- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome to Verdict with Senator Ted Cruz. Ben Ferguson with
- 0:03Speaker 1: your senator. Nice to be with you today, except we're
- 0:06Speaker 1: in different places on this episode. For people, they're like, wait,
- 0:09Speaker 1: why aren't they in the same room. I had to
- 0:11Speaker 1: fly back to my hometown of Memphis to check out
- 0:13Speaker 1: my dad, who is in the hospital. He is doing okay,
- 0:16Speaker 1: but that's why we're remote today. And Senator, it's going
- 0:19Speaker 1: to be with you as always. Ben, Great to be
- 0:21Speaker 1: with you. A lot going on in the world, and
- 0:23Speaker 1: hope your dad continues to do better. He is doing well,
- 0:26Speaker 1: Thank goodness. Let's start in on this big issue, and
- 0:29Speaker 1: that is we have a game plan now from the
- 0:32Speaker 1: President of the United States of America to fix the
- 0:35Speaker 1: problems at the border. And he's decided that if we
- 0:39Speaker 1: just use woke terminology, all the issues of the border
- 0:43Speaker 1: are gonna go away. Let's just let you get your
- 0:46Speaker 1: initial reaction to some of these terminologies the presidents decide
- 0:50Speaker 1: to use while visiting apparently the president in Mexico. This
- 0:53Speaker 1: is what their master plan is. Yeah, look, it's even
- 0:56Speaker 1: worse than that. So in the last few days, Joe Biden,
- 0:59Speaker 1: they're good news and bad news Joe Biden has done
- 1:02Speaker 1: more in the last few days on our southern border
- 1:04Speaker 1: than he has the entirety of his presidency. That's the
- 1:07Speaker 1: good news. The bad news is everything he's done is bad.
- 1:10Speaker 1: He flew down to the southern border. He went to
- 1:13Speaker 1: El Paso, not the Rio Grand Valley, which is the
- 1:15Speaker 1: epicenter of the disaster. Before he arrived in El Paso,
- 1:18Speaker 1: there had been illegal immigrants sleeping on the streets. The
- 1:21Speaker 1: mayor had declared an emergency. So what did they do.
- 1:23Speaker 1: They cleaned all the illegal immigrants off the street before
- 1:26Speaker 1: Joe Biden arrived because they wanted to set it up
- 1:28Speaker 1: like a TV set and clear everyone out when he
- 1:32Speaker 1: got there. This is an amazing thing, Karine John Pierre
- 1:35Speaker 1: said from the White House podium. She said Biden did
- 1:39Speaker 1: not meet or speak to, or see a single illegal
- 1:43Speaker 1: immigrant when he was there. Now, that is friggate heart.
- 1:47Speaker 1: I have been to the border many, many times. We've
- 1:51Speaker 1: had five point three million people cross illegally under Joe
- 1:54Speaker 1: Biden's presidency. For him to go to the border and
- 1:57Speaker 1: not see a single illegal immigrant, I guarantee you that
- 2:01Speaker 1: was political staffers working overtime saying make sure you don't
- 2:06Speaker 1: show some little girl who was sexually assaulted by the traffickers.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Make sure you don't show some impoverished person who went
- 2:14Speaker 1: through a horrific journey to get here. Definitely make sure
- 2:17Speaker 1: you don't show an MS thirteen gang member who just
- 2:20Speaker 1: came into this country and is now carry out crimes
- 2:23Speaker 1: in this country. Instead, he went down there for a
- 2:25Speaker 1: photo op, but then he wasn't done. Then he got
- 2:29Speaker 1: on a plane and he headed to Mexico, and he
- 2:31Speaker 1: met with Amlow, the President of Mexico, and he announced
- 2:36Speaker 1: the Biden border plan. And it is truly stunning. So
- 2:40Speaker 1: here's what Joe Biden has said, and I want to
- 2:42Speaker 1: quote him. He has said, quote, we are trying to
- 2:46Speaker 1: make it easier for people to get here. In other words,
- 2:51Speaker 1: the five point three million that have crossed illegally, that's
- 2:54Speaker 1: not a bug, that's a feature. They want more of it.
- 2:58Speaker 1: He doesn't intend to fix this. He do want to
- 3:00Speaker 1: fix this. Instead, he wants full on open borders. He's
- 3:07Speaker 1: not hiding it. And by the way, Amlow, the president
- 3:10Speaker 1: of Mexico, he gets it. Have a listen to what
- 3:13Speaker 1: Amlow said with Joe Biden standing next to him about
- 3:17Speaker 1: Biden as president and board of Security. And before we
- 3:20Speaker 1: play that, I want to remind everybody real quick about
- 3:22Speaker 1: our good friends at Patriot and Mobile. If you have
- 3:26Speaker 1: a cell phone and your cell phone is with a
- 3:29Speaker 1: big carrier, you can make a difference. By switching to
- 3:33Speaker 1: Patriot Mobile. You're probably going to save money on your bill.
- 3:35Speaker 1: You get to keep your same cell phone number and
- 3:37Speaker 1: many times the same cell phone you have. But while
- 3:39Speaker 1: you pay that bill, you are going to be saving
- 3:42Speaker 1: and supporting conservative causes. It sent it for our First
- 3:45Speaker 1: Amendment rights or Second Amendment rights. They're also now helping
- 3:48Speaker 1: the lives of the unborn, protecting them and helping with adoptions.
- 3:52Speaker 1: So imagine knowing that every time you use your phone,
- 3:55Speaker 1: you're standing up for what you believe in. If you're
- 3:58Speaker 1: ready to put your money where your mouth is and
- 4:00Speaker 1: you want to stand with a company that stands with
- 4:02Speaker 1: your values, check out Patriot Mobile. Go to Patriotmobile dot
- 4:05Speaker 1: com slash verdict. That's Patriot Mobile dot com slash verdict.
- 4:11Speaker 1: You can also call them nine to seven to Patriot
- 4:15Speaker 1: use promo code verdict for the biggest savings of the year. Again,
- 4:19Speaker 1: nine to seven to Patriot use promo code verdict Center.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Let's play that video real quick of the president in
- 4:24Speaker 1: Mexico talking about how proud he is the America is
- 4:27Speaker 1: given the ultimate thing, the ultimate gift, that open border.
- 4:32Speaker 1: It'sn't but he meant it, but I didn't. And what's
- 4:36Speaker 1: your temple, Ao, Neil Mitro de Murdo, L. Sill and
- 4:50Speaker 1: Ben if your Spanish is not up to snuff. What
- 4:53Speaker 1: Amlow just said is is that you're the first president
- 4:56Speaker 1: of the United States in a long time who had
- 5:00Speaker 1: hasn't built even a single meter a border wall. And
- 5:06Speaker 1: that he said, we appreciate so explicitly. By the way,
- 5:09Speaker 1: Amlow is a leftist Marxist president of Mexico who has
- 5:15Speaker 1: been embracing the cartels, who's been turning a blind eye
- 5:18Speaker 1: to the cartels murdering police officers, murdering journalist. And he's
- 5:23Speaker 1: standing there with Biden beaming, praising him because you're the
- 5:27Speaker 1: first president a long time. By the way, he's including
- 5:29Speaker 1: Barack Obama in that, he's including George W. Bush, He's
- 5:33Speaker 1: including Barack Obama, He's including Bill Clinton, He's including of
- 5:36Speaker 1: course Donald Trump. Joe Biden is the worst of all
- 5:40Speaker 1: of them on open borders. Amlo is praising him, and
- 5:45Speaker 1: then the White House rolled out this rather amazing document
- 5:50Speaker 1: on January tenth. It's called the Declaration of North America DNA.
- 5:55Speaker 1: So this is their leftist DNA. I don't think that
- 5:58Speaker 1: that acronym is is accidental. So we are right now
- 6:04Speaker 1: facing the worst crisis of illegal immigration in the history
- 6:07Speaker 1: of our country. It has never been this bad. Five
- 6:10Speaker 1: point three million people across the illegal ender. Joe Biden,
- 6:14Speaker 1: the Biden White House lays out six principles. You know what.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Principal Number one is all woke liberal ideology. That's what
- 6:23Speaker 1: they're gonna do with the entire list. Principle number one diversity,
- 6:29Speaker 1: equity and inclusion. That's the very first thing. Not border security,
- 6:34Speaker 1: not saving lives, not preventing women from being raped, not
- 6:37Speaker 1: preventing children from being assaulted, not stopping fetting off from
- 6:42Speaker 1: flooding across the border. Diversity, equity, and inclusion. What do
- 6:45Speaker 1: you think number two is? I'm gonna go with woke
- 6:48Speaker 1: ideology yet again, like an academic decided to write this
- 6:51Speaker 1: for the White House at it's some woke school right.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Climate change and environments, that's number two. That's what he's
- 7:01Speaker 1: down there topic to Mexico. That made out Gore happy.
- 7:04Speaker 1: I'm sure number three, surely legal immigration comes up. Number three, Nope, competitiveness,
- 7:12Speaker 1: We need to outsource more to Mexico. What's number four?
- 7:17Speaker 1: Number four? All right, finally immigration comes up. It's entitled
- 7:23Speaker 1: Migration and Development. And what do they say they want
- 7:25Speaker 1: to do about it? Work together to advance labor mobility
- 7:32Speaker 1: and North America. And in particular, it says, since June, Mexico,
- 7:36Speaker 1: the United States and Canada collectively welcomed record numbers of
- 7:40Speaker 1: migrants and refugees from the Western Hemisphere under new and
- 7:43Speaker 1: expanded humanitarian programs. They don't want to end it. They're
- 7:48Speaker 1: not trying to end it. They're not asking for Mexico's
- 7:51Speaker 1: help and ending it. They want more. Number five on
- 7:55Speaker 1: this list is health. Number six is regional security. Do
- 8:03Speaker 1: you know what word does not appear in this entire
- 8:05Speaker 1: White House list? Cartel. I didn't hear anything about actual
- 8:10Speaker 1: border security or the cartels, or the drugs or the
- 8:13Speaker 1: fetanyl for that matter, fentanyl. Look, last year, we had
- 8:17Speaker 1: over one hundred thousand Americans die of drug overdoses. Most
- 8:22Speaker 1: of those opioids, many of them fentanyl. It is a
- 8:25Speaker 1: deadly poison that is murdering Americans. Joe Biden and the
- 8:31Speaker 1: Democrats don't care. They don't want to stop it. They're
- 8:34Speaker 1: not purporting to stop it. And this meeting with Amlow, Listen,
- 8:39Speaker 1: even though Amlow is a leftist, he was afraid of
- 8:44Speaker 1: Donald Trump. He was afraid of Donald Trump. I'm gonna
- 8:48Speaker 1: tell you an interesting story. So we've talked before about
- 8:52Speaker 1: how the remaining Mexico Agreement, how effective it was. Let
- 8:57Speaker 1: me tell you how it came to pass. So it
- 8:59Speaker 1: came to pass. Donald Trump was president, and he issued
- 9:03Speaker 1: a threat to Mexico. He said he was going to
- 9:06Speaker 1: impose a twenty five percent tariff on goods coming in
- 9:12Speaker 1: from Mexico. Now, I got to say, you and I
- 9:14Speaker 1: are both Texas, and a twenty five percent tariff on
- 9:17Speaker 1: goods coming from Mexico would be devastating to Texas farmers,
- 9:22Speaker 1: to Texas ranchers, to Texas manufacturers and businesses, and so catastrophic.
- 9:28Speaker 1: I was vocal criticizing, and I said, look, I'm all
- 9:32Speaker 1: for securing the border and doing everything necessary, but punishing
- 9:35Speaker 1: the people of Texas and the businesses of Texas and
- 9:38Speaker 1: jobs in Texas is a mistake. And what I said
- 9:41Speaker 1: at the time, I said, look, Trump is playing a
- 9:44Speaker 1: game of chicken where he's driving a truck really fast
- 9:47Speaker 1: and another guy at a country road. And sometimes you
- 9:51Speaker 1: win a game of chicken, sometimes the other guy swerves.
- 9:54Speaker 1: And I said at the time when he issued that demand,
- 9:56Speaker 1: I said, if Trump wins this game of chicken, if
- 9:59Speaker 1: Amlo swerbs, then it'll be great and we'll make real
- 10:02Speaker 1: steps towards solving the problem. But if he doesn't, if
- 10:05Speaker 1: Amlow crashes his truck into Trumps, the result is gonna
- 10:09Speaker 1: be a ton of lost jobs and harm in the
- 10:12Speaker 1: state of Texas. Well. It turned out Trump won the
- 10:16Speaker 1: game of chicken. Amlow blinked, he gave in, and he
- 10:20Speaker 1: signed the remaining Mexico Agreement. Now, the night he signed it,
- 10:26Speaker 1: I was at a retreat with a bunch of other
- 10:29Speaker 1: Republican senators. I was there with my wife, and I
- 10:32Speaker 1: was with Roy Blunt and his wife, and I was
- 10:35Speaker 1: with Corey Gardner and his wife. Roy Blunt was senator
- 10:37Speaker 1: from Missouri. Corey Gardner was sentator from Colorado. So the
- 10:40Speaker 1: six of us were sitting down having a glass of
- 10:44Speaker 1: wine together and Trump calls my cell phone right after
- 10:48Speaker 1: the news broke and I answer it, and he goes, ted,
- 10:55Speaker 1: I was right, you were wrong, I said, high mister President,
- 11:00Speaker 1: and he was exultant. He was on cloud nine. And
- 11:06Speaker 1: I decided, all right, if he's gonna give me grief
- 11:08Speaker 1: about it, I'm going to do the natural step, which
- 11:10Speaker 1: is bring others in other people. So I said, mister President,
- 11:13Speaker 1: I'm here with Roy and Corey. Why don't I put
- 11:15Speaker 1: it on speakerphone. And so we put it on speaker phone,
- 11:19Speaker 1: and Trump was exultant. He was really really happy, and
- 11:23Speaker 1: he said, you want to hear the details of that
- 11:24Speaker 1: the deal? We said, sure. And the deal involved, among
- 11:27Speaker 1: other things, if I remember right, Mexico agreed to put
- 11:30Speaker 1: six thousand soldiers on their southern border. You know, the
- 11:33Speaker 1: southern border of Mexico on again, next to Guatemala, is
- 11:36Speaker 1: much much smaller than our southern border. It's much easier
- 11:39Speaker 1: to secure the border south of Mexico than it is
- 11:42Speaker 1: on our southern border. And he agreed to remain in Mexico.
- 11:45Speaker 1: He agreed to the agreement that people who crossed illegally
- 11:47Speaker 1: into Mexico would remain in Mexico while their US asylum
- 11:51Speaker 1: case was proceeding, and he walks through it, and he asked,
- 11:55Speaker 1: you know, so it turns out all you all you
- 11:57Speaker 1: guys were wrong about this, and Roy Blunt had had
- 12:00Speaker 1: the line of the night. He said, mister President, now
- 12:04Speaker 1: that you got a deal, we were with you the
- 12:06Speaker 1: entire way, and Trump brilliant. Yeah. Look, Trump holed, laughing.
- 12:14Speaker 1: It was a good line, but it was am Loo
- 12:17Speaker 1: was scared of Trump. The amazing thing is he was
- 12:20Speaker 1: scared enough. Look, he thought Trump was crazy enough to
- 12:23Speaker 1: put the tariffs on Mexico, which would have hurt the
- 12:26Speaker 1: United States, but it would have hurt Mexico too, And
- 12:30Speaker 1: because Trump had a credible threat, I have to say,
- 12:32Speaker 1: I look, his judgment that Amlo was gonna blank was
- 12:36Speaker 1: the right judgment, and that agreement was such a massive,
- 12:41Speaker 1: massive success that it produced the lowest illegal immigration in
- 12:47Speaker 1: forty five years. It's remarkable, and it's because even though
- 12:53Speaker 1: this leftist who ran on anti American rhetoric didn't want
- 12:57Speaker 1: to secure the border, he was scared of the American
- 13:01Speaker 1: president and so he helped do so, and we got
- 13:04Speaker 1: enormous results. When Biden came in, Not only is Amlo
- 13:08Speaker 1: not remotely scared of Biden. Biden comes in there as
- 13:11Speaker 1: the most beta male, weak American president that Amlo is
- 13:16Speaker 1: glowing saying, well, you know, it's great that, unlike Obama,
- 13:20Speaker 1: unlike all the other presidents, you haven't built any border
- 13:23Speaker 1: wall at all. And what does Biden say, Well, diversity, equity, inclusion,
- 13:28Speaker 1: climate change, and we want even more open borders. It
- 13:33Speaker 1: is a travesty and it's even more of a travesty
- 13:36Speaker 1: because in the face of this crisis, we should have
- 13:39Speaker 1: a president who actually stands up for America when dealing
- 13:43Speaker 1: with Mexico. And that's not what I want to ask
- 13:46Speaker 1: you about. The politics. There's a lot that you can,
- 13:49Speaker 1: I think, read into the fact that he said this
- 13:52Speaker 1: publicly referring to the president in Mexico about the American president.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Even if, and this is just politics, most of American
- 14:00Speaker 1: presidents would not want to be praised publicly buy another
- 14:05Speaker 1: country for having an open border. It's just you would
- 14:08Speaker 1: assume bad optics bad for your country, even if that
- 14:12Speaker 1: is your plan. And I think it's also just a
- 14:15Speaker 1: point where this present felt so comfortable because Biden's so
- 14:19Speaker 1: weak that even Biden wouldn't look at him and say, hey, man,
- 14:21Speaker 1: don't say that in public. You're just undermining what I'm
- 14:24Speaker 1: helping you with here. You're undermining the border, the open
- 14:27Speaker 1: border policy that I have here. Don't say it out
- 14:30Speaker 1: loud in front of the media, don't praise me for it.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Just enjoy it and be quiet about it. And yet
- 14:36Speaker 1: it's like Joe Biden is so incompetent that he didn't
- 14:39Speaker 1: even understand how strong this made Mexico look while mocking
- 14:44Speaker 1: the lack of American security. Well, look at the problem.
- 14:49Speaker 1: And people ask me all the time, why would the
- 14:52Speaker 1: Biden administration do this? Why would they have open borders?
- 14:55Speaker 1: And the challenge with today's Democrat party in Washington, they've
- 15:00Speaker 1: given their agenda on every issue over to the radicals.
- 15:04Speaker 1: So on immigration, they've given it over to the open
- 15:06Speaker 1: border radicals. On gun control, they've given it over to
- 15:10Speaker 1: the gun control radicals. On crime and law enforcement, they've
- 15:13Speaker 1: given it over to the abolish the police radicals. On
- 15:16Speaker 1: issues of sexuality, they've given it over to the transgender
- 15:20Speaker 1: radicals who want boys competing against girls in sports and
- 15:25Speaker 1: are fighting for the chemical castration of little boys and
- 15:32Speaker 1: sterilization of little girls in pursuit of woke ideology. Look,
- 15:36Speaker 1: all of those are fringe positions. Their fringe positions. Naturally,
- 15:40Speaker 1: every one of those seventy eighty percent of Americans opposed.
- 15:44Speaker 1: I mean, I mean they're not you know, you think
- 15:47Speaker 1: back to like the Bill Clinton presidency, and I was
- 15:49Speaker 1: not a fan of Bill Clinton. Yeah, but Bill Clinton
- 15:52Speaker 1: consciously tried to triangulate, tried to go to the middle,
- 15:55Speaker 1: and it was successful. It got him elected twice, even
- 15:58Speaker 1: despite his personal scandals. Going to the middle was a
- 16:03Speaker 1: successful strategy for the Democrats. What Biden has employed is
- 16:08Speaker 1: very different, which is today's Democrat Party is essentially an
- 16:12Speaker 1: assembly of radical groups, and each radical groups gets their
- 16:17Speaker 1: issue area, and they're not calculating. The Democrats are not
- 16:23Speaker 1: hiding that they are open borders. They're not pretending they're
- 16:28Speaker 1: going to solve this situation. And part of the reason
- 16:31Speaker 1: is the corporate media so utterly corrupt that they're counting
- 16:35Speaker 1: on them not to tell the stories, not to tell
- 16:38Speaker 1: the truth. There's a reason Biden didn't see a single
- 16:42Speaker 1: illegal immigrant, because when you see a little boy or
- 16:45Speaker 1: little girl who's been sexually assaulted and abused, you can't
- 16:49Speaker 1: just spit it off as look how compassionate I am.
- 16:52Speaker 1: So instead they try to hide it and count on
- 16:54Speaker 1: the media that meted to hide it with them. And
- 16:56Speaker 1: that's the question I was going to ask you as
- 16:58Speaker 1: we wrap this part up, is there's one big story
- 17:02Speaker 1: here that was so clearly underreported and it was an
- 17:05Speaker 1: emission of guilt I think by this administration. There were
- 17:08Speaker 1: a lot of videos that came out in al Paso
- 17:11Speaker 1: of what the Biden administration was doing Senator to get
- 17:14Speaker 1: ready for his visit, and they showed the picture the
- 17:17Speaker 1: day before and the day he arrived. They came in
- 17:21Speaker 1: and you can't say this administration doesn't know what's going on,
- 17:25Speaker 1: because not only do they know what's going on, they
- 17:27Speaker 1: went into al Paso and they literally, in the most
- 17:29Speaker 1: inhumane way, I would argue possible, just cleaned out every
- 17:35Speaker 1: illegal immigrant, every illegal immigrant that was homeless, all of
- 17:39Speaker 1: the stuff that could look bad for the TV cameras
- 17:42Speaker 1: of the route that the president was going to take.
- 17:44Speaker 1: So they know the chaos was there, They know how
- 17:47Speaker 1: many illegals are sleeping on the street, They know how
- 17:50Speaker 1: dirty the streets had become, and how they've lost control
- 17:53Speaker 1: in El Paso because of the massive number illegal immigrants
- 17:56Speaker 1: come across the border. But they made sure for a
- 17:58Speaker 1: twenty four hour period that they just cleaned it out.
- 18:01Speaker 1: They arrested people. This was caught on video. They put
- 18:04Speaker 1: them in the patty wagons. They did exactly what they
- 18:07Speaker 1: should be doing to secure the border, just for a
- 18:09Speaker 1: twenty before our period. So we show the cameras where
- 18:12Speaker 1: the president wouldn't see it. And for the video version
- 18:16Speaker 1: of this pod, we'll put up right now the before
- 18:19Speaker 1: and after picture, so if you're watching the video on YouTube,
- 18:22Speaker 1: you can see it. You can see the before and
- 18:24Speaker 1: after they cleaned it up. By the way, if you're
- 18:27Speaker 1: watching the video on YouTube, that's great, make sure you
- 18:29Speaker 1: subscribe on YouTube. But also make sure you subscribe on
- 18:32Speaker 1: the audio version, because we put out two a week
- 18:34Speaker 1: in just audio, and then we put out one a
- 18:36Speaker 1: week in both audio and video, so make sure you're
- 18:39Speaker 1: subscribed to both. But if you're watching the video, you
- 18:41Speaker 1: can see the before and after, and in the before
- 18:43Speaker 1: and after, look what becomes clear. This is a Hollywood movie.
- 18:47Speaker 1: This is a TV production. The people in charge of
- 18:50Speaker 1: it or Hollywood producers. And if we actually had a
- 18:54Speaker 1: functioning press corps, you couldn't do this. If you had
- 19:00Speaker 1: who were actual journalists who were not pr flax for
- 19:04Speaker 1: the White House, they would cover it, but they don't
- 19:08Speaker 1: cover it because they support the agenda of open borders.
- 19:13Speaker 1: They support the agenda of this White House, and they
- 19:16Speaker 1: no longer view their job as actually reporting on the
- 19:20Speaker 1: children being murdered. Don't matter to these journalists, and they
- 19:25Speaker 1: don't matter to the Democrats, and the Democrats know the
- 19:28Speaker 1: journalists won't report on it. And it's why you have
- 19:31Speaker 1: Biden not only not trying to fix this crisis, but
- 19:35Speaker 1: promising to continue this crisis. He is promising next year,
- 19:41Speaker 1: more people will cross illegally, more children will be assaulted,
- 19:44Speaker 1: more women will be raped, more elderly people will be
- 19:48Speaker 1: abandoned to die in the desert, More drugs will come in,
- 19:50Speaker 1: more fetanal, more gang crimes, more teenagers trapped working for
- 19:55Speaker 1: the cartels. And by the way, the cartels, the word
- 19:58Speaker 1: that doesn't appear in this White House document, have made
- 20:01Speaker 1: billions and billions of dollars because of Joe Biden. Joe
- 20:07Speaker 1: Biden becoming president was hands down the single best thing
- 20:10Speaker 1: that has ever happened for the human traffickers and drug
- 20:13Speaker 1: traffickers in Mexico and across the world. Record profits. It was.
- 20:18Speaker 1: I saw a report the other day that said, they
- 20:21Speaker 1: believe now the amount of money being made off fetnol
- 20:24Speaker 1: will far outpace the cocaine and marijuana drugs that they
- 20:27Speaker 1: were running for decades into this country. They said, it's
- 20:31Speaker 1: the most profitable period, they believe for the cartels in
- 20:34Speaker 1: the history in Mexico, and the President is allowing it
- 20:37Speaker 1: to happen. Well, and Ben, one thing about the cartels,
- 20:41Speaker 1: they make about the same amount of money from human
- 20:44Speaker 1: trafficking and from drug trafficking. Both of those are approximately
- 20:48Speaker 1: fifty percent of their revenue, which tells you what a
- 20:51Speaker 1: big business it is treating human beings as cattle. This
- 20:55Speaker 1: is modern day slavery. Joe Biden is responsible for modern
- 21:00Speaker 1: day slavery, and it is every bit as evil and
- 21:04Speaker 1: grotesque and cruel and inhumane as it was in the
- 21:07Speaker 1: seventeen hundreds and eighteen hundreds. Under Joe Biden, he's responsible
- 21:12Speaker 1: for funding the slave traders and for their murder and
- 21:15Speaker 1: torture and suffering that is all deliberately caused by this
- 21:20Speaker 1: White House. If you hear any Democrats, by the way,
- 21:23Speaker 1: say that there's a secure border, they're lying to you,
- 21:27Speaker 1: because we know for a fact that last year Senator
- 21:30Speaker 1: and as a center from Texas. You see this, more
- 21:33Speaker 1: than anybody. More people cross the border into Texas illegally
- 21:36Speaker 1: last year than any other year on record that we've
- 21:40Speaker 1: had since the government has been keeping these stats. And
- 21:43Speaker 1: that's just the people that we caught. We don't know
- 21:47Speaker 1: how many people got across the border that we didn't catch,
- 21:50Speaker 1: which they clearly believe is another record year that we've
- 21:54Speaker 1: never seen before. Now, that's exactly right, and it is.
- 21:58Speaker 1: It is deliberate, it's not an accident, and they don't
- 22:01Speaker 1: intend to stop. They intend to continue making the problem
- 22:04Speaker 1: worse and worse and worse and turning a blind eye
- 22:07Speaker 1: to the human suffering that results. I want to switch
- 22:10Speaker 1: gears to what we're seeing with the playbook from Democrats
- 22:13Speaker 1: on issues that they go back to Senator when they lose.
- 22:18Speaker 1: We're seeing and we're going to do another show on this,
- 22:21Speaker 1: but I'm just going to use this example. San Francisco
- 22:24Speaker 1: is now saying they want to pay reparations to people
- 22:27Speaker 1: of five million dollars and give them two hundred years
- 22:29Speaker 1: I'm sorry, one hundred and fifty years of salary. You
- 22:32Speaker 1: see Sheila Jackson Lee that's talking about reparations and saying
- 22:36Speaker 1: that she wants to in prison people that say anything
- 22:38Speaker 1: that's negative towards a minority, and we'll deal with that
- 22:41Speaker 1: another day. They're going back to their playbook, which is
- 22:44Speaker 1: we go after guns, we try to start a race
- 22:47Speaker 1: war and divide the country to solidify our base. And
- 22:51Speaker 1: now we are seeing the President and Democrats calling for
- 22:56Speaker 1: banning of AR fifteens again. The President talk about this
- 23:01Speaker 1: on Martin Luther King Day in a very blunt way.
- 23:04Speaker 1: And then we saw the governor in Illinois come out
- 23:08Speaker 1: banning all semi automatic weapons. Uh, that's part two of this.
- 23:12Speaker 1: So they're actually implementing. They're not just talking about. They're
- 23:15Speaker 1: actually doing this state by state where they can. And
- 23:18Speaker 1: then you have people and it may have been the
- 23:20Speaker 1: most amazing clip. It was Haraldo on Fox where he
- 23:24Speaker 1: said this about a R fifteens, It makes makes macho
- 23:29Speaker 1: the people who possess it, Well, look at me. I'm
- 23:32Speaker 1: a big deal. And it's it's not a right, it's rightful.
- 23:35Speaker 1: It is it is it is it is a people. No, No,
- 23:42Speaker 1: that's not what it is. I mean, if you're gonna
- 23:47Speaker 1: say you want to ban something, at least google it
- 23:50Speaker 1: and find out what the hell it means right. And
- 23:53Speaker 1: this is the reason why I will never trust Liberals
- 23:55Speaker 1: Center with my guns, because they don't even know what
- 23:58Speaker 1: they're talking about when it comes to the name of
- 24:00Speaker 1: a gun. Yeah. Look, that embodies the ignorance and apathy
- 24:06Speaker 1: and ideology of the left wing media. So Haraldo has
- 24:11Speaker 1: no idea what an AR fifteen is. All right, that's fine,
- 24:14Speaker 1: there's some people that don't. But Haraldo's job is to
- 24:17Speaker 1: go on TV and talk about issues like gun control.
- 24:21Speaker 1: And Haraldo's decided to be a left winger and advocate
- 24:24Speaker 1: gun control, so he's advocating banning AR fifteens. Here's the problem.
- 24:30Speaker 1: He doesn't know what an AR fifteen is. Now Guttfeld
- 24:34Speaker 1: comes back with, you know, what does the AR stand for?
- 24:38Speaker 1: And Haraldo responds, automatic rifle. Now, you and I both
- 24:42Speaker 1: know that is wrong. That is not what the R
- 24:44Speaker 1: stands for. The the AR stands for Arma Light rifle.
- 24:48Speaker 1: Arma Light was the company in the nineteen fifties that
- 24:50Speaker 1: developed it. And an AR fifteen is a semi automatic rifle.
- 24:54Speaker 1: It's not automatic. It's semi automatic. The difference and look,
- 24:58Speaker 1: list listeners of this pod are educated and savvy, and
- 25:01Speaker 1: so y'all know the difference. But Haraldo has no idea
- 25:05Speaker 1: an automatic rifle. A machine gun is a weapon that
- 25:09Speaker 1: when you hold the trigger down, multiple bullets come out.
- 25:13Speaker 1: You think, Rambo, going, that's a machine gun. A semi
- 25:17Speaker 1: automatic weapon is a weapon when you pull the trigger
- 25:19Speaker 1: once one bullet comes out, and then you pull the
- 25:22Speaker 1: trigger a second time and a second bullet comes out.
- 25:25Speaker 1: It's a fundamental difference machine guns. Automatic rifles have been
- 25:31Speaker 1: functionally illegal in the United States for over eighty years,
- 25:34Speaker 1: other than in very limited circumstances with very strict licenses.
- 25:38Speaker 1: As a practical matter, an ordinary citizen cannot own a
- 25:42Speaker 1: machine gun. So Haraldo there when he says, oh R
- 25:46Speaker 1: stands for automatic rifle, it's not just a gotcha question.
- 25:50Speaker 1: He's fundamentally ignorant about what the thing is that he
- 25:53Speaker 1: wants to ban. And he says, actually, earlier in that
- 25:55Speaker 1: clip he calls it a machine gun. He thinks it
- 25:59Speaker 1: is a machine gun, and he doesn't really care it is.
- 26:04Speaker 1: It is an example when when why can the Democrats
- 26:08Speaker 1: be so left wing because the media is that bad.
- 26:12Speaker 1: They don't know what an AR fifteen is, They don't
- 26:16Speaker 1: care all good, they don't know what they're talking about.
- 26:22Speaker 1: All with weapons. And another example of this sentators this
- 26:25Speaker 1: last week. There was a man who had created apparently
- 26:28Speaker 1: one gun that was a single shot twenty two little
- 26:33Speaker 1: mini gun they called it, with a spring that he
- 26:35Speaker 1: had to pull back and its shot. And he found
- 26:38Speaker 1: out through someone that was looking at the bill in
- 26:41Speaker 1: Illinois where they're banning all of these guns, that his
- 26:44Speaker 1: prototype that never went into production, that was one little bullet,
- 26:48Speaker 1: a twenty two who was springloaded, that never went into production.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Somehow his gun got on the list of the evil, scary,
- 26:55Speaker 1: terrible guns that should be banned in America, they're saying,
- 26:58Speaker 1: at least in Illinois. And they found this guy and
- 27:01Speaker 1: they're like, you never even produced this gun. This is
- 27:04Speaker 1: not something you can even buy on the market. It
- 27:06Speaker 1: doesn't really exist. How did you end up on this list?
- 27:09Speaker 1: And he says, I genuinely have no idea. This is
- 27:13Speaker 1: a gun that I got a patent on, this is
- 27:15Speaker 1: a gun that I did once. And yet Democrats and
- 27:17Speaker 1: again it shows the example that you're mentioning. They don't
- 27:20Speaker 1: even know what they're banning. And the governor in Illinois
- 27:23Speaker 1: has come out and this is serious, and I would
- 27:25Speaker 1: say to conservatives, listen, the governor in Illinois center has
- 27:30Speaker 1: passed a significant law. It's gonna be challenges, but it
- 27:34Speaker 1: bans all semi automatic guns and the majority of firearms
- 27:38Speaker 1: bought in America day, the majority of guns they're used
- 27:40Speaker 1: to protect people's lives. The number one gun that people
- 27:44Speaker 1: have to protect themselves a personal carry are semi automatic weapons.
- 27:48Speaker 1: They've now banned them all, which is really going back
- 27:51Speaker 1: to gun confiscation. Just take a look at this, you know,
- 27:54Speaker 1: I think it's a lot of grandstanding, frankly, and I
- 27:57Speaker 1: know there's some of them that are opposed to the law,
- 28:00Speaker 1: but the fact is they've signed an oath of office
- 28:03Speaker 1: to uphold and enforce the laws of the state of Illinois,
- 28:06Speaker 1: and I expect them to do so. What penalty would
- 28:11Speaker 1: state residents pay if they don't abide by that and
- 28:13Speaker 1: within the next year come forward and register their weapons
- 28:17Speaker 1: in this category. Well, it begins with a fine if
- 28:22Speaker 1: they don't, you know, if they're caught under this law,
- 28:25Speaker 1: begins with a fine. But a second instance, it is
- 28:29Speaker 1: a class four felony. I mean, this is gun confiscation
- 28:33Speaker 1: and the first part there, and this is I think
- 28:36Speaker 1: pretty cool. I'm going to give you the numbers, sheriffs
- 28:39Speaker 1: and eighty Illinois County Center are making clear they will
- 28:43Speaker 1: quote not enforce the assault weapons ban that the Democratic
- 28:46Speaker 1: governor signed into law on Tuesday, saying they will not
- 28:50Speaker 1: do this because they believe it's unconstitutional, which I think
- 28:53Speaker 1: is amazing law enforcement standing up. But this is about
- 28:56Speaker 1: taking away your guns and a gun registry saying if
- 28:58Speaker 1: you don't register them, then you'll be a felon because
- 29:01Speaker 1: you didn't register and by default, which when you're a
- 29:03Speaker 1: felon at that point, you're not allowed to own any firearms. Well,
- 29:07Speaker 1: look that clip, I think really embodies just how extreme
- 29:11Speaker 1: today's Democrat Party is on the question of guns and
- 29:14Speaker 1: how hypocritical it is. Number One, Pritzker is a billionaire.
- 29:18Speaker 1: He lives with vast wealth. He is surrounded as governor,
- 29:22Speaker 1: he's surrounded by an armed police detail. Previously he was surrounded,
- 29:28Speaker 1: no doubt. I don't know this for sure, but I
- 29:30Speaker 1: would wager a whole lot of money that he had
- 29:33Speaker 1: armed security with him just as a really rich guy.
- 29:36Speaker 1: He lives in a really rich neighborhood with armed security
- 29:40Speaker 1: and has kept very very safe. What does he want
- 29:42Speaker 1: to do? He wants to disarm the ordinary citizens of Illinois.
- 29:47Speaker 1: And by the way, Illinois Chicago already has some of
- 29:51Speaker 1: the strictest gun control laws in the country, and it,
- 29:55Speaker 1: year after year after year, has among the highest crime
- 29:58Speaker 1: rates and murder rates. Why not because they don't have
- 30:01Speaker 1: tough enough gun control. In fact, in Chicago, the gun
- 30:04Speaker 1: control laws have succeeded in disarming the law abiding citizens
- 30:08Speaker 1: because by definition, if you're law abiding, you abide the law.
- 30:12Speaker 1: But the criminals are not law abiding. The gang bangers
- 30:15Speaker 1: are not law abiding, and they have all the guns
- 30:18Speaker 1: they need, and so they're shooting each other, and they're
- 30:21Speaker 1: shooting innocent citizens. They're shooting Many of the people murdered
- 30:25Speaker 1: in Chicago under these gun control laws, many of them
- 30:28Speaker 1: are African American, many of them are Hispanic, the vast
- 30:30Speaker 1: majority of them are low income. And the Democrats don't care.
- 30:34Speaker 1: Those black lives don't matter to them. The kids that
- 30:37Speaker 1: are shot and drive by shootings, those don't matter. And
- 30:39Speaker 1: their solution is to say you can't defend your home.
- 30:43Speaker 1: Every year, this is according to the Obama White House
- 30:45Speaker 1: Fiers arms are used defensively to stop a crime between
- 30:51Speaker 1: five hundred thousand and a million times each year. According
- 30:54Speaker 1: to the Democrats, they take the guns away from all
- 30:57Speaker 1: of them and just let the criminals be armed. And
- 30:59Speaker 1: you see the suffering, the chaos, the tragedy that plays
- 31:06Speaker 1: out in Chicago every day and every week and every
- 31:09Speaker 1: month and every year because of those misguided policies. I'll
- 31:13Speaker 1: also note, you know, Pritzker says, well the sheriff. The
- 31:18Speaker 1: sheriffs took an oath. Yes they did, but they didn't
- 31:21Speaker 1: take an oath to obey the Democratic kingpin boss hog,
- 31:27Speaker 1: who sits there and decrees you shall obey my orders.
- 31:31Speaker 1: They took an oath to defend and protect the Constitution.
- 31:34Speaker 1: And I believe these Illinois laws are going to be
- 31:36Speaker 1: struck down. The courts are not going to let him stand.
- 31:40Speaker 1: But the Democrats don't care. And by the way, one
- 31:44Speaker 1: of the strategies of gun confiscation law abiding people, as
- 31:49Speaker 1: I said, abide by the law. They want to confiscate
- 31:52Speaker 1: as many firearms as they can. By the way, they
- 31:54Speaker 1: also want to turn into felons as many gun owners
- 31:58Speaker 1: as they can, because that's one way of confiscating them
- 32:01Speaker 1: and taking away their rights. You know, when the courts
- 32:05Speaker 1: began striking down Joe Biden's illegal COVID vaccine mandates. When
- 32:09Speaker 1: he was trying to force employers large employers to fire
- 32:13Speaker 1: their employees who didn't get a COVID vaccine. The court
- 32:15Speaker 1: struck it down, and the White House said, well, you
- 32:18Speaker 1: should comply with it anyway, even though it's been enjoined,
- 32:21Speaker 1: even though it's not enforce you should comply anyway. That's
- 32:25Speaker 1: their view on guns. Anyway, we will use power. You
- 32:29Speaker 1: must obey and listen. The Democrat view of politics is
- 32:36Speaker 1: they use government power to punish their enemies and reward
- 32:41Speaker 1: their friends. So they want to go after their enemies.
- 32:43Speaker 1: If you believe in free speech, if you believe in
- 32:46Speaker 1: religious liberty, if you believe in the Second Amendment, if
- 32:48Speaker 1: you believe in free enterprise, they consider you an enemy.
- 32:52Speaker 1: They want to punish you. They want to make your
- 32:54Speaker 1: life difficult. They want to crush you into submission. On
- 32:57Speaker 1: the other hand, if you're a Democrat oboist, if you
- 33:00Speaker 1: make money on all of these different scams dealing with
- 33:04Speaker 1: the federal government, they want to make you rich. They
- 33:06Speaker 1: want to shovel cash into your pocket. And that fundamentally
- 33:11Speaker 1: is the corruption that's at the heart of today's Democrat party.
- 33:16Speaker 1: I want to ask you a practical question from a
- 33:18Speaker 1: legislative standpoint center because there are a lot of second
- 33:21Speaker 1: amend advocates gun owners that are concerned about two aspects
- 33:26Speaker 1: of this. And yes, we have the court system that
- 33:28Speaker 1: I believe is going to strike this down in Illinois,
- 33:30Speaker 1: but Democrats clearly are trying to figure around workarounds to
- 33:33Speaker 1: take away our rights. There are two things that concern
- 33:36Speaker 1: many gun owners, and I know you've heard about this
- 33:38Speaker 1: a lot. One is this gun registry aspect of that,
- 33:43Speaker 1: and that's what they're obviously trying to do in Illinois.
- 33:46Speaker 1: The second is government monitoring. We talked about this, I
- 33:50Speaker 1: think on this podcast couple months ago when banks we're
- 33:54Speaker 1: recording transactions and the White House is wanting this for
- 33:57Speaker 1: gun stores and places to kind of monit tour and
- 34:00Speaker 1: then see if you were buying what they believed was
- 34:03Speaker 1: too much AMMO or too many guns or too many transactions. Look,
- 34:07Speaker 1: I own a gun store and we've had banks and
- 34:10Speaker 1: credit card processing companies that have actually just said we're
- 34:13Speaker 1: not working with you, even though you're selling the most
- 34:16Speaker 1: regulated industry by the government. We have multiple layers of
- 34:20Speaker 1: regulations on this industry. And they've also said, you know,
- 34:24Speaker 1: not only are we're not going to do it, we're
- 34:25Speaker 1: going to try to basically use that to put you
- 34:27Speaker 1: out of business. And people are terrified of the government
- 34:30Speaker 1: monitoring their transactions. So number one, is there anything that
- 34:34Speaker 1: you guys can do to make that illegal? And second
- 34:39Speaker 1: of all, is there any type of legislation that could
- 34:41Speaker 1: come about that says you cannot have gun registries in
- 34:44Speaker 1: this country? So yes, there is. And in the Senate,
- 34:49Speaker 1: I've been leading the fight against a gun registry and
- 34:52Speaker 1: in defense of the Second Amendment for the entire time
- 34:54Speaker 1: i've been there. And listen, the Second Amendment I believe
- 34:58Speaker 1: passionately in the Constitution. As you know that my second
- 35:03Speaker 1: book that I wrote was One Vote Away, How a
- 35:06Speaker 1: single Supreme Court seat can Change History. And there's an
- 35:09Speaker 1: entire chapter in One Vote Away that talks about the
- 35:12Speaker 1: Heller case where the Supreme Court upheld and first clarified
- 35:17Speaker 1: the individual right to keep in a bare arms in
- 35:19Speaker 1: the Second Amendment. And I led the states. I was
- 35:23Speaker 1: Solicitor General of Texas, and I led the states in
- 35:26Speaker 1: defense of the Second Amendment in Heller, which is why
- 35:30Speaker 1: the NRA named me as a champion defending the Second Amendment.
- 35:35Speaker 1: Because that victory. That victory and the subsequent case of
- 35:39Speaker 1: McDonald is a big part of why this Illinois law
- 35:42Speaker 1: is likely to be struck down protecting those rights. When
- 35:47Speaker 1: I first got to the Senate, one of the very
- 35:51Speaker 1: first things that happened, I was elected in twenty twelve.
- 35:54Speaker 1: I arrived in twenty thirteen. Tragically, we saw the shooting
- 35:57Speaker 1: in Newtown, Connecticut, where that monster, that animal murdered little children.
- 36:01Speaker 1: You and I are both parents, and I think there
- 36:03Speaker 1: is nothing more evil on planet Earth than a monster
- 36:06Speaker 1: who hurts little kids. And the Democrats were exultant. Obama
- 36:12Speaker 1: just been reelected. They were convinced they were going to
- 36:14Speaker 1: pass gun control. And I was a brand new baby
- 36:17Speaker 1: freshman senator. I was still in my basement office. I
- 36:20Speaker 1: didn't know where the men's room was, but I said,
- 36:22Speaker 1: I'll be damned if I let this Congress pass anything
- 36:26Speaker 1: that takes away the Second Amendment rights of Texans and Americans.
- 36:29Speaker 1: And I led the fight just fresh into the Senate,
- 36:33Speaker 1: and we defeated those bills. On the floor of the Senate.
- 36:35Speaker 1: I authored the lead alternative to those bills. That was
- 36:38Speaker 1: a law enforcement alternative that focused on criminals and fugitives
- 36:42Speaker 1: and those with serious mental illness, and putting them in jail,
- 36:45Speaker 1: and taking their firearms away, and securing schools, all of those.
- 36:50Speaker 1: There's a lot we can do to make people safer.
- 36:53Speaker 1: The Democrats don't want that. They want to disarm you,
- 36:57Speaker 1: the law abiding citizen. And one of the most central
- 37:00Speaker 1: elements you rightly focused on is a gun registry. And listen,
- 37:03Speaker 1: for people who don't follow these issues, a registry can
- 37:08Speaker 1: sound innocuous. One of the arguments they like to give is, look,
- 37:13Speaker 1: you need a license to drive a car, You ought
- 37:15Speaker 1: to have a license to own a firearm. And just
- 37:18Speaker 1: you know, you got to register a car, you should
- 37:20Speaker 1: register a firearm. Well, the difference is there are not
- 37:26Speaker 1: yet a group of political ideologs and zealots that want
- 37:30Speaker 1: to confiscate our automobiles. By the way, that may be coming.
- 37:33Speaker 1: They want to confiscate our gas stoves. Automobile confiscation may
- 37:37Speaker 1: be coming, but we're not there yet. But with firearms.
- 37:43Speaker 1: Pritzker wants to take him, Joe Biden wants to take him,
- 37:47Speaker 1: Diane Feinstein wants to take him. Gavin Newsom wants to
- 37:51Speaker 1: take him. They want to come in and forcibly remove
- 37:54Speaker 1: your firearms. And so the entire purpose of a registry
- 37:57Speaker 1: is create a list. Okay, Ben Ferguson had the following firearms. Okay,
- 38:03Speaker 1: the local law enforcement shows up and says, mister Ferguson,
- 38:07Speaker 1: hand over every gun on this list, and if you
- 38:09Speaker 1: don't hand it up, we're putting you in handcuffs and
- 38:10Speaker 1: taking you away. That's why they want a registry. And
- 38:14Speaker 1: so there are already elements of current federal law that prohibit,
- 38:19Speaker 1: for example, the ATF When you go and buy a
- 38:23Speaker 1: gun at a firearms dealer, you own a gun store,
- 38:25Speaker 1: so you're a firearms dealer. You got to fill out
- 38:27Speaker 1: a background check, and as you know, federal law requires
- 38:31Speaker 1: you run that background check. But after it comes back clean,
- 38:34Speaker 1: you're required to destroy those records. And the reason federal
- 38:38Speaker 1: law requires that is because they don't want a registry
- 38:42Speaker 1: that becomes a list for the gun grabbers to disarm America.
- 38:46Speaker 1: That is their objective and it is fortunately it's unconstitutional.
- 38:52Speaker 1: But as the Democrat Party's gotten more and more extreme,
- 38:57Speaker 1: they're not even bothering to hide their objective that they
- 39:00Speaker 1: want to disarm you and mind you. At the same
- 39:04Speaker 1: time they want to let out of jail, the violent
- 39:06Speaker 1: criminals who are committing these acts. I mean, think of
- 39:09Speaker 1: the combination prevent your ability to defend your home and
- 39:14Speaker 1: your kids. But at the same time, these are the
- 39:16Speaker 1: people that want to abolish the police and that are
- 39:18Speaker 1: supporting George Soros DA's that let violent criminals out of
- 39:22Speaker 1: prison who turn around and commit more crimes. You and
- 39:24Speaker 1: I live in Houston, Texas. In Houston, we've got cashless
- 39:28Speaker 1: bail policies that are releasing murderers who turn around and
- 39:32Speaker 1: murder more people. I don't understand. I really do struggle
- 39:39Speaker 1: with the reason and logic that says, disarm someone who's
- 39:46Speaker 1: never committed a crime, who wants a firearm to protect
- 39:49Speaker 1: their children, but at the same time release someone who's
- 39:54Speaker 1: already murdered somebody and is likely to murder somebody else.
- 39:57Speaker 1: That's not logic, that's emotion, that's rage. That's ideology disconnected
- 40:06Speaker 1: from real life. And it is a tiny sliver of America.
- 40:11Speaker 1: But what's bizarre is the Democrat Party has handed their
- 40:14Speaker 1: policy on these issues over to that tiny sliver of
- 40:17Speaker 1: America and embraced every bit of it. I say to
- 40:20Speaker 1: you all the time, if you think these types of
- 40:22Speaker 1: things cannot happen to America, or you think that it
- 40:25Speaker 1: will never happen. Call anybody you know in Canada right now,
- 40:29Speaker 1: ask them what rights they have with guns, because Trudeau
- 40:31Speaker 1: just took them all away because of truck drivers that
- 40:35Speaker 1: stood up to the vaccine mandate. It scared the elitist
- 40:39Speaker 1: enough in Canada, those truck drivers banning together. They then said,
- 40:43Speaker 1: here's our response to this, let's get rid of the guns.
- 40:46Speaker 1: And they did it successfully there, and that is a
- 40:49Speaker 1: reminder of how quickly it can happen if you're not
- 40:51Speaker 1: paying attention. Center. I want to end on a positive note,
- 40:54Speaker 1: and I think we should do this more often when
- 40:57Speaker 1: we have victories and the conservative movement. You and I
- 41:00Speaker 1: just had dinner recently in DC with some of those
- 41:04Speaker 1: that were fighting for a lot of the deals that
- 41:08Speaker 1: were done to basically have strong stunt conservatives sit on
- 41:12Speaker 1: certain committees. Your former chief of staff, Congressen from Texas,
- 41:17Speaker 1: Chip Roy, was instrumental in working this deal. We now
- 41:21Speaker 1: are seeing the fruits of that fight over the speakership
- 41:24Speaker 1: with Kevin McCarthy, and the payoff is massive. Tell people
- 41:29Speaker 1: about how good this is. Well, we're starting to get
- 41:32Speaker 1: the announcement of who is on various committees. And one
- 41:34Speaker 1: of the things we talked about at great length when
- 41:36Speaker 1: the media was freaking out, when Democrats were freaking out,
- 41:40Speaker 1: and even some Republicans, particularly those kind of at home
- 41:43Speaker 1: that weren't following it closely, we're freaking out that the
- 41:46Speaker 1: speaker fight was a disaster. It was a disgrace, that
- 41:50Speaker 1: it was a catastrophe. Look, it was the democratic process.
- 41:54Speaker 1: We spent four days with the House of Representatives debating
- 41:56Speaker 1: who EICH leaders should be and debating, more importantly, how
- 42:00Speaker 1: it should lead. And the consequence, those that stood up
- 42:04Speaker 1: and led that fight extracted major concessions, and those concessions
- 42:09Speaker 1: are going to change how the House majority is able
- 42:13Speaker 1: to govern and able to fight bad policies from Biden
- 42:17Speaker 1: the Democrats over the next two years. And it was
- 42:19Speaker 1: a massive victory if you care about having Republicans actually
- 42:24Speaker 1: stand up and fight for what they say they believe,
- 42:27Speaker 1: that fight over the speakership was massively important. Now, in
- 42:30Speaker 1: the middle of the fight, one of the things that
- 42:32Speaker 1: shifted the battle. You know, early on there were a
- 42:35Speaker 1: handful of rebels and it wasn't clear how many we're
- 42:37Speaker 1: going to vote against Kevin McCarthy as speaker, and they
- 42:41Speaker 1: had a meeting of the House Republican Conference and one
- 42:44Speaker 1: of McCarthy's lieutenants stood up and threatened the rebels, if
- 42:49Speaker 1: you dare vote against him, you'll be stripped of your committees. Now,
- 42:53Speaker 1: that's the kind of high handed, haughty authoritarianism that you
- 42:58Speaker 1: expect of Nancy Pelosi, but it's not what you should
- 43:01Speaker 1: expect of Republican leadership. And I'll tell you that pissed
- 43:05Speaker 1: a lot of members off, and I think it played
- 43:07Speaker 1: a big part. We could easily have seen on the
- 43:11Speaker 1: first vote maybe ten or twelve no votes. Instead we
- 43:14Speaker 1: saw nineteen on the first vote, and I think that
- 43:17Speaker 1: threat may well have doubled or nearly doubled the number
- 43:21Speaker 1: of no votes. Well, turned out that threat wasn't carried through.
- 43:25Speaker 1: And we're starting to get who's going to be on
- 43:27Speaker 1: the various committees, and one in particular that is quite
- 43:32Speaker 1: notable is the House Oversight Committee, and the members of
- 43:38Speaker 1: that committee will be Kelly Armstrong from North Dakota, Lauren
- 43:41Speaker 1: Bobert from Colorado, Tim Burkett from Tennessee, Eric Burlison from Missouri,
- 43:48Speaker 1: Byron Donalds from Florida, Chuck Edwards from North Carolina, Russell
- 43:51Speaker 1: Fry from South Carolina, Marjorie Taylor Green from Georgia, Paul
- 43:55Speaker 1: Gossar from Arizona, Nick Langworthy from New York, Jacolt Turner
- 44:00Speaker 1: from Kansas, Gary Palmer from Alabama on a Paulina Luna
- 44:03Speaker 1: from Florida, Scott Perry from Pennsylvania, Lisa McLain from Michigan,
- 44:07Speaker 1: Pete Sessions from Texas, and William Tibbins from South Carolina.
- 44:11Speaker 1: Now what's striking is that a whole bunch of those
- 44:15Speaker 1: are rock rib conservatives who were among the rebels, who
- 44:19Speaker 1: were among the people that were told you will be
- 44:22Speaker 1: in Siberia, you will get no committees. And they've been
- 44:24Speaker 1: put now on the Oversight Committee with the ability to
- 44:28Speaker 1: go after the abuse of power from Joe Biden in
- 44:31Speaker 1: this administration. That's what we need as principled fighters. I
- 44:35Speaker 1: think this is a great, great development. I think we
- 44:38Speaker 1: will see more. We will see strong conservatives in significantly
- 44:43Speaker 1: greater positions, able to leverage their position to fight conservative
- 44:49Speaker 1: battles and hopefully win conservative victories for the American people.
- 44:54Speaker 1: And I think standing and fighting for issues and principles
- 44:58Speaker 1: that matter is also how we win in twenty four
- 45:02Speaker 1: It's how we win. It's how we win the Senate back,
- 45:05Speaker 1: It's how we hold this House and grow our House majority.
- 45:07Speaker 1: It's how we win the White House back. And so
- 45:10Speaker 1: this is a good illustration, you know, when people said, gosh,
- 45:16Speaker 1: why have this fight? And look, when you and I
- 45:18Speaker 1: were having dinner in DC, I pulled out my phone
- 45:20Speaker 1: and I read to you texts from Republican donors, some
- 45:24Speaker 1: of whom are friends of mine, who were who were
- 45:25Speaker 1: I rate, why is this fight happening? And listen, I
- 45:29Speaker 1: understand if you're a business guy and you're at home
- 45:32Speaker 1: and you turn on the news and they just say
- 45:35Speaker 1: chaos and chaos and madness with the House Republicans, you're
- 45:42Speaker 1: kind of annoyed and you're kind of embarrassed if you
- 45:44Speaker 1: don't understand why that fight is happening. And I think
- 45:49Speaker 1: we're seeing the very real and tangible results of standing
- 45:54Speaker 1: and fighting. If you want conservative leadership, you've got to
- 45:58Speaker 1: stand up and have a conservative conference that demands it.
- 46:01Speaker 1: And this is a big step forward. Look, I just
- 46:04Speaker 1: had to say, sitting at the dinner that night, and
- 46:06Speaker 1: this was me looking from the outside. It was fun
- 46:09Speaker 1: to see you, and I think how proud you were
- 46:13Speaker 1: of someone that you know well, Chip Roy, and the
- 46:15Speaker 1: way that he was able to orchestrate that deal and
- 46:18Speaker 1: communicate with the Speaker and to make sure that these
- 46:22Speaker 1: principles had another day to fight and live and have
- 46:26Speaker 1: people on these committees. It was just cool to see,
- 46:29Speaker 1: as I put it, the good guys win here. And
- 46:32Speaker 1: when we have these moments, we should celebrate them and
- 46:35Speaker 1: remind people that this is why we fight so hard.
- 46:38Speaker 1: This is why you fight so hard. This is why
- 46:40Speaker 1: you do the bus tour in a year when you're
- 46:43Speaker 1: not up for reelection and you try to get principal
- 46:46Speaker 1: conservatives into Congress. And these are those moments that we
- 46:50Speaker 1: should enjoy and take a moment and say it was
- 46:53Speaker 1: worth it, and to the donors, it's worth it, and
- 46:56Speaker 1: to finding tough, strong principal conservative and running them and
- 47:01Speaker 1: backing them, it's worth it and it paid off big
- 47:04Speaker 1: And I just think it's a big moment that we
- 47:06Speaker 1: should all enjoy fully agree center. I appreciate it as always.
