- 0:15Speaker 1: million bucks things in the stubs. Good listening to mother, Stay,
- 0:38Speaker 1: I don't join join me. You got turn you're going
- 1:10Speaker 1: to do? You gotta turn to turn them out. Turn.
- 1:43Speaker 1: You haven't got to turn out to turn turn the
- 1:46Speaker 1: water the water go. Come come on your thad uh huh.
- 2:02Speaker 1: I shall will a good morning everybody. You are listening
- 2:06Speaker 1: to the voice, come on dig me now. One and
- 2:08Speaker 1: all is Steve Harvey. Got a radio show. Okay, today
- 2:13Speaker 1: is simple. I want to tell you. I want to
- 2:18Speaker 1: just talk to you about effort today. Just about effort.
- 2:25Speaker 1: You know, it's it's it's it's a word that people
- 2:28Speaker 1: use to describe sometimes trying. But what I found out
- 2:34Speaker 1: about trying is trying is just a noble way of
- 2:37Speaker 1: saying you didn't get it done. I tried when and
- 2:43Speaker 1: then everybody go, well, he tried, that was the best.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Well that's that's not exactly true though, that that's that's
- 2:51Speaker 1: not exactly true. You are and I want to talk
- 2:54Speaker 1: to you about that because I don't want you to
- 2:57Speaker 1: be one of the people who just tried. See trying,
- 3:03Speaker 1: I mean, I gotta tell you to attempt something. You're
- 3:06Speaker 1: gonna have to first try, but I want you to
- 3:09Speaker 1: change your mindset from trying to getting it done. See,
- 3:15Speaker 1: that's a big difference. I'm really more apt to listen
- 3:19Speaker 1: to the person that says to me, I'm gonna get
- 3:21Speaker 1: it done. I'm gonna try. What try does is it
- 3:25Speaker 1: allows you to fail. It's the person that has the
- 3:28Speaker 1: mindset that I'm gonna get it done. Is the person
- 3:31Speaker 1: who changes the complexion of things. I'm gonna get it done.
- 3:36Speaker 1: It's very different than I'm gonna try. You know. Look, man,
- 3:40Speaker 1: I know, I know this sounds a little harsh, but
- 3:43Speaker 1: you gotta stop feeding yourself these little old wise sayings
- 3:47Speaker 1: that ain't it was a valiant tribe. Hey man, you
- 3:51Speaker 1: talk to anybody that took second place in the super
- 3:55Speaker 1: Bowl and see how they feel about their valiant try.
- 3:58Speaker 1: The only way to gain God's real blessings is you
- 4:05Speaker 1: have to try something. Steve your backpedaling, now, listen to
- 4:10Speaker 1: me close. You have to put forth an effort to
- 4:18Speaker 1: allow God to put his finger on something to bless
- 4:23Speaker 1: on your behalf. You must start to attempt now, insane
- 4:30Speaker 1: getting it done and I'm gonna try. That's a difference
- 4:33Speaker 1: of two different faiths to me that I'm just talking
- 4:37Speaker 1: about me. Now, you may be different, so I can't.
- 4:39Speaker 1: I can't say this about you, but I can't say
- 4:42Speaker 1: this about me. If I say I'm gonna get it done,
- 4:47Speaker 1: I have a lot of faith in it. I am
- 4:52Speaker 1: going to get it done because I just don't see
- 4:55Speaker 1: failure as an option. A lot of times now, if
- 4:58Speaker 1: somebody says to me, like the Olympic team invited me
- 5:02Speaker 1: out to curl one day, which is throw these stones
- 5:05Speaker 1: on the ice. If you're not familiar with it's very simple,
- 5:09Speaker 1: and so I said, man, I'd like to give that
- 5:13Speaker 1: a try. I went in full well knowing I may
- 5:19Speaker 1: not come away from this little curling lesson as a
- 5:24Speaker 1: person who could make the Olympic team. I just wanted
- 5:27Speaker 1: to try it because I thought it looked cool and
- 5:29Speaker 1: I always wanted to get it done. Well. I failed twice.
- 5:33Speaker 1: I threw a stone completely into the other lane. I
- 5:37Speaker 1: lost that little ice shoe. It shot out under me.
- 5:41Speaker 1: But you know what, I kept trying though. I kept
- 5:45Speaker 1: trying until I got four of them stones in that
- 5:48Speaker 1: circle right where I ain't. But now had I give
- 5:52Speaker 1: it up after I failed, after I threw that stone
- 5:56Speaker 1: in the other lane, after I shot my shoe down
- 5:59Speaker 1: all the way to the bottom side, the little ice
- 6:01Speaker 1: shoe they give you, I never would did it. But
- 6:04Speaker 1: because I was trying, something got me together a little
- 6:09Speaker 1: bit because of my effort, and it caused me not
- 6:11Speaker 1: to fall the next time, not to throw it in
- 6:14Speaker 1: the other lane, not to shoot my shoe to the
- 6:16Speaker 1: back of the wall. All of a sudden, my trying
- 6:20Speaker 1: became something. Now had I stayed out there and it
- 6:24Speaker 1: wasn't so cold, and I went back week after week
- 6:27Speaker 1: after week after week, I promise you I could get
- 6:32Speaker 1: it done. I could at least know how to compete
- 6:36Speaker 1: in a game of curling. Might not be the best.
- 6:39Speaker 1: I might not win the championship, but I could have
- 6:42Speaker 1: got it done to the point where I could have
- 6:44Speaker 1: competed in the game of curling. So sometimes if you're
- 6:47Speaker 1: scared to say I'm gonna get it done, just go
- 6:50Speaker 1: out there and get started. You know, learn from every
- 6:54Speaker 1: attempt that you make. See, don't quit writing yourself off
- 6:58Speaker 1: as a failure every time something don't go right. And
- 7:01Speaker 1: when I failed on that ice. I could have said, Man,
- 7:03Speaker 1: I can't curl, but hold up, man, I'm watching four
- 7:06Speaker 1: other women out here curl, four other dudes out here curling,
- 7:09Speaker 1: little kids out here curling. Hold up, Pardner, You know, man,
- 7:12Speaker 1: So I learned when I threw that stone on the
- 7:15Speaker 1: other ice, when I when I fail, when when my
- 7:18Speaker 1: shoe shot off, I learned from every attempt a little
- 7:22Speaker 1: bit more about it. And then I said to myself
- 7:27Speaker 1: at one point time, man, I'm gonna get this stone
- 7:29Speaker 1: in that circle. I'm gonna get this stone in this circle.
- 7:34Speaker 1: And guess what I got it done. Now what you're
- 7:38Speaker 1: saying to me, Steve, I'm saying to you that you
- 7:40Speaker 1: gotta get started, That you gotta put forth an effort.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Give God something to bless. Oh God, bless me, Oh God,
- 7:47Speaker 1: bless me. Bless you? What? Bless you? Where? Bless you? How?
- 7:53Speaker 1: Stop basing your results on what you're thinking. You gotta
- 7:56Speaker 1: think higher. You get God in your life, man, He
- 7:59Speaker 1: allows you to in higher, bigger, better more. I'm sitting
- 8:04Speaker 1: up in my debt. I came up with a plan
- 8:06Speaker 1: to get out of debt in five years. I came
- 8:08Speaker 1: up with this plan right I was sitting up and
- 8:11Speaker 1: I was tripping on it. Now I said, wait a minute, man,
- 8:13Speaker 1: hold up, this is what I came up with. I said,
- 8:17Speaker 1: God created heaven and earth, all of it, the mountains,
- 8:23Speaker 1: the sky, the valleys, the oceans, trees, the birds, the
- 8:29Speaker 1: Indian Ocean, all of it, made all of it in
- 8:32Speaker 1: six days, and then he rested on the seventh. So
- 8:38Speaker 1: why am I taking to God the five year plan?
- 8:43Speaker 1: If he can create heaven and Earth in six days,
- 8:47Speaker 1: why am I walking in there talking about helped me
- 8:50Speaker 1: in five years? How is it gonna take God five
- 8:54Speaker 1: years to getting me out of debt? And he made
- 8:58Speaker 1: heaven and Earth in six days? The math hill, Man,
- 9:01Speaker 1: I ain't that big. You ain't that big. You ain't
- 9:05Speaker 1: in that much trouble. I ain't in that much trouble. See,
- 9:09Speaker 1: God got a way of showing you some things, man,
- 9:11Speaker 1: but it's gonna take some faith, and faith gonna take
- 9:14Speaker 1: some effort on your part. Man, Get out and do something. Man,
- 9:17Speaker 1: you God will bless you a little bit and give
- 9:20Speaker 1: you a little bit more courage. And then all them
- 9:22Speaker 1: attempts you making is gonna and all this so I'll try,
- 9:25Speaker 1: you know what that turn into. I'm gonna get it done,
- 9:28Speaker 1: and at the end of the day, that's what you
- 9:30Speaker 1: have to do, because trying to pay your rent and
- 9:33Speaker 1: not paying your rent, it's two different things. You can
- 9:37Speaker 1: try to play or pay your rent, or you can
- 9:39Speaker 1: get it done. Now, how long you think you're gonna
- 9:41Speaker 1: stay in that house trying. You got to go with
- 9:43Speaker 1: the mindset of getting it done. And if you can
- 9:46Speaker 1: put some stuff out there and give God a chance
- 9:48Speaker 1: to put his finger on it and bless it for
- 9:50Speaker 1: you the most stuff he can do for you. Quit
- 9:52Speaker 1: looking around what everybody else gotten. Gonna get some of
- 9:54Speaker 1: it for yourself. Okay, all right, you're listening to show, ladies,
- 10:02Speaker 1: and it is my pleasure, my honor, my sheer joy
- 10:09Speaker 1: to bring to you the Steve Harvey Morning Show key
- 10:14Speaker 1: word in there morning. You know what that is. It's
- 10:18Speaker 1: another day, another opportunity, another chance to move a little
- 10:23Speaker 1: bit closer to your goals and your dreams and your aspirations.
- 10:26Speaker 1: That's how you gotta look at it. Man. Somebody told
- 10:29Speaker 1: me one day, man, you're getting old. Hey, brother, old
- 10:32Speaker 1: is the goal. You know. You can stop the aging
- 10:34Speaker 1: process whenever you want to. Hello, man, I'm so sick
- 10:38Speaker 1: of these birthdays. Okay, well you know there will be
- 10:41Speaker 1: one coming that you won't make. So now I want
- 10:45Speaker 1: to see all of mine. Ask how I look at
- 10:48Speaker 1: the morning? What a great day? Shirley start Berry calling
- 10:50Speaker 1: for real mouth or the South Junior, Nephew, Tommy, Yeah, Monday.
- 11:00Speaker 1: What it means Christmas season? Yeah? Yeah? Something up? Yeah?
- 11:06Speaker 1: Go ahead and let me let me ask you something
- 11:07Speaker 1: up because this is this is gonna be happening this
- 11:09Speaker 1: a holiday season? Uh huh. What we're supposed to tell people, like,
- 11:12Speaker 1: if you're getting bad gifts, you have to take them
- 11:15Speaker 1: or you want to just tell people what you don't want. Well,
- 11:17Speaker 1: you can't do that because you gotta be kind. You
- 11:21Speaker 1: have to accept bad gifts. Junior, you can't be rude
- 11:24Speaker 1: and appear ungrateful. But we don't want it. We don't
- 11:28Speaker 1: want it. You know what I gonna ask, Gill hearing unkind?
- 11:34Speaker 1: You know you don't want your car no more? Don't
- 11:37Speaker 1: you want a new car? Yeah? Okay, well you know,
- 11:44Speaker 1: but I talk too bad about the one you got?
- 11:48Speaker 1: You know? Hello, all right, I got hello. Hello. You
- 11:51Speaker 1: want some old loving in your life, but you ain't
- 11:53Speaker 1: getting it. What you're gonna do, You're gonna turn it
- 11:57Speaker 1: down when it do. Get something you want to do,
- 12:01Speaker 1: take what you give it to me? What I want it?
- 12:04Speaker 1: And I don't want it now, okay, okay, so you can,
- 12:09Speaker 1: so you can, you can, you can look at it
- 12:10Speaker 1: a couple of ways. So I say, just going to
- 12:13Speaker 1: take the gift and then go make all the money
- 12:16Speaker 1: you won't so you can, you know, buy whatever you want.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Way I did. I just said I'm making money, buy
- 12:22Speaker 1: what I want. So when you know, open Christmas Gifford.
- 12:24Speaker 1: That ain't nothing. That's cool, it's cool and a problem.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Do you have to act like you like it? That's
- 12:30Speaker 1: what you do? Oh? Hell yeah? Oh hell yeah? What
- 12:36Speaker 1: do you do? Wow? Fake coming from you? Wow? Looking
- 12:45Speaker 1: at not buying it? That's man? Wow? Wow? Better hear
- 12:53Speaker 1: what I don't like? Though. I don't like you ever
- 12:55Speaker 1: had somebody to give you something and then ask you
- 12:58Speaker 1: about it all the damn time? You like that, which
- 13:02Speaker 1: we call it I gave you? Boy? How you like?
- 13:06Speaker 1: I'm trying to tell you, man that that's that's hard.
- 13:11Speaker 1: It's hard getting something you don't want. But just play
- 13:14Speaker 1: it off, just act like it's all good. Wow. Wow,
- 13:23Speaker 1: How did you know I wanted this flavored coffee pod.
- 13:27Speaker 1: I got that one year. I know you gotta cry,
- 13:31Speaker 1: so I bought you some coffee pods. Oh no, damn
- 13:35Speaker 1: coffee pods. All right? Coming up at thirty two minutes
- 13:38Speaker 1: after the hour, we'll hear from the nepew if he
- 13:41Speaker 1: runs that prank back right after this. You're listening show,
- 13:47Speaker 1: all right, it's time to start your money off with.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Run that prank back? What you got? Can't I borrow
- 13:53Speaker 1: your freezer? Can I borrow your freezers? Allied Equipment? Does?
- 14:03Speaker 1: Is Tree not? How I can I help you? I'm
- 14:05Speaker 1: trying to reach Dale. Dell's the manager, right, Yes, Dale
- 14:08Speaker 1: is the manager. How can I help you? Okay? Is
- 14:11Speaker 1: Dale available? Is he there? Keep actually with a customer?
- 14:15Speaker 1: Is there something that I can help you with? Or
- 14:17Speaker 1: pass along the message? Okay? So y'all Allied Equipment? What what? What?
- 14:21Speaker 1: What exactly do y'all have there? I'm gonna make sure
- 14:23Speaker 1: I'm calling the right place. Oh yes, of course. Um
- 14:26Speaker 1: it's a restaurant supply company. Um, so we have you know,
- 14:30Speaker 1: everything from freezers, refrigerators to your basic restaurant supplies. Okay,
- 14:37Speaker 1: y'all do have freezers? Because that's what I'm trying to do.
- 14:40Speaker 1: What I'm trying to do is, uh, I've run out
- 14:43Speaker 1: of freezer space, and I'm trying to see if possibly,
- 14:47Speaker 1: you know, my back is up against the wall right now.
- 14:49Speaker 1: I'm trying to see if I can possibly uh put
- 14:52Speaker 1: something in one of you as freezers for a couple
- 14:54Speaker 1: of days until I get freed up on this end.
- 14:57Speaker 1: So that's why I wanted to see if you guys
- 15:00Speaker 1: would allow me to do something like that. Is that possible? Um, sir, Sorry,
- 15:04Speaker 1: I'm a little confused. I don't want to buy a freezer.
- 15:07Speaker 1: You just want to put something in one of our freezers.
- 15:11Speaker 1: I just want to put somebody there for a couple
- 15:12Speaker 1: of days because I have a freezer, but mine is
- 15:15Speaker 1: completely full, and I'm trying to see if I can
- 15:18Speaker 1: put something in you as freezer until, you know, for
- 15:20Speaker 1: a couple of days, and then I'll come back and
- 15:22Speaker 1: get it. Um. I'm so sorry. We don't do that.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Um Uh. If you wanted to to come by and
- 15:30Speaker 1: purchase a freezer, I'm happy to help you, but we
- 15:33Speaker 1: don't allow outside vendors to put things in our freezers.
- 15:37Speaker 1: That's that's I'm sorry. Okay. Well, I was told if
- 15:41Speaker 1: Dale would hear what was going on, he might he
- 15:43Speaker 1: might be able to help me though. Okay, Um, you
- 15:46Speaker 1: said your name was Kevin. Okay, Kevin, if you just
- 15:49Speaker 1: hold a moment, I will see if Dale can take
- 15:51Speaker 1: your call. That's that's what the hell I asked in
- 15:53Speaker 1: the first place. Okay, then hold on a moment, please,
- 15:59Speaker 1: This is GLA can't help you. Hey, how you doing this?
- 16:02Speaker 1: Is uh? Kevin Kevin, And I've been on the phone
- 16:06Speaker 1: with uh you the sales persons. But let me tell
- 16:09Speaker 1: you what I'm trying to do. Man. I'm um, I'm
- 16:12Speaker 1: trying to use your You have a lot of walk
- 16:15Speaker 1: in freezers that you all sell, right right? We do? Yeah? Okay,
- 16:19Speaker 1: So what I got is my freezer is completely full, man,
- 16:25Speaker 1: and I'm my back is against the wall. You can't
- 16:29Speaker 1: record highly recommend it to give you a call. Is
- 16:31Speaker 1: it possible for me to um, I need to keep
- 16:34Speaker 1: something frozen for a few days. Uh, it's only gonna
- 16:38Speaker 1: be like two days. My my freezer will be, uh
- 16:41Speaker 1: you know, half empty in a couple of days. I
- 16:43Speaker 1: just want to just need some somebody to just kind
- 16:45Speaker 1: of help me out here. Is it possible for me
- 16:47Speaker 1: to bring something over there? To keep it frozen for
- 16:50Speaker 1: a couple of days. You know what we got at
- 16:52Speaker 1: the show room, you know, with different displays so you
- 16:55Speaker 1: can see what different kind of refrigerators look in your restaurants.
- 16:58Speaker 1: But I mean, if you want to come and take
- 17:00Speaker 1: look at one, I could have you in if you're
- 17:02Speaker 1: interested in buying one. But no, no, it's there for show,
- 17:05Speaker 1: you know, right right? No, No, I have a cooler,
- 17:09Speaker 1: I have a freeze already. But like I say, line
- 17:11Speaker 1: is just full. In a couple of days it won't
- 17:13Speaker 1: be And I really got to get this this stuff
- 17:15Speaker 1: on frozen. Man, I I'm be in trouble. Like I said,
- 17:19Speaker 1: I'm I'm my back against the wall over here. Man.
- 17:22Speaker 1: And um, I can't remember who recommended you, but you
- 17:24Speaker 1: can't highly recommend it that you might be able to
- 17:26Speaker 1: show me a little love on this look. I guess
- 17:28Speaker 1: it comes back depends on what do you need? How much?
- 17:31Speaker 1: How much do you have that you need frozen? I
- 17:33Speaker 1: mean I don't even know what you Well, well, I
- 17:36Speaker 1: got um three bodies that I need to get um
- 17:40Speaker 1: to keep, you know, to keep frozen. Man. You know
- 17:42Speaker 1: we run the mortuary over here. This is bows body. Yeah,
- 17:46Speaker 1: we need three people bodies. Yeah, yeah, we got three
- 17:49Speaker 1: bodies that and like I said, my my freezer is full. Man.
- 17:53Speaker 1: But in a couple of days, you know, these bodies,
- 17:56Speaker 1: you know, the funerals would have happened, so we'll be
- 17:58Speaker 1: freed up, you know. But right now I got I
- 18:00Speaker 1: got three bodies coming in to day that I got
- 18:03Speaker 1: to get in the freezer. Are you crazy? Are you fat?
- 18:07Speaker 1: Damn mind? No? No, no, I'm dere serious. I'm dead
- 18:10Speaker 1: series bro. So I'm like I said, you can't highly
- 18:13Speaker 1: recommend it. You know what, I'm just trying to get
- 18:15Speaker 1: somebody to show me a little love. Man. You got
- 18:16Speaker 1: those freezes, you don't have nothing in them, you know,
- 18:19Speaker 1: I just need it for a couple of days. You
- 18:20Speaker 1: gotta be out of your mind. We're not talking about ice.
- 18:23Speaker 1: This isn't chicken wings or reports shoulder. He's a people.
- 18:27Speaker 1: You are out of your mind, man, But but listen
- 18:30Speaker 1: to me, then listen to what I'm gonna You understand
- 18:32Speaker 1: how serious is is I have to keep them frozen.
- 18:36Speaker 1: That's the reason why I'm calling. I'm needing your help, man. Yeah,
- 18:39Speaker 1: I understand that. Look, if you want to, I'll have
- 18:41Speaker 1: you come in to buy your own freezer. You can
- 18:43Speaker 1: put your own bodies in your own freezer. How might
- 18:46Speaker 1: the show off my shoulder room with frozen bodies and
- 18:49Speaker 1: the freezer. But just just don't just don't show that
- 18:52Speaker 1: one for a couple of days, you know what I'm saying,
- 18:54Speaker 1: don't just don't show it all well, just because you
- 18:57Speaker 1: know what? You know what here what we could do.
- 18:58Speaker 1: We could put the bodies in, just cover them up,
- 19:01Speaker 1: and people don't want to know what it is. Yeah,
- 19:03Speaker 1: and then I get a buyer that comes in and
- 19:04Speaker 1: the cover falls off it and I got a frozen
- 19:06Speaker 1: dead body and my freezer. Is that even legal? I
- 19:10Speaker 1: don't know. Man. All I'm saying is here's a deal. Man.
- 19:13Speaker 1: You can't highly recommended. They told me that you would
- 19:15Speaker 1: probably show me so love. I'm actually, you know, getting
- 19:19Speaker 1: ready to load up and come your way. Dude, you
- 19:22Speaker 1: keep those dead bodies away from my store. I'm telling
- 19:25Speaker 1: you right now, I can't hook you up on this one,
- 19:28Speaker 1: all right. I just can't do it, okay, But we
- 19:31Speaker 1: shouldn't load up and come that weight though. Man, So
- 19:33Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, it's I mean, what am
- 19:37Speaker 1: I supposed to do? I have no you know what

- 40:16Speaker 1: relationship a little bit further than hoping that she can
- 40:19Speaker 1: help you gain something because you're not a citizen. I
- 40:23Speaker 1: don't know aship, but you really ain't got no problem.
- 40:26Speaker 1: Let's take a long time to get citizenship. I'm gonna
- 40:28Speaker 1: just tell you that right now, so you might as
- 40:30Speaker 1: well just buck alone. End homie. No, you know, quick line,

- 40:53Speaker 1: you said. No, no, no, no, you have to you
- 40:56Speaker 1: have to ride the lie you currently told nineteen. But
- 41:02Speaker 1: it's no need in the future being nineteen, because nineteen
- 41:05Speaker 1: gets you nothing that eighteen year olds came. If you're eighteen,
- 41:08Speaker 1: you get the same thing nineteen year old. Let me
- 41:11Speaker 1: ask you this, what's wrong with telling her the truth?
- 41:14Speaker 1: What is wrong with that? Well, he was afraid that
- 41:17Speaker 1: because she was nineteen, she wouldn't want to date him
- 41:21Speaker 1: because he's eighteen, So he lied and said he was
- 41:24Speaker 1: nineteen two And make perfect sense to me. Don't cry
- 41:29Speaker 1: and now he really liked it. It's been a year
- 41:31Speaker 1: and he want to tell her the truth. He will
- 41:33Speaker 1: make the lies work, won't. I'm starting to question everything
- 41:37Speaker 1: you've ever told me, Steven. I don't give a day.
- 41:44Speaker 1: You've just been lying all this time, Sirlie. I'm not
- 41:47Speaker 1: married yet. You don't have to be. It has nothing
- 41:52Speaker 1: to do with that. And I'm not married to you.
- 41:54Speaker 1: That's not it at all. Well, but you know what
- 41:57Speaker 1: you can question? What if I told you that you
- 42:00Speaker 1: want a question everything? Not? No? I see right there?
- 42:12Speaker 1: All right? Started boo Man from La left the boys
- 42:18Speaker 1: mail a big gold family Boo Man in the house.
- 42:23Speaker 1: But Steve, I just got to listening to Ark Kelly.
- 42:27Speaker 1: I admitted I did it, and you are mentioned in
- 42:31Speaker 1: that nineteen minute song. He is talking about his life
- 42:35Speaker 1: and how innocent he is and all that. But anyway,
- 42:37Speaker 1: you and time joining with booth mentioned in that song. Um,
- 42:42Speaker 1: basically really what I want to share, man. January the ninth,
- 42:46Speaker 1: I'll be outitioness with voice and I'm definitely gonna be
- 42:49Speaker 1: looking for y'all to get backup up anyways. One love,
- 42:53Speaker 1: Happy holidays, Miss Shirty, mister Miles, Carla Junior and can
- 43:00Speaker 1: be Monica. I love y'all. I mean that. Oh man,
- 43:04Speaker 1: I was well boom man. I do know the song
- 43:07Speaker 1: and this thing that they're saying. R Kelly has released
- 43:10Speaker 1: a new one from him that I admitted as old. Yeah,
- 43:13Speaker 1: that was from twenty eighteen. He's been wrote that song.
- 43:16Speaker 1: He and he put me in tom during that too.
- 43:19Speaker 1: We wouldn't support him by playing this music and all that.
- 43:21Speaker 1: I can't put you on this radio show. Time. Don't
- 43:26Speaker 1: know what Kelly, I can. I can't help you, man, now,
- 43:30Speaker 1: I know I'm in the song. I admitted, I admit
- 43:32Speaker 1: I'm in there, and I didn't. I won't play your music,
- 43:35Speaker 1: and I'm why I can't play your music. Come. We
- 43:37Speaker 1: got too many damn women on this show, and I
- 43:39Speaker 1: can't support what you didn't did to him right right?
- 43:43Speaker 1: I admit it, I admit it. Yes, hell the hell
- 43:48Speaker 1: you want me to do? You can't ride with this?
- 43:52Speaker 1: I told you, an, I told you, all right, we
- 43:59Speaker 1: gotta go. Coming up next, it is the nephew with
- 44:02Speaker 1: the prank phone call for today. Right after this, you're
- 44:05Speaker 1: listening morning show coming up at the top of the hour,
- 44:11Speaker 1: right about four minutes after, it's my Strawberry letter for today,
- 44:15Speaker 1: and the subject is hip hopping granny. Okay, all right,
- 44:19Speaker 1: hip hopping granny. Yeah right, Oh we'll find out what
- 44:27Speaker 1: that's all about in just a bit, because right now
- 44:29Speaker 1: it is time for the nephew and today's prank phone call.
- 44:32Speaker 1: What you got for us today? Naw, I'm trying to
- 44:35Speaker 1: go deep right now, Shirley deep into the archives on
- 44:38Speaker 1: Matt Kennedy folders, and I mean see deep in the playoffs.
- 44:42Speaker 1: I'm even in a cassette couple of them on eight track.
- 44:45Speaker 1: You know, I'm wow, back off, I'm back off in here.
- 44:48Speaker 1: I'm back here. Yeah, yeah, deep deep deep, prank prank deep.
- 44:53Speaker 1: Let's see here. All right, that's right here, Uh all right,
- 45:01Speaker 1: I love it. It's the same aura that RCA. No, no, no,
- 45:09Speaker 1: don't bring that up. Different. That's a different that's a
- 45:12Speaker 1: different album. Yes, it is all right. Your daughter bit,
- 45:18Speaker 1: my son, your daughter. When you listen, if you're gonna,
- 45:23Speaker 1: if you really want to get to somebody, it's the kid.
- 45:27Speaker 1: Go at the kids. Why don't you say something about
- 45:29Speaker 1: their kids, especially black people. It goes through the room.
- 45:35Speaker 1: But yeah, but well let's get the pushing. Come on
- 45:38Speaker 1: your daughter bit my son. Let's go, let's get the
- 45:40Speaker 1: pushing it. Let's go. Hello, Hello, this is this is
- 45:49Speaker 1: Look do you do you do your daughter go to
- 45:51Speaker 1: little academy? Yes? Who's this? And her name is? Yes?
- 45:56Speaker 1: Who's this? Listen? Your daughter and bit my son Joshua
- 46:00Speaker 1: want on the back? My daughter know this is Wilton.
- 46:04Speaker 1: Your daughter then bit my son. Well, well, Wilton, slow down.
- 46:07Speaker 1: You can't just call my house and tell me my
- 46:09Speaker 1: daughter bit your say and be cussing at me. Lady,
- 46:11Speaker 1: I just said, your daughter Sakia bit my son Joshua
- 46:15Speaker 1: on the back, and I just let no. I just
- 46:17Speaker 1: said no. Two things. One my daughter wouldn't bite nobody,
- 46:20Speaker 1: and two, don't call my house with this tone. I
- 46:23Speaker 1: called with any kind of tone. What I want to
- 46:25Speaker 1: call with. All I'm saying is your daughter then bit
- 46:28Speaker 1: my son in the back. And I'm gonna tell you.
- 46:30Speaker 1: All I'm saying is don't call my house with this.
- 46:34Speaker 1: Add to saying some that my daughter beat your child
- 46:36Speaker 1: in the back. My daughter has manners and she wouldn't
- 46:39Speaker 1: be biting nobody in the back. You know, somebody, how
- 46:43Speaker 1: the hell you know what your daughter gonna be doing?
- 46:45Speaker 1: If you ain't there, my daughter you're raised. She ain't
- 46:50Speaker 1: you just come in one month and trying to do
- 46:53Speaker 1: some kind of daddy work your daughter? But four years old?
- 46:56Speaker 1: How the hell you don't you know how that? Damn
- 46:58Speaker 1: well I've been with us for four year? Year is
- 47:00Speaker 1: what you being? My daughter does not be biting people
- 47:02Speaker 1: around in the back of the neck or anything like that.
- 47:05Speaker 1: What the hell is wrong with you? Don't call my
- 47:07Speaker 1: house with his attitude? Where I get how the hell
- 47:10Speaker 1: you figure I'm a weekend daddy. I'm calling you about
- 47:13Speaker 1: what's going on with my child. But I don't think
- 47:16Speaker 1: you got your facts straight. So next time you call
- 47:18Speaker 1: somebody to tell them about their child, figure out everything
- 47:21Speaker 1: about your child first. All I'm saying is that the
- 47:24Speaker 1: people at the academy says, so, Carol, my son Josha
- 47:27Speaker 1: were in the back. Well, I can't understand what you're
- 47:30Speaker 1: saying because I don't like your tongue. So don't call
- 47:32Speaker 1: me about my baby. Have her mama called me. It
- 47:36Speaker 1: don't make no difference. If a mama or daddy called
- 47:38Speaker 1: long with somebody called hello, call her back. Hello? Is
- 47:43Speaker 1: this Carol? This is why you ain't up on me?
- 47:46Speaker 1: Why are you still calling me? And Why are you
- 47:48Speaker 1: yelling at me? My child didn't bite your child in
- 47:52Speaker 1: the back. When I picked up my child, they didn't
- 47:53Speaker 1: say to me your child is fighting in the back.
- 47:56Speaker 1: Child my child every day, like I said in the
- 47:59Speaker 1: first place. You must be some kind of weekend daddy.
- 48:02Speaker 1: You know my child. I'm with my child every day.
- 48:05Speaker 1: How you are you? I'm with my I don't even
- 48:08Speaker 1: know who Joshua is. She should have just hit him
- 48:10Speaker 1: in the head. You ain't what you ain't gonna do
- 48:12Speaker 1: and city and talk about my baby like you asked
- 48:15Speaker 1: me to lower my child. You know what I'm gonna do.
- 48:16Speaker 1: I'm gonna hang up one lay Hello, Hello called back?
- 48:24Speaker 1: Call her back cat Hello, don't hang up on me
- 48:27Speaker 1: no more, lady, I'm gonna again. I'm gonna call you
- 48:31Speaker 1: until you tell me why you your child beat me,
- 48:34Speaker 1: just bite my child in the back. I am not
- 48:36Speaker 1: in the mood to play with you right now. You're
- 48:38Speaker 1: gonna mess try to get you and your child, swoop
- 48:41Speaker 1: you and your child. You don't who guess what Shakira
- 48:45Speaker 1: got her? Daddy? You talking about whipping somebody? Daddy else
- 48:50Speaker 1: to say? You can't call my house and threaten me
- 48:52Speaker 1: and my jo if my child beat up child, that's
- 48:56Speaker 1: what your child deserved. He whoop daughter up? Your son
- 49:01Speaker 1: just probably want me to laught trying the little fast
- 49:03Speaker 1: not in those kids is you're gonna be talking about
- 49:07Speaker 1: fake facts. She didn't bite them in the back. She
- 49:10Speaker 1: might have walked, but my daughter don't play. Now keep talking.
- 49:17Speaker 1: You found my phone number, find my address and have
- 49:20Speaker 1: some kids. Daddy beat joke what I said? Bring your
- 49:24Speaker 1: one over again with my babies. Mia care with your babies.
- 49:28Speaker 1: My baby. Daddy gonna whip y'all. Bring it on. I'm
- 49:30Speaker 1: coming over there and beat you and your child. You
- 49:34Speaker 1: don't call a woman and tell her you coming over
- 49:35Speaker 1: to beahind child. You come up here and beat her. Daddy,
- 49:39Speaker 1: come over here and beat your kids. Daddy. He don't
- 49:41Speaker 1: he don't want not to me. You don't want it.
- 49:44Speaker 1: I'm on my way overout now. Bring it on. Is

- 50:04Speaker 1: get bit and your baby gonna get bit too. You
- 50:06Speaker 1: gonna bite me and my baby gonna whoop? Yo? Can

- 53:55Speaker 1: It is Drawberry Letter. Thank you, nephew subject hip hop
- 53:59Speaker 1: and grant. Dear Stephen Shirley, I'm a forty six year
- 54:02Speaker 1: old married woman with two teenagers. My husband and I
- 54:06Speaker 1: love all types of music, but hip hop and rap
- 54:09Speaker 1: will forever be my favorite type of music. I was
- 54:12Speaker 1: an only child and I spent a lot of time
- 54:14Speaker 1: with my grandmother when I was a little girl. My
- 54:17Speaker 1: grandmother loved rap music, so I grew up knowing the
- 54:20Speaker 1: lyrics to songs and riding around with music blasting out
- 54:24Speaker 1: of her car. My mother was a wild woman, and
- 54:27Speaker 1: rightfully soa since she had me when she was eighteen
- 54:29Speaker 1: years old. My grandmother was all for my mother dating,
- 54:33Speaker 1: going out to clubs, traveling, and having a life despite
- 54:36Speaker 1: being a young mom. I'm nothing like that now with
- 54:39Speaker 1: my teenagers. That wild type of lifestyle worked for my
- 54:43Speaker 1: mother back in the day because it was a safer
- 54:45Speaker 1: time and there was no social media to track everything
- 54:48Speaker 1: you did. My daughter is sixteen and she is always
- 54:52Speaker 1: at my grandmother's house, which is her great grandma. She
- 54:56Speaker 1: loves it over there because her great grandma is still
- 54:58Speaker 1: young at heart and still loves rap music. She knows
- 55:01Speaker 1: the words to all the latest rap songs and she's
- 55:04Speaker 1: got her microbraid's done and lots of makeup on. Usually
- 55:08Speaker 1: everyone loves her, but my mother and I think her
- 55:11Speaker 1: lifestyle is a bit excessive. I found out that she's
- 55:14Speaker 1: letting my daughter meet up with boys at her house,
- 55:17Speaker 1: and my husband has talked with her about respecting our
- 55:20Speaker 1: rules for our children. I love that my teenagers call
- 55:24Speaker 1: her the hip hopping granny, and it's a blessing to
- 55:27Speaker 1: have their great grandma in their lives, But she just
- 55:30Speaker 1: does too much all of the time. How do I
- 55:33Speaker 1: convince an eighty two year old woman to stop negatively
- 55:36Speaker 1: influencing my children? Please help well, hip hopping Granny, Yeah,
- 55:44Speaker 1: that's the subject. Well, this one is not easy because
- 55:47Speaker 1: you know your grand is eighty two years old, and
- 55:50Speaker 1: you know it is hard to tell an eighty two
- 55:53Speaker 1: year old what to do period on any level. I mean,
- 55:56Speaker 1: they feel like they've lived their lives and you can't
- 55:58Speaker 1: tell them anything. They've earned the right. I don't care
- 56:01Speaker 1: if it's your child you're talking about or whatever it is,
- 56:03Speaker 1: that's just how they feel at that age. You can't
- 56:06Speaker 1: run granny's house. And I'm sure you've even heard this before. Uh,
- 56:10Speaker 1: you know, this is my house, my house, my rules. Okay,
- 56:13Speaker 1: you've talked to your grandmother, I'm sure, and you said
- 56:16Speaker 1: your husband has talked to her about it about you know,
- 56:19Speaker 1: respecting the rules that you have for your for your children. Uh.
- 56:23Speaker 1: And I know you're most concerned about the boys, and
- 56:26Speaker 1: you should be concerned, but you gotta I just say,
- 56:31Speaker 1: you gotta trust it. Just because your grandmother is young
- 56:34Speaker 1: at heart and she listens to rap and she wears
- 56:36Speaker 1: micro brads that that you know, you gotta think that
- 56:40Speaker 1: she's not irresponsible when it comes to your your kids
- 56:43Speaker 1: and her great grandkids. Um. I think she's paying attention
- 56:48Speaker 1: to what's going on in her house, and that's probably
- 56:50Speaker 1: why she lets the boys come over there to the
- 56:52Speaker 1: house so she can see what they're gonna do, So
- 56:55Speaker 1: she can see what's going on. I mean, you spend
- 56:58Speaker 1: a lot of time with your grandmother, and yes, time
- 57:00Speaker 1: were different then, but you turned out fine. You spend
- 57:03Speaker 1: a lot of time at your granny's house. Times are different,
- 57:07Speaker 1: and your grandmother hasn't changed. Times may have changed, what
- 57:11Speaker 1: your grandmother hasn't changed. I think you need to stay
- 57:13Speaker 1: involved like you've been doing, keep the lines of communication open,
- 57:18Speaker 1: or you know, your other alternative is to ban the
- 57:21Speaker 1: kids from going over there, and I don't think you
- 57:22Speaker 1: want to do that. I mean, you know, those are
- 57:24Speaker 1: the choices. But I think if you keep the communication open,
- 57:27Speaker 1: let the grandmother know what you what you will and
- 57:30Speaker 1: won't do. You know, as far as your children go,
- 57:33Speaker 1: I think it'll be okay, but do it nicely. She
- 57:35Speaker 1: is eighty two years old, Steve, your grandmama too damn
- 57:39Speaker 1: old for this. Make this announcement clear. Your grandmama is
- 57:50Speaker 1: too damn old for this. Now, let me explain something
- 57:57Speaker 1: to you. I first got into produced to hip hop
- 58:01Speaker 1: in nineteen seventy seven. I'm not saying that's when it
- 58:05Speaker 1: was born. I'm saying that's when I was introduced to it.
- 58:12Speaker 1: Hip hop, hotel hippy, the hip hop to hop to hop.
- 58:19Speaker 1: I said when I heard it played at a party,
- 58:22Speaker 1: why are they playing this? But it's okay? This won't
- 58:26Speaker 1: last long because ain't nobody sing it. You said that.
- 58:31Speaker 1: That's what my dumb ass said when I first heard
- 58:34Speaker 1: hip hop this will do? This ain't gonna last They
- 58:43Speaker 1: not even sing it. Ain'tybody fit to do this? Hill?
- 58:46Speaker 1: That was my prediction for hip hop. Hip hop has
- 58:50Speaker 1: turned out to be the single largest music genera ever created.
- 58:59Speaker 1: It's that being they have created more millionaires. I gotta
- 59:05Speaker 1: take my hat off to hip hop. They've done some
- 59:08Speaker 1: great things. They've gone in the wrong direction over the years,
- 59:11Speaker 1: gangster wrap and stuff like that, but overall, hip hop
- 59:15Speaker 1: has created a bunch of millionnaires. They've created some creative minds.
- 59:22Speaker 1: That was in nineteen seventy seven. I was exactly twenty
- 59:26Speaker 1: years old when I first heard it, and I'm not
- 59:28Speaker 1: saying that's when hip ho hop was born. It's probably
- 59:30Speaker 1: born before that. When we hit the radio waves and
- 59:32Speaker 1: it came down to Ohio, I was twenty. I predicted
- 59:36Speaker 1: the demise of it. Showed what I know about hip hop,
- 59:40Speaker 1: the culture that has become. But your grandmama's too damn
- 59:43Speaker 1: old to help your grandmother out. When I come back,
- 59:46Speaker 1: Sister Odale would be hill to deal with this letter
- 59:51Speaker 1: and any questions anybody might have to the great grandmother
- 59:57Speaker 1: whose Sister Odale knows called sister Odale was huh Sunday
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: school teacher. Wow, we were here from Sister Odale when
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: we come back concerning this letter. Okay, we'll have part
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: two of Today's Strawberry Letter coming up at twenty three
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: minutes after the hour. The subject is hip hop and Granny.
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: We'll get back into it with sister odell right after this.
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: You're listening show, all right, Steve, come on, let's recap
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: today's Strawberry letter. The subject hip hopping granny state. And
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: I was just gonna understand, um, Sister O'Dell is here,
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: But you said Stave, Yeah, yeah, I was, se Shelly.
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: You heard him say that when we came back Swedie,
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: that I was going to be here. But he didn't right,
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: and just said Steve, Well, Steve's gone hardy, Steve is
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: not eighty two. Well what did he know? You know?
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: Somebody wants some expertise on this head. All right, so
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: you're gonna read. Let me just say good Martis every
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: was hey, Carlie Sherley Mississippi with the mouth and you're
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: pretty little big foehead del Hey, Julian Thomas, high boy, Yes, ma'am,
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: good morning, good morning, good good good. Now let's just
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: get on into this. Explain to me this matter. What
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: pieces is y'all not clear on? Sherley Carlin, Well, anybody,
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: sister odell um. But the title is hip hop and granny.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: And that's that's stupid right there. What title subject? You
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: know she ate it too. Now you're gonna be a
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: hip hop grandfather like my age because the hip hop
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: day was around that in you know, Grainmaster Flash all
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: the people's uh. But if you ate it two, you
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: was theay mommy and dad and trying to stay up
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: with them. Now that don't even make no sense. Yeah,
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: this woman wrote the letter. It's about her grandmother. Okay,
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: she her grandmother raised her pretty much because she said
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: her own mother was kind of wild. She was a
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: young woman and she had her at eighteen, so she
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: what is we gonna stop the widness? Well, it's it's
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: kind of stopped. It's kind of stopped as far as
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: the mother and the grandmother are concerned. It's the great
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: grandmother that's the issue. The old Harold, the eighty two
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: year old name two hip hop granted and set up
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: and put some microbais in a half. I don't know
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: what the braids is hanging out too, you show sister,
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: he gotta have some blue down. I'm gonna tell you
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: right now if you ain't it too trying to put
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: some braids in your hair, you're finna put one little
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: bitch you got, You're finna put it right out you
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: ain't and just rout the roots don't stay long at
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: eighty two. There ain't no strong roots day up there.
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: But she can't go yanking on them. Well, she just
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: said micro braids. She didn't say anything about a lad sprunt,
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: sister of death. What I'm saying you got to attach
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: the Michael badge to something something. You've been wearing a
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: hallet baby haircut for a long time. You don't know
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: the ruse of had to say, Oh so you don't
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: have a lot of hairs, so you just need to
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: stay off of this. I don't, I don't I have
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: a short haircut. That's right, You've always had that. You've
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: never tried badge. You tried to attract Steve when you
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: first got on the radio and you wore them afro
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: to work, and you didn't know that it was a
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: big turn off to him. He did. He didn't care
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: for them afro puffs at all that you wore with
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: your little tight dress on that day. Okay, this letter
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: is not about me, and you told me already that
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: Steve is gone, all right, So let's get back to
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: the letter eighty two year old great grandmother. The mother
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: is or the granddaughter is concerned that the grandmother is
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: negatively influencing her sixteen years Well she is. If she's
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: letting the baby bring boys over to the house. You
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: don't do that with no little girl that's sixteen bringing
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: boys to the house, right, That ain't right now. The
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: great grandmama need to get herself together. You can listen
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: to music, but you can't. You can't raise kids to
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: the music. Yeah, anywhere. Yeah, the parents have spoken to
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: the great grandmother about this. Well you get you're speaking
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: to him. You can do more than that. Cut he
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: ate a two shot and letting the baby go over there.
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: Or that organ player in the background, that boy's whipping
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: that you know that's a Hammond organ. Oh man, turn
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: it up, turn it up, Davis a little bit, A
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: lot of Davies when you get distracted. I know he's
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: feeling like, yes, Hank you Davis, David. I want that
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: boy right there. You know, fall white boy. He show
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: knows how to jump in at the right time. He
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: must have been raised in the Negro chase. He said, yes, Sam, sister,
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: I know, I know it when I see that somebody's
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: some negroes in his family somewhere. You can't say black
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: you got. Somebody was pulling him off to the side
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: working with him. He got way ain't too much soul
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: for that. I've seen him my stives off saying the
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: soul event. One time, table full of black girls was
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: over there here and one of his corneils with painty black.
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: I said, this trip, little white boy right here, just
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: one of his tone now one of them with black
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: and head ring on. He would buying drunk from them. Sisters.
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: I started slide over there myself. I said, well, not
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: right now anyway. Anyway, yeah, eighty two years old. You
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: need decades, not your shoe size. Ye. Yes, take care
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: to keep them wrapped up. If you get out there
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: and to want to pull some thing on the brown
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: paper bag and wrap it up in your throat. What
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: do you listen? We gotta go. Sports talk with Junior
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: is coming up right after this. Thank you, sister. Oh

- 1:09:55Speaker 1: more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show coming up at
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: the top of the hour. Right after this, you're listening
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: to the Steve Morning Show rich On Facebook, Steve writes,
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: Hey Steve, about two years ago, my mom passed away
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: and that was devastating for all of us. Now, however,
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: it sure looks like my pops has bounced back as
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: of late. He's been out and about with a way younger,
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: fine woman that can't be more than twenty five years
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: old at the age of sixty eight. I can't blame
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: my pops for shooting his shot and scoring, and he's
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: done pretty well taking care of his money. All that said,
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: Pop said he's bringing over his new boot for Christmas. Now,
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: my sisters are not happy about her, and they said
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: she is going to blank around and find out. But
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: I just want to keep you. But I just want
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: to keep the piece for Christmas? And oh what gift
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: should I give her? Well, probably need to get a
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: hailmet because but this is this make daddy proud though,
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: Now I don't don't hurt daddy feelings. Well, girls don't care.
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: The girls. First of all, two problems here you ain't
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: they mama? And number two, why do you want to add? Daddy?
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: And you're younger than us? Yes, and they probably gonna
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: be about the same age because you know he's forty
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: three years older, so chances are these kids is older
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: than her. Yeah. The people she gonna feel the raft man, yeah,
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: all the people his age is sick. Yeah, he wants
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: something I don't know. And what does she want with him?
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: His money? M Yeah, because he's even have done good
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: by herself and you know he probably kept himself in shape.
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: And you know he gonna bring the girl about for Christmas.
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: Ain't nothing y'all can do about it. They just got
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: to feel it. Yeah. Yeah, but you're gonna mess up
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: your relationship with your father because you're gonna make him
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: head to pick between y'all and he gonna go with
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: his young girl. Now, all you gotta do is treat
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: up pleasant. Yeah, yeah, just be kind. Okay, yeah, you
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: do look like if you want to get a gift,
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: get us some get a backpack. Five got a back
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: No matter what, wonder woman, you don't get us some character,
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: you know, some sneakers with some lights on them. That's funny.
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: All right, some fresh note books. I think we might
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: have time for one more. Um. My parents always encouraged
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: me to work hard for what I wanted. Over the weekend,
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: my sister and I were talking about Christmas plans and
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: talking about tightened budgets for the holidays when she blurted out,
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: thank god Mom and Dad took care of school for me.
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: I was like, what, While I'm not hurting financially and
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: am happy where I am in life, but but come on,
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: I worked my behind off to go to college God
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: loans and finally close to paying them off, and my
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: parents just paid for my sister's college education. I'm mad
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: about this, so, Uncle Steve, I can't decide if it
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: makes me angry or hurts my feelings more. Do I
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: bring it up? No, you don't have to bring it up.
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: Your parents knew that your sister wasn't you. If your
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: parents treated all their children equally and the same your
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: sister probably wouldn't even be in college because your sister
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: don't have the same makeup that you have. And they
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: recognize that, so they paid it for it. Right, you know,
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: just understand and thank God that you are who you
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: are and don't and don't and don't and don't get
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: mad because your blessing is you. You had the skill
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: setting the mindset to do it. Now you're gonna block
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: your blessing by Haden because she got because because they
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: paid for what So m hm, she is not you
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: and regniz they both have a college education. Yeah, that's
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: the blessing too. You know, you almost got these loans
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: paid off and you did it yourself. That's in the company.
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: So instead of being mad at your parents, be proud
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: of yourself. Thank God for Daddy brought you through. Wow,
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: so amazing how people block the blessing by looking at
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: Instead of looking at what you have, you focus on
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: what you don't have. Yeah, they don't look at good.
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: All right, great advice, thank you, so don't bring it up. Please.
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: Coming up at twenty minutes after the hour, we'll have
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show right after this.
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: You're listening, all right, Steve, it is time for a
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: quick health and wellness shout out. Give some um. You

- 1:15:30Speaker 1: and stuff to never reach your cellular level when you
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: drink greens. Greens especially are designed to go straight to

- 1:15:52Speaker 1: workout product, it's not protein. It gives you the energy
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: so you have the energy to go for your walks,
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: the energy to work out, you know, the energy to
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: think more. Clearly, it's a lot of energy and it
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: does wonders for your digestive system. And that's all the
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: things I've been working on. People say, Steve, you look
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: young man, and I do, and I feel young because
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: I take care of myself on the cellular level. So

- 1:18:44Speaker 1: All he did ask people around me, no hear no,
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: I can't hear no noise, can't nothing moved. I can't no,
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: I can't hear nothing. I can't hit, no gas releasing,
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: none of that. I'll be hearing about. No be up
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: in that turning over bodies to be so many bodies
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: on the floor, I ain't got no where to sit.
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: I'm just standing in the corner, just looking at these
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: people in here. I'd have knocked off all the bodies
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: off this table, man, people in weird positions. I'm scared.
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: No hell no, I'm saying this public bath room. Got
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: me a little water in here, peeing using the bathroom,
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: talking on the phone, you know, Junior. Yeah, I'm gonna
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: be over there with us in the public restroom. I
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: can't do that any more. Tell me about yourself. I'm
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: laying up in the cash. You're trying to give me
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: some sleep. I'm not standing in there standing bad. I
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: don't think he'll understand what the morgaus, all that's slabbed
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: and all embodies in there, the doors here. Man, see
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: if you throught this through, you thought this through, No,
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: I'd be laying a cross him sleeks the Sleeper's Hill,
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: I walk on my ass. That's today's rounded with rather.
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: All right, coming up in forty nine minutes after the hour,
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: last break of the day, and we'll close out the
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: show right after you're listening. All right, guys, here we
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: are our last break. This is it. Yeah, yeah, we are.
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: We're gonna take a short break for the holidays. As
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: as many of you will be off for the holidays.
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: We're gonna get a chance to spending with our families
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: and stuff and joyce travels, maybe some good food and
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: all like that. But in closing, I'd like to say
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: this to people, you know, as we approached years in,
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: I recommend to people to think of all the positive
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: things that have happened to you. And I know, look,
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: twenty twenty two is rough for a lot of people.
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: I got that coming off of COVID on the tail
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: end of it. You know, I realize, you know, a
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: lot of things have happened. I'm pretty sure somebody lost
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: a loved one. I'm positive of that. I'm positive somebody
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: lost something that they cared deeply about. I'm pretty sure
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: that was some setbacks, some challenges, and some disappointments along
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: the way, but I'm asking you not to think about
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: those things and focus on them as sad. Y'all be man,
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: I'm glad this year over with Man. This year was nothing.
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: I can't wait to turn to page and do something else. Well,
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: I can't wait to turn to page and do something
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: else because I can't wait to see what else God
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: got for me. Because in spite of all my setbacks
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: and disappointments that I've had in twenty twenty two, all
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: the deals that I hoped and prayed would happen did
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: not materialize. All of them just didn't. But I do
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: thank God for the ones that did. I thank God
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: for opportunity. I thank God for options. I thank God
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: for my measure of health. I thank God for the
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: fact that he allowed me to steal be hire. I
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: thank God that he took some people and he left me.
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: You know, as much as I love some people, I
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: didn't want to go with him. I thank God Man
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: for every blessing that He's bestowed upon me. And as
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: you enter the exit of this year, and hopefully God
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: willing able to enter into the new year, think about
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: what God has done for you. Make a list of
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: everything God has done for you. Take inventory of all
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: the blessings you have, your home, your family, your chilled,
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: your job, your options, the choices you've made, the relationships
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: you have, good and bad. Thank him if he got
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: you out of a bad relationship, Thank you, Thank you
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: for letting you survive whatever it is you survive. And
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: then right down in anticipation what you're hoping and look
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: for in twenty twenty three and put that at the
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: throne and talk about that. But keep your mindset positive. Man.
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: I live my life in complete expectation that God is
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: going to do exceedingly and abundantly over all. I think,
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: I ask, man, this is not the time to complain.
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: I see so many people doing a retrospective of the
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: years in and they go over everything that went wrong,
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: all the tragedies and all like this. Why are you
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: doing that? Why are you Why are you looking in
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: the rearview mirror of your automobile when clearly God made
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: the windshield twenty times bigger. There's a reason your rearview
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: mirror is the size. It's just so you can quickly
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: look up there and see what you've been through and
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: recognize that God brought you through something. The windshield is
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: because he wants you to look forward to all the
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: things that's coming your way. Don't let the devil food you.
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: Don't let the devil rob you of your destiny. Don't
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: let the devil have you thinking that God don't love you,
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: that God don't care about you, that He has forgotten
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: about you. That's not true. If you're in a position
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: where you're thinking God don't love you, or God don't
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: care about you, or God has forgotten about you. If
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: you really want to know the truth about that feeling
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: right there is because you've disconnected yourself from Him. And
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: the way to correct that is real simple, y'all. Get
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: back in touch with God, turn around and face him,
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: and it's real simple. You don't have to go clean
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: up what you messed up. All you have to do
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: is ask for forgiveness. God is a forgiving God. God
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: is in the chance business. He does it for people
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: all the time. Listen to me, y'all, there's none perfect, no,
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: not one. Don't get hung up on your mistakes. Don't
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: let your mistakes define you or determine your future. Because
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: everybody makes them, everybody has done them, everybody has gotten
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: themselves in some regrettable situations. But you know what, the
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: smart people do. They understand what Donnie mcclerkland said when
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: he wrote the gospel song we fall Down, but We
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: get up. A saint is just a sinner who failed down,
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: but he didn't stay there. He got back up again.
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: Get yourself up. Mistakes are a part of the process.
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: We are all sinners saved by grace. You've made mistakes,
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: you've gotten it wrong. For God is in a forgiving
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: business man. I can't count mistakes I've made. I stopped
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: trying to, I stop tracking them. I ask for forgiveness,
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: and I get up and I keep moving on. And
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: you know, and be careful as you leave this year
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: and approach the new year of people in your life
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: who are only around you to remind you of who
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: you were and what you did and what you was.
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: Be careful of those people. It's time to cut them loose.
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: There are people in your life who won't even let
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: you move on. You know, have you ran up in
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: the people you haven't seen in a while, and you
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: the new you, and you got this new energy and
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: new ambitions. And when you meet them, they looking at
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: you sideways. Time on ain't you. That ain't who I remember.
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: I remember when you did this. I remember when I
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: did all that too, But I don't do it no more.
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: I'm better now. And if you got people in your
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: life who are constantly reminding you of who you were
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: and what you did, it's time to cut them loose.
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: God has freed you. God is in the forgiving business.
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: Have a great holiday, enjoy yourself, be careful, don't eat
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: too much, but do enjoy yourself. Work out now offset
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: some of that. Happy holidays to everybody. We love you
