Transcript
- 0:05Hey guys, I'm back again. Welcome to another episode of
- 0:08Aligned and Thriving for teachers, educators, all of the
- 0:12human beings out there. Really.
- 0:14Last week we kicked off the miniseries with the BIG4 laws,
- 0:18and I'm going to continue to add on to this.
- 0:21So in case you forgot what last week was about because it's been
- 0:24a week, last week I talked about the Law of Oneness, the Law of
- 0:29vibration, the law of correspondence, and the Law of
- 0:33attraction and how they all shape the energy in your
- 0:39classroom space. So today we're going to dive
- 0:43into the next set, which I want to call the action and growth
- 0:47laws. These are the ones that remind
- 0:50us that it's not enough to just think or dream.
- 0:54We also got to do OK, the universe meets us in that side
- 1:00of the effort. So this is the action and the
- 1:03time when you will do the action and then grow.
- 1:06So today we're going to look at the law of inspired action, the
- 1:10law of perpetual transmutation of energy.
- 1:13I like the name of that one, the law of cause and effect and the
- 1:17law of compensation. And as always, I'm going to give
- 1:20you some practical ways that you can start applying all of these
- 1:24in your daily teaching practise. And Nyla just continues to star
- 1:29in this podcast. It's fantastic.
- 1:32I'm just going to have to sort that wonderful little fluffy
- 1:36human out before I continue. But that's what we're going to
- 1:39talk about today. We're going to talk about the
- 1:41next 4 laws, Law of Inspired Action, perpetual transmutation
- 1:46of energy, the law of cause and effect, and the law of
- 1:49compensation. So those.
- 1:50OK, OK. So we're going to start with #1
- 1:53the Law of Inspired Action. Manifestation is not just about
- 1:58visualising. OK, amazing if it was, though.
- 2:02Imagine if you could like, just picture something in your head
- 2:04and then you just have it. I mean, we'd all be driving
- 2:08these fancy cars, living in amazing houses.
- 2:11Like all of the things. That's not how it works.
- 2:14It's all about taking steps that align with your intuition and
- 2:19your goals. This is called inspired action.
- 2:23It feels different from forced action because it's that little
- 2:27nudge you get to try a new strategy to check in with that
- 2:31quiet student or to start that project that you've been putting
- 2:34off. It's like the little poke from
- 2:36the universe saying let's go do that.
- 2:39As teachers, we often get really caught up in the grind of our To
- 2:43Do List. I'm very guilty of that
- 2:45sometimes. But the magic really happens
- 2:48when we act on those intuitive nudges that just feel exciting,
- 2:52light or purposeful really. So some Acton, Acton active.
- 2:58I was trying to say active steps for you.
- 3:00Actions, actions. That's what I'm trying to say.
- 3:03Some actions that you can do. So notice the little ideas that
- 3:09just pop into your head and write them down and maybe try
- 3:12one of those this week. It's those little things that
- 3:15just go, oh, maybe if I did it this way it would work better.
- 3:18Try it and see what happens. If a lesson idea excites you,
- 3:22then just run with that. Even if it's not to your plan,
- 3:27you can always make it work. There's ways to make those
- 3:29things work, make space for your creativity.
- 3:33Give yourself permission to follow what lights you up.
- 3:38I mean, hello, this is pretty much me doing this podcast.
- 3:42I'm following what is lighting me up?
- 3:44I had a little nudge from the universe to go.
- 3:46Maybe I should do that. The little nudge being my
- 3:48husband pretty much. But following that and look
- 3:52where we are. Amazing.
- 3:54It was those inspired actions that sort of got me to the stage
- 3:57that I'm at now. So think about those and follow
- 4:02the excitement. If something makes you feel
- 4:05energised, try it. Just go, give it a go.
- 4:09It's those creative little windows, 10 to 15 minutes a day,
- 4:12that you explore some new teaching approaches or ways that
- 4:15you could connect with your students.
- 4:17Just check in with your own intuition.
- 4:21Pause for 30 seconds before you respond to that challenging
- 4:25situation because what feels like the right action might come
- 4:29to you in time instead of the reactive one, if that makes
- 4:32sense. You have permission to just
- 4:35pause and and wait before you respond.
- 4:37We tell kids that all the time. Think before you speak.
- 4:40Think before you act. You need to do the same before
- 4:42you're going to go and take action on something.
- 4:45Maybe stop and just reflect and give everyone a chance to slow
- 4:48down. Take a deep breath before you
- 4:51keep moving forward. At the end of your day, when
- 4:54you're doing your lovely journal time and having a bit of a
- 4:56reflect, jot down some inspired action that you might have taken
- 5:01and what difference it might have made.
- 5:03And if you honestly have no idea of what inspired actions might
- 5:07be for you or what they might look like, again, AI can be
- 5:11super helpful. I've used it before with this
- 5:14exact situation. So say there was a goal that
- 5:16you're working towards and you really wanted something to
- 5:19occur, you can ask AI, what are some aligned actions that I
- 5:23could possibly take to help guide me onto that path?
- 5:27I want to be that. So how do I get to that?
- 5:30What are some steps that I could take to get to that?
- 5:32Because that's it's going to help you.
- 5:34It's going to help guide you in the right direction.
- 5:36And then those inspired little actionable steps will help you
- 5:40manifest and get to what you want.
- 5:42OK, so that is all about that law.
- 5:44The second one I want to talk about today, the big one, big
- 5:48words I should say, the law of perpetual transmutation of
- 5:53energy. Now this law is saying that
- 5:56energy is always moving and changing.
- 6:00That's what the perpetual transmutation.
- 6:02So it's always moving, it's always changing.
- 6:05The powerful part is that you can shift your low energy into
- 6:10high energy. So the stress, frustration or
- 6:13the negativity, it doesn't just have to stay stuck, it can be
- 6:17transmuted. Like in teaching, this might
- 6:20look like taking a chaotic class and using some humour, some
- 6:23movement, some calm presence, some rain breaks to shift that
- 6:26energy. It's about remembering that you
- 6:30don't have to stay in that vibe that you walked into.
- 6:34So big one for relief teachers. If you walk into that classroom
- 6:38and that vibe is off, you're going to have to do something
- 6:40about that. So you're going to have to start
- 6:41a meeting, a really high vibe or a really low vibe to try and get
- 6:45them to match your vibe, if that makes sense.
- 6:47So it's that whole part of passing the energy round.
- 6:50So some actions that you could do in this space is when energy
- 6:55starts to dip in, you change it. You stand up, you move, you
- 6:57clap, you switch activities, you do something different.
- 7:00I've done that a million times before.
- 7:02When you're going, Oh my gosh, this isn't working, they're
- 7:03crashing, they're burning, I need to change it.
- 7:05Get up, move around, make a change, make a switch.
- 7:08Use humour or music to reset the room's vibe.
- 7:12I know when I've got lots and lots of high vibe kids, I might
- 7:15search a a particular like beat of music and I can't for the
- 7:19life of me remember stuff often on my head.
- 7:20But you can search the different levels that you need to start
- 7:24bringing the vibe down. You can actually look up
- 7:26playlists on YouTube for classrooms that are like a low
- 7:28vibe playlist to start bringing the vibes down because those
- 7:32rhythmic beats will bring their heart rates down and then
- 7:35everyone will start being In Sync of that vibe.
- 7:38OK, so that might help and the same with building it up
- 7:42personally. You've got to shift your own
- 7:44energy first though. You need to do your breathing
- 7:46before you react, especially to those tough situations.
- 7:49You can say I just need a moment or I'm sorry you or you don't
- 7:53even have to say I'm sorry. That's people pleasing there.
- 7:55Don't do that. Just name up, pause, hold that
- 8:01thought. I just need to go do and have
- 8:04your exit strategy or interesting.
- 8:06Can we just park that and we'll come back to that tomorrow at
- 8:09this time? I've seen a lot of principals do
- 8:11that in that space. OK, yeah, we've talked about
- 8:13this. Let's park that for today and
- 8:15we'll come back to that and I'll touch base with you tomorrow
- 8:17around that. It gives you a break.
- 8:19It gives you some space to stop and think about what your next
- 8:22action or your steps going to be.
- 8:23OK, So you can think about all that in that relation of the
- 8:27whole perpetual transmutation of the energy again.
- 8:30See, are you noticing that all of these laws are like
- 8:32connected? They all talk to each other and
- 8:33they all work with each other. The So yeah, it's always moving.
- 8:38It's always changing. Taking a deep breath myself.
- 8:41So you can shift the whole energy of your room immediately
- 8:45by doing some of those actions with the sound, with the music,
- 8:48with moving. You need to model the calm
- 8:50first. So if you're calm, you're gonna
- 8:53emit that and their energy's gonna start mirroring that.
- 8:57Humour as a tool, as I've talked about, have some light jokes or
- 9:01playful interactions that can break tension instantly to help
- 9:04lift the collective mood. Have them as a tool and reflect
- 9:08and reinforce at the end of your lessons, notice what worked,
- 9:11what didn't work, what's best way to shift that energy and
- 9:14keep the mental toolkit in there for next time.
- 9:17Ready to go #3 for today, The law of cause and effect.
- 9:22Again, this probably relates a little bit to karma. 2 is it's
- 9:27the whole, is it Isaac Newton, Newton's law of physics?
- 9:31Oh gosh, I'm thinking back to high school now.
- 9:33Like every action creates a reaction.
- 9:36Whatever you put out comes back. OK, So in your classroom or in
- 9:42your workspace, your consistency, your kindness, your
- 9:45follow through, it all matters because that's creating trust
- 9:49and predictability within your classroom environment.
- 9:51And that's what's going to come back to you throughout the year.
- 9:53We know this as teachers and educators that when you let
- 9:57expectations slide, the behaviour slides completely.
- 10:01When you hold the line with fairness, students will rise to
- 10:05meet it. That cause and effect law.
- 10:09It's like nature's way of reminding us that our actions
- 10:12always like echo, like Nyla's college just echoed when she was
- 10:16shaking her little body next to me.
- 10:18Anyway, sorry, distracted. So that's that's how that works.
- 10:24So for us as teachers in practise, we need to remember
- 10:28that consistency is key. Pick one classroom rule or
- 10:32expectation and stick to that one for every day for like a
- 10:35week so that your kids are learning that your boundaries
- 10:39are reliable and consistent. Work on that.
- 10:42Just focus on one and get that right.
- 10:45Then go on to your next one. Take some small daily actions.
- 10:49Maybe there's one kid that you need to really check in with
- 10:52every day. Check in with that student,
- 10:53Provide some positive feedback. Acknowledge their effort.
- 10:57Those tiny little things, they compound into big effects over
- 11:01time. Think about these kids that are
- 11:03really hard to love. You know the ones, you know who
- 11:06they are. You know that they never have a
- 11:08sick day. They are always there, always
- 11:11there, and they are looking for attention, sometimes in the
- 11:14wrong way. So reward them with attention
- 11:16when they've done it in the right way.
- 11:18You can find something to love in every single student.
- 11:23It may be hard and it may be small, but you can find
- 11:27something. So you might need to work really
- 11:29hard on yourself to change that in your head.
- 11:32But those small daily actions will count.
- 11:35Reflect on the results. So at the end of every week,
- 11:38again, look at your outcomes, reflect on it, journal on it.
- 11:42What reactions did my actions create and what are the changes
- 11:45I want to make? You need to model cause and
- 11:48effect. Show students how your actions
- 11:51have and create consequences, both positive and negative, so
- 11:55that they can see the law in action OK.
- 11:59And celebrate those positive outcomes when students respond
- 12:03well to consistent actions. Acknowledge it and reinforce the
- 12:07pattern, because then they're going to do it again.
- 12:08Cause and effect. That's just how it works #4 for
- 12:12today. The law of compensation.
- 12:15Now, obviously, this is the law about receiving in proportion to
- 12:19what you give. So compensate.
- 12:21It's not going to be always immediate or obvious, but the
- 12:27universe will always balance out the energy, the effort, the
- 12:31integrity that you put in. It's all going to come back to
- 12:34you. Sometimes it might come back to
- 12:36you through a student breakthrough, some positive
- 12:38relationships building, or even those opportunities you didn't
- 12:41even see coming. But as teachers, sometimes we
- 12:45feel like the effort is just endless and the reward is
- 12:48invisible. But trust that what you saw,
- 12:53what you saw, what you saw and what you see in your classroom.
- 12:56I should say what you see in your classroom and what you sow,
- 13:00the seeds that you're you're sowing, you will eventually reap
- 13:03like you'll reap the reward. If you keep being consistent and
- 13:06turning up and having those boundaries and that whole idea
- 13:09of cause and effect, it's all going to come back to you.
- 13:12All of these laws are saying the same thing.
- 13:14They all flow together. They all start with you.
- 13:17OK, Acknowledge your efforts. Write down three wins you've had
- 13:21each week, no matter how small. Again, gratitude, highest
- 13:25vibration. Practise some generosity.
- 13:28Share your resources, Mentor a colleague, and just watch what
- 13:32happens when you actually choose positivity.
- 13:35Really choose to share sharing, scaring people and trust the
- 13:39long game. I know that's hard, but remember
- 13:43that today's little bit of extra effort may bloom in a student
- 13:47years later. It's going to be those kids that
- 13:51you've worked so hard and then they see you in the street when
- 13:54they're an adult and they're like, you're the teacher.
- 13:57I remember because you cared about me, You loved me.
- 14:02Like I actually was aware that I married in your classroom.
- 14:06It's those moments. OK, The last one, that's what I
- 14:10was talking about, the law of compensation.
- 14:11So I am up to #4 I had to remind myself I got, I got lost in my
- 14:14thoughts. So you're going to acknowledge
- 14:15your efforts, You're going to practise generosity.
- 14:17You invest in your students, You have that long term perspective
- 14:22and just celebrate, celebrate, celebrate, celebrate.
- 14:25Whenever students achieve something, reflect on your
- 14:27contribution because it's proof. It's it's just proof of that
- 14:31compensation law in action and showing you what actually
- 14:33happens. So those are all of the action
- 14:38and growth sort of laws, the inspired action, the
- 14:41transmutation of energy, the cause and effect and the
- 14:43compensation. So when you get back, they
- 14:45remind us that teaching it's it's not just about intention,
- 14:48it's about action. We all have great intentions,
- 14:52but we need to make sure that we're following that up with
- 14:54action and that the energy and the choices that we're making
- 14:57every single day, they really do create those ripple effects.
- 15:01So this week my challenge to you is, excuse me, I was going to
- 15:05have a go. I challenge you to choose one
- 15:08one of these things. So maybe it's noticing an
- 15:11intuitive nudge and just following it, or maybe it's
- 15:14shifting the whole vibe of your classroom with humour instead of
- 15:17that frustration. Whatever it is, just start
- 15:20experimenting, OK? Give something a try.
- 15:25In the next episode, I'm going to close out the miniseries.
- 15:28Thanks, Nyla, of how to navigate challenges to find balance and
- 15:33flow with the rhythm of teaching.
- 15:35It's the final set of laws, so you don't want to miss this one.
- 15:38It's the last four. So until then, I want you to
- 15:40keep showing up, keep taking action, trusting the ripple
- 15:44effect. This is aligned and thriving for
- 15:46teachers. But again, it's more than that.
- 15:48It's for anyone who has anything to do with humans, no matter
- 15:50what size I feel. But in case you haven't been
- 15:53told, today you are doing an amazing, amazing job.
- 15:56You are so loved and so cared for.
- 15:59And if you need someone to check in with or talk to, my inbox is
- 16:02always open. So feel free to send me Adm,
- 16:04Send me your memes. Feel me with humour.
- 16:06I'm happy as to get your memes and your quotes.
- 16:08I love it right? Don't if you see my Instagram,
- 16:10that's pretty much pretty much what it is like memes and and
- 16:13quotes love it, love it want to share it with the world.
- 16:16So until then, I will see you next time stay aligned and
- 16:20subscribing and I'll talk to you again soon.
- 16:22Bye bye.
