- 2:09Speaker 6: Man got a radio show, got a good one for
- 2:11Speaker 6: you today. And it just happened to me.
- 2:14Speaker 2: You know, I was going through something that I've been
- 2:17Speaker 2: going through for a long long time and just weary
- 2:20Speaker 2: of it all. And I was I've been talking to
- 2:23Speaker 2: God about it, and I mean for years.
- 2:25Speaker 6: Though.
- 2:26Speaker 2: What happened was I had to go through some more
- 2:30Speaker 2: of it yesterday again a situation. But you know what,
- 2:34Speaker 2: after it was over, you know, I kind of laid
- 2:36Speaker 2: in it for a little while. You know how you've
- 2:38Speaker 2: been going through something for so long and then even
- 2:41Speaker 2: if it's over or appears to be over, you still
- 2:44Speaker 2: kind of lay in it a little bit, and you
- 2:46Speaker 2: know you have a while. Man, I can't believe I've
- 2:48Speaker 2: been dealing with this this long, even though even though
- 2:52Speaker 2: it's over. I don't know how you do it, but
- 2:54Speaker 2: this was so good for me. Have you ever counted,
- 2:58Speaker 2: Steve Harvey, how many times you made it? And so
- 3:01Speaker 2: that's what I started doing yesterday, And that's what I
- 3:04Speaker 2: did this morning. When I woke up. I was actually
- 3:08Speaker 2: taking an inventory account of how many times I made it.
- 3:12Speaker 2: How many times, man, I didn't have the rent and
- 3:16Speaker 2: somehow I came up with it. How many times I
- 3:18Speaker 2: didn't have my house payment and somehow I came up
- 3:22Speaker 2: with it. How many times I was out of money,
- 3:25Speaker 2: did not have enough, didn't see no way, but somehow
- 3:29Speaker 2: I came up with it. How many times I got sick, thought, well, man,
- 3:34Speaker 2: this one right here. I don't know what I'm gonna do,
- 3:36Speaker 2: but somehow I got my health back. How many situations
- 3:41Speaker 2: I have found myself in? That was I thought at
- 3:46Speaker 2: the time, detrimental and diabolical and man so sinister at times.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Somehow I made it. I look at all the accidents
- 3:57Speaker 2: I've been in, but he kept me. I made I
- 4:01Speaker 2: think about even the simplest times of like stepping off
- 4:03Speaker 2: a curve and almost got hit, but I made it.
- 4:06Speaker 6: I was just tripping the other day.
- 4:09Speaker 2: I was thinking about the times that I've been hit
- 4:11Speaker 2: by a car and it could have been worse, but
- 4:14Speaker 2: it wasn't, And I made it through that too. I
- 4:16Speaker 2: was thinking about, Man, when they count you out? Do
- 4:19Speaker 2: you know how many times I've been counted out? He's done?
- 4:24Speaker 2: He ain't gonna be nothing, He ain't nobody See who
- 4:28Speaker 2: I told y'all look at over that they counsel this.
- 4:31Speaker 2: He offered that he out of here. He ain't gonna
- 4:34Speaker 2: make it. He didne got fired. Man, You know how
- 4:36Speaker 2: many times I've been counted out? You know how many
- 4:38Speaker 2: times they done wrote me off? How many times have
- 4:41Speaker 2: you been written off?
- 4:42Speaker 1: Man?
- 4:42Speaker 6: But here you still standing? Yeah, you're a tripped on it.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Take an inventory, y'all of how many times? Count the
- 4:50Speaker 2: times you've made it? What about the times man, when
- 4:52Speaker 2: nobody was there to encourage you? But you still here
- 4:56Speaker 2: though you have tripped on that? Ain't nobody called you?
- 5:00Speaker 2: I told you good day. Nobody called you and told
- 5:02Speaker 2: you recently thank you. No one's called you and told
- 5:04Speaker 2: you how much you meant to them, how much you've
- 5:06Speaker 2: done for them? Or man, that you can make it.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Never give up. Keep your head up, man, keep grinding.
- 5:11Speaker 2: But you still here, even when nobody. Have you counted
- 5:14Speaker 2: the times man, that you made it anyway? Have you
- 5:19Speaker 2: counted the times that you felt like quitting, you felt
- 5:22Speaker 2: like giving up, you kept going.
- 5:26Speaker 6: How about the time this is a good one right here?
- 5:28Speaker 2: How about the times man, when everybody's standing around saying,
- 5:31Speaker 2: ain't no way, ain't no way.
- 5:33Speaker 6: Man.
- 5:33Speaker 2: I can't tell how many times I've heard this, ain't
- 5:35Speaker 2: no way, and then somehow there is a way. You
- 5:39Speaker 2: know why, because he make a way. You understand.
- 5:43Speaker 6: You know how many times I've heard this one right here? Steve,
- 5:46Speaker 6: listen to me, man, Nobody ever before has done that.
- 5:51Speaker 6: You can't do that. How many times you done heard?
- 5:54Speaker 6: No you or you know anybody that done that? You
- 5:58Speaker 6: can't do that. No one has ever done that. I
- 6:01Speaker 6: made it anyway?
- 6:04Speaker 2: You know, they don't normally or we don't normally allowed this,
- 6:12Speaker 2: but in this case, for you, we gonna make an exception.
- 6:16Speaker 2: How many times have you heard that, Oh, I think
- 6:19Speaker 2: I'm onto something? How many times have you heard in
- 6:23Speaker 2: your lifetime? We don't normally or they don't normally allow this,
- 6:29Speaker 2: but we gonna make this exception in your case?
- 6:33Speaker 6: How many times you done heard that? Have you ever
- 6:37Speaker 6: counted the times that you made it? Everybody out except me?
- 6:45Speaker 6: How can that be? You know you're the only one
- 6:48Speaker 6: that got through this? Congratulations?
- 6:52Speaker 7: Wow?
- 6:52Speaker 2: Man, I don't hardly see this too many times. But
- 6:55Speaker 2: do you realize that normally this is what happened to people?
- 6:58Speaker 2: But man, I don't know how your name came up,
- 7:01Speaker 2: but here you are. Wow, it never happens like that.
- 7:05Speaker 2: You ever counted those times I was doing it yesterday?
- 7:08Speaker 2: I was doing it this morning. I was just taking
- 7:11Speaker 2: an inventory everybody of how many times I've made it?
- 7:14Speaker 2: So what I learned yesterday was when God gets you
- 7:19Speaker 2: through something, when he pulled you out on the other side,
- 7:23Speaker 2: no matter how difficult or how long it took. When
- 7:26Speaker 2: He gets you out on the other side, why don't
- 7:28Speaker 2: you get up, dust yourself off, and start troting what
- 7:33Speaker 2: you laying there for? Man? Wallowing in it, going over it,
- 7:38Speaker 2: recycling it in your mind. So many people can't move
- 7:42Speaker 2: forward because we keep recycling stuff in our mind when
- 7:48Speaker 2: clearly it's time to move on, it's time to let go,
- 7:54Speaker 2: it's time to go and see what God has for you.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Stop looking at what you lost. What you lost was
- 8:02Speaker 2: probably not yours to have in the first all in
- 8:07Speaker 2: the first place. Do you know the things I've lost? Now,
- 8:15Speaker 2: I'm not talking about losing a loved one, a mother
- 8:17Speaker 2: or father, nothing like that. I'm talking about innate objects
- 8:21Speaker 2: or situation. Do you know the things I've lost? Man,
- 8:24Speaker 2: I look back on it. I wasn't supposed to have
- 8:25Speaker 2: them in the first place, or they was.
- 8:27Speaker 6: Doing me no good. I wasn't wasn't mine to lose,
- 8:30Speaker 6: but I claimed I lost it.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Come on, man, take an inventory everybody. Start looking at
- 8:35Speaker 2: the things man, that God has brought you through. Start
- 8:38Speaker 2: looking at how many times He allowed you to make it.
- 8:41Speaker 2: And get glad about waking up in the morning. Man,
- 8:43Speaker 2: get glad about your life. Start feeling something positive about
- 8:46Speaker 2: your situation. You cannot expect God to continue to bless
- 8:51Speaker 2: you if you're not grateful for the things.
- 8:53Speaker 7: That you have.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Why would God sitting down here looking at you, upset, angry,
- 9:01Speaker 2: laying in the wall of what you are not grateful for.
- 9:06Speaker 2: You just can't find the scene and find no gratitude
- 9:08Speaker 2: in your heart about nothing, but you steady asking God
- 9:11Speaker 2: for something. So now you think God is crazy? You
- 9:14Speaker 2: think he gonna give you some more stuff to not
- 9:16Speaker 2: be grateful for. Are you kidding me? Why would he
- 9:19Speaker 2: do that.
- 9:20Speaker 6: He's too full of too much mercy to send you
- 9:23Speaker 6: through that over and over and over.
- 9:25Speaker 2: The more I give my child, the more ungrateful they are,
- 9:28Speaker 2: the less gratitude they show. But I'm gonna keep dumping
- 9:31Speaker 2: it on them so they can keep feeling ungrateful and
- 9:34Speaker 2: then show like a gratitude. God's not gonna do that
- 9:36Speaker 2: to you. Come on, man, have you ever counted how
- 9:41Speaker 2: many times you made it? I can't count how many
- 9:46Speaker 2: times God then got me through something. But when He
- 9:49Speaker 2: gets you through it, you ain't get up and get
- 9:51Speaker 2: on about your business. Don't lay that in it.
- 9:53Speaker 6: It's over, it's done, you made it, you survived it.
- 9:55Speaker 6: Let's go, let's go.
- 9:57Speaker 1: You're listening.

- 25:01Speaker 9: My son popped up at my house for coffee early
- 25:04Speaker 9: the next morning, and I was still in bed with

- 27:05Speaker 9: She's not willing to move out, so the judge said
- 27:07Speaker 9: she could keep the apartment in my basement. I don't
- 27:11Speaker 9: want her down there period. What if I sold the
- 27:14Speaker 9: house to get rid of her, would that be too
- 27:15Speaker 9: low down?
- 27:17Speaker 2: I mean, you could sell the house if you got it,

- 27:39Speaker 2: judge says she can stay, so you know, yeah, all
- 27:44Speaker 2: you can do is make it rough.
- 27:45Speaker 6: To be down there. Cut the water, or you can

- 43:02Speaker 11: Nephew, it happens to us quite often, Shirley call it
- 43:06Speaker 11: it happens. The title today is he left his draws.
- 43:13Speaker 11: He left his draws, okay, And it's happened on so
- 43:20Speaker 11: many different occasions, and I think it's happened for all
- 43:22Speaker 11: of us. Whether you whether you have found somebody's draws
- 43:25Speaker 11: that they left at the house. Oh oh, you are

- 43:35Speaker 1: Cat dog, if you would.
- 43:38Speaker 7: Hello, yes, hey, this is the door man mark of
- 43:44Speaker 7: your building. Okay. I have a mistress here who is
- 43:48Speaker 7: trying to get buzzed up to your unit. Are you

- 44:04Speaker 7: articles in the room or in your unit a couple.
- 44:06Speaker 8: Of days ago.
- 44:07Speaker 7: And I was out of town a couple of days ago.
- 44:10Speaker 8: What day are we talking about?
- 44:11Speaker 10: Uh so what day you?
- 44:13Speaker 6: Actually?
- 44:13Speaker 7: He started Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. He was there all
- 44:19Speaker 7: three days. You guys let him into my apartment for
- 44:22Speaker 7: three days.
- 44:22Speaker 8: He was in my place.
- 44:23Speaker 7: No mischief We don't let anybody in and let someone
- 44:27Speaker 7: in the unit allow them to be buzzed up. That's
- 44:29Speaker 7: the rules there of the building. So we definitely didn't
- 44:32Speaker 7: do anything of char.
- 44:33Speaker 10: Who let him in?
- 44:34Speaker 8: Who buzzed him?
- 44:34Speaker 7: Indy, sir, I hate to say it, but I'm assuming
- 44:37Speaker 7: your wife must to buzz him up. You mean my
- 44:40Speaker 7: wife was not there three days ago.
- 44:41Speaker 10: She was on a business trip. She was not at
- 44:43Speaker 10: the apartment three days ago.
- 44:45Speaker 7: No, sir, your wife was here. I've actually seen your wife.
- 44:47Speaker 8: Come in and out.
- 44:49Speaker 10: Okay, the dude is there right now.
- 44:51Speaker 7: He's downstairs. He's here right now with me.
- 44:53Speaker 6: Sir.

- 44:55Speaker 11: Okay?
- 44:55Speaker 7: One second, MISSI hang, actually leave this part fair pant?
- 45:01Speaker 4: I know?
- 45:01Speaker 7: And what else he says?

- 45:07Speaker 7: rush shirt. Sir, till kill till he's.
- 45:11Speaker 8: There right now? Let me talk to him.
- 45:13Speaker 10: Put him on the phone. Let me talk to you
- 45:15Speaker 10: know what, missus.
- 45:16Speaker 7: Right now, we're listening to you, and I rate the
- 45:18Speaker 7: way you saying. I don't want to put this guy
- 45:20Speaker 7: on the phone. Mark, if you want to keep your
- 45:22Speaker 7: job at the building, you're gonna put him on the
- 45:25Speaker 7: phone now, sir, Sorry, miss he's actually leaving out of
- 45:31Speaker 7: the building.
- 45:31Speaker 6: Now he's.
- 45:34Speaker 7: Leave, he's walk putting.
- 45:36Speaker 10: Him on the phone. What is your problem?
- 45:41Speaker 7: You got videos to vailis right?
- 45:42Speaker 8: You got video footage of everybody that comes.
- 45:44Speaker 7: In and out of the building, right, yes, sir, But
- 45:47Speaker 7: you know, if if nothing occurs, we I think we
- 45:50Speaker 7: should have footage that goes back at least two weeks,
- 45:52Speaker 7: so we should be able to pull some things up
- 45:54Speaker 7: for you.
- 45:54Speaker 2: Sir.
- 45:55Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm gonna need you to get that, and I
- 45:57Speaker 7: need to hit over to me right now. I'm at
- 45:59Speaker 7: my work email. I need it today because this is
- 46:01Speaker 7: some y'all let my apartment and it's like, what kind
- 46:08Speaker 7: of income fool party?
- 46:08Speaker 10: What kind of infore are you?
- 46:10Speaker 8: Sir?
- 46:10Speaker 6: Missus? Missus?
- 46:13Speaker 7: All right, well, please hear me out, sir, hear me out.
- 46:16Speaker 7: I heard. We haven't just let someone in. Someone in
- 46:20Speaker 7: your unit. Buzz someone up. We didn't just let anyone up. Now,
- 46:24Speaker 7: I know you don't want to hear it, but I'm
- 46:27Speaker 7: assuming your wife buzz this guy just turned up. We
- 46:32Speaker 7: didn't do that. You shut stuff and get me what
- 46:35Speaker 7: I asked for and then we're done. Okay, Well, well,
- 46:39Speaker 7: you know you're saying I have a problem. Maybe you
- 46:41Speaker 7: have a problem pleasing your wife and that's why she's
- 46:43Speaker 7: buzzing other people.
- 46:45Speaker 10: Oh you talking to me like that, you pump.
- 46:50Speaker 7: You're being respectful to me as well, sir.
- 46:53Speaker 10: No, no, no, no.
- 46:54Speaker 7: The disrespectful is you coming and letting people come up
- 46:57Speaker 7: to my building.
- 46:57Speaker 6: That you know is now.
- 46:58Speaker 7: I haven't let anybody up. I can't stop your wife
- 47:01Speaker 7: from doing what she's doing. You don't forget him what
- 47:04Speaker 7: you're thinking and mind taking out on me and what
- 47:06Speaker 7: you should be saying to your wife. Somebody has got
- 47:09Speaker 7: a dress up all the time and always buzzing somebody
- 47:11Speaker 7: up to the room when you're gone. That's what tw
- 47:13Speaker 7: me to the door man.
- 47:16Speaker 8: You you you, you know what.
- 47:19Speaker 10: I'm the only around here busting my take care.
- 47:22Speaker 7: Damn man, I'm over here working right now to take
- 47:24Speaker 7: for that.
- 47:26Speaker 10: Job.
- 47:26Speaker 7: Well, you might be handling you, but man, whatever the dinner,
- 47:29Speaker 7: you're not. You're not handling your business at home. That's
- 47:31Speaker 7: why she keeps buzzing people off.
- 47:33Speaker 8: Sir.
- 47:33Speaker 7: You know what with the business I'm a handle when
- 47:35Speaker 7: I get home today and show.
- 47:37Speaker 10: Them what I mean.
- 47:40Speaker 7: Man, your your wife has been sir, you're gonna quit
- 47:43Speaker 7: calling me the door man. Okay, doorman, what's showing my position?
- 47:48Speaker 7: What you do for a living? I'm a doorman door
- 47:52Speaker 7: and thank you, missing door man. Matter fact, I'm gonna
- 47:54Speaker 7: stop calling you miss the door man, because that's giving
- 47:56Speaker 7: you too much respect.

- 48:38Speaker 10: Was about to get it.
- 48:39Speaker 7: You always everybody was about Hey man, I gotta ask you, man,

- 50:29Speaker 1: Right here, right now. I'm buggle up, Hold on, tank,
- 50:33Speaker 1: we got it for you here.
- 50:34Speaker 9: It is a strawberry let us subject how large is
- 50:38Speaker 9: too large?
- 50:39Speaker 1: Dear Stephen Shirley.
- 50:40Speaker 9: I am in a struggle right now, and I need
- 50:43Speaker 9: a little advice for a big problem. I have a
- 50:46Speaker 9: male friend that I've known since first grade and we're
- 50:49Speaker 9: almost forty now. I'm divorced and dating a lot of
- 50:52Speaker 9: men after my divorce. After a one day recently, I
- 50:57Speaker 9: had a revelation that my soulmate is someone I have
- 51:00Speaker 9: known all my life. My good male friend and I
- 51:03Speaker 9: hang out all of the time, but he's not who
- 51:06Speaker 9: I had in mind if I were to date someone
- 51:08Speaker 9: i've known a long time. He's a tall man, almost
- 51:12Speaker 9: six ' five, with big hands and feet. He's not overweight,
- 51:17Speaker 9: but he's massive in size compared to me. I'm petite
- 51:22Speaker 9: and barely five to three, so he towers over me.
- 51:26Speaker 9: He's always well groomed, but handsome. He is not exclamation mark.
- 51:33Speaker 9: So he and I met up after work for dinner
- 51:35Speaker 9: with another male friend of ours. He paid my tab
- 51:38Speaker 9: as usual and said all I owed him was a hug.
- 51:43Speaker 9: He walked me to my car and I got on
- 51:45Speaker 9: my tiptoes like I always do to give him a hug,
- 51:49Speaker 9: but this time he kissed me. That was a first,
- 51:54Speaker 9: and I must have had too much wine because I
- 51:56Speaker 9: started kissing him back. He picked me up and sat
- 52:00Speaker 9: me on my car and we kissed for a good while.
- 52:03Speaker 9: He didn't say a word. Afterwards, he took me down
- 52:06Speaker 9: off my car and said good night. I was so
- 52:10Speaker 9: turned on that I told him to follow me home.
- 52:13Speaker 9: At my house, we kissed some more and then went
- 52:17Speaker 9: to my bed. After a few minutes of us trying
- 52:20Speaker 9: to have sex, we realized it wasn't going to work.
- 52:24Speaker 1: This man is large and in charge in all areas.
- 52:29Speaker 9: I was not ashamed because I've known him forever, and
- 52:32Speaker 9: we laughed for hours about it. He opened up and
- 52:35Speaker 9: said he wants to date me, and I'm all for
- 52:38Speaker 9: trying it because I do love him and I know
- 52:40Speaker 9: he loves me. But it's is intimacy out of the question.
- 52:45Speaker 9: I will need to try it before I get too
- 52:47Speaker 9: serious with him.
- 52:49Speaker 6: What should I do?
- 52:51Speaker 8: Who?
- 52:53Speaker 9: Okay, I understand your concern, and this is certainly the
- 52:59Speaker 9: opposite if some of the letters we get, that's for sure.
- 53:02Speaker 9: I'm sure many women would want to be in your
- 53:04Speaker 9: shoes right now, but it's not about them.
- 53:07Speaker 1: This is about you. First.
- 53:09Speaker 9: I would tell you to talk to your doctor. Women
- 53:12Speaker 9: who are women are definitely built to carry children and
- 53:18Speaker 9: to push.
- 53:18Speaker 1: Babies out and all that.
- 53:20Speaker 9: But it's always good to be sure about what's going
- 53:22Speaker 9: on with your own body. And I think it was
- 53:26Speaker 9: the wine that took over your body and you went
- 53:30Speaker 9: too far a little bit in this one, and that
- 53:33Speaker 9: maybe that's why you know you were struggling and didn't fit.
- 53:36Speaker 1: You were trying too hard.
- 53:37Speaker 9: I think you need to be sober if you want
- 53:39Speaker 9: to be into it with him and intimate with him.
- 53:44Speaker 1: I say, the next time you guys.
- 53:45Speaker 9: Get together, maybe you should relax and let things happen organically.
- 53:49Speaker 9: Don't try too hard, don't think too hard, don't try
- 53:53Speaker 9: to force it any of that. It's gonna either fit
- 53:55Speaker 9: or won't. I mean, you know, and that's how life is,
- 53:59Speaker 9: I guess. But you gotta take your time, relaxed and

- 54:05Speaker 1: And that's all I got.

- 54:52Speaker 2: who she had in mind if I would to date someone.
- 54:58Speaker 1: He's tall man.
- 54:59Speaker 2: He's almost six five, with big hands and big feet.
- 55:03Speaker 2: Now I notice, see.
- 55:04Speaker 6: This is why I come in. I got big hands
- 55:08Speaker 6: and I got big feet. I understand.
- 55:12Speaker 2: You've noticed Thomas very quiet normally he got something say
- 55:15Speaker 2: on these days.
- 55:17Speaker 6: I got it.
- 55:17Speaker 2: Okay, well I got another. I got the pard. I'm

- 55:24Speaker 6: I ain't got more.
- 55:26Speaker 2: He's not overweight, and he's massive in size compared to me.
- 55:30Speaker 2: Once again, this is not Tommy. Well, it's just he Look,
- 55:35Speaker 2: you know, it's just short. You know this man six five. Well,
- 55:38Speaker 2: we can't be talking about Tommy big hands. You seen
- 55:41Speaker 2: his hands when you just some live remote got a
- 55:44Speaker 2: little raccoon hands. You know, I remember when Tom was
- 55:49Speaker 2: a baby. He couldn't even hold the apple, you know.
- 55:53Speaker 2: With the letter, I'm just saying we had to cut
- 55:55Speaker 2: the apple in a slice. He's not overweight, but he's
- 55:58Speaker 2: massive insize compared to me. Huh, well, now I'm petite
- 56:04Speaker 2: five three. He's well groomed, yeah, which is a plus.
- 56:10Speaker 2: Now he's always well groomed. She's barely five three. He
- 56:14Speaker 2: towers over me, but handsome he is not. Okay, right there, Town,
- 56:21Speaker 2: right there, you got something you won't say.
- 56:25Speaker 11: Right there, I'm not gonna be ugly with you, and Junior,
- 56:33Speaker 11: I ain't say you was.
- 56:34Speaker 6: This is the part I'm just I told you it
- 56:36Speaker 6: was a part in the letter where you could come
- 56:38Speaker 6: in at.
- 56:41Speaker 1: He falls on time.
- 56:43Speaker 2: So they met up after work for dinner. All right,
- 56:46Speaker 2: hold that thought, and right after that it started popping off.
- 56:49Speaker 2: We'll be right, all right, we're.
- 56:51Speaker 9: Gonna have part two of Steve's response coming up in
- 56:53Speaker 9: twenty three minutes after the hour subject how large is
- 56:58Speaker 9: too large?
- 57:00Speaker 1: We're gonna go to break and get back into it
- 57:01Speaker 1: right after this. You're listening hard Morning show.
- 57:06Speaker 9: All right, come on, Steve, let's recap today's strawberry letter
- 57:09Speaker 9: subject with you, which you seem to think is about Tommy.
- 57:13Speaker 1: Uh well, it's just no, no, no, Tommy.
- 57:17Speaker 6: He's just a section in him.
- 57:19Speaker 1: Which section is that?
- 57:21Speaker 6: I will get to it?
- 57:22Speaker 1: Okay? How long? Too large?
- 57:24Speaker 6: This woman is in the struggle right now. She got
- 57:26Speaker 6: a big problem.
- 57:26Speaker 2: She got a male friend she knows in first grade
- 57:29Speaker 2: day forty now, and she's divorced, and she's dated a
- 57:32Speaker 2: lot of men. But she had to reach a recu
- 57:34Speaker 2: premonition that her soulmate was somebody that she's known.
- 57:38Speaker 6: For a long time.
- 57:40Speaker 8: Now.
- 57:41Speaker 6: She got a good male friend. They hang out all
- 57:43Speaker 6: the time.
- 57:43Speaker 2: But that ain't somebody she thought it would be. He's
- 57:47Speaker 2: tall man, almost sixty five, big hands, big feet.
- 57:51Speaker 6: This is not Tommy six ' five, big hands, big feet.
- 57:57Speaker 6: That ain't Tommy. He's not over waight, but he's massive inside.
- 58:01Speaker 6: To me, I put tea go ahead, barely fed where
- 58:05Speaker 6: she fired three? That ain't hard to be bigger than hugy.
- 58:08Speaker 1: No, massive inside.
- 58:10Speaker 6: It's what I'm doing. I know because she fired three.
- 58:13Speaker 1: I'm not hugging back.
- 58:16Speaker 6: Yeah, she fired three.
- 58:17Speaker 2: I'm gonna give you that though we we we are,
- 58:19Speaker 2: but I got the line for you. This whole time
- 58:21Speaker 2: he tie was over me. He's always well groomed. Here
- 58:24Speaker 2: we go, temmy but handsome.
- 58:27Speaker 6: He is not there you go any comments. I'm not
- 58:33Speaker 6: feel free, I'm not ugly.
- 58:35Speaker 8: I got that.
- 58:36Speaker 2: I understand that. That's called denial. Okay, let's move on
- 58:39Speaker 2: with the letter. We met up for work for dinner
- 58:41Speaker 2: at another male friend of ours. He paid the tab
- 58:44Speaker 2: and he said, all you in was a hug. He
- 58:46Speaker 2: walked in to the car. I got on my tippy
- 58:49Speaker 2: toes like I always do to give Hi a hug.
- 58:50Speaker 6: But this time he kissed me. Now here we go.
- 58:54Speaker 6: This was the first. That was a first.
- 58:57Speaker 2: And I must have had too much wine because I
- 58:59Speaker 2: started kissing him back.
- 59:01Speaker 6: And Shirley come talking about instange. No, it wasn't.
- 59:04Speaker 2: It wasn't why you wanted to. Wine and alcohol make
- 59:08Speaker 2: you do exactly what you think. It removes reasoning. Another time,
- 59:15Speaker 2: Tommy got something you won't say right now?
- 59:20Speaker 1: All right?
- 59:25Speaker 6: What is sex is where you might can have something? Say?
- 59:27Speaker 7: All right?
- 59:28Speaker 2: He picked me up and he set me on my
- 59:30Speaker 2: car and we kissed for a good little while he
- 59:33Speaker 2: didn't say a word afterwards. That's that, ain't you Tommy?
- 59:36Speaker 2: You can't pick him on the pickup?
- 59:39Speaker 6: Well, you know how high you had to have over
- 59:41Speaker 6: your head to get up the mess around? Fall back,
- 59:45Speaker 6: break your back, don't try that.
- 59:47Speaker 1: We told you.
- 59:49Speaker 6: You had a g I, Joe. We wouldn't even let
- 59:50Speaker 6: you put that on the kitchen table.
- 59:53Speaker 1: Watch watch, watch, And we.
- 59:57Speaker 2: Kissed for a good while. He didn't say a word
- 59:59Speaker 2: after he took down off the car and said good night.
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: Play a move straight, player moved right there. I was
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: so toned on I told him to follow me home.
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: Now she ain't drink that much, surely, because she drove
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: home she knowed a way. So now at my house,
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: we kissed some more and then went to my bed,
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: because this is what you do.
- 1:00:19Speaker 6: So you got him in the bed.
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: After a few minutes of us trying to have sex,
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: we realized it wasn't going to work.
- 1:00:25Speaker 6: Now let's put the brakes on trying how you try
- 1:00:28Speaker 6: to have sex. I don't know about that.
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: This man is large and in charging all errors. I'm
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: not ashamed because I know an the fair and we
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: laughed hours about it. Well, how high he he held
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: if in the half sex, we don't have secret Now
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: I'm goffing the hell we laughing for now, I'm just trying.
- 1:00:54Speaker 9: I'm just asking because they're friends and it didn't work,
- 1:00:57Speaker 9: so you know, they laughed it off.
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: He opened up and said he wants to date me
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: in and I'm all for trying it because I do
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: love him and I know he loves me, but it's
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: intimacy out of the question. My answer right off the bat,
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: it's probably. But then I have other answers. I will
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: need to try it before I get too serious with him.
- 1:01:17Speaker 6: What should I do?
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: Well, let's think about this. If you say you gotta
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: try it, I suggest that you practice. All listen, we
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: got to practice. We got to treat this sex like
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: a marathon. You don't just go out there and run
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: twenty six and a half mile, no, you, No, you
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: got the wrong practice. First, you got to learn how
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: to run a mile. You can't do the whole marathon.
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: Then you got to learn how to do five miles.
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: You can't do the whole marathon. Then you got to
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: do a ten k. You can't do a whole marriae
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: a thorn. Then you gotta try to. Then you can
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: do t K, then you gotta try to do half
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: a marathon thirteen miles. You follow what I'm saying. So,
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: since this man is large, we got to ease into this.
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: We got to and I know this, I'm been through.
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: I've been through.
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: This is not your part, Tommy, it's not your part. Quiet,
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: but tonight you had your part. You You still back
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: there trying to put up on the car. I'm at
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: the house second time, trying to work out how we're
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: gonna do this. Now you just got You know, there's
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: an old saying on how to become successful, and I'm
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: gonna share it with you. And this is all I'm
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: gonna say about this letter. I've given this advice to

- 1:07:14Speaker 8: What we do?
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: That's this?
- 1:07:19Speaker 9: One's from Jasmine from Detroit. Jasmine needs some parenting advice Steve.
- 1:07:24Speaker 14: Hi, Uncle Steve, this is Jasmine from Detroit. I was
- 1:07:28Speaker 14: calling because I wanted to get some advice from you.
- 1:07:32Speaker 14: I'm thirty four, I'm a single mom. I've been single
- 1:07:36Speaker 14: for almost ten years now, I am divorced, and I
- 1:07:41Speaker 14: know you talk a lot about how men should be
- 1:07:44Speaker 14: fathers and how women shouldn't hold their kids away.
- 1:07:47Speaker 10: From the fathers for you.
- 1:07:48Speaker 12: Know, trivial things. In my case, I'm not a mom
- 1:07:52Speaker 12: that keeps my son away his father. His father just
- 1:07:55Speaker 12: doesn't want to do right. My son is fourteen years old.
- 1:07:58Speaker 12: I want to know what we're you say for single
- 1:08:01Speaker 12: moms that don't have a support system and don't have
- 1:08:04Speaker 12: fathers in their lives and males in their lives that
- 1:08:08Speaker 12: can influence their sons.
- 1:08:10Speaker 14: What advice would you give to us?
- 1:08:12Speaker 12: And also I would like to ask, would you be
- 1:08:14Speaker 12: writing a book on single moms raising sense by theirselves? Okay,
- 1:08:20Speaker 12: thank you.
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: Listen, as far as the boy goes, you have to
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: get him in some type of program where there's sports, Scouts,
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: one hundred Black Men, Boys and Girls Club, because you
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: have to get him in a position where mentoring is occurring.
- 1:08:39Speaker 6: Also, I would attempt to call the father and say, listen,
- 1:08:44Speaker 6: he really needs you. He's going through it. Your absenteeism
- 1:08:48Speaker 6: in his life is hurting him at this point.
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: And I'm not going to get in a way, but
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: I just really need you to spend some time with
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: your son because I don't know how to turn him
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: into a man, and you do, and he really needs that.
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: I would really appreciate the help from you. I won't
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: bother you with anything if you just spend some time.
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: You got to try that at least. I know that's
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: maybe uncomfortable for you because I don't know how you
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: all got away from each other, what's caused the breakup
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: or the separation. But when it comes to for the children,
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: you have to make some uncomfortable decisions sometimes and do
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: some things. It's uncomfortable that he ain't gonna tie to
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: sleeping with you. Again, not that uncomfortable, but I mean,
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: you know, look, having a conversation with your ex is
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: worth to try. But other than that, the programs that
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: are out there, sports Scouting, Boys and Girls Club one
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: hundred Black men have wonderful mannering program.
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: Yeah, write a book about this.
- 1:09:58Speaker 6: No, he had a book about that. No, No, there's
- 1:10:04Speaker 6: too much cussing to be in that book.
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: So you can cuss in the book, just not on
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: the radio.
- 1:10:14Speaker 13: These lines the book, yeah lines, you're gonna be using
- 1:10:18Speaker 13: things you can tell your children.
- 1:10:20Speaker 6: Because it just ticks me off a bit too, because
- 1:10:22Speaker 6: I need for brothers.
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: I need men out there to just look, man, I
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: know I know how they can be sometime I've had
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: X with kids, it can be a whole bunch of challenges,
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: but you gotta.
- 1:10:34Speaker 6: Fight through them because your job as the dad.
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: I'm gonna tell you right now when I learned it,
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: God does not release you from that responsibility.
- 1:10:46Speaker 6: Fellas. He just don't.
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: He don't ever let you off the hook because whatever
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: excuse you got, it ain't it ain't gonna do it
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: because you're the father.
- 1:10:57Speaker 6: So it's your job to beat the dad.
- 1:11:00Speaker 9: Mm hmm yeah, all right, great advice, Jasmine. All right,
- 1:11:06Speaker 9: thank you, Steve.
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: You're listening Morning show. All right, we have a little
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: time to kill here, Steve. This game is so hot

- 1:14:02Speaker 1: you see? Or bark at every woman you see? So
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: what are we doing? Are we winking or are we barking?
- 1:14:10Speaker 6: Whatever?
- 1:14:13Speaker 11: You're gonna wear your eyes winking, that's just you're gonna
- 1:14:16Speaker 11: be spark just just.
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: I'm gonna tell you now that bar is gonna get

- 1:15:04Speaker 1: Or would you rather bathe in warm hot dog water?
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: Pickle juice can't get up in there. That pickle juice

- 1:15:19Speaker 6: dog water can hot dog water? Ain't no vinegar in that.
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: I want that hot dog water.
- 1:15:27Speaker 6: My brothers. Let me tell you what my brothers used
- 1:15:30Speaker 6: to do. They was a honter ad, dude.
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: They would eat all the hot dogs and pour the
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: hot water juice in the bowl with some crackers and
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: tell them that was soup.
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: You did that to me, I'm gonna be talking about
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: nobody else you.
- 1:15:42Speaker 6: Did well how I had to learn it from somewhere.
- 1:15:47Speaker 6: I thought it was a good thing.
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: To pass on family tradition. Thinking I had some damn soup.
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: I really did, I swam.
- 1:15:57Speaker 9: I told her, all right, we'll be back at forty
- 1:16:03Speaker 9: nine minutes after with our last breakup the day, and
- 1:16:06Speaker 9: of course with some closing remarks from the one and
- 1:16:08Speaker 9: at least Steve Harvey right after this.
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: You're listening Steve Hardy Morning Show.
- 1:16:13Speaker 9: All right, here we are, guys, our last break of
- 1:16:16Speaker 9: the day, and Steve, you have some closing remarks.
- 1:16:21Speaker 12: You know what.
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: I'm just on this tip right now because I want
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: to just remind people, really, really focus on yourself. And
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: I'm not meaning to the point where you don't consider
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: other people. That's not what I'm saying. But in order
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: to be successful, I really want you to focus on yourself,
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: because in order to get you to the next level,
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: nobody should know you better than yourself, and the best
- 1:16:51Speaker 2: way to know yourself is to be true to yourself.
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: Do the things that feel right to you, Do the
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: things that motivate you, Do the things that put you
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: in a better position. Do the things that you know
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: in your heart are right. If it don't feel right,
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: it's probably cause it's not. If what you are doing
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: is at the expense or the cost of somebody else,
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: you're gonna have to pay for that because that's not
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: how it's done. You don't have to use anybody to
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: get to where you're trying to go in life, especially
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: if it's in the same place God has for you.
- 1:17:35Speaker 6: God don't need no help.
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: God don't need you using nobody, stepping on nobody, abusing nobody.
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: He doesn't need that help. So if you are doing
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: something and you know what's wrong, you have to pull
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: yourself up, pull yourself together.
- 1:17:51Speaker 6: Now, listen to me.
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: When you make a mistake, and you will and you
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: get it wrong, and you will get up and go again,
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: Get up and go again. You have to keep moving forward.
- 1:18:04Speaker 2: God is not looking for your perfection. He is only
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: looking for your persistence. You are not going to be perfect.
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: I don't care how hard you try. That's what grace
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: and forgiveness and mercy is all about. Because he put it.
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: He implemented a system where he knew that we were
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: going to fail so many times along the way trying to.
- 1:18:27Speaker 6: Get it right.
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: So he created grace, mercy and forgiveness. So when you
- 1:18:33Speaker 2: make a mistake, stop laying in it. It's okay, you
- 1:18:37Speaker 2: made a mistake. It's no big deal. Everybody makes them.
- 1:18:41Speaker 2: But know yourself and know what you do. If you
- 1:18:44Speaker 2: don't really care to drink, nothing says you have to drink.
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: If you're the person that really ain't in the weed,
- 1:18:51Speaker 2: just causees legal don't mean you got to do it.
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: Alcohol is legal, cigarettes is legal.
- 1:18:57Speaker 6: But if it's not for you, it's not for you.
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: You know yourself.
- 1:19:03Speaker 3: And lock in.
- 1:19:04Speaker 6: After you know yourself, lock in on your purpose. You
- 1:19:08Speaker 6: know I say this all the time.
- 1:19:09Speaker 2: The two greatest days of your life or the day
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: you're born in the day you discover why. But listen
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: to me, man, that why is critical, That why is
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: your purpose? That why is your meaning your service? That
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: why is everything?
- 1:19:27Speaker 6: You've got to.
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: Lock in on your purpose and stay there and stop
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: allowing everything to sidetrack you. So many people, Man, we
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: are so easily distracted in this world because the distractions
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: are everywhere. But you got to get tuned into your purpose.
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: Why are you on this earth? Are you really on
- 1:19:46Speaker 2: this worth to live the way you live in? I mean,
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: you have to just come to that. I had just
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: just sit myself down one day and go, Steve Harvey,
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: are you really in this world to live the way
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: you live it?
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: Do you think that God.
- 1:19:58Speaker 2: Took all this time bring you through all the stuff
- 1:20:01Speaker 2: he brought you through, for you to act like this,
- 1:20:05Speaker 2: for you to continue living like this? And when I
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: had that honest conversation with myself, the answer was no.
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: And so I had to start pulling it together. But
- 1:20:17Speaker 2: I couldn't pull it together by myself. I had to
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: ask God for some help. You know, why would I
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: not go to God for the help. He's my creator.
- 1:20:27Speaker 2: If you're driving a car and you got a car
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: and your car break down. There's an owner's manual in
- 1:20:34Speaker 2: the glove compartment, and you know why is there because
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: it helps you troubleshoot what's wrong with the car. Now,
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: if you're driving a Toyota, that manual that you're looking
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: for in the glove compartment is gonna be a Toyota
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: manual specific to the type of car that you're driving.
- 1:20:55Speaker 2: That way, you know exactly how to fix what's wrong.
- 1:20:59Speaker 2: So when something is that's wrong with you, you have
- 1:21:02Speaker 2: an owner's manual. It's your Bible, it's your Koran, it's
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: your Terror, it's whatever you read for your religious faith.
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: You have an owner's manual that specifically can fix your ailment.
- 1:21:18Speaker 2: And it comes in chapters and verses. I don't care
- 1:21:23Speaker 2: what's wrong with you, There is an answer in those pages.
- 1:21:29Speaker 2: And if you don't have the book, all you got
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: to do is ask God for help. But you have
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: got to get tuned in you your purpose. And when
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: you make mistakes and you fall, it doesn't mean it's over.
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: I have fallen thousands of times. But the blessing that
- 1:21:45Speaker 2: I have that God has given me is I have
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: the will, the desire and the faith to get back up.
- 1:21:54Speaker 6: Over and over and over again. And you can do
- 1:21:57Speaker 6: it too. You have that same thing in you. In
- 1:22:02Speaker 6: order to get up. You simply have to look up.
- 1:22:05Speaker 2: Every time I fall, I look to my heavenly Father
- 1:22:08Speaker 2: and he gives me the strip to go on to tomorrow.
- 1:22:12Speaker 6: And you got it.
- 1:22:13Speaker 2: All you got to do is get home, go to sleep,
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: wake up and go again. Come on, y'all, this is
- 1:22:20Speaker 2: the year. You can change a lot of things. It's
- 1:22:23Speaker 2: gonna take some effort on your part, but you can
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: do it. It's just take some faith. Now, faith with
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: our works is dead. You got to get busy, stay
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: true to yourself, identify your purpose, and stop getting distracted.
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: Let's go my clothing remarks. Y'all have a great day,
