business doesn't look like
9:26
Speaker 1: it's about to prosper, but you have this feeling of
9:29
Speaker 1: the dream, then you have to take the opportunity to
9:34
Speaker 1: stay in your yes and hang onto that dream and
9:37
Speaker 1: go through the pain, get back up, choose to fight,
9:42
Speaker 1: choose to train again, choose to take another route. But
9:46
Speaker 1: refused to give up, refuse to give up. I want
9:51
Speaker 1: the narratives to change. Refused to give up. Well, Lorien,
9:54
Speaker 1: how do I do that? I'm facing eviction. Face it.
10:00
Speaker 1: Once you face it, and you acknowledge that your dream
10:03
Speaker 1: is bigger than the eviction, that the feeling of the
10:05
Speaker 1: dream is bigger than the eviction. Notice, then you will
10:09
Speaker 1: find a way out because you've chosen your dance over
10:13
Speaker 1: somebody else's dance, and so the dream killers are there
10:19
Speaker 1: to force you to dance your dance. You get it
10:23
Speaker 1: from the visionary perspective. Why am I facing this? Why
10:28
Speaker 1: did the door close? It closed? Because that is not
10:33
Speaker 1: in alignment with the feeling of my dream. That door
10:37
Speaker 1: ultimately wasn't going to create the greatness in me or
10:42
Speaker 1: produce the greatness in me. Wow. You know the thing
10:46
Speaker 1: about greatness, it's a word that's used a lot now
10:49
Speaker 1: because of the pandemic, the word pivot. And when you
10:54
Speaker 1: read this book, you the queen of pivoting. You know
10:56
Speaker 1: you are. When you got on that bus with your
10:59
Speaker 1: third teen thousand plus dollars and thirteen thousand was going
11:03
Speaker 1: to your tuition at an a Lee, you know, and
11:06
Speaker 1: the rest was going to you don't know where. That
11:08
Speaker 1: was your pivoting moment because there was no destiny. But
11:10
Speaker 1: when you got there, you you balanced to pivoty. That's
11:13
Speaker 1: what I'm saying is that, you know, I laugh at
11:16
Speaker 1: my life because I a lot of terms I just
11:19
Speaker 1: naturally didn't did in my life. They are common terms
11:22
Speaker 1: now branding pivoting. You were you know, uh dream book
11:28
Speaker 1: boards and stuff that people put on that's you. But
11:31
Speaker 1: you did it naturally. Talker walk us through those steps,
11:34
Speaker 1: you know, even till the discovering the world of hip hop,
11:37
Speaker 1: that was a pivot moment for you. You didn't come
11:39
Speaker 1: to New York to be a hippop d answer and
11:41
Speaker 1: so so talk about the power of pivoty naturally before
11:46
Speaker 1: it became a term that people use like it's something
11:49
Speaker 1: that was discovered overnight. They just, well, pivoty you when
11:52
Speaker 1: you did it? In this book tells you how you
11:54
Speaker 1: did it. They weren't act the time when you were pivoting.
11:58
Speaker 1: They were not You were doing it by yourself as
12:00
Speaker 1: a young lady in New York City. I lived in
12:02
Speaker 1: New York City when eighty nine. I was there in
12:05
Speaker 1: a D eight I lived And when you talk about
12:07
Speaker 1: the railroad apartment, I lived in the apartment where guess what,
12:10
Speaker 1: I looked at the window. The garbage truck stopped every night,
12:13
Speaker 1: woke me up at three am. I got right below
12:15
Speaker 1: my window, got killed. I to go shower with ten
12:18
Speaker 1: other people because guess what, there was a giant shower.
12:20
Speaker 1: So I know exactly the struggle when you talk about pivoty,
12:24
Speaker 1: you have to do some things that guess what, Duden
12:27
Speaker 1: you tell the story because goof what God has allowed
12:29
Speaker 1: you with your faith to be able to tell this story.
12:32
Speaker 1: But let's talk about pivoty when it was not something
12:35
Speaker 1: you could read in the book, that you had to
12:37
Speaker 1: go just on your faith, your belief in your dreams.
12:42
Speaker 1: Oh my God, that's so beautiful what you just said,
12:46
Speaker 1: because basically you said it for me, and I'm so
12:50
Speaker 1: grateful that you have felt the purpose of the book
12:55
Speaker 1: Evening is a dance move. It is changing the direction
12:58
Speaker 1: and headed into a better flow. I start out in
13:03
Speaker 1: the book talking about step one, dare to dream. And
13:07
Speaker 1: I used the word dare because when you're producing something
13:11
Speaker 1: that hasn't been done before, you won't see it in
13:14
Speaker 1: the world. You won't see the reflection because you are
13:20
Speaker 1: the very thing that you're looking for. It's in you.
13:23
Speaker 1: So there isn't dare. There isn't a risk to dream.
13:27
Speaker 1: But I talked about it early so we can get
13:29
Speaker 1: it out the way, and so you can establish a
13:32
Speaker 1: confidence in the passion and in the dream, so that
13:36
Speaker 1: you can hang onto that feeling when a pivot hits you.
13:40
Speaker 1: So when I went to New York and I thought
13:43
Speaker 1: I was studying at alban Elly, and all of a
13:45
Speaker 1: sudden I went to a hip hop audition and I
13:47
Speaker 1: began to feel something more and there was a pivot.
13:52
Speaker 1: But yet I was like, how can I do hip hop?
13:54
Speaker 1: When I was studying technical dancer, I thought I was
13:57
Speaker 1: supposed to be at alban Elly but in trusting the
14:00
Speaker 1: feeling of the dream, I realized that I had to
14:03
Speaker 1: pivot because it wasn't just about dancing his great works.
14:08
Speaker 1: It was about being inspired by Alvan Elly, J. Jamison,
14:13
Speaker 1: Katherine Dunham. It was the fact that when I first
14:15
Speaker 1: saw Ali, I saw a man who spoke about tribulation
14:21
Speaker 1: and oppression through dance. I realized that his work as
14:25
Speaker 1: a visionary was what was speaking to my purpose, to
14:29
Speaker 1: my soul. It was moving me towards me understanding how
14:33
Speaker 1: to create movement and artists that would speak to the circumstance.
14:39
Speaker 1: So the pivot was necessary. And so the fact that
14:44
Speaker 1: we're even talking about the pivot from a real place
14:46
Speaker 1: like it's gonna feel uncomfortable. There will be a moment
14:52
Speaker 1: where you're out there and you have no confirmation that
14:55
Speaker 1: the pivot is right. But what you do know is
14:59
Speaker 1: where you were didn't feel like all you could be,
15:04
Speaker 1: which is why you have to hang onto the feeling
15:06
Speaker 1: of the dream, because it's in the pivot that there
15:08
Speaker 1: will be a moment where you're sustaining evidence of that
15:12
Speaker 1: dream and you're becoming it. And so to be able
15:16
Speaker 1: to pick up a book that will give you strength
15:19
Speaker 1: during your pivot or while you're pivoting is key because
15:25
Speaker 1: God gives each enevt one of us a different dreams
15:28
Speaker 1: so that we can help each other to further empower
15:32
Speaker 1: each other, so that we could live our perfect dreams
15:36
Speaker 1: are individual dreams. So I think the pivot is not
15:40
Speaker 1: something that's just to be taken lightly. Oh, it's easy.
15:44
Speaker 1: Go ahead and pivot and don't feel nervous. Go have
15:47
Speaker 1: it and pivot and don't feel sick in your stomach
15:50
Speaker 1: when you're walking away from your nine to five to
15:53
Speaker 1: open your own business. No, understand that those are all
15:58
Speaker 1: flags that are directing you directly into the dream. And
16:02
Speaker 1: it is scary. You do have to dare to dream,
16:05
Speaker 1: but you already established that in step one. So continue
16:10
Speaker 1: to dance because the next step will present itself. You'll
16:13
Speaker 1: get confident in the idea that pivoting needs to the
16:18
Speaker 1: evidence of what you will become, and it will get
16:20
Speaker 1: easier to dance those pivots. It's finally here, the season
16:25
Speaker 1: of celebration, and no matter how you celebrate with family

Speaker 1: interesting about your book. I I I turned Mr Christopher.
18:26
Speaker 1: Every time a dream killer came in your life, it
18:28
Speaker 1: was Mr Christopher. You know what I'm saying. So the
18:30
Speaker 1: two so be patient with me. Like the Mr Christopher
18:33
Speaker 1: started way in your life and you ignored him, and
18:35
Speaker 1: I called the restaurant owner. He's a Mr Christopher, Okay,
18:40
Speaker 1: the person who who basically parted you and you missed
18:45
Speaker 1: out on that opportunity in the Malcolm X movie, that
18:47
Speaker 1: was a Mr Christopher. How do we recognize the Mr
18:51
Speaker 1: Christopher's in our world because your book talks about them.
18:54
Speaker 1: We call them dream killers. There are individuals, these dream killers,
18:58
Speaker 1: and they are people that sometimes you don't recognize them,
19:01
Speaker 1: but they came into your life. You didn't let them win.
19:05
Speaker 1: They I call emotionals. They were never physical setbacks because
19:09
Speaker 1: you have your health. They were emotional moments. Say, but
19:12
Speaker 1: you learn from you talk about how you learned. But
19:15
Speaker 1: the thing I like consistently about your book, hard work
19:20
Speaker 1: was never something you ran away from you. You admitted
19:24
Speaker 1: your thoughts, you admitted your errors, and you were responsible
19:28
Speaker 1: towards correcting them in another situation. And just talk about
19:33
Speaker 1: that because I think that's important because a lot of
19:35
Speaker 1: people when they make mistakes. Your book discusses how to
19:39
Speaker 1: overcome or not let that mistake win, because it's a
19:42
Speaker 1: mistake that we all can make. Talk about that. Yeah,
19:46
Speaker 1: I call them mishaps. You know, you follow out the dance,
19:49
Speaker 1: you follow out the aid cap, but as a result
19:53
Speaker 1: of the falling, something in you gets louder. The voice
19:58
Speaker 1: of the dream, the feeling of the dream. Now you're
20:00
Speaker 1: able to hear it because you're in a misstep. So
20:03
Speaker 1: now you're like Okay, I'm acknowledging it as a misstep
20:07
Speaker 1: because I don't feel good making that decision. I didn't
20:11
Speaker 1: feel good being late. I didn't feel like what was
20:14
Speaker 1: inside of me was aligning itself with what Mr Christopher said.
20:21
Speaker 1: He said I couldn't be a ballerina. My feet were
20:24
Speaker 1: too flat, my back was arch. He literally said that
20:28
Speaker 1: I wouldn't be a great dancer. But my dream told
20:32
Speaker 1: me different. The feeling inside of me told me different,
20:35
Speaker 1: and I hung on to that feeling, and as a
20:38
Speaker 1: result of me being obedient to that feeling, I wasn't
20:41
Speaker 1: afraid of the work that I needed to develop that
20:46
Speaker 1: level of ability. I talked about training to sustain, getting
20:50
Speaker 1: as much information as you need to be able to
20:53
Speaker 1: persevere through a dream killer. It's the training, It's the
20:57
Speaker 1: work you put into becoming that sustains you when someone
21:02
Speaker 1: doesn't see what it is you're meant to become. Because
21:06
Speaker 1: you're the one of the ones, You're a prototype. So
21:10
Speaker 1: how how was Mr Christopher supposed to me? He never
21:15
Speaker 1: saw a young black girl with that much belief, power
21:19
Speaker 1: and authority when she danced. He was in a very
21:23
Speaker 1: ignorant phase of his dance. So I tell those people too,
21:28
Speaker 1: that our dream killers to get out of their period
21:32
Speaker 1: of oppression and rejection to the greatness and others because
21:36
Speaker 1: they're ruining their own greatness in themselves. But the most
21:40
Speaker 1: important thing as a visionary is to understand that you
21:45
Speaker 1: must do the work, you must train get as much
21:48
Speaker 1: knowledge to sustain the dream killers, because what you carry
21:55
Speaker 1: maybe something original. You may be a prototype, and in
21:59
Speaker 1: most cases everyone's dream is unique to themselves, and we
22:03
Speaker 1: are all prototypes. We have something you need to offer,
22:07
Speaker 1: and in understanding that philosophy and that methodology, you will
22:10
Speaker 1: be less inclined to design yourself by what someone else
22:14
Speaker 1: does and begin to embrace the conversation that I'm a prototype.
22:19
Speaker 1: I gotta dance my dance because what I have to
22:21
Speaker 1: do hasn't been done the way I'm going to do
22:25
Speaker 1: it right right. You know that you know this. This
22:28
Speaker 1: is no time wherever, time limit here. But I want
22:31
Speaker 1: to ask you one more question. It's a couple of things.
22:33
Speaker 1: I wish I saw that I had sat a picture
22:35
Speaker 1: of you and you go with black old cowboy boots
22:37
Speaker 1: because I'm a Texas boy. So I fell in love
22:40
Speaker 1: when you went out and thought you had to help
22:41
Speaker 1: a pair of black cowboy boots and when you went
22:44
Speaker 1: for that audition and heavy d and did in How
22:47
Speaker 1: You Change and Walk Down Hip hop se There's a
22:49
Speaker 1: lot of things that I love about this book. And
22:52
Speaker 1: the thing I love about this book the most is
22:54
Speaker 1: that see, fear stops a lot of people. I always
22:57
Speaker 1: tell people they don't want to change jobs or they
22:59
Speaker 1: don't want to end relationships. You know, fear could have
23:02
Speaker 1: stopped you with Lady God God, they keeping nas to
23:04
Speaker 1: call you, got with Michael, Michael Jackson, you was working
23:07
Speaker 1: with Brandy. These are not these are not trivial names
23:11
Speaker 1: that are thrown around in the book. They're just examples
23:13
Speaker 1: to let you let people know that that you had
23:16
Speaker 1: to make decisions and you couldn't be afraid when you
23:19
Speaker 1: was making these decisions. And before I wrapped this interview,
23:22
Speaker 1: I like to if you can just explain to people, yes,
23:25
Speaker 1: you are afraid, your fear was in you, but faith
23:29
Speaker 1: got you through that. But talk about that whole process
23:33
Speaker 1: because a lot of people are stuck at jobs right
23:35
Speaker 1: now that you quit their relationships they could walk away
23:38
Speaker 1: from They're living in conditions that they can do better,
23:41
Speaker 1: like you said, but they refused to figure out a plan.
23:44
Speaker 1: This book is about a plan and they if they
23:47
Speaker 1: follow this plan. They have realized that this book might
23:50
Speaker 1: have a lot of famous names in it. Just remove
23:52
Speaker 1: the famous names and write their names, and the people
23:55
Speaker 1: that are blocking them are helping them there in this book.
23:59
Speaker 1: That's what I love this book, miss Gibson, and I
24:01
Speaker 1: want to thank you for writing it. But before I leave,
24:03
Speaker 1: if you can expound on overcoming fear when great opportunities
24:07
Speaker 1: are presenting themselves but you don't know the expectations of
24:10
Speaker 1: what could happen. You're so awesome. I really am grateful
24:15
Speaker 1: for you and your guidance and helping me express the
24:20
Speaker 1: power of this book. So thank you so much for
24:23
Speaker 1: dancing your dance, but most importantly for being your great self,
24:27
Speaker 1: because it is blowing you away how much you're helping
24:30
Speaker 1: people to understand the power of this book. So I'm
24:33
Speaker 1: so humbled by that. Thank you. I believe and I
24:38
Speaker 1: know that I wrote this book for the very reason
24:42
Speaker 1: that if I can speak to your dream, I can
24:44
Speaker 1: speak to your circumstance. So I know that fear did
24:48
Speaker 1: not live in me, it lived around me, but faith
24:52
Speaker 1: lived in me. Once you dare to dream. Then the
24:55
Speaker 1: possibilities of the beautiful power of that dream is about faith,
25:00
Speaker 1: and faith is in the dream. So very early I
25:04
Speaker 1: realized that faith was something that was around me, that
25:08
Speaker 1: was something that was being projected towards me, and that
25:14
Speaker 1: if I gave it life, if I said yes to it,
25:18
Speaker 1: then that would actually become something I had to then
25:22
Speaker 1: experience versus staying in my yes, which is an important
25:30
Speaker 1: step four. It's a hard step to work because you
25:35
Speaker 1: have to stay in something that you cannot see. You
25:39
Speaker 1: have to stay in something that is deeply rooted in
25:42
Speaker 1: the passion that you feel when you think about your dream,
25:48
Speaker 1: and in doing so, you choose your dream over the fear.
25:53
Speaker 1: And now you're saying to life, unfold according to God's plan, unfold,
26:02
Speaker 1: according to the plan of my dream, my purpose, and
26:05
Speaker 1: my destiny unfold, according to my dance, unfold according to
26:10
Speaker 1: who I am. And again you choose the dream over
26:18
Speaker 1: the fear. And suddenly what starts to rise in you
26:22
Speaker 1: is confirmation, and the faith gets you to the next step.
26:29
Speaker 1: Suddenly the phone rings, You pick up the phone, and
26:32
Speaker 1: it reflects you staying in your yes, and not the
26:36
Speaker 1: fear of losing, but the faith of winning. So it
26:41
Speaker 1: is about working the steps. It's not about expecting something
26:46
Speaker 1: to happen magically overnight. No, it's about understanding when you're
26:52
Speaker 1: facing it and you refuse to choose it, it's gonna come.
26:58
Speaker 1: And when when when I have to pay that bill
27:01
Speaker 1: and I didn't have a job and my grand was due,
27:03
Speaker 1: I was like, okay, God, where am I? When I
27:05
Speaker 1: was going to the foreign officer, she was like, you
27:07
Speaker 1: have to go home. I was in that bathroom on
27:09
Speaker 1: my knees, like, you gave me this dream. I'm gonna
27:12
Speaker 1: need you to help me understand what I'm gonna have
27:14
Speaker 1: to say when I go downstairs and they want me
27:16
Speaker 1: to produce this paper that I don't have. And as
27:20
Speaker 1: soon as I went downstairs go to test me on
27:26
Speaker 1: this book Pape, I got ther fook okause I was
27:34
Speaker 1: the very woman that he expected me to produce a
27:37
Speaker 1: paper that I did not have, a paper that would
27:40
Speaker 1: send me home. Got fired. Yes, yes, And they were like, look,
27:47
Speaker 1: miss Wanton is not here. I need you to go
27:49
Speaker 1: back to your class. And what did that do? It
27:53
Speaker 1: brought me time to do what I needed to do
27:56
Speaker 1: to stay in my dreams. So I talked about these
28:00
Speaker 1: situations to support another dreamer at that particular junction where
28:05
Speaker 1: they need evidence of the yes, evidence of someone staying
28:08
Speaker 1: in there. Yes. Not just the celebrating materialistically, being bold,
28:15
Speaker 1: being like braggadocious about what you have. This is not
28:19
Speaker 1: what this book is about. This is about the coming
28:22
Speaker 1: what you are. And at certain times I have to
28:25
Speaker 1: talk about what I don't have and what I didn't
28:27
Speaker 1: have so that you can understand the power of staying
28:31
Speaker 1: in your yes, the power of your dream. So I'm
28:34
Speaker 1: so grateful, but it is really important, especially now that
28:38
Speaker 1: I speak to fear being around you, not in you,
28:43
Speaker 1: so that you can understand how to stay in your yes,
28:46
Speaker 1: which completely produces the faith and the confidence and the
28:49
Speaker 1: perseverance you need to get to what you already are. Wow,
