- 1:59Speaker 1: that it h I share will Good morning everybody you
- 2:04Speaker 1: are listening to the voice, Come on dig me now
- 2:07Speaker 1: one and old is Steve Harvey got a radio show
- 2:13Speaker 1: particular me this morning. Steve Harvey got a radio show
- 2:17Speaker 1: feel with nothing but joy and hope about it too.
- 2:21Speaker 1: You know, it's a great thing to be able to
- 2:22Speaker 1: wake up in the morning with peace in your heart
- 2:25Speaker 1: and joy. Peace and joy is is immeasurable. It has
- 2:31Speaker 1: a value attached to it, and I have no idea
- 2:33Speaker 1: what it is. It's invaluable. It is worth so much
- 2:37Speaker 1: more than any amount of money you can make. Peace
- 2:40Speaker 1: and joy. Um. I have not always had that. I
- 2:47Speaker 1: have not always been a peaceful person or a person
- 2:52Speaker 1: who lived his life in a joy spirit. It took
- 2:56Speaker 1: an arrival at this moment. Some people arrive sooner than others.
- 3:01Speaker 1: I wish I had arrived at this point sooner, but
- 3:06Speaker 1: I think it was necessary for me to learn a
- 3:07Speaker 1: few things too. That's the amazing thing I've learned about
- 3:12Speaker 1: life is that instead of reflecting on your past incidences
- 3:19Speaker 1: and calling them failures, instead of focusing on the negative
- 3:23Speaker 1: and calling them bad times, I look at them now
- 3:28Speaker 1: as experiences. I had to have those experiences that were negative,
- 3:33Speaker 1: that were good, positive, wrong, even I had to have
- 3:38Speaker 1: all those experiences to become to shape who we are today.
- 3:46Speaker 1: We all have to have them. If you look back
- 3:49Speaker 1: at all the negative experiences you've had, all the things
- 3:53Speaker 1: that you called failures, all the businesses I started that
- 3:57Speaker 1: went under, all of the jobs I had that I
- 4:00Speaker 1: was fired from, all the shows that were canceled, all
- 4:04Speaker 1: of the times I thought I was gonna get something
- 4:07Speaker 1: happened in my way and turned out I didn't get
- 4:09Speaker 1: it at all. When you look at all of it,
- 4:12Speaker 1: all of it, hopefully along the way, what you have
- 4:16Speaker 1: done as a person is you've taken those negatives and
- 4:20Speaker 1: those failures and you've used them for what they actually are.
- 4:24Speaker 1: They are experiences, and they've now created in you an
- 4:28Speaker 1: experienced person, and you know that is worth something. That's
- 4:35Speaker 1: then it becomes a positive. But what too many people
- 4:40Speaker 1: do is they let the negative things that have happened
- 4:42Speaker 1: in their life. They allow the failures that have happened
- 4:45Speaker 1: in them lives never to manifest themselves as experiences. And
- 4:50Speaker 1: you sit up there and you dwell on it, and
- 4:52Speaker 1: you dwell on it until you have this woe is
- 4:55Speaker 1: me attitude. Stop looking at it like that, y'all. You
- 4:59Speaker 1: go through things in order to become the person that
- 5:03Speaker 1: you are today. I'll tell you who you sometimes have
- 5:06Speaker 1: to sit down and talk to. Sometimes you are to
- 5:08Speaker 1: sit down to an inmate that really gets it. An
- 5:11Speaker 1: inmate that says, man, I've actually heard inmates say it
- 5:15Speaker 1: to me and write to me, and they've said things like,
- 5:18Speaker 1: man coming to prison, save my life. Now, those of
- 5:22Speaker 1: you have never got how can he say a thing
- 5:24Speaker 1: like that? But some men, no, Man, I was so
- 5:27Speaker 1: far out there that if I had stayed out there,
- 5:30Speaker 1: I wouldn't even be here today. This actually allowed me
- 5:33Speaker 1: to stop and spend some time with myself and learn
- 5:36Speaker 1: some things about me. Now does that happen for everybody
- 5:39Speaker 1: like that now. But here's a person who was taking
- 5:42Speaker 1: an experience that could be considered a failure or a
- 5:45Speaker 1: negative and turning it into a positive and using it
- 5:48Speaker 1: to enrich their lives. You can do it no matter
- 5:51Speaker 1: what your set of circumstances is. I recommend to everybody
- 5:54Speaker 1: that you try changing your outlook in order to change
- 5:58Speaker 1: your outcome. Anything that happens to you that's negative or
- 6:02Speaker 1: you consider a failure their experiences. You've got to go
- 6:04Speaker 1: through these things in order to have the knowledge that
- 6:07Speaker 1: you have today. So I wish that I had come
- 6:10Speaker 1: to this arrival that I may now this place of
- 6:13Speaker 1: peace and joy. But then guess what, I would not
- 6:16Speaker 1: know what I know. I could not share some of
- 6:20Speaker 1: the things that I'm able to share if I had
- 6:22Speaker 1: not gone through some of them. And sometimes that's the
- 6:25Speaker 1: purpose of them, is to teach you a lesson because
- 6:27Speaker 1: you know, God has a plan for you, He really
- 6:30Speaker 1: really does, and eventually he can use you no matter
- 6:33Speaker 1: how old you are, and he can use you no
- 6:36Speaker 1: matter how young you are. If you just say, okay,
- 6:39Speaker 1: I'm ready to hear your plan. I've tried mine, Mine
- 6:42Speaker 1: ain't worked out. Mine was not a good plan. What's
- 6:45Speaker 1: your plan for me? God, what do you want me
- 6:48Speaker 1: to do? That's why I say every day Steve Harvey
- 6:51Speaker 1: got radio show, y'all, because Man, I ain't see it coming.
- 6:55Speaker 1: I didn't see that coming. I ain't see this book coming.
- 6:57Speaker 1: I ain't seen I ain't seen half of it. In May,
- 7:00Speaker 1: things that are happened to me, I didn't plan them.
- 7:03Speaker 1: I was sitting there, man, asking God for some direction.
- 7:07Speaker 1: And then I got smart enough to stay watchful, be
- 7:10Speaker 1: a hard worker. Now because faithful, our works is there
- 7:13Speaker 1: and it came. And I remind you of this. God
- 7:16Speaker 1: has given all of you a gift. Every last one
- 7:19Speaker 1: of you listening has a gift. God has never created
- 7:22Speaker 1: a soul that he did not provide a gift to.
- 7:25Speaker 1: God gives everyone a gift, and a gift is not
- 7:28Speaker 1: just singing, rapping entertainment. The richer gifts are much more
- 7:33Speaker 1: than that. Teachers are gifted people who really have the
- 7:37Speaker 1: gift of sharing information. That's a gift, you know, and
- 7:42Speaker 1: in that you can become great. You know a lot
- 7:48Speaker 1: of people people think that successful and greatness is the
- 7:51Speaker 1: same thing. Cornell West said it at my daughter's graduation.
- 7:55Speaker 1: He was a spokesperson. He said something so pointed. He said,
- 7:58Speaker 1: don't ever confuse success with greatness. The two have nothing
- 8:03Speaker 1: to do with each other. See, people determine success about
- 8:06Speaker 1: money and fame, and all is here but greatness. Greatness
- 8:10Speaker 1: ain't got nothing to do with your money. It ain't
- 8:12Speaker 1: got nothing to do with your fame. It's how you
- 8:14Speaker 1: conduct your life. It's how meaningful and significant you become
- 8:19Speaker 1: in your community, at your church, on your job, to
- 8:23Speaker 1: the club scout unit that you run, to the little
- 8:25Speaker 1: girls lives that you change, that that little center in
- 8:28Speaker 1: the hood. Who are you? Just one place of hope
- 8:31Speaker 1: to so many people and they come back. And I
- 8:34Speaker 1: used the example of Lou Danzler who passed away in
- 8:36Speaker 1: LA who had the Boys and Girls Challenges Club out
- 8:39Speaker 1: in La. And he wasn't a rich man at all,
- 8:42Speaker 1: and if you walk by him, you wouldn't even know
- 8:44Speaker 1: who he was. But if you look at all the
- 8:46Speaker 1: people who have gone on to become politicians, who have
- 8:50Speaker 1: gone on to become CEO's, who have gone on to
- 8:53Speaker 1: become athletes, that have passed through this man's small building
- 8:56Speaker 1: in the hood in La, he was great and all
- 9:01Speaker 1: of you have greatness in you at something. It's just
- 9:06Speaker 1: you got to submit yourself to God and say, Okay,
- 9:09Speaker 1: what was your planing for me? Certainly it wasn't to
- 9:11Speaker 1: become an inmate. Certainly, it wasn't to become a drug dealer.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Certainly it wasn't to become a womanizer. Certainly it wasn't
- 9:18Speaker 1: to become a stripper. Certainly God didn't create you for this.
- 9:23Speaker 1: He had a plan for you. He just waiting on
- 9:26Speaker 1: you to ask him what it is. And when you're
- 9:28Speaker 1: praying about it, that's when the change comes in your
- 9:31Speaker 1: life that you could open up yourself and submit yourself
- 9:34Speaker 1: and say, Hey, God, what is this for me? And
- 9:36Speaker 1: you ain't got to be perfect, because please know I ain't.
- 9:39Speaker 1: I ain't even close. But guess what what they got
- 9:42Speaker 1: to do? With you loving God and God loving you?
- 9:45Speaker 1: Trust me? Man? Prayer changes things. I said all the time.
- 9:48Speaker 1: But when you see people become successful or great, that
- 9:50Speaker 1: as somebody praying somewhere may not even be them. Maybe
- 9:53Speaker 1: it's their mama. You know, I think of Tiger Woods
- 9:56Speaker 1: and all the greatness he's accomplished. You know, they always
- 9:59Speaker 1: talk about it. It's farther than all this here. Somebody
- 10:02Speaker 1: somewhere praying for Tiger Woods. I got cash money riding
- 10:06Speaker 1: on that Tiger Woods. Mama is a praying woman or something.
- 10:09Speaker 1: My mother was. She prayed me into this place because
- 10:12Speaker 1: she should call me all the time, praying for your boy.
- 10:15Speaker 1: You know what, No, you know you can always come
- 10:17Speaker 1: here and get yourself some neat and your daddy has
- 10:20Speaker 1: said you can come in here. Always need a place
- 10:22Speaker 1: to sleep, you can come here. She was always praying
- 10:25Speaker 1: for me. And prayer changes things. It really does. Try
- 10:29Speaker 1: it today. It can change you. It has changed millions
- 10:33Speaker 1: of people. Open up yourself to the greatness that's in
- 10:36Speaker 1: you because God is giving you a gift. Now the
- 10:38Speaker 1: fact that you ain't using it. Who fought you think
- 10:41Speaker 1: that is? I'm just telling you you got one, and
- 10:44Speaker 1: if you start praying about it, it'll manifest itself and
- 10:48Speaker 1: you can become one or two things, successful or great
- 10:53Speaker 1: or both. You can make the decision. Today. You're listening,
- 11:02Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. But I have your
- 11:04Speaker 1: undivided attention. Please, as I do every day, I ask
- 11:07Speaker 1: for this because we need it. This is the Steve
- 11:10Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. It starts kind of like this every day,
- 11:14Speaker 1: but then sometimes I flip the script because I just
- 11:16Speaker 1: feel like him. This is the one format that offers
- 11:20Speaker 1: me the freedom where people can get more of an
- 11:23Speaker 1: insight of what Steve Harvey really thinks. This is not
- 11:26Speaker 1: family few, This is not a little big shot. This
- 11:29Speaker 1: is not the daytime talk show that has me in
- 11:32Speaker 1: a bubble. You get a closer view of how I
- 11:35Speaker 1: really am, Ladies and gentlemen, This here is me, surely Strawberry. Hey, realness, realness,
- 11:45Speaker 1: what's happening? One hundred's what's up? One hundred facts? Just
- 11:51Speaker 1: facts that Junior on vacation and Jay come in here
- 11:54Speaker 1: when he wants to Tom May, I'm in the building, baby,
- 11:58Speaker 1: right here, Let's get it. It's thirds yes sir, Yes,
- 12:03Speaker 1: all right, man, alright, alright, what do you do today?
- 12:08Speaker 1: Talking about the president? What don't he do? Bro? Hey, man,
- 12:13Speaker 1: let me tell you something. After the speech the other night,
- 12:17Speaker 1: the whole speech about unity, bipartisan, you know it's gonna
- 12:22Speaker 1: be so good, uh the world. Uh, you know, we
- 12:26Speaker 1: just want to reach across the house and do more.
- 12:29Speaker 1: We want to eradicate cancer from kids. We want both
- 12:33Speaker 1: parties to negotiate and everything. Next day, he called Adam's Shiff.
- 12:41Speaker 1: He called him a duel Yeah, yeah, yeah, yesterday he
- 12:45Speaker 1: called him a derogatory name. What did he call this man?
- 12:49Speaker 1: Let me see, I didn't see much much news today.
- 12:54Speaker 1: I wouldn't and I just walked past the TV and
- 12:56Speaker 1: then was President Trump calls Adams Shiff something. Need I
- 13:02Speaker 1: need an ft on that name? You dropping that him?
- 13:06Speaker 1: Make it stronger from me? You think the man's last
- 13:08Speaker 1: name is Adam. I'm just saying Steve missing that Adam
- 13:14Speaker 1: ship chef. Yeah, he thinks he's saying something else, he says,
- 13:19Speaker 1: he said, he's all, what do you say? Yes, I
- 13:23Speaker 1: didn't see that. I didn't see that. I saw the
- 13:27Speaker 1: highlights of the speech. They kept talking about that. Why
- 13:30Speaker 1: does he keep surprising y'all? I don't get Trump? Oh,
- 13:34Speaker 1: the president political? Um, he doesn't surprise me. No, no, no,
- 13:40Speaker 1: over him. Well, well, I'm gonna take that back. He
- 13:43Speaker 1: do surprise me sometimes, Well, he does surprise me. I
- 13:47Speaker 1: mean he is very surprising. You would not think what
- 13:52Speaker 1: he says actually is from the president's mouth, our president,
- 13:56Speaker 1: the president of his country's mouth. After the first sea
- 14:01Speaker 1: he consistent, No, but he keeps taking into another level.
- 14:05Speaker 1: You go, I mean time and timey can we're going.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Can you believe? He says that. Can you believe he
- 14:10Speaker 1: said that? You know, I mean, this is all I've
- 14:14Speaker 1: been surprised a few times by this dude. Okay, I
- 14:19Speaker 1: really did? I think? He called him a political Yeah?
- 14:23Speaker 1: All right, listen, coming up at thirty two. Yeah, coming
- 14:31Speaker 1: up at thirty two after the hour, guys, George Clinton
- 14:34Speaker 1: p funk. George Clinton is ready to say goodbye to
- 14:38Speaker 1: the road. We'll talk about it right after this some
- 14:41Speaker 1: some moments right after this you're listening to well Steve
- 14:47Speaker 1: your man. George Clinton says he's ready to say goodbye
- 14:51Speaker 1: to the road. Okay, He's almost seventy eight years old.
- 14:56Speaker 1: He's a legendary performer. Needless to say, he just announced
- 14:59Speaker 1: his final tour with Parliament Funkadelic DAB the One Nation
- 15:03Speaker 1: Under a Groove tour. I love it, he says. I
- 15:06Speaker 1: would love to keep on doing this, but I'll be
- 15:09Speaker 1: seventy eight in a few more months. That's what he
- 15:12Speaker 1: told Rolling Stone, a magazine. He said, even though I
- 15:15Speaker 1: feel like I'm just getting started, the reality is the
- 15:18Speaker 1: group needs to go ahead and keep it going. We've
- 15:21Speaker 1: got a new vibe in the band. And they've been
- 15:24Speaker 1: carrying it for the last three years. I've been up
- 15:26Speaker 1: there representing for the people, representing for people, but they've
- 15:29Speaker 1: actually been turning the place out. They've actually been turning
- 15:33Speaker 1: the place out. And we've been selling out for the
- 15:34Speaker 1: last five years every night. So Steve, I mean, I
- 15:40Speaker 1: know p Funk is one of your favorite groups of
- 15:42Speaker 1: all time. George Clinton made I know, I hear him.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Let's go boom boom. Well all right, boom boom boom.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Oh we're about to take off now, boom boom boom.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Here we go on the one too. Let's go make
- 16:07Speaker 1: my funk the p funk. I want to get funked up.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Make my funk the p funk. I want my funk.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Hunt cut, I want the bomb, I want the pe funk.
- 16:21Speaker 1: I want my funk. Step turn, Oh, make my funk
- 16:25Speaker 1: the p funk. Want my funk. He boom boom, Well
- 16:32Speaker 1: all right, what about the Atomic Dog though, Steve, you can't.
- 16:37Speaker 1: I'm just right. I know that you be not find
- 16:41Speaker 1: that right now in the middle of this bit, right now,
- 16:46Speaker 1: you can't play that man be not find that right
- 16:49Speaker 1: now and dropped the thing in hill And we don't
- 16:52Speaker 1: want to hear all that bar. You know it's coming
- 16:59Speaker 1: too early. You tell me you were a diaper to
- 17:07Speaker 1: the concert. I'm done here. Oh we're not gonna play
- 17:15Speaker 1: all that with this flash. We got to drop this flash,
- 17:21Speaker 1: like please please for the cappa. He doesn't agree with that. Yes, boy,
- 17:31Speaker 1: let me tell you. Boy, I'm sophomore year. I got
- 17:34Speaker 1: my cane. I'm trying to get to the floor. You
- 17:37Speaker 1: don't understand. We're going around the room. Yes, just don't
- 17:41Speaker 1: drop your cane. Just don't drop it. Don't drop it.
- 17:46Speaker 1: You what seed you're mumbling? They don't know. I don't say.
- 17:51Speaker 1: They don't mention. They don't have to mention. The cappa
- 18:00Speaker 1: can hear you? Why you? But they've adopted that song.
- 18:07Speaker 1: Well about now, sir, they probably have a young guys
- 18:09Speaker 1: probably have a different thing. So but in my era,
- 18:12Speaker 1: this was the song. There is no other song for
- 18:15Speaker 1: the cues. Okay to this day, well, they haven't made
- 18:20Speaker 1: another dog. So they make another dog. Ain't no more
- 18:25Speaker 1: that will forever go down. And they wrote it for
- 18:31Speaker 1: me about the dog, famous dog, a rhythmic dog, atomic dog.
- 18:39Speaker 1: I didn't even know that was for me. And then
- 18:41Speaker 1: I messed around, Oh this is a story about a dog,
- 18:48Speaker 1: famous dog, rhythmic dog, atomic dog. Why must I feel
- 18:56Speaker 1: like that? Why must I chase the cat? Nothing but
- 19:01Speaker 1: the dog? George Clinton, he is a legend, obviously seventy
- 19:06Speaker 1: eight years old. And so for the younger generation that's listening,
- 19:11Speaker 1: how can you break it down as to the type
- 19:15Speaker 1: of music, the funk and what he bought to the
- 19:18Speaker 1: stage in the concert experience. I've never been to a concert.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Oh I have? Have I have? Oh? Yes, you leave
- 19:28Speaker 1: out of the exhausted to me? Really, dog, you ain't
- 19:32Speaker 1: seen Mothership old. I never saw the Mothership. I saw
- 19:40Speaker 1: you know, I saw the album covers. I never went
- 19:43Speaker 1: to a concert. Wow. Man. First of all, I'm looking
- 19:47Speaker 1: at you a little differently. First of all, George made
- 19:53Speaker 1: famous the instrument called moog Prodigy, the move prodigy. It
- 20:01Speaker 1: looked like a guitar, but it was a keyboard. But
- 20:04Speaker 1: he set it down and he could. He had it
- 20:07Speaker 1: had a bind wheel on it. He made it famous
- 20:10Speaker 1: in a lot of his songs, Awkward Buggie. He dismoved
- 20:16Speaker 1: prodigy with different sounds. They created a funk sound. They
- 20:20Speaker 1: were the creators of funk. Now, other groups had various forms,
- 20:28Speaker 1: but the richest, most soulful form of funk ever created
- 20:33Speaker 1: in music came from George Clinton Parliament Funkadelic. It was
- 20:42Speaker 1: almost rock and roll to funk, but they took all
- 20:45Speaker 1: the rock and roll and turned it into rock and
- 20:48Speaker 1: soul funk. And it was ugly man like that, and
- 20:54Speaker 1: they had boys playing with them. That was that was
- 20:57Speaker 1: dog On, Nasty Macio, Damn Bussi College. They had people
- 21:04Speaker 1: back that man could play instruments and Parliament Funkadelic man
- 21:10Speaker 1: created a funk in the seventies that was never been matched.
- 21:15Speaker 1: And you can't know what they were until you saw
- 21:18Speaker 1: a lot, but if you listen to the albums, it
- 21:21Speaker 1: was all over there. It was such a new contorted
- 21:25Speaker 1: sense of funk. Lord Jesus, Yeah, that's my favorite. So
- 21:32Speaker 1: that's my favorite favorite from them all right. Coming up
- 21:35Speaker 1: next it is the Man Who's Never Seen Parliament Funkadelic
- 21:39Speaker 1: Live Loser. Yeah. This Little Boy even named a break
- 21:45Speaker 1: after after one of their songs, Aqua Puggy Run That
- 21:48Speaker 1: breakback coming up with the Nephew right after this Can't
- 21:52Speaker 1: Believe You Never you're listening coming up at the top
- 21:59Speaker 1: of the album, We're in Entertainment News we're gonna tell
- 22:01Speaker 1: you about motown sixty and the oscars are still hostless.
- 22:07Speaker 1: All right, nephew, what you got for us with your prank? Sir?
- 22:11Speaker 1: Brother needs some help with this child support? Yeah, see
- 22:15Speaker 1: what I'm saying. No, No, I don't. Brother needs some
- 22:18Speaker 1: help with this child support. I can't ask you were
- 22:22Speaker 1: talking to a single parent for a long time. I
- 22:25Speaker 1: do not understand you have help. You've had to ask
- 22:31Speaker 1: me to help, Henker, listen, brother needs some help with

- 32:11Speaker 1: in the history of Yes, Motown twenty five was greater
- 32:14Speaker 1: than any Grammys we've ever seen. Michael Jackson and the
- 32:17Speaker 1: Jackson's performance was the Grimms. The greatest. Two greatest Grammy
- 32:20Speaker 1: performances I've ever seen Michael Jackson at the Grammys. I
- 32:25Speaker 1: think it was the Grammys one year he did a
- 32:27Speaker 1: smooth Criminal. His sister Janet stood up and was just
- 32:30Speaker 1: crying it. And then when Michael Jackson did Man in
- 32:34Speaker 1: the Mirror with the choir behind him at the Grammys.
- 32:38Speaker 1: The next greatest Grammy performance I ever saw Kendrick Lamar. Oh,
- 32:47Speaker 1: Kendrick Lamar's performance at the Grammys the other year was
- 32:52Speaker 1: one after Michael Jackson. I've never seen nothing greater than that.

- 33:30Speaker 1: you don't have to like me. You really don't respect.
- 33:34Speaker 1: But you do have to respect me though, and you
- 33:37Speaker 1: should respect me. And because I respect everybody's body of work,
- 33:42Speaker 1: I respect everybody's existence in this world. I respect you.
- 33:46Speaker 1: You may not be my dude. You know, we ain't
- 33:48Speaker 1: hanging a nothing like that, but there's a lot of
- 33:50Speaker 1: people I don't hang with that I respect. Well, let
- 33:54Speaker 1: me say this though, All y'all that's calling him uncle,
- 33:57Speaker 1: I'm gonna let that slide. Okay, I'm gonna let that slap.
- 34:01Speaker 1: But y'all do have your own damn uncle's and y'all family,
- 34:05Speaker 1: y'all do. Why y'all ain't holida at them? I'm just saying,
- 34:09Speaker 1: get your own uncle man? Wait said though? Did you
- 34:15Speaker 1: not say otis Williams and temptations? Uh? Anybody coming? All right, listen,
- 34:28Speaker 1: we gotta go to miss Anne Steve. Let's go, ladies
- 34:31Speaker 1: and gentlemen, miss Anne Tripp. Watch everybody. Good morning, everybody.
- 34:36Speaker 1: This is a trip, and I've got the news. President
- 34:39Speaker 1: Trump says that Isis has lost nearly all of its territory,
- 34:42Speaker 1: all of its territory that they once controlled. It should
- 34:45Speaker 1: be formally announced sometime probably next week, that we will
- 34:50Speaker 1: have one hundred percent of the caliphate, But I want
- 34:53Speaker 1: to wait for the official word. I don't want to
- 34:55Speaker 1: say it too early. But of course he just did.
- 34:57Speaker 1: The President's pulling US troops out of Syria. You know that, however,
- 35:00Speaker 1: Secretary of State Mike Pompeo says Isis remains a menace,
- 35:04Speaker 1: so that the others in other states, other countries need
- 35:07Speaker 1: to try to step in and try to stabilize that region.
- 35:09Speaker 1: Defense Secretary gemmattas she may remember, quit over the pullout
- 35:12Speaker 1: decision because he reportedly thought the move was a two premature.
- 35:16Speaker 1: Virginia's governor, or, the lieutenant governor, and its attorney general,
- 35:19Speaker 1: all Democrats, all facing allegations of misconduct right now. The
- 35:22Speaker 1: controversy began with revelations of a racist picture on the
- 35:26Speaker 1: page of the governor's medical school yearbook. There were calls
- 35:28Speaker 1: for him to step down. He hasn't done it so far,
- 35:30Speaker 1: and those calls, by the way, came from those in
- 35:32Speaker 1: his own party. Then the lieutenant governor, who would have
- 35:34Speaker 1: been next, who would succeed him, and who is black,
- 35:37Speaker 1: was accused of sexually assaulting a woman now several years ago.
- 35:40Speaker 1: And now the attorney general, who would have been third
- 35:42Speaker 1: in line, also a Democrat, admitting that he once wore
- 35:45Speaker 1: black face to a Halloween party back in the day. Now,
- 35:47Speaker 1: the woman accusing the Lieutenant Governor just In Fairfax is
- 35:51Speaker 1: a professor of politics in California. Name is Vanessa Tyson.
- 35:54Speaker 1: Was saying her name because she's come out with her
- 35:56Speaker 1: own name. She's saying her name. She says Fairfax assault
- 36:00Speaker 1: her in two thousand and four when they were both
- 36:01Speaker 1: attending a Democratic National convention. Miss Tyson says consensual kissing
- 36:06Speaker 1: ended in a forcible sex act. Lieutenant Governor Fairfax put
- 36:10Speaker 1: his own statementality calls Tyson's allegations surprising and hurtful, but
- 36:14Speaker 1: adds that it is nevertheless important to quote listen to
- 36:17Speaker 1: women when they come forward with allegations of sexual assault
- 36:20Speaker 1: or harassment. Both sides of laid up there. And meanwhile,
- 36:23Speaker 1: Alabama's Attorney general get this refusing to prosecute the white
- 36:27Speaker 1: cop who shot and killed the young black man who
- 36:29Speaker 1: was legally armed and trying to stop a crime, an
- 36:33Speaker 1: army veteran who the white officer just assumed was a suspect,
- 36:37Speaker 1: and a shooting in a Birmingham shopping mall. The Prosecutor's
- 36:40Speaker 1: office found that the police officer was reacting to a
- 36:42Speaker 1: perceived threat. He says, the victim, Emantic Bradford Junior, was
- 36:46Speaker 1: working security at the mall. He chased two shooters down,
- 36:50Speaker 1: had one of them on the ground. He had a
- 36:52Speaker 1: licensed gun he was holding for the police. Witness to say,
- 36:54Speaker 1: the local cop comes and shoots Bradford without asking him
- 36:57Speaker 1: to put his gun down or anything. Attorney Benjamin says,
- 37:00Speaker 1: Humantic braf was only crime was being black. Actor Liam
- 37:05Speaker 1: Neeson's latest flick of Pursuit comes out today, but the
- 37:07Speaker 1: schedule starts Studied Red Carpet for its opening has been
- 37:09Speaker 1: canceled because his recent statements. Today is National Lane ductor
- 37:14Speaker 1: it is now back to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 37:18Speaker 1: You're listening to Steve Harvey Mourning Show. Does Virginia have
- 37:22Speaker 1: any high ranking officials who deserve to be in office?
- 37:25Speaker 1: State attorney State Attorney General Mike Harring has admitted that
- 37:30Speaker 1: he too once wore black face? What the word? State
- 37:35Speaker 1: Attorney General Mark Harring. He's admitted that he too once
- 37:39Speaker 1: wore black face. The damn city who was setting on
- 37:44Speaker 1: his shoe polish though, that's what I mean? Who is
- 37:47Speaker 1: setting only they gonna mess where I had to close
- 37:50Speaker 1: Virginia Legislate. But nobody up there, sde What did the
- 37:55Speaker 1: governor say about that shoe polished? Though? One more time?
- 37:59Speaker 1: You know when I did, Michael Jackson, I want to
- 38:01Speaker 1: put a little bit under each eye, because everybody knows
- 38:05Speaker 1: how hard it is get black shoe polish off your faith.
- 38:10Speaker 1: Everybody doesn't know. I'm sorry, I've never had no at all.
- 38:15Speaker 1: I've found hell getting it off my finger tips right
- 38:18Speaker 1: after polishing my shoes where it belongs. All right, listen,
- 38:22Speaker 1: let's get back to the State Attorney General of Virginia,
- 38:25Speaker 1: Mark Herring. He's admitted that he too has worn black face.
- 38:30Speaker 1: He says that he wore an afro wig and makeup
- 38:32Speaker 1: as part of a costume as a rapper at a
- 38:36Speaker 1: party at the University of Virginia back in nineteen eighty.
- 38:40Speaker 1: Most recently, he probably said, well, they're gonna find out anyway,
- 38:44Speaker 1: so they digging up pictures. But let me go on,
- 38:46Speaker 1: come on, and I'm so sorry. Most recently, of course,
- 38:51Speaker 1: we just talked about Governor Ralph Nordom. He came under
- 38:55Speaker 1: fire with his page in a medical school yearbook surface
- 38:57Speaker 1: showing someone in black face and another person wearing a
- 39:01Speaker 1: KKK hood and robe, and then Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax
- 39:06Speaker 1: has been hit with a sexual assault allegation, though he
- 39:09Speaker 1: denies that was that in black face. I mean, come on,
- 39:13Speaker 1: it's ridiculous. Well he's black. Yes, it was in school,
- 39:19Speaker 1: in school. If you're a theater, amazing, you gotta take
- 39:22Speaker 1: senor mean, you gotta take costume, you gotta take makeup.
- 39:25Speaker 1: They got makeup, all right, that's that matches our tones. Yes,
- 39:30Speaker 1: I ain't never seen nobody with no damn shoe polish.
- 39:33Speaker 1: That's that's the trip part. Yeah, the black face is
- 39:40Speaker 1: to put the extra spin on it. And what some
- 39:43Speaker 1: people don't understand is black face. That's what white people
- 39:47Speaker 1: did to mock us in theater because they didn't want
- 39:50Speaker 1: no blacks in the theater. So the act of black
- 39:53Speaker 1: they put extra big lips on it, real black mak
- 39:56Speaker 1: When we come back, just let me tell you something
- 39:58Speaker 1: real quick about the Apollo Theater, all right, and coming
- 40:01Speaker 1: up at thirty four after the hour, we're also going
- 40:03Speaker 1: to tell you about this brand new theory that the
- 40:05Speaker 1: godfather of soul, James Brown, was murdered. That's coming up
- 40:09Speaker 1: right after this you're listening to. We're gonna get into
- 40:14Speaker 1: the James Brown story in just a moment. I know
- 40:17Speaker 1: you guys are waiting for that, But Steve, you wanted
- 40:19Speaker 1: to finish the thought you had earlier. You know what, See,
- 40:22Speaker 1: the black face was so it's so so insulting to
- 40:25Speaker 1: African Americans because it was used to mock us back
- 40:29Speaker 1: in the day. Not only did that was such a
- 40:32Speaker 1: hatred for black people you're seeing it today even and
- 40:35Speaker 1: when you bring it up, you bring that period up,
- 40:38Speaker 1: but it was also kept us out of theater because
- 40:42Speaker 1: we weren't allowed to be in theater. So when when
- 40:44Speaker 1: they wanted to show a black they always put them
- 40:47Speaker 1: up in a demeaning way by putting black shoe polish
- 40:50Speaker 1: on their face, big pink lips, and the black faced
- 40:53Speaker 1: person was always this bumbling, slow, simple minded person, was
- 41:00Speaker 1: their perception of black people at that time. Quick story,
- 41:05Speaker 1: Polo Theater. The reason you have the stump in the
- 41:09Speaker 1: Apollo Theater is because one twenty fifth Street was widened
- 41:17Speaker 1: now and they had to chop down the Tree of Hope.
- 41:20Speaker 1: The Tree of Hope stood on one hundred and twenty
- 41:22Speaker 1: fifth Street, where all entertainers stood, tappers, hoofers, singers, dancers,
- 41:29Speaker 1: and all Broadway hopefuls stood there. And they stood up
- 41:33Speaker 1: under the tree of Hope because every day on Broadway
- 41:36Speaker 1: when a white performer, when a white performers came ill
- 41:41Speaker 1: or twisted ankle or something, the producers of the show
- 41:44Speaker 1: drove up to Harlem and picked from the tree of hope.
- 41:49Speaker 1: All the actors and actresses and singers and dancers and
- 41:52Speaker 1: hoofers and tappers stood under the tree, and they called
- 41:55Speaker 1: it the Tree of Hope because they hoped they got
- 41:57Speaker 1: picked where they could pick blacks, because they knew black
- 42:01Speaker 1: people could come and learn these steps and all these
- 42:04Speaker 1: dance moves in a matter of thirty forty minutes because
- 42:08Speaker 1: to black people, what they were doing down there in
- 42:09Speaker 1: Broadway wasn't a boy nothing. So they could get these
- 42:12Speaker 1: blacks to come down here, and they put all the
- 42:15Speaker 1: blacks in white face, because blacks weren't allowed to perform
- 42:20Speaker 1: on Broadway. So now they took the black person and
- 42:24Speaker 1: made them white. So then when you take a white
- 42:28Speaker 1: person and make them over the top shoe polish black,
- 42:32Speaker 1: when you degraded us and kept us from opportunity and
- 42:36Speaker 1: marked us as being slow and marked us as being
- 42:39Speaker 1: simple minded and incapable of full thoughts. That's what black
- 42:44Speaker 1: face do to black people. And from the follow you
- 42:49Speaker 1: when you knew we were the gift it was, and
- 42:52Speaker 1: you picked us up from the tree or hope, and
- 42:54Speaker 1: you took us down the Broadway because we could learn
- 42:56Speaker 1: your little Shirley Temple steps. Oh so quick, Look dance
- 43:00Speaker 1: moves y'all been working on all month. We could knock
- 43:03Speaker 1: them down in fifteen twenty minutes. You put white makeup
- 43:06Speaker 1: on all these black skinned people so you wouldn't even
- 43:09Speaker 1: so no one would know they was black. But you
- 43:12Speaker 1: needed them. And so when they cut the tree down,
- 43:15Speaker 1: the performance said, no, this tree is our hope. It's
- 43:19Speaker 1: got to go to the showtime with the Apollo. And
- 43:21Speaker 1: that's why it sits on that stage. And that's when
- 43:24Speaker 1: you bring your ass around that corner. You better rubbed
- 43:26Speaker 1: that long. I'm on, come on, that's the tree. You're welcome.
- 43:31Speaker 1: That is a Black history moment, Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 43:36Speaker 1: I've been a hallom man. I learned from these people.
- 43:38Speaker 1: Ha hallam made me. I'm Cleveland made, I'm watch West
- 43:45Speaker 1: Virginia produced, but I'm made in Cleveland, but Hallom made
- 43:51Speaker 1: me the entertainer I am today. That's why I can
- 43:53Speaker 1: host any show. You know why, because I hold showtime
- 43:56Speaker 1: to Apolo. If you want to figure out if you're
- 43:58Speaker 1: good at something, take your drawls, put them on and
- 44:02Speaker 1: go up to the Apolo Theater. Take your drawls, put
- 44:06Speaker 1: them on and go up to the Apolo Theater. You
- 44:09Speaker 1: finn't find out how good you are. Right. Bruno Mars
- 44:12Speaker 1: did his special from the Apollo Theater because his father
- 44:16Speaker 1: told him, you thank you all that boy, until you
- 44:19Speaker 1: go to the Apollo Theater. Wow. Bruno daddy told him that.
- 44:24Speaker 1: That's why Bruno Mars one of the greatest bands today.
- 44:27Speaker 1: He went to the Apolo Theater. Did it is special?
- 44:30Speaker 1: That's because he had he had to prove it. Yeah,
- 44:32Speaker 1: that's what they say. Michael Jackson used to hide in
- 44:35Speaker 1: the stairwells and stuff and watch James Brown, j Wilson
- 44:39Speaker 1: and all the great. Yeah. If you ain't been at
- 44:43Speaker 1: the Apollo, man, whatever, I've been in the Aparty. I
- 44:46Speaker 1: did my six minutes up there. Do you remember this
- 44:48Speaker 1: hum when you told me, when you told me, what's
- 44:51Speaker 1: your best joke? I said, Yeah, I'm gonna kill him
- 44:53Speaker 1: winning at the end. Now you're gonna do that first? No, first,
- 44:57Speaker 1: it might not be the win. Hey. Wait, coming up,
- 45:02Speaker 1: it's the nephew with the frank phone call for today.
- 45:04Speaker 1: Right after this you're listening to show coming up at

- 50:16Speaker 1: to do is give me some time. Let me go
- 50:18Speaker 1: by this guy's house where he lives and see if

- 54:31Speaker 1: Dear Stephen Shirley, I am in a desperate need of advice.
- 54:36Speaker 1: I was engaged here for you. I was engaged to
- 54:39Speaker 1: be married, but my fiance and I recently split up
- 54:42Speaker 1: after my ex wife caused a whole lot of problems
- 54:46Speaker 1: in our relationship. When my ex heard I was engaged,
- 54:53Speaker 1: she called me. I told her that I was extremely
- 54:57Speaker 1: happy and excited to get remarried. My said that she
- 55:00Speaker 1: was happy for me and wished me met wished me well,
- 55:03Speaker 1: which was a big lie. Oh, this ain't about me.
- 55:07Speaker 1: Feet never said nothing. A few days after we talked, well,
- 55:13Speaker 1: listen and listen. Keep listening, keep listening. No, this is
- 55:16Speaker 1: not me. Okay, cool head, keep listening. I'm trying to ignorant, right,
- 55:22Speaker 1: said she was happy for me and wished me well. Well.
- 55:25Speaker 1: It was a big he said, it was a big lie.
- 55:27Speaker 1: A few days after we talked, this this must be
- 55:31Speaker 1: will Smith go ahead, because they had that great relationship,
- 55:36Speaker 1: all the people sitting together talking and stuff. All right,
- 55:42Speaker 1: here we go. A few days after we talked, my
- 55:44Speaker 1: ex created a new Facebook page named it the Thompsons
- 55:49Speaker 1: and posted a bunch of old pictures from our wedding
- 55:52Speaker 1: and family vacations. My fiance's mother saw the Facebook page
- 55:57Speaker 1: and showed it to my fiance, and that's when everything
- 56:01Speaker 1: hit the fan. I told my fiance that, yes, I
- 56:04Speaker 1: talked to my ex because she called me. I didn't
- 56:07Speaker 1: call her. I told my fiance that I had no
- 56:10Speaker 1: idea that the Facebook page existed because I don't deal
- 56:15Speaker 1: with my ex wife at all. My fiance didn't believe me,
- 56:20Speaker 1: so she called my ex, and my ex gave her
- 56:22Speaker 1: an earful of lies. She told my fiance that I
- 56:26Speaker 1: still try to see her and that we are still
- 56:28Speaker 1: in love with each other and talk often. Of course,
- 56:31Speaker 1: my fiance was all confused and didn't know who to believe,
- 56:35Speaker 1: so she called off the wedding and we broke up.
- 56:38Speaker 1: My X found out about her breakup and claimed she
- 56:40Speaker 1: felt awful about it, so she sent my fiance an
- 56:43Speaker 1: email admitting that she lied about everything and she was
- 56:47Speaker 1: sorry that she interfered. My fiance still doesn't want to
- 56:51Speaker 1: marry me and we barely talk at all now. Even
- 56:54Speaker 1: though my ex admitted she was lying, I'm still suffering
- 56:57Speaker 1: from what she did. Can you please for some advice
- 57:00Speaker 1: on how I can get my lady back. I cannot
- 57:04Speaker 1: stand my ex wife for this, but I'm going to
- 57:06Speaker 1: let God deal with her. I just want my fiance back.
- 57:09Speaker 1: Please help. Yeah, yeah, this is this is this is funky,
- 57:15Speaker 1: funky funky right here. I don't I don't like your
- 57:19Speaker 1: ex wife. I'm just gonna put that out there. Don't
- 57:21Speaker 1: like her at all. She's a stuff starter. She's a
- 57:23Speaker 1: very negative person. She doesn't care who she hurts. Yeah,
- 57:28Speaker 1: you know what, I mean, she doesn't care how many
- 57:32Speaker 1: lives she destroys, how many lives she tells, she doesn't care,
- 57:36Speaker 1: she's cage, she's tricky, all of that. It's just so
- 57:40Speaker 1: wrong on so many levels what she did. And you're right,
- 57:43Speaker 1: you're right. I'm gonna go with you when you say
- 57:45Speaker 1: you're gonna let God deal with her, because it's not.
- 57:48Speaker 1: It's it's not really about her. It's not really about her.
- 57:56Speaker 1: It's just never about It's not about your ex. This
- 57:58Speaker 1: is about your most recent X, your X fiance, because
- 58:03Speaker 1: there was a problem in your relationship. There had to
- 58:07Speaker 1: be some kind of problem on her part that you
- 58:09Speaker 1: didn't know about in your relationship, a trust issue. How
- 58:14Speaker 1: can she let this X just come out of nowhere?
- 58:17Speaker 1: Do all this stuff make her doubt you? Okay, and
- 58:23Speaker 1: do all these things and believe this woman over you
- 58:26Speaker 1: and you guys are making wedding plans here. Okay. Yeah,
- 58:31Speaker 1: she can be confused, but to just throw it all
- 58:34Speaker 1: away over what she said, especially the woman gave her
- 58:37Speaker 1: an email and said she was lying, but she doesn't
- 58:40Speaker 1: know what to believe. I don't know if you're gonna
- 58:42Speaker 1: ever get this woman back. I really don't, because the
- 58:45Speaker 1: trust is broken on her part. She doesn't trust you
- 58:48Speaker 1: because your x X did so much damage, and you know,
- 58:54Speaker 1: I mean, I'm sure you've done everything a man could
- 58:56Speaker 1: do to prove to her that this is not true.
- 58:58Speaker 1: You told her you didn't talk to her, call her,
- 59:00Speaker 1: You told her that you told her the ex called you.
- 59:03Speaker 1: You told her all that she wasn't buying any of it.
- 59:06Speaker 1: I guess there was too much evidence that she saw
- 59:09Speaker 1: with the Facebook page and the pictures and all of that.
- 59:13Speaker 1: The problem I think is with your most recent ex
- 59:15Speaker 1: fiance excuse me, and not trusting you, and not knowing
- 59:21Speaker 1: what to believe, and not wanting to go further in
- 59:24Speaker 1: this relationship. Steve Shelly, I agree with you one. I
- 59:29Speaker 1: think you've hit it spot on. Yeah, he in trouble
- 59:32Speaker 1: could yeah, yes, Yeah, he washed up. He he on
- 59:35Speaker 1: the banks. He a fish that they got washed up
- 59:38Speaker 1: on shore and it's low tig. He just he needed
- 59:43Speaker 1: water back in desperately because he died. Yeah, he loved
- 59:46Speaker 1: this girl. Shelly is really spot on. This is the
- 59:51Speaker 1: straw that broke the camel's back. You all have had
- 59:55Speaker 1: trust issues before. This was the one thing she couldn't
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: tape what your ex did was devastating because your ex
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: formed a Facebook page called the Thompsons. Here's your problem.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: The girl mama found out about it. The girl mama
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: found out all people on Facebook. She would have done
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: it on vine is the gram stamp chat never would
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: have come to life. But you put it on Facebook.
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: That's where old asked people ask. So her mama found it.
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: This is the basis of all your troubles because her
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: mama didn't just show it to you. Her mama has
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: showed it to everybody, and it caused you so much
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: embarrassment and humiliation. Caused your ex that she can't face
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: the crowd. So now your question is what do I
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: do when we come back? I got it for you.
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: But yeah, the words of Marvin Gaye's song to his
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: ex wife Janet, you were my wife, my flower, my hopes,
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: my dreams, And for you to understand what this means,
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: I shall explain. I will stood all your jealousies, yes,
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: and your two but I forget it all once in
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: bed with you. But oh do Holly Hocky, we end
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: the life alright, Marvin here, okay, all right, Steve sings
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: us out of this uh this letter right here, We'll
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: be back with his second response at twenty three after
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: the hours, subject my ex ran off my fiance. We'll
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: be right back right after this. You're listening, all right, Steve.
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: Please let's recap today's Strawberry letter and get to your response.
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: Subject my ex wife ran my fiance off. This dude's
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: ex wife, he found out that he was engaged, called
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: him and told me that she was happy and excited
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: for me. And my ex said that she was happy
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: for me and wished me well, he said, which was
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: a big life. A few days later, we talked my ex.
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: A few days after we talked, his ex wife created
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: a brand new Facebook page and called it to Thompson's
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: and posted a bunch of old picts that they win
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: and family vacation. Then this dude's fiances mama saw the
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: Facebook page, showed it to my fiance. His damn mama.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: See her damn mama in it. This is why you
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: can't get your girl back, man, because she under the scrutiny.
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: Her mama. Look at this on Facebook, Sister Claire, re
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: see this arline hasn't seen it. I can't go know
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: where everybody has seen this? Here this man and asking
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: you like that, and now your friends and found out
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: about it because you took it to your friends, and
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: your friends have been commenting on it. Girl, this is
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: new so now and then you, I don't know why
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: you told her that child talked. I talked to my
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: ex because she caught when everything hit the fan. I
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: told my fiance that, yes, I talked to my ex
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: because she called me. I didn't call her. I told
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: my fiance I had no idea that the Facebook page
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: existed because I don't deal with my ex at all.
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: Your fiance didn't believe you, man, so she called my axe.
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: She called your ex, and your ex gave her an
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: ear full of lies. Oh man, see hit this? Why
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: you dog that? Man? Hell hath no fury like a
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: woman scorn? Now? I thought, hell hath no fury like
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: a woman scoring? I really thought for years until it
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: surely told me last year that that's not a script.
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: And then I wanted to have a meeting with all
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: the theologians and all of them to see if we
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: could get it put in. I put nothing. I just
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: think it's something ought to be in there. Why that
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: ain't there there? And so they told me I couldn't
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: do that, so I got off of that. So you're
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: so she told your ex wife said that y'all still
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: in love, that you try to see her, see his
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: a key, still try to see her. If the girl
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: had something on you seeing her, she wouldn't have said
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: you still try to see her. She just said, I
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: got texas, I got pictures because you gotta text, somebody
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: gotta picture. You gotta have phone wreckers. They don't have
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: that on your dog. She lied and said, I still
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: try to see her, and then we're still in love
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: with each other and we talk often where the phone records.
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: Of course, my fiance was all confused and didn't know
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: who to please, so she called off the wed and
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: we broke up. She broke up because of that phone
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: call and her damn mama, wait what her damn mama,
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: mama man man a man now you over there, trying
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: to explain that she's standing behind her daughter with her
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: own folk, with her lips perched. Of course, my fiance,
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: my ex, found out about our break up and claimed
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: she felt awful about it, so she sent my fiance
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: an email admitting that she lied about everything and she
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: was sorry that she interfered my fiance still don't want
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: to marry me and we barely talk it on. See,
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: that's crazy, man. Even though my ex admitted she was lying,
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: I'm still suffering from what she did. Can you please
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: offer some advice I get my lady back. I cannot
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: stand my ex wife for this, but I'm going to
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: let God deal with her. I just want my fiance back.
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: All right, dall, here you go. First of all, I
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: want you to take this notion to her. If she
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: said try to see her, what's prevented her from seeing her?
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: If she say, y'all still in love with each other,
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: your ex would see you, but she didn't. Also, man,
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: phone records exist. Pull up your phone records, man, and
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: show you ain't had no conversations with this woman an
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: extensive so excuse me. See you're saying he needs proof
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: to show if he has a physical evidence. Okay, we're
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: trying to get your girl back. She gonna love the
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: fact that you worked as hard to research. See a
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: thirty second phone call. You can't arrange nothing in thirty seconds.
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: That's hey, what you're doing? Hey, Look, I ain't got time.
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: I want to talk to you. Click See a lot
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: of times call you play it off, you understand. So
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: you gotta get your phone records and then where the
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: text messages. And you can't arrange nothing no more on
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: the LOWLO without texting. You can't do it, though, So
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: get your get your records and get to texting. Now,
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: once you do that, you gotta present your case. Hey man,
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: you gotta you got, you gotta get on your stomach.
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: Even though you didn't do nothing wrong. You want your
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: girl back. Now here's what young dudes don't like to do.
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: I don't know how old you are, but you got
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: some kind of sense because you said, I'm gonna let
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: God deal with that. So you got some kind of sense.
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: You gotta get to your girl, and you gotta refresh
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: her memory. You gotta Michael Jackson. Huh. You gotta remember
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: the time we fell in love, Remember the time when
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: we first met him. You got to get to Michael Jackson.
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: This girl which to remember on the phone and the beach,
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: you and me? What about? What about that tongue you
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: got to get down? Boy? Well, I'm just gonna throw
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: a little something minute, okay, what provided she hasn't moved
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: on already? Oh no, hey men, do it. You said
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: that earlier. No, on another Strawberry Letter somewhere else. No fiance,
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: she did not check. Okay, not yet plug. Plus women
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: get hurt like that, they'd be a little bit. I've
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: heard you, guys say the best way to get over
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: someone is to get under someone else. I've heard that
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: on this show. You don't repeat what we say. You
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: don't do that from the guys. We're repeating, I do
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: as I say, not as I do. Well, he's coming evidence,
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: she's out. All right, guys, we got to get out
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: of here. You can email us or instagram us your
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: thoughts on today's Strawberry Letter. At Steve Harvey FM. Coming
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: up in about ten minutes, we're going to tell you
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: about this new mystery surrounding the death of James Brown,
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: the Godfather of soul. Was he murdered? We'll talk about
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: it right after this. You're listening to this Dave Harvey
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: Morning Show. All right, boy, this story right here hit everybody,
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: I think in the gut. Now, you remember when James
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: Brown died back in two thousand and six, in December,
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: I think it was right before Christmas or on Christmas Day.
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: His official cause of death was said to be congestive
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: heart failure resulting in complications from pneumonia. But it seems
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: a lot of people just don't believe that. They're not
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: buying that. In fact, a brand new CNN investigation reveals
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: that at least thirteen people suspect foul play in connection
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: with the Godfather of Soul's death. Nearly one hundred and
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: forty people were interviewed for the and an investigation, with
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: over a dozen people calling for either a criminal investigation
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: into his death or for an autopsy to be done
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: on his exhumed body. And these aren't just fans questioning
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: his cause of death. Doctor Marvin Crawford, who signed mister
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: Brown's death certificate, now says he has doubts that James
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: Brown died from natural causes and actually thinks he may
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: have overdosed. Actually he can't say whether whether it was Well,
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: what do you signed a destitute people, Well, he signed
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: a death certificate because there was he died. Yeah, But
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: don't you have to sign a death certificate with cause
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: on it? You have to say why what you think
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: the cause of death was? Yes, and so at the
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: time he thought it was natural causes. He now says
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: he doubts that James Brown died from natural causes, and
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: he actually thinks he may have overdosed, although he can't
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: say whether it was accidental or not. That's what doctor
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: Crawford saying. His job was simply to sign a death certificate.
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: He didn't do autopsies of them that obviously. No, they
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: haven't done an autopsy yet. Doctor Crawford treated James Brown
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: at an Atlanta hospital and says he believes that mister
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: Brown's condition changed too fast. He died that night, and
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: I did raise that question what went wrong in that room,
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: other people questioning, other people questioning mister Brown's cause of death.
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: Point to his personal manager, Charles Bobbitt, who says he
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: was the only one with him. He heard James Brown
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: complaining that his chest was on fire before he laid
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: down and died. The police never opened a criminal investigation
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: when mister Brown died back in two thousand and six,
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: nor did they perform an autopsy at the request of
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: his family. Now, if you want more details on a story,
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: you can go to CNN dot com. This is thirteen
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: years later. Yeah, yeah, this is sad. So I'm sitting
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: here and I'm thinking after thirteen years. Why is this
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: just not coming out as it's somebody running wild with
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: a conspiracy theory and now because it makes news and
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: you can get eyeballs, here comes is this CNN dot
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: com or something? Yeah, that's what I just said. You
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: can get more details on CNN dot com And there's
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: an investigation though, Steve. It's a lot of information. They
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: interviewed a lot of people, so it's not bloggish. It's
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: more of like a documentary on a website. They didn't
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: show it on TV, so it's information and you're trying
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: to find out why did it get started? Who's started it?
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: With a woman involved to here's my question. A documentary
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: on a website? Say that? So now let me ask
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: you something. Is that an official police investigation or this
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: is just some people investigate it? That's my only question. Well,
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: they're saying the police never opened a criminal investigation back
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: when he died in two thousand and six. So this
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: is what I want to be weary of. I just
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: want to be conscious of this. I want us to
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: just think, why is this just not coming out? You know,
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: people can write anything and post it and make it
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: sound like, oh so factually news worthy, but I think
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: until you get a police investor reopen the case. Well,
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: let's just say this now, we all know CNN is
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: a credible news source. We do know that they are. Well.
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: It says nearly one hundred and forty people were interviewed
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: for this investigation by CNN, with over a dozen more
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: calling for either they're calling for a criminal investigation or
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: for an autopsy to be done. So that it took
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: us three years to put after he died, to put
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: him in there. Yeah, he was offinded, go back. His
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: body was out a very long time. Yes, it was. Yeah,
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: so a lot. He has a lot of witnesses and information.
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: It's a lot of information that they're talking about with
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: this particular case. And why wasn't an autopsy ordered from
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: the family, because, yeah, they have to request in autopsy.
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: They don't just automatically do it. Are you saying the
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: family autopsy? They did not. They did not request one.
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: That's why they didn't do it. They did get one. Huh,
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: he was out long enough to get he was in
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: the front yard. He was in the in the front room.
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: Are you guys serious right now? Surely James in the
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: front yard for months. I know that, but come on,
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: we don't say it, don't say what it was. I
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: was tried, Shirley. What really, guys, really, especially you you. Yeah,
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: how Augusta feels about you? And I love Augusta. Augusta.
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: Everybody know this was wrong. Yeah, I mean we reported
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: on it. I mean we talked about it during that time.
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: We were on the Steve Harvey Morning Show. We talked
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: about Jewish faith. The body has to be in the
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: ground at a certain time the next day. I don't
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: know which one. I don't know the route, but I
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: know they specifically the body has to be down centime.
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: Black people. All a sudden, you just up in the
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: front yard on the tent with some lights. Man. Come on. Yeah, So,
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: anyway to answer your question, the police, as I said,
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: the police never opened a criminal investigation when he died.
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: Because you guys are taking it some place. We're trying
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: to be serious here, We're taking it. He was out
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: for old at the request of his family. They did
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: not perform an autopsy. If you want more details, go
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: to CNN dot com. We'll be back with reality Update
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: and Carla right after this. You guys, you're listening to
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. I'm ready, I'm ready, and she

- 1:17:09Speaker 1: who got kicked out the house? Who don't say Lo? Lo? No?
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: What's the name? Cato? Cato Katokay, okay, okay. They don't
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: go get kicked out of every house he in. He
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: always as somebody house that house. Guess right, don'tuse ever
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: got nowhere on his own. That is the funniest thing,
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: just be getting his ass put up. He couldn't stay
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: it old job, he couldn't stay in the cars. He
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: got a big brother. They put us Real Talk Vibe
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: no where. He ain't never been on no show. What
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: why do you get kicked out? Carla? Well, here's the thing,
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: you know, straight down, what is his profession calling? I
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: guess media personality. He's a ter. He ought to be
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: the spokesperson for A. Oh my god, that's a great idea.
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: I'm listening. Where does he live? That's hilarious, that's funny.
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: That is okay. So here's the deal, Kato Kaylin. You
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: know they, you know, in the celebrity big Brother in
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: the house, they all try to make these alliances so
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: they could kind of like all stick together. So it
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: was Cato, you know, comedian Tom Greene, and Lolo and
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: they get the strongest out right. Yeah, that's that's what
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: you should do if you're smart about it. But guess
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: who got some strategy? And he's just really kind playing
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: all of them, real slick with it. I have no idea.
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: Former NFL star Ricky Willis Ricky is slick. Yes, yes,
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: he's very slick. I like Ricky Ricky just he'll go
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: to one group and talk to him, then he go
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: to another group. What they said, rick Rickety campaigning A Yeah,
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: so they looking like Dane Ricky he don't care. He's
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: playing a game. He's smart with it. So anyway, long
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: story short, Kato Kaylin. He's at the house. And then
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: they had to do this house head of household challenge
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: and it was a haunted house, so the house guests
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: had to make their way through this haunted house to
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: find a set of keys in the fastest time. Well
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: guess who didn't do the challenge at all? That damn
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: Kato because he don't know where the kids turning. He
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: didn't have to do he didn't, he was he was exempted.
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: But guess who didn't do it. Hey, hey, Mare, there
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: you go. No, she didn't do it. She said, I
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: don't do hunted houses. I don't do no Halloween. I
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: don't do clowns. I don't do snakes, which I had
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: rag on and the girl girls, what you say? Whatever?
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: The glasses or whatever it was over hidden these futuristic
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: glasses when she got into Yeah, yeah she didn't wear those,
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: but pretty much she threw in the towel. She didn't
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: do the challenge. So but they had this little twist
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: to the game. Well, the viewers got to kind of
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: like be a publicist if you will, for the celebrity
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: and get to choose which celebrity they would like to
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: say from getting voted out. And guess who the publicist
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: which is us, the American people, the viewers, guess who
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: we voted to say Tamar Tamara Because like you said
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: last week, Steve, yes, you are absolutely correct. So there
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: you have it. So I think the season finale is
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: coming up, uh maybe tonight or next week, but I
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: know they got a special show coming on Big Brother
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: Celebrity Big Brother tonight, so I'm gonna be watching. In
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: an update, but where's Kato gonna stay tonight? At Steve?
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: That is so funny. That is so funny, and we
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: have Steve your girl. Real Housewives of Atlanta starts. Cynthia Bailey,
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: I lost my train of thought. Listen to this. She
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: ran into who she thought was New England Patriots quarterback
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: Tom Brady in Atlanta in the lobby of the Saint
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: Regis Hotels. So funny. She took a selfie with this
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: unknown man and she talked about the experience of meeting
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: Tom Brady on the red carpet. Then she posted the
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: picture and then she text her boyfriend, you know he's
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: a sportscaster Mike Hill and you know that's Steve. You
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: kind of hooked them up. Yeah. Yeah. So she's telling
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: her man that she meant tom Brady and she was
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: like who is that? And she was like that tom Brady.
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: He's like that ain't no tom Brady. Did you post that? Yeah? Yeah,
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: she had all that post what just like Marjorie Margine
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: on't but no, damn supposed Patriot had on. Just Holly,
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: I saw that at the game. I took my mother
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: daughter to the super Bowl. Morgan at the Super Bowl
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: with the Rams Jersey on. Yeah. When when Golf through
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: that interception in the fourth quarter and uh and and
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: the Patriots intercepted, Morgan jumped up, just Holly, Yes, I said,
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: sit your ass er, the Patriots just innocent. That wasn't
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: a good play for your team. Shout out to Morgan.
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: I talked to that other day. Had the time, So
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: there you go. There you go. Reality updates, some of
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: the reality stars. They were all kicking it in at
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: Lanta this past weekend for the Super Bowl. And we'll
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: be back. But at twenty after the hour, hit me
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: up at lip Spark, Carla, so we can keep talking
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: about this socially. All Show. We'll have more of the
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show coming up right after this. You're
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, Tommy, did
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: you have something you wanted to ask your uncle? I do?
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: I got it because I don't know has heard about this?
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: So um brace yourself? Are you ready? The Lakers? Okay?
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: The Lakers have reportedly offered eight players include check this
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: out nine Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, brandon Ingram, who first
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: round picks, expiring contracts and offered to take Solomon Heel's
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: toxic contract off their hands. All of this for Anthony Davis. Hey, Pelicans, Yeah, y'all,
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: but the Pelicans here, thanks for no thing. What they're
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: not letting them go? See See, the Pelicans is trying
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: to be pimps, But the Pelicans is gonna mess around
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: and get played. They're gonna get played because one more
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: time ticket at a Lonzo Ball Kyle Kuzma, brandon Ingram,
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: who first round picks all right, expiring contracts, offered to
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: take Solomon Hills toxic contract off their hands. Take that
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: away from you. All we want is Anthony Davis now
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: with the two picks and all that talent they could
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: have a squad, they could have a squad, but for really,
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: can I say this, y'all, that's gonna throw you for
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: Curry Lee m probably the best basketball player on the
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: planet with the most upside and tenued left to play. Really,
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: Anthony Davis. Anthony Davis right now the greatest basketball player
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: on the planet with the most upside and tenued to play.
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: In a very very close second in with the most
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: upside and tenued to play, is that boy in the
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: Milwaukee Bucks, that damn Greek freak. Well, they're saying Steve
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: Anthony Davis wants to play for the Bucks. The Lakers
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: are the Clippers. Clippers, so so wait a minute. I'm
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: I'm just saying, though, with all those people they're offering
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: for him, how much money that's like a billion dollars
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: or something, isn't I mean, that's a lot of money.
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: I mean, I know it's not a billion, I know that,
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: But they don't They they gonna wait and see what
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: Boston want to do. They're gonna wait and seek. But
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: the Bucks, the Bucks can't get Anthony Davis because they
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: have nothing to give for Anthony Davis. The Bucks, not Bucks,
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: ain't got enough surrounding players to give up. They're not
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: gonna give up the Greek freaky. Ain't no way they
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: give him that. They can't give him up. He's too great.
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: He's greatness man up there in Milwalk. If y'all saw
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: more games of him, yeah we would understand that boy
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: right there. Expect I saw that a sixty minutes piece
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: on him. This happened. Yeah, man, Magic, they gonna make
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: it happen. They're gonna throw in everything and throw money
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: at him. And they got paper. Yeah they must. Now,
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: the trade deadline is today, it's today, NBA trade is
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: today's today. But see what the Pelicans gonna do is
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: they're gonna let your trade deadline go by. Yeah, they
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: gonna keep Anthony Davis, I predict, and just try to
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: hold him to the end of the season and see
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: what they got. But they're gonna mess around and mess
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: up what you cannot have as a guy on your
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: team that don't want to be And Magic usually gets
- 1:27:14Speaker 1: what he wants. I mean, his track record has proven
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: that they should have threw me in eight movies and
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: fox Weed Dispensers. It gave all that tour. You know
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: what I'm saying didn't put put a little bit more woman,
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: Lad Martha, that's your nephew, Steve. We'll let marm Steve.
- 1:27:34Speaker 1: Every morning show coming up right after this. You're listening
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: to show in today's Entertainment news, the Motown sixty. This

- 1:27:53Speaker 1: a legend himself. He's going to co host the April
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: twenty first CBS event with Steve one of the King,
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: Cedric the Entertainer. Rounding out the cast or fellow Motown Uh,
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: Cedric the Entertainer was going to co host Motown sixty,

- 1:28:36Speaker 1: all divas, Miss Diana Ross. Love her, love her, love her,
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: love her. They can do anything close to what they
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: did in the twenty five Remember twenty five? Oh yes, everybody,
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: that's when Michael Jackson went into the stratosphere after that
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: with Billy Jean. Yeah, come on now, Marvin. Motown twenty
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: five was the greatest music special in the history of Yes,
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: Motown twenty five was greater than any Grammys we've ever seen.
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: Michael Jackson and the Jackson's performance was the Grammys. The greatest.
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: Two greatest Grammy performances I've ever seen Michael Jackson at
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: the Grammys. I think it was the Grammys one year
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: he did Smooth Criminal. His sister Janet stood up and
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: was just crying. And then when Michael Jackson did Man
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: in the Mirror with the choir behind him at the Grammys.
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: The next greatest Grammy performance I ever saw Kendrick Lamar. Oh,
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: Kidrick Lamar's performance at the Grammys the other year was
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: one after Michael Jackson. I've never seen nothing greater than
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: that with you when you're right now. And I called
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: him and told him that, man, Oh what did he say? Hey,
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: you didn't even tell us? What do you say? Oh, man, uncle?
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: Oh yeah, he was a good brother. Man. Man, I'm
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: calling my grandmama. Man, Steve Harvey call. That has to
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: be that has to be something special for the young
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: guys out there now to get love from you, Steve.
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: I'm sure you know you know, man, the ones that's respectful.
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: You know, everybody's not respectful, and I get that, you know.
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: I mean, here's a deal though with me as a man.
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: You don't have to like me. You really don't respect though,
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: but you do have to respect me though, and you
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: should respect me. And because I respect everybody's body of work,
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: I respect everybody's existence in this world. I respect you.
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: You may not be my dude. You know, we ain't
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: hanging or nothing like that, but there's a lot of
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: people I don't hang with that I respect. Well, let
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: me say this though, all y'all that's calling him uncle,
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: I'm gonna let that slide. Okay, I'm gonna let that slide.
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: But y'all do have your own damn uncles. Ain't y'all family?
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: Y'all do? Why y'all ain't holiday at them? I'm just
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: saying your own uncle. Man? Wait, set though, did you
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: not say otis Williams and temptations? Uh? Anybody coming to
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: see you? All? Right? Coming up the last break of
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: the day, Steve will have some closing remarks for us.
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: Don't go anywhere. We'll be back at forty nine minutes
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: after the hour, right after this you're listening to all right, Steve,
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: it's been a good day. We've had fun today, talked
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: about a lot, a lot, a lot of stuff. But
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: you have more stuff to take us home with today
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: with your closing remarks. What you got for Steve? Well
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: my remarks today? Uh is it light of all the
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: news that's been on television and for us as regular people,
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: how do we how do we manage it all? How
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: do we inter how do we decipher it to fit
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: into our lives? And one of the things that I
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: watch all these politicians and politics is it's not a
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: really clean profession. To me, it's so it's so doggish, man,
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: it's so cutthroat. It seems so hypocritical at times, and everybody,
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: if you're in a certain party, you all feel the
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: same way. And I just don't believe that to be true.
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: I just don't really believe that. I think that people
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: in politics state take stances with their group so that
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: they can have power as a unit. Nobody agrees with
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: everything anybody does. I don't have yet to meet that person,
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: and so I don't want us to take a page
- 1:32:57Speaker 1: from politics. I'm talking about forgiveness. You know, this whole
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: thing about their going in people's past and they and
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: they holding them accountable for it. I want us to
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: remember something. Remember when you were little and you would
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: taught the Lord's Prayer, and there's a line in that says,
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: forgive us our trust passes, as we forgive those who
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: trust passed against us. The other version is forgive us
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: our debts, as we forgive our debtors. I was taught
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: to believe that what that meant was when you say, God,
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: forgive us our trust passes, as we forgive those who
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: trust passed against us. I was taught by my mother,
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: who was a Sunday school teacher, that that meant that
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: we are going to trustpass. She says, son, you are
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: going to cross a line of where you're not supposed
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: to go, be due or see, and you are going
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: to cross that line. You are going to have to
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: ask God for forgiveness for those those trestpasses for all
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: the times, little Stevie, that you will cross that line
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: into territories and things that you're just not supposed to do.
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: So when you go to God and you ask God
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: for forgiveness of those trustpasses. The next line says, as
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: we forgive those who trestpass against us, so God holds
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: us accountable. This is what my mother taught me. You
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: may have a whole nother interpretation. That's you. I'm just
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: telling you. So. She said, when people do real wrong
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: and cross your line, the way you forgive them is
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: the way God is going to forgive you. She said,
- 1:34:44Speaker 1: that's what that line me. She says, So if you
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: want to ask God for forgiveness, you're going to have
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: to be more forgiving. She said. You can't hold grudges,
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: and you can't hold people today mistakes and ask God
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: to forgive you for your mistakes. She said, that's what
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: that line in that prayer me. And you say that
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: every night because you're gonna do a lot of wrong.
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: And Lord her mercy, was she right about that? So
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: in light of what my mother taught me as a
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: little boy, and I've tried to carry that on and
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: I haven't always been good at it, I want you
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: to know I held something malice in my heart for
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: a guy for seven years. For seven years, I held
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: malice in my heart for this guy. Probably not that
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: long but I think it's about seven as I remember,
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: give or take a few. But I had to one
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: day forgive him. And I learned on the day that
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: I let it go, the relief that I felt. And
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: as I've grown older, I've learned that forgiveness is not
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: for the other person. See you're sitting up here here
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: that I ain't gonna ever forgive him. I'm not gonna
- 1:35:53Speaker 1: ever let them off the hook. What they did to me,
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: I'm gonna make them pay. So now what it caused
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: me to do, was it caused me I have to
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: put thought and energy into that. Every time I heard
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: his name, every time I heard he was over here,
- 1:36:05Speaker 1: over there, every time something happened. Man, I had to
- 1:36:09Speaker 1: conjure up his name and what I was gonna do
- 1:36:12Speaker 1: when I saw it. Bishop Jake's told me, not forgiving
- 1:36:17Speaker 1: a person, It's like you drinking the poison, waiting on
- 1:36:21Speaker 1: them to die. So what I'm saying all of this
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: is to say this, we need to be forgiving us people.
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: We need to understand that the past tresgressions of people.
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: Who are we to hold people accountable to that? That's
- 1:36:40Speaker 1: the amazing thing? Who are we? You ever heard the
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: phrase people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones,
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: you know. So I'm sitting up here going all of
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: us are gonna be in need, are currently in need,
- 1:36:59Speaker 1: or we'll need or have needed God's forgiveness. But we
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: can't seem to muster up none for nobody else. So
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: I keep hearing my mama all the time, forgive us
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: our trust passes, and we've gived those to trust pass
- 1:37:14Speaker 1: against us. I want us to not take a page
- 1:37:17Speaker 1: from politics, because politics has political reasons for bringing up
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: a person's path. They want a seat in the house,
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: they want to try to get control of this state,
- 1:37:27Speaker 1: and they keep bringing up stuff from people's past to
- 1:37:31Speaker 1: bury them. Currently. That's a dangerous slope we've got on.
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: So for those of us that's not in that business,
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: stay out of that business. Be forgiving because you two
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: are going to need forgiveness one day and God is
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: going to forgive you the same way you forgive others.
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: So we all need to be a little bit careful.
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: Just think about that in your day to day. Okay,
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: I just want to say that to you today. Oh
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: that's what I want to say today, by drop it. Yeah,
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: that was as everyone should forgive you're absolutely right. I'm
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: telling you manager, it serves no purpose. Yeah, I don't
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: ever want to go back in y'all's pass and bring
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: something up and say y'all for all. Steve Harvey contests
