- 2:06Speaker 1: the demand of a company where she is the founder
- 2:09Speaker 1: and CEO of The lip Bar, a vegan beauty brand
- 2:12Speaker 1: that exists to disrupt an outdated beauty care industry. Please
- 2:16Speaker 1: welcome to money Making Conversation. The CEO of the Lip Bar,
- 2:20Speaker 1: Melissa Butler. Thank you so much for having me. That
- 2:24Speaker 1: was such a warm intro. We're warm, but but you're
- 2:28Speaker 1: in Detroit, right, I'm in Detroit. How the weather up
- 2:31Speaker 1: there in Detroit? It's finally gotten a nicer crazy may
- 2:38Speaker 1: may May it was snow and I got to get
- 2:43Speaker 1: out of here. That's what I'm asking you. You know
- 2:45Speaker 1: I lived in the wrong place. Oh well, first of all,
- 2:49Speaker 1: used in New York doing working at Wall Street? Correct? Okay,
- 2:54Speaker 1: what were you doing when I graduated? Yeah, I went
- 2:58Speaker 1: to college. I went to college as a fam you
- 3:01Speaker 1: an Ka, Florida and m universally when I was there,
- 3:06Speaker 1: exactly exactly, And so I studied business finance. And I
- 3:15Speaker 1: decided that in college that if you're going to do finance,
- 3:18Speaker 1: that you know, there's no better place to do it
- 3:20Speaker 1: than than in New York. So I moved to New York.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Was working on Wall Street for about four years excuse me,
- 3:28Speaker 1: and the year too, I quit my job. I quit
- 3:32Speaker 1: my job to focus on the lip Bar um, this
- 3:35Speaker 1: cosmetic company that I just felt super inspired and empowered
- 3:40Speaker 1: to start because I wanted to stop complaining about the
- 3:43Speaker 1: industry and instead be the changes I wanted to we
- 3:47Speaker 1: just stop complaining about an industry. What do you mean
- 3:50Speaker 1: what were the complaints about the industry? So yeah, I
- 3:54Speaker 1: started the lip bar because I was completely frustrated with
- 3:57Speaker 1: the bed industry. I hated it's lack of that city,
- 4:00Speaker 1: its successive amounts of chemicals. Um, just this idea that
- 4:05Speaker 1: that beauty looks like one particular thing and like in
- 4:09Speaker 1: one way. So I found, you know, of a country
- 4:13Speaker 1: full of women black and white that was trying to
- 4:16Speaker 1: fit into this very small beauty box of like what's
- 4:19Speaker 1: considered socially and societally accepted as beautiful. And I was like, no, like,
- 4:26Speaker 1: why are we all trying to conform to be something
- 4:29Speaker 1: that we're not in terms of like that that beauty image.
- 4:33Speaker 1: And it's like I felt like we had been taught
- 4:35Speaker 1: that you can only be one thing in order to
- 4:37Speaker 1: be beautiful. And it's always been been my my understanding
- 4:43Speaker 1: that everyone has beauty, you know, and everyone is beautiful.
- 4:47Speaker 1: But the conditioning of the media and the beauty companies,
- 4:51Speaker 1: you know, it consistently told this story in this linear light,
- 4:54Speaker 1: and so that was my frustration. I hated that people
- 4:57Speaker 1: were made to feel like they were not enough, and
- 5:00Speaker 1: so I decided to create the lip far to remind
- 5:03Speaker 1: women that they don't have to transform and be beautiful.
- 5:06Speaker 1: They're already beautiful. Okay, now you degree was it? What? Now?
- 5:11Speaker 1: Business finance? Okay, business finance. And so I'm just reading
- 5:14Speaker 1: your bio. So you will created the formula or you
- 5:19Speaker 1: mixed it, or you made the brand or the lip
- 5:22Speaker 1: bar in your Brooklyn kitchen. To my understand that I've
- 5:25Speaker 1: read that wrong. Yah, know, you read it right. So
- 5:29Speaker 1: I did not have experience in the chemistry. I was
- 5:34Speaker 1: working on Wall Street, like looking at stocks and bombs
- 5:37Speaker 1: and still spreadsheets all day. Um, but that's what happens
- 5:41Speaker 1: when you when you're operating in purpose and you're operating
- 5:45Speaker 1: with determination. Like, no, I didn't know how to make lipstick,
- 5:48Speaker 1: but I did everything in my power to learn. And
- 5:50Speaker 1: I'm not gonna say it was easy. It took probably
- 5:52Speaker 1: a thousand batches of lipstick, you know, me making these
- 5:56Speaker 1: products before I got to a good one. It was
- 6:00Speaker 1: story of resilience, and I think that's largely the lit
- 6:02Speaker 1: bar story. Now, the real product is a vegan product. Correct,
- 6:07Speaker 1: every single thing that we make is vegan and cruelty free,
- 6:10Speaker 1: So that means that we don't use any animal products,
- 6:12Speaker 1: we don't test on animals, and we try to be
- 6:14Speaker 1: as natural as possible without compromising the products, the brand,
- 6:19Speaker 1: or what you're saying that you do, which is really important.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Now you know I love your energy. First of all, Um,
- 6:25Speaker 1: I have a newsletter that I sent out every Friday
- 6:28Speaker 1: nine am. And a good friend of mine I found
- 6:30Speaker 1: out about you was and Simbowski, a Ward, she's the
- 6:34Speaker 1: CEO of Y. She she texts me said, Rashan, you
- 6:40Speaker 1: gotta put it on your show. Who Melissa nip Bar.
- 6:46Speaker 1: She's really good because you know she lives in Detroit
- 6:48Speaker 1: and she lives in Minnesota. And so that's how I
- 6:51Speaker 1: found out about you. Then I then every Tuesday I
- 6:54Speaker 1: meet with my staff and I said, uh, I've been
- 6:56Speaker 1: recommended to interview a young lady by the name of
- 7:00Speaker 1: us A Butler as she owns the lip Bar. And
- 7:01Speaker 1: then my staff co we've already contacted her, so you're
- 7:08Speaker 1: already on their radar. My staff's radar people that I
- 7:12Speaker 1: should bring on my show is entrepreneurs. So the blessings
- 7:15Speaker 1: are Is that a good friend of mine who is
- 7:19Speaker 1: all I love the death and she's a fantastic smart
- 7:23Speaker 1: person and you know, a good person to recommended you,
- 7:26Speaker 1: and then my staff already was greater to book you.
- 7:28Speaker 1: So with that being I love and to death, I
- 7:32Speaker 1: love that woman. She has been so hopeful in my journey.
- 7:37Speaker 1: She she called your boy right now, told me that
- 7:40Speaker 1: this is a person I should have on the show
- 7:42Speaker 1: because you're a blessing. You're gifted. And that's what I
- 7:45Speaker 1: do on money, make conversations. I bring brands in and
- 7:48Speaker 1: I use my brand free charge. I'm not here to
- 7:50Speaker 1: try to make money. I'm just trying to give a
- 7:51Speaker 1: platform to entrepreneurs that they can talk to tell their
- 7:54Speaker 1: story when no no, when no hidden agendas. It's about
- 7:58Speaker 1: to the guts that you share on my show. Hopefully
- 8:02Speaker 1: other people hear it and go wow, I can do
- 8:04Speaker 1: it too. That's what this show is about. I'm motivating
- 8:07Speaker 1: people to believe that they can do it too. Like
- 8:09Speaker 1: my degree, just a little quick backstory, very short backstory.
- 8:13Speaker 1: My degree is in mathematics and computer stuff and sociology.
- 8:16Speaker 1: That's my degree. I got into mathematics and I went
- 8:18Speaker 1: to work for IBM, and left IBM to pursue a
- 8:21Speaker 1: career as a stand up comedian and became a sitcom
- 8:23Speaker 1: writer and managed talent and marketing branding Gurgle for Fortune
- 8:27Speaker 1: five companies and producing television shows and film. That's my background, Okay,
- 8:32Speaker 1: but I didn't start out like that. I was a
- 8:34Speaker 1: math My degree is a mathematic Just like you said,
- 8:36Speaker 1: you know your your degree wasn't in chemistry. That didn't
- 8:39Speaker 1: stop you. So with that, I said, I'm trying to
- 8:42Speaker 1: because but that's a that's a big swing. I just
- 8:44Speaker 1: went from telling you from mathematic to telling jokes. That
- 8:47Speaker 1: wasn't that big of a jump. Okay, I just I
- 8:50Speaker 1: just I just stopped a stuff. You know, your jump
- 8:53Speaker 1: is huge. Here I'm trying, I'm trying to figure out
- 8:55Speaker 1: how confident did you have to be? So could you
- 8:58Speaker 1: walk me through the steps and not try to reveal anything.
- 9:01Speaker 1: But that's pretty impressive, miss Butler. The fact that you
- 9:05Speaker 1: were confident enough, and I'm sure you were the guinea
- 9:08Speaker 1: pig of your of all your stuff, maybe some close
- 9:11Speaker 1: friends and things like that. Once you got going there
- 9:13Speaker 1: a little bit, because you wanted to try on different
- 9:15Speaker 1: skin tones and different skin textures and things like that.
- 9:18Speaker 1: So when you thought of just talking about the time
- 9:21Speaker 1: that you said, Okay, I want to do this, what
- 9:23Speaker 1: did other people say to you? Oh, I mean people
- 9:27Speaker 1: thought I was crazy. My my mom thought I was crazy.
- 9:31Speaker 1: My mom was like, oh, wait, you're quitting your job
- 9:34Speaker 1: because And two years in, I quit my job not
- 9:38Speaker 1: because I was making a ton of money, but because
- 9:40Speaker 1: I really believed in what I was doing and I
- 9:42Speaker 1: knew that what I was doing could be powerful and
- 9:45Speaker 1: could really impact to women across the country. Um So
- 9:49Speaker 1: when I quit my job, I wasn't even replacing my salary.
- 9:52Speaker 1: I wasn't even going to be able to pay myself
- 9:54Speaker 1: a salary. But I knew that that was the risk
- 9:57Speaker 1: that I was willing to take it because I knew
- 9:59Speaker 1: that I didn't had any other real responsibility. So for me,
- 10:02Speaker 1: it was more so like I would rather risk it
- 10:06Speaker 1: all and and either fall flat on my face or
- 10:09Speaker 1: regret not going after it. And so that was a
- 10:12Speaker 1: decision that I had to make. And yeah, you're right,
- 10:16Speaker 1: like you have to have some level of confidence. But
- 10:19Speaker 1: at the end of the day, I didn't know what
- 10:21Speaker 1: I was doing. I had no idea what I was
- 10:24Speaker 1: doing or and you know how big or how small
- 10:27Speaker 1: it could get. But I knew that what I was
- 10:30Speaker 1: doing was important. So you know, for all business owners,
- 10:34Speaker 1: they they told you to make sure you're starting what's
- 10:36Speaker 1: a problem, right, So I very clearly knew that there
- 10:39Speaker 1: was a problem within the industry. And I was like,
- 10:42Speaker 1: you know what, I don't know. I don't know how
- 10:44Speaker 1: this works. I don't know anything about the beauty industry.
- 10:46Speaker 1: I don't know anything about manufacturing. But I'm going to
- 10:50Speaker 1: try because I think this is a problem that's worth solving,
- 10:52Speaker 1: and you are and obviously people are reacted to it.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Here's there is something funny. I'm just let you know.
- 10:57Speaker 1: I have a newsletter that goes out every Friday at
- 11:00Speaker 1: nine am. Goes i'd like to ninety thousand subscribers and
- 11:04Speaker 1: so on. And I told my my staff, I said,
- 11:07Speaker 1: Trump one of her add you know, one of your
- 11:10Speaker 1: ads uh banners in there with the link and everything.
- 11:14Speaker 1: It was the most clicked link in my newsletter two
- 11:18Speaker 1: weeks ago. That's how that's how popular your brand is it?
- 11:24Speaker 1: And I always tell people, you know, it was the
- 11:26Speaker 1: most click link. It was like it was crazy because
- 11:29Speaker 1: you know, I sent it out on Fridays and on
- 11:31Speaker 1: Mondays meet with the staff and I go at eight
- 11:34Speaker 1: am and I go with Zoom because when the pandemic time,
- 11:36Speaker 1: and I go. They said, what, what's trying to give
- 11:39Speaker 1: us a update on the news letter? I said, Well,
- 11:41Speaker 1: the most clicked link in the newsletter was the lip box.
- 11:47Speaker 1: And and you know the reason I have to say
- 11:50Speaker 1: that because it wasn't tied to you a famous person.
- 11:53Speaker 1: It wasn't. It was just your product and either the
- 11:56Speaker 1: name recognition of your product of the first of all,
- 12:00Speaker 1: the marketing it looks. So you have a beautiful looking product,
- 12:03Speaker 1: first of all, and and doing a tremenus job of
- 12:07Speaker 1: marketing it and so and so. So I didn't know
- 12:10Speaker 1: what to expect when I put in there. I just
- 12:12Speaker 1: know that I support, you know, African American entrepreneurs. That's
- 12:16Speaker 1: the purpose of where I created money making conversations. But
- 12:19Speaker 1: I also noticed that when people click, you have you know,
- 12:23Speaker 1: you have unique clicks and you have a total clicks,
- 12:26Speaker 1: all right, And people just kept going back to you.
- 12:30Speaker 1: So I always tell people that generally is a sign
- 12:32Speaker 1: that people were buying things. When they keep going back,
- 12:35Speaker 1: you know, they go they go back and try to
- 12:36Speaker 1: figure stuff out and go back and go back and
- 12:38Speaker 1: go back. Usually when people click one time, that could
- 12:41Speaker 1: be some sales, but usually, you know, because rather do
- 12:45Speaker 1: people click and they just go through the process of
- 12:47Speaker 1: buying unless they really know what they're doing. So I
- 12:50Speaker 1: just know that you are doing a great job of
- 12:52Speaker 1: marketing and the story you're telling on the air with
- 12:55Speaker 1: me right now, it's pretty impressive. Um, thank you. I'm
- 12:59Speaker 1: not been just with dinner. I just want to thank you.
- 13:01Speaker 1: How do you want to say thank you? You know im,
- 13:07Speaker 1: I'll be having celebraties in there. You know, Erica Campbell,
- 13:10Speaker 1: you're learned the Adams, Kelly Rowlands. You know I have
- 13:13Speaker 1: superstar paddler, but I have superstars being there selling stuff
- 13:16Speaker 1: in my news letter. And then little ms clip ball
- 13:20Speaker 1: click click click click click, congratulations, we go. We're back
- 13:27Speaker 1: with my friend like the little bar Ceo. She moved
- 13:31Speaker 1: from New York to Detroit and May anything was snowing
- 13:35Speaker 1: in Detroit. She to know what she had gotten herself into,
- 13:37Speaker 1: but she's a happy person. We will tell we'll hear
- 13:40Speaker 1: more of a story on money making conversations. Melissa Butler,
- 13:43Speaker 1: thank you for coming on the show. We'll be right
- 13:44Speaker 1: back with more. It's finally here, the season of celebration,

- 15:41Speaker 1: T T E R dot Ai. Hi. This Roshan McDonald.
- 15:44Speaker 1: I'm the host of money Making Conversations Entrepreneurship. I hear
- 15:48Speaker 1: a lot of people, well, I want to be entrepreneurs.
- 15:51Speaker 1: They won't mentor ship. They want to be able to
- 15:54Speaker 1: reach their drink, follow their passion. I hear a lot
- 15:56Speaker 1: of there's a lot of cliches. You hear a lot
- 15:58Speaker 1: in this business of being successful. You know, gifts, passion, um,
- 16:04Speaker 1: don't sleep on who you should really be a lot
- 16:06Speaker 1: of quotes on the phone as a person who um
- 16:10Speaker 1: got a degree, family, FAMI, the rattlers down there will
- 16:14Speaker 1: packer down there, you know as my board did two
- 16:18Speaker 1: movies with him Thinking like a Man and Think like
- 16:20Speaker 1: a Man too, and just a number of great things.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Before we go into further into your brand, I want
- 16:26Speaker 1: to talk about the HBCU experience. I always like to
- 16:30Speaker 1: talk to the individuals and I have that experience, that
- 16:35Speaker 1: level of education, and to reflect on the importance of HBCUs.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Can you can you talk to us about it? Melissa
- 16:43Speaker 1: oh man Um, I mean, if I'm gonna be honest,
- 16:46Speaker 1: family changed my life, Like honestly, it changed my life.
- 16:51Speaker 1: I before I got to family, you, I didn't know
- 16:55Speaker 1: how culturally diverged Black people are I and I didn't
- 17:01Speaker 1: really know how to fill myself. I didn't know what
- 17:05Speaker 1: made um a special And like you know, when you
- 17:09Speaker 1: grow up, you always here that you know, we have
- 17:11Speaker 1: to work prices hard, and I think at an institution
- 17:14Speaker 1: like FAMU and like other HBCUs you know, you're surrounded
- 17:18Speaker 1: by black excellence, so it doesn't become something that that
- 17:23Speaker 1: you have to strive for, it becomes your default. So
- 17:26Speaker 1: fam You, fam You taught me how to make excellence
- 17:30Speaker 1: to my default. And it taught me how to have
- 17:32Speaker 1: just such such pride in the diversity of black people. Now,
- 17:37Speaker 1: I'm from Detroit, so Detroit is one of the blackest
- 17:40Speaker 1: cities in America. Is not the blackest city in America.
- 17:43Speaker 1: So I've always had, like, you know, the very strong
- 17:47Speaker 1: racial pride. Like I've always been a very proud black one,
- 17:51Speaker 1: but like going to FAMU it really cemented that. And
- 17:55Speaker 1: and I'm I'm just really proud to have had primarily
- 17:58Speaker 1: black experience. Is because I've never had the question who
- 18:02Speaker 1: I am. I've never I've never been in an environment
- 18:05Speaker 1: where I felt the need to assimilate, even when I
- 18:07Speaker 1: was working on Wall Street and I'm surrounded by you know,
- 18:11Speaker 1: older white men. It was my days at FAM You
- 18:14Speaker 1: that prepared me for those moments. So, like, I just
- 18:17Speaker 1: really feel so blessed to have have gone to that university.
- 18:20Speaker 1: If I'm gonna be honest, well, I'm just telling you congratulations. Also,
- 18:24Speaker 1: it also taught you that that be fearless obviously in
- 18:28Speaker 1: developing this liber Yeah, let's talk about because I mentioned
- 18:33Speaker 1: the newsletter and I and how it was the most
- 18:36Speaker 1: clicked um a banner or link in my newsletter that week.
- 18:42Speaker 1: How did the marketing start? Let's talking You talked about
- 18:45Speaker 1: the product, okay, and how you developed that. Let's talk
- 18:48Speaker 1: about the marketing and the art work. How did that
- 18:50Speaker 1: come about? And who did you work with? So it's
- 18:55Speaker 1: a couple of different facets of the lip bar as
- 18:57Speaker 1: a company. So number one, I always say that that
- 19:02Speaker 1: we don't like the product is just something that we
- 19:05Speaker 1: happen to sell, but what we do is empower women.
- 19:08Speaker 1: So like what we do as a company is empower
- 19:10Speaker 1: women and remind them that they are enough. And then
- 19:14Speaker 1: what we happen to sell the byproduct of that is
- 19:17Speaker 1: you know, the van and cruelty free and high quality
- 19:20Speaker 1: makeup products that we actually sail on the website. So
- 19:23Speaker 1: just understanding that our goal is always to remind people
- 19:27Speaker 1: that they are enough and to allow themselves to be
- 19:29Speaker 1: seen within the beauty industry, that then dictated the rest
- 19:32Speaker 1: of the marketing. So if our goal is like, Okay,
- 19:35Speaker 1: we're gonna increase representation within the beauty industry, and that
- 19:39Speaker 1: automatically decides what models we use. So we're not going
- 19:41Speaker 1: to use the same models that you see in every
- 19:44Speaker 1: single and every other ad because that is that is
- 19:47Speaker 1: the default. And we're trying to expand the minds of
- 19:51Speaker 1: our customers and show them that they are enough. So
- 19:54Speaker 1: so it's a lot of storytelling, and that storytelling really
- 19:58Speaker 1: comes from, you know, who we are as a company
- 20:00Speaker 1: and who we who we're trying to serve as a company.
- 20:02Speaker 1: So you know, we make sure that we're using you know,
- 20:06Speaker 1: women of all complexions, deep deep skin tone, um women
- 20:11Speaker 1: with no hair, women who are plus sized, the women
- 20:15Speaker 1: who um are Muslim. We're we're using all sorts of
- 20:19Speaker 1: women just to show that again, beauty doesn't come in
- 20:22Speaker 1: one shape or size, or one hair texture or one complexion.
- 20:26Speaker 1: Beauty isn't all of us. And so that really dictates
- 20:29Speaker 1: the marketing and it's just constantly telling the stories of
- 20:32Speaker 1: those women because ultimately, that's that's what it's about. It's
- 20:35Speaker 1: not about the product. It's about how this product makes
- 20:38Speaker 1: that woman feel and where this woman uses the product,
- 20:41Speaker 1: you know, where is this product accompanying her in her life?
- 20:45Speaker 1: UM and that's that's really like what dictates all of
- 20:48Speaker 1: our marketing? Well, we're done with it? Well, yeah do
- 20:51Speaker 1: I'm on the website now and seeing this as six
- 20:54Speaker 1: products seven minutes your full face? What exact is that? Yeah,
- 21:03Speaker 1: I'm to have you asked. So we just launched our
- 21:06Speaker 1: fast face system. It's called fast Face System, right yet
- 21:11Speaker 1: fast face? Yeah? Slow down? You know, I got six sisters.
- 21:15Speaker 1: But you you know, just a world. I gotta stay,
- 21:17Speaker 1: stay in the loop with you. You just race out
- 21:19Speaker 1: there like your boy. Know what you're talking about here? Okay,
- 21:23Speaker 1: I feel you. I feel so. So it's called the
- 21:28Speaker 1: fast Face. Well I found is that a lot of
- 21:32Speaker 1: women buy makeup and wear makeup, but they don't really
- 21:35Speaker 1: know how to use it, and they all really know
- 21:37Speaker 1: what works for them. It's kind of like when you
- 21:40Speaker 1: go to the grocery store if you don't know how
- 21:42Speaker 1: to cook and you're just buying a bunch of seasonings,
- 21:44Speaker 1: but you still don't know how to put them to you.
- 21:47Speaker 1: It's very it's a very funny analogy. It's very funny.
- 21:51Speaker 1: I like that. Yeah, if you can't cook, then you
- 21:53Speaker 1: can't cook. You get my every seasoning in the store.
- 21:59Speaker 1: Don't make me that suddition don't turn off better and
- 22:02Speaker 1: so we've we've found that a lot of women were
- 22:06Speaker 1: buying makeup products but didn't really know what worked for them,
- 22:09Speaker 1: what worked for their complexion, how to use the products
- 22:13Speaker 1: um and so we were like, we need to solve
- 22:15Speaker 1: the problem of the lack of education around makeup. Because
- 22:19Speaker 1: makeup is one of those things that that's been around
- 22:22Speaker 1: for a really long time. You just automatically expect that
- 22:25Speaker 1: people know what they're doing, but they don't. Like my
- 22:28Speaker 1: my customers are not makeup artists. They're not the people
- 22:31Speaker 1: who are watching YouTube videos. They don't have time, you know,
- 22:35Speaker 1: they're raising kids, or they're they're growing in their careers,
- 22:38Speaker 1: or they're just spending time more time on what actually matters.
- 22:43Speaker 1: And I'm gonna be honest, we've we've never believed that
- 22:45Speaker 1: makeup was the most important thing and it should never be.
- 22:48Speaker 1: So we were like, Okay, well, how do we allow
- 22:51Speaker 1: our customers to show up there as their best selves
- 22:55Speaker 1: without having to spend so much time trying to learn this.
- 22:58Speaker 1: So we launched our faith Are Fast Faced system, which
- 23:02Speaker 1: is basically like the proactive of makeup, where six products
- 23:06Speaker 1: and it's designed to give you your full makeup look
- 23:09Speaker 1: in seven minutes or less, and we tell you exactly,
- 23:12Speaker 1: you know how to use the products, and we curate
- 23:15Speaker 1: what works for your complexion for you. So once we
- 23:18Speaker 1: know your foundation, we select all the rest of the
- 23:21Speaker 1: products for you, so you don't have to think about
- 23:23Speaker 1: what blushed works from my complection, what lips it works
- 23:26Speaker 1: for me? If we know your skin tone, then we
- 23:28Speaker 1: select every single item in that fast face kid, this
- 23:32Speaker 1: is awesome. Um so I'm just looking at your sight here,
- 23:36Speaker 1: I'm looking at her site as uh, the lip bar
- 23:39Speaker 1: dot com. That's why I got the information about the
- 23:41Speaker 1: six products seven minute minutes your full face, which is
- 23:45Speaker 1: the fast faced system that she was talking about, and
- 23:47Speaker 1: then you have then then I clicked tutorials and then
- 23:50Speaker 1: you have the was that the fast Faced challenge right there? Yeah,
- 23:55Speaker 1: that's that's that's so much fun. That's like the context,
- 23:58Speaker 1: you know, I'm just going with for your having fun.
- 24:00Speaker 1: I'm just always just click just but you know, I'm
- 24:08Speaker 1: very complimentary of you because of the fact that, uh,
- 24:11Speaker 1: it's a you know everything. I love walkinging, I love branding,
- 24:15Speaker 1: I love trying to figure out what white people relate
- 24:18Speaker 1: to anything. First of all, your your lines and your
- 24:22Speaker 1: artwork clean. They're very clean, and and and and everything's
- 24:27Speaker 1: very it's it's just it's just almost like it's three dimensional,
- 24:30Speaker 1: but it's not. It's just done that well. And so
- 24:34Speaker 1: you tell a really good, fun story on your website,
- 24:38Speaker 1: and that's important because you know it's online, it's online business,
- 24:42Speaker 1: and so you're not working out of a storefront, and
- 24:45Speaker 1: so that is important. So when I'm just having fun
- 24:49Speaker 1: going and I'm at the Fast Faced Challenge, I clicked tutorials,
- 24:52Speaker 1: I got options, I'm not I'm not limited. I got
- 24:55Speaker 1: the shade find I got the eye of the face,
- 24:57Speaker 1: the lips, the fast faced kids. All is good stuff
- 25:00Speaker 1: is a guy. I'm a guy now older guy that
- 25:03Speaker 1: not whearing in it is and I'm having fun. So
- 25:06Speaker 1: I can imagine that the women that come to your site,
- 25:08Speaker 1: and now I can see why your site was so clicked.
- 25:11Speaker 1: When people they click, they had to come back. This
- 25:14Speaker 1: is fun, this is fun. You tell a great story
- 25:16Speaker 1: that's hilarious. Thank you. And honestly, we had to learn
- 25:22Speaker 1: how to tell that story because when we when we launched,
- 25:25Speaker 1: you know a lot of small businesses out there, you
- 25:27Speaker 1: don't you don't have money to launch into a retail store.
- 25:30Speaker 1: You don't have money to open your own store. So
- 25:32Speaker 1: we were like, all right, well, we're selling something that
- 25:35Speaker 1: people traditionally buy in person. How do we make the
- 25:38Speaker 1: most impactful moment possible online to give that customer confidence
- 25:43Speaker 1: to place in that order. Now we have a little
- 25:45Speaker 1: bit of flexibility because we're on target stores across the country. Graville,
- 25:52Speaker 1: I mean that's a little bit of town, akin, Okay, Columbius,
- 26:00Speaker 1: the tower that Columbia, rock Hill, South Carolina, Charlotte, North Carolina.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Congratulations here this is all I mean when when they
- 26:10Speaker 1: you crossed the board here, so you know, I also
- 26:12Speaker 1: know that they can buy you through the Amazon because
- 26:14Speaker 1: I went online. You know Amazon, I'll be I'll be
- 26:16Speaker 1: doing my little research. I don't know if you know, miss,
- 26:18Speaker 1: but I don't just get on the phone just start
- 26:21Speaker 1: talking to somebody tying that confused. I've done my homework
- 26:24Speaker 1: on you, and you got your little act together, little miss,
- 26:27Speaker 1: Fami you little miss. I was in New York just
- 26:30Speaker 1: doing it and I got tired. I just went on
- 26:32Speaker 1: back home Detroit said hey, I'm gonna make it happen,
- 26:35Speaker 1: and you all making it happen if you had to
- 26:37Speaker 1: say anything to anybody who listened to your shows. The
- 26:41Speaker 1: lift bar dot com our own lines of very use
- 26:44Speaker 1: of front the site. You can go to the store
- 26:47Speaker 1: locator and find out the nearest target near you. And
- 26:50Speaker 1: believe me, it's gonna be a target near you. I'm
- 26:52Speaker 1: going through this little thing and it's it's so you know,
- 26:55Speaker 1: when you scroll down, you get tied scrolling down. I'm
- 26:58Speaker 1: tired of scrolling down. That's how many target stories? She
- 27:01Speaker 1: she she's wearing me at Warren, Michigan, Greenville Northline. I'm

- 27:08Speaker 1: used to travel this country all over. I know how
- 27:10Speaker 1: small Greenville, North Carolina. See that's a compliment. See when
- 27:14Speaker 1: you're in cities like Greenville, Northclina, that means everybody buying
- 27:18Speaker 1: her product. Everybody understands the value of a product. And
- 27:21Speaker 1: it's only get bigger. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, this is awesome. I'm
- 27:26Speaker 1: excited for you. What's the what's the what's the goal here?
- 27:29Speaker 1: Ms Butler, Well, you're gonna take over the world. You are.

- 27:50Speaker 1: ultimate goal here? My friend? You know, it just started
- 27:53Speaker 1: out to make sure that everybody should not understand that
- 27:56Speaker 1: beauty doesn't start with the product starts with them. Then

- 28:02Speaker 1: it's vegan, you know, and it's not cruelty related. What's
- 28:06Speaker 1: the future? Lip Bar? The future just to make sure
- 28:11Speaker 1: that every woman knows that they are enough and to
