Carson Wentz was diagnosed with a stress fracture on the spine. I'll use a paperclip to help explain how stress fractures can occur in the back and why they can be tricky for doctors to pick up before it's too late in some cases. Repeated movements of the spine in abnormal ways can cause increased stress on the bones in the spine, and sometimes over time this can lead to stress fractures.
