- 1:42Speaker 1: You got to turn them out to turn the water
- 1:47Speaker 1: the water. Go me come come on your back. Uh huh,
- 2:02Speaker 1: I sure will a good morning everybody. You're listening to
- 2:06Speaker 1: the voice, Come on dig me now, one and only
- 2:09Speaker 1: Steve Harvey. I got a radio show, just trying to
- 2:14Speaker 1: give God some back, just some back of what even
- 2:19Speaker 1: gave me, just a portion, you know. Just I'm just trying,
- 2:23Speaker 1: man to to show some type of gratitude for all
- 2:29Speaker 1: his blessings. I'm just trying to, man, just just get
- 2:34Speaker 1: it right sometimes, you know what I mean. I mean, man,
- 2:37Speaker 1: you just can't do what you want to do and
- 2:39Speaker 1: just live wrong all the time. Man, you got it
- 2:41Speaker 1: at one point in time, Steve, come home. Man, come on, man,
- 2:45Speaker 1: you could do better. I know you can, you know saying,
- 2:49Speaker 1: and you know what I had to do. I had
- 2:50Speaker 1: to stop saying. I'm gonna try to do better. And
- 2:53Speaker 1: I just had to say, hey, man, I'm going to
- 2:55Speaker 1: do better. You know, trying it's just to put forth
- 2:59Speaker 1: in that and then if it don't work, well okay.
- 3:02Speaker 1: But if you make up in your mind that I'm
- 3:04Speaker 1: going to do something, then trying isn't enough. It's getting
- 3:08Speaker 1: it done is the only thing that matters. Sin It's
- 3:10Speaker 1: the difference between doing and trying. We're gonna try to
- 3:14Speaker 1: win the game, or we're gonna go out here to
- 3:16Speaker 1: win the game. Now, trying to win the game means
- 3:18Speaker 1: that you could lose. But when you got in your
- 3:21Speaker 1: mind made up, most athletes will tell you that they
- 3:24Speaker 1: go out there with the full intent and purpose of
- 3:27Speaker 1: winning and winning. Only see they don't put the second
- 3:31Speaker 1: place finish on the cover Sports Illustrated. Second place don't
- 3:34Speaker 1: get you there. You got to win. And now take
- 3:38Speaker 1: it out of the scope of athletics, but keep it
- 3:40Speaker 1: in that type of type of analogy in life. Man,
- 3:43Speaker 1: you just want to you want to win in life,
- 3:45Speaker 1: don't you. I mean, at the end of the day,
- 3:48Speaker 1: don't you want to be on the cover Sports Illustrated
- 3:50Speaker 1: the life? Don't you want to be recognized for your
- 3:53Speaker 1: hard work? Don't you want you know to be recognized
- 3:57Speaker 1: within the bonus structure down at your job. Don't you
- 4:00Speaker 1: want to have your plaque up on the wall down
- 4:02Speaker 1: at your job? I mean most people do. Some people
- 4:04Speaker 1: could care less. Some people don't care about looking good
- 4:07Speaker 1: or being their best. And that's cool. But I ain't
- 4:09Speaker 1: talking to them though. I'm talking to you. I'm talking
- 4:12Speaker 1: to those of you who want to be the best
- 4:15Speaker 1: you can be. You know, people kill me when they're
- 4:17Speaker 1: getting mad at people here and he Brown knows and
- 4:21Speaker 1: he hall up on an employee of the moth Man,
- 4:23Speaker 1: the dude doing his job to the best of his ability,
- 4:25Speaker 1: and he getting recognized for it. What they got to do?
- 4:27Speaker 1: It all that you're talking about because you ain't up there.
- 4:29Speaker 1: It's amazing, man, how people describe other people's success. He's
- 4:33Speaker 1: so lucky, lucky? Hey man, don't they kind of get
- 4:37Speaker 1: you a little bit when people call you lucky when
- 4:40Speaker 1: let me tell you what luck really is, y'all. Luck
- 4:42Speaker 1: is when hard work bumps up into opportunity. Some people
- 4:46Speaker 1: call that luck. But hold on, let's let's think about this.
- 4:50Speaker 1: If you wasn't working hard an opportunity presented itself, what
- 4:54Speaker 1: would you call that? But see when you've been working hard,
- 4:57Speaker 1: an opportunity presents itself and it bumps up into each other.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Now people want to call that luck, But hold up here,
- 5:03Speaker 1: go to part though, to day, ain't paying no attention
- 5:04Speaker 1: to Yeah, that opportunity came by. But if you had
- 5:07Speaker 1: not been working hard and the hard work had not
- 5:10Speaker 1: ran up in the opportunity, what would you have? No, sir,
- 5:13Speaker 1: it's not luck, it's work. It is work, because as
- 5:16Speaker 1: a scripture that says, faith without works is dead. But
- 5:21Speaker 1: my mama was a Sunday school teacher. She taught me enough.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Though Now I know different between right and wrong, just
- 5:26Speaker 1: like you do. You ain't gotta you know. Itcused me
- 5:30Speaker 1: when people write a strawberry letter? Am I wrong for this?
- 5:32Speaker 1: You know? Good? Well, look at let's read your letter?
- 5:35Speaker 1: Are you wrong for this? You know? You're wrong? What
- 5:37Speaker 1: you don't need? That's to be telling, you know? But
- 5:39Speaker 1: I'm gonna do this anyway. Well, see, go ahead, though,
- 5:42Speaker 1: do what you want to do. But you know what, y'all,
- 5:45Speaker 1: here's the best advice I can give you. And this
- 5:47Speaker 1: is what I really came to talk about this morning.
- 5:50Speaker 1: But I got sidetrack because I listened get out of
- 5:54Speaker 1: your own way. So many of us are blocking our
- 5:57Speaker 1: home blessings. We just in our own way. We are
- 6:01Speaker 1: in our own way. And one of the most dangerous
- 6:05Speaker 1: ways you can get in your way is to do
- 6:08Speaker 1: it your way, to get it figured your way, and
- 6:12Speaker 1: to lock in on your way and just the way
- 6:14Speaker 1: it's got to go. Do you know how many people
- 6:17Speaker 1: are blocking a blessing? Do you know how long I
- 6:19Speaker 1: blocked mine with that mindset right there? Look, because it's
- 6:24Speaker 1: the way you do it, you think that make it
- 6:26Speaker 1: the right way? You think jazz, because you'd have thought
- 6:29Speaker 1: on it long and hard, and that's what you really want.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Do you really think that your way is the right
- 6:34Speaker 1: way or could that be a better way? See? Until
- 6:37Speaker 1: I started listening to God and started paying attention to
- 6:40Speaker 1: his way, man, I was spending my wheels. Man, I
- 6:44Speaker 1: was out here so determined this is how I was
- 6:46Speaker 1: going to do it. But you know I had to
- 6:48Speaker 1: learn how to get out of my own way because
- 6:50Speaker 1: just because I could do it my way didn't mean
- 6:53Speaker 1: it was the right way. I had to get out
- 6:56Speaker 1: of my own way. Just get out your way, man, Now,
- 7:02Speaker 1: what what does that mean? That means? See? Set your
- 7:07Speaker 1: goals that means have your dreams. That I'm saying, set
- 7:13Speaker 1: your goals. Man, I ain't saying don't set goals. Listen
- 7:16Speaker 1: to me. Set your goals. What is it you want
- 7:18Speaker 1: to happen? What is it you like to have? What
- 7:20Speaker 1: is it you like to be? What are you aspire to?
- 7:24Speaker 1: Set your goals and set your dreams. Now take your
- 7:28Speaker 1: goals and your dreams to God and ask God to
- 7:33Speaker 1: show you how. Man, you can save yourself a lot
- 7:36Speaker 1: of pain. Listen to somebody who did it his way
- 7:41Speaker 1: for so long. And when I finally got out of
- 7:43Speaker 1: my way, out of my own way. When you've heard
- 7:47Speaker 1: old people say let go and let God, you've heard
- 7:50Speaker 1: them say that I didn't. I didn't get it, but
- 7:53Speaker 1: I got it. Now let go and let God. And
- 7:57Speaker 1: it's amazing little saying. Though now you know you may not.
- 8:00Speaker 1: I get it now. It took me a bunch of
- 8:01Speaker 1: years to get it too. But when I took my
- 8:03Speaker 1: goals and my dreams and my vision to God and
- 8:08Speaker 1: I said, God, this is what I hope for, this
- 8:10Speaker 1: is what I aspired to, this is what I want
- 8:12Speaker 1: to be, this is why I would love to get to.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Then I said, help me show me. How point me
- 8:19Speaker 1: in the right direction. Let me follow your footsteps, guide me,
- 8:23Speaker 1: and give me a spirit of discernment. Show me who wrong?
- 8:27Speaker 1: Because I meet people every day. Ain't up to no
- 8:29Speaker 1: good with me every single day? Oh man, Man, I
- 8:33Speaker 1: can't believe I run up into you. Man, the Lord
- 8:36Speaker 1: told me something's gonna happen to me today. Well, see,
- 8:39Speaker 1: I talked to him every day. He did not mention
- 8:41Speaker 1: you to me. He ain't said nothing to me. He
- 8:44Speaker 1: didn't tell me what's gonna happen in mind. Now, I
- 8:46Speaker 1: don't mean it can't happen because I'm open to it.
- 8:49Speaker 1: So really, man, I'm and and please no, I'm listening
- 8:53Speaker 1: to it as well as I've ever listened before. But
- 8:56Speaker 1: but get yourself together, though, see no, your goals and dreams,
- 9:00Speaker 1: and then let God show you how to do it.
- 9:02Speaker 1: He'll do it. You know. It's so important everybody, that
- 9:06Speaker 1: you get focused, that you aim for something, that you
- 9:09Speaker 1: dream of something, that you aspire to something. But it's
- 9:13Speaker 1: the most the best thing you can do. After you
- 9:14Speaker 1: do all that, Man, get God involved in it. Man,
- 9:18Speaker 1: talk to him. I mean, why would you not what
- 9:20Speaker 1: you got to lose? You ain't got to go down
- 9:22Speaker 1: there and make no big scene and run laps around
- 9:25Speaker 1: the church and run up there and throw yourself on
- 9:27Speaker 1: the altar and scream and flip over and throw money
- 9:30Speaker 1: in the air. You ain't got to do that. This
- 9:32Speaker 1: you and God, man, This, you and God. You know
- 9:35Speaker 1: you got to serve and praise him the way you
- 9:37Speaker 1: do it. You gotta let nobody else tell you highs done.
- 9:40Speaker 1: It's a personal relationship. People kill me if you don't
- 9:43Speaker 1: do it this way. If you don't come here to
- 9:44Speaker 1: this church and you don't run around in this circle
- 9:46Speaker 1: and you don't get flipped in and you don't Hey, man,
- 9:49Speaker 1: you better go have a relationship with God. See what
- 9:51Speaker 1: that's about. You understand? Nobody throw you off with all that?
- 9:54Speaker 1: All right, all right, y'all talk to him. He loved
- 9:56Speaker 1: to hear from you today. You're listening morning, ladies and gentlemen.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Let me have it. Yeah, you know what it is.
- 10:06Speaker 1: Attention please uh. This is a matter of fact, speaking
- 10:10Speaker 1: of attention. Today's show is dedicated to people with attention
- 10:14Speaker 1: deficit disorder. Can't hardly pay attention that much. Oh that's
- 10:19Speaker 1: kind of me. Yeah, that's kind of me too. So
- 10:27Speaker 1: now that we know what that is all y'all that
- 10:29Speaker 1: can't pay attention that good. This show is dedicated to you,
- 10:33Speaker 1: and what we're asking you to do today is going
- 10:36Speaker 1: to pay attention. Okay, through your head. Quit drifting off,
- 10:42Speaker 1: Shirley Strawberry. Oh hey, I had just drifted off. Good morning, Steve,
- 10:49Speaker 1: are you doing? Call it for real? I am paying attention.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Good morning, sir. Hello crew you huh oh, I'm the
- 11:02Speaker 1: only one listening. Yeah what No, my attentions, man, is
- 11:08Speaker 1: that of a three year old? What we're doing? See
- 11:11Speaker 1: right there? The show? But thank you for dedicating to
- 11:15Speaker 1: a Steve blowing it off? Okay, everybody kidding about that? Sorry, Yeah,
- 11:24Speaker 1: they're just saying huh all the time. What are we doing?
- 11:33Speaker 1: Where are we what are we doing? Focus? Focused? People focused.
- 11:40Speaker 1: I'm here. I'm excited about waking up every day. So
- 11:43Speaker 1: I'm here, man, yes, man, man, Yeah, I don't watch it.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Things I'm grateful for. I'm glad. I'm not a politician.
- 11:56Speaker 1: Hey man. You know, was really really strange though, and
- 11:59Speaker 1: I just want to I really I'm not surprised, but
- 12:05Speaker 1: I'm like really amazed at how the Republican Party is
- 12:12Speaker 1: so quiet about what Donald Trump has done. Really if
- 12:19Speaker 1: you listen to what happened, it's not right. But they
- 12:22Speaker 1: are extremely quiet about it, and it's really really alarming.
- 12:27Speaker 1: But it's politics. Yeah, we have got to vote elections.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Speaking of paying attention, you know, we really need to
- 12:42Speaker 1: pay attention and all of the elections, like you said, Carlo,
- 12:45Speaker 1: particularly the presidential election, but there are a lot of
- 12:49Speaker 1: elections next year that we have to pay attention to.
- 12:52Speaker 1: It's crucial. I kid you not, man, I mean really
- 12:56Speaker 1: vocal elections. Yes, we got to. And the judges, yeah,
- 13:03Speaker 1: just the senators. I just don't know that this country
- 13:08Speaker 1: can take four more years of this guy because he's
- 13:11Speaker 1: he's doing some real damage and people are trying to
- 13:15Speaker 1: ignore the damage to protect their position and their power
- 13:19Speaker 1: and their money. Yes, but the damage he's gonna leave
- 13:22Speaker 1: a lot of people at the wayside up at the
- 13:24Speaker 1: top level. Two. Yeah, yeah, all right, well listen, um, Yeah,
- 13:29Speaker 1: we're gonna move on right here. Coming up at thirty
- 13:32Speaker 1: two after the hour. Do you hit the snooze on
- 13:35Speaker 1: your alarm that snooze button on your alarm clock, or
- 13:38Speaker 1: do you just pop right up when the alarm goes up.
- 13:41Speaker 1: We're gonna talk about that right after this you're listening to.
- 13:47Speaker 1: All right, Um, here's the question we posed right before
- 13:50Speaker 1: we went to break Do you hit the snooze on
- 13:52Speaker 1: your alarm or do you get right up now? Steve,
- 13:55Speaker 1: a listener send us an email and wanted to know
- 13:57Speaker 1: our morning show routine. This email is from Kevin. He says, Hey,
- 14:01Speaker 1: morning crew, My wife wakes up very early in the morning,
- 14:05Speaker 1: and when her alarm rings, she turns it off and
- 14:07Speaker 1: gets right up to get ready. I couldn't be more opposite.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Every time my alarm goes off, I hit the snooze
- 14:15Speaker 1: button at least once. I also have crazy procrastinating thoughts
- 14:20Speaker 1: when my alarm goes off, like I'll just take a
- 14:23Speaker 1: shorter shower or I'll skip breakfast. Also, I can sleep
- 14:27Speaker 1: a little longer. So Steve, I gotta ask you, what
- 14:31Speaker 1: is your morning routine because you know we have to
- 14:33Speaker 1: be up very early in the morning. Do you hit
- 14:35Speaker 1: the snows on your alarm clock or do you just
- 14:37Speaker 1: pop right up? And let's answer that one first. Well,
- 14:42Speaker 1: first of all, I almost never ever set my law.
- 14:48Speaker 1: I almost never because I wake up every morning before
- 14:54Speaker 1: I'm supposed to. I very rarely ever use my lawn.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Don't time I use alarm, it's when I travel, Yeah,
- 15:03Speaker 1: and I get in late and I gotta get up
- 15:06Speaker 1: really early, like four thirty or four forty five something
- 15:10Speaker 1: like that. Then I use my alarm on my telephone.
- 15:14Speaker 1: When I'm at home doing television and radio, I never
- 15:18Speaker 1: ever set my law, so only use my alarm when
- 15:21Speaker 1: I have to travel. Yeah, I wait, I wake up automatically.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Huh My mom used to do that. Yeah, well at
- 15:31Speaker 1: like at what time? Like four? I mean I cannot
- 15:35Speaker 1: sleep past five thirty. That's that's not going to happen. Now,
- 15:40Speaker 1: do you get Are you just up? Or you up
- 15:42Speaker 1: and out of the bed. Well, when I do wake up,
- 15:47Speaker 1: I wake up and I just you know, lay there
- 15:49Speaker 1: for about probably about sixty seconds. And because it's kind
- 15:54Speaker 1: of weird, man, I'm always like excited to get up.
- 15:58Speaker 1: I think it has a lot to do with my age,
- 15:59Speaker 1: because I just think I'm at that age now, man,
- 16:01Speaker 1: where I don't want to miss nothing like a kid
- 16:06Speaker 1: who has to go to sleep. Yeah, because like I
- 16:09Speaker 1: mean really and really, to be honest with you, I
- 16:12Speaker 1: know that I do not have sixty two more years
- 16:15Speaker 1: left already. No, I don't. So since I know that
- 16:20Speaker 1: I live longer than I got left. I have a
- 16:23Speaker 1: tendency to get up and get it started. Yeah, that's
- 16:29Speaker 1: it could happen. I don't. I don't want to do that. Yes,
- 16:36Speaker 1: that's a lot of customs. One twenty four. I'm gonna
- 16:39Speaker 1: do one old four and get on out on four healthy,
- 16:46Speaker 1: still driving if I want to at one oh four.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I'm gonna still be able to drive if
- 16:52Speaker 1: I want to. I can walk around the block the
- 16:56Speaker 1: up heels and stuff. Yeah, I'm gonna be a functionable strength. No, no, man,
- 17:02Speaker 1: I'm gonna take care of myself. I've cut me way
- 17:05Speaker 1: way back, way back. It's not completely gone, but it
- 17:10Speaker 1: can be absent for long stretches at a time. So
- 17:15Speaker 1: if you let go of barbecue, is this what you're saying?
- 17:18Speaker 1: I haven't had any in a long time? Surely, Wow,
- 17:22Speaker 1: I haven't had barbecue since breaking news. I had some
- 17:28Speaker 1: barbecue this summer, okay, four July holiday somewhere like that.
- 17:35Speaker 1: But other than that, No, man, I've cut way back.
- 17:38Speaker 1: To be honest with you, that's goods with the keys
- 17:42Speaker 1: at one hundred and four, dude, don't you take we
- 17:45Speaker 1: should take it now when I get outside. Yeah, you
- 17:47Speaker 1: ain't gonna take the keys. I might need help finding
- 17:50Speaker 1: a car, but it's all good. Yeah, because I'm gonna
- 17:56Speaker 1: have so many, you know, I might if you give
- 18:00Speaker 1: which one I drove to day? You look forward to sing?
- 18:03Speaker 1: Your your grandkids and your great grandkids and all of that.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Do you look forward to that? Here's my deal. I
- 18:10Speaker 1: would really love to see Winton's grandchildren, wild That's my goal. Man.
- 18:18Speaker 1: If I could, you know, Winton to have a son,
- 18:21Speaker 1: he could have a son within ten years. That ain't
- 18:23Speaker 1: no big deal. I'll be I'll still be here. But
- 18:25Speaker 1: if I could see Winton's grandchildren, That's I've been talking
- 18:32Speaker 1: to God about that. Winton's grandchildren, that's what I want
- 18:36Speaker 1: to see. Wow, your children, wild man, and I want
- 18:40Speaker 1: to see I want I want son. I want Winton
- 18:43Speaker 1: to have a boy. Please God let me see that.
- 18:46Speaker 1: And if that boy can have a boy and I
- 18:48Speaker 1: live to see it, Yeah, I'm going in there. Well
- 18:52Speaker 1: what if he has a girl, Okay, then I'm gonna
- 18:55Speaker 1: be disappointed? Really yeah? Yeah? Really? Yeah? What is that about, Steve? No,
- 19:03Speaker 1: I mean that's about the truth. What Wow? Because you
- 19:06Speaker 1: want the name to carry on? Yeah, one of them
- 19:09Speaker 1: can't see them them girls in mind. I love them,
- 19:12Speaker 1: but Lord have mercy when they get married, the name
- 19:14Speaker 1: gone get hyphenated. No, I don't hyphenate nothing. No, man,
- 19:20Speaker 1: you gott asitated. You ain't got to go off like that.
- 19:26Speaker 1: I would say, old fashioned. I'll just say so traditional.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Well I don't, it's not. It's just if you have boys.
- 19:34Speaker 1: I don't care if they have girls. I'm beautiful with them.
- 19:38Speaker 1: I love my daughters and my granddaughters. They're so precious. Man.
- 19:45Speaker 1: But if he don't have no boys, I'm gonna be hurt. Yeah,
- 19:50Speaker 1: that's gonna bug me a little bit. O. Man, that
- 19:54Speaker 1: should being real? What what? What? Everybody trivel fault? Okay,
- 19:59Speaker 1: it's okay. Yeah. If you don't want to answer, don't ask.
- 20:04Speaker 1: I can ask you about the snoozs. But but I
- 20:07Speaker 1: did I know he talked about came out, just said
- 20:11Speaker 1: I'm gonna be disappointed if he has girls. I'm gonna
- 20:16Speaker 1: be disappointed. Oh wait, let me tell you the real truth.
- 20:23Speaker 1: When the twins was born, and the first one came
- 20:26Speaker 1: out and they said it was a little girl, so
- 20:28Speaker 1: that's cool. The second one came they said, oh, the

- 27:57Speaker 1: here's a deal. Y'all know. I can't go down there,
- 28:01Speaker 1: walk out there in front of Tommy. Y'all know that.
- 28:04Speaker 1: And why y'all keep letting him think that it'll be
- 28:07Speaker 1: nice if I show up. Why would y'all do that?
- 28:09Speaker 1: Because it would? Yeah? Do you see enough on a
- 28:16Speaker 1: show together? That's priceless if I go out there and
- 28:19Speaker 1: perform in front of Tommy. Yeah, y'all, y'all don't know
- 28:23Speaker 1: how SHOWBI has worked, do you? Mister park? Y'all don't

- 28:38Speaker 1: Tommy can't follow Steve Harvey. Okay, that's when you do it.
- 28:43Speaker 1: I don't give a damn how long I've been out something.
- 28:53Speaker 1: All right, all right, Steve coming up at the top
- 28:55Speaker 1: of the hour. We have some entertainment and national news
- 28:58Speaker 1: for you right after this. You're listening to this show,
- 29:05Speaker 1: all right, So in today's entertainment news, listen to this story.
- 29:09Speaker 1: The University of Kansas has issued an apology after Snoop
- 29:13Speaker 1: Dogg performed at a preseason college basketball celebration that featured
- 29:18Speaker 1: pole dancers and a money gun. What were they unset
- 29:22Speaker 1: about the pole dancers or the money gun? I don't know.
- 29:24Speaker 1: While the audience, yeah, while the audience enjoyed Snoop, university
- 29:29Speaker 1: officials were less than impressed. They said, we made it
- 29:32Speaker 1: clear to the entertainers managers that we expected a clean
- 29:36Speaker 1: version of the show. This is according to Kansas Athletic
- 29:40Speaker 1: director Jeff Longed. He says, I take full responsibility for
- 29:44Speaker 1: not thoroughly vetting all the details of the performance and
- 29:47Speaker 1: offer my personal apology to those who were offended, He
- 29:51Speaker 1: added in a statement, we strive to create a family
- 29:54Speaker 1: atmosphere at Kansas and fell short of that this evening.
- 29:58Speaker 1: I'll say, but the pole dancers were fully clothed. They
- 30:03Speaker 1: weren't like um. Pole dances do bring families together. I mean,
- 30:07Speaker 1: if I'm out there with my brother, if you, if
- 30:10Speaker 1: you when they was doing the rehearsal and they saw
- 30:15Speaker 1: the poles and where they was gonna put the poles
- 30:17Speaker 1: in the spotlights, because I saw it. The poles was
- 30:21Speaker 1: spot was spot lit. When the poles was out there
- 30:25Speaker 1: doing rehearsal for the spot lit part, what did they
- 30:29Speaker 1: think was gonna happen? What did he think? Did did
- 30:33Speaker 1: they think them was fiming poles? Did they think them
- 30:37Speaker 1: was telephone poles? M No, I don't know. But come on,
- 30:44Speaker 1: it's Snoop. You know who you gets? Why is Snooped
- 30:51Speaker 1: at Family Night? Yeah? No? Who was the genius in
- 30:56Speaker 1: the meeting? And off of that? But I'm just trying,
- 30:58Speaker 1: you know, it's just a lot of reasons why y'all
- 31:01Speaker 1: don't need to be talking to Snoop. Yeah, but you
- 31:05Speaker 1: know what, and Snoop is also one of those entertainers.
- 31:07Speaker 1: Don't you think Steve that whatever he does, it's it's Snoop.
- 31:11Speaker 1: We love Snoop so much. Okay, so he did that, Okay,
- 31:15Speaker 1: get over it. It's what he does and it would
- 31:18Speaker 1: have appreciated it. And we had some concerts Maze Patting
- 31:25Speaker 1: Lab Snoop come through. They seemed like they were equally
- 31:36Speaker 1: as upset though about the money gun. I didn't get
- 31:39Speaker 1: that part. I get, but yeah, he's shooting it out
- 31:42Speaker 1: of yeah, the money gun. So it seems like that
- 31:45Speaker 1: would have been students need money. Yeah, it seems like
- 31:48Speaker 1: that would have been fun. I don't get it. And
- 31:51Speaker 1: then he was saying words. He was saying the curse
- 31:56Speaker 1: words from his songs. He wasn't censoring himself. You know,
- 32:00Speaker 1: that's how he wrote it. This is Snoop deal double Jen.
- 32:05Speaker 1: He wrote it Snoop is performing at Family Night right there.
- 32:13Speaker 1: When they okayed that, skip monitoring it when you okayed it. Yeah, yeah, man,
- 32:26Speaker 1: he doesn't say anything yet. But maybe they thought since
- 32:29Speaker 1: he put the put the Gospel album out last year,
- 32:32Speaker 1: and you know he's on TV with Martha Stewart, maybe
- 32:35Speaker 1: they thought, you know, his life, Yeah, his live shows
- 32:39Speaker 1: calmed down a little bit. But this is Snoop the
- 32:42Speaker 1: dog Father. Come on, it was fake money too, dollar bills. Yeah,
- 32:50Speaker 1: great job, great job for family, night, Steve, all right,
- 32:59Speaker 1: for family and not a trip. All right, it's time
- 33:03Speaker 1: for our headlines. Ladies and gentlemen. Miss Anne Tripp, please
- 33:08Speaker 1: watch everybody. This is a trip for the news. Donald
- 33:10Speaker 1: Trump says he's pulling US forces out of the multinational
- 33:14Speaker 1: coalition that's fighting terrorism in Syria. But the plan move
- 33:17Speaker 1: is raising concerns of the President's abandoning Syrian Kurds who
- 33:21Speaker 1: had been fighting ISIS with the United States, leaving them
- 33:24Speaker 1: open to attack from Turkey. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham all
- 33:29Speaker 1: went on Fox and Friends and called the idea shortsighted
- 33:31Speaker 1: and irresponsible. It's impulsive decision by the president has undone
- 33:35Speaker 1: all the games we've made, throwing the region into further chaos.
- 33:39Speaker 1: Iran is lifting their job, and if I'm an ISIS fighter,
- 33:43Speaker 1: I've got a second least like the Senate leader, Mitch
- 33:46Speaker 1: McConnell is now the highest ranking Republican to also criticize
- 33:49Speaker 1: Trump's decision. Trump says that Turkey and the rest of
- 33:51Speaker 1: Europe should be responsible for watching overcaptured ISIS fighters, and
- 33:55Speaker 1: Trump's tweeting that he will quote obliterate Turkey's economy if
- 33:59Speaker 1: that country does anything he deems quote off limits. US
- 34:03Speaker 1: ANGI Secretary Rich Perry. Meanwhile, he says he absolutely did
- 34:06Speaker 1: ask President Trump a number of times to call Ukrainian
- 34:10Speaker 1: President Volimir Zelenski, but he says he wanted Trump to
- 34:13Speaker 1: talk about energy, not about the bidens Perry held a
- 34:16Speaker 1: news conference yesterday to defend himself from what some critics
- 34:20Speaker 1: say appeared to be the President throwing him under the
- 34:22Speaker 1: bus by telling lawmakers that Perry urged him to make
- 34:25Speaker 1: that controversial call in July twenty fifth, the now key
- 34:28Speaker 1: focus of the House Democrats impeachment and Korey. Perry says
- 34:31Speaker 1: he did tell the President that it wasn't the best
- 34:33Speaker 1: interest of the two nations to have discussions, but regarding
- 34:37Speaker 1: energy issues. His spokeswoman tell CNN Perry wasn't part of
- 34:40Speaker 1: that phone call between Trump and Zelenski, and that Joe
- 34:43Speaker 1: and Hunter Biden never came up in his conversations about Ukraine.
- 34:48Speaker 1: Three House committees leading the impeachment in Korea of President
- 34:51Speaker 1: Trump now issuing a new wave of subpoenas, and reports
- 34:54Speaker 1: are that Legislators are now asking for documents from both
- 34:57Speaker 1: the Pentagon and the White House Budget Office part of
- 35:00Speaker 1: the probe and to Trump's alleged decision to withhold military
- 35:03Speaker 1: aid to Ukraine again. This Minnesota Congress from an Ilhan
- 35:07Speaker 1: Omar is calling out officials in West Palm Beach, Florida
- 35:10Speaker 1: for putting a twenty one year old black man in
- 35:12Speaker 1: jail for ten days because he overslept and missed the
- 35:15Speaker 1: first day of jury duty. Ten days in jail for that,
- 35:19Speaker 1: DeAndre Somerville, who has no prior criminal record, cares for
- 35:22Speaker 1: his elderly grandfather who works for afternoon program for West
- 35:25Speaker 1: Palm Beach Parks and Recreation. Somerville was sentenced to jail,
- 35:29Speaker 1: one hundred and fifty hours of community service, and he
- 35:31Speaker 1: was fined over two hundred dollars. Representative Omar says that
- 35:34Speaker 1: the treatment given to young mister Somerville is indicative of
- 35:37Speaker 1: a US criminal justice system devised to criminalize people of color.
- 35:42Speaker 1: The grocery store chain Crogus as it is no longer
- 35:45Speaker 1: selling e cigarettes and today is National no braw Wearing Day. Yes,
- 35:52Speaker 1: now back to the Steve Arbiboarding show you're listening to
- 35:57Speaker 1: show Kim Kardashia and weren't we just talking about this yesterday?
- 36:01Speaker 1: Kim Kardashian has secured yet another early release of an inmate,
- 36:07Speaker 1: Momalu Stewart was convicted of murder at the age of sixteen.
- 36:11Speaker 1: Prosecutors tried him as an adult, and Stewart was sentenced
- 36:14Speaker 1: to spend the rest of his life in prison without
- 36:17Speaker 1: the chance for parole. Following twenty two years behind bars,
- 36:22Speaker 1: Stewart may walk away a freeman this week. The judge
- 36:26Speaker 1: could stick him with five years probation. Kim Kardashian filmed
- 36:29Speaker 1: her prison visit in July with Momolu. She has an
- 36:33Speaker 1: upcoming reality series on the Oxygen network called The Justice Project.
- 36:39Speaker 1: He thanked Kim on social media, saying, thanks to the
- 36:41Speaker 1: homie Kim for her support. In my case, freedom is
- 36:45Speaker 1: imminent and success is assured. Wow, Steve, she is really
- 36:50Speaker 1: doing some really good stuff. Yeah. I think she won't
- 36:55Speaker 1: be until like twenty twenty four, but she's studying diligently,
- 36:58Speaker 1: and wow, she's making a different twenty twenty four for
- 37:01Speaker 1: what she's graduating. I think for law school she'll have
- 37:04Speaker 1: From law school, she'll have her law degree. But yeah,
- 37:08Speaker 1: she's yeah, yeah, so she's doing all of this and
- 37:11Speaker 1: still studying and preparing to be a lawyer. Man, she's
- 37:15Speaker 1: on the right track. But yeah, for sure. Wow, that's
- 37:19Speaker 1: pretty yeah, yeah, pretty impressive what you're saying. Social media
- 37:24Speaker 1: would have something to say about that, because she helped
- 37:27Speaker 1: somebody to get out of y Yeah, they had something
- 37:30Speaker 1: to say. You know, her husband. We talked about her
- 37:32Speaker 1: husband yesterday and yeah, you know his issues in Salt
- 37:35Speaker 1: Lake City and talking about Well, that wasn't a great
- 37:39Speaker 1: thing to say. Yeah. No, you know, you can't make
- 37:43Speaker 1: a sweeping statement about slavery. The Republicans free just the
- 37:48Speaker 1: Republican Party was totally different back then. Totally. It's not
- 37:52Speaker 1: the same party. It's just not. And you can't give
- 37:56Speaker 1: Republicans credit for freeing slaves when you look what this
- 38:00Speaker 1: Republican president is doing to bring it back. Hell, what
- 38:06Speaker 1: do people think he means when he says make America
- 38:10Speaker 1: great again? I'm not saying he's bringing back slavery, But
- 38:14Speaker 1: at what part in American history do black people want
- 38:19Speaker 1: to go back to where it was great again? Doesn't
- 38:23Speaker 1: help me with that, Yeah, I can't. I cannot help
- 38:26Speaker 1: you with that because I don't recall. I don't know
- 38:29Speaker 1: if any time I want to go back to ye
- 38:35Speaker 1: said no, man wouldn't get it back then. Any Can
- 38:39Speaker 1: you think about Jim Crow and all of that stuff
- 38:42Speaker 1: back in the day. Come on, man, what a fountain
- 38:45Speaker 1: for coloreds only all of that? Yeah, listen. If you
- 38:48Speaker 1: want to comment on the story, go to Steve HARVFM
- 38:51Speaker 1: on Instagram or Facebook. Coming up at thirty four after
- 38:54Speaker 1: trending news, some members of the Youth Black Leadership Summit said, quote,
- 38:58Speaker 1: President Trump has done so much for the black community.
- 39:01Speaker 1: We're going to talk about that right after this. You're
- 39:05Speaker 1: listening to the Steven Show. Well, Steve Harvey, here is
- 39:10Speaker 1: a story that's trending on social media. President Trump spoke
- 39:14Speaker 1: at the Young Black Leadership Summit at the White House.
- 39:17Speaker 1: It was in the East Room, it was on this
- 39:19Speaker 1: past Friday. In attendance were some of the hundreds of
- 39:22Speaker 1: young black conservatives who came to Washington last week to
- 39:25Speaker 1: show liberal America that African Americans can be conservatives and
- 39:30Speaker 1: support Trump and that the conservative movement is not just
- 39:33Speaker 1: for old white men. Also, one of the Youth Black
- 39:37Speaker 1: Leaders said that mister Trump has done so much for
- 39:40Speaker 1: the black community, please take a listen. First of all,
- 39:44Speaker 1: I just want to say I love President Donald J. Trump.
- 39:50Speaker 1: The media is attacking him, but when they attack him,
- 39:53Speaker 1: they are attacking us because he is out here fighting
- 39:58Speaker 1: for us, and they are harassing you, miss the president,
- 40:04Speaker 1: so they are harassing me. And I want to say
- 40:07Speaker 1: one more thing here. A while back, President Trump said
- 40:10Speaker 1: when he was talking to the black community, if you
- 40:13Speaker 1: vote for me, whether you have to lose because the
- 40:15Speaker 1: do nothing Democrats have done nothing for the black community.
- 40:20Speaker 1: Twenty twenty is around the corner, and we have a
- 40:23Speaker 1: lot to lose now because President Donald J. Trump has
- 40:27Speaker 1: done so much for the black community. Thank you, President Trump.
- 40:34Speaker 1: But what young man, I'm really I just would I
- 40:40Speaker 1: would love to talk to you because you have no
- 40:45Speaker 1: problem saying these words, but your words that you have
- 40:49Speaker 1: nothing to back them up? Young man, he has done
- 40:55Speaker 1: so much for the black community. I love President Donald J. Trump.
- 41:02Speaker 1: Why why I was waiting to hear why why you
- 41:07Speaker 1: love him so much? And then you said he has
- 41:11Speaker 1: done because he's done. He has been fighting for us.
- 41:15Speaker 1: How name one fight Donald Trump has made for black people?
- 41:23Speaker 1: And then he said, and then let me say one
- 41:25Speaker 1: more thing, hola broh, you haven't said anything yet. You
- 41:29Speaker 1: haven't said anything yet. He has done so much. And
- 41:34Speaker 1: when they are attacking the president and they are harassing you,
- 41:38Speaker 1: they are harassing me, sir. Policeman. Politicians, slave owners have
- 41:46Speaker 1: never had a problem harassing black people. So, young man,
- 41:51Speaker 1: when you make these sweeping statements about how good he
- 41:56Speaker 1: is for black people, all black people want to know
- 42:00Speaker 1: what the hell you're talking about. I got Democrats ain't
- 42:05Speaker 1: done much for blacks. You might, you might compass that statement,
- 42:10Speaker 1: but I shall want you to show me what President
- 42:13Speaker 1: Trump has done for black people. You cannot be pointing
- 42:17Speaker 1: at that African American that he pointed to in the
- 42:19Speaker 1: crowd one time too. There goes my African American. You
- 42:23Speaker 1: can't tell me we have nothing to lose because he
- 42:27Speaker 1: knows that there's nothing ever going to happen on our behalf.
- 42:32Speaker 1: I was reading the article where the young man was
- 42:35Speaker 1: talking about how African American unemployment as at a low.
- 42:41Speaker 1: Young man, is that really because of something President Trump
- 42:46Speaker 1: has done? Or is that's something that has been brewing
- 42:49Speaker 1: over time? That was a thing's implemented and now he's
- 42:53Speaker 1: getting credit for it because I haven't seen him or
- 42:57Speaker 1: heard of him doing anything to employ black people. Next
- 43:03Speaker 1: part the crime bill, I mean the prison bill. That
- 43:06Speaker 1: was a great move, that Van Jones, that Cohole Committee.
- 43:11Speaker 1: Kim Kardashian, she played a huge role in that. Okay,
- 43:16Speaker 1: that's cool. That does not mean he should be president
- 43:20Speaker 1: because those two things right there that you're pointing to. Man,
- 43:25Speaker 1: if you look at all the rest of the stuff,
- 43:27Speaker 1: you gotta be kidding me and Steve, only like four
- 43:32Speaker 1: percent of African Americans think that mister Trump's actions have
- 43:36Speaker 1: been good for African Americans. Only eight percent. And they
- 43:39Speaker 1: was all at the White House the other day. Yeah, yeah,
- 43:41Speaker 1: identify with the Republican Party. And this is according to
- 43:44Speaker 1: an ape pole. So and I'd like for you to
- 43:47Speaker 1: check and see if that percent sign is real. Off,
- 43:50Speaker 1: it's just faux black people. Okay, coming up next now
- 43:56Speaker 1: you tell me is out. Junior is here with today's
- 43:59Speaker 1: prank phone call. Right after this you're listening to show
- 44:04Speaker 1: coming up at the top of the hour, right about

- 53:34Speaker 1: this one right here, right now. Let's go all right
- 53:37Speaker 1: here it is. It's time for the Strawberry Letter with
- 53:39Speaker 1: my good friend Shirley straw Thank you, my good friend. Junior.
- 53:44Speaker 1: Subject I'm raising my children the old school way. Dear
- 53:48Speaker 1: Stephen Shirley, I am a married father of two girls,
- 53:51Speaker 1: and I have a problem at home. Last week, I
- 53:54Speaker 1: popped my sixteen year old daughter in the mouth after
- 53:57Speaker 1: she raised her voice and her little sister and then
- 54:01Speaker 1: raised her voice at me when I told her to stop.
- 54:04Speaker 1: When I hit her, she lunged at me and punched
- 54:07Speaker 1: me in the face. I tried to hold her. I
- 54:12Speaker 1: try to hump, starting to breathe heavy right now. I
- 54:15Speaker 1: tried to hold her to keep her from hitting me again,
- 54:18Speaker 1: and we ended up scuffling in the floor like two
- 54:22Speaker 1: dudes in a street fight. The whole time she was
- 54:25Speaker 1: still yelling and I was oh. I was trying to
- 54:28Speaker 1: control my anger so I wouldn't hurt this child. Her
- 54:30Speaker 1: bad behavior has been building up for a while, and
- 54:33Speaker 1: there were several incidences, incidents where I had to punish
- 54:38Speaker 1: her for her bad attitude or from making smart remarks
- 54:40Speaker 1: when we asked her to do things. I have warned
- 54:43Speaker 1: her in the past that no child of mine will
- 54:45Speaker 1: ever talk to me crazy or disrespect me, and I
- 54:47Speaker 1: threatened to pop her in the mouth before she kept
- 54:50Speaker 1: on trying me. I grew up under strict rules and
- 54:53Speaker 1: I was taught to respect my elders. But my wife
- 54:55Speaker 1: grew up differently, so she doesn't understand my form of discipline.
- 55:00Speaker 1: I am not an abusive father, and I do not
- 55:02Speaker 1: hit my child hard. I did not hit her hard,
- 55:05Speaker 1: It was just enough to get her attention. I agree
- 55:08Speaker 1: with my wife that I could have handled it differently,
- 55:11Speaker 1: but I lost it when my daughter yelled at me. Now,
- 55:15Speaker 1: whenever I try to talk to my daughter, my wife
- 55:18Speaker 1: jumps in and escalates the situation and sides with my daughter.
- 55:22Speaker 1: I'm praying for patience and guidance to move past this,
- 55:25Speaker 1: but I cannot promise that I won't react the same
- 55:28Speaker 1: way if my child ever puts her hands on me again.
- 55:31Speaker 1: I understand why my wife is upset, But am I wrong?
- 55:34Speaker 1: I would never intentionally hurt my own child. Please advise,
- 55:39Speaker 1: all right, listen, dad. As a parent myself, I understand,
- 55:44Speaker 1: I deeply understand where you're coming from. I was raised
- 55:47Speaker 1: this way as well, you know, the old school way.
- 55:49Speaker 1: Spare the rod, spoil the child, all of that. And no,
- 55:52Speaker 1: I won't necessarily say you're wrong for wanting to discipline
- 55:56Speaker 1: your child and teach her some manners and all of that.
- 56:00Speaker 1: But your heart is in the right place. But I
- 56:04Speaker 1: just think, you know, as her dad, popping her in
- 56:07Speaker 1: the mouth is a bit extreme, okay, and her behavior,
- 56:12Speaker 1: her behavior is inexcusable. I will say that there's no
- 56:16Speaker 1: way that I could not have survived in my house
- 56:19Speaker 1: had I done this yelled at my mom or you know,
- 56:23Speaker 1: or my parent, and then on the floor tussling with
- 56:26Speaker 1: my parents. No, no, no, no, uh you know. I
- 56:31Speaker 1: will say this. This is a problem I think between
- 56:33Speaker 1: you and your wife and your parenting styles. Okay, this
- 56:36Speaker 1: has been building up, like you say, and going on
- 56:39Speaker 1: for too long. You and your wife are on two
- 56:41Speaker 1: different pages, and you don't present a united front. Your
- 56:44Speaker 1: daughter sees that she knows it. She plays you, guys
- 56:47Speaker 1: against each other, and then your wife steps in and
- 56:50Speaker 1: sides with your daughter and escalates the situation. Your family
- 56:54Speaker 1: dynamic is way off. You and your wife need to
- 56:58Speaker 1: need to get to some sort of agreement on how
- 57:01Speaker 1: you are going to discipline these children. You cannot have
- 57:05Speaker 1: your daughter in your face and tussling on the floor
- 57:08Speaker 1: with She's got to understand that she can't do that.
- 57:11Speaker 1: It's a respect situation going on here, and your wife
- 57:15Speaker 1: can't allow this to happen either. She's got to step
- 57:18Speaker 1: in and tell your daughter she's wrong. And until that
- 57:20Speaker 1: happens between the two of you, your daughter is just
- 57:24Speaker 1: going to keep doing it. But please don't don't hit
- 57:27Speaker 1: your daughter. Okay, sometimes you know you said, you kind
- 57:30Speaker 1: of just snapped, you lost it. You know, you don't
- 57:33Speaker 1: know sometimes your own strength, and you could really hurt
- 57:36Speaker 1: your daughter. So back away from that, you and your daughter,
- 57:39Speaker 1: You and your wife talk about this situation about next time,
- 57:43Speaker 1: how you handle your daughter, Steve and discipline her. Steve.
- 57:47Speaker 1: All right, first of all, just let me say this, bro,
- 57:49Speaker 1: before we even get too far in this letter. You're wrong, bro.
- 57:54Speaker 1: I just got to tell you you wrong. I got
- 57:57Speaker 1: four daughters. I'm just telling you man, you're handling this wrong. Bro,
- 58:02Speaker 1: You just wrong. You said I'm raising my child the
- 58:05Speaker 1: old school way. Okay, well, let me hip you to
- 58:07Speaker 1: a couple of things. I'm a married father two girls.
- 58:11Speaker 1: I have a problem at home. I popped my sixteen
- 58:14Speaker 1: year old daughter in the mouth after she raised her
- 58:16Speaker 1: voice at her little sister and then raised her voice
- 58:19Speaker 1: at me when I told her to stop. You hit
- 58:22Speaker 1: your daughter in the mouth, dog, How does that sound?
- 58:26Speaker 1: I raised my kids the old school way. You hit
- 58:30Speaker 1: your daughter in the mouth, She's sixteen. What message are
- 58:35Speaker 1: you sending to her from a man that if you
- 58:39Speaker 1: run your mouth to a man, he is sorry for him.
- 58:41Speaker 1: Pop you in your mind. I don't care if you
- 58:43Speaker 1: are her father. You can't hit your daughter in the mouth. Man,
- 58:47Speaker 1: not raise my kids old school for real. But I
- 58:50Speaker 1: just gotta tell you, man, I've never hit one of
- 58:52Speaker 1: my daughters. I've never spent Brandy, Carly, Morgan, Lorie, none
- 58:58Speaker 1: of them. Won't it to I wanted to knock him out,
- 59:02Speaker 1: but I didn't because I can't, because I can't send
- 59:07Speaker 1: that message to them that a man who loves you
- 59:11Speaker 1: should fit should be able to hit you. I love them,
- 59:14Speaker 1: I can't hit them, bro, that's the basic rule you've broke. Now.
- 59:20Speaker 1: When I hit her, she lunged at me and punched
- 59:23Speaker 1: me in my face. I tried to hold and keep
- 59:25Speaker 1: he up from hitting me again. We ended up scuffling
- 59:28Speaker 1: in the flow like two dudes in the street fight.
- 59:31Speaker 1: What yo, bro? What dog? You're scuffling in the floor
- 59:38Speaker 1: with your daughter like two dudes in a street fight.
- 59:42Speaker 1: You raise your daughters, your daughters the old Schoolwait? What bro?
- 59:49Speaker 1: I'm sorry man, I'll be back. But you you hey man,
- 59:53Speaker 1: you wrong dog man. Hang on, Steve, we're gonna have
- 59:58Speaker 1: part two of your response coming up at twenty three
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: after the hour of the subject of today's Strawberry Letter,
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: I'm raising my children the old school way. We'll be
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: back right after this. You're listening, all right, Come on, Steve,
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: Let's recap today's Strawberry Letters subject I'm raising my children
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: the old school way. Yeah, we're back, so listen to me.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: I'm raising my children old school way. This man got
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: two girls, got into an altercation last week and popped
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: his sixteen year old daughter in the mouth after she
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: raised a voice to a little sist and then raised
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: a voice and me, I told her to stop. Then
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: I hit her. She launched at me and punched me
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: in the face. I tried to hold it keep it
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: from hitting me again, and we ended up scuffing in
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: the flow like two dudes in the street fight. Bro,
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: I told you before, you're wrong for this on so
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: many levels. First of all, you should not be hitting
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: your daughter in the mouth, period. Like Shirley said, I
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: was raised old school. When I raised my kid, spared
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: the rod, spawled the child. Cool. But I've never hitting
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: my daughters because I never wanted my daughters to equate
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: a man's love with physical abuse. You and your daughters
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: in the man you're supposed to love her. So now
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: she thinks when a man get mad at her, it's
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: okay for him. You know how many times a woman
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: has hit me and I've done nothing, So came, no
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: woman hit you and you do nothing? Come on, bro,
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: I mean, since we're talking old school, if you really
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: want to go old school, no man should ever hit
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: a woman or girl. That's old school. You should never
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: fight in front of your kids with your wife. I
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: can't let my sons abusing their mother. There's a lot
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: of old school stuff. You're breaking everything dog with just
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: hitting this little girl right here. The whole time she
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: was still yelling. I was trying to control my anger
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: so I wouldn't hurt this child. What what you've been
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: to do to anth dog? You don't punch it and
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: popped in the mouth and you had to flow wrestling
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: like would like to do? What's next? D bro bro
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: When you typed the letter? Did you read it? Her
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: bad behavior has been building up for a while, and
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: that was several incidents where I had to punish her
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: for her bad attitude or for making smart remarks when
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: we asked her to do things. She got a bad attitude.
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: She punched you. Why's she get the punching from? But
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: I don't you got any any idea where she might
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: have got the punching from because her daddy hit her
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: in the mouth. I have wandered in the past, and
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: no child of mine will never talk to me crazy
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: or disrespect when it's a way to get that a
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: better result than the way you did. Man. So I
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: popped in the mouth. I threatened to pop in the
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: mouth before, but this time you did it. She kept
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: on trying me. I grew up on the street rules
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: and I was taught to respect my elders. Well, you
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: got to teach your daughter to do that, to respect
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: they her elders. But popping her in the mouth. Now,
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: if your wife popping in the mouth, that's a whole
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: other thing. But you, as a man, popping your girl
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: in the mouth. Bro Come on, man, I'm not an
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: abusive father and I did not hit my child hard.
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: You are a man, dog, How hard do you have
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: to hit the girl for it to have an effect?
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: Come on, man, you're in a different weight class. You're
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: and your daughter. Don't even wait, the same fighters are
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: in different weight classes. I didn't hit the hard. It
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: was just enough to get her attention. Oh you got
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: attention her how she came for you. I agree with
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: my wife that I could have handled it differently. So
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: why are we writing a letter? Dog? If you agree
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: with your wife that you could have handled it differently,
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: why are you writing the letter? So? But I lost
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: it when my daughter yelled at me. Now, whenever I
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: try to talk to my daughter, Hey, man, let me
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: tell you something about your daughter. A lot of men
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: then yelled at you. You ain't hit him in name mouth?
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: Oh god, doctor slip see yelling at you getting hit
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: in the mouth is not the measuring stick. You know,
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: many dudes and yelled at me, and I'm glad that's
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: all they did when she yelled at me. Bro, I'm
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: just telling you, I'm sorry. Man, try to talk to
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: my daughter. My wife jumps in and escalates. She sighed
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: with my daughter. I'm praying for patience and guidance to
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: move past this. What after all this, you're gonna drag
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: the Lord in it. But I cannot promise that I
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: won't react the same way if my child ever puts
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: her hands on me again. Did you not put your
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: hands on her first? See? Bro, I'm just sorry, man.
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: I can't let you now. All is praying for patience
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: and guidance from God. Then you say, I'll tell you what.
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: I can't promise you that I ain't gonna do this again. What.
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: I understand why my wife is upset. But am I wrong?
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: Dead wrong? I would never intentionally hurt my own child,
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: but you can. People have killed their kids before. I
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: remember a few years ago, this little boy was getting
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: on his daddy nerve. He sucker punched him in the chest.
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: The boy died. I don't hit that hard. You're a
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: different way class homie. Yeah, you're wrong. And to every
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: man out there that is beating their daughters, you're wrong.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: You're wrong. You gotta find another way to talk to
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: your daughter, man, because you cannot be the person that
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: they say loves them as a male figure and teach
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: them that a man that loves you should have also
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: the right to hit you. You can we backwards hire.
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: I'm sorry, you wrong, partner. I ain't signed with you
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: no way, shape, form of fashion. Your wife is right,
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: should have handled a different way. I'm in a flow
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: with my daughter wrestling like two dudes in the street. Man.
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: Please all right, you can post your comments on Today's
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: Strawberry Letter at Steve Harvey FM. That's on Instagram and Facebook,

- 1:06:32Speaker 1: What we'll talk about that right after this you're listening
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: to Harvey Morning Show. All right, faith and his belief
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: in God are at the forefront of Demario Davis's life.
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: The NFL get this guy's has fined him for putting
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: it on his forehead two. During a September twenty second
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: game against the Seattle Seahawks, the New Orleans Saints linebacker
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: again his name is Demario Davis, wore a head and
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: matching the team's colors, bearing the words man of God.
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: He said he was fined seven thousand, seventeen dollars for
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: a first offense uniform violation, even though the headband was
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: invisible beneath his helmet. NFL rules are strict when it
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: comes to game day apparel, and personal messages are prohibited.
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: He says, my faith is always going to be the
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: most important aspect of my leadership. When he was with
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: the New York Jets, he says, I was a leader
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: off the field on this team before I was a
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: leader on the field. I wanted my character to speak
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: for me before I even stepped in the stepped a
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: foot on the field. I wanted guys to know that
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: I put God first, I put my family second, and
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: I put football third. So there you go. This was
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: all in an Associated Press interview back in twenty fourteen.
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: So that just lets you know where his heart and
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: his head is. A man, I don't know what man
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: for that thought, Wow, so much else that we could
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: be finding for. I mean, seriously, man, there's a lot
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: of stuff dudes, dude, you could find them for. Ye
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: not that. Yeah, the NFL rules are strict, though, and
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: I guess if they let him go, I don't I
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: don't know, don't even well, I guess if you're here
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: being got Nike on it, then yes? Cool? Yeah, yeah,
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: because paying God forbid, you have men of God on there. Yea.
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: He wants to promote that. Yeah, no, we already got
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: a imag your league already look crazy and good point
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: Carla on the team called the Saints, called the Saints. Wow,
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: you can't talk about God? You're mad about that? What
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: is this world coming to believe? I mean it's crazy, man.
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: But your president could say he can grab women by
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: the pea and he can still be the president. Yeah,
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: not get fine, not anything. The president ain't got fined
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: for nothing. He then said that, I mean he'd just
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: making stuff up, man. Yeah, and he doub is a
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: little nervous about this impeachment inquiry to be a phone call.
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: He're little nervous now, Yeah, so we'll see Ji all right?
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: Coming up at the top of the hour. You can
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: sue the person that your ex husband or your ex
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: wife left you. Four what we're gonna talk about that.
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steven Show, all right, So you
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: can sue the person that your ex husband or ex
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: wife left you. Four? What? What? What happened? All right?
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: This is relationship Tuesday. This is our topic. Okay. A
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: jilted North Carolina husband reportedly has won a seven hundred
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: and fifty thousand dollars that three quarters of a million
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: dollars lawsuit that he filed against a former friend for
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: stealing his wife. His name is Kevin Howard. He won
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: the judgment under an unusual North Carolina law that lets
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: people file a suit for alienation of affection against the
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: person who seduced their spouse. What I guess she's going
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: back for that money, right? Mister Howard said it was
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: painful betrayal. He came to my house and ate dinner
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: with us. This is what he told a local TV station.
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: We shared stories, we talked about our personal lives. Mister
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: Howard went on to say that he believes in sanctity
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: of marriage and his divorce was almost unbearable. Like someone
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: calling you and telling you that a family member had
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: tragically died. So, m wow, Steve, should all mistresses and
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: jigglos or whatever they're calling themselves be liable for ruining
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: a marriage? What do you think about this? Well, I
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: don't know if ruin it if like if I had
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: an X that I didn't like or something she left me,
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: you know, but sending the dude some flowers or so,
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: that's the thing. He loved her, He loved you know,
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: I mean, I can understand that. But yeah, you know
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: what I mean. Yeah, they're suing for everything else. They
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: sue for a lot less, That's what I'm saying. Yeah,
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: but he was so why not seven hundred and fifty
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: thousand dollars? Is it worth that? Man? What was she doing? Yeah,
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: it's crazy that you can do that, though, that you
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: can sue you know, someone who broke up your marriage.
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: But someone he's saying, someone who Yeah, someone who came
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: into his home ate dinner, shared stories. He was probably
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: telling him too much. Uh huh. He shouldn't have told
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: him all the stuff he told him. Maybe that had
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: something to do. Yeah, wow, yeah, the trail right there. Yeah,
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: Well yeah, I'm not I'm I'm Okay, with him suing
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: for that, you know, but hell, they suing for everything else.
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: Let's go what they all saw? You saw? Oh man?
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: What to bring that up? Junior? I just saw if left.
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: But you know what, man, the majority of lawsuits that
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: I'm involved in is some person who is trying to
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: extort money or get money by making a false claim
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: and thinking I'm gonna settle just because I don't want
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: to go through the case. I never do. I never settle.
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: I do not do that. Wow. Okay, so you go, sol.
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: Did you know if you're wrongly accusing me? I'm sorry, partner,
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: I'm sorry, partner. Get your money out too. Wow? Did
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: you know this that? Among all the other things are
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: Kelly is facing, he's also facing a charge similar to
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: the man we're talking about in this story. He's facing
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: serious criminal charges. Um wow. But one Mississippi sheriff is
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: demanding his case against the singer move forward. According to
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: court documents obtained by The Blast, the sheriff, Kenny Bryant,
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: is asking a judge to grant him a default judgment
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: against R. Kelly. He's suing R Kelly, accusing him of
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: breaking up his marriage by carrying out an affair with
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: his wife. He filed his lawsuit in Mississippi, which allows
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: partners to file cases over cheating, just like this case
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: we're talking about Carolina. Yeah, okay, this case has been
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: atte He don't have no money songwrights y. Wow. He
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: says he's tired of waiting around for R. Kelly or
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: his companies to respond. He believes the judge should award
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: him damages and close this case. Wow. He got way
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: bigger problems than you, right there. Part. That's why you
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: ain't getting a call from his lawyers. All his comet here.
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: We gotta fight with the kids. Coming up next. You're
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: in here talking about your wife. More music, more fun,
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: more ignorance. On the Steve Harvey Morning Show. We'll be
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: back at twenty minutes after the hour. Right after this,
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: you're listening to the Steven Show. All right, guys, Today's
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: Taco Tuesday. And according to a poll from Taco del Mar,
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: soft shell taco lovers and hard shell taco lovers are
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: quite different people when it comes to personality traits. Hard
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: shellers describe themselves as adventurous, curious, happy, hard working, high maintenance,
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: and organized. On the other hand, soft shell eaters say
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: they were calm, clean, creative, friendly and loyal. Me too, soft.
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: I don't like that show, couldn't top of your mom day.
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: That means I don't like crunch with my meat. That
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: means I love you. Don't like chips with your sandwich,
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: chips with your sandwiches or anything shows. I've never been
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: a fan of nachos, which with all the stuff in
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: a pal after two if three people is over there
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: and started looking like trash. Real, it started look like
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: what it just started looking like trays. Get your own
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: play You don't share, Steve, No, I do not do that. No,
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: if another dude hands touch the bowl, we need two bowls. Yeah,
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: that's like, that's like double dipping or something. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: but I love hard shell tacos and nachos. I like crunch, Yeah,
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: I like I like the tacos. I like soft shell,
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: I really really do. Yeah, but I love that shell too,
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: But I like yeah. All right, coming up, we'll have
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: more of Steve Harvey Morning Showing some trending news at
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: thirty three after the hour. Right after this, you're listening
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: to Harvey Morning Show. All right, So in today's entertainment news,
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: listen to this story. The University of Kansas has issued
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: an apology after Snoop Dogg performed at a preseason college
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: basketball celebration that featured pole dancers and a money gun.
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: What were they unset about the pole dancers or the
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: money gun? I don't know whence Yeah. While the audience
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: enjoyed Snoop, university officials were less than impressed. They said,
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: we made it clear to the entertainers managers that we
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: expected a clean version of the show. This is according
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: to Kansas Athletic Director Jeff Long. He says, I take
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: full responsibility for not thoroughly vetting all the details of
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: the performance and offer my personal apology to those who
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: were offended. He added in a statement, we strive to
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: create a family atmosphere at Kansas and fell short of
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: that this evening. I'll say, but the pole dancers were
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: fully clothed. They weren't like old dances. Dude brings families together.
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: I mean, if I'm out there with my brother, if you,
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: if you When they was doing the rehearsal, uh and
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: they saw the poles and where they was gonna put
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: the poles in the spotlights? Because I saw it. The
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: poles was spot was spot lit. When the Poles was
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: out there doing rehearsal for the spot lit park, what
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: did they think was gonna happen? What did he think
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: did did they think them was fiming poles? Did they
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: think them was telephone Poles? But come on, it's Snoopop.
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: You know who you get? Why is Snoop at Family Night? Yeah?
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: Who was the genius in the meeting? That off of that?
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: But I'm just trying, you know, it's just a lot
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: of reasons why y'all don't need to be talking to Snoop. Yeah,
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: but you know what, and Snoop is also one of
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: those enterty haters. Don't you think Steve that whatever he does,
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: it's it's Snoop. We love Snoop so much. Okay, so
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: he did that, Okay, get over it. It's what he
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: does and it would have appreciated it. And we had
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: some concerts, Maze Pad Lab Snoop come through. They seemed
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: like they were equally as upset. Though about the money gun.
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: I didn't get that part I get, but yeah, he's
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: shooting it out of Yeah, the money gun. So it
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: seems like that would have been students name money. Yes,
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: it seems like that would have been fun. I don't
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: get it. And then he was saying words. He was
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: saying the curse words from his songs. He wasn't censoring himself,
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: you know. Yeah, that's how he wrote it. This is snoop.
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: Oh it was fake money too, dollar bills. All right,
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: there you have it coming up her last break of
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: the day and some inspirational closing remarks from the one
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: and only Steve Harvey at forty nine after the hour
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: right after this. You're listening, all right, here we are,
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: last break of the day. It's been a good day
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: as usual. Yeah, it's been fun. Yeah, great, You're all right, Steve?
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: Did you because we started the show off talking about attention, Well,
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: you know, it's it's been one of those days for me.
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: I will admit that so far, but it's gonna get better.
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: I always keep my head up, yeah, you know, which
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: could lead into these closing remarks because I might as
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: well talk about something that I was dealing with. You know,
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: I was in a Jamaica over the weekend, and every
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: morning I have a little meditation that I do with
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: daily inspiration that I read my Bible and a journal
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: that I take notes in and I started it doing
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: this taking these notes. The first or July seventh was
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: my first day doing it, and I have notes for
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: practically every single day. I've only missed like three days
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: from taking notes, just three. And so it's something I've
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: learned to do, and it starts my day off really,
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: really well because it gives me a weaponry till God
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: against the evil principalities of the world. You know, there's
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: so much stimulation out here with social media and technology
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: and cyberspace and phone calls and messages and texts that
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: you know, even if you're having a great day, there's
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: so much stuff out there that can throw you off
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: if you're not, if you haven't stabilized yourself spiritually. And Sunday,
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: when I woke up, I was in Jamaica. I was
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: just about to open up my journal, my daily inspiration.
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: But I had left the TV on the night four
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: in the living room, and so I went into the
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: living room and I was about to sit out with
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: my books, and I said, man, let me, let me
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: cut this TV off. And I went over there and
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: I hit it. It didn't go off for some reason,
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: and I said, man, what's the deal? And I tried
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: to hit it and didn't go off, and I just
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: hit the channel and I hit the channel one time.
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: Now I'm in Jamaica. Now I hit the channel one
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: time and up pops Joel Oldstein. And so I was
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: instead of me opening up my journal in my daily inspiration,
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: I sat down and cut cut the volume up. I went, Okay,
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: this must be for me. Maybe he wants me to
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: get this, And oh my god, oh my goodness, was
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: he correct. Now I can't tell you exactly what he said,
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: so I'm a paraphrase it a bit. He was talking
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: about people who have given up on their dreams. Now
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: that didn't apply to me, but he said, this is
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: for people who've given up on your dreams. This is
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: for people who've been waiting on something for God for
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: a while and it hasn't gotten there yet, and you're
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: starting to feel like maybe it ain't for you all
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: you're thinking about giving up on it. I wasn't quite
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: in that part of it, but I've been a little
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: discouraged about the fact that something I had been wanting
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: for a while hadn't happened. A lot of people fall
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: into that bracket, but a lot of people have fallen into.
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: They waited so long, they just decided it wasn't for them,
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: and they stopped all. They gave up on their dreams
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: and their visions. And he was talking about he said,
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: what you don't realize is that when you ask God
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: for something, that God is working on it behind the scenes.
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: He's doing some stuff in orchestrating some stuff, and putting
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: some stuff into play for you that you may very
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: well not even be aware of. But if you give
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: up hope, if you stop looking for it, if you
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: lose the faith, you then stop the process. Because God
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: don't give you what you want all the time. He
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: gives you what you believe all the time. See, you
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: don't always get what you want because what you want
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: may not be best for you or something like that.
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: But if you believe God to give you something and
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: He has it for you, He's going to give it
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: to you. But some people just give up hoping for
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: it looking for it. He said. If you've gotten at
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: the point in your life where you've given up on
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: your dreams or you think it ain't coming, and you're
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: starting to faith, he said, I want you to do something.
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: He said, I want you to look again and that
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: caught my attention. He said, I want you to look again.
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: He said, if you look again and you don't see
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: the blessing coming, or you don't see the blessing right there,
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: he said, I want you to look again, he said
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: in it. If you still don't see it, he said,
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: listen to me real close. I want you to look again.
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: And that was the thing that I needed to hear yesterday,
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: because sometimes, y'all, when you ask God for something that
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: it don't come in the time frame that you wanted
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: to come in, you got to stay patient, you got
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: to stay watchful, and you got to do like Joel
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: Olstein said, you got to look again. And if you
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: look over there and you still don't see it, stay patient,
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: but look again. And man on, man on, man, I
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: can't tell you how I needed that yesterday. I can't
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: tell you how I need it today. I can't tell
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: you how often I need that because so many times, man,
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: so many things go counter to the way you wanted
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: to go or what you thought it was gonna be,
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: that you end up and you start feeling just a
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: little bit discouraged. Sometimes you just flat out I can't
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: take it no more, and I quit but I very
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: rarely get that way, but I do get I'm human,
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: you know, so I get moments when I'm man, this
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: is exhausting because what I'm attempting to do is exhausting.
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: What you're attempting to do or become, or the point
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: you're trying to get to, it's exhausting. But if you're
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: exhausted and you don't feel like it's happening fast enough,
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: do like Joel Oldstein said, y'all, look again, just look again.
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: He's probably doing something on your behalf that you're not
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: aware of. Those are my closing remarks that really helped me.
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: So you know what I'm doing right now, I'm looking
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: at again. I'm looking again. Y'all. Have a great weekend.
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: We know it's I don't care what it is. Y'all
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: have a great weekend for all. Steve Harvey contests No
